  Speaker 2: I'll tell you, as of lunch today, Republican leadership in

  Speaker 2: the Senate thought there was a very good chance Senate

  Speaker 2: Democrats would open the government in the next twenty four

  Speaker 2: or forty eight hours. It takes. We've got to get

  Speaker 2: at least seven Democrats agreeing enough is enough. Let this
• 1:41
  Speaker 2: never ending, the longest shutdown in history end. But as

  Speaker 2: I sit here Wednesday night, I don't know if that

  Speaker 2: will happen. I told Ben, look, we'll know probably sometime Thursday.

  Speaker 2: There's a chance the government opens on Thursday. It's Wednesday night.

  Speaker 2: I don't know if that's going to happen. There's a

  Speaker 2: chance the government opens on Friday. And there's a chance

  Speaker 2: if you have the sort of left lane extreme and

  Speaker 2: the Democrats subject that the government opens on Saturday. They

  Speaker 2: can delay the vote until Saturday to reopen the government.

  Speaker 2: There's also a chance that Democrats look at the election

  Speaker 2: results from Tuesday night they say, the crazies are resurgent.

  Speaker 2: To hell with it, let's keep it shut down even longer.

  Speaker 2: So we could be facing a government shutdown that extends

  Speaker 2: into next week rather than have a show where if

  Speaker 2: the government has just opened up and Ben and I

  Speaker 2: are not talking about it, you guys would think, what

  Speaker 2: the heck is wrong with these people? How are you

  Speaker 2: open again. The Democrats have surrendered. I don't know if

  Speaker 2: that will happen, but sure would be a good result.

  Speaker 1: said we need seven Democrats on TV. We've been hearing

  Speaker 1: the number six. Why did you say the number seven?

  Speaker 1: Democrats need to pass this so they understand the logistics.

  Speaker 2: So we actually need eight.

  Speaker 1: We need fifty. Okay, so we need eight.

  Speaker 2: So explain, they're fifty three Republicans. To open the government,

  Speaker 2: you need sixty votes. Fifty three plus seven is sixty. However,

  Speaker 2: Rand Paul is voting with the Democrats over and over
• 3:25
  Speaker 2: and over again to keep the government shut down. So

  Speaker 2: if you assume Rand is a no, and he almost
• 3:29
  Speaker 2: surely is, then we have fifty two Republicans and we
• 3:32
  Speaker 2: got to have eight Democrats. That's the math. We may
• 3:35
  Speaker 2: end up with ten or twelve Democrats, but we need
• 3:37
  Speaker 2: a minimum of eight. If we don't have eight, the
• 3:39
  Speaker 2: government stays shut down.
