- 2:40Speaker 1: Mr Robert brace Hey. Thank you for having me and
- 2:46Speaker 1: to lay out there. Man. Yeah, a lot that's going
- 2:47Speaker 1: on in your life, man, for credits are all about
- 2:49Speaker 1: huh yeah, yeah, but it's still good show. Okay, gotta
- 2:56Speaker 1: gotta give us the background on the accent. Okay. On
- 3:00Speaker 1: originally from London, England, and I moved to New York
- 3:05Speaker 1: in my twenties to be a professional ballet and modern dancer.
- 3:09Speaker 1: So that's where that's where the accents comes from. Now,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I was reading your by always a soloist ballet dancer. Yes,
- 3:18Speaker 1: I was a soloist at the Metropolitan Opera ballet Um.
- 3:22Speaker 1: That was one of the things I did during my career.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I actually paying in scholarship to the Albany School just
- 3:28Speaker 1: for the summer, I'm supposed to go back to England
- 3:31Speaker 1: and I just never made it back. I've been her
- 3:33Speaker 1: under since so um so yeah, well you know, I
- 3:37Speaker 1: really I brought that up solo wids. You know that
- 3:40Speaker 1: you have that by yourself. That means that you know, slouch,
- 3:42Speaker 1: you have to have your skill game together, oh for sure.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Well yeah, coming to New York, New York, New York
- 3:50Speaker 1: as a beast and uh, you know, to to compete
- 3:53Speaker 1: here and especially to come from an other country, you
- 3:55Speaker 1: got to be serious affective game. Um so yeah, it was.
- 3:59Speaker 1: It was good. I had a good trying perform in
- 4:00Speaker 1: New York. Well great New York is one of my
- 4:02Speaker 1: favorite cities. It was the funny story I would share
- 4:05Speaker 1: with you. I was in New York yesterday being interviewed
- 4:08Speaker 1: by London Rio my man Brian Rose. He was in
- 4:11Speaker 1: town and uh, he was doing an interview on one
- 4:15Speaker 1: one oh two Mulberry Street, and I realized that, I say,
- 4:21Speaker 1: you know, I do all my my research, and I
- 4:22Speaker 1: looked up and I went, I think Robert Robert prices
- 4:25Speaker 1: on the street at one thirty two. So I rolled
- 4:27Speaker 1: down to one thirty two, you right above Birt Toe's clamhouse.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Uh tweet two E walked up the stairs at one level,
- 4:35Speaker 1: knocked the ring wrong, the bell a couple of times.
- 4:38Speaker 1: You know, they want to be banging, banging, banking, banging,
- 4:41Speaker 1: And I said, okay, I was surprised if with a
- 4:43Speaker 1: good story that I oh, you know, that's how I am, man.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I I try to really relate to the people who
- 4:48Speaker 1: come on my show of half time to go by
- 4:51Speaker 1: and shake their hands and say Hi, that's what all
- 4:53Speaker 1: I was doing yesterday. Awesome. Next, that would have been great. Well,
- 5:00Speaker 1: you said it was impromptu because of the fact that
- 5:02Speaker 1: my original interview was at one and then it was
- 5:04Speaker 1: that big parade that was going on in that area
- 5:07Speaker 1: yesterday and they pushed it down to three o'clock so
- 5:10Speaker 1: they can avoid the noise. And that allowed me to
- 5:12Speaker 1: really sit down and research where I was at. And
- 5:15Speaker 1: I just noticed your address and I went, I got
- 5:17Speaker 1: at least I got at least tell him I came by.
- 5:19Speaker 1: At least even I don't see him. Now, Now, why
- 5:23Speaker 1: did you choose your studio location at one thirty two
- 5:26Speaker 1: Mallberry Street, Unit to eat? You said, yes, uh number two,
- 5:33Speaker 1: You said, why did I choose that location? Sir, uh. Well,
- 5:37Speaker 1: we originally were in Soho and I had two partners
- 5:40Speaker 1: and great people, but the business was more parlates and
- 5:45Speaker 1: it wasn't really really aligned with what we were doing,
- 5:48Speaker 1: and we came to the end of our least. Now,
- 5:51Speaker 1: one of the things that's unique about our business, which
- 5:55Speaker 1: were very proud of, we train all everybody's welcome, were inclusive,
- 5:59Speaker 1: but we have a very strong African American high performing
- 6:04Speaker 1: female clientele UM and we you know, we'll get into
- 6:10Speaker 1: it in a bit. I imagine that we're about the mind,
- 6:12Speaker 1: body and soul. With my career as a dancer and
- 6:16Speaker 1: then I was also a minister in home for six
- 6:21Speaker 1: years where my wife I wanted a space where we
- 6:24Speaker 1: could explore how to connect mind, body and soul in
- 6:28Speaker 1: the place that especially black women, women of color could
- 6:33Speaker 1: feel safe. And you know, the Leader is a great location.
- 6:37Speaker 1: People can get to it and anywhere our specific location
- 6:41Speaker 1: and you know, and more practically, it was one of
- 6:44Speaker 1: the only spaces in New York that already had the
- 6:48Speaker 1: soundproofing UM already built in. So I saved quite a
- 6:53Speaker 1: bit of money doing that, but but that was it.
- 6:56Speaker 1: That was it. Now you're you're saying something interesting. You say,
- 6:58Speaker 1: we're women of can feel safe. What does that mean? Well, listen,
- 7:04Speaker 1: UM a few things. One I'll tell us storry deborately,
- 7:12Speaker 1: who's you know, pharmacy of the t She invited me
- 7:15Speaker 1: to do a wellness workshop. She has this accomplished call
- 7:19Speaker 1: leading women to fined. It's a hundred and fifty of
- 7:21Speaker 1: the highest profile women in business and entertainment and the anthropy.
- 7:25Speaker 1: So UM, we went out there and I did a
- 7:30Speaker 1: workshop which was fitness, but there was also a meditation,
- 7:33Speaker 1: There was also affirmations. UM, there was those spiritual as well.
- 7:38Speaker 1: And in that um, in that worldshop, we had I
- 7:42Speaker 1: had people coming up to me, UM, crying and saying,
- 7:46Speaker 1: thank you so much for seeing us, thank you so
- 7:49Speaker 1: much for thinking about us. And then when I go
- 7:52Speaker 1: to events, we had different corporate partners. We had partners
- 7:55Speaker 1: with the Athletic Store and done stuff with rebook then
- 7:58Speaker 1: and and then in women coming up and saying, you know,
- 8:02Speaker 1: we don't have a place that weekly go that celebrates us,
- 8:06Speaker 1: that celebrates connects who we are, where our bodies. We
- 8:11Speaker 1: don't have to steel like we are other and and
- 8:15Speaker 1: so for me it's um, it's just a badge of
- 8:19Speaker 1: honor to be able to support uh black women. And
- 8:24Speaker 1: we have an incredible clientele, like I said, Double Lee Angela,
- 8:27Speaker 1: Ry June Ambrose, Um, we have all of these fantastic women,
- 8:32Speaker 1: Lisa Price, Carol's daughter, and so if don't forget my
- 8:37Speaker 1: girl w BLS Days of Dasa, who has been with
- 8:41Speaker 1: us from day on when we had no gym we had,
- 8:44Speaker 1: we were just in, you know, renting out spaces Desil
- 8:47Speaker 1: who's awesome, UM, so shout out to her and she's
- 8:51Speaker 1: doing awesome things as well. But but yeah, we um,
- 8:56Speaker 1: they felt like they wanted a community that selled related them,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and we even created a book called The Magic, which
- 9:03Speaker 1: celebrates the rollers journeys of Black women and and so yeah,
- 9:08Speaker 1: that's that's a badge of honor for us. Look, I'm
- 9:11Speaker 1: married to a beautiful Black women and the two beautiful
- 9:14Speaker 1: black daughters, and my life is also an entrepreneur um
- 9:18Speaker 1: and so I see daily the struggle that she goes
- 9:22Speaker 1: with in terms of uh doing doing what she needs
- 9:25Speaker 1: to do out there with her business, but also managing
- 9:28Speaker 1: her stress levels and all that. So I'm surrounded by it.
- 9:31Speaker 1: So it's just you know, something I'm very touching about. Well,
- 9:35Speaker 1: you should stay that where I have six sisters, so
- 9:37Speaker 1: I feel and it it can relate to being able to
- 9:41Speaker 1: UH their pain that their pain is women and pain
- 9:43Speaker 1: is African American or black women. Is a different experience
- 9:46Speaker 1: and it should be understood as a different experience. It should,
- 9:49Speaker 1: but in the study needs to be communicated differently, handled differently,
- 9:53Speaker 1: and realize that their challenges should be recognized and also
- 9:57Speaker 1: appreciated their efforts to overcome those challenges. Then that's part
- 10:01Speaker 1: of the whole mind body and soul connector you know
- 10:04Speaker 1: that you have that, that's your monica known in the
- 10:06Speaker 1: Finnish community, is the mind body soul connector talk about that? Yes? Well,
- 10:11Speaker 1: I think when it comes to mind body and soul
- 10:15Speaker 1: it can almost seem ethereal. Like you, you can't put
- 10:19Speaker 1: your finial on exactly what it is. And so I
- 10:22Speaker 1: think it's really important to clearly define it for people
- 10:26Speaker 1: and make the connection. And so what do I mean
- 10:28Speaker 1: in the most basic form is this? You know, like
- 10:31Speaker 1: I said, I have a church background, and when you
- 10:33Speaker 1: think of any kind of faith based organization or doesn't
- 10:38Speaker 1: have to be an organization, any spiritual part right, what
- 10:41Speaker 1: people are typically looking for is UH spiritual qualities like joy,
- 10:46Speaker 1: like peace, a sense of control over their life, a
- 10:50Speaker 1: sense of control over their mind, and clear thinking. And
- 10:53Speaker 1: so we go to these built on the spiritual part
- 10:57Speaker 1: in search of these qualities. What I found when I
- 11:01Speaker 1: was dancing and when I started to move is that
- 11:03Speaker 1: I would I would be feeling these things that I
- 11:06Speaker 1: just thought it was because I was enjoying my dance
- 11:08Speaker 1: career and living my life. But once you really connect
- 11:12Speaker 1: with movement, you start to understand that when you move,
- 11:15Speaker 1: your body produces serotonin. Sarah Toonin is known as the
- 11:19Speaker 1: joy hormone because it produces joy. So if you've ever
- 11:23Speaker 1: had a workout and you come out feeling great about yourself,
- 11:25Speaker 1: that's the Sarah tolingly what and dolphins are also produced
- 11:28Speaker 1: when you work out, and in dolphins are known to
- 11:31Speaker 1: give you a sense of calm and peace and actually
- 11:33Speaker 1: relieve the symptoms of depression and anxiety as much as
- 11:37Speaker 1: prescription meditation. So you move your body, you you work out,
- 11:40Speaker 1: you get joy, you get peace. Exercise gives your gives
- 11:46Speaker 1: increases the prioritizing function of your brain. So if you
- 11:49Speaker 1: are prone to eating too much, shocking, too much, whatever,
- 11:53Speaker 1: too much and you need a sense of control over
- 11:55Speaker 1: your life and your decisions. Exercise does that for you.
- 11:58Speaker 1: It gives you and also more options to the brain
- 12:01Speaker 1: so you can think more clearly. I could go on,
- 12:03Speaker 1: but those qualities of joy, a peace, sense of control,
- 12:07Speaker 1: thinking can all be accessed through the temple of your body.
- 12:12Speaker 1: And what we try to do in our workouts is
- 12:16Speaker 1: everything from when you walk in, the energy producing drinks
- 12:21Speaker 1: that you're given, the workout that you're given, where you're
- 12:24Speaker 1: connecting with other people, increasing that sense of joy, love
- 12:28Speaker 1: and connection. We meditate at the end of every single workout.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Um the inducers we give at the end to give
- 12:34Speaker 1: you that sense of control over your appetite and a
- 12:39Speaker 1: sense of calm over your well being. So even at
- 12:42Speaker 1: the end of each session we meditate. We give our plants, cooling,
- 12:47Speaker 1: agil masks, our calm the spirit they get chills. I
- 12:52Speaker 1: like the fact that can I just tell you this, uh, Robert,
- 12:55Speaker 1: that whole meditating thing I think is important because I'm
- 12:57Speaker 1: a guy. I'm just talking about right now out and
- 13:00Speaker 1: I know you're dealing with women of color, but you know,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I'm so hyper in the system. I gotta go. I'm
- 13:06Speaker 1: tied to time I woke up at the same time
- 13:08Speaker 1: every day. That to me really calms you. You know,
- 13:13Speaker 1: I think that's the de stressor in your whole process,
- 13:16Speaker 1: is telling you, hey, don't run out the door. Let's
- 13:18Speaker 1: let's relax, let's let's let's bring all that down and
- 13:22Speaker 1: let's think about Well you're that's the that's the soul
- 13:24Speaker 1: connecting part of it, is it? Well, absolutely absolutely, and
- 13:28Speaker 1: and what you just said is absolutely correct. Is helping
- 13:31Speaker 1: people understand it's okay to slow down for five to
- 13:35Speaker 1: ten minutes, to meditate, get your breathing right, focus your
- 13:39Speaker 1: mind because you know people maybe something well I don't
- 13:43Speaker 1: know how to meditate. I can't do it. And what
- 13:45Speaker 1: we have is more of a guided meditation, so it
- 13:47Speaker 1: helps you through um. But yeah, it's so important to stop,
- 13:52Speaker 1: take a moment and be present. And yeah, that's what
- 13:57Speaker 1: we try to give our clients because you know, it's
- 13:59Speaker 1: important at all. You know, we all want to be successful,
- 14:02Speaker 1: we all want to drive and and New York is
- 14:04Speaker 1: already everybody stays it's in high stress. It's a high
- 14:07Speaker 1: stress city. You know, people push you around, its crowded,
- 14:10Speaker 1: you have traffic. You know, you can eat on the
- 14:12Speaker 1: streets you can eat. You know, there's so many different
- 14:14Speaker 1: layers of movements, so many ethnic groups just just keeps crossing.
- 14:18Speaker 1: As you cross the street, you can be amongst five
- 14:20Speaker 1: or six different ethnic groups. And so when you when
- 14:24Speaker 1: you speaking different languages as well, and so when you're
- 14:27Speaker 1: dealing with that level of stress, you know, I get
- 14:30Speaker 1: up in morning, like four o'clock, and I think about
- 14:33Speaker 1: incorporate what you're talking about more so because I do that,
- 14:36Speaker 1: I kind of go downstairs and my my room, I
- 14:39Speaker 1: stretch and and but I turn on the TV. I
- 14:42Speaker 1: think I'm ana turn off the TV and then just
- 14:44Speaker 1: start talking to myself more and just just getting myself
- 14:48Speaker 1: more and more focused for the day. Because that's good
- 14:50Speaker 1: advice that you're giving to everybody, and and it's relatable
- 14:54Speaker 1: with everybody. Slow it down, think about what your day is,
- 14:57Speaker 1: think about what you just accomplishing, Like appreciate who you are,
- 15:00Speaker 1: Appreciate your surroundings, connect with your body, and feel good
- 15:04Speaker 1: about the opportunities that this day is giving you that
- 15:07Speaker 1: you're being blessed with. That's the that's the that's the
- 15:09Speaker 1: minister side of you that comes in and and moves
- 15:12Speaker 1: us forward, which is awesome. Absolutely, absolutely. I think the
- 15:16Speaker 1: first hour of your day and the lost hour of
- 15:18Speaker 1: your day are very important. I'm loving this interview, my friend.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I'm talking to Robert Brace, my man. He's the money, mind, body,
- 15:30Speaker 1: soul connector. We'll be right back with more and talking
- 15:32Speaker 1: about this Day Challenge wellness program that he has started,
- 15:35Speaker 1: and talking about the influences that are tied to that program. Again,
- 15:39Speaker 1: we'll be back with more with my man, Robert Brace.
- 15:41Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more from McDonald. The money
- 15:44Speaker 1: making conversations don't touch that down. It's finally here, the

- 18:08Speaker 1: Turn celebrity trainer, he is known as the Mind, Body,
- 18:11Speaker 1: Soul Connector of New York City. He's a celebrity fitness
- 18:15Speaker 1: trainer and television personality. He has coming up what I
- 18:18Speaker 1: call a very uh but program. We know Where's the
- 18:21Speaker 1: first quarter? People always talk about I got a resolution.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I want to change my life, whether it's weight or gain,
- 18:26Speaker 1: or dating or habits they feel they need to break.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And it's always good to capture people when they have
- 18:32Speaker 1: that mindset that they want to create change. Isn't that correct,
- 18:35Speaker 1: Robert Oh, that is absolutely correct. You know, this is
- 18:39Speaker 1: the time of the year when everybody's thinking about that
- 18:42Speaker 1: change and excited about it and so I think if
- 18:46Speaker 1: we can just harness that feeling so it doesn't it
- 18:49Speaker 1: doesn't feed her out by the end of the month,
- 18:51Speaker 1: and then we can do some good things. We'll talk
- 18:54Speaker 1: to talk about this twenty eight days of workouts for
- 18:56Speaker 1: my twenty eight day Challenge program that you created. Okay, So,
- 19:01Speaker 1: first of all, the original twenty eight day Challenge was created.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I had a friend of mine who was as a
- 19:08Speaker 1: comedic filmmaker. He wanted to make saw all of these
- 19:12Speaker 1: magazine articles where they said you can get six pack
- 19:14Speaker 1: ads in thirty days. Right, it comes to me, it says,
- 19:17Speaker 1: I want to do a video where and I want
- 19:20Speaker 1: to see if this connectually happened. So we went at it.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I took on the challenge and instead of thirty days,
- 19:25Speaker 1: we totally transformed his body in twenty eight days. And
- 19:29Speaker 1: so that was in two thousand and eleven, and at
- 19:31Speaker 1: the time, we got postal a million views on that video,
- 19:35Speaker 1: and so people started to seek me out and my
- 19:38Speaker 1: team or to do the twenty eight day challenge. So
- 19:41Speaker 1: we've been doing that for years. And then as I
- 19:43Speaker 1: transitioned more into mind, body and soul um that twenty
- 19:47Speaker 1: eight day Challenge now includes the meditations, the affirmations and
- 19:53Speaker 1: also UM Mindset, Mindset and make Over points, which are
- 19:58Speaker 1: little motivational stories from my training experience, from my life
- 20:02Speaker 1: that help you kind of see fitness in a different way.
- 20:05Speaker 1: And so what we're doing at the beginning of the
- 20:08Speaker 1: year is if anybody goes to my Instagram which is
- 20:11Speaker 1: at Robert brace be our a CD, and you hit
- 20:16Speaker 1: the link in a buyer, you will get twenty eight
- 20:18Speaker 1: days of workouts from my twenty challenge program, twenty eight
- 20:21Speaker 1: days of guided meditations with affirmations that relieve stress, fining
- 20:25Speaker 1: peace and set your intentions for the year, as well
- 20:28Speaker 1: as twenty eight days of the wellness motivation chips and
- 20:31Speaker 1: insight from our personal life right. And we're also doing
- 20:34Speaker 1: in studio events which we live stream with some of
- 20:36Speaker 1: your favorite influences. We're just in one with Nourish Cross,
- 20:40Speaker 1: who is the first plus size model winner on projects
- 20:43Speaker 1: we're on wing UM and so it's a lot of
- 20:47Speaker 1: complimentary free content that you yet it's just to give
- 20:51Speaker 1: you everything you need for a complete mind, body and
- 20:55Speaker 1: soul transformation UM, including everything that we do in our
- 20:58Speaker 1: twenty eight challenge, so that before you added exactly because
- 21:03Speaker 1: you know this is what exactly is that? What what
- 21:08Speaker 1: did you do? What were you did you change the
- 21:10Speaker 1: food eating habits or was it specifically as she worked
- 21:14Speaker 1: on in the day period. Are you still use the
- 21:17Speaker 1: same technique or I know you've said you added the
- 21:19Speaker 1: the the the meditation and the condition and all that.
- 21:23Speaker 1: What was that original challenge about? Well, the original challenge, Yes,
- 21:28Speaker 1: it's food and it's exercise. The background to that story
- 21:33Speaker 1: as when I was dancing. I started to dance late
- 21:35Speaker 1: my dance career. I started at fifty and I was
- 21:38Speaker 1: lost enough to get into a program because I was
- 21:40Speaker 1: still athletic and I had some flexibility. But part of
- 21:44Speaker 1: that is I was on an accelerated program and um,
- 21:47Speaker 1: it was great, but some of it they didn't really
- 21:49Speaker 1: teach me profit technique, so I ended up I was
- 21:54Speaker 1: always getting injured, and then I was one day I
- 21:57Speaker 1: was in a nun's class where they're doing the big tricks. Um,
- 22:00Speaker 1: and you're doing all these giants and turning in and
- 22:03Speaker 1: I came down from a jump and I heard a
- 22:05Speaker 1: crack in my back and yeah, in my back, and
- 22:10Speaker 1: I developed a terrible back injury. I couldn't walk, I
- 22:13Speaker 1: can't move my net foward or back in the school
- 22:15Speaker 1: at that time, because I was on spolarship, so that
- 22:17Speaker 1: if you didn't, if you don't heal um, you're gonna
- 22:21Speaker 1: lose your scholarship. And all I wanted to do at
- 22:24Speaker 1: that time was dance, and so I dedicated that summer
- 22:29Speaker 1: um six weeks to coming into the studio, and my
- 22:33Speaker 1: job was to hear my body, deconstruct movement, strengthening it,
- 22:37Speaker 1: make it more flexible so that I can be exactly
- 22:39Speaker 1: what I needed to be to gain my sponsorships that
- 22:42Speaker 1: but also to be the best dance for I could be.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Got a sad effect of that was I transfer. I
- 22:47Speaker 1: mean I came out and I was my absolute rich
- 22:49Speaker 1: and my body was rich, and that the core right
- 22:52Speaker 1: got that core right, huh, that care was I mean,
- 22:55Speaker 1: it was intense. And so those principles are what I
- 22:59Speaker 1: moved over into the challenge. Not that anybody is doing dance,
- 23:04Speaker 1: but the principles of how a deconstructive movement, how we
- 23:08Speaker 1: have a very serious attention to form and engaging the
- 23:11Speaker 1: right muscles and a very detailed assessment of how we
- 23:15Speaker 1: use the body is what I took that velocity and
- 23:18Speaker 1: transferred it into weight training, resistance training that anybody can do.
- 23:23Speaker 1: And that's how we came about with the twenty Day
- 23:26Speaker 1: Challenge physical format, and then we have different meal plans
- 23:30Speaker 1: that meet different people's needs. Um. So that's that's the
- 23:33Speaker 1: story of how you know, times resformed. It was probably
- 23:37Speaker 1: the scared, one of the scariest times in my life
- 23:39Speaker 1: that you know what times you're mess into a message. So, um,
- 23:44Speaker 1: that's what we're using now. But you know, the thing
- 23:46Speaker 1: about it is there sometimes the best moments happened when
- 23:49Speaker 1: you walk through fear and like I said, fear and scary,
- 23:53Speaker 1: being being afraid, in overcoming that and not being not
- 23:56Speaker 1: being pushed back because like you said, you were challenged
- 23:58Speaker 1: by the fact physically if you don't if you don't
- 24:00Speaker 1: get it, get yourself physically right, you can lose your scholarship.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Out of that result became what we can we won't say,
- 24:07Speaker 1: we can use the word your perfect body, your core
- 24:09Speaker 1: is right, you were tight and then lead you to
- 24:12Speaker 1: this whole, this whole system that you have now which
- 24:14Speaker 1: is the basis of your brand. Yeah, that's exactly it. Wow,
- 24:20Speaker 1: that's exactly it. So we're not so so when you
- 24:23Speaker 1: talk about all these different formats. You know, because I'm
- 24:26Speaker 1: talking about the twenty eight day workout program, then what
- 24:29Speaker 1: is the resource solution? Is that still part of the challenge. Yes,
- 24:35Speaker 1: So the twenty resolutions is a little bit about what
- 24:38Speaker 1: I described earlier, setting your intentions for the year, right,
- 24:42Speaker 1: So just resolutions, right, We want to you have resolutions
- 24:47Speaker 1: who want to build a little deeper. We set your body,
- 24:51Speaker 1: refocus your mind, and refresh your soul. Right. So withoud
- 24:55Speaker 1: that you get all of the physical part of the
- 24:58Speaker 1: challenge that I just described, but you get the guided
- 25:01Speaker 1: meditations that will focus your heart, your spirit, your mind,
- 25:06Speaker 1: as well as the affirmations and wellness. It's we're all
- 25:09Speaker 1: about changing the perspective of how people see their bodies.
- 25:13Speaker 1: You know, you hear the phrase your body is your temple, right,
- 25:18Speaker 1: and yes, we have been We've got proven track record
- 25:21Speaker 1: of changing bodies really quickly. But the interesting thing about
- 25:24Speaker 1: that phrase is that when you think of a temple,
- 25:27Speaker 1: um it's beautiful on the outside and and it's it's Onnate,
- 25:32Speaker 1: But the temple is not a temple without the worship
- 25:35Speaker 1: and the self discovery that goes on inside that time. Right.
- 25:39Speaker 1: And so what we're focused on is helping you access
- 25:44Speaker 1: the best qualities of yourself, the self discovery that's going
- 25:47Speaker 1: to lead you to greatness, all of your the vine
- 25:50Speaker 1: given gifts. Focusing on that and letting that be the
- 25:54Speaker 1: reason why you work on the outside of your temple, right,
- 25:58Speaker 1: because we want the outside to reflect all of the beauty,
- 26:01Speaker 1: the glory and the ability dibility that's inside. And so
- 26:06Speaker 1: I think once we take away, um, you want to
- 26:09Speaker 1: help people focus inwards because for us, it's not just
- 26:11Speaker 1: about working out, it's about working in And once we
- 26:15Speaker 1: help people focus inwards, typically they feel better about themselves
- 26:19Speaker 1: than motivation is right, and they're able to get great results,
- 26:23Speaker 1: but not just get great results, but to live a
- 26:26Speaker 1: lifestyle of healthy living. Really this is really great. Uh,
- 26:31Speaker 1: let's let's go back to this because I want to
- 26:33Speaker 1: make sure that people take advantage of what you want
- 26:35Speaker 1: to have you on the show, in studio and live
- 26:38Speaker 1: stream events because you know, Peloton they really a lockdown
- 26:42Speaker 1: that market in the sense you know, when you pelling
- 26:44Speaker 1: on the bike you can participate with somebody. New Yard
- 26:46Speaker 1: called Another part of the World, is really gets people
- 26:49Speaker 1: enthusiastic about they're just just riding by themselves, they're actually
- 26:52Speaker 1: competing and being motivated by other people than they have
- 26:55Speaker 1: this new uh thing called the mirror. Well, you know
- 26:58Speaker 1: you'll be in front of the herror and can add
- 27:00Speaker 1: with somebody simultaneously. Because I think, so I want to
- 27:03Speaker 1: make sure that this is something you're saying you're doing
- 27:06Speaker 1: right now in studio, out of your New York studio.
- 27:09Speaker 1: There's on Mulberry Street these livestream and in studio events.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Correct talk about that more detailed, because I wanted people
- 27:14Speaker 1: to understand that they can go there be engaged physically.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Our online that can be engaged as well, for sure.
- 27:22Speaker 1: So what we do is we work for the many
- 27:26Speaker 1: different influences and another influenced people, people who have connected
- 27:31Speaker 1: in some way to the mind, body, soul connection. And
- 27:34Speaker 1: we have events in our studio where they share their stories,
- 27:38Speaker 1: they share their high as they say their loads, and
- 27:41Speaker 1: we really get to the bottom of what motivates them
- 27:43Speaker 1: to stay well and healthy. I mean live seeing those
- 27:46Speaker 1: events as well as the workout, So you do different
- 27:49Speaker 1: We do different kind of interactive workouts. It's yet really
- 27:52Speaker 1: fun um different ways for people to explore their body
- 27:55Speaker 1: as well as do the actual workout. And so if
- 27:57Speaker 1: you sign up or if you go to my instagram
- 28:01Speaker 1: Rubbert Brace and you hit the link in the bio
- 28:03Speaker 1: and part of UMU and we send you twenty eight
- 28:07Speaker 1: days of the workouts and the meditations. You will also
- 28:11Speaker 1: get notified of when we're having these events, so you
- 28:14Speaker 1: can show up to the studio or you can live
- 28:17Speaker 1: stream them and get this so much wisdom out there,
- 28:20Speaker 1: you know, I think if we connect with other people
- 28:23Speaker 1: who who are on their own wellness mind, body, soldiourney
- 28:25Speaker 1: and learned from their wisdom, it elevates all of us.
- 28:29Speaker 1: And so they can connect to that from just signing
- 28:31Speaker 1: up through the website there or just checking their Instagram,
- 28:34Speaker 1: because they're always amounting the same thing, right right, Uh.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Always my show is money making Conversation and always like
- 28:40Speaker 1: for my guests to provide some information or some tidbit
- 28:44Speaker 1: or some opportunity to show that you know, we always
- 28:47Speaker 1: see the end results, but they're always there's always a
- 28:49Speaker 1: journey to get to the end, because when you get
- 28:51Speaker 1: to the end, you're still moving forward now absolutely, and
- 28:54Speaker 1: people approach me about starting their business businesses type like this,
- 28:59Speaker 1: what if vice would you give them? And to move
- 29:01Speaker 1: forward a business plan to make sure that these these
- 29:04Speaker 1: things are in place, and I think first and foremost, Um, well,
- 29:11Speaker 1: I guess it's a two different things you're you're asking about.
- 29:14Speaker 1: You know, what we should think about when starting a
- 29:16Speaker 1: business or when starting a business business, which is understanding
- 29:19Speaker 1: the principles of starting this type of business or some
- 29:22Speaker 1: of the challenges you went through, like you said you
- 29:24Speaker 1: were were some previous partners and now you're by yourself,
- 29:27Speaker 1: so you know, those are different conversations. Yeah, I think
- 29:31Speaker 1: that you have to trust your talents and your interests,
- 29:37Speaker 1: and that sounds very basic, But what I mean is this.
- 29:40Speaker 1: I came, I came out of the ministry, and I
- 29:44Speaker 1: came back to did a bunch of different things that
- 29:46Speaker 1: came back to training. I was training for other people.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I had my own clients, and I would bounce around
- 29:52Speaker 1: the city training, sending people in different locations. And you know,
- 29:57Speaker 1: I used to have the mindset of man, you've done
- 30:01Speaker 1: too many things. You were a dancer, and when you
- 30:03Speaker 1: were a minister, and when I tried this entrepreneurial thing
- 30:06Speaker 1: that didn't work out. You know, I was going through
- 30:08Speaker 1: a period in my life. I was like, what are
- 30:10Speaker 1: you doing all these different things? How do they fit together?
- 30:14Speaker 1: And the more that people people started to connect with me.
- 30:20Speaker 1: UM for the different stages of my journey. People started
- 30:22Speaker 1: connect with me because they were attracted to the ballet background.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Other people started to connect with me because oh, here's
- 30:29Speaker 1: somebody who wants to stands the spiritual background. And then
- 30:32Speaker 1: entrepreneurs started connecting you with me because you know, I
- 30:36Speaker 1: had had a business and even though it didn't work
- 30:39Speaker 1: out the first one, UM, I understood their struggle. And
- 30:43Speaker 1: so then as I progressed, I started to see, I
- 30:47Speaker 1: just need to be me. One of the things that
- 30:50Speaker 1: I've been through m on what makes me and what
- 30:53Speaker 1: make my brand? And you know the needs that I see,
- 30:57Speaker 1: I see the need um all people. I don't want
- 31:01Speaker 1: to say our gens just for black women. We train everybody. UM.
- 31:05Speaker 1: And but you know the specific journey I had. I
- 31:08Speaker 1: was raised by a single, single mother and UM, you know,
- 31:14Speaker 1: she fought to give me the very best she and
- 31:18Speaker 1: she was an immigrant from Africa and moved to England.
- 31:20Speaker 1: She had dyslexia, so she was written off. She um
- 31:24Speaker 1: started to make dresses for a living. She only made
- 31:26Speaker 1: fifty cents address and that salary, she decided to put
- 31:30Speaker 1: me through private school. And you know, I saw her
- 31:34Speaker 1: work so much and not have the time to work
- 31:37Speaker 1: on her own wellness until much later in life. And
- 31:41Speaker 1: so even that experience of seeing my mother now enjoying
- 31:45Speaker 1: wellness and then a few times she she stopped to
- 31:48Speaker 1: play with us outside, how how much joy she had.
- 31:51Speaker 1: You know, all of those things in my life and
- 31:54Speaker 1: are real to me. And so that is what I
- 31:58Speaker 1: used as the basic inspiration from my business. Now beyond that, um,
- 32:03Speaker 1: then you just have to learn. It's just because you
- 32:05Speaker 1: have the respiration and you have a certain talent. What
- 32:07Speaker 1: I learned very quickly is you need to learn essential
- 32:11Speaker 1: business principles. And I spent money on insultants. I spend
- 32:17Speaker 1: money on courses. I spent money on books to try
- 32:21Speaker 1: and learn from the best people. And sometimes you know,
- 32:23Speaker 1: you're spending this money and you said, you know, I'm
- 32:25Speaker 1: not seeing an immediate you know, r O, I, I'm
- 32:28Speaker 1: not seeing an immediate return of my investment. But over
- 32:31Speaker 1: the years, you know, those things come together, and it's
- 32:35Speaker 1: about having the discipline to put the basic business principles
- 32:39Speaker 1: into practice and what's your business grow from there? Because
- 32:44Speaker 1: you know, one thing I'm a fund believer in is
- 32:46Speaker 1: just because you have a talent and an experience does
- 32:49Speaker 1: not necessarily make you an entrepreneur. Or makes you an
- 32:52Speaker 1: entrepreneur is learning those business principles that you put into practice, um,
- 32:57Speaker 1: you know, in the beginning, middle and end of your
- 33:00Speaker 1: journey exactly. So so that's some I guess that's in
- 33:03Speaker 1: my philosopy on that. That's that's an awesome philosophy. And
- 33:06Speaker 1: that's all I needed to hear and as all my
- 33:08Speaker 1: listeners needed to hear, because you're success. I'm talking to
