- 2:07Speaker 1: Come on dig me now one it only Steve Harley
- 2:10Speaker 1: got a radio show today. I want to just share
- 2:16Speaker 1: something with you along your way to wherever it is
- 2:23Speaker 1: you're trying to get to. You know, everybody has a
- 2:26Speaker 1: different definition for success, and I'm not. I'm not here
- 2:30Speaker 1: to tell you what joy should be. I mean, please
- 2:33Speaker 1: pursue whatever you think success He is aim as high
- 2:36Speaker 1: as you can though, that's for sure. My father used
- 2:42Speaker 1: to say all the time. I'm sure you all have
- 2:43Speaker 1: heard it in different variations, but he used to always say,
- 2:47Speaker 1: aim for the moon. Just in case you miss, you'll
- 2:50Speaker 1: still be amongst the stars. Just say that to me
- 2:53Speaker 1: all the time. So that always was in me to
- 2:56Speaker 1: aim high. Now he wasn't saying aim with the intent
- 3:01Speaker 1: to miss. He was just saying aim In case you miss,
- 3:07Speaker 1: you're still amongst the stars. If you aim for the moon.
- 3:11Speaker 1: But if you just aim for that first flow wind
- 3:13Speaker 1: and you miss it, you know, usually run into some
- 3:18Speaker 1: type of wall and nothing happens. You slither down. You know.
- 3:22Speaker 1: In my book, act like a lady, think like a man.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I told her people that men love three ways. They profess,
- 3:27Speaker 1: they provide, they protect, and that's the core essence of
- 3:31Speaker 1: a man's love. Well, there's some other peas in life too.
- 3:37Speaker 1: The number one thing you have to understand about trying
- 3:41Speaker 1: to be successful, and I guess I call this the
- 3:45Speaker 1: four peas. I may come up with five along the way.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm just talking as is given to me.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So I'm gonna summer start by saying, as these are
- 3:54Speaker 1: the four peas of success that you have to get
- 3:58Speaker 1: ready for. Number one, it's pressure. A lot of it
- 4:03Speaker 1: is applied by the circumstance of what you're trying to
- 4:06Speaker 1: go for and what you're trying to do, but a
- 4:11Speaker 1: lot of it also is self imposed pressure. It's what
- 4:16Speaker 1: you put on yourself to make it. It's a sense
- 4:19Speaker 1: of urgency, it's a sense of necessity. But pressure is
- 4:27Speaker 1: the first thing I want you to be ready for.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And pressure comes in a lot of different forms, but
- 4:33Speaker 1: it's going to be pressured. As an old saying that
- 4:35Speaker 1: pressure buster pipe. See, that's why most people turn around,
- 4:38Speaker 1: because of the pressure of trying to be successful. I
- 4:42Speaker 1: want you to get it in your mind that it
- 4:45Speaker 1: is going to be a pressure rized situation on your
- 4:48Speaker 1: rise to the top. Pressure, but understand that that it
- 4:53Speaker 1: is what it is, is not going to change. That's it.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Prepare yourself, get ready for there to be pressure. The
- 5:03Speaker 1: second thing I want you to understand is when you
- 5:06Speaker 1: receive this pressure, you have to persist. You got to
- 5:11Speaker 1: stay at it. You got to develop a dog getness
- 5:17Speaker 1: has a There's a song that says, why must I
- 5:24Speaker 1: feel like that? Why must I chase the cat? Nothing
- 5:29Speaker 1: but the dog in me? That's a funny line in
- 5:33Speaker 1: that song, because really I was thinking about it one day.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I was humming it and and it, and it occurred
- 5:40Speaker 1: to me, said, why must I feel like that? Why
- 5:44Speaker 1: must I chase the cat? Nothing but the dog get me?
- 5:50Speaker 1: And you know, now you could take it into literal
- 5:52Speaker 1: sense that the cat chases the dog because it's innately
- 5:56Speaker 1: is in his spirit. That cats and dogs are a
- 5:59Speaker 1: lot of time enemies. Now people have pets in him,
- 6:02Speaker 1: proving that if you show love on both sides, they
- 6:05Speaker 1: can exist. And that happens too, but naturally innately, when
- 6:10Speaker 1: your cat goes by a dog and your dog don't
- 6:12Speaker 1: recognize him, that some barking going on. I'm talking about
- 6:15Speaker 1: just walking through the neighborhood or something. So, but the
- 6:18Speaker 1: reason that this dog's so persistent towards this cat is
- 6:25Speaker 1: just cause it's in him. It's innately in him. And
- 6:30Speaker 1: what I'm saying to you, just using that as an analogy,
- 6:35Speaker 1: is that you got to be you got to be
- 6:39Speaker 1: persistent in that. You got to develop some dog in
- 6:44Speaker 1: you now because pressure takes some fighting back. See if
- 6:49Speaker 1: you don't fight back against pressure, pressure buster pipes, So
- 6:52Speaker 1: what you think it will do to you? Pressure crack walls,
- 6:56Speaker 1: pressure calls, explosions. So if you don't fight back to
- 6:59Speaker 1: hold it in, you understand pressure does most people in
- 7:05Speaker 1: the simple thing called pressure, the weight of what it
- 7:09Speaker 1: feels like to want to be successful every single day,
- 7:12Speaker 1: over and over and over and over and over. It's
- 7:16Speaker 1: just too much pressure. People crack. You got to persist.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You have to persist. You can the thought of giving
- 7:24Speaker 1: up can come, but you got to get it out.
- 7:27Speaker 1: You got to persist. The next thing I want you
- 7:32Speaker 1: to think about is another something that I've been thinking
- 7:36Speaker 1: about for years and learn for years. It's called perseverance.
- 7:41Speaker 1: To persist means to insist. Its keyword in insist and
- 7:48Speaker 1: persistence insists you must. You must insist that this is
- 7:52Speaker 1: going to happen. Now, the persist I'm assuming means it's
- 7:56Speaker 1: a proaction. It's some type of proaction that you go towards.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Is it to make it? You know, persist, you gotta
- 8:03Speaker 1: be persisted. You gotta be constantly at it, insisting that
- 8:07Speaker 1: it happens. You gotta be constantly at it. But the
- 8:09Speaker 1: next thing I want you to remember is perseverance. Perseverance
- 8:13Speaker 1: is important. Perseverance means that when you've done your best,
- 8:20Speaker 1: when you've persisted, when you're fighting back against the pressure.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Perseverance simply means I'm going to hang in here when
- 8:29Speaker 1: if a crack come into pipe, I'm gonna hang in there.
- 8:33Speaker 1: If the pipe bust, I'm gonna keep going if I
- 8:37Speaker 1: gotta put duct, take mud, whatever I got to put
- 8:41Speaker 1: on this thing. Man, I'm gonna use perseverance. I'm going
- 8:46Speaker 1: to stay with it no matter what. So we're looking
- 8:50Speaker 1: at the three things again. You got to understand that
- 8:54Speaker 1: it's gonna be pressure that you're gonna have to persist.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Keyword and persistence insist. You have to insist that no
- 9:02Speaker 1: matter what the pressure is, I'm gonna stay with it.
- 9:04Speaker 1: But then perseverance. If it goes wrong, man, you got
- 9:08Speaker 1: to get in there and keep fighting. But then Lord
- 9:12Speaker 1: Him Mercy. Nothing helps you handle the three peas better
- 9:16Speaker 1: than the fourth pea. You got to pray. You got
- 9:20Speaker 1: to use prayer. You gotta talk to God. You gotta
- 9:24Speaker 1: use faith. You gotta have some conferences with him late
- 9:28Speaker 1: at night, early in the morning, in the middle of
- 9:31Speaker 1: the afternoon, when you own the train, when you're driving.
- 9:34Speaker 1: You got to talk to God. Man, you gotta get
- 9:36Speaker 1: yourself some help along the way. Nothing is bigger than prayer.
- 9:40Speaker 1: There is nothing bigger than prayer. Prayer will help you
- 9:43Speaker 1: overcome the pressure. Prayer will help you stay persistent, and
- 9:47Speaker 1: Lord Him Mercy, prayer will help you persevere. Them as
- 9:51Speaker 1: the faux pas that just came to me today. God
- 9:54Speaker 1: gave that to me. I'm passing it on. Ladies and gentlemen.
- 10:03Speaker 1: It is time that Steve Harvey Morning Show is upon us.

- 12:46Speaker 1: we're gonna see who wants to do some business with
- 12:49Speaker 1: us and throwing it out there. I've talked to said,
- 12:55Speaker 1: I've talked to d L. I've talked to Walter Latham.
- 12:58Speaker 1: We all on the same page age. You want to
- 13:00Speaker 1: do something great. You ain't talking to me, but no, no,
- 13:05Speaker 1: we didn't. Okay, you want to see it in deal
- 13:08Speaker 1: and see what. No, you don't have to. You don't
- 13:10Speaker 1: have to, okay, Steve, Yeah, no is that a no?
- 13:15Speaker 1: So see why? Why why is he in this show?
- 13:18Speaker 1: I ain't see him in the movie? Well, I mean
- 13:22Speaker 1: bing bim bing bing big being I'm on side occurring
- 13:25Speaker 1: when he walked out there. All right, we have to
- 13:29Speaker 1: move on that. The job coming up at thirty two
- 13:33Speaker 1: after the hour. You know what, we're gonna talk about
- 13:36Speaker 1: biggest regrets. What are our biggest regrets? Oh my god? Okay,
- 13:39Speaker 1: I think about that and uh, we'll be back right
- 13:42Speaker 1: after this. You're listening. Well, you know, some people regret
- 13:48Speaker 1: getting married. A lot of people say that. Some people
- 13:52Speaker 1: regret divorce. Some people regret leaving a job. I said,
- 13:58Speaker 1: some people. Okay, we're not using any names here. Some
- 14:06Speaker 1: people will regret leaving a job, or cheating, uh, not
- 14:09Speaker 1: saving enough money, not going to college. It goes on
- 14:12Speaker 1: and on and on. You know, I regret you regret it.
- 14:16Speaker 1: You don't regrets it. What they're doing it. You know,
- 14:19Speaker 1: you don't put conditions on the cheating. Glad you cleared
- 14:23Speaker 1: that up, married man. But when you get away, way
- 14:32Speaker 1: do it again. It seems only saying wow. He's not
- 14:35Speaker 1: saying you're wrong, but he'd be saying that. He's saying yes, right,
- 14:44Speaker 1: all right, Well, Tom Joyner, we all know Tom Joyner.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Tom Joyner was on a panel at the National Association
- 14:49Speaker 1: of Black Journalist conference moderated by Roland Martin, and Tom
- 14:54Speaker 1: said one of his biggest regrets Steve was not working
- 14:58Speaker 1: with you. Take a listen. I've got a couple of regrets.
- 15:04Speaker 1: We had the opportunity to put Steve under the umbrella, yep,
- 15:09Speaker 1: and egos got in the way, and we weren't that
- 15:14Speaker 1: far apart on money. It was all egos and and Steve. Um.
- 15:20Speaker 1: We we're gonna, We're gonna. Steve was gonna come under
- 15:23Speaker 1: the reach umbrella and we were gonna do a twin tower,
- 15:28Speaker 1: uh kind of strategy where it would be me and
- 15:32Speaker 1: me in the mornings and Steve in the afternoons. Egos
- 15:36Speaker 1: got in a way that deal didn't happen. Uh Noah didn't. Wow, man,
- 15:42Speaker 1: that was humbling parents that's a wow. That's a true statement.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Though that's exactly what happened. It was. It was egos
- 15:55Speaker 1: got in a way, and and I don't think it
- 15:58Speaker 1: was on Tom's Paul, I really don't. I think it
- 16:02Speaker 1: was on uh partnerships fault, you know, because I think
- 16:10Speaker 1: Tom and I had talked about it and it was
- 16:12Speaker 1: an idea that Tom bought to me, and uh, I
- 16:15Speaker 1: thought it was a good idea, and as we got
- 16:18Speaker 1: to talking about it, like he said, I think egos
- 16:21Speaker 1: got in the way. I don't. I don't think it
- 16:23Speaker 1: was Tom at all, because it was Tom's original idea
- 16:27Speaker 1: and uh, I think we were really talking about farming
- 16:30Speaker 1: a powerhouse, and I think egoes did get in the way.
- 16:34Speaker 1: I think people started talking about, you know, we don't
- 16:37Speaker 1: need him and you know he'll never Oh yeah, I
- 16:42Speaker 1: remember somebody from that side said in a roundabout way,
- 16:47Speaker 1: and it got to me, who who who on that side?
- 16:53Speaker 1: You don't know? Let me know who says something. It
- 16:55Speaker 1: wasn't Tom. It wasn't Tom, because I think this was
- 17:00Speaker 1: original idea. I think, I really do think Tom had
- 17:03Speaker 1: came up with the original idea and we were talking
- 17:06Speaker 1: about it. But I think what happened was somebody on
- 17:09Speaker 1: that side kind of got worried out that you know,
- 17:13Speaker 1: we don't need him and let him go. There's nowhere
- 17:16Speaker 1: him to go in mornings anyway, so we ain't got
- 17:18Speaker 1: to put up with this and we ain't got to
- 17:20Speaker 1: pay that, you know. And like Tom said, you know,
- 17:22Speaker 1: the money wasn't that far apart. You know, he's trying
- 17:25Speaker 1: to work it out, but you know, it takes some
- 17:27Speaker 1: more negotiating. But just some people up top started talking
- 17:32Speaker 1: and it kind of got back and you know, then
- 17:34Speaker 1: egos go, well, you know, he can't do this in
- 17:37Speaker 1: the mornings, and then uh wow, s yes I can.
- 17:42Speaker 1: But you know, I'll say this because I've heard of
- 17:44Speaker 1: Tom talking about retiring. But Tom Joiner man on the reel,
- 17:49Speaker 1: one of the great radio men, oh yeah, in African
- 17:54Speaker 1: American radio. A matter of fact, in all of radio,
- 17:57Speaker 1: Tom Joiner was doing it before any of us got started.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Oh he did it. At he did it, and awaited
- 18:04Speaker 1: none of us would ever even dream or boys and
- 18:08Speaker 1: afternoons himself from down I mean Chicago flying. Yeah, I
- 18:12Speaker 1: mean he was a bad boy. So you know that
- 18:16Speaker 1: a lot of props have to go to him being
- 18:19Speaker 1: the giant that he became in radio, and it's one
- 18:23Speaker 1: of the reasons I got into radio. Be honest, I'm
- 18:25Speaker 1: glad to hear you say that. Yeah, I'm glad to real. Yeah,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and we never knew this story. Actually, we never knew
- 18:31Speaker 1: the story, so to hear that. But stee, if you
- 18:33Speaker 1: have any regrets, I mean, Tom talked about regrets, and
- 18:35Speaker 1: I guess because he's retiring, you know, any and it
- 18:39Speaker 1: doesn't have to be with that particular deal or that partnership.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Just what are some of your biggest regrets? Do we
- 18:48Speaker 1: have time? Yeah? That was like how much time do
- 18:51Speaker 1: we have? Yeah? Yeah, man, let me think, let me,
- 18:55Speaker 1: let me, let me think for real. But then, you know,
- 19:01Speaker 1: sometimes people say they don't have any regrets because if
- 19:04Speaker 1: they do, then they wouldn't be the person they are today.
- 19:07Speaker 1: So there are two schools of thoughts on the regret.
- 19:10Speaker 1: You'd have done something you regret, though, come on, oh absolutely, man,
- 19:14Speaker 1: I mean, look, I understand that you know that that
- 19:18Speaker 1: statement does hold true, that if you hadn't have done
- 19:21Speaker 1: everything you did in the order that you did it,
- 19:24Speaker 1: you wouldn't be who you are today. And I definitely
- 19:26Speaker 1: adhere to that. But I'm telling you tho, Man, I
- 19:30Speaker 1: have regrets. Man, I regret. One of the first regrets
- 19:36Speaker 1: I had was the disappointment that I provided my mother
- 19:40Speaker 1: and father. Man, I really really disappointed them. Man, A
- 19:46Speaker 1: couple of times in life. It was just so disheartening. Man,
- 19:53Speaker 1: I lost five thousand dollars of my father's one time,
- 19:58Speaker 1: and Man, all that ripped his heart out, in my
- 20:03Speaker 1: heart out. And I saw how heard he was when
- 20:05Speaker 1: I lost his five thousand dollars. It was all he had,
- 20:09Speaker 1: and he gave it to me on the loan to
- 20:12Speaker 1: buy a carpet cleaning machine, and I lost it because
- 20:18Speaker 1: I couldn't make the bill, and so he got tired
- 20:20Speaker 1: of the bank calling, so he relinquished his CD. I
- 20:23Speaker 1: lost five thousand dollars my father. That's one of my
- 20:26Speaker 1: great regrets. And I spent the rest of my life
- 20:29Speaker 1: trying to make it up to him. I paid him
- 20:31Speaker 1: a lot more than five thousand back. I bet you did.
- 20:33Speaker 1: All right, Steve, we'll hold it right there. I think
- 20:35Speaker 1: everyone has a regret. We'll find out what Tommy's regret is,
- 20:39Speaker 1: what Junior's regret is, Carla's and mine. We'll talk about
- 20:42Speaker 1: it right after this. You're listening all right. Before we
- 20:48Speaker 1: went on break, Steve, we were talking about the fact
- 20:51Speaker 1: that Tom Joyner, one of our colleagues and friend, had
- 20:55Speaker 1: said that one of his biggest regrets was not going
- 20:58Speaker 1: into a deal with you at one time. He said
- 21:01Speaker 1: that it was almost done. Money wasn't even the problem,
- 21:03Speaker 1: but egos got in the way. And he didn't even
- 21:06Speaker 1: mean your ego or his ego. He just meant some
- 21:09Speaker 1: egos got in the way. And then we went on
- 21:12Speaker 1: from there to ask you what was one of your
- 21:14Speaker 1: biggest regrets, and boy, you told us yeah, Oh, a
- 21:18Speaker 1: heart wrenching story about I disappointed my father and my mother. Man,
- 21:22Speaker 1: I was one of my great hurts. I think. I
- 21:27Speaker 1: don't know, man, I've had a bunch of things I
- 21:29Speaker 1: wished I had not done. You know. I wish, man,
- 21:36Speaker 1: I had paid attention to my mother sooner about a
- 21:42Speaker 1: relationship with God. I really do, man, I could have
- 21:45Speaker 1: saved myself so much pain. Oh my goodness, man, have
- 21:52Speaker 1: I done a number on myself by not adhering to that.
- 21:56Speaker 1: But then we get right back to the fact that
- 22:00Speaker 1: had I not gone through what I went through, I
- 22:02Speaker 1: wouldn't be able to have the testimony that I have today.
- 22:05Speaker 1: So you know, it's it's tough when you got to
- 22:09Speaker 1: deal with regrets. Oh yeah, yeah, it really it's it's heavy,
- 22:14Speaker 1: it really is, and you'll end up beating yourself up
- 22:16Speaker 1: over something that you really can't change. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:20Speaker 1: But I mean, like you said, you spent the rest
- 22:22Speaker 1: of your life trying to make it, make it up
- 22:24Speaker 1: to him, and and your intentions were great, and I'm
- 22:27Speaker 1: sure you did, and I'm sure he forgave you, but
- 22:30Speaker 1: you never forgave yourself. No, yeah, and oh he forgot
- 22:34Speaker 1: all about it? Yeah, Or that boy shild so much
- 22:38Speaker 1: money to this house. I remember my mama sitting my
- 22:45Speaker 1: daddy out to LA when I was on me and
- 22:47Speaker 1: the boys, because I was sending money to the house.
- 22:51Speaker 1: My mom said, Slick, go out there and see what
- 22:53Speaker 1: that boy and got itself into because they ain't no
- 22:56Speaker 1: where in the will you telling jokes and making this
- 22:59Speaker 1: kind of money and us all this money every week.
- 23:02Speaker 1: And my daddy flew out there, she said, he said, son,
- 23:05Speaker 1: that talked to me. What you didn't got yourself into
- 23:07Speaker 1: is you're hustling or you're doing something like that. You
- 23:10Speaker 1: and in the streets with what you're doing so no.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I took him to the show and everything. Then I
- 23:15Speaker 1: showed him my paychecks though he said, you can't say
- 23:19Speaker 1: you want to stay on. I don't get the blank.
- 23:25Speaker 1: What you got to be bulled? No, I can't say it.
- 23:34Speaker 1: You make that a week? Yes? So what? I look
- 23:39Speaker 1: at him, Why didn't more money? I'm making a yell?
- 23:43Speaker 1: They pay you this a week? Yes? So that was it? Man?
- 23:50Speaker 1: What about y'all? You know what, Steve? My biggest regret regret,
- 23:54Speaker 1: if I'm honest, because I didn't finish college. If I
- 23:57Speaker 1: didn't go my whole four years. That my biggest regret.
- 24:01Speaker 1: And I always wanted to do that before my mom.
- 24:04Speaker 1: My mom passed away and I started going back to
- 24:08Speaker 1: school and I still, you know, haven't finished. But that
- 24:12Speaker 1: was my biggest regret that I didn't finish my yeah,
- 24:16Speaker 1: my four year degree. That was That's my biggest biggest regret.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I mean, I still have time to do it, but
- 24:22Speaker 1: that is my biggest regret. It is. I mean, I
- 24:25Speaker 1: wanted to be in radio so badly, I really did,
- 24:28Speaker 1: and I got the opportunity to be in radio while
- 24:31Speaker 1: I was in school. So I dropped out and took
- 24:34Speaker 1: a radio job and from there, it just you know,
- 24:36Speaker 1: exploded and that still dear good, that's what happened, you know,
- 24:40Speaker 1: but still, you know, you talk about regrets, that's my
- 24:43Speaker 1: big That is my biggest regret in life. That really
- 24:46Speaker 1: is surely I floked out of school. I ain't thought
- 24:49Speaker 1: about it. Three shirts made people feel better, yeah, right,
- 24:56Speaker 1: But you know I was her firstborn. I wanted to
- 24:59Speaker 1: make her proud and every and I think I eventually
- 25:01Speaker 1: I did that. But that, you know, that's my one regret.
- 25:06Speaker 1: That is my biggest regret. What about you? I think
- 25:10Speaker 1: my biggest regret is my mother when you know, just
- 25:14Speaker 1: growing up, you know, I was raised by my mom.
- 25:16Speaker 1: She encouraged me to try to have a better relationship
- 25:20Speaker 1: with my father, but I was very very angry and
- 25:24Speaker 1: my dad for a long time, you know what I mean,
- 25:27Speaker 1: and just thought my dad was trifling or you know
- 25:32Speaker 1: what we go through, you know, the issues that I
- 25:35Speaker 1: had with my father, and then when my father passed away.
- 25:41Speaker 1: You know, my mom passed away first, but when my
- 25:42Speaker 1: father passed away, I kind of you know, when I
- 25:45Speaker 1: went to his funeral and I spoke and it was like, dang,
- 25:49Speaker 1: I wish I had done you know, got to know
- 25:52Speaker 1: my dad a little bit better. And it wasn't that
- 25:54Speaker 1: long ago to Carla that your dear dad passed away. Yeah,
- 25:57Speaker 1: he passed away. My mom passed away in two thous
- 26:00Speaker 1: and four, and my dad passed away ten years later,
- 26:04Speaker 1: twenty fourteen. Yeah, wow, wow, yeah, this is but I
- 26:08Speaker 1: have a closer But you know what, but you know
- 26:11Speaker 1: what came from that. Though, I have a very very
- 26:13Speaker 1: close relationship now closer. I've always was close to my aunt,
- 26:17Speaker 1: my dad's sister. She lives in La. Yeah. Yeah, my aunt,
- 26:21Speaker 1: so we are that's my girl now so close and
- 26:26Speaker 1: she's teaching me so much about my dad's family. And
- 26:29Speaker 1: guess what, guys, my dad set me up when he died.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I'm talking checks were coming in from my dad and
- 26:37Speaker 1: I had no look at God, look at God. Yeah. Yeah,
- 26:42Speaker 1: so that's my regret, that the anger and trying, you know,
- 26:45Speaker 1: just to get to know my dad. But my mother
- 26:48Speaker 1: always try to encourage that. Then I mentioned I was
- 26:50Speaker 1: always in gifted and talented classes through school too, so
- 26:54Speaker 1: there was no excuse for me not to send me
- 26:58Speaker 1: that I did. I mention that, I mention that, you know,
- 27:11Speaker 1: they accidentally put me in special ed class for three weeks.
- 27:17Speaker 1: They had got some paperwork mixed up. I was down now,
- 27:20Speaker 1: raising my hand every time to teach your ass something.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I knew everything. Pop quiz is a test, A group
- 27:35Speaker 1: leader reading, group leader. Man, I'm the smartest boy. My
- 27:41Speaker 1: teacher went down in the office said, I think we
- 27:44Speaker 1: made a mistake. This boy does not appear to be
- 27:48Speaker 1: a special ed. They came to my room and told
- 27:50Speaker 1: me to come down and go the room fall six.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I went, what what is we going down the fall?
- 27:58Speaker 1: I'm getting all age? You don't even want understanding folk
- 28:00Speaker 1: plus folk. Oh you liked it down there, you got it?
- 28:11Speaker 1: Got it at something else? What's your biggest My biggest regret?
- 28:19Speaker 1: I think it is my grandmother not here to see
- 28:20Speaker 1: me today because she didn't believe Oh she didn't believe you. No, No,
- 28:26Speaker 1: I just wanted to show that I'm not making a mistake.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I know there's something different about me. Huh. And this
- 28:30Speaker 1: is what I'm born to do. And I wish first
- 28:34Speaker 1: comedian because I meant when I came in the house,
- 28:36Speaker 1: but I first thoughted. She said, how much we make
- 28:38Speaker 1: this week, mister comedian? Thirty five dollars hold a dough
- 28:46Speaker 1: and I wanted to see me today. Yeah, yeah, Julian, Yeah,
- 28:50Speaker 1: can I tell you something she sees you. That's the
- 28:55Speaker 1: good thing she sees man. All Right, we come back.
- 28:58Speaker 1: We're gonna hear from the food. We have to. We
- 29:01Speaker 1: have to all right, biggest regrets when we come back
- 29:05Speaker 1: right after this you're listening to all right, uh wow,
- 29:12Speaker 1: this morning turned interesting to an interesting turn. We're talking
- 29:16Speaker 1: about our biggest regrets in the morning show. Um, everyone
- 29:21Speaker 1: has something they regret, they wish they had done different
- 29:24Speaker 1: or better, not at all. And we've all been pouring
- 29:27Speaker 1: out our hearts basically about what our biggest regrets are.
- 29:31Speaker 1: And we've heard from everyone, and so now I just
- 29:34Speaker 1: tell everyone, you know, hold on because it's time for
- 29:38Speaker 1: the nephew and we want to find out. Nephew, what's
- 29:42Speaker 1: your biggest regret? My biggest regret. Yes, I'm gonna have
- 29:48Speaker 1: a regret for him. What is it? I think his
- 29:52Speaker 1: biggest Come on, come on, Betty, I think one of
- 29:59Speaker 1: him his biggest blass was not being as tall. I'm
- 30:05Speaker 1: pretty sure he can look back on his life all
- 30:09Speaker 1: this shot that little feeding small hands, you know, little
- 30:17Speaker 1: last Gi Joe clothes he's been wearing Joe control over
- 30:21Speaker 1: that scene. I know. That's how I know that's one
- 30:23Speaker 1: of his biggest regrets because he wished he could have
- 30:25Speaker 1: controlled that out there for a timing, because I know
- 30:29Speaker 1: where he's fitting to go. I said, okay, yeah, light low,
- 30:35Speaker 1: take this off my dog. You know, don't don't want
- 30:38Speaker 1: him down. They're hurting too bad, you know, because of Man,
- 30:41Speaker 1: I listen. But you know, it's a it's it's it's
- 30:45Speaker 1: a it's a thing man, when you are when you
- 30:48Speaker 1: talk about regrets, and because like we all know, you
- 30:51Speaker 1: can't redo any of it now. And if it had
- 30:56Speaker 1: not happened in the exact order that it did, none
- 30:59Speaker 1: of us would be who we are. True. And it
- 31:02Speaker 1: is these regrets that that tire us to a humbleness,
- 31:09Speaker 1: that tire us to a hunger, that tire us to
- 31:13Speaker 1: a memory that causes us to be better for it,
- 31:18Speaker 1: All of these regrets that we've expressed, the memory of
- 31:22Speaker 1: these regrets has caused us to change and become better people. Yeah,
- 31:28Speaker 1: all of us. And that's why people some people say
- 31:31Speaker 1: they have no regrets, No, because you gotta get it
- 31:35Speaker 1: in that it all had to happen, man, Yeah, yeah,
- 31:38Speaker 1: you know you you you. You had to leave school.
- 31:42Speaker 1: You you had to not give your father a chance.
- 31:46Speaker 1: You had to your grandmother had to not see you
- 31:51Speaker 1: make it for you to really get that. Tommy dealing
- 31:53Speaker 1: with his father, the loss of his father. But his
- 31:57Speaker 1: father made him who he is a day. Yes, without
- 32:01Speaker 1: without tommy father, he ain't to do what he is today.
- 32:05Speaker 1: All the mass whip presumed checks and balances. Yeah, them
- 32:08Speaker 1: tough fans, moments many pick forcast. You know, I think
- 32:13Speaker 1: I thank God for all these ass whippers, every las
- 32:16Speaker 1: one of the walls I thought I unfairly got. Yeah. Yeah,
- 32:21Speaker 1: guess what that teaches you to understand that life ain't
- 32:24Speaker 1: always not always some time he jeff fucking man. But
- 32:27Speaker 1: get up and get on with it all right. See,
- 32:30Speaker 1: we're in a good place, but we got to move on,
- 32:32Speaker 1: keep the show moving. Time from Missan ladies and gentlemen,
- 32:35Speaker 1: Miss Ann Tripp, thank you very much, everybody. Good morning.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Yes we do have our regrets, but they do make
- 32:42Speaker 1: us better. This is a trip with the news. President
- 32:44Speaker 1: Trump has called off plans plan talks with the Taliban,
- 32:47Speaker 1: and some Middle East observers say there might be another
- 32:50Speaker 1: wave of violence because of it. In Afghanistan, at least
- 32:52Speaker 1: as a result, but Trump said he had to cancel.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Jim David would have been a good place. But I
- 32:57Speaker 1: don't want to meet under circumstances where they go around
- 32:59Speaker 1: to try and make themselves a little bit more important
- 33:02Speaker 1: by killing a soldier by actually also a great NATO
- 33:07Speaker 1: soldier in addition to our soldier, and also a total
- 33:11Speaker 1: of twelve people. I don't want that. It might also
- 33:13Speaker 1: been inconvenient because it was supposed to take place this
- 33:17Speaker 1: week in September eleventh around that time, so that might
- 33:20Speaker 1: have also not had a good look to it. The
- 33:22Speaker 1: Talban was supposed to be finalizing a deal with the
- 33:24Speaker 1: US to close eighteen years of fighting. No word now
- 33:27Speaker 1: when or if it talks of resume. Fifty state attorneys
- 33:30Speaker 1: general have launched an investigation to Google to see if
- 33:33Speaker 1: Google's been acting like a monopoly, in other words, too
- 33:36Speaker 1: good at squashing its opponents. Thousands of Bahamians are now
- 33:39Speaker 1: on US soil after being evacuated from the devastation left
- 33:43Speaker 1: by Hurricane Dorium. Meanwhile, Behaming UN officials say there is
- 33:46Speaker 1: no clean drinking water or electricity, and only one functioning
- 33:50Speaker 1: ambulance on Grand Bahama Island. Us AID administrator Mark Green
- 33:54Speaker 1: says it's tremendous suffering and devastations. There are parts of
- 33:57Speaker 1: Abaco and the Bahamas that own show a great deal
- 34:01Speaker 1: of damage, and then there are clusters and communities that
- 34:03Speaker 1: were devastated, almost as though nuclear bombs were dropped on them.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Green says that USAID has sent about three million dollars
- 34:10Speaker 1: to the islands to help provide clean water, sanitation, and
- 34:13Speaker 1: emergency shelters and communities in South Florida trying to help. Also,
- 34:17Speaker 1: Dorian took a slap at Canada on Sunday, heading out
- 34:20Speaker 1: to sea, where it's expected to fizzle out today. A
- 34:23Speaker 1: federal judge in California has reinstated his nationwide injunction against
- 34:28Speaker 1: new Trump administration policy that denies asylum to migrants who
- 34:32Speaker 1: arrive at our southern border after traveling through a third country.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Trump officials want to deny asylum to people from Central
- 34:38Speaker 1: America and elsewhere who passed through other countries, in other words,
- 34:41Speaker 1: without asking for protection in those countries before coming to
- 34:45Speaker 1: the United States. Americans civil the Americans CIVILIPTI Junior ACLU
- 34:50Speaker 1: is praising the judge's injunction. Is praising that he's stopping that.
- 34:54Speaker 1: The US Coast Guard began pulling trapped crew members out
- 34:57Speaker 1: of a Chicago ship that capsize off Georgia Coast on
- 35:00Speaker 1: Sunday in court fire. As of yesterday, twenty people have
- 35:04Speaker 1: been rescued from that sinking vessel in Chicago. This is
- 35:07Speaker 1: a sad one, now horrible one. Jury selection, though, does
- 35:10Speaker 1: begin this week in the murder trial for two of
- 35:13Speaker 1: the three men charged with the deliberate murder of a
- 35:16Speaker 1: nine year old boy, the nine year old son of
- 35:19Speaker 1: a purported gang member in twenty fifteen and attacked that
- 35:22Speaker 1: prosecutors say was meant to send a message to the
- 35:24Speaker 1: father they killed. They say his nine year old child.
- 35:28Speaker 1: The killing of Tayshawn Lee shocked and disgusted the community
- 35:31Speaker 1: in Chicago. Authorities say the fourth grader was actually lured
- 35:34Speaker 1: away from a playground and into an alley that he
- 35:38Speaker 1: was shot and killed. Again. Jury selection begins this week
- 35:42Speaker 1: in that case. Former strongman south Zunbabwe strongman mcgabe Robert
- 35:51Speaker 1: mcgabey is being He's going to be funeralized this week
- 35:54Speaker 1: on Sunday. Actually he died in Singapore. His body due
- 35:57Speaker 1: back in Zimbabwe tomorrow today National Trial. It look day,
- 36:01Speaker 1: So you vote, okay, and now back to the Steve
- 36:03Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. You're listening too well. President Trump took
- 36:10Speaker 1: to Twitter to bash Justice for All for not giving
- 36:14Speaker 1: him and the Republicans credit for passing the First Step Act.
- 36:18Speaker 1: When all of the people pushing so hard for criminal
- 36:20Speaker 1: justice reform were unable to come even close to getting
- 36:23Speaker 1: it done, they came to me as a group and
- 36:26Speaker 1: asked for my help, he wrote, after bragging about getting
- 36:29Speaker 1: it done and saying that President Barack Obama couldn't come close.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Then he started in on John Legend. Guys like boring
- 36:37Speaker 1: music musician John Legend and his filthy mouth wife are
- 36:41Speaker 1: talking now about how great it is. But I didn't
- 36:44Speaker 1: see them around when we needed help getting it passed.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? So this is from the President
- 36:51Speaker 1: of the United States, Then I hate to tell you this.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Then your last six buildings, yeah, well they mostly with
- 37:00Speaker 1: But I'm gonna just tell you the truth. Now, John
- 37:03Speaker 1: Legend has made money man, and he's a great, very
- 37:06Speaker 1: successful Yeah. But the activists, yes, but you're right, and
- 37:10Speaker 1: that's the issue. But but the fact that the President
- 37:14Speaker 1: of the United States has time and how do you
- 37:17Speaker 1: say something negative about his wife, Come on, low, can
- 37:21Speaker 1: you go? But you know Chrissy Tigan, now she's not
- 37:24Speaker 1: gonna let that stand. She will clap back. She clapped
- 37:28Speaker 1: back at the president. She tweeted, Lol what a blank
- 37:30Speaker 1: blank b word tagged everyone but me and honor mister President.
- 37:38Speaker 1: She went in, Yeah she did, since she wanted nasty mouth.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Here it is. Yeah now this is according to TMZ,
- 37:44Speaker 1: Trump blocked Chrissy Tigan on Twitter back in twenty seventeen.
- 37:48Speaker 1: The Federal Appeals Court has since rule Trump can't block
- 37:51Speaker 1: people from his official Twitter account, but it's unclear if
- 37:54Speaker 1: he is unblocked Chrissy. John Legend posted a message to
- 37:58Speaker 1: Melanie A. Trump to base, come get her man and
- 38:01Speaker 1: give him the attention to praise. He's so desperately craving
- 38:07Speaker 1: woe right now because see what you don't do is
- 38:12Speaker 1: you can't come for a cash wife now. Now. But
- 38:16Speaker 1: you know, man, this president, did you hear this stuff?
- 38:19Speaker 1: He don't want the Bohemian refugees that are trying to
- 38:23Speaker 1: come to America because they're all drug dealers and gang members.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Everybody that's a color is a drug dealer and a
- 38:34Speaker 1: gang banger. Yeah, question mark, like like they're escaping the
- 38:41Speaker 1: brutality of a dictator in the Bahamas. No, sir, they
- 38:46Speaker 1: have no where to go. Land was decimated and now
- 38:53Speaker 1: he don't want to receive them because they are drug
- 38:57Speaker 1: dealers and gang bangers and way to get your base.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Ryle too, that's the way to get your base riled up.
- 39:03Speaker 1: That's exactly what is full. Coming up at thirty four
- 39:08Speaker 1: after the hour, Junior is here with his Trump predictions. Okay,
- 39:12Speaker 1: we can't wait for that, right, I've been thanking you're
- 39:17Speaker 1: listening to all right, So Steve, people are still shaking
- 39:22Speaker 1: their head about Trump's claim that Hurricane Dorian was going
- 39:26Speaker 1: to hit Alabama, and they're also saying that Commerce secretary
- 39:30Speaker 1: the Commerce Secretary threatened to fire people if they contradicted
- 39:34Speaker 1: Trump's hurricane claim. Well, with all of that being said,
- 39:37Speaker 1: Junior is here with more Trump predictions. Let's see him. Well,
- 39:42Speaker 1: you know, Trump took the sharpie and extended the cause
- 39:46Speaker 1: and saying it's go hit Alabama. Now, if you wanted
- 39:48Speaker 1: to do that, you're gonna tell us all that were crazy.
- 39:52Speaker 1: We see what Dorian's going, But you want to say
- 39:54Speaker 1: that there's some most ignorant statements you'll make, like, for one,
- 39:57Speaker 1: what Netflix is going to make up with Monique that's
- 40:04Speaker 1: not gonna have He's say it, He's say. Here another
- 40:09Speaker 1: prediction he will probably make. There will be an old

- 41:13Speaker 1: He'll probably another prediction. Now Mike Tyson and Jedeth Brown
- 41:18Speaker 1: will all stop smoking weed. And it's probably what he
- 41:26Speaker 1: really want to say. Trump will that man he has
- 41:29Speaker 1: a man crushed for Barackobamba. Yes to say it, Yeah,
- 41:33Speaker 1: don't say every day it really is jealous of the
- 41:39Speaker 1: love that Barack Obama had. Yes, true, Why he just

- 42:05Speaker 1: predict this too. He'll confess OJ did it? Who? Yeah? Yeah, Well,

- 45:54Speaker 1: can refresh your memory because you're constantly asking her about
- 45:57Speaker 1: how things used to be. I remember when we did this,
- 46:00Speaker 1: Remember when we did that. You know, it's a whole
- 46:03Speaker 1: lot of remember this and not and and you asking her,

- 53:15Speaker 1: we could be reading your letter on the air, and
- 53:17Speaker 1: you could be hearing your letter on the air because
- 53:19Speaker 1: we're gonna read it right here, right now. Let's do it.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Buckle up, hold on tight. We got it for you here.
- 53:23Speaker 1: It is subject to I can't help it. I'm a hater.
- 53:27Speaker 1: H Dear Stephen Shirley, Harry time I say that she
- 53:30Speaker 1: left Charlett, Dear Stephen Shirley. I love myself very much,
- 53:36Speaker 1: and I love most of my family, but I developed
- 53:40Speaker 1: this deep, dark hatred for my sister. You see, my
- 53:44Speaker 1: sister has the life I prayed for. I turned to
- 53:47Speaker 1: God and asked God to bless me with the husband
- 53:50Speaker 1: with all the qualities her husband has. God gave this
- 53:54Speaker 1: wonderful man to my sister, and my sister has never
- 53:57Speaker 1: prayed for anything. She did not even want to be
- 54:01Speaker 1: in a relationship. When she met her husband. He is
- 54:03Speaker 1: a good man and they are talking about starting a
- 54:06Speaker 1: family soon. She prayed for it nothing. She's not very
- 54:10Speaker 1: religious and she sends all the time, but God still
- 54:14Speaker 1: gave her the life I prayed for. Because of that,
- 54:17Speaker 1: I developed this deep jealousy for her, and it just
- 54:21Speaker 1: turned to hate. It's hard for me to be in
- 54:23Speaker 1: the same room with my sister and her husband. They
- 54:26Speaker 1: made a joke recently about me being single and in
- 54:28Speaker 1: my mid thirties, so it caused me to hate her
- 54:31Speaker 1: even more. I have a lot of friends that are
- 54:34Speaker 1: in relationships and married, but I don't feel this way
- 54:37Speaker 1: about them. I have a little jealousy towards them, but
- 54:40Speaker 1: it's not as bad. I've dated a few guys here
- 54:43Speaker 1: and there, but they aren't looking for a serious relationship,
- 54:46Speaker 1: and after I sleep with them, there is usually no
- 54:49Speaker 1: more communication after that. I'm not picky at all, but
- 54:53Speaker 1: I haven't gotten anywhere in my prayers for a good man.
- 54:56Speaker 1: My sister has received all of my blessings with her
- 54:59Speaker 1: sinful I'm losing my faith now because God ignores me.
- 55:03Speaker 1: I am still single with no real possibilities of finding love.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Please tell me how I can get back on track
- 55:10Speaker 1: with my faith and stop hating my sister for having
- 55:12Speaker 1: the ideal life that's mine. Wow. All right, Well, first
- 55:18Speaker 1: of all, you lied to us, okay, in the very
- 55:20Speaker 1: first line you lied to us in this letter, it says,
- 55:23Speaker 1: dear Stephen Shirley, I love myself very much. No you don't. No,
- 55:28Speaker 1: you don't. And this letter is full of receipts that
- 55:31Speaker 1: prove you don't love or respect yourself at all. For instance,
- 55:36Speaker 1: self respect, you say you're not picky at all, You're
- 55:40Speaker 1: not looking guys, aren't looking for a serious relationship. And
- 55:43Speaker 1: after you sleep with them, so sounds like you're just
- 55:46Speaker 1: sleeping with guys, they don't communicate after all, And that's
- 55:50Speaker 1: okay with you. You couldn't love yourself and let yourself
- 55:55Speaker 1: be treated this way, Okay, So contradictions all in this letter.
- 55:59Speaker 1: This letter is not about your sister. You got to
- 56:01Speaker 1: understand that this letter is about you. You're a relationship
- 56:05Speaker 1: with God, You're a trust of God. You're judgmental. You're
- 56:07Speaker 1: not supposed to be judgmental. You know that you're hateful.
- 56:10Speaker 1: You don't understand. You don't understand. What's for you is
- 56:14Speaker 1: for you. Okay, God loves us all the same. It's
- 56:17Speaker 1: what's for you is for you, don't you know? You're
- 56:19Speaker 1: supposed to be happy for your sister that she's happy
- 56:22Speaker 1: with her husband, she's happy in her marriage. And your
- 56:24Speaker 1: friends that are marriage you're hating on them too. You're
- 56:26Speaker 1: supposed to be happy for them, not saying they got
- 56:29Speaker 1: all my blessings. Those are their blessings. Okay, they're not
- 56:33Speaker 1: your blessings. You are a miserable person. You're a miserable person.
- 56:39Speaker 1: You hate yourself, and you hate everyone else around you.
- 56:43Speaker 1: You're looking at their lives and wondering why you don't
- 56:45Speaker 1: have that. Maybe that's why, because you're too busy paying
- 56:49Speaker 1: attention to what they got going on and not paying
- 56:51Speaker 1: attention to what you have going on. This girl, get
- 56:57Speaker 1: it together. That's your sister. You're not supposed to be
- 57:00Speaker 1: hating on her like that, or anyone else for that matter.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Learn how to love yourself first, and then you can
- 57:06Speaker 1: love other people. It won't be so hard. Steve. Wow,
- 57:11Speaker 1: this letter right here, this crazy. It's got so much
- 57:14Speaker 1: crazy stuff in it. It just starts crazy. Shirley, you
- 57:21Speaker 1: said something about she lied in the letter, she doesn't
- 57:24Speaker 1: love herself very much. I agree with you, but let me,
- 57:27Speaker 1: let me, let me take a different look at this.
- 57:30Speaker 1: I love myself very much right there, And then you said,
- 57:36Speaker 1: and I love most of my family, but right what
- 57:41Speaker 1: Wait a minute, hold up, you remember how your mama
- 57:45Speaker 1: told you once? You say, but it negates everything you
- 57:48Speaker 1: said prior to that for it. I love myself very much,
- 57:52Speaker 1: and I love most of my family, but I've developed
- 57:55Speaker 1: this deep, dark hatred for my system. This whole statement
- 58:01Speaker 1: is filled with contradiction. I love myself very much, I
- 58:07Speaker 1: love most of my family. I've developed a deep dog
- 58:11Speaker 1: hatred for my sister. Wow. Okay, you see, you trip it.
- 58:18Speaker 1: You see my sister has the life I prayed for. No,
- 58:20Speaker 1: she don't. No. Okay, if your sister has the life
- 58:27Speaker 1: you prayed for, do you understand how this works? Right here?
- 58:32Speaker 1: You hated your sister so much that the life you
- 58:37Speaker 1: prayed for God gave it to her. Because you're so
- 58:43Speaker 1: dog gonna hateful. Why would he give it to you?
- 58:46Speaker 1: What your heart feel? With all this hate you, God,
- 58:49Speaker 1: you ain't gonna be able to treat it right. I
- 58:52Speaker 1: turned to God and ask God to bless me with
- 58:54Speaker 1: her husband, with all the qualities her husband had. God
- 58:58Speaker 1: gave this wonderful man to my sister. This man didn't
- 59:02Speaker 1: won't you? The man didn't won't you. You just say
- 59:09Speaker 1: it in your letter. When you sleep with men after
- 59:14Speaker 1: you sleep with him is no communication. Not only don't
- 59:19Speaker 1: this man won't you, but none of the men you
- 59:23Speaker 1: slept with won't you? Girl? Girl, I got so much
- 59:29Speaker 1: to pick out of this letter. I know, all right.
- 59:32Speaker 1: We'll hold it right there, Steve, hold it right there.
- 59:34Speaker 1: I know this letter is upsetting. It is because she's crazy.
- 59:38Speaker 1: We'll let part two of Steve's response coming up at
- 59:40Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. Today's subject, I can't help it.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I'm a hater. We'll be back right after this. You're
- 59:48Speaker 1: listening to, all right, Steve, Come on, let's recap today's
- 59:54Speaker 1: Strawberry letter. Subject I can't help it. I'm a hater.
- 59:57Speaker 1: It's hard to recap. Here's a woman whose sister has
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: the life she wants. And now she hate her sister,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: and she mad at God. She said, your sister has
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: the life I prayed for. I turned to God, ask
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: God to bless me with her husband, with all the
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: qualities her husband has. God gave this wonderful man to
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: my sister. My sister has never prayed for anything. How
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: you know? How do you know? Your sister ain't prayed
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: for nothing. She did not even want to be in
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: a relationship when she met her husband. That's usually how
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: it happens. Love just walks up to you. She wasn't
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: out there looking for nothing, she wasn't hunting. She got found.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: He's a good man, and they talking about starting a family.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: That's what people do when they get married and they
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: in love with each other. She prayed for nothing. How
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: do you know that? She's not very religious? How do
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: you know that? And she sinds all the time, and
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: everybody do everybody do what you? You? You're tripping. She
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: prayed for nothing. She's not very religious and she sins
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: all the time. You just described everybody else, including your
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: damn self. But God still gave her the life. I
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: prayed fault. God ain't finna give you nothing. Because you're
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: too hate fault. Because of that, I developed this deep
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: jealousy for her. Oh, you hateful and you're jealous for her,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: and it just turned to hate. Let me ask you something.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: When you type this letter, did you read it? Did
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: you did you read this? Twe to God. This letter
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: is so damn crazy. There's not a breath in this letter.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: There's not a line where you breathe. Because of that,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: I developed this deep jealousy for her to turn into hate.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: It's hard for me. Listen, every letter is filled with hate.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: It's hard for being the same room with my sister
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: and her husband. They made a joke recently, Oh some lefty,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Here comes some levity, y'all. They made a joke recently
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: about me being single and then my mid thirty so
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: it caused me to hate her even more. Hate for
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: help you is a hate for help. And then here
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: we go. Oh, here's a bright spot. I have a
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: lot of friends that are in relationships and married. That's
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: a bright spot ready, But I don't feel the same
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: way about them. Oh, I have a little jealousy towards him,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: but it ain't as bad. I only have hate their ass.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Here we go. You're ready for some more. I've dated
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: a few guys here and now, but they are looking
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: for a serious relationship, and after I sleep with him,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: there's usually no more communication after that. Damn. So now
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: you so you so hate for you? Your your sex
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: ain't even good? You have hate for sex? Have hey,
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: take it, take it, get it to love me? Loving me?
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Yet you want to stay with me the rest of
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: your life? Take this thing I'm giving you. Y'all. Y'all,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: y'all want to go buy me a rain? Now? Wow,
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: I've dated a few guys serious relationship. I sleep with them.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: There's usually no more communication of that. I'm not picky
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: at all. What so now you're sleeping with anybody anything?
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: But I haven't gotten anywhere in my prayers for a
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: good man. Okay, excuse me, Where in your prayers for
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: this good man does God tell you to go out
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: and sleep with men that you ain't even picky or
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: particular about and have sex with them which ain't gonna
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: be good sex? Because you you have angry sex. You're evil,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: you have hateful I don't want no more. My sister
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: has received all my blessings. No she didn't. Your sister
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: got the blessings that God was gonna give her. What
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: God has for her is not for you. God ain't
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: gave nothing to her that He intended to give to you.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: He not giving you nothing because you hateful. My sister
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: received all my blessings with her sinful self. Wow, I
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: am losing my faith now because God ignores me. You
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: don't have no faith. You ain't losing it. It's gone.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: God ain't in you at all. You've taken, You removed
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: the space for God to exist in you with hatred.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: I'm still single with no real possibilities of finding love.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: And because of that statement right there, you never will.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: You keep putting negative everybody out in the universe and
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: you expect positivity to return. Are you? Are you crazy?
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Please tell me how I can get back on track
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: with my faith. You need to go to a good
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: faith based church, just like Joel Osteen say. You need
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: to pick up your Bible. You need to stop hating
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: your sister. You have the life that you've thought and
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: prayed yourself to. Let me give you a scripture right quick.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: James four and three says you ask and receive, not
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: because you ask a miss You know what that means
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: when you keep asking God for something and God don't
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: give it to you. It's because you keep asking with
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: the wrong of intentions. That's right, wrong, the wrong motivation.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Your whole motivation in life is wrong. That's why God
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: ain't gonna bless you. Because you so hateful, love and done.

- 1:09:25Speaker 1: to the Steven Show, all right? Uh. An anti LGBT
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: group is boycotting Whole Foods. We all know Whole Foods,
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: the chain, the grocery chain, Whole Foods. Uh. They're saying
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: that Whole Foods is in doctrinating children into transgenderism and
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: homosexuality by hosting a storytelling hour with drag queens. Uh.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: The group is called One Million Moms. It has previously
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: protested Toy Story four for presenting a lesbian couple. Issued
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: the call to action on his web site after a
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: Drag Queen Story Hour took place at a public library
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: in Atlanta. Whole Foods Drag Queen Story Hour, one Million Moms.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Atlanta mayor Keisha Bottoms appeared at Pride Month edition of
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Drag Queen Story Hour with Miss Terra Cotta Sugar Baker
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: and she was joined. They were joined at the event.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: After the initial complaints, the storytelling session was allegedly removed
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: from the libraries public calendars listings, but was not canceled.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: Now drag Queen story Hours guys have taken place at
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: libraries nationwide. This has been going on for the past
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: few years. They've had colorful performers reading fairy tales and
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: other age appropriate stories, but opponents attacked the events as
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: inappropriate for children. They're saying that children shouldn't be seeing this.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: They say disturbing events involved men dressed up as women
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: who read LGBTQ themed books to young children under the
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: guys of performing a pub like service. Now one million moms,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: this is their claim. They say. Some drag queens have
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: admitted their goal is to groom the next generation. The
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: group warned that those who continue to shop at Whole
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Foods they are supporting child exploitation, which this corporation apparently
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: contributes to and endorses. I gotta think I think called

- 1:11:41Speaker 1: that's nice turf. They got in the super Donor at
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: the same player. You know that I ain't never got

- 1:11:52Speaker 1: we're talking about one million moms. They're a group. Yeah,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: they're Queen story. They want people in Atlanta to boycott
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: Whole Foods because of the drag Queen story outward they

- 1:12:31Speaker 1: Griffin has roast Caitlyn Jenner at the Alec Baldwin Comedy Central. Roast. Um,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: take a listen, look for Rell. I know we're all
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: here making fun of Caitlin, but honestly, I want to
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: take this moment to publicly thank you as an athlete.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: I want to thank you for your bravery, um and
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: as a as a human, I want to thank you
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: for the doors you've opened and on behalf of the
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: entire NBA and half of the rappers on the billboard charts.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: I want to thank you for giving your daughters their
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: daddy issues. Wow, m my mama had a daughter. Yeah,

- 1:13:56Speaker 1: the hour, right after this, I ain't going back and
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: frost you're listening to all right, here's something we can
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: all comment on or think about. If you could be
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: the best player in any sport, what sport would that be?
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: We all know, the NFL is the most popular sport football.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: Of course, that's the most popular sport in the land.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: But the players are mostly unseen because they wear helmets. Okay,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: and they get hit a lot. Uh, it's not ideal.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: NBA players have a good gig, but playing basketball still
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: involves a lot of running around, you know, a lot
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: of running. So, guys, if you were to be the
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: best player in any sport, what would that be? Steve
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: got to be basketball? Give a damn what that survey said,
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: you'd run around running around? What you want to do? What?
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: I won't be no damn baseball player. Get out then
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: you're out there every third inn. It won't be out
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: there for that. What about junior? I want to be
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: no damn hockey will run my ass up in that
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: wall were fighting. Some teeth will be knocked out sitting
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: up here and playing no dry ass soccer one to nothing.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: Been out here ninety eight minutes running them down. I
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: ain't even kicked the damn ball. Kick the man. Just
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: get this ball in this net? Best, but you can't
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: throw it in there? What about you, junior? Coming up?
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: Basketball and the ladies they're comet win it? Okay? All right, Okay,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: what right about me? Honestly sumo wrestling, you know, at
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: least you Nick Hand? All right, all right, coming up
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: more fun, more music, more ignorance on the Steve Harvey
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Morning Show. We'll be back right after this. You're listening
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: morning show. Well, President Trump took to Twitter to bash
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: Justice for All for not giving him and the Republicans
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: credit for passing the First Step Act. When all of
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: you people pushing so hard for criminal justice reform were
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: unable to come even close to getting it done, they
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: came to me as a group and asked for my help,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: he wrote, after bragging about getting it done and saying
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: that President Barack Obama couldn't come close. Then he started
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: in on John Legend. Guys like boring music musician John
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: Legend and his filthy mouth wife are talking now about
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: how great it is. But I didn't see them around
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: when we needed help getting it passed. Are you kidding me?
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: This is from the President of the United States. Oh then,
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: I hate to tell you this. Then your last six buildings, yeah,
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: well they mostly with bankrupt When I'm gonna just tell
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: you the truth. Now, John Legend has made money man,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: and he's a great very successful. But the activists, Yes,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: but you're right, and that the issue. But but the
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: fact that the president of the United States has time
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: and how do you say something negative about his wife?
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: Come on, dude, low can you go? But you know
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: Chrissy Tigan now she's not gonna let that stand. She
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: will clap back. She clapped back at the President. She tweeted,
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: Lol what a blank blank b word, tagged everyone but
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: me and honor mister president went in. Yeah she did.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: He says she wanted nasty mouth. It is yeah, now
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: this is according to TMZ, Trump blocked Chrissy Teagan on
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Twitter back in twenty seventeen. The Federal Appeals Court has
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: since ruled Trump can't block people from his official Twitter account,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: but it's unclear if he is unblocked. Chrissy John Legend
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: posted a message to Melania Trump to basically come get
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: her man and give him the attention and praise he's
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: so desperately craving. Wow. Yeah, See what you don't do
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: is you can't come for a cash wife. Now, now
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: you know, man, this president did you hear this stuff?
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: He don't want the Bohemian refugees that are trying to
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: come to it America because they're all drug dealers and
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: gang members. Everybody that's a color is a drug dealer
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: and a gang banger. Yeah. Yeah, and he's not a
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: racist question mark like like they're escaping the brutality of
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: a dictator in the Bahamas. No, sir, they have no
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: where to go, right, the island was decimated and now
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: he don't want to receive them because they are drug
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: dealers and gang bangers. And way to get your base
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: rile too. That's the way to get your base riled up.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: That's exactly what it's for. Coming up next, coming up,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: our last break of the day and some closing remarks
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: from Steve Harvey at forty nine minutes after the hour.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening Skin Morning Show. All right,
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: here we are, last break of the day, Another fine
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: day on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Yeah, thank you
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: so much listening. We appreciate your business every day. Yeah,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: thank you, We love you. All right, Steve, you're up
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: closing remarks. What you got? Yeah, you know, um, more
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: and more. I try to share things that I learned
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: as I pick them up, you know, I try to, oh,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: you know, when I'm talking to people about my faith
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: in my walk. I guess I used myself as an
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: example because I want to I try to simplify it
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: for people, because man, so many people are get turned
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: off with a traditional religion. And there's nothing wrong with church. Man.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: I think that church is one of the great institutions,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: uh that that's that's ever been around, you know, But
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: some people can't get there. Some people get turned off
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: by people in the church when it's really the relationship
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: with God that you try to foster. But there are
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: some people in churches that can be quite a turn off.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: And you trying to find the peace you're looking for
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: in your life or the answers you're looking for in
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: your life because you go to this building and somebody
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: in the building ain't really a good example of Christian
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: or whatever your faith is, and all of a sudden
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: they come in and they did they full of more
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: devil than being at a club. Sometimes. So what I
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: what I try to offer people through my own little
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: form of testimonies, to show you that you can have
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: this walk with God just the way you are, that
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: you don't have to try to fix yourself to have
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: this relationship that you got to start somewhere and God,
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: God deal with regular people all the time. God just
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: don't deal with the people that consider themselves holy. God
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: deal with regular people. God take regular people in tournament
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: the heroes. God take regular people. The Bible is full
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: of stories of regular people that God are used as
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: an example, people who showed extraordinary exhibitions of faith and hope.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: And so I just try to share with the people
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: stuff that I learned along the way. One of the
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: things I was learning, man, was I had to really
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: learn to accept each day just as it came to me.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: And that's what I want to share with you today.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: You gotta, people, we gotta start accepting the day as
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: it comes to you. Do not waste your time and
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: energy wishing for a different set of circumstances, because it's
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: not going to happen. Do you know how much time
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: and energy you burn wishing things weren't the way they were.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Do you know how much time and energy you wished
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: hoping something was different? And there's no way it can
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: be different. We're spending too much time with that. You
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: got to accept the things in the day that you
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: can't do anything about, and and remember you and remember
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: something man, that instead of that, start trusting in the
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: process that God has a special design and a special
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: purpose for you even with this difficulties. Man, you got
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: to trust in the process. His plan for you is
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: different from my plan. It's different from your mother's plan.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: It's different from all your friends plans. But don't so
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: don't spend that much time and energy like so many
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: of us do, like I've done. I can't count the
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: times I did it, man, wishing certain circumstances weren't the circumstances,
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: but they Oh it is what it is. Now what
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: you're gonna do about it? This could be an opportunity
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: for you to get closer to God. Sometimes trials and
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: tribulations and things come out way because God just wants
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: us to be closer to it. You know how people
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: getting aggravated all the time. People kill me when they
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: say this. He went to prison, he found the Lord.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: He had to wait till he went to prison and
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: found the Lord. Okay, okay, but he found him. No. See,
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: everybody ain't got to go to prison to find him.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: You know how I found him. I found him living
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: in a car. You know how house I found him.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: I found him when he took everything from me twice.
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: You know how I found him. I found him out
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: to two divorces man, when when it just looked like
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: I wasn't gonna rise no more. And guess what, I
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: keep finding him over and over and over again. I
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: keep finding how great he really is. Every time a
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: hardship come in my life, I find out a little
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: bit more about it. I find out just how powerful,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: how forgiving, how loving, how merciful, how graceful he really is.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: Every time something happened, when they write me off and
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: he lift me up again. I keep finding out about
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: him every day I wake up how good he really is,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: So don't worry about the brother. They go to prison
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: and find it. And now he want to tell me
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: about the Lord. He's been sitting in a cell. Well
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: maybe that's what it took. Maybe that's what it took.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: But the same thing it took for him to find
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: the Lord, something gonna happen to you to make you
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: find him too. And sometimes, like I said, you need
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: them trials and them tribulations to get you in a
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: better place. These trials and tribulations ain't to break you in,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: to destroy you. It's to strengthen you. You need. All
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: of this is to draw you closer. You think about it,
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: you wouldn't even go to God if you didn't need him.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: Must be talking to myself. I know I wouldn't have
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: if everything went right for me my whole life. You
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: think I'll be talking to God all the time now
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: because I got everything, But I need him know, and
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: it pushed me to him, and I'm glad it did.
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: So remember stop tripping about your circumstances. Man, get yourself
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: in contact with your creator. God loves you, want some
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: relationship with you. Sometimes these trials and tribulations is to
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: get that relationship. Okay, those are my closing remarks. I
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: hope I ain't step on nobody's told y'all have a
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: great weekend. Talk to God. He'd loved to hear from
