- Charles: Welcome everybody. Good evening. This is ⁓ Charles Barfield. I'm your host here for Kingdom. And you know, we're got a lot going on with America on Kingdom Revelation tonight. We're gonna be talking about something that's very dear and important in America culture here, and that is mental health. There's so many Americans dealing with mental illness and how it affects our economy, our way of life, our families. And I wanna start this ⁓ broadcast with spiritual foundation. Because many of you sometimes you want to throw in the quit tower. You want to give up. You feel like suicide, depression, just just giving all up on your families. And I'm here to tell you that God is real. Jesus Christ is real and He will hear you. You're not invisible. It's not hopeless. You can't give up. Seek those that can help you. But When no one's around, all you have to do is to be sincere and pray to Jesus Christ. Just ask him to enter in. Enter in and pray. And when you believe what you pray, he will answer you. And the the Bible says we've all seen and come short of the glory. The only thing God wants us to do is to be genuine and sincere, because he can blot out and forgive us but not most of our sins. Christ, Jesus Christ, the resurrected Savior will give, forgive you of all your sins. If you just confess with your mouth the Lord God Jesus and He will erase all your sins. And some some of you may be thinking, Well, God can't love a sinner like me. I did criminal stuff. I did violent stuff. I've seen, I've done wrong, I've done evil. Nope. God is such a gracious God. He's such a good God that he can. forgive and will forgive us of all our sins. And it and don't matter what the devil tells you, God will raise all of our sins. Instantly. As soon as we confess. And the good thing about God, he puts him in a seal for give forgiveness. And he would never bring up our sins. And it's covered on the blood of Jesus Christ by faith. And that's why I encourage you, I know that economy sometimes is very difficult. Some of you may have a elderly parent, particularly in Florida, and even all over the states of the United States of America. You may feel like it's overwhelming ⁓ being the sole provider, healthcare surgeon for your family member, for your granny, for your grandpa, or whatever, or even your own child. Some almost have every childhood born with medical complications and de and challenges and defects and medical challenges with the insurance companies fighting. You have to fight and walk the insurance company being to take care of your loved ones and you feel like suicide and just just doing extremely crazy stuff. You can't do it. My brother, my sisters, you know, you can't allow a temporary situation to make you do something permanent. When you can't come back from it. So you need to get with a person that believes, that has a faith conscience, or get some counseling. God will send people to you to help you, but you gotta be willing and able. But I want to say, give you some Bible authority. In Psalm thirty four, verses seventeen and twenty, the word of God says this. And this is now going to my commentary, barfield on the mic. When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them. Out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and save the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones, not one of them is broken. That's God telling us that he's always there for us. There's always a way out, no matter how impossible life seems. God is there. He is wanting us to ask him to enter in and allow him to come in and give your situation a godly, divine fix that only God can do. God has no limitations. He is a sovereign, all power God. He is perpetual. He's everlasting. He can do anything but fail. LG, another scriptures that says, Blessed be the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in our afflictions, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's suffering, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. That's Corinthians first, first chapter, verses three ⁓ to five. And I'm gonna give you another script that says first chapter four, verses thirteen to fourteen. And it says, Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope, for we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. There is an end to this thing, brothers and sisters, that if we believe in Christ, you will be with the eternal father. If you after brother bodies be present with the Lord, the Bible says. Mental health and the conditions of mental health affects millions of Americans. And they have a profound consequence for families, schools, workplaces, healthcare systems, and the economy. Anxiety, depression. substance use, substance abroof abuse, disorder, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia are among the most common conditions. And and we need early intervention to improve access to this care. Support the workplaces and community engagement can reduce this suffering and economic losses. Approximately one in five US adults experience a form of mental illness. in one given calendar year. Many of our young people also report persistent sadness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges, barriers to treatment, including the cops, the provider, the shortages, the stigma, the lack of insurance, not having ability to pay for mental illness, mental health. People are suffering because they there's a stigma associated with mental health. People don't have no problem going to a doctor getting an antibiotic or getting any kind of treatment or prescription from a doctor, but there's a shame and there's a there's a ugliness associated with mental health in our American society as you you being weak or you are not strong or you're defective. No, mental health is the same as physical health. Any brokenness or unholeness, God wants us to be whole. Mind. Body, spirit, and soul. Women are generally diagnosed with anxiety and depression at a high race to men. But men have a higher suicide and mortality rate from depression and oppression. Our young people are dealing with mental health like they never did before. Lower income households face greater barriers because they can't afford to get the treatment. The racial equipment disparages this in diagnosis and treatment. Of certain type of illnesses, misdiagnosis, and the economic impact of mental illness contribute to hundreds of billions of dollars annually to health care, loss of productivity, after kidneyism, disability, and turnover rate in jobs. Employees are increasingly investing in the wellness program and employees' assistance program. So this is a economic cost, it's a real cost. suicide depressions. It is expensive on all levels, my brothers and sisters. And we have the guys to stop being shamed and putting mental health on the back burner. It's time to bring this suffering, this injury to the front burner. We see athletes, Olympic athletes, the professional sports figures that we love and admire. Who have a strong sense of mental accomplishment in their professional of their choosing, yet they have constantly come out publicly about mental health. Athletes like Kevin Love, the MBA, Dak Pricecard, Simone Bowes, Naomi Okasaka, Michael Phelps, Olympian, and recently ⁓ Tara Davis Woodhall. These are some great, amazing, world class. Athletes winning Olympic gold medals and in the middle of their Olympic competition, they are dealing with depression. So we're gonna talk about that. I'm gonna bring in now Brad Fink and we're gonna deal with some of these issues that affect ⁓ our American ⁓ society and all over internationally. So Brett, welcome to the show and how are you doing tonight? Doing well, doing well. Greg: It does. Pretty good, Charles. How are you doing tonight? I'm going to This is definitely, I think, a conversation that's needed and and needs to be continued on even after this show's over again. ⁓ Charles: Well, Greg, I we we tend it we will do those kind of cases, but any time we do a show of Kingdom Revelation, it's gonna be influenced with what God said, what he talked about. I always pray about what topics we need to deal with and those international topics, Iran and and Africa and whatever's going on in in in you know, politic, what whatever's going on, it's gonna be going on. But today I just feel struggle in my spirit that Greg: Exactly. Charles: somebody out there, if it's one person that we can help influence to agree. Put away a gun to put away some some medication to overdose or do something suicide. We need to take time out and I just want to be obedient to the spirit of God and and deal with this issue because I feel strongly about it in in my spirit. I know that everybody that exists him at some point has lost a loved one and a relative. Today it is is the birthday of my brother ⁓ a cliffer that died through the hands of medical negligence in Florida prison some years ago and I wrote a book about it called My Brother's Keeper. We'll talk about that one day in in in the future, but we deal with we had to deal with a lot of tremendous loss and losing my brother and the method and the manner of his death and the cover up. And ⁓ and I wrote that book, my b my brother Keeper to left Families know how to deal with grief, love from a spiritual standpoint because it was personal. ⁓ it was one of the most difficult things I had to do. It was very it's very transparent because ⁓ there was no boundaries in terms of the personal hardships that me and my family we had to endure with that with the medical loss of of of a doctor and and and and and the way that he died. It was just very difficult but through the grace and the goodness of God, we was able to, you know, get justice for our family. We went to eleven year trial. I was the lawyer ⁓ for my family against the the state of Florida, right out of law school. As soon as I was four and took the bar. A couple of days after my brother died, I became a lawyer, a licensed attorney. And ⁓ we we won two eleven year two trials in eleven years, like a three million dollar birth and then we Greg: Right. Charles: they appealed it and we ⁓ s ⁓ had a second trial, me five, and and then at the end of that eleven years my mom ended up dying. So she never got really, you know, chance to enjoy the victory because in that last year, you know, cancer was the thing that that knocked on her door and and took on the glory. Sooner than we were like, but God is divine and what God says gonna go. But the thing is is that You know, many times when I be doing my commentary and I meet people, they don't d sometimes people truth hurts people sometimes, Greg. You gotta deal with it. And so, but my my enemy is cancer, all types. My enemy is all kind of medical problems. My enemy is suffering of people's all over old old earth. I'm not personally involved with people and what they're doing or not doing. Greg: It was, yeah. Charles: I'm more about the spirits of God and against the spirit of evil. I'm against evil. We all got a lot of commonalities that I mean, just imagine that what we could do if we all stop being associated with political parties and have a humanity o about us. Greg: You know exactly. I mean yeah, I mean I I think it'd be great if we actually just had a society and actually had a commonality and humanity to where we could take away all the things that set us apart are driven by anger and hate and evil nature and everything else and just actually find a way to come together. I mean you know, I mean and that is a potty and a type looking at it. I get it. And that's, you know, maybe oversimplifying the ⁓ the complexities of the world and and I know that. But it will be better. And ⁓ I mean, especially when we're talking about medical issues and Medical treatment and medical research. I mean, my dad also d died in the last ⁓ year, actually I guess a year and a month ago, ⁓ medical malpractice at a hospital here in and where I live. And so and unfortunately I have no recourse, legal recourse at all about that, because I'm over twenty five and my dad was not survived by a spouse. And so that being said, I have zero recourse to ⁓ go after the hospital for the Something they did, they did apologize and they you know, they said what happened was wrong. But but that being said, I mean it's it it's a mess and and the thing is, you know, whether it be cancer or Alzheimer's or AIDS or a number of the terminal ill illnesses out there that people are all facing challenges of every day through their insurance or their medical care or their lack thereof on both. ⁓ you know, it's ⁓ depression and anxiety and all these different issues that you were talking about. in the beginning of this podcast are are things that are that are driving a lot of the people, you know, basically crazy because they're they're not they're not letting the Lord handle handle it. And and basically, I mean, and and yes, that's another oversimplification and everybody says, Hey you just give it to the Lord and and that'll be it. And I yeah, it's actually that simple really. I mean, but you have to actually do it with your heart. You don't just do it with your mind and just say here, you know, and just shelf it off in your mind. You actually have to to have a heart relationship with with the Lord in order to do that. And you actually have to, you know, be be be part of the ⁓ you know, part of the spirit of God. You had to have him in you and everything else in order for that to happen. And that's kinda, you know, where this whole part here of us turning away from evil and and you know, and getting away from that is actually a good thing. And people keep thinking it's just, you know, a cliche or just a talking point or or just something that people are doing in pop religion or 'Cause I know a lot of people ⁓ there's a lot of money in God and there's a lot of money in religion, there's a lot of money in all these different treatments. I don't really care. But there isn't basically personal sovereignty 'cause actually that way you know spiritually where your soul is and and where you're you're standing and you have your own autonomy and everything with that because you actually know that you're doing things for the right reasons and because you have the spirit guiding you and the Lord's hand guiding you. And so but whenever you you take your eye off of that and start doing everything on your own, then you start realizing that it's not gonna work out too good. I mean, I have I I have several vices of my own, so I'm not gonna be hypocritical here or anything like that. But I mean, at the same time, the challenges that I see that I see and I'm facing pale, pale in comparison to what so, so many people are going through every day. And I feel guilty or irritated with myself for even complaining about the stuff I have to deal with whenever I know that people are Having it so much worse. Charles: Well, Greg, ⁓ again we we talk about the some of these we talk about these issues privately but but we wanna put ⁓ on public display so that someone may make him and and again, my public condoles to your loss of your father and the method and manner he had. But you know, one of the things Greg: Exactly, yeah. Well yeah, that that was actually a funny thing. I I I didn't really mention I don't know if I legally should mention how it happened, but I'm gonna go ahead and throw it out there anyway. But that was a irritat he he was a horrible patient. He's a very cantankerous old man. He's very cranky and he always liked to ⁓ try to get out of the hospital bed and have a cigarette and a shot. And that that was ⁓ his thing. He's eighty years old. So he always wanted cigarettes. And, you know, he is used to smoking for quite a while and so or they didn't want to give him the cigarettes. They basically gave him too much medicine so he would go to sleep and not wake up and bother them. And so he woke up, got pneumonia, and died twelve hours later. And so, you know, they they they over they actually gave him the wrong medicine. Yeah, put him in that put him a little bit in too much of a deep sleep and ⁓ yeah. Charles: Well well, Greg, one of the one of the issues that you bring up that that's a problem in the state of Florida is that what you really talk about is, for those who don't know, it's Florida Statute seven sixty eight point sixteen. I know it like my social security number. And it's called the Florida Room for Death Act. And w it it says a lot of things, but essentially what the Florida ⁓ Room for Death Act basically says that if you have a relative ⁓ that passes away through medical degrees. If they're now a heir or child, natural child of yours and they're not twenty five years or younger, you don't have a claim. So if they're like twenty six years old or above, if the if the if if if the hospital or doctors in Florida was negligent, it doesn't matter if you don't have a surviving heir to suit. And and you say, Well well why would why that? Well, because the insurance lobby Greg: Right. Charles: in Florida and the medical and hospital associations, their lobby got together and in and and got with the politicians and they enacted this in the law. And it's a arbitrary and capracious number that they just came up with. And so meaning that the w in and I do a significant amount, particularly early in my career, you know, when I was in my twenties and thirties, I did a significant more medical things than I do now. And one of the reasons is is that, you know, first starting out after my brother's case, but the thing is is that the the one of the most hardest things I had as a young lawyer, even today when there are acts, negative acts where the per the person does not fit under the wrong for death statute. And let me put this in plain English. I remember earlier within three to five years of of being attorney. I had another case where a lady was visiting her relatives from Haiti and she was living in and and and and and visiting and she basically started staying here. And long story short, she was over over thirty you know, thirties or so. And somehow the the the apartment or the housing development didn't have a adequate sign up there about the r the retention pause and someone was driving her and she literally drowned, there was no barrier or fence up. But because she was over twenty, you know, in her thirties, they couldn't have it. And so you had that's a difference between zero damages and potentially multi millions that's if she was in her twenties, you know, you had a multi multi million dollar recovery. Greg: Course, yeah. Simple. Exactly. I had less gray hair. Charles: versus zero because you have a a wrong for Florence that seven sixty eight point seven that basically says that if you're a certain age, you can't bring a wrong for death claim. It just it it's it's really ridiculous. Greg: Yeah. It is. I mean and this and w when we talk about my dad. My dad's also the same guy that they dropped off the operating table four years ago before he died a in a different hospital. They had him on surgery for his ⁓ hip surgery and they literally I guess took a break and everybody left the room and he fell off the table and had a seizure on the ground. Wow. He actually rolled off the table. Three feet off the table. And the lawyer actually cut a deal with a hospital. So we've had some issues here with medical malpractice here in Florida. Yeah. And so it i i it it's tough. When you talk about the depression issues and everything else, and the depression that I saw with my dad with all the different pain and everything else that he was going through and my mom, she was dying at the time and she was having to watch her husband go through all that and and knowing that, you know, we have big mouths and so we we we we we put up a fight and now our lawyer kind of ⁓ didn't help us out at the end 'cause he he cut a deal with them, I guess, and we had not know that He did not conflict himself out because he was actually a lawyer for allegedly for ⁓ other people at the same hospital. That being said, you know, there's several other people out there who are going through this and and the depression and the anxiety and the stress that it brings upon them. And if we were not a good Christian family, we would have been handling it a lot differently. Charles: Well, Greg, you know, we many this this issue of depression is a big issue. And one of the Greg: Huge. I think it's the most addicting disease out there. Charles: Yeah. And not only that though, Greg, is that even pastors who faith based pastors who love God, who's holy, meaning with God. I personally is dealing with the the congregation, all the dealing with everybody else's burdens, it is difficult and they're depressed and it's not spoken like it are. So every so many people I don't know Greg: Definitely. Charles: I will give you the clinical st numbers that are studied is you know as a poster, sometimes the the data you get is based on the authenticity of the poster giving giving you the information, right? And that's what that's what I was quoting earlier. The the the data of these most recent reports. But I personally believe we all do where our society is driven and with the cut in me and the gas price and uncertainty, financial uncertainty, that it's everybody's more stressed out. with things ⁓ th th than they used to be. But this can contribute to family instability, homelessness, education challenges, substance misuse, you know, ⁓ people stretched out determined alcohol and drugs and dangerous stuff. D this become a strain on the economy, a strain on the family, emergency services that have to go and and and come to homes and residential home. It also packed the criminal justice system. So it's a big multi-billion dollar economic strain on the economy, on businesses, on families. So it's a fiscal, it's a mental challenge, it's a fiscal challenge to us. So how do we fix this? Greg: One thing I I I've been bringing this up the last few months to a lot of people I know. I think the most addictive and the most contagious rather condition out there is anxiety. I mean, imagine imagine having anxiety and believe me, everybody around you gets it. Everybody around you gets depressed or everybody else around you gets anxiety. Well and that's the th that people don't realize in their narcissistic manner. People that suffer are who are narcissistic people who are self centered people who just think it's all about them. not do not realize that their behavior is affecting every single being dog, cat, human, child, every single person around them or animal around them. I bring up animals 'cause they actually our dog actually gets cortisol levels going high or low based on people's depression or happiness in our house. And so his diabetes yeah his diabetes is actually affected. Our dog's diabetes is actually affected in the past from ⁓ from people being depressed or n or not depressed or ha or happy. And so and the thing is on the flip side of that, happiness is also very addicting. And so and so w w when whenever it's also very contagious. And so w whenever, you know, your behavior is so down and so depression driven, anxiety driven, it's not just you you're affecting. You're affecting your children. You're affecting your partner. You're affecting your your brothers and sisters. You're affecting your parents. And so be b because it it all it all, you know, funnels through to everybody around you. And the when you just said the the pastors who are hearing everybody's problems and hearing all their issues and everything else and they have to internalize all that. Exactly. It's affecting them and it's affecting their wife and their children as well. And so, I mean, basically the biggest way to handle all this is to I mean, and this is me being a another Pollyanna statement here or oversimplification statement, but you know, j just just grip it. You know, j just just f talk to God, you know, and and and find some sort of ⁓ internal strength, you know, in in that way. I mean, I have had so much facing me financially and professionally and medically with my my dad and everything else. Me, I got blessed. I I was a four hundred and twelve pounds last year and I was going the wrong direction with my depression and and eating and eating because I was, you know, being a caretaker for my father and overcompensating for depression and anxiety. And I was diagnosed as being bipolar as well, myself. And I had a lot of depression Diagnosis. But then I started losing weight. And I lost 230 pounds in a year, which granted is more than most people do. And so and so that's not normal. So I don't expect anybody to think that's an that's gonna happen to them either. That's I think it's gonna happen to me. But the thing is, is that it it you know, in order to do that, you have to find a a ⁓ a center point, a target psychologically and and ⁓ spiritually and and focus on that. And if you don't focus on that, if you don't have a a target or a or a center mass to to focus on spiritually and psychologically, then, you know, you're you're going the wrong direction. And yeah, it's easy easier said than done. I get it. Because, you know, everybody can just say, ⁓ yeah, you know, d just read the Bible and that will d i it's not about reading the Bible, it's about internalizing the Bible. It's about internalizing the verses. It's actually about, you know, feeling the you know, actually understanding it and realizing what it actually means. to your life and to the path that you're on. Yeah. And and when you don't get that, you're just gonna ⁓ you're not gonna get a grip on it. You're not gonna get a handle on it. Charles: Yeah, and I and I I'll vi I'll advise people that listen to us is that we it's not it it the Bible say it all I get to get understanding. And sometimes we people don't really you you go to church all the time and you don't really understand what the preachers and the elders are telling you, but you have to operate on on on on build upon what you do know. Like you have to take a scripture and live that scripture. Get understanding. You gotta ask questions. Ask people Greg: Ask questions. Charles: And don't never be ashamed to k to ask questions. Just like the the people who make the best grades in school wants to ask a zillion questions. You know what I mean? And so it's always the cake, the victorials and salutatorians in high school, and they ask all the questions. And most of us wanna know the answer to the question they asked. So listen, it's always more than one person that wants the answer to your question. Greg: Yeah. Charles: So ask questions from doctors, from preachers, from from faith-based people, for non-faith-based people. And I often believe too as a that I believe in spiritual faith-based a solution, but I also believe that you have to also go to a a a person or experts that you have to pay. Because sometimes that's you know I there's no one solution. I just want you to be whole in a godly way. So go get help. Don't be afraid to get help, you know what I mean? Greg: No se report. Charles: And it but but you you you do need ⁓ the problem w a lot of times that I counsel people, you know, as a as a elder authority ⁓ or you know, anointed one of God. And I have literally been blessed and privileged to for people to go like three or four o'clock in the morning to take their loved ones, their spouse off life support. I've been there over and over again as a minister of gospel for people. Greg: Could be Charles: the the the the the take the plugs off so they loved one to go on that's a privilege and honor to for someone to trust in you to to be there at their most time. And so I I've experienced a lot and saw a lot in in this capacity ministerial. So the thing is though is that but after your loved one go on that depression can sit in. I feel the funeral and I write about it in my book about Greg: Exactly. Charles: after the funeral where you really need family and friends and your faith-based people and co co-workers or whatever, if you really love some people, you gotta really, it doesn't stop. The pain doesn't stop. Because you know, whenever you have a funeral, in fact, after the funeral is when you really need your loved ones, because it the reality of you not seeing them anymore in this world, this that's when it just comes real. Greg: Да. Yeah. Charles: And that's when I advise people, and I write about that in in the book, My Brothers Keep with that. That's when you need your loved ones to really check on you. And we need to always check on someone. If you if you listen to this program, you don't have time to be mad and ticked off with your siblings and your y you know, your loved ones, your spouses. Time is short. Life ⁓ of season. Very short. You need to man up and woman up and apologize. And that burnt off of you. Greg: Exactly. Charles: Because you the worst thing I see as a lawyer and and you know, and as a preacher is that people mad at each other and they lose their loved ones and they won their own speaking term. That exactly that is the most difficult thing to live with because the reality of that when they going on the glory, you now realize how small you were. Okay, you had too much pride to say I was sorry. Greg: Exactly what I mean. Charles: Don't let your pride mess up and isolate you for decades because you wanna cook the turkey, you wanna cook the dressing and your sil your sister wanna do it. Little silly stuff. Greg: Yeah, I yeah, I mean a lot of it is over money. I mean, and and that's the thing is that and it it's not over a lot of money, it's like you five or ten thousand dollars or something like that, where families just like, you know, didn't get this piece here or some sibling didn't get this or some sibling didn't get that and they're all angry because they weren't left where they thought they were owed or or somebody didn't pay them where they thought w they were owed or something like that and a in and and and after a death of a family member and it's kinda like, you know, the the whole estate issue. just ends up wrecking relationships, wrecking families more than it ever should because it's like, you know, the when the person is ill, ailing and and dying, everybody's trying to be there for that elderly person or that maybe a young person or whoever it is that's having an issue and they're trying to be there and unify for that. But then after they pass away, they're like, Well, they're not here to judge me anymore. So who cares? You know, I mean and and and so I mean, no, I'm just gonna go ahead and be the jerk I wanted to be. Just didn't have the the guts to be the jerk, but now I'm gonna be the jerk. And and and so I mean or or however, you know, you want to look at it. But I mean it's interesting how it's here money or property or i or estates or something like something like that. ⁓ yes ends up wrecking relationships or all the egos and all the the the narcissism and and all the, you know, you know, it should have been me, it should have been me, it should have been this, it should've been that. And not realizing, you know, we're all in this together, just just get over it and let's move on. Charles: Yes, I I tell you, Greg, I you know, do a medical malpractice. What goes with that is before you can act to file a medical mal malpractice claim, you have to have an estate which is probate. So I do extensive amount of probate of regular so for almost twenty nine years I've been doing a lot of s ⁓ different stuff but but probate and and and and you know, wrong for death cases was kind of my my my main thing. But I can tell you I say quite see that that the war the war start sometimes great before the person is dead. I mean people my property. I o it's nothing that they work or earn for, but children become beastly insane before the parent is even dead, before the funeral. I mean I get calls about from different l loved ones all the way to warring. Greg: How to pull the plug or not pull the plug. Charles: Before the death. And then when the death is and the funeral's over with, ⁓ man, then it takes it to a a a a level of ridiculous that you can't even articulate. And I've seen it all. There's nothing surprising me in terms of probate law. I'm in litigation now with the most insane I think about four or five probate cases that they like crazy books, but it's real. But the the level of robbery. Greg: Right pretty good. Charles: that that that that everybody think that they are entitled to real property, ⁓ all kind of monies and funds and things of that nature and they just forget that they're that they have the same parents. I mean, you're brothers and sisters, but you're acting like enemies over money. I mean it just Greg: Yeah, I know. And we're not even talking about a lot here. I mean a lot of these guys are they're they'll be I mean, we we we see people suing people over like two thousand dollars or like small claims court amounts or something like that. I mean, it's ⁓ it's just trivial and sad. Charles: Yes. Yes. It'd be it'd be it'd be that it seemed like the smaller the the amount of money that is the greater the and in in the in in in the warfare ⁓ for that. But when you have the state a fluent state, ⁓ I wouldn't say it is actually better, but you kinda can understand it when it's more flu more there to fight for. But like but to your point, ⁓ you can have a little or nothing and sometimes it just Greg: More. Charles: People fight over dogs and and and and and the family dogs or or pictures or or or s ⁓ you know, stuff that they're emotionally tied to that really has no real monetary value. They'll fight for that forever. Greg: Yeah, I know. And so I mean, you know, that being said, it all circles back to the whole depression issue and anxiety and that's, you know, I mean, I think ⁓ I guess probably missing the point here that to me I think the biggest point is ⁓ what we said on the show before is Satan's author of confusion. I think Satan's also the author of depression. And so I mean you know, I mean and once you start getting your life going the right direction. I mean I've I I I've had a lot of you know, I have a lot of teenagers. I've raised a lot of kids. And I I've been involved, you I eleven children actually eight children and eleven grandkids, so I've been around quite a few of a a few litters of children and teenagers. And also I was a very involved in the youth ⁓ groups and everything else growing up and so and one of the biggest things I always saw people talking about suicide or talking about depression or talking about loneliness and everything else and and I just kept telling and I'm not the I'm not gonna be a hybrid or a big zealot here saying I'm most religious and I'm not, but I do have my My beliefs and I do have my strong values and they're not they're not really challengeable and nobody can really get me off of them. But ⁓ but you know, the biggest thing I always realized for my depression issues and my mom, she taught me this a long time ago, my dad did too. But just get into the Bible. You know, the Bible will solve your depression. It really will. I mean, if you don't believe me, try it. Try it out. It it does work. I mean, it works pretty Pretty good. And and and and if you actually start getting into there and start reading the the parables and the stories that the Lord has put in these wonderful sixty sixty six books and you actually talk about all the different things and and learn about all the different things that that have, you know, made us you know where where we want to be and where we wanna go. And and l looking out all the paths that the Lord has laid out in the Bible. And and you're right, you didn't need to talk to professionals, but I I always try not to talk to secular for I I Did talk to some secular ⁓ consult ⁓ counselors when I was growing up and they were not good. They they they're just trying to give me medicine or give somebody else medicine or anybody medicine for depression. And ⁓ and their focus was more based on man made ideas and Charles: I I I my point is I believe that there needs to be there's not I think for for for people who know God, we know that the Lord heals. We know that the words used work. And it works. But if you never grew up on the word you don't know, I ask the people to get a relationship with them. But if you don't have a relationship with God, start one. But in the interim Greg: It doesn't work. ⁓ Work. Charles: Go to a prepaid professional. You in other words you have to get to someone who knows greater than you. Okay? Exactly. Because it d the situation will overtake you if you don't ask for help. The worst way exactly. So you exactly AI does not help you with that one kind of situation. Greg: Good your AI either. Tries. They try data. I've actually tested it out and AI is actually trying to give me advice on counseling. I just ask a server questions. Very scary why. Like a really licensed psychologist, psych psychiatrist. I mean, AI, you know, for what it is, you know, it's crazy and it's kind of weird. But people are actually using AI for their psychological help. Don't do it. Don't. Charles: Well, Greg, let me let me ask you one blink because I know you mentioned ⁓ solution in terms of faith based, but I'm more concerned with everything we'd be including the atheists. I want everybody to be here. So what did you do? One, two, three, if you got more than three things, what I I like to be a practical solution based person, not a theory based solution person. So what did you do so that to help the people that listen to us, like number one, number two, number three. What are the three things that you did to help you out of your d depression? Greg: the things first of all I'm a musician so I started ⁓ you know writing music again and playing music and and so I s I got into that. I got you know I I fixed a lot of relationships, personal relationships that were being toxic and I got the toxicity out of them. But and when I got to the the the ⁓ and but I'll start out ⁓ I started reading a lot of Job and in in the Bible and ⁓ just and just basically just just you know listening to different types of music that are more religious base and everything and so Christian music and stuff like that and and just ⁓ you know just reading random I I haven't really read any I guess one two three is not really much of a one two three, I'm more of a one through five kind of guy. And so I mean I didn't read any specific thing in the Bible. I do like Revelation. ⁓ and so I I I read a lot of just random stuff in the Bible, wherever the Lord tells me to read and so nothing really structured at all. I'm not a structured person, although I probably should be but ⁓ But you know, whene whenever I I got into the word and got back into my music and and writing and everything and then doing the the the podcast actually really helps a lot and just start you know, 'cause, you know, I am a pollster and I've done a lot of polling and and direct mail and I'm you know, an added world, ⁓ a advertising world and the ⁓ learning world. And so that being said, when I like to find solutions. I like to I don't like to hear about what people can't do or I always get very irritated about what people don't want to do. I don't really care about what you don't want to do. I don't I care about what you do wanna do and what you do want to accomplish. I wanna hear about the cup being half empty. And so whenever I approach everything with the cup that's half full, and no matter how much things get thrown at me, the the Lord and I pray to him hours and hours a day. And and and without his guidance, without his leadership and without his basically putting things in in the right positions for things to work. You know, nothing nothing's gonna happen. And so you know, a lot you know, when you say ⁓ how'd I do it one, two, three, ⁓ there is I don't have a way of doing it one, two, three. Mine is a very eclectic way of of doing it because I I was blessed and I I did have a background in religion. I I was great I r did w I was raised in church and a Christian school and a family of preachers and so I mean I I and you know, I have been playing music for forty years. So my my take on how to handle it It's probably gonna be different than a lot of other people's 'cause my my ⁓ reservoir of of background is is a lot different. And so but ⁓ biggest thing the big the biggest thing is having the Lord lead ya. Charles: Well you don't really Yeah, exactly. But you know, I I I do find it ⁓ very ⁓ very enlightening that you use the things that you knew that was close in proximity to you, which a lot of times the things that are close to us we don't recognize when we in our exact when we travail. When we are injured, we are hurt, we're vulnerable, we don't recognize our deals. We we're Greg: Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. I mean, there th th there's so many and that that I I'm a very solutions based person and and I don't like to delve or dwell or live in the world of failure or being a failure and you know, you know, be you know, this financial year is has been a really rough year with my with it with everything that's happened 'cause I more or less took two and a half, you know, three years off of work paying being a caretaker to my dad. And so it was ⁓ it was a a very big ⁓ wake up call, especially whenever we're Yeah, people keep saying, ⁓ he was eighty years old, he was gonna die. I'm actually he he was actually just given a pretty good clean bill of health. I mean, he went to the hospital for a routine procedure and he ended up dying. And so I mean, you know, I mean i it was a very, very, very weird ⁓ chain of events, but the Lord provided and the Lord, you know, it it happened on his time clo on his time clock and so as much as I was depressed and angry and upset and my dad was my best friend, by the end of the day it's it's ⁓ it was the Lord's will on how everything happened. And me understanding that although I didn't want to, and me having everything at my fingertips to to to to succeed emotionally and psychologically. It was really good. People don't realize they have so much at their fingertips. I mean, and and this is actually the good thing about AI and computers and technology is that you have so much resources to where if somebody says that they don't know how to reach somebody, they don't want to know how to reach somebody. If they if they don't want to get out of their their depression or out of their funk, they don't want to get out of it because the Bible is everywhere. God is everywhere. Friends that are not toxic are everywhere. You know, I mean y you have an ability to go out there and on your own and through the Lord, which the Lord's not gonna turn anybody away. And so I mean, y you have the ability to do that. Yeah. And there's more than enough avenues media wise, any other medium that you have to where if you don't know how to do it, then you you don't wanna know, in my opinion. Yeah. Charles: Yeah. I think that I agree. I think there has to be an intentionality about peace. You gotta want it. You you have to invite God in and he he's willing and waiting for us just to intentionally invite him in and he'll give us the Holy Ghost fix. But you know Greg: Yeah to one too. Yeah, yeah, but could you yeah, could you talk about athletes and and I I ha I there's musicians and me being a musician, I mean the musician world is huge, hugely peppered with people who are depressed and that's the reason why they write a lot of really crazy deep songs. But you know, and and they still stay depressed. And and so but and so I've seen that in being a theater, like I was in theater for like five or ten years and in an opera and music. I've been playing music for and play six or seven instruments and doing that for forty years. And so I I've seen a lot of the behind the scenes stuff and that's ugly. About how people just need to get out of it. And and once they find the their their ⁓ their light and their their compass and their moral compass and their rhythm their spiritual compass, it goes a lot better. Charles: Yeah, yeah, and I think that a lot of times too, even even in Christian faith based ⁓ churches a lot of musicians that that just into the music and they just play Greg: It was Exactly. Exactly. Charles: they they end up smoking and getting into drinking and all that kind of stuff. It get that leads to all kind of things. But we're gonna talk about that at the end of the program or ⁓ short ⁓ we deal with the athletes spotlight, but we'll come we're gonna circle back to that. But ⁓ I want to ⁓ talk about ⁓ some non faith based solutions so that everyone on some of our voices can can get help. One of the things that that's important is that we as society we have to expand access to affordable mental health care. we have to integrate mental health into primary care. There's so many insurance companies that don't provide mental health in the primary coverage. And so what happens is that people don't get the stages of care we didn't really need it. Until they years down the road with denial and hostility towards the insurance company getting approval, appealing that and and people still not getting help. Because by the time they do approve it's two or three years later, now you y now your condition is way harder, more expensive to treat. You know, so I think we gotta quick yeah, and I think that we gotta improve, you know, workplace wellness centers and and I think corporations, companies doing a better a real good job with well wellness centers and and a and and and co pain and someone ⁓ hundred center pay for that. ⁓ Greg: It was really cool. They are yeah. Charles: to hell ⁓ the against diabetes and all kinda other things and so. So I think I think the companies I I usually jump on a co corporation for doing a lot of taking and not giving, but they do generally do a pretty good job with this programming in my in my view. But you know, we also need to increase crisis intervention resources. We d and and above all, gr we have to reduce the stigma through public education. Greg: No, no. Charles: So so we can support families in kicker gear. Yeah, we're gonna and I know particular it it's a bad thing in the African American community that a mental health illness is viewed in a very negative or disdainful, distasteful way. And that should not be. I'm not I don't know why it's I i i it is part of our culture thing, but we want to be very transparent here because I want people healed, fixed, and blessed. Greg: ⁓ Yeah, 'cause I mean, people don't realize, especially in the wellness side the workforce. I mean, the the mental health leads to your physical health as well. I mean, I mean your your your diabetes and your heart disease is caused by you overeating and it is caused by you ⁓ binge eating or having like eight cups of coffee a day instead of three cups of coffee a day or or basically, you know, when you're at the workplace and you don't have time to eat healthily or in a healthy manner, you're like just grabbing fast food or grabbing, you know, snacks or grabbing candy bars and so and then that that mental depression that you're into that that causes all that binge eating turns into diabetes and turns into heart disease and turns into other issues here. So I mean fixing it from the front end is gonna end up fixing it on the back end. Charles: Exactly, exactly. Now, you mentioned ⁓ some of this, but I've already just given now these ⁓ the solution I gave wasn't necess not necessarily faith-based. These specifically are faith-based perspectives o about how people that that can help themselves. And you mentioned the first one I will talk about is prayer. The instrumentality of prayer is our instant engraved weapon that God has gifted us with. through prayer. And if you believe in prayer, it can change situations, circumstances, include depression, oppression, anything or anxiety. Prayer is that first step. The other thing is worship. You have to worship God in spirit and truth. And you got to sing songs of Zion. You got to when it don't feel good, you got to speak the word and the truth of God over your situation. Even if you don't until you believe it, you gotta speak it. Because when we put stuff, Greg, in the atmosphere through faith, it has power. And so w and we got to learn to trade our tongues, not to release negative foolishness out of our mouth, regardless of how we it look it could be real at times, but you want to speak what God says. And when you speak what God says, it's got to line up the spiritual mind with what God said. So in other words, I'm saying It don't matter what it looked like and what God said it should. Should be that I have a lot of caution. ⁓ Exactly. You know, we both we well me we all do that at times, but you have to be more disciplined to speak what God says, even with w when it don't seem like what God is saying. But you gotta speak it at in faith. And and think about it, we gotta also gotta not just prayer, not just worshiping God, but we gotta be supportive in our faith communities. ⁓ all faith based community we gotta for support each other, check on each other, ⁓ don't forget about people who going through. ⁓ we all need each other. We gotta be our brothers keepers, our sisters keepers. And the biggie great forgiveness. We gotta first forgive ourselves. The biggest thing where people have unforgiveness is they can't forgive themselves. And the devil makes you think, ⁓ I did this and I did this so This I was so horrible person. You may have but when you when God forgives, he's not like man. He forgives and he forgets about it. He doesn't bring it up. When when God forgives us, he puts us in a sea of forgiveness and he is is covered on the blood ⁓ of Jesus. And and Greg, most people think that, well, I've done something so bad, I can't even pray. I can't no. That's the devil lying to you. There's nothing you can do that God won't forgive you if you just say it and repent of it. So we gotta tell me to feed us. Yes. We gotta believe it. And ⁓ and also, you know, Greg, we listen, it's okay to have a faith based support that but it should complement, not replace professional mental health treatment. Because some people We're giving you faith-based solutions, but we don't have no degrees in psychiatrists. Now I deal with a lot of mental illness within my capacity as a lawyer when I'm dealing with ⁓ certain kind of cases that have ⁓ mental health issues involved with them. ⁓ I've been on both sides of mental health kind of thing in the capacity of law giving psychological evaluations and dealing with psychiatrists and psychologists for certain reports and and litigation for decades. So ⁓ I have a me afterward, but at the same time, I'm not an expert in mental health. And we just give you our our belief of what has helped us. So I'm saying go get professional help if it's needed. If you can't afford it, go to faith based of clergy and people you trust. Don't go to a crook or someone that's not anointed or appointed by God or self-appointed themselves as a clergy that God not really called them. Use discernment Use your wisdom. But there's a lot of vulnerable people that put themselves in ministry and God didn't put them in there. So make sure you go and get treatment from the right people. And we gotta reduce this isolation and encourage people to seek the appropriate ⁓ care. Now, ⁓ anything you wanna add on that, Greg, before we start circling back to our ⁓ alphabet ⁓ athlete in terms of our poggy section. Okay. Now this is what we call our poggy section, the power of God is. Greg: Good. Charles: Now I mentioned earlier in in my commentary, we'll see world class athletes such as Olympian long jumper, Tara Davis Woodhall recently spoke publicly, Greg, about experience depression and anxiety leading up to her competition. In the middle of her competition, she was so the capacity to win and to win goal matters makes you mentally a certain kind of way. And then we we'll see. Yes. And they're world class athletes. So yeah. Yeah, it don't seem like they go together, but yet she's in the middle of winning and winning a gold medal and she's depressed and a a and had got anxiety. So I'm saying that to let everybody know that if this is a world cap athlete, the Cowboys part of it that Prascott talked about that w world champion in in terms of ⁓ Simone Byers, I think the greatest gymnast ever existed. I think one of the greatest women athletes ever, Simon Bayers. Naomi, Okisac. Mm Michael Phelps, the great Olympian, won out how many Olympics he won a different Olympics. You know, Kevin Love, the national NBA ball player that had an issue some years ago. ⁓ Dak Prescott again. So these are world class multimediate dollar athletes. Talking about having depression, Greg, is in the middle of their life-changing movie. So if they are experiencing depression and mental ⁓ situations in in the movie, it can happen to you. It can happen to everybody. Doctors, lawyers, surgeons, police officers. Greg: That can happen to you. It doesn't matter who you and that that's the reason why I say it's so contagious. It doesn't matter who you are. I mean it's the most contagious disease out there. It's depression, anxiety, because it's you the devil's everywhere and the devil the devil's the author of it. And and and w whenever you get that that internal fight of like you know, you're you feel you feel defeated or you feel down or you feel beaten up or and you just can't go any farther. You just can't go the next step. Yeah. Charles: No i Yeah. Yeah. And and I I will say this, Greg, is I just want everybody to listen to us don't never do anything to take your life like suicide. Don't let that level. ⁓ Greg: I mean and I I'll go ahead and say it on the I mean I I I attempted it twice when I was a teenager and it was, you know I failed obviously. And my my depression level was a very high level. And ⁓ I mean, you know, it was I was going through a lot of stuff when my mom was disabled and everything. And and and there's a lot of people who thank goodness, thank the Lord, did not succeed at it. And don't you know that that's actually one thing you can be a failure at. Please, please be a failure at that. And so never ever try to take your own life. Charles: Yes, it's like it it it won't last. Whatever you're dealing with, brothers and sisters, it won't last forever. It everything is a season. It's a seasonal based situation. It's a seasonal based circumstance. So you don't want to do nothing to cause your own life because that's a permanent reality versus a a change situations can change and circumstances can change. Season change. And so you don't want to do nothing. ⁓ that's gonna be inconsistent with God. God does appreciate a lot. ⁓ you know, suicide is not a godly thing. ⁓ on portrait of those ridiculous coats that say otherwise. ⁓ God is the owner and creator of our bodies. He has final domain authority over us, including our soul as we 'cause to be asked for the bodies to be, you know, present with the Lord. And so ⁓ we just want you to seek help, get help. Exactly. ⁓ Greg: Yeah. Charles: From for whatever whatever legitimate means. Don't be too proudful to say I need help. Because people cannot always discern or be a mind reader. You have to be able to let your pride and your guard down. Brother, I need help. Free and I need help. Yeah. You have to you have to put the mas take the mask off that you always got together and just seek help. Greg: You say us a emotionally. Charles: from the appropriate person so that they can help you go to where you need to go to get help. Okay, 'cause we want you to be fully functionally, emotionally, spiritually, and wholeness in in totality. God is a God of wholeness. You know, he doesn't he want you to be, you know, ⁓ financially, he wants you emotionally, he wants you spiritually. He wants you the Bible said, Beloved, I wish above all things That you prosper and be in health, even if your soul prosper. So soul prosper, that that's wealth, and that's health. So you keep that's all prosperity. That's what the got down what the word of God said. That's one of my favorite scriptures, Greg, because it covers everything. You know, beloved, I wish you above all things that you prosper and be in health. Even if your soul as your soul prosper. So God has declared us that He wants to prosper in all areas of our life to be whole. So ⁓ but this is a subject matter that we'll be dealing with in the future. ⁓ we can't, you know, deal with this complicated issue ⁓ in one show, but occasionally we will deal with it. And ⁓ Greg, I really wanna thank you ⁓ for being transparent ⁓ with the things that you went through. I I I ⁓ I wanna also wanna commend you for being the the the sole caret taker of of your ⁓ of your father. Because my sister Karen, I wanna give her a a shout out. That's very difficult to be the single 'cause I ⁓ you know, I was at Aplach Cola and and my mom was in Aplachicola and my dad was ⁓ there and and my sister I I can't never repay her enough. There were times when I will I had a law firm to run and I would go there on the weekend ⁓ to give her relief and let her just go for the weekend. But she was there Monday through Friday, Greg. for year after year, you know what I'm saying? And people don't understand and she did it enthusiastically. Just it's hard to show up like that day day week after week going to this doctor, that doctor, going to multiple doctors. Greg: Right. Yeah, yeah. I yeah, I moved my dad in with me and ⁓ we lived together for the last two and a half years and ⁓ yeah, I mean basically I mean we're going to the doctor like at least once or twice a week. You know, and it's yeah I mean I mean I was going, you know, that's actually when I grew from my wonderful small weight at three twenty to to four twelve or four fifteen. And ⁓ a lot of it has to do with sleep as well, which actually had a lot to do with that. I was only sleeping ninety minutes a day 'cause my dad would sleep He'd take cat naps for like two or three hours a day. And whenever he then he tried to h see if he could get out of the bed and hop in the wheelchair and he usually failed. But he he'd always try at two or three in the morning. I was like, Hey son, where you at? And so basically yeah, there wasn't really any time for me to sleep whatsoever because it was like, you know, if I did fall asleep I had to wake up pretty quick and he might be on the ground. So I mean it's just Yeah. ⁓ Charles: Well like I said, ⁓ listen, I I give ⁓ primary health care providers like you and my sister Kara and and Lee of people in America and all the earth today. I'm not I'm not qualified to be that that's not in I'm not either kind of person. You know what I'm trying to say? I'm not either Greg: I'm not a nurturing person. Ask anybody who knows me. I'm a jerk. You know, I'm I'm I'm not a nurturing guy. I'm not a wonderful, long suffering person. I mean, I have all these kids and step kids and everything else, but my girlfriend, my partner, my you know, we've been together twenty some odd years and ⁓ sh she's a she's a nurturer. I'm not. And so I'm not. I'm not that kind of guy and so this is really out of my character whatsoever, but you know, is either that or put ⁓ in a nursing home and there's no nobody in my family has gone to a nursing home and you know, I'm the only one next and I'm not going to one. So Charles: Yeah, well this is a very yeah, this is a very important ⁓ subject matter, very sensitive. Yeah, w we will, we will. That's what that's what I'm saying. We will be dealing with this. ⁓ because it's such it's so much in the closet. I know if I'm a twofold as a as a minister as well as an attorney that both for my profession I see ⁓ and I know that it is way more ⁓ in numbers Greg: I need to talk about it again. Charles: affecting way more people than is really known. And it can very be Greg: In in our political world that we talk about a lot in the political world in the congregation world, I mean the amount of if people don't realize the reason why people run for office and the reason why they run for leadership positions, whether it be in politics or in religious circles or something like that, is because they're trying to create a avenue to do something better for their com ⁓ theoretically. If they're not trying to get rich off of it. If if they're the good people are doing it for the right reasons, they're trying to be public servants. either in the public affairs area or the religious area or in the music area or the athlet athletic area. You're trying to the serve the the community to a better place. You're doing that because you see so many problems in the community. You see ⁓ so much trouble and strife and and trials and tribulation. And a lot of that is all driven by depression and anxiety. I mean, in all reality here, none of the bad things that happen are driven by happiness. They're just not. None of the bad things that happen in society are driven by hope and goodness. No. They're driven by depression and I mean it is people to realize and break it down. Anxiety, depression, bipolar, you make depression, all the different, you know, axias, axis of that that world is what drives all the trouble that we see in society. And once again, not to be a dead horse here, but really comes back to Satan and and and that world, I mean, that's what's driving all the problems that we have to create solutions for. And people keep on trying to create solutions by vote for me and I'll do it. Or I'll do it. I'll do it. You know, put me in this Sunday school church or make me a science school teacher and I'll I'll lead this person. Or may give me a pastor position and I'll lead. People keep on saying I, I, I and they keep on forgetting that it's not you that's gonna do a daggone thing. It's you through the leadership of God or the leadership of you know, of your higher being, wh ⁓ whichever religion or denomination you're in. I mean if you're Jewish, ⁓ be Jewish or Islamic, then that faith. But I'm I'm personally a Baptist myself, so for me it be through God. And so I mean, but but i there's nothing you do on your own, period. If you get elected exactly, if you're taking a leadership position in a church or in a sanctuary or in public affairs or in in anything, you need to realize you're just a co leader. You're not the only leader. Charles: Right. Greg: You you're being led by a higher being or a higher sh or or a higher power. And w once you stop taking that leadership, it shouldn't be there. Charles: Exactly. Because I think that th th one of the things that God doesn't like is idolatry worship. He don't share his glory with no one. No one. And anyone that tries to assert themselves over God, you need to run from them. That's a cult. ⁓ but I I just want everybody to to to to to know that one of the things that people have a issue with, Greg, is, you know, sometimes you get ⁓ church hurt or your family, your blood relatives where you feel like Your parents took believing your siblings over you and you got the shaft, so to speak. And and and and sometimes that's true, sometimes it's not true. Because as you were saying earlier, the devil is is is a demonic. He's trying to divide us. And sometimes parents do the best they can. And sometimes the devil make us think mental things that our parents really what didn't mean. That that they just had deficiencies and imperfections as a parent. And and therefore We we started perceiving things that really wasn't the case, and yet we become adults and we become mentally messed up because we perceive some childhood trauma, right? And what I what I would say to people is that that God told ⁓ Jeremiah, before using your mother's womb, I knew you and I call you to be prophet of a nation. Translation is this: God knew us. And our parents are just stewards because when God allows us to enter earth, He's always has a flame, a promise, and a purpose for our life. And it's up to us to get in over alignment and obedience with him so he can tell us what we're supposed to be. Greg: Yeah. And I know we're going long here, but it's another frustration I have whenever I talk to people who are in their forties and fifties and they keep telling me the way they are now is because they were raised that way. I'm like, okay guys. After you hit eighteen, you know, you're on your own. And however you're raised, if you're raised in a bad manner, well, granted, I was raised in a good manner, so I guess I am the way I was raised. I was raised by two incredible parents and the Lord and everything is is awesome. But if you're were not and you were led on the other path and you haven't figured it out twenty or thirty years later, figure it out. And quit blaming your past or your childhood on that because you know, the path has already been provided for you by the Lord. All you gotta do is seize it. All you have to do is follow the Lord and take it. And and believe me, the path is not for you to be addicted to drugs or to be a a methad or to be shooting people in your forties or fifties. That's not the intended path. And if you want to keep blaming The way you're raised on on the way you are now, stop. Get over it. And I and and yes, sometimes you just do have to get over it and realize you're wrong. Okay. That's actually part of the ego thing that you're talking about earlier, the humility thing that people ha lacked so much of, is that y you're wrong. I mean, and it's okay to be wrong. And then after you realize you're wrong, start getting right. Charles: Yeah, you have to repent and realize that you're wrong. Exactly. And when you blame, you have to take ultimate and exclusive responsibility for your life as an adult. What your parents did or may not dump have done to you or for you as a as as a as a youngster, when you become eighteen or twenty one years old, it's time for you to start blaming your your mom, your dad, your everybody else. You gotta look at that man or woman in the mirror and say that it's up to me to take the men. Greg: Yeah, Charles: and a spiritual authority over my actions, over my life, and be accountable and responsible for what type of citizen you want to operate in in the earth. That's all us all of us, individuals. Greg: I mean exactly 'cause if you're abused as a child or or something happened to you as a child and that's horrible. But you know, and I'm not making any light of that whatsoever. But at the same time, the Lord is still there to to to to carry you through that. And and and professionals are also still there to carry you through that. The biggest thing is you have to wanna carry yourself through that and stop stop dwelling on all the bad stuff and all the anxiety driven stuff and all the evil stuff that happened to you. And a lot of things a lot of people were blessed or abused or beaten or I mean and and that's horrible. But that's not an excuse fifty years later for you being that way. It's a it's only an excuse if you are too lazy, in my opinion, emotionally and spiritually lazy, to where you're not willing to go ahead and stand up and give your heart to God and give your life to God or go the right direction. And and ⁓ make it make it better. Now if you want to live like that, if you want to dwell on that and that's your that's what defines you as dwelling on that and making that be your thing, then don't be surprised if you're having trouble. You know, don't be don't be shocked whenever y y you can't figure it out. Charles: Yeah, one thing about it, Greg. Yeah, one thing about it what people need to understand that you cannot change the past, but you can change and influence your future. You have to take your name and authority over and move forward. So I I I I agree with that. But again, this is something that we'll be dealing with in the future. And ⁓ I wanna thank you, Greg, ⁓ for being here tonight and talking about this very sensitive ⁓ subject matter. And I will say to everyone on sound of my voice, walk in power. Greg: Yeah, Charles: Walk in the spirit of the Lord, I pray for you, you pray for me, and we'll pray for each other and watch God. And ⁓ to keep on following us and good night and always Greg: Yeah, follow us now. We're on we're on a lot of different platforms here. Charles' show here, Kingdom Revelations, is on ⁓ YouTube. Charles: Or the cold. ⁓ Greg: That's pretty cool. Oyster Cola. Ever heard of Oyster Cola? It's kinda like Pensacola. Yeah. Charles: You know I actually I thought about that company man when I was ⁓ in the seventh grade and I played Chicago. Greg: That's awesome. ⁓ so say, okay, Apple Agricola. Okay, now I get the colour then. Charles: Yeah, that's right for Apple Code. So that Orster is Orchester is king of the seafood Appalachian Code. Exactly, yeah. So that's what I that's a that's what I came. Greg: That's where you get his huge sand dollar oysters or raw oysters are really good. Really, really good. Anyway, but yeah, and so yeah, yeah, yeah.
