- 0:32Speaker 2: I feel it's necessary to explain what I say in
- 0:35Speaker 2: the morning because somebody asked me, what do you mean
- 0:38Speaker 2: by that when you say that in the morning. When
- 0:40Speaker 2: I say, uh huh, it's in response to David Hollister
- 0:45Speaker 2: opening the song by saying, go ahead, big Daddy, go ahead,
- 0:50Speaker 2: I said, uh huh, I show will. Then I say
- 0:53Speaker 2: good morning everybody. Because I was raised at Ray, You're
- 0:56Speaker 2: supposed to speak when you come in the room. I'm
- 0:58Speaker 2: coming in y'all's room, whether it's your bedroom, the room
- 1:02Speaker 2: in your house, your car, your office, you know, wherever
- 1:06Speaker 2: you're at, I come in the room or go speak.
- 1:08Speaker 2: So I say good morning everybody. You are listening to
- 1:11Speaker 2: the voice. And then I got to introduce myself because
- 1:15Speaker 2: as a performer, I always felt my best when I
- 1:18Speaker 2: was introduced. No, why would you walk out on stage
- 1:21Speaker 2: anybody introduce you. You can't get the round of applause.
- 1:25Speaker 2: It's just it's horrible. So I say you are listening
- 1:27Speaker 2: to the voice one and only Steve Harvey. Come on,
- 1:32Speaker 2: dig me now. Now that's old school. I got that,
- 1:35Speaker 2: but that's I was once again. Dig me now is
- 1:39Speaker 2: I want you to feel what I'm about to say.
- 1:41Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying. There's not a bragging thing. You
- 1:45Speaker 2: know you are listening to the voice one and only
- 1:48Speaker 2: Steve Harvey. Come on, dig me now. I'm just asking
- 1:51Speaker 2: you to feel what I'm saying in the morning because
- 1:54Speaker 2: it's part of a promise that I made to God.
- 1:57Speaker 2: See a long time ago, I told God, if he
- 2:00Speaker 2: allowed me to make it, that when I got there,
- 2:03Speaker 2: I would tell everybody I know how I did it.
- 2:07Speaker 2: And I wasn't gonna shortcut it or shade him on it.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I said, if you allow me to make it, if
- 2:12Speaker 2: you give me the strength, the courage, the wisdom, you
- 2:16Speaker 2: gave me a gift, if you let me apply it,
- 2:19Speaker 2: don't destroy myself in the process. Forgive me for my
- 2:23Speaker 2: sins along the way. Continue to hold and rock me
- 2:27Speaker 2: when I need it. When I make it, I promise
- 2:31Speaker 2: you Lord, when I get there, I will tell everybody
- 2:34Speaker 2: how I made it. Well, this started back in LA
- 2:40Speaker 2: when I got on the radio and I was making
- 2:43Speaker 2: it okay. I was doing okay, but I had to
- 2:47Speaker 2: keep my promise to God. My promise was, if you
- 2:50Speaker 2: allow me to make it, I'll tell everybody how I
- 2:53Speaker 2: got there.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I have to tell you.
- 2:56Speaker 2: That every day because if it wasn't not for that
- 3:00Speaker 2: grace and mercy, I wouldn't even be here able to
- 3:04Speaker 2: fulfill my promise, because I've done enough dirt in my
- 3:07Speaker 2: life man to not be worthy.
- 3:10Speaker 3: He could have easily walked.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Away from me a long time ago because I had
- 3:15Speaker 2: show walked away from him. See, and I didn't walk
- 3:18Speaker 2: away from him once. I walked away from him a
- 3:21Speaker 2: bunch of times. But guess what he forgave me a
- 3:26Speaker 2: bunch of times. I'm a living example of hundreds of chances.
- 3:33Speaker 2: His forgiveness and his mercy is available for everybody. The
- 3:38Speaker 2: only reason I get on this show every day. It's
- 3:41Speaker 2: the only reason I have the blessings that's come in
- 3:43Speaker 2: my way. It's the only way that things that keep
- 3:46Speaker 2: happening in my life, Man that I have no explanation for,
- 3:51Speaker 2: is because of his grace and mercy. See, anytime something
- 3:55Speaker 2: good happens in my life and I can't explain it,
- 3:58Speaker 2: that's usually him. He exhibits to me. Remember, I'm a
- 4:03Speaker 2: forgiving god man. Remember, so when you fall, Steve, don't
- 4:07Speaker 2: lay down there. Don't you lay down there. Don't you
- 4:10Speaker 2: let the devil fool you that because you'd have made
- 4:13Speaker 2: some mistakes that you ain't that you can't do it
- 4:16Speaker 2: because everybody gonna make them. There's none perfect, no, not one.
- 4:20Speaker 2: So get up, keep moving, keep pushing, step on what
- 4:26Speaker 2: you're laying there for. Your daddy didn't raise you that way. Look, man,
- 4:30Speaker 2: my father was just about manhood. I'm gonna just tell you.
- 4:33Speaker 2: My daddy never had a conversation with me about church.
- 4:37Speaker 2: He beat me for not going, but you know a
- 4:39Speaker 2: couple of times, but he wasn't about that. Wasn't his message.
- 4:43Speaker 2: That was my mama's job. My mama taught me about
- 4:46Speaker 2: being saved, about loving the Lord, about giving your life,
- 4:49Speaker 2: about the teachings of Jesus Christ. My mama was a
- 4:52Speaker 2: Sunday school teacher, so I got all of that from her.
- 4:55Speaker 2: My old man ain't had none of that for me.
- 4:58Speaker 2: My old man talked to me about one thing all
- 5:00Speaker 2: day long, hard working manhood and where you're gonna get that.
- 5:03Speaker 2: If you don't get nothing else from me. He gave
- 5:05Speaker 2: that to me, so I got it. See so, my father,
- 5:09Speaker 2: you say, excuse my language, but you ain't gonna sit
- 5:11Speaker 2: there like no little punk up in here. You ain't
- 5:13Speaker 2: what you're finna do. You finna get up and go
- 5:16Speaker 2: do what you're supposed to do. Now, stop all that
- 5:18Speaker 2: whine and like some little punk and gonna get the movie.
- 5:20Speaker 2: That's how my father talked to me. Now, I'm just
- 5:22Speaker 2: telling you real. It worked for me though, And before
- 5:25Speaker 2: you start emailing me, that had nothing to do with
- 5:27Speaker 2: homosexuality at all. It's just that was his term for
- 5:32Speaker 2: a man not acting like a man. That's all it
- 5:35Speaker 2: was he had. It was not a gay reference at all.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I want you to understand that before you start emailing me.
- 5:40Speaker 2: So my daddy wasn't calling that was not a sexual
- 5:42Speaker 2: reference for him. My father talked to us that's what
- 5:45Speaker 2: he meant. I knew exactly what he meant. He couldn't
- 5:47Speaker 2: have meant nothing, elf, He ain't even know nothing about that.
- 5:49Speaker 2: My man clueless when it come to that right there.
- 5:51Speaker 2: So when I was getting down and feeling bad about myself,
- 5:56Speaker 2: my old man he taught me this toughness. Man. He
- 5:59Speaker 2: gave me this great, this doggedness, this go to work
- 6:02Speaker 2: and work hard. That's why today, when God does bless
- 6:05Speaker 2: me with something, he ain't got to worry about me
- 6:08Speaker 2: not working hard because that's in me. And when I
- 6:13Speaker 2: get tired, I ask that same God for strift to
- 6:16Speaker 2: keep on doing so I can do the blessings he
- 6:19Speaker 2: got for me. So when you ask me how you
- 6:22Speaker 2: gonna do all this, Steve Harvey, I don't know. I
- 6:25Speaker 2: ain't got to figure that out. All I got to
- 6:28Speaker 2: do is show up with the same amount of faith
- 6:30Speaker 2: of being showing up with God handle the rest of it.
- 6:33Speaker 2: See y'all, hey man, let me tell you something. I
- 6:36Speaker 2: don't see how you do it. I don't either. Can
- 6:39Speaker 2: I get hey man, newsflash? Let me hear. I don't
- 6:42Speaker 2: see how you doing all that? Steve? You doing this?
- 6:44Speaker 2: You doing that? Can I tell you something? I don't either.
- 6:47Speaker 2: I just wake up with the faith man and trusting
- 6:50Speaker 2: that if He gonna bless me with it, he must
- 6:52Speaker 2: be gonna show me a way.
- 6:53Speaker 3: How to get it done.
- 6:54Speaker 2: See I ain't tripping on that part. See, once you
- 6:58Speaker 2: take yourself out the how to business, you can go
- 7:01Speaker 2: on and get with it. But see if you're gonna
- 7:03Speaker 2: trip yourself out with the how to. You can't think
- 7:06Speaker 2: like God can think. You can't figure like God can figure.
- 7:09Speaker 2: So now you sit up in here, God, Lord, I
- 7:11Speaker 2: want this to happen for me. Then I don't know
- 7:13Speaker 2: how I'm gonna do all that. Well, guess what You
- 7:16Speaker 2: in the way? Now, see you? Now you in the way,
- 7:19Speaker 2: because see, God ain't asked you to figure out how to.
- 7:22Speaker 2: He said, ask and believe. Then he said faith without
- 7:28Speaker 2: works is dead. That's my solution. That's the concoction that
- 7:32Speaker 2: I'm functioning on. All I got to do is accept
- 7:36Speaker 2: the blessing, keep the faith, be willing to work, and believe.
- 7:41Speaker 2: God can do anything but fail. Why would God bring
- 7:45Speaker 2: me this far to leave me? Why would he bring
- 7:49Speaker 2: you this far to leave you? So? Why I get
- 7:54Speaker 2: up every morning? I have no choice. I got to
- 7:58Speaker 2: get up in here to rest. I'm running late, man.
- 8:01Speaker 3: I try to plow through here.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Sometime I don't make it. Man, I got to do
- 8:04Speaker 2: a rerun. But I plow through here because man, Steve,
- 8:06Speaker 2: you're gonna run out something to say.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Nah, I'm gonna just keep thinking.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Now. You can't run out of that, can you? Because
- 8:11Speaker 2: you owe him that matter of fact, when I get
- 8:13Speaker 2: through talking, I really ain't thank him enough.
- 8:16Speaker 4: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

- 10:08Speaker 5: you was the chosen person? When did you know you
- 10:10Speaker 5: was chosen? How do you know you was chosen?
- 10:13Speaker 4: How we know? Good question.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I can't remember the exact day that I realized I
- 10:18Speaker 2: was chosen.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I think it came to me over a period of.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Time, because after I had overcome so much and I
- 10:28Speaker 2: was still here, I said, man, what is that? After
- 10:33Speaker 2: I had messed up so many times? But he kept
- 10:39Speaker 2: on forgiving me and allowed me to continue on this rise.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I had to feel it.
- 10:46Speaker 2: And when he started taking me places I never thought
- 10:50Speaker 2: i'd go, it started dawning on me. And then one day, man,
- 10:56Speaker 2: one day I went to Africa and I got off
- 11:01Speaker 2: the plane in Johannesburg and it was my first time
- 11:04Speaker 2: in Africa, and brother, I couldn't walk through that airport
- 11:08Speaker 2: and then I realized, Man, God had done something for
- 11:11Speaker 2: me I never even asked for because I don't know
- 11:15Speaker 2: how in the world I got famous in Johannesburg, Africa,
- 11:18Speaker 2: but I could not walk through that airport.
- 11:22Speaker 3: I mean, they was on their phones.
- 11:23Speaker 2: He is here, he is here, he is here. Everybody
- 11:27Speaker 2: came out of that hallway. Man. My wife said, did
- 11:31Speaker 2: you know this, Steve? I said, nope. We went to
- 11:36Speaker 2: a safari in a game reserve in Hoodsprift, Africa for nothing,
- 11:41Speaker 2: but villagers around everybody.
- 11:43Speaker 3: In that village knew who I was.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Well, I said, look at God. Come all right, look
- 11:49Speaker 2: at God because it wasn't me, because I didn't do that,

- 13:44Speaker 10: what's your name here?
- 13:45Speaker 12: Bro?
- 13:45Speaker 2: Dennis? Man? Dennis?
- 13:47Speaker 10: Okay, Dennis? Why she had Dennis about about three o'clock, man,
- 13:51Speaker 10: some of that nature. I mean, you know, I know
- 13:52Speaker 10: I'm the work of formers.
- 13:53Speaker 2: You know. Okay, three o'clock you'll be there.
- 13:56Speaker 9: Yeah, okay, Hey, I got a little bit of situation though, man.
- 14:00Speaker 9: That happened last time I was there. I kind of
- 14:03Speaker 9: wanted to talk to you about it, man, because it
- 14:05Speaker 9: kind of caught me off guard. So I wanted to
- 14:09Speaker 9: highly at you, man and see if we could rectify
- 14:11Speaker 9: the problem.
- 14:11Speaker 2: For I came back up there.
- 14:13Speaker 11: What happened?
- 14:14Speaker 10: I just respect your something, I mean, what was to deal?
- 14:16Speaker 2: Well?
- 14:16Speaker 9: What it really wasn't somebody man, it was it was
- 14:20Speaker 9: It was it was actually you me.
- 14:22Speaker 12: Well, I mean, what's the here's deal?
- 14:25Speaker 2: Man?
- 14:25Speaker 9: When you was cutting my hair, when it was time
- 14:28Speaker 9: to turn the chair, you didn't turn the.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Chair with with with with with your hand, man.
- 14:35Speaker 9: See Brady man, you you turned the chair with your
- 14:38Speaker 9: with your private part.
- 14:39Speaker 10: Oh, come on, say I mean, Dan, I'm a professional man.
- 14:43Speaker 10: I've been doing this fifteen years, right right.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I don't think it's anything deliberate. Man.
- 14:48Speaker 9: I think you just do it unconsciously, man, cause you
- 14:50Speaker 9: know you be leaning over on the chair cutting, and
- 14:53Speaker 9: I think you don't realize, you know, you be turning
- 14:56Speaker 9: the chair with your private part instead of doing it
- 14:58Speaker 9: with your hand.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Man.
- 15:00Speaker 9: And to see, my head got caught out there, and
- 15:02Speaker 9: I saw it out the coner my eyes. I saw
- 15:04Speaker 9: your private part coming towards my hand. I moved it
- 15:07Speaker 9: just in time.
- 15:08Speaker 2: You understand.
- 15:09Speaker 10: But see, Dennis, I'm not understanding something, bro, because I don't.
- 15:13Speaker 10: I don't. We don't operate like that, rynd here, because
- 15:16Speaker 10: you know I don't make mistakes like that. But I mean,
- 15:19Speaker 10: you know, I don't know you. You're sure you're talking
- 15:20Speaker 10: to the right person, man.
- 15:21Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, ain't you the third chair on the
- 15:24Speaker 9: right when you walk in the door.
- 15:25Speaker 12: Yeah that's correct.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Okay, That's what I'm talking about, man.
- 15:28Speaker 9: And you cut me two weeks ago, and like I said,
- 15:30Speaker 9: I really like my haircuts, so I wanted to call
- 15:32Speaker 9: back and rectorify this problem. But you know you got
- 15:35Speaker 9: to turn the chair with your hand and not your
- 15:36Speaker 9: private part. If not, we're gonna have a problem.
- 15:39Speaker 10: Okay, But I feel you and I understand your your
- 15:43Speaker 10: complaint and everything. I mean, I'm not understanding what you're saying,
- 15:46Speaker 10: but I don't do that, you know. But I mean
- 15:49Speaker 10: we will be glad. You know what I'm saying. Get
- 15:51Speaker 10: you another cut or whatever.
- 15:52Speaker 2: You understand?
- 15:52Speaker 10: Men, you know, but I don't move nobody no round
- 15:56Speaker 10: with my pride.
- 15:57Speaker 12: Man.
- 15:57Speaker 10: You know that's just not me.
- 15:58Speaker 9: Okay, I understand what you're saying, but I want you
- 16:01Speaker 9: to hear what I'm saying. If you put your private
- 16:04Speaker 9: on there at all when I come in there Thursday,
- 16:08Speaker 9: then I promise you i'mna jump up and we're gonna
- 16:10Speaker 9: have a produm.
- 16:11Speaker 10: Well, well let's see now now not right there, and
- 16:15Speaker 10: I'm not I'm not sitting that jump up having a
- 16:17Speaker 10: problem because you know, you don't really know me like that, bro,
- 16:19Speaker 10: you know. I mean, I'm trying to be a professional
- 16:21Speaker 10: here and and solve your little issues that you got
- 16:24Speaker 10: to understand it. But all is jumping up and stuff
- 16:27Speaker 10: you're talking about doing. I don't know that, man.
- 16:29Speaker 9: I'm trying to come in and get a nice haircut
- 16:31Speaker 9: and walk out with a nice haircut. What I don't
- 16:34Speaker 9: want to do is come down there, you lean over,
- 16:37Speaker 9: put your private part where I got my arms in
- 16:39Speaker 9: my hands, and I gotta whoop you.
- 16:41Speaker 10: Now, that's what I don't secrefold.
- 16:43Speaker 12: Now you're starting. You're touching me wrong, talking about it.
- 16:46Speaker 9: You're talking about I'm touching you wrong. You touch me

- 20:49Speaker 8: Coming up at the top of the hour. In entertainment news,
- 20:52Speaker 8: ray J Did you guys see this? Ray J gut
- 20:55Speaker 8: knocked out at a UFC fight? Oh Man and ranging question. Yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 8: it raises a question should unqualified fighters be signing up

- 21:09Speaker 8: arena is currently being built on the south lawn of
- 21:13Speaker 8: the White House.
- 21:13Speaker 4: It looks like a big old usually.
- 21:16Speaker 7: Yeah, we're going to talk about this.
- 21:19Speaker 8: That's all coming up at the top of the hour.
- 21:21Speaker 8: But right now it is time to ask the CLO.

- 21:40Speaker 8: I'm taking my two sisters. So my husband said, they
- 21:43Speaker 8: can pay back for the Uber black. They can pay

- 51:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 51:28Speaker 12: I don't know why you're planning or where you're trying
- 51:30Speaker 12: to bury.
- 51:31Speaker 13: This thing, but you're basically asking me to be accomplished
- 51:33Speaker 13: to something that's none of my business. Hey, I need
- 51:36Speaker 13: your name right now.
- 51:36Speaker 11: Okay, I'm not giving you my name. You said you
- 51:40Speaker 11: oh drooping.
- 51:42Speaker 13: Hey, Hey, listen to me. You said you call from
- 51:44Speaker 13: trooping company?
- 51:45Speaker 11: Are you? I'm not?
- 51:46Speaker 13: I'm not.
- 51:47Speaker 11: Hey, man, let me tell you something. Why you white
- 51:49Speaker 11: folks always trying to be a bog? Why you want
- 51:51Speaker 11: to wait like.

- 51:58Speaker 13: it's what you asking for. That sounds like trying to

- 52:03Speaker 11: Are you and you're not? What is your name?
- 52:05Speaker 13: I need your name? I'm your name right now?

- 52:09Speaker 11: You can't. You don't want to be talking to me
- 52:10Speaker 11: like this.
- 52:11Speaker 13: I don't care if I'm swearing at work. My my
- 52:14Speaker 13: co workers, the people here, they an't know who I am, and.
- 52:16Speaker 12: They know if I was talking to someone, you'd be talking.

- 55:00Speaker 2: got it for you. Here it is Strawberry Letter.
- 55:04Speaker 8: Thank you nephew. Subject potty mouth and smoky clothes. Dear
- 55:08Speaker 8: Stephen Shirley. I'm a forty seven year old single mother
- 55:11Speaker 8: and I'm a daddy's girl. My mother passed away three
- 55:14Speaker 8: years ago, and my ten year old daughter and I
- 55:17Speaker 8: have been making sure Papa Bear takes care of himself.
- 55:21Speaker 8: He keeps my daughter every other Friday night to give
- 55:25Speaker 8: me a break, and they pop popcorn and watch movies.
- 55:28Speaker 8: The thought of my dad dating someone new and moving
- 55:31Speaker 8: on had not crossed my mind until my daughter told
- 55:34Speaker 8: me about Sue. The first time she and Sue met,
- 55:38Speaker 8: it was very confusing for my daughter because Sue called
- 55:41Speaker 8: my dad Daddy. She said that Sue smoked cigarettes and
- 55:45Speaker 8: used a lot of bad words when she talked to
- 55:47Speaker 8: Papa Bear. She said Sue played uno with her, but
- 55:51Speaker 8: when she tried to watch a movie with her and
- 55:54Speaker 8: Papa Bear, he told Miss Sue she had to leave
- 55:57Speaker 8: because her smoky clothes, or he had to leave because
- 56:00Speaker 8: her smoky clothes caused my kids asthma to flare up.
- 56:03Speaker 8: My daughter can be a brat at time, so I
- 56:06Speaker 8: waited to meet Sue for myself before I said anything
- 56:10Speaker 8: to Papa Bear about what I heard. Well, I met
- 56:13Speaker 8: Sue last Sunday, and my daughter wasn't lying at all.
- 56:17Speaker 8: Sue smelled like a casino and she was cursing with
- 56:20Speaker 8: every other word.
- 56:21Speaker 2: She said.
- 56:22Speaker 8: She helped my dad cook dinner and it was really good.
- 56:25Speaker 8: So seems like the only good thing about Sue that
- 56:28Speaker 8: she can cook. After we ate, she excused herself to
- 56:31Speaker 8: go smoke a cigarette in the driveway. My dad said,
- 56:34Speaker 8: I should really put all of my judgment to the
- 56:37Speaker 8: side and get to know Sue because she's sweet to him.
- 56:40Speaker 8: I do not want Sue in my parents' home calling
- 56:44Speaker 8: my daddy daddy. It's way too soon and it's inappropriate
- 56:48Speaker 8: in front of my daughter. I hope Dad is going
- 56:50Speaker 8: through a phase and he moves on. They don't have
- 56:53Speaker 8: anything in common. Do you think my dad will figure
- 56:56Speaker 8: that out before they get serious? Well, I got news
- 56:59Speaker 8: for your daughter. They are serious. She is cooking for
- 57:04Speaker 8: your dad and everything. This is not your business. Your dad,
- 57:08Speaker 8: Papa Bear as you call him, is living his life
- 57:11Speaker 8: right now. You're the only one who hasn't at least
- 57:14Speaker 8: tried to move on. Your dad is moving on, and
- 57:17Speaker 8: Sue is the one helping him through it. She may
- 57:19Speaker 8: not be the ideal choice for you, or who you
- 57:23Speaker 8: would pick for your dad, but your dad likes her,
- 57:26Speaker 8: potty mouth and all cigarettes, all of that.
- 57:29Speaker 4: He likes her.
- 57:30Speaker 8: She makes him happy, and I do like that. He
- 57:33Speaker 8: asked Sue to leave when it was affecting your daughter's asthma.
- 57:37Speaker 8: But he also needs to let Sue know that her
- 57:40Speaker 8: potty mouth is inappropriate in front of his grand baby. Now,
- 57:43Speaker 8: I will say that he should do that, but it's
- 57:46Speaker 8: not for you to determine the timetable in which your
- 57:48Speaker 8: dad should move on. He has to move at his
- 57:51Speaker 8: own pace. It has been three years. But if Sue
- 57:55Speaker 8: doesn't start respecting his wishes concerning the baby, you're gonna
- 57:59Speaker 8: just have to stop letting your baby go over there,
- 58:02Speaker 8: because it doesn't sound like Sue is going anywhere. And
- 58:05Speaker 8: whatever you do, please don't try to force your dad
- 58:08Speaker 8: to choose between you, your daughter, and Sue, because you
- 58:11Speaker 8: will probably get your feelings hurt.
- 58:13Speaker 4: He likes Sue.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Steve well, well, well, especialty letter for me, Right up,
- 58:22Speaker 2: my alley, were gonna just go get to a potty
- 58:24Speaker 2: mouth and smoking clothes, eh, whatever, that's what your baby
- 58:30Speaker 2: don't like. That's what your little daughter don't like. I
- 58:34Speaker 2: don't like you. She smelled like cigarette. She'd be cussing
- 58:36Speaker 2: all the time. Shut showed mouth. She say that to Sue.
- 58:43Speaker 2: That was Sue, Hontell her, well, you're a forty seven
- 58:46Speaker 2: year old single mother. I'm a daddy's girl. My mother
- 58:51Speaker 2: passed away three years ago, and my ten year old
- 58:54Speaker 2: daughter been making sure a papa'll take care of yourself.
- 58:57Speaker 2: Every Friday they go together, they have popcorn and movie night.
- 59:01Speaker 2: And the thought of my dad dating someone new and
- 59:04Speaker 2: moving on it ain't cross my mind. Well it ain't
- 59:06Speaker 2: cross yo, min. It's been on his mind for there
- 59:13Speaker 2: three years because see Mama gone, Papa gotta do something now.
- 59:19Speaker 2: And then you didn't know none of this until your
- 59:21Speaker 2: daughter came in there and told you about this woman
- 59:23Speaker 2: named Suit. First time her and Sue met, it was
- 59:28Speaker 2: confusing to your daughter called Sue called my dad, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy,
- 59:35Speaker 2: yall through watching that movie, so I can give you
- 59:37Speaker 2: something else to watch, Daddy. Now the baby is confused.
- 59:42Speaker 2: She said that Sue smoked cigarettes and use a lot
- 59:45Speaker 2: of bad words, so obviously the adjectives was coming in before, Daddy,
- 59:55Speaker 2: you want to go up.
- 59:56Speaker 4: These blank blank, But she said it in that voice, Hey.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: Blankety blank, Hey, Daddy, I wish to blank they would Daddy,
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: is that blank movie over with, Daddy? I'm going to
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: go out here smoke this blankety blank cigarette, Daddy, because
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: this movie take it to the blow. And he told Sue.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: They tried to watch a movie with her and Papa Bag.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: He told Sue she had to leave because us smoking
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: clothes caused my child's asthma.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: In the flail.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: My daughter can be a bread at time. So I
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: waited to meet Sue myself before I said something to
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: him about it. Well, I met Sue last Sunday. My
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: daughter wasn't lying. Sue smelled like a casino. She was
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: cussing with every word she said. She helped my daddy
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: cook dinner and it was really good. So it seems
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: like the only thing about Sue is that she can cook.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: That's where you're wrong.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: Right, Oh, it ain't just a cookie in the kitchen.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Shoot in now doing several things. Gott it girl that
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: you need to hear about, And when we come back,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you what that is. Raise yourself and
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: put your baby in another room.
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: Well that part two.
- 1:01:18Speaker 8: Steve's response coming up to today's Strawberry letter, potty mouth
- 1:01:22Speaker 8: and Smoky Clothes at twenty three minutes after the hour.
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.

- 1:02:02Speaker 8: All right, come on, Steve. Let's recap today's strawberry letter.
- 1:02:06Speaker 8: The subject is potty mouth and smoky clothes.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Well, it's forty seven year old single mother lost her
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: mother and her father. She's a daddy's girl and they
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: lost her mother, which is his wife, three years ago. Well,
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: to make sure that they okay, her and her daughter
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: been going over that checking old Papa bear, make sure
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: everything's okay. So every other Friday, just to give you
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: a break, your daddy has you bring your daughter over
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: and they watch movies together.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: They have popcorn. All that's going good.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Now. You never thought that your daddy would start seeing somebody,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: even after three years. I don't know how much time
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: you think it take it over somebody that don't mean
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: you over them, But it's time to move on because
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: life does continue. You didn't know she was dating somebody,
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: he was gonna see somebody else until your daughter came
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: in and told you about Suit. Sue is this woman
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: that smokes a lott and cuss all the time, and
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: you know you don't think that's appropriate, but you think
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: your daughter's a brand. So you waited to meet him
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: for your first self, to meet him the first time
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: yourself where you finally met Sue, and guess what you
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: said about Sue. You said, Sue smelled just like a casino.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Dinny came back and said she was cussing every other word,
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: and then you said that seemed like the only good
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: thing about Sue is that she can cook. She helped
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: my dad cook dinner and it was really good. Now
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: I seem like all that Sue can do is cook.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: That's where you're wrong. That's all you seen what Sue do.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Sue did what she could do in front of you
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: and the baby, which would cook.
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: But what Sue really do.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: It ain't for you and the baby. Crazy Papa bear
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: in that laying it down. God, Papa being there, Papa
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: Bear in there putting it on goldielocks, Papa Bear, you
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: know win did the pool drop off? Honey? And he
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: the whole jaw, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then your daddy said,
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: you really ought to put all your judgment to the
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: side and get to know Sue because she is sweet
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: to him. Now listen to this sentence. He is sweet.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: She is sweet to him. That key word is sweet.
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: To him.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: What's the cigarette smoking, cussing woman doing that could be
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: sweet to your daddy? Now you being a daddy girl,
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: you ain't gonna want to hear this. But they in
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: that naked somewhere. Really your daddy nikked, Hey, daddy girl,
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: she in that doing things, and your daddy got your
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: dad addy jumping up on the ceiling like a cat
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: in a cartoon. All folk claws dug into the ceiling.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: They're they're doing things to fit it. She ain't fitted
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: no more on the bed and then come up on
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: all folk corners. That's how sweet she is to him.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: And then you setting have been here and Sue because
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: and I don't want Sue in my parents' house calling
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: my daddy daddy. Well, it ain't the same daddy. You
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: got them two different daddies. When you call him daddy
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: is parental. When she called him daddy is consentual. Yeah,
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: you call him daddy is parental. She called him daddy
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: is consentual as in consentual. Six. Right, you can beat
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: daddy when you bringing it. Spank me, okay, put some
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: punishment on me, make me do right, make me do
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: what you want me to do. I said, yes, you
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: say no, we still do it anyway. That's what a
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: daddy do. Daddy pick you up and speing you rhyme,
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: and what daddy do? Daddy fry bacon and what daddy do?
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Daddy put you on the marry go rhyme. Yeah, that
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: what daddy do? Yeah, daddy pick you up and throw
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: you up in the air and catch you. That's what daddy.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: That's why she called him daddy. Then she said, it's
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: way too soon, and it's appropriate in front of my daughter.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: It's been three years. Three years, that's over a thousand days.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: It's too soon for who and it's inappropriate in front
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: of your daughter. No, it's not. Your daughter needs to
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: know that life goes on. I hope daddy is going
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: through a phase and he moves on. Wells he oh,
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: what phase?
- 1:07:07Speaker 12: That is it?
- 1:07:08Speaker 11: You?
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: Forty seven? You forty seven? Ain't no phase?
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: He writing the last chapter. That's a good one. There
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: ain't nothing left next sept The n So leave daddy alone.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: They don't have anything in common.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: Oh yes they do.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: Do you think my dad will figure that out before
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: they get serious? Shirley said it best. They're already serious.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: They so seriously over there cooking and calling him daddy.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: How you think she got to calling him daddy because
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: some serious stuff didn't happening there. I've been called daddy before.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: It feels so good, Daddy and Poppy.
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: That does something to you, guys, doesn't it?

- 1:15:39Speaker 2: for anybody lose their job. But the people, okay that
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: not all the employees was not the only ones got
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: hurt by this. All the miles he had collected, Hall
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: and Sip, the flying miles, they ain't got no brother.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: He went, He went to continent American told him he
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: had some Spirit Airline miles. They laughed. So he was
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: trying to see if they had a party. Spirit is
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: the only airline I ain't have no partner, okay, changeroo
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: and they tied to somebody.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: Air hell yeah.

- 1:16:44Speaker 4: give us days off of stuff like this. You take
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: him a day off because of Spirit air Mark.
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: You ain't trying from Houston to l A.

- 1:16:59Speaker 8: Morning Show right after this.
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:17:08Speaker 8: Here's a nasty reminder that might make you think twice
- 1:17:11Speaker 8: before you have food delivered again. A door dash driver
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: is going viral after being caught on camera dropping a
- 1:17:17Speaker 8: smoothie on the ground, then scooping it back up with
- 1:17:21Speaker 8: his bare hands and putting it back into the cup,
- 1:17:25Speaker 8: and then delivering it to the customer. The viral video
- 1:17:31Speaker 8: has raised bigger concerns about food safety and trust when
- 1:17:34Speaker 8: it comes to delivery apps.
- 1:17:36Speaker 7: So do you guys order food to be delivered at
- 1:17:38Speaker 7: your home? Is the question one?
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: You've never ordered a smoothie? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, Well I
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: have a house.
- 1:17:54Speaker 7: You know, we got teenager and teenage come over, so
- 1:17:56Speaker 7: they ordering every.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: And stuff they won't Yeah, the kids they love it.
- 1:18:05Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:18:05Speaker 5: I thought the smooth it was a waste of money.
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: You better use your delivery app for more than a smoothie.
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: I get chicken every time you come here.
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:18:15Speaker 7: But he scooped it up with his hand and put
- 1:18:17Speaker 7: it back in the cup and delivered it. That's just nasty.
- 1:18:22Speaker 7: But how did he do that because it should have
- 1:18:24Speaker 7: been taped on the side the cup. They obviously didn't
- 1:18:28Speaker 7: tape it.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: Or you have a drop?
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: Yeah, hey you got a point there.
- 1:18:37Speaker 8: See yeah it stills out. Yeah, that's terrible. All right,
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: We'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up.
- 1:18:43Speaker 8: We'll play around it. Would you rather right after this?
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: You already know what it is, measure match, go bean,
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: and you are now listening to the Steve Horvey Morning Show.

- 1:20:27Speaker 2: give me that.
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I know what I'm kidding.
- 1:20:31Speaker 6: I don't trust How does a robot know about seasoning?
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: I can't trust that.
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: However, he's programms or she's programmed.
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: I'm gonna just get a white robot. At least they gonna.
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: At least.

- 1:20:56Speaker 2: Okay, moving on all right?
- 1:20:59Speaker 8: Would you rather meet out like a cat went aroused
- 1:21:02Speaker 8: or growl like a lion?
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I love animal sounds.
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: I don't care.

- 1:21:14Speaker 4: Done the cat give me out before.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: Steve, Oh, the little crazy chick I dated I was about.

- 1:23:53Speaker 4: Question you wanted to ask Steve before we get out
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: of here for closing.
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: Yeah, I just want to pick Uncle Steve's mind because
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: I'm curious. You know, it's a lot of us out here. Uh,
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: Like I asked you earlier this morning, how do you
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: know you chosen? And when you know you chosen, what
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: we do with it?
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: Well, Junior, the thing about it is God designs us
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: all a certain way, and all of us, everybody listening
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: to this radio show. Everybody at work at one at
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: a point in time in life, you were it that
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: point in time, may still be now. You're the one
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: everybody come to with their problems. You're the one everybody
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: come to for advice. Either everyone somebody needs something, they
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: come to you. Every time somebody needs some money, they
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: come to you. Now, people that decline the corporate letter
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: in their family. First one graduate from college, First one
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: become a supervisor, down on the job, first one to
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: get any type of position, first one to open up business.
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: All is.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: If you're that person, I have news for you. You
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: have been specifically chosen by God for that role. You
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: are the chosen one. Everybody chosen ain't rich, but everybody
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: chosen is doing better than the ones around them. See,
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: chosen is chosen. Chosen means you're the one who seemed
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: to be the cream of the crop, the pick of
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: the litter. That that that that that that that that
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: special sheep in the family. You it you the one.
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: You the crab that got out the barrel.
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: You the one. Well, you got out the barrel for yourself.
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: But what you didn't know was you now have gotten
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: out the bar for everybody that you left in the barrel,
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: You now have climbed the corporate letter. For everybody that
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: never put their foot on the wrong of a letter,
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: never made it, never tried to be nothing, You become it.
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: And they would use guilt sometimes to make you realize
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: you it. They will manipulate you in ways. But once
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: you know that you are it, you've been chosen. You
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: the one in the family they're coming to you might
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: as well buckle down because tag that's it. I heard
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: something on the internet that really affected me. This man said,
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: for a blessing, it is to be tired of the
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: things that you begged the universe for. Man, don't y'all
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: realize how big of a blessing it is to have
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: been the first one in your family to get out
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: of college, to be the first one to open a business,
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: the first one to become a supervisor, the first one
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: to climb the corporate letter, the first one to become successful.
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: You broke the curse in your family. All of that, well,
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: you it, and they know you it because they know
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: you the only one. But see you on a trip
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: About that, the Bible said to whom much is given,
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: much is required. Now one of them things. Is they
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: gonna put a lot of requirements on you that you
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: didn't ask to be put on you, or you didn't
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: know that it came with the crown. You just didn't know.
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: You didn't know that there was part of the duties
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: that was gonna be laid upon you because you have
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: been chosen, and it's all right. It's all right to
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: be the chosen. The Bible speaks about it is better
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: to be the lender than the borrower. I know you
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: tied to everybody calling you for money. I know you
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: the one in the family everybody need a loan and
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: all this here, But let me ask you a question.
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: Ain't it better to be that person than the person
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: that's always calling needing the money? Ain't it? Just think
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: about it for a minute. You know we're getting into
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: a small section of that to whom much is given,
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: much is required. I was complaining about it the other
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: day to somebody. I mean, man, it's just back to
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: back to back to back to back, every message, phone call.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: I can't tell you how many people want something. If
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: it ain't a favor, do this for me, make this
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: announcement for me. Can you post this? Can you write
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: a review for my product. Can you read my book
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: and then write the forward for it? Can I come
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: on your show and do this? Can I promote that?
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: Can you loan me some money? Where you look at
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: my nephew's idea and a plan? Will you hire somebody?
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: I need a job. I need some money. They trying
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: to take my house. I'm about to lose my car. Man,
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: I hear it. It's a constant barrage of that. I'm
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: gonna get paid on so and so. But the contract
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: came through, So can you give me this money? I
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: had a dude. This triped me out. Man, this is
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: really true. A guy called me and asked me for
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: seven thousand dollars for a medical thing he needed. And
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: I listened to him, and he said, hey, man, if
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: you give me the money, I'll be able to I'll
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: give it back to you tomorrow. Do you know how
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: that sounds?
- 1:29:14Speaker 9: Do you know?
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: I was sitting there with my head tilted. I'm trying
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: to process this. You need something that's medical, you need
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: seven thousand dollars and you can give it back to
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: me tomorrow. Well, hold up, dough, why don't you just
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: get it tomorrow?
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: He said?
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: But it's an emergency, Well guess what it'll be even
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: more of emergency.
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: Tomorrow and then you'll have it.
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: But you know what I've learned, I don't adjust for
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: everybody no more. I got that I'm the chosen one.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: But if you didn't have a chosen one number, what
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: would you do? Just think about it. But it's better
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: to be the lender than the bar Those are my
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: clothes room marks. To all of you that are chosen,
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: sleep well. It's better to be the chosen than the unchosen.
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: I know that y'all have a great day to day. Okay.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: Peace for all.
