- 1:43Speaker 1: you got to turn them out to turn the water
- 1:47Speaker 1: the water go. Come come on your thing, I show
- 2:02Speaker 1: will good Martyn. Everybody you're listening to the voice, come
- 2:07Speaker 1: on dig me now one and on it. Steve Harvey
- 2:10Speaker 1: got a radio show. Okay, today is simple. I want
- 2:15Speaker 1: to tell you. I want to just talk to you
- 2:19Speaker 1: about effort today. Just about effort. You know, it's it's
- 2:26Speaker 1: it's it's a word that people use to describe sometimes trying.
- 2:32Speaker 1: But what I found out about trying is trying is
- 2:35Speaker 1: just a noble way of saying you didn't get it done.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I tried when and then everybody go, well, he tried,
- 2:45Speaker 1: that was the best. Well that's that's not exactly true though,
- 2:50Speaker 1: that that's that's not exactly true you all, And I
- 2:54Speaker 1: want to talk to you about that because I don't
- 2:56Speaker 1: want you to be one of the people who just tried.
- 3:00Speaker 1: See trying, I mean, I gotta tell you to attempt something.
- 3:06Speaker 1: You're gonna have to first try, but I want you
- 3:09Speaker 1: to change your mindset from trying to getting it done.
- 3:15Speaker 1: See that's a big difference. I'm really more apt to
- 3:18Speaker 1: listen to the person that says to me, I'm gonna
- 3:21Speaker 1: get it done. I'm gonna try. What try does is
- 3:25Speaker 1: it allows you to fail. It's the person that has
- 3:28Speaker 1: the mindset that I'm gonna get it done is the
- 3:31Speaker 1: person who changes the complexion of things. I'm gonna get
- 3:35Speaker 1: it done. It's very different than I'm gonna try. You know. Look, man,
- 3:39Speaker 1: I know this sounds a little harsh, but you gotta
- 3:43Speaker 1: stop feeding yourself these little old wise sayings that ain't
- 3:48Speaker 1: it was a valiant tribe. Hey man, you talk to
- 3:52Speaker 1: anybody that took second place in the super Bowl and
- 3:55Speaker 1: see how they feel about their valiant try. The only
- 3:59Speaker 1: way to gain God's real blessings is you have to
- 4:05Speaker 1: try something. Stevie backpedaling. Now, listen to me close. You
- 4:13Speaker 1: have to put forth an effort to allow God to
- 4:20Speaker 1: put his finger on something to bless on your behalf.
- 4:25Speaker 1: You must start to attempt, now insane getting it done.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And I'm gonna try that's a difference of two different
- 4:34Speaker 1: faiths to me that I'm just talking about me. Now
- 4:37Speaker 1: you may be different, so I can't. I can't say
- 4:40Speaker 1: this about you, but I can't say this about me.
- 4:44Speaker 1: If I say I'm gonna get it done, I have
- 4:48Speaker 1: a lot of faith in it. I am going to
- 4:52Speaker 1: get it done because I just don't see failure as
- 4:55Speaker 1: an option. A lot of times now if somebody says
- 4:59Speaker 1: to me, like the Olympic team invited me out to
- 5:03Speaker 1: curl one day, which is throw these stones on the ice.
- 5:06Speaker 1: If you're not familiar with it's very simple, and so
- 5:09Speaker 1: I said, man, I'd like to give that a try.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I went in full well knowing I may not come
- 5:19Speaker 1: away from this little curling lesson as a person who
- 5:25Speaker 1: could make the Olympic team. I just wanted to try
- 5:27Speaker 1: it because I thought it looked cool and I always
- 5:29Speaker 1: wanted to get it done. Well. I failed twice. I
- 5:33Speaker 1: threw a stone completely into the other lane. I lost
- 5:37Speaker 1: that little ice shoe it shot out under me. But
- 5:41Speaker 1: you know what, I kept trying though. I kept trying
- 5:45Speaker 1: until I got four of them stones in that circle
- 5:48Speaker 1: right where I aim. But now had I give it
- 5:52Speaker 1: up after I failed. After I threw that stone in
- 5:56Speaker 1: the other lane, after I shot my shoe down all
- 5:59Speaker 1: the way to the bottom side, the little ice shoe
- 6:01Speaker 1: they give you. I never would did it, But because
- 6:04Speaker 1: I was trying, something got me together a little bit
- 6:09Speaker 1: because of my effort, and it caused me not to
- 6:11Speaker 1: fall the next time, not to throw it in the
- 6:14Speaker 1: other lane, not to shoot my shoe to the back
- 6:16Speaker 1: of the wall. All of a sudden, my trying became something.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Now had I stayed out there and it wasn't so cold,
- 6:25Speaker 1: and I went back week after week after week after week,
- 6:28Speaker 1: I promise you I could get it done. I could
- 6:33Speaker 1: at least know how to compete in a game of curling.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Might not be the best. I might not win the championship,
- 6:41Speaker 1: but I could have got it done to the point
- 6:43Speaker 1: where I could have competed in the game of curling.
- 6:45Speaker 1: So sometimes if you're scared to say I'm gonna get
- 6:49Speaker 1: it done, just go out there and get started. You know,
- 6:53Speaker 1: learn from every attempt that you make. See, don't quit
- 6:57Speaker 1: writing yourself off as a failure every time something don't
- 7:00Speaker 1: go right. When I failed on that ice, I could
- 7:03Speaker 1: have said, man, I can't curl, but hold up, man,
- 7:05Speaker 1: I'm watching four other women out here curl for other dudes,
- 7:08Speaker 1: out hit curling, little kids out hit curling. Hold up, Pardner,
- 7:11Speaker 1: You know, man, So I learned when I threw that
- 7:14Speaker 1: stone on the other ice, when I when I fail,
- 7:17Speaker 1: when when my shoe shot off, I learned from every
- 7:20Speaker 1: attempt a little bit more about it. And then I
- 7:25Speaker 1: said to myself at one point time, man, I'm gonna
- 7:28Speaker 1: get this stone in that circle. I'm gonna get this
- 7:31Speaker 1: stone in this circle. And guess what I got it done.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Now what you're saying to me, Steve, I'm saying to
- 7:40Speaker 1: you that you gotta get started, that you gotta put
- 7:43Speaker 1: forth an effort. Give God something to bless Oh God,
- 7:46Speaker 1: bless me, Oh God, bless me. Bless you? What? Bless you? Where?
- 7:50Speaker 1: Bless you? How? Stop basing your results on what you're thinking.
- 7:55Speaker 1: You gotta think higher. You get God in your life, man,
- 7:58Speaker 1: He allows you to think higher, bigger, better more. I'm
- 8:04Speaker 1: sitting up in my debt. I came up with a
- 8:06Speaker 1: plan to get out of debt in five years. I
- 8:08Speaker 1: came up with this plan right, I was sitting up
- 8:10Speaker 1: and I was tripping on it. Now, I said, wait
- 8:12Speaker 1: a minute, man, Hold up, this is what I came
- 8:15Speaker 1: up with. I said, God created heaven and earth, all
- 8:21Speaker 1: of it, the mountains, the sky, the valleys, the oceans, trees,
- 8:27Speaker 1: the birds, the Indian Ocean, all of it, made all
- 8:31Speaker 1: of it in six days, and then he rested on
- 8:36Speaker 1: the seven. So why am I taking to God the
- 8:40Speaker 1: five year plan? If he can create heaven and earth
- 8:46Speaker 1: in six days, why am I walking in there talking
- 8:49Speaker 1: about helped me in five years? How is it gonna
- 8:52Speaker 1: take God five years to getting me out of debt?
- 8:57Speaker 1: And he made heaven and Earth in six days? Due
- 8:59Speaker 1: the math, hill, Man, I ain't that big. You ain't
- 9:04Speaker 1: that big. You ain't in that much trouble. I ain't
- 9:07Speaker 1: in that much trouble. See, God got a way of
- 9:09Speaker 1: showing you some things, man, but it's gonna take some faith,
- 9:13Speaker 1: and faith gonna take some effort on your part. Man,
- 9:16Speaker 1: get out and do something. Man, you God to bless
- 9:18Speaker 1: you a little bit and give you a little bit
- 9:20Speaker 1: more courage. And then all them attempts you making is
- 9:23Speaker 1: gonna and all this so I'll try you know what
- 9:25Speaker 1: that turn into. I'm gonna get it done. And at
- 9:28Speaker 1: the end of the day, that's what you have to
- 9:30Speaker 1: do because trying to pay your rent and not paying
- 9:33Speaker 1: your rent, it's two different things. You can try to
- 9:37Speaker 1: play or pay your rent, or you can get it done. Now,
- 9:39Speaker 1: how long you think you're gonna stay in that house trying?
- 9:42Speaker 1: You got to go with the mindset of getting it done.
- 9:45Speaker 1: And if you can put some stuff out there and
- 9:47Speaker 1: give God a chance to put his finger on it
- 9:49Speaker 1: and bless it for you the most stuff he can
- 9:51Speaker 1: do for you. Quit looking around what everybody else gotten.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Gonna get some of it for yourself. Okay, all right,
- 9:56Speaker 1: you're listening show, ladies and gentlemen. The time has arrived
- 10:05Speaker 1: for us to start a moment. Before we have the moment,
- 10:10Speaker 1: let us have a brief moment of gratitude, realizing that
- 10:15Speaker 1: we really are fortunate to be here, that we are
- 10:19Speaker 1: so blessed to be able to get up this morning
- 10:23Speaker 1: and start over again. Yesterday's gone, we got a new slates,
- 10:29Speaker 1: white clean. Let's go make something happen. All right, this

- 11:28Speaker 1: back to work. Fellas was tough. I know it was
- 11:36Speaker 1: tough yesterday, all them shows in Birmingham. Oh, let me
- 11:42Speaker 1: tell a woman. Nephew did sent me a picture him
- 11:48Speaker 1: a video of him on the golf course with the
- 11:52Speaker 1: club owner and his grandson playing golf. So wait, what
- 11:58Speaker 1: are you thinking? Okay? Let me okay, Now what are
- 12:02Speaker 1: you saying? Uncle Steve here? What are you saying? Now?
- 12:05Speaker 1: Many energy to play golf? Okay, can't find the energy
- 12:13Speaker 1: come to work? Let's sure say. I was told I
- 12:19Speaker 1: can't do can't hear jokes, so I don't have That
- 12:23Speaker 1: was last everybody talking about you. You still you can't
- 12:28Speaker 1: thank you, Burt. You can't hang out with you. Boy,
- 12:32Speaker 1: I appreciate thank you. He can't. Okay, So I was
- 12:35Speaker 1: golf nephew because we were all at work. But in
- 12:38Speaker 1: your defense, Towner, you still sound like you're not rested enough.
- 12:41Speaker 1: So that out of Shirley. Shirley asked him how he did,
- 12:48Speaker 1: because he told me in the video, I'm better than
- 12:51Speaker 1: you now. Golf. We had a little lesson to two,
- 12:58Speaker 1: you know, had a little lesson. You got me a
- 13:00Speaker 1: little my little swing together something I need to work home.
- 13:03Speaker 1: But so Tommy and they really took lessons a little
- 13:07Speaker 1: bit about our next time. Yeah, oh yeah, oh one hour.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Oh you're gonna forget all that. Well, I mean I
- 13:18Speaker 1: could understand how you might be a little, you know,
- 13:20Speaker 1: fatigue today because you're out in the sun playing golf. Eighteen.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Yeah you know, I can. I can. I did not
- 13:28Speaker 1: play around the golf. I just I just went to
- 13:31Speaker 1: we're moving on right now, but we're coming back at
- 13:35Speaker 1: thirty two minutes after the hour, it's asked the CLO
- 13:39Speaker 1: Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey in the building right after this,
- 13:42Speaker 1: you're listening show time now, we're asked the clo. This
- 13:48Speaker 1: one clo is from Kadija in Maryland. Kadija says, I've
- 13:53Speaker 1: been married for four years and I had sex with
- 13:55Speaker 1: my boss last week. It was bound to happen after
- 13:58Speaker 1: months of flirting. He's single and he's really crazy about me,
- 14:02Speaker 1: and since we had sex, I'm crazy about him too.
- 14:05Speaker 1: He asked me to spend the night with him at
- 14:06Speaker 1: his home and I want you so bad, but I
- 14:10Speaker 1: don't know what I would tell my husband. I wasn't
- 14:13Speaker 1: in love with my husband when we got married. We
- 14:16Speaker 1: did it because I was pregnant. What if my boss
- 14:18Speaker 1: is my soulmate? Should I sneak away with him to
- 14:21Speaker 1: find out? What? What? And what? So he's married sleeping
- 14:33Speaker 1: with her boss, You're not. Here's a thing you need
- 14:38Speaker 1: to be careful. Yeah, because you may think your boss.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Now I'm just to tell to give you this is
- 14:46Speaker 1: real advice. If you were my daughter, I tell you
- 14:50Speaker 1: something else. But you're not, and you're convinced it. You've
- 14:55Speaker 1: already slept with this married man. So now listen to this. No,
- 14:59Speaker 1: she's he's I'm no no what Yeah, I mean she's mad.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but now listen to this. You may think
- 15:05Speaker 1: that he's your soul mate. But the one major obstacle
- 15:10Speaker 1: in the way if he don't think you his soul mate.
- 15:14Speaker 1: If you feeling to leave your husband and go over
- 15:17Speaker 1: there and find out what that he don't really want
- 15:21Speaker 1: you that much, you can lose your job. What now? Now?
- 15:27Speaker 1: She can't lose her job at this point, No, sir,
- 15:32Speaker 1: not with these new laws. Once you sleep with this
- 15:35Speaker 1: woman parting, she got a job from now fife or
- 15:40Speaker 1: the dog. What you're feeling to do? You can't let
- 15:42Speaker 1: this woman go supervisor anyway, he showed that brother, that's
- 15:49Speaker 1: every HR class you can go to. With that conversation,
- 15:54Speaker 1: he's stupid. Now he wants you to come spend the
- 15:56Speaker 1: night lady, Well, if you ain't in love with your husband,
- 16:02Speaker 1: I can't make you be in love with him. But
- 16:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you what though. You need to make
- 16:06Speaker 1: sure that he think you his soul me because this
- 16:08Speaker 1: could be a one way street and yeah, that's your
- 16:11Speaker 1: single night and he's really crazy about me, you know.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Oh wow? All right, marian I'm trying to check my
- 16:29Speaker 1: chick a. Maria Macan says, I'm a CNA and I
- 16:33Speaker 1: worked nights at a Senior Citizens home. I love my
- 16:36Speaker 1: job because the residents love to stay up late and
- 16:39Speaker 1: watch movies. What is a CNA certified certified nursing assistant?
- 16:47Speaker 1: How do you knew that my mom a nurse? Yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 1: nursing right? And last, Cienna isn't beautiful. I'm a CNA
- 16:59Speaker 1: and I work at a senior citizens home. I love
- 17:02Speaker 1: my job because the residents love to stay up late
- 17:04Speaker 1: to watch movies. I have to watch them closely because
- 17:07Speaker 1: they are still quite freaky until nasty jokes at night.
- 17:11Speaker 1: There's one old man in particular that is always sneaking
- 17:13Speaker 1: around and I caught him for the third time in
- 17:15Speaker 1: a female's room on top of her. Since it was
- 17:19Speaker 1: his third offense, I have to write him up, he said.
- 17:21Speaker 1: If I did, he got me fired for letting them
- 17:24Speaker 1: stay up late, which is a no no. What should
- 17:26Speaker 1: I do? Why are you writing they wave past grown?
- 17:36Speaker 1: These are full consenting adults. They really know what they're doing. Now,
- 17:46Speaker 1: you didn't caught him three times? Why are you gonna
- 17:48Speaker 1: write him up? And he write, You're gonna lose your
- 17:52Speaker 1: job because they ain't even post to be up. Is
- 17:53Speaker 1: this a nursing home? Yes? It is? What is it
- 17:57Speaker 1: like a nursing home slash prison. They can't stay up watched.
- 18:01Speaker 1: They're supposed to be embedded. Now they have a curfew.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I guess what the hell they owe? They grown who
- 18:06Speaker 1: want to be sleep when you old letting people stay up.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Let that man go to all these rules. He might
- 18:11Speaker 1: have three other rooms. He played. Louisa shot him on
- 18:15Speaker 1: top for her though, while he was on the bottom,
- 18:25Speaker 1: so she write him up. That's your advice. Write the
- 18:29Speaker 1: man up for what These are grown ass people? All right?
- 18:35Speaker 1: Moving on, Sophia, Your citizens need low to Sophia in
- 18:42Speaker 1: Kansas City, says my husband thinks he's a comedian, and
- 18:44Speaker 1: his white friends gass them up when they're together. When
- 18:47Speaker 1: we're both with our black friends, his jokes are embarrassing,
- 18:50Speaker 1: and they've even called him a cornball. He grew up
- 18:53Speaker 1: in a predominantly white area, so he's socially awkward around
- 18:56Speaker 1: other blacks. I fell in love with him because he's
- 18:59Speaker 1: very smart, handsome, and how can I help him relax
- 19:02Speaker 1: and fit in better with our black friends. Do that
- 19:10Speaker 1: you ain't gonna be able to do that. He fitted
- 19:11Speaker 1: in better with the white boat. Yeah, he grew up
- 19:15Speaker 1: with him with the school with him held with the
- 19:16Speaker 1: black people with corn in his head. Ain't laughing enough.
- 19:20Speaker 1: And there's three men on this show that know the
- 19:22Speaker 1: difference between the white comedy club audience and a black
- 19:26Speaker 1: comedy club order. The two damn different orders. You tell
- 19:28Speaker 1: the same joke if you want to at least a
- 19:31Speaker 1: white audience's courteous to ask up to stay. Well, that
- 19:40Speaker 1: was clever, stay hey, leaky black play, but they're funny
- 19:49Speaker 1: money back all right, So I can't help you, lady,
- 19:54Speaker 1: all right, here we go. You out with your side piece.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Your side piece gets sick, very sick, gravely ill. Do
- 20:03Speaker 1: you take her back home to her husband or you
- 20:06Speaker 1: take her to the hospital. What do you do? What
- 20:08Speaker 1: do you do? You got to leave it, put in
- 20:11Speaker 1: a You got to call her best for you. You
- 20:18Speaker 1: can't go to that house or a hospital. You can't.
- 20:21Speaker 1: There's cameras at the hospital. It's pistols at the house.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Your answers, girl, Fred, and come give her and help
- 20:35Speaker 1: Carse she din told somebody alright, all right, thanks Philo,
- 20:43Speaker 1: coming up next right after this, you're listening to show.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, Miss Anna

- 27:58Speaker 1: never happen again. I got back, I mean stride. I'm
- 28:02Speaker 1: in full emotion. Yes, I thought I lost it, but
- 28:05Speaker 1: I didn't on that first show. Now, I wasn't, but
- 28:10Speaker 1: I thought I was going. I was just more nervous
- 28:12Speaker 1: than anything that ain't happening no more. I like, not
- 28:15Speaker 1: that kind of nervous. It was that other nervous. You
- 28:19Speaker 1: was a little nervous though, I mean a little rusty.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Yeah you think that, Yeah, I think y'all I think
- 28:30Speaker 1: because you gotta dust the timing off in the order

- 28:47Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, we'll have
- 28:49Speaker 1: entertainment and national news right after you're listening to Steve
- 28:58Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. After twenty three day hiatus, Chrissie Teagan
- 29:04Speaker 1: has returned to Twitter. Missus said I chose to take
- 29:07Speaker 1: the bad with the good, she said in her return,
- 29:10Speaker 1: adding turns out it feels terrible to silence herself and
- 29:13Speaker 1: also no longer enjoy belly chuckles randomly throughout the day,
- 29:17Speaker 1: and also lose like two thousand friends at once, as
- 29:21Speaker 1: we told you. Chrissie, who of course is missus John Legend,
- 29:24Speaker 1: left the social media platform last month because she was
- 29:27Speaker 1: tired of the negativity. At the time, she says she
- 29:30Speaker 1: hadn't learned how to block out block it out, So
- 29:33Speaker 1: clearly she's getting better at it, and you know she's
- 29:37Speaker 1: back with it, so there you go. She her tweets
- 29:40Speaker 1: are fun, Her tweets are always fun hunt. Y'all know
- 29:42Speaker 1: she was missing. Yeah, we said it until we say,
- 29:48Speaker 1: oh you three days I heard. I'd like to help
- 29:51Speaker 1: her out a little bit. Ok, God, Steve, you don't
- 29:55Speaker 1: have two thousand friends followers? Yeah? Yeah, friends, she said. Friends. Yeah,
- 30:06Speaker 1: that's that's that's the problem. Stop thinking that your friend,
- 30:09Speaker 1: so they'll turn on you, turn on your like pop tarts.
- 30:16Speaker 1: All right, glad to have you back. Chrissy, Teagan and
- 30:19Speaker 1: Carla is here now with today's music news. What you got, Carla, Well,
- 30:23Speaker 1: let me tell you guys this the Country Music Awards.

- 30:33Speaker 1: made history. First sub country singer. Did you see that?
- 30:36Speaker 1: Mickey Guiden? She co hosted the first black female woman
- 30:40Speaker 1: to co host the show Country Music Awards. Yes, Yes,
- 30:46Speaker 1: with Keith Urban. Also Jimmy Allen. He's a country artist,
- 30:50Speaker 1: African American man. He won Best New Artist and came
- 30:54Speaker 1: Brown One Video of the Year. He's here for his song. Yes.
- 30:58Speaker 1: He is huge, huge, worldwide, better than the Republicans. Yeah.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Being more inclusive, right, Jay? I mean like black people
- 31:08Speaker 1: don't like country? What is right? Right? And you know
- 31:12Speaker 1: what I was reading? I do I love country music
- 31:14Speaker 1: because they're great storytellers. But I was reading an article
- 31:17Speaker 1: on CNN dot com and and it stated that African
- 31:20Speaker 1: Americans of culture is all over country music and that
- 31:23Speaker 1: the banjo, for example, is a descendant of an instrument
- 31:28Speaker 1: that was brought to America by enslaved West Africans. So
- 31:35Speaker 1: learned something new every day, right, every day, every single day,
- 31:39Speaker 1: for every single day. What you're singing, Steve, you like
- 31:41Speaker 1: country music? Do you know how big country music is
- 31:45Speaker 1: in Africa? No? I don't know. Is it? Listen to me, Carlin, Yes,
- 31:50Speaker 1: where you're from, Yes, country music is huge. Why they
- 31:56Speaker 1: love country. It's stunned me that all the radio stations
- 32:00Speaker 1: play country music like you're here soul cutting in here
- 32:03Speaker 1: come a country wow. Alright for real, I'm serious. I'm
- 32:09Speaker 1: explained it very big in a wow. I don't know that.

- 32:48Speaker 1: you go. Heyday, all right, Steve, time for our headline.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Let's go ladies and gentlemen. Miss Anne trip you very much, okay.
- 33:00Speaker 1: The Derek Chauvin George Floyd case goes to the jury today.
- 33:04Speaker 1: After some last minute instructions from the judge. The defense
- 33:07Speaker 1: and the prosecution made their closing remarks yesterday, with defense
- 33:10Speaker 1: lawyer Eric Nelson insisting that the now ex cop was
- 33:14Speaker 1: merely being a cop less May twenty five. The defendant
- 33:17Speaker 1: is not guilty of a crime if he used force
- 33:20Speaker 1: was authorized by law, and to prove guilt, the state
- 33:25Speaker 1: must further prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant's
- 33:29Speaker 1: use of force was not authorized by law. But the
- 33:33Speaker 1: prosecutor says what Derek Chauvin did that day had very
- 33:36Speaker 1: little to do with the law. Pushing him, a knee
- 33:41Speaker 1: to the neck, a knee to the back, twisting his fingers,
- 33:46Speaker 1: holding his legs for nine minutes and twenty nine seconds,
- 33:49Speaker 1: the defendants wait on him. Wasn't a sudden cardiac event,
- 33:53Speaker 1: wasn't a heart attack, wasn't a drug overdose? He says,
- 33:56Speaker 1: what that was was murder. Derek Chauvin and faces three
- 34:00Speaker 1: criminal counts second degree murder, a third degree murder, and
- 34:03Speaker 1: second degree man slaughter. The jury consists of three black men,
- 34:07Speaker 1: one black woman, four white women, two white men, and
- 34:11Speaker 1: two women who identify as multiracial. The city Minneapolis, as
- 34:15Speaker 1: well as municipalities around the country, course now engaged in
- 34:18Speaker 1: a tense awaiting game. According to the Washington Post, prosecutors
- 34:22Speaker 1: have found evidence that a racist and corrupt Virginia cop
- 34:25Speaker 1: planted evidence to put black men away, So now as
- 34:28Speaker 1: many as four hundred convictions could now be overturned. The
- 34:32Speaker 1: now former Fairfax County officer, Jonathan free Tag or freight Tag,
- 34:36Speaker 1: is under investigation but not yet criminally charged, but they're
- 34:39Speaker 1: looking into him. Yesterday mark the anniversary of the worst
- 34:42Speaker 1: US terrorist attack pre nine eleven. That was the Oklahoma
- 34:45Speaker 1: City bombing that took place April nineteenth, nineteen ninety five.
- 34:49Speaker 1: The bombing of the Alpha Premare, a federal building in Oklahoma,
- 34:52Speaker 1: killed one hundred and sixty eight people, including children who
- 34:55Speaker 1: were in the building's basement that day because it was
- 34:57Speaker 1: a daycare center that day. There another six people were injured,
- 35:00Speaker 1: and the bomb blast was so strong get this, it
- 35:03Speaker 1: either damaged or destroyed over three hundred other buildings within
- 35:07Speaker 1: a sixteen block radius of the federal structure. Timothy McVeigh
- 35:11Speaker 1: was executed in two thousand and one for the bombing.
- 35:13Speaker 1: His accomplished Terry Nichols, given life in prison without the
- 35:16Speaker 1: possibility of parole. Sad news. Former Vice President Walter Mondale
- 35:21Speaker 1: has died. Mondale, a Democrat, was the first presidential candidate
- 35:24Speaker 1: of one of the major parties to select a female
- 35:26Speaker 1: running mate, Jerline Ferraro ult Mondale ninety three. And we
- 35:30Speaker 1: also have lost a spectaculum, Missus hester Ford of Charlotte,
- 35:33Speaker 1: North Carolina, oldest living Americans, starting life picking cotton, ending
- 35:37Speaker 1: up with at age one hundred and sixteen, with some
- 35:39Speaker 1: three hundred great and great great grandchildren. They said, what
- 35:42Speaker 1: did you like? She said, Oh, I love pancakes, I
- 35:44Speaker 1: love gritson, I love bacon. I canna smell it. Now
- 35:47Speaker 1: back to Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening Steve Show.
- 35:53Speaker 1: All right, Come on, Steve introduced them. You hire a
- 35:55Speaker 1: gentleman who's here without a mistakable doubt the BLA all right,
- 36:04Speaker 1: Today we celebrate a glorious day. Salute to all my
- 36:09Speaker 1: four twenty soldiers out there. Celebrate enjoy the day, have
- 36:14Speaker 1: a good day, remember what you have to remember, Forget
- 36:17Speaker 1: what you want to forget. Honor of four twenty. In
- 36:23Speaker 1: honor of four twenty, we play this song. I can
- 37:02Speaker 1: take my mind to paradise upon or to I'm free,
- 37:08Speaker 1: yelling the strong enough by the father, please for nothing
- 37:12Speaker 1: bothers me. Oh bat one can do miracles and makes
- 37:18Speaker 1: you want to eat because you get the more jee
- 37:27Speaker 1: blast arm tune and neverland at least. I can't pretend
- 37:33Speaker 1: all of my kids I'm grown, but they're killing me.
- 37:36Speaker 1: My girl kids are the ring. Oh I can. He'll
- 37:40Speaker 1: sit for me. This nosits you'll see because I'm no jocky.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Hey in a heye, take me away from back in
- 37:57Speaker 1: friends and family man, some happy leaves. I will be
- 38:10Speaker 1: breathing free in a hand in a healing in a
- 38:22Speaker 1: healing takes me away. It's amazing to be that talented
- 38:41Speaker 1: comberation is scared just ignorant. I'm starting my own line
- 38:46Speaker 1: of thank you for just the purposes. It's going to
- 38:48Speaker 1: be called go somewhere and set your ass down and
- 38:51Speaker 1: to be hitting the market soon. So that's when I'm
- 38:54Speaker 1: starting my own Oh wow, all right, coming up with
- 38:57Speaker 1: thirty four minutes after more of the Team Market Morning show.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Right after this You're listening show, the prosecution and the
- 39:07Speaker 1: defense in the Derek Chauvin trial delivered closing remarks. Yesterday
- 39:11Speaker 1: was a very long day. The prosecutor told the jury
- 39:15Speaker 1: on Monday that Derek Chauvin had no compassion and pressing
- 39:18Speaker 1: his knee on George Floyd's neck for nine minutes in
- 39:21Speaker 1: twenty nine seconds was not an accident. Prosecutor went on
- 39:25Speaker 1: to say that Chauvin had to know that he killed
- 39:28Speaker 1: George Floyd. Prosecutor also said that this case is exactly
- 39:32Speaker 1: what you saw in your eyes and know in your heart.
- 39:36Speaker 1: The defense meanwhile said that if George Floyd could talk,
- 39:40Speaker 1: then he could breathe. Wow, he could breathe just enough
- 39:44Speaker 1: to tell you he couldn't breathe longs. Yeah, to eke
- 39:51Speaker 1: out a craft for help. But if you don't adhere
- 39:55Speaker 1: to the crowd to help that it turns into desperation.
- 39:59Speaker 1: And then after wow, you just keep your knee on
- 40:02Speaker 1: this man's name. Look, man, you had your knee on
- 40:04Speaker 1: his net for nine minutes. Well, everybody trying to hear
- 40:07Speaker 1: this mess right here, and if you don't convict this
- 40:09Speaker 1: man right here. I'm just telling you right now. I'm
- 40:12Speaker 1: telling you right now, and it's nothing I can do
- 40:14Speaker 1: about it. It's gonna be a problem. It's going to
- 40:18Speaker 1: be a problem. Is it's gonna be a problem from
- 40:24Speaker 1: black people. It's gonna be a problem for non black people.
- 40:29Speaker 1: It's gonna be a problem. Yeah, it's going to be
- 40:32Speaker 1: a problem. And you can't you can't dump this on
- 40:36Speaker 1: You have to blame yourself. And look at all the
- 40:39Speaker 1: nationalities you had marching for Black Lives Matter. You're gonna
- 40:42Speaker 1: have a lot of people up to said somebody. Oh yeah,
- 40:45Speaker 1: and still uh, multicultural, multi racial outside of the courtroom,
- 40:51Speaker 1: outside of this country. Yeah yeah, and I mean just
- 40:54Speaker 1: to hear you know what's going on. Uh, they're out
- 40:57Speaker 1: there now, you know the truth. Jurors will be sequestered.
- 41:01Speaker 1: They will decide if Chauvin is guilty of second degree murder,
- 41:05Speaker 1: of third degree murder or uh and second degree manslaughter.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Chauvin could face up to forty years in prison. So
- 41:14Speaker 1: even the police chief for Minneapolis he when he testified,
- 41:19Speaker 1: he said Chauvin did not learn this at the police academy.
- 41:22Speaker 1: To kia his knee on somebody's neck for nine minutes,
- 41:26Speaker 1: over nine minutes, can I ask, I think, what is
- 41:31Speaker 1: what is right? What is he writing when he over
- 41:34Speaker 1: there city? He's writing on fighting look busy. That's how
- 41:44Speaker 1: it reminded me of that. But I think I think
- 41:46Speaker 1: he's gonna walk. And let me tell you why, because
- 41:50Speaker 1: you only need one person out the jury. Just I
- 41:53Speaker 1: don't care, people, I don't care. I think we have
- 41:58Speaker 1: so much peer pressure this time on them who saw it.
- 42:04Speaker 1: They've all seen this, they've seen it too, and and
- 42:08Speaker 1: like and like to prosecutor, say, make your judgment on
- 42:12Speaker 1: what you saw. Yes, this video don't lie. Come on man, y'all, y'all,
- 42:18Speaker 1: come on, come on. Well, I don't mean it's not
- 42:24Speaker 1: that you're getting up. You're just you're you're basing how
- 42:27Speaker 1: this country is, basically saying, yeah, I know exactly how
- 42:34Speaker 1: this country is. Every day, I'm just I just keep waiting.
- 42:39Speaker 1: And you know, every now and then they get it right.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Every now and again they get it right very rarely
- 42:46Speaker 1: for us, oh yeah, but every now and then they
- 42:50Speaker 1: get it right. You know, now this right here, they
- 42:54Speaker 1: watched this. Look, they gave out all the police officers
- 42:57Speaker 1: some time for killing uh, John, both of them. Once
- 43:01Speaker 1: John was John, both John, and they gave her time
- 43:07Speaker 1: and there was no video. This video was worldwide and
- 43:13Speaker 1: I'm telling you, in Africa, they they have. All they've
- 43:16Speaker 1: been talking about is how can this be? But how
- 43:22Speaker 1: can this be? Really? Back to Rodney King, I know
- 43:26Speaker 1: he didn't die, but there was video there too. And
- 43:29Speaker 1: I was living in LA during that time, and uh,
- 43:34Speaker 1: the jury saw what we all saw. I know. I'm
- 43:38Speaker 1: just thinking that because they saw a murder and they
- 43:42Speaker 1: watched it for themselves a murder, and there were enough
- 43:45Speaker 1: non African Americans of Paul, I think that that's is
- 43:49Speaker 1: going to produce a different outcome. All right, with more
- 43:53Speaker 1: of the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Sure, hope you're right
- 43:56Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening Steve harp Morning Show. Coming
- 44:02Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour, right about four
- 44:04Speaker 1: minutes after. It's my Strawberry letter for today. The subject
- 44:08Speaker 1: he wants women on the side. We'll get into that
- 44:12Speaker 1: in a little bit, but uh, right now, the nephew
- 44:16Speaker 1: is here with today's prank phone call. What is going on?
- 44:21Speaker 1: Me and your baby getting married? Oh huh, me and

- 53:37Speaker 1: he wants women on the side. Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm
- 53:40Speaker 1: a twenty eight year old professional woman living with my
- 53:43Speaker 1: thirty three year old boyfriend. We've been dating for almost
- 53:47Speaker 1: two years and we've had a lot of ups and
- 53:50Speaker 1: downs because he doesn't have a lot of respect for women.
- 53:52Speaker 1: He thinks women are loyal. They aren't loyal, and women
- 53:56Speaker 1: only date men with money and trade up if a
- 53:59Speaker 1: flashyere guy comes along. We've broken up a few times
- 54:03Speaker 1: over his insecurity and each time he begs me back.
- 54:06Speaker 1: I am doing age appropriate stuff on social media, like
- 54:09Speaker 1: posting a selfie when my makeup is perfect, or when
- 54:12Speaker 1: I'm dressed up to go out with him, or a
- 54:14Speaker 1: pick from brunch if I go out with my girlfriends.
- 54:17Speaker 1: He doesn't like it when men comment on my beauty
- 54:19Speaker 1: or my booty. I have curves and I can't hide
- 54:24Speaker 1: them in my clothes, and I'm not trying to. Whenever
- 54:26Speaker 1: he gets upset with me, he goes out with other
- 54:29Speaker 1: females and he tells me about it afterwards by saying
- 54:33Speaker 1: they're just nice women he's met on social media and
- 54:36Speaker 1: it's harmless. At first, I thought it was a joke
- 54:39Speaker 1: and he was just trying to make me jealous. But
- 54:41Speaker 1: I read his DMS and the comments weren't tell We're
- 54:45Speaker 1: telling him thanks for a great date, and they were
- 54:47Speaker 1: looking forward to seeing him again. I asked him if
- 54:51Speaker 1: he was crazy, and I demanded that he stopped entertaining
- 54:54Speaker 1: other women. He said, it's insurance in case one of
- 54:58Speaker 1: the handsome men on instagram am gets my attention and
- 55:02Speaker 1: takes me from him. This is all very childish to me,
- 55:06Speaker 1: and I've put too much sweat and tears into this
- 55:08Speaker 1: relationship to have it end over something so stupid. I
- 55:12Speaker 1: would never flirt with or go out with another male
- 55:16Speaker 1: that I met on social media, especially while I'm dating him.
- 55:20Speaker 1: How can I get him to stop disrespecting our relationship? Well,
- 55:24Speaker 1: it doesn't look like you can. And him dating other
- 55:28Speaker 1: women and telling you it's insurance in case a handsome
- 55:31Speaker 1: man on Instagram takes you from him is not stupid, Okay,
- 55:36Speaker 1: it's cheating. It's just cheating. That's what it is. I mean,
- 55:40Speaker 1: plain and simple. It's total disrespect for you. And it
- 55:44Speaker 1: begs the question why are you with this fool? Why
- 55:48Speaker 1: we don't care that he thinks women are disloyal or
- 55:52Speaker 1: that they only date men with money and blah blah blah,
- 55:55Speaker 1: So what we don't care anything about that. That's his stupid, insecure,
- 56:00Speaker 1: controlling opinion, and please don't buy into it any longer.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Stop it. You got to stop it now. He's using it.
- 56:07Speaker 1: He's playing you to get what he wants, and that's
- 56:10Speaker 1: women on the side. Like you titled your letter, you know,
- 56:14Speaker 1: tell him the jig is up. You know what's up.
- 56:17Speaker 1: You know what he's trying to do. He can't trick
- 56:19Speaker 1: you anymore. You're tired of it. You've been with him
- 56:22Speaker 1: for two years. This has got to stop. And you're
- 56:25Speaker 1: moving on if he doesn't change his ways, and it
- 56:28Speaker 1: doesn't look like he is. I mean, this is the
- 56:30Speaker 1: dumbest thing ever insurance that's a new one and really
- 56:35Speaker 1: really stupid Steve. This this letter right here, it's ridiculous. Yeah, now,
- 56:42Speaker 1: young lady, you're twenty eight years old, So uncle Steve,
- 56:45Speaker 1: you're gonna help you out here. So here's a deal.
- 56:48Speaker 1: This is the deal. I'm not gonna play with you.
- 56:51Speaker 1: This ain't funny. I'm gonna show you how this game
- 56:53Speaker 1: working that he got going right here. You've been dating
- 56:57Speaker 1: his dude. He thirty three, you're twenty eight, and you
- 57:00Speaker 1: live with him. Yeah, they ain't. It ain't like y'all said,
- 57:04Speaker 1: y'all live together, and this is what he's doing. Y'all
- 57:09Speaker 1: had some ups and downs, and he doesn't have a
- 57:12Speaker 1: lot of respect for women. Red flag. If he don't
- 57:16Speaker 1: have respect from women, does that not include you? I
- 57:19Speaker 1: think it does. Let me show you why he thinks
- 57:22Speaker 1: women are loyal and women only date men with money
- 57:25Speaker 1: and trade up. If a flash here richer guy comes along.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Let me explain something to your sister. This is game.
- 57:31Speaker 1: What he's done is he has prepared, he has prepared
- 57:35Speaker 1: a position statement. This is a prepared, positioned statement to
- 57:41Speaker 1: justify his own actions. This is a prepared statement. He said,
- 57:48Speaker 1: this is just designed for you. All right, y'all, and
- 57:52Speaker 1: broke up. You get back, You do social media stuff,
- 57:55Speaker 1: You post selfies, your makeup is perfect, You get dressed
- 57:58Speaker 1: up to go out with him. All a picture, you
- 58:01Speaker 1: going to girlfriend brunch? All that's cool. He doesn't like
- 58:06Speaker 1: him when men comment on your beauty or your booty.
- 58:09Speaker 1: You got courage. You can't hire to me your clothes.
- 58:11Speaker 1: You ain't trying to do now here with him. When
- 58:12Speaker 1: he get upset, he go out with other females and
- 58:15Speaker 1: tells me about it afterward by saying he's just nice
- 58:17Speaker 1: women he met on social media and harmless. What he
- 58:24Speaker 1: that's the trade off. You post a picture, I'm gonna
- 58:28Speaker 1: go out with another girl. Who wa You go to
- 58:33Speaker 1: brunch with your girlfriends and somebody comment on your picture.
- 58:35Speaker 1: I'm taking another girl out. That's the trade off. That
- 58:40Speaker 1: don't seem a bit extreme to you? Are you kidding me?
- 58:43Speaker 1: Little girl? Listen to me. Don't be stupid. Don't be stupid.
- 58:48Speaker 1: You getting played and he's telling you. Why does he
- 58:51Speaker 1: tell you he does this. He's telling you this so
- 58:54Speaker 1: he can see how much he can get away with,
- 58:57Speaker 1: and so far he's getting away with it, all, all
- 59:02Speaker 1: of it. Then you said, at first, I thought it
- 59:05Speaker 1: was a joking. He was just trying to make me
- 59:07Speaker 1: jealous a joke. Let me ask you something. Was this
- 59:11Speaker 1: funny to you? Huh? This joke that you thought was
- 59:20Speaker 1: a joke, was just trying to make you jealous? What
- 59:25Speaker 1: That's what you came with. You're giving him way too
- 59:28Speaker 1: much rope. And you know what he's doing with this rope.
- 59:31Speaker 1: He hanging you with him. He ain't hanging his self, sister.
- 59:35Speaker 1: He hanging you with it. Now, when I come back,
- 59:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you the rest of it. I ain't
- 59:39Speaker 1: got no jokes for you. I'm gonna help you out
- 59:41Speaker 1: because if it's another woman out there in this position
- 59:43Speaker 1: right here, don't be stupid. Now you're professional. You got
- 59:47Speaker 1: it going on. Don't be stupid, Steve gonna standing out
- 59:50Speaker 1: when we come back. All right, hold that thought, Steve.
- 59:53Speaker 1: We'll have part two of your response coming up at
- 59:56Speaker 1: twenty three minutes after the hour's subject. He wants women
- 59:59Speaker 1: on the side. We'll get back into it right after
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: this you're listening to show, all right, come on, Steve,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: Let's recap today Strawberry letter, the subject he wants women
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: on the side. Why this twenty eight year old professional
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: woman living with his thirty three year old food This
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: old ignorant ass dude, y'all has some ups and down.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: He don't have a lot of respectful women, which means
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: he don't have respect for you because you are old woman.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: He thinks that women aren't loyal and women only date
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: men with money and trade up if a flash of
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: richer guy comes along. Once again, I'm gonna tell you
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: what this is. This is game. This is a prepared,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: positioned statement that he has created just for you to
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: justify his actions because he's not been to stop doing
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: nothing he's doing. So when you post stuff on social media,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: age appropriate selfish should make up his right. You're dressed
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: up to go out with him, or a picture from
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: brunch when you go out with your girlfriend, he don't
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: like and when men comment on the pictures. So now,
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: whenever he gets upset with you, he go out with
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: other females and he tell you about it afterwards, saying
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: they're just nice women he met on social media. So
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: wait a minute. So when you post a picture of
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: yourself on social media and he see the men commenting,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: his comeback to that. His rebuttal is, I'm taking a
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: woman out with me. That don't seem extreme to you,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: that don't seem like a real that's not a that's
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: not an exchange. So now you are living with a
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: man who goes out with other women while living in
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: y'all shared space, and he tells you he just made
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: nice women in social media, so he's just trying to
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: find out how much you can take. Okay, I thought
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: it was a joke and he was just trying to
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: make me jealous. Once again, Was this joke funny, because
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: it's not funny. Are you laughing? Because we now so.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Then you read his DMS and the comments were telling
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: him thanks for a great date and they were looking
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: forward to seeing him again. I asked him if he
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: was crazy, and I demanded that he stopped entertaining other women.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: You twenty eight, why are you dealing with this? Why
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: are you dealing with a man so disrespectful that while
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: you are living together in the house, he's dating other women.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: What he said this insurance in case one of the
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: handsome men on Instagram getting my attention to take me
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: from it. This is all childish to me, and I
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: put Now here's the product, won't you pay attention to
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: I put too much sweat and tears into this relationship
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: to have it end over something so stupid. No, listen
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: to me, sister. You put too much into this relationship
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: to have it in. What relationship are you saving? This
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: is a bad relationship. You live with a guy that
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: do what he wants to and he ain't trying to
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: apologize for it. So you know what you've done. You've
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: just made a bad investment, that's all. It's just been
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: two years, that's all it is. Don't worry about the blood,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: sweat and tears, because if you continue, you're gonna get
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: two more years of this right here, because there's no
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: sign of remorse in this letter. For him. This is
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: how he is. This what he gonna do, and then
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: you can do about it. He has enough prepared statements
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: to make you feel like you are the gold money. Now.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: You said I would never flutter go out with another
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: male I met on social media, especially while I'm dating him. Well,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: he don't feel that way. He don't feel that way
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: at all because he dating you, and he going out
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: with whoever he want to and they're all in his DM.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: How can I get him to stop disrespecting our relationship?
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: You're wasting your damn time. The question is how can
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: I get him to stop disrespecting our relationship? The question
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: is why are you in a disrespectful relationship? You ain't
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: got to get him to stop disrespecting relationship. You need
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: to get out of the relationship. He's not disrespecting relationship.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: He disrespecting you. You told him about the top of
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: the letter. He doesn't respect women. You are a woman.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: He don't respect you. If he's not disrespecting relationship, he's
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: disrespecting you. He's not a good guy. He's not for you.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: I'm not gonna help you save a disrespectful relationship. Young lady,
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: you're twenty eight. You obviously got it going on. You're intelligent,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: you're working, you do age appropriate stuff. And he's thirty
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: three and here, jiggolo, you live with a man who
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: dates other women while y'all live together and in a relationship.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: And he's not said he's stopping because you know what
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: those women are insurance and insurance dumb How do you
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: let a man tell you that that these other women
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: are insurance? Right? Well, you know what you need to do.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: You need cash you in the policy. You need to
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: get all the cash out of this policy because I'm
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: gonna get your stuff. Because you can do this by yourself,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: you can start, you can get somebody even to do
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: this here. That's deep. Go out with a woman and
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: then tell you he go out with a witness. Its bravest. Yeah,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: he ain't got a noough sense to lie. All right, Steve,
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: thank you, post your comments, Untidy aid. Strawberry Letter. It's
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Steve Harvey FM on Instagram and Facebook, and don't forget
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: to check out the Strawberry Letter podcast on demand. Now
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: coming up at forty six minutes after the hour, it's
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Sports Talk with Junior. Right after this. You're listening Steve
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. All right, guys, Junior is here with
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: Sports Talk. What you got Junior? Okay? Poetry no no?
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: I Yeah, Well listen, y'all. We got a new black
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: owner alert, new black owner alert legend. Duwayne Wade is
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: now part owner of the Utah Jazz. Yeah. Yeah. It
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: seems to be like a shift man and in the
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: cultural basketball right now. I mean this is this is
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: big because you know grand Hill is an owner of
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: the Atlanta Hawks. He's in a group. And then you
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: have miss Renee Montgomery who is a part owner of
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: the Atlanta Dream. And now you have Dwayne Wade who
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: was an owner of the Utah Jazz. And you already
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: know Michael Jordan owned the Charlotte Hornets. So you start
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: to see a lot more players starting to own and
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: that's important because of the effect that they can have
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: in the communities that the Dwayne Waye said he's going
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: to be a part of that community, not just with
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: the team, but make a difference in that community as well,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: where I think it's big. Man, that is a really
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: big move for Dwayne way Do not leave Salt Lake City.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Don't move his house down or you understanding you're gonna
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: leave in Salt Lake City. You got that, they didn't say,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: you know. Also, Lebron James is part of owner the
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: Red Sox too, So a lot of these players, man
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: are making some in baseball. They're taking the money man
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: and buying into these franchises, which I think it's great.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Now we just get it done in the NFL, you
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: get that same good old boy world. You think you're
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: gonna do that and take one team at the time, Junior,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: just getting you just get what we get, though, but
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: this is big. We give what we get, you know,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: So I think that's amazing. I'm proud of Dwayne Wade. Man,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: he's a great guy. Man. What's up? Not that Lebron?
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Since Lebron out? Man, who think gonna win the NBA
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: this season? Have you seen in Utah? Then first in
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: the West? But you know, you know New Jersey they
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: got they gotta get kd Carry and James Harden all
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: on the court at the same time, if that's possible. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: if they could get them. No Older State has to
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: get Thompson back. How about the halt? I just wanted
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: to say something of the conversation a lot better, but not.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: But I'm gonna tell you right now, if A d
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: and Lebron don't hear help them get that? Yeah, the
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: NBA championship would be the Knicks is balled. Man, shout
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: out to the Knicks being competitive this season. Man, all right,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Junior coming up at the top of the hour, have
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: you ever broken up with someone? But then they told
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: everyone they initiated the breakup. We'll talk about that right
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: after this three times, yes, yes, get a bitter man
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: you're listening to all right, guys, here's the question for you.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Have you ever broken up with someone but they told
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: everybody that they initiated the breakup? The New York Post
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: is reporting that Kanye is, uh, he's a little upset.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: He's annoyed that everyone is saying that Kim Kardashian initiated
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: their breakup and divorce, but that it was actually him
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: who initiated the split, saying they had nothing in common
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: but the kids for over a year. O believe Yeah, okay, ego,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: come on. Uh so, guys, can you relate to how
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: Kanye feels about not getting credit for initiating the break
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: up with no? Has that ever happened to you? Not
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: like that? Don't nobody, don't don't nobody, I know quit
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: nobody That fine, that's just me. I don't know nobody never,
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: I don't know. You ain't in there when somebody that
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: damn fane, I don't damn thing beautiful. I think I
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: think Kanye needs to be quiet right now because all
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: of this stuff. Doing the divorce, brother, it is not
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: good to be saved. Quiet, you're gonna you're gonna anger
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: this woman because what you can't do. Man, it started
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: throwing shade on a woman. You know, you started saying
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: stuffing that we had nothing in common except to kids. Up.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: That ain't what you were singing about. You know, your
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: little rap songs wasn't about that. And then tell him, Steve,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: this is California where you're about to get the voice
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: what you need to get. Shut up because California and
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: then kids, California boy, half of everything he got it's
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: for me. You got no let me kids. Boy. The
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: guy that sees slavery was an option. You think he
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: felt to be quick, that's who you think the right there.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: He needs to be pushing he need I wish you would.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: I wish he would just not talk about the deforce public.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: It's Stephen, I'm smart and you don't need to make
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: the woman look bad. You're breaking up, Just just going
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: to get out. Man. Ever half calling, you know you
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: ever half in calling the day, but they don't get
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: half Okay, they're going to a new billionaire too well,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: she fit to be another billion there because Jay's right,
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: it's California. You just gotta look man, at the end
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: of the day, these are your children's mother yes, right,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: and you have to be mindful. I don't care what
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: they say about you. I don't care what they do.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: You cannot slam your children's mothers. And what difference does it?
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: Man called it quit? Who called it off? What does
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: that mean? You're still trying to say face. He's trying
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: to make himself look good. That's all I mean, that's it.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: But that's not it's not gonna work. And listen, well,
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: in my case, every time I broke up, and in
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: my case, any time I broke up, they wanted out.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: They wanted out all and wanted out. It's best. What
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: did you do? Crazy? What is that? Just pretty much
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: the same stuff you see here, Timmy, This can get
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: on your nerves. Oh you didn't show up, you were
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: never there. They got the same shot when you were there.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: Is it's a bunch of foolishness going this is not
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: new behavior. Oh yeah, you've known him for you've been
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: knowing him for. No. Man, it's me, it's me, it's me,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: It is me because I really never knew why Jay, Well,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: surely let me tell you this and how much I
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: could say this. Honestly, I can speak for my old friend.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Jay is really not marriage material. He's just a good friend,
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: hell of a nice guy, hell of a provider. He
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: got the means, the wherewithal the talent, he got all
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: that what makes him not marriage material. Though I know
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: he doesn't like me. He just gonna be one one day,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: he just gonna sit in the drive way and decide
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: I don't go all right, we'll have more of the
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: coming up to twenty minutes after. Right after this, you're
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: listening to show. All right, guys, well we were talking
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: about this. I'll put it like that. The question I
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: put to you, guys with have you ever broken up
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: with someone? But they told everybody with them that broke
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: up with you, that initiated everything everybody wanted out on him. Yeah,
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: he admitted it was him and disbehavior. And we see
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: they got the full shot of that, right all I said,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: I've known Jail a long time. Wonderful guy, grates sense
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: of humanney, fun to be around, loving, caring, very attentive.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: But he's not the married He's not married. The story no,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: because it's gonna come a day when he's sitting in
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: the driveway and he gonna look up in that door
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: and decide I ain't going in there no more. You
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: got you say what JA be out? I change? Steve
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: is absolutely right, And when we break up, I don't
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: care who gets the credit for the break up. All
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: I want to do is break up. That's if you
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: want the credit you got, it is yours. But we're
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: breaking up, right, because that's all I'm not a fact.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: I'll give you the credit in the house, Yes, I
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: just want out. Who Well, Jay, I know you don't
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: like company, so so consider this. If you ever got
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: married again, we gotta go. Sorry. We'll look more. A
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: little Harvey Morning Show coming up in thirty three minutes after.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to the prosecution and the
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: defense and the Derek Chauvin trial delivered closing remarks. Yesterday
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: was a very long day. The prosecutor told the jury
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: on Monday that Derek Chauvin had no compassion and pressing
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: his knee on George Floyd's neck for nine minutes in
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: twenty nine seconds was not an accident. Prosecutor went on
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: to say that Chauvin had to know that he killed
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: George Floyd. Prosecutor also said that this case is exactly
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: what you saw in your eyes and know in your heart.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: The defense meanwhile said that if George Floyd could talk,
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: then he could breathe. Wow, he could breathe just enough
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: to tell you he couldn't breathe longs. Yeah, to eke
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: out a craft for help. But if you don't adhere
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: to the crowd to help that it turns into desperation.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: And then after a while you just keep your knee
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: on this man's name. Look, man, you had your knee
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: on his net for nine minutes. Well, everybody trying to
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: hear this mess right here, and if you don't convict
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: this man right here, I'm just telling you right now.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, and it's nothing I could
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: do about it. It's gonna be a problem. It's going
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: to be a problem. And it's gonna be a problem
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: from black people. It's gonna be a problem from non
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: black people. It's gonna be a problem. Yeah, it's going
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: to be a problem. And you can't you can't dump
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: this on You have to blame yourself. And look at
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: all the nationalities you had marching for Black Lives Matter.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: You're gonna have a lot of people up said somebody.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and still uh multicultural, multi racial outside of
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: the courtroom, outside of this country. Yeah yeah, and I
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: mean just to hear you know what's going on. Uh,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: they're out there now, you know. The twelve jurors will
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: be the questioned. They will decide if Chauvin is guilty
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: of second degree murder, of third degree murder or uh
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: and second degree manslaughter. Chauvin could face up to forty
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: years in prison. So we even the police chief for
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Minneapolis he when he testified, he said, Chauvin did not
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: learn this at the police academy. To keep his knee
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: on somebody's neck for nine minutes, over nine minutes, can
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I ask, I think, what is what is right? What
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: is he writing? When he over there the city he's writing,
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: he looked busy. That's it reminded me of that. But
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: I think I think he's gonna walk. And let me
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: tell you why, because you only need one person out
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: the jury, just one. Don't care people coming up. It
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: is our last break of the day. It is the
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: last break of the day. And this is throwing me
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: off being here today. That's always say hey, Jay, it's
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: throwing us too. I'm combobulated. I'm really combabulated, just so
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: you know it's throwing us off too. And we'll have
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: some closing remarks from our fearless leader, the one and
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: only Straight from the Motherland, Steve Harvey at forty nine
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: minutes after. Right after this you're listening to. All right, guys,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: here we are our last break of the day on
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: this Tuesday. Wow, what a day. Thank you for coming,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Jay and of course Tommy. It's always nice to see you.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Yus in their schedule, Yes, yes, between golf, don't do it,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: just two things out of time. All perform and come
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: and work to play golf and work. But then he
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: ain't gonna be able to perform. What you say, girl, well,
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: I understand how I can throw you off to me,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: I understand it. I understand it. Thank you. Let's play
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: when you get back from ever. Let's do that. Let's
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: get that thing here. Oh I want to play. I
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: want to play. All fall us need to play. We
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: all four need to play. See who can really play well?
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Me and him. I gotta say this, Jay and him
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: laughing at you and Junior, that's gonna be. I don't
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: think you will. I don't think ain't gonna be that
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: much laughing. No course he was a candidate. I know,
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: yeah said year when the last time play? Oh large,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: d come on, do that blow your You got club?
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: You got clubs, Jake? Probably I got a club in
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: LA that's the only club. Like, yeah, I got the spot.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: But I think I can hold my own with both
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: y'all because y'all talk a lot. I think me and
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: Junior got this playing well, but we'll do it. You'd
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: be so disappointed me. Well, you're not gonna play. Yeah,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: we're gonna be together, ja, but you canna be disappointed.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: So you get out the But you're looking for your
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: ball again. I think that would be fun. I think
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: that my ball in Georgia one time, playing with playing
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: with State, my ball was right at the lake, right
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: by alligator. I had no idea what you don't get
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: what ball? My ball right there? You see that gator.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: That's not your ball? No more that. Hey, y'all listen, um, yeah,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: I just want to talk about something, you know, with
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: this trial, my closing remarks here, with this trial and
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: the upcoming verdict, I fully expect a guilty confection on
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: some levels. I fully do expect it simply because of
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: the climate that we live in today and because of
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: the sheer, open brutality of it, and the number of
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: people who saw it. And this time the movement was
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: joined in by a lot of other people, not just black.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: The first Black Lives Matter movement was all black people.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: This next time it was a rainbow coalition of people.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: So I have faith that they're going to come to
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: a conviction. If they don't, I can assure you that's
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: going to be a problem, because, oh, I've learned that
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: oppressed people's voice is protest. When you are oppressed and
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: you're not listening to them, their voice becomes protest. Now
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: it's sad to say that, because you would think this
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: country would try to get it right. It's sad that
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: they don't, and it's sad that they have enough people
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: in it who won't. That are some people who are
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: never going to stop being RACI to stop being racist.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: They're just not there not. There's some people in here
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: is committed to the fact that they actually think they're
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: better than somebody based on the color of their skin.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: I travel around the world. I'm not a world traveled
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: as many people, but I've been to a quite quite
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: a few number of places, and people of color everywhere
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: have to feel the act of racist I've seen it everywhere.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: I'm in South Africa right now. Apartheide just ended in
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: the mid nineties. Ninety six was when apartheid ended. That
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: was that's not long ago, man. And so I look
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: at the black people here, the Africans who are trying
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: to regain what is rightfully theirs, and the struggle that
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: they are in and the racism that they face, trying
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: to just be treated as the owners of this continent.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: Africans own this continent. This is ours, This belongs to us.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: It was stolen and taken. Kind of reminds me of America.
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: So I've seen black people and people of color everywhere
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: have to suffer for racism. So tell me what is
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: the problem? I mean, I can only surmise this thing
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: one way. It seems everywhere I go that if you
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: are black and a person of color, some group of people,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: within the group of people who are considered white or European,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: seem to have a problem because of the color of
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: your skin. That that's just seems to be everywhere. It's
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: in Italy, it's in Croatia, it's everywhere. It's everywhere. That's
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: a problem. How is it that you think because of
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: the color of your skin that it makes you better
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: than us, or you have more rights, and that we
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: should be forever patient until y'all come to terms with
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: who we are. We're gonna start showing you who we are,
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: and the time is now. That's all I have to
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: say about it. For all Steve Harvey contests, no purchase necessary,
