- 0:01Speaker 1: Today, I'm proud to announce that in February, the US
- 0:04Speaker 1: Navy had his best recruiting numbers since twenty two that's
- 0:07Speaker 1: a long time ago, and under my administration, the Navy
- 0:11Speaker 1: is on track to have the best recruiting year since
- 0:13Speaker 1: the start of the War on Terror, but going back
- 0:16Speaker 1: further than that, probably twenty five to thirty years.
- 0:19Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Good Wednesday morning, Ben Ferguson with It Science to have
- 0:26Speaker 3: you on the forty seven Morning Update, And here are
- 0:27Speaker 3: the three big stories you need to know about. First up,
- 0:31Speaker 3: Democrats are now putting together a team to travel to
- 0:34Speaker 3: Al Salvador to demand the release of a man who
- 0:38Speaker 3: broke into America who's apparently a member of the MS
- 0:42Speaker 3: thirteen gang, which has been declared a terrorists organization that
- 0:47Speaker 3: who the Democrats are defended. And I'll give you all
- 0:50Speaker 3: the details in just a moment. Also, EPA Chief Lee
- 0:55Speaker 3: Zelden is now leading the largest deregulation action in the
- 1:00Speaker 3: history of this country. How much money's gonna save you
- 1:03Speaker 3: billions and billions, And I'll have that story for you
- 1:06Speaker 3: as well. And finally, the money it's being cut off
- 1:11Speaker 3: as Harvard refuses to comply with federal law, and the
- 1:15Speaker 3: Trump administration is saying, well, good luck, because you're not
- 1:18Speaker 3: getting the money from the United States government. It's the
- 1:21Speaker 3: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Now, story number one. So this is not a joke.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Democrats right now are going all in and quote intensifying
- 1:33Speaker 3: their efforts to secure the release of Kilmar Albrego Garcia.
- 1:40Speaker 3: He is that man from Maryland who was deported to
- 1:43Speaker 3: El Salvador and currently being detained in the country's high
- 1:47Speaker 3: security terrorism confinement center. Senator Chris van Holland as leading
- 1:54Speaker 3: the way with Democrats who thinks somehow this is going
- 1:57Speaker 3: to be a winning issue with the American people. He
- 2:01Speaker 3: has announced plans to travel to El Salvador for what
- 2:05Speaker 3: is nothing but a photo op, because we just heard
- 2:08Speaker 3: from the president of El Salvador and he's like, we're
- 2:10Speaker 3: not releasing him, and why is he going to quote
- 2:13Speaker 3: advocate for the man's release, stating is intent to meet
- 2:18Speaker 3: with the Salvadorian officials and visit the detention facility to
- 2:21Speaker 3: quote check on Garcia as well. Being now, I am
- 2:25Speaker 3: glad to know that they know where he is because
- 2:28Speaker 3: in another photo op, his wife said we don't know
- 2:33Speaker 3: where he is, hours after the senator said we're going
- 2:37Speaker 3: to see him in the prison. Take a listen to
- 2:41Speaker 3: the propaganda from MSNBC is they have also decided to
- 2:46Speaker 3: go all in to back the illegal immigrant over the
- 2:51Speaker 3: American people.
- 2:53Speaker 4: The wife of Kilmar Abrego Garcia just spoke outside of
- 2:56Speaker 4: a courthouse in Maryland ahead of a hearing about his
- 2:58Speaker 4: wrongful deep or his mistaken deportation to El Salvador.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Today is thirty four days of after his disappearance, and
- 3:10Speaker 5: I stand before you filled with spirit that refuses to
- 3:15Speaker 5: bring down I will not stop fighting until I see
- 3:19Speaker 5: my husband alive. Kill Mar, if you can hear me,
- 3:24Speaker 5: stay strong. God hasn't forgotten about you. Our children are
- 3:29Speaker 5: asking when would you come home, and I pray for
- 3:33Speaker 5: the day I tell them the time and date that
- 3:35Speaker 5: you'll return. As we continue through Holy Week, my heart
- 3:40Speaker 5: aches for my husband, who should have been here leading
- 3:43Speaker 5: our Easter prayers. Instead, I find myself leading with the
- 3:49Speaker 5: Trump administration and the Buquet administration to stop playing political
- 3:55Speaker 5: games with the life of kill Maar.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Now this is clearly Properanda. You heard the wife there say,
- 4:02Speaker 3: today is thirty four days of after his disappearance. Well,
- 4:07Speaker 3: you know where he is. He hasn't actually been disappeared,
- 4:10Speaker 3: because he was arrested, and you know where he has
- 4:13Speaker 3: been sent and they're center saying they're going to check
- 4:16Speaker 3: on him.
- 4:17Speaker 6: Now.
- 4:17Speaker 3: If you think that Democrats are going to give up
- 4:20Speaker 3: on this, you are wrong. Even the Trump borders are
- 4:24Speaker 3: talking about how all of this went down and how
- 4:28Speaker 3: El Salvador. He's saying, look, they can give him back
- 4:31Speaker 3: if they want to. It's pretty clear that the L
- 4:34Speaker 3: Salvador president said we're not sending him back because why
- 4:38Speaker 3: he's our citizen.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Tom, how do you respond to these Democratic lawmakers, including
- 4:43Speaker 4: Van Holland, who say they're going to now ask for
- 4:46Speaker 4: a meeting with the president there in El Salvador. They're
- 4:49Speaker 4: going to travel there and demand his release.
- 4:52Speaker 6: Well, good luck with that, Carol. Evan's exactly right.
- 4:55Speaker 7: Every time I read a story about this as Maryland father,
- 4:57Speaker 7: Maryland father, they don't mention he's a member of of
- 5:00Speaker 7: MS thirteen, who a doesign eight terrorists could one most
- 5:03Speaker 7: violent gangs in the world. They don't mention he's MS
- 5:06Speaker 7: thirteen member. They don't mention he's an Al salvadoran citizen
- 5:10Speaker 7: being held by the country of Al Salvador.
- 5:12Speaker 6: Al Salvador makes that decision.
- 5:13Speaker 7: Now, the court said we gotta facilitate, will facilitate, but
- 5:18Speaker 7: L Salvador has full authority on this again a terrorist trat. Now, Now,
- 5:23Speaker 7: if somehow he comes back and that happens, he's going
- 5:26Speaker 7: to be detained and removed again.
- 5:28Speaker 6: He's an MS thirteen gang member.
- 5:30Speaker 7: Based on our intelligence and Al Salvador's intelligence, he will
- 5:33Speaker 7: be detained and he will be deported. But what's the
- 5:35Speaker 7: sense of bringing someone back to simply go and face
- 5:38Speaker 7: deportation again. He's a public safety treat he's a gang member,
- 5:41Speaker 7: he's a designated terrorist. We should not be bringing any
- 5:44Speaker 7: of those people back to the United States.
- 5:46Speaker 6: That's my opinion.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Isn't it amazing that the wife doesn't tell you that
- 5:50Speaker 3: her husband is a member of the MS thirteen gang,
- 5:53Speaker 3: which is also a terrorist organization. Isn't an amazing that
- 5:56Speaker 3: MSNBC also refuses to tell you why he was actually
- 6:01Speaker 3: deported from this country. Senator Kennedy, however, was on MSNBC
- 6:06Speaker 3: just kidding, No, he wasn't. He was on Fox News Channel,
- 6:09Speaker 3: where the same people are he was asked about this
- 6:13Speaker 3: entire issue. Take a listen.
- 6:16Speaker 8: I think the President's right. If you're in our country illegally,
- 6:24Speaker 8: you're a criminal. Illegal immigration is illegal.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Duh.
- 6:29Speaker 8: And I think they're a plenty of laws which President
- 6:33Speaker 8: Biden ignored that allow us to deport you. I mean,
- 6:37Speaker 8: to me, it's just straightforward, and people who oppose that approach,
- 6:42Speaker 8: it seems to me, are not being intellectually honest. They
- 6:46Speaker 8: just ought to go ahead and admit they support open borders.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Senator Kennedy is absolutely right, he said the same way
- 6:53Speaker 3: I would have. The President is right, and if you're
- 6:56Speaker 3: in this country illegally, you're a criminal. Illegal immigration is illegal.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Duh.
- 7:01Speaker 3: And I think there's plenty of laws which President Biden
- 7:05Speaker 3: ignored that allowed us to deport you. That is exactly
- 7:09Speaker 3: why we are seeing law and order now. And we're
- 7:12Speaker 3: also seeing the Democrats choosing sides. They are not in
- 7:15Speaker 3: favor of keeping you safe. They are not in favor
- 7:18Speaker 3: of going after MS thirteen gang members. They're not in
- 7:22Speaker 3: favor of deporting people that are a danger to your family.
- 7:27Speaker 3: And that's why President Trump is doing it now. As
- 7:30Speaker 3: for these Democrats, they're going all in to protect the
- 7:33Speaker 3: people that aren't even citizens of this country that broke in.
- 7:37Speaker 3: So let that sit in and decide which side of
- 7:39Speaker 3: the aisle you're gonna sit on on this issue.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Next story number two, Saving you money.
- 7:44Speaker 3: It is a promise that Donald Trump said he was
- 7:47Speaker 3: going to make good on when it came to government waste,
- 7:49Speaker 3: fraud and abuse. We know what Doge has been doing,
- 7:52Speaker 3: but we now have found out other ways that the
- 7:55Speaker 3: President is helping make Americans more money. And this is
- 7:58Speaker 3: coming from the EPA. Eight minute Traitor Lee's Zelden. He
- 8:01Speaker 3: said in an interview that he is quote shocked by
- 8:05Speaker 3: how much money we are able to save with quote
- 8:08Speaker 3: the largest deregulatory action ever slashing quote trillions of dollars
- 8:14Speaker 3: in deregulation. The Environmental Protection Agency chief Zelden spoke during
- 8:20Speaker 3: a roundtable with Breitbart News editor in chief about what
- 8:24Speaker 3: all is happening and the agency's efforts to slash government waste, fraud,
- 8:29Speaker 3: and abuse. The EPA administrator, a former congressman, has now
- 8:33Speaker 3: moved to cancel over twenty two billion in contracts as
- 8:38Speaker 3: part of President Donald Trump's initiative to eliminate diversity, equity
- 8:44Speaker 3: and inclusion policies known as DEI. He also has said
- 8:48Speaker 3: that they are canceling environmental justice grants and canceling other
- 8:54Speaker 3: government spending that is basically just straight up waste and fraud.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Zelden inmphasis size the degree to which the administration has
- 9:02Speaker 3: been able to make significant savings by cutting Zelden said
- 9:07Speaker 3: the agency's annual operating budget is ten billion dollars, while
- 9:12Speaker 3: they have been able to cut twenty two billion in
- 9:15Speaker 3: grants alone. Yes, twenty two billion in grants now, the
- 9:20Speaker 3: leader of the agency said, quote, one month ago, we
- 9:24Speaker 3: announced that it amounts to the largest deregulatory action the
- 9:27Speaker 3: history of the United States of America. One agency will
- 9:31Speaker 3: do more deregulation in twenty twenty five than entire federal
- 9:36Speaker 3: government wide deregulatory efforts ever of any administration. He went
- 9:42Speaker 3: on to say, We're going to have trillions of dollars
- 9:45Speaker 3: of deregulation just in the EPA, just in twenty twenty five.
- 9:51Speaker 3: We're going to do all this while creating jobs, including
- 9:54Speaker 3: in the auto sector. We're going to make it easier
- 9:58Speaker 3: to buy a home, make it easier to be able
- 10:01Speaker 3: to heat your home. This is the mandate. This is
- 10:05Speaker 3: the term mandate. This is what people voted for last November,
- 10:10Speaker 3: and we're going to follow through to get it done.
- 10:13Speaker 3: He went on to say, so if you're asking what
- 10:15Speaker 3: is the future of these terms like environmental justice or
- 10:19Speaker 3: climate change, we're going back to the basics, to the
- 10:23Speaker 3: core mission at EPA. It is protecting human health and
- 10:27Speaker 3: the environment, and we are going to power the great
- 10:30Speaker 3: American comeback now. Zelden announced in mid March that he
- 10:34Speaker 3: would move to clear hundreds of backlog cases to clean air,
- 10:38Speaker 3: saying that the Biden administration focused on partisan ideological pursuits
- 10:43Speaker 3: rather than the agency's core mission, saying, we're going to
- 10:47Speaker 3: go back to those basics, and the core mission at
- 10:49Speaker 3: the EPA is protecting you the environment, and we're going
- 10:53Speaker 3: to make sure that we do that. Pillar Wani said
- 10:56Speaker 3: is clean air and water for all Americans to unleash
- 11:01Speaker 3: energy dominance. He said, it's important that we make sure
- 11:06Speaker 3: that the American people understand that the government is on
- 11:09Speaker 3: their side. Zelden also made it clear that the total
- 11:12Speaker 3: goal of his job and his department is to make
- 11:16Speaker 3: it easier for Americans to succeed in business, while also
- 11:20Speaker 3: giving us protection for the basics at the core of
- 11:24Speaker 3: the EPA, not a partisan political green ideology or green religion.
- 11:31Speaker 3: And this is exactly what the American people voted for
- 11:34Speaker 3: when they said we want Donald Trump back in the
- 11:36Speaker 3: White House. And now they're getting it.
- 11:39Speaker 2: And finally, story number three.
- 11:40Speaker 3: In a major move, the Trump Administration has just frozen
- 11:44Speaker 3: two point two billion in grants to Harvard University after
- 11:49Speaker 3: the elite university announced it would not comply with demands
- 11:53Speaker 3: for reform to stop anti semitism and other forms of discrimination.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Harvard University revealed that it will not comply with the
- 12:02Speaker 3: Trump administration's quote list of demands for the university to
- 12:06Speaker 3: make changes to its policies regarding hiring, governance, student mission,
- 12:12Speaker 3: and anti semitism. In a letter issued on Monday, lawyers
- 12:17Speaker 3: for the university criticize an earlier letter from the Trump
- 12:20Speaker 3: administration as quote, disregarding Harvard's efforts to make changes to
- 12:26Speaker 3: its campus use policies to address and combat hate and
- 12:30Speaker 3: bias on campus and enhance campus safety and security measures,
- 12:34Speaker 3: among other efforts. The university added that the demands from
- 12:39Speaker 3: the administration invade university freedom long recognized by the Supreme Court. Now,
- 12:46Speaker 3: the requests from the Trump administration were actually very simple.
- 12:51Speaker 3: They asked for Harvard to quote, adopt and implement merit
- 12:54Speaker 3: based hiring policies and cease all performances based on race, color, religion, sex,
- 13:02Speaker 3: or national origin throughout its hiring, promotion, compensation, the related
- 13:09Speaker 3: practices among faculty, staff, and leadership by August twenty twenty five. Quote,
- 13:14Speaker 3: the university must reform its recruitment, its screening, and admissions
- 13:19Speaker 3: of international students to prevent admitting students hostile to the
- 13:23Speaker 3: American values and institutions inscribed in the US Constitution and
- 13:27Speaker 3: Declaration of Independence. Including students supportive of terrorism or anti
- 13:33Speaker 3: Semitism is one of the other things that was written
- 13:36Speaker 3: by the administration. Nine response the Trump administration to Harvard
- 13:41Speaker 3: saying we're not playing ball well, they now suspended some
- 13:45Speaker 3: two point two billion of the nearly nine billion in
- 13:49Speaker 3: federal grants that are at risk. The Harvard Crimson, the
- 13:52Speaker 3: university student run newspaper, reported this way, saying, quote, the
- 13:56Speaker 3: Trump administration paused two point two billion in multi year
- 14:00Speaker 3: grants and sixty million and multi year contracts to Harvard
- 14:03Speaker 3: over its decision earlier today to reject the White House's demand.
- 14:08Speaker 3: A dramatic escalation in its crusade against the university. Now,
- 14:12Speaker 3: if you want to know what the White House says
- 14:14Speaker 3: about this, take a listen to Caroline Levitt speaking the
- 14:17Speaker 3: media on this issue.
- 14:19Speaker 9: When it comes to Harvard, the President's position on this
- 14:22Speaker 9: is grounded in common sense, in the basic principle that
- 14:26Speaker 9: Jewish American students or students of any faith should not
- 14:30Speaker 9: be illegally harassed and targeted on our nation's college campuses.
- 14:34Speaker 9: And we unfortunately saw that illegal discrimination take place on
- 14:38Speaker 9: the campus of Harvard. There are countless examples to prove it,
- 14:42Speaker 9: particularly with the stunning confession by then Harvard president Claudine
- 14:47Speaker 9: Gay who said that bullying and harassment depended on the context.
- 14:52Speaker 9: The President at that time made it clear to the
- 14:54Speaker 9: American public he was not going to tolerate illegal harassment
- 14:58Speaker 9: and anti Semitism taking place in violations of federal law.
- 15:01Speaker 9: So the President made it clear to Harvard follow federal
- 15:04Speaker 9: law no longer break Title six, which was passed by
- 15:08Speaker 9: Congress to ensure no student can be discriminated against on
- 15:11Speaker 9: the basis of race, and you will receive federal funding. Unfortunately,
- 15:15Speaker 9: Harvard has not taken the President or the administration's demands. Seriously,
- 15:21Speaker 9: all the President is asking, don't break federal law and
- 15:23Speaker 9: then you can have your federal funding. I think the
- 15:25Speaker 9: President is also begging a good question. More than two
- 15:28Speaker 9: billion dollars out the door to Harvard, when they have
- 15:31Speaker 9: a more than fifty billion dollar endowment. Why are the
- 15:33Speaker 9: American taxpayers subsidizing in university that has billions of dollars
- 15:37Speaker 9: in the bank already, and we certainly should not be
- 15:40Speaker 9: funding a place where such grave anti Semitism exists.
- 15:44Speaker 3: At the end of the day, it is very clear
- 15:46Speaker 3: that Trump administration is saying, we're gonna save your money,
- 15:49Speaker 3: and we're also going to make sure that places like
- 15:51Speaker 3: Harvard have to follow the federal law, and if they don't,
- 15:55Speaker 3: there's going to be consequence.
