- 2:11Speaker 6: Yeah, man, what a blessing it is. I can't even
- 2:14Speaker 6: explain my whole life. My whole life is a blessing.
- 2:17Speaker 6: It really is, in spite of all the things that's happened,
- 2:19Speaker 6: contraa to having the appearances of a blessing. As I
- 2:23Speaker 6: look back on my life today, it all happened for
- 2:26Speaker 6: a reason. It all came together, it tied together, and
- 2:30Speaker 6: you know it's important.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Man.
- 2:31Speaker 6: I think a lot of people that asked me about
- 2:33Speaker 6: my success and how I got here and how do
- 2:36Speaker 6: I attribute in what was the steps?
- 2:38Speaker 2: I want to tell you what it is.
- 2:39Speaker 6: Now. Listen to me before I get started, please understand
- 2:43Speaker 6: that everything that I tell you is faith based. Everything
- 2:46Speaker 6: that I tell you is faith based. You can double
- 2:48Speaker 6: check it. You can go behind me. Whatever your faith is,
- 2:50Speaker 6: if you go back into the writings and your faith,
- 2:53Speaker 6: it's in there.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's in there. Now.
- 2:55Speaker 6: I'm not telling you anything new. I'm not giving you
- 2:57Speaker 6: a new angle. I may give you a different way
- 2:59Speaker 6: of saying it, you know, maybe hearing it back to yourself.
- 3:02Speaker 6: But in essence, man, I really do know that I'm
- 3:05Speaker 6: not going to say anything that you may not have heard,
- 3:07Speaker 6: but I phrased it in a different kind of way.
- 3:10Speaker 6: And so this series this week, I want to talk
- 3:12Speaker 6: to you about how to make it kind of a
- 3:15Speaker 6: motivational series. And the first part, the most important component
- 3:19Speaker 6: of it in accomplishing what you want in your life
- 3:23Speaker 6: is you have to identify the dream.
- 3:26Speaker 2: This is the critical step.
- 3:29Speaker 6: A lot of people spend their life squandering and wandering
- 3:32Speaker 6: around because they never identify the dream. You have to
- 3:36Speaker 6: identify the dream. You have to identify what it is
- 3:40Speaker 6: that you want, what it is that you hope for.
- 3:43Speaker 6: You have to have a goal in mind. You have
- 3:46Speaker 6: to have a destination. You know, when you go outside
- 3:48Speaker 6: and put the key in your car. You never go
- 3:51Speaker 6: and put your key in the car and just get
- 3:52Speaker 6: in in and just drive, you know, unless you're trying
- 3:55Speaker 6: to clear your head or something. But if you talk
- 3:57Speaker 6: about going somewhere, you got to have a destin it's nation.
- 4:01Speaker 6: You gotta have somewhere you want to go, or else
- 4:03Speaker 6: you're just running around reburning gas. Where you're going now?
- 4:06Speaker 2: I don't know? Left here, right here? Go here? Go there?
- 4:08Speaker 6: You know, you must identify the dream. The dream is
- 4:13Speaker 6: the single most important part of the component to making
- 4:16Speaker 6: the success out yourself. God can't bless what you don't have.
- 4:19Speaker 6: You can't get what you never give. Identify the dream.
- 4:23Speaker 6: What is it that burns inside you so it keeps
- 4:25Speaker 6: you awake at night? What is it, man, that makes
- 4:28Speaker 6: you smile when you think about it? What is it,
- 4:31Speaker 6: man that you can't seem to quite shape? Okay, so
- 4:34Speaker 6: you go to college, right, you make a decision, which
- 4:37Speaker 6: I disagree with you asking eighteen to a twenty one
- 4:39Speaker 6: year old to make a decision or what he wants
- 4:41Speaker 6: to do and what he wants to be with the
- 4:42Speaker 6: rest of his life.
- 4:43Speaker 2: That's tough because guess what this.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Young person doesn't really know himself or herself yet, So
- 4:49Speaker 6: you're asking them to identify what it is at an
- 4:52Speaker 6: early age.
- 4:53Speaker 2: What consequentially happens is.
- 4:55Speaker 6: That people get older and they wind up doing something else,
- 4:58Speaker 6: and you get a degree and you find out what
- 5:00Speaker 6: your passion is with something else. See, identifying that dream
- 5:03Speaker 6: as early as you can is important. Now, whether you're young,
- 5:07Speaker 6: or whether you're or whatever, your whatever, your identity of
- 5:09Speaker 6: the dream is.
- 5:11Speaker 2: That's first.
- 5:12Speaker 6: Now, what you have to do then is if I
- 5:15Speaker 6: were you. Here is the part that people never seem
- 5:18Speaker 6: to weld together with that dream that I want to
- 5:21Speaker 6: be an astronaut, I want to be a doctor, I
- 5:23Speaker 6: want to be a club on it, I want to
- 5:24Speaker 6: be a a DJ, I want to be a ball player,
- 5:28Speaker 6: I want to be a writer, I want.
- 5:30Speaker 2: To be a whatever it is. It doesn't matter.
- 5:33Speaker 6: Somebody is that already, and somebody had it as a dream,
- 5:36Speaker 6: so it's no dream too big. Okay, Once you identify
- 5:39Speaker 6: the dream, here's the thing. The best way for that
- 5:42Speaker 6: to happen is that dream should be tied directly to
- 5:46Speaker 6: your God given gift or talent. See that's the part
- 5:50Speaker 6: that people miss. You see halle Berry on TV, and
- 5:53Speaker 6: you want. You want to have on one of the
- 5:55Speaker 6: dresses on the red carpet, and you want to stand
- 5:57Speaker 6: there and get the award, and you want to have
- 5:58Speaker 6: the same people.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Do you had to do your hair to do Halle
- 6:01Speaker 2: and who do Beyonce?
- 6:02Speaker 6: He all that's good, All that's good, man, But do
- 6:05Speaker 6: you have the talent or the gift to accomplish that? See,
- 6:10Speaker 6: don't get outside your scope. I wanted to play in
- 6:12Speaker 6: the NBA when I was eight years old, but something
- 6:15Speaker 6: happened along the way.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I didn't have skill set.
- 6:17Speaker 6: I discovered that when I ran as fast as I could,
- 6:20Speaker 6: the basketball was never with me.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Man, that's an important part of ball.
- 6:24Speaker 7: You know.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I could jump, but I normally didn't have a basketball.
- 6:29Speaker 2: So now see, that passion and.
- 6:32Speaker 6: That dream of being in the NBA was not tied
- 6:34Speaker 6: to my gift. My gift was when I was sitting
- 6:38Speaker 6: there watching them play basketball. I was the little dude
- 6:41Speaker 6: leaning against the fence that had a comment about everything
- 6:46Speaker 6: everybody did.
- 6:48Speaker 2: That was it.
- 6:49Speaker 6: I was the commentator, the color commentator, and lord I
- 6:54Speaker 6: was funny. It was one of the few times I
- 6:56Speaker 6: didn't stutter when I was leaning against the fish talking trash.
- 6:59Speaker 6: But you took me to school, you took me to church,
- 7:02Speaker 6: you took me in front of somebody, you sent me
- 7:04Speaker 6: to the store.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Man. That stuttering just came over the top of me.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I couldn't do it.
- 7:08Speaker 6: Remember the first time I told somebody my dream is
- 7:10Speaker 6: to be on TV man, they laughed at me so
- 7:12Speaker 6: hard that they laughed me out the gym because I
- 7:15Speaker 6: had a stuttering problem.
- 7:16Speaker 2: So that caused me never to tell it again. The
- 7:19Speaker 2: best way to.
- 7:20Speaker 6: Accomplish your dream is you got to tie it to
- 7:22Speaker 6: your gift, to the talent that God has given you.
- 7:24Speaker 6: You can't overlook that. See God never created a person
- 7:27Speaker 6: without giving them a talent or a gift. You have
- 7:30Speaker 6: something that you do, and the way to identify that
- 7:32Speaker 6: is very simple. It is the thing that you do
- 7:34Speaker 6: the absolute best with the least amount of effort. What
- 7:37Speaker 6: is that that you do that's better than you do
- 7:40Speaker 6: anything else with the least amount of effort. You do this,
- 7:43Speaker 6: it's almost You can draw without you can write, you
- 7:46Speaker 6: can sing. You know how to pull stuff apart and
- 7:49Speaker 6: put it back together. You know how to connect the
- 7:51Speaker 6: dots and cross t's, and you know how to organize
- 7:56Speaker 6: things and put people together. You know how to network.
- 7:59Speaker 6: You know how to videos better than anybody. You know
- 8:01Speaker 6: how to calm people down when they when it's a
- 8:04Speaker 6: conflict that your school is something.
- 8:05Speaker 2: They come to you, all your friends come to you
- 8:07Speaker 2: with they problem.
- 8:08Speaker 6: There's a gift and the talent. You have to identify
- 8:10Speaker 6: what that is. Now, if you take that gift and
- 8:13Speaker 6: talent that you are born with and you marry it
- 8:16Speaker 6: into your dream, you put those two in the dream.
- 8:20Speaker 6: That's the number one thing. And here's a deal. You
- 8:23Speaker 6: can never give up on the dream. I don't care
- 8:28Speaker 6: how old you are. There's a scripture that says a
- 8:33Speaker 6: man without a dream or vision shall perish.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Think about this.
- 8:38Speaker 6: If you've given up on your dream, don't it feel
- 8:40Speaker 6: like you're going nowhere? You have a wake up in
- 8:43Speaker 6: the morning and just go, man, this can't be all
- 8:45Speaker 6: to it. It's gotta be more to it than this.
- 8:48Speaker 6: That's that seed, that dream, that talent, that gift that's
- 8:52Speaker 6: in you that needs watering and nurturing and fertilize it
- 8:55Speaker 6: to come out and grow. But you got to identify.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Man.
- 8:59Speaker 6: Come on, you can't give up on your dream because
- 9:01Speaker 6: now you got just the job that's helping you pay
- 9:04Speaker 6: these bills, and now you locked into the system where
- 9:06Speaker 6: paying the bills is so critical and living expenses on
- 9:09Speaker 6: top of you that you got to keep going to
- 9:11Speaker 6: this job.
- 9:11Speaker 2: So now you give up on your dreams. That ain't
- 9:14Speaker 2: how this thing work.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Man.
- 9:15Speaker 6: You can't ever give up on the dream. It's gonna
- 9:19Speaker 6: be a sacrifice to do that. To follow your dream,
- 9:22Speaker 6: You're gonna have to let something go. That's the scary part.
- 9:25Speaker 6: That's the part where people don't want to let go
- 9:27Speaker 6: of the peanut to get the fruit. So you hang
- 9:29Speaker 6: on to your peanut. Now, the fruit out there, it's melons, grapes, bananas, pineapples,
- 9:35Speaker 6: it's out fruit is out there, But you're so busy
- 9:37Speaker 6: hanging on to this peanut, that job that has got
- 9:40Speaker 6: you locked in, and you can't go out there and
- 9:42Speaker 6: enjoy the fruits of your life. You have to make
- 9:44Speaker 6: a decision. A decision is based on your dream and
- 9:47Speaker 6: your gift. If you tie those two together, why not
- 9:49Speaker 6: take a shot at it. I mean, what you're waiting on.
- 9:51Speaker 6: Everything I tell you is faith based, so remember that too.
- 9:54Speaker 6: Now you got to take your faith along. But it
- 9:57Speaker 6: starts with the dream.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Here. Let's mean to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Ladies and gentlemen, everybody, it's time again just to remember
- 10:09Speaker 6: the fact that the fact that we are here.
- 10:12Speaker 2: That's good news.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Man.
- 10:14Speaker 2: The good news is you woke up. The good news
- 10:16Speaker 2: is God ain't through with you yet.
- 10:17Speaker 6: The good news is today is an opportunity for you
- 10:21Speaker 6: to make up for some lost time. Today is an
- 10:23Speaker 6: opportunity for you to get it started, to get it on,
- 10:26Speaker 6: get it cracking.
- 10:28Speaker 2: That's what today is. Today's a new day.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Ay.
- 10:32Speaker 6: That's Kurt Franklin song right there. Yeah, y'all get together
- 10:35Speaker 6: and smile today too. You look so much better when
- 10:38Speaker 6: you smile. Nothing worse than an ugly person that don't smile.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Hey, listen to me.
- 10:47Speaker 6: This is my suggestion for today. If you're an ugly
- 10:50Speaker 6: person and you know it, but let me help you
- 10:57Speaker 6: understand something.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Here's how you know it.
- 11:00Speaker 6: If ain't nobody, nobody ever told you how cute you were,
- 11:05Speaker 6: it's it's that's a sign.
- 11:08Speaker 2: That's a sign. Get yourself. Some veniers go.
- 11:13Speaker 6: To perfect smile, easiest smile, white smile, clear smile something.
- 11:18Speaker 6: Get you some vi nears. They put teeth in your head.
- 11:21Speaker 6: Now look perfect and just start smiling. You look so
- 11:25Speaker 6: much better when you smile. Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to

- 11:52Speaker 3: Well?
- 11:52Speaker 2: No, so you don't have to Uh, you don't have
- 11:55Speaker 2: to do that.

- 11:58Speaker 6: you are, somebody thinks you find somebody gonna think you fine.

- 12:06Speaker 6: one person. You can have a completely wonderful existence and
- 12:11Speaker 6: beautiful life if you got one person that loves the
- 12:16Speaker 6: ground you walk on. Yeah, all you need is one
- 12:21Speaker 6: that one person in Wow, can't believe how lucky they

- 12:37Speaker 2: I'm not saying He's not really attractive.
- 12:39Speaker 6: But you know.
- 12:42Speaker 2: What, is it.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Not too?
- 12:45Speaker 2: I don't find him attractive at all. I think I don't.
- 12:49Speaker 1: It's amazing how you make that. You make that sound
- 12:52Speaker 1: like I realize it's just my wife that won't be
- 12:55Speaker 1: that's it. That's it, that's that one person. That's the

- 23:10Speaker 10: She couldn't describe how my house looked inside. She said
- 23:13Speaker 10: she was too busy having sex. My husband says she's
- 23:16Speaker 10: nutty and a liar. Who do I believe?
- 23:19Speaker 6: I'm gonna go with the husband. If you've been in
- 23:21Speaker 6: the house, you can't describe nothing in that house.
- 23:24Speaker 2: You line, you lied.
- 23:30Speaker 10: So she's not lying saying she didn't notice anything. She
- 23:33Speaker 10: was too busy having sex.

- 24:11Speaker 10: Jimmy says he writes, I had a date with the
- 24:14Speaker 10: woman who pulled out her card and paid for dinner.
- 24:17Speaker 10: She wouldn't let me pay for it, so after I
- 24:19Speaker 10: spent the night with her, I left the cash on
- 24:22Speaker 10: her dresser. She got so offended. I had no idea
- 24:26Speaker 10: how that looked. How do I fix my actions?
- 24:29Speaker 6: Well, you just have to apologize and say, listen, I
- 24:33Speaker 6: wasn't paying you for sex. I was trying to pay
- 24:37Speaker 6: for the dinner because I want to let you know
- 24:42Speaker 6: that I'm in a position to do that and I
- 24:44Speaker 6: really find you worth that and I just wanted to
- 24:47Speaker 6: cover dinner. You wouldn't accept it at the restaurant, so
- 24:50Speaker 6: I left it on the dresser. Please don't be offended
- 24:53Speaker 6: in any way. I would love to see you again.
- 24:56Speaker 6: I thank you a great person. I love the values
- 24:59Speaker 6: and stuff you live by.
- 25:01Speaker 2: You know, and you know.
- 25:04Speaker 6: You got to be apologetic and let her know that
- 25:06Speaker 6: was not your intent, and you deeply apologize for doing that.
- 25:09Speaker 2: That's all. She'll get past that.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Oh she will. Oh no, this is.
- 25:20Speaker 11: You what?
- 25:24Speaker 1: Yeah, let's move on, shall we? Let's move on? Filter?
- 25:30Speaker 10: Filter, filter, all right. This is from Miranda in Columbus.
- 25:35Speaker 10: Miranda writes, I have a tracker under the floor mat
- 25:37Speaker 10: in my husband's car, and I found out he was
- 25:40Speaker 10: at a strip club at three pm on a Wednesday.
- 25:43Speaker 10: He said he was there to interview a barber to
- 25:46Speaker 10: add to his salon. Come on, boy, come on, here's
- 25:50Speaker 10: this question. Here's her question. Is the strip club a
- 25:53Speaker 10: good place to discuss employment?
- 25:57Speaker 2: Anything?
- 26:00Speaker 1: So professional? Her question, I don't you don't, come on?
- 26:06Speaker 2: How can I put this? I don't think the only benefit.
- 26:13Speaker 6: Of interviewing at a strip club is after the interview
- 26:18Speaker 6: mm hmm. You know you can enjoy those delicious wings
- 26:24Speaker 6: and those broccoli bites.
- 26:26Speaker 1: There you go, and you know you can you know,
- 26:31Speaker 1: get that.
- 26:31Speaker 2: At a restaurant.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and you just ate it's three pm.
- 26:38Speaker 2: It's three pm. But we just ate. We know we
- 26:40Speaker 2: had late lunch interview. That's a that's a strong.
- 26:47Speaker 10: Because how do you know he's a really good barber?
- 26:50Speaker 10: I mean that's the point that shouldn't he be showing
- 26:52Speaker 10: you his skills?
- 26:53Speaker 6: Well, if I'm interviewing you at the strip club, I
- 26:55Speaker 6: really don't care. How good of a bobbie.
- 26:59Speaker 1: That's the story he told his wife. Yeah, she has
- 27:06Speaker 1: a tracker on his floormat though.
- 27:09Speaker 4: His car.
- 27:10Speaker 6: Yeah, just fellas y'all should get your car swept. Y'all
- 27:16Speaker 6: got to learn how to do. They got a thing
- 27:20Speaker 6: you can put on your car and then go through
- 27:21Speaker 6: and the detect devices, like if you have trackers, all,
- 27:24Speaker 6: that's at the spy shop.
- 27:26Speaker 2: How do you know that?
- 27:29Speaker 1: And where's your spyshop?
- 27:31Speaker 3: Where is that?
- 27:32Speaker 2: How do you in Houston?
- 27:38Speaker 1: Oh guys know this sort of thing. Okay, ladies, you're
- 27:42Speaker 1: listening ladies. Shut up talking.
- 27:47Speaker 10: You got all them, get some new floormat. So when
- 27:53Speaker 10: his wife says, why did you get new floormats?
- 27:57Speaker 1: What does he say?
- 27:58Speaker 2: My wife going hard and say why did you get
- 27:59Speaker 2: a new car?
- 28:02Speaker 1: You got rid of everything, all the evidence. Let's start
- 28:06Speaker 1: over figure it out. She can get five my phone
- 28:13Speaker 1: can get light, three baggs AirTags options. Girl can do
- 28:18Speaker 1: I track your phone if you don't want them to.
- 28:22Speaker 1: She can do it, and we could undo.
- 28:24Speaker 3: It, and she could do it again.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Why are you getting mad though?
- 28:30Speaker 2: Tracking me? Fault in the.
- 28:35Speaker 6: Words in the words of one of my son's friends,
- 28:37Speaker 6: Uh huh. They was working out in my jail and
- 28:41Speaker 6: he said, man, it's crazy.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Man.
- 28:44Speaker 2: You can't even cheat in peace.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Peace, happy Valentine's.
- 28:56Speaker 6: He said, you can't even cheat it. Wow, come in now,
- 29:02Speaker 6: let me talk to you. He was a peaceful and devil.
- 29:08Speaker 1: No okay.
- 29:11Speaker 10: Last one Annette in Montgomery and that writes, my son
- 29:17Speaker 10: has a son, and I know it's not his child.
- 29:20Speaker 10: I can look at the baby and tell he's so
- 29:22Speaker 10: in love that he can't see it. Everyone knows that
- 29:26Speaker 10: the baby looks just like her ex who is in jail.
- 29:29Speaker 10: I think she's trying to trick my son. Should I
- 29:31Speaker 10: warn my son?
- 29:33Speaker 6: I mean, you can tell him. Are you sure that's
- 29:37Speaker 6: your baby? Have you got a DNA text? You know,
- 29:42Speaker 6: just to make sure if you in love and is
- 29:45Speaker 6: your son, didn you you solidify, but just make sure
- 29:48Speaker 6: it's yours because baby, baby, this boy don't look nothing
- 29:52Speaker 6: like you.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know, you know, moms can tell look
- 29:57Speaker 1: immediately who baby is.
- 30:02Speaker 3: We were not the father.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, DNA.
- 30:11Speaker 10: Yeah, please get a DNA test. All right, guys, thank
- 30:17Speaker 10: you Celo. Coming up at the top of the hour.
- 30:20Speaker 10: We will have some entertainment news for you right after this.
- 30:24Speaker 1: This is Kim Whitley and you listen to the Steve
- 30:31Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show.
- 30:33Speaker 10: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. Guys, it is World
- 30:41Speaker 10: Radio Day now. World Radio Day is celebrated annually on
- 30:45Speaker 10: February thirteenth to recognize radio as a powerful, accessible medium
- 30:50Speaker 10: that promotes diversity, connects communities, and provides essential information, particularly
- 30:56Speaker 10: in emergencies. All of us are blessed. We've been doing
- 30:59Speaker 10: radio for quite a while. We're blessed to do what
- 31:02Speaker 10: we love. And we have the best audience. I mean,
- 31:04Speaker 10: we really have a great audience. And we've had that
- 31:07Speaker 10: audience for quite some time. So we want to thank
- 31:09Speaker 10: you the Steve Harvey Nation. I mean really so, Steve,
- 31:14Speaker 10: you do a lot of things for men of many talents.
- 31:17Speaker 12: Why radio on this world Radio day for you? Well,
- 31:20Speaker 12: radio has always been a great outlet for me. It's
- 31:26Speaker 12: still in our community a source of information.
- 31:31Speaker 6: We've also made it a source of motivation and we
- 31:35Speaker 6: highly focus on the source of it being an outlet
- 31:39Speaker 6: for entertainment for you to kind of forget your problems
- 31:43Speaker 6: a little bit and just laugh a little bit. That's
- 31:45Speaker 6: been one of the keys laughters like free medicine. So
- 31:48Speaker 6: radio is also the theater of the mind. It's more
- 31:50Speaker 6: challenging to be funny on radio oftentimes than it is
- 31:55Speaker 6: live and in person, because when you're live and in person,
- 31:58Speaker 6: you have the added element a visual site where you
- 32:02Speaker 6: can use facial expressions and body movements to make people laugh.
- 32:06Speaker 6: But on radio it is purely theater of the mind. Yes, sir,
- 32:10Speaker 6: you have got to, through voice inflection, be able to
- 32:14Speaker 6: make people laugh. Or that's why radio is so tough.
- 32:17Speaker 6: It's hard for young guys to learn that a lot
- 32:21Speaker 6: of people have thought in the past because we kind
- 32:24Speaker 6: of broke trends and set trends on this show, and
- 32:27Speaker 6: that I was the first comedian to do radio full
- 32:32Speaker 6: time and make that conversion when I went on the
- 32:36Speaker 6: radio in Chicago behind Tom Joyning Tom Jordan, who ended
- 32:41Speaker 6: up having a great relationship, but he had a guy
- 32:44Speaker 6: to work for him named David Kenner, and he put
- 32:46Speaker 6: it in the Freedom Call Him in Chicago that there
- 32:49Speaker 6: is no way a comedian can beat out Tom joining
- 32:54Speaker 6: a fly jock because he's just a comedian. And that
- 32:59Speaker 6: was proven wrong, and after that they started looking for
- 33:03Speaker 6: comedians to do radio. The problem is most comedians failed
- 33:08Speaker 6: at radio because they didn't have the added advantage of voice,
- 33:13Speaker 6: of facial expression and being able to see physical movements.
- 33:20Speaker 1: We, on the other hand, ahead, go ahead, think of
- 33:31Speaker 1: the three of us.
- 33:32Speaker 6: Who are comedians are doing radio. Junior is the youngest one,
- 33:36Speaker 6: and he's trying to master that art right there. He's
- 33:39Speaker 6: getting it together slowly, but surely, you know, Tommy pretty
- 33:44Speaker 6: much has a grip on it because Tommy has acting
- 33:48Speaker 6: as a background, you know, characters and all of that.
- 33:52Speaker 1: But how he started out though.
- 33:59Speaker 6: He didn't now no discipline. I had a past, Okay,
- 34:03Speaker 6: I had a past, all.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Right, because see what your uncle.
- 34:10Speaker 6: And junior only Junior's voice is very high pitched, and
- 34:14Speaker 6: Junior has to learn that when he ain't on his
- 34:16Speaker 6: best days, when he come in here and he sound
- 34:20Speaker 6: like solemn or serious.
- 34:22Speaker 2: It's kind of hard because we know your real voice.
- 34:25Speaker 1: You know, you so good at radio this morning you
- 34:28Speaker 1: a lot of people die.
- 34:30Speaker 2: You know, well, God, well, just.
- 34:31Speaker 9: Saying this morning, you told people without seeing you how
- 34:35Speaker 9: ugly I was. And I had one one person that
- 34:39Speaker 9: loved me how ugly I am.
- 34:41Speaker 1: You just told him on that huh what they got
- 34:44Speaker 1: to do with radio?
- 34:45Speaker 4: What?
- 34:46Speaker 1: Because he didn't.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Ugly take over this? Well?
- 34:49Speaker 6: He just all the lies I told and all the
- 34:53Speaker 6: lies I'm capable of telling.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Just tell me why I just lied though talking about
- 35:00Speaker 2: And this.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Is on World Radio Day.
- 35:03Speaker 6: Don't don't run over here, Junior. You know, if you
- 35:06Speaker 6: don't want the full brunt of what it's gonna be.
- 35:10Speaker 10: There used to be a thing that radio was for
- 35:13Speaker 10: ugly people. If you're ugly good on radio, you want
- 35:16Speaker 10: to be.
- 35:16Speaker 1: In Look where I ended up at. And then when
- 35:20Speaker 1: people would give you.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Morning show?
- 35:24Speaker 1: What what what you look? You don't look like you sound? Yeah,
- 35:27Speaker 1: exactly yeah.
- 35:30Speaker 13: Yeah, back in the day, that's what people used to say.
- 35:34Speaker 13: Before you know social media. You can see your favorite.
- 35:37Speaker 6: Well they don't look like they sound because dudes used
- 35:39Speaker 6: to have these great radio voices.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Yeah, like I.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Look at exactly like I, saund and Junior do too.
- 35:50Speaker 2: When you said Junior, you don't go yeah, that's hell.
- 35:55Speaker 1: All right, Happy World Radio Day.
- 35:58Speaker 6: On this show is Tommy keep trying to convince people
- 36:01Speaker 6: that he real sexy and all this here, and then
- 36:03Speaker 6: when they see him the.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Go figure stop.
- 36:08Speaker 9: Yeah, all right, we're trying to go tonight about seven,
- 36:15Speaker 9: we're trying to move on here.
- 36:16Speaker 10: According to new research from last year's census, it shows
- 36:20Speaker 10: that the black population in the US reached a record
- 36:23Speaker 10: forty nine point two million.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:27Speaker 10: Growth has been strongest in states with historically smaller black populations,
- 36:32Speaker 10: including Utah, Arizona, and Minnesota. Texas, Florida, and Georgia saw
- 36:37Speaker 10: the largest numerical increases.
- 36:39Speaker 1: So happy Black History Month. We're out here, we're here.
- 36:44Speaker 1: You see us.
- 36:46Speaker 2: How many white folks either year?
- 36:50Speaker 1: You got that quite.
- 36:53Speaker 2: How many white folks here? A lot?
- 36:56Speaker 1: Quite a bit more.
- 36:59Speaker 6: So, Yeah, make the total American populations three fifty four
- 37:03Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure it's more than that. Now we were
- 37:05Speaker 6: thirty five million.

- 56:47Speaker 2: you here. It is a strawberry letter.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Thank you, nephews. Subject My best friend is a proud
- 56:53Speaker 1: home wrecker.
- 56:54Speaker 10: Dear Stephen Shirley, My very best friend is a garden
- 56:57Speaker 10: tool and a proud home wrecker. She intentionally ruined a
- 57:02Speaker 10: marriage because she got jealous when her son's father moved
- 57:06Speaker 10: on and fell in love with another woman. I'm disgusted
- 57:09Speaker 10: because she is so proud that she's meddling in their marriage.
- 57:13Speaker 10: This man had been married for over fourteen years, and
- 57:17Speaker 10: in that fourteen years, she has had sex with him
- 57:20Speaker 10: on numerous occasions, and she even moved to Dallas from
- 57:24Speaker 10: Atlanta to be with him in twenty seventeen.
- 57:28Speaker 1: She thought all along that he was going to leave
- 57:30Speaker 1: his wife for her.
- 57:32Speaker 10: She has gotten pregnant twice and lost babies to miscarriages.
- 57:36Speaker 10: The guy knows what he's doing is wrong, and he
- 57:39Speaker 10: tells my homewrecking friend that he can't leave his wife
- 57:42Speaker 10: because of their children, but he's neglecting his own son.
- 57:46Speaker 1: He has with my friend.
- 57:47Speaker 10: They meet up for sex capaides, and his son is
- 57:50Speaker 10: rarely around when he comes over. I was in Dallas
- 57:54Speaker 10: visiting my friend for her birthday and I ran into
- 57:57Speaker 10: her guy and his wife at a restaurant.
- 58:00Speaker 1: He seemed to be very much.
- 58:01Speaker 10: In love with his wife. He was surprised to see me,
- 58:04Speaker 10: but introduced me to his wife and send a drink
- 58:06Speaker 10: to me. I am mad at my friend for being
- 58:09Speaker 10: so low down, and I'm also disgusted at him for
- 58:12Speaker 10: his part in all of this. My husband says I'm
- 58:15Speaker 10: too concerned and I should let it go, but as
- 58:18Speaker 10: a wife and mother, I don't like to see an
- 58:21Speaker 10: innocent woman being portrayed like this. Because my friend is
- 58:24Speaker 10: not only having sex with this man, she has other
- 58:27Speaker 10: men that she is involved with, and she's admitted to
- 58:30Speaker 10: having unprotected sex with a few of them.
- 58:34Speaker 1: I feel like the wife.
- 58:35Speaker 10: Should know what's going on, and I want to tell
- 58:37Speaker 10: her anonymously, what do you think about all of this?
- 58:43Speaker 10: First of all, you got to listen to your husband.
- 58:45Speaker 10: You got to stay out of this. This is their mess.
- 58:48Speaker 10: You got to stay out of it. You're way too
- 58:49Speaker 10: into their business. His wife obviously doesn't know about their
- 58:54Speaker 10: affair or that there's a son involved, and it is
- 58:58Speaker 10: just not your job to tell her that, Yes, your
- 59:01Speaker 10: friend is wrong, Yes her married baby daddy is a cheating,
- 59:07Speaker 10: deadbeat dad. But these are grown people who know full
- 59:10Speaker 10: well what they're doing. The question is, I can't figure
- 59:14Speaker 10: out why you're still friends with her. I mean, you
- 59:17Speaker 10: said in the letter, major character flaws going on here.
- 59:21Speaker 10: She's morally bankrupt, doing it with him, a lot of
- 59:24Speaker 10: other guys, no protection, trying to ruin this marriage, proud
- 59:29Speaker 10: of it. You, on the other hand, seem to have
- 59:32Speaker 10: a conscience and you don't approve of any of this,
- 59:35Speaker 10: And you and this woman have nothing in common, but
- 59:38Speaker 10: yet she's your best friend. I mean, she clearly doesn't
- 59:42Speaker 10: listen to you or follow your example. I just think
- 59:45Speaker 10: the real loser here, honestly is the son. Because the
- 59:49Speaker 10: son doesn't have the benefit of having a father. His
- 59:52Speaker 10: mom is so selfish that she'd rather have this married
- 59:56Speaker 10: man who is the baby's father in her bed instead of,
- 59:59Speaker 10: you know, moving on with her life and making her
- 1:00:03Speaker 10: son a priority. I just think she's too busy sleeping
- 1:00:06Speaker 10: around and what about child support? What about taking care
- 1:00:09Speaker 10: of your baby? That's what she should be focused on.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Steve, I don't there's so much wrong with this dog
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: on letter. I don't even know where to start.
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: It's lens, it's there's no good in this letter, and
- 1:00:26Speaker 6: even for the sister that's really concerned. And I appreciate
- 1:00:30Speaker 6: your heart, you got a good heart, But I agree
- 1:00:33Speaker 6: with Sherley one hundred percent. This ain't your business. And
- 1:00:37Speaker 6: I don't know why i'n troubled you so much. Well,
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: you done rote the dog on letter about it. Your
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: girlfriend in the garden who is jealous because her son's
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: father moved on and fell in love with another woman,
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: But now she's proud that she's meddling.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Oh, I see what's happening. So okay, so let me
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: get this right.
- 1:01:02Speaker 6: The guy that is the father of her son has
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: moved on and remarried, and this is the man she
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: messing with, right right, Oh, she's messing with this dude.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Uh huh, I got it.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: This man has been married for fourteen years, and in
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: that fourteen years, she's had sex with him on numerous
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: a caven occasion and moved to Dallas from Atlanta be
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: with him. So the dude that left her fell in
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: love with another woman that they have a son by together.
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: She done went to Dallas to sleep with him, right right,
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: thinking he was gonna leave his wife for her. She's
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: gotten pregnant twice and lost the babies to miscashs.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: Then, and the guy knows that what he's doing is wrong,
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: and he's telling your friend he can't leave his wife
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: because of their children. But at the same time he's
- 1:02:10Speaker 6: neglecting his own son that he got with the girl
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: the garden tool. Now they meet up half sex. His
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: son is very rarely around when he come over. Now,
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: you was in Dallas visiting your friend for her birthday,
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: ran into the guy and his wife. He seemed very
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: much in love with the wife. He was surprised to
- 1:02:35Speaker 6: see me introduce you to the wife and sent you
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: a drink. That drink was to keep you down exactly.
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: You know that that drink was Hey, we cool. That's
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: what he sent to drink for.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: You know, I'm cool.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: You cool.
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: Now, if you sent to drink back, he'd have got
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: up and left the restaurant immediately with it emergence.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: See, that was that was the litmus test he sent
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: over to you. That wasn't a drink. That was a test.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: You failed a test. I'll tell you the rest of
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: it when we come back.
- 1:03:05Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:03:06Speaker 10: Part two of Steve's response coming up at twenty three
- 1:03:09Speaker 10: minutes after the hour. Subject of today's Strawberry letter, My

- 1:03:54Speaker 10: dot com. All right, Steve, come on, let's recap today's
- 1:03:58Speaker 10: strawberry letter subject, my best friend is a proud home wrecker.
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: Well, you described your friend in the letter as a
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: garden tool, and we all know what that means. She
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: had a relationship with a man, he moved on, fell
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: in love with another woman. They had a baby. Then
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: first the garden tool and the man had a baby together.
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: He fell in love with another woman, moved on, got married.
- 1:04:25Speaker 6: They've been married for fourteen years. This woman who is
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: your friend, has been messing with this same guy that
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: she had the baby with, who is now married. Been
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: messing with him for fourteen years. She didne had sex
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: with him on a bunch of occasions. She'd have moved
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: to Dallas from Atlanta to be with him. She thought
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: all along he was gonna leave his wife and come
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: back to her. She done got pregnant twice and lost
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: their babies to miscarriages. The guy know what he doing
- 1:04:53Speaker 6: is wrong, and he tells tell your home record friend
- 1:04:56Speaker 6: he can't leave his wife because of their children, but
- 1:04:59Speaker 6: he's neglecting his own son.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: He got with your friend, all right.
- 1:05:04Speaker 6: So now then you to mess around and went to Dallas,
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: ran up into him and his wife at a restaurant.
- 1:05:10Speaker 6: He asked you to introduce you to his wife and
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: sit a drink over to the table. That's just to
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: make sure you was cool, and you was gonna stay
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: at the table hard walk away from drink. These days
- 1:05:19Speaker 6: they tell you don't leave you drink because people be
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: slipping stuff in your drink.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: So she just said at the table the whole time.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: Now here's the part. You are so disgusted at him
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: for his part in all of this. You're disgusted with
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: the guy that was with your garden tool friend, that
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: had a baby with her, that the moved on, got remarried,
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: got a baby by this new wife. But it's back
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: sleeping with his ex who is the garden too, had
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: two miscarriages, met you at a restaurant, sent a drink.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: Over to you. Now you can't stand him.
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: Now you mad at him for being low down, and
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: you disgusted at him for his part in all this.
- 1:06:05Speaker 6: Now your husband had told you that you too concerned
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: and I should let it go. But now here you
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: go with this illogic that even Shirley knows ain't no good.
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: But as a wife and a mother, I don't like
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: to see an innocent woman being betrayed like this, because
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: my friend is not only having sex with this man,
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: she has other men that she's involved.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Okay, see right there, See what do that have to
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: do with anything? If you're really.
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: Mad at the guy for having an affair on his
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: wife and kids with your garden to friend, If your
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: friend wasn't a garden to, he couldn't have sex with her,
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: but you mad at him, You ain't mad at her
- 1:06:48Speaker 6: no more.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: But she's still your friend.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: Like Shirley said, You know, I was reading somewhere somebody
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: said one time, they said, describe your five closest associates
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: and friends described it. If you describe your five closest friends,
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: when you get through, they say.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: You have just described yourself yourself.
- 1:07:08Speaker 6: Right, Because when you go up, you pick people to
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: be your friends who you are similar with, You have
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: stuff in common with friends, ain't like family, you just
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: get your family.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: You actually get to pick your friends.
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: So now you've picked this woman with these crazy ways,
- 1:07:22Speaker 6: and now you really just trip it. Now you're mad
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: at her because she having sex with this man and
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: other men she's involved with and she don't have and
- 1:07:31Speaker 6: she has unprotected sex with a few of them.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Well, then we don't know who baby these is.
- 1:07:37Speaker 6: You know, these miscarriages and the ones, we don't know
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: whose baby's these is. That's the other problem we got.
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: And I feel like you feel like the wife should
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: know what's going on, and I want to tell her anonymously.
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: What do you think about all this? Shirley told you
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: exactly right. You need to stay out there this.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: First of all?
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Can I say something here? You don't know? Said?
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: All you got to do is stay out the way,
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: because I want her to know what's going on. She
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: will and she might already have her suspicions. Don't you
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: think for one minute when he introduced this woman to
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: her to you at the restaurant and then he sent
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: a drink over to you, you don't think he done
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: have to answer this question.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: A bunch of times on the way home. Who is she?
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: Where you know her? From what you sending her drink for.
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: It's not your job to come flying into the rescue. Really,
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: it's not your job. All this stuff happened for a reason,
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: and stuff that has to come out go everything, don't
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: come out. Some things go to raise because it had
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: a reason and a purpose for it. But it's not
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: your job to bring it to light.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: Wrong.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: She grown? Why is she still your friend?
- 1:09:05Speaker 10: Though?
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: And if you think this woman, this man is having
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: that much on protected sex with your friend, she got
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: two miscages, I can assure you this woman suspects.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Something and she's just telling all her business.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: Yeah, this, this whole letter, I ain't got no advice for.
- 1:09:25Speaker 10: She moved from Atlanta to Dell. I mean everybody gets
- 1:09:28Speaker 10: out there, Yeah, stay out. Listen to your husband, stay out.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Pretty much everybody listening to this show know who this is.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Yes, she narrowed it down.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: Yeah, girl, Tony, you got her son? And didn't she more?
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: Did you hit his letter?
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: Letter? Just about Tanya?

- 1:14:10Speaker 10: All right, Tommy, it's Black History Month. We know that

- 1:14:15Speaker 10: with us.
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: I do you know, Shecherlow, we're bringing black history that
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: you know most people that don't you know this is
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: history that's not in the book, that you don't know
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: about it out the way.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: These are these are the lost stories, you.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: Know what I mean.
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: So let me tell you about this. This is nineteen
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: fifty two. Missus Doris Manning. All her clothes, the majority
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: of her clothes are out on the clothes line. The
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: clothes she was getting ready to ready work were laying
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: on her bed. Unfortunately, her dog Duke had gotten a
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: hold to the clothes and had shredded Miss Manning's underwear.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: Now he fixed them up the best way she could.
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: But when she pulled them up on her all she
- 1:14:53Speaker 5: had was the front part, the strap around the waist,
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: and the strain that came up the middle. Let me
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: tell you something, Miss drs man Is nineteen fifty two
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: is the creator of the throne. I know, y'all didn't
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: know nothing about that, but she is the creator of
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: the throne. That's miss Dorris Manning that was headed to
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: the sugar Meal and Clark Louisiana. Oh my god, you
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: owe all of the throng love to miss Darris Manning.
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: I just want y'all to know that that's the part
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: of blackheas you do not know?
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: Yeah, who knows? Yes, yeah, something before What year was
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: that time?
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: In nineteen fifty That was nineteen fifty two, Clark's Louisiana
- 1:15:33Speaker 5: up north part of Louisiana.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Did you know in nineteen thirty y'all?
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: Did y'all know Larry Renfrow.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: Larry Larry wynfre He played football.
- 1:15:43Speaker 9: Larry Renfrow in nineteen thirty working on the Model Teth
- 1:15:47Speaker 9: that's when the cars first came out.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: Four model teeth. Larry Winfrow was the first person to
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: say try that.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: That was Larry.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: Learry Renfrow.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: Were supposed to ever work on a man. That's how
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: we say trying.
- 1:16:08Speaker 13: Now generations later here we all were still.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Saying it, still saying it.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: Larry, We're from I love it well.
- 1:16:18Speaker 6: I think we all are familiar with this black history
- 1:16:21Speaker 6: moment that groover Washington has used the peanut and found
- 1:16:28Speaker 6: inventions for peanut that no one else has.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: Washington was Washington Carver whoever?
- 1:16:34Speaker 4: It was.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: Magic?
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: The music? What?
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: Here's what y'all don't know? It said Groover Washington was
- 1:16:46Speaker 6: the real anyway, here what I'm trying to get at.
- 1:16:51Speaker 6: We all understand the invention of the peanut, but nobody
- 1:16:56Speaker 6: knew that in nineteen ten. Uh huh that Charley Banks
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: was the first person to put jelly with peanut. I
- 1:17:08Speaker 6: came up with the peanut, butter and jelly shot.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Charlie Banks, your Grover and Joe, and these are things
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: we need to know. These are some black history facts
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: we didn't know.
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: Now we know.
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: Okay, just so I guess I'm clarity dog Now is
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: George Washington Clover? Is he Groover Washington Daddy? I'm just
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: trying to make sure I know.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: See, all the Grovers is in the same family.
- 1:17:41Speaker 6: If, like George Foreman, had five kids named George former,
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: all the Grovers is in the same family. Kid, If
- 1:17:48Speaker 6: you played with peanuts or played with instruments, it's all
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: the Glovers is in the side of the family. I
- 1:18:01Speaker 6: didn't really want to participate in this today but that's
- 1:18:04Speaker 6: what I tried to make my contribution. Yeah, we'd all
- 1:18:10Speaker 6: work out with that peanut butter and jelly sandwich and
- 1:18:12Speaker 6: know heep and.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: Check anymore that we need to know about.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: We got listened. Next lame, we got Pa Moore Black

- 1:18:26Speaker 6: and then took a shower and came out and invented
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: the shower cap right after that, because that was just
- 1:18:33Speaker 6: twenty five dollars gone down the drain right.
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: After that, robo women than you appreciate it.

- 1:25:34Speaker 1: Yeah I do.
- 1:25:34Speaker 6: Yeah, that's me a mind come with conditions. I love
- 1:25:39Speaker 6: you who you are, you may I like you. I've
- 1:25:44Speaker 6: been feeling at that as a Christian for years now.
- 1:25:48Speaker 6: I don't even know how I love everybody. I don't think.
- 1:25:51Speaker 6: I don't think that's capable. I don't think I'm really
- 1:25:53Speaker 6: capable of that. That's a lot I got to work on.
- 1:25:56Speaker 6: I'm not capable of loving everybody, and I know you
- 1:25:59Speaker 6: supposed to, but I just don't know how that's possible,
- 1:26:04Speaker 6: you know, because if you keep doing stuff to me,
- 1:26:08Speaker 6: and you keep intentionally trying to bring about harm to me,
- 1:26:11Speaker 6: it's gonna be really hard for me to do that.
- 1:26:13Speaker 6: And I know we're supposed to as people, but that's
- 1:26:16Speaker 6: really really hard to do it. And I think that's
- 1:26:18Speaker 6: what makes the walk of the spiritual walk a challenging one.
- 1:26:23Speaker 6: And I think that's why God set up forgiveness, because
- 1:26:27Speaker 6: you have to be forgiven because there's none perfect, no,
- 1:26:30Speaker 6: not one. I was in Vegas one time and I
- 1:26:32Speaker 6: was at this restaurant having dinner, and I was sitting
- 1:26:34Speaker 6: across the table from these white guys, about four of them.
- 1:26:37Speaker 6: It's about six of them having dinner. One of them
- 1:26:39Speaker 6: was pretty buffed hat on the tank top and everything,
- 1:26:42Speaker 6: and they were talking. They looked over and they recognized
- 1:26:44Speaker 6: me and they said, hey, Steve Harvey, why don't you
- 1:26:46Speaker 6: come and join us.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: It was just me and my buddy.
- 1:26:47Speaker 6: I said, no, no, we're good man, because I'm not
- 1:26:49Speaker 6: gonna go sit at a table some people I never
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: met before. And they were talking about, hey, man, come
- 1:26:54Speaker 6: on over with Christians, and I went, well, that's cool,
- 1:26:57Speaker 6: but you know what that got to do with me
- 1:26:59Speaker 6: wanting to eat with you though. And then dinner was
- 1:27:03Speaker 6: over and I was walking out, and they said, hey, man,
- 1:27:05Speaker 6: we really would kind of hurt that you didn't come
- 1:27:07Speaker 6: sit with us. And I said, well, serve, I don't
- 1:27:10Speaker 6: really know y'all. And I came down to have dinner
- 1:27:12Speaker 6: with my buddy and we were talking over a couple
- 1:27:14Speaker 6: of things. Well, you know, man, we're Christian. I think
- 1:27:17Speaker 6: as Christians we should always fellowship. I said, well, brother,
- 1:27:20Speaker 6: I don't really know you. I said, you know, I'm
- 1:27:23Speaker 6: not judging you, but I don't know you. And I
- 1:27:26Speaker 6: don't really sit and have dinner with people I don't
- 1:27:28Speaker 6: know because I'll get very little free time. In the
- 1:27:31Speaker 6: time I do have, I spend it with people I know.
- 1:27:35Speaker 6: So no offense to you, brother, but that's all. Well,
- 1:27:37Speaker 6: we just want you to know that we're from the
- 1:27:39Speaker 6: Church of Perfection. I said, oh okay. He said, do
- 1:27:43Speaker 6: you follow that doctrine at the church you were teen?
- 1:27:46Speaker 6: I said, I don't really go to church no more. Well,
- 1:27:48Speaker 6: how can you be a Christian that don't go to church.
- 1:27:51Speaker 6: I don't know, man, I just say't been in a while.
- 1:27:54Speaker 6: I said, hey, man, nice talking y'all, we can we
- 1:27:56Speaker 6: take a second here so we can explain you the
- 1:27:58Speaker 6: doctrine of perfection. I said, no, I really don't. Whatever
- 1:28:02Speaker 6: you're doing, man, that's your thing. Go ahead, Well, we
- 1:28:04Speaker 6: practice perfection. We are practicing the perfection of Christ. I said, well,
- 1:28:12Speaker 6: you ain't gonna make it. And I don't know why
- 1:28:15Speaker 6: I ain't just walk off, but I let them have it.
- 1:28:18Speaker 6: I said, well, you ain't gonna make it. Well, how
- 1:28:21Speaker 6: can you say that? I said, well, because my mama
- 1:28:25Speaker 6: was Sunday school teacher. I was raised to understand that
- 1:28:28Speaker 6: there is none perfect no, not one. Well, that don't
- 1:28:34Speaker 6: mean you shouldn't practice it. I said, well, go ahead, man,
- 1:28:37Speaker 6: I said, but you ain't gonna make it. Though, How
- 1:28:40Speaker 6: can you say we won't make it? I said, right here,
- 1:28:42Speaker 6: right now? What you arguing with me about? I said,
- 1:28:46Speaker 6: where is Christ in that right there? They said, well,
- 1:28:49Speaker 6: if you don't practice it, who are you to tell
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: us what is Christ?
- 1:28:53Speaker 4: Like?
- 1:28:54Speaker 6: I said, man, I said, man, look here, my bad
- 1:28:58Speaker 6: let me tell you what I'm finna go do. I'm
- 1:29:00Speaker 6: finna go hit this dice table. That's what I'm finna do. Now,
- 1:29:04Speaker 6: If y'all was all that bigger perfectionist. Why y'all having
- 1:29:07Speaker 6: dinner in Vegas? Because just outside of this restaurant, all
- 1:29:11Speaker 6: that noise we're hearing, that's what I'm here for.
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: And I well, we have in our convention here. I'll
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: say what.
- 1:29:19Speaker 6: People that's practicing perfection comes to Vegas. And they sat
- 1:29:25Speaker 6: there with their mouth hanging open, and probably was a
- 1:29:28Speaker 6: day later I saw one of them play on a
- 1:29:31Speaker 6: slot machine.
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: I just look at people.
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:29:35Speaker 6: I've had so many times, man, just because I used
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: to love going to Vegas. You know, one time I
- 1:29:39Speaker 6: had this lady was standing there watching me shoot dice.
- 1:29:42Speaker 6: I was shooting dice next to Dennis Rodingey and this
- 1:29:45Speaker 6: lady was watching us shoot dice for about at least
- 1:29:48Speaker 6: an hour, and Dennis was he was hot, then he
- 1:29:52Speaker 6: was going cold. I don't bet a lot of money,
- 1:29:54Speaker 6: but I bet I enjoy shooting dice. And I went
- 1:29:57Speaker 6: to the restroom, and the restroom happened to be right
- 1:30:00Speaker 6: over there by the dice table, so you could come
- 1:30:02Speaker 6: out of the restroom and see the dice table, the
- 1:30:04Speaker 6: craft table I was shooting at. When I came out
- 1:30:07Speaker 6: of the restroom, the same lady that I had noticed
- 1:30:09Speaker 6: over there watching us, stepped out right in front of
- 1:30:12Speaker 6: me and said, Steve Harvey, I am really disappointed in you,
- 1:30:18Speaker 6: and I thought that I should have, you know, put
- 1:30:22Speaker 6: mo on nine or something.
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: She was watching the game. I didn't know what she
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: was disappointed. I said, what you disappointed me in?
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: What?
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: She said?
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: I thought you were a Christian? I said, I am
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: a Christian? What you talking about? I've been standing here
- 1:30:36Speaker 6: watching you shoot dice for over an hour, and you're
- 1:30:38Speaker 6: supposed to be a Christian. I said, ma'am, you've been
- 1:30:41Speaker 6: standing here watching me shoot dice for an hour? I said,
- 1:30:44Speaker 6: how you get in here?
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: I said?
- 1:30:47Speaker 6: What you in here for? I'm in here to shoot dice?
- 1:30:50Speaker 6: You in here to watch me shoot dice? Which form
- 1:30:53Speaker 6: of Christianity you practice it?
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: Well? I'm not shooting dice, I said, but you're watching me,
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: I said, lady.
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: I didn't say this to her, but I walked off, thinking,
- 1:31:07Speaker 6: you know, if you watching porn, does that make you
- 1:31:12Speaker 6: better than the person that's in the porn movie.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: I'm just ask.
- 1:31:20Speaker 6: So you know what I've learned man in my life
- 1:31:23Speaker 6: that there are non perfect, no not one. Try as
- 1:31:27Speaker 6: you may, you are not perfect, And stop letting other
- 1:31:30Speaker 6: people put they ideals of perfection on you, because God
- 1:31:35Speaker 6: is really clear, there's none perfect, no, not one, not
- 1:31:39Speaker 6: even them. Y'all have a great day to day, live
- 1:31:43Speaker 6: the best life you can and when you need and
- 1:31:45Speaker 6: when you need forgiveness, go to God for because everybody
- 1:31:49Speaker 6: go need it, including them. Those are my closing remarks today.
- 1:31:53Speaker 6: Y'all have great day today.
