- 0:01Speaker 1: And then something happened to him over a fairly short
- 0:04Speaker 1: period of time. Looks like he was radicalized over the internet,
- 0:07Speaker 1: and it's radicalized on the left. He's a left, a
- 0:10Speaker 1: lot of problems with the left, and they get protected
- 0:13Speaker 1: and they shouldn't be protected. But as you understand, I
- 0:16Speaker 1: think very well from the Tony new question.
- 0:18Speaker 2: If you're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with
- 0:21Speaker 2: Ben ferguson.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning, it's so nice to have you with
- 0:25Speaker 3: us on the forty seven Morning Update. And we've got
- 0:27Speaker 3: one big story and it involves law enforcement, the FBI
- 0:31Speaker 3: looking into individuals who appeared to have known about Charlie
- 0:35Speaker 3: Kirk's assassination beforehand. And we also have new DNA evidence
- 0:40Speaker 3: tying the shooter to the crime scene. All right, I
- 0:44Speaker 3: want to take a moment and I want to talk
- 0:45Speaker 3: to you real quick about what you can do to
- 0:48Speaker 3: help the people in Israel. It was nearly two years
- 0:52Speaker 3: ago that the terrorists murdered more than twelve hundred innocent
- 0:56Speaker 3: Israelis and they took two hundred and fifty hostages. Today,
- 1:00Speaker 3: it seems as if the cries of the dead and
- 1:03Speaker 3: dying have been drowned out by the shouts of anti
- 1:05Speaker 3: Semitism and just pure hatred, not just in America but
- 1:08Speaker 3: around the world. And the most brutal attack on Jewish
- 1:11Speaker 3: people happened. It happened since the Holocausts, and now it's
- 1:16Speaker 3: like they're trying to act like it never happened. Now,
- 1:19Speaker 3: this is where it is important for us to stand
- 1:22Speaker 3: with the people in Israel. It's a movement of love
- 1:25Speaker 3: and support for the people of Israel, and this is
- 1:29Speaker 3: where I want you to get involved. It is called
- 1:31Speaker 3: Flags of Fellowship. It's being organized by the International Fellowship
- 1:36Speaker 3: of Christians and Jews. On October fifth, you can stand
- 1:41Speaker 3: with Israel and the victims proudly. Just a few weeks away,
- 1:46Speaker 3: millions across America will prayerfully plant an Israeli flag in
- 1:50Speaker 3: honor and solidarity with the victims of October the seventh,
- 1:54Speaker 3: twenty twenty three, and stand with their grieving families. Can
- 1:59Speaker 3: be a part of this movement as well. And that's
- 2:02Speaker 3: what I love about what IFCJ does. They're making sure
- 2:06Speaker 3: that the world knows there are lots of people of
- 2:09Speaker 3: faith in this country and friends and advocates for Israel.
- 2:13Speaker 3: They're going to stand with them. You can get more
- 2:15Speaker 3: information about how you can join the Flags of Fellowship movement,
- 2:19Speaker 3: including your church. There are going to be countless churches
- 2:23Speaker 3: around the country. They're going to plant flags as well.
- 2:26Speaker 3: So all you have to do to get involved with
- 2:28Speaker 3: Flags of Fellowship movement is go to IFCJ dot org.
- 2:33Speaker 3: That's IFCJ dot org. Stand with Israel on October the fifth,
- 2:38Speaker 3: it's just a few weeks away. And if your church
- 2:41Speaker 3: you think would want to be involved, you can also
- 2:43Speaker 3: find out more about how to get your church to
- 2:45Speaker 3: be involved on a special Sunday at IFCJ dot org.
- 2:49Speaker 3: That's if CJ dot org. It's the forty seven Morning
- 2:54Speaker 3: Update and it starts right now. Story number one FBI
- 2:58Speaker 3: Deputy Director Dan Bonngino coming out telling Fox News that
- 3:02Speaker 3: there appears to have been multiple warning signs that pointed
- 3:07Speaker 3: to the suspect in Charlie Kirk's assassination prior to that
- 3:11Speaker 3: shooting taking place. Speaking to Bill Himmer, Bongino said, not
- 3:16Speaker 3: only does there appear to have been multiple warning signs,
- 3:19Speaker 3: but there were people in the suspect's network, friends and
- 3:23Speaker 3: family who had stated that he become more political. He
- 3:27Speaker 3: went on to say, I believe some of his co
- 3:29Speaker 3: workers said that he had kind of detached himself when
- 3:32Speaker 3: the topic of politics came up and walked away from them.
- 3:36Speaker 3: He added that it seems ideology had infected him and
- 3:41Speaker 3: had taken over. I want you to hear more of
- 3:43Speaker 3: what the FBI Deputy director had to say on Fox
- 3:47Speaker 3: about what we know about him, how we were able
- 3:49Speaker 3: to track him, the forensic that were involved. Listen carefully
- 3:54Speaker 3: to what he had to say.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Okay, after he fired that single fatal shot, we've got
- 3:58Speaker 4: the video of him jumping off the back side of
- 4:01Speaker 4: the building. Where is the gun when he drops fifteen
- 4:05Speaker 4: feet down to the grass below.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Well, if you look at the video, the gun is
- 4:10Speaker 5: you'll see in the back of the when you watch
- 4:12Speaker 5: in the video right there, it appears from the video
- 4:17Speaker 5: here that the gun is either in the backpack or
- 4:20Speaker 5: on him when he jumps down. This is where, by
- 4:22Speaker 5: the way, this part of the video, this is where
- 4:25Speaker 5: we got a significant portion of the forensic evidence in
- 4:29Speaker 5: the case which we had to expedite. We had a
- 4:32Speaker 5: number of assets, including fixed wing assets, to be able
- 4:36Speaker 5: to fly if obviously Salt Lake and that specific area
- 4:39Speaker 5: in Provo is not around the corner from FBI labs.
- 4:42Speaker 4: It was difficult, but.
- 4:43Speaker 5: We were able during that scene him grabbing that particular
- 4:47Speaker 5: side of the building and jumping down, we were able
- 4:49Speaker 5: to gather a significant amount of forensic information which we
- 4:52Speaker 5: expedited back to the lab, which was the key, I
- 4:56Speaker 5: think piece of information that we were able to crack
- 4:58Speaker 5: this thing open.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Oka. Looking at that video, it's hard to see the
- 5:02Speaker 4: weapon and that's why the question is still obvious to
- 5:05Speaker 4: me today. Cash Bettel said earlier today that he expressed
- 5:11Speaker 4: to someone that he had an opportunity to take out
- 5:14Speaker 4: the killer and was going to do it. Did that
- 5:17Speaker 4: person do anything with that information?
- 5:21Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what we're really disturbed about. It appears that
- 5:26Speaker 5: this was communicated. You see this a lot, Bill, when
- 5:30Speaker 5: in targeted violence cases, assassination, school shootings, where the individual
- 5:35Speaker 5: expresses in advance, in a good swath of these cases
- 5:38Speaker 5: his desire or her desire to do these specific things.
- 5:43Speaker 5: That appears to be the case here as well. Where
- 5:46Speaker 5: the intent component was there in advance and the target
- 5:50Speaker 5: was was the target was announced in advance prior. Now
- 5:56Speaker 5: that's the part we want to know where they did
- 5:58Speaker 5: they know and not say they Now, Bill, you have
- 6:01Speaker 5: to keep in mind, I don't want anyone to jump
- 6:03Speaker 5: to conclusions on this. Did they say it, hear it
- 6:06Speaker 5: and think it was some kind of a joke. That's
- 6:09Speaker 5: what we're trying to find out now. But I promise you,
- 6:11Speaker 5: if there's a larger network here, we're going to get
- 6:14Speaker 5: that out to the public as soon as we can.
- 6:16Speaker 4: We really are, Okay. The reason why this is really
- 6:19Speaker 4: important to your investigation understanding motive that I'll get to
- 6:23Speaker 4: in a moment here is that I believe that if
- 6:28Speaker 4: I've got the dates right here, that that event was
- 6:30Speaker 4: announced one week before it happened, and we've got the
- 6:33Speaker 4: reporting from over the weekend that said that the killer,
- 6:37Speaker 4: the accused killer now expressed views with his family at
- 6:42Speaker 4: a dinner table, and I don't know what the timeline
- 6:46Speaker 4: is between when that happened. Was it hours or was
- 6:49Speaker 4: it days? I mean, clearly it had to be at
- 6:51Speaker 4: least a couple of days, if not less. And if
- 6:53Speaker 4: he also expressed this opinion that he had an opportunity
- 6:58Speaker 4: to take our Kirk and was going to do it, well,
- 7:00Speaker 4: when was that message transmitted from this point that Charlie
- 7:04Speaker 4: was killed.
- 7:05Speaker 5: This is the troubling part of the investigation. As I
- 7:07Speaker 5: see it now, there appeared to have been multiple warning
- 7:10Speaker 5: signs you just laid out some of them. There were
- 7:13Speaker 5: people in his network, friends and family who had stated
- 7:18Speaker 5: that he had become more political, that he had become
- 7:22Speaker 5: at some parts. I believe some of his coworkers had
- 7:25Speaker 5: stated that he had kind of detached himself when the
- 7:29Speaker 5: topic of politics came up and walked away from them.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Family members said he'd become more political, leading us to
- 7:35Speaker 5: believe that this ideology had infected him and had taken over,
- 7:41Speaker 5: and he was just intent. It appears from the data
- 7:44Speaker 5: we've accumulated and the channel and that note, which we
- 7:49Speaker 5: have some evidence may have existed before based on the
- 7:53Speaker 5: communications in that channel, that his target was obviously going
- 7:57Speaker 5: to be Charlie, and that people knew in advance. The
- 7:59Speaker 5: question is again, and I which want to go back
- 8:00Speaker 5: to what you had asked before. Did they know where
- 8:03Speaker 5: they sure this or did they hear this and just
- 8:06Speaker 5: write it off. That's what we're going to have to
- 8:08Speaker 5: find out, and that's what we're investigating now. Bill. This
- 8:12Speaker 5: investigation has just begun. This isn't even the beginning of
- 8:16Speaker 5: the beginning. You know, Yes, we have a subject in custody.
- 8:19Speaker 5: You know, everybody's innocent toal proven guilty in our constitutional republic. However,
- 8:23Speaker 5: this is not done by any stretch. Our men and
- 8:26Speaker 5: women out there in the Bureau have worked tirelessly all week.
- 8:29Speaker 5: And I just got back to DC last night, and
- 8:33Speaker 5: you know, Kash and I were out there on the scene.
- 8:36Speaker 5: We walked the scene, We went through every single component
- 8:39Speaker 5: of it. We saw the evidence up close and personal,
- 8:41Speaker 5: and we went out there to be able to make
- 8:43Speaker 5: command decisions with our team on the ground. And I
- 8:47Speaker 5: think the process, although not perfect, of course, I think
- 8:50Speaker 5: the process went pretty well considered. We got him in
- 8:54Speaker 5: thirty thirty three.
- 8:55Speaker 3: You listen to Bongino there, and I think were the
- 8:58Speaker 3: things that he's also talking about is is there accountability
- 9:01Speaker 3: for those that knew or may have known what was
- 9:04Speaker 3: happening here? You go back to that key phrase. I
- 9:07Speaker 3: believe some of his coworkers say that he had kind
- 9:09Speaker 3: of attached himself. And then you move from there. He
- 9:13Speaker 3: referenced the note that Robinson allegedly left behind, pointing that
- 9:16Speaker 3: out out that it may have existed quote before, based
- 9:20Speaker 3: on communications law enforcement has recovered. He indicated the totality
- 9:26Speaker 3: of everything and makes it clear that quote his target
- 9:29Speaker 3: was obviously going to be Charlie Kirk, and that the
- 9:33Speaker 3: people around him knew that that was going to be
- 9:36Speaker 3: his target in advance. So where do you go from here?
- 9:41Speaker 3: What Bongino said is the investigators are now having to
- 9:44Speaker 3: look at this. Did they know, were they sure of this,
- 9:47Speaker 3: or did they hear this and just write it off.
- 9:50Speaker 3: You put all of this together, and then you put
- 9:52Speaker 3: it back to the Utah Governor Spencer Cox indication that
- 9:56Speaker 3: Charlie Kirk's legislation quote had not only left leaning political beliefs,
- 10:01Speaker 3: but clearly disliked Charlie Kirk and was telling people that.
- 10:06Speaker 3: So I have to say, there needs to be some
- 10:09Speaker 3: sort of accountability. There has to be some sort of
- 10:13Speaker 3: obviously very good and in depth investigation. What we also
- 10:19Speaker 3: know is there's no doubt that this is the guy.
- 10:21Speaker 3: The FBI confirming the DNA found at the scene of
- 10:24Speaker 3: Charlie kirk'sastination's hiding spot matches the suspect and apparently he
- 10:29Speaker 3: had confessed to his family and to some friends, including
- 10:32Speaker 3: in a chat room. And so with a confirmation now
- 10:36Speaker 3: that the DNA samples founded the spot where Charlie Kirk's
- 10:40Speaker 3: session hid positively matches suspect now in con custody. That
- 10:44Speaker 3: also is going to move us forward on another point,
- 10:47Speaker 3: and that is on the death penalty. Cashpittel saying this
- 10:51Speaker 3: on Fox and Friends about the DNA matching, and I.
- 10:55Speaker 6: Can report today that the DNA hits from the towel
- 10:59Speaker 6: that was rap around the firearm and the DNA on
- 11:02Speaker 6: the screwdriver are positively processed for the suspect in custody.
- 11:07Speaker 3: There it is Cashpattel telling you that not only did
- 11:11Speaker 3: these suspects tal that wrapped around the assassin's weapon match
- 11:15Speaker 3: the screwdriver left on the UVA rooftop, both matched the
- 11:18Speaker 3: suspect already in custody. This is incredible work, by the way,
- 11:22Speaker 3: by the men and women in law enforcement. Robinson, by
- 11:25Speaker 3: the way, also were a note saying declaring that he
- 11:28Speaker 3: had an opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and that
- 11:31Speaker 3: he was going to take it. Patel went on to
- 11:33Speaker 3: say as well, saying quote, we have since learned the note,
- 11:36Speaker 3: even though it was destroyed, we have found forensic evidence
- 11:39Speaker 3: of the note and we have confirmed that the said
- 11:42Speaker 3: what the note said. Because our aggressive interview posture at
- 11:44Speaker 3: the FBI. We also know that further DNA found on
- 11:48Speaker 3: the thirty caliber bolt action rifle with a scope believed
- 11:51Speaker 3: to have been used in the shooting is still being
- 11:54Speaker 3: analyzed to determine its links to Robinson as well. Patel
- 11:57Speaker 3: also confirmed that Robinson is still not co operating with investigators.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I got to say, I am very thankful for cash Hotel,
- 12:06Speaker 3: for Dan Bongino, for all of the men and women
- 12:08Speaker 3: in law enforcement that have been working on this case
- 12:10Speaker 3: at the local, state, at the federal level. What they
- 12:13Speaker 3: were able to do to find him, and what they've
- 12:15Speaker 3: been able to do to make it very clear he did.
- 12:18Speaker 3: What he did is incredible police work. God bless him
- 12:22Speaker 3: for what they're doing. And God blessed Donald Trump, by
- 12:24Speaker 3: the way, for making sure that he picked the right
- 12:28Speaker 3: people for these jobs.
