- 2:03Speaker 1: good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice? Come on
- 2:07Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:10Speaker 1: radio show. Y'all do took of me what I said?
- 2:14Speaker 1: But I do like I say always. It just is
- 2:18Speaker 1: a constant reminder of how good God has been. So
- 2:22Speaker 1: my question to you is, what's stopping you from having
- 2:26Speaker 1: the life that you want? What's stopping you from having
- 2:30Speaker 1: the life that you want? I know a lot of
- 2:34Speaker 1: people who have given up on achieving the life of
- 2:39Speaker 1: their dreams, but I know they'd still want them if
- 2:43Speaker 1: they could get to them. But they just allowed to
- 2:46Speaker 1: settle for so many reasons. So who I'm talking to
- 2:51Speaker 1: is you today? What's really at the core of stopping you?
- 2:56Speaker 1: What is that. Is it your friends or your associates.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Is it the fear of what you think somebody else
- 3:03Speaker 1: will think of you if you decide to change. Is
- 3:06Speaker 1: it what I used to call the call of the while?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Is it the fact that you keep thinking that the
- 3:12Speaker 1: thing that you're doing that's providing you these momentary moments
- 3:17Speaker 1: of pleasure that really ain't really good or healthy for you.
- 3:21Speaker 1: You don't want to stop doing that because you've got
- 3:23Speaker 1: just a little bit more something else you want to do.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I call that the call at a while. You know,
- 3:28Speaker 1: it's just out there. Them streets is calling you, Them
- 3:30Speaker 1: lights is calling you. You know, them girls is calling
- 3:33Speaker 1: you them guys that's on the wrong side keep calling you.
- 3:37Speaker 1: You can't seem to make a decision by the right guy.
- 3:40Speaker 1: You keep picking the wrong guy all the time. What
- 3:43Speaker 1: is it that's stopping you from having the life that
- 3:46Speaker 1: you really want to have? So whatever the reason you're choosing,
- 3:50Speaker 1: that's the reason that's stopping you from having the life
- 3:54Speaker 1: that you want to have. It's no good because at
- 3:57Speaker 1: the end of the date, here's the real deal. See,
- 4:00Speaker 1: God is available, and God is available for all of us,
- 4:04Speaker 1: and God has a plan for all of us, and
- 4:07Speaker 1: God wants to vary best for all of us. That's
- 4:09Speaker 1: the truth of the matter. So now what we're gonna
- 4:12Speaker 1: do to get started having that life? First of all,
- 4:17Speaker 1: if it's your friends, I want you to understand something
- 4:20Speaker 1: your friends can't save you. A lot of your friends
- 4:23Speaker 1: offer no real help for you. Most of your friends
- 4:26Speaker 1: don't have the answer themselves. I mean, it's just a
- 4:29Speaker 1: wide range of reasons and misery love company. So usually
- 4:34Speaker 1: when your friends are in a bad position, they kind
- 4:37Speaker 1: of like company in that bad position. Your friends ain't
- 4:40Speaker 1: going to church, You're gonna be their friend. They don't
- 4:43Speaker 1: really want you to go to church. You know, your
- 4:46Speaker 1: friends don't pray, so why would they offer up prayer
- 4:49Speaker 1: as a solution to you. You know, your friends don't
- 4:53Speaker 1: really really get the fact that if you treat people better,
- 4:58Speaker 1: people would treat you better. So what's that? So your
- 5:02Speaker 1: friends are a lot of times the reasons, you know,
- 5:05Speaker 1: to peer pressure of what and then the thought in
- 5:08Speaker 1: your mind of what they're gonna think once they find
- 5:11Speaker 1: out I don't do what they do anymore. Who cares
- 5:14Speaker 1: what they think other than you? I mean, really, you
- 5:18Speaker 1: can't let what somebody thinks if you stop you from
- 5:22Speaker 1: having the best life you wanted to have. If I
- 5:25Speaker 1: went by that theory right there, I wouldn't I wouldn't
- 5:28Speaker 1: even be on this mic this morning. I would have
- 5:30Speaker 1: never become a stand up I would have had I
- 5:32Speaker 1: listened to the people around me who clearly told me
- 5:36Speaker 1: when I quit my job to pursue this, boy, don't
- 5:39Speaker 1: you quit your job? You got a family, Boy, don't
- 5:42Speaker 1: you do this. You ain't got no bit dad, ain't
- 5:44Speaker 1: ain't no security in that. Get yourself a job, Go
- 5:48Speaker 1: down here and whet your brother, go to work over here.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I heard all of that. I didn't let that stop
- 5:54Speaker 1: me from pursuing this. Why would you allow that to
- 5:57Speaker 1: stop you from pursuing your relationship with God so you
- 6:00Speaker 1: can have the best life you could possibly have. You
- 6:03Speaker 1: gang bang because they've convinced you that this is the
- 6:07Speaker 1: family situation and love that you don't have, and they've
- 6:10Speaker 1: convinced you that this is your only way, your only
- 6:14Speaker 1: source of getting over And then you drum up these
- 6:18Speaker 1: ignorant reasons man for staying with it. But they sound
- 6:22Speaker 1: so good when you're listening to everybody else you're surrounded
- 6:26Speaker 1: by telling you why we gang banging? Why we're holding
- 6:29Speaker 1: this blockdown, Why we slanging this thing here right here?
- 6:33Speaker 1: Why we're letting it go like this here? You keep
- 6:36Speaker 1: listening to them when all in your heart of hearts,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you know this ain't right, you already know, but you
- 6:43Speaker 1: allow that form of the call of the wile, that
- 6:47Speaker 1: wanting to be accepted by a group of people who
- 6:50Speaker 1: trying to get you to accept a way so you
- 6:52Speaker 1: can further they progress. To even prove that you worthy
- 6:56Speaker 1: to be around them, you got to commit some type
- 6:59Speaker 1: of crime to even prove that you're worthy to be
- 7:02Speaker 1: around them. Then when you get busted on the crime,
- 7:05Speaker 1: what happens to that where your family had? Now they
- 7:08Speaker 1: don't come down there to see you, because guess what,
- 7:11Speaker 1: they can't turn in their idea to death at a
- 7:13Speaker 1: law enforcement center. So now your homies can't come visit you.
- 7:17Speaker 1: And then you know your family back out here, they
- 7:19Speaker 1: ain't taking care of your family because it's all about them.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Then you learn that what is it to stopping you
- 7:25Speaker 1: from having a life that you always wanted to have?
- 7:28Speaker 1: What is it? Why are you a repeat offender? Why
- 7:32Speaker 1: do you keep checking yourself back into that institution? Why? Man,
- 7:38Speaker 1: why won't you get it together. Why won't you give
- 7:41Speaker 1: God a try? Why won't you disassociate yourself? Why would
- 7:45Speaker 1: you continue to be a part of a revolving door
- 7:48Speaker 1: system and becoming the farm system for these institutions that
- 7:52Speaker 1: ain't got nothing for you? But you keep going back
- 7:55Speaker 1: in there. And then every time you go in there,
- 7:57Speaker 1: and then your little homies or your gang banging live,
- 8:00Speaker 1: little silly little friends try to make you think that's
- 8:02Speaker 1: a badge of honor. Therein't no badge of honor. Man,
- 8:05Speaker 1: that's one mode. What's one more scratch on that record,
- 8:08Speaker 1: That's one mold, That's one more nail in that coffin.
- 8:12Speaker 1: That's one step closer to that third strike where you
- 8:14Speaker 1: ain't gonna ever get out. It's one step closer to
- 8:17Speaker 1: that graveyard you keep on. Why would you not give
- 8:22Speaker 1: God a try? Why would you not go and see
- 8:24Speaker 1: what your life could really be? What is it that's
- 8:27Speaker 1: stopping you? Because see, I got news for you. There's
- 8:31Speaker 1: nothing like waking up free. I don't care who you are.
- 8:34Speaker 1: There's nothing like waking up with the joy in your heart. Now,
- 8:39Speaker 1: if you ain't gonna be free, get the joy in
- 8:42Speaker 1: your heart, the satisfaction of knowing that you accomplishing something
- 8:45Speaker 1: with your life. Help somebody behind them bars, get in
- 8:49Speaker 1: the program, show these young cats when they come in
- 8:51Speaker 1: a better way. But don't you dare sit there man
- 8:54Speaker 1: and just ride it out, and man, just go and
- 8:58Speaker 1: get the fullest life that you can have. What you
- 9:02Speaker 1: know what it feels like to wake up and be
- 9:04Speaker 1: on your way somewhere knowing that you have something to accomplish,
- 9:08Speaker 1: that you can change somebody, that you can stop somebody
- 9:10Speaker 1: from going down the roads you went down. It's a
- 9:13Speaker 1: whole lot of ways to make your life better. But
- 9:15Speaker 1: why would you not go and have the best life
- 9:17Speaker 1: you can have? What is it that's stopping you? Really? Really?
- 9:23Speaker 1: So you think that Satan really has your best interests
- 9:26Speaker 1: at heart. That Dela thing your mama kept telling you
- 9:29Speaker 1: about praying, you wasn't listening. It was you. But you know,
- 9:32Speaker 1: it ain't ever too late to get back to that.
- 9:34Speaker 1: It ain't ever too late to turn around, It ain't
- 9:37Speaker 1: ever too late to get your life together, it ain't
- 9:40Speaker 1: ever too late to seek God, and it ain't ever
- 9:43Speaker 1: too late to pray. Don't forget to pray, don't be
- 9:46Speaker 1: ashamed to pray, and don't be too proud to pray,
- 9:49Speaker 1: because prayer changes things. Prayer change people too. I'm a
- 9:54Speaker 1: witness to that you're listening to. And everybody, get up.

- 15:28Speaker 1: spot at the mall or a parking spot at the
- 15:30Speaker 1: movie theater mall or movie with either one of them?
- 15:34Speaker 1: I got a handicapped behind you abusing that? Yeah, no,
- 15:42Speaker 1: I'm not, No, I'm not. I got cancer. I can't

- 15:56Speaker 1: What do leukemia kick it in? Look like? How we know?

- 16:08Speaker 1: a relationship full of one night ain't hard to find
- 16:12Speaker 1: it all. I open my eyes, I can find one
- 16:17Speaker 1: of them. Get If you got a good past, you
- 16:21Speaker 1: can get one nice. You got a good ball and
- 16:28Speaker 1: a good ball park spot, you get one nice sand
- 16:33Speaker 1: all right? What's more difficult to find a great first
- 16:35Speaker 1: date spot or a great spot to break up with someone?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Break up spot breaks by hard with you. When I

- 17:27Speaker 1: lot of things going on in the world. Okay, so Junior,
- 17:30Speaker 1: what are you concerned about? We have, Junior, what you're
- 17:32Speaker 1: concerning about? You? I'm not lying. I'm seriously concerned. What
- 17:37Speaker 1: I'm really serious? No, I'm so serious. What I'm serious.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I'm so serious. I put the lots on this lot
- 17:43Speaker 1: of time, but I woke up from mom on this
- 17:45Speaker 1: and I'm gonna be concerned. I'm concerned about babies will
- 17:47Speaker 1: receive Man, I really say that, very scar that's very scared.
- 17:54Speaker 1: The baby didn't even have a shot and then and
- 17:58Speaker 1: can I can I stay on that? Come on? I mean,
- 18:01Speaker 1: we're concerned about these things. Here's what concerned me about
- 18:05Speaker 1: these babies. Babies with their own luggage? How much stuff
- 18:10Speaker 1: do they need? Why you dragging this baby to that
- 18:14Speaker 1: point they old roller bad baby have lugged like he
- 18:19Speaker 1: ain't paid for a damn ticket. Go ahead, stay on
- 18:25Speaker 1: the baby. I'm worried and concerned about bow Legged pigeon
- 18:29Speaker 1: told babies. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, when
- 18:34Speaker 1: you both for them, it's an issue. Bow Legged Pigeon
- 18:37Speaker 1: told baby. I'm telling you need to be concerned. That
- 18:41Speaker 1: is all because what this baby gonna grow up to
- 18:44Speaker 1: be exactly? I don't know what point are we supposed
- 18:48Speaker 1: to straighten out first? You know what I'm saying, is
- 18:50Speaker 1: it defeat the leg I don't know which one we were.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I don't know what. Can I stay on the babies?
- 18:55Speaker 1: Can I go ahead? You're concerned about the baby. If
- 18:58Speaker 1: this baby is bigger enough to go down the aisle
- 19:01Speaker 1: and get the damned pamthers hisself and bring them back
- 19:05Speaker 1: and put him in the basket, he can go pee
- 19:08Speaker 1: when he needs to p Yeah, I'm concerned. We concerned
- 19:12Speaker 1: about this. I'm just stuff we're seeing the community that
- 19:15Speaker 1: is happening. Are we're still concerned? Yeah? You know what
- 19:18Speaker 1: that's I'm concerned about. I'm just gonna say that I'm
- 19:21Speaker 1: really concerning. What is it because I want you to
- 19:26Speaker 1: understand it. We really example, I really am concerned about
- 19:28Speaker 1: white people stepping in for black pop. What do you
- 19:32Speaker 1: mean another way, when you see two black people argue
- 19:34Speaker 1: and you white, don't jump your ass. Don't don't don't,
- 19:40Speaker 1: don't don't come in there with hey, buddy, don't do that.
- 19:45Speaker 1: That is what y'all need not to. That has gotten
- 19:50Speaker 1: more altercation started from the person they really was mad
- 19:53Speaker 1: at you quit speaking. When you see two black people
- 19:57Speaker 1: are don't chump in there, what are you talking about? Seller,
- 20:00Speaker 1: don't go in there with that, Get up off the floor. Dave,
- 20:04Speaker 1: the love small white people trying to pick up black fights.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Both just telling we concern What can I just say
- 20:14Speaker 1: this because Shirley is saying it. Shout out to Dave,
- 20:17Speaker 1: I know who is white. Yes, we love Dave, but
- 20:23Speaker 1: you notice you don't try to bring up our fights
- 20:25Speaker 1: at all. All right, listen, guys coming up next the
- 20:30Speaker 1: nephew in the building with run that praying back right
- 20:33Speaker 1: after this. You're listening, all right? Coming up at the
- 20:39Speaker 1: top of the hour, entertainment news, US women's soccer team

- 34:54Speaker 1: That's because after more than a century, the legendary Black

- 35:06Speaker 1: Morton Luther King Junior, the election of Barack Obama, and
- 35:09Speaker 1: also wrote about everyday life for Black Americans. At one
- 35:12Speaker 1: point it was all we had. They are now just
- 35:14Speaker 1: digital people on the Gulf Coast, Mississippi wanting not to
- 35:17Speaker 1: go into the water because they say toxic blooms of

- 36:35Speaker 1: up in a blanket. Doctor Rowe tweeted about the incident
- 36:39Speaker 1: and included a photo of what she was wearing. So,

- 53:46Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley. My boyfriend and I have been living
- 53:49Speaker 1: together for a year. We've been together for nine years.
- 53:53Speaker 1: I have three kids that live with us, and his
- 53:56Speaker 1: mom lives with us too. My boyfriend works long hours
- 54:00Speaker 1: to make sure that our finances are taken care of,
- 54:03Speaker 1: and I work full time too. We split the household
- 54:07Speaker 1: chores and send My older kids are out of school
- 54:10Speaker 1: for the summer. They have chores that we expect them
- 54:13Speaker 1: to do daily. I can't say that it really helps
- 54:16Speaker 1: us out, but they don't because they don't always do
- 54:19Speaker 1: their chores. They also tend to bother things in the
- 54:22Speaker 1: house that don't belong to them, and eat and drink
- 54:24Speaker 1: whenever they whatever they want all day long. This is
- 54:28Speaker 1: causing a problem with my boyfriend because he thinks I
- 54:31Speaker 1: should have more control over them. If he says anything
- 54:36Speaker 1: to them, they tell him that he has no right
- 54:38Speaker 1: to talk to them like that, and they ignore him.
- 54:43Speaker 1: After one of their big blowups, one of the kids
- 54:45Speaker 1: told my boyfriend that she does not like him. He
- 54:49Speaker 1: told her that he hates her and her siblings. Kids
- 54:55Speaker 1: will be kids and they say things they should and
- 54:57Speaker 1: so I expected my man to know better than to
- 55:00Speaker 1: respond that way. I asked him to apologize and talk
- 55:03Speaker 1: to the kids, but he won't. I have been sleeping
- 55:06Speaker 1: in the living room because my boyfriend won't talk to
- 55:09Speaker 1: me because I defended my kids. My kids won't talk
- 55:12Speaker 1: to me because they think that I have led him
- 55:14Speaker 1: slide with talking to them crazy. I love my boyfriend
- 55:17Speaker 1: and I love my kids, so I need some advice here.
- 55:20Speaker 1: I do not want my kids mistreated, and I won't
- 55:23Speaker 1: tolerate them being disrespectful to him. I have no clue
- 55:26Speaker 1: what to do right now. He hate my kids? Please help.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Hate is a strong word, but I will say this.
- 55:33Speaker 1: I don't like your kids, all right. They do seem disrespectful.
- 55:37Speaker 1: You asked them to do chores around the house. They
- 55:40Speaker 1: don't do their chores. I mean, when we were kids,
- 55:42Speaker 1: we couldn't just eat and drink whenever we wanted to.
- 55:45Speaker 1: There were rules, there were rules. Get out of that refrigerator.
- 55:48Speaker 1: What are you doing in that refrigerator? You just ate
- 55:51Speaker 1: stuff like that. We used to hear so we you know,
- 55:54Speaker 1: we were trained not to do that. Okay, you do
- 55:56Speaker 1: need more discipline and control over these kids. He's absolutely
- 56:01Speaker 1: right now as far as him saying he hates your
- 56:04Speaker 1: kids and her or her siblings, that's kind of harsh
- 56:08Speaker 1: coming from an adult male, It really is. You didn't
- 56:12Speaker 1: tell us how old your kids were, but I'm assuming
- 56:14Speaker 1: they're at least teenagers because they have some mouths on them.
- 56:17Speaker 1: They had a big blow up. One of your kids
- 56:19Speaker 1: told your boyfriend that she doesn't like him and that
- 56:23Speaker 1: he's talking to them crazy. They don't talk to you
- 56:26Speaker 1: because you let him talk to them crazy. You're in
- 56:29Speaker 1: the middle of this, but you don't have to be.
- 56:32Speaker 1: You got to reel these kids in, okay, and make
- 56:37Speaker 1: them do their chores and be respectful. Okay. It's a
- 56:40Speaker 1: whole bunch of people in this house. You guys need
- 56:43Speaker 1: some order around here, and it starts with you. You can't.
- 56:47Speaker 1: You shouldn't be in the middle where you have to
- 56:48Speaker 1: choose between your man and your kids. Just discipline your kids.
- 56:52Speaker 1: You and your man be on one accord with the
- 56:54Speaker 1: kids and try to all get along. But yeah, I
- 56:58Speaker 1: think your kids are out of order, and you need
- 57:00Speaker 1: to I agree with your man, get some control, junior.
- 57:03Speaker 1: I'm with the boyfriend. I'm dead owned with the boyfriend
- 57:06Speaker 1: because I know these kids are because I've been in
- 57:08Speaker 1: these relationships. See, I've been in these relationships where you
- 57:10Speaker 1: know when you're dating the girls, she got kids. I
- 57:13Speaker 1: hate the damn kids too, I really do, because they
- 57:16Speaker 1: sold disrespect. First of all, you played all this hibot hop,
- 57:20Speaker 1: that hibot hop, that music. We can't have said it.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Turn that down. That's his problem. He come home and work.
- 57:29Speaker 1: The man go to work, he come home. Yeah, but
- 57:33Speaker 1: he does too, and he come home and only wants
- 57:35Speaker 1: to be quiet. But the kids is disrespectful. I know.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Put your damn pants up. He got to say this
- 57:40Speaker 1: every day. I with the boyfriend. I don't the dog
- 57:44Speaker 1: take you and your mom and roll out still go
- 57:48Speaker 1: ahead and leave. No, no, take your mom. Ain't go
- 57:51Speaker 1: away because she do too. So you got it's her
- 57:54Speaker 1: and her kids and him and his mom. They both fighting,
- 57:57Speaker 1: these kids and different. I bet you just swung on
- 57:59Speaker 1: the kids. Be god, Mama tell you the kid the
- 58:01Speaker 1: swaanho do? Why the mama don't like the kid? Now,
- 58:04Speaker 1: he don't like the kid because they swam with his mom.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Now we got real turf war here, turf war. Yeah,
- 58:10Speaker 1: this real turf boar. Here go whoop these kids. Damn
- 58:13Speaker 1: they daddy, he ain't down, go down all this hivoted hot.
- 58:19Speaker 1: They've been together for nine years. Seems like they would
- 58:21Speaker 1: have worked out this little problem exactly. Yeah, he was
- 58:24Speaker 1: just coming by for eight don't live together for one.
- 58:27Speaker 1: He was coming by here. But that there you got
- 58:30Speaker 1: to do, somebody, kid, You do all right? Thank you,
- 58:33Speaker 1: junior Jay. It is your turn subject my man or
- 58:36Speaker 1: my kids. What you got jay, very easy, very easy.
- 58:39Speaker 1: What he needs to do is put the fear of
- 58:42Speaker 1: God in these kids. You need to talk to him
- 58:44Speaker 1: with real slow voice. I don't like long, and y'all
- 58:47Speaker 1: don't like me. The only reason I'm here is because
- 58:50Speaker 1: what your mama do to me when that dough is closed.
- 58:54Speaker 1: When you see that dough close and me and your
- 58:57Speaker 1: mama and you hit him noises, that ain't mean. It's
- 59:00Speaker 1: your mama making them noise. That's why I'm here. So
- 59:03Speaker 1: y'all can be as mean as you want to, But
- 59:06Speaker 1: when you see popcorn grease bubbling on the stove, me
- 59:09Speaker 1: and your mama about to get it on. Okay, So
- 59:12Speaker 1: I'm not going nowhere ever ever. Hate me all you
- 59:18Speaker 1: want to, but I love what your mama do to
- 59:21Speaker 1: me when they're do close. That'll trip those kids out
- 59:25Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah yeah, ain't just what was that, Junior?
- 59:35Speaker 1: And that ain't just flee. These are some bad kids
- 59:43Speaker 1: right here, though, they really are. You got out all right? Listen,
- 59:48Speaker 1: we'll have part two of the Strawberry Letter at about
- 59:51Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. We're gonna hear more from
- 59:54Speaker 1: Jay and of course Tommy, we haven't heard from you, Tommy.
- 59:58Speaker 1: The subject today is my and you're ready good my
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: man or my kids? Right after this you're listening to
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, here we are
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: in the middle of the Strawberry Letter, subject my man
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: or my kids. To recap for you, A young a
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: young lady wrote this letter. She and her boyfriend have
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: been living together for about a year now. They've been
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: together altogether about nine years. She has three kids that
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: live with them, His mom lives with them two. Boyfriend
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: works long hours, she works a full time job. They
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: split the household finances and chores, and the kids are
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: supposed to do their chores, but they don't really do
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: the chores. They don't really do it. What they do
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: is crazy stuff like bother things in the house that
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: don't belong to them, eat and drink whenever they want
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: to all day long. And of course the boyfriend, you know,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: when he comes home he wants a snack is on
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: because why because your kids have have eaten it up.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: So if he says anything to the kids about it,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: they get an attitude. They tell him he has no
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: right to talk to them. You ain't my daddy. You
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: know all of that. You know, you know, you know
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: he's heard all of that. So they had a big
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: blow up. The daughter said she hated him. He said,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: I hate you and your siblings. So that's where we
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: are with it. The woman is in the middle. The
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: man is mad at her because she's not hang on Tommy,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: because she's not controlled. He says, she's not controlling her kids.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: So it's just a big mess and she doesn't know
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: what to do. He hates her kids, so she's like
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: asking for help. All right, Jay, you wanted to finish up,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: and then we're gonna throw it to Tommy. We're talking
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: about how you gotta put the field, God, and these kids.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: You gotta go straight with some mama jokes. Hit him
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: with a few mama jokes. I know I'm not your daddy,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: but guess what, your mama don't know who your daddy
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: is either. Don't nobody know who you dad is. Okay,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: thank you, Jay, Tommy, you're up all right. I can
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: fix this problem for Okay. You got to raise these
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: kids the way we were raised. All right, So this
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: is what I want you to do. You and your
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: man got to get on one a card. Here's what
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: we do. Eight o'clock in the morning, in the morning,
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: before y'all go to work. Put them kids outside, love
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: them down, Yes, yes, put them out. What happened when
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: you when in the summer, when when you was growing up,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: you went outside and you couldn't come back in there
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: until six and seven o'clock in the evening. They might
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: right a wrong lock. They asses out, leave your mama
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: in there. These other things you put outside, You put
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: some cups, you put a jaw pickers. Okay, you put
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: some summer sausages and some crackers and some cheek Okay,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: they'll eat that they got and you got it. They
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: gotta rationalize that you eat it. You never loan it
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: through out the day. But that's what you do. Now.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: It's some cups and we're gonna put your pitch, your
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: water out there, not coming back in this house. Okay, whatsoever?
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: This is the bathroom. You do number one outside, Yes,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: number one is outside. Number two it better be a
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: number two if you come at this dough. When you
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: come at this dough, Mama there, okay, Mama got a
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: braided switch right there by the it's braided. You don't
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: come up in there for no anything. It better be
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: number two. It's better. Okay. Other than that, we outside.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: You're gonna learn how to play outside. I promise you
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: try this for two weeks straight, and you're gonna have
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: some real, real kids that's paying attention. They are going
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: to they are gonna give you no issue. Lock their
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: asses outside because that's the way we was. Give him
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: a ball, a rock, and they'll figure the rest of
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: it out. Rock. You didn't play. You didn't kick the
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: rock before. You ain't never. You can kick the rock.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: You can take the rock. You can take that same
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: rock and scratch it on the street and draw you
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: up a hopscotch. Know nothing about that. The problem. Lock
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: their asses out, lock them out. You're gonna learn. You
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: gonna learn. What about the fact that he hates them?
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: He said he hates hate the kids too. So you
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: think that's gonna help. If they locked the kids out,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: surely you okay, that's gonna stop him from hating them.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: We found out when we got with your family. You
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: ain't never spend no time outside. You ain't. You don't understanding.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: Are you really different? You know you really didn't. I
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: don't understand, like Carla understand, but you don't was outside
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: you are? You ain't a long time go back again
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: whenever I want to swat. It's too you could you
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: could go back in the house when she went outside. No, no, no, no, sir, no,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: those four couldn't. Yes. Outside wasn't prison, Jay, that was permanent, Shirley.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: Once you went out, you need to have everything you
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: gonna need because back the reason for fanny packs used
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: to say you were looking outside at them, and you
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: would have one in the house and everybody else was outside.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: It was really hot and humid in Chicago in the summertime,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: really it was. But you went back in the house.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: I could go back in anything if I needed something
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: to drink. They didn't set the food outside, the drink
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: drink out the water hole. Sureley you serious, Yes, you
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: actually had water in a cup. Ye, Tommy, Tommy, y'all
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: had a water hole. We had to go right Rod
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: sticking man turn turned to speaking on put your mouth
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: up onto that and that's how you drank to the
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: point when you come up you look yeah. Yeah. But
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: this young lady definitely needs to get some control of
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: these kids or she's gonna lose her man for sure.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: If you guys have a comment, please email us or
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Instagram or your thoughts on Today's Letter at Steve Harvey FM,

- 1:06:29Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Coming up at the top
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: of the hour Carla's Reality Update. But right now, Jay,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: you're up next, tell us about this big fundraiser you're having.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: This sounds exciting, Jay, Well, this came out because Tommy
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: said to me, and I'm team Timmy all the way. Yeah,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: it's just the first day I've been here, I've been

- 1:07:31Speaker 1: um PayPal or cash app, No checks, no pledges, no cash. No,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: we're gonna be cash app or PayPal or even Bright
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: because I don't want all that money on anything. I
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: get tempted the money you think about. Look, look, let
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: me say if I steal from the Cancer Foundation, I
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: got cancer so well, so you can't go to jail
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: for that. I can't go to jail, but that I
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: do have. So you're doing a benefit for your benefit. Yeah, no, no,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I'm not gonna take the money. But we're putting it
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: all together. But it's gonna be dolt of thirty. Yeah,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: keep keep Do you like thirties? Yes? Okay? Man? Can
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: I come through? Please come through? Yeah, go through. That's
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: put on my birthday. I'll be there. Y you ain't coming, No,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I definitely come like. I don't support you. Yeah you do.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: I'm coming, man, and I just want to sing Jodas

- 1:08:50Speaker 1: we keep going. You won't, Houston, I'm not won't share
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: the same Junior can sing Jodicee. Yeah, yeah, surely I
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: can sing Whitney, Hugh Whitney. It's for Cassa, that's it.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: It's a matter fact what we're doing. Doing it for
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: cass Yes, whatever you that, it makes no difference. I
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: can't wait. I've already but Jake, Yeah, that's big Jay.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Congratulations can't wait for that to happen. Yeah, because Timmy said,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: ain't never done a damn thing, prove him wrong. Very
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: proud of it, help little people at all. All right,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Listen coming up next Carla's reality update right after this
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: at the top of the hour. You're listening show ladies
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: and gentlemen, boys and girls, turning you a radio bloud
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: because it's that time. It's Carlo Fair with what reality update? Alright?
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: I love that, Thank you, nephew. I love my Let's
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: get going quickly, Real Housewives of Potomac Baby listen to
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: this all right. So Candice, she is really really off
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: the chain. They had this explosive dinner party and Candice
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: told Ashley all of her issues that she had with her.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Then Ashley through shade at Candice and her husband and
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: kind of leave, you know, through through a little dig
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: at her, saying, well, you know you're living in your
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: mama's house because you know, Candice is married and her
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: and her husband lives in the house that the mother
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: pays for. So Ashley through shade at Candice for that, babe,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: what you ain't gonna do is talk about Candice's mama
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: in that house and the issues that they have. She
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: went off, take a listen, we're not talking about I'm
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: talking my mother in my home. Talk about you. Will's
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: got my mother in my home. You didn't get the okay.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: All I know, Tommy is when I heard the clapping,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: I knew he got serious. Right in clapping, she threw
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: a blue good nat talk about my mama in my home. Yes,
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: it got really serious. She threw a brother knife. Actually
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: it was a lot. You saw it, Sherley. I saw
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: that one. Yeah, it was really really crazy. So anyway,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: Jizelle would hut messy ball. Oh my god. I was
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: not with her on this one. Carlin, she was too
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: messy on this show. Let me tell you, she will
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: be wrong all the time. But I love her. I
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: love her. She was so wrong. She was there wrong
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: with this. But anyway, she threw robbing her girl under
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: the boss. Yes, and then basically told Robin to address
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: these issues. Remember you, guys, I told you a while
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: back that Ashley's husband they all got drunk at a
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: party or whatever. They heard him say that he would yeah,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: yeah on another man. Yes, And so they kind of
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: had to talk about what I want none of that. Oh, yes,
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: there was a lot of drama with I know what
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: you want to make showtop you want clarity, clarity on this? Yeah,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: So anyway, long story short, Candice threw Ashley out of
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: her house, slammed the door and everything, but checked this out.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Ashley came back in the house. I didn't get throwed
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: out the house and come back in. So she came
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: back in the house and then she got involved with
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: some other drama between Monique and Katie and all those
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: little rumors here. This is what I want you guys
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: to do. Hit me up at lips by Carla on
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: all social media. Tell me who you think is the meanest.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: Who is the meanest castmate on Real Housewives of Potomac
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: this season? Let me know another news, Real Housewives of Atlanta.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Kenya Moore is coming back. Yes, yes, Kenya's coming back
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: to the Real Housewives of Atlanta as a full time
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: housewife season twelve. For season twelve, that's what I want
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: to Yeah, I'm sorry, what now and have not heard
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: a Charay is coming back. I don't think she's coming
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: back for season twelve, but Kenya Moore is coming back.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: I'm not watching watch to show us to do well,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: you need to be on team Kenya because she's coming back.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: And yeah, she is married to her husband Mark and
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: she has a beautiful daughter named Brooklyn. So yeah, wide open,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: so hit me up. It lifts by Carlo. Before we
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: run out of time, we could talk about all these
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: shows for a Housewives of Atlanta and Love and Hip
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: Hop Hollywood. Can you say be two k. There's a
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: lot of drama going on with that. It is a mess.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: It is a mess. O Marian's baby Mama is a
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: hot mess. All right, So we'll talk about that. We'll
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: be back at twenty after the hour, Miss Strawberry, Yes
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: we will right after this. You're listening to the show,
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: all right, Guys. I almost hate to talk about this
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: because you never know what this can grow into. Um,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: there's a tropical disturbance, depression, whatever you want to call it,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: slash storm going on right now in the Gulf. New
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Orleans and parts of the Gulf Coast got a lot,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: a lot of rain. It was flooding yesterday. We also
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: know that Delta Sigma Theta is having their convention in
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: New Orleans this weekend. Yeah, a lot of Deltas. Yeah.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: I mean what we can say is, please be careful,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: watch the weather report, Listen to the weather report, and
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: you know, just be careful because you know how these
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: things can go. Carla, I consider you are a resident
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: hurricane expert because you've been through Katrina and Harvey. Yeah,
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: you know, so I mean give us some give us
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: some good advice here. Well, it's just like you said, Shirley,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: especially you know, if you don't live in that area.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: You know, we talked about the Delta's going down for
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: their convention, But if you don't live in that area,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: this is not a game to play with about the
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: storms and flash flooding. It can happen really fast. That
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: tropical rain comes really really fast. A lot of flooding.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: It doesn't take long. So you need to listen to
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: the city officials, also to the residents. If you think
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: you're a veteran at this and you know what time
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: it is, no listen to what the city officials are
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: telling you, the state officials. There's a state of emergency
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: already declared in Louisiana. It's no telling where the storm
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: can go well up North Mississippi area, Alabama. We don't know,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: So listen, be prepared. And I have more tips on
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: social media about hurricanes. All right, thank you, Darla. All Right,
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: all right, more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: up at thirty three after the hour. Right after this.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Manhattan was
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: one big party yesterday, baby, with a ticker tape parade
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: honoring the US women's soccer child they wanted in the
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: World Cup. They want it all. In a ceremony at
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: New York City Hall, Mayor Bill de Blasio offered the
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: team the keys to the city. Soccer start. Megan Repayo

- 1:17:47Speaker 1: I need no money, no I need it. Bat man,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: you've been singing and singing in on there. Up up,
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: So Julio Iglesias is the father of forty three year
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: old man. Minded This thing has been going on for
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: three decades. That's thirty. Yes, Well, Julio Iglasis has refused
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: to take a DNA test, and former ballerina Maria Santos
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: and her son Javier Santos, who is forty three, that's
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: the man in question, began the fraternity claim like I said,
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: thirty years ago. But Julio, who is seventy five, as
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: we mentioned, had refused to provide DNA. A detective managed
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: to get a hold of a water bottle that Julio's
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: other son, Julio Iglasis Junior, was drinking four how does
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: he when he was surfing in Miami. The DNA test
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: show that Javier Sanchez and Julio Junior were brothers. However,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: the judge refused to admit the DNA as evidence, but
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: in his ruling stated that there is a clear and
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: obvious physical resemblance between father and son. Come on now, wow,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: that's great for you. Look just like look just like
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: your old aunt's daddy. But surely are like come on now, yeah,
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: so obvious. And his mama was They asked both of
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: him to sing one guanama at the same time. Sank
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: it all right, coming up next to our last break
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: of the day, and what have we learned today? Coming
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: up all right after this is forty nine minutes after
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: there you go. You're listening to show. All right, our
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: last break of the day, and lately we've been um, well, Jay,
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: you you take it away and explain what have we
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: learned today? Have we have so much gone on in
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: this shows? It's a fifty five pounds show. We stuff
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: it in a two pound own bag. I don't know
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: how we get it all in there, but we do it.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: So at the end of the show, when I'd like
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: to ask you guys, it's your part of the show,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: what the hell did you learn? Did you learn anything,
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: and over the last four while I wasn't one. Just
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: knowledge is just going through your head, so one at
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: a time, Shelley, stop here, what did you learn today? Well, Jay,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: I learned that when I get on a flight to
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: go anywhere, I'm referring now to the American Airline story
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: where the flight attendants made this doctor cover up because
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: she was coming from Jamaica and she just had on
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: a strapless romper. That was it. That was it. I mean,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: what are you? Those are the kinds of things you
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: wear in Jamaica. So I learned that I'm going to
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: wear whatever I want to wear, and you can't make
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: me put one of them nasty little blankets right to
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: cover up. I'm not doing it, washing machines, man on
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: the planet. Yeah, look her up. She looked fine. She
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: she looked fine, and she looked comfortable and everything. Uh,
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: she's a doctor, she's obviously an intelligent, educated woman and
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: just you know, experiencing a great vacation and that's what
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: she wore, a romper. What is up with this dress? Codes?
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: And certainly those little nasty blankets are not a part
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: of that. You you you, That's what I learned today, Jay,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: You learned something from listening to the show and participating
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: in the show, Miss Calibrell, what did you learn today? Well,
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: what I've learned to Jay is let's see today's show.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: During my segment Reality Update, what I learned is if
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: I ever ever get invited to Kansas's house, what I
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: cannot do, girls mentioned her mother. If I do, it's
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: gonna be a situation. That's all I'm saying. Then if
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: I go to Kansas house. From Real Housewives of Potomac mention,
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: that's what I have learned to Way question Carla, go ahead,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: didn't her mom hit her in the face with her purse?
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: I mean she did it too and errant therapy about mama.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: You can take a purse to the face from your mama.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: That's too much. Your girlfriend cannot say mama. Okay, That's
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: what I've learned to Jack. All right, Junior, from participating
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: on the show today, you had to learn something, Junior,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: what did you learn today? Well, today I learned that
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I don't give a damn how old you are. You
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: can still have a child that meet you for the
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: first time. Julio and Gladis had seventy five met his
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: forty three yeld Son for the first time. You can't
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: get happen, you father, you are the father. That's too
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: patre how you want to say? I thought that was amazing.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: I learned that was really cool. Yeah, in the words
