Postage Stamp Inspired Mural Celebrates St. Louis Arch’s 60 Years
The Gateway Arch is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, and a new mural will soon add to its story. Local artist Jillian Kaye was chosen as the winner of the Gateway Arch National Park Research Center Mural Competition, organized by the Jefferson National Parks Association. Her design, inspired by postage stamps, weaves together some of the most powerful chapters in American history, from the Lewis and Clark expedition to the fight for freedom led by Dred and Harriet Scott.
