- 1:04Speaker 1: Habit is what keeps you going. Please work with the
- 1:07Speaker 1: Money Making Conversation Masterclass. Obi Obaidik. How you doing, Obi?
- 1:12Speaker 2: What's going on with Sean, thank you for having me
- 1:14Speaker 2: on your show again.
- 1:14Speaker 1: My brother, Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is
- 1:18Speaker 1: what keeps you going. Talk about that.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Absolutely. You know, the hardest part is getting into the gym.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It's just it's just getting in there and then and
- 1:32Speaker 2: then I think that once you get in there and
- 1:35Speaker 2: you exercise, you start feeling good, and then I think
- 1:38Speaker 2: it's a lot easier to stay there. But the hardest
- 1:41Speaker 2: part is just getting your just making the effort and
- 1:44Speaker 2: driving there and just doing it. And then once you
- 1:47Speaker 2: start to do it, you start to start feeling the
- 1:50Speaker 2: benefits from it. Immediately, you get more you have more energy.
- 1:54Speaker 2: You know, there's so many positive benefits to it. But
- 1:57Speaker 2: the hardest part just get get getting there, you know.
- 1:59Speaker 2: And I think that's a problem in our society. We
- 2:03Speaker 2: use the excuse we don't have enough time. You have
- 2:05Speaker 2: twenty four hours in a day. Twenty four hours in
- 2:08Speaker 2: a day. You're telling me you don't have thirty minutes
- 2:11Speaker 2: or forty minutes to dedicate to taking care of your
- 2:15Speaker 2: health like exercise. You got enough time to brush your
- 2:18Speaker 2: teeth and take your shower, which is considered a hygiene.
- 2:21Speaker 2: You haven't got You got enough power. You got enough
- 2:23Speaker 2: time to uh to to do a nice little thirty
- 2:26Speaker 2: minute walk or get your get your get your steps in,
- 2:29Speaker 2: you know.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Right, And it could be that simple. But somehow what
- 2:33Speaker 1: what what I mean to ask you this question? What
- 2:35Speaker 1: do you think stops people? Is it? Is it? I
- 2:38Speaker 1: want to use the word laziness, but is what? What's
- 2:41Speaker 1: what do you think slows them down?
- 2:44Speaker 2: I think what slows them down is is I think
- 2:48Speaker 2: people have a problem of prioritizing it in their life,
- 2:52Speaker 2: like basically creating a time lit a time window that says,
- 2:57Speaker 2: this is what I have to do at this time.
- 2:59Speaker 2: You know, like you can't fit it in. You got
- 3:02Speaker 2: to create that time and then build your schedule around it.
- 3:07Speaker 2: And that's the problem. They don't prioritize it. And when
- 3:10Speaker 2: if somebody tells you, Rashan, if you don't exercise every day,
- 3:16Speaker 2: you know, three four days a week, and you don't
- 3:19Speaker 2: do that regularly and consistently, you will you know, you
- 3:24Speaker 2: will shorten your life and you'll die before you're sixty.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Most people will do it. Okay, imagine if you posed
- 3:31Speaker 2: it that way to someone, right, But people don't see
- 3:34Speaker 2: the immediacy of how important exercise forget the vanity aspect.
- 3:38Speaker 2: This is gonna save your life, your life. What happens
- 3:42Speaker 2: is that when people decide to want to do this
- 3:45Speaker 2: is because the doctor forces them to, because the blood
- 3:48Speaker 2: work says, oh my god, you're a mess by this time.
- 3:52Speaker 2: It's freaking too late, you know what I mean. So
- 3:55Speaker 2: this isn't forget the vanity aspect. This is going to
- 3:58Speaker 2: save your life. This is going to a lot. This
- 4:00Speaker 2: is going to reduce the risk of all of those
- 4:03Speaker 2: chronic health diseases that can come upon ourselves as we
- 4:07Speaker 2: get older, especially people of color like you and me.
- 4:12Speaker 2: I know I'm black and I know you black, So
- 4:13Speaker 2: we've got the same type of chronic, high risk chronic
- 4:18Speaker 2: health disease issues that come about for people of color.
- 4:22Speaker 1: We hear this speech all the time. You know, we
- 4:25Speaker 1: laugh at it, we joke around. We know we eating
- 4:28Speaker 1: greasy food, we know we putting salt on grids. You know,
- 4:32Speaker 1: we know it. But but somehow the jokey jokes got
- 4:37Speaker 1: to stop. And so that's why this is the second
- 4:39Speaker 1: time I brought Obi on the show. He's going to
- 4:42Speaker 1: be on my show every quarter because what I don't
- 4:44Speaker 1: want to do is when you're talking about money made conversation.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Master class gets what you got to have your health right,
- 4:49Speaker 1: You got to have a plan of action. And so
- 4:52Speaker 1: I want to bring him on here periodically just to
- 4:54Speaker 1: remind you this is this is food. This is the
- 4:57Speaker 1: health part of remind you, Hey, I don't feel like
- 5:00Speaker 1: you start feeling like it, do it? Set a short
- 5:02Speaker 1: playing short of set goal. Let's talk about short goals,
- 5:05Speaker 1: because that's what, like you said, some people can you know,
- 5:09Speaker 1: because the you know, people want a six pack stomach,
- 5:12Speaker 1: they won't oh, you know, they want muscles out of
- 5:14Speaker 1: the gym, want to look like the rocks, you know,
- 5:16Speaker 1: all that good stuff that really you know, I think
- 5:20Speaker 1: that the image of what you trying to get to
- 5:22Speaker 1: can really show you down, slow down to what you
- 5:24Speaker 1: can be. And the bottom line, what you're talking about, Obie,
- 5:27Speaker 1: is health. You're not talking about getting into some show.
- 5:32Speaker 1: You talk about just healthy living and longevity.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Correct, well, death definitely. Like I use probably a great analogy,
- 5:40Speaker 2: like you know in basketball, I'm a basketball fan. You're
- 5:42Speaker 2: a basketball fan, right, and a lot of times when
- 5:46Speaker 2: when a when you see a team that maybe say
- 5:49Speaker 2: they're down, you know, three to one in a series
- 5:52Speaker 2: and then what does the coach does. The coach does
- 5:55Speaker 2: what the coach tries to create for the team that says,
- 5:59Speaker 2: you know what, let's just take it game by game.
- 6:02Speaker 2: You know why, because the psychological aspect of how far
- 6:06Speaker 2: they are behind it will mess with you. You take
- 6:09Speaker 2: it game by game, small small increments. Forget you know,
- 6:14Speaker 2: we're down three one. Let's just take it one game
- 6:16Speaker 2: at a time, one game at a time. One get
- 6:19Speaker 2: the same thing with weight loss, same thing with your health, small,
- 6:23Speaker 2: small incremental goals. When you look at the big mountain
- 6:25Speaker 2: and see how far you have to climb, it can
- 6:28Speaker 2: be overwhelming and you're like, oh my god, that's too much.
- 6:31Speaker 2: But when you smocus on those, focus on those small increments,
- 6:34Speaker 2: those small, small, little milestones, all of a sudden you
- 6:37Speaker 2: start chipping away, chipping away, chipping away, chipping away. It's
- 6:40Speaker 2: no different than writing a book. If you ink a
- 6:44Speaker 2: major book publishing deal and they say this is how
- 6:46Speaker 2: much you're the fifty thousand word manuscript, you're like, oh
- 6:49Speaker 2: my god, that's too much. But the way that you
- 6:51Speaker 2: can psyche yourself out is just to focus focus on
- 6:54Speaker 2: a chapter, focus on small increments, you know, focus on that,
- 6:58Speaker 2: and then eventually what happened. Oh my god, I'm a
- 7:01Speaker 2: fourth en. I'm two fourth tenth, I'm three fourth tent.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm almost done. So when you look
- 7:08Speaker 2: at the whole thing once you got to write, you're like,
- 7:10Speaker 2: oh my god, this is overwhelming. It's no different than
- 7:13Speaker 2: exercising and trying to get in good shape. Small, small
- 7:17Speaker 2: milestone goals are good. You know.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Oh, I definitely know what I did this time over.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I went on my social and I let everybody know
- 7:27Speaker 1: I was interviewing them, and so I asked them to
- 7:28Speaker 1: send me some questions to ask you. So these questions
- 7:32Speaker 1: come from a fan base, and the very first question
- 7:35Speaker 1: is what is the quickest way to lose weight?
- 7:41Speaker 2: You know what? That's the question that everyone wants to ask. Oh,
- 7:44Speaker 2: zap it, No, I'm kidding, I'm everybody. But you know what,
- 7:49Speaker 2: when people say what's the quickest way to lose weight,
- 7:52Speaker 2: it's so funny because that's the society we live in
- 7:55Speaker 2: right now. Everybody wants it so fast and so quick.
- 7:57Speaker 2: But what I would just say is that the quickt
- 8:00Speaker 2: way really to lose weight is to focus on eating,
- 8:07Speaker 2: eating in a way that's going to allow you to
- 8:09Speaker 2: be in a caloric deficit. So what does that mean?
- 8:11Speaker 2: It means basically, it means burning more calories than what
- 8:15Speaker 2: you're consuming. So you have to look at the exercise
- 8:18Speaker 2: and the diet aspect as a as a mathematical formula.
- 8:21Speaker 2: So it's gonna say, all right, I need to you know,
- 8:24Speaker 2: the best easiest way for me to lose weight. I
- 8:27Speaker 2: need to consume a low caloric diet that has me
- 8:31Speaker 2: balanced between my carbs, my proteins, in my fat. And
- 8:35Speaker 2: I also want to exercise that's going to allow me
- 8:39Speaker 2: to be in a deficit. I want to exercise that's
- 8:41Speaker 2: going to allow me to burn you know, five hundred
- 8:44Speaker 2: calories you know a day. So for example, if you
- 8:47Speaker 2: for for for someone to lose a pound a week,
- 8:51Speaker 2: you have to be in a five hundred calorie a
- 8:54Speaker 2: day deficit. Okay, to lose two pounds per week, you
- 8:59Speaker 2: need to be in a thousand calorie a day definitely.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Okay, let's let's stop right there. Let's writ to obi. Okay. See,
- 9:05Speaker 1: see that's when you start losing me the calorie talk,
- 9:08Speaker 1: because I don't know what I'm eating, so I just
- 9:10Speaker 1: want to eat. I don't, I don't, I don't have
- 9:12Speaker 1: time to be counting calories. So help me out with
- 9:16Speaker 1: like you know, like you know, I get up in
- 9:18Speaker 1: the morning and then I hear this statement that don't
- 9:21Speaker 1: eat after six, don't eat after six, that's how you
- 9:24Speaker 1: gain weight. So either help me with some of these
- 9:27Speaker 1: myths if you just break it down a little bit,
- 9:29Speaker 1: because those calories run me, that calorie talk run me
- 9:32Speaker 1: off every time. Obie. I'm just gonna tell you that now.
- 9:36Speaker 2: So what I would try to say is that if
- 9:38Speaker 2: you're not gonna, if you're not if if calorie counting
- 9:43Speaker 2: is kind of overwhelming for you, yes, I always say that.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I would always say that your meal, that your meal
- 9:50Speaker 2: should not exceed Your meal should not exceed the size
- 9:54Speaker 2: of your two hands. Okay, your meal should not exceed
- 9:58Speaker 2: the size of your two hands. And when you're eating
- 10:01Speaker 2: your meal, you got your fruit, your vegetable and your protein. Okay,
- 10:06Speaker 2: so you've got your fruit, your vegetables, and your protein.
- 10:11Speaker 2: All right, So that is that that's the whole color
- 10:14Speaker 2: the whole color diagram. You got your complex, you got
- 10:17Speaker 2: your protein, you got your complex carb, and you've got
- 10:21Speaker 2: your fibers carb, which is your fruits and vegetables. You
- 10:24Speaker 2: got your brown rice, for example, you got your six
- 10:27Speaker 2: ound chicken breast, and you got your apple and your broccoli.
- 10:31Speaker 2: I could just do the math right now, and I
- 10:33Speaker 2: could tell you that whole entire meal would not exceed
- 10:36Speaker 2: four hundred and five hundred calories.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Wow, that seems like a lot of phone.
- 10:41Speaker 2: That would be about five hundred calories right there. So
- 10:44Speaker 2: if you're getting three meals a day, and you're getting
- 10:46Speaker 2: fifteen hundred calories a day, if you eat enough fruits,
- 10:50Speaker 2: if you're eating if you're eating a cup of fruits
- 10:53Speaker 2: and vegetables with meal, I can guarantee you that fifteen
- 10:57Speaker 2: six hundred calories, fifteen sixteen hundred calories, what's gonna feel
- 11:00Speaker 2: like three thousand cow It's gonna fill you up because
- 11:02Speaker 2: of the fiber. All right, right, well, let's let we're
- 11:05Speaker 2: gonna use it. We're gonna use that formula. Now we're
- 11:08Speaker 2: gonna say we want you to walk every day and burn.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Get your smart watch and try to burn at least
- 11:16Speaker 2: five hundred calories a day, five hundred calories a day,
- 11:20Speaker 2: four to five days a week. Okay, And if you're
- 11:25Speaker 2: doing that along with what I'm sharing with you, consuming
- 11:29Speaker 2: fifteen hundred and sixteen hundred calories per day with your
- 11:32Speaker 2: fruits and vegetables with each meal, and your complex carb
- 11:36Speaker 2: and your healthy protein with each meal. That is a
- 11:39Speaker 2: balanced diet, and that is about That is a diet
- 11:42Speaker 2: that has you consuming enough fiber with each meal. You're
- 11:46Speaker 2: gonna feel so full, okay, because fiber is if fiber
- 11:51Speaker 2: will fill you up, all right, it will fill you up.
- 11:54Speaker 2: It's like an appetite suppressive.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:56Speaker 2: That's why fruits and vegetables are are such a great
- 11:59Speaker 2: It's a great way law schools because it's high in
- 12:01Speaker 2: nutrients in its low calories.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Right right, Well, I'm gonna tell you something. We're talking
- 12:05Speaker 1: to a world excuse me, world class fitness experts and
- 12:09Speaker 1: nutrition expert, Obi Obidke. We're gonna go to commercial break
- 12:13Speaker 1: because I do not want to cut him off because
- 12:15Speaker 1: we're on a roll here because he been mentioning cobs, cobs, cobs,
- 12:19Speaker 1: and I've got a couple of questions about that. When
- 12:21Speaker 1: we get back, we're gonna learn more about how you
- 12:25Speaker 1: just common sense. This is a common sense interview. I
- 12:27Speaker 1: asked him to stop talking about calories. He stopped, and
- 12:30Speaker 1: every since I stopped talking about calories. I've been in
- 12:32Speaker 1: awe as to what he's been talking about because I
- 12:35Speaker 1: never looked at it from that perspective. Is do not
- 12:39Speaker 1: allow your meal to exceed the size of both your
- 12:42Speaker 1: hands together. I've never heard it described like that. Again,
- 12:45Speaker 1: that's a mayor's veren that we all can relate to.
- 12:48Speaker 1: We're right back with the obi obid How to Lose
- 12:52Speaker 1: Weight Tour No Money Making Conversations master Class.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Please don't go anywhere, We'll be right back with more
- 13:00Speaker 3: money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money Making
- 13:11Speaker 3: Conversations Masterclass hosted by Rashaan McDonald. Money Making Conversations Masterclass
- 13:17Speaker 3: continues online at Moneymakingconversations dot com and follow Money Making
- 13:21Speaker 3: Conversations Masterclass on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Uh oh, before we get into further how can people
- 13:28Speaker 1: get in touch with you?
- 13:30Speaker 2: Oh? They can go to obobdk dot com and that's
- 13:34Speaker 2: where I handle anyone that's looking to want to lose
- 13:37Speaker 2: weight getting really good shape go to obi obidig dot com,
- 13:39Speaker 2: obobdk dot com, or you can follow me on my
- 13:42Speaker 2: Instagram at obi obdk or Twitter or Facebook, and then
- 13:46Speaker 2: outside my supplement company, Ethicallink dot com if you're looking
- 13:49Speaker 2: for any supplements to help assist you with your fitness
- 13:53Speaker 2: and health and weight loss goals. So I'm not difficult
- 13:55Speaker 2: to get a hold of.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Okay, that's good. Well let's talk about those supplements because
- 13:59Speaker 1: you had, because that's that's a major conversation that's going
- 14:02Speaker 1: on nowadays and authorization that weight loss. When you say supplements,
- 14:06Speaker 1: what do you mean when you say supplements out of
- 14:09Speaker 1: your company brand?
- 14:11Speaker 2: So the company that I created called Ethical Inc. At
- 14:15Speaker 2: the natural science based health and Wellness brand. And the
- 14:17Speaker 2: reason why I created this company with my friend and
- 14:21Speaker 2: minority owner and business partner, More Chestnut, is because I
- 14:25Speaker 2: have I've always had people emailing me asking me what
- 14:28Speaker 2: supplement should I buy? And unfortunately, the supplement industry is
- 14:32Speaker 2: not regulated by the FDA, so anybody can create a
- 14:35Speaker 2: supplement in the garage. And so because of the unregulation
- 14:40Speaker 2: of the dietary supplement markets, there's a lot of garbage
- 14:44Speaker 2: out there. There's a lot of supplement companies that are
- 14:47Speaker 2: putting in you know, bad ingredients fillers and it's just
- 14:52Speaker 2: not clean. It's not ingredients that are healthy for you.
- 14:54Speaker 2: And you don't know when you buy a product if
- 14:57Speaker 2: what's in the supplement facts in the back of the
- 14:59Speaker 2: bottle is actually what's actually in it. So it takes
- 15:03Speaker 2: someone that is an honest business person, someone who cares
- 15:06Speaker 2: about the consumer to make sure that what is advertised
- 15:11Speaker 2: ingredient WHI ingredients wise in the back of the product
- 15:14Speaker 2: is actually actually in that product. So, because I've spent
- 15:19Speaker 2: my you know, half of my life invested in health
- 15:22Speaker 2: and wellness as a as a you know, as an entrepreneur,
- 15:25Speaker 2: as an expert, I felt like I could could really
- 15:29Speaker 2: be a voice and be an authoritative figure in that
- 15:32Speaker 2: space and create my own company and create products that
- 15:35Speaker 2: I know truly will help people, but also be honest
- 15:39Speaker 2: and say, if you're eating in a balanced way, you
- 15:42Speaker 2: don't need any supplements. Now, how many supplement company owners
- 15:45Speaker 2: are going to tell you that they're going to just
- 15:46Speaker 2: continue to, Hey, buy my Product'm like, No, if you're
- 15:49Speaker 2: eating in a balanced way and you're getting and you're
- 15:51Speaker 2: eating getting all your nutrients from food, then you don't
- 15:54Speaker 2: really need it. You don't need to take any supplements.
- 15:56Speaker 2: And I try to be honest with people like that,
- 15:58Speaker 2: you know.
- 15:59Speaker 1: So yeah, well, you know the thing about it is
- 16:01Speaker 1: that we're always trying to get the easy way out.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Like you said, you have to be careful on what
- 16:07Speaker 1: that easy way out is because a lot of things
- 16:10Speaker 1: that people are taking that there aren't regularly get regulated,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and you know, there might just be a version of
- 16:15Speaker 1: X lack. This might be causing you to lose weight
- 16:18Speaker 1: because you can't keep food in. And so those are
- 16:21Speaker 1: out there on the market as die weight loss activities.
- 16:24Speaker 1: And so thank you for having that honest conversation and
- 16:27Speaker 1: sharing it with my audience. Now, I'm a guy who
- 16:30Speaker 1: likes desserts. I'm just gonna let you know that over
- 16:33Speaker 1: You know that about me. Now you know in your
- 16:37Speaker 1: plan you mentioned, you know, the fruits, the fiber and
- 16:41Speaker 1: the baked chicken and all that stuff. Can people eat
- 16:45Speaker 1: desserts on your diet plan?
- 16:49Speaker 2: They actually can? And I would say a dessert. I
- 16:54Speaker 2: would say, you can eat a dessert maybe like and
- 16:57Speaker 2: consider it a cheap mal like one the two days
- 17:00Speaker 2: a week. But you're still following a healthy, balanced plan
- 17:05Speaker 2: with a lot of different options to swap in and out.
- 17:09Speaker 2: You're good. You could still savor your you know, your
- 17:12Speaker 2: your sweet tooth with that dessert maybe once a week
- 17:16Speaker 2: or even up to twice a week, you know, and
- 17:18Speaker 2: and that's that's pretty good.
- 17:20Speaker 1: You can okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, now you got
- 17:22Speaker 1: me excited. Now do you stop talking about calories? Now
- 17:24Speaker 1: you're talking about desserts now, Okay. There are seven days
- 17:29Speaker 1: in a week, Obie, you say one to two days,
- 17:34Speaker 1: I can eat dessert two days?
- 17:35Speaker 2: Okay, one to two days you can actually eatser.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Okay, that that Obie, which they went to brothers. They
- 17:41Speaker 1: went to brothers because you know might I'm jumping up
- 17:43Speaker 1: and down in the studio here listening to your diet plane.
- 17:47Speaker 1: What do you call a dessert though, Obie? Okay, because
- 17:50Speaker 1: because Krispy Krean, it's a dessert to me? Can I
- 17:54Speaker 1: eat it? Krispy Krean?
- 17:55Speaker 3: Just wipe down?
- 17:57Speaker 2: This is this is what I would say. I'd say,
- 17:59Speaker 2: I always look at it from a perspective of a
- 18:02Speaker 2: dessert should not exceed the palm of your hands.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Okay, okay, Oh man, you've got Michael Jordan hands down.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I don't have to say half a half of your hand, Rashaan.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Okay, okay, but you.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Know what I'm saying is the portion size shouldn't exceed
- 18:21Speaker 2: exceed your palm. It's like, because portion matters, and that's
- 18:26Speaker 2: going to really dictate you know, how many calories your
- 18:30Speaker 2: your your body is consuming, you know what I mean?
- 18:33Speaker 2: And so I always say that like if if you're
- 18:35Speaker 2: not in the calorie counting, which a lot of people aren't,
- 18:39Speaker 2: then look at it and then try to use some
- 18:41Speaker 2: type of uh visual you know fi visual description as
- 18:46Speaker 2: far as what that portion is. And so I think
- 18:49Speaker 2: always using your hands is a good people can identify
- 18:53Speaker 2: with that. So palm of your hand should be enough.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Well, Ok, first of all, you've allowed me one day
- 19:00Speaker 1: to two days a week to eat a donut, So
- 19:03Speaker 1: right now your boy happy? I'm happy. I'm just happy
- 19:06Speaker 1: because you know, because you know, when you built your
- 19:10Speaker 1: life on eating desserts, just being cut off it could
- 19:13Speaker 1: be an ugly moment for me. Now. I had a
- 19:16Speaker 1: question come in via email said basically, you know, you
- 19:20Speaker 1: know all these about surgical procedures, how people lose weight
- 19:25Speaker 1: just doing it naturally. How many pounds can a person
- 19:28Speaker 1: lose in three months?
- 19:31Speaker 2: I think in three months realistically you can lose anywhere
- 19:36Speaker 2: from twenty five to thirty pounds in three months, and
- 19:41Speaker 2: that is considered a healthy weight. You know, the CDC
- 19:44Speaker 2: recommends that a healthy weight loss is one to two
- 19:47Speaker 2: pounds per week. Okay, so twenty five twenty four to
- 19:52Speaker 2: thirty pounds is realistic. I've had people do double that,
- 19:56Speaker 2: but they were overachievers. So I always like to be
- 19:59Speaker 2: really concerned it is, you know, and also.
- 20:02Speaker 1: You want to be a person, you know, Like I said,
- 20:04Speaker 1: they're overachievers. But I think that what I'm asking is,
- 20:07Speaker 1: and you answering, and thank you for answering, is that
- 20:10Speaker 1: when you do a diet, you just don't want to
- 20:12Speaker 1: just stop it and all of a sudden the weight
- 20:14Speaker 1: comes back, and you know, whatever program you on. Because
- 20:19Speaker 1: what I've learned is that, and I've done the diet
- 20:22Speaker 1: that he's talked about, you know, and and like I said,
- 20:25Speaker 1: and he taught me portion eating. That's what I learned.
- 20:30Speaker 1: That was the great takeaway that I still exist because
- 20:33Speaker 1: people always ask me, obi, man, you eat a lot, man,
- 20:36Speaker 1: But what a way come? What wait that we wait?
- 20:39Speaker 2: That?
- 20:39Speaker 1: Well? Because because you see me with a lot of food,
- 20:42Speaker 1: doesn't if you finished. If you see me when the
- 20:44Speaker 1: meal is over, it's still food on the plate. So
- 20:47Speaker 1: I've learned portion eating is important. Can you discuss that
- 20:52Speaker 1: with our audience.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, portion eating is definitely important because it allows it
- 20:58Speaker 2: if it will give you an idea of how much
- 21:02Speaker 2: is required and needed to give your body the required
- 21:07Speaker 2: energy it needs. And a lot of times if you
- 21:10Speaker 2: don't know, if you're not understanding calories and that's just
- 21:14Speaker 2: like too much for you, then having the portion will
- 21:17Speaker 2: give you an idea Okay, this is this is what
- 21:20Speaker 2: will supply me enough energy and enough calories without actually
- 21:24Speaker 2: having to count it. That's why portion really matters. That's
- 21:27Speaker 2: why I said, okay, two hands would be a meal,
- 21:31Speaker 2: and for a cheat meal would be the palm of
- 21:33Speaker 2: your hand, one palm of your hand. Right, So those
- 21:36Speaker 2: are things that that that that people can say, Okay,
- 21:38Speaker 2: I get that, I don't really understand the calorie count.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I don't want to do all that, but I get
- 21:43Speaker 2: the hands, I get the hands of the portion size.
- 21:45Speaker 2: And what's interesting is that the one of the reasons
- 21:48Speaker 2: why that you're you'll you'll be you know, people look
- 21:51Speaker 2: at your your meal. My god, that's so much food,
- 21:54Speaker 2: right right, and you think where where you know, where
- 21:56Speaker 2: where are you gained? You're not gained in the way.
- 21:58Speaker 2: What's happening? Well, probably the food that you're eating is
- 22:01Speaker 2: highly nutrient dense. And when you're consuming highly nutrient dense food,
- 22:07Speaker 2: the food is high in nutrients, but a lot of
- 22:10Speaker 2: times it's low in calories. So you look at the
- 22:12Speaker 2: food and it might look like it's a lot of calories,
- 22:14Speaker 2: but it really isn't because the nutrients is so high
- 22:17Speaker 2: but the calories is so low. That's why I say
- 22:19Speaker 2: fruits and vegetables are the best weight loss foods because
- 22:22Speaker 2: it looks like it's a lot of calories, but it
- 22:25Speaker 2: really isn't. You can't overdose some broccoli, Okay, you can't
- 22:29Speaker 2: over You can't all of a sudden just over consume
- 22:32Speaker 2: broccoli and all of a sudden you're going to gain weight.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I've never seen anybody get obest eating broccoli and spinach.
- 22:38Speaker 2: The calories is so low it's impossible. Wow.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Over this has been fantastic man. Thank you for like
- 22:45Speaker 1: I said, every quarter, he's going to be on my show,
- 22:49Speaker 1: just talking, educating me, reminding me of longevity and Lungevity
- 22:53Speaker 1: is called taking care of your body through a healthy meal, planning,
- 22:57Speaker 1: healthy thought process. Light world counts. You know when you
- 23:01Speaker 1: know I'm not trying to be the Rock. I'm not
- 23:03Speaker 1: trying to play for the NFL, and I'm not trying
- 23:05Speaker 1: that for a basketball team. I enjoy watching stuff on TV,
- 23:08Speaker 1: but along the way, you can't eat right and Obi,
- 23:12Speaker 1: you broke it down to me today and I hopefully
- 23:14Speaker 1: my audience heard what you told me that I'm excited about.
- 23:17Speaker 1: You got me out of the calorie conversation and that
- 23:20Speaker 1: has been a big block for me because I'm not
- 23:23Speaker 1: a counter, but I am a person understands portions, understand
- 23:27Speaker 1: that what you were talking about. And as we exit,
- 23:30Speaker 1: tell everybody how to get in touch with you one
- 23:32Speaker 1: more time.
