  I'm thinking today of the verse in Mark, it's

  chapter 11, verse 3. It's as Jesus is getting

  ready to come into Jerusalem, and it says, If

  anyone says to you, Why are you doing this? You

  say, The Lord has need of it, and immediately
• 0:16
  he will send it back here. And so he's telling
• 0:18
  them to go and get what he needed, and that if
• 0:22
  someone questioned about why they were taking
• 0:23
  it, that they'd be able to say, well, the Lord
• 0:26
  has need of it, and that the person would say,
• 0:28
  okay, that's fine. The directions here by Jesus
• 0:30
  are pretty explicit. In this specific verse,
• 0:33
  he's covering what to do if someone asks. Being
• 0:35
  equipped with what to do if someone asks is contributive
• 0:39
  to comfort, and it removes anxiety. I suppose
• 0:42
  they should not have had an anxiety about being
• 0:45
  told what to do by Jesus because he was Jesus.

  Also, being given explicit direction by Jesus
• 0:50
  makes it less likely that they will say or do
• 0:52
  something incorrect in the situation. They can
• 0:55
  just respond in obedience rather than having
• 0:57
  to figure out the next action step. Sometimes
• 1:00
  it's like this with Jesus. He has already given
• 1:03
  us what we need to know. Sometimes people want
• 1:05
  it to be like this with Jesus, but as far as
• 1:08
  they can tell, It is not. If his explicit direction
• 1:11
  on how to deal with a twist has not already been
• 1:14
  forthcoming, then I think it's safe to assume
• 1:16
  that either he feels we do not need the direction,
• 1:18
  or, as we know, he will be with us in the moment
• 1:21
  to provide the direction. I guess I'm saying
• 1:23
  that detailed instructions such as this are somewhat
• 1:27
  an extra special gift from the Lord. Jesus is
• 1:30
  very good to them to use them and to give them
• 1:32
  the specific steps in advance of what to do if
• 1:35
  a situation and as a situation unfolds. We are
• 1:38
  blessed in the Lord Jesus Christ. Follow him
• 1:40
  today. Serve in your local church and keep on
• 1:43
  keeping on.
