Everyone in the small community of Springfield, Missouri adored Dee Dee Blanchard and her disabled daughter Gypsy Rose. They were survivors of hurricane Katrina and had been through so much. Gypsy was quadriplegic, had been in a wheelchair most her short life, and suffered from a host of ailments, including leukemia, epilepsy, and muscular dystrophy, she was also severely mentally handicapped, but she braved all her struggles stoically, with a smile on her face.
