- 1:58Speaker 1: nearly every Holly Wood and Music celebrity over the course
- 2:02Speaker 1: of an incredible career on ABC TV, Gut Challenge, each channel, CBS,
- 2:06Speaker 1: an other syndicated channels she has. She's even interviewed me
- 2:10Speaker 1: on a popular Hallmark Channel show, Home and Family. She's
- 2:13Speaker 1: laughing in the background. She has a critical acclaim and
- 2:16Speaker 1: best selling cook Boys that I love. It's all Greek
- 2:20Speaker 1: to Me, which is which was initially released in the
- 2:22Speaker 1: spring of but now they got some new recipes they've added,
- 2:25Speaker 1: So that's the word version I got, calling this book
- 2:28Speaker 1: her love letter to a family's native Greece. Both her
- 2:31Speaker 1: parents immigrated from Greece. She journeyed to Greece to write
- 2:34Speaker 1: and photographed the book. It's a lot of cool pictures,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you know, just showing us if I hanging out with
- 2:38Speaker 1: different people, and it's proud to share a family's favorite
- 2:41Speaker 1: classic Greek recipe and I'm gonna have I'm gonna talk
- 2:43Speaker 1: about that because some of these Greek recipe feel like
- 2:45Speaker 1: something I've had when I grew up in the hood.
- 2:50Speaker 1: So I'm really I'm really fighting with that Greek man.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Maybe maybe I got some Greek in my background. I
- 2:55Speaker 1: talked to my mama, not please work with money making
- 2:58Speaker 1: conversation matanopoli Us, Good morning, Sorry, how I'm doing fantastic girl?
- 3:07Speaker 1: How are you doing so much fun? Well? Thank you,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I had a lot of fun with you on the show,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and congratulations all your success and uh and thank you
- 3:16Speaker 1: for sending me this amazing cook But we'll talk about
- 3:18Speaker 1: a lot of things, but I want to start off
- 3:20Speaker 1: with this cookbook. It's all Greek to me. Give me
- 3:23Speaker 1: a little background before I dive in, and just tell
- 3:26Speaker 1: you everything I love about it. Okay, Well, I'm so
- 3:29Speaker 1: happy to hear that you love this book because that
- 3:30Speaker 1: was my goal. My goal was to share all these
- 3:33Speaker 1: recipes with the world that I grew up eating that
- 3:37Speaker 1: are so good and are so good for you. You know,
- 3:40Speaker 1: I think in this country we've gotten lost and we think,
- 3:43Speaker 1: you know, if the food tastes good, it can't possibly
- 3:46Speaker 1: be good for us, and it's gonna make us sick
- 3:48Speaker 1: or make us fat. That that couldn't be less true.
- 3:51Speaker 1: That couldn't be further from the truth. The truth is,
- 3:53Speaker 1: as long as you have good, whole ingredients in there,
- 3:56Speaker 1: things that you can pronounce, then food will be good.
- 4:01Speaker 1: You know, that is not your enemy. Good fats are
- 4:04Speaker 1: very important, like olive oils and avocados and things like that.
- 4:08Speaker 1: So you know, there's this. The way that I grew
- 4:11Speaker 1: up eating was just very we either. We grew the
- 4:14Speaker 1: vegetables and my dad's garden, and my mom made the
- 4:18Speaker 1: food from the vegetables and from very very simple ingredients,
- 4:23Speaker 1: but made it taste so delicious. And I feel like
- 4:24Speaker 1: in America, the Greek food that people know is all
- 4:29Speaker 1: they know is like souvlaki and bak lava, and they
- 4:32Speaker 1: and heroes, they don't know the real good Greek food.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And I really wanted to share that with people. And um,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I remember like when that the word organic was being
- 4:41Speaker 1: thrown around, like years ago before everybody really knew what
- 4:45Speaker 1: organic was, and people would say organic this, organic that.
- 4:47Speaker 1: And I was trying to explain to my mother what
- 4:49Speaker 1: organic was. I said, she said organic, what is the
- 4:52Speaker 1: And I said, you know, mom, like vegetables with no
- 4:55Speaker 1: chemicals this She goes, oh, norma norma nortemas you know,
- 5:01Speaker 1: the way that they were raised. And she would say
- 5:03Speaker 1: to me, organic used to be you had to grow
- 5:05Speaker 1: the vegetables because we were poor. Now it got twice
- 5:07Speaker 1: the money to buy organic. That's true, that's true. Yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 1: that's true. So she's like, she's like, you know, we
- 5:13Speaker 1: we did what we did because we didn't have any money.
- 5:16Speaker 1: And now it's fancy to grow things and and eat
- 5:18Speaker 1: your own vegetable and eat healthy and all that good stuff.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And so that that's the that's the amazing thing about it.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So so when I got the book, I got it
- 5:27Speaker 1: on Friday. They are living in Atlanta and I live
- 5:29Speaker 1: in Houston, Texas, and I'm gonna fly out on Friday
- 5:32Speaker 1: because of my mom's birthday. So I got the book
- 5:35Speaker 1: right before I hopped on the plane and I landed
- 5:38Speaker 1: in Houston, and on the plane, I was reading the book.
- 5:40Speaker 1: The first thing that got me was Calamari. Yeah, I
- 5:45Speaker 1: love calamar Id. I've never had a recipe book ever
- 5:50Speaker 1: in my life to say lightly colamar So you had
- 5:53Speaker 1: me a Colamara that's at the front of the books.
- 5:55Speaker 1: So I went, okay, So it's easy to make too.
- 5:58Speaker 1: We'll see Rushan didn't know that. Rush didn't know that.
- 6:02Speaker 1: D always goes to these fancy restaurants and get to
- 6:05Speaker 1: this and that's my appetizer, and I get him sometimes
- 6:08Speaker 1: with the little pepper, sometimes I get it the little pickles.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I get all types of column ar. Okay, that that
- 6:15Speaker 1: that got me said, and I started reading through. One
- 6:17Speaker 1: of my favorite restaurants did I go to. I don't
- 6:19Speaker 1: know if it's a national chain, but it's in Atlanta
- 6:21Speaker 1: called Zoey's Kitchen, Zoe's Killing Yeah, okay, go check this up.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Whenever I go there. You can ask any of my friends,
- 6:29Speaker 1: any of my employees. When I go there, I get
- 6:31Speaker 1: my Greek salad, I get my hummus, and I get mysakiki.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I told you how to make so you can make
- 6:41Speaker 1: it yourself. And see see now I got all that now.
- 6:45Speaker 1: And so I'm when I'm just selling, I'm just going
- 6:47Speaker 1: through this little let you know that you're hitting home
- 6:50Speaker 1: runs with your boy here with this book. And I'm
- 6:54Speaker 1: just gonna let you know that. Like when like so
- 6:56Speaker 1: the weekend. So the weekend, I made the lemon and
- 7:01Speaker 1: a Regano chicken breasts, which is crazy simple old a Regano.
- 7:09Speaker 1: You know. It was like I was like in lemon juice.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I was like, seriously, this all of them put on there,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and it's gonna taste good off the chain. Good. It's
- 7:20Speaker 1: so simple. I think people have just gotten so confused
- 7:22Speaker 1: at what to eat and how to eat it because
- 7:24Speaker 1: people are telling so many different things they don't know
- 7:26Speaker 1: what to do. That was the that that's what really
- 7:29Speaker 1: stunned me a little bit, Debbie, when I when I
- 7:31Speaker 1: saw that, because you know, I was talking like we
- 7:33Speaker 1: need to add something else. You know, I need to
- 7:35Speaker 1: put some more stuff. I need to put some Cajun
- 7:37Speaker 1: pepper on it or something, some cayenne something something extra excellent, team, excellent, healthy. I.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I also I made the navy bean soup when I
- 7:47Speaker 1: saw the name again, just carrieds just salary. I just
- 7:52Speaker 1: chopped them up, put him in there in love with that.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And then this when you got me, girl, This, when
- 7:58Speaker 1: you got me, I got to do reserch because you
- 8:01Speaker 1: know I can bake. Now. I got to the j
- 8:03Speaker 1: You're a great baker. Those ties that were so good.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Here's the deal. So you know I went when I'm
- 8:07Speaker 1: gonna I said this the section she gonna fail. Girl.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I saw Rice putting every flash back to my mama, right.
- 8:19Speaker 1: I could not believe you had Rice putting in there. Now,
- 8:22Speaker 1: my mom. I had added a little raisins in it,
- 8:25Speaker 1: because that's how my mom made it. And I dropped
- 8:28Speaker 1: that little ground cinament that you did that little tip
- 8:31Speaker 1: section you have in a book on top of it,
- 8:33Speaker 1: your board was sold. Isn't it so good? I'd love
- 8:37Speaker 1: the rice putting warm. You know a lot of people
- 8:39Speaker 1: like it cold. I like it form right off the stove.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Did see? I like it both ways. See, I'm all right,
- 8:44Speaker 1: that's all I do with my baked banana putting. I
- 8:46Speaker 1: do my bake banana putting. You can eat it warm
- 8:48Speaker 1: or you can drop that bad board in the refrigerator
- 8:50Speaker 1: and cold later. So I'm just letting you know that
- 8:54Speaker 1: I'm a fan of this book. I'm letting anybody who
- 8:57Speaker 1: listens to this show you know this is a book
- 8:59Speaker 1: that and by very easy, very friendly. And the thing
- 9:04Speaker 1: I liked about the book is that here's here's the
- 9:06Speaker 1: thing about me. There are three of my favorite sandwiches, hamburger.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I guess you can call the hot dog sandwich. I'm
- 9:13Speaker 1: gonna call it a sandwich and keep and there see see,
- 9:21Speaker 1: see you are not stopping, girl. You need to stop
- 9:25Speaker 1: with this man. You need to do. You need to
- 9:28Speaker 1: make the hero this weekend and let me know what
- 9:30Speaker 1: you think. Or make it over, make it over the
- 9:32Speaker 1: four of you. Well, here's the deal. Here's the deal.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I would have never made these things because I go
- 9:37Speaker 1: to the store, I go to a restaurant or some
- 9:39Speaker 1: chain to get all this stuff. Now, that's what I
- 9:42Speaker 1: really love the book is that us just opened my
- 9:44Speaker 1: eyes to the simple nature of eating healthy food on
- 9:48Speaker 1: a regular basis. And I'm just it's good, it's good.
- 9:52Speaker 1: So so so you you you you these recipes that
- 9:55Speaker 1: you that you brought from Greece, from your native family
- 10:01Speaker 1: island country. Excuse me, how did you come about putting
- 10:05Speaker 1: them together? Well? I had to do well, you know,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I went to Greece that I had to pry most
- 10:10Speaker 1: of these recipes and my relative hands because years they
- 10:13Speaker 1: were like, you know, they want to be the one
- 10:14Speaker 1: in the town that makes the best so and so
- 10:16Speaker 1: whatever it is. But trying to get the recipe, they
- 10:19Speaker 1: were like, not why, And I said, because I'm gonna
- 10:23Speaker 1: put it in the book. And the truth the matter is,
- 10:25Speaker 1: if I don't do this, And I was trying to
- 10:27Speaker 1: explain to them, to my grandmother's and my aunts and
- 10:30Speaker 1: uncles and you know all this my great aunts when
- 10:34Speaker 1: they pass away, unfortunately, these recipes are gonna go with them.
- 10:37Speaker 1: So I wanted them to understand that I'm putting this
- 10:40Speaker 1: together for my family as much as i am for
- 10:43Speaker 1: the rest of the world. I've been bragging and we've
- 10:45Speaker 1: been laughing as like old friends here and before we
- 10:49Speaker 1: go on to some other projects, we want to talk
- 10:50Speaker 1: about the QBC project and also the Homely Family show,
- 10:55Speaker 1: Ladies and Gentlemen Out of the Out of the Out
- 10:57Speaker 1: of the Book our told you this weekend. I made
- 10:59Speaker 1: the Navy being soup. I made the lemon or raven
- 11:02Speaker 1: old chicken breast and the rice pudding. She's already challenged
- 11:05Speaker 1: me to make the Giro sandwich on Fourth of July.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Usually do barbecue, but the Greek lady. The Greek Lady
- 11:12Speaker 1: got the black dude making Greek food on fourth of July.
- 11:15Speaker 1: So I'm breaking all protocol with my family. Okay, no barbecue,
- 11:19Speaker 1: We're gonna Greek on fourth July already already. You can't
- 11:23Speaker 1: hang out with everybody, y'all. You can't hang out with everybody,
- 11:26Speaker 1: you know, maybe eighty put these aside to side. Now
- 11:29Speaker 1: I met DEBI what that she got me doing Greek
- 11:32Speaker 1: food on fourth of July. See, think notne of it.
- 11:35Speaker 1: He was sure he might normally not eat Greek. No.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I wanted to make on with July coming up to
- 11:40Speaker 1: this points. You need them and send me some pictures
- 11:42Speaker 1: the profitt Okay, I've never been challenged like that, but
- 11:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna do that. But also later with everybody. I
- 11:50Speaker 1: enjoyed the fried column riders endowed, the white bean parade,
- 11:53Speaker 1: which is just hummus. The garlic Gilga cucumber sauce amazing,
- 11:58Speaker 1: the tomato cucumber and read on a salad. And I've
- 12:00Speaker 1: just chase something when I made that too. I just
- 12:03Speaker 1: chopped up the lemon oregano chicken breasts on top of it.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Your Paul was working this weekend. Okay, now, man, let's
- 12:12Speaker 1: talk about the Christmas in July show and uh that
- 12:16Speaker 1: that you host on the Hallmark channel called Home and Family.
- 12:20Speaker 1: That's sounds delicious. By the way, I'm of that girl
- 12:25Speaker 1: David something. And I'm gonna send Peter because I said,
- 12:29Speaker 1: Peter the pictures that idea. I said, Peter, the picture
- 12:31Speaker 1: of the navy being soup. It was so good, you know,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I sent so I I she know, she know I
- 12:38Speaker 1: know a person to send the pictures to to get
- 12:39Speaker 1: up to it. So it's not like I can't go.
- 12:41Speaker 1: You know, she hat gout the phone. I'm a player
- 12:44Speaker 1: and say, yeah, she knows if Peter Losers were talking about.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I'm saying if she she knows that. So I'm already hooked.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Forth of July, you come by Rashaan mcdald's house expecting
- 12:58Speaker 1: some ribs, some links, you know, the bottle salad you're
- 13:03Speaker 1: gonna get, the Dicky you're gonna get, You're gonna get
- 13:08Speaker 1: tomato salads, some a regular press. You're gonna be doing
- 13:11Speaker 1: it because Debbie has converted to brother not It's okay
- 13:15Speaker 1: to mix up a little bit, and I love it.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So let's talk about in there. Absolutely, Um, what's this saying?
- 13:24Speaker 1: When are we talking about Christmas in July? And now
- 13:26Speaker 1: I'm just having so much fun. I'm just talking with
- 13:28Speaker 1: you and forget what I'm supposed to be talking about. Okay,
- 13:30Speaker 1: So Christmas in July at Hallmark Channel, it's a it's
- 13:33Speaker 1: a big initiative for our network, and we for the
- 13:37Speaker 1: entire month of July do Christmas. Let me tell you,
- 13:40Speaker 1: this is one of the most fun things I have
- 13:43Speaker 1: ever been able to experience at any network I've ever
- 13:46Speaker 1: worked at. Because starting today, the whole house. I'm driving
- 13:50Speaker 1: to the set right now. In our set is a house,
- 13:52Speaker 1: a proper house is flipped into Christmas. We have snow
- 13:56Speaker 1: in the front yard. We have Rudolph Rudolph on our roof.
- 14:00Speaker 1: We do all kinds of d I Wise and home
- 14:04Speaker 1: improvement things and cooking segments that are geared towards Christmas.
- 14:08Speaker 1: For the next two and a half weeks now, the
- 14:12Speaker 1: all of our networks for the next month are going
- 14:16Speaker 1: to be Christmas. And by that, I mean we are
- 14:19Speaker 1: re airing all of our all of everyone's favorite Christmas
- 14:22Speaker 1: movies from Hallmark. You Palmark. Palmark's got a lock on
- 14:25Speaker 1: on Christmas. Absolutely absolutely, yeah, you know we we own it.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Santa Claus owns it, and Jesus owns it. I love it.
- 14:37Speaker 1: So that's the entire month of July, the entire one
- 14:40Speaker 1: of the job on Hallmarks Movies and Mysteries and on
- 14:42Speaker 1: Hallmark Channel, we are going to air all kinds of
- 14:44Speaker 1: Christmas movies and Christmas programming. So that's really fun for
- 14:48Speaker 1: our viewers because you know, it's right in the middle
- 14:50Speaker 1: of summer and it looks a little crazy. People drive
- 14:52Speaker 1: by the house, they think, what is going on there? There?
- 14:54Speaker 1: Got snow in the front yard. But that's what makes
- 14:56Speaker 1: it so exciting because nowhere else on television in the
- 14:59Speaker 1: middle of summer or you're gonna be watching Christmas stuff
- 15:02Speaker 1: and really getting you into the Christmas spirit. And also
- 15:04Speaker 1: how can you prepare ahead of time for for Christmas? Now?
- 15:09Speaker 1: You know, it gives you all kinds of ideas that
- 15:11Speaker 1: you can do and do all these dyes, put them
- 15:14Speaker 1: away somewhere so that when Christmas rolls around, you're not
- 15:17Speaker 1: scrambling to try to decorate or try to, you know,
- 15:19Speaker 1: look for that perfect present. You have everything ready to
- 15:22Speaker 1: go and you can just enjoy the holiday. I got
- 15:25Speaker 1: my Quip electric toothbrush. I love my smiles, I love
- 15:28Speaker 1: my teeth. When was the last time you replaced your toothbrush?

- 18:25Speaker 1: shout him out and do something. But you know, and
- 18:29Speaker 1: burn goes my baby. Come on, man, put a little

- 19:30Speaker 1: rashand McDonald. Rashan McDonald host money making Conversation. That music plan.
- 19:34Speaker 1: That means I'm doing something unique. I'm all over the
- 19:36Speaker 1: world now. I'm on podcast. I heard until my twenty
- 19:39Speaker 1: and fifty thou downloads on my Heart radio podcast and
- 19:42Speaker 1: Apple podcast, Serous Exam, HBCU campuses, Howard University campuses. I'm
- 19:48Speaker 1: syndicating to other markets. I think that considers me a beast,
- 19:52Speaker 1: a growing beast. My next guest, we were laughing before
- 19:55Speaker 1: he brought up this interview because of the fact that
- 19:58Speaker 1: I've known him a long time. Man. You know, of
- 20:00Speaker 1: the great thing about this show is to get to
- 20:01Speaker 1: here and meet people and you kind of like watch
- 20:04Speaker 1: their career. And this is one gentleman. I've actually watched
- 20:07Speaker 1: his career as a young man and grown man. I'm
- 20:09Speaker 1: telling a young man and the grown man. He grew
- 20:11Speaker 1: up in Germany with his mother. H Psychologists from Germany
- 20:15Speaker 1: and his father he's a physician from Ghana, West Africa.
- 20:18Speaker 1: So that's a lot of a lot of that's the
- 20:20Speaker 1: career you suppose you think he will go, you know, psychologist,
- 20:23Speaker 1: physician now. But he was a talented tennis player, one
- 20:27Speaker 1: of the best tennis players in Germany until a chronic
- 20:30Speaker 1: back injury slowed them down. So he said, what I'm
- 20:32Speaker 1: gonna do next? I want I'm tall, I look good. Hollywood, Hollywood.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Now he's become one of the most consistent working actors
- 20:40Speaker 1: in Hollywood. Please work with the money making conversation about
- 20:44Speaker 1: to see my name Boris ko Joy. The boys had
- 20:52Speaker 1: been by my house. He beat my daughter badly in tennis,
- 20:56Speaker 1: you know, because here's a guy who practiced with Serena. Okay, now,
- 20:58Speaker 1: I'll just tell you how good he is here. He
- 21:01Speaker 1: was literally what Reenas wants to practice sometime, probably not
- 21:04Speaker 1: now because you know she got private jets and everything,
- 21:07Speaker 1: but uh, he would always practice with her. So he
- 21:10Speaker 1: was in town one day and my daughter lieutennis prodigy.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I said, Marca, you come by a player and my daughter.
- 21:15Speaker 1: He's so good, you know, he's if you look at it,
- 21:18Speaker 1: he's a natural athlete. But I always want to thank you,
- 21:21Speaker 1: and I want to tell you my daughter, she went pro,
- 21:23Speaker 1: just getting a backstory on that she went pro, was
- 21:25Speaker 1: doing well. Did she blew out a knee? Boys? She
- 21:28Speaker 1: blew out an a c l And now she's in
- 21:31Speaker 1: college and happy for man. She's in college and uh,
- 21:34Speaker 1: she's major in the mechanical engineering. Now. She told me
- 21:37Speaker 1: to tell you hi. She was looking at my couch, Mr, Mr.
- 21:44Speaker 1: But she's doing well. And my wife told me to
- 21:45Speaker 1: tell you hi as well, and thank you and thank
- 21:49Speaker 1: you man. That's so when you was whenever you say
- 21:51Speaker 1: you have to do something for your family, always no
- 21:54Speaker 1: understand that because family is important and it makes a
- 21:57Speaker 1: difference in everybody's life. Now your life, you and I
- 22:00Speaker 1: go back at least sixteen years. Yeah, that's true. I'm
- 22:07Speaker 1: thinking about the Steve Harvey years. I twenty years when
- 22:10Speaker 1: he was coming to audisiney for sitcoms. He's coming in
- 22:13Speaker 1: sister Sister Jamie Fox more NEI And you know it's
- 22:20Speaker 1: really when I look at your look at your career, man,
- 22:22Speaker 1: because you know stand up comedy, you've been uh basically,
- 22:26Speaker 1: I won't say it, kind of like a superhero in
- 22:27Speaker 1: those Resident Evil movies. Uh, you know it was a
- 22:31Speaker 1: voice in the further that movie h you Uh you
- 22:34Speaker 1: spoof yourself and Real Housewives of Hollywood and now you're
- 22:39Speaker 1: playing a doctor r Houst husband of hospital Hollywood and
- 22:43Speaker 1: then you now you're playing a doctor on Cold Black.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Did you see all that, Mane? Did you see that
- 22:49Speaker 1: journey shaping it? Stuff like that? You know, you never
- 22:53Speaker 1: know what God would bless you. Was um. One thing
- 22:58Speaker 1: that I can say that that's been consistent in my
- 23:01Speaker 1: life was that I've always had faith and then I've
- 23:04Speaker 1: always been ready. So whenever opportunity presented itself to me,
- 23:08Speaker 1: I was able to take advantage. I was able to
- 23:11Speaker 1: take advantage. But whether it was a scholarship that I
- 23:14Speaker 1: got to play tennis at ECU, or modeling contract I
- 23:18Speaker 1: had with Ford or then you know, the acting world,
- 23:21Speaker 1: I was always ready to take advantage. And that's something
- 23:25Speaker 1: that's been that's been a concept in my life. He
- 23:29Speaker 1: just started a custom clothing line, and uh, tell everybody
- 23:32Speaker 1: about it. You've been You've been telling me about it
- 23:35Speaker 1: for a a year. It did what you saw it with
- 23:37Speaker 1: your brother, correct, of course, that's that's right, My brother Patrick,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and he brought the concept to me, and it was
- 23:44Speaker 1: basically um putting putting the notion of customary suits and
- 23:50Speaker 1: shirts on his hand because traditionally, owning a custom suit
- 23:55Speaker 1: or a shirt is something that not a lot of
- 23:57Speaker 1: people can afford because it's so expensive. So we will too.
- 24:00Speaker 1: We wanted to cater to the other, the other people
- 24:05Speaker 1: who deserve to have suits and shirts that fit. So
- 24:09Speaker 1: we created a World of Alpha, which is online custom
- 24:13Speaker 1: suits and shirts manufacturer, and you basically go online to
- 24:18Speaker 1: World of Alpha dot com. You pick your fabrics, uh,
- 24:21Speaker 1: you pick your styles, and you walk through different design
- 24:24Speaker 1: options and you actually design your own suit online. Um,
- 24:29Speaker 1: we have hundreds of different fabrics, we have tons of
- 24:32Speaker 1: different design options. There's a there's a measuring page where
- 24:36Speaker 1: you can put your measurements, and if you don't have
- 24:38Speaker 1: your measurements, there's a little video to teach iss you
- 24:41Speaker 1: how to how to get those measurements done. You get
- 24:45Speaker 1: your honest measurements, put you in for in there, it's
- 24:48Speaker 1: twenty five days later, you get your suit or your
- 24:50Speaker 1: shirt in the mail. And we launched. Yeah, we launched
- 24:54Speaker 1: about eight years ago and with great success, and it's
- 24:58Speaker 1: been it's been in a anything journey as well, not
- 25:02Speaker 1: only do we do straight to consumer UH suits and shirts,
- 25:06Speaker 1: but we also target universities. We target uh NT double
- 25:11Speaker 1: A UH teams like mc and and Michigan State are
- 25:17Speaker 1: our customers of ours were the whole football team and
- 25:19Speaker 1: the whole basketball team that we're in the world of
- 25:22Speaker 1: office just because you know, when you're an athlete, UH,
- 25:25Speaker 1: you can't buy off the rack, so you gotta get
- 25:27Speaker 1: custom stuff. And usually it's too expressive. Started to fifty
- 25:32Speaker 1: our shirts started thirty bucks. So it's very avoulnables wool,
- 25:37Speaker 1: there's uh, there's different um wool blends. We have linen uh,
- 25:44Speaker 1: so you gotta check it out. It's it's a very
- 25:46Speaker 1: great way to get your custom suits and shirt. Okay,
- 25:49Speaker 1: let me talk to people out here that a thirty
- 25:52Speaker 1: dollar custom shirts because I know you know you go
- 25:55Speaker 1: there get I'm just awesome. That's like Arrows nineteen dollars.
- 25:58Speaker 1: There's an Arrows thirty dollar customer shirt. Now I'm just
- 26:02Speaker 1: telling you buy I can't. I've never bought a thirty
- 26:05Speaker 1: dollar customer shirt because I didn't know about the service.
- 26:08Speaker 1: If I got my Quip electric toothbrush, I love my smiles,
- 26:12Speaker 1: I love my teeth. When was the last time you
- 26:14Speaker 1: replaced your toothbrush? Do you always brush twice a day
- 26:17Speaker 1: for four or two minutes paying attention to these good habits.
- 26:20Speaker 1: That's a huge impact on your health. That's right. I'm
- 26:22Speaker 1: introducing Quip spelled Qui people, the new electric toothbrush that
- 26:26Speaker 1: helps to fix the brushing habits that most people get wrong.

- 26:32Speaker 1: time vibrations and god and posters give you a perfect too.

- 27:15Speaker 1: know that I was supporting and what I was doing
- 27:17Speaker 1: the producer Steve show, I will getting the cold to
- 27:19Speaker 1: come on the show and she she has a sweaty
- 27:22Speaker 1: headband type of how how's that go doing? And where
- 27:26Speaker 1: can we get that? Before we wrap up the shop?
- 27:28Speaker 1: Because gym wrap is doing great. Uh Nicole is in retail, Walmart,
- 27:35Speaker 1: Sally's Beauty supply stores and recently Target, and you can
- 27:40Speaker 1: get the Jim Rap at the gym rap dot com.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And she's got tons and tons of new colors and patterns,
- 27:48Speaker 1: and women all over the world lover products because it's
- 27:52Speaker 1: protext their protect their edges when they work out. Yes, yes,
- 27:56Speaker 1: and now you don't have any you don't have any
- 27:57Speaker 1: excuses that anymore not to work out the one more time.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Protects the edges. That's what that's what women just cannot
- 28:05Speaker 1: get right, edges because we learned that a lot of
- 28:09Speaker 1: women don't work out because they got to protect their hair.
- 28:12Speaker 1: They don't want to sweat out the air. But you
- 28:15Speaker 1: don't have to worry about that anymore, because all you
- 28:17Speaker 1: gotta do is get a gym around you tied on.
- 28:19Speaker 1: When you're done working out, use the blow dry and
- 28:22Speaker 1: blow dry a little bit and take it off and
- 28:23Speaker 1: you get to go thank you. And so she changed
- 28:26Speaker 1: the game. She's helped a lot of when we get
- 28:28Speaker 1: a lot of uh comments every single day. So women
- 28:32Speaker 1: all over the world who tell us how to gym,
- 28:33Speaker 1: maroun has helped them maintain a healthy lifestyle. And there's
- 28:38Speaker 1: nothing better to hear that. So, you know, everybody's trying
- 28:41Speaker 1: to contribute a little bit to everybody's health. So we
- 28:43Speaker 1: were doing our part. Nicole certainly has done hers, So
- 28:46Speaker 1: I'm very proud of her. Hey, my man, thank you.

- 30:56Speaker 1: I love the song I loved first of all, congratulations
- 31:00Speaker 1: on the move to Uh, it's your brand, it's your
- 31:03Speaker 1: it's your's your music. I know you've been tied to
- 31:06Speaker 1: the group and guess what it is. It's still a
- 31:08Speaker 1: great group. But the decision to become an artist and
- 31:13Speaker 1: that's what you are now, and that the first song
- 31:15Speaker 1: level And I would tell you it's interesting how radio
- 31:19Speaker 1: is that because they're just put your music out and
- 31:21Speaker 1: they don't introduce the talent anymore as much as they
- 31:24Speaker 1: used to. And it took me for a minute to
- 31:26Speaker 1: find out it was you with that song. And it's
- 31:29Speaker 1: it's kind of frustrating because you know your goal is,
- 31:32Speaker 1: first of all, you have a you have a tremendous
- 31:34Speaker 1: relationship and brand you built with many conditions. But now
- 31:37Speaker 1: you're trying to sell who you are now because you
- 31:39Speaker 1: see who you are now you can promote yourself, go
- 31:42Speaker 1: to venues and start selling them out as stokely Williams.
- 31:45Speaker 1: And when you don't promote that, that's kind of frustrating.
- 31:47Speaker 1: That's the business side of it that You're trying to
- 31:50Speaker 1: make sure people understand. That's why I'm happy you on
- 31:52Speaker 1: my show so we can talk about what you're doing
- 31:54Speaker 1: now and the goals of your career. Let's talk about
- 31:57Speaker 1: tell me about I appreciate and I appreciate you. Yeah,
- 32:01Speaker 1: that's absolutely all of that is true. Trying to establish,
- 32:04Speaker 1: you know, and move on from everything, all the beautiful
- 32:08Speaker 1: things that have created with the group, and we all
- 32:13Speaker 1: are creating different you know, different spaces right now, and
- 32:16Speaker 1: uh as you go on in life, you try to just,
- 32:19Speaker 1: uh see what else you can see in the world.
- 32:22Speaker 1: And we've been, you know, on our journey for a
- 32:23Speaker 1: very long time, so you know, just trying to you know, rediscovering,
- 32:27Speaker 1: you know, just kind of re energizing different areas of
- 32:29Speaker 1: your life. You know, where we are, all our artists,
- 32:31Speaker 1: so you know, that just continues. So I'm just glad
- 32:34Speaker 1: that people are have been receptive to what I'm doing
- 32:38Speaker 1: and we're just gonna keep it moving forward. Yeah, it's
- 32:40Speaker 1: been amazing. But I cannot let you go without let
- 32:44Speaker 1: your message be delivered. So that's why I'm bringing you back.
- 32:46Speaker 1: So tell us about if you can find me at

- 33:07Speaker 1: it on all of the usual suspects on the internet,
- 33:12Speaker 1: you know, whether it be Amazon, iTunes, you know, Google Play,
- 33:15Speaker 1: all of it, you know, and just support give music.
- 33:18Speaker 1: I'm out right now currently tourn with many different you
- 33:21Speaker 1: know people from uh back in the day and you

- 33:26Speaker 1: and so many people. Everybody said all those names. You say,
- 33:34Speaker 1: you gotta come see the show because I'm trying to

- 33:44Speaker 1: a really dynamic experience. So we just thought here having fun, man,
- 33:48Speaker 1: spreading the word and not getting rid of it for
- 33:51Speaker 1: the next ones. It's just a lot of great stuff.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Coming up. You know, there's some some artists that I'll
- 33:55Speaker 1: be working with, so it just kind of stay tuned
- 33:57Speaker 1: what's going on. It's a lot of exciting things happen
- 34:00Speaker 1: that Hey, stokely man, thank you for calling my show.
- 34:02Speaker 1: But make sure your people get banners to me so

- 34:10Speaker 1: you said, Charlie knows me. You know Keith wed on me.
- 34:14Speaker 1: You know you tan't know me. All these people know
- 34:17Speaker 1: me now you know me. So I gotta take care
- 34:19Speaker 1: of you. Okay, I gotta take care of you. You
- 34:21Speaker 1: stay strong, all right, and keep calling them appreciate me. Alright.
- 34:26Speaker 1: She's on the call right now. I got rid of
- 34:27Speaker 1: my man Stokely doing this thing. Now we're going from
- 34:31Speaker 1: music the fashion, the fashion, now this young ladies, Hallow.
- 34:36Speaker 1: I just finished watching Luke Cage this weekend, so you
- 34:40Speaker 1: know he's the savior of halland when it comes to fashion,
- 34:43Speaker 1: she's the queen of fashion. Can I say that shape?

- 36:00Speaker 1: I have not dropped out of your life. I've just
- 36:02Speaker 1: been working on some things. I wanted to make sure,
- 36:05Speaker 1: as you know, I follow everything, and you have a
- 36:07Speaker 1: big event coming up, and I wanted to make sure
- 36:09Speaker 1: I'll put it was put you in a position to
- 36:11Speaker 1: promote it on my show tell us about it. Oh,
- 36:15Speaker 1: I so appreciate that. But since talking about that great introduction,
- 36:19Speaker 1: the first thing I would like to invite everyone too
- 36:21Speaker 1: is our anniversary exhibit at the Museum in the City
- 36:25Speaker 1: of New York. UM. We are participating UM in a
- 36:29Speaker 1: nineties black parties. UM exhibit titles started from the nineties.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Now we're here so they can see some of those
- 36:36Speaker 1: cool fashions that we've done celebrate in our twenties. Five
- 36:38Speaker 1: anniversaries for five thousand flavors. So August eighth at the
- 36:43Speaker 1: Museum in the City of New York. I may have
- 36:45Speaker 1: to make that. I may have to make that. Would
- 36:48Speaker 1: love to have you, Rashawn. So what time does it start?
- 36:51Speaker 1: What time does you start? I want to know, because
- 36:53Speaker 1: you know, do I have to spend the night? You know,
- 36:55Speaker 1: you know what I mean? When I go in and out,
- 36:56Speaker 1: I try to like it starts at six pm on
- 37:01Speaker 1: Wednesday the eighth, after saying, there's a wonderful nineties dance party,
- 37:06Speaker 1: will have a DJ spending in the front, and you'll
- 37:08Speaker 1: get to see some of the cool exhibits celebrating our
- 37:11Speaker 1: twenty five anniversary. I'm in. I'll be there Wednesday, Samantha
- 37:16Speaker 1: tells Amantha on that scale going to New York Wednesday,
- 37:19Speaker 1: August eighth for their event, and I'm so, you know,
- 37:23Speaker 1: I'll be I'll be flying anyway, you know, I know that.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I know that for a fact. So that's one of
- 37:30Speaker 1: the cool events of our parents company five thousand and
- 37:33Speaker 1: one slavers Um, I'll retail expression of five thousand flavors
- 37:37Speaker 1: and Harlem hab A Dactually, of course our retail store
- 37:39Speaker 1: at to four or five Lenox and Harlem Um. You know,
- 37:43Speaker 1: we're family owned and operated business. It's important for me
- 37:46Speaker 1: to create a legacy of transferable wealth and brand um.
- 37:50Speaker 1: You know, business excellence that I'm trying to transfer to
- 37:52Speaker 1: my family. So always important for me, you know, for
- 37:55Speaker 1: my fore profit businesses. But what I'm actually calling you
- 37:58Speaker 1: about is one of my philanthropic organizations that I work with.
- 38:01Speaker 1: As as important as you're a for profit, it's important
- 38:04Speaker 1: to create a legacy and become a philanthropist. I am
- 38:08Speaker 1: a wonderful member of the Black Women for Black Girls
- 38:11Speaker 1: Given Circles. It's a philanthropic group of women who donate
- 38:16Speaker 1: their time, talent, and treasure to the positive, positive development
- 38:20Speaker 1: of black girls in New York City. Uh. In honor
- 38:23Speaker 1: of the black girls we were in the village and
- 38:25Speaker 1: family and mentors that support and nourished us. We aim
- 38:28Speaker 1: to support the next generation of of leaders through membership
- 38:32Speaker 1: and financial support. Uh. And I know that you were excited,
- 38:36Speaker 1: you know when I was telling you about our signature program,
- 38:38Speaker 1: which is about college shower where we through nomination select
- 38:42Speaker 1: several girls to UM receive a college shower in their
- 38:46Speaker 1: honor through our system network in village and uh, you know,
- 38:50Speaker 1: corporate sponsors. We create a program with a girl's register
- 38:54Speaker 1: for a registry and we uh you know, get everything, tools, decorations,
- 39:00Speaker 1: any type of resource that they need so they can
- 39:02Speaker 1: succeed when they go to college. So it's really important
- 39:05Speaker 1: for us to kind of acknowledge our young people and
- 39:07Speaker 1: you know, help them as they move into the world. So,
- 39:11Speaker 1: you know, we have our college shower coming up. We
- 39:13Speaker 1: have a lovely UM honoree um selected, you know, girls
- 39:18Speaker 1: selected from the internet, applications, from respils, from personal relationships.
- 39:24Speaker 1: And so it's going down this July eight. And you know,
- 39:27Speaker 1: if anybody wants to support our college show initiatives, that
- 39:31Speaker 1: can definitely look up Black Women for Black Girls Giving Circle.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Our website is b W for BG dot org. Uh,
- 39:39Speaker 1: you know, click the donor button and support our young
- 39:42Speaker 1: people as they kind of strive to become the leaders
- 39:44Speaker 1: up tomorrow. We gonna do better than that. You're gonna
- 39:47Speaker 1: give me a banner and I'm sending to my followers.
- 39:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna sending to my fan club members. I got
- 39:52Speaker 1: two and thirty thousand of them, and I got over
- 39:54Speaker 1: a million social media followers. We're gonna do it that
- 39:57Speaker 1: way too. I know there are many steps to get
- 40:00Speaker 1: the word out. Doing this radio show is fine, being
- 40:03Speaker 1: on the podcast, being on Seers Exam. But you know,
- 40:06Speaker 1: success is not It's about relationships. And that's what I
- 40:08Speaker 1: try to tell everybody who called money making conversations. I
- 40:11Speaker 1: have a relationship with her family. I have a relationship
- 40:14Speaker 1: with her brand, and she knows me. I never asked
- 40:17Speaker 1: for anything. This is about about another step. This is
- 40:21Speaker 1: how you help people. Like she said, this is about
- 40:23Speaker 1: this is this the event right here July eight. It's
- 40:25Speaker 1: not about for a profit, it's about for carring. It's
- 40:29Speaker 1: about uplifting. It's about motivating people to realize that if
- 40:32Speaker 1: you have a dream, it can be accomplished. But the
- 40:35Speaker 1: one thing about the dream, he's a tricky thing about
- 40:36Speaker 1: the dream. You cannot do it by yourself. Understand that
- 40:40Speaker 1: at a dream, you cannot do it by yourself. You
- 40:45Speaker 1: have to have the right people around you who support
- 40:47Speaker 1: your dream, who will be there in the moment of crisis.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Because in any dream, and they go any level of treatment,
- 40:54Speaker 1: there will be crisis and that person has to be
- 40:57Speaker 1: there to tell you and welcome you there. And that's
- 40:59Speaker 1: what this campaign that you have with the black women.
- 41:02Speaker 1: This is in the Harlem, New York area of New Jersey, Connecticut,
- 41:06Speaker 1: h Pennsylvania. That's a big area she's talking about, all
- 41:10Speaker 1: the way down to go down to do Baltimore. That's
- 41:12Speaker 1: going down to d. C. Howard University. I'm I'm telling everybody,
- 41:17Speaker 1: Shae yes, because it's one thing you have to do
- 41:21Speaker 1: is we have to support each other. Um and your
- 41:24Speaker 1: support doesn't necessarily have to come from your family. It
- 41:27Speaker 1: can come from um you know why why group of
- 41:30Speaker 1: people in your life. So we try to create a
- 41:33Speaker 1: mentorship program, a networking opportunity for our girls to kind
- 41:37Speaker 1: of see women and positions of power. Um. You know,
- 41:40Speaker 1: we have to acknowledge our young people. We see you,
- 41:43Speaker 1: we we see you doing great things and we support you.
- 41:46Speaker 1: So it's really important for us to kind of honor, uh,
- 41:48Speaker 1: you know the black girls that we were by working
- 41:51Speaker 1: with young black girls who will becoming women. So that
- 41:54Speaker 1: is you know, the main emphasis of what we're doing
- 41:57Speaker 1: for the college hour. Um, it's important for me to
- 41:59Speaker 1: be as involved in philanthrophic opportunities as it is you
- 42:03Speaker 1: know for my for profit business. Um, as I mentioned,
- 42:07Speaker 1: you know Harlem Habit actually his family owned and operated.
- 42:09Speaker 1: And I see that what I'm trying to do for
- 42:12Speaker 1: my family is needed all over you know, our country.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Now I'm gonna be up there August eight for the
- 42:18Speaker 1: twenty fifth anniversary of five thousand one flavors. Know that
- 42:21Speaker 1: put my name on the list. Don't have me walk
- 42:23Speaker 1: up there the day they go. Who Jay stay keep

- 45:15Speaker 1: little parent move, you know, you you you know, not
- 45:18Speaker 1: saying she's my daughter, you know, but she's a she's
- 45:21Speaker 1: like my daughter, and she's because she's my niece. Let's
- 45:24Speaker 1: go nice level because I don't want to claim on
- 45:26Speaker 1: like my daughter, claiming because she's crazy. She took her
- 45:32Speaker 1: hand off. I mean I can speak right. My next
- 45:35Speaker 1: Ca is a comedian co host of DV one's Sister

- 45:45Speaker 1: me get you on the show, let me get your
- 45:48Speaker 1: get to bring some people the cakes and the pies

- 45:52Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm gonna finish. Because I saw
- 45:54Speaker 1: I saw a chef to Nord. He's been on it
- 45:57Speaker 1: like fifteen times and uh fact, he posted on social

- 46:26Speaker 1: y'all dis your girl Kiana dancing. I am in the
- 46:28Speaker 1: studio with my ru Shan McDonald. He cain't staying me,
- 46:31Speaker 1: but I came to take over. Believe me, you am
- 46:34Speaker 1: not taking up straight And I just gave you a
- 46:38Speaker 1: moment to excel yourself because that's what that's the whole relationship.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I try to teach you how to build your brand.
- 46:45Speaker 1: You are brand you are. I'm a brand builder. So
- 46:48Speaker 1: at times. You know, you gotta know when to step
- 46:51Speaker 1: in from of the leader. You know what I'm saying.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Sometimes people step in front of the leader get shot
- 46:56Speaker 1: by Okay, okay, you have to know what to step
- 47:02Speaker 1: in front the league. I knew the coach was clear
- 47:04Speaker 1: when you stepped in front of me. Always know that
- 47:07Speaker 1: your boy just set you up. Thank you, because you're
- 47:11Speaker 1: great on the radio. You articulate what the mente? Who?
- 47:14Speaker 1: Who does that? You're great on the radio, You're articulate. Well,
- 47:17Speaker 1: I would holp south Side. I'm on I'm on television
- 47:20Speaker 1: every day. My mother put a lot of good money
- 47:21Speaker 1: into me so that I can be able to speak
- 47:24Speaker 1: like you. Let's talk about that education. Yes, what type
- 47:27Speaker 1: of education do you have? Because a lot of people
- 47:28Speaker 1: think a comedian is like you know, yeah, because I
- 47:32Speaker 1: know I got a degree of mathematics IBM. When I
- 47:36Speaker 1: tell people that, they go a little a little side
- 47:39Speaker 1: of their face kind of changes a little bit. So,
- 47:42Speaker 1: but you also pursued a college education, got your degree,
- 47:46Speaker 1: absolutely I did. I'm gonn tell you something. My mother
- 47:47Speaker 1: did not give me a choice whether or not I
- 47:49Speaker 1: was going to school to school, it was where you
- 47:51Speaker 1: were going to school. So I went to Georgia Southern University.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I am a sorry ego, you know, ego sore. We
- 47:56Speaker 1: fly with the best and we fly high. I ain't
- 47:58Speaker 1: saying I'm looking down on it, but it's a people,
- 48:00Speaker 1: A couple of people. I looked down alone join the
- 48:03Speaker 1: Southern University, graduated with a b s. In marketing. I
- 48:06Speaker 1: went to work for Sony. From Sony, I went to
- 48:08Speaker 1: work for Samsung, and then I actually decided I wanted
- 48:10Speaker 1: to go to law school. I took the L SAD
- 48:12Speaker 1: and decided in the meantime while I'm text studying for
- 48:15Speaker 1: the L side and then I want to gonna take
- 48:16Speaker 1: the test. I was like, oh lord, this ain't for me.
- 48:19Speaker 1: That's why I said, did that come about? Because that's
- 48:22Speaker 1: a loan. A lot of people when they take that journey,
- 48:25Speaker 1: they just they committed to it because they put so
- 48:27Speaker 1: much time. And how did you say this is not
- 48:31Speaker 1: for me? I know I've given a lot of my
- 48:33Speaker 1: life in that direction, but I'm willing to courageously shift. Yes. Well,
- 48:38Speaker 1: you know, because I did not have a pre law
- 48:40Speaker 1: um you know background, I didn't take the pre law classes.
- 48:44Speaker 1: I just when I already always knew that I wanted
- 48:46Speaker 1: to be greater than I was like, meaning I wanted
- 48:49Speaker 1: to be educated. I wanted to be more articulate. I
- 48:51Speaker 1: wanted to make my mother proud. My mother was pushing
- 48:54Speaker 1: me to be a c I s. Major, which is
- 48:56Speaker 1: a computer information science degree. Let me tell you, my
- 49:00Speaker 1: mother has that degree, and I don't think like she does, right,
- 49:03Speaker 1: so I don't have your mind or versions. I was like,
- 49:08Speaker 1: I'm never tell you something. I'm not that smart. So
- 49:10Speaker 1: I did the marketing degree because I was actually ready
- 49:13Speaker 1: to get out of school and I knew that I could.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I'm real good at debating. I'm real good and listen
- 49:18Speaker 1: when I tell you, I can debate my argument down.
- 49:21Speaker 1: So I was like, I could be a good lawyer.
- 49:23Speaker 1: And then you know, my cousin, she actually went to
- 49:25Speaker 1: Georgetown University in d C. And I spent some time
- 49:27Speaker 1: with her, even a higher academics and you know, after
- 49:31Speaker 1: going through the process of studying for the else that
- 49:33Speaker 1: and you know, learning what a lawyer does in the
- 49:35Speaker 1: day to day life, I just felt like it wasn't
- 49:37Speaker 1: for me. So, I mean it was a hard transition
- 49:40Speaker 1: because well, actually I'll take that back. It wasn't so
- 49:42Speaker 1: much hard. It wasn't a hard transition because I knew
- 49:45Speaker 1: I wanted to be happy and I wanted to do
- 49:47Speaker 1: something for me, And I wouldn't have been pursuing a
- 49:50Speaker 1: j D based on what my mother wanted me to
- 49:52Speaker 1: do or what other people thought I should. There's a
- 49:55Speaker 1: lot of people do that. Yes, a lot of people
- 49:57Speaker 1: have loans they can't pay back, and in pursuit in
- 50:01Speaker 1: the academic plans that can't deliver the income to pay
- 50:04Speaker 1: it back, right, And I don't disagree with that. I
- 50:06Speaker 1: think if you're gonna if you're gonna invest in anything,
- 50:08Speaker 1: it should be your education. You know, people out here
- 50:10Speaker 1: will finance a car, they'll go ahead and they'll put
- 50:13Speaker 1: shoes and persons on lailway. Did you know the people
- 50:15Speaker 1: can put good handbags on the laylway? I didn't know
- 50:18Speaker 1: that your personality, Okay, I didn't know that you could
- 50:21Speaker 1: put shoes and handbags and jeans and all these kind
- 50:24Speaker 1: of things. People will financed all these different things, but
- 50:26Speaker 1: won't financial No, no, no, I get it. But when
- 50:29Speaker 1: they have you heard somebody actually go put your good
- 50:32Speaker 1: Jordan's Jordan. Some people my first cold leather jacket cold.
- 50:45Speaker 1: I don't know when that was. But I'm gonna tell
- 50:47Speaker 1: you right now. I'm gonna tell you right now, the
- 50:49Speaker 1: people and talking to people, Cole has nothing to do
- 50:54Speaker 1: with the weather. I know you said you think you
- 50:56Speaker 1: so cold, like you when you slick like it was?
- 51:03Speaker 1: It was. It was chocolate brown stitch. It was stitched. Okay,
- 51:08Speaker 1: it had no lining was the first mistake. And buying
- 51:12Speaker 1: the leather jacket. Come on, now, no lining because when
- 51:15Speaker 1: they got cold cold, right, you're telling your age, you
- 51:20Speaker 1: call that that's cold, baby, It was cold. But what
- 51:23Speaker 1: I'm saying is, you know there are people out here
- 51:24Speaker 1: who will finance rims for their cars, but won't put
- 51:27Speaker 1: that same type of effort or money into their education.
- 51:30Speaker 1: So I don't run from that. I did. I got
- 51:32Speaker 1: some scholarships with some of the money's I did have
- 51:35Speaker 1: to get strough loans. And I encourage people, if you're listening,
- 51:37Speaker 1: if you don't have all the money to get education,
- 51:39Speaker 1: do not let that deter you. You use that everything,
- 51:42Speaker 1: every avenue and every opportunity you have to go to school,
- 51:44Speaker 1: because even though you may or may not use your education,
- 51:47Speaker 1: but it's nothing more feared than an educated person. You
- 51:50Speaker 1: know what, when you come on my show. You got
- 51:53Speaker 1: a lot to say. I do now. I count the words,
- 52:01Speaker 1: the words, and that's what the people say. Huh. You
- 52:04Speaker 1: know it's when you got you're wearing me out. You'll
- 52:06Speaker 1: be wearing me. I'd be like tied just watching you
- 52:08Speaker 1: talk on. I'm coming in here. I'm gonna be here.
- 52:10Speaker 1: When are you gonna be here again? So don't coming here.
- 52:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna talking to the general manager. As you told me,
- 52:17Speaker 1: he limits your parances up here. He did my authority
- 52:21Speaker 1: where is. Don't worry about that. Don't worry about that.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Let's talk about this transition of going from a corporate
- 52:27Speaker 1: person to a real estate We can talk about the
- 52:31Speaker 1: rule state. Now. Where did the rural state license play
- 52:34Speaker 1: into that? So I moved to Houston, Texas. I was
- 52:37Speaker 1: there absolutely. I went to Houston to work for Samsung,
- 52:41Speaker 1: and I could not see myself living in an apartment forever.
- 52:44Speaker 1: So my first lease was fifteen months, my second lease
- 52:48Speaker 1: was for six months, and I knew that I wanted
- 52:50Speaker 1: to buy a home. I lived downtown on Sabine Street.
- 52:53Speaker 1: I was paying the astronomical amount of money for a
- 52:55Speaker 1: one room loft, you hear me, And I did that
- 52:58Speaker 1: on purpose because I wanted to see could I get
- 53:00Speaker 1: acclimated to pay a mortgage. So my my rent was
- 53:03Speaker 1: like almost two thousand dollars for a one room law.
- 53:06Speaker 1: And then in that means and that in that time frame,
- 53:09Speaker 1: I got my real estate license because I knew that
- 53:11Speaker 1: I was gonna buy myself a house. And not only
- 53:13Speaker 1: was I gonna buy me a house, I was gonna
- 53:14Speaker 1: sell my house to myself. So I got my real
- 53:16Speaker 1: estate license to sell me my my own home. That's
- 53:19Speaker 1: where it came from. That. We're just the process in
- 53:22Speaker 1: getting at real estate. Like I know a difference in
- 53:24Speaker 1: different states. In Texas, you said, would you have to
- 53:28Speaker 1: take a test? How do you get you to get
- 53:31Speaker 1: a test? In the realist? In any state you have
- 53:33Speaker 1: to take the educational classes, So it depends. Sometimes it's
- 53:35Speaker 1: six or eight weeks, sometimes it's four weeks to put
- 53:37Speaker 1: it on where you are. You take the test, and
- 53:39Speaker 1: I mean you take the classes and then you have
- 53:41Speaker 1: to take tests to pass each class, and then from
- 53:44Speaker 1: there you take the state exam. And then I took
- 53:46Speaker 1: the state exam. Now I ain't gonna say I passed
- 53:48Speaker 1: it on the very first try, hunt because the test
- 53:50Speaker 1: is hard. I did pass it um eventually you know
- 53:55Speaker 1: what don't don't know shade on. First of all the
- 53:57Speaker 1: real estate classes, you have to best you are you
- 54:00Speaker 1: yourself because you're not selling me, No, you and you
- 54:05Speaker 1: just lost. No. You have to pass the exam with
- 54:08Speaker 1: a certain amount of percentage. And then so the thing
- 54:11Speaker 1: is if you had to pass it with the eighty
- 54:13Speaker 1: nine or eighty or whatever it was, for some reason,
- 54:16Speaker 1: the people just didn't want to give me that extra point.
- 54:18Speaker 1: It was always seven and nine seven nine. But used
- 54:23Speaker 1: that knowledge. I've used that knowledge to buy and sell
- 54:25Speaker 1: my own home. And so you kept the commission. I
- 54:27Speaker 1: did keep that check. I wanted all the bags and
- 54:30Speaker 1: I do it still. Now I'm licensing to states, and
- 54:33Speaker 1: so what was the difference between the I'm assuming Georgia. Well,
- 54:38Speaker 1: there's not because there and I still get the fancy
- 54:41Speaker 1: word that they use, uh start with SNR. It's a
- 54:44Speaker 1: fancy word that if the states are kind of like
- 54:46Speaker 1: sister states, you can just get um, you take the test.
- 54:48Speaker 1: So I took the state exam to get my license
- 54:51Speaker 1: here in Georgia. I didn't have to go through all
- 54:52Speaker 1: the educational parks. Okay. So so basically it's like almost.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I think it's called recipient. Yes, I'm smart. Okay, now
- 55:04Speaker 1: let's talk. Let's get back to stand up. Okay, I
- 55:06Speaker 1: didn't know you're in Houston. You did not, Okay, because
- 55:09Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I could have made I
- 55:11Speaker 1: could have put some money in your pocket, because Steve
- 55:13Speaker 1: Harvey was putting a lot of money and he still
- 55:17Speaker 1: is for like money. Okay, go ahead, Well you're sitting
- 55:22Speaker 1: next to money money making conversation, but I cannot be
