- 2:03Speaker 1: good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, Come on
- 2:07Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:10Speaker 1: radio show. Man. If if I had time enough to
- 2:14Speaker 1: tell the whole trip, the whole journey, and y'all would
- 2:18Speaker 1: be sitting up in there going okay to Steve, are
- 2:21Speaker 1: we gonna play the show this week? But man, it's
- 2:24Speaker 1: been a lot of amazing things has happened to me
- 2:28Speaker 1: over the years, and not all of them good. It's
- 2:34Speaker 1: been some amazingly bad things that have happened too. But
- 2:39Speaker 1: I just come on in the morning as a reminder
- 2:41Speaker 1: to everybody of the actual goodness of God that you know, man,
- 2:47Speaker 1: that these mistakes that you're making that these setbacks that
- 2:51Speaker 1: you keep having, that these falls that keep occurring in
- 2:55Speaker 1: your life, that they all are leading you somewhere. If
- 2:59Speaker 1: you don't ever give up. That's the key. You can
- 3:04Speaker 1: never ever give up because you don't know how the
- 3:08Speaker 1: trip has been laid out for you. You know, if
- 3:12Speaker 1: somebody had told me years ago when I had the
- 3:17Speaker 1: dream of being on TV and then I thought about
- 3:20Speaker 1: being a one of one of the best comedians I
- 3:24Speaker 1: could be. You know when when I when I started,
- 3:26Speaker 1: somebody had told me everything that was gonna have to
- 3:31Speaker 1: happen in order for me to get there, I would
- 3:34Speaker 1: have changed it. I would have I would have said, Okay,
- 3:38Speaker 1: well I ain't gonna be that. How about this? See
- 3:42Speaker 1: and no one can know all of the events of
- 3:45Speaker 1: their life ahead of time. You know, it'd be so nice,
- 3:48Speaker 1: wouldn't it. You know, to prepare for it, see it coming,
- 3:52Speaker 1: be aware of the haters, always knowing when the backstabbing
- 3:57Speaker 1: moment is coming in your life, always knowing when you're
- 4:01Speaker 1: gonna get blindsided by the enemy. We are really great
- 4:04Speaker 1: to know that, wouldn't it. Well, that's not how it works.
- 4:07Speaker 1: So since no one knows exactly the challenges and the
- 4:14Speaker 1: pitfalls and the detools that's going to be set them.
- 4:19Speaker 1: It's it's it's imperative that you just don't give up
- 4:23Speaker 1: because see, knowing these things, we as human beings by nature,
- 4:30Speaker 1: would choose another route. But it ain't the route God
- 4:34Speaker 1: God for you, though. See the route God God for you.
- 4:37Speaker 1: If you if you're trying to do the right thing,
- 4:40Speaker 1: if you're doing the best you can, if you ain't
- 4:43Speaker 1: out here just intentionally just messing over, folks, if you're
- 4:47Speaker 1: using faith and that's the belief in things that you
- 4:50Speaker 1: cannot see. If you have something on the inside of
- 4:53Speaker 1: you to keep saying there's got to be more to
- 4:55Speaker 1: life than that, then that's that's you. You, my friend,
- 5:00Speaker 1: have a great chance here. And if you've ever had
- 5:03Speaker 1: that feeling and gave up on it, just get it back,
- 5:07Speaker 1: Just ask for it back. Just say, hey man, I'm
- 5:10Speaker 1: getting back to the way I used to be because
- 5:13Speaker 1: there's a change that's available in your life. But you
- 5:16Speaker 1: gotta take it. You gotta take a shot at it. Folks.
- 5:19Speaker 1: There's a chance for you to get it right, but
- 5:22Speaker 1: you gotta take a shot at it. Folks. There's a
- 5:24Speaker 1: chance for you to turn this whole thing around with
- 5:27Speaker 1: God's help, but you gotta take a shot at it.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You see, this decision is yours. The decision to lay
- 5:35Speaker 1: down and give up, that's yours. It ain't it just
- 5:37Speaker 1: got too hard for me. Life too much, man, life
- 5:41Speaker 1: hard and too much for everybody. What I gotta get
- 5:44Speaker 1: you to see is if you don't lay down and
- 5:47Speaker 1: give in to it, there's some great things in store
- 5:51Speaker 1: for your life. Because all of the things, every lesson
- 5:55Speaker 1: I've ever ever learned, the best lesson has been a
- 5:59Speaker 1: bought lesson. My father used to always tell me. He said, son,
- 6:04Speaker 1: best lessons in life the born your value and learn
- 6:06Speaker 1: the most is a balt lesson. I didn't quite understand
- 6:10Speaker 1: that being young, but I showed God it now ain't
- 6:14Speaker 1: no lesson like a Balt lesson. The one you pay for.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Those are the ones that hold to you, that stick
- 6:20Speaker 1: to you, that that that start turning you into who
- 6:23Speaker 1: you're gonna be. Those are the character builders. See, you
- 6:27Speaker 1: got to be forged to get to where you want
- 6:30Speaker 1: to go in life. So that's what the challenges and
- 6:32Speaker 1: missteps is for. That's what the failing is about. Now,
- 6:36Speaker 1: I know you don't like it. I didn't I know
- 6:38Speaker 1: you're not comfortable with I wouldn't I know you wish
- 6:42Speaker 1: it was over sooner than later. I always do. I
- 6:45Speaker 1: always want it to be over sooner than later because
- 6:48Speaker 1: the later manager seems like it's so much I gotta
- 6:51Speaker 1: go through. But let me tell you something, Man, if
- 6:55Speaker 1: you can, if you can forge your way through it
- 6:58Speaker 1: and understand that you I forged in life, I don't know.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I was on TBN one time when I was doing
- 7:05Speaker 1: one of my motivational speeches, and I began to wonder
- 7:11Speaker 1: about this experience I had at Ford Motor Company. And
- 7:15Speaker 1: one of the things that I had came to the
- 7:18Speaker 1: realization of was that that job at Ford Motor Company
- 7:22Speaker 1: taught me a couple of valuable lessons. First of all,
- 7:25Speaker 1: that I had to be at work on time, because
- 7:27Speaker 1: I always was. I had a really, really good work record. Man,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I was a great employee because I because I didn't
- 7:35Speaker 1: want to disappoint anybody. You know, I already saw the
- 7:39Speaker 1: look on my parents' face when I flunked out of college.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I didn't I wanted my father to know that I
- 7:45Speaker 1: was a hard worker, and so when I got the
- 7:48Speaker 1: job at Ford, I wanted to prove to my father,
- 7:51Speaker 1: my mother. You know, the nay says, hey man, I
- 7:54Speaker 1: know how to stick to something. But my last job,
- 7:58Speaker 1: after the auto industry starts going down, my last job
- 8:01Speaker 1: was in the fountry and my job was to stand
- 8:06Speaker 1: at the end almost where the engines first come out
- 8:10Speaker 1: of the furnace. See, the engines are poured into a mold.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It's hot, melted down metal whatever they call it, lava
- 8:18Speaker 1: or whatever. They poured into a mole and it goes
- 8:21Speaker 1: into this furnace that's extremely hot. And my job was
- 8:27Speaker 1: after the heat was applied to the engine block, it
- 8:31Speaker 1: would come through and it would go through a hardening stage.
- 8:34Speaker 1: But the way it was hardening, they would cool it.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Suddenly they would flush it with water. It was just
- 8:40Speaker 1: blast water on it. But the fire and the high
- 8:44Speaker 1: temperature is what made the engine block solidified. It's because
- 8:49Speaker 1: it's gotta get real hot, get melted down first. Then
- 8:53Speaker 1: it's gotta get poured into a mole. Then it's gotta
- 8:56Speaker 1: be pressure hit with water and all of this, and
- 9:00Speaker 1: then it could and it's real hot. Now it's still
- 9:02Speaker 1: hot even though the water been shutter. But when it
- 9:05Speaker 1: comes out the end of the side, there's a lot
- 9:07Speaker 1: of flashing in it, and flashing is a metal from
- 9:10Speaker 1: that didn't dripped through the cast molding on it, just
- 9:13Speaker 1: like flecks of extra pieces of metal. My job was
- 9:18Speaker 1: to hit this engine block in the front, which is huge,
- 9:22Speaker 1: heavy rubber mallet, knock all the flashing off the front,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and when it came around back to bam, hit it
- 9:30Speaker 1: real hard again on the backside. And that became the
- 9:36Speaker 1: core of what the car is. A car without a
- 9:39Speaker 1: great engine is nothing. It's just a pretty looking vehicle
- 9:42Speaker 1: over there. But if it can't do what it was
- 9:45Speaker 1: made to do because the engine block then cracked. So
- 9:48Speaker 1: you can have a car look real good. But if
- 9:49Speaker 1: it freezes an engine block crack your car, you can
- 9:53Speaker 1: it's over man. You gotta get a new block. The
- 9:55Speaker 1: block is the core. But in order for you for
- 9:58Speaker 1: the car to do it, it's got to it's got
- 10:00Speaker 1: to have a strong engine in it. In order for
- 10:02Speaker 1: the engine to be strong, it's got to be forged
- 10:05Speaker 1: and steal, come through fire, get poured in a mole,
- 10:08Speaker 1: cooled off, heated, knocked around, beat on the front end,
- 10:12Speaker 1: beat on the back end, in order for it to
- 10:14Speaker 1: be what it's gonna be. The moral of The story, folks,
- 10:18Speaker 1: is you got to get forged in fire to be
- 10:21Speaker 1: what you gonna be. You got to get beat up,
- 10:24Speaker 1: you got to get pressure washed, you got to have
- 10:27Speaker 1: heat on you. You You gotta get melted down, you gotta
- 10:30Speaker 1: get poured into a mole. That's how you become who
- 10:33Speaker 1: you are. So the tough things that you're going through,
- 10:36Speaker 1: the difficult challenges and the setbacks. I know a brother
- 10:39Speaker 1: who went to prison, man, And the whole reason he
- 10:42Speaker 1: ended up going to prison because he was looking out
- 10:44Speaker 1: the low window, looking out in the yard at him
- 10:47Speaker 1: working out. And then the next thing, you know, man,
- 10:49Speaker 1: this brother decided that he was gonna go out there
- 10:51Speaker 1: and work out. Well, guess what, he's one of the
- 10:55Speaker 1: top trainers in country today. You're listening show. Ladies are
- 11:02Speaker 1: generally bars and girls, man, have the undivided attentition. Plea,
- 11:05Speaker 1: this is Steve Harvey Morty show. Let's stop all that
- 11:08Speaker 1: extra who I'm trying to be. Just be yourself? Ye,
- 11:15Speaker 1: stop all this acting. Yes, that's who we want you.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Back off your bills here. Well, first of all, I
- 11:25Speaker 1: want to thank the Lord that I'm alive and I
- 11:27Speaker 1: survived the weekend. Boy, thank you, Yeah you had a
- 11:39Speaker 1: little retreat. Yeah. I meant the wasn't a retreat. It
- 11:42Speaker 1: was all forward. Now retreat us when you pull back. Okay,
- 11:50Speaker 1: this was all forward. Man had a great time. Yeah.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna post some more exciting stuff soon, not now, Okay.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Shirley Strawberry, Hey, good morning, Steve, welcome back at one Pace. Yeah,
- 12:07Speaker 1: Colin for real, Happy Monday. What's up Steve and Krill?
- 12:12Speaker 1: This is the original crew. Nephew, Tommy, ya ya, welcome back.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Baby's Monday. Let's get a big dogger. You just got
- 12:24Speaker 1: the word yell us. One story, one good story, Give
- 12:27Speaker 1: us something, give us a little something. Yeah, but you
- 12:30Speaker 1: always have a story for us. I'm trying to get
- 12:33Speaker 1: what I could say though. All Right. I was hanging
- 12:36Speaker 1: out this weekend and an old frap brother mine stopped by.
- 12:40Speaker 1: His name Lucky Love. I want to thank God for
- 12:43Speaker 1: Lucky Love. One of the most brilliant brothers I know.
- 12:45Speaker 1: He was a chemist major in college. Genius. Now. The
- 12:51Speaker 1: thing with genius people is is something wrong with him?
- 12:54Speaker 1: You do understand that, don't you. You're you're one of them,
- 12:57Speaker 1: we know. Wow. So he came and he's making his
- 13:05Speaker 1: own beverages now, we're just calling beverages, okay. And he
- 13:12Speaker 1: bought this apple side of you know, with the like
- 13:15Speaker 1: a gallant apple side of jig with the little hook
- 13:18Speaker 1: on it where you can with your finger in that
- 13:20Speaker 1: little hook. But it's all glass, ain't no writing on it.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And it was brown, and there was mushrooms in the
- 13:27Speaker 1: bottom that stayed at the bottom. And he bought it
- 13:31Speaker 1: for everybody to drink. Nobody touched it. And he didn't
- 13:35Speaker 1: understand why if you just saw what this drink looked like.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I said, look, you expect us to drink it? I
- 13:40Speaker 1: absolutely do. I said, well, I gotta go to work Monday,
- 13:46Speaker 1: and I want to be able to recall who I
- 13:49Speaker 1: am on Monday. He said, well, don't drink this to Tuesday.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Then that's the only story I can tell. Y'all. Man,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you have more, I'm sure. All right. We gotta coming
- 14:04Speaker 1: up in thirty two after the hour, we'll have more
- 14:07Speaker 1: from Steve. He'll think of more on the break. We'll
- 14:09Speaker 1: be back right after this. You're listening to Steve Harvey
- 14:12Speaker 1: Morning Show. Happy Monday, everyone, What a weekend? What a weekend? Hunt?
- 14:18Speaker 1: Steve told us a little bit about his weekend. I
- 14:21Speaker 1: think that's all I could tell. I can't. That's a shame.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Sen you weekend, that's a good weekend, though, When you
- 14:30Speaker 1: got a sensor, that's a good weekend. Keep it to yourself. Well,
- 14:35Speaker 1: remind me of what reminds me of the movie Hangover?
- 14:40Speaker 1: What at the end of that movie, there's some stuff
- 14:42Speaker 1: went down, and ever when they let that when they
- 14:44Speaker 1: open up that phone and let it fly. Who what
- 14:50Speaker 1: was y'all doing? Man? Oh man when the dude walked
- 14:52Speaker 1: in that bathroom and saw that tiger. Oh yes, he
- 14:59Speaker 1: was trying to get out to damn bath through. And
- 15:01Speaker 1: I love how it ended because it just left your
- 15:04Speaker 1: imagination you figure out what happened because they really exactly right.
- 15:10Speaker 1: So you had to come up with what in the
- 15:12Speaker 1: world happened to Tommy? Well, how was your weekend? What
- 15:20Speaker 1: it was? I was a real husband. This weekend doesn't
- 15:25Speaker 1: mean I'm not It doesn't mean I'm not wanting all
- 15:28Speaker 1: day every day. But when you make comments like that, now,
- 15:34Speaker 1: I mean it was It's just she had so much
- 15:36Speaker 1: stuff lined up. We was just doing event ever, my wife, Jackie,
- 15:42Speaker 1: it was just event after event. We went to a
- 15:46Speaker 1: Jordan had a little league baseball tournament. We went to that.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Then after that, rush home, rush home, we got a
- 15:55Speaker 1: wedding at twelve far what he ain't she ain't right?
- 15:59Speaker 1: We don't have what you have? A one? A wife? What? No? No?
- 16:05Speaker 1: After that, when I went to a wed with my wife,
- 16:12Speaker 1: said it right the first time? Yeah? Boy, so man,
- 16:21Speaker 1: we are a wedding and it's a second wind. They they,
- 16:27Speaker 1: they said it wasn't gonna be extravagant. This thing was
- 16:30Speaker 1: so extravagant. I was like, this is a big as wed.
- 16:35Speaker 1: So everybody toasting all good stuff out, Like, why don't
- 16:37Speaker 1: somebody toast the real damn thing? That's just really gonna
- 16:40Speaker 1: put it out there? Wow, what does that mean? What
- 16:44Speaker 1: are you saying? It's gonna be some good days. It's
- 16:46Speaker 1: gonna be some bad days, That's what it's gonna be.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Let's just put it out. But you don't say that
- 16:50Speaker 1: at the toast. Why not? Maybe it's a second time around,
- 16:56Speaker 1: let's get it right this time. But Tommy, you just
- 17:01Speaker 1: hating on the toast. It was about twelve toasts. It
- 17:05Speaker 1: was like going to a funeral. What they be having
- 17:07Speaker 1: the remarks for three minutes? It was there will be
- 17:10Speaker 1: days when you're going to regret this, No you can't.
- 17:17Speaker 1: That will be days when you're going to regret this.
- 17:20Speaker 1: But take that out your mind though fast as you can,
- 17:25Speaker 1: and try to remember that you love each other. When
- 17:28Speaker 1: she's cussing you out, try to remember that you love
- 17:31Speaker 1: each other exactly. So check us out, So check us out.
- 17:36Speaker 1: So after that, there is a you know, my wife's
- 17:40Speaker 1: an aka, So there's a the Brothers of Alpha fire
- 17:44Speaker 1: out for they having a regional convention. He wants to
- 17:47Speaker 1: go hang out somewhere where they having something. Now, mind you,
- 17:50Speaker 1: we got on. I got on clothes and I went
- 17:52Speaker 1: to a wed Then she didn't brought a change or clothes.
- 17:56Speaker 1: He changed. She flies ready to go party. I got
- 18:01Speaker 1: on the wedding suit. I woke. Wow the wedding suit.
- 18:05Speaker 1: You quote who wore? No who? And tell me your
- 18:10Speaker 1: wife can really dance? I mean wow, I've never seen
- 18:16Speaker 1: Jackie dance sticking, really dance. Well, that's about the opposite
- 18:23Speaker 1: of her husband, because he can he can nap. She
- 18:29Speaker 1: get you get his boy cane. Oh, this boy hell
- 18:32Speaker 1: on hot water with a cane. Now, he showed some
- 18:35Speaker 1: young boys up and came to a morning show performance
- 18:39Speaker 1: one time and they were stepping time and took that
- 18:42Speaker 1: cane from the young boys and showed them how to
- 18:45Speaker 1: do it. They were sitting there with their mouths hanging
- 18:47Speaker 1: over wild open. Wow have you hopped with some young boys? Man?
- 18:55Speaker 1: It's different now, dog, they have no idea what they're doing.
- 19:00Speaker 1: What do you mean they don't do it like you
- 19:02Speaker 1: guys did it back in the day. No, they're clapping
- 19:05Speaker 1: their hands between their legs, smacking their shoes, twirling, turn
- 19:12Speaker 1: their legs. No, oh no, nothing, oh no, no, sun
- 19:18Speaker 1: no suck, okay, okay, no, I'll ye. I ain't ain't.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I ain't. No patting your boot, ain't. No, we ain't
- 19:27Speaker 1: do no clapping between our legs, none of that. Well,
- 19:30Speaker 1: it's something wrong with it. I mean, I mean, you know, look,
- 19:34Speaker 1: it's evolved, so it's I can't say it's nothing wrong
- 19:36Speaker 1: with it. The stuff looks good. Sometimes I'm young young
- 19:41Speaker 1: boys be doing it. I ain't mad at him. It
- 19:43Speaker 1: just ain't what we did. It's so different now. You know,
- 19:46Speaker 1: jas slide slide, you slide too much. Where we're going
- 20:00Speaker 1: with this? What happened to thee? What happened to the hot?
- 20:06Speaker 1: And it's changed, man, it's it's different. It's fun to watch,
- 20:11Speaker 1: you know, the young boys beginning, but after two of
- 20:13Speaker 1: them they threw. Yeah, all the boys ain't in the
- 20:17Speaker 1: shape either. Some weight on the ass. You know. You
- 20:21Speaker 1: jump up in there three times, clapping up, barking and
- 20:24Speaker 1: chanting and doing a twirl in the little skinny as
- 20:27Speaker 1: boy slide one more time, cues slide. Okay, you can
- 20:32Speaker 1: see the big boys starting the wheeze. Do they bark differently?
- 20:36Speaker 1: Because I know you you bark strong. He isn't. I'm
- 20:40Speaker 1: surprised I have a voice. And a young boy got
- 20:44Speaker 1: in a ball contest. Oh really, Oh I balked him
- 20:48Speaker 1: down down to the point where he sat down and said,
- 20:53Speaker 1: I'm sorry, come over here, man with that all right?
- 20:57Speaker 1: Listen church complaints with rebend motel and Deacon death jam.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harpy Morning
- 21:05Speaker 1: Show coming up at the top of the hour, and
- 21:07Speaker 1: entertainment news a change dot Org petition seeking to have
- 21:12Speaker 1: the intersection of Crenshaw and Slawson renamed to Nancy hustle Away.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Also in more entertainment news, Ray j and Prince's Love
- 21:21Speaker 1: are for twenty thousand dollars for their missing dogs plus
- 21:25Speaker 1: s damn. Yeah, that's a lot. Should Sam is number
- 21:28Speaker 1: one movie in America? How about that? But right now
- 21:30Speaker 1: it is Monday, and you know what that means. Reverend Motown,
- 21:34Speaker 1: Deacon death jam in the building with today's church complaints.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Let's go we oh for these wonderful we here, galboy,
- 21:49Speaker 1: as we do traditionally on this great month to morning
- 21:58Speaker 1: oh eep and tod of cool m festivals ampatology or

- 24:10Speaker 1: there but four hours late or no. We all don't
- 24:15Speaker 1: really know how this is gonna work out. But all right,
- 24:19Speaker 1: well I deal with it. I called t ain't I

- 28:06Speaker 1: get in the way when the Lord is moving. Yeah, spirit. No,
- 28:14Speaker 1: she went back to being hurt immediately after that. But

- 28:23Speaker 1: fact that she doesn't need back flips with that neck
- 28:25Speaker 1: brais on. I can attest to that. Soon the spirit

- 53:45Speaker 1: Oh wait till you hear this one, subject one splash
- 53:47Speaker 1: of alcohol Ended Everything. Here Stephen Shirley, I'm the subject
- 53:52Speaker 1: from one of your recent letters. I was the wife
- 53:55Speaker 1: that found out at a birthday cook out that my
- 53:58Speaker 1: husband cheated on me with his best friend's daughter. Remember
- 54:02Speaker 1: that letter last week? Okay, this is the wife my
- 54:09Speaker 1: husband cheated on me with his best friend's daughter. Remember
- 54:12Speaker 1: that letter? Yeah? All right, that day will stand out
- 54:15Speaker 1: in my mind forever. We had only been at a party.
- 54:18Speaker 1: At the party for a few minutes when my husband
- 54:21Speaker 1: got a drink thrown in his face. I watched it
- 54:24Speaker 1: all go left really quick. I had to drag my
- 54:28Speaker 1: husband to safety because of all the men at the party,
- 54:32Speaker 1: they were trying to jump on him. When we got home,
- 54:35Speaker 1: I beat his behind two for embarrassing me. He had
- 54:39Speaker 1: infidelity issues in the past, and we worked through them.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Little did I know he was back to his old
- 54:45Speaker 1: tricks with his best friend's daughter. When I think back
- 54:49Speaker 1: to how he came home from that business trip with scratches,
- 54:53Speaker 1: rug burns and a big wealth on his back, he
- 54:56Speaker 1: told me it came from a demonstration he had done
- 54:59Speaker 1: at the expo. After that night, after that night, my
- 55:05Speaker 1: husband told me he was not in love with me anymore.
- 55:08Speaker 1: I told him he should leave, and he did. When
- 55:11Speaker 1: he left, I put his clothes in a bag in
- 55:13Speaker 1: a big old garbage can and destroyed everything he left
- 55:18Speaker 1: at the house. My husband filed a police report when
- 55:21Speaker 1: he saw his damage stuff, and I ended up paying
- 55:24Speaker 1: a twelve hundred dollars fine. But it was all worth it.
- 55:28Speaker 1: It was all worth it. Our divorce is almost final,
- 55:32Speaker 1: and I'm ready to hang out with my girls and
- 55:35Speaker 1: start dating after being tied down for twenty five years.
- 55:39Speaker 1: But everyone in town knows my business, so I constantly
- 55:42Speaker 1: deal with comments and rumors. I have considered moving to
- 55:46Speaker 1: a new city. How do I move on? Please help?
- 55:50Speaker 1: Can I just say? Can I just say from my
- 55:53Speaker 1: heart to yours? I love you? Can I just say that? Right? Carla?
- 55:58Speaker 1: I applaud everything you have done and are about to do,
- 56:02Speaker 1: especially burning up the clothes and the garbage. Can I
- 56:06Speaker 1: applaud you? Applause you? I applaud you do bo yes,
- 56:14Speaker 1: ju ju buh. It sounds like you've been a good
- 56:17Speaker 1: and faithful wife to your unfaithful, lying husband twenty five years,
- 56:23Speaker 1: a really long time. You said you worked through his
- 56:26Speaker 1: infidelity in the past. Well, you don't have to deal
- 56:29Speaker 1: with that anymore from him. How do I move on?
- 56:34Speaker 1: You ask? Well, I just you know, have to say.
- 56:36Speaker 1: You have to take it a day at a time.
- 56:39Speaker 1: It's not going to be easy, but you will get
- 56:41Speaker 1: through with this. Two shall pass? Take it a day
- 56:43Speaker 1: at a time, you know, and you can ignore those
- 56:47Speaker 1: haters that think they know your business. You don't owe
- 56:50Speaker 1: them anything. You don't have to explain anything to them.
- 56:53Speaker 1: About what happened with your marriage. If they know everything,
- 56:56Speaker 1: then they already know, so you just go on about
- 56:59Speaker 1: your life. I don't let them run you out of
- 57:01Speaker 1: town unless you want to go. It's your town too.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Things happen, they have issues, all right. You can stay
- 57:07Speaker 1: there and build a new life for yourself. Now, if
- 57:09Speaker 1: you want to leave, that's on you. But you don't
- 57:11Speaker 1: have to answer to them. You owe them nothing. And
- 57:15Speaker 1: once again I applaud you. I applaud you for getting
- 57:19Speaker 1: rid of him. Steve, Well, you know I can't argue
- 57:23Speaker 1: with the female perspective of how you feel about this
- 57:26Speaker 1: to low down ass dude, Yeah, he was gonna get
- 57:29Speaker 1: his drawls toe off by all the men and the
- 57:32Speaker 1: girl's family, or she threw the drink in his face.
- 57:36Speaker 1: You found out he embarrassed you, You jumped on him
- 57:39Speaker 1: at home, but you burned his clothes up. I don't
- 57:44Speaker 1: just leave, just say goodbye. Get your lawyer says, oh, well,
- 57:49Speaker 1: what is you burn in the clothes up fall? Why
- 57:52Speaker 1: does his clothes have to be burned? Well, she says,
- 57:55Speaker 1: she's put him. She put him in a big garbage
- 57:57Speaker 1: can and destroyed everything he left at the house. I
- 58:01Speaker 1: don't understand that's burning. I hope so it's what it was.
- 58:05Speaker 1: That's why she got to find because of the black
- 58:08Speaker 1: smoke was all over the name. Yes, yes, that's what
- 58:13Speaker 1: define was fall illegal burning girl. Now, but let's get
- 58:19Speaker 1: into a couple of things that I want to talk about. Right.
- 58:23Speaker 1: You gotta twenty twelve hundred dollars fine from the police,
- 58:28Speaker 1: probably got a restrain in order. You didn't want to
- 58:30Speaker 1: tell us that, but you must stay without one two
- 58:35Speaker 1: hundred yards of your husband problem. I'm just saying. But
- 58:38Speaker 1: you're happy though, because you've been released from twenty five
- 58:43Speaker 1: years of being tied down. But let's talk about why? Why?
- 58:48Speaker 1: What is why? Okay? Because as you look back on
- 58:55Speaker 1: how he came home from that business trip with scratches,
- 59:01Speaker 1: rug burns in a big old world, let's talk about this.
- 59:06Speaker 1: First of all, how did he get the scratches? Well?
- 59:11Speaker 1: I remember last week the ladies said I was in
- 59:14Speaker 1: the shower taking a shower, and next thing I knew,
- 59:19Speaker 1: I was holding on to the shower dough for dear life,
- 59:26Speaker 1: ringing it. When something is happening to you for your
- 59:29Speaker 1: dear life, you're probably reaching back, grabbing. I think that's
- 59:37Speaker 1: how the scratches came about now, then, it says rug burns. Yeah,
- 59:46Speaker 1: she said last week. It started in the shower, the bedroom,
- 59:52Speaker 1: out on the balcony. I'm assuming he did all this
- 59:59Speaker 1: while I remained in a certain position. But when you
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: go to the bed, over the bed, on the way
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: over there to the all the way over there to
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: the balcony, I think he was on his knees. He
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: was on his knees the entire time, hanging on. Then
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: he was hanging on for dear life. She you was
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: hanging on for dear life in the shower. Then he
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: was hanging on. That's how he got the work. But
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: now let's talk about this big quilt on his back.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: How did he get the big quilt on his back? Wow,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I tell you that when we come back. But it
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: happened on the balcony. Wow. This was his best friend's daughter.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Don't forget. Yeah, don't worry about that. That's over. That's
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: why the marriage is over, daughter or girlfriend, And that's
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: why the dude's gonna whip his or when I come back,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: and I'm gonna tell you how the welt got on it. Okay,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: I know all this stuff. Come, I'm sixty two. All right, Steve,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: we'll have part two of your response coming up at
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. Today's Strawberry Letters, subject one
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: splash of alcohol ended everything. We'll get back into it
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening show, All right, Steve, Let's
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: recap today's strawberry letter, subject one, splash of alcohol ended everything.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: This is a recap Shirley last week got to let
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: about the man that slept with his best friend his daughter.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: This woman right and in talking about I'm the woman.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I'm the wife of the man who slept with his
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: best for his daughter. And now I retaliated. We're getting
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: a divorce. I burned all his clothes up. All that's
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: jumping on. We got it so now he isn't. He
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: came home with scratches, rug burns and the big quilt mark.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Now we went over how we got the scratches go.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: When he had her hanging on for dear life on
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: this shower, you reach back when somebody got you ain't
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: going on for deal like That's how the scratches got started.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Then the rug burns was she said. He went from
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: the shower to the bedroom to the balcony. I'm assuming
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: he's tried to stay in the same position the whole time,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: thus burning up his knees. Now, how did he get
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: this big welt on his back? Because out on the
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: balcony day is always a really okay, all right old
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: dude and got tired. Now his back is up against
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: the realm, thus the wealth on his back. And I
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: know that because of the fact that the reason I
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: know that is because I've done all of this all right,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: bringing on home. Yeah, yeah, I've done all of this.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: I've done all of this, all of it, and I've
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: gone from the shower to the bedroom to the balcony.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: All this has happened. It's very doable, and that's what
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: popped off. So now I know how he got scratched.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: I know white k needs got burned on it. I
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: know how you get it well on your back. It
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: could either come from the balcony rail it or that TV.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: Huh okay, So what happened sometimes you be leaning against
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: that TV on your back. So what I think we
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: should do is surely yeah, because this is what broke
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: it up. She looked back on a temperator started, but
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: it just verified everything when she went through how he
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: was when he came from the ex part the business trip. Yeah,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: with all the scratches and rugburns. Yeah, so surely, yes,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: I'm home. You mad and you asking me about the scratches. Button.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: This is how I'm gonna explain it, knowing what I
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: just told y'all have, but this is how he gonna explain.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: All right. And what about all these scratches you had
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: on your back? What is that about? Scratches? Yeah, scratches,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: scratches on my back. They're right there, They're right there.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: You know, I see them. Anybody go blind man can
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: see them. Well, see what happened was uh huh? I
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: was hanging my clothes up in the closet, Yes, and
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: I fell back and all the cod hanger spun off
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: at the same time, and the hooks, all them hooks
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: were crossing my back. I said, damn, Now that's a lie.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: That's a lie and the truth thing and that you
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: know that because you don't never hang your clothes up.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: That's why I know I failed, because I was trying
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: to do it for the first time. And what about
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: the r Okay, all right, forget that, because you're just
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: gonna lie your way out of that. What about these
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: rug burns. What's wrong with your knees? You know you
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: got bad knees. I know I was going down the
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: steps and fail sleep right on my knees. We don't
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: have no no, But I was at the hotel at
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: the expo they do at the expo, and all in
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: burns was on my knees. Did anybody help you up?
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Hell no, they ain't help me up. And that's how
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: I got the rest of the burns on my knee
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: because I'm trying to get up and I couldn't and
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: my knee would just burning. Yeah, it looks like you
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: really had it. Looks like you were just sliding around
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: the floor. That's what it looks like. It doesn't look
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: like it doesn't look like you fell. It looks like
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: you did it on purpose, all right? In the big wealth?
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: Why why would I do that on purpose to my knees?
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Then burns like that, and I don't What about the
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: wealth on your back? Explain that quite well? You don't
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: see that big, big, big He sounded like your nephew.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: What about the big wealth on your back? You didn't
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: have that when you left out of here to go
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: to you. It's so called is in this trip your expo.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: I don't see no welt on my back. Turn around, now,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: turn around, Jesse, I am turning around. I still don't
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: see no, no my back. What is you tripping for? Oh,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I'm not tripped. Bake up your mind? Is day scratches
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: or is day well? It's both. It's a well, it's
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: a scratch and your knees have rug burns. And I
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: don't believe I'm cheating. Remember back in the day when
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: you cheating. But we worked through that one. Remember that.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Wait a minute, Wait a minute, I didn't have no
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: scratches rug burns in the world on my back back
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: then cheat And that's how cheat. So this can't excuse
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: me because that's how cheat. I cheat without all it marks.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: Now you're talking about the marks. It can't be because
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: when I cheat, I don't do marks. No no, no, no, no, no,
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: no no no OK. I was working. Meet Listen to me.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: I'm me by my name, Alice, Alice, Alice, Alice said, Alice, Alice,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Listen Alice in the gene. When I when I made
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: do the stage before, I never was scratched or had
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: no wells or the thing, no bruke burns on my
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: knee because that ain't high cheek. You didn't have to Jesse, Earl.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: I caught you that time. I caught you, remember, see,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: but you didn't catch me this time cause it was
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: nothing to your lies. You will be getting your divorce
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: papers soon any day now, Okay, aw, it's already, yes,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: it's all it's almost already down. Okay to damn and
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: you're gonna walk out of here, Necker, because I've destroyed
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: everything in the garbage can thank you very much. Alice. Wait,
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: wait minute, the pink suit, all of that, all right,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: we gotta go. I thought that for valid. All right, listen,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: we gotta get out of here. Email us, Instagram US
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: your thoughts on today's Strawberry letter. At Steve Harvey FM's
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: coming up in ten minutes, President Trump says to migrants,
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: our country is full, and actor Isaiah Washington cheers on
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: President Trump while calling out mister Obama. Done Dune done.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Oh all right, we'll get into it right after this.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. In political news,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Department of Homeland Security Secretary Christian Nielsen resigned yesterday after
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: clashing with the President over illegal border crossings. The President
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: also stead and speech in his speech to migrants, immigrants,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: and asylum seekers at the borders, the country is full.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Take a listen to this. This is our new statement.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: The system is full. Can't take you anymore, whether it's asylum,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: whether it's anything you want, it's illegal immigration, can't take
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: you anymore. We can't take you. Our country is full,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: are areas full, The sector is full. Can't take you anymore.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I'm sorry, can't happen the country. Wow, the country's full.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Wrong man, that's a statement. The country's full. This ain't
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: a joke. No, the country's fool. So what about the
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: quote on a statue of liberty? No, No, that doesn't
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: apply from people who come from south of the border.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Oh bring us? Yeah, yeah, that he was talking about
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: people from the East Europe. Stuff like that. You can't
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: have brown skin and think that we talked about chill
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: hands on this statue. That's not what this is. Wow,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: that's really something right there. That. Yeah. Yeah. In related news,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: here's something justice crazy. Former Grey's Anatomy star actor Isaiah
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Washington thanked President Donald Trump for supporting criminal justice reform,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: and he criticized former president former president Barack Obama for
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: not doing the same to help the black agenda. All right,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: mister Trump and the White House celebrated the First Step
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Step Act. It's a prison reform bill focused on inmate rehabilitation,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: with a dinner that included prominent figures such as Isaiah Washington.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: The event also included as a discussion about furthering reform efforts.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: And that's a jester that Isaiah Washington said mister Obama
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: never did during his time in office. Isaiah said he
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: voted for forty four twice but never heard back from him.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: But those who know know that I'm not a Democrat
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: or a Republican. After making headlines and receiving heavy backlash,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Isaiah tweeted, I may have ninety nine problems with forty five,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: but mass incarceration ain't one of them, he wrote, So
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: what does he didn't hear back from President on bombs
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: that what he up said about he didn't hear back? Well,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: he said, he said he voted twice for him and
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: he never heard back from him. I voted for him too.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: I ain't looking for him to pick up That's not
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: how that works, sir. And for you to make a
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: comparison between the forty four and the forty fifth. I
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: don't think you understand what you're saying. You know, and
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: you just can't. Can't make those types of statements. Now,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: somebody misunderstand your visit take take it from me. I
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: know what that feels like. But you don't compound it
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: with an idiotic ass statement like and I love that.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: I don't know him, I might know who even if
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: I saw us work, but you will. I mean, man,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: you got to You can't say that and expect not
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: to get some type of backlash. Especially. Look, man, if
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: you want to be a Trump supporter, just be that,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: but don't knock the forty fourth to get your point
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: across for the forty fifth, because if you start doing that,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: you're gonna lose that comparison. You're going to lose that
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: comparison now. Just because the forty fifth is taken your
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: call and calling you back, it's only because he needs
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: something from you. And so, man, if I were you,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: i'd be very very careful. But you you can't do
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: it like that. Man, I'm just telling you. I'm just
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: telling you, dog, you can't use President Obama to bloster
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: your can't your your claim with boaster whatever it is
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: blost to see see that seeb Let me just use
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: this one. You can't bloster see see now, I'm not
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: a fact. I want to say it like that ship.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: I appreciate you telling me it's bolster, but you can't
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: blost to your damn viewpoints by comparing him to the
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: forty to the forty five. It ain't the same dog.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Now if we get to comparing, like when we had
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: a hope, we can stick our chests out. We were
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: proud of our president. The world felt like that was
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: a change in this country. He was respected worldwide by
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: all world leaders. He did more to try to bring
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: about an embracement and unity around the world, and we
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: were getting close. Number forty five has done away with
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: all of that, all of it, done away with all
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: of it. He has rescinded everything this president has ever done.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Now compare that to forty four and forty five. Bro,
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: don't do that man to our very first African American president.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? Because you never heard from him?
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Who are you that he got to stop running the nation.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: See this president, he didn't tweet. This president stayed in
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: the White House and handle business. You sound just like
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: some emails. He said, Man, don't you know what many
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: people saying the president emails you can't get to the
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: president of no damn email. Well, I'm just saying what
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: he says. He can't respond to an email. He's the president.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: This ain't Trump Trump betweeting about TV shows and stuff
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: people say about him that forty four didn't do that.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: He's not. He wasn't a petty president. No, because he
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: stayed on the wall. He stayed on the wall and
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: did what he was supposed to do. It's wrong with you, man,
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: you see see Look, man, you can make a mistake
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: and blow something out and done it, but you can't
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: fix your mistake with a with a dumber damn statement. Yeah.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: How you like that bloster of the um list in
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: my two words other day? Yeah, Isaiah Washington said he's
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: not a Democrat or a Republican, but he voted for
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Obama twice and never heard back from them from him.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: So wow, you may not be a Democratic Republican, but
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: you steal a brother. Coming up at the top of
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: the hour, the nc Double A's men's championship game is tonight,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: and congratulations finally to the women's national champions Baylor University
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: A good game. M girls was bawling. We'll talk more
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: sports right after this. You're listening, all right, Temmy. The
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: ncble A Men's Basketball Championship game is tonight. What does
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: that mean? Tell me know what that means. That means
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: Texas Tech Red Raiders, Ye, all right, are pairing up
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: against Virginia. Baby, it's the NCAA Queens Championship tonight. What
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: you think, Steve Oh pick Texas Tech the other day too,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: states Yeah, they have a defense, man, that's crazy. The
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: problem is Virginia has a defense too, ye, and it's
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: gonna be a ugly, ugly struggle tonight. I predict this
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: is what my prediction is. The score tonight would be
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: in the fifties. Really, it would be in the fifties.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: And it can go either way. But just what I'm
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: kind of looking at, man, because Dan't nobody thought Texas
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: would be that Texas Tech that was talking about Virginia
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: early on, but that was never talk about Texas Tech.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: Texas Tech could stun him, stun them. Dog. I actually thought,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: I actually thought Urban was gonna be Virginia. Man, I
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: thought it was there. Now everybody was upset about that call.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: But the cause was legitimate. It was a legit him
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: a call, man, it really was, and I didn't see
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: it explaining it to you, even when we tell you
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: what happened, you're not gonna You're not Shelly, And I
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: was something. No, see right there, it was made all three.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: So I was I was in an event and came
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: out and just saw the end double and all the
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: browsers in that time, My man Auburn got robbed. But
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: when I went and saw the replay at the bar, no,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: that was that was a legitimate file. That was a
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: real fault. That was a real call. But let me
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: ask you this before that though, before the file, was
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: that a double dribble? Hell yeah, yeah, hell yeah, quiet.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: He threw the ball behind his back, he hit his
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: own foot, He picked it up and dribble again. That's
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: double dribble, partner, m who you Well, you take that away,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: dog and they get the ball back. Now you it's
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: a whole different ball game. Arbor wins. Yeah. Yeah, but
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: we we have to we have to give man. Congratulations
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: to Baylor, the girl Baylor, Lady Bards won that thing.

- 1:18:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry you right, because not your dame. The girl
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: who wanted the two buzzer beaters in the finals last year. Uh,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: the sister beautiful sisters. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: I don't know how to say it. She's a bad girl.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: She's a bad girl. They filed her with three point
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: six seconds left. Did you still stop, Steve, did you
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: just say open? Yeah? Yeah, Timmy, Tommy, see you gotta learn,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: cousin don't help, said, oh no, so okay, never mind. Dog.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: She got to the free throws three free throw line
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: with three point six seconds now, and they were down
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: by two, and she missed the first one, and then
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: she made the second one. So let me ask you this,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: what do you think when you missed the first one,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: you intentionally missed that second one? Well, you can try,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: but you know what do you mean try to miss?
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: Just missed the damn shot and hope y'all get the rebound. Well,
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: but they make it, they take it out. They got
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: to go for the steal and then thrown up. You
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: got a better chance of that. It didn't work, It
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: was it didn't work. But she missed the free throw.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: You ain't gonna make all the free throws through. I
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: wasn't mad at the girl. It wasn't her fault. She
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: took it real hard, but it was not her faunt
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: So bail one man, but Baylor deserved it. Has some
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: bad girls out there with Baylor man, Lady Bars and
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: who you picking? Who you picking the night? Virginia Tech.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: I think I think Tech gonna edge Amount man because
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: they're just gritty. They're just real, real gritty man, Okay,
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: real real gritty. We'll see what's going down to night, baby,

- 1:21:32Speaker 1: two buzzer beaters last year to get them into the
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: final four and then to win it, to get to
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: win in the final four and then win the championship game.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: She had buzzer beaters at both K that's a bad girl.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: M congratulations again, that's good to Baylor. I know a
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: lot of people went to Baylor. To me, nobody. I
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: only have had three friends went to college dog Gon
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: for real. It was me, Rick and Butcher. We all
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: went to college. All of us is cues Butch college. No.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: I mean, I was asking did he go? Girl? It's
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: the question question. But he lived on the street shirt.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: All right, we'll be watching the Man championship game tonight, Tommy.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: It's gonna be good. It's gonna be good. I like
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: it when they pay up like this. I like it
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: when it's down to the y last with a one
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: minute on the clock is tied up, let's go. Anybody
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: can win. Let me ask you guys this, Do you
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: bet on this? Do you bet on college game? I don't, Okay,
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: I don't bet on games hardly, but people do though, right?
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, I think athletes athletes I do too,
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: always have yeah, yeah, legally yeah, all right, guys, we
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: gotta get out of here. We'll be back with more
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right. There's no
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: shortage of pointers out there for how to have a
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: happy marriage. We've all heard that you should never go
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: to bed angry, that's in the Bible, and how important
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: date nights are. But if you want to know what
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: the key to a long lasting marriage is, the leading expert,
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: maybe one hundred year old Miss Willie Williams. Say it
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: with me, Tommy, Miss Willie Wick. She's been married to husband,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: mister d. W. Williams for eighty two Yeah, eighty two years, Steve,
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: eighty two years. Yeah, that's really right. That's a light Yeah,
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: eighty two years and she's a hundred molding like yeah,
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: but I'm just saying, like, wow, that is They're the
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: longest I've ever heard. All right there, She's now happy
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: to share her secret to making it last. Missus Williams
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: is from North Carolina. Uh, she says, women recently celebrated
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: her joint birthdays with her hubby, who just turned one
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: hundred and three. Okay, so she and her husband just
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: celebrated he turned one hundred and three. She turned one
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: hundred at a party in Charlotte, where she revealed that
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: kindness is the key to her longevity. I freaking love
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: that kindness is the key, she says, Just be nice
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: to each other. Off, if me and Jackie knifed each
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: other from he on it, we find it a hunted
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: You know, you're you're, you're, you're, You're not gonna make
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: it because it doesn't really matter how nice you are, Timmy,
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: is your stupidity gonna This is niceness, not nice and dumb. Ye.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: This couple has lived through a lot, from the Great
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: Depression to the Civil Rights Movement, but they still remember
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: meeting in South Carolina way back in nineteen thirty seven.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Uh doctor doctor william says she was good looking and
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: his wife thought he was handsome at thirty. So just
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: be nice to each other, all right? That's it seems
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: like solid advice for a lasting marriage. I mean that
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: seems so simple, right. Uh yeah, that's easy to say.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: Yeahs least some stuff be happening. Yeah, yeah, crazy. So
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: so what do you think it is, Steve to what
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: the secret to a long lasting marriage? You know you
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: can agree with this just I mean, it's got to
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: be trust, and uh, that has to be a bond.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: I think the bond is really really import and if
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: there's such a great trust in the bond, it makes
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: feel better time, you know. And then I think, I
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: think each couple has to have a certain amount of
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: self and freedom to be themselves so you don't get
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: lost in the relationship and you become just this person
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: who is you know, yeah, or missus so and so,
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: and you got to have some things to yourself that
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: makes you you, that keeps you alive and bubbly. And
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: I think y'all got to miss each other. Yep, I agree.
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: I think that every day working together, some people can
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: do it and be very happy at it. So it's
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: not with anyone formula, but certain couples need that time
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: away from each other to remain fresh. Yeah you know. Yeah,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: and you're right, every couple is different. You have to
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: do what works for you once you find out what is.
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: Because these couples he worked together, live together and then
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: they're doing really well. So I can't really say, yeah,
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: let's be nice to each other. Yeah, be nice to
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: each other. Wow, yes, and take a break. So when
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: we take the breaks, we can go. We can go
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: anywhere when we take the break. Yeah, okay, just say
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: ye all right. We'll be back with more of a
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're listening to
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: the Steven Show. In today's entertainment news. Congresswoman Karen Bass
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: plans to head to the House floor this week to
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: formally enter Nipsey Hustle's contributions to South Los Angeles into
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: the Congressional record, where it will be a part of
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: United States history forever. She says, that's really nice. She
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: says Nipsey was a proponent of community development at the
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: real estate and intellectual level who was all about empowerment,
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: specifically when it came to the economic opportunity in South LA.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: A change dot org petition seeking to have the intersection
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: of Crenshaw and Slawson in the Hyde Park neighborhood of
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: Los Angeles renamed to Nipsey Hustle away has attracted over
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: four hundred and fifteen thousand signatures and counting. In the meantime, Yeah,
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: Nipsey's memorial service is this coming Thursday at the Staples Center.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: Wow Wow, Yeah, people loved Nipsey hustle. I mean, yes,
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: tribute still all this past weekend. Yeah, all over the world.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, all right, Well we're gonna switch gears, lighten
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: things up a bit here. Ray J and his wife
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: Prince's Love are very serious, they say about finding their
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: missing dog, and by that we mean they're willing to
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: pay twenty thousand dollars that's right, twenty thousand dollars to antyone,
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: anyone who finds it. Prince's Love announced on Saturday night
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: that one of the couple's Maltese dogs, Bugatti that's his name,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: has gone missing from their home in Calabasa. Hold on,
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: hold on what what the dog look like? Because I
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: can get your dog Maltese? Is it white, white mat
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: that's what they want for twenty If I do that, though,
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna get him the wrong dog, because I don't
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: know what the Maltese says. You know, when you see him,
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: see cute dogs, so cute who answers? Is cute? Who
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: answers to the name of Bugatti? Though? That's the thing.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: So if we get a dog and train him the
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: answer to Bugatti, we got doin it. Cup. I think
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: they gonna know that's not him because they gonna Bugatti,
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: that you're gonna train. Ain't even gonna know ray J.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: Then you're sitting there looking at their heads, crazy, what
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: forgot it? I'm Bugatti? But who are you? Princess Love
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: says they believe Bugatti might be in the neighboring Woodland
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: Hills area they live in Calaba, I said she and
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: ray J. According to TMZ, Rayj's parents were dog sitting
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: over the weekend when Bugatti escaped through a gate on
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: their property around We don't know where, and old people did.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: We don't know where that dog left the gate out.
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: I looked out there and I saw the dog in
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: the yard and he was just running and running. And
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: the next thing I know, I can't see that dog.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: I said, hey, gotty, and I ain't nothing. I just
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: gotta got it, Daddy, it's book. Gott it boy, I said,
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: got in there. You don't answer that. He him, Mama, Daddy,
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: we gotta find the dog. He gone. He won't tell
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: you no more. See so or Botaga. When when he
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: took off, I didn't know what. Okay, you know, I
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: called him. I was outside on the port out mother
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: Rodi mod water, all right, we'll be back for our
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: last break of the day and Steve Harvey's closing remarks
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: right after this. You don't want to miss it. You're
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: listening to show, all right, Steve, here we are last
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: break of the day on this Monday. Leave us with
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: some closing remarks. Yeah, you know, um, this is gonna
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: be a little bit different than what I normally do,
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: but it's gonna be encouraging and uplifting, but of a
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: different nature. This weekend, I was in a place where
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: I was around nothing but friends. It was a bunch
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: of friends of mine, and I saw guys that I
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: hadn't seen some of them in forty three years. I
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: have known these guys for forty five years. Two of
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: the guys that was there, we have been friends since
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: we were four years old. Butcher Rico, these boys and
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: I have been friends for fifty eight years. And I
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: was so proud of my partner, Rico Man, because I
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: was just watching him and how he you know, man
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: took care of himself, and you know, he had his
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: sheet that he carried with him everywhere on his phone
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: that reminded him of what to eat and what not
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: to eat. I got the list from him, you know,
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: I've seen it before, but I didn't follow it as
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: stranger as him, and we were all talking about it,
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: and I just wanted to talk to you on for
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: a second today about your health. You know, this is
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: an AC radio station, so the majority of people who
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: listened to this show are full grown adults with children.
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: We've got some millennials that listened to the show, but
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: that this is an adult contemporary show, and so we
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: have a wide range of people. But wherever you add
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: in life, you can do better. Everybody can improve their
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: current status in life. And the thing I want to
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: talk to you about is just improving your health. You know,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: the two most important things that you have in your
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: life is your health and your time, because if you're
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: out of either one of those, you're in trouble. Health
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: and time are your two most important commodities that you
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: have and that you have some say. So when you
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: have soul, you have a lot of say so in
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: your time, you may not know when your time is up,
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: but the time you have available to you, you have
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: a say soul in every last one of those minutes.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: And in your health you have a say soul. Now,
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: some things can come upon us, I know that I'm
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: not naive that we can be stricken with an illness
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: that we have no control over and could not have
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: stopped it. And then some of the stuff we can
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: prevent through what we eat. Not all of it, but
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: some of it. And as I was with some of
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: my great friends, Man, I watched so many guys that
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: had taken care of themselves. Man, we were sitting around
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: that was about There was a few of them, Man,
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: Man that I really felt for because I went wild, Man,
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: what's happening here? And I sat with him. I wanted
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: to encourage them and put my arms around them. But
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: I got a radio show. I can reach a lot
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: more people. You are what you eat. You are exactly
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: what you eat, and you can change how you are
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: by changing what you eat. You can start feeling better
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: and doing better by eating better. And I'm telling you, man,
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: as a culture, we don't always make the best food choices. Now,
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: I understand what's wrong. I understand that in our communities
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: that all know fresh grocery stores. I understand that we
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: live in these baring cities and you walk, you drive
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: down some streets and you could see every fast food
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: chain in the world, back to back to back to
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: back to back to back to back to back to back,
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: and I got that they're so convenient and easy because
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: they're right there and they make it inexpensive to come
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: in and get it, and they always got a special
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: for you to come in. But man, we're eating the
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: wrong stuff. Man, we got to start thinking about better
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: choices with what we eat if we want to be here.
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: I heard a doctor say one time, what you eat
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: in your forties, we would diagnosed for you in your fifties. Well,
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: we diagnosed for you in your fifties, we will treat
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: you for in your sixties, and whatever we're treating you
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: for in your sixties, we will bury you for in
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: your seventies. And I was sitting there, wait a minute, whoa,
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: And that's kind of crazy. And I'm thinking that forty
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: and really fix the way you live and your forties.
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: So what you're eating in your forties, if they're gonna
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: diagnose in your fifties, and what they diagnosed in their fifties,
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: they will treat you for in your sixties, And what
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: they're treating you for in your sixties, they will bear
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: you for in your seventies. Folks, we got to start
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: thinking about what we eat a little bit better. I
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: can't be no vegan. I can't eat just no vegetables. Look, man,
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: I'm not promoting being a vegan because I've done it
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: this year. I'm not promoting, you know, one diet over
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: the next. But I know if you eat food with
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: preservatives in it, you're in trouble. Because when you chew
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: a food that has a preservative in it, it doesn't
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: stop having the preservatives in it. So if they got
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: preservatives in it and you eat it, guess where they're
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: preserving itself at in your body? That's crazy. And then
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: your liver doesn't know how to process this foreign object,
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: so it pushes it aside to a fat seale. Hold up, man,
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: are you kidding me? I got a partner man that's
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: in a nursing home in Cleveland, and I just got
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: the news that he was in a nursing home. We're
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: the same age, We're the same age. He's sixty two
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: here in a nursing home. My boy just told me
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: he weighed four hundred and fifty pounds. I said, what
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: he weighed four hundred and fifty pounds? You know what
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: the doctor told me? Then the doctor said, do you
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: know any three hundred and fifty pounds seventy year olds?
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: I don't. And if you know one, guess what, y'all
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: bet you just know one. So why would you take
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: the chance on trying to be that one? Man? We
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: got to do better with our nutrition, y'all. We got
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: to start doing better, man. There's books out there, there's things,
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: that's programs you can get on. Man. We got to
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: start doing better, y'all. Well, we're gonna leave here earlier
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: than we have to. You are what you eat. We
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: have to eat. Benn, y'all, just have a great weekend
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: and quitting this crazy. For all Steve Harvey contests No
