- 1:37Speaker 2: I'm finding you what city you call it from? Brother,
- 1:41Speaker 2: Mobile Alabama. I'm a big deal in Mobile.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Well, guess what, I've been down there many times. You
- 1:47Speaker 1: tell jokes down there way back in the day at
- 1:49Speaker 1: the Puncherlin Comedy Club at Mobile, Alabama. That's when I
- 1:52Speaker 1: met the famous j Anthony Brown. Wat's out there now.
- 1:56Speaker 1: He was headlining the show down there and I was featuring,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and uh, it changed my life because it became a
- 2:01Speaker 1: friend of mine for the rest of my life. So
- 2:03Speaker 1: he died a Mobile. How's life down there in the
- 2:06Speaker 1: Deep South?
- 2:06Speaker 2: My brother?
- 2:07Speaker 1: For a motivational speaker. For a motivational speaker.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Well, doing good, doing good? You know, I always trying
- 2:13Speaker 2: to help move the culture forward.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Now, I really I brought you back on the show.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I've never done this and I and Ax speech TEDx opportunity.
- 2:26Speaker 1: A lot of people approached me about that not me
- 2:29Speaker 1: personally saying they've you had this opportunity, how does that
- 2:32Speaker 1: work and how do you get to be featured oh today?
- 2:37Speaker 2: Well, actually my coach, doctor Ruben Wes, he was the
- 2:40Speaker 2: one that recommended me for an opportunity to speak on
- 2:44Speaker 2: a TEDx event, But it was up to the university.
- 2:49Speaker 2: They had to be the ones that would actually approve
- 2:52Speaker 2: me being on there. But I'm telling you it was
- 2:54Speaker 2: a tremendous opportunity, you know, to just pour into those
- 2:58Speaker 2: people who were tuned in, those people who were listening,
- 3:01Speaker 2: those people who were watching, and really help them to
- 3:04Speaker 2: understand that they could refocus their life.
- 3:07Speaker 1: You know. The number number one fear is known as
- 3:11Speaker 1: public speaking. I know that going out there trying to
- 3:15Speaker 1: make people laugh. It's hard enough because they're strangers. You know,
- 3:19Speaker 1: if they're having a bad day and they're going to
- 3:23Speaker 1: come to this club, hopefully get at liquer and they
- 3:25Speaker 1: understand what I'm trying to do and they get motivated
- 3:29Speaker 1: to lab and the enjoy what show I was doing
- 3:31Speaker 1: back in the day when I was doing stand up comedy.
- 3:34Speaker 1: As a motivational speaker, what is your job to cony?
- 3:39Speaker 2: My job is just like my slogan says, we make
- 3:42Speaker 2: motivation personal by introducing you to yourself, and that's helping
- 3:47Speaker 2: the people to understand that they have a value that
- 3:49Speaker 2: the world needs because I believe a lot of people
- 3:52Speaker 2: really don't know who they are. They really haven't tapped
- 3:54Speaker 2: into what that value is. To see what value their
- 3:58Speaker 2: value brings obvious, to help them to discover, to unveil,
- 4:03Speaker 2: to unpack the gifts they have in them, and then
- 4:06Speaker 2: see why it's so needed.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Now explain it to me, because that I'm gonna tell
- 4:11Speaker 1: you them. That was well written and well presented, but
- 4:16Speaker 1: it still leads me on the edge of what are
- 4:18Speaker 1: you trying to get me to do?
- 4:21Speaker 2: Okay? Well, what I normally do is I have people
- 4:23Speaker 2: ask themselves questions because I tell people all.
- 4:25Speaker 1: The time, help me out, Okay, we will help help
- 4:28Speaker 1: us out. He's trying to find himself, help me with
- 4:31Speaker 1: the with the process. What questions you need me to
- 4:33Speaker 1: ask myself?
- 4:34Speaker 2: Okay, Well, I want to ask you this. What is
- 4:36Speaker 2: it that you do that that people are excited when
- 4:42Speaker 2: you show up, that they are just happy that you
- 4:45Speaker 2: are here to fulfill whatever role that is? What is it?
- 4:49Speaker 2: What is it that you do in that in your
- 4:52Speaker 2: life that actually blesses other people.
- 4:55Speaker 1: When I bake. When you make people know I'm baking,
- 4:59Speaker 1: they get excited. Okay, all right, it's something that my
- 5:02Speaker 1: staff has told me to get back into. I'm not
- 5:05Speaker 1: shot a baking video in two years. I'm going to
- 5:08Speaker 1: start next month. And in fact, I had a business
- 5:13Speaker 1: meeting today and prior to the business meeting, the person
- 5:16Speaker 1: who set it up with me asked, would I bake
- 5:20Speaker 1: butter pecan cake for them? And I did, and they
- 5:23Speaker 1: came over at their staff to my office and they
- 5:25Speaker 1: were they were stoked. They couldn't believe I did it.
- 5:28Speaker 1: So that brings happiness to be people. I don't drink
- 5:32Speaker 1: or smoke, so that brings stress down for me when
- 5:35Speaker 1: I do it. But I also know that when I
- 5:37Speaker 1: do bake or cook, people get real excited and relaxed
- 5:40Speaker 1: around me.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Well there's your motivation right there. You know, to be
- 5:44Speaker 2: able to leave the world in a better place, in
- 5:47Speaker 2: the better space by the gift that you've been given,
- 5:50Speaker 2: and that is to bake. But I think also too,
- 5:53Speaker 2: you have a gift of inspiration and encouragement because you
- 5:57Speaker 2: don't just keep it to yourself, but you other people
- 6:00Speaker 2: like myself to be on your platform to pour to
- 6:03Speaker 2: other people's lives. To me, that says something about your heart,
- 6:06Speaker 2: about your willingness to give and to share again to
- 6:09Speaker 2: make the world a better place.
- 6:12Speaker 1: What's important that I do that you know this this
- 6:14Speaker 1: format is not something that people enable me. People contacted me.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm talking about the powers that be iHeart. They gave
- 6:23Speaker 1: me the opportunity to be in this format. They didn't
- 6:26Speaker 1: have to offer this to me. They gave me an
- 6:27Speaker 1: opportunity to be in this position to present this. And
- 6:30Speaker 1: so my number one goal this show. Prior when it
- 6:34Speaker 1: started with Celebrity Driven, all I was doing was interview
- 6:36Speaker 1: a celebrity, Shakoni. And so once I realized that people
- 6:40Speaker 1: wanted to hear more from individuals like you, small business owners, entrepreneurs,
- 6:46Speaker 1: people that they can actually be understand their plan of activation.
- 6:51Speaker 1: That is what is That's the model that operate under
- 6:54Speaker 1: now on the Money Making Conversations masterclass. But as I
- 6:57Speaker 1: talk to you, you know, with the different way world now, Chickony,
- 7:02Speaker 1: you know a lot of stress and you know people
- 7:06Speaker 1: used to go to college. How they want to they
- 7:08Speaker 1: feel as they can gain financial success with certificates, and
- 7:14Speaker 1: when you first started to be a motivational change, it's
- 7:16Speaker 1: a motivational person or change. When you started, how does
- 7:21Speaker 1: it feel ten years later?
- 7:24Speaker 2: It feels amazing because there's so much you learn about
- 7:28Speaker 2: yourself on the journey. I'm gonna say that again because
- 7:33Speaker 2: a lot of people want to quit and they want
- 7:34Speaker 2: to give up, but there's so much that you learn
- 7:37Speaker 2: about yourself on the journey. You learn whether or not
- 7:40Speaker 2: this is really for you. You learn whether or not it's
- 7:43Speaker 2: a caller or is it a passion. Because if you
- 7:46Speaker 2: don't have that, what happens is you will give up
- 7:49Speaker 2: and quit soon before you reach any measure of success.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I was sharing with a group of young men just
- 7:55Speaker 2: the other day about how in order to leave a legacy,
- 7:58Speaker 2: you have to be successful. But before you are successful,
- 8:01Speaker 2: to be consistent. Before you are consistent, you have to
- 8:04Speaker 2: be committed. So we have to learn how to be
- 8:07Speaker 2: committed to something that allows us to be consistent at it.
- 8:12Speaker 2: That consistency leads to success at it, and that success
- 8:15Speaker 2: leaves a legacy. Anybody think that's legendary. They started with
- 8:20Speaker 2: a commitment, That commitment caused them to be consistent, That
- 8:23Speaker 2: consistency gave them success, and that success made them a legend.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Now with your book, you know you want an International
- 8:30Speaker 1: Impact Book Award for your latest book, which we featured
- 8:33Speaker 1: on our show, Healed aht a l help elevate and
- 8:37Speaker 1: learn a guide to healing your inner child. And whenever
- 8:40Speaker 1: I say the word in the child, people give me
- 8:43Speaker 1: that little that little sideways look. Well, you talking about
- 8:46Speaker 1: inner child, and talk about that because this book really
- 8:50Speaker 1: did impact a lot of people who listen to my show,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and hopefully it still will do. That's why I wanted
- 8:56Speaker 1: to make sure I bring it up today because it's
- 8:58Speaker 1: a show that one international honor as a book. Excuse me, well, you.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Know one of the things one of the reasons I
- 9:06Speaker 2: started I actually wrote that book was because I spoke
- 9:09Speaker 2: at an event here Mobile. It's called a focused Women's Conference,
- 9:13Speaker 2: and I spoke about wearing the right mindset and doing
- 9:16Speaker 2: my presentation. At the end, I had all of the
- 9:19Speaker 2: ladies to first of all, secure their valuables, because I said,
- 9:21Speaker 2: everybody ain't safe, so make sure your person and your
- 9:24Speaker 2: phone are close to you. But then I had them
- 9:27Speaker 2: close their eyes and put the hand over their heart,
- 9:29Speaker 2: and I had them to speak to the little girl
- 9:32Speaker 2: with them now, and I told them to thank that
- 9:36Speaker 2: little girl for the strength that she had to go
- 9:39Speaker 2: through whatever they went through them for those women to
- 9:43Speaker 2: become the fact the women that they are today. But
- 9:46Speaker 2: then I also I also told them to tell that
- 9:50Speaker 2: to I let them know that that little girl was
- 9:53Speaker 2: proud of the women that they became. And after I
- 9:56Speaker 2: finished that presentation, I can't tell you how many women,
- 9:59Speaker 2: I mean to tin women came up to me after this.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Some of them were tears in their eyes, thanking me
- 10:04Speaker 2: for not only for what I shared earlier, but even
- 10:07Speaker 2: that exercise, because they had literally forgot about the fact
- 10:09Speaker 2: that there was a little girl in them that went
- 10:12Speaker 2: through I don't know what it was they faced, but
- 10:14Speaker 2: they knew, and the little child knew. And so that
- 10:18Speaker 2: was a catalyse for me writing this book because a
- 10:20Speaker 2: lot of us we are dealing with current day behavior
- 10:23Speaker 2: that was seated in our childhood. And if we don't
- 10:26Speaker 2: take the time to understand how our childhood is still
- 10:31Speaker 2: impacting us, if we haven't healed from that hurt, if
- 10:35Speaker 2: we haven't healed from those wounds, what happens is it
- 10:38Speaker 2: keeps showing up their patterns, and if we don't recognize
- 10:41Speaker 2: them as such, we would just say, well, that's just
- 10:44Speaker 2: where I am. And I tell people all the time
- 10:45Speaker 2: it's not what you do, but why you do it.
- 10:48Speaker 2: If you don't understand the why, you'll always keep repeating
- 10:51Speaker 2: the what. So that's why I wrote the book and
- 10:54Speaker 2: even turn the book into a podcast, because I wanted
- 10:56Speaker 2: to keep the conversation going. And my slother for my
- 10:59Speaker 2: podcast is we don't want to end the conversation. We
- 11:02Speaker 2: want to start the conversation around in the child wounds,
- 11:05Speaker 2: in a child trauma, but also in a child healing Cool.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I'm talking to Tacony's print to ICONI friends, you just
- 11:14Speaker 1: reference his first ted X talk. His book is won
- 11:18Speaker 1: an International Impact Award. That book is called Heal h
- 11:22Speaker 1: e a l help elevate and learn the God to
- 11:25Speaker 1: healing your inner child. Now, with that being said, we
- 11:28Speaker 1: all need to be inspired. Because you asked me a question, Rashan,
- 11:31Speaker 1: when you walk here, what makes people happy? And I
- 11:33Speaker 1: told you why baking makes people happy. What inspiration drives
- 11:38Speaker 1: you to what you do?
- 11:39Speaker 2: Checone, The inspiration that drives me to what I do
- 11:44Speaker 2: is really seeing somebody see themselves in a different life,
- 11:50Speaker 2: helping somebody to understand their own value. Again, we don't
- 11:55Speaker 2: get the right answers because we're not asking the right questions.
- 11:57Speaker 2: And we'll ask questions of everybody else, but rarely do
- 12:00Speaker 2: ask questions of ourselves. So my goal, my goal is
- 12:04Speaker 2: to help people to ask the questions of themselves so
- 12:08Speaker 2: they can understand. That's why I say we make motivation
- 12:10Speaker 2: personal by introducing you to yourself, compan you to understand
- 12:14Speaker 2: your own value, what it is you have, what gifts, abilities,
- 12:17Speaker 2: talents you have, and those can't just be self serving.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Like doctor mos Monroe said, the fruit isn't for the tree,
- 12:25Speaker 2: and your gifts, your abilities, and your talents aren't just
- 12:28Speaker 2: for you. They are for those who you've been called
- 12:31Speaker 2: to serve.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Now you're not a minister, but you're a motivator. But
- 12:38Speaker 1: both ministers and motivators deal with the culture, deal with
- 12:43Speaker 1: the community, deal with people sitting in a chair or
- 12:48Speaker 1: pew looking for a methic, a motivation to change their
- 12:55Speaker 1: date or change their lives. When we talk about the
- 12:59Speaker 1: culture and young people, how do you expect what you
- 13:06Speaker 1: do to impact them so they can move our culture
- 13:09Speaker 1: today forward?
- 13:13Speaker 2: How I expect what I do to help them move
- 13:16Speaker 2: our culture forward is for them to understand their value,
- 13:21Speaker 2: Understand what it is they have, who they are, what
- 13:26Speaker 2: they've been given, How they can help encourage, motivate, bless
- 13:31Speaker 2: the things that they have in them that they don't
- 13:35Speaker 2: seize value if they don't understand that they are gifts
- 13:39Speaker 2: to be given to the world. If I can help
- 13:42Speaker 2: them to understand that, identify what that is to be it,
- 13:46Speaker 2: don't let anything or anybody stand in that way. That's
- 13:48Speaker 2: why I say, and again as you go up into
- 13:50Speaker 2: my statement, we make motivation personal by introducing you to yourself.
- 13:56Speaker 2: If you ever get it in your heart that I
- 13:58Speaker 2: have something to give the world, I have a gift,
- 14:00Speaker 2: an ability, and a talent. I have done my job.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I can just step by the way and just let
- 14:05Speaker 2: you go because I know you're going to be going
- 14:07Speaker 2: after that thing what you've been called and given to do,
- 14:09Speaker 2: because you know you've been giving it. Yes, there's gonna
- 14:13Speaker 2: be challenge, it's gonna be out of school, it's gonna
- 14:15Speaker 2: be hard times. But when you know that you have
- 14:17Speaker 2: something valuable, you won't keep it to yourself.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
- 14:23Speaker 3: Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money Making
- 14:33Speaker 3: Conversations Masterclass hosted by Rashaan McDonald.
- 14:37Speaker 1: He's so interesting, Like, you know, people always call me
- 14:40Speaker 1: and they always ask me what am I doing? And
- 14:43Speaker 1: I need to tell them that ain't while you should
- 14:46Speaker 1: be calling me because I'm not into doing that play
- 14:48Speaker 1: by play on my day, you know, you know, because
- 14:52Speaker 1: I know sometimes I can't tell you what I do. Jacony,
- 14:54Speaker 1: You know, now would that be said a motivational speaker?
- 14:59Speaker 1: What the as a motivational speaker do daily? And how
- 15:04Speaker 1: does he go? If everybody's on an eight to five job,
- 15:08Speaker 1: what are you doing eight to five as a motivational speaker?
- 15:11Speaker 2: To Coney, I'm looking for greater opportunities two to literally
- 15:18Speaker 2: attact motivate people. What motivates mean, it's motivating people. That's
- 15:24Speaker 2: what keeps out.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Sound That sounds simple though, that sounds like a nice
- 15:28Speaker 1: catch phrase because you know, I you know, Money Making
- 15:33Speaker 1: Conversation master Class. I always tell people I'm just a storyteller.
- 15:37Speaker 1: You're the subject matter expert. Okay, and walking on that
- 15:40Speaker 1: stage like you talked about the speech you gave and
- 15:43Speaker 1: women came up to you, you know, with tears in
- 15:46Speaker 1: their eyes. You know that were you Was that your
- 15:49Speaker 1: goal to get that type of emotion from that, or
- 15:52Speaker 1: you were surprised by the reaction that they gave you
- 15:56Speaker 1: to something that you just said that you believed in.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I was a little surprised by the reaction, but I
- 16:03Speaker 2: wasn't surprised by the content. And what I mean by
- 16:06Speaker 2: that is I knew that I was going to pour
- 16:09Speaker 2: into them because it first hit me, okay, and I
- 16:14Speaker 2: knew that if I delivered it right, it was going
- 16:16Speaker 2: to hit them. I was surprised at how freely they
- 16:20Speaker 2: came up and they expressed the impact. Now some of
- 16:23Speaker 2: them left, some of them they saying anything, but there
- 16:25Speaker 2: was something. They were like, I can't walk out of
- 16:27Speaker 2: this room until I go up there and tell him
- 16:30Speaker 2: just how just how much this meant to me. And
- 16:33Speaker 2: I know of the ones that came up there there
- 16:35Speaker 2: were more that didn't, but I know it also hit them.
- 16:38Speaker 2: And even if no one ever came up, I knew
- 16:41Speaker 2: I had delivered what was given to me. I was
- 16:43Speaker 2: just a messenger, but I knew that that message hit home.
- 16:47Speaker 2: And I'm and I'm continuing to do that because I
- 16:49Speaker 2: never know who's next? I never know who needs to
- 16:53Speaker 2: hear what I have to say.
- 16:55Speaker 1: No, just go back in easty about our relationship. CHACONI
- 16:59Speaker 1: wasn't all was going to be a motivational speaker. He
- 17:02Speaker 1: was in the graphic design. If I was correct, correct
- 17:05Speaker 1: through the animation, So you was eight to five guy
- 17:07Speaker 1: forty all We got, you know, going in there working
- 17:11Speaker 1: the job, and then this is what I'm supposed to do.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Please tell everybody about people tell you what you're supposed
- 17:19Speaker 1: to do, to what you're supposed to do, or or
- 17:22Speaker 1: they a framework that saying this is your life. When
- 17:26Speaker 1: did you decide to break that model and say I'm
- 17:29Speaker 1: not happy? Then you had to educate the people around
- 17:32Speaker 1: you to let them know this is who I wanted
- 17:35Speaker 1: to be.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Well, you know my book Are You Climbing the Wrong Mountain?
- 17:40Speaker 2: About Finding your True purpose? That was the turning point,
- 17:43Speaker 2: you know, that was the catalyst I was actually doing
- 17:46Speaker 2: through the animation. And I remember I had one and
- 17:53Speaker 2: a speech competition at the Power. They were in Commas.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Doctor George Frasier. I was out of a quitch pig
- 17:59Speaker 2: business and when my presentation one that particular event, I
- 18:05Speaker 2: had an epiphany and that epiphany was that my words
- 18:08Speaker 2: could be used for more than selling a product or service.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I could sell people on themselves. That's when I realized
- 18:14Speaker 2: that I was only wrong mountain. So for those people
- 18:18Speaker 2: that are struggling to identify what the right mountain is,
- 18:23Speaker 2: I will go back to what I asked, like mister
- 18:25Speaker 2: McDonald earlier, what is it that you do with the
- 18:29Speaker 2: least amount of effort but has the greatest impact For me?
- 18:33Speaker 2: That's talking, that's sharing, that's encouraging, that's communicating, that's helping
- 18:38Speaker 2: people to see themselves in the red of life. So
- 18:40Speaker 2: that's what it is for me.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Now, that book gave me my favorite and I used
- 18:44Speaker 1: that a lot about that. Make sure you standing on
- 18:47Speaker 1: the right mountain. Everybody want to climb to the mountaintop,
- 18:51Speaker 1: make sure you climb to the right top of the
- 18:53Speaker 1: right mountain. That's for you. Now, that's one of the
- 18:56Speaker 1: I don't know if you trade about that that that's
- 18:59Speaker 1: that's a great phrase for me. I use it a
- 19:01Speaker 1: lot and just translating clear understanding that make sure the
- 19:07Speaker 1: effort you're putting into something is the effort that's going
- 19:10Speaker 1: to make you happy. I think that's what you're talking
- 19:12Speaker 1: about correct.
- 19:13Speaker 2: That's it, That's exactly. It makes sure that what it
- 19:16Speaker 2: is you've been called and given to do, there's a
- 19:19Speaker 2: sense of purpose and fulfilling it, because if it's not,
- 19:23Speaker 2: it's just another job. But if you know for a
- 19:25Speaker 2: fact that you've been gifted in this area, if you
- 19:29Speaker 2: would do it without a paycheck, if you would do
- 19:32Speaker 2: it and not even look at your watch. In fact,
- 19:33Speaker 2: when it's over, you kind of upset, You kind of
- 19:35Speaker 2: mail and then start thinking, Okay, what can I do
- 19:38Speaker 2: this again? Well, that's the way I am with motivational speaking.
- 19:42Speaker 2: When I have opportunities again to poorner people, that's what
- 19:45Speaker 2: I look forward to it. And even after I get
- 19:47Speaker 2: off this podcast, I look for another opportunity to actually
- 19:50Speaker 2: help somebody get you a better place, in better space
- 19:53Speaker 2: in life.
- 19:54Speaker 1: You know, it's really happy to hear that. You know,
- 19:57Speaker 1: inspiration is key. I know that it was two teachers
- 20:01Speaker 1: who is the reason I'm talking to you today as
- 20:05Speaker 1: a Georgia and Nelson that was my math teacher, and
- 20:09Speaker 1: Linda Traylor that was my biology teacher. Those two people
- 20:13Speaker 1: poured it to me. They poured into a kid who
- 20:16Speaker 1: didn't want to work, They didn't want to wanted to
- 20:19Speaker 1: take the easy way out of life. I whatever could
- 20:23Speaker 1: get me through that door quick. I wanted to go
- 20:25Speaker 1: through that door, and they went, and they was right
- 20:27Speaker 1: there blocking it every time. And it's kind of crazy that,
- 20:30Speaker 1: you know, my degree I got out of college eventually
- 20:33Speaker 1: became math, and I didn't want to do math. But
- 20:36Speaker 1: seven years later I became a math a per person
- 20:40Speaker 1: degree in math. And so it's about inspiration. People we
- 20:44Speaker 1: meet along the way that sometimes we don't know are
- 20:48Speaker 1: they inspiring two to who we are today? Who was
- 20:52Speaker 1: your inspiration? CHACONI.
- 20:55Speaker 2: I had a professor in college whose name was Michael Rodriguez.
- 21:00Speaker 2: They used to call him rob Zilla because he would
- 21:03Speaker 2: literally take up the GPA. He taught us like we
- 21:06Speaker 2: were already engineers. I was going to get my Bachel's
- 21:09Speaker 2: green in the lect trying to engineer. He taught us
- 21:12Speaker 2: like we were already engineers. And I realized that I
- 21:17Speaker 2: had to be a better critical thinker to get through
- 21:21Speaker 2: his class. One thing I tell people all the time.
- 21:23Speaker 2: College taught me how to teach myself. He taught me
- 21:26Speaker 2: the importance of being able to actually work through a process.
- 21:29Speaker 2: And so he was the inspiration because he challenged me
- 21:33Speaker 2: to a point to where it's like, I know I'm
- 21:35Speaker 2: better than this, I know I can do more. And
- 21:37Speaker 2: had it not been for his sternness, his toughness, I
- 21:42Speaker 2: probably don't be where I am today because, like you
- 21:45Speaker 2: and like most people, everybody looked for the easy way out.
- 21:48Speaker 2: But that doesn't lead to success. In fact, at leads
- 21:52Speaker 2: to ruin.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Well there, if you could find the easy way out,
- 21:57Speaker 1: go forward. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna stop anybody
- 22:00Speaker 1: who find the easy route, Okay, but these two ladies
- 22:05Speaker 1: saw something in me that they went look, and I
- 22:09Speaker 1: believe I've had an impact on this world. I believe
- 22:11Speaker 1: I've had an impact on this society, society so because
- 22:16Speaker 1: they made that effort to turn me in the direction
- 22:19Speaker 1: of who I am or who I've become today and
- 22:21Speaker 1: I always feel I'm evolving every day at shakone. But
- 22:24Speaker 1: I talk to people like you, is that you give
- 22:27Speaker 1: me more information, you give me more advice. And I
- 22:30Speaker 1: always tell people when I wake up in the morning,
- 22:32Speaker 1: I literally wake up dumb. That's the that's the word
- 22:35Speaker 1: I can usually dumb, and that that allows me to
- 22:38Speaker 1: take information in and disseminate it accordingly. Because you know,
- 22:42Speaker 1: I wake up. You know, I stretched, I watched the news,
- 22:46Speaker 1: I read the newspapers, so I'm constantly taking in information
- 22:50Speaker 1: for that day. So I'm not so I'm actually whatever
- 22:54Speaker 1: I knew the day before, it's going to be, it's
- 22:57Speaker 1: being added to it the first hour and a half
- 22:59Speaker 1: of my And so you as an inspirational leader, you
- 23:03Speaker 1: as a motivational speaker. That's why I bring up the
- 23:05Speaker 1: fact that you guys are not that you're not that
- 23:08Speaker 1: far from being a minister. And I'm not calling you
- 23:10Speaker 1: a minister, but you are a motivator. And you walk
- 23:14Speaker 1: in front of a room full of strangers, this is
- 23:17Speaker 1: the key. As a stand up former, stand up coming,
- 23:20Speaker 1: my job was to make them lack Literally, what is
- 23:24Speaker 1: your job? Were you walking from a room full of people,
- 23:27Speaker 1: even though you know you've been booked to speak, What
- 23:30Speaker 1: is the task? And it's not to make people cry,
- 23:34Speaker 1: but what is the task at hand? As a speaker
- 23:37Speaker 1: that you've done so well and made you an international
- 23:40Speaker 1: present to Conye's prince.
- 23:43Speaker 2: To call them to action and the action really fits
- 23:47Speaker 2: what it is they've been called to do, To call
- 23:50Speaker 2: them to get out of their own way, to stop
- 23:54Speaker 2: doubting themselves, to stop devaluing themselves, but for them to
- 23:58Speaker 2: really understand that they have something to offer. If I
- 24:03Speaker 2: can do that, if I can help people to somebody
- 24:07Speaker 2: want to say it. A good speaker will have you
- 24:08Speaker 2: leaving talking about them, But a great speaker will have
- 24:13Speaker 2: you leaving. Well, We'll have you leaving talking about yourself.
- 24:19Speaker 2: And that's my job to be a great speaker. I
- 24:21Speaker 2: don't want people to just talk about how well and
- 24:23Speaker 2: eloquent I was. I want them to leave out of
- 24:26Speaker 2: the room talking about, Man, I can do this, I
- 24:28Speaker 2: can take this, I can go after this, I can
- 24:30Speaker 2: achieve this. That's my job to motivate them again my
- 24:34Speaker 2: catchphrase making motivation personal by introducing you to yourself. If
- 24:39Speaker 2: I can do that again, I can just grab me
- 24:41Speaker 2: some popcorn and sit back and watch the flowers because
- 24:43Speaker 2: I know you fin to tear it up. So that's
- 24:46Speaker 2: what that's what that's what I want to do. I
- 24:49Speaker 2: want to set you a fire so you can go
- 24:51Speaker 2: and you can shine. Don't just talk about me on
- 24:54Speaker 2: the stage. And when I say and I want no,
- 24:56Speaker 2: no no. If I don't inspire you, what am I
- 24:58Speaker 2: here for? What am I hip? I mean, I can't inspire,
- 25:02Speaker 2: but if I don't motivate you, motivation comes from the inside. Inspiration.
- 25:07Speaker 2: I can be inspired by Rashaun McDonald. You inspire me,
- 25:11Speaker 2: but motivation comes from the inside. That's why I say
- 25:14Speaker 2: we make it personal. You have to have your own
- 25:17Speaker 2: level of personal motivator. You have to see your own
- 25:19Speaker 2: value because it's in that scene and understanding and recognizing
- 25:23Speaker 2: that that's why you take action.
- 25:25Speaker 1: So what's your biggest goal moving forward? You've done the
- 25:27Speaker 1: Ted Talk Okay, you got an international bestseller. Okay, you
- 25:32Speaker 1: know you're a regular on my show. I think that's
- 25:35Speaker 1: a blessing in our relationship. So what's your what's your
- 25:38Speaker 1: what's the big goal for the future.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Well, I'm actually gonna go back to Kenya in July.
- 25:43Speaker 2: So I'm excited about that ken you ask me. Yeah,
- 25:46Speaker 2: I went back in twenty twenty three and I'm going
- 25:48Speaker 2: back getting this year. I'm so grateful for that opportunity
- 25:50Speaker 2: as well. But my my goal is to is to
- 25:55Speaker 2: get on a get on a national stage on a
- 25:58Speaker 2: regular basis. And what I mean by that is have
- 26:01Speaker 2: my own I mean I have my own podcasts because
- 26:05Speaker 2: I do myself. But I really want to get to
- 26:08Speaker 2: a place to where I've become a household name in
- 26:11Speaker 2: the area of personal development, the US of development. And
- 26:15Speaker 2: I say fact mental health because my latest book it
- 26:18Speaker 2: really deals with a certain aspect And I mean, I'm
- 26:21Speaker 2: just on the outskirts of the mental health a reader,
- 26:24Speaker 2: but I think it's one of the easiest one of
- 26:27Speaker 2: because it's like an introduction. You know, I'm not a
- 26:30Speaker 2: professional psychologist, psychiatist, you know, I don't have any of
- 26:34Speaker 2: those training, but I had enough experience to write the book,
- 26:36Speaker 2: which is one of the reasons why on my podcast,
- 26:39Speaker 2: I have therapists, I have coaches, I have psychologists and
- 26:42Speaker 2: psychiatrists come on there and actually talk about how inner
- 26:45Speaker 2: child warns the inner child trauma still affect people. So
- 26:48Speaker 2: I just want to again just get a wider dissemination
- 26:52Speaker 2: of my content so that I can motivate other people
- 26:57Speaker 2: to take action and have a better place, better space
- 27:00Speaker 2: and life tool.
- 27:02Speaker 1: He's CHACONI prens. How can we get in touch with you,
- 27:04Speaker 1: my friend?
- 27:05Speaker 2: You can go to seconiprince dot com that c I

- 27:19Speaker 1: That's when I say about Rosard. Okay, you with Rush,
- 27:24Speaker 1: you go with Rush Dog. You gotta write Richard if
