- 0:00Today's tech news moves fast, but understanding
- 0:03it shouldn't be hard. That's why Snarfl Solutions
- 0:06Group brings you Connecting the Dots, where we
- 0:09break down what's happening in tech and why it
- 0:11matters to you. Now, let's dive in with your
- 0:14hosts. Good morning, everyone. I'm Alex. And
- 0:17I'm Morgan. And welcome back to Connecting the
- 0:20Dots. This is the show where we take that just
- 0:23absolute fire hose of information, hitting your
- 0:25screens, and we slow it down. We draw the lines
- 0:28between the big stories so you can actually see
- 0:29the picture. We are coming to you live from the
- 0:32SNARFL Solutions Group Studios right here in
- 0:35a very blustery Sacramento, California. Oh, man.
- 0:39It is Thursday, February 19th, 2026. And you
- 0:43are not kidding about the blustery part, right?
- 0:46I mean, I walked in from the parking lot and
- 0:47I'm pretty sure the tailwind got me here like.
- 0:50three minutes early. It's fierce out there. Yeah.
- 0:53If you are local, please take that wind advisory
- 0:55seriously. It's in effect until 10 p .m. tonight.
- 0:58We're seeing branches down debris. Yeah. Just
- 1:01hold on to your hats. Yeah. And it's not just
- 1:03us. I was looking at the out the window report
- 1:05and the whole map is pretty messy today. The
- 1:08southern plains that you're dealing with gusty
- 1:10winds and really low humidity. That's the classic
- 1:13recipe for fire weather. So please be careful.
- 1:16And out west, that Pacific storm is just dumping
- 1:19heavy snow and more wind on the mountains. And
- 1:21for anyone in the Mississippi or Ohio valleys,
- 1:24keep an eye on the sky this afternoon. Severe
- 1:26thunderstorms, right? Looks like it, yeah. Right
- 1:29around the evening commute. So just a heads up
- 1:31for everyone. OK, let's shift gears to the financial
- 1:33dashboard. Wall Street closed yesterday with
- 1:35a little bit of an uptick, a bit of a relief
- 1:37rally. The Dow was up about what point one eight
- 1:41percent. So it's sitting around forty nine thousand
- 1:43six hundred and sixty two. The S &P 500 added
- 1:46about point three eight percent, closing at six
- 1:48thousand eight hundred and eighty one. It kind
- 1:50of feels like a holding pattern, you know, just
- 1:52waiting. But the crypto markets. Yeah. They seem
- 1:54to be losing a little patience. It's been a tough
- 1:56week. It has. Bitcoin is trading somewhere in
- 1:59the $65 ,900 to $66 ,000 range this morning.
- 2:03Which is down a bit on the day, but if you zoom
- 2:05out to Monday... It's over a 4 % slide. Yeah,
- 2:07there's definitely some profit -taking happening.
- 2:09The volatility is kicking back in. And frankly,
- 2:11looking at those red charts and listening to
- 2:13the wind outside, I needed a serious pick -me
- 2:15-up. Which brings me to what is in my mug. I
- 2:19noticed you skipped the breakroom coffee today.
- 2:21I did. I am drinking strong coffee. You know,
- 2:24we talk about optimization on this show, tech,
- 2:27workflow, and this is basically optimized caffeine.
- 2:32It's premium instant coffee, which I know can
- 2:34sound like a compromise. Usually does. But this
- 2:36stuff genuinely tastes like a fresh pour -over.
- 2:39It's the functional ingredients, though. That's
- 2:41the key. Exactly. It's not just bean water. It's
- 2:44packed with 15 grams of protein, MCTs for your
- 2:47brain. But the real game changer for me, the
- 2:50adaptogens, it's got ashwagandha. Ah, ashwagandha.
- 2:54That's what stops the jitters. It kind of balances
- 2:56out that caffeine spike. You got it. You get
- 2:58all the focus, none of the anxieties, just clean,
- 3:00sustained energy. So if you want to optimize
- 3:02your morning, go to strongcoffeecompany .com
- 3:05and use our promo code SNARFUL. That's S -N -A
- 3:08-R -F -U -L for 20 % off your entire purchase.
- 3:11Fuel for the brain. Which we are going to need.
- 3:13Let's open up the SnarfleTech article, report
- 3:16our Morningstar, and connect some dots. We've
- 3:18got three stories today that sound totally different.
- 3:21We have Indian infrastructure, Wall Street bonds,
- 3:23and a mobile game. But they are all about one
- 3:26thing. Systems leveling up. Hardware, finance,
- 3:30and software. A great mix. Let's start with the
- 3:33hardware. We're heading to India, where OpenAI
- 3:35is making a move that I think totally redefines
- 3:37them. We think of them as the chat GPT people,
- 3:40you know. Software. Right, the app on your phone.
- 3:43But this deal, this shifts them into heavy industry.
- 3:47OpenAI has signed a massive infrastructure deal
- 3:49with the Tata Group. Specifically, OpenAI is
- 3:53the first customer for a new data center business
- 3:56from Tata Consultancy Services, or TCS, called
- 3:59Hypervolt. So we hear about new data centers
- 4:01all the time. Why is this one a big deal? What's
- 4:03flagging on our radar? Well, two reasons. Scale
- 4:06and sovereignty. Let's start with scale because
- 4:08the numbers are just boggling. They're starting
- 4:11with 100 megawatts of capacity. Which is already
- 4:13pretty big. It is. But the roadmap, the Stargate
- 4:16project, goes up to one gigawatt. OK, for anyone
- 4:19listening, let's put one gigawatt into perspective.
- 4:21That is not a normal server farm. No, it is not.
- 4:24A gigawatt is roughly the output of a nuclear
- 4:27reactor. Wow. or enough to power about 750 ,000
- 4:30homes. This is a city -sized commitment to computing
- 4:33power. So they're building a nuclear power plant's
- 4:35worth of demand just for AI compute in one place.
- 4:39That's a massive footprint. And that gets to
- 4:41the why. Why India? Sam Altman said that India
- 4:44has over 100 million weekly chat GPT users. 100
- 4:48million. That's a huge chunk of their traffic.
- 4:51It is. So part of it is just physics, right?
- 4:53Latency. If you're in Mumbai and your query has
- 4:56to ping a server in Virginia and come back, it
- 4:59feels slow. Those milliseconds add up. They do.
- 5:02By putting the compute in India, it becomes basically
- 5:04instant for all those users. But you also said
- 5:07sovereignty. That sounds less technical and more...
- 5:10Legal and this is the real business angle here.
- 5:13This isn't just about faster chatbots. It's about
- 5:15data residency Okay governments and regulated
- 5:18industries think banking healthcare. They have
- 5:20these incredibly strict laws that say sensitive
- 5:23data cannot cross national borders It's a non
- 5:25-starter. So before this a big Indian bank probably
- 5:30couldn't use chat GPT enterprise because their
- 5:32data would have to go to the US Exactly. It was
- 5:35a regulatory brick wall. They were locked out.
- 5:37By building Hypervault in the country with Tata,
- 5:41OpenAI suddenly unlocks the entire Indian public
- 5:43sector. They can say your data never leaves Indian
- 5:47soil. That is a huge revenue door to open. You
- 5:50go from consumers to governments. And Tata isn't
- 5:53just the landlord here. They're also the biggest
- 5:55tenant. They're deploying chat GPT enterprise
- 5:58across their own massive workforce. We're talking
- 6:01hundreds of thousands of employees at TCS. That
- 6:04has to be one of the largest enterprise AI rollouts
- 6:07like ever. It is. And they're not just using
- 6:09it for emails. They're using OpenAI codex tools
- 6:12to basically standardize how their engineers
- 6:15write software. So you're taking a service business
- 6:18consulting and automating the core product, the
- 6:20code itself. It really signals that AI is shifting
- 6:23from a cool app to just Industrial infrastructure,
- 6:27like electricity or water. It's the utility that
- 6:29will power the next century. From the physical
- 6:31pipes of AI to the financial plumbing of Wall
- 6:33Street. Our second story is about Bitcoin. Not
- 6:37the price, but the plumbing underneath it. Yeah,
- 6:40this is a really fascinating story about the
- 6:42market maturing. It's about a crypto lender called
- 6:45Ledin. They've just sold $188 million in securitized
- 6:49bonds backed by Bitcoin loans. Okay, let's translate
- 6:52securitized bonds backed by Bitcoin loans into
- 6:55plain English. That is a mouthful. Think of it
- 6:58like a mortgage. A bank gives you a loan for
- 7:00a house, right? The house is the collateral.
- 7:03Then the bank bundles thousands of those mortgages
- 7:06together and sells a bond based on them. And
- 7:08investors buy the bond to get the interest payments.
- 7:11Standard Wall Street stuff. Right. Letten just
- 7:13did the exact same thing, but instead of houses,
- 7:16the collateral is Bitcoin. They bundled over
- 7:195 ,000 loans where people put up their Bitcoin
- 7:21to get cash. Here's where I get stuck though.
- 7:23A house is pretty stable. Bitcoin is spicy. We
- 7:26just said it can drop like a rock. How do you
- 7:28convince a conservative bond investor to touch
- 7:30that kind of risk? That is the aha moment. It's
- 7:33the technology. It's a concept you could call
- 7:35Robo repo. Robo repo. I like it. So how's it
- 7:38different from a regular foreclosure on a house?
- 7:40Well, foreclosure takes months, maybe years.
- 7:43Lawyers, courts, it's slow. And in that time,
- 7:47the house price could crash. Exactly. But Bitcoin
- 7:50trades $204 .7. You don't have months. You don't
- 7:52even have minutes. So, Leaden built a fully automated
- 7:55algorithmic liquidation engine. So, no human
- 7:58involved. No phone calls. None. If the loan -to
- 8:01-value ratio is 80%, the code just executes a
- 8:05sell order. Instantly. How? Less than 10 seconds.
- 8:08S &P Global Ratings actually looked at their
- 8:10history. Leaden has liquidated over 7 ,000 loans
- 8:14this way. And the results? Zero loss of principle.
- 8:17The machine is literally faster than the market
- 8:19can crash. It sells the asset before it can fall
- 8:22below the loan value. That is wild. You're basically
- 8:24replacing the court of law with the speed of
- 8:26code. And because of that speed, S &P gave the
- 8:29top slice of this bond an investment grade rating.
- 8:32B -B -B. That's the stamp of approval that lets
- 8:34the big pension funds and insurance companies
- 8:36buy it. So that's the bridge. You can package
- 8:39a wild asset like crypto into a boring bond,
- 8:42but only if the tech is ruthless enough to protect
- 8:45it. Ruthless is a good word. And it's catching
- 8:47on. Coinbase is expanding its lending now for
- 8:50assets like XRP, Dogecoin. So even with the market
- 8:53dipping, the underlying infrastructure is getting
- 8:55more professional. The robots are making crypto
- 8:58safe for the bankers. It's the industrialization
- 9:00of crypto. It's moving from the Wild West phase
- 9:02to the Wall Street phase. I love that. OK, our
- 9:04third story. We're going from high finance to
- 9:07high scores. This is the billion dollar puzzle.
- 9:10This story just blew my mind. So Stopley. The
- 9:14mobile gaming giant. They do Monopoly G. Right.
- 9:17Big name. Huge. They are buying a majority stake
- 9:21in a studio out of Istanbul called Loom. And
- 9:23the valuation on this deal is? Over one billion
- 9:26dollars. Loom is officially a unicorn. Okay.
- 9:29A billion dollar studio. They must have a huge
- 9:32catalog of hit games, right? Years of IP. You'd
- 9:35think. But Loom makes exactly one hit game. Pixel
- 9:38Flow. And here's the crazy part. Pixel Flow.
- 9:41launched in late 2025. Wait, we're in February
- 9:442026. The game is, what, four or five months
- 9:47old? That's right. In less than half a year,
- 9:48they went from zero to a billion dollar valuation.
- 9:51It already has over 10 million players. That
- 9:53is insane speed. What's the secret sauce? Is
- 9:56the game just that good? It's not about being
- 9:58good in the traditional sense. It's about mastering
- 10:01a specific genre called hybrid casual. OK, break
- 10:05that down. What is hybrid casual? Think of it
- 10:07like the mullet of gaming. All right, I'm listening.
- 10:10Business in the front, party in the back, the
- 10:13front is a hyper -casual game. Simple, colorful
- 10:16puzzles you can play for 30 seconds, anyone can
- 10:18pick it up. My grandma could play it, got it.
- 10:20Exactly, but the back, that's where the money
- 10:23is. It has all the deep systems of a hardcore
- 10:26game. Leaderboards, guilds, complex progression
- 10:30that keeps you hooked for months, not minutes.
- 10:32So it hooks you like a simple puzzle game that
- 10:35keeps you playing like a massive online RPG.
- 10:38Precisely. And that combination is just incredibly
- 10:40profitable. You monetize with ads for the casuals
- 10:43and in -app purchases for the hardcore players.
- 10:46It solves the biggest problem in mobile gaming.
- 10:49Retention. People usually get bored and delete
- 10:51these games after a week. Right. Loom crack the
- 10:54code on keeping them. And the human story is
- 10:57just as amazing. The founders, Kubra Gundulan
- 11:01and M. Ray Shellick, they just raised seed money.
- 11:04They were basically a garage startup. Now this.
- 11:06And they're staying in Istanbul to lead the team.
- 11:09This really connects the dots on Turkey becoming
- 11:11this massive hub for mobile gaming. It's the
- 11:15Silicon Valley of mobile games. They have this
- 11:17specific talent for what you might call dopamine
- 11:20engineering. Dopamine engineering. That sounds
- 11:23both impressive and a little terrifying. Well,
- 11:26that's the business. Scopely is betting a billion
- 11:28dollars that this is the future. I have to admit,
- 11:31while you're explaining the mullet theory, I
- 11:33may have looked up pixel flow. Oh no, did you
- 11:37download it? It's research. I have to understand
- 11:40the asset class. See what a billion dollars looks
- 11:42like. Careful. We still have a show to finish.
- 11:44Don't get lost in the loop. I'll try. But before
- 11:47we do wrap up and before I lose three hours to
- 11:49this game, we have one more quick mention. That's
- 11:52right. A quick shout out to Old Glory. If you're
- 11:55looking for a gift for that techie friend who
- 11:57also loves music or sports, you have to check
- 11:59them out. We talk about the future a lot. But
- 12:02sometimes it's cool to wear a bit of history.
- 12:04They are the iconic merch store. The best band
- 12:06tees, authentic sports jerseys. It's where you
- 12:09find something with actual personality. Totally.
- 12:11Just go to OldGlory .com. Hello? I'll say it
- 12:13once. OldGlory .com. And use our code SNARFUL
- 12:20for 15 % off your whole purchase. Good stuff.
- 12:23OK, let's bring it all home. We covered AI in
- 12:26India, crypto on Wall Street, and gaming in Turkey.
- 12:29What's the big picture here? It really is the
- 12:31maturation of our digital infrastructure. All
- 12:34three stories show a system growing up. How so?
- 12:36First, open AI. They're moving past the cool
- 12:39demo phase. With Tata, they're building AI as
- 12:42a utility. It's becoming fundamental, regulated
- 12:44like electricity. Putting on a suit and following
- 12:46the local laws. Exactly. Then you have lead and
- 12:48crypto. Same story. It's moving from the Wild
- 12:51West to Wall Street, but it's doing it by replacing
- 12:53the slow legal system with fast code. And finally,
- 13:00Scopely and Loom show the attention infrastructure
- 13:02is evolving. You can't just make a simple game.
- 13:05You need systems that engineer retention. And
- 13:08a Turkish studio showed that if you crack that
- 13:11code, you can build a billion dollars of value
- 13:14in six months. So whether it's the servers for
- 13:16your AI, the algorithms for your bonds, or the
- 13:20game loop on your phone, the underlying systems
- 13:23are all getting smarter, faster, and more automated.
- 13:26The pace is just accelerating. The pipes are
- 13:28being upgraded right under our feet. And we will
- 13:31be here to track where those pipes are leading.
- 13:33That's all the time we have for today. Thank
- 13:35you so much for tuning in. We really appreciate
- 13:37it. Yeah. And stay safe in that wind. We're here
- 13:39to help at Snarfle. So reach out on our website
- 13:41if you have any more questions. Have a great
- 13:43Thursday, everyone. See ya. That's a wrap on
- 13:48today's top stories. Remember, tech doesn't have
- 13:51to be complicated, and we're here to help connect
- 13:54the dots. If you've got questions or want to
