- 2:05Speaker 1: y'all listening to the voice, come on dig me now
- 2:08Speaker 1: wanting only Steve Harvey Man old man, got a radio show. Yeah,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I do. God so big to me, man, I just
- 2:15Speaker 1: have to tell you about it. I can't help it.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It's rather obvious to me how big, how good God is.
- 2:23Speaker 1: He's absolutely tremendous. He's off the chain. He owned one,
- 2:30Speaker 1: he'd be clowning, he'd be just showing out. Man. I'm
- 2:34Speaker 1: just over here, just on receiving it. You know, if
- 2:38Speaker 1: you're out there, start your mission today, Start your mission today?
- 2:45Speaker 1: What are you waiting for? Why do we as people
- 2:50Speaker 1: delay what we want or delay the process to begin
- 2:59Speaker 1: what we on our hopes, our dreams, our desires. Why
- 3:03Speaker 1: won't you start your mission today? Why don't we all
- 3:08Speaker 1: decide together that just individually. Look you're listening. You got
- 3:14Speaker 1: something that you've been dreaming about. You got an ambition
- 3:17Speaker 1: of yours that's not yet fulfilled. You got goals you
- 3:20Speaker 1: haven't accomplished yet. Everybody has them. Everybody's got them. Everybody's
- 3:26Speaker 1: got something that's that's on the table that they haven't
- 3:29Speaker 1: yet attacked yet. What are you waiting for? Start your
- 3:33Speaker 1: mission today? Stop the procrastination. Now, the procrastination is only
- 3:38Speaker 1: hurting you yourself. If you got a goal or aspiration,
- 3:43Speaker 1: a dream and you fall off track momentarily, you can
- 3:47Speaker 1: get back to that because God know where you're left off. Now.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You may have to accomplish a few more things since
- 3:54Speaker 1: you stop for a long period of time, but God
- 3:56Speaker 1: know where you left off, you can get back on track.
- 3:59Speaker 1: I look, man, this dream of being on TV since
- 4:02Speaker 1: I was a kid, and it got off track. Now
- 4:05Speaker 1: it got off track. I just kept it as one
- 4:08Speaker 1: of the dreams, and in some real dog moments when
- 4:12Speaker 1: it looked like it wasn't gonna happen, all I was
- 4:15Speaker 1: hanging on too was just the hope that one day
- 4:17Speaker 1: it could. But that's what faith is really about. Faith
- 4:22Speaker 1: is the belief in things that you cannot see. But
- 4:25Speaker 1: faith gives you the confidence to keep hoping. Man, sometime
- 4:30Speaker 1: it just keep hope alive. Sometimes, you heard Jesse Jackson said,
- 4:33Speaker 1: just keep hope alive. Sometimes, Man, it's just the hope.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I was hanging on the hope. And I'm talking about
- 4:41Speaker 1: when it got real ugly and funky out there for me,
- 4:45Speaker 1: when it looked like I wasn't gonna ever make it,
- 4:48Speaker 1: and all of the facts was in and everything pointed
- 4:51Speaker 1: in the direction you're not gonna make it. You didn't
- 4:54Speaker 1: really messed up this time. Then I sat there and
- 4:57Speaker 1: I just hung on to the hope. But man, that's
- 5:01Speaker 1: what I'm saying. If you got a dream on aspiration
- 5:04Speaker 1: of vision or something, when you fall off track and
- 5:08Speaker 1: you want to go get back in line, God holds
- 5:11Speaker 1: your place. See he held on to that fum me.
- 5:15Speaker 1: He knew I was off tracking how the line, but
- 5:17Speaker 1: he said, okay, here's where we stopped. You want to
- 5:20Speaker 1: be on TV that when you get it together and
- 5:22Speaker 1: you quit tripping and you coming your turn to me,
- 5:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna hold your place, put you back in line.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Then we're gonna finish the journey that took me a
- 5:28Speaker 1: lot longer to get here than I wanted to. But
- 5:31Speaker 1: then it was necessary because I needed all of the
- 5:34Speaker 1: mishaps to happen to me along the way. So when
- 5:36Speaker 1: I got on the radio one day, which I did
- 5:38Speaker 1: not see coming, Steve Harvey got a radio show, y'all.
- 5:41Speaker 1: That's why I say it every day. See, because of
- 5:44Speaker 1: this radio show that I didn't see coming. Now I
- 5:46Speaker 1: have stories to tell, I got experiences to share, and
- 5:52Speaker 1: I can tell you about me better than I can
- 5:53Speaker 1: tell you about anybody. And I've been through enough where
- 5:57Speaker 1: it's relatable, where enough people can go. Man, that happened
- 6:01Speaker 1: to me, appreciate you saying that that's what it was for. See,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I get it now. See at the time, though I
- 6:06Speaker 1: didn't like what was happening to me. At the time,
- 6:10Speaker 1: I was really in total disagreement with God on a
- 6:12Speaker 1: lot of stuff he was pulling off on me. But
- 6:15Speaker 1: in essence I was really pulling it off on myself.
- 6:18Speaker 1: But through his grace and mercy, he kept me through
- 6:21Speaker 1: all of my mistakes, all my bad decisions, all my miscalculations,
- 6:26Speaker 1: all my misfires, all the times I knowingly stepped out
- 6:30Speaker 1: there indeed wrong. He forgave me, he said, because Man,
- 6:35Speaker 1: if you ever come to me, I have a plan
- 6:38Speaker 1: for you that it is going to be far and above.
- 6:42Speaker 1: It will supersede everything you've ever dreamed of. That's what
- 6:46Speaker 1: I did. I just got sick of me, good and
- 6:49Speaker 1: sick of me, and I turned it over to God.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And then God started working and here I am today.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Now see threw it me yet? Nope? Have I arrived
- 7:00Speaker 1: five jet? Nope? But guess what the journey is cool?
- 7:05Speaker 1: You know. It's like I was talking to this young
- 7:06Speaker 1: brother the other day about comedy and he's really good
- 7:10Speaker 1: stand up. You know, this young dude is really good.
- 7:13Speaker 1: He said, Man, what is this I feel every night
- 7:17Speaker 1: before I go on stage. I don't know what it is.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I just wanted off me, I said, sir, listen to me,
- 7:23Speaker 1: you young dude. This thing that climbs on my back
- 7:27Speaker 1: every night before I go on stage. I don't know
- 7:29Speaker 1: what it is. It's got something to do with pressure,
- 7:33Speaker 1: It's got something to do with anticipation. It's got a
- 7:36Speaker 1: whole lot to do with the fear of falling. He said,
- 7:39Speaker 1: what you mean by that? I said, every night I
- 7:41Speaker 1: walk out on stage, it's like I'm about to go
- 7:44Speaker 1: and step off a cliff. I said, it's a sickening feeling.
- 7:48Speaker 1: He said, man, but you do so well. I said,
- 7:50Speaker 1: that's because the parachute opens. I say, but I want
- 7:53Speaker 1: you to understand something. When I first walk out there,
- 7:56Speaker 1: it's just stepping off the cliff. Now, these jokes provide
- 8:00Speaker 1: a parachute which slows my descent when I jump off
- 8:05Speaker 1: the cliff, and I turned it into a glide. And
- 8:08Speaker 1: then I take the audience this way and I swing
- 8:11Speaker 1: them back over that way. We might swing out to
- 8:13Speaker 1: the Colorado Rockies. We may go down to Miami with
- 8:17Speaker 1: this joke. We may take it on out to LA
- 8:19Speaker 1: and I just swing back and forth till I land softly.
- 8:23Speaker 1: The crowd cheers. The night is over with, I said,
- 8:26Speaker 1: but it's been too many nights though. When I walked
- 8:28Speaker 1: off that cliff and I pulled the cord in, the
- 8:30Speaker 1: parachute didn't open. I said. Now I'm just free falling
- 8:34Speaker 1: out there for thirty minutes. Ain't no jokes working. Ain't
- 8:37Speaker 1: the parachute didn't open? I said, So see, that's what
- 8:40Speaker 1: it's like for me. And then you know what I
- 8:43Speaker 1: found out. If you don't walked off the cliff in life,
- 8:46Speaker 1: and you ain't got no God in your life. It's
- 8:49Speaker 1: like not having a parachute. You step off the cliff
- 8:53Speaker 1: and you just free falling. Now see we all now
- 8:57Speaker 1: that fall gets you closer to the grave, right, were
- 9:00Speaker 1: all head into the grave from the moment we're born.
- 9:02Speaker 1: But the cool thing about a relationship with God is
- 9:05Speaker 1: when you step off the cliff and you got God
- 9:08Speaker 1: here a parachute. You're still going down, but it's a
- 9:12Speaker 1: nice ride, and God just helps your your descent appear
- 9:16Speaker 1: more like a rise and then more like a euphoric fall.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Instead of not having no God in your life and
- 9:23Speaker 1: you just walking off that cliff every day, free falling.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Ain't got no core, you steady pulling, you hauling the
- 9:30Speaker 1: whole way because you messed around with yourself and ain't
- 9:33Speaker 1: let God come into your life and provide a parachute
- 9:36Speaker 1: for you. I would rather have a parachute since I
- 9:40Speaker 1: got to jump every day, than to not have one.
- 9:43Speaker 1: God has been like a parachute from me. Ask me
- 9:47Speaker 1: why where that came from. I can't tell you. But
- 9:51Speaker 1: like I always say, most good things that happened in
- 9:53Speaker 1: my life that I can't explain, it's usually him. You're
- 9:57Speaker 1: listening ladies and gentlemen. I am here, but I am
- 10:05Speaker 1: not here alone. I come to you with the group
- 10:07Speaker 1: of people who are just as excited Jess as enthusiastic
- 10:12Speaker 1: about bringing you the morning show. Before we get started,
- 10:16Speaker 1: we would like to say to you, please, please lend
- 10:20Speaker 1: yourself heavily to gratitude. Start thinking about it on a
- 10:24Speaker 1: daily basis. Y'all, be grateful you are here. You are
- 10:27Speaker 1: getting the daily news of people not being here. And
- 10:31Speaker 1: if you're still receiving the news, the fact remains that
- 10:34Speaker 1: you are not the news. So I am grateful that
- 10:38Speaker 1: I am not that news of the day. Thank you
- 10:41Speaker 1: for life, for health, for strength, and for awareness, but
- 10:46Speaker 1: most of all, thank you for gratitude. Oh man, let
- 10:50Speaker 1: the church say a man, a man that was an
- 10:54Speaker 1: enthusiastic group. Let the church say amen, a man, thank
- 11:00Speaker 1: you very much. Shirley Strawberry calling for real kill spaces
- 11:05Speaker 1: and nephew, Tommy, what you got? You know, you know,
- 11:10Speaker 1: I just I gotta ask you somethingmuch because I know
- 11:12Speaker 1: you've been you know, you've been married a long time
- 11:14Speaker 1: and everything, and you got a lot of experience get
- 11:17Speaker 1: them with women and everything. You got a lot of
- 11:18Speaker 1: spending way more life experience. Nothing. But did you ever
- 11:22Speaker 1: think forty forty years of that? There's some conversations you
- 11:27Speaker 1: just want to jump out the window. You don't even
- 11:29Speaker 1: know why y'all talking about this. Do you ever had
- 11:31Speaker 1: on We'll see Junior. You're not married yet, and I

- 12:06Speaker 1: ass out the window. You may be on an airplane,
- 12:10Speaker 1: you could be on a boat. It ain't gonna matter.
- 12:13Speaker 1: You could be in a fast moving vehicle. I've done
- 12:15Speaker 1: it before. I've rolled out of a card sick out
- 12:18Speaker 1: onto the highway. I've done it before. I just never
- 12:20Speaker 1: told nobody you're doing it. Do it? No, I don't
- 12:25Speaker 1: want about it. I don't want nobody to try to
- 12:27Speaker 1: save me. You know, I'm gonna just I'm gonna just
- 12:31Speaker 1: get on out this one as Yeah. If you think
- 12:35Speaker 1: that when you get married, you're gonna have conversation to
- 12:38Speaker 1: make you want to jump out of one. You ever
- 12:42Speaker 1: been busted by a woman before? Yeah, man, we're gonna
- 12:48Speaker 1: add this morning. Yeah. Well, I'm just I'm talking to
- 12:51Speaker 1: junior time back. Yeah, and I'm not. I'm not. I
- 12:53Speaker 1: don't even drag. I'm nothing in you. But you put
- 12:55Speaker 1: yourself at that hours. Well, if you ever had that
- 12:59Speaker 1: car conversation, that's a jump out the window compass. Yes, yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 1: we've had all these And what's bad, Junior? Winn It
- 13:07Speaker 1: ain't no windows closed up, Hey, Julie, I'm talking about
- 13:15Speaker 1: run through a wall maker winn. Hey, Junior. I was
- 13:18Speaker 1: sitting at a bus stop with a girl in college
- 13:21Speaker 1: that I was dating, and she bought up the subject
- 13:24Speaker 1: where she had busted me to last night. We were
- 13:26Speaker 1: sitting at the bus stop. I stepped off in front
- 13:29Speaker 1: of the bus. All right, thank you don't know how
- 13:35Speaker 1: to have it coming up in thirty two minutes after
- 13:38Speaker 1: the hour, We're gonna start the show off with nephew.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Tell me to run that prank back right after this.
- 13:43Speaker 1: You're listening show right now, it's time for the nephew
- 13:48Speaker 1: to run that prank back. Are your lights on? Are
- 13:53Speaker 1: your lights on? Trying? Pretty simple? Cat dog? If you
- 13:57Speaker 1: wod Hello, Hello, uh Is, I'm trying to reach us.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Who's calling this? This? They called me Pepper I live.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I think I actually live in an apartment behind you.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I think my my apartments are up against each other.
- 14:14Speaker 1: But you are you in Uni? Who want to know? Actually?
- 14:19Speaker 1: I want to know. I'm calling you. I got a
- 14:20Speaker 1: little bit of a problem. I actually live in uh
- 14:24Speaker 1: which is the apartment that that's our apartments are backed
- 14:28Speaker 1: back with each other. And I don't even know harm man,
- 14:32Speaker 1: But you are all right? Yes, okay, here's here's what's
- 14:36Speaker 1: going on. It took me a long time time to
- 14:38Speaker 1: figure this out. But when you come home in the
- 14:40Speaker 1: evening and you turn your life down, my my oven
- 14:46Speaker 1: and stove come on, and I'm talking about every out
- 14:50Speaker 1: on my stove is on and burning hot. How do
- 14:54Speaker 1: you know? That's because when I turned my life home,
- 14:56Speaker 1: I just I mean, I didn't figure it out. It
- 14:58Speaker 1: just seemed like every time I mean I hear you
- 15:00Speaker 1: when you close your door, and every evening, I'm like,
- 15:04Speaker 1: why is my oven in my stove coming on? And
- 15:07Speaker 1: I'm talking about my whole kitchen just hunting degrees in there,
- 15:10Speaker 1: but I under stove being on like that. Okay, did
- 15:13Speaker 1: you call maintenance? From my understanding, I'm on the listen.
- 15:16Speaker 1: They're not gonna get to me for a couple of
- 15:18Speaker 1: days now, so I'm not I'm asking you, if you're
- 15:21Speaker 1: on mind, to not how your lights on until they
- 15:24Speaker 1: come get this fix. Okay. So you asking me not
- 15:28Speaker 1: to turn on my lights for three or four days,
- 15:30Speaker 1: and you know, to sit in the dark. Well, I'm
- 15:32Speaker 1: just saying it's it's only gonna be for a couple
- 15:34Speaker 1: of days. I know it's a little bit of an inconvenience,
- 15:36Speaker 1: but I mean I can't be over here in the house,
- 15:38Speaker 1: you know, damn about to burn down. Are you listening
- 15:41Speaker 1: to what you're saying? You're asking me to sit in
- 15:43Speaker 1: the dark. You know, I got a baby. I can't
- 15:44Speaker 1: sit in the dark. Okay. I mean, y'all have any
- 15:47Speaker 1: camels or something y'all can work with or something like that.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I have to give my baby food milk. I mean, really,
- 15:54Speaker 1: you want me to sit in the dark. And you
- 15:55Speaker 1: don't want me to turn anything on. You know, I
- 15:57Speaker 1: gotta feed my baby. I understand, and and and much
- 16:01Speaker 1: respect to you in your child, much respect. But what
- 16:04Speaker 1: I'm trying to explain to you is, I mean, we
- 16:06Speaker 1: have to look at the big hazard here. The bigger
- 16:08Speaker 1: hazard is is that I'm gonna here with fire on. Okay,
- 16:12Speaker 1: First of all, where you getting this wee from? I
- 16:14Speaker 1: am I involved in your situation. I have nothing the
- 16:17Speaker 1: one that's going on in your house. Your life is
- 16:19Speaker 1: patched in some kind of way to my oven and stove. Okay,
- 16:23Speaker 1: but I still I don't have anything to do with that.
- 16:25Speaker 1: You know, you need to call management whatever. But I
- 16:30Speaker 1: don't have anything to any with that. And I want
- 16:31Speaker 1: to know, how do you know when I get home
- 16:34Speaker 1: and turn on my lights? I mean, like, are you
- 16:36Speaker 1: looking at my window or something? Are you a peeping tongue?
- 16:38Speaker 1: Do I need to call nine one one? You don't
- 16:40Speaker 1: need to call nobody on me. Now what we need
- 16:42Speaker 1: to get somebody over here and fix this other in
- 16:44Speaker 1: the stove. That's what we got to get done. But
- 16:46Speaker 1: until then, right now, you can't turn them lights off.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Oh I'm turning all my life. I mean I know
- 16:53Speaker 1: you ain't trying to regulate what I do in my house.
- 16:55Speaker 1: For listen, I'm gonna tell you just like this here,
- 16:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna need you to keep them lights off until
- 17:00Speaker 1: meeting this get over here in two days. Now. If
- 17:03Speaker 1: if if I see this stove come on and all
- 17:06Speaker 1: these our eyes on this on this stove come on,
- 17:09Speaker 1: then I'm gonna come over there and we're gonna have
- 17:11Speaker 1: to direct to fire the problem. But I cannot have
- 17:13Speaker 1: this coming on now. I'm not no, I'm not, no,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm telling you not to turn the lights off.
- 17:21Speaker 1: That's what I'm asking you to do. Well, I can't
- 17:23Speaker 1: sit in the dark and I'm gonna turn on my lights.
- 17:25Speaker 1: So you know you're gonna have to deal with it. No,
- 17:27Speaker 1: I'm not gonna deal with it. You're gonna have to
- 17:29Speaker 1: actually turn the lights off. Now, I understand. Do you
- 17:32Speaker 1: have someone you can go stay to me? Do you
- 17:34Speaker 1: have somewhere you can go stay. I'm not leaving my house.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I don't have a problem. You're the one with the problem.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I'm not going to leave here and then you turn
- 17:42Speaker 1: it on, and then you come over here and knock
- 17:44Speaker 1: on my door. You think you see firing your stove.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You're gonna see some fire. I can show you some
- 17:47Speaker 1: five Okay, listen, I'm trying to with as calmly as
- 17:50Speaker 1: I can. Okay, I'm trying to work with me calmly. Okay.
- 17:53Speaker 1: The only thing you're doing right now is you're trying
- 17:55Speaker 1: to tell me what to do and run my household. Okay.
- 17:57Speaker 1: If you're not gonna work with me, then that's what
- 18:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna do. I already found out where the break is.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I just go and just turn all the power off
- 18:04Speaker 1: so you don't have your power wall it off. Wait
- 18:06Speaker 1: a minute, what, No, you can't turn my break off?
- 18:10Speaker 1: Are you crazy? I got to do what I got
- 18:12Speaker 1: to do. I can't start no far right? You get
- 18:14Speaker 1: my phone number anyway? I mean, how you know my name?
- 18:17Speaker 1: My number? Artist? You know what? I'm about to come
- 18:20Speaker 1: home and he's gonna put the foot up your I
- 18:22Speaker 1: don't care if he put your in the of it
- 18:25Speaker 1: and we set you on fire. What you're talking about,
- 18:28Speaker 1: You're gonna damn turn the break off. Let me all.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I'm trying to show me and prevent a farm for
- 18:32Speaker 1: the whole complex, and you're up in there trying to
- 18:35Speaker 1: commit U. This is like arsen for you to turn
- 18:38Speaker 1: that on. I don't give a you don't want you
- 18:40Speaker 1: already got a problem, So I'm just gonna ask fel
- 18:42Speaker 1: to the fire. You call me and again, I want
- 18:44Speaker 1: to know how you got my No. Look, I'm nothing

- 43:22Speaker 1: my strawberry letter forward today the subject how often should
- 43:26Speaker 1: you get a massage? That's a question? How often should
- 43:30Speaker 1: you get a massage? All right, all right, but right
- 43:32Speaker 1: now the nephew is here with today's prank phone call.
- 43:35Speaker 1: What you got next? The shop lift? Let's go Hello. Yes,
- 43:43Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach a Tanya. Please, Hi, Tanya. My
- 43:48Speaker 1: name is Daniel from the head of store security. Here
- 43:51Speaker 1: at your job. Listen, I'm trying to see um. I'm
- 43:56Speaker 1: gonna have to I know today's your day off. I'm
- 43:58Speaker 1: looking at the schedule here it seems that you and
- 44:00Speaker 1: come back in until Saturday. I'm trying to see if
- 44:02Speaker 1: it's possible I can get you to come to the store.
- 44:05Speaker 1: There's a bit of a situation I want to discuss
- 44:07Speaker 1: with you. There's about eighteen hundred dollars worth of merchandise
- 44:11Speaker 1: missing from the store. Yeah, it's about eighteen hundred dollars
- 44:16Speaker 1: worth of merchandise. And we definitely know that this is
- 44:18Speaker 1: a in house situation. This is not someone walking in shoplifting.
- 44:23Speaker 1: This is definitely an in house situation with employees who
- 44:27Speaker 1: have evidently been shoplifting from the store, taking things, and
- 44:31Speaker 1: we want to get down to the to the roots
- 44:33Speaker 1: of the problem. Well, ma'am, it's uh, it's been brought
- 44:39Speaker 1: to my attention that there's a possibility that you may
- 44:41Speaker 1: be part of this situation and a thief. I don't
- 44:49Speaker 1: still you don't call my house accusing me? Is still
- 44:52Speaker 1: I ain still listening from nobody. Okay, well, my hangar man.
- 44:56Speaker 1: What I'm trying to do is just trying to trying
- 45:00Speaker 1: to say out and stole something and I stole them.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Say okay, wait just a second, now, do you have
- 45:05Speaker 1: a sister named Cynthia? Yeah? What about it. Well, now
- 45:10Speaker 1: it seems that here on some of the footage that
- 45:12Speaker 1: we have on camera, that it's a possibility that it
- 45:16Speaker 1: seems like your sister's actually wearing some of the merchandise
- 45:19Speaker 1: that we sell here in the store. Okay, just because
- 45:22Speaker 1: she wears something that we sell in the store, don't
- 45:25Speaker 1: mean that I stole it. Well, we don't see where
- 45:29Speaker 1: she's act. I've backed the footage up as far as
- 45:31Speaker 1: I could. I don't see any footage of where she
- 45:34Speaker 1: purchased this particular merchandise. And my assumption is maybe you
- 45:38Speaker 1: gave it to her. I gave her And just because
- 45:42Speaker 1: you don't see what somebody purchased it, don't mean that
- 45:44Speaker 1: it's been stolen. Okay, here's what I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 45:47Speaker 1: just get to the chase of this, Tanya. What I'm
- 45:49Speaker 1: gonna have to do is this, if I can't get
- 45:52Speaker 1: you to come to the store, man. And matter of fact,
- 45:55Speaker 1: here's another question for you before I go any further.
- 45:58Speaker 1: You have children at all, Tanya? Yeah, I got children.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Why do you is it possible? Because I'm missing a
- 46:04Speaker 1: lot of baby merchandise as well, and you know what,
- 46:08Speaker 1: you know what you're really cruising for this morning. Okay,
- 46:13Speaker 1: because you don't call somebody on the off day accusing
- 46:16Speaker 1: them of stealing. Okay, here's what I gotta do. Are
- 46:19Speaker 1: you coming into the office so I can talk with you.
- 46:23Speaker 1: I'm not coming know where on my off day. Well,
- 46:26Speaker 1: then what's gonna happen, Miss Tanya, is I'm gonna have
- 46:29Speaker 1: to actually come to your home, check your closet. I'm
- 46:32Speaker 1: gonna have to check your kids and see if they're
- 46:35Speaker 1: doing what check and see if they're wearing merchandise that
- 46:37Speaker 1: comes from this. Come to my house if you want to,
- 46:40Speaker 1: and they're gonna take your somebody here in the body back.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Excuse me. You heard what I said. You heard what
- 46:46Speaker 1: I said. You don't call nobody. I bust my death store.

- 47:00Speaker 1: from nobody. I don't have to steal. That's why I
- 47:03Speaker 1: work all that. You understand. I think you've been busting
- 47:06Speaker 1: your butt. Taking stuff is what you've been doing. You've
- 47:09Speaker 1: been from nobody. You understand me. I do not steal.
- 47:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna come over there. I'm checking your closets things,
- 47:17Speaker 1: but it ain't no seaf you understand. And I'm checking
- 47:19Speaker 1: your babies as well. And I'm making check my babies.
- 47:22Speaker 1: And see what happens. You put your heads on any
- 47:25Speaker 1: damn thing in here and see what happens. Okay, I
- 47:28Speaker 1: don't wanta have to drag your butt here. Oh you're
- 47:31Speaker 1: gonna drag somebody? Oh? Now you threatening me? I don't
- 47:34Speaker 1: want to drag of your house security guy. You tough
- 47:37Speaker 1: security guy. You like your job that much, you're willing
- 47:39Speaker 1: to die for that? Huh? Who said anything about me? Die?
- 47:43Speaker 1: I did come over here, and that's what's gonna happen.
- 47:46Speaker 1: That's what happens when you put people on the off days,
- 47:48Speaker 1: you get hurt. Okay, I get a couple of damn days.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Oh and y'all gonna call me with this? So are

- 52:49Speaker 1: I gotta do a disclaimer on this one because it's
- 52:54Speaker 1: a little could be a little graphic, so if you
- 52:56Speaker 1: have young children in the car, parents, please be aware
- 52:59Speaker 1: of that. Okay, subject how often should you get a massage?
- 53:02Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley, I am a thirty year old man
- 53:06Speaker 1: and I love working out. I started a new very
- 53:09Speaker 1: intense workout routine last month and my trainer suggested that
- 53:13Speaker 1: I get a good deep tissue massage to get out
- 53:16Speaker 1: the kinks. So I scheduled a ninety minute deep tissue
- 53:20Speaker 1: massage with a massage therapist. It's an in home massage
- 53:24Speaker 1: service that came highly recommended by my trainer. A day later,
- 53:28Speaker 1: a female therapist showed up at my house and I
- 53:31Speaker 1: was surprised at how beautiful and in shape she was.
- 53:35Speaker 1: She sat up the massage table in the den and
- 53:38Speaker 1: I got on top of the table, faced down in
- 53:41Speaker 1: my underwear. She advised me to get totally undressed so
- 53:45Speaker 1: she could work every muscle, including my gloups. I was naked,
- 53:50Speaker 1: only covered by a sheet. As she carefully rubbed each
- 53:54Speaker 1: muscle in my body, she whispered for me to roll
- 53:58Speaker 1: over on my back. She worked done my neck and
- 54:01Speaker 1: my shoulders. Then she moved down to my legs and
- 54:04Speaker 1: leaned over to whisper, may I may I I shook.
- 54:11Speaker 1: I shook my head. This is my letter. I shook
- 54:14Speaker 1: my head. Yes, and this fine female therapist grabbed a
- 54:18Speaker 1: muscle that I normally don't get massaged. I lay there
- 54:21Speaker 1: quietly as yeah as she massaged it, and she even yeah,
- 54:27Speaker 1: she even went downtown. I was speechless. She even went downtown. Yeah, yeah,
- 54:36Speaker 1: well we can't read, but it means the same thing. Okay,
- 54:43Speaker 1: I was speechless, but I was praying that my wife
- 54:45Speaker 1: didn't walk in. Yes I'm married, God, but yeah, but yeah, yes,
- 54:57Speaker 1: I'm married. But there is no way I was going
- 54:59Speaker 1: to stay up this massage therapist because she handled me
- 55:04Speaker 1: way better than my wife ever has. Oh yeah, got up.
- 55:11Speaker 1: I tipped her well and she left. Now I'm not
- 55:15Speaker 1: stupid enough to have an affair, but I really really
- 55:18Speaker 1: need to see her again. After all, my trainer did
- 55:22Speaker 1: tell me that I should get regular massages. There's got
- 55:25Speaker 1: to be some way I can justify this. Steve, I
- 55:28Speaker 1: need your advice, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, Steve,
- 55:33Speaker 1: I need George. Yeah yeah, all right, I'm right. Why
- 55:40Speaker 1: are you answering the question? I'm I'm I'm about my
- 55:43Speaker 1: head and prayer. Okay. Yeah, he's saying he can't be
- 55:49Speaker 1: stupid enough to have an affair. But smart people have affairs. Okay,
- 55:53Speaker 1: And if you think you're smart, uh, you know, listen,
- 55:56Speaker 1: smart people have affairs. How do you think affairs get started?
- 55:59Speaker 1: They get started in sometimes in these ways. Certainly massages
- 56:04Speaker 1: sometimes then repeat massages like you want to do. Come on,
- 56:08Speaker 1: married man, your trainer and this massus have quite a
- 56:12Speaker 1: hustle going on here, so please be careful. Never ever
- 56:16Speaker 1: write her a check, because what you don't want is
- 56:19Speaker 1: for your wife, who you stated in the letter, dummy,
- 56:23Speaker 1: very clearly, that it's not better. She's not better than
- 56:28Speaker 1: the masseuse at handling you. I mean, come on, what
- 56:30Speaker 1: if your wife comes in and catches you? Okay? Do
- 56:32Speaker 1: you think about these things? The other thing you have
- 56:36Speaker 1: to stop is letting this massus, this massage therapist come
- 56:40Speaker 1: into your home and massage you. There's no way you
- 56:43Speaker 1: can justify that continually. All right. Your wife could come
- 56:47Speaker 1: in and walk in on you at any time. What
- 56:49Speaker 1: are you gonna do? Then? Okay, you waited till the
- 56:52Speaker 1: very end of the letter to tell us you were married,
- 56:54Speaker 1: after you sucked us all in anyway, after hurried me.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Were all taught up in the letter. And then he
- 57:07Speaker 1: drops the bomb that he's married. All right, he needs
- 57:09Speaker 1: to stop this immediately, you know, especially at his home
- 57:13Speaker 1: he's gonna I mean, this is how affairs start. Right here.
- 57:16Speaker 1: The writing is something. Don't do it, don't do it,
- 57:18Speaker 1: all right, Steve, Come on, I hear your prayers. I
- 57:20Speaker 1: hear your prayers. Make me proud for wud don't listen
- 57:27Speaker 1: to thank you, listen to me. Just thirty old man
- 57:33Speaker 1: loves working out. I don't. I work out just so
- 57:39Speaker 1: I don't look like certain people. I know. That's the
- 57:41Speaker 1: only reason I work out. If that was appeal that
- 57:45Speaker 1: could get this stomach off, I take it. I promise
- 57:48Speaker 1: you I would. I started a very intense workout routine
- 57:53Speaker 1: and trainer told you to get a deep tissue with shots,
- 57:56Speaker 1: get out to kings, scheduled a ninety minute one massage stairs,
- 58:01Speaker 1: was represmentded by your trainings and in the home therapist.
- 58:05Speaker 1: A day later, this woman show up at the doing
- 58:07Speaker 1: lord her mercy. She was fine, like scared. Wait a minute,
- 58:11Speaker 1: I am scared sharing because he's asking me for helping.
- 58:14Speaker 1: I ain't got nothing for his ass. She set up
- 58:17Speaker 1: the massage table into den God. I got on the table,
- 58:21Speaker 1: face down, well as you should, in your underwear as
- 58:25Speaker 1: you should. She advised me to get totally undressed so
- 58:28Speaker 1: she could work every muscle, including my glutes. Now let's
- 58:31Speaker 1: stop right there. First of all, we're in your house.
- 58:36Speaker 1: If a fine woman is in your house and tells
- 58:40Speaker 1: you to take your draws off. We're in trouble, yeah,
- 58:44Speaker 1: because I can't get this massage without taking my draws off,
- 58:48Speaker 1: and she wanted to work every muscle, including my glutes.
- 58:52Speaker 1: That's this ass. Hold hold up. Once you touch my
- 58:55Speaker 1: ass with your head and I don't have draws on,
- 58:59Speaker 1: that is a action that come with that. I'm just
- 59:01Speaker 1: trying to tell you that we'll be back. Yeah, we will.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Well that first two of Steve's response coming up in
- 59:08Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour today's letter? How often should
- 59:11Speaker 1: you get a massage? We'll be back right after this.
- 59:14Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right, Steve, come on, let's recap
- 59:19Speaker 1: today's strawberry letter, which you are so mad about. It's
- 59:22Speaker 1: the subject her family's ghetto and she doesn't know. Tell me,
- 59:26Speaker 1: I'm so damn what Most ghetto people don't know. They
- 59:29Speaker 1: get off called they from the ghetto. That's just where
- 59:32Speaker 1: they from, that's just where they live. Now, you sitting
- 59:35Speaker 1: have been here because both your parents got college degrees.
- 59:38Speaker 1: Work hard, you and your siblings you mad twenty great
- 59:42Speaker 1: woman two teenage. Both of y'all got degrees. You met
- 59:46Speaker 1: in college. But you can't stay in her family where
- 59:50Speaker 1: his family probably can't stay in you either, your blush
- 59:53Speaker 1: you ass coming over. See there, there are a lot
- 59:57Speaker 1: of they lack for a better turn. Hit them his
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: snobby ass sitting up in here. You don't like nothing
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: they do down there, So I'm gonna tell you about him.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: I must admit that as the kids grew up, I
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: limited their access to my wife's side of family, but
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I had to be careful not to film these peoplehood.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: They have a cookout for everything. See, you think your
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: kids is well mannered and smart kids, but they don't
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: got no streets smarts you know what I mean in
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: stupid ass book smart people. I know Bill Gates ain't
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: got a college degree. Mark Zuckerberg ain't got a college degree.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Hold on, let me show you. So let's get it
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: real to them. We're talking about college greed. Timmy got
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: a college degree? Oh my don't have a college degree. Now,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: which one us you want your kids to be? You
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: want your kids Tommy got a college degree. I ain't
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: who you want your kids to be, probably neither one
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: of us. But if you had to pick one, what
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: you pick his stupid ass. That's all I'm as you
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: got a college degree, ain't got a damn brain in
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: his skull. So much for your little damn college degree.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: They have a cookout for every occasion. They live on
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: the Stame Street in five or six mobile homes. They
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: always down the party, play cars and dre Damn it,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: what's wrong with that? You got to do something. We've

- 1:17:11Speaker 1: him on it. Boy. I remember one year, man, I
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: got Neil white suit. My mama told me, boy that
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: I don't want you get no white suit. I had
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: paper out I give me. I'm getting the white suit.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: White suit. I only had one pair of shoe they
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: was black, so I wanted a black shirt. Couldn't find
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: a black shirt. Bought a white shirt at a box
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: of Rick Die and died it. I died this shirt
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: in church, got hot to die, bleed, not the shirt
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: into the suit. Your mother told you. I'm since have
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: been here, man, with this cheap as shirt. I got sweating.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: It's leaking. To die is leaking onto the suit. I
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: was so hurt. Now my suit got these great blotches
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: on it. O man, all right, coming up, it's Steve
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: Harvey and his closing remarks. You don't want to miss it.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: At forty nine after the hour, you're listening to Steve,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: we're here at the last break of the day. Just
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: one more thing. You're closing remarks, What do you have
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: for us today to take us into the weekend? Steve well,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I think I should talk about dreams because it's such
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: a major component to your success. Dreams are such an
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: important component to success. You can't underplay dreams. See, let
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: me tell you something. Education is necessary for certain fields
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: and professions. You want to be a doctor, a lawyer,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: a dentist, a pilot, a scientist, a teacher. Education is
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: so necessary for many professions in this world. But there
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: is nothing, and I repeat, there is nothing more important
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: than your dreams. Your dreams have value. Your dreams wake
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: you up in the morning. The dreams give you hope.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: You know, I'm not saying education doesn't do that. But
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: education don't wake you up in the morning. It's what
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: you dream and hope of becoming with the education that
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: wakes you up. It is your dream that causes you
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: to even get an education. If you want to fly
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: a plane and that's your dream, your dream will cause
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: you to do the things necessary to accomplish the dream.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: That's why I tell people educators in all, if we
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: spent more time talking to our children in our school
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: system about their dreams and visions, we could reduce the
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: dropout rate. But what we're doing is we keep talking
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: to kids about the education, and we're not talking about
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: the kids for the reason for the education. You gotta
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: get your education, because you gotta finish school. Finish school
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: for what we have. Got to take time out to
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: talk about their dreams and visions. I tell parents all
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: the time. If you're not talking to your kids about
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: dreams every ninety days, that's a mistake. Man, that's a
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: mistake because young people change more often than you think.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: But if you're not revamping your dreams every ninety days
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: as an adult, you're making a mistake because guess what
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: you change also now you know may not change as
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: often as your children because you become a little bit
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: more subtle when you're older. But you've got to refurbish
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: these dreams. You gotta dust them off. You gotta keep
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: reminding yourself or what the purpose is, because the dream
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: provides purpose. You wake up in the morning because of
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: what you dream to be. You get excited when the lawnclock,
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: get our goals off because of what you dream to be. Man,
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: don't let nobody fool you. Now, listen to me. I'm
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: gonna say this again. Education is important and it's critical
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: to certain things in life, but you can actually make
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: it in this world without one. Now, do you need
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: to have some basics under your belt? I strongly suggest
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: you do. And I'm not saying at all that you
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: don't need school, because you do. School offers you a
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: way to become well rounded. That's the thing that school
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: does for you, a great deal. It not only educates you,
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: It gives you social skills. It teaches you how to
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: be well rounded. It teaches you now to adapt. It
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: teaches you the tool of memorization. So I'm not knocking
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: it at all. But what I am saying to you,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: if you are like me in any way and you're
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: just not a school person, what you gonna do? You
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: can still be something. If you've blown your education opportunity
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: in life, you can still be something. If you just
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: don't feel like you can do school again, you can
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: still be something. Because the scripture says a man without
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: a dream or vision shall perish. I'm old the Bible
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: inside out. I don't know it. I didn't go to
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: theology school anything, so I can't quote it like people
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: can oftentimes. But I don't really don't recall ever going
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: to Sunday School or any service I've ever been to
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: and read a scripture about how necessary your education was.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: But I have seen repeatedly that a man without a
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: dream or vision shall perish. See the reason you'll die
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: without the dream of the vision, because without the dream
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: of the vision, you'll give up hope. You've heard so
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: many people say, keep hope alive because it's necessary. The
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: dream vision. What you see for yourself, your hope for tomorrow,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: that impossible thing that nobody else can see except you,
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: that thing that floats around in your imagination, that keeps
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: pushing you to make you think that's something out there
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: other than this. For me, if you wake up in
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: the morning and you keep saying yourself mad, that's got
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: to be more to my life than this. That's cause
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: it is. That's because it is. Your visions and dreams
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: are out there. And let me tell you something else.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: You got to make your dreams and visions so big,
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: so big that it causes you to overcome all of
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: your fears. See, the fear of failure is the number
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: one cause of failure in this country, because people are
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: afraid to fail. But you have to have dreams and
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: visions so big that it just overcomes all of your fears.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: You've got to want something so big, so dynamic to
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: happen in your life. Man, that you've got to make
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: this happen, and the fear is secondary to all of it,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: and it will cause you to push through. You've got
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: to dream of something so outstanding that an order for
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: it to have to in order for it to happen,
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: you absolutely have to have God's help. If you're dreaming
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: of only stuff that you can accomplish yourself, I got
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: news for you. You ain't dreaming big enough. Start dreaming big.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: Increase your dreams. They would change your life. It would
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: change your perspective, It would cause your hope to grow.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: All right, those are my closing remarks. All right, Steve,
