- 0:09Today's verse, Psalms 33 and 8. It says,
- 0:13Let all the earth fear the Lord, let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
- 0:19This is sort of a prayer when you think about it. It's not specifically prayed to God, but it's like a prayer out into the air to say,
- 0:26Everyone should do this. This makes sense, hearkening back to the power that God displayed at the creation, the cross and in the lives of believers aplenty.
- 0:34Has his willingness to die for his people altered their recognition of his power and the need to fear him?
- 0:40I can, we can trust him. People choose to trust him only enough to not fear him, and not actually enough to have him as a helper,
- 0:51which leaves them susceptible to the yearnings without the blessings of his return.
- 0:56Well, that sounds like foolishness. I say we trust him with our today, with our yesterday, with our tomorrow, with our eternity.
- 1:05He was big enough and powerful enough to make everything. He was big enough and powerful enough to part the Red Sea,
- 1:10to part the Jordan, to protect the Israelites into the promised land, to preserve his legacy,
- 1:15to make the Bible transition through to thousands of years later, to cause Jesus to die on the cross.
- 1:21Miracle upon miracles, and here we are in all creation testifying, we can trust him.
- 1:27In fact, let all the people of the earth fear the Lord, let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
