- 1:46Speaker 1: and how to live a balance life. My next guest
- 1:49Speaker 1: was a former track star. Okay, it's really important to
- 1:52Speaker 1: note she's an athlete because she's starting in a new
- 1:56Speaker 1: episode new series that she's very athletic, was discovered on
- 2:00Speaker 1: a on YouTube as a singer. Not that here here
- 2:03Speaker 1: was a former track star now, but was discovered on
- 2:06Speaker 1: YouTube as a singer. Now she's a model because she's
- 2:10Speaker 1: very attractive, a rioting actress in Hollywood because you know,
- 2:14Speaker 1: somebody patched her in. On the interview, she just called
- 2:16Speaker 1: me director. Somebody patched her in, So she's big timing.
- 2:20Speaker 1: You've seen her work on f on f X, Atlanta,
- 2:23Speaker 1: bt S, American Soul, the movie super Fly, and Fox
- 2:27Speaker 1: Musical Drama Star. She's on the show to talk about
- 2:30Speaker 1: her career huh, which I really love, talking about the
- 2:33Speaker 1: hashtag love and lightheart, love and Lightheart and soul scholarships,
- 2:37Speaker 1: the ups and downs of Hollywood, and her new sci
- 2:40Speaker 1: fi series which I am in love with, Vagrant Queen.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Please welcome to Money Making Conversation. Adrian Ray. Hello, Hello, Hi,
- 2:48Speaker 1: thank you for having me. First of all, thank you
- 2:50Speaker 1: for coming on the show. Adrian, I'm happy to be here. Now.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Where are you based there right now? And Angeles? Okay? Cool? Now?
- 3:00Speaker 1: The TV show? Mm hmm, I love it. Are your
- 3:05Speaker 1: character Elita is uh? First of all, I don't want
- 3:09Speaker 1: to drop the gun because you know, when you see
- 3:11Speaker 1: something you tend to overtalk the show a lot. Did
- 3:14Speaker 1: just tell me about your character Elita? Well, Elita is
- 3:20Speaker 1: a young queen. She was deemed queen at a very
- 3:24Speaker 1: young age queen and denial though right when you say that, No,
- 3:31Speaker 1: she's um. She's a young queen who at a young
- 3:35Speaker 1: age her monarchy was overthrown, and because it was overthrown,
- 3:40Speaker 1: she was you know, cast out, and she's been on
- 3:43Speaker 1: the run for all these years of her life. And
- 3:46Speaker 1: by the Republic's overthrowing her monarchy that she led to
- 3:50Speaker 1: the death of her mother and her father. So um,
- 3:53Speaker 1: she has resentment towards you know, the monarchy and and
- 3:58Speaker 1: the crown in general. Okay. So so that means that
- 4:02Speaker 1: you are a reluctant queen. Okay, cool knock. Now you
- 4:07Speaker 1: have two sidekicks on the show. You have all I
- 4:11Speaker 1: want to say. She's uh. First of all, Isaac. He's
- 4:13Speaker 1: a person who you um uh stole his ship and
- 4:18Speaker 1: he shot you. Okay. And then you have a maid
- 4:23Speaker 1: and a main character. Is interesting because we know she's gay.
- 4:27Speaker 1: But then it's always seems to be a moment that
- 4:30Speaker 1: there may be something else between you and her, but
- 4:34Speaker 1: somebody interrupts. It's kind of like a it does she
- 4:38Speaker 1: like a maid? Is she trying to flirt with a maid?
- 4:42Speaker 1: Because we know a maid which way she rolls? But
- 4:45Speaker 1: we don't know which way Alita rolls, and so the
- 4:48Speaker 1: first five episodes got your board, meaning Rashan McDonald going
- 4:52Speaker 1: over here, Mmm, is that potential romance between Alita and
- 4:57Speaker 1: a maid? Can you give me that to dot dot
- 4:59Speaker 1: dot or do I need to keep looking at the
- 5:02Speaker 1: various episodes to find out. Well, as you continue to watch,
- 5:07Speaker 1: it will become more clear. I mean, it's it's the
- 5:10Speaker 1: view that we've given to that. Um. In regards to
- 5:13Speaker 1: the show, we literally gave it the seeing view as
- 5:15Speaker 1: the character. So the audience see how this goes just
- 5:18Speaker 1: like the characters do. UM. But I would say to
- 5:23Speaker 1: you the key is to look at Alita in the
- 5:25Speaker 1: may when they're not looking at each other or they
- 5:27Speaker 1: don't like when amazed looking away, look at Alita and see,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'll be looking, I'm looking at I'm looking, I'm looking.
- 5:33Speaker 1: So definitely definitely a little a little, a little sexual
- 5:38Speaker 1: tension and things like that. Elina is a pan sexual. UM,
- 5:43Speaker 1: so yeah, there's definitely some sexual tension in some googly
- 5:47Speaker 1: hard eyes. And it's always that moment. Good writing, as
- 5:51Speaker 1: they say, good writing because and you're a very good actress,
- 5:54Speaker 1: by the way, I won't compliment you you know, when
- 5:56Speaker 1: you found out your mother was alive, you know, a
- 5:59Speaker 1: t are dropped immediately and I went and you know
- 6:02Speaker 1: it wasn't one of those you know, I'm gonna tell you. So,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I'm a type of person when I cry. You know,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I can't talk and cry at the same time. So
- 6:08Speaker 1: you know I do want to type crying and talking. Okay,
- 6:13Speaker 1: and so and so I'm looking at you just dropping
- 6:16Speaker 1: these tears and still maintaining vocal control. How do you
- 6:19Speaker 1: do that? Adrian Um actually worked with a vocal coach,
- 6:25Speaker 1: and you know that's skill, right, that's a skill you
- 6:30Speaker 1: have to learn, right, well, not necessarily, but it does
- 6:34Speaker 1: help to have diaphragm control, regardless of in your breast control.
- 6:37Speaker 1: It's all control of the breathing. So you're saying I'm
- 6:39Speaker 1: a loser, mis right, that's right there, Sam, a loser.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I can't because because I can't cry and maintain vocal control.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You know, I have these these these heavy breathing. You
- 6:51Speaker 1: just got it. You just gotta control that diaph so
- 6:54Speaker 1: tighten up the tightened up the gud. But see, I
- 6:58Speaker 1: have not. I was not a track star. I didn't
- 7:01Speaker 1: have that, you know, because one thing about a track star.
- 7:03Speaker 1: You had that diet fram right that that six pack,
- 7:06Speaker 1: when you turn that corner, the knees coming up near
- 7:08Speaker 1: that chest, you're gonna be right now, So don't you
- 7:11Speaker 1: do me on my own show. Now, this interview is
- 7:15Speaker 1: going bad for me right now. She's already told me
- 7:18Speaker 1: in other shape, I can't keep my breath. So let's
- 7:24Speaker 1: talk about this series now. First of all, you know, um,
- 7:28Speaker 1: when the when the opportunity came for me to interview you,
- 7:31Speaker 1: you know, you know, we were in the meeting and
- 7:33Speaker 1: I looked you up online and I just started. I
- 7:36Speaker 1: know her from Atlanta, and I knew from American soul,
- 7:39Speaker 1: and of course star. Now you are the star of
- 7:44Speaker 1: this series, vagrant queen. That is an enormous responsibility. Talk
- 7:50Speaker 1: walk us through the steps of auditioning and when you
- 7:53Speaker 1: first was realized when it told you you was going
- 7:56Speaker 1: to be the star to show and you've been cast
- 7:58Speaker 1: as the lead. Talk us about that, because this is
- 8:01Speaker 1: something I would commit. Tell them before you answer the response.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I just want to tell you something, honestly, when I
- 8:06Speaker 1: watch you, you're so talented. Secondly, I realized that there's
- 8:11Speaker 1: a high level of innocence in you that you're doing
- 8:14Speaker 1: what you love and and you're being blessed to deliver
- 8:18Speaker 1: it in this show. And the fact that you're doing
- 8:21Speaker 1: it at such a young age and on a show
- 8:24Speaker 1: that's high profile, a high budget, and a lot of sets.
- 8:29Speaker 1: It's really wonderful. Now you can respond, thank you. Um So,
- 8:35Speaker 1: I got the audition from a manager and he sent
- 8:39Speaker 1: over the side. I immediately tried to get into the
- 8:41Speaker 1: world of Vague and Queen. So I read the comic,
- 8:44Speaker 1: I read the side, and I read the pilot script,
- 8:46Speaker 1: which really all of it helps because the writer, Jim
- 8:50Speaker 1: um She's she's amazing and amazingly talented, and she really
- 8:54Speaker 1: did a great job but taking that comic book because
- 8:57Speaker 1: it's an adaptation, to taking that comic book world and
- 9:00Speaker 1: really turning it into a TV adaptation, and you could
- 9:03Speaker 1: really find the two worlds to be the same when
- 9:07Speaker 1: you go from the comic to the television series. So
- 9:12Speaker 1: I really found, you know, the comics to be very helpful.
- 9:15Speaker 1: So I went and built my character and instantly fell
- 9:18Speaker 1: in love with her, instantly resonated with her words. I
- 9:20Speaker 1: was off book as in, um My, the words that
- 9:23Speaker 1: they gave me to audition with were memorized very fast,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and um. From doing that, I did my audition. You know,
- 9:31Speaker 1: I just went out there and I had funds and
- 9:33Speaker 1: I did what I thought. You know, it was funny
- 9:35Speaker 1: and fun and you know what I wanted to do
- 9:38Speaker 1: when I wanted to bring to the character. And luckily
- 9:42Speaker 1: and amazingly well the whole career of team. They really
- 9:47Speaker 1: liked my audition. So they called me in for a
- 9:48Speaker 1: callback with some tweaks, and I sipped over another tape
- 9:52Speaker 1: because at this point our show, Lennard was in South
- 9:55Speaker 1: Africa and I located in Los Angeles, so he did
- 9:59Speaker 1: it yourself to too self tapes. And then I get
- 10:01Speaker 1: a phone call from my manager and he tells me.
- 10:05Speaker 1: He says, can I speak to Alida? And I just
- 10:08Speaker 1: start freaking out. I'm in Rows. I gotta get out there.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I gotta get out the store, like the grocery store
- 10:13Speaker 1: in Los Angeles. But they're just be staying like Ralphs everywhere.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Raps aren't everywhere. Ralphs is a big It's like crowbars
- 10:18Speaker 1: or publics. It's based in Los Angeles. Five. I've really
- 10:21Speaker 1: lost fifty. It's really big. Okay, continue, I'm in the
- 10:28Speaker 1: grocery store and I get out and I have to
- 10:31Speaker 1: you know, have my whole moment and then tell me
- 10:34Speaker 1: that I book it, and you know that that feeling
- 10:37Speaker 1: was just amazing. And none of it actually hit me
- 10:39Speaker 1: that I was the lead in a woman of color
- 10:43Speaker 1: lead in the sci fi series l g pt Q
- 10:45Speaker 1: plus representation. None of that really hit me in the moment.
- 10:49Speaker 1: All of it was just like home, man, I booked
- 10:52Speaker 1: a show, and that's just like where I was living
- 10:56Speaker 1: in the moment. And as I got you know, to
- 10:58Speaker 1: South Africa, as I got started in it's costum it
- 11:00Speaker 1: all started like unraveling and like, oh I am I
- 11:04Speaker 1: am the actual lead. I am the vagrant queen. I
- 11:07Speaker 1: am a woman of color leading a sci fi series.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And you know, but as much as it could seem,
- 11:13Speaker 1: you know, scary to someone, um, it wasn't. It wasn't
- 11:17Speaker 1: terrifying or scary to me because I didn't see it
- 11:19Speaker 1: as like something that could possibly turn negative at all.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So because of the way I embraced it, it really
- 11:25Speaker 1: allowed me to, um just live in that space and
- 11:30Speaker 1: embrace it and flourish within it. And I'm just super
- 11:34Speaker 1: grateful and humble to be able to play such an
- 11:36Speaker 1: impactful role, a powerful role that has so much representation
- 11:39Speaker 1: on so many different levels. You know, you we're living
- 11:42Speaker 1: in the era of the Black Panther. Okay, well we
- 11:45Speaker 1: know that. You know, when you're given an opportunity, you
- 11:48Speaker 1: have to shine because you know, we never know because everybody,
- 11:51Speaker 1: you know, if a failure that at that high profile
- 11:53Speaker 1: level can deter other opportunities at their level. And so
- 11:58Speaker 1: Black Panther delivered over the of her and uh and
- 12:01Speaker 1: also open doors. I'd like to believe for opportunities like this.
- 12:04Speaker 1: And when I see what you're doing. You know, I
- 12:06Speaker 1: saw the first episode and it's like, if you're a
- 12:10Speaker 1: fan of Guardian of the Galaxy, this is a tone
- 12:14Speaker 1: the character type tone because she's an anti hero. She
- 12:19Speaker 1: she she's a reluctant hero and uh. And as each
- 12:22Speaker 1: episode goes along, she starts gathering her her band, her group,
- 12:26Speaker 1: her her teammates, her sidekicks, you know. And Isaac is
- 12:30Speaker 1: a reluctant sidekick who is from Earth but watched serious
- 12:34Speaker 1: who you can get his backstory. And then a May
- 12:36Speaker 1: she picked him up, she picked her, picked her up.
- 12:39Speaker 1: And a May is kind of like she's along for
- 12:41Speaker 1: the ride, you know, she's been supposed to be a
- 12:43Speaker 1: person that was supposed to be just dropped off. But hey,
- 12:45Speaker 1: she she she sees some opportunities just to be creative.
- 12:49Speaker 1: She's a she's a geek, She's a She's a guru
- 12:52Speaker 1: in the in the mechanic room. She is the uh.
- 12:56Speaker 1: She is the Scotty Scotty. We need more power. We
- 12:59Speaker 1: need more power of Star Trek correct the glue that
- 13:05Speaker 1: hold us together, for sure, but more importantly, you to
- 13:08Speaker 1: glue we come back. I want to talk about, you know,
- 13:11Speaker 1: the some how you got started as a YouTube singer.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I want to talk about the training. I want to
- 13:16Speaker 1: talk about the sets. I want to talk about your

- 15:28Speaker 1: E R dot Ai. Hi, this is Rushan McDonald. You're
- 15:32Speaker 1: listening to money making conversations on the phone. Is very talented.
- 15:36Speaker 1: You know, she heard about her good news about the
- 15:37Speaker 1: vagrant queen and Ralt's grocery store. Whoa, she threw the
- 15:41Speaker 1: She threw the banalas and the legs into Demato's up
- 15:44Speaker 1: an ass. She ran out and started uh krip walking
- 15:47Speaker 1: in the parking lot. She was so happy. She's just
- 15:49Speaker 1: doing her things. But right now when she's doing on
- 15:52Speaker 1: this show is telling us about her new series, which
- 15:54Speaker 1: is on sci Fi on Thursday nights at eleven Eastern
- 15:57Speaker 1: that's when I watch it every Thursday night. I've seen
- 15:59Speaker 1: the first five episodes of Vagrant Queen and the fifth episode.
- 16:06Speaker 1: You know, each episode gets better. The fifth episode may
- 16:09Speaker 1: be mad because it really you know, what's what's what's
- 16:12Speaker 1: the villain's name? Last us? What's the villains? The villain's
- 16:15Speaker 1: name Lazaro, Lazaro. You know he is an evil, evil guy. Now,
- 16:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something. This series is. You know,
- 16:25Speaker 1: they beat up people. There's some blood in the series now,
- 16:28Speaker 1: and there's some campiness which which should be called humor.
- 16:33Speaker 1: And there is uh teamwork. There's a lot of backstabbing,
- 16:36Speaker 1: there's a lot of lying, there's a lot of I
- 16:39Speaker 1: thought you said this, I thought you was This is
- 16:41Speaker 1: a lot of unforeseen directions for the characters. And you
- 16:45Speaker 1: think you're going into the direction their lives that are lost,
- 16:48Speaker 1: their lives that are lost, that more lives that are lost,
- 16:51Speaker 1: and then it windlers are all down to where you're
- 16:54Speaker 1: at right now. You're you're out the episodes five, I'm believing,
- 17:00Speaker 1: and you're ready to save the galaxy? Correct? I can't
- 17:05Speaker 1: speak on that. Oh my goodness, I sent you off, Adrian,
- 17:09Speaker 1: and you're just gonna leave me hanging out there. I
- 17:12Speaker 1: don't think I'm telling the series. I think I'm just
- 17:15Speaker 1: happen to five now, episode five, I would think that's
- 17:18Speaker 1: the attitude you're gonna have moving forward. Crazy man, he
- 17:22Speaker 1: got the the ORB that you you didn't have time
- 17:25Speaker 1: to get the information on how to use it. And
- 17:27Speaker 1: then I was saying he knew how to use it.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Now he has ultimate power. I don't even know how
- 17:32Speaker 1: you're gonna tackle him, because even though you are blood,
- 17:36Speaker 1: you have the blood of the of the Kingdom, of
- 17:38Speaker 1: the Queen or the king or whatever, you still on
- 17:42Speaker 1: have the orb. He has it now. So now episode six,
- 17:45Speaker 1: which I have to watch this Thursday night at eleven
- 17:47Speaker 1: o'clock on Sci Fi Channel, I'm just I'm talking to
- 17:49Speaker 1: Adrian Rage. She should starve frakon Queen a great, great series.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Or people reacting to you like I'm reacting to you. Um,
- 18:01Speaker 1: everyone reacts differently. Oh am I reacting? You know, I
- 18:06Speaker 1: don't want to be like a little a little fan.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm talking about, am I am? I? Okay? Cool?
- 18:13Speaker 1: Thank you, because you have a great series. Now, before
- 18:17Speaker 1: we got to the great series already, nor Bio, you
- 18:21Speaker 1: were discovered on YouTube as a singer. How does that happen? Uh,
- 18:27Speaker 1: divine intervention, I suppose because I had like no YouTube
- 18:31Speaker 1: subscribers or anything like that. I just suse house cooking
- 18:38Speaker 1: on Instagram. No one followed, and uh, they went to
- 18:42Speaker 1: the YouTube and checked out the song, and then they
- 18:45Speaker 1: actually worked at um they worked at Radar, which is
- 18:50Speaker 1: a subdivision of Epic Records, and they showed their boss
- 18:54Speaker 1: and their bosses like Burner and let's let's have her
- 18:56Speaker 1: sing for us and let's talk to her, and uh,
- 18:59Speaker 1: yeah we were And it's from there. But that's that's
- 19:01Speaker 1: literally how I started getting into the entertainment industry. And
- 19:04Speaker 1: from there, you know, I I being w some sets
- 19:07Speaker 1: and things like that. I found out about acting, and
- 19:10Speaker 1: because I was in Atlanta, you know, that's black Hollywood.
- 19:13Speaker 1: And I remember being on a video set and doing acting,
- 19:18Speaker 1: like as like like lead acting, and they were like
- 19:21Speaker 1: pretty good at this, and I was like, I don't
- 19:23Speaker 1: know what I'm doing, and they're like, you know, you
- 19:24Speaker 1: should really try because you're in Atlanta and should at
- 19:27Speaker 1: least just you know, give it a try sense you're here.
- 19:30Speaker 1: So I was like okay, and then I found my
- 19:32Speaker 1: mentor Carl Payne, who yeah, and he took me under
- 19:39Speaker 1: his wing and just taught me so so so very
- 19:41Speaker 1: much and not forever grade of the Carl and uh
- 19:43Speaker 1: he started me with you know, Stanislavsky, Sella Adler and
- 19:46Speaker 1: those those techniques. So the first thing Carl did with
- 19:49Speaker 1: me was trained. I know often people when they turn
- 19:52Speaker 1: and they say, I want to be an actor, And
- 19:54Speaker 1: that's that's fine if that's your passion. It's a beautiful
- 19:56Speaker 1: thing that you found that. But the first thing is
- 19:59Speaker 1: not needed to I need to get head shots and
- 20:01Speaker 1: find the act, find the agent and go book a role.
- 20:03Speaker 1: The first thing you need to do is train because
- 20:06Speaker 1: um as I h as I read in a beautiful
- 20:10Speaker 1: interview by Brittany who is one of the stars of Boomerang.
- 20:14Speaker 1: She said, it is it is your talent. It's like
- 20:19Speaker 1: an agent will get you in the room, yes, but
- 20:21Speaker 1: your talent will keep you in the room. Your talent
- 20:25Speaker 1: will get you booked. So that's that's the important thing
- 20:28Speaker 1: that you really need to call today. Well, let's go
- 20:32Speaker 1: back to the show now, bounce back and forth because
- 20:36Speaker 1: a different points I went back. Now the sets, now,
- 20:39Speaker 1: this is one that has impressed me about the show,
- 20:41Speaker 1: because when you do a show like this, you know,
- 20:43Speaker 1: one of the things that can destroy a show is
- 20:45Speaker 1: to set uh, which was tied towards the acting, the
- 20:50Speaker 1: the I guess, the fight sequences, the special effects, and
- 20:55Speaker 1: your show does a phenomenal job. Talk about the sets
- 20:59Speaker 1: that and where you guys are shooting the show. Well,
- 21:03Speaker 1: the steps are absolutely phenomenal, like you said, and we
- 21:05Speaker 1: shoot in kick Out, South Africa, which offers just a
- 21:09Speaker 1: huge variety of terrain to work with. I mean from
- 21:12Speaker 1: episode five you see the dunes in Atlantis and then
- 21:15Speaker 1: all the way to the beautiful mountains that you see
- 21:17Speaker 1: in episode three where I go meet Clive, all of
- 21:20Speaker 1: these are actual mountains and dunes. They're not c g ied.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I mean the most c g I is like extra
- 21:25Speaker 1: moons added into the sky. So um, you know it
- 21:29Speaker 1: looks of another galaxy, not yours. But yeah, we uh
- 21:36Speaker 1: we we for sure, no, we for sure had a
- 21:39Speaker 1: lot of fun filming in all these different places, and
- 21:42Speaker 1: it was just beautiful that one place in the Motherland
- 21:45Speaker 1: had so much to offer regarding not just the scenes
- 21:50Speaker 1: and the sets, but also the talent. There's a lot
- 21:53Speaker 1: of South African actors who are a part of our
- 21:56Speaker 1: casting crew, are part of our castin. Yeah, and it
- 21:59Speaker 1: was just it was just a beautiful, beautiful thing to experience. Well,
- 22:03Speaker 1: you know, I'll be remiss if I don't talk about
- 22:06Speaker 1: the makeup because the makeups phenomenal. The makeup design and
- 22:10Speaker 1: all that is crafted very well. And that's what that's
- 22:13Speaker 1: what excites me about this show. First, I'm a sci
- 22:15Speaker 1: fi person and you're watching sci fi. But but to
- 22:19Speaker 1: support you as a lead on an incredibly well produced,
- 22:23Speaker 1: crafted series is important because of the fact that you're good.
- 22:27Speaker 1: You're really, really good at what you do. Now, there's
- 22:30Speaker 1: a lot of physical fight scenes, there's a lot of running,
- 22:34Speaker 1: there's a lot of jumping. Talk to us about that
- 22:36Speaker 1: training process. Well, luckily, like you say, stated, I've been
- 22:41Speaker 1: an athlete all of my life. Um, I've been playing
- 22:43Speaker 1: to hockey since I was five, running track, basketball, all
- 22:47Speaker 1: these things. So I was able to have you know,
- 22:49Speaker 1: that coordination, center of gravity, all of those things naturally
- 22:52Speaker 1: within my being. But I had an amazing stunt like crew,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and you know, they trained me. I had a personal
- 23:00Speaker 1: trainer as well, who training with boxing and kinesthetic and
- 23:03Speaker 1: dynamic training. The kickboxing and you know, as actors, it
- 23:08Speaker 1: is our job to make sure that we stay in shape.
- 23:10Speaker 1: But I didn't know I was going to get an
- 23:11Speaker 1: action hero role. So you know, my my training had
- 23:15Speaker 1: to shift from just going to the gym with dowing
- 23:17Speaker 1: cardio to actually like punching and kicking and working out
- 23:20Speaker 1: in a different way, more athletic building a way. So, um,
- 23:25Speaker 1: that's what my training consisted of. Uh. We shot six
- 23:27Speaker 1: days a week. I trained three the five times a week,
- 23:32Speaker 1: and I had one day to myself everyday every week. Now,
- 23:37Speaker 1: with that being said, did you get any bruises or
- 23:41Speaker 1: did you get thrown off on any of the Uh?
- 23:44Speaker 1: Any the acting the physical scenes are are because I'm watching,
- 23:47Speaker 1: I'm trying to it's that her fighting is that? How
- 23:49Speaker 1: making that kick? Is that making? How make that throw?
- 23:51Speaker 1: Is she being thrown around? How did that work out
- 23:54Speaker 1: for you physically? In all the action scenes? Um, I
- 23:58Speaker 1: actually did ninety percent of my stunt. Okay, come on,
- 24:04Speaker 1: my girl, So I did not need percent of my stunts,
- 24:08Speaker 1: and I did injure myself. You know, there's there's small
- 24:12Speaker 1: little injuries like cuts or things like that that happened.
- 24:15Speaker 1: But I've never I've never really like genuinely hurt myself,
- 24:19Speaker 1: like badly. I did, you know, some bumps and bruises,
- 24:24Speaker 1: but all of which I'm just I didn't even tell
- 24:26Speaker 1: anybody about it because I wanted to continue to do
- 24:28Speaker 1: my stunt. I was like, no, I'm fine, just just
- 24:31Speaker 1: just manned up there. Hey, don't worry about I'm good.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. Yeah, I'm good. Well, well,
- 24:36Speaker 1: I'll just let you know that this is I'm just
- 24:39Speaker 1: having fun talking to you because you know, I'm talking
- 24:42Speaker 1: to the start of the series and you're answering inside questions,
- 24:47Speaker 1: except you know what's going to happen after episode five.
- 24:51Speaker 1: You know that's the only thing you see. You're not
- 24:53Speaker 1: gonna which up. Cool. I respect that of it. We're
- 24:55Speaker 1: gonna get a relationship going here. You know, ventual on
- 24:57Speaker 1: future interviews. You know you're gonna let me in a
- 24:59Speaker 1: little bit more secret. Let's talk about your scholarships. You know,
- 25:02Speaker 1: the shift here because this is the side of you
- 25:05Speaker 1: that I always like to talk with with by especially
- 25:07Speaker 1: people in entertainment. I call it a balance life, you know,
- 25:10Speaker 1: being able to you know you're focused on your career,
- 25:13Speaker 1: but what are you doing for the community. What what what? What?
- 25:16Speaker 1: What keeps your mind active when you're not acting or entertaining.
- 25:20Speaker 1: It's called the hashtag love and light, heart and soul
- 25:23Speaker 1: scholarship tell us about that. Yeah, so this scholarship, I
- 25:28Speaker 1: must say, is so so so close to my heart. Um.
- 25:32Speaker 1: As I previously stated, I am a certified laboratory scientists
- 25:36Speaker 1: and I went to school and studied tradition assistant studies
- 25:39Speaker 1: as well. So I have degrees, and I know what
- 25:41Speaker 1: it's like to be a first generation college student. I
- 25:44Speaker 1: know what it's like to go to college and your
- 25:47Speaker 1: parents are like, that's amazing. I don't we don't know
- 25:49Speaker 1: how we can pay for that, but that's amazing that
- 25:51Speaker 1: you got in and you just try to figure out
- 25:53Speaker 1: a way to make this work. I remember that anxiety
- 25:56Speaker 1: that I had. I remember the stress that I had
- 25:58Speaker 1: every Sylvester in the midst of finals, because that's when
- 26:01Speaker 1: it's all winding down, worrying about if I'm going to
- 26:04Speaker 1: have enough money to live on campus, if I'm gonna
- 26:07Speaker 1: have enough money for books, cannot even pay my scholars
- 26:09Speaker 1: to my tubition, will be able to come back. That's
- 26:12Speaker 1: just the fear. I genuinely I didn't like it at all,
- 26:16Speaker 1: And as someone who has been blessed to be able
- 26:20Speaker 1: to live in my passion and have the financial stability
- 26:24Speaker 1: to give back, I feel like it's my duty to
- 26:26Speaker 1: actually help students. They don't have to go through these things,
- 26:30Speaker 1: and if I can do something about it, I'm going
- 26:32Speaker 1: to help. So the Love and Life Media, Heart and
- 26:35Speaker 1: Soul Scholarship is my way of getting back to the
- 26:38Speaker 1: community in that way. So the Heart Scholarship is for
- 26:42Speaker 1: the heart of our country, and it is for students
- 26:44Speaker 1: who are interested in things in the medical field, whether
- 26:47Speaker 1: that's nursing, p a OT, occupation of therapy, um as
- 26:52Speaker 1: a doctor, as a nurse practitioner, all of those things.
- 26:56Speaker 1: And it's for people who you know, come from I
- 27:00Speaker 1: the privileged areas. You have to have a certain criteria
- 27:02Speaker 1: for you t p A. And then you had the
- 27:05Speaker 1: Soul Scholarship, which I believes for the soul of our nation.
- 27:08Speaker 1: It's just the art, the art speed your soul. So
- 27:12Speaker 1: for those are those people who want to go into
- 27:15Speaker 1: you know, cinematography, directing, they want to go into school
- 27:18Speaker 1: for theater, that's a scholarship that's available for them, and
- 27:23Speaker 1: we're working very hard to get that off the ground.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Amiss this COVID nineteen pandemic, but we're really working on
- 27:30Speaker 1: it to get it off the ground. My friend, I
- 27:34Speaker 1: want to thank you for coming on my show. She's
