- 0:00Hey everybody, welcome back to the Lila Roche Show.
- 0:02It is a new year and there is a lot of news to do.
- 0:06A roundup on here. You may have seen the headlines
- 0:09this morning. Just a few hours ago there was
- 0:11an immigration protest in Minneapolis and ICE shot a woman
- 0:15in her car. The ICE agent is claiming
- 0:18self-defense. The Internet is also buzzing
- 0:20about a dad whose post went viral recently on acts saying
- 0:23that as much as he loves his young children, he doesn't like
- 0:26spending any time with them. Of course the Internet reacted
- 0:29and my take is going to say be that the reactions of people say
- 0:33a lot more about us than it actually does about this dad.
- 0:37All that and more. Welcome back to the Lila Rose
- 0:39show. OK, so before we get into ICE,
- 0:47and as you know on the show, we've covered immigration and
- 0:50the deportation policy of the administration.
- 0:52Our take is not the typical take you're going to see on the in
- 0:55the headlines, either on the left or the right.
- 0:57But I think it's one that I found most people actually agree
- 1:00with. But maybe you're afraid to say
- 1:01the quiet part out loud. So we're going to talk about
- 1:04that. But before that, yesterday,
- 1:06there was a statement from the president, from President Trump
- 1:10about something called the Hyde Amendment.
- 1:12Let's take a listen. Let the money go in the
- 1:16healthcare account or however you do it.
- 1:19Let the money go directly to the people.
- 1:23Now you have to be a little flexible on hide.
- 1:26You know that? You got to be a little flexible.
- 1:28You got to work something. You got to use ingenuity.
- 1:32You got to work. We're all big fans of
- 1:36everything, but you got to be flexible.
- 1:38You have to have flexibility. OK, So what is he, what is he
- 1:42talking about? You have to have flexibility on
- 1:43Hyde. So they're talking about,
- 1:45they're beginning in Congress and the White House to talk
- 1:48about the budget process for 2026.
- 1:51They're talking about the spending, you know, the taxpayer
- 1:53spending, what we're going to be spending money on.
- 1:55There has been something since 1976, before I was born, called
- 2:00the Hyde Amendment. A big shout out to Congressman
- 2:03Henry Hyde, who is no longer with us.
- 2:04He's passed on. I believe he's in heaven.
- 2:06This guy. I believe he was pretty saintly
- 2:08as falls as far as politicians ago, but Congressman Henry Hyde
- 2:12instituted something called the Hyde Amendment at the federal
- 2:15level. It's been in place since 1976.
- 2:18What does the Hyde Amendment do? The Hyde Amendment prevents your
- 2:21taxpayer dollars, my taxpayer dollars, from going to directly
- 2:26fund for abortions. So when the government, the
- 2:29federal government takes your money and gives it to states for
- 2:32their Medicaid funds, as an example, to pay Medicaid, they
- 2:36are not allowed to use that federal money.
- 2:38They can use state money because if they want do their state
- 2:40prerogative, they can do their state prerogative, but they
- 2:43cannot take your federal taxpayer dollars and give it to
- 2:46abortionists. That's what it does ultimately.
- 2:48Now, the last year has been some big wins for the pro-life
- 2:52movement. We defunded Planned Parenthood.
- 2:54I credit President Trump for signing that into law.
- 2:57I think it was Speaker Mike Johnson of the House who really
- 3:00pushed for that. Hundreds of millions of dollars
- 3:03were taken away from Planned Parenthood, which is the biggest
- 3:05abortion chain. This is different though.
- 3:07This would mean that Planned Parenthood or really any other
- 3:10abortion provider could take federal tax dollars and have it
- 3:14be paid, their abortions be paid for and they get to charge you,
- 3:18the taxpayer 500, a $1000 or more for committing an abortion
- 3:24ending the life of an innocent child.
- 3:26So it is a no brainer that we should have a Hyde Amendment,
- 3:29that we should not be putting federal money, your dollars
- 3:31behind killing babies. Even people on the left and the
- 3:34right agree there is majority bipartisan support for the Hyde
- 3:37Amendment. But of course the extreme pro
- 3:39aborts on the Democrat side are going to fight this tooth and
- 3:42nail. This is not ground that the
- 3:44Republican Party should give up 1 inch, not one inch.
- 3:47And so I think it is important to make the message loud and
- 3:50clear to the Trump administration.
- 3:52Huge thumbs up on the defund of Planned Parenthood.
- 3:54Let's keep that going. But it completely erases any
- 3:57progress to strip away a law that's been in place now for
- 4:02going on 50 years, 50 years of Hyde that was protecting babies.
- 4:08One last thing that's really important to note here.
- 4:10This is, this is incredible, what I'm about to share because
- 4:13of the Hyde Amendment, because of this, this, this law that
- 4:16stops federal money from paying for abortions.
- 4:20There have been an estimated 2.6 million babies whose lives have
- 4:26been directly saved because of this law in the last 50 years.
- 4:29Can you believe that? 2.6 million babies.
- 4:32How do we know this? The methodology is that when you
- 4:35look at Medicaid, this is where lower socioeconomic classes are
- 4:39going to be using Medicaid money for health services.
- 4:43When Medicaid doesn't pay for abortions, doesn't pay for
- 4:47killing poor babies or killing babies, right, The abortion rate
- 4:51is lower in these states where Medicaid does not fund abortion.
- 4:55That's just a fact. If it's not an option that your
- 4:57doctor's giving you, the Planned Parenthood says, oh, the state
- 5:00will pay for your abortion. The government, you know, Big
- 5:02Sam, will pay for you to kill your baby, so you should just do
- 5:05that. Yeah.
- 5:06Surprisingly, not surprisingly, women are less likely to kill
- 5:10their babies when they're being told, oh, yeah, just kill your
- 5:13baby and it's free. Instead, they're being told,
- 5:15actually don't kill your baby. Here are other resources that
- 5:19may also be tax subsidized to help you love your baby, take
- 5:22care of your baby instead of kill your baby.
- 5:24So it is a no brainer that we should keep hide.
- 5:27And I wanted to make sure you knew about this.
- 5:28I think it's. Important to raise our voices
- 5:30right now. And say this is not a not a
- 5:34matter that we should give a single inch on, do not give a
- 5:37single inch on Hyde. And there are a lot of good
- 5:39people in the Trump administration.
- 5:41There's a lot of good. People, there's Catholics,
- 5:43there's. Christians, there's people who
- 5:44are pro-life, this is their moment to shine, to say no, no,
- 5:47no, no, no. We cannot give an inch on Hyde,
- 5:50on the Hyde Amendment. All right, that being said, so
- 5:54if you're on X, if you're on social media, if you are
- 5:57connected in any way to politics right now, this is your chance
- 6:00to speak out about it, be speaking out about protecting
- 6:03the Hyde Amendment and saving lives.
- 6:06But the story breaking today on ice.
- 6:08I saw this footage. It's very disturbing footage.
- 6:12You don't see anything graphic in it, but you see ultimately
- 6:15the altercation that took a woman's life.
- 6:19We're going to watch that. I'm going to give you my take on
- 6:21that and look at the different politicization that's happening
- 6:25around this very tragic event. Before that though, I have to
- 6:29thank our sponsor, Brave Plus, which I'm very excited about.
- 6:33It's really hard to find good content to watch with my kids
- 6:36for when they are allowed to have screen time.
- 6:38I'm always on the lookout for low stimulating, story driven
- 6:41and values based kids content. That's why I'm very excited
- 6:45about Brave Plus. Brave Plus is a new streaming
- 6:48platform with content that reinforces our values instead of
- 6:52undermining them. Every show is vetted by real

- 7:27Trial. All right, so we've been
- 7:32following, we've begun to follow the deportation policy of the
- 7:36Trump administration. And I first want to state what I
- 7:39think most people I talked to agree with, which seems like
- 7:42common sense. Number one, we need a stronger
- 7:44border. I think a lot of people are
- 7:46concerned about the fact that millions of people have entered
- 7:48this country illegally and that this exploded under the Biden
- 7:52administration. Also, if there are violent
- 7:55criminals, criminal offenders who are also undocumented in
- 7:57this country, deportation makes sense.
- 7:59Again, most people, the majority of people agree with that.
- 8:02They agree that some deportation is important, especially in the
- 8:06wake of mass undocumented immigration into this country.
- 8:10The part where I also see most people agreeing, even if they're
- 8:13may be afraid to say it, they don't want to look like they are
- 8:15opposing the Trump administration.
- 8:17Is that the enforcement, how ICE enforces its immigration policy,
- 8:21our immigration policy, our deportation policy, it matters.
- 8:25It matters. And it matters because there is,
- 8:27of course, a social contract in place with people who live in
- 8:30this country and our government, that our government is going to
- 8:34be just, it's going to follow its own laws and policies.
- 8:38It's going to respect human dignity.
- 8:40And that if you live in this country, you're going to follow
- 8:41the law. You're going to do your best to
- 8:43respect human dignity. But that even if you're a
- 8:45criminal, even if you're someone who is here undocumented, the
- 8:48government doesn't have the right to just obviously gun you
- 8:51down, right? There has to be a level of due
- 8:54process and still consideration for human dignity.
- 8:57The government is held to a high standard.
- 8:59And that's because we let them be in charge.
- 9:01We give them, you know, what is it, half our paychecks, a third
- 9:04of our paychecks. And we let them have the guns,
- 9:06the jails, the, you know, military.
- 9:08They're the ones who are in charge.
- 9:09So there is this agreement in place between citizens, between
- 9:13us, between even people who are here, who are immigrants, of
- 9:16course, and the government. So what we're about to watch is
- 9:19an altercation, and that's using it lightly, a term using, I'm
- 9:23using lightly here. It's actually more of a violent
- 9:25encounter between a handful of ICE officers who ended up
- 9:28getting stuck in the snow this morning in Minneapolis.
- 9:31And as they were stuck in the snow, there's ICE alerts that
- 9:33often go out with protesters who are protesting deportation.
- 9:36And so they show up to try to make trouble basically for the
- 9:39ICE officers and to try to obstruct what they are
- 9:42attempting to do. Let's take a look at this video
- 9:45of what happened this morning. We're going to analyze it
- 9:49afterwards. Quick content warning, you're
- 9:52going to hear some bad language in this video.
- 9:53You're also going to see a very ultimately a violent
- 9:58altercation. There's no blood or gore or
- 9:59anything, but you'll see a car and you'll see a some ICE
- 10:04officers and you're going to hear gunshots.
- 10:06Let's take a look. What the?
- 10:26What the you just what the did? You do.
- 10:30All right, so the woman who was shot was a 37 year old woman, a
- 10:34mother I think of a 7 year old. She's dead, she's deceased.
- 10:37The ICE officers thankfully I think are unharmed after this
- 10:40altercation, this violent encounter, I should say.
- 10:43Let's take a look at what people are saying about what we just
- 10:45saw and then I'll give you my take.
- 10:47So Nick Sorter, who is a independent journalist, I
- 10:50actually love a lot of the stuff that he does and he's of often
- 10:53reporting online. He says breaking new angle from
- 10:56the ice involved shooting in Minneapolis shows the woman
- 10:59clearly hitting the agent with her car before he fires at her.
- 11:03A vehicle is a deadly weapon and she used that deadly weapon
- 11:06against the agent. self-defense is what Nick Sorter is saying
- 11:10here. Here is a different take.
- 11:12Don Winslow, who's I think a New York Times bestselling author,
- 11:16he's weighing in. He says the wheels are fully
- 11:19turned away from the officer. Watch in slow MO.
- 11:23No intention IMO, in my opinion, to hit anyone.
- 11:27Sole intention based on wheel steering to leave the scene to
- 11:30get out of there. Things were heating up.
- 11:31The ICE officers knocking on the door, right?
- 11:33Not a threat. Look at the wheel.
- 11:37Now, when I saw the footage, I immediately saw it more from Don
- 11:41Winslow's point of view, 'cause I think I'm looking from the
- 11:43back, like, you know, many people are who see this footage.
- 11:45There's other footage that we don't see it from the back like
- 11:47that. And you do see the wheels
- 11:48turning. There is a ICE officer who comes
- 11:50in front. The bottom line is if an ICE
- 11:54officer believes that there's an imminent threat against his life
- 11:57from somebody, he does have the right to try to stop that
- 12:01threat. He has the right to do that in
- 12:03self-defense, right? That is actually our current
- 12:06policy right now for law enforcement.
- 12:08They can't go and hunt people on the street.
- 12:11That would be completely unethical and illegal.
- 12:13But if they are being attacked, and in this case, if the ICE
- 12:16officer thought he was being attacked with this deadly weapon
- 12:19of a, you know, however, how heavy that car is this, this
- 12:23vehicle being used as a deadly weapon, then you can understand
- 12:26in his mindset why he would say, well, I'm doing this in
- 12:27self-defense. I need to immune, you know, stop
- 12:30this threat and I'm going to kill this person or at least
- 12:32shoot at this person to get them to stop.
- 12:35So I can understand that perspective.
- 12:36And I think, you know, if you're an ICE agent today, it is a
- 12:38tough job for a lot of ICE agents because they are doing
- 12:41something very unpopular in the communities that they're in now.
- 12:45Having a tough job doesn't give you permission to do a bad job
- 12:49or to, as we discussed in my last episode, to go after it,
- 12:53you know, put recently postpartum mothers or
- 12:55accidentally pick up American citizens or to show up at a high
- 12:58school graduation. And that's when you choose to
- 13:00deport the parents. I don't think any of that is
- 13:02acceptable. So there have to be boundaries
- 13:05here about how we go about enforcing our immigration law
- 13:07and doing doing it in a way that is just, but also respects the
- 13:11public peace and respects the communities so that there's not
- 13:15an act of a sense of terror that the communities are feeling.
- 13:18But that being said, when you look at this video, my immediate
- 13:23response was it looked like she was just trying to get the hell
- 13:26out of Dodge, as they say. She's just trying to get out of
- 13:28there because she was kind of causing trouble.
- 13:31It got it escalated. They're coming up to her car and
- 13:33banging in her car. She's like, shoot, I don't know
- 13:35what's going to happen. This is like a, you know, beyond
- 13:37my scope. Now.
- 13:38I'm just a lady who, you know, is fighting for whatever rights
- 13:41I believe I'm fighting for here in my car.
- 13:42And yeah, I'm saying maybe bad words earlier or, you know,
- 13:45trying to like meddle with ice operations, but I'm going to get
- 13:48out of here now because things have gotten too heat, have
- 13:50heated, have gotten too hot, have have heated up too much.
- 13:54And but again, I can see if you're that ice officer in front
- 13:56of the car, you don't see her wheels turning necessarily to
- 13:58get out of the way. You're more thinking, oh gosh,
- 14:01she's trying to kill me right now.
- 14:03So it's going to be, it's going to be interesting to see how
- 14:07this plays out. But I think the key here is that
- 14:10it plays out with a dupe with due process.
- 14:12It doesn't play out with Internet mobs or real life moms
- 14:17going after each other. And some of my biggest concern
- 14:20besides the loss of this woman's life is the fact that the
- 14:24response has really escalated. They're calling, both sides are
- 14:28calling each other terrorists. There's now riots happening in
- 14:31Minneapolis. Let's take a look at what that
- 14:34looks like. Here is let's start with this.
- 14:36Harris, if you can pull up the mayor of Minneapolis.
- 14:40Telling ICE get the F out of Minneapolis.
- 14:43Let's take a look. But I do have a message for our
- 14:46community, for our city, and I have a message for ice to ice.
- 14:54Get the fuck out of Minneapolis. This is a message from a lot of
- 14:57Democratic mayors who are just saying, ICE, you don't belong
- 15:00here. They're obstructing ICE
- 15:01operations. Again, ICE, the government
- 15:04should have the right to deport especially violent offenders.
- 15:07I think that that is something, again, most people agree on.
- 15:09But when it becomes this heavily partisan thing where the mayors
- 15:12are just saying we don't want you here at all and we're going
- 15:13to obstruct your operations, that's where you can understand
- 15:16a backlash from the federal government.
- 15:18The response from President Trump has been very strong, as
- 15:21you can imagine. This is kind of par for the
- 15:22course as President Trump. Let's pull up the response from
- 15:25President Trump here. This is what he tweeted shortly
- 15:28after the incident. All right, President Trump says
- 15:30I have viewed the clip of the event which took place in
- 15:32Minneapolis, MN. It is a horrible thing to watch.
- 15:35The woman was screaming, obviously a professional
- 15:37agitator. The woman driving the car was
- 15:39disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then willfully,
- 15:42violently, viciously ran over the ICE officer.
- 15:44That didn't happen, by the way, but he's saying maybe she
- 15:47attempted to do that. Who seems to have shot at her in
- 15:50self-defense? Who seems to have shot at her in
- 15:52self-defense. Based on the attached clip, it
- 15:54is hard to believe he is alive but is now recovering in the
- 15:57hospital. The situation is being studied.
- 15:59But the reason these incidents are happening is because of the
- 16:01radical left. They are just trying to do the
- 16:03job of making America safe. So he's standing by his people,
- 16:06his lies, his law enforcement. That's understandable to some
- 16:09degree. He's the president, he's the
- 16:10commander in chief. His job is to basically have
- 16:13their backs, right? That's part of his job.
- 16:15And it's, again, very difficult for many ICE agents.
- 16:18I think the part that's tricky here is what President Trump is
- 16:21doing, which he often do, is what he often does here is
- 16:24saying the radical left at large, basically his political
- 16:27enemies are threatening, assaulting, targeting a law
- 16:29enforcement officers and ICE on a daily basis.
- 16:31And this is where it gets a little tricky.
- 16:33Is everybody on the left doing this to ICE agents?
- 16:35Is everyone on the left disorderly?
- 16:37Are they all trying to kill ICE agents?
- 16:38Was this woman trying to kill an ICE agent?
- 16:41Again, it's it's it's presuming the worst of your political
- 16:43opponents, which is not just what Trump does.
- 16:45The left does that to the right constantly.
- 16:47But this is where things become even more on fire because
- 16:51everyone is saying you were doing this, it's your fault, you
- 16:53were doing this, it's your fault.
- 16:54You're just out to get me and destroy me.
- 16:55You're out to get me and destroy me.
- 16:57It's a basically a race to the bottom.
- 16:59I mean, how can you live in peace when this is how you see
- 17:01your political opponents and they see you that way?
- 17:03We're not going to be able to live in peace that way.
- 17:06So there have been also riots breaking out.
- 17:08We can pull up that clip, Harris.
- 17:10This was just I think in the last couple hours now in
- 17:14Minneapolis, Minneapolis residents in the streets
- 17:18attacking federal agents. You can play the sound here too
- 17:22if. You've got it.
- 17:34Get out of the way. Get out.
- 17:36Get out of the way. Get out the way.
- 17:41So this is federal agents, people again, protesters, it's
- 17:46escalating and I think the OK, what's the, what's the response
- 17:51here? Things are hot, things are still
- 17:53happening. It's unclear exactly what was
- 17:56going through the ICE agents mind.
- 17:57We know that the woman is dead. She was shot 3 times.
- 18:00We know that this is just creating more controversy.
- 18:04It's creating more anger and more divisiveness,
- 18:08understandably so. Someone was just shot and
- 18:10killed. What is the response?
- 18:13What should be the response from our federal government?
- 18:16And how do we look at this, especially for people who are
- 18:18Christians who want to have the Christian posture, both in
- 18:22supporting our government are ensuring that we respect rule of
- 18:25law while at the same time having a posture of justice and
- 18:29welcoming the stranger. And I think in this case, my
- 18:33one, the one word I think of is de escalation, which I think can
- 18:37sometimes be hard in politics, left versus right, but de
- 18:39escalation, because the more that we paint the other as the
- 18:43enemy who just wants to destroy us, the more we're going to just
- 18:47constantly be at war with each other.
- 18:49That can be really hard to do too, when you're trying to stand
- 18:51by a political point and and make a strong one to be de
- 18:54escalating. But I think it is the job of law
- 18:56enforcement to de escalate as best they can.
- 18:58That is part of their mandate. And I think it should be part of
- 19:01Ice's mandate too. I also think that as Christians,
- 19:04we need to be praying for our law enforcement.
- 19:08We need to be praying for immigrants, including those that
- 19:10are undocumented. We need to be praying for just
- 19:13and wise solutions to the problem in our of, of
- 19:17immigration and how our immigration system has been
- 19:20broken in America. And I think be willing to look
- 19:24at things maybe not through the headline of left versus right,
- 19:28but be willing to look at things in a more nuanced way with the
- 19:32end goal being human dignity and its protection as well as
- 19:36justice. So let's just say a prayer right
- 19:39now, if you will, with me for what's happening in Minneapolis
- 19:43and also for all of the people who are serving in law
- 19:45enforcement and, and those that are also feeling very insecure
- 19:50or uncertain because of either their immigration status or
- 19:55because of just friends and loved ones that they have and
- 19:58they're not sure what's going to happen.
- 19:59So I'm going to say I pray her before we go to our next topic.
- 20:02In the name of the Father, the Son of the Holy Spirit, Heavenly
- 20:05Father, I just ask that you protect everyone here and that
- 20:10you help us live together in peace.
- 20:12I ask that we can find just ways to enforce our immigration
- 20:16policy and to make our immigration policy as just as
- 20:19possible while also respecting human dignity and being as
- 20:23merciful as we can possibly be. I pray for the repose of the
- 20:26soul of this woman who who just passed this 37 year old woman.
- 20:30I pray for her child. I pray for the ICE agents, for
- 20:33them to be full of justice and be full of also mercy and how
- 20:39they operate moving forward. And we just pray for the
- 20:43political system and for everybody who is involved here,
- 20:47the elected leaders, the people in law enforcement, the
- 20:49communities, that your spirit of peace and justice can reign in
- 20:54people's hearts and that we can seek to collaborate with one
- 20:57each other, with one another, instead of to oppose one
- 21:01another. And I entrust all of this and
- 21:03the future of our country entirely into your hands in the
- 21:06name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- 21:07Amen. Okay, you guess.
- 21:10We don't usually do that prayer in the middle of political
- 21:12commentary, but what good is going to be our politics if we
- 21:16don't pray? We're going to have a disaster,
- 21:17guys. So we're going to do more of the
- 21:19praying around here. It's a new year, our new year,
- 21:21new prayer. Lots of prayers needed in 2026.
- 21:24All right, before we go to this next topic, which is something
- 21:28that I've seen in the last few days, which I think is actually
- 21:31very insightful about this cultural moment that we are in
- 21:34when it comes to motherhood and fatherhood, I have to do a huge

- 23:07So before we get into the Spiral X post that I want to read to
- 23:11you all, I want to take a look at the comments.
- 23:13The chat is buzzing here. Thank you everybody for weighing
- 23:16in a few comments that I wanted to read.
- 23:19So first of all, there's one here that comes from Rambo mom
- 23:25saying, Lila, you seem to have no threat, no clue about the
- 23:28constant threats of death daily. You need to go on a ride along
- 23:32sometime, meaning right along with law enforcement with ICE,
- 23:34to know what they go through. First of all, you're right.
- 23:37I don't experience what law enforcement experiences on a
- 23:40daily basis. That is absolutely, absolutely
- 23:42true. And they do experience a lot of
- 23:44risk and threats to their life. That is also true.
- 23:47And I think we can appreciate law enforcement and respect law
- 23:51enforcement and what they risk and even sacrifice, while at the
- 23:55same time saying they have this very high and really sacred
- 23:59responsibility to use force, the powerful force that they've been
- 24:03entrusted with and that they're literally paid to, to use right,
- 24:06in a way that is above reproach, really.
- 24:10So again, I'm not casting this big judgment on this ICE officer
- 24:14to say he 100% did the wrong thing.
- 24:16I think they need to do a very careful review of the process,
- 24:18what he was thinking, what his intention was.
- 24:21But I think it's an objective tragedy that this woman is dead.
- 24:24And I do think based on the footage that I saw where you got
- 24:26to see the back of the car, it appeared she was trying to get
- 24:29out of there. She had escalated.
- 24:30She had helped escalate the situation.
- 24:32That is true. She was part of a protest.
- 24:35That is true. And she was not responding to
- 24:38the ICE officer. He's banging on her door.
- 24:39She's just trying to get out of there.
- 24:41And another ICE officer walks in front of her car.
- 24:43And she was, I think, looking at the other guy, and she just puts
- 24:47her pedal to the metal and, you know, is going to keep going.
- 24:50And that's when she gets shot. So I totally hear what you're
- 24:52saying, but I also think there is a responsibility that our
- 24:57wonderful law enforcement that we need to respect and support
- 24:59as best we can has. And that's, you know, both
- 25:03things can be true at the same time.
- 25:05Another person here says that I just I just lost the chat here
- 25:10saying it looks like ultimately a saying it looks like liberal
- 25:16women will learn from this woman as an example.
- 25:20That's a pretty harsh take. I mean, I hear.
- 25:23The the thought. Behind that, you know, don't
- 25:25mess with ice. They're going to kill you.
- 25:28I just don't think that's the way we should all like, oh,
- 25:30don't ever cross a police officer.
- 25:31Look them in the wrong, you know, in the wrong way.
- 25:33That's going to get you. I mean, yes, I don't think you
- 25:36should be in any way doing violent protesting.
- 25:41That is not good. If you're going to do it violent
- 25:43protesting, you may be putting your life in danger.
- 25:45That is just a fact. But I do think it's up for
- 25:47debate still. Was this woman a violent
- 25:49protester or was she just trying to get out of there in her car?
- 25:51I think that's still the question that's at hand.
- 25:53That needs to be a debate. Always forever says The thing is
- 25:56they could have shot at the tires.
- 25:59They are trained to avoid killing citizens.
- 26:02She was trying to get away and I think there's a lot of truth to
- 26:05that. And the law enforcement ICE
- 26:08should be trained to avoid killing people.
- 26:11That is not their job to kill people.
- 26:13Their job is to protect the peace, enforce the law,
- 26:15obviously practice self-defense when needed, but it's not to
- 26:18just go out and kill people. So I, I think, you know, the
- 26:22jury's still out on this one. There's going to be more
- 26:24analysis, forensic analysis that's going to be done of this
- 26:26case. But I think it's a tragedy All
- 26:29in all, and a call for prayer as well as what we, you know,
- 26:33everything we were talking about earlier.
- 26:35OK, let's go to this next topic, which I'm excited about.
- 26:39This post on X, it was a doozy. His post on X got 20, nearly 20
- 26:47million views just on X. And then it was populated other
- 26:50platforms too. So 20 million people were
- 26:52looking at what this guy said. And this guy's like a small
- 26:55account. He's not like he's some big
- 26:56personality, you know, creating all this content that's always
- 26:59stirring up controversy. He just happened to, like, write
- 27:01out this little mini essay about what his experience was.
- 27:04And then the whole world saw it. Not the whole world, but a lot
- 27:07of X saw it. And then a ton of people weighed
- 27:09in. Let's take a look at what he
- 27:10said. So he says, am I just a monster?
- 27:14This is a guy on X named Justin Murphy.
- 27:17He says it's been 4 years since I became a father and I am just
- 27:22beginning to fear for my. Soul.
- 27:25It sounds like a humble beginning to the self
- 27:27reflection. The truth is, I just don't like
- 27:30being around kids for very long. Historically this is not
- 27:33uncommon among fathers, but today it feels almost illegal.
- 27:36It's causing me a lot of confusion and anguish.
- 27:38The ideal moment of time I'd like to spend playing with my
- 27:41kids is probably around 70 to 140 minutes a week.
- 27:45Very precise, roughly 10 minutes each day, maybe 2 times a day.
- 27:49Taking breaks for my work. My feelings of love towards them
- 27:52are perfectly strong, but if they have to watch them or
- 27:54entertain them for more than 10 minutes, my blood starts to
- 27:57boil. I just want to be working or
- 27:59accomplishing something. I try to be grateful, but it
- 28:00doesn't work. At 9:00 AM this morning, it's a
- 28:03sunny. Warm day here in Austin and my 4
- 28:05year old son is begging me to play catch.
- 28:07I was drinking coffee, still waking up.
- 28:09I didn't feel like it, but his desire to play is insatiable.
- 28:12He begged and he begged. I have no problem being a kind
- 28:15and loving father. The problem is that I do not
- 28:18enjoy it. It's not that I'm trying to
- 28:20maximize my personal pleasure, it just seems that it's wrong
- 28:23that I experienced so little delight when my dad friends all
- 28:27claim to love the experience the to experience so much.
- 28:30It was beautiful. We live in a picturesque tree
- 28:32lined block. I am even relatively relaxed
- 28:34from holiday rest. Playing catch with your son is
- 28:37supposed to be an iconic peak experience.
- 28:39Yet for every single minute on the inside, I just don't want to
- 28:42be there. I want to be drinking my coffee
- 28:45in peace. Then I feel guilty and absurdly
- 28:47ungrateful and ashamed when we're done.
- 28:49I know that he if he was a teenager teenager I'd long to
- 28:51have these days back. I have all of this perspective
- 28:55rationally and I've been very patient and steadfast trying to
- 28:58digest it but nothing fixes me emotionally.
- 29:00Am IA terrible person or is my feeling within a certain range
- 29:03of historically normal and and it's modern parenting torrent
- 29:06norms that are off? Whether it's my fault or not I
- 29:08don't even care. I just want to figure this out
- 29:10sometime. Something is wrong and I no
- 29:12longer have the excuse of being new to this.
- 29:15All right, so you know, those like anonymous confessions, like
- 29:20on Reddit, there's sometimes these like Anon accounts that
- 29:23pour out their soul and their deepest darkest secrets and then
- 29:25people weigh in and try to advise them and everything else.
- 29:28This guy is definitely not anonymous.
- 29:29He is going out. He's just going for it.
- 29:32And I know there's a mixed reaction just on that alone that
- 29:36he's sharing something so personal and potentially so
- 29:38shameful for the whole world to see.
- 29:41I do think there's something almost brave that he's willing
- 29:44to do that. But I also think, well, I'm not
- 29:47going to tell you exactly what I think until I look at a couple
- 29:50other of the top comments to this guys ex post.
- 29:53And then I'm going to give you guys my take because it's it it
- 29:57has to in part to do with the way that people are responding
- 29:59to. So I digress.
- 30:01Let's look at what the brilliant philosopher.
- 30:04Oh, wait, that's not this guy. Let's look at what Andrew Tate
- 30:07has to say. All right, you guys have
- 30:09probably heard of Andrew Tate. We've talked about him on the
- 30:11show in terms of the sex trafficking allegations against
- 30:15this man. He is a social media influencer
- 30:18and he has really just raunchy, you know, anti human takes a lot
- 30:25of the time. Unfortunately.
- 30:27I think some men think he's great because he tells men to
- 30:29pick them up themselves up by their bootstraps and work out
- 30:32and get rich. But you can get that message
- 30:34from other people that I think are more respectful of other
- 30:36human beings. Anyways that being said what he
- 30:39weighed in and said, this is kind of 1 extreme.
- 30:42Totally normal. You're just CUCKED by the modern
- 30:46woman who convinces you to be a second mother.
- 30:50You should be at war or impregnate impregnating more
- 30:53women. 2/3 of 2/3 hours a week is perfect with amount with a
- 30:58kid. That's why I have double digit
- 31:00kids with eight women. White people have been CUCKED by
- 31:06females and don't even reproduce enough because they're forced to
- 31:09play patter cake. Men make for, make pay for and
- 31:14discipline children. The rest is for women.
- 31:16OK, this doesn't even make sense what he's saying, which is not
- 31:18unusual for this gentleman or this person.
- 31:20I should say. I pray that one day he he does
- 31:23become a gentleman. But it you know, he's saying
- 31:25like you shouldn't be spending any time with him, but then you
- 31:27should discipline them. You can't successfully
- 31:29discipline a child if you'd ever spend time with them.
- 31:31So that doesn't even make sense. He's clearly a polygamist here.
- 31:34He has all these, like, sugar Mamas or Mama ladies that he,
- 31:40you know, it doesn't consider them wives.
- 31:42They're basically just his harem, effectively just women
- 31:44that will sleep with him that he just has children with that are
- 31:48kind of like single mothers. But he's, you know, helping to
- 31:50pay the bills. Get, I don't know all the
- 31:52arrangements and the details, but I think this is objectively
- 31:55not a good advice for this gentleman.
- 31:57This gentleman is saying, like, I'm a father.
- 31:59I know I should be grateful for being a father, but I'm really
- 32:01not enjoying time with my kids. And I just want to go work or
- 32:03drink my coffee. And Andrew Tate's like, yeah,
- 32:05dude. So, yeah, I don't think that
- 32:08that makes a lot of sense. And this is not helping this man
- 32:13have more self-awareness or have a path for how to be a better
- 32:16father. This is actually just saying,
- 32:18oh, you're struggling to be a good father.
- 32:21OK, here's how to be even worse of a father.
- 32:23Let me tell you how to like, like make your game even worse.
- 32:26Go, you know, impregnate a bunch more women, spend even less time
- 32:30with your kids and go to war. And I don't know, it's it's
- 32:35silly. It's silly in a way.
- 32:37I'm, I feel weird that I even read this on my show because
- 32:39it's so silly. But this shows you an example of
- 32:42the the responses that this tweet got.
- 32:47And there was kind of the red pill world with their opinion
- 32:50saying, oh, this is totally normal.
- 32:52You shouldn't want to spend time with your kids.
- 32:53OK, let's move on. Well, before we move on one
- 32:57other point here, this gets into gender roles already.
- 33:01Oh, the woman's job is to just play with the kids and be
- 33:04nurturing and care for the kids. The man's job is to like go out
- 33:07there and just make money. And well, there's some truth to
- 33:10that in that women are more naturally designed to do that,
- 33:14especially early childhood nurturer.
- 33:16The mother's role is irreplaceable.
- 33:18The father is designed naturally to be the provider protector,
- 33:22especially so the woman can be that nurturer and bring those
- 33:25children into the world. All that is true and really
- 33:27beautiful. It's part of God's design.
- 33:29I love it. That being said, it doesn't mean
- 33:32that dads don't nurture and play with their kids.
- 33:34It doesn't mean that moms aren't helping provide to and being
- 33:37part of building that household. So there's a lot more overlap
- 33:41than I think sometimes we reduce gender roles to and the harm of
- 33:47creating these caricatures of what it means to be a mother or
- 33:51a father, or these caricatures of what it means to be a wife or
- 33:55a husband is that it doesn't benefit those people who are now
- 33:59caricatured and doesn't benefit the kids.
- 34:01Because if you're a kid and you grew up thinking, well, only mom
- 34:03is nurturing me and dad's job is just to like.
- 34:05Go out and fight. Then your view of masculinity
- 34:08and femininity is going to be skewed just by nature of that,
- 34:11that that that misrepresentation of the feminine and the
- 34:14masculine. The most masculine man in my
- 34:18view is Jesus Christ. Second to him, I would say is
- 34:21Saint Joseph. You know, the Saints give us a
- 34:23really good idea of masculinity, the male Saints and God himself
- 34:27in the person of Jesus Christ. And what you see is incredible
- 34:31strength, self-control, immense virtue, wisdom, guidance,
- 34:36leadership. You see all of that, but you
- 34:38also see incredible gentleness. You see incredible patience.
- 34:42You see, I'm going to be the servant of all.
- 34:45You see a tenderness and a kindness.
- 34:48You see all of that, and it's packaged up in this beautiful,
- 34:51the person of Christ, this perfect man and God.
- 34:54And you see a lot of that in Saint Joseph, so that that is
- 34:57real. And then in women, you see the
- 34:59archetype of Mother Mary. Mother Mary who is so tender and
- 35:03meek and nurturing, so submissive and humble, all of
- 35:07these beautiful qualities. But then she's also strong.
- 35:11And bold she goes to Elizabeth. You know, she's pregnant, she
- 35:15takes this dangerous journey, she goes to Elizabeth, and then
- 35:18she's singing the Magnificat. All generations will call me
- 35:20blessed. The Lord has done great things
- 35:22for me. You know, ultimately I've been
- 35:24elevated and I praise God for that.
- 35:26How wonderful that this is my blessing to bring obviously
- 35:29Jesus into the world. And here she is, you know,
- 35:32saying yes despite all of the threats that she would
- 35:35experience and boldly saying yes, bravely saying yes.
- 35:39She's a warrior. She's a warrior for God, Mother
- 35:41Mary. So anyways, both is true.
- 35:44Both is true, and I think you it to have again, too much of a
- 35:47caricature of the sexes is going to only harm the development of
- 35:52children if that's what you're trying to impress upon them.
- 35:56But let's look at another response here.
- 35:59This is another X account. You view your children.
- 36:04Let's pull this up from somebody named Rena.
- 36:06So there were a lot of responses like this one.
- 36:08Guys, I'm not just picking this one randomly.
- 36:10This is representative of probably hundreds, maybe
- 36:13thousands of other responses. That's kind of how I'm I'm doing
- 36:16this sample. You view your children as a.
- 36:18Burden Instead of accomplishing something by raising them right,
- 36:22you have failed. You are addicted to a workaholic
- 36:25bachelor lifestyle. You should never have had kids.
- 36:28How dare you. And there are a lot of women
- 36:30piling on here saying like, well, women aren't allowed to
- 36:33complain about kids, but now you get to, you know, shut up,
- 36:36basically. I don't think that's helpful
- 36:40either because I think the underlying message of those
- 36:43people is that parenting, it's not about caricaturing the sexes
- 36:47or like, you know, masculinity and feminity is this thing and
- 36:49parents and moms and dads do this thing like, you know, Tate
- 36:51and those red pill guys were doing.
- 36:53It's more saying, well, parenting is all sunshine and
- 36:55roses basically. And if you feel discomfort or
- 37:00sadness about. Your parenting or having to
- 37:03parent, then you're have a moral failure.
- 37:05Like you've literally have a bad character and that you're
- 37:08irredeemable. Like the fact that you feel this
- 37:10way as this guy, you are irredeemable.
- 37:12You shouldn't have even had kids.
- 37:13That kid shouldn't even exist, basically.
- 37:16And that logic is also completely wrong in my view,
- 37:18because the reality is parenting, both fatherhood and
- 37:22motherhood, does require sacrifice.
- 37:24It requires dying to ourself. It requires giving up some of
- 37:29our selfishness. Our selfishness is tested in the
- 37:32fire of parenthood. That's a good thing, by the way.
- 37:35I'm so grateful for that as a mother.
- 37:37I'm so grateful that my kids teach me patience and that I
- 37:41have learned how impatient I really can be and how selfish I
- 37:44actually can because I'm more worried about my own stuff in my
- 37:47own world when I should be focused first on them.
- 37:50And it's taught me. It's been a lesson of love and
- 37:53I'm still learning it. But I'm so grateful for my kids.
- 37:56And I try every day, my husband and I, to be a better parent for
- 37:58them because that's what they deserve.
- 38:00But the reality is, it's not all sunshine and puppies every
- 38:03single day. There are difficult moments.
- 38:06And that is part of the beautiful process of becoming
- 38:09more loving as a parent. That's good.
- 38:12It's good that parenthood teaches us that If we refuse to
- 38:15learn that lesson, the lesson of dying to self, the lesson of
- 38:19giving up our selfishness as parents, we refuse to mature.
- 38:23It's like the butterfly never leaving its cocoon.
- 38:26We were, we were. We're stunting ourselves as well
- 38:28as our kids development by the way, because if you don't allow
- 38:31yourself to mature as a parent, you're going to hurt your
- 38:35child's ability to mature. So it's bull fanned, which is
- 38:38also a beautiful thing that as you mature, you get to help your
- 38:41kid mature. As you become less selfish, you
- 38:43get to help your child feel more loved and be more nurtured and
- 38:48be more formed and be more intentional about their
- 38:50development. That's a great thing.
- 38:53So I think that it is wrong to have a contemptuous attitude
- 38:58towards our struggles as parents to say you shouldn't struggle if
- 39:02you're a parent. But I think we also only
- 39:05normalize. Yes, there can be struggle.
- 39:07There's also the third way. And I'm going to read another
- 39:10response here. This is from a girl, a lady
- 39:14named Auden Christian I. Got my Truthly water jug here.
- 39:19Big shout out to truthly. I did not plan that.
- 39:21Guys I just need to drink some water before I read this ex post
- 39:24OK? So this is from Autumn
- 39:28Christian, and this was a good take.
- 39:30She says no, you're not a monster.
- 39:33These feelings are within your power to change.
- 39:35You can change your feelings, she's saying.
- 39:37They aren't bedrock personality traits.
- 39:39You can't fix the results of attitude adjustments and
- 39:42perceptions that you have about yourself and the world.
- 39:45Somewhat paradoxically, the guilt and shame is preventing
- 39:48you from changing these things. Those negative feelings act as a
- 39:51sort of ego protection that prevents real introspection.
- 39:54And part of you doesn't want to change, so you're not committing
- 39:57fully to the task. And that's where you're getting
- 39:59stuck in a shame cycle about it. Are these feelings common among
- 40:02fathers? Sure.
- 40:04It's normal to be a bad at things.
- 40:06It's difficult to being involved and present father.
- 40:08Yet study after study shows it's one of the most important things
- 40:11you can do for your kids. And your kids are your future.
- 40:14Whatever you do for them, you do it for yourself inside of them,
- 40:17moving forward through your time.
- 40:19And this view got, I think a ton of likes that had almost a half
- 40:22a million or over 400,000 views. I think there's a lot of beauty
- 40:25to what this lady said. And I think between our last two
- 40:27commenters, this lady is more on to the truth of the matter here.
- 40:31Here is the reality. Your feelings, your negative
- 40:35feelings about a situation, about a relationship, in this
- 40:40case about fatherhood, do not define reality.
- 40:43The feelings are real, but your feelings can mislead you.
- 40:48They can say, oh, this is hard and so you think I don't want to
- 40:50do this thing anymore when that hard thing is exactly what you
- 40:53should do. And then when you should ask the
- 40:55question, why does it feel this way?
- 40:58Well, maybe it's because you have formed a habit.
- 41:02You have this emotional appetite.
- 41:05For the wrong things, you enjoy your I don't know what this guy
- 41:10enjoys video games more than you enjoy human interaction and it's
- 41:14because. You have not developed the
- 41:16muscle of enjoying human interaction and receiving
- 41:20consolation from it. Maybe because of childhood
- 41:22trauma, I don't know. That was just like a.
- 41:25You know, example of the psychological analysis this guy
- 41:29could do if he went back in time and tried to understand why he
- 41:32might be this way. Regardless of why you're this
- 41:34way, you can change and then. Part of changing is exploring
- 41:38maybe why I feel this way sometimes.
- 41:40It just chalks up to we all don't want to do the do the hard
- 41:43thing some days. Some days we don't want to get
- 41:45out of bed and we have to. We have a job, we have kids, we
- 41:48have responsibilities. But you still get out of bed.
- 41:51And actually you're happier in the end when you get out of bed
- 41:53and do the right thing instead of languishing in bed and then
- 41:55feeling horrible because you blew off your responsibilities
- 41:58and now your life is a mess, right?
- 42:00Difficulty does not equal failure.
- 42:03Difficulty does not equal failure.
- 42:05And your feelings are not facts. Your feelings show you where
- 42:09you're at, but they don't show you what you should do.
- 42:11And so that's why understanding what is my purpose here?
- 42:14If you're a father, your purpose is to father your kids.
- 42:16If you're a mother, purpose is to mother your kids.
- 42:18Your purpose is clear. The question now is how do I
- 42:22overcome my own maybe negative emotions to do the right thing?
- 42:27And then how do I better have self knowledge to understand?
- 42:29OK, what is it that I like to do with my kids?
- 42:32This, I think this is a real thing.
- 42:33There's a a woman I love named Jen Fulweiler.
- 42:36She's a author. She's written some amazing
- 42:40books. She's also a stand up comedian.
- 42:43And her daughter, by the way, Lane Fulweiler is struggling
- 42:47with cancer. So we need to pray for the
- 42:49Fulweiler family. They're from Texas, but Jennifer
- 42:52wrote this book called I think My Blue Flame was the name.
- 42:56She has another book too that was fantastic.
- 42:58But she has this whole shtick where she says if you don't like
- 43:01playing Pat a cake with your kids as a mother, you don't like
- 43:04playing play DoH, you don't like doing like whatever little doll
- 43:07game your kids like, that's OK. You don't have to enjoy playing
- 43:11Pat a cake. That doesn't mean something's
- 43:12wrong with you. But what you should do is
- 43:14identify what is something fun that maybe we can do together.
- 43:18Her point is you should want to enjoy time with your kids, not
- 43:21just the responsibilities of taking care of your kids, but
- 43:24actually enjoy and delight in their existence.
- 43:27Kids are magical. Kids are amazing.
- 43:29And so it's finding out with your unique personality may be
- 43:34an interest. What are some fun things we can
- 43:36do together like that little 4 year old boy with that dad.
- 43:39Does the dad like to go bike riding?
- 43:41Does the dad like to, I don't know, go hiking?
- 43:45Does the dad like to go to Home Depot and walk through the
- 43:48aisles? My husband loves to go to Home
- 43:51Depot. That is his Target or his
- 43:54Nordstrom or his whatever it is for a woman.
- 43:57By the way, I, I, I did not do Target for two full years
- 44:00because of their agendas, but they've, they've pulled back on
- 44:04them. So I went to Target for the
- 44:05first time a few months ago, but back in the day, I would just
- 44:08walk through Target for fun. It was just fun.
- 44:10My husband be like, OK, we came here for two things.
- 44:12Let's get out of here. Home Depot.
- 44:14We came there for one thing and it's like we got to go through
- 44:17every aisle. So no shade on on Home Depot.
- 44:20I actually really respect and love that.
- 44:23My husband loves Home Depot, but my boys love Home Depot.
- 44:26Our little boys love Home Depot. So they go in the in the like
- 44:29card and they all together and it's actually really fun and
- 44:31adorable family outing. Anyways, they love to do that
- 44:33together. So that could be something.
- 44:35Find things that you do enjoy doing together and make memories
- 44:38that way. And I think the final point here
- 44:41is approaching time with our children.
- 44:44Not as, oh, I need to check a box.
- 44:48That's not how we should parent, father or mother, certainly not
- 44:53mother because I mean, especially when they're very
- 44:55young, your whole world is creating security for that child
- 44:59and showing that child love, right?
- 45:01But it shouldn't be about, oh, I need to check the box of
- 45:03spending 10 minutes with my kid. What instead it should be, I
- 45:07have the opportunity. It has to, you have to reframe.
- 45:09That is what I'm saying here. Got to reframe it because you
- 45:13can go into the best opportunity of your life.
- 45:17You could be given, I don't know, a billion dollars, you
- 45:20know, reach the heights of whatever professional pursuit
- 45:23you were after, the best relationship you could imagine.
- 45:27But if you don't have the right mindset about that opportunity,
- 45:31about that gift, about that whatever success you're
- 45:35experiencing, you could not appreciate it.
- 45:38This happens all the time. This is, I'm sure, happening in
- 45:40your life, in my life as we speak.
- 45:42There's something in your life that you longed for in the past
- 45:46that you have and possessed today, or that you may have
- 45:49dreamed of and experienced a relationship, something and you
- 45:52have it today and you forgot to say thank you for it.
- 45:54Like you don't really. You're not.
- 45:55Really. Deeply appreciated on a daily
- 45:57basis. That's very normal human
- 45:59condition to forget to be grateful.
- 46:01And so how does this apply to being a parent, a father and a
- 46:03mother? Same thing.
- 46:05It's not about checking the box for your child.
- 46:06It's about truly being grateful for the gift of this child's
- 46:11life, for the opportunity to know this unique soul and
- 46:15practicing a habit of gratitude. It's a habit.
- 46:19It's like a muscle. You got to go to the gym and do
- 46:21the reps Gratitude is the same way.
- 46:24And for a human being, it's so important that your kids
- 46:27experience your pleasure. This is this is really
- 46:30important. The the root of love.
- 46:33Saint Thomas Aquinas says the root of love is to will the good
- 46:37for the other want the good for the other.
- 46:40And Joseph Peeper says, who is a German philosopher, that the
- 46:45exclamation of love is oh, it is good.
- 46:47That you exist, it's delighting in the existence of the other.
- 46:52That's what love is willing their good and delighting in
- 46:55their existence. If your child or friend for that
- 46:59matter, spouse, but in this case your child doesn't experience
- 47:02your delight, your pleasure, like it's so good that you
- 47:04exist. I love you so much.
- 47:06I just delight in your existence.
- 47:09That is harmful to the identity of your kid.
- 47:11They need to know that their parents are happy that they
- 47:14exist. They need to know that their
- 47:17parents delight in their existence.
- 47:19And they need to be shown that through actions of their
- 47:21parents, both to care for them and nurture them and also to
- 47:24spend time with them, to just do leisure activities with them,
- 47:27fun things with them. And so the gratitude thing is so
- 47:30important. Thank you God for my life.
- 47:32Thank you, God for giving me the opportunity in this guy's case
- 47:36to wake up on a Sunday morning in Austin and drink a cup of
- 47:39coffee in my case, to wake up this morning and get to do this
- 47:42podcast with you guys. Thank you, thank you for
- 47:45listening. Thank you for being here.
- 47:47And I get to go home to my babies and I like, I, I still
- 47:50can't believe that I get to be their mom and it, they're just
- 47:53these magical human beings made in God's image that call me
- 47:56mother and love me and I love them.
- 47:58Like thank you God for that. The more we can thank God for
- 48:01what we've been given, the more we can experience really God's
- 48:06pleasure in our existence. It's tapping into that
- 48:08ultimately. So that would be the, the, the
- 48:12message to this guy. I think if I was talking
- 48:14directly to this gentleman, I would say forget some of these
- 48:18other guys on the Internet, especially that first one that I
- 48:21read the tweet from. I'd say, listen, fatherhood can
- 48:26be hard. Motherhood can be hard, that's
- 48:28OK, it's OK to acknowledge that. Maybe don't put it on X for the
- 48:31whole world to see. Maybe this guy got desperate.
- 48:33I'd say find a group of guys to be good friends with.
- 48:36Ideally faith-based family men that are moral.
- 48:40You need those guys in your life to help you out.
- 48:42Sounds like you're a hard worker.
- 48:43Good job. Your kid loves you, you love
- 48:46them. Find things you can do with him
- 48:48that you really enjoy, you know, confess any feelings that you
- 48:52have. Ideally, find faith, find God
- 48:53and, and, and you can confess your negative feelings, your
- 48:56shame and continue to be grateful.
- 49:00Make that a practice on a daily basis.
- 49:03Well, acknowledging, Hey, I'm imperfect.
- 49:05I might always have good feelings.
- 49:07I might have my selfishness that I'm up against, but I'm going to
- 49:11overcome that by getting up and showing up and being grateful
- 49:15and knowing that at the end of the day, this is all a gift.
- 49:17My life, a child's life, everyone's life.
- 49:21That's my that's my thought for you, Sir.
- 49:23What's his name again? What's his name?
- 49:25Harris Not Sir. Justin no, Justin.
- 49:30That's my thought for Justin. Let's pray for Justin.
- 49:33Let's pray for each other that we can appreciate what we've
- 49:37been given. We've we have all been given so
- 49:39much more than we could even dream of is what we've been
- 49:42given. And it's a matter of really
- 49:44embracing it. And the last thing here is the
- 49:48last thing here is listen, when you've got a really tough
- 49:51situation you're dealing with, I would not go to the Internet
- 49:54first. That is like pressing the
- 49:56nuclear button. Only do that if you're like,
- 49:58held hostage and there's no one else to talk to.
- 50:00And that's the only way to get, I guess, feedback.
- 50:02That's not anyone's case. By the way, Get some good
- 50:05friends in your life. We need each other.
- 50:07We can't do this alone. The Internet can be a harsh,
- 50:09harsh place. I would not recommend it as the
- 50:11place to bear your entire soul unless you have a specific
- 50:15reason, like there's a strategy for why you're doing that.
- 50:18All right, let's finish up with a few of your comments here,
- 50:20guys. Gin Lee, as a says or Gin Lee
- 50:23says, oh, this is harsh. OK, I can understand.
- 50:27Tate is the epitome of a selfish human being, IMO, who has double
- 50:30digit kids with eight different women.
- 50:32No one should consider that stable or same.
- 50:35Yeah, I again, I don't know that person's heart, but I agree.
- 50:38It is wrong behavior and it's harmful.
- 50:40And they're very kind of boasting about it all the time.
- 50:43It's like part of the online brand.
- 50:44And I think it's very, it's very silly.
- 50:47OK, completely, Claire says. I don't, I think there's a
- 50:50deeper issue with this man, but it doesn't mean he's a horrible
- 50:54person. He just needs to learn how to
- 50:56love his kids more. I think that's lovely.
- 50:58And I agree, Claire. And that's where having good
- 51:00friends, like surrounding yourself with good people that
- 51:02are walking a good path is really key.
- 51:07I mean, it is true. You become like the people you
- 51:10spend time with, the people you listen to, the people you learn
- 51:14from and the people you spend time with.
- 51:15That's what you become like, so take time to become the best you
- 51:19can be by surrounding yourself with the best inputs.
- 51:23God is the ultimate input, of course, and finding those good
- 51:26friends. All right, you all.
- 51:27Let's close in prayer again. It's 2026, time to pray.
- 51:32And then we have the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- 51:34Heavenly Father, thank you so much for today and everybody
- 51:38listening to the show and for the opportunity to love.
- 51:42Thank you that we live in one of the most secure, free countries
- 51:46in the world with all of our issues in America.
- 51:48Thank you for the blessing of being American and the
- 51:51opportunity. And if you're in another country
- 51:53and you're praying, you can thank God for whatever elements
- 51:56of your country you're grateful for.
- 51:58And we thank you for the gift of the people in our lives, for
- 52:03those of us who are married, for our spouses, for those of us
- 52:05with kids, for our kids, for those of us with our families,
- 52:08for our families or the people that are chosen families.
- 52:11And we just entrust this year to you and all of our friends, to
- 52:14you, our families to you, our mission in life, our purpose in
- 52:18life, to you, to do good on your behalf, to serve you, and to
- 52:23become more like you. And we surrender everything to
- 52:26you and thank you for your love and your mercy and your and your
- 52:29grace. And we pray this in the name of
- 52:31the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- 52:33Amen. Thank you so much guys.
- 52:35We will see you all next time.
