- 0:00Speaker 1: I want to introduce you to James Taller Rico. Now,
- 0:04Speaker 1: James tall Rico is a guy that wants you to
- 0:07Speaker 1: believe that he is a faith based Christian pastor Texas moderate.
- 0:13Speaker 1: All right, this is not who he actually is, and
- 0:17Speaker 1: you need to know exactly what his record shows, and
- 0:20Speaker 1: it's something very different. In fact, he is a hardcore
- 0:24Speaker 1: radical progressive activist who actually uses Christianity as a vehicle
- 0:30Speaker 1: for his left wing politics. And he's so extreme he's
- 0:34Speaker 1: not even a moderate in California, much less. Texas Now's
- 0:38Speaker 1: campaign site says he's a quote Presbyterian seminarian and that
- 0:44Speaker 1: his faith leads him to quote reject Christian nationalism while
- 0:49Speaker 1: supporting a democracy that protects people regardless of religion, race, gender,
- 0:55Speaker 1: sexual orientation, and other offenses. Now, I got that from
- 0:59Speaker 1: tall Rico for Texas. So if you don't like what
- 1:02Speaker 1: I just read for you, go read it there. You
- 1:04Speaker 1: don't believe me, go read it there yourself. Now, let
- 1:07Speaker 1: me just introduce you to some of the crazy things
- 1:10Speaker 1: that he's actually said, and we're going to start at
- 1:12Speaker 1: the top of the list for me, and that is well,
- 1:15Speaker 1: this one really is number one. The guy who claims
- 1:18Speaker 1: he's like this pastor said, and I'm quoting, God is
- 1:24Speaker 1: non binary. Yeah, tall Rico, the Democratic candidate in Texas
- 1:28Speaker 1: for the Senate, said, in my faith, God is non binary.
- 1:33Speaker 1: He said it during debates over a Texas bill that
- 1:35Speaker 1: required student athletes to compete according to biological sex. That
- 1:42Speaker 1: is now one of the most controversial statements of his career,
- 1:46Speaker 1: as it's being reported by The New York Post. God
- 1:49Speaker 1: is non binary because he wants to trans your kids.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Number two, he actually argued that there are more than
- 1:58Speaker 1: two biological senses. Tall Rico said, quote, modern science obviously
- 2:05Speaker 1: recognizes that there are many more than two biological sexes,
- 2:09Speaker 1: adding in fact, there are six. He tied that argument
- 2:15Speaker 1: to rare chromosonial variations and said sex can be quote
- 2:21Speaker 1: unquote a spectrum. So this dude does not believe in
- 2:25Speaker 1: XOI chromosome chromosomes at all, Like he believes it like
- 2:28Speaker 1: you can just make it up and be whatever you
- 2:29Speaker 1: want to be.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Uh.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Then later he tried to clean it up. When he
- 2:34Speaker 1: was confronted on CBS, tall Rico said, I know there
- 2:37Speaker 1: are two sexes and admitted some of his past comments
- 2:41Speaker 1: quote unquote miss the mark. Now, why is he saying
- 2:44Speaker 1: that now, well, because they're trying to make him a
- 2:46Speaker 1: moderate to appeal to more voters in Texas. He also
- 2:51Speaker 1: pushed very hard on transgender politics, and that's where many
- 2:56Speaker 1: of his campaign contributions are coming from, that transgendered lgb
- 3:00Speaker 1: ETQI plus plus plus community. And you can highlight this
- 3:05Speaker 1: from a twenty twenty one post saying and that his
- 3:09Speaker 1: Texas House office added pronouns to the staff business cards
- 3:14Speaker 1: as what he said was a quote small way to
- 3:16Speaker 1: tell trans Texans you are welcome here.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Now this is not a joke.
- 3:20Speaker 1: So if you work for tall Rico and you had
- 3:23Speaker 1: a business card and you're in the state legislature, they
- 3:25Speaker 1: put your pronouns on there because he wanted to again
- 3:28Speaker 1: say that trans Texans, you're welcome here. He also does
- 3:35Speaker 1: something which I refer to as blasphemy. Tall Rico loves
- 3:40Speaker 1: to remind you that he's a guy that wins seminary.
- 3:42Speaker 1: He loves to remind you that he is a elitist
- 3:45Speaker 1: in his faith above you and what you would actually know.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And he uses the Bible to defend progressive abortion politics
- 3:53Speaker 1: as just one example. Reporting on his past comments, tall
- 3:58Speaker 1: Rico has suggested the Bible in fact affirms abortion access.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Let me say that again. He says the Bible supports
- 4:06Speaker 1: an affirms abortion access, and has argued for reproductive rights
- 4:11Speaker 1: using religious language. Yeah, so he believes the Bible now
- 4:15Speaker 1: says that abortion is appropriate and that you should use it,
- 4:20Speaker 1: and that it's okay, and then it's protected in the Bible.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Now you may say, okay, this guy sounds pretty extreme.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Well he is, but let me also explain to you
- 4:30Speaker 1: what he thinks about his own religion. This just broke
- 4:33Speaker 1: a few hours ago an audio recording of James tall
- 4:37Speaker 1: Rico talking about his Christian faith. And listen to what
- 4:41Speaker 1: he says in his own words.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's you know, I always think of myself
- 4:46Speaker 4: as a Christian who hates Christianity up right, and like
- 4:50Speaker 4: I always get always get drowned back into it.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Wait wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on, let's let's let's
- 4:56Speaker 1: let's just rewind that. And I want to make sure
- 4:58Speaker 1: you understand there was no editing done there.
- 5:01Speaker 3: This is raw.
- 5:02Speaker 1: This is a man that went seminary that once you
- 5:04Speaker 1: believe is a passive preachers in churches that says that
- 5:06Speaker 1: the Bible say it's okay for you to have an abortion,
- 5:09Speaker 1: and it's advocating for it, and it's okay to trains
- 5:11Speaker 1: your kid. And the Bible is non binary, and that
- 5:14Speaker 1: there's six genders and that God is non binary, and
- 5:18Speaker 1: all of that comes down to again, what he says
- 5:21Speaker 1: about his own Christianity.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's you know, I always think of myself
- 5:26Speaker 4: as a Christian who hates Christianity up right, and like
- 5:30Speaker 4: I always get always get drawn back into it.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Okay, so he gets redrawn back into it because I
- 5:38Speaker 1: always sing to myself as a Christian who hates Christianity.
- 5:41Speaker 1: By the way, if you look at what he said,
- 5:43Speaker 1: I think we already knew this, but it is convenient
- 5:45Speaker 1: to hear him actually say it out loud and actually
- 5:47Speaker 1: admit it. By the way, that audio I'm going to
- 5:50Speaker 1: repost right now on x You can follow me at
- 5:53Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson's show, and you can share that everywhere in
- 5:58Speaker 1: the world. So please do that, all right. I want
- 6:01Speaker 1: to take a moment. I want to tell you about
- 6:03Speaker 1: a company that I use every day. In fact, I've
- 6:05Speaker 1: been using them for years, and now more than ever,
- 6:08Speaker 1: it's time that we stand with companies that fight for
- 6:11Speaker 1: our values. If you think wireless companies are all the same,
- 6:14Speaker 1: you might need to take a look at Patriot Mobile.

- 7:15Speaker 1: to a real person right here in America. So superior coverage,

- 7:23Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile. So take a stand today with every phone
- 7:27Speaker 1: call you make and make a difference. Patriot Mobile dot
- 7:30Speaker 1: com slash ferguson or nine to seven to two Patriot.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Use the promo code ferguson for a free month of service.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Don't wait, that's Patriot Mobile dot com slash ferguson or
- 7:43Speaker 1: nine seven to two Patriot. Now let's move on from there.
- 7:48Speaker 1: He also then says, reporting on his past comments, Salaryko
- 7:51Speaker 1: suggested that the Bible not only a firms abortion access
- 7:54Speaker 1: and has argued for reproductive rights using religious language, as
- 7:58Speaker 1: I mentioned a moment ago. But then he goes on
- 8:00Speaker 1: to say that quote unquote, poverty is violence. Yes pollution
- 8:06Speaker 1: is violence, and yes prison is violence. He also said
- 8:10Speaker 1: people don't belong in cages, a line critics say sounds
- 8:15Speaker 1: a lot like, you know, being soft on crime, right,
- 8:17Speaker 1: because he believes that you don't put someone in jail.
- 8:21Speaker 1: This the guy that is anti police, bail reform, prison reform.
- 8:25Speaker 1: He doesn't believe that if you commit heinous crimes you
- 8:27Speaker 1: should be behind bars. Now, all of this is inspired
- 8:31Speaker 1: by his radical theology. Tall Rico has actually praised an
- 8:37Speaker 1: individual described as a trans queer Latin X theologian, saying
- 8:43Speaker 1: that the Henderson Espinosa his work challenged his worldview as
- 8:51Speaker 1: a CIS white male. I'm just gonna let that marinate
- 8:56Speaker 1: for a second. So he praises Roberto Henderson Espinosa. He
- 9:01Speaker 1: describes his spiritual I guess mentor leader, whatever you want
- 9:06Speaker 1: to call it, as a trans queer LATINX theologian, and
- 9:11Speaker 1: he says the man's work challenges worldview as a CIS
- 9:14Speaker 1: white male. Now, James cal Rico, he wants Texas voters
- 9:19Speaker 1: to see a quote moderate Christian democrat, but the record
- 9:24Speaker 1: shows him saying God is non binary, that there are
- 9:28Speaker 1: six biological sexes, that there are pronouns that must be
- 9:32Speaker 1: on your business card in politics, especially that abortion theology
- 9:36Speaker 1: is in the Bible, that we shouldn't put human beings
- 9:41Speaker 1: behind bars in cages. So let out all the prisoners
- 9:44Speaker 1: and all the rapists and murderers and drug sellers, the
- 9:48Speaker 1: fetanol dealers that kill your kids. No, no, we don't put
- 9:51Speaker 1: them in jail. And on top of that, you've got
- 9:54Speaker 1: to have radical social justice language in everything. There is
- 9:59Speaker 1: nothing under it about James tall Rico. This is a
- 10:03Speaker 1: progressive seminary individual who then was put on a direct
- 10:08Speaker 1: pipeline to power.
- 10:11Speaker 3: As a wolf in sheep's clothes.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Directly to the Senate pipeline for the radical left. This
- 10:20Speaker 1: is packaging an AOC, packaging a Mundani, packaging a newsome
- 10:26Speaker 1: to try to turn a conservative state into one of
- 10:29Speaker 1: the most radical states in America by doing what I
- 10:33Speaker 1: just said about James Talerco. Now you got to ask
- 10:36Speaker 1: yourself this question, why is it that a lot of
- 10:40Speaker 1: what I just said, especially if you're not really diving
- 10:43Speaker 1: into the stuff.
- 10:43Speaker 3: On social media?
- 10:45Speaker 1: Why is it that the media isn't covering this, Like
- 10:49Speaker 1: the number of people that are not covering what he
- 10:52Speaker 1: said about his faith Christianity, Like this is so extreme,
- 10:55Speaker 1: it's not mainstream at all. Okay, I want to play
- 10:57Speaker 1: it one more time because it's a really important point.
- 10:59Speaker 1: If you are claiming your christian this is what you
- 11:01Speaker 1: believe about your Christianity, how is this not a leading
- 11:05Speaker 1: headline news story in America today?
- 11:08Speaker 4: You know, I always think of myself as a Christian
- 11:11Speaker 4: who hates Christianity up right, and like I always get
- 11:14Speaker 4: always get drowned back into it.
- 11:17Speaker 1: By the way, why would you be a Christian that
- 11:19Speaker 1: hates Christianity. Is it because you actually hate what Christianity teaches?
- 11:23Speaker 3: Right?
- 11:24Speaker 1: I mean you're self describing yourself. In an interview with
- 11:27Speaker 1: a self described transqueer activist theologian, tall Rico says he
- 11:31Speaker 1: hates Christianity. That is not mainstream, that is not normal.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I also think it's interesting and if you go back
- 11:38Speaker 1: to the war on whiteness, I think that's a good
- 11:41Speaker 1: way of putting it. James Taller Rico claims his identity
- 11:44Speaker 1: as a white man limits what's possible and then blames
- 11:48Speaker 1: it on his sis I in identity. Listen carefully. This
- 11:53Speaker 1: is again James in his own words.
- 11:55Speaker 4: When you start following me on Twitter, I you know,
- 11:59Speaker 4: couldn't attain my my inner fanboy, because I have read
- 12:04Speaker 4: your book last year and it continues to inspire me,
- 12:08Speaker 4: and y'all's work continues to inspire me. I told you
- 12:11Speaker 4: I was boring straight cis white man, and then I
- 12:13Speaker 4: had a Presbyterian to spice it up. My imagination is
- 12:16Speaker 4: also just limited by my own my own background and identity, right,
- 12:21Speaker 4: my own my whiteness, my masculinity, all those things limited
- 12:24Speaker 4: my imagination about what's possible. And that's where you know,
- 12:28Speaker 4: doctor Robin, your book helps me do that. I always
- 12:30Speaker 4: think of.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Myself wow, well wow, Like all I can say on
- 12:35Speaker 1: this is wow. He goes on to then say after that,
- 12:38Speaker 1: the part about I always think of myself as a
- 12:41Speaker 1: Christian who hates Christianity, I always get drawn back into it.
- 12:47Speaker 1: This clearly to me, seems like this is an individual
- 12:51Speaker 1: that truly hates.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Not only Christianity, but hates this country. Right.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I mean, this is the guy who says he hates Christians,
- 13:03Speaker 1: he hates Christianity, right and and I and and apparently
- 13:08Speaker 1: he reads a very different, very different Bible. Let me
- 13:12Speaker 1: also remind you what the Senate Democrats had to say
- 13:16Speaker 1: about this guy.
- 13:16Speaker 3: They put this out.
- 13:17Speaker 1: He was sitting there with James Carvel and some other
- 13:19Speaker 1: whack job and and and I want to hear what
- 13:22Speaker 1: James tall Rico says in this interview.
- 13:25Speaker 3: And that applies to Muslims and Hindus. Listen, I have
- 13:29Speaker 3: this is you know, they can learn a lot of things.
- 13:31Speaker 3: I have met.
- 13:33Speaker 5: I have met so many Hindus, Buddhists, seekh Jews, Muslims,
- 13:38Speaker 5: Atheist agnostics who are more christ Like than some of
- 13:42Speaker 5: the Christians. I serve with in the Texas legislature.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Wow, that is how much sustain this dude has for Christians.
- 13:50Speaker 1: He scrubbed trans kids and both progressive ideas and the
- 13:55Speaker 1: word progressive from his website ahead of his Senate run. Now,
- 13:59Speaker 1: if you're right is so great, why are you hiding it?
- 14:03Speaker 1: I think many Americans deserve the real tall rico, not
- 14:06Speaker 1: the campaign makeover version. And what are some other things
- 14:11Speaker 1: that he decided to you know, maybe just like get
- 14:14Speaker 1: rid of. And it's because he believes that the voters
- 14:17Speaker 1: will think he's too extreme, so he's having to lie
- 14:19Speaker 1: to you all right. On his website's homepage, the thirty
- 14:25Speaker 1: seven year old said he was quote not afraid to
- 14:27Speaker 1: stand up to Republican extremism.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Now, what is extremism?
- 14:32Speaker 1: If you're a Christian that doesn't hate Christianity, would that
- 14:34Speaker 1: be extremism? I mean, I do believe that's a fair
- 14:37Speaker 1: question to ask, right, Like, if if you believe that
- 14:44Speaker 1: as a Christian this is again how he describes himself,
- 14:47Speaker 1: who hates Christianity. Does that mean if I'm a Christian
- 14:50Speaker 1: loves Christianity and loves Jesus, that I'm an extremist?
- 14:54Speaker 4: I always think of myself as a Christian who hates
- 14:57Speaker 4: Christianity out there.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Okay, So so if that the basis for saying, then
- 15:02Speaker 1: if I say that I love the Lord and that
- 15:04Speaker 1: I'm a Christian, I'm proud to be a Christian and
- 15:05Speaker 1: that I believe uh and the what what the Bible
- 15:11Speaker 1: actually states? Does that mean I'm a Republican extremist. I'm
- 15:15Speaker 1: pretty sure now I qualify for that. He also boasts
- 15:19Speaker 1: about leading quote the fight against their efforts refer to
- 15:22Speaker 1: you and I to bully trans kids. Now, I don't
- 15:26Speaker 1: want to bully trans kids. I actually want to protect
- 15:28Speaker 1: kids from body mutilation. And if you're eighteen or older
- 15:33Speaker 1: and you want to cut it off your manhood, like,
- 15:35Speaker 1: knock yourself out if you want to. If you're a
- 15:37Speaker 1: dude and you want to add fake boobies to your
- 15:40Speaker 1: chest and then go like flash people on the White
- 15:42Speaker 1: House lawn when the next Joe Biden's in office, knock
- 15:46Speaker 1: yourself out. As long as you're an adult, I do
- 15:49Speaker 1: want to protect children from body mutilation and things that
- 15:53Speaker 1: are irreversible that their parents and the psychos in the
- 15:57Speaker 1: medical community that see these kids as nothing more than
- 16:00Speaker 1: than a seven figure payday because of lifetime care trying
- 16:03Speaker 1: to convince your body that you're the opposite sex of
- 16:06Speaker 1: what you were actually born. That's what I have a
- 16:08Speaker 1: problem with. I'm not bullying trans kids. I want to
- 16:12Speaker 1: protect kids from body mutilation. Because, by the way, when
- 16:16Speaker 1: I also thought I was Superman when I was a kid,
- 16:18Speaker 1: but my parents didn't let me jump off a roof. Okay,
- 16:21Speaker 1: I thought I was Spider Man, but they didn't let me,
- 16:24Speaker 1: you know, jump off of a moving car thinking I
- 16:27Speaker 1: could shoot a web and save myself before I hit
- 16:30Speaker 1: the ground. So why would you then let a little
- 16:33Speaker 1: kid who is clearly being pushed by their parents to
- 16:38Speaker 1: cut their genitalia off. That doesn't make sense, or have
- 16:42Speaker 1: a hysterectomy. That doesn't make sense. So when he says
- 16:47Speaker 1: I'm an extremist because I want to protect kids from
- 16:50Speaker 1: this extremism, I'm fine with them calling me that, But
- 16:53Speaker 1: why is it off your website now? He also says
- 16:56Speaker 1: that we as Christians concerts want to banned books and
- 16:59Speaker 1: whitewasher history three curriculum quote gout public education with a
- 17:03Speaker 1: private school voucher scam. By the way, that's not what
- 17:06Speaker 1: I want to do. I want their kids to be
- 17:08Speaker 1: able to go to the best schools available. And I
- 17:10Speaker 1: don't want specifically poor children, a lot of them by
- 17:14Speaker 1: the way, or minorities, to grow up in a failing
- 17:16Speaker 1: school with no chance or hope of getting out or
- 17:19Speaker 1: getting a better education. That's what I'm not in favor of.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I want kids to be able to get the best
- 17:24Speaker 1: education they can, and if that means that they're stuck
- 17:26Speaker 1: in a failing school district, in a failing school, then
- 17:29Speaker 1: they shod the chance to get a voucher to go
- 17:31Speaker 1: to a better school. He also says the reason why
- 17:35Speaker 1: conservatives are in favor of school vouchers is because, quote,
- 17:38Speaker 1: we want to force their Christian nationalist agenda on the
- 17:42Speaker 1: people of Texas.
- 17:44Speaker 3: That was on his website.
- 17:45Speaker 1: So you really just want to force people into religion
- 17:50Speaker 1: and in a Christian nationalist agenda.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Not what I believe at all, but okay, we'll keep
- 17:56Speaker 3: moving on.
- 17:57Speaker 1: The sites also lists Talla Errico's accomplishments. In that section,
- 18:03Speaker 1: it presented tall Rico as a champion of bold progressive legislation. Okay,
- 18:08Speaker 1: so where is that now? Let me tell you what
- 18:11Speaker 1: used to be up there. As a former middle school teacher.
- 18:14Speaker 1: This is his words and one of the youngest elected
- 18:17Speaker 1: officials in Texas. I'm not afraid to stand up to
- 18:19Speaker 1: Republican extremism. I've led the fight against their efforts to
- 18:23Speaker 1: bully trans kids, band books, whitewasher history curriculum, gut public
- 18:27Speaker 1: education with a private school voucher scam, and forced their
- 18:30Speaker 1: Christian nationalist agenda onto the people of Texas.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Where is that now not to be found?
- 18:36Speaker 1: Quote, I'm committed to building momentum for bold progressive ideas,
- 18:41Speaker 1: no matter how long it takes, tall Rico wrote, according
- 18:44Speaker 1: to an archived version of the site from August of
- 18:46Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, less than a year ago, he was
- 18:49Speaker 1: saying this on his website. But now he's running and
- 18:51Speaker 1: he's like, Oh, I got to get rid of all
- 18:52Speaker 1: this that I actually believe in a lot of the people.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I've introduced ambitious legislation to give every Texas teacher of
- 18:58Speaker 1: fifteen thousand dollars rays legalized marijuana because that's good for
- 19:01Speaker 1: the kids, come back climate change, and repeal anti union
- 19:05Speaker 1: laws that keep workers from organizing. So he wants union
- 19:09Speaker 1: to be bold and powerful, to be able to take
- 19:11Speaker 1: over the school system. That you don't have a voucher system,
- 19:14Speaker 1: so kids can't get out. This is who this guy is.
- 19:18Speaker 1: But then he got the makeover and the site got
- 19:21Speaker 1: a makeover. In early September. We now know this for
- 19:23Speaker 1: a fact, tallar Rico launched to send a campaign. The
- 19:27Speaker 1: homepage credits Tallo Rico with fighting billionaire mega donors rather
- 19:31Speaker 1: than Republican extremism. Then it says they meet James Taller
- 19:35Speaker 1: Rico section tuts the Democrats' efforts to expand job opportunities
- 19:38Speaker 1: for young adults rather than fight for trans kids. So
- 19:41Speaker 1: that changed, And then the site's why I'm running page
- 19:44Speaker 1: says the biggest divide in this country is not left
- 19:46Speaker 1: first right, it's top versus bottom. And the word progressive
- 19:50Speaker 1: has vanished from the entire website everywhere. So why the revisions.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I can tell you why tall Rico knows he has
- 19:58Speaker 1: to be a pathological liar, because if he wants to
- 20:01Speaker 1: swap a House State Senate seat in the liberal keep
- 20:07Speaker 1: Austin Weird district for a United States Senate seat representing Texas,
- 20:13Speaker 1: then in a state that has not sent a Democrat
- 20:16Speaker 1: to the Senate since nineteen eighty eight, when Wood Benson
- 20:21Speaker 1: was elected to serve a fourth term. Okay, then this
- 20:24Speaker 1: is apparently what he thinks he has to do. Now
- 20:27Speaker 1: if you want to know how liberal the district that
- 20:29Speaker 1: tall Rico comes from is, just to put in perspective,
- 20:32Speaker 1: Kamala Harris won tall Rico's Austin district by nearly fifty
- 20:35Speaker 1: points in twenty twenty four. When Donald Trump won Texas
- 20:39Speaker 1: by nearly fourteen points, Kamala Harris won tall Rico's district
- 20:43Speaker 1: by nearly fifty points. In his earlier races, tall Rico
- 20:47Speaker 1: presented himself as a Democrat with endorsements from left wing
- 20:49Speaker 1: groups like Liberal Austin Democrats, who's fighting back against Republican extremism. Now,
- 20:56Speaker 1: he says he's an eighth generation Texan, former middle school teacher,
- 20:59Speaker 1: pressed but tarian seminarian running to take his fight against
- 21:03Speaker 1: corruption to Washington. Anybody buying this, I'm not now. Tall Rico,
- 21:08Speaker 1: whose campaign did not respond to any request for comments
- 21:13Speaker 1: in the website Change, secured not only the Democratic nomination
- 21:17Speaker 1: in March when he defeated Congress from Jasmine Crockett by
- 21:20Speaker 1: six points. He has spent much of his campaign since
- 21:23Speaker 1: then repudiating the left wing positions that got him to
- 21:28Speaker 1: national prominence in the first place.
- 21:30Speaker 3: I'll give you example.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Last month, he walked back a controversial comment in which
- 21:34Speaker 1: he argued that God is non binary, telling CBS News
- 21:38Speaker 1: that the cringey statement missed the mark. He went on
- 21:42Speaker 1: to Telltex's attorney and podcast host that he opposes gender
- 21:46Speaker 1: reassignment surgeries for miners. Well, that's not what you said
- 21:48Speaker 1: your entire career as a state representative. In fact, tall
- 21:52Speaker 1: Rico voted against a bill that would have banned the
- 21:55Speaker 1: procedures on minors and argued in a floor speech that
- 22:00Speaker 1: it was about quote discriminating against people who are transgender.
- 22:03Speaker 1: So he wanted to mutilate children and voted to do
- 22:05Speaker 1: that in the state legislature in Texas. Tall Rico, by
- 22:10Speaker 1: the way, who has a soft spot for trans kids
- 22:12Speaker 1: as he mentioned earlier, has not said where he stands
- 22:15Speaker 1: even on hormone treatment for children. He has also said
- 22:18Speaker 1: he supports Texas's enormous oil and gas industry, though he
- 22:22Speaker 1: actually introduced legislation in the state House that would have
- 22:25Speaker 1: required climate change lessons in Texas public schools and implemented
- 22:30Speaker 1: statewide green energy mandates, which would have shut down oil
- 22:34Speaker 1: and gas industry in Texas. But now he's like, oh, yeah,
- 22:38Speaker 1: I'm in favor of you know, drilling. Sure, we believe you.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Now you put all this together. The same guy that
- 22:45Speaker 1: tells you that billionaires are evil is the same guy
- 22:47Speaker 1: that has billionaire funded superpacks that is actually led by
- 22:51Speaker 1: Tall Rico's first chie of staff. He has run ads
- 22:54Speaker 1: that are perfectly aligned with the instructions and the institutions
- 23:01Speaker 1: of the radical left billionaires that are pushing so many
- 23:04Speaker 1: of these radical ideas in America. But what does he
- 23:06Speaker 1: say back when he was, you know, in the legislature, Oh,
- 23:09Speaker 1: the rich people are evil. We got to take more
- 23:11Speaker 1: of their money. I tell all of this to you
- 23:14Speaker 1: so that one you understand who we're dealing with here.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Okay, Not only.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Are is this what we are dealing with now with
- 23:22Speaker 1: the Democratic Party, but understand they are finding the most
- 23:25Speaker 1: radical and extreme people they can find to run and
- 23:28Speaker 1: then lying okay, and then lying straight up lying.
- 23:34Speaker 3: And why are they lying? For one reason?
- 23:38Speaker 1: Because they know that if they tell you what they
- 23:40Speaker 1: actually believe when running statewide, they will not get elected.
- 23:44Speaker 1: This is evil on a level that I can't even
- 23:47Speaker 1: I never would have understood when you say you're a
- 23:49Speaker 1: Christian that hates Christianity.
- 23:52Speaker 3: I that is a level of evil that is.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Hard to get your your mind around. There's a lot
- 24:00Speaker 1: of people saying that God is non binary. Why are
- 24:03Speaker 1: they saying that God is non binary? Okay, they're saying
- 24:06Speaker 1: it because James Talerico said this.
- 24:11Speaker 5: I listened to fifteen hours of testimony on this bill.
- 24:16Speaker 5: The worst part for me was the number of Christians
- 24:20Speaker 5: who used scripture to justify hurting children. Even on this
- 24:26Speaker 5: floor today, a member tried to justify a hateful amendment
- 24:30Speaker 5: in the name of God's law. So let's talk about that.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:35Speaker 1: By the way, this is the trans bill, all right,
- 24:38Speaker 1: this is talking about trans and protecting trans kids. He's like, no, no,
- 24:42Speaker 1: let's mutilate them. Okay, So you understand the context. Keep listening.
- 24:46Speaker 5: The first two lines of the Bible. The first two
- 24:50Speaker 5: lines in Genesis used two different Hebrew words to describe God.
- 24:57Speaker 5: One is the masculine Hebrew noun for divinity. The second
- 25:04Speaker 5: is the feminine Hebrew noun for spirit. God is both
- 25:09Speaker 5: masculine and feminine and everything in between. God is non binary.
- 25:18Speaker 5: In Genesis one twenty six, God speaks of God's self
- 25:22Speaker 5: In the plural saying, let us make human beings in
- 25:28Speaker 5: our image to be like us. That's the infinite multitude
- 25:34Speaker 5: of God, the masculine, the feminine, and everything in between.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Trans children are God's children, made in God's own image.
- 25:49Speaker 5: There's nothing wrong with them, nothing at all. They are perfect,
- 25:55Speaker 5: they are beautiful, and they are sacred. Bullying children is immoral.
- 26:03Speaker 5: It's a sin, a special kind of sin.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Okay, now let's break that down. Number one, no one's
- 26:10Speaker 1: bullying trans kids. What they're doing in Texas, because we're
- 26:14Speaker 1: not insane, is we're making sure that you can't mutilate
- 26:17Speaker 1: children when all of a sudden they get old. Where
- 26:19Speaker 1: did my breast go?
- 26:19Speaker 3: Wait? Where did my penis go? Wait?
- 26:22Speaker 1: Why do I have a hysteroectory? Why did you guys
- 26:23Speaker 1: scream me up with all these hormones? Why did you
- 26:26Speaker 1: do ear things that are irreversible and permanent damage to me?
- 26:32Speaker 1: And I go back to I believe that I was
- 26:35Speaker 1: a superhero when I was a kid. My parents did
- 26:38Speaker 1: not let me jump off a roof because I thought
- 26:40Speaker 1: I could fly. But let's get into the theology aspect
- 26:44Speaker 1: of this, and I will be the first to tell
- 26:46Speaker 1: you I am not a pastor. I want to be
- 26:49Speaker 1: clear about that. Do I believe in God? Absolutely? Do
- 26:53Speaker 1: I believe that God is my personal Word and Savior?
- 26:56Speaker 3: Yes? Am I a Christian? Yes? Have I sinned? Yes?
- 27:00Speaker 3: Do I believe in forgiveness? Yes? Do I believe that
- 27:03Speaker 3: man is perfect?
- 27:04Speaker 2: No?
- 27:04Speaker 3: Am I perfect?
- 27:05Speaker 1: Absolutely not. Have I made mistakes in my life? Yes,
- 27:08Speaker 1: you better believe it. Thank goodness, I believe in a
- 27:10Speaker 1: God who is compassionate and loving and kind. Now, with
- 27:15Speaker 1: that being said, so you understand where I'm coming from,
- 27:18Speaker 1: Let's talk about the Bible and this idea. Now that
- 27:21Speaker 1: a bunch of people believe that God is non binary,
- 27:24Speaker 1: the Bible does not describe God as non binary, certainly
- 27:28Speaker 1: not as I said earlier, in the modern sense of
- 27:30Speaker 1: gender identity. And this is, by the way, an area
- 27:33Speaker 1: where if you talk to theologians and denominations like they
- 27:38Speaker 1: will tell you this as well. Now you can find
- 27:42Speaker 1: people like Tallarico who went to seminary, who will say, well,
- 27:45Speaker 1: God is a spirit and he'll quote what he just
- 27:48Speaker 1: quoted there in Genesis.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Okay, what does Jesus say.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Jesus says God is spirit and those who worship him
- 27:54Speaker 1: must worship in spirit. And truth that is in the
- 27:57Speaker 1: Gospel of John is that like non binary. No, it's not,
- 28:01Speaker 1: because God's spirit right. Orthodox Christianity has historically taught that
- 28:05Speaker 1: God is not well biologically male or female like human beings.
- 28:09Speaker 1: That's what the line comes from. Okay, let's go to
- 28:13Speaker 1: the language of the Bible. The Bible is redundant in
- 28:18Speaker 1: its consistency when it refers to God using masculine, not
- 28:24Speaker 1: non binary, but masculine language.
- 28:27Speaker 3: You look at the Old Testament, you look at the
- 28:29Speaker 3: New Testament.
- 28:29Speaker 1: By the way things change between the Old and New Testament,
- 28:31Speaker 1: but one thing that doesn't change between the Old and
- 28:33Speaker 1: New Testament is God being referred to as Father that
- 28:37Speaker 1: is male, king that is male, not queen. Lord that
- 28:42Speaker 1: is male, and he and him is in the Old
- 28:45Speaker 1: and the Nude Testament. God also taught all of his
- 28:49Speaker 1: followers to pray our Father, not our non binary person being. Okay,
- 28:56Speaker 1: in heaven, our Father in heaven. That's in Matthew, if
- 28:59Speaker 1: you want to look it up again. I'm not a pastor,
- 29:02Speaker 1: but I can read the Bible well, and I understand
- 29:04Speaker 1: what male and female is, and I understand when they're
- 29:06Speaker 1: using masculine words to describe the creator of the earth.
- 29:11Speaker 1: The Bible also says humans are male and female. They
- 29:15Speaker 1: do not have Let's be clear, non buyinary. In fact,
- 29:19Speaker 1: if you really want to go into the Bible, and
- 29:22Speaker 1: you really want to do a deep dive, go into
- 29:24Speaker 1: the Bible and see what the Bible says about men
- 29:27Speaker 1: laying with men and women laying with women. See what
- 29:30Speaker 1: happened to the town where that was going on. Is
- 29:32Speaker 1: that me being me?
- 29:33Speaker 3: No, but I'm going to tell you the truth on it.
- 29:35Speaker 1: One of the most cited passages is this quote in
- 29:38Speaker 1: the Book of Genesis. So God created mankind in his
- 29:41Speaker 1: own image, male and female. He created them. I don't
- 29:45Speaker 1: know how much more you need than that. This is
- 29:47Speaker 1: teaching two sexes that were created by God, not six,
- 29:51Speaker 1: as Tallarico says there are. Now does the Bible sometimes
- 29:56Speaker 1: use quote feminine imagery of God? That's another question I've
- 29:59Speaker 1: been asked. All right, So let's talk about that God
- 30:03Speaker 1: conforming Israel like a mother. Ex excuse me, let me
- 30:07Speaker 1: resay that God comforting Israel. This is my handwriting's bad here,
- 30:11Speaker 1: Like a mother comforts a child. That was in the
- 30:13Speaker 1: Book of Isaiah. That is not saying that God is
- 30:17Speaker 1: a woman. What he was saying was is like, I, look,
- 30:20Speaker 1: I've had coaches that if in life, when I was
- 30:24Speaker 1: training and had had those ups and downs, they used
- 30:29Speaker 1: motherly instincts. Maybe they learned from their own mother understanding
- 30:35Speaker 1: that there's certain times to be tough on me, and
- 30:37Speaker 1: there's certain times to give me a hug or to
- 30:39Speaker 1: give encouraging words. Does that mean that I'm saying that
- 30:43Speaker 1: all my male coaches were women. No, that's not what
- 30:45Speaker 1: it's saying. Same thing in the Bible. Jesus also compared
- 30:49Speaker 1: himself to a hen gathering chicks in the Gospel of Matthew. Okay,
- 30:52Speaker 1: does that mean that he's saying he's non binary? Of
- 30:55Speaker 1: course not. These are metaphors, and these are metaphors as
- 31:00Speaker 1: ive be in God's care and compassion. It's not statements
- 31:03Speaker 1: that God is a female, which many on the left
- 31:06Speaker 1: have like lost their minds, falling over themselves trying to
- 31:09Speaker 1: convince me others there's like six genders and that God's
- 31:12Speaker 1: non binary. So I go back to just one plus one.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Equals to here.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Okay, the historic Christian position is clear because the words
- 31:24Speaker 1: in the Bible God Jesus was a dude. God revealed
- 31:29Speaker 1: himself using masculine names and titles, especially the word Father,
- 31:34Speaker 1: over and over again. This is not controversial. I go
- 31:38Speaker 1: back to the perfect point here with this guy. That's crazy.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Don't trust a Christian who describes his Christian faith this way.
- 31:49Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's you know, I always think of myself
- 31:52Speaker 4: as a Christian who hates Christianity.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Up, Like, that's when you should stop listening to the
- 31:57Speaker 1: preaching of James Tallerico. A radical, crazy person who says
- 32:03Speaker 1: he thinks of himself as a Christian who hates Christianity.
- 32:06Speaker 3: That is a wolf in sheep's clothes.
- 32:08Speaker 1: If this guy hates Christianity, by the way, he also
- 32:11Speaker 1: hates meat and has a vegan campaign. He also hates guns.
- 32:14Speaker 1: He also hates oil. He thinks white people are inherently racist,
- 32:18Speaker 1: and that the Bible justifies abortion, and that God is
- 32:21Speaker 1: on binary. We should all call him out for exactly
- 32:25Speaker 1: what he is. A crazy person, someone that I do
- 32:28Speaker 1: not want to be in Washington, d C. Making decisions
- 32:34Speaker 1: about the future of this country. And then you go
- 32:37Speaker 1: back to who inspires James tall Rico. It is a
- 32:40Speaker 1: trans queer LATINX theologian. I don't know how else to
- 32:44Speaker 1: put it this, Doctor Henderson Espinoza has a book I
- 32:49Speaker 1: think it was called Activist Theology. James Tallerrico back in
- 32:53Speaker 1: February of twenty twenty one, was holding the book in
- 32:58Speaker 1: his hand, tweeted out a picture and said, I'm a
- 33:01Speaker 1: big fan. I read Activistiology last year as a progressive
- 33:03Speaker 1: Christian Texas. Your work is inspirational. I would love to
- 33:07Speaker 1: talk with you what I mean. And by the way,
- 33:10Speaker 1: to normalize transgenderism is also a disaster waiting to happen.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Joe Rogan, by the way, on his show, recently pointed
- 33:19Speaker 1: this out. It was a great point. Seven out of
- 33:23Speaker 1: the last seven school shooters in a row have been trans.
- 33:27Speaker 1: If you really want to fight me on it, one
- 33:30Speaker 1: was non binary, which is I guess you could describe
- 33:34Speaker 1: as like diet trans. Okay, So so seven out of
- 33:38Speaker 1: the last seven school shooters in a row have been trans.
- 33:44Speaker 1: It's a mental health issue. We stopped treating as a
- 33:46Speaker 1: mental health issue, and then we started celebrating a mental
- 33:50Speaker 1: health issue. And that's exactly what James Tallerico is trying
- 33:54Speaker 1: to do. Senator Josh Holly, Missouri slamming on Fox News
- 33:59Speaker 1: Channel James Trico saying this.
- 34:02Speaker 2: It's so weird. This guy is just so weird, and
- 34:06Speaker 2: saying that he's a Christian who hates Christianity, I think
- 34:08Speaker 2: pretty much sums it up. I know, this is a
- 34:11Speaker 2: guy who believes that men ought to be playing women's
- 34:13Speaker 2: sports and men ought to be in women's locker rooms.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I guess maybe we read a different Bible. I'm pretty
- 34:18Speaker 2: sure the Bible says that male and female God created
- 34:21Speaker 2: them and he saw that it was good. So I
- 34:23Speaker 2: think maybe tall Rico ought to knock it off, maybe
- 34:26Speaker 2: read the scripture a little bit more. Quit telling women
- 34:28Speaker 2: that they should accept men in their locker rooms. Quit
- 34:30Speaker 2: saying that God is non binary, which is another of
- 34:32Speaker 2: his quotes. There's not two hundred genders, there's two. There's
- 34:36Speaker 2: nothing wrong with being a woman or being a man.
- 34:39Speaker 2: And I just think this guy, he's got to be
- 34:41Speaker 2: the weirdest Senate candidate out there this year for the Democrats.
- 34:44Speaker 2: And that is really saying something.
- 34:47Speaker 3: I could not agree with Josh Hollymore on this one.
- 34:49Speaker 1: By the way, he's absolutely right eight seven seven three
- 34:53Speaker 1: eight one thirty eight eleven. If you want to know
- 34:56Speaker 1: what blasphemy sounds like, look up the word blasphemy, Okay,
- 35:00Speaker 1: James tall Rico. I always think to myself as a
- 35:02Speaker 1: Christian who hates Christianity. That is blasphemy. I hope you'll
- 35:05Speaker 1: take all the audio that I just played for you.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Please share our podcast wherever you are on social media
- 35:11Speaker 1: to help us grow, and I will see you back
- 35:13Speaker 1: here tomorrow
