- 0:00Speaker 1: My next guest is one of those people who lives
- 0:02Speaker 1: an incredibly busy life and balanced, because I'm gonna start
- 0:05Speaker 1: off with her first critic. She's a mom, and she's
- 0:08Speaker 1: a proud mom, and she talks about her self of
- 0:10Speaker 1: being a proud mom weekly on the tom Join, the
- 0:13Speaker 1: nationally syndicated morning show. She's also an incredibly busy actress
- 0:17Speaker 1: and I've known her all the way back to the
- 0:19Speaker 1: Jamie Fox days. That's all the way back as years
- 0:22Speaker 1: ago when we were first mad. She's she's just just
- 0:25Speaker 1: just blossoming that. It's an incredible comedic actress. She's a
- 0:28Speaker 1: TV host, a game show host, she's a comedian, she's
- 0:32Speaker 1: an entrepreneur and bestselling author. She is now starting in
- 0:35Speaker 1: the new movie Brian Banks, which I saw and it's
- 0:39Speaker 1: highly recommending everybody to see run to the theaters right
- 0:42Speaker 1: now to see that movie. But she would also be
- 0:44Speaker 1: talking about her other projects, the Netflix comedy series of Mr. Iglesias,
- 0:49Speaker 1: the game show Networks Best Ever Trivia, and she has
- 0:52Speaker 1: a new weight loss program called Healthy Wage. Please welcome
- 0:55Speaker 1: to Money Making Conversations. Good friend of mine, Sherry Shepherd,
- 1:00Speaker 1: Hey Rashan, how are you? How we first of all,
- 1:03Speaker 1: how do you have time to talk to me? You know,
- 1:07Speaker 1: I'm actually in a card driving to another location. You know,
- 1:13Speaker 1: it's really wonderful because you know, we've both seen ourselves
- 1:18Speaker 1: take changes in our careers, you know, and then and
- 1:21Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, you're you're kind of lost,
- 1:23Speaker 1: you kind of who am I? Because you get branded
- 1:25Speaker 1: to a certain brand and as all people know yourself,
- 1:28Speaker 1: you know you for and then all of a sudden
- 1:30Speaker 1: you have to look inside yourself to say what am
- 1:32Speaker 1: I capable of doing? You know, over the last three years,
- 1:35Speaker 1: That's what I've done, and I'm so blessed that I'm
- 1:37Speaker 1: in a position now to say that Rushan McDonald's a brand.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And now I look at you and you truly are
- 1:43Speaker 1: have developed into a brand? Can you tell our listeners
- 1:46Speaker 1: just in some ways? How are you able to make
- 1:49Speaker 1: a transition to be able to redefine who Sherry Shepherd is? Um?
- 1:55Speaker 1: You know, I think it's about taking risks. I think
- 1:57Speaker 1: that's what I admire about you, because you do you
- 2:00Speaker 1: get so locked into a certain brand or a certain
- 2:03Speaker 1: way people you know, they see you and and that's
- 2:06Speaker 1: all they see. And you have to you have to
- 2:09Speaker 1: be willing to take a risk and be fearless to
- 2:12Speaker 1: a certain point so that they can see a different
- 2:15Speaker 1: side of you. And so for me, so I wouldn't
- 2:18Speaker 1: get locked into one thing. I always would do things
- 2:21Speaker 1: that scared me, such as, you know, I've never done radio,
- 2:24Speaker 1: but unless I've been a guest. So when you know,
- 2:27Speaker 1: Tom Joyner offered me a regular spot on his morning show.
- 2:32Speaker 1: It wasn't something I had done before, but I said,
- 2:34Speaker 1: let me try it. And you know, I was joined
- 2:37Speaker 1: by Kim Witley and what our segment is the most
- 2:40Speaker 1: popular for the last four years running, so we and
- 2:43Speaker 1: they added a second day to as being co host
- 2:46Speaker 1: on Tom joined his radio show. So that was a
- 2:49Speaker 1: different side of me that people got to see. Hosting
- 2:52Speaker 1: a game show is a different side of me that
- 2:55Speaker 1: people got to see. But it required me to say, Okay,
- 2:57Speaker 1: I've never hosted before, but let me try it. So
- 3:01Speaker 1: I think it's and even in this movie Brian Bank,
- 3:03Speaker 1: since my first dramatic lead in a big film. So
- 3:07Speaker 1: it require you know, stepping out of my comfort zone
- 3:10Speaker 1: and saying, let me try something else so somebody can
- 3:13Speaker 1: see a different side. I think, unless you you know,
- 3:17Speaker 1: commit to taking a risk it might not happen as fast.
- 3:22Speaker 1: We know the thing about it, because, um, first of all,
- 3:24Speaker 1: let's let's go back to this. This a single mom
- 3:28Speaker 1: segment that you've developed and have developed and moved to
- 3:31Speaker 1: him with a good friend of mine. It's with a
- 3:33Speaker 1: good friend of yours. Um, now that could be a podcast.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You know, you know, you know, Sean, I see beyond
- 3:39Speaker 1: you know, because we all know that Thomas retiring from
- 3:42Speaker 1: radio at the end of this year. So now you
- 3:44Speaker 1: have to realize that that brand that you two have developed. Uh,
- 3:47Speaker 1: if you if you need to talk to ro Sean
- 3:49Speaker 1: about setting up some sales opportunities brandhide the podcast opportunities,
- 3:54Speaker 1: please do because that is a market you guys cannot
- 3:56Speaker 1: walk away though that show ends your that whole brand
- 4:00Speaker 1: is going to develop in This is amazing. I'm sure
- 4:01Speaker 1: you're already thinking that way because you're busy and you
- 4:03Speaker 1: all you think about making money now day. So know
- 4:05Speaker 1: that when I talk to the journal public, know that
- 4:08Speaker 1: that format that they've created you are either here in
- 4:10Speaker 1: their own syndicated show or you will hear it in
- 4:13Speaker 1: the podcast in the future. Okay, So let's talk about
- 4:17Speaker 1: this series and all the time. Let's talk about this series.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I read it to a couple of weeks ago at
- 4:22Speaker 1: the Holly Rod Foundations, so I missed you. I need
- 4:26Speaker 1: to talk to you. I got somebody thinks somebody's happening.
- 4:28Speaker 1: So I'm sure you and I had all three of
- 4:30Speaker 1: us will get together here in the near future to
- 4:32Speaker 1: just just talk about the opportunity, because we're all friends,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and we all are constantly making transitions in this business.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Because sometimes this business doesn't offer any guarantees. And I
- 4:41Speaker 1: see the business entertainment. Entertainment is something you really don't
- 4:46Speaker 1: far as security, and you see the opportunity, but the
- 4:48Speaker 1: opportunity doesn't always mean it's secure. And so let's talk
- 4:51Speaker 1: about your dramatic acting. Road I saw the movie Brian
- 4:54Speaker 1: Banks him. Let's talk about you know, Octavia spent some
- 4:58Speaker 1: moments he was happening in the series. You know when
- 5:00Speaker 1: they came out, when they came to the house and
- 5:03Speaker 1: took your boy to jail. Yes, let me talk to
- 5:09Speaker 1: you about this, Okay, you comedic actress. Okay, Yeah, making
- 5:13Speaker 1: a shift to a dramatic because you you have to
- 5:16Speaker 1: be dramatic this whole time. You know that, you know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: being that she's funny she's able to um as a
- 5:21Speaker 1: couple of moments where you do chuckle because she reaction
- 5:24Speaker 1: just as a gifted comedic actress. But but, but how
- 5:28Speaker 1: did you come to this role and how did you
- 5:31Speaker 1: make the decision? This is what I want to do.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I read the script and I said to my agent,
- 5:38Speaker 1: I mean I just locked into Leaomi, who played Brian
- 5:40Speaker 1: Banks's mother and her face her love for her son.
- 5:44Speaker 1: At the time, my son, Jeffrey was twelve, and I
- 5:46Speaker 1: said he could be Brian Banks. And I said to
- 5:49Speaker 1: my agent, I have to get this audition, like I
- 5:51Speaker 1: have to do it. And what worked against me where
- 5:55Speaker 1: they really weren't as interested in seeing me, was because
- 5:58Speaker 1: I have a comedic background. That's what people know me
- 6:01Speaker 1: for is making them laugh. And this was a very
- 6:03Speaker 1: heavy um dramatic movie. And so I had really had
- 6:07Speaker 1: to fight and my agent had to fight to get
- 6:10Speaker 1: me in. And they had other names that they were mentioning.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You say Octavia, but they were they They wanted Viola Davis.
- 6:16Speaker 1: That was the first choice. The second choice was Octavia
- 6:20Speaker 1: Jada Pinkett. Uh they said, halle Berry, I'm nu ellis
- 6:24Speaker 1: who is being nominated for When they see us. These
- 6:27Speaker 1: are all beasts in the dramatic world, and so it was, um,
- 6:33Speaker 1: it was it was that pressure as well. But you know,
- 6:35Speaker 1: you have to keep if that's the dream, you have
- 6:38Speaker 1: to keep going forward. And I heap. My agent finally
- 6:41Speaker 1: got me an audition and I'll never forget the Chassi
- 6:44Speaker 1: director said, we've expanded the part of the mother and
- 6:48Speaker 1: I said, oh my gosh, that's great, and she said,
- 6:50Speaker 1: because we're trying to get Viola Davis. Do you know
- 6:52Speaker 1: what pressure that is? Right before you your auditions. They're
- 6:55Speaker 1: trying to get Viola and now again when you're ready.
- 6:59Speaker 1: So and that's where I had to remember, literally in
- 7:03Speaker 1: that audition, because I almost got deflated when I heard
- 7:06Speaker 1: them say that they wanted Violet Davis. It almost sent
- 7:08Speaker 1: me like I can't do this. I'm not even worthy.
- 7:10Speaker 1: And I had to remember, Sherry, you're bringing something you,
- 7:13Speaker 1: This is you, me, is you. You have a son
- 7:17Speaker 1: who could be Brian Banks. What would it be like
- 7:19Speaker 1: if they took Jeffrey from you? And that's when I
- 7:22Speaker 1: started doing my line. So that was all up underneath me.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I mean, I'm gonna tell y'all felt against the wall,
- 7:28Speaker 1: sliding down the wall, I was crying. I was screaming.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I think I scaredly of Daniel's Butler's Lee, Daniel's sister,
- 7:35Speaker 1: who casted the movie. It was so emotional the audition
- 7:38Speaker 1: that when I got into the elevator I still was
- 7:40Speaker 1: in a fetal position because I went there and because
- 7:43Speaker 1: I said, you know what they want Viola. I got
- 7:45Speaker 1: nothing to lose, but let me just let me just
- 7:48Speaker 1: go and do what I do, because it's nothing like Viola.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And um. I didn't hear from the people for a
- 7:55Speaker 1: few weeks, so I didn't think I got it, but
- 7:57Speaker 1: I knew I left everything on the table bowl and
- 8:00Speaker 1: that's why I think you gotta leave everything on the
- 8:01Speaker 1: table and go for it. And Tom Shatti ac Uh
- 8:06Speaker 1: just this kidsman. He wrote The Nutti Professor, and he's
- 8:09Speaker 1: directed Eddie Murphy and tons of movies. He's directed Jim
- 8:12Speaker 1: Carrey in a lot of movies, and so he was
- 8:15Speaker 1: used to working with stand up comics. So I had
- 8:18Speaker 1: a few FaceTime auditions with Tom, and I knew that
- 8:22Speaker 1: I had gotten a job. When Tom said I had
- 8:25Speaker 1: to sit on Eddie and I had to sit on Jim.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna have to sit on you too.
- 8:30Speaker 1: And when I say sitting on people, it's sitting on
- 8:33Speaker 1: the comedic, bringing down the comedy and bringing up the
- 8:37Speaker 1: other side, the pain side. And you know from working
- 8:41Speaker 1: with stand up comics are your life. We bring to
- 8:43Speaker 1: the stage is pain. You take pain and you make
- 8:47Speaker 1: it funny. So Tom Shattyac was able to take the
- 8:52Speaker 1: funny side of Sherry and put it away and then
- 8:55Speaker 1: all that was left was the pain. And so he
- 8:58Speaker 1: was able to bring that out. And I'm and you know,
- 9:01Speaker 1: it only takes one person to believe in you, to
- 9:05Speaker 1: say to make it happen, and he was that one
- 9:07Speaker 1: person for me that said, I think she can go beyond.
- 9:12Speaker 1: And that's that's important that you say that, because you know,
- 9:15Speaker 1: when you get, when you get, you know, a lot
- 9:17Speaker 1: of your early success was tied to the view. A
- 9:19Speaker 1: lot of my success you look at my resume is
- 9:21Speaker 1: tied to Steve Harker. And a lot of people will
- 9:24Speaker 1: compliment you the on you great, great, but you know
- 9:27Speaker 1: something you great in that lane. But being out now
- 9:29Speaker 1: the fact that you're doing I'm tay and Brian Banks.
- 9:33Speaker 1: This Brian Banks movie is about it incocerated young man
- 9:36Speaker 1: who's wrong for the in consperrated sixty years old with
- 9:38Speaker 1: false accused of rate and spend sixty years of his life.
- 9:42Speaker 1: He's a very he's a football player, I mean not
- 9:45Speaker 1: just a football player, five star football player. So probably
- 9:48Speaker 1: headed to USC probably would be in the pros because
- 9:51Speaker 1: I won't give away any of the movie because guess
- 9:53Speaker 1: what you got to see the movie realized that through determination,
- 9:57Speaker 1: through um having the right support system. Mom was the
- 10:01Speaker 1: key to that, and also the legal system and the
- 10:04Speaker 1: legal representatives came in and gave him the support system.
- 10:07Speaker 1: But it's a constant battle. And when her character as
- 10:10Speaker 1: as as she says, this is not you know, just
- 10:13Speaker 1: like no different than Kevin Hard doing his his it's
- 10:16Speaker 1: a dramatic role that he did that everybody's portioning that
- 10:18Speaker 1: that move went to a hundred million dollars. Okay, and
- 10:21Speaker 1: this is your time to say I can do more.
- 10:23Speaker 1: And that's what I love about your resume that I
- 10:26Speaker 1: currently see out there. I see an entrepreneur, I see
- 10:29Speaker 1: a mom, I see a radio person. Now I see
- 10:32Speaker 1: drama and that is beautiful because that lets me know
- 10:35Speaker 1: that your three sixty and I forgot also best selling author. Okay,
- 10:40Speaker 1: that's the three sixty radio print, digital, social media influencer.
- 10:45Speaker 1: When when I when I throw all these accodes at you,
- 10:48Speaker 1: how how do you respond to that that you are
- 10:50Speaker 1: achieving and currently being blessed with. I am very thankful
- 10:55Speaker 1: that people, uh still want to work with me. I
- 10:58Speaker 1: think that speaks to character and integrity, um, which is
- 11:02Speaker 1: crucial in this business. And UM, thankful that my you
- 11:07Speaker 1: know that I have a reputation that's pretty solid where
- 11:10Speaker 1: people say I would like to take a chance with
- 11:12Speaker 1: her because I've heard about you know a lot of times.
- 11:15Speaker 1: It's not who I've met, it's what they've heard about me.
- 11:18Speaker 1: And UM, so I'm really thankful that. I'm very thankful
- 11:21Speaker 1: that people still want to work with me, that they
- 11:23Speaker 1: still want to interview me. You know that I'm still relevant,
- 11:27Speaker 1: And I think it's from doing so many different things
- 11:29Speaker 1: and branching out saying yes two different experiences. So you know, UM,
- 11:35Speaker 1: I'm just thankful and very approachable. By the way, if
- 11:39Speaker 1: you see her in public, she would do a selfie
- 11:41Speaker 1: with you. She's amazing. We'll be back with more of
- 11:43Speaker 1: it because I got three more projects I gotta talk
- 11:45Speaker 1: to you about. In regard to the new sitcom, the
- 11:48Speaker 1: new Game show back with more Sherry Shepard. I just
- 11:53Speaker 1: Reashart McDonald and I'm talking to a friend, a long
- 11:57Speaker 1: time friend of this business who's when you know, when
- 11:59Speaker 1: you start out in the business, used one an opportunity.
- 12:02Speaker 1: In order to have longevity, you have to take the
- 12:04Speaker 1: opportunity and show the value of how you maintain relationships
- 12:08Speaker 1: and in this business, whether it's professional or entrepreneurs, share
- 12:11Speaker 1: for entertainment or social relationships guide you to the next opportunity.
- 12:15Speaker 1: When I say that people recommend, people tell you she's
- 12:19Speaker 1: easy to work with. Not only she's talented, but she
- 12:21Speaker 1: would deliver. This young lady has delivered at every level.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Now she's delivering in a very dramatic role that she's
- 12:28Speaker 1: playing in the Brian Banks movie. There's a there's outstanding
- 12:31Speaker 1: to definitely be just as a first role as a
- 12:34Speaker 1: just a dramatic actress. But now we got to talk
- 12:36Speaker 1: about what I know of for what you know her for.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You know, she's commedied. She's commedian, as they say, a comedian.
- 12:44Speaker 1: She's started in a new series on Netflix called Mr. Iglesias.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I saw a clip of it and I was, as
- 12:51Speaker 1: usual laughing, So give us a give us a little
- 12:53Speaker 1: history of this relationship. God, they've billions of dollars through
- 13:00Speaker 1: global subscribers. Um, it is the same kind of quality. Definitely,
- 13:05Speaker 1: it's the same kind of quality as a as a
- 13:08Speaker 1: major network. So what is your character in this show? Mr.
- 13:11Speaker 1: E Glesias, which his own Netflix. It is Fluffy, the
- 13:16Speaker 1: comic everybody knows in the fluffiest stand up comics. He's
- 13:19Speaker 1: the top. He's the number six top touring comic in
- 13:23Speaker 1: the world. He makes twenty he makes twenty and a
- 13:27Speaker 1: half million dollars. Rashan as the stand up comic, and
- 13:30Speaker 1: so he got a deal. He's done for Netflix specials,
- 13:33Speaker 1: comedy specials. So they give him a sitcom and it's
- 13:36Speaker 1: kind of He plays a high school history teacher and
- 13:39Speaker 1: I am one of his best friends. I'm the principal
- 13:42Speaker 1: of the high school. My personal life is in shambles,
- 13:45Speaker 1: but I'm very good at my job. So he's got
- 13:48Speaker 1: to deal with a lot of my craziness at the school.
- 13:50Speaker 1: So it's just like an old fashioned family sitcom. Absolutely,
- 13:54Speaker 1: let's star. Let's talk about this guy you just mentioned,
- 13:56Speaker 1: just twenty million dollar plus now, you know in the
- 13:59Speaker 1: stand up business. You know, he hispanic audience. It was
- 14:03Speaker 1: his base he started, you know, he just you know,
- 14:06Speaker 1: you just started our you know, Paula Reguez and George
- 14:10Speaker 1: Lopez say, he's George Lopez ten times as far as audience,
- 14:15Speaker 1: and that's no negative to George Lopez. George Lopez is
- 14:17Speaker 1: philling arenas out there. But this guy will become a
- 14:20Speaker 1: global phenomenon and he constantly comes up with new material.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Like she said, all these Netflix specials not include other
- 14:27Speaker 1: specials he's done. And so now to be able to
- 14:30Speaker 1: walk into this world of being a sitcom this is
- 14:33Speaker 1: what you do. Okay, we know he's funny. Uh do
- 14:37Speaker 1: you have any mentoring roles or you guys discussed and
- 14:39Speaker 1: how you run your lines because of the fact you've
- 14:41Speaker 1: done so many sitcoms with him, you will still you know,
- 14:46Speaker 1: I love working with Gabe. You know. He he offered
- 14:48Speaker 1: me the role because he trusted that I could handle
- 14:52Speaker 1: the material. And as a matter of fact, we just
- 14:54Speaker 1: got renewed and he is going to expand my role
- 14:58Speaker 1: because you know, he knows that I can handle materials.
- 15:01Speaker 1: So he's I love him because he's not insecure. So
- 15:05Speaker 1: he allows people who are good at what they do
- 15:08Speaker 1: to be on the show with him, and he then
- 15:10Speaker 1: he can just shine as a stand up comic, you know,
- 15:12Speaker 1: and he can just go. So it's it's it's really
- 15:15Speaker 1: I love working on the show because he's getting back
- 15:17Speaker 1: to the multi camera sitcom and that's why I can
- 15:20Speaker 1: go and you know, get get the laugh on in
- 15:22Speaker 1: front of the crowd, and it's a it's a lot
- 15:25Speaker 1: of fun. But how you do use somebody to go
- 15:26Speaker 1: over my lines with me? Because I'm doing so much
- 15:28Speaker 1: stuff absolutely, you know, because the fact that you're multitasking,
- 15:32Speaker 1: your multi your multi level of your conglomerates, You're doing
- 15:36Speaker 1: so many things like, for instance, this new game show
- 15:38Speaker 1: called the Best Ever Trivia Shows on the Game Show
- 15:43Speaker 1: Network another network, listen to me movie theaters. Okay. Also,
- 15:47Speaker 1: by the way, she's on ABC, the Anthony Andrews Show.
- 15:50Speaker 1: She's just she's she's a recurring guest on that show.
- 15:53Speaker 1: You know's just throwing out how busy she is. You know,
- 15:56Speaker 1: I wanted to tell you very interesting about when I say,
- 15:59Speaker 1: you know, your reputen ation will procede you. I got
- 16:02Speaker 1: the Game show Best every trivia show it's on the
- 16:04Speaker 1: Game Show Networker comes on every day at four o'clock.
- 16:07Speaker 1: And this was because I did a favorite for a friend,
- 16:11Speaker 1: Caroline Ray. She has a show Game Show Network, and
- 16:13Speaker 1: she she called me and and she said, can you
- 16:16Speaker 1: just come in and be on my talk show? Now?
- 16:19Speaker 1: All of my teams said no, because it's not paying
- 16:21Speaker 1: enough money. Why you want to do it? Nobody's watching.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Sometimes you just have to do things for a friend
- 16:27Speaker 1: because you want to do it because you're trying to
- 16:29Speaker 1: help them out. And I went on this show. You know,
- 16:32Speaker 1: it took all day, but it was doing it for
- 16:34Speaker 1: my friend. And it just so happened that all of
- 16:36Speaker 1: the executives from the Game show Network we're there and
- 16:40Speaker 1: they said, we just saw you had so much joy.
- 16:43Speaker 1: You came in, you were bubbly, you were joyful, and
- 16:45Speaker 1: when we put together this game show, you were the
- 16:48Speaker 1: first person we thought about. So sometimes you're doing you know,
- 16:52Speaker 1: everything is not for the money. You do it just
- 16:55Speaker 1: because you want to help somebody out. And you go
- 16:58Speaker 1: in and it just you go in with a great
- 17:01Speaker 1: attitude because I couldn't win in It was like, you know,
- 17:03Speaker 1: this show is stupid, you don't pay no money. I'm
- 17:06Speaker 1: just doing the first You're going because you got a
- 17:09Speaker 1: chance to do something that you love. And that's the
- 17:11Speaker 1: one thing that they noticed and they said, would you
- 17:13Speaker 1: They offered me the game show, would you do it?
- 17:15Speaker 1: Because we just love your personality and we think you'd
- 17:19Speaker 1: be great an opportunity that people say, don't even do well?
- 17:23Speaker 1: You know that that that's what I always tell people.
- 17:25Speaker 1: You can't play in your life based on money. You're
- 17:27Speaker 1: playing your life based on an opportunity, and you in
- 17:30Speaker 1: an opportunity. You went in and was cherry because one
- 17:33Speaker 1: thing I know about her, she get if you see
- 17:35Speaker 1: her in public, that energy is right there. You know,
- 17:38Speaker 1: you know, we all know that. As a comic. You know,
- 17:41Speaker 1: there's a dog side to all comic because where we
- 17:42Speaker 1: get our comedy from. We see we see life. Actually
- 17:46Speaker 1: comediens see too much of life and we and you
- 17:49Speaker 1: have to take the responsibility how you can twist that
- 17:51Speaker 1: and make it funny. That's a that's a task and
- 17:54Speaker 1: a lot of people don't understand. So when they see comedians,
- 17:56Speaker 1: especially funny commedian think they're always happy. No, no, no,
- 17:59Speaker 1: we're not always happen because we know because we're taking
- 18:02Speaker 1: in so much information and then we have to twist
- 18:04Speaker 1: that information logically and out here so we won't be angry.
- 18:08Speaker 1: In other words, it really a comedy for us, is
- 18:11Speaker 1: really like a release because we can jokingly tell things
- 18:14Speaker 1: that bother us to you and and then you react
- 18:17Speaker 1: to us in a laughing manner. But we really have
- 18:20Speaker 1: their vent. And so so let me explain to everybody
- 18:26Speaker 1: what the best ever trivia show is. It's three contestants
- 18:29Speaker 1: face off against three trivia experts. The winning player then
- 18:33Speaker 1: goes head to head in the final round against the
- 18:35Speaker 1: experts who performed the best over the course of the show,
- 18:39Speaker 1: the Ultimate Trivia Challenge. If the player gets more correct
- 18:42Speaker 1: answers than the expert, then the player wins ten thousand dollars,
- 18:46Speaker 1: along with the opportunity to come back and win up
- 18:49Speaker 1: to a grand toll of thirty thousand dollars, and takes
- 18:52Speaker 1: his or her spot in trivia history. Now what is trivia?
- 18:57Speaker 1: When you say, you know you have the family feud,
- 18:59Speaker 1: you have pretty all these shows out there, what exactly
- 19:02Speaker 1: will you say? Trivia? What? What? What? What? What? What
- 19:05Speaker 1: lanes of information are you trying to get to the
- 19:07Speaker 1: journal so we can just like, I mean, I think
- 19:10Speaker 1: trivia is like different. It's different, you know, pieces of
- 19:13Speaker 1: information about it. It's a little bit about everything, and
- 19:17Speaker 1: you know, it's a little bit about I mean just everything.
- 19:20Speaker 1: There's no specific question. It's like and if you're good
- 19:23Speaker 1: at you just know a little bit about everything, but
- 19:26Speaker 1: not a lot about nothing for you, you know. And
- 19:31Speaker 1: it's a really fun show because you get to face
- 19:33Speaker 1: off with experts that you've seen on Who Wants to
- 19:35Speaker 1: Be a Millionaire and you know Jeopardy. So it's a
- 19:39Speaker 1: chance for you to have fun and win a little
- 19:41Speaker 1: money on the side. And I'm there to just facilitate
- 19:45Speaker 1: it and make you feel comfortable because you people get
- 19:47Speaker 1: very nervous being on TV. So I'm there to just
- 19:49Speaker 1: have fun with you and be the host. Because I
- 19:52Speaker 1: don't know any of those trivia answers. I'm as fascinated
- 19:55Speaker 1: as the next person. How they come up with this stuff, well,
- 19:59Speaker 1: not only come up what they know it though they
- 20:01Speaker 1: know they Yeah, they're very knowledgeable, and they're very knowledgeable
- 20:05Speaker 1: these different experts in different fields. Now let's talk about
- 20:09Speaker 1: the entrepreneurship side of me, because I know him running
- 20:11Speaker 1: out the time you and they'd be end of the interview,
- 20:13Speaker 1: she said, Rishan, We're not we can just no way
- 20:15Speaker 1: we can talk about all these things. I'm up proof
- 20:17Speaker 1: for wrong, wrong I was, I was Sarah Shepard. You
- 20:22Speaker 1: have a partnership with this weight lost company called Healthy Wage.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Can we expound on that? Because I started I saw
- 20:29Speaker 1: you in Atlanta, you look beautiful, came out there with
- 20:31Speaker 1: that little white dress on and everything talking to her
- 20:33Speaker 1: share Hi everybody. Yeah, I'll be back after so tell
- 20:38Speaker 1: us about that, and how did you get involved with it? Well?
- 20:41Speaker 1: Healthy Wage camp came and wanted to partner with me
- 20:44Speaker 1: because I've been off sugar since March of two thousand eighteen,
- 20:47Speaker 1: when my son, Jeffrey said to me because I'm a
- 20:49Speaker 1: Type two diabetic and I was eating candy bar, and
- 20:52Speaker 1: he said, with urgency in his voice, he said, Mommy, mommy,
- 20:56Speaker 1: if you um die, who's gonna be my bodyguard? And
- 20:59Speaker 1: that has hit me so much that you know, I
- 21:02Speaker 1: have the son that is only thirteen years old. If
- 21:05Speaker 1: something happens to me, who's gonna take care of him?
- 21:08Speaker 1: And it literally kept me full in the face. I
- 21:11Speaker 1: stopped eating sugar like right there. It was a rough
- 21:14Speaker 1: year of giving up sugar because I love everything that
- 21:17Speaker 1: has sugar in it. But I lost about twenty five
- 21:19Speaker 1: pounds and I gave up dairy, so I haven't been
- 21:22Speaker 1: on dairy, and um, people's already taking notice of my
- 21:26Speaker 1: weight loss, but it was more so about my commitment
- 21:28Speaker 1: to health. And Healthy Wage came and they said, well, wow,
- 21:31Speaker 1: we offer people money as an incentive to lose weight,
- 21:35Speaker 1: because sometimes, you know, you go to work and you
- 21:37Speaker 1: all have a bet who can lose the most weight
- 21:39Speaker 1: and you win money. Sometimes that's a really great incentive.
- 21:41Speaker 1: But what I liked about healthy wage was you had
- 21:44Speaker 1: to do it in six months. So if you're doing
- 21:47Speaker 1: something for six months, that's you're creating a habit. And
- 21:51Speaker 1: that's what I liked about healthy Wage. So you can
- 21:53Speaker 1: go to healthy wage dot com and bet on yourself
- 21:56Speaker 1: for six months to lose a certain amount of weight,
- 21:59Speaker 1: and you can lose it in six months, you will
- 22:01Speaker 1: win money. I'm even betting on myself to lose weight
- 22:05Speaker 1: because sometimes that gives you a jump start. And for me,
- 22:08Speaker 1: because I eat out all the time, I had gained
- 22:09Speaker 1: a couple of pounds. I said I want to lose
- 22:11Speaker 1: some weight, and because I have bet myself, I say, okay,
- 22:15Speaker 1: IM gonn go to the gym today and I'm gonna
- 22:17Speaker 1: do something different. But that's what I love about healthy ways.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It's just an intentive to win some money, and it's
- 22:23Speaker 1: fun and it's creating. It's like a lifestyle change because
- 22:28Speaker 1: I'm all about changing a lifestyle. When i went to
- 22:30Speaker 1: the doctor, they told me I wasn't even a diabetic
- 22:33Speaker 1: anymore because I had to stay off sugar for so long.
- 22:36Speaker 1: So I steel better, I have more energy. It's just
- 22:39Speaker 1: been great. Well, my friend, uh, you said I couldn't
- 22:43Speaker 1: do it a money made conversation. We deliver again. Congratulations.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Check out a new movie. Had first dramatic role Brian Banks.
- 22:51Speaker 1: But beyond that, he's a wonderful mom. You can hear
