- 1:20Enough chit chat. Let's get on with the summer Speedos.
- 1:31I met this mom and she's was
- 1:35a victim of a violent crime, she and her 3 daughters, and they
- 1:39escaped with very little. I found out about her right before Christmas.
- 1:46Actually, a community donor said that she had things to
- 1:49donate, and I was the connecting church. And so
- 1:53on the 23rd December, we delivered a lot of clothes and
- 1:57shoes and foods to the hotel where the agency had put
- 2:00this family up.
- 2:04I really didn't get to meet the family at that point. There was a strange
- 2:08glitch, and I just ended up leaving everything.
- 2:13Fast forward a few days, another request comes through care
- 2:16portal. It sounds like the same family, so I pick up the request.
- 2:24Enough, same family. They had moved into some temporary
- 2:28housing, so I gathered up the request items, air mattresses,
- 2:32and and a teammate, and we went to deliver, and I finally
- 2:36got to meet the family.
- 2:40This mom is amazing, but she told us that
- 2:44she just all the events that had happened to her, her car
- 2:48broke down. Her daughter was
- 2:51suicidal. She has 2 children and herself are type 1
- 2:55diabetic. They were camping out in this
- 2:59really bad situation and then stayed in the hotel, but that was, you know,
- 3:03just for a little while. And she was just going through such a
- 3:06nightmare, and she said, I just was trying to figure out how I could
- 3:10just end it all. I could take my life and, also, my children
- 3:14just put us all out of this misery.
- 3:22And she said, I I think God must hate me. And I
- 3:26said, God doesn't hate you. God loves you.
- 3:30And she said, well, nobody sees me. Nobody
- 3:33sees us. And I said, I'm here and I see you.
- 3:37We're here. God loves you and
- 3:41you're surviving this. It's incredible. This is
- 3:44incredible bad situation. And she said, well, I wanna know
- 3:48how to have God in my heart. I mean, I hear people talk about
- 3:51that. I just don't think that God is for
- 3:55me. And we
- 3:59said, of course, God is for you. You know, Jesus has bought
- 4:02you. He's paid for you. He loves you. You're not perfect. We're not
- 4:06perfect. But you are righteous because of Jesus. And
- 4:10God loves you and accepts you and you're reconciled with God.
- 4:17And just the look on her face, and she
- 4:21just broke down and cried. We hugged her.
- 4:27We've been in contact couple times a day since
- 4:31then. Another church has partnered with us to
- 4:34help support this family. They brought her, you know, a microwave
- 4:38and a way that she could, you know, store some food in this very
- 4:42temporary shelter that they're in the moment. Care
- 4:45portal made that connection, and that community donor
- 4:49that had a closet full clothes donate that roped me into this.
- 4:53You know, bless your heart.
- 4:57Families need to be seen. They need to know that God loves them.
- 5:01They need to know that there is a church full of
- 5:04people who have received from God and want to help
- 5:08people find a healthier place than they're at
- 5:12right now. And we're all people
- 5:15that have received from the Lord and are looking for
- 5:19people that need to know that God is for them.
- 5:24When the world spins by the
- 5:27home, remember
- 5:31that you belong.
- 5:41Thing you ever dreamed came true.
- 5:46When you laugh and you cry, I'll be
- 5:50always on your side, and thank God
- 5:54for you and me.
- 6:06When we're older, we were saved.
- 6:23And everything that you do take hard.
- 6:31You are strong. You are brave. You are all
- 6:35you meant to be. Everything you ever
- 6:38dreamed came true.
- 6:49For you and me.
- 6:56Thank God for you and me.
