- 1:24Speaker 5: You got to turn, got to turn the mouth, turn
- 1:43Speaker 5: you probably got to turn the mouth, turn out the money.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Come come on you'll think that. Uh huh, I sure
- 2:03Speaker 1: will come on and everybody, y'all listen to the voice.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Come on, dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey
- 2:10Speaker 1: got a radio show. Yep. Yeah. Sometimes all I can
- 2:17Speaker 1: say yelp, Man, how far I've come is really unbelievable.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But you know I finally figured it out. Man. God
- 2:27Speaker 1: allowed me to have the life I've had so that
- 2:32Speaker 1: I can become experienced at so many different things. And
- 2:37Speaker 1: in this experience, when I'm talking and sharing with people,
- 2:41Speaker 1: I will be able to relate to a lot of
- 2:43Speaker 1: different circumstances, not exact, but just the circumstances.
- 2:47Speaker 6: You know.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You know, if a person comes to me and they say, man,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I've been down and out, Okay, well I know what
- 2:52Speaker 1: that is. Man, I didn't I didn't have any direction, Okay,
- 2:56Speaker 1: got that been there, man at one point in time. Man,
- 3:00Speaker 1: I just kept piering mistake on top of mistake. Okay,
- 3:06Speaker 1: so you know U. I think what I'm trying to
- 3:09Speaker 1: say to everybody is when you're going through life and
- 3:13Speaker 1: life is dealing the cards that it deals, I want
- 3:17Speaker 1: you to understand that life deals everybody these cards. The
- 3:21Speaker 1: disappointment card, the setback card, the failure card, the mishap card,
- 3:30Speaker 1: the unexpected misery card. Everybody gonna get, the grief card,
- 3:36Speaker 1: everybody gonna get, the rash of bad decision card, everybody
- 3:40Speaker 1: gonna get them. Understand that going in that everybody is
- 3:46Speaker 1: gonna get these cards is how you play them, though,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you know, from time to time, one more time, it's
- 3:56Speaker 1: how you play them.
- 3:58Speaker 6: Uh you know.
- 3:58Speaker 1: From time to time when I'm watching TV, I love
- 4:01Speaker 1: to watch the World Series of Poker. I like watching
- 4:05Speaker 1: poker tournaments on TV because it's really weird. What's happened
- 4:11Speaker 1: to sport? To a poker they're actually trying to call
- 4:14Speaker 1: it a sport, you know, And as to everyday guy
- 4:18Speaker 1: that doesn't have to be athletically inclined to anything, who
- 4:21Speaker 1: has a shot of winning a title if they play
- 4:26Speaker 1: their cards right. The best poker players in the world
- 4:30Speaker 1: don't have the best hands. They just make the best plays.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I've seen guys win a hand with nine to two
- 4:40Speaker 1: in they hand that's nothing, and win their hand because
- 4:43Speaker 1: they knew the bluff, they knew the odds, they calculated risks,
- 4:49Speaker 1: they made the stakes higher than the other person was
- 4:53Speaker 1: willing to pay. They gave off the illusion that they
- 4:56Speaker 1: had something with in actuality, they had nothing. So what
- 5:02Speaker 1: I enjoy about poker and watching it is that these people,
- 5:06Speaker 1: these people here, play the hand they dealt and it
- 5:11Speaker 1: ain't always a good hand. But it ain't whether your
- 5:15Speaker 1: hand is good. And it ain't whether you're gonna get
- 5:17Speaker 1: dealt bad cards or not, because you're gonna get dealt
- 5:19Speaker 1: some bad cars. Everybody ain't finna get two bullets in
- 5:22Speaker 1: their hand. You ain't finna get two aces when you
- 5:24Speaker 1: get dealt. Uh. You know, when you playing draw poker,
- 5:27Speaker 1: some of your cards gonna be nothing, But you gotta
- 5:30Speaker 1: turn that nothing into something. So when you get dealt
- 5:33Speaker 1: these cards in life, it ain't the fact that you
- 5:35Speaker 1: getting to keep getting them dealt. I was talking with
- 5:38Speaker 1: a young person yesterday and we were talking and we
- 5:41Speaker 1: keep having the same conversation over and over and over,
- 5:44Speaker 1: and they could not understand why they were not moving forward.
- 5:48Speaker 1: But I said, you don't understand. Every time we talk,
- 5:51Speaker 1: we have the exact same conversation. It is simply because
- 5:55Speaker 1: you keep getting your cards and you playing them the
- 5:59Speaker 1: same way. See. Until you make a conscience, the conscious
- 6:04Speaker 1: decision to do something different, the results will continue to
- 6:08Speaker 1: be the same. See here's here's here's the way this works.
- 6:16Speaker 1: When you're dealt to disappointments in life, it's how you
- 6:19Speaker 1: handle the disappointments that determine their outcome and who you are.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Because everybody gonna be disappointment, Everybody gonna lose a loved one,
- 6:28Speaker 1: everybody gonna make a bad decision, everybody gonna end wake
- 6:31Speaker 1: up one morning and have done something they regretted. Everybody
- 6:34Speaker 1: gonna get caught at the wrong time. Every everybody gonna
- 6:39Speaker 1: make a mistake. It ain't just you. That is how
- 6:41Speaker 1: you play your cards when they get dealt to you,
- 6:44Speaker 1: that determine who you are. Now, how do I play
- 6:47Speaker 1: my cards better? First of all, it's a mindset. Quit
- 6:51Speaker 1: looking at everything as just the end when it happens
- 6:54Speaker 1: to you. Oh lord, woe is me? No everybody got
- 6:59Speaker 1: your circumstances somewhere. It ain't old woe as me. It's
- 7:03Speaker 1: hold on, man, okay, let me play this out to
- 7:06Speaker 1: see how God done connected this to something else. See.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Soon as a person have a setback, what's the first
- 7:11Speaker 1: thing A lot of people do. They go straight negative.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I can't see even get a break. I can't seem
- 7:16Speaker 1: to move forward. Hold on, man, do you realize this
- 7:19Speaker 1: could be connected to something? See you got to understand, man,
- 7:23Speaker 1: that this thing is all connected. That you not having
- 7:26Speaker 1: these mishaps and these spills and accidents and falls for
- 7:30Speaker 1: no reason. It's so you can become experienced at them.
- 7:33Speaker 1: So when he takes you to the next level, when
- 7:35Speaker 1: it happens again, you have no how and how to
- 7:37Speaker 1: handle it. If you keep throwing yourself off the cliff
- 7:41Speaker 1: every time something happened, you just gonna be a cliff
- 7:44Speaker 1: divil man, Stop tripping yourself out. I was talking to
- 7:48Speaker 1: this young person, I kept saying, and you know what,
- 7:50Speaker 1: they tried to tell me. I'm trying to stay positive.
- 7:54Speaker 1: But the people around here they just killing that. Oh.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I see. So when you learn something and you know something,
- 8:01Speaker 1: you don't take ownership of it. You allow other people
- 8:05Speaker 1: to come into what you know and believe and shake
- 8:08Speaker 1: it loose from you. I don't care who you are.
- 8:10Speaker 1: You not doing me like that. Here's a deal. I
- 8:13Speaker 1: have a gift that was given to me from God.
- 8:15Speaker 1: That is the gift of comedy. That's what I've done.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I've made the bulk of my living on that skill set.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Right there. There are comedians who are supposedly friends of mine,
- 8:26Speaker 1: who I've worked with, who get around in huddles with
- 8:28Speaker 1: one another and they say, man, Steve really ain't funny.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I don't see what they be laughing at. He ain't
- 8:33Speaker 1: funny to me. He wasn't the funniest king to me.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Excuse me, you're irrelevant in this conversation because irregardless as
- 8:42Speaker 1: to how you feel about me, there are people think
- 8:45Speaker 1: that I'm knocked down kill over funny. But more importantly,
- 8:49Speaker 1: I own the gift that God gave to me. I
- 8:52Speaker 1: take ownership of his blessing. Cause you don't think it's so.
- 8:56Speaker 1: You ain't taking that from me. Stop letting people steal, yojai.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Stop letting people take what you're supposed to know. Look,
- 9:05Speaker 1: I'm a I'm a kind person at heart. Man, You
- 9:08Speaker 1: ain't nothing. Now you sitting here going, man, I guess
- 9:11Speaker 1: I ain't. What's your tripping for? You are a kind person,
- 9:15Speaker 1: own that take ownership of it. Stop letting things God
- 9:21Speaker 1: has given you be taken away from others. The devil
- 9:24Speaker 1: is a cold player, and he got cold players working
- 9:26Speaker 1: for him, just shaking, just taking stuff from you. You know,
- 9:30Speaker 1: I'm a hard worker. I really am intelligent. You stupid man.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I thought I was a hard worker. Man. They came
- 9:37Speaker 1: in here and said I was stupid. Man, I don't
- 9:38Speaker 1: know what I'm doing wrong. What excuse me? You're a
- 9:42Speaker 1: very bright person. Hey, y'all take ownership. When God gives
- 9:47Speaker 1: you something, blesses you with a gift, a talent, a
- 9:49Speaker 1: skill set, a mindset.
- 9:51Speaker 7: Own it.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Don't let people come in here and take it from you.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Man.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Okay, I probably shouldn't have went that.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Morning.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, it's about to go down. What you're
- 10:07Speaker 1: talking about, Steve, What I'm talking about every morning, the
- 10:10Speaker 1: start of something grand, the start of something new, the
- 10:14Speaker 1: start of something spectacular. You know what I'm talking about,
- 10:19Speaker 1: because it's about to happen to you, ladies and gentlemen.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It is on and cracking here we are the Steve
- 10:25Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Give it to me, damn it, give
- 10:34Speaker 1: it to me.
- 10:39Speaker 5: I love it.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Crazy? Whoa hey, you do can what what I'm talking about?
- 10:58Speaker 1: I can't stop him. I'm too much. They won't.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Up shut up.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Back then, they won't. That's the only thing. The only
- 11:20Speaker 1: thing I miss about stand up is walking out gosh
- 11:26Speaker 1: and walking off. Wow.
- 11:28Speaker 3: What does that feel like.
- 11:31Speaker 1: To make you feel? It's like it's the most incredible thing.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Because as a stand up what can never replace stand up?
- 11:40Speaker 1: It is simply the purest form of adelation that you
- 11:45Speaker 1: can get from a crowd, because it's only a base
- 11:48Speaker 1: on your ability to provide enjoyment for them. You're not
- 11:53Speaker 1: you're not pulling at their hard strings. You're not you're
- 11:55Speaker 1: not taking them back down memory lane with their favorite song.
- 11:59Speaker 1: You're not doing sings. Ain't no such thing as a
- 12:01Speaker 1: joke alone. Come on, come on, do this one with me, y'all.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Two three people walk in the bar. Come on, you
- 12:07Speaker 1: know it, everybody. Come on, black man, white man, Chinese man,
- 12:11Speaker 1: Come on, y'all, y'all know this is a joker on
- 12:13Speaker 1: It is none of that. It is the purest form
- 12:17Speaker 1: of adolation that you can get from a crowd. And
- 12:20Speaker 1: when you kill it, and I mean a ninety minute set,
- 12:25Speaker 1: just you and you stand there for ninety minutes and
- 12:30Speaker 1: you deliver gut wrenching laughter and you walk off. Oh
- 12:35Speaker 1: my god, Oh my god. It is unbelievable. It is unbelievable, man.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And when you do it well, and then to top
- 12:46Speaker 1: all of that off, God has giving you the incredible
- 12:49Speaker 1: gifts that you can earn a living at it. Oh man,
- 12:54Speaker 1: oh man, oh man, I missed that too, man, Wow
- 12:59Speaker 1: Jesus clad applause. So let me just say quickly, good
- 13:03Speaker 1: morning to everybody on the show.

- 14:39Speaker 4: I'm trying to reach Warren the manager. He is, which
- 14:44Speaker 4: is wa thank you for calling. Are you the manager there?
- 14:48Speaker 8: Yes, sir?
- 14:48Speaker 4: Your name Warren?
- 14:49Speaker 8: Yes, sir?
- 14:50Speaker 4: This is one Okay. I need to actually file a
- 14:53Speaker 4: lawsuit on y'all, and I'm actually calling you first to
- 14:56Speaker 4: let you know that I'm getting ready to file a
- 14:58Speaker 4: lawsuit on the whole grocery store. Uh for what did
- 15:01Speaker 4: happened to me?
- 15:02Speaker 1: Sir?
- 15:03Speaker 8: Tom Let me let me get hold on a second.
- 15:05Speaker 8: So let me do this. Let me let me what
- 15:07Speaker 8: what did you say?
- 15:08Speaker 1: Your name was? My name is Evans.
- 15:11Speaker 8: Evans is my name, so Evans is your last name.
- 15:14Speaker 8: Let me let me write this down. And you came
- 15:16Speaker 8: into my store?
- 15:18Speaker 4: Did you have an accident in my store or something?
- 15:20Speaker 8: I'm not exact to show what you're calling about.
- 15:22Speaker 4: I ain't had no accident. What happened was I came
- 15:25Speaker 4: in there yesterday and I bought a bunch of grocers
- 15:28Speaker 4: that I bought a card in the eggs right now.
- 15:30Speaker 4: When I got home, I was chicken to make sure
- 15:33Speaker 4: the eggs didn't didn't break on the way home. When
- 15:35Speaker 4: I got home, it was a baby chick inside the
- 15:39Speaker 4: egg caught man, one of the eggs had it had
- 15:42Speaker 4: hatch and got my kids traumatized. Now they don't even
- 15:45Speaker 4: want to eat breakfast or nothing around here because it's
- 15:47Speaker 4: a baby chick play inside caught the eggs.
- 15:50Speaker 9: That don't make no sense, man, sir, I don't mean
- 15:54Speaker 9: to let me.
- 15:55Speaker 8: Can you tell me it was a chicken, a baby chicken,
- 15:58Speaker 8: actual chicken.
- 15:59Speaker 4: In the baby chick inside the carton the eggs. Man,
- 16:03Speaker 4: you got my kids traumatized. Man, don't nobody want nothing.
- 16:06Speaker 4: You got eggs.
- 16:07Speaker 8: If you just feel it, don't move out here, because
- 16:09Speaker 8: if you're just calmed down for one second, listen.
- 16:13Speaker 4: What I told y'all, put that chicken down in there.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Put it down. You might have Rayze say what.
- 16:19Speaker 8: I don't even think that that's possible. First of all,
- 16:22Speaker 8: if you had any idea how this thing comes from
- 16:25Speaker 8: the farm to the store, it is they go over
- 16:28Speaker 8: these eggs a countless summer times, and the temperat and
- 16:32Speaker 8: the phraser, first of all, wouldn't even allow for a
- 16:34Speaker 8: chicken to be alive if you had a baby.
- 16:37Speaker 4: I don't know I did this this one. I don't
- 16:41Speaker 4: know how this one got tasked the system, okay, But
- 16:44Speaker 4: what I do know is we got a baby chick
- 16:47Speaker 4: over here running around because the odd show ain't doing
- 16:51Speaker 4: what you're supposed to do. Man, and I got it,
- 16:52Speaker 4: And now my kids are traumatized behind this.
- 16:55Speaker 9: When did you say you in here?
- 16:56Speaker 4: So I was in there yesterday. I bought the eggs yesterday.
- 16:59Speaker 8: Man, down here at Alm.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Street, Yes, I bought them. I said the grocery store.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I sure did.
- 17:07Speaker 8: Okay, let's do this. Why don't you bring me eggs
- 17:09Speaker 8: into me and the chick?
- 17:11Speaker 4: So now you want me to transport a baby chick
- 17:14Speaker 4: back to the grocery store. I almost look we already
- 17:17Speaker 4: traumatized over here, already behind this dog on baby chick.
- 17:21Speaker 8: Man, I'm not I'm not exactly sure what you are
- 17:24Speaker 8: trying to pull here, but I just don't I don't
- 17:27Speaker 8: think why.
- 17:28Speaker 9: First of all, any anyone or.
- 17:30Speaker 8: Common sense will tell you that that's not possible. First
- 17:33Speaker 8: of all, you can't have a baby chick living in
- 17:36Speaker 8: a in a dozen eggs.
- 17:37Speaker 9: There is no possible way that this.
- 17:40Speaker 8: The temperature and my freezers are right above freezing. There's
- 17:43Speaker 8: no chickens or fragile creature in the first place. You
- 17:46Speaker 8: can't have a little bird that is not gonna survive
- 17:49Speaker 8: the transport from the farm to the factory to my store.
- 17:54Speaker 9: I'm not getting the look.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Hey, hey, hey, I'm not gonna go back and forth
- 17:59Speaker 4: with you shit you him boy.
- 18:01Speaker 8: If you want to bring me a dozen eggs, bring
- 18:04Speaker 8: the dozen eggs in if you can catch the chick,
- 18:06Speaker 8: catch a chick.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Hey man, you okay, you're just supposed to be the manager.
- 18:09Speaker 4: You're not supposed to talk to me like that.
- 18:11Speaker 8: So I'm a'll tell you as politely as possible if
- 18:14Speaker 8: you want to bring in the leven eggs and a chick,
- 18:17Speaker 8: I will gladly in front of your money, give you
- 18:19Speaker 8: another car ass whatever.
- 18:21Speaker 4: You want to do.
- 18:21Speaker 9: But I'm not even know you what I want to have.
- 18:23Speaker 4: But I'm got all a lawsuit because y'all have traumatize
- 18:26Speaker 4: me and my kids.
- 18:28Speaker 8: Sir, listen, all right, let's just bring this down a lossuit, sir,
- 18:32Speaker 8: over a dozen eggs old.
- 18:36Speaker 4: A dozen eggs that gotta baby chick in it.
- 18:39Speaker 8: Man, So let me take your phone number as some information,
- 18:42Speaker 8: and I'll talk to my manager and we will figure
- 18:46Speaker 8: this thing out for you, because I just I just
- 18:48Speaker 8: don't believe that this would be possible.
- 18:50Speaker 4: I just I don't understand how you would have a
- 18:53Speaker 4: Chicklet just leave them over there, don't touch the chicken.
- 18:58Speaker 8: I just don't believe that this because possibly be happy.
- 19:00Speaker 8: So this is it's unbereigualab to me to even get this.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Something, sir. I don't have time to go back and
- 19:06Speaker 4: forth with you about how something happened. All I know
- 19:10Speaker 4: is it may be it's some fluit accident, Okay, but
- 19:13Speaker 4: it happened. My kids are over here playing with a
- 19:16Speaker 4: baby chick, and I'm traumatized. I don't even want to
- 19:19Speaker 4: ever have breakfast up again. And I'm over to make show.
- 19:23Speaker 4: I file a lawsuit on your store, and your show.
- 19:26Speaker 9: Me I acertain anything to do with me. I didn't
- 19:30Speaker 9: do anything.
- 19:31Speaker 8: Except come into rus today. You understand what I'm saying.
- 19:34Speaker 9: If you wanna found a.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Lost okay, I don't file a lawsuit. I'm found lost
- 19:38Speaker 4: on the grocery store, and I'm filing a lawsuit on
- 19:41Speaker 4: the manager, Warren, Which is your for giving me a
- 19:45Speaker 4: hard time about what I'm telling you that happen.
- 19:47Speaker 9: You don't even got a hard time out of me
- 19:49Speaker 9: like you I'm saying. I'm saying you are a hard time.
- 19:51Speaker 9: Comes down here with that day.
- 19:52Speaker 4: I'm bringing the bag down here, and I'm bringing that

- 21:46Speaker 3: This one is from Monette in Alabama. Money says, I'm
- 21:49Speaker 3: a twenty eight year old professional female and the love
- 21:52Speaker 3: of my life is twenty nine. We are living proof
- 21:55Speaker 3: that opposites a track. He's got his ged and he
- 21:59Speaker 3: makes a great living as a construction worker. He cleans
- 22:02Speaker 3: up nicely, and he is fine. There are two things
- 22:06Speaker 3: that concern me.
- 22:07Speaker 1: He uses street.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Slang all the time, and I try not to correct
- 22:10Speaker 3: him because it usually starts an argument. The other problem
- 22:14Speaker 3: is that he's not open to try new things. So
- 22:16Speaker 3: if we eat out, he gets chicken tenders or a burger.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Are these big issues? Or am I being shallow? You
- 22:23Speaker 1: be a real shallow shallow. You just said the love
- 22:26Speaker 1: of your life man and your dreams opposite is a tract.
- 22:30Speaker 1: He got a ged, This is his world, This is
- 22:33Speaker 1: how he talked. Now he can get better, but when
- 22:36Speaker 1: he go out, he go what's safe? See see, let
- 22:41Speaker 1: me tell you this. So a lot of times people

- 22:45Speaker 1: trying something. Can't pronounce it, don't know what it is,
- 22:48Speaker 1: I ain't ever had. It might cost too much. So now,
- 22:52Speaker 1: but where is it y'all going to? Everywhere y'all go?
- 22:54Speaker 1: They got chicken tims. You might, he continues, ain't on
- 23:01Speaker 1: the menu. You might can get him to try something else.
- 23:05Speaker 1: So women oftentimes make their men better. Yes, So take
- 23:10Speaker 1: him to different places, and you know, say, just you know,
- 23:15Speaker 1: have him try some stuff on your plate. You know,
- 23:18Speaker 1: let him get the chicken where he feels safe and comfortable.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Then let him try some stuff on your plate. You
- 23:23Speaker 1: may have a great you probably got a great guy him,

- 23:30Speaker 3: No, that's true, all right, Tammy and Saint Louis says,
- 23:32Speaker 3: I started a new job a month ago, and I
- 23:35Speaker 3: worked with a lot of women, so I knew there'd
- 23:37Speaker 3: be drama. Yesterday, on my way to lunch, my neighbor's
- 23:40Speaker 3: fiance pulled up and I waved at him. As I
- 23:42Speaker 3: walked by, one of my coworkers got in his car,
- 23:46Speaker 3: They kissed and drove off. When I came back, the
- 23:49Speaker 3: same coworker came to my office to tell me I
- 23:52Speaker 3: better not tell my neighbor what I saw or she
- 23:54Speaker 3: would slap the urine out of me. Let's say, I
- 23:58Speaker 3: wanted to snatch her ponytail off, but I kept my
- 24:01Speaker 3: cool going forward?
- 24:03Speaker 1: How should I deal with her? Wow?
- 24:05Speaker 3: What?
- 24:05Speaker 4: What?
- 24:05Speaker 6: What?
- 24:06Speaker 4: What? What? What?
- 24:07Speaker 1: There's nothing for you to do. It's absolutely nothing for
- 24:10Speaker 1: you to do except say, listen to me. First of all,

- 25:34Speaker 3: he hurt me this way?
- 25:38Speaker 1: That's her letter. Yeah, that's her question. How you think

- 53:10Speaker 3: man and I'm on my second marriage. My wife has
- 53:13Speaker 3: two daughters from a previous marriage, and they're both grown
- 53:16Speaker 3: and live in different cities. The oldest daughter is twenty
- 53:19Speaker 3: nine now and she has a one year old son.
- 53:22Speaker 3: My wife is looking forward to Thanksgiving because she will
- 53:25Speaker 3: have the girls home and she can spend quality time
- 53:28Speaker 3: with her grandson. But I'm not excited about us all
- 53:33Speaker 3: being under one roof because because I had an affair
- 53:38Speaker 3: with the oldest daughter. It started when she was twenty
- 53:44Speaker 3: seven and she moved back in with us briefly to
- 53:48Speaker 3: save some money. She was very flirtatious, and she'd rub
- 53:52Speaker 3: my head when she hugged me and sit on my
- 53:55Speaker 3: lap to talk to me and call me handsome whenever
- 53:58Speaker 3: her mom wasn't around. One night, while her mom was
- 54:01Speaker 3: asleep on the couch, she took a bath with a
- 54:04Speaker 3: door cracked, and I mistakenly went in to use the bathroom.
- 54:09Speaker 3: This was the first time we had sex, and I
- 54:12Speaker 3: felt terrible, and so did she, so she moved out
- 54:16Speaker 3: the next week. The next week, my wife insisted that
- 54:19Speaker 3: I help her move, so I did, and we had
- 54:22Speaker 3: sex the second time at her apartment.
- 54:26Speaker 1: The affair went on for a while. You ready for this.
- 54:31Speaker 3: The affair went on for a while until she got pregnant.

- 54:42Speaker 3: but my stepdaughter has her boyfriend thinking.
- 54:45Speaker 1: It's his son.
- 54:46Speaker 3: I've always wanted a child, but my first wife couldn't
- 54:50Speaker 3: have children. I want to be part of this child's
- 54:54Speaker 3: life so badly that I'm willing to end my marriage
- 54:57Speaker 3: if I have to. I will not allow another blo
- 55:00Speaker 3: boy to grow up without a father. I know this
- 55:03Speaker 3: is all a big mess. But I'm ready to tell
- 55:05Speaker 3: the truth when we're all together for Thanksgiving.
- 55:08Speaker 1: My wife will be heartbroken. I'm sure.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Am I being selfish in this situation?
- 55:14Speaker 5: Whoo?
- 55:16Speaker 3: That's the question you want to ask her? Are you
- 55:18Speaker 3: being selfish? I mean, really, that's it that responds is woo?
- 55:24Speaker 3: I mean, how dare you write us with this mess?
- 55:28Speaker 3: I mean, Steve and I we are in this. You
- 55:32Speaker 3: did this, You did this with your stepdaughter, your stepdaughter, dog,
- 55:38Speaker 3: your stepdaughter.
- 55:39Speaker 1: And it's foul. This is foul right here. This is
- 55:43Speaker 1: so foul.
- 55:44Speaker 3: If you had to cheat on your wife, I'm gonna
- 55:47Speaker 3: say this. I'm gonna say this, if you just had
- 55:49Speaker 3: to cheat on your wife, if you could not keep
- 55:51Speaker 3: it in your pants because someone was flirting with you
- 55:54Speaker 3: and rubbing your ball head and sitting in your lap, Honestly,
- 55:58Speaker 3: I would have rather for you to step outside the
- 56:00Speaker 3: marriage then to get with your wife's daughter. I mean really,
- 56:02Speaker 3: that would have made more sense. Now you and your
- 56:05Speaker 3: stepdaughter have a son together that she had to lie
- 56:08Speaker 3: to her boyfriend about, and she has a boyfriend thinking
- 56:11Speaker 3: the baby is his. This is so wrong on so
- 56:13Speaker 3: many levels. I mean, just lie on top of lie
- 56:16Speaker 3: on top of lie. I'm hurt for your wife. I'm
- 56:19Speaker 3: hurt for her and she doesn't even know what's going
- 56:21Speaker 3: on yet, all because you couldn't stay away from her daughter.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Why did you allow her to sit on your lap
- 56:28Speaker 3: and all that?
- 56:29Speaker 1: Anyway, why did you do that? Why didn't you say no?
- 56:32Speaker 1: Why didn't you get up?
- 56:33Speaker 7: You know why?
- 56:36Speaker 3: That's the part that's killing me. And you know what,
- 56:39Speaker 3: there's no good ending. There's no way to end this
- 56:43Speaker 3: nicely or respectfully. There's no good ending to this nightmare
- 56:47Speaker 3: of a story.
- 56:48Speaker 1: There just isn't.
- 56:50Speaker 3: There's no way to make it right. I want you
- 56:52Speaker 3: to leave. I want you to get a divorce and
- 56:54Speaker 3: pay child support for your son because I feel at
- 56:57Speaker 3: some point the truth is going to come out anyway,
- 56:59Speaker 3: it really is, is whether you tell your wife a
- 57:01Speaker 3: Thanksgiving or not. And what a way to spoil Thanksgiving dinner.
- 57:05Speaker 3: I bet you guys are going to continue to live
- 57:07Speaker 3: out this lie until something happens. This is just a mess,
- 57:12Speaker 3: it really is. Are you being selfish in this situation?
- 57:15Speaker 3: You have always been selfish in this situation?
- 57:19Speaker 1: Steve boy boy, Yes he did, Yes, sure, sir, you
- 57:37Speaker 1: are in so much damn trouble right now, you have
- 57:44Speaker 1: not seen the trumble. See you know. Look, I tell
- 57:49Speaker 1: my sons all the time, the older you get, the
- 57:55Speaker 1: more dire the consequences for your mistakes, because as you
- 58:00Speaker 1: get older, you're supposed to get better at handling errors
- 58:06Speaker 1: and situations to help you to avoid the big mistakes,
- 58:11Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Look, you're gonna always make
- 58:13Speaker 1: mistakes till you leave this world, but you try to
- 58:17Speaker 1: get the big ones out the way early. You know,
- 58:22Speaker 1: before you you fifty seven, it's half a hundred years
- 58:28Speaker 1: you've been here. Over your stupid ass. That is this
- 58:37Speaker 1: ignorant ass mess that you that wrote us like we
- 58:41Speaker 1: got some help for you. We don't have no help
- 58:43Speaker 1: for you, all right, see you hang on, hang on.
- 58:48Speaker 3: We'll have part two of your response coming up at
- 58:50Speaker 3: twenty three minutes after the hour. My Strawberry letter for
- 58:53Speaker 3: today's subject Thanksgiving Surprise.
- 58:57Speaker 1: We'll get back.
- 58:57Speaker 3: Into it right after this listen, Morning show. All right, Steve,
- 59:03Speaker 3: come on, let's recap today's Strawberry letter. The subject to
- 59:06Speaker 3: Thanksgiving surprise.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Sir, fifty seven year old man, you so ignorant. Ignorant,
- 59:18Speaker 1: fifty seven year old married man that had an affair
- 59:22Speaker 1: with your stepdaughter when she moved back in because she
- 59:25Speaker 1: needed to get on her feet. She was twenty seven
- 59:27Speaker 1: years old, always calling you handsome. Y'all had sex while
- 59:31Speaker 1: your wife was asleep on the sofa. You felt bad,
- 59:37Speaker 1: She felt bad, so she decided to move out the
- 59:41Speaker 1: next week. Then your wife tells you help her move
- 59:45Speaker 1: you over a the apartment having some most sex. Now
- 59:50Speaker 1: she twenty nine, so y'all been having this affair for
- 59:53Speaker 1: two years. All this started when she was in there
- 59:58Speaker 1: taking a bath and left the dough crack. This is
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: what you said when this happened. One night while her
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: mom was asleep on the couch, she took a bath
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: with the doe cracked, and I mistakenly went in to
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: use the bathroom. Boy, yeah, boy, how big is y'all bathroom?
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: And they only had one? Well, when the dog cracked,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: you mistakenly went in to use the bathroom. When you
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: open the door and you saw in the bathtub, you
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: ain't turn around, right, bro. Now the fair been going
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: on for a while. Then guess what he said? Until
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: she got pregnant. Now she got a boyfriend and got
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: the boyfriend thinking it's his son when it's really your son.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: And you've always wanted a child, even from your first wife,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: but she couldn't. And now you want a son so
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: bad you're willing to leave your wife so you can
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: have relationship with his son because you did. Here come
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: the noble part you throw in, because I will not
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: allow another black boy to grow up without a father.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: He got two damn daddies. Yeah, we don't feel sorry
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: for you, bro. Let's tell the truth. You don't want
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: to leave the mama so you can raise the son.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: You want to leave the mama so you can have
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: the fleeing with the twenty nine year old. Come now,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: that's really what you talking about. I want this son
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: so badly, I'm willing to leave my wife so I
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: can raise this something for what dog?
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: What?
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Doc?
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: Do you know?
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: How? That don't even sound right to no damn other man?
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: So how you think that's gonna work. You're gonna wait
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: on Thanksgiving? She gonna come to the house with the
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: baby with her boyfriend. The other daughter gonna be there,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: You and your wife gonna be sitting up there, and
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: then you gonna tell her what happened. That young ass
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: boy gonna whoop your hands. I'm talking about who he
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: gonna go off, the other sister gonna go off your wife. Lord,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: have mercy, what you're gonna do to this woman? See, bro,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: this is a disaster now it is. Do not wait
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: to Thanksgiving right, thank you? But if you're gonna go
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: in here with this noise going here right now, if
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: that's what you're gonna do, and I don't really know
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: what you should do. Really, I really told you that
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Shirley got it right. I don't know what you write
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: us for. We ain't got nothing for you. There is
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: no right way to do this because everything about it
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: is wrong. See. People think if I just come clean
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: to be honest, that's the right thing to do. What
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: it is still a mess? Hey man, honesty. See, let
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: me tell you something. When you've been so dishonest for
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: so long on so many levels, how do you think
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: one moment of honesty is supposed to correct it all?
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: You think by coming clean at least I came clean,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: at least.
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: You You've been screwing this woman for over two years,
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: your wife's daughter, she.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Got your son. You're finn to ruin your relationship with
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: your wife. You find to ruin the mother and the
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: daughter relationship. Oh, Yeah, it's gonna damage the other child's relationship,
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: the other sibling with her sister. How could you do
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: this to our mother? Yes, you ain't gonna be right
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: with the two of them no more. The boyfriend been
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: buying these pamples and everything. He gonna warn your ass
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: because now he's been paying money thinking he had something.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Now you find to tell him it ain't his son,
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: it's your son. And now you was over here screwing
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: my girl dog. Do you understand the complexity of all
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: of this that's going on? Have you lost your ever
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: loving mind? Now you think, Oh, Thanksgiving? It's the time
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: while everybody there. Boy you you that, sir, listen to me.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: It's gonna be food everywhere. It's too muchy, it's too
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: many knives that Thanksgiving. Oh, you're gonna get busted over
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: your head with the yellow mold, gonna dunk your ass

- 1:04:30Speaker 1: it's terrible, surely, And I do not have an answer
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: for you. You don't know what you're gonna do. This

- 1:16:44Speaker 1: can't do it. Wash up, I'm going to stand in
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: that way. They're supposed to be standing for you. They

- 1:16:56Speaker 3: they're good for you.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: No, it ain't that much as well. Don't athletes take
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: their things? Yeah? Yeah, all of that them athletes? We comedians.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: We don't need all that. You're not athletic comedian. Yeah,
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: I got inflammation jokes, all right?

- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: Or would you rather have Thanksgiving dinner alone, fully dressed,
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: a long.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: Family, whole family than him? My mama? Where in him?
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: Mama sitting up? I don't tell you. Ain't away, Jackie.

- 1:17:48Speaker 1: we can't do this. Last one.
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: Would you rather cry uncontrollably when you get aroused or
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: not be able to talk at all when you get aroused?
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Which I knew both of them? One either one bunch of.
- 1:18:04Speaker 10: Show.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I'm be. I just won't be. I don't
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: want to cry. I't don't want to quiet. Crying interrupt
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: your breathing pattern. I need to keep my breathing, right, Nah,
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: just get me to not talking. What is Tommy crying?
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: All right? You shown tell a lot though.
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: Coming up at forty nine minutes after, we'll have some
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: closing remarks from the one and only Steve Harvey and
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: it'll be our last break of the day.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Right after this.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve, here
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: we are last break of the day on this Tuesday.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: You have some closing remarks for us.
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: I know you do.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: Yeah. I've been talking to you all a few times
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: about this thing that I've started doing every morning, this
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: morning meditation. It's a series of things I do. You
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: don't have to do it. Everybody has to pick their
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: own way to go about it. I just decided because
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: of a scripture that I read Psalms five and three
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: and Psalms five and three. It just talks about in
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: the morning, and just talk about when you talk to
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: God in the morning, you're asking him to hear your voice.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: And then after you ask him to hear your voice
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: of everything you pray and talk to him about, asking
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: to show gratitude. You wait in expectation of all these
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: things to happen in your life. You know not. Look,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: everything you ask are not gonna happen today, but you
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: spend your day in expectation that God is gonna do
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: something to move you closer to your goals, your dreams,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: your visions, and especially to Him. But what I have
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: learned about this morning meditation and it has bought about
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: a pizza in my life that I've never had before.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: I'm just sharing it with everybody because I'd like for
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: you all to try it. Look, they got these daily
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: inspiration books all over the place. The one I got
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: is called Enjoying Peace and His Presence by Sarah Young.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: It's just a three hundred and sixty five day devotion,
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: or you can pick anyone you want. You know how
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: they have a little message of the day and then
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: they back it up with a couple of scriptures. And look, man,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: I'm not being religious with you at all, because your
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: faith doesn't matter to me. I'm just talking about a method,
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: this morning meditation. And what I do is what it
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: does is is after I get through meditating and say
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: the Lord's Prayer and I read my little daily daily inspiration,
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: I got a Bible app and I do my Verse
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: of the day, and then I go look it up
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: in the Bible, and I look it up in the
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: New Living Testament so I can understand the real words.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: And before I close out, I pull out my list
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: of everything that I'm thanking God for, which is a
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: full sheet of paper. And then I have a second
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: sheet of paper that stuff I'm asking God for, which
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: is another full sheet of paper. What I've learned in
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: this meditation is that it has given me a peace
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: that has transcended my intellect. And what I mean by
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: that is what I've discovered. What's happening to me, and
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: it might be happening to a lot of you, is
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: when most of your mental energy goes into trying to
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: figure everything out, which I can't tell you how much
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: of my morning I used to wake up in the
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: morning and began to figure every try to figure everything out.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: When you're trying to figure it out the peace that
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: God can really give you, you're you're not capable of
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: receiving that because you're in the wait with your mindset.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: See you so busy trying to figure it out that
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: you don't you don't leave room for God and what God,
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: God kind of looks in your head and probably looking
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: at all these thoughts spinning around and around and going
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: nowhere and accomplishing nothing, and all the while, this piece
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: that he has for me had been kind of hovering
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: over my head, searching for a place to land. But
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: I wasn't given his peace a place to land in
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: my head because I had it so jumbled up with
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: thoughts of how to figure it out, what I'm gonna do,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: who should I call, what should I say, how do
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: I respond? And for the past month I've stopped doing that.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: All of a sudden, it just gave me an incredible
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: peace that he had been trying to give to me
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: for years. I wish I had learned this a long
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: time ago, but maybe it can help you out the
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: way it has helped me. But I guess we all
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: learned stuff as we go along. You know, we are
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: all slowly becoming the person that we should have been
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: a long time ago. I also learned of late that
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: it takes your entire life life to find out everything
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: there is to find out about yourself to be who
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: you really are. It takes your entire life. This person
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: that I become has become a person more at peace
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: as all the controversy and things swoil around me. God
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: has given me a real calmness in the eye of
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: the hurricane, and we all can be the center of
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: the hurricane if we just refuse to step out and
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: to swirl us around us, and it's all around us.
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: It's relative to who you are. Some swels appear bigger
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: than other swirls because of the level you've reached in life.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Some people might look over there and go, man, that
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: ain't nothing, But in they world it could be everything.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: It could be monumentous. So who am I because it's
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: all relative as to where we are. You know, we
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: all got our different crosses to bear. But the one
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: thing I've learned about this morning meditation has given me
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: a peace beyond my intellect, and it is to just
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: have a calmness that I haven't had in a long time.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: And I don't have to respond to everything. Because everything
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: that somebody's saying about you, and everything that somebody's doing
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: towards you, that's meant for evil. That ain't your business,
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: and don't make it yours. Don't even worry about it.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: Those people have no idea that God's weighs are as
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: high above the earth as the heavens. They have no idea.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: They just operating in their own little cocoon, thinking they
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: staring up something because they got some likes or something
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: like that. Hey, y'all, don't get in that. Don't worry
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: about ten people. If you love God and you a
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: child of His, He's working on your behalf, even when
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: it looks like it's a mess out there. All you
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: got to do is stay at the eye of the hurricane.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Don't get in the swirl, don't go out there. If
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: you stay centered in Him, he'll give you a piece
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: that transcends all your intellect. That's what the Morning Meditation
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: has done for me. I would invite you all to
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: try it yourself. All right, that's it today. Those are
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: my closing in marks.
