- 3:10Speaker 1: Tyler Payers Assistant Living coming back on BT because you
- 3:13Speaker 1: can't keep it all because it's number one, that's why,
- 3:16Speaker 1: number one with eighteen and four to night, number one
- 3:18Speaker 1: with television twenty one, and it's already been renew Ain't
- 3:22Speaker 1: that nice? Ain't that nice? Please? Broken conversation David and
- 3:28Speaker 1: Tamla Man, WHOA, come on, y'all? Hello, I love it,
- 3:36Speaker 1: you know you. I think I want I think I
- 3:42Speaker 1: want you to do my my eulogy at my funeral.
- 3:44Speaker 1: World making introductions like that. I'll tell you something. First
- 3:48Speaker 1: of all, y'all know you'll have a favorite couple, oh
- 3:50Speaker 1: you know, favorite cup obviously your favorite couple from Tyler
- 3:54Speaker 1: Para too, because you know, you guys became legends in
- 3:58Speaker 1: the stage play world. And then I was able to
- 4:01Speaker 1: to turn in Ato your own tour because right before
- 4:04Speaker 1: the COVID hit, you guys were touring as a family.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Is he gonna come back? Uh? In one? That was
- 4:10Speaker 1: gonna be moving two. Wen y'all go back on the road.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Take the family back on the road as a tour.
- 4:16Speaker 1: You know, we we we're just trying to juggle and
- 4:19Speaker 1: get back to normal. First before we you know, we're
- 4:22Speaker 1: releasing new music for Tamala and uh right now we're
- 4:25Speaker 1: just trying to maneuver and just figure out this whole
- 4:28Speaker 1: new new way of normal. And then then we only look,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'm ready to go back out. I just want everybody
- 4:38Speaker 1: else to be ready too. Well. You know that's very true,
- 4:41Speaker 1: because you know I will tell everybody I'm fully vaccinated.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I always tell I try to promote the factor. We
- 4:46Speaker 1: have to get vaccinated. We have to get out there
- 4:49Speaker 1: to get you know, and promote the factor. And no,
- 4:51Speaker 1: who there no agenda, and guess what, nothing's perfect out there.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I'm not saying if you get vaccinated, you might not
- 4:56Speaker 1: have some ill effects, but I would tell you this
- 4:59Speaker 1: and you not both. Once I got vaccinated, it changed
- 5:01Speaker 1: my whole perspective. I wasn't paranori anymore. I felt safer.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I felt I could get on with my life. What
- 5:08Speaker 1: would your what would you eat? Your feedback when you
- 5:10Speaker 1: got vaccinated were for us? I mean some you know,
- 5:14Speaker 1: some parts like even when I say so my kids,
- 5:17Speaker 1: he was like, no, we're not doing I was like,
- 5:19Speaker 1: but we're doing it. Because like when I go see
- 5:21Speaker 1: my mother in law, she had some issues. I have
- 5:24Speaker 1: a sister that has some issues. You know, it's just
- 5:27Speaker 1: people that's around me that have issues, and I'm not
- 5:29Speaker 1: just looking at for me. I'm looking at for them
- 5:32Speaker 1: as well, and even as you know, for the family.
- 5:34Speaker 1: So we're just not even, like you said, encouraging people
- 5:38Speaker 1: to just you know, do do what's right for you,
- 5:40Speaker 1: do what's right for you. But we we felt like
- 5:42Speaker 1: it was right, and like you said, you know, it
- 5:44Speaker 1: just made us less paranoria. We're around a lot of people,
- 5:48Speaker 1: we traveled, and so I wanted to get back to
- 5:50Speaker 1: that and and not just be like, oh my god,
- 5:53Speaker 1: you know, you know who I want to do. They
- 5:55Speaker 1: have it right. It gave us a you know, just
- 6:00Speaker 1: just feel a little safer. And I'm the worst because
- 6:05Speaker 1: I'm such a hugger. I was. He was like, if
- 6:10Speaker 1: you somebody didn't have a phone blown COVID and she
- 6:13Speaker 1: wanted you didn't know. It was just I was just
- 6:18Speaker 1: so used to it. So I'm just we were at
- 6:21Speaker 1: a funeral, supposed to be social distancing. She doesn't grab
- 6:25Speaker 1: the mic and hit the mic with her list know
- 6:29Speaker 1: what are you doing? But what I ain't like people
- 6:34Speaker 1: coming up to her the hug. I said, no, no,
- 6:37Speaker 1: we're not even supposed to be absolutely, you know. And
- 6:40Speaker 1: then I'm talking to David Chaplin Man and uh, you know,
- 6:43Speaker 1: dyed any story that they tell us as an honest story,
- 6:45Speaker 1: and it's a story about life. And the thing about
- 6:47Speaker 1: it is before we were talking last time, I've seen it,
- 6:50Speaker 1: and David, you started talking about how music and I'm
- 6:52Speaker 1: just telling you, Tamla Man said, a historic and personal
- 6:55Speaker 1: industry record, the first gospel lead artists and bill Board
- 6:58Speaker 1: Gospel history, three consecutive number ones from an aburm. This
- 7:02Speaker 1: is what we're talking about. And so I always want
- 7:04Speaker 1: to bring act that version because I'm also gonna talk
- 7:06Speaker 1: about your business, your entrepreneurship, your leisure line and all
- 7:09Speaker 1: that stuff and your various campaigns. And then I also
- 7:12Speaker 1: want to talk about the producer side that you do, David,
- 7:15Speaker 1: what I like to always bring up when I bring
- 7:17Speaker 1: talent like you on money making conversation. People see only
- 7:19Speaker 1: one side of you. They see the entertainment side, they
- 7:23Speaker 1: see the comedic side. But you're there are lawyers to
- 7:25Speaker 1: the man's family. Tamela tell us about that. Well, like
- 7:30Speaker 1: like you said, we're started with with me for me,
- 7:32Speaker 1: started with music, then we started into the acting thing.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And now you know, David, he pushed me. He pushed
- 7:40Speaker 1: me into really big standing out being an artist, which
- 7:42Speaker 1: I'm really grateful for because he's helped me, with God's help,
- 7:45Speaker 1: he's helped me become the actress and the artists that
- 7:49Speaker 1: I am today. And then even to go into the
- 7:52Speaker 1: clothing line Tamila Man Collection, which is at at Leisure Whares.
- 7:57Speaker 1: You know, so force like like I have something on today,
- 8:01Speaker 1: but I'm just really excited about all the different things
- 8:05Speaker 1: that we that we do have our hands in because
- 8:08Speaker 1: we've learned that you can't put all your eggs in
- 8:10Speaker 1: one basket. That means just like you're concentrating just on
- 8:14Speaker 1: one thing, but sometimes you have more than just one gift.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And it's just like him with he is the mastermind
- 8:21Speaker 1: of all of our little things that we have going on,
- 8:25Speaker 1: and I really appreciate him pushing us even as a family.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I'm a big believer in ownership. I like ownership. I
- 8:32Speaker 1: like to own my masters. I like the O. You
- 8:35Speaker 1: know that. I just I'm a big believer in on
- 8:37Speaker 1: it and you know that way you can create the
- 8:40Speaker 1: narrative for yourself and you don't have to have somebody
- 8:43Speaker 1: else to kind of, you know, navigate how you want
- 8:47Speaker 1: to do it. So that that's just how I operate
- 8:50Speaker 1: the business is just like, let's just get in there.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Because with her, I told him, you have a following.
- 8:54Speaker 1: People see you snatched. They want to know how you're snatched.
- 8:58Speaker 1: They want to know how you look, where you get
- 9:00Speaker 1: that stuff from. So she just started creating and designing
- 9:03Speaker 1: her own stuff, and I was like, don't worry, I'll
- 9:05Speaker 1: get somebody we can start distributing it. That's the way
- 9:09Speaker 1: it was with the music. I'll find this distribution, will
- 9:12Speaker 1: you know, will produce it ourselves and make it do So,
- 9:16Speaker 1: I have new music coming June for a new single
- 9:18Speaker 1: help Me. The new album is don't drop in all
- 9:21Speaker 1: this look I'll be back you know, we'll be back
- 9:27Speaker 1: dropping in all this. So I'm in it. But I'm
- 9:29Speaker 1: really excited about it because I have, you know, just
- 9:33Speaker 1: looking at you know, yourself, and and David and and
- 9:36Speaker 1: really putting my hands to work this album. I put
- 9:40Speaker 1: my hands to work more than I ever have with
- 9:42Speaker 1: any of the other ones. Maybe because we did have
- 9:45Speaker 1: the pandemic we had more time I was writing more
- 9:48Speaker 1: just eaven putting the help and putting the artwork together,
- 9:52Speaker 1: just creating the ideas for videos. But we just want
- 9:55Speaker 1: to encourage our people that we can make it happen
- 9:58Speaker 1: if we if we support each other, we you make
- 10:00Speaker 1: it hair. It's finally here, the season of celebration, and
- 10:05Speaker 1: no matter how you celebrate with family and friends, whether
- 10:08Speaker 1: you're preparing for reis magos or Karamu lighting the Manura,
- 10:12Speaker 1: are going to midnight mass, Coals has just what you
- 10:15Speaker 1: need to make those traditions special. Plus you'll find gifts
- 10:19Speaker 1: for all your loved ones. Send warm wishes with cozy fleeces, sweaters, loungeware,
- 10:24Speaker 1: blankets and throws. Support minority owned or founded brands by
- 10:28Speaker 1: giving gifts from Human Nation and shame moisture, or treat
- 10:31Speaker 1: them to everyone's favorite active wear from top brands like Nike, Adidas,
- 10:36Speaker 1: and under Armor. And in the spirit of giving, Coals
- 10:39Speaker 1: Cares is donating eight million dollars to local nonprofits nationwide
- 10:43Speaker 1: committed to the health and well being of our communities.
- 10:46Speaker 1: No matter how you celebrate, when you shop at Coals,
- 10:50Speaker 1: you're right where you belong. So this season give with

- 11:06Speaker 1: face of a wizard with arms outstretched to the sky.

- 11:54Speaker 1: you by the United States Force Service and the AD Council.
- 11:57Speaker 1: You know an interesting thing about it is that your
- 12:00Speaker 1: your beautiful couple. And in the longevity the book, when
- 12:05Speaker 1: I had you guys on the show talking about that
- 12:07Speaker 1: and when because that means that it's possible, because you know,
- 12:11Speaker 1: we always here the percent of the marriage and the divorce.
- 12:14Speaker 1: What is the most When I'm talking to David and
- 12:16Speaker 1: Tamila man, what advice do you give the people who
- 12:19Speaker 1: struggling Because you know you have a strong faith. We
- 12:22Speaker 1: all know faith is tied to that. What advice do
- 12:25Speaker 1: you give when those moments of doubt come into a relationship.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I always tay, like I tell my staff and telling
- 12:32Speaker 1: tell everybody, there's a there's a little picture and there's
- 12:35Speaker 1: a big picture. I'm looking at the big picture of
- 12:38Speaker 1: it all. What what is to come? And you know,
- 12:41Speaker 1: for us, even as a couple in the industry, like
- 12:44Speaker 1: you were saying, with divorce, we genuinely enjoy each other's company.
- 12:49Speaker 1: People ask us, what's the key, what's the secret? I
- 12:51Speaker 1: like this woman right here, and we've managed we we
- 12:55Speaker 1: just celebrated thirty three years in April, and it's because
- 12:58Speaker 1: we genuinely and joy each other's company. In this pandemic,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you know, people were locked in the house seven with
- 13:06Speaker 1: each other. So either you you discovered I really love you,
- 13:10Speaker 1: or you discovered I don't like you at all? Yes, yes, yes,
- 13:15Speaker 1: yes yes. For us, we discovered I like you even more.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I mean and to you know, because people were leaving here.
- 13:24Speaker 1: So I just never want to take him for granted.
- 13:27Speaker 1: And you know the things that he do for me
- 13:29Speaker 1: and help me with, you know, and I just want
- 13:31Speaker 1: to become more of a friend or wife, whatever areas
- 13:36Speaker 1: that he needs. I just want to be there. I
- 13:39Speaker 1: just don't want it to be one sided that you're
- 13:41Speaker 1: helping me accomplish everything that I want to accomplish. I
- 13:43Speaker 1: want to help you accomplish some of those things too.
- 13:46Speaker 1: So it's like we try to put each other before
- 13:49Speaker 1: each other. You know. It's not not looking at it
- 13:51Speaker 1: through just a one vision. Uh one. I just focused
- 13:56Speaker 1: on myself that I but it's on both of us
- 13:59Speaker 1: that we were making things happen for each other. We're
- 14:01Speaker 1: know an interesting thing. That's why I'm so happy to
- 14:04Speaker 1: see you guys again. Because you know, David, he called
- 14:07Speaker 1: me all the time or I called him. I got
- 14:09Speaker 1: this new record, look at this video? Can you help
- 14:11Speaker 1: me drop it? You know, because he's a natural business person.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Pandemic shut down a lot of that because we all
- 14:17Speaker 1: were confused. The world stopped. We didn't know when it
- 14:20Speaker 1: was gonna start back up. And now that it's starting
- 14:22Speaker 1: back up, and I see the success and the opportunity.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Now you lead your where you know you you are
- 14:29Speaker 1: a RP representative. All those things were coming your way.
- 14:33Speaker 1: You're looking on the other's hand. David, you're like a manager,
- 14:36Speaker 1: proud husband, proud papa. I told you so, I told
- 14:40Speaker 1: you can do a guy. When you look at that,
- 14:43Speaker 1: you can. That's why that's why I read those credits
- 14:45Speaker 1: like I read them. I read David and joke Y,
- 14:48Speaker 1: I just read all of hers, because he's responsible for
- 14:51Speaker 1: that isn't here he really is, because people PO would
- 14:54Speaker 1: ask him a che I's like like, because well I
- 14:57Speaker 1: know that you. I mean, people asking me the crazy
- 14:59Speaker 1: questions like well you're making all the money. No, I'm
- 15:02Speaker 1: really not making all the money, y'all really just don't know.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Like you said, he is the mastermind behind it all.
- 15:08Speaker 1: So it's like we're doing this together, and you know,
- 15:11Speaker 1: it's like we're both in the fourth and even in that,
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'm so secure and who I am. None of that
- 15:17Speaker 1: even bothers me when I tell you at all, because
- 15:19Speaker 1: I'm so at fifty five, I'm so cool and who
- 15:23Speaker 1: I am. They come up and say all of that,
- 15:26Speaker 1: and I'm like, good, that's great. Yeah, because we both
- 15:30Speaker 1: share the same last name and the bank account, all
- 15:33Speaker 1: the numbers on the bank accounts, it has both about
- 15:36Speaker 1: the name zone, so it doesn't matter to me. Well
- 15:39Speaker 1: that then and that and I know it doesn't. But
- 15:41Speaker 1: what I wanted to say in that and just emphasize
- 15:44Speaker 1: it's the roles that we play in the marriage, well,
- 15:47Speaker 1: the roles that were playing a relationship. And what happens
- 15:50Speaker 1: is that's what destroyers are married and get confused. You know,
- 15:53Speaker 1: you know what success? What role did you play? And
- 15:56Speaker 1: I'm saying is that he plays a very subtle role
- 15:59Speaker 1: pup look, and that's the beauty of who he is.
- 16:02Speaker 1: That's why I love David Man. You know, he is
- 16:04Speaker 1: so brilliant as a comedian, as an actor. And then
- 16:08Speaker 1: you were sitting in the room when and you go,
- 16:11Speaker 1: do you know who you are? What you're talking about? Rashwan?
- 16:13Speaker 1: You you're one of the funniest guys. I know what
- 16:16Speaker 1: you're talking about. A quiet off and when I was
- 16:18Speaker 1: talking to you, guys, we shout we regular, We just
- 16:21Speaker 1: regular people. And y'all know, y'all not look because you
- 16:29Speaker 1: know what, I just I don't look at that celebrity thing,
- 16:33Speaker 1: you know, because I feel like we're all special with
- 16:35Speaker 1: all stars in guy's eye. I mean, I thank God
- 16:38Speaker 1: for the platform that the Lord is helped us, you
- 16:42Speaker 1: know get And I haven't want to say that, but
- 16:45Speaker 1: I'm just really grateful for the opportunity to help somebody else,
- 16:49Speaker 1: encourage somebody else. That's what it's all about when it
- 16:52Speaker 1: comes to my music. You know, even with the clothing line,
- 16:56Speaker 1: it's for the full figure women of Sometimes in so
- 16:59Speaker 1: many areas, I feel like we get left out where
- 17:01Speaker 1: our stuff is not as cute as stuff with a
- 17:03Speaker 1: smaller woman. Not knocking them, but we won't cute stuff too.
- 17:07Speaker 1: So that's why I did that every girl. So it's
- 17:13Speaker 1: like we just found everybody. We're having a serious conversation.
- 17:19Speaker 1: He's gonna just dive in with thick. Gers need to

- 18:45Speaker 1: guy with his own catchphrase, I appreciate that Smokey's only
- 18:48Speaker 1: said only you can prevent wildfires, but I'm filling it
- 18:52Speaker 1: because there's a lot more to report, like when they're
- 18:55Speaker 1: parched or windy conditions out there. You gotta be extra
- 18:58Speaker 1: careful with things like burning yard waist. After all, wildfires
- 19:02Speaker 1: can start anywhere, even in your neck of the woods.

- 19:14Speaker 1: because you know, I met you second, and then you
- 19:16Speaker 1: came in my life second. The first he came into
- 19:19Speaker 1: my life first, you know, because I would tell everybody
- 19:22Speaker 1: publicly like I think I know everything, but I don't
- 19:25Speaker 1: know everything. I think I know who are famous, then
- 19:28Speaker 1: I don't know who famous. The first time I met
- 19:32Speaker 1: Mr Man was that when um Fisher t DJ held
- 19:36Speaker 1: his gospel celebration in Atlanta. And uh, you know, me
- 19:40Speaker 1: and Steve we're walking around like we started. You know,
- 19:42Speaker 1: We're walking around here, see harbor, I'm next to I'm
- 19:44Speaker 1: getting all this shadow. You know I'm gonna start because
- 19:46Speaker 1: I'm in this shadow, right, And then this dude came
- 19:50Speaker 1: around the corner with these ugly pants on. They were
- 19:52Speaker 1: too tight and walked on State and the place exploded,
- 19:58Speaker 1: And like when Steve, who is that dude? He's as
- 20:02Speaker 1: I think that Mr Brown? Who is Mr? Brown? Me?
- 20:06Speaker 1: You are a phenomenon. You are an underground phenomenon. David Mann, No,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I'm telling what Steve said. At first, my kids are
- 20:15Speaker 1: back there and they said Steve said, who is they saying, Well,
- 20:19Speaker 1: I'm with David Man. Who is the mad man? Then
- 20:24Speaker 1: I went on Sage and it was like that, and
- 20:26Speaker 1: Steve was like, oh, okay, you do, Steve, Steve, throw
- 20:32Speaker 1: me some shade, dude. Well I'm tech. We are Mecho Mecho.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Because I didn't know who you're watching? Wold you do
- 20:39Speaker 1: with the pants on me? He took over? I mean
- 20:43Speaker 1: twenty thousand people were following him. If he had a pipe,
- 20:46Speaker 1: he could have laid them right down the street because
- 20:49Speaker 1: they were fans of you. I don't care about Steve
- 20:53Speaker 1: Harvey showtime at the Apollo Deaf comedy JWN, Me and
- 20:56Speaker 1: the Boys. You and my brother built a star power
- 21:01Speaker 1: fan base underground before TV, before radio. Tell us about
- 21:07Speaker 1: that journey. Come on, David Man, you know what I mean.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I've been doing this character for twenty years and never
- 21:14Speaker 1: could have imagined that playing this character could could make
- 21:17Speaker 1: my dreams, her dreams of our kids, grandkids could make
- 21:22Speaker 1: I mean some of our dreams come true. Never could
- 21:24Speaker 1: have imagined we were just doing it. We had to
- 21:26Speaker 1: be on the road to earn an honest living. It
- 21:29Speaker 1: kept us from doing it legal stuff, but it was it.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Never could have imagined that it would grow to to this,
- 21:37Speaker 1: to where doing another television show assist a living and
- 21:41Speaker 1: still be relevant after twenty years. That's in this industry.
- 21:44Speaker 1: You know that that just doesn't happen. And I don't
- 21:47Speaker 1: take it for granted. I just know that it's really
- 21:50Speaker 1: a blessing. It really is. Now. The characters that you
- 21:53Speaker 1: guys play really were born out of a play for
- 21:58Speaker 1: Tyler's Perry's play correct. You know Coore you played his
- 22:01Speaker 1: daughter in the TV series and Sister Living. You got
- 22:04Speaker 1: my board watch out there now. J Anthony brown on
- 22:10Speaker 1: I've been on jail. Jenned Browns is eight six. A
- 22:15Speaker 1: little history of me when I when I left my
- 22:17Speaker 1: job at IBM to go to stand up comedy. He
- 22:20Speaker 1: was the first black comedian I met on the role
- 22:22Speaker 1: he was headlining and it was in mobile Alabama, where
- 22:26Speaker 1: we met, and back then they wouldn't put in two
- 22:28Speaker 1: black comedians on the show at the same time. It's
- 22:31Speaker 1: just the white headline of counseled at the last minute,
- 22:34Speaker 1: and they brought Jenis Brown in as an emergency. That's
- 22:37Speaker 1: how I met him, and he's and he's been in
- 22:39Speaker 1: my life every since. So I know you gotta get
- 22:41Speaker 1: special talent. J Cole about two days ago, Man, this song.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I didn't know you were singing like this. He was
- 22:49Speaker 1: listening to a song from the Love album ups and Downs.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Because I didn't blame it by five times, a text,
- 22:55Speaker 1: men comes up, I'm loving this song. I'm loving this song.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I was like, I'm just doing what I think. He's
- 23:02Speaker 1: a very nice man. He's a very night he's funny,
- 23:05Speaker 1: but he's a very nice guy. Very nice guy. Well,
- 23:08Speaker 1: just like you guys, don't trying for nothing. But there
- 23:14Speaker 1: ain't no time just right now. You if you wait
- 23:17Speaker 1: for your food, you better go ahead and eat because
- 23:19Speaker 1: it's gonna get cold. Wait. No j Anthony Brown, but
- 23:22Speaker 1: when he come in, he gonna light up the room. Though,
- 23:24Speaker 1: when he come in, when I tell you, the energy
- 23:29Speaker 1: that he brings to the show sometimes We're like, Jay,
- 23:33Speaker 1: did you just say what I thank you saying? And
- 23:35Speaker 1: then you know, I'm always telling him, Okay, okay, come
- 23:38Speaker 1: on with cousin James, come on. I'm like, ok remember
- 23:42Speaker 1: we got kids just watching too, Okay, I will do it.
- 23:45Speaker 1: And then Papa the energy that he brings to the
- 23:48Speaker 1: show man, I'm telling you it's a joy working with.
- 23:52Speaker 1: And I can't say that about everybody. You know, we know.
- 23:55Speaker 1: And there's the thing about it, because I'm talking to
- 23:57Speaker 1: David Tamler man start a new time Tyler Paris Assisted
- 24:01Speaker 1: Living series as air on BT every Tuesday and nine
- 24:04Speaker 1: thirty follows The House of Pain at nine o'clock. It's
- 24:08Speaker 1: a Tyler Perry block every Tuesday on being I'm just
- 24:11Speaker 1: gonna be real now, you know, Tyler Perry taking over everything,
- 24:14Speaker 1: Tyler Perry gonna be Tyler Perry, gonna be on the
- 24:16Speaker 1: moon pretty soon. You want to just look up there
- 24:18Speaker 1: and just see t p TV probably right there. But
- 24:24Speaker 1: you know when I when I look at the success
- 24:26Speaker 1: of themand's because you're a brand. Now, Now, what is
- 24:30Speaker 1: the responsibility of being a brand? Because both of you
- 24:33Speaker 1: guys are out there and then you take a management
- 24:36Speaker 1: producer role oftentimes, David and you take a talent, but
- 24:40Speaker 1: you're still an entrepreneur, businesswoman. There's a lot of things
- 24:44Speaker 1: going in there. Thirty three years of marriage and I'll
- 24:47Speaker 1: celebrate my thirty three year of marriage and December, So
- 24:50Speaker 1: thank you very much, thank you very much. So that's
- 24:53Speaker 1: what we're always gonna have that little link together because
- 24:55Speaker 1: I know there was a moment in my life, especially
- 24:58Speaker 1: entertainment when you just traveling. You're traveling, and entertainment is
- 25:02Speaker 1: a fickle business because there's no consistency. You can't sometimes
- 25:06Speaker 1: buy a house, you can't buy clothes, you can't die
- 25:09Speaker 1: anything because you know what, that check you got is
- 25:11Speaker 1: gonna be there next week. So I talk about overcoming
- 25:15Speaker 1: that uncertainty to maintain this longevity, and then we're gonna
- 25:19Speaker 1: talk more about the series in detail. Assisted living. You know,
- 25:23Speaker 1: been in this industry, We've been in this industry for
- 25:26Speaker 1: twenty five years, and like you said, we had a
- 25:28Speaker 1: lot of friends that said, you know what, and a
- 25:30Speaker 1: lot of talented brothers that have said, you know what,
- 25:32Speaker 1: y'all going to do that the uncertainty is too much
- 25:35Speaker 1: for me. So what we decided to do is just
- 25:38Speaker 1: jump out there full just in faith. I mean we
- 25:42Speaker 1: it's and I think we start ninety ninety three or
- 25:47Speaker 1: something like that, I don't know, somewhere back and then
- 25:49Speaker 1: we would decide just getting into the game. And it
- 25:51Speaker 1: was like scary because sometime it's up and sometimes it's day.
- 25:55Speaker 1: And we just decided, Lord, we're going full time in it.
- 25:59Speaker 1: And we haven't back. You know, as we were talking about,
- 26:02Speaker 1: with the characters and the music and all of that,
- 26:05Speaker 1: we've just made sure as entrepreneurs that it hadn't been
- 26:08Speaker 1: we haven't been one trick ponies. And that's what I
- 26:11Speaker 1: think helped us to survive in this pandemic is because yeah,
- 26:16Speaker 1: we're not only just depended on the road and you
- 26:18Speaker 1: were doing you know, like I said, we have a
- 26:20Speaker 1: clothing line, We have you know, music and television and
- 26:23Speaker 1: you know, stuff like that to kind of help sustain
- 26:26Speaker 1: through all of this. You know, it's really interesting because
- 26:29Speaker 1: that's that multiple levels of income that we talked about.
- 26:32Speaker 1: A lot of people don't do that. They can see
- 26:34Speaker 1: that lane of success. And guess what pandemic talks us
- 26:37Speaker 1: a lot about pivoty, about looking at the mailbox money,
- 26:40Speaker 1: What are you doing besides your primary income or the
- 26:43Speaker 1: other income. And that's the platform that you guys are
- 26:46Speaker 1: both of you guys have created and it has sustained
- 26:48Speaker 1: itself through these these dark times. And and but but
- 26:55Speaker 1: but but I have to be I have to say
- 26:56Speaker 1: that before we go, is that we're just about Tyler area.
- 27:00Speaker 1: And it's a good thing is that you guys have
- 27:03Speaker 1: had a lot of success with him. Can you can
- 27:05Speaker 1: you put in maybe a minute or less than a minute,
- 27:08Speaker 1: or talk as long as you want about the greatness
- 27:11Speaker 1: of Tyler Perry, his influence in this industry when a
- 27:14Speaker 1: lot of people questioned it, and his impact on your
- 27:17Speaker 1: lives and the people he entertains today. Well, a lot
- 27:22Speaker 1: of stuff that people that people don't see is the
- 27:24Speaker 1: giving that he does outside of you know, you hear
- 27:27Speaker 1: about some of the stuff that he can do in
- 27:29Speaker 1: the public guy, but there's a lot more going on
- 27:33Speaker 1: behind the scenes that he's doing and helping other people. Uh,
- 27:37Speaker 1: he just choose not to let it be known. Uh.
- 27:40Speaker 1: He asked me a question. We were on the road
- 27:42Speaker 1: and he asked me the question, so what would it
- 27:44Speaker 1: take for you to retire? And Uh, I gave him
- 27:46Speaker 1: a number and was like okay. He said, no, you
- 27:49Speaker 1: gotta dream higher. You gotta dream much higher. And I
- 27:52Speaker 1: thought about it. I was like, you're right, Okay, you're right.
- 27:57Speaker 1: And it just made even see in the studio and
- 27:59Speaker 1: send the other the stuff that he's done and that
- 28:01Speaker 1: he's doing. It just made you dare to dream bigger,
- 28:05Speaker 1: dare to go, you know, like put in the work.
- 28:08Speaker 1: You see him, because when I tell you do work,
- 28:10Speaker 1: people don't believe how much this he worked. By the
- 28:13Speaker 1: time he finishes a series, he's exhausted. And I've seen
- 28:16Speaker 1: it because he puts his mind, body, everything into doing this.
- 28:21Speaker 1: And that's that's stuff that I've seen through the years.
- 28:24Speaker 1: And it's just like, Okay, if that's how he's doing it,
- 28:27Speaker 1: if that's how he's become a Mogo building, I said, Okay,
- 28:34Speaker 1: I see it. So it just made me start, Okay,
- 28:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna build mine. And I called him the other
- 28:38Speaker 1: day and I say, man, I'm a little afraid on something.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I got an opportunity, but I'm afraid what you waiting Now,
- 28:46Speaker 1: just go do it, man, And I was like, okay,
- 28:49Speaker 1: So I pulled the trigger on it. Just I called
- 28:51Speaker 1: him and just asked him his advice on it. He said,
- 28:54Speaker 1: I can't tell you all the choice worth he tell me, like, man,
- 28:58Speaker 1: he's going to do it to stop being right. That's
- 29:02Speaker 1: just where is Tambla Well for me? I mean to
- 29:06Speaker 1: see him, you know we started in nineteen nine and nine.
- 29:09Speaker 1: To see him from then to now, I'm very if
- 29:13Speaker 1: I can say, as a sister friend, I'm very proud
- 29:16Speaker 1: of him and even how he's grown, even with dealing
- 29:21Speaker 1: with the people. I mean, it's like you know, him
- 29:23Speaker 1: finding himself and and like you just like that's the
- 29:26Speaker 1: years grow. I've just seen him grow and I'm just
- 29:30Speaker 1: really really proud of him and everything that he's accomplished. Look,
- 29:34Speaker 1: ain't no jealous bone in our body. They're very happy
- 29:37Speaker 1: and pushing him on, and I'm praying for him all
- 29:40Speaker 1: the time, and I'm just really I'm really, really really
- 29:44Speaker 1: proud of him. I really am. I just that's the
- 29:48Speaker 1: biggest I'm just happy for him. I'm so happy for well.
