- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, let's start with the issue that the media
- 0:05Speaker 1: has decided to go all in on, and they're claiming
- 0:09Speaker 1: that this is what dictators and tyrants do. They're claiming
- 0:14Speaker 1: that Donald Trump has gotten late night comedians fired Stephen
- 0:19Speaker 1: Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, and they're saying, like, who's going
- 0:23Speaker 1: to be next, And this is what a dictator and
- 0:25Speaker 1: a tyrant does. That is a lie, and we're going
- 0:29Speaker 1: to talk about that lie. So you understand it. When
- 0:33Speaker 1: Stephen Colbert was his show was canceled, all right, And
- 0:38Speaker 1: it's a different way than being fired. It was a
- 0:41Speaker 1: canceling of the show for one reason. It was the
- 0:45Speaker 1: canceling of the show because it wasn't making money and
- 0:50Speaker 1: apparently it was losing listen carefully like forty million dollars
- 0:53Speaker 1: a year. That is a lot of money. There was
- 0:57Speaker 1: not pressure from the President the United States of America
- 1:01Speaker 1: for Stephen Colbert's show to be canceled. There have been
- 1:05Speaker 1: a lot in the media that are now rewriting history
- 1:07Speaker 1: as we speak, and they're saying that in fact, the
- 1:11Speaker 1: people that are in charge of the network have now
- 1:14Speaker 1: explicitly said that CBS was not threatened or pushed to
- 1:21Speaker 1: do what I just said, like that didn't happen. And
- 1:25Speaker 1: so if you look at the facts, it was a
- 1:28Speaker 1: money issue. The show costs way too much money to produce,
- 1:33Speaker 1: and the ratings weren't there. Now, when Stephen Colbert was
- 1:36Speaker 1: let go, I said this on CNN at the time,
- 1:40Speaker 1: and I made it very clear, and I said, what
- 1:43Speaker 1: you guys are not understanding is this is not canceling
- 1:47Speaker 1: of an individual because of what he said. In fact,
- 1:50Speaker 1: I believe that CBS would love to keep Colbert on
- 1:52Speaker 1: attacking conservatives as long as they could. In fact, they
- 1:55Speaker 1: did it to the point where they were upside down
- 1:57Speaker 1: losing money on this show and there was no way out.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And so they had made the decision. They said months
- 2:02Speaker 1: earlier now in interviews CBS executives, months earlier, they decided
- 2:07Speaker 1: not to move forward with the show, not to renew
- 2:11Speaker 1: the show. So when you look at this and you
- 2:14Speaker 1: look at Colbert, it's a lie to say that Stephen
- 2:19Speaker 1: Colbert was canceled because of Donald Trump. In fact, let
- 2:24Speaker 1: me just let you hear from the ex Paramount chief
- 2:29Speaker 1: who is insisting that Colbert's cancelation had nothing to do
- 2:34Speaker 1: was seeking the Trump administration's approval for what is being
- 2:37Speaker 1: described as a mega merger. So this is again the
- 2:41Speaker 1: grand conspiracy theory of the left. Listen to her tell
- 2:44Speaker 1: the story in her own words.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Outside of the settlement, there are other actions taken to
- 2:49Speaker 2: ensure there would be regulatory approval. I think about rollbacks
- 2:53Speaker 2: of DEI policies. I think about some things like the
- 2:57Speaker 2: cancelation of Steve Colbert's show. You know that was never
- 3:01Speaker 2: explicitly stated as being part of getting regulatory approval, but
- 3:04Speaker 2: it's something that I think a lot of people assumed.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Do you think that they made the right choices to
- 3:10Speaker 2: ensure that they got the regulatory approval.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I'm not going to tie any of that to regulatory approval.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I can tell you that we had been looking at
- 3:18Speaker 3: late night. It was financially not viable. It had been
- 3:22Speaker 3: that way for a long time.
- 3:23Speaker 1: We paused. Listen to what she just said. Her words
- 3:27Speaker 1: right there was that I can and you know what, screw,
- 3:31Speaker 1: I'm going to back it up. I'm going to back
- 3:32Speaker 1: it up so that you can hear her words again.
- 3:34Speaker 1: It wasn't viable, she said, and it hadn't been viable
- 3:38Speaker 1: for a long time, meaning they let it go way
- 3:41Speaker 1: past the expiration date because they loved the propaganda of
- 3:46Speaker 1: their network attacking conservatives night.
- 3:49Speaker 3: It was financially not viable. It had been that way
- 3:53Speaker 3: for a long time. We had made a decision months
- 3:56Speaker 3: prior to the announcement that we were not going to
- 3:58Speaker 3: be going forward with that show. I love Stephen, he
- 4:00Speaker 3: does a great job, but we really needed to be
- 4:02Speaker 3: in a financially viable business and you saw we did
- 4:04Speaker 3: that with James Corden as well. And in terms of DEI,
- 4:08Speaker 3: I think the reasons why DEI exists matter and will
- 4:12Speaker 3: always matter, and we need to continue to fight for
- 4:14Speaker 3: those issues. But I think the way in which DEI
- 4:17Speaker 3: has been executed has often led to more problems than
- 4:20Speaker 3: it solved. So any of the changes that were made
- 4:23Speaker 3: or continue to be made, but under us, I think
- 4:26Speaker 3: we were trying to create an environment that would address
- 4:28Speaker 3: the issues in a different way.
- 4:30Speaker 1: So translation, this is all PCBs. I'm going to go
- 4:34Speaker 1: back and I'm going to play for you what I
- 4:36Speaker 1: said on Stephen on Stephen Colbert being canceled. Now, this
- 4:40Speaker 1: was the night after Stephen Colbert was canceled. I said
- 4:43Speaker 1: this on Abby's show on CNN, And this goes to
- 4:47Speaker 1: the core of why his show was canceled because he
- 4:51Speaker 1: lost his audience.
- 4:53Speaker 4: They're going to get effected by some of this too,
- 4:55Speaker 4: I would say s Letterman A Leno did a much
- 4:57Speaker 4: better job of having on George Bush and then having
- 5:00Speaker 4: on Bill Clinton.
- 5:01Speaker 1: They actually did a better job.
- 5:04Speaker 3: It was a different time, but it doesn't.
- 5:06Speaker 1: My point is if you stop doing it, and there
- 5:09Speaker 1: are people like me that just we don't even care.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I don't even know when the show's on. That's how
- 5:13Speaker 1: irrelevant it is. Because once he hate Once it was
- 5:16Speaker 1: so clear how much sustain he had for conservatives, and
- 5:18Speaker 1: it wasn't funnymore, you're gonna lose your show.
- 5:21Speaker 4: I mean, listen, I really yeah, I honestly I'm with
- 5:27Speaker 4: Cherrey on this one. I mean, I think you can.
- 5:29Speaker 4: I think it's a little speculative that Elizabeth Warren of
- 5:32Speaker 4: it all, but there's no question that the direction of
- 5:35Speaker 4: linear television is going in a certain place. So that
- 5:38Speaker 4: is the by far, probably one of the bigger factors.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Can I give you a quick on yeh.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But I just love there how they will not accept
- 5:45Speaker 1: the truth Colbert had made your disdain for conservatives and
- 5:49Speaker 1: it wasn't funny anymore, and he lost his audience, and
- 5:53Speaker 1: that's what led to the cancelation. The ex paramount chief
- 5:56Speaker 1: insisting Colbert's cancelation had nothing to do with seeking Trump approval.
- 6:00Speaker 1: It was about the show was unsustainable. So now you
- 6:04Speaker 1: fast forward to right now and they're all saying that,
- 6:09Speaker 1: you know, Stephen Colbert, and now you've got Jimmy Kimmel,
- 6:14Speaker 1: this is all about a dictator. All right, Let's look
- 6:18Speaker 1: at what Kimmel said. Kimmel said, quote, we hit some
- 6:21Speaker 1: new lows over the weekend with a maga gang desperately
- 6:25Speaker 1: trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as
- 6:28Speaker 1: anything other than one of them. Okay, that's a lie.
- 6:31Speaker 1: We know he wasn't a conservative. We know he's a liberal.
- 6:34Speaker 1: We know he hated Charlie Kirk. We know that he
- 6:36Speaker 1: wanted to take out Charlie Kirk because Charlie Kirk was
- 6:38Speaker 1: saying mean things he believed about his lover and he
- 6:42Speaker 1: couldn't take the hate anymore, and so he said I'm
- 6:44Speaker 1: going to kill him. That's his own words and his
- 6:45Speaker 1: own text messages. So he's lying to you, and he
- 6:49Speaker 1: knows that he's lying to you. When he says this,
- 6:51Speaker 1: he's trying to say, this is somehow maga kid. Everybody knows,
- 6:54Speaker 1: the reason why I killed Charlie kirkis because he hated
- 6:55Speaker 1: the maga kid. He hated him, He hated him. Back
- 7:00Speaker 1: to the exact quote, Charlie Kirk is anything other than
- 7:05Speaker 1: than one of them, and doing everything they can to
- 7:07Speaker 1: score political points from it. That's also not just a lie,
- 7:11Speaker 1: it's sick. And by the way, look at the time frame.
- 7:14Speaker 1: By the time Kimmel did this monologue, it was already
- 7:17Speaker 1: extremely clear from the governor, local law enforcement, and our
- 7:22Speaker 1: federal government law enforcement that Charlie Kirk accused assassin and
- 7:26Speaker 1: by the way, in his own words, was a leftist
- 7:29Speaker 1: in a relationship with a furry transsexual. That's not a
- 7:34Speaker 1: maga kid, okay. And knowing this, Kimmel still told tens
- 7:39Speaker 1: of thousands of people who still watched the show that
- 7:43Speaker 1: the alleged sassion was in fact magas. So it's his fault,
- 7:47Speaker 1: Donald Trump's fault, It's conservative's fault that Charlie Kirk was killed,
- 7:51Speaker 1: which doesn't make any sense logically, but hey, who cares
- 7:54Speaker 1: about facts, right, Let's not even care about facts at all?
- 7:59Speaker 1: The second reason why he was fired is because already
- 8:02Speaker 1: the show was losing money. And so you had two
- 8:06Speaker 1: of the country's biggest affiliates. And again, this is not
- 8:09Speaker 1: cancel culture. This is this is Nextstar in Sinclair Media
- 8:14Speaker 1: who had had enough. Both of those networks that are
- 8:18Speaker 1: affiliates told Disney and ABC that they were done during
- 8:23Speaker 1: airing a late night show that is attacking literally their audience,
- 8:27Speaker 1: and it's a show that is only pleasing to LA
- 8:30Speaker 1: and New York viewers and maybe Boston and some other
- 8:34Speaker 1: places like that. But in normal America, no one is
- 8:37Speaker 1: watching Jimmy Kimmel anymore for the reasons that I just stated.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And he had lost his audience in the core demographic
- 8:46Speaker 1: that you need. With an audience, okay, in a core
- 8:49Speaker 1: demographic that you need, it is a the younger generation,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and that's how you buy ads. He was down to
- 8:55Speaker 1: like one hundred and twenty something thousand. He was over
- 8:59Speaker 1: a million a decade ago. This was a massive drop
- 9:03Speaker 1: in audience size. And so when you have Nextstar in
- 9:07Speaker 1: Saint Clair, who are about to make him even smaller,
- 9:10Speaker 1: both of them telling were done with the show because
- 9:12Speaker 1: we're done with him attacking Americans never forget if this
- 9:16Speaker 1: was really about cancel culture. Is that is the left
- 9:18Speaker 1: trying to claim that this is like a dictator and tyrant,
- 9:20Speaker 1: like getting people fired in media. Jimmy Kimmel would have
- 9:23Speaker 1: been fired, okay when he said that people that went
- 9:28Speaker 1: to a hospital and if it's overcrowded, they hadn't gotten
- 9:31Speaker 1: the COVID vaccine deserved to die and not get care.
- 9:34Speaker 1: He did not get canceled, and he said that why
- 9:37Speaker 1: because I believe ABC and Disney love this guy. They
- 9:42Speaker 1: held on to him while he was losing money for
- 9:44Speaker 1: a very long time. Yes, they were then finally at
- 9:47Speaker 1: the point where they were looking for an out Stephen
- 9:50Speaker 1: Colbert was not fired for censorship. It was because the
- 9:52Speaker 1: show sucked. He wasn't funny anymore. He hated half American
- 9:56Speaker 1: alien of them, and there wasn't enough audience left to
- 9:59Speaker 1: cover that. That is a very risky bet now, per
- 10:04Speaker 1: the Hollywood Reporter, Disney asked Kimmel to address the lie
- 10:08Speaker 1: he told in a way that quote would take down
- 10:10Speaker 1: the temperature what he planned to do, by the way
- 10:13Speaker 1: we were being told on Wednesday night. Instead, the report says,
- 10:15Speaker 1: was going to fan the flames with the Maga fan base.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Someone who worked on the show basically confirmed this while
- 10:22Speaker 1: claiming to deny it. No, no, The source said Jimmy
- 10:25Speaker 1: was not planning of making it worse, but he also
- 10:29Speaker 1: wasn't cow telling to Maga. Okay, so now we know
- 10:34Speaker 1: now by the time all this had happened, so you
- 10:37Speaker 1: understand the timeline, sixty six big affiliates of the roughly
- 10:41Speaker 1: two hundred affiliate stations had said they would not carry
- 10:44Speaker 1: the episode, and that's when ABC announced it was suspending
- 10:47Speaker 1: the program. And that's when the left and the crazy
- 10:51Speaker 1: media started to blame the FCC. When the Trump administration
- 10:54Speaker 1: had allowed ABC Disney to brazenly violate the public interest
- 10:58Speaker 1: clause in the broadcast for five years, four years in
- 11:02Speaker 1: the Trump's first term and nearly a year into Trump's
- 11:04Speaker 1: second term. That is how you could argue this right.
- 11:08Speaker 1: And the arrogant Jimmy Kimmel is the one who got
- 11:12Speaker 1: him suspended. And it wasn't for what he said the
- 11:14Speaker 1: other night. It was for alienating and attacking over half
- 11:18Speaker 1: the country every chance he could. And then when he
- 11:22Speaker 1: had his screw up, he refused to do the decent
- 11:24Speaker 1: and honorable thing, and that's when affiliate said, we're done, right,
- 11:30Speaker 1: we are done until Jimmy Kimmel agrees to retract his
- 11:32Speaker 1: lie and tell the truth. We're done now. I don't
- 11:37Speaker 1: know if Kima will ever apologize, because he's got a
- 11:39Speaker 1: money where he can just say, here's a middle finger.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I don't care, but I do think it's interesting how
- 11:44Speaker 1: the media is trying to protect him. All the other
- 11:47Speaker 1: late night hosts, by the way, they're a narcissists, trying
- 11:49Speaker 1: to make it about themselves too in this big kumbah
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yah United moments, And I'll read you some of that
- 11:53Speaker 1: in a moment so that you can hear what they're saying,
- 11:56Speaker 1: because it is pretty disgusting. But Jimmy Fallon, responding to
- 12:00Speaker 1: Hanimmel situation, said quote, I know Jimmy Kimmel and he's
- 12:02Speaker 1: a decent, funny and loving guy. That's not true. If
- 12:06Speaker 1: he was, he wouldn't have said that people deserve to
- 12:08Speaker 1: die if they didn't get the COVID vaccine. Like I'm
- 12:13Speaker 1: going to call bs there. And the way that they
- 12:15Speaker 1: did their monologue was like this me too type movement. Right,
- 12:18Speaker 1: we'll stand with you, We'll stand with you, And it's
- 12:21Speaker 1: pretty pathetic, but also I would say not surprising, because
- 12:25Speaker 1: this is what the Democratic Party has become. They have
- 12:30Speaker 1: become a group of radical extremists, and a small group
- 12:34Speaker 1: of them are just i would say, straight domestic terrorists,
- 12:37Speaker 1: and this is what they believe. All right, I want
- 12:41Speaker 1: to take a moment and I want to talk to
- 12:42Speaker 1: you real quick about what you can do to help
- 12:46Speaker 1: the people in Israel. It was nearly two years ago
- 12:50Speaker 1: that the terrorists murdered more than twelve hundred innocent Israelis
- 12:54Speaker 1: and they took two hundred and fifty hostages. Today it
- 12:57Speaker 1: seems as if the cries of the dead and dying
- 13:00Speaker 1: have been drowned out by the shouts of anti Semitism
- 13:03Speaker 1: and just pure hatred, not just in America but around
- 13:05Speaker 1: the world. And the most brutal attack on Jewish people happened.
- 13:09Speaker 1: It happened since the Holocausts, and now it's like they're
- 13:13Speaker 1: trying to act like it never happened. Now, this is
- 13:17Speaker 1: where it is important for us to stand with the
- 13:19Speaker 1: people in Israel. It's a movement of love and support
- 13:23Speaker 1: for the people of Israel, and this is where I
- 13:26Speaker 1: want you to get involved. It is called Flags of Fellowship.
- 13:30Speaker 1: It's being organized by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
- 13:34Speaker 1: On October fifth, you can stand with Israel and the
- 13:39Speaker 1: victims proudly. Just a few weeks away, millions across America
- 13:44Speaker 1: will prayerfully plant an Israeli flag in honor and solidarity
- 13:49Speaker 1: with the victims of October the seventh, twenty twenty three,
- 13:53Speaker 1: and stand with their grieving families. You can be a
- 13:57Speaker 1: part of this movement as well. And that's what I
- 14:00Speaker 1: love about what IFCJ does. They're making sure that the
- 14:03Speaker 1: world knows there there are lots of people of faith
- 14:06Speaker 1: in this country and friends and advocates for Israel. They're
- 14:10Speaker 1: going to stand with them. You can get more information
- 14:13Speaker 1: about how you can join the Flags of Fellowship movement,
- 14:16Speaker 1: including your church. There are going to be countless churches
- 14:20Speaker 1: around the country they're going to plant flags as well.
- 14:23Speaker 1: So all you have to do to get involved with
- 14:25Speaker 1: Flags of Fellowship movement is go to if CJ dot org.
- 14:30Speaker 1: That's if CJ dot org stand with Israel on October
- 14:34Speaker 1: the fifth. It's just a few weeks away. And if
- 14:37Speaker 1: your church you think would want to be involved, you
- 14:39Speaker 1: can also find out more about how to get your
- 14:41Speaker 1: church to be involved on a special Sunday at IFCJ
- 14:46Speaker 1: dot org. That's if CJ dot org. I've also one
- 14:52Speaker 1: other point I want to make on this is I've
- 14:53Speaker 1: seen a lot of people saying that this is like
- 14:55Speaker 1: consequence culture, that's like some of new things, It's like
- 14:59Speaker 1: happen in the last twenty four hours. I don't believe
- 15:02Speaker 1: that that is what happened to Jimmy Kimmel. I believe
- 15:04Speaker 1: that it is actually as simple as they were losing
- 15:07Speaker 1: millions of dollars on a show that no one was watching,
- 15:11Speaker 1: and they saw an opportunity to get out. If he
- 15:14Speaker 1: was making the money, he would still be in the
- 15:15Speaker 1: ar right now, even after what he said about Charlie Kirk,
- 15:19Speaker 1: because he's been able to say things like that for
- 15:22Speaker 1: a very long time. A great example is just rewind
- 15:26Speaker 1: to when he said it COVID. If you hadn't gotten
- 15:28Speaker 1: the vaccine and show up at a crowded hospital, you
- 15:31Speaker 1: deserve not to get treatment, you deserve to die. And
- 15:34Speaker 1: he didn't get fired then, So this is not a consequence.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I don't believe that ABC News here is doing the
- 15:42Speaker 1: right thing. This was a financial decision. I'm also not
- 15:48Speaker 1: in favor of limiting free speech, okay, but if you
- 15:53Speaker 1: cheer and mock a violent assassination of someone like Charlie Kirk,
- 15:58Speaker 1: should there be a consequence for that? If you're employed
- 16:01Speaker 1: by a private company like ABC and Disney, even as
- 16:05Speaker 1: woke in liberal and radical as they are, you would
- 16:09Speaker 1: hope there'd be a consequence. I do not believe ABC
- 16:11Speaker 1: News did this as a consequence for him. It was
- 16:15Speaker 1: a business decision. They had lost a bunch of affiliates
- 16:19Speaker 1: from two different affiliate groups, and they said, well, now
- 16:24Speaker 1: this is beyond unsustainable, so I will not give ABC
- 16:28Speaker 1: News credit. By the way, they still air The View.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Let's also be clear about that. Now, there's been a
- 16:34Speaker 1: lot that has been said in the last twenty four
- 16:37Speaker 1: to forty eight hours about the FCC and the fact
- 16:41Speaker 1: the SCC should be looking into these shows like The View.
- 16:43Speaker 1: I want to caution you on that, and I want
- 16:47Speaker 1: to make it very clear why I want to caution
- 16:49Speaker 1: you on that. Okay, I know that there are ebbs
- 16:53Speaker 1: and flows in politics. Jimmy Carter gave us Ronald Reagan,
- 16:58Speaker 1: then he gave us then we got Bush, and then
- 16:59Speaker 1: we got Bill Clinton, and then we got Bush, then
- 17:02Speaker 1: we got Barack Obama and then we got Trump, and
- 17:04Speaker 1: then we got Joe Biden. Kamala Harris. I am a
- 17:07Speaker 1: history of the presidency and the history of politics, guy,
- 17:13Speaker 1: and I can promise you Democrats in my lifetime will
- 17:16Speaker 1: be back in power multiple times. And if we start
- 17:21Speaker 1: using the sec to go after our political opponents, who
- 17:26Speaker 1: by the way, are dying on their own on the
- 17:29Speaker 1: air because the audience is disappearing, because the American people
- 17:34Speaker 1: are starting to reject this woke, radical ideology of the left.
- 17:39Speaker 1: If we start advocating for people to get fired, then
- 17:43Speaker 1: when they're in power, they are going to come after
- 17:45Speaker 1: us tenfold. They already did it. By the way, the
- 17:48Speaker 1: last time they had conservatives like myself that were canceled
- 17:51Speaker 1: on social media, they had kick Donald Trump off of
- 17:54Speaker 1: social media platforms, all of them where he had to
- 17:57Speaker 1: make his own. We saw the government conspiring with private
- 18:03Speaker 1: sector to silence and censor into throttle conservatives. We do
- 18:08Speaker 1: not want to play that game. We do not want
- 18:11Speaker 1: to play that game. I'm actually don't think they should
- 18:16Speaker 1: have fired him a long time ago. I like knowing
- 18:19Speaker 1: that their radical leftists out there that are alienating a
- 18:26Speaker 1: lot of America and bringing them to the conservative side
- 18:30Speaker 1: of things. I actually like that there is Ilama Omars
- 18:32Speaker 1: out there and the aocs because I actually think that
- 18:36Speaker 1: people are just realizing how crazy the left has become
- 18:40Speaker 1: and how hateful they are. Jimmy Kimmel wasn't funny. He
- 18:43Speaker 1: was mean spirited man like. I think he did more
- 18:46Speaker 1: harm on TV than good for the Democrats that he
- 18:50Speaker 1: had on his show. I think it destroyed late night television.
- 18:54Speaker 1: And there's just a certain point of being like those people.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I don't want to be associated with this. People are
- 18:59Speaker 1: sick and that's what he'd I think, become to represent.
- 19:02Speaker 1: So I actually liked him on the air. And look, yes,
- 19:06Speaker 1: he quote got fired. Okay, he got fired because of
- 19:11Speaker 1: what he said about about Charlie. No, he got fired
- 19:13Speaker 1: because his ratings sucked and they looked for an opportunity
- 19:16Speaker 1: to get rid of him, and this was the one
- 19:18Speaker 1: they could do it on. And I'll give you this
- 19:20Speaker 1: scenario on this so that people understand it. Several years ago,
- 19:24Speaker 1: Democrats pushed hard to get rid of conservative talk radio.
- 19:28Speaker 1: They said it was unfair that there were so many
- 19:31Speaker 1: conservatives on talk radio and there weren't enough liberals, and
- 19:35Speaker 1: they were talking about equal time like they wanted it. Basically,
- 19:37Speaker 1: if you had three hours of Limbaugh or Levin or Ferguson,
- 19:41Speaker 1: that you had to have three hours of counterprogramming of
- 19:44Speaker 1: a left a lefty. That's what they were. That was
- 19:46Speaker 1: their argument. They wanted to shut down conservative talk stations.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Now luckily it didn't happen. I believe now that's exactly
- 19:54Speaker 1: what they would do if they got power. If we
- 19:57Speaker 1: start abusing the power at the FCC to start silencing
- 20:01Speaker 1: people that we disagree with, there will be precedent and
- 20:03Speaker 1: there will be hell to pay, and you will watch
- 20:05Speaker 1: the number of news talk stations disappear overnight, or they
- 20:09Speaker 1: will start mandating that you put on the liberals to
- 20:12Speaker 1: counter the conservative programming, and that also would kill conservative
- 20:17Speaker 1: talk radio. You don't weaponize the SEC. It is supposed
- 20:23Speaker 1: to be non partisan. It is supposed to be non political.
- 20:27Speaker 1: And that is the point that everybody needs to just
- 20:29Speaker 1: keep their eye on the ball here and understand that
- 20:33Speaker 1: this is a terrible move by us if we want
- 20:36Speaker 1: to weaponize our government to go after them, because they'll
- 20:38Speaker 1: do it right back to us. And there's an argument
- 20:40Speaker 1: you'll go, well, they already did it to us, So
- 20:41Speaker 1: it's fair game. You cannot get this back in the
- 20:47Speaker 1: box if you use it to start getting people fired,
- 20:51Speaker 1: because and they will use it ten times harder on
- 20:53Speaker 1: us than we ever could have imagined before. That's how
- 20:56Speaker 1: extreme they are, So don't give them the opportunity. I
- 21:00Speaker 1: don't believe this is abuse of the airwaves, as some
- 21:02Speaker 1: have tried to describe it. I don't believe that. I
- 21:05Speaker 1: want to be clear. I think this was just a
- 21:08Speaker 1: scumbag whose ratings were down forty three percent. Long before
- 21:13Speaker 1: Charlie kirk Lie happened. You had only one hundred and
- 21:16Speaker 1: twenty nine thousand viewers, and the coveted Demo and Jimmy
- 21:21Speaker 1: Kimmel's ratings have been in the toilet for years, and
- 21:25Speaker 1: finally it got to the point where they just said,
- 21:28Speaker 1: we went out and they and he gave them a reason,
- 21:32Speaker 1: and Disney said, yay, we're going to save a bunch
- 21:35Speaker 1: of money. At the beginning of the year. At the
- 21:38Speaker 1: beginning of the year, Kimmel had one point nine five
- 21:41Speaker 1: million total viewers. By the end of August, two weeks
- 21:44Speaker 1: before his long overdue suspension, all right, the number had
- 21:47Speaker 1: plummeted to just one point one million viewers. How did
- 21:50Speaker 1: he lose nine hundred and forty thousand viewers in the
- 21:55Speaker 1: first half of the year because he'd become so mean
- 21:57Speaker 1: spirited and hateful towards Donald Trump in his monologues that
- 22:03Speaker 1: they basically conservatives and even moderates like, I'm done with you,
- 22:08Speaker 1: like you've gone crazy, right, you've gone nuts. You're nowhere
- 22:14Speaker 1: close to being funny where you were The post, by
- 22:17Speaker 1: the way, and your post pointed out those rating slide
- 22:20Speaker 1: is down forty three percent from January, that is at
- 22:24Speaker 1: one point nine to five million. His August household rating
- 22:27Speaker 1: was a zero point three to five. It marked the
- 22:29Speaker 1: weakest showing of the year, and that what would be
- 22:33Speaker 1: most concerning the ABC Disney is if the corporation driven
- 22:38Speaker 1: by profit, decided to stay with hate right, because we
- 22:43Speaker 1: were seeing the collapse of Kimmel's viewers. The eighteen to
- 22:47Speaker 1: forty nine age demo, which sets the advertising rates, the
- 22:50Speaker 1: number was at two hundred and twelve thousand and January.
- 22:54Speaker 1: By August that number had dropped to one hundred and
- 22:57Speaker 1: twenty nine thousand, and so Stephen Colbert, by the way,
- 23:02Speaker 1: he was, you know, they cancel the show. He's still
- 23:04Speaker 1: in the air, but he's gonna be It's at the
- 23:05Speaker 1: end of the year. It's gone. He was some said
- 23:09Speaker 1: fired by CBS. The show was just canceled. It lost
- 23:13Speaker 1: around fifty million dollars a year. It currently attracts, by
- 23:16Speaker 1: the way more viewers at two point five to seven
- 23:19Speaker 1: million total viewers and two hundred and eighty one thousand
- 23:22Speaker 1: and the demo that is coveted for advertisers. So just
- 23:25Speaker 1: to put it in perspective, Jimmy Kimmel was way I
- 23:29Speaker 1: mean one hundred and twenty nine thousand and the key
- 23:31Speaker 1: demo compared to two eighty one for Stephen Colbert, and
- 23:36Speaker 1: Colbert was losing them money. The Late Night is done
- 23:40Speaker 1: with because they were so hateful for so long that
- 23:43Speaker 1: the that half of America will never watch them, and
- 23:46Speaker 1: the other half of America has a lot of other
- 23:49Speaker 1: options to watch, streaming shows, on demand shows. The list
- 23:52Speaker 1: goes on and on and so the audience is smaller.
- 23:55Speaker 1: There's more people that spend time on social media than
- 23:58Speaker 1: ever before because of the phone that's in her hand,
- 24:01Speaker 1: so grabbing viewers is extremely hard. He took them for granted.
- 24:06Speaker 1: He hated on too many people for far too long.
- 24:09Speaker 1: And that's where you get yourself in the situation that
- 24:11Speaker 1: he's in right now. So I don't feel sorry for him,
- 24:14Speaker 1: But I'm also not giving praise to ABC News like
- 24:18Speaker 1: they quote did the right thing. I'm not buying that
- 24:21Speaker 1: at all. And the rich narcissists, they're all getting together
- 24:24Speaker 1: right now. John Stuart, Stephen Colbert make Jimmy Kimmel's suspension
- 24:28Speaker 1: all about Stuart, by the way, and Colbert, they're all
- 24:31Speaker 1: like woe as me?
- 24:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:33Speaker 1: If you're looking for an oasis away from the left
- 24:36Speaker 1: bitter and divisive politicalization of Charlie Kirk's brutal murder, former
- 24:40Speaker 1: comedian John Stuart and Stephen Colbert were not the place
- 24:43Speaker 1: to go. John Nolte's saying this and Breitbart both once
- 24:47Speaker 1: again bus abused their late night purchase to make the
- 24:51Speaker 1: long overdue suspensions of Jimmy Kimmel all about them. Stuart was,
- 24:55Speaker 1: so you go to make it all about John Stewart.
- 24:57Speaker 1: He rushed into the studio on Thursday, even though he
- 24:59Speaker 1: normally only works Mondays. John Stewart returned the Daily Show
- 25:03Speaker 1: with a government approved program and referred to President Donald
- 25:06Speaker 1: Trump as a great father and dear leader. He joked
- 25:09Speaker 1: about Trump's recent visit to the UK and played a
- 25:12Speaker 1: clip of a reporter's question about Kimmel and whether free
- 25:15Speaker 1: speech was under attack in America. How dare you, sir?
- 25:19Speaker 1: How dare you sir? Stuart yelled, what outfit are you with? Sir?
- 25:23Speaker 1: The Antifa Harold Tribune. When the audience, Booter expressed this
- 25:27Speaker 1: may Stewart, in a panic, tried to shush them. A
- 25:29Speaker 1: group of correspondents delivered a message in unison and showered
- 25:33Speaker 1: the president with over the top praise as though they
- 25:36Speaker 1: lived in a dictatorship. Naturally, these soon to be well gone.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Stephen Colbert did the same thing, saying, quote, tonight, we
- 25:44Speaker 1: are all Jimmy Kimmel. That's when he said the start
- 25:47Speaker 1: of his monologue before decrying the suspension is quote blatant censorship.
- 25:51Speaker 1: With an autocrat, you cannot give thee an inch, he said.
- 25:55Speaker 1: If ABC thinks this is going to satisfy the regime, again,
- 25:59Speaker 1: this is how you have people trying to kill the
- 26:01Speaker 1: president and people trying to kill Charlie Kirk because of
- 26:03Speaker 1: this type of rhetoric. When you have an autocrat, you
- 26:06Speaker 1: cannot give an inch. If ABC thinks this is going
- 26:09Speaker 1: to satisfy the regime. They are woefully naive and clearly
- 26:13Speaker 1: they've never read the children's book If you give a
- 26:16Speaker 1: Mouse a Kimmel and did Jimmy. Let me just say,
- 26:19Speaker 1: I stand with you and your staff one hundred percent.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Both of them, by the way, are lying with a
- 26:25Speaker 1: claim that the FCC had something to do with Kimmel's suspension,
- 26:29Speaker 1: when it was the affiliates who on the local stations
- 26:32Speaker 1: that said we're not airing the show anymore. And Kimmel's
- 26:37Speaker 1: ratings were in the basement in which he lives. When
- 26:40Speaker 1: Jimmy Kimmel said that Charlie Kirk's accused of sassion was MAGA,
- 26:44Speaker 1: that was a clear lie. It was a violation of
- 26:48Speaker 1: public interest right and the public interest clause in my opinion.
- 26:52Speaker 1: But again, that is not why they fired him. They
- 26:57Speaker 1: fired him because it was insensitive. They fired him because
- 27:00Speaker 1: his ratings were in the tank. They fired him because
- 27:03Speaker 1: the money was that the show was unsustainable financially. That
- 27:07Speaker 1: is what it boils down to. And anyone else saying
- 27:10Speaker 1: anything else on one side or the other outside of that,
- 27:13Speaker 1: you're just wrong. You're just wrong. And I go back
- 27:18Speaker 1: to what I played for you earlier with that x
- 27:20Speaker 1: Panier chief. She said it clearly, this is a business decision.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Outside of the settlement, there are other actions taken to
- 27:29Speaker 2: ensure there would be regulatory approval. I think about rollbacks
- 27:33Speaker 2: of DEI policies. I think about some things like the
- 27:37Speaker 2: cancelation of Steve Colbert's show. You know that was never
- 27:40Speaker 2: explicitly stated as being part of getting regulatory approval, but
- 27:44Speaker 2: it's something that I think a lot of people assumed.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Do you think that they made the right choices to
- 27:49Speaker 2: ensure that they got the regulatory approval.
- 27:51Speaker 3: I'm not going to tie any of that to regulatory approval.
- 27:55Speaker 3: I can tell you that we had been looking at
- 27:57Speaker 3: late Night. It was financially not viable. It had been
- 28:01Speaker 3: that way for a long time. We had made a
- 28:03Speaker 3: decision months prior to the announcement that we were not
- 28:06Speaker 3: going to be going forward to that show. I love Stephen,
- 28:08Speaker 3: he does a great job, but we really needed to
- 28:10Speaker 3: be in a financially viable business and you saw we
- 28:13Speaker 3: did that with James Corden as well. And in terms
- 28:15Speaker 3: of DEI, I think the reasons why DEI exists matter
- 28:20Speaker 3: and will always matter, and we need to continue to
- 28:22Speaker 3: fight for those issues, but I think the way in
- 28:25Speaker 3: which DEI has been executed has often led to more
- 28:28Speaker 3: problems than it solved. So any of the changes that
- 28:31Speaker 3: were made or continue to be made, but under us,
- 28:34Speaker 3: I think we were trying to create an environment that
- 28:36Speaker 3: would address the issues in a different way.
- 28:38Speaker 1: That is the narrative that they don't want you to know.
- 28:43Speaker 1: CNN Brian Skelter on the cancelation of Cobert the Late
- 28:46Speaker 1: Show another form of he said capitulation by CBS to Trump.
- 28:50Speaker 1: There's no indication that that is true. That's another lie
- 28:55Speaker 1: put out there by Brian Skelter on cancelation of Colbert.
- 28:58Speaker 1: And now they're doing the same exact lie, the same
- 29:04Speaker 1: exact lie when it comes to why Kimmel's gone. Kimmel's
- 29:09Speaker 1: gone because they were losing too much money, and Kimmel's
- 29:12Speaker 1: gone because the show sucked. Don't forget Share this podcast
