- 2:28Speaker 1: for doing good? How are you today? I'm really doing good?
- 2:31Speaker 1: And you know the thing about reality shows, you know,
- 2:35Speaker 1: first of all, I'm gonna ask you and you can
- 2:37Speaker 1: ask you can ask it together separately. Why are you
- 2:39Speaker 1: guys doing this show? Um? Hey, well, hey, what's going on? Man?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Thanks for having us knowing this to mar so um,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I think when we first we're we're a business people.
- 2:53Speaker 1: We have a passion for business. Absolutely. We also have
- 2:56Speaker 1: a passion for the development of uh mey of the
- 2:59Speaker 1: African Aerican neighborhood that seems to get gotten passed over
- 3:02Speaker 1: by the economic booms that happened in cities oftentimes. Know,
- 3:06Speaker 1: we were a goodness opportunity uh to go on and
- 3:10Speaker 1: really to discuss real people, to discuss real issues, but
- 3:13Speaker 1: more importantly for us to discuss business and how we
- 3:17Speaker 1: can all get together. Come back, come, come, back together
- 3:21Speaker 1: and kind of make a a platform for other middle
- 3:25Speaker 1: class and upper upper uh class, you know, African Americans
- 3:31Speaker 1: to kind of we migrate back to the hood and
- 3:34Speaker 1: kind of you know, tolding the store that kind of
- 3:36Speaker 1: raised us and and hopefully we can build it and
- 3:38Speaker 1: empower So we were on a TV show, but you know,
- 3:41Speaker 1: we really want to show focus on that aspect of
- 3:43Speaker 1: business and construction and the uh togetherness and an empowerment. Yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 1: Corlus King, that's a that's the creative producer to show.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I know him. That's a good friend of mine. And
- 3:52Speaker 1: so when I'm watching this show. That the reason I
- 3:56Speaker 1: asked because maybe it's just edited, but it seems like
- 3:59Speaker 1: a lot of times some of the things that they've
- 4:01Speaker 1: showed kind of caught you guys off guard and you
- 4:04Speaker 1: didn't know it's going in that direction. Laticia, can you
- 4:06Speaker 1: respond to that, because I just really getting a sense of,
- 4:09Speaker 1: you know, why are you doing the show? I love
- 4:12Speaker 1: the characters. I love your mama by the way. I
- 4:14Speaker 1: love your mom with death. I know you know, I
- 4:18Speaker 1: know small so frat Bequiequie, I love her. I love
- 4:22Speaker 1: her mom. All right, So you just stop tripping dog.
- 4:24Speaker 1: You need to stop tripping la George. Okay, okay, So
- 4:31Speaker 1: for me it was like you know the reality TV
- 4:33Speaker 1: where being a closed on the show. Know for me,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you know, I never really thought about being on the
- 4:39Speaker 1: reality TV right. But when we was approached to the
- 4:43Speaker 1: show about the time Back group and about real estate development,
- 4:46Speaker 1: was like, okay, yes we could do that. We can
- 4:48Speaker 1: real estate, so why not do on this show. There'll
- 4:50Speaker 1: be grateful what we're trying to do within the community. Um.
- 4:55Speaker 1: So yeah, that's how it came apart in a court
- 4:58Speaker 1: to my mom, she is the and she was She's
- 5:01Speaker 1: gonna say he was just ready right right now. What
- 5:06Speaker 1: I never me was was it was the mom part
- 5:08Speaker 1: of the planning for the series or just happening to
- 5:12Speaker 1: be developed as a series went along, your mom moving
- 5:14Speaker 1: into the house, visiting. It just happened. It just happened
- 5:18Speaker 1: to be developed. So on the show, you see me
- 5:20Speaker 1: in my transition stage for me to stay at home
- 5:22Speaker 1: mom to get it into the commercial rule estate dough.
- 5:27Speaker 1: According to mom, so y'all had a plan though, you
- 5:29Speaker 1: you just the five year planned though, the five year
- 5:33Speaker 1: planned right more so? Right, I don't know how many
- 5:37Speaker 1: years you plan in but it's all a yes. Five,
- 5:41Speaker 1: she come rolling up there a little bit shorter than five.
- 5:44Speaker 1: That threw you off, didn't Mars? And there you are brother,
- 5:47Speaker 1: well not to be computer? Three? Yes, yes, yes, yes,
- 5:52Speaker 1: And she came in there and she came in there.
- 5:53Speaker 1: And I'm not trying to beat up man. So but
- 5:55Speaker 1: you know five and three is different though, you know,
- 5:57Speaker 1: you see I learned about you. You're a man, you know,
- 6:00Speaker 1: you're You're a guy who don't write things down in
- 6:02Speaker 1: pencil with the racing. You write stuff out with real quick, right,
- 6:09Speaker 1: But yep, that's me. I, Like I said, I like
- 6:11Speaker 1: to make decisions quick and I'm resolutely when I make them.
- 6:14Speaker 1: So so the the T shirt. So so why did you?
- 6:19Speaker 1: Why did you? Why did you change the plan? Though? Well,
- 6:24Speaker 1: because I am a woman and I see my husband's
- 6:27Speaker 1: vision and I know the vision for our company and
- 6:30Speaker 1: I grow and so when my husband got into the
- 6:32Speaker 1: general contract can feel and commercial real, okay, I was like,
- 6:36Speaker 1: it would be it will go hand in hand for
- 6:38Speaker 1: us to do this, you know together. So as I
- 6:41Speaker 1: was learning more about commercial development, you know the program
- 6:45Speaker 1: that I'm I'm working on my second masters right now,
- 6:48Speaker 1: and it's an ATMs program. So I'm like, I could
- 6:53Speaker 1: go ahead, get into this program, and then by the
- 6:56Speaker 1: end of the five year plan, I have my degree
- 6:59Speaker 1: and hit the ground running. Well you did hit the
- 7:03Speaker 1: ground running now and in the series it kind of
- 7:07Speaker 1: caught you off guard, and I'm gonna just tell you
- 7:09Speaker 1: this there real, I gotta be real. When when you
- 7:12Speaker 1: said that, I think you said something like, uh, just
- 7:16Speaker 1: just just you allowing her to do this just to
- 7:18Speaker 1: be happy. That didn't come across really good on TV,
- 7:23Speaker 1: and then it didn't. It made you. It made you
- 7:26Speaker 1: look bad though Massault. You know what I'm saying. It
- 7:30Speaker 1: made you look like you show this, It made you
- 7:32Speaker 1: look souvinistic. And then it really took me back because wow,
- 7:35Speaker 1: he said that, Because because because because your wife, she's beautiful,
- 7:40Speaker 1: you know, she's honest, she's loving, and and it looked
- 7:43Speaker 1: like her. So that's what I'm saying is that when
- 7:45Speaker 1: you do these shows, you know, because you're you're you're
- 7:50Speaker 1: you're on this couple, you have an open communication and
- 7:52Speaker 1: sometimes you might joke around and make a statement, but
- 7:56Speaker 1: then they let's get captured on film that becomes part
- 7:58Speaker 1: of the storyline. Did that moment, how did that moment
- 8:02Speaker 1: play back to you guys when it aired, and did
- 8:04Speaker 1: you have to deal with any issues within the household
- 8:07Speaker 1: when it aired? Um, I can't say right now that
- 8:14Speaker 1: that was not my best moment one of all the
- 8:16Speaker 1: time of things that, uh, you know, I I mean,
- 8:21Speaker 1: I don't. I don't regret I think that much of
- 8:24Speaker 1: my life because it's a great learning experience. But yeah,
- 8:27Speaker 1: I would, I would, I wouldn't do it again. And
- 8:29Speaker 1: I've learned that that mistake, Um. And the truth of
- 8:33Speaker 1: the matter is, I mean, I hate to say it,
- 8:35Speaker 1: but yeah, I mean, it's it's just it was just
- 8:39Speaker 1: a mistake on my part with that, with that, and
- 8:42Speaker 1: I apologize to that. And I think that a challenge
- 8:45Speaker 1: with us because we're I know, everyone says they're authentic,
- 8:48Speaker 1: but the challenge with us because we're authentic and you
- 8:51Speaker 1: are authentic. Yeah, yeah, and we don't. We didn't what
- 8:56Speaker 1: blind signed it us and what blind sided me particularly,
- 8:59Speaker 1: I don't care about people talking about me, but what
- 9:02Speaker 1: blind sided about me is how my jokes made my
- 9:07Speaker 1: wife look. Yeah, and that's not something I mean. As
- 9:09Speaker 1: as much of a provider as I am, I'm also
- 9:12Speaker 1: a protector and I don't want to. Even if I
- 9:14Speaker 1: come around as being a jerk, I don't care, but
- 9:17Speaker 1: I don't want it to make it look like that
- 9:18Speaker 1: she's weak because she's not. I wouldn't even I'm not
- 9:21Speaker 1: the kind of guy that needs to marry a weak
- 9:23Speaker 1: person the same strong the teacher is not weak. Okay,
- 9:26Speaker 1: but I knew you were joking. I knew you were joking.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I know that I do television all my life. You know,
- 9:30Speaker 1: the last nineteen n nineteen names two, I've been doing
- 9:33Speaker 1: television and no, no, no, how you can edit things
- 9:35Speaker 1: the teacher. You will respond to that because I know
- 9:38Speaker 1: that wasn't the case, and it came across like he
- 9:40Speaker 1: was a controlling he didn't care about your future. And
- 9:43Speaker 1: then it didn't even introduce your worried about your vision.
- 9:47Speaker 1: How did that affect you when it aired? Yeah, it
- 9:51Speaker 1: was because I know Martha personality. I knew it was joke,
- 9:56Speaker 1: and I with him, Hey, I know you're joking. Most
- 9:59Speaker 1: of some time I'm laughing at all, but people looking
- 10:02Speaker 1: on them from the outside looking and I'm like, oh
- 10:04Speaker 1: my god, I can't believe you say that. Oh my god.
- 10:07Speaker 1: So and then like and she's not people gonna say
- 10:09Speaker 1: anything that's him. And that's why people love my mom
- 10:11Speaker 1: so much because my mom was like, well I handled it,
- 10:14Speaker 1: but I'm like, I know my husband and I know
- 10:16Speaker 1: it was a joke. And also the whole me going
- 10:19Speaker 1: back to school to me um getting my real state degree,
- 10:22Speaker 1: that was something that we discussed part to even feel
- 10:26Speaker 1: it before the show came up that together in the
- 10:29Speaker 1: part of the plan. So when he said play your
- 10:32Speaker 1: role baby, all right, what you know he said, you're
- 10:35Speaker 1: doing it for fun, I was like, you know what myself, okay, whatever,
- 10:38Speaker 1: And I walked away from that because I was like, whatever, dude,
- 10:43Speaker 1: you show did When you said that, I went, oh, no, no,
- 10:46Speaker 1: you didn't. This is on film, but you can't. You
- 10:49Speaker 1: can't pull this some back. Brother, You can't pull us
- 10:51Speaker 1: some back. But but that that's but that's the whole
- 10:54Speaker 1: part of this whole process with with we're knowing that
- 10:56Speaker 1: that can air like that, and then that later on
- 10:59Speaker 1: went uh when I think my tale accused you of
- 11:02Speaker 1: having twenty women, which I thought was terrible, which I
- 11:05Speaker 1: thought was horrible, just to throw something out there and
- 11:07Speaker 1: then then your mother in law bring it back later on,
- 11:10Speaker 1: That's not why you guys did this show. But what
- 11:13Speaker 1: are the what are the benefits of doing this type
- 11:15Speaker 1: of show so far? Well, that's not one of them.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I can I can say that right now. Um, you
- 11:23Speaker 1: know I. UM, that's I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you
- 11:28Speaker 1: a dealing story. We I'm doing a business deal with
- 11:32Speaker 1: a gentleman and and I was doing in the midst
- 11:36Speaker 1: of speaking with one of the owners. They uh, I'm
- 11:40Speaker 1: sitting there talking. He said, hey, let me tell you something,
- 11:43Speaker 1: and he pulls out the telephone and he shows where
- 11:45Speaker 1: he was inquired about our company. And that person said, well,
- 11:50Speaker 1: I don't know them, great, but I just did some
- 11:52Speaker 1: research and this is what I found. And the person
- 11:54Speaker 1: sent that to the person I'm doing business with. And
- 11:56Speaker 1: the first thing he said is Marcel's got infidelity. And
- 12:00Speaker 1: I can tell you right now, if I'm sitting in
- 12:02Speaker 1: his chair and I'm looking to do business with someone,
- 12:05Speaker 1: I don't want uh, integrity related issues to be the
- 12:10Speaker 1: primary focus. That can I trust this guy, you know?
- 12:12Speaker 1: And so that right there was definitely unexpected. Now we
- 12:17Speaker 1: ended up winning. He said, listen, I'm more concerned with
- 12:19Speaker 1: you as a person, not necessarily you as the actor.
- 12:22Speaker 1: But I want to make sure that when Marcelo's got
- 12:25Speaker 1: when the name Marslof Scott is written, you know, and Pen,
- 12:28Speaker 1: you know, when I'm no longer here, that what I've
- 12:31Speaker 1: done and who I am actually get designed through. And
- 12:34Speaker 1: so that was definitely a blind side for me and
- 12:37Speaker 1: he to be very clear, that was not that. That's
- 12:40Speaker 1: not the reason why we got on it and along
- 12:43Speaker 1: that same path, that's not something I couldn't. I couldn't
- 12:46Speaker 1: continue along that because that's not even reality. That's just
- 12:48Speaker 1: mess right now. That's not fair, that's not fair, you know.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And and then but that's why my opening question was
- 12:54Speaker 1: why are you guys doing this show? Because I saw
- 12:56Speaker 1: an authentic couple. I saw a loving couple. I saw
- 12:59Speaker 1: a strong black woman. I saw a strong black man.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I remember o Maga Side five Fraternity, So I know
- 13:04Speaker 1: you're strong, you get up so with that along, okay,
- 13:07Speaker 1: But when you when you get tossed into these storylines
- 13:10Speaker 1: and these editors sit in the room, they can shape
- 13:12Speaker 1: stories to go not the direction that you wanted to go.
- 13:15Speaker 1: But the beauty of this series with you two is
- 13:19Speaker 1: I love the way I'm seeing you coming out of
- 13:21Speaker 1: this cocoon. The teacher and I think that's important because
- 13:27Speaker 1: the fastest growing entrepreneurs in America are black females, and
- 13:33Speaker 1: so you are playing such a tremendous role and showing
- 13:37Speaker 1: that it's possible. Even in the Huntsville, Alabama there are opportunities.
- 13:42Speaker 1: So do you understand that you You may know this already,
- 13:45Speaker 1: I don't understand anything crazy, But do you understand that
- 13:48Speaker 1: you are a role mardel, how powerful you are presenting
- 13:50Speaker 1: yourself to to to African American women. You know, I
- 13:57Speaker 1: didn't look at it that way, and wow, none did
- 14:01Speaker 1: you say that there's there's definitely something to consider going forward. Um,
- 14:06Speaker 1: but it's just I just want to show that yes,
- 14:09Speaker 1: you can have a power for marriage and also run
- 14:12Speaker 1: a successful business while raising amazing kids. That is my
- 14:16Speaker 1: overall goal. I don't want to be a successful businesswoman
- 14:21Speaker 1: but lose my husband, you know, in the process. So
- 14:25Speaker 1: that's example I want to put out there. I know
- 14:28Speaker 1: there's so many ladies now they want to be, you know,
- 14:30Speaker 1: a box on box. I'm seeing I'm running things and
- 14:33Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, it's okay. So let your man really
- 14:35Speaker 1: be the lead in the head in your family and
- 14:38Speaker 1: you have your role as a wife in his helpmate.
- 14:42Speaker 1: My visions for all of this was when I pray
- 14:44Speaker 1: about you know where I'm going and where I'm heading
- 14:47Speaker 1: in life, God is putting on my heart. Then listen,
- 14:51Speaker 1: your husband, you're gonna help him along the path. You
- 14:54Speaker 1: know you're gonna be there to support him and help
- 14:56Speaker 1: him along this way. You also, you're gonna have your
- 14:59Speaker 1: wrong you're gonn of your thing. But my husband is
- 15:03Speaker 1: my leader and I you know, I follow Beha, I
- 15:05Speaker 1: follow under him and he has lent me to such
- 15:08Speaker 1: a great successful life so far. So as long as
- 15:11Speaker 1: you have that leader, the one that you want to leave,
- 15:14Speaker 1: And he said in the example for your family, why
- 15:17Speaker 1: not follow something like that? It's finally here the season
- 15:20Speaker 1: of celebration, and no matter how you celebrate with family
- 15:24Speaker 1: and friends, whether you're preparing for reys magos or Karamu

- 17:27Speaker 1: my life and sometimes and I feel deem YouTube is
- 17:30Speaker 1: very successful. And I just wanted to make that statement
- 17:33Speaker 1: about you because so many moms are trapped at home
- 17:37Speaker 1: or don't know how to follow their dreams. I don't
- 17:39Speaker 1: know other options. And to watch you do it on
- 17:42Speaker 1: national TV and allow it to be outlined in this story,
- 17:46Speaker 1: I think it's really incredible. And I wanted to make
- 17:48Speaker 1: sure if you did know, now you know, okay, and
- 17:51Speaker 1: and that's that's a blessing you. You know what. I
- 17:53Speaker 1: want to say something on that real quick. When Pisa
- 17:57Speaker 1: first got accepted into the em read or the Master
- 18:00Speaker 1: the real estate development program, we had a conversation and
- 18:03Speaker 1: I said almost the same extent that what you're saying
- 18:06Speaker 1: right now said when the kitchen said, baby, you know
- 18:08Speaker 1: what this means, and they're like, yeah, you know. Now
- 18:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna be there, We're gonna be working together. I
- 18:12Speaker 1: was like teaking for you. I want you to understand
- 18:15Speaker 1: that no matter how big my personality is and where
- 18:20Speaker 1: I am at right now, your your star is brighter
- 18:23Speaker 1: than mine when it comes to this. Because as even
- 18:27Speaker 1: right now we have a strip mall um in North Flintsville,
- 18:31Speaker 1: I'm a commercial developer. He owns the strip mall. Even
- 18:35Speaker 1: as she was a stay at home mom, she was
- 18:38Speaker 1: the owner of our apartment complex. So the sole owner
- 18:42Speaker 1: is there any property sole owner? So the thing about
- 18:45Speaker 1: it is I hateful. Even with the choponism, this is
- 18:47Speaker 1: a lot we can laugh in the background. Right, chopping
- 18:50Speaker 1: is the main control is because even as people say, hey,
- 18:54Speaker 1: he stay at home mom, I don't want them to
- 18:56Speaker 1: think that the check them downs are not there. In
- 18:58Speaker 1: terms of ownership. She owns eight of scope. He owns
- 19:02Speaker 1: of the real state endeavors. She owns fifty one for
- 19:05Speaker 1: some of the Black de Girl lines. And so this
- 19:07Speaker 1: this my Storson lost his mind in terms of oh
- 19:10Speaker 1: he controlled and I walked away right now, I'd walking
- 19:12Speaker 1: with with less than fifteent of our wealth. So, uh,
- 19:16Speaker 1: you know, her start is bright, she had a bright stop. Now, Marcel,
- 19:20Speaker 1: I wouldn't I wouldn't dimnitioning her store. I was shining there,
- 19:23Speaker 1: I was shining. No, no, no, no no, I was
- 19:26Speaker 1: in agreement with you that you know it is the
- 19:31Speaker 1: beauty of it. Now. The moment for me, Marso, which
- 19:34Speaker 1: I thought really because I'm talking about the show too,
- 19:37Speaker 1: was was this was the storyline moment that really I
- 19:39Speaker 1: thought brought your character back was when in the restaurant,
- 19:43Speaker 1: you know, when you saw her. They allowed us to
- 19:46Speaker 1: see that you saw her potential. You know that was
- 19:49Speaker 1: important for your character. I thought for this for the
- 19:51Speaker 1: first season. Did you do you agree? Yeah? I think so,
- 19:57Speaker 1: I think so. I think that, Um, I don't know
- 20:00Speaker 1: how this works. Growing up, I wanted to be a projector,
- 20:03Speaker 1: I want to be provided heard. We we we were
- 20:06Speaker 1: we you know, we we saw it was holding it down.
- 20:08Speaker 1: That that's how we value the measure, and so yes,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I thought that, you know, I was doing right, you know,
- 20:14Speaker 1: and I didn't realize that. I mean, honestly, I just
- 20:18Speaker 1: didn't didn't even give the second thought that, you know,
- 20:20Speaker 1: my wife wanted to do this stuff too. I thought
- 20:22Speaker 1: he just wanted to be to sit back and kill
- 20:24Speaker 1: and we just kind of I didn't know how to
- 20:27Speaker 1: deal with it. I didn't know what it meant for us.
- 20:30Speaker 1: And so just as long as I'm listening and see
- 20:32Speaker 1: that he can contribute, and more so, enough thought, so yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 1: take him back a little bit on that one. But
- 20:39Speaker 1: you see how hard it say he was. He was like, okay, baby.
- 20:44Speaker 1: But then the authentic part of it, See, see I
- 20:47Speaker 1: got an eye for talent, and I see things play out,
- 20:50Speaker 1: and I see what they could do in the end
- 20:52Speaker 1: in the room. And I thought that was important that
- 20:54Speaker 1: that episode came up because I knew you kind of
- 20:57Speaker 1: like you joke a lot. You want the jokesters. You
- 20:59Speaker 1: know that your wife, And and like I said, people
- 21:02Speaker 1: can read jokes differently if they don't see the whole joke,
- 21:04Speaker 1: they just see the punch line. And so they caught
- 21:06Speaker 1: you a lot of punchlines. Okay, And then it built
- 21:09Speaker 1: you to be like a controlling guy. But that moment
- 21:12Speaker 1: in that restaurant, man, they shot it beautifully. Man, when
- 21:15Speaker 1: you looked over and go, Babe, I love you, I
- 21:18Speaker 1: got you, I got your back to me. I would
- 21:21Speaker 1: my boy back into the series. This is now. We
- 21:23Speaker 1: can move ahead and do everything now. I know you
- 21:25Speaker 1: want to do another podcast with him, but you know
- 21:27Speaker 1: everything else is beautiful. Let you know what I'm saying,
- 21:35Speaker 1: Teachers're gonna do no more podcast. When he said that loud,
- 21:39Speaker 1: let's get the script. He gotta get his script. See,
- 21:42Speaker 1: you're not gonna You're not gonna really more slow and
- 21:44Speaker 1: that and live with him no more, no, no, no, no,
- 21:46Speaker 1: no no no. Now. Mom. So let's talk about the
- 21:49Speaker 1: mother in law now. But what's real and what's fat
- 21:52Speaker 1: in your relationship with your mother in law? Teacher's mother, Man,
- 21:58Speaker 1: she's uh, I guess she's she's a she's a brother
- 22:03Speaker 1: of air, you know, but it's a fresh air, is
- 22:07Speaker 1: it fresher. I'm just saying I'm not gaging the friend.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I'm just saying that she has air stopping stopping. Your
- 22:20Speaker 1: mama's a bread and freshman. I'm gonna defend your mama. Teacher,
- 22:23Speaker 1: if you don't defend your mama's because what's fresh air?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Come on, friend, come on friends. Man, he's definitely Hey,
- 22:36Speaker 1: Hey that's Alabama. Say man, that's my guy. Hey. But man,
- 22:39Speaker 1: it's just it's it's just a lot, it's just a
- 22:41Speaker 1: lot to take and sometimes you gotta you gotta know
- 22:44Speaker 1: her heart. She's a sweet woman and she's gets a
- 22:46Speaker 1: lot of love and she's a little bit you know,
- 22:49Speaker 1: it's a little different than than you know, for all
- 22:53Speaker 1: was from. But she had a different little plaint with absolutely,
- 22:56Speaker 1: I'll say that. So, teacher, what's the goals? Now? What's
- 22:59Speaker 1: the goals? Now? You know, we talked a little about
- 23:01Speaker 1: the second season. We're about to roll into the first season.
- 23:03Speaker 1: We're about to roll in the second season because I
- 23:04Speaker 1: want to talk about the car line. But where are
- 23:06Speaker 1: you at with your career that they're showcasing in the
- 23:09Speaker 1: second season. Yeah, So, um, I am still in school
- 23:14Speaker 1: from still in school right now. Like I said, I'm
- 23:16Speaker 1: on an a T my program. So that is it
- 23:19Speaker 1: just it tough trying to back the school, the kids
- 23:22Speaker 1: and also um the plaza. So we're developing this retap plaza.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I've also done with two to commercial deals so far
- 23:30Speaker 1: with different small business owners. So I'm not like jumping
- 23:35Speaker 1: into the commercial world like fool of force. I'm taking
- 23:38Speaker 1: babies up to the fool. But I'm still making some
- 23:40Speaker 1: you know, I'm bringing some food to the table. A
- 23:42Speaker 1: little bit, just a little bit, a little a little
- 23:44Speaker 1: bit there, come on, so come on, Oh yeah, man,
- 23:49Speaker 1: he's making it happen. I mean, I think sometimes Peter
- 23:52Speaker 1: doesn't actually recognize here. He hasn't put on paper and
- 23:56Speaker 1: get a chance to see what he's actually doing. He
- 23:58Speaker 1: owns a strip mall here in towns. He's owned us.
- 24:01Speaker 1: He's building two restaurants or company is um you know,
- 24:07Speaker 1: building an apartment complex. We bout in the hotel, building
- 24:11Speaker 1: two restaurants, the strip mall. We're looking forward to building
- 24:13Speaker 1: other apartment complexes and things like that. So yeah, I
- 24:18Speaker 1: mean so so we've got a lot going on right now. Wow,
- 24:22Speaker 1: that's all that going on. So how did you cigar
- 24:24Speaker 1: lounge come up with? What I did? What gave that vision?
- 24:27Speaker 1: Because we're talking about Huntsfeld, Okay, we're not talking about
- 24:29Speaker 1: it Land in New York or Chicago. I'm gonna do
- 24:32Speaker 1: a cigar lounge in huts first before you answer to
- 24:34Speaker 1: the course, to tell everybody about Huntsville the environment, because
- 24:37Speaker 1: I've been there several times, because I should do stand
- 24:39Speaker 1: up comedy, and how's you coming to town and do?
- 24:41Speaker 1: And that's the headquarters of NASA. There's a lot of
- 24:44Speaker 1: a lot of educated people, a lot of educated dollars
- 24:47Speaker 1: in hunts Field. A lot of people know about it.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Tell us about Huntsville, right quick, Marcel Well hunt hunt
- 24:55Speaker 1: is a you know, it is a fast growing city. Uh,
- 25:00Speaker 1: it's it's one of the most north it's the northernmost uh,
- 25:03Speaker 1: you know, major cities in Alabama. And honestly it's it's uh,
- 25:07Speaker 1: it's a melting pot in terms of diversity of thought,
- 25:11Speaker 1: it is uh, you know, diversity of income. Most people
- 25:15Speaker 1: in that are living in Huntville now because of NASA, FBI, Facebook,
- 25:20Speaker 1: Hilaris and a lot of people that have come in
- 25:23Speaker 1: front of boom. A lot of people are not from Huntsville.
- 25:27Speaker 1: And so you get that, you get that ability to think,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I mean, as the most engineers for Cathol, I believe
- 25:31Speaker 1: in the the United States, definitely the most rocket scientists. So
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean, it's not crazy to have a conversation at
- 25:37Speaker 1: the bar and say, what are you some kind of
- 25:38Speaker 1: rocket scientists and they say, exactly right, And it's and
- 25:44Speaker 1: and it's really funny because it's not just it's it's uh,
- 25:48Speaker 1: it's a higher income, but it's not it's engineer money,
- 25:52Speaker 1: and engineer money spends a lot different than entertainment money
- 25:55Speaker 1: or um things like that. So when when people look
- 25:58Speaker 1: at what people look for and hunt to Ville, they
- 26:01Speaker 1: look for value. And you know, when we're kind of
- 26:03Speaker 1: assessing the area and kind of doing our demographic study
- 26:06Speaker 1: and saying what are we want to put over in
- 26:10Speaker 1: this area, that's kind of how Cigar Lounge came about.
- 26:13Speaker 1: When we're talking about when we started examining the area
- 26:16Speaker 1: and saying, you know what, what would be a good
- 26:18Speaker 1: fit here? Now, Okay, I was just gonna just add
- 26:25Speaker 1: a little bit to what Marco just said. The area
- 26:27Speaker 1: that we're developing the Cigar Lounge at the medium income
- 26:31Speaker 1: in that particular areas right around A hundred and fifty
- 26:34Speaker 1: one thousand. It's like, yeah, and it's a great area
- 26:38Speaker 1: for redevelopment and also small business grow um in North Huntsville,
- 26:44Speaker 1: which is where our that's our target market right now.
- 26:47Speaker 1: And it's like the economy there is the market prostrest
- 26:51Speaker 1: is like, um, it has increased by more than justice
- 26:56Speaker 1: like two thousand and eight. And then when you're you're
- 26:58Speaker 1: thinking about small business grow and around Seving Pit Range,
- 27:03Speaker 1: it's a great area to coming to to develop and
- 27:06Speaker 1: we're linking for more small businesses and restaurants to come
- 27:10Speaker 1: into the area. Well, wow, it sounds like a lot
- 27:12Speaker 1: of research has been put into this whole process. Is
- 27:15Speaker 1: food going to be served at the cigar lounge? Yes, sir,
- 27:21Speaker 1: it's by definition, but based on zoning, it's a restaurant,
- 27:25Speaker 1: right and in that so so we can't have an
- 27:28Speaker 1: actual class to lounge like a license. We're gonna definitely
- 27:31Speaker 1: have alcohol. Um. So it is actually a restaurant there, right, Um,
- 27:36Speaker 1: But but it features more topics, so you know it
- 27:41Speaker 1: features more topics. Is really upscale? Um? You know, exclusively,
- 27:46Speaker 1: I guess. I guess our tacklines is exclusively for everyone,
- 27:50Speaker 1: you know, to make sure that we're exclusive without excluding.
- 27:53Speaker 1: You know. The interesting thing about one of the reasons,
- 27:56Speaker 1: one of the one of the topics I bring up,
- 27:58Speaker 1: I always talk about a balanced life, living a balanced life,
- 28:01Speaker 1: and you know, this is really something that rings out
- 28:04Speaker 1: and when I communicate even when you were saying okay,
- 28:06Speaker 1: you know when we jokingly talked about the five year rule,
- 28:09Speaker 1: because that was that was your version of balanced life.
- 28:12Speaker 1: And then teachers say, hey, I want to get back
- 28:14Speaker 1: out there early. Then the balanced life, the whole issue
- 28:17Speaker 1: comes into the plane and all that stuff. Talk about
- 28:20Speaker 1: that whole how how is the balanced life working? Because
- 28:24Speaker 1: your kids? I always tell people children didn't ask to
- 28:26Speaker 1: come in this world. We brought them in, you know,
- 28:29Speaker 1: and then when they come here, we gotta be responsible
- 28:31Speaker 1: to raising them right and showing getting them time and
- 28:34Speaker 1: pointing them in the right direction. How is the balanced
- 28:36Speaker 1: life working now for you too? M hm? You know
- 28:43Speaker 1: what the road? You know, I always gonna say that,
- 28:49Speaker 1: um balance, you know, I understand where you talk about
- 28:54Speaker 1: like you know, the time, your words, food, you're you know,
- 28:59Speaker 1: and and and your money. Those are things. These are
- 29:02Speaker 1: daily battles. You're not gonna win it today and then
- 29:05Speaker 1: say oh it's good. You don't get to go to
- 29:07Speaker 1: the gym and say oh now I can eat what
- 29:09Speaker 1: I want because I worked out earlier, I made all
- 29:12Speaker 1: this and so now I get to spend it. You know,
- 29:14Speaker 1: this is these are daily balances. I mean did daily challenges.
- 29:17Speaker 1: And so that is the same with balants in your life.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Is that you know, I'll find sometimes and you said, man,
- 29:24Speaker 1: I'm doing really well. I'm you know, me and me
- 29:27Speaker 1: and my son m J. Where out golfing, me and
- 29:30Speaker 1: my daughter's head night and about flowers, you know, and
- 29:34Speaker 1: you know, there's all these things happen, and then the
- 29:36Speaker 1: next week you get a project and you get rain,
- 29:38Speaker 1: and you got kids right here, and I mean you're
- 29:41Speaker 1: working all day and all all night and stuff like that.
- 29:44Speaker 1: So balance is something that you have to That's why
- 29:47Speaker 1: we lean on each other. Sometimes you look at each
- 29:50Speaker 1: other and say, hey, baby, out of balance. And sometimes
- 29:53Speaker 1: they they miss you, the kids miss you. I miss you.
- 29:56Speaker 1: What are we doing? Are we getting too focused? I'll
- 29:58Speaker 1: be looking too far down the roll with it readily
- 30:00Speaker 1: to really see what's in the car, you know. So
- 30:03Speaker 1: we need those checks from each other and and and
- 30:05Speaker 1: so yes, we try to work on balancing down to
- 30:07Speaker 1: get out of balance. I appreciate both of you guys
- 30:10Speaker 1: coming on the show. I love both of you. Okay,
- 30:14Speaker 1: Like I said, you are a star, a rising T shirt.

- 30:29Speaker 1: moving forward. You know, friendship is a sentsial to the soul,
- 30:32Speaker 1: you know, for Carlips up uplift. Okay, So, but don't change,
- 30:37Speaker 1: both of you, guys. I really appreciate you coming on

- 30:51Speaker 1: long as you maintain focused on the importance of being
- 30:54Speaker 1: a couple and being great parents, you're gonna keep winning. Okay,
- 30:59Speaker 1: keep that. We're really for having us on to just
- 31:03Speaker 1: talk about a little bit about the show and about
- 31:05Speaker 1: the business. And I know one of the things everybody
- 31:07Speaker 1: kept saying, you know, you have to make sure you
- 31:09Speaker 1: have that foundation. Your foundation is good. So we'll be

- 31:21Speaker 1: and I'm like, you know, we just pray every day
