- 0:00Speaker 1: Somebody said, would we would we think about taking the
- 0:03Speaker 1: World Cup away from Boston. You know, FIFA is very hot.
- 0:06Speaker 1: If we think there's any reason that whether it's Buston
- 0:09Speaker 1: or anywhere else, that they're not doing the job, we're
- 0:11Speaker 1: going to take those World Cup games and move them someplace.
- 0:15Speaker 2: If you're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with
- 0:17Speaker 2: Ben ferguson.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Good Thursday morning, nice to have you with us on
- 0:21Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update, and.
- 0:22Speaker 4: We've got two big stories for you.
- 0:24Speaker 3: First up, the drug cartels are now putting bounties on
- 0:27Speaker 3: the heads of American law enforcement. And the higher ranking
- 0:31Speaker 3: you are, the more money they're willing to pay for
- 0:34Speaker 3: you to be dead.
- 0:36Speaker 4: So what will happen next.
- 0:38Speaker 3: We'll have the details on America's response to it in
- 0:41Speaker 3: just a moment. Also, the President United States America Dell Trump,
- 0:45Speaker 3: not wasting any time going after the cartels, taking out
- 0:49Speaker 3: more boats in international water that are filled with drugs,
- 0:52Speaker 3: and now talking about going after targets that are on land.
- 0:56Speaker 3: But first, did you see that gold just hit an
- 0:59Speaker 3: all time new high of over four thousand dollars an
- 1:03Speaker 3: ounce And if you hear that, you're like, are you
- 1:06Speaker 3: kidding me, and you're thinking, gosh, I missed my opportunity. Well,
- 1:10Speaker 3: I don't know if you missed your opportunity, but my
- 1:12Speaker 3: friends at Kurt Elliott Precious Medals they can answer that
- 1:15Speaker 3: question for you.
- 1:17Speaker 4: You also may not.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Be paying attention to the incredible gains with silver that
- 1:21Speaker 3: are happening right now as well, And that's why I
- 1:24Speaker 3: trust the guidance of the team at kirk Elliott. In fact,
- 1:28Speaker 3: I literally just got a hundred ounce bar of silver
- 1:32Speaker 3: the other day. And the reason why is because after
- 1:35Speaker 3: I talk to the team at kirk Elliott Precious Medals,
- 1:38Speaker 3: they let me understand exactly where I could have a
- 1:41Speaker 3: big upside in investing in silver. Now, the other part
- 1:44Speaker 3: that I love about them is this they have transparent pricing.
- 1:49Speaker 3: There are a lot of gold companies that you'll hear
- 1:51Speaker 3: about if you listen to talk radio or podcasts or
- 1:54Speaker 3: watch TV, but do they tell you how the pricing
- 1:57Speaker 3: actually works well. At kirk Elliott, they're real simple, just
- 2:02Speaker 3: eight percent when you buy and zero commissions when you sell,
- 2:07Speaker 3: with no hidden fees. Ever, that is the other reason
- 2:10Speaker 3: why I recommend them to all of you. They also
- 2:13Speaker 3: don't sell you quote rare coins or precious coins that
- 2:16Speaker 3: you pay insane markups on and then when you go
- 2:19Speaker 3: to sell them you find out they're really not worth
- 2:22Speaker 3: that much. They are a bullyon only approach. They focus
- 2:26Speaker 3: on investment grade metals, no overpriced collectibles, no gimmicks. That
- 2:32Speaker 3: means you get more gold or silver for your money
- 2:35Speaker 3: at fair value when it's time for you to sell.
- 2:38Speaker 3: So if you're ready to find out if gold and
- 2:41Speaker 3: silver is right for you in your portfolio, then call
- 2:45Speaker 3: them and get a plan. You can visit them at

- 3:12Speaker 3: It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 3:17Speaker 3: The Department of Homeland Security is now saying there is
- 3:20Speaker 3: credible intelligence the Mexican cartels have disseminated a bounty program.
- 3:28Speaker 3: A bounty program incentivizing attacks on US federal immigration officers,
- 3:36Speaker 3: media briefing subscribe payouts starting at around two thousand dollars
- 3:40Speaker 3: for doxing or surveillance, and rising to as much as
- 3:45Speaker 3: fifty thousand dollars for assassinations of senior officials. The Department
- 3:51Speaker 3: of Home in Security publicly condemning a surge in doxing
- 3:54Speaker 3: and threats against ICE personnel and their families, and says
- 3:59Speaker 3: it's coordinating with federal, state, and local partners to counter
- 4:03Speaker 3: the threat. The Department of Homeland Security also announced the
- 4:07Speaker 3: arrest in Illinois of a Latin King gang member accused
- 4:11Speaker 3: of placing a hit on a senior US Border Patrol official.
- 4:16Speaker 3: The Department of holyan security highlight the case is part
- 4:18Speaker 3: of an escalating threat and the environment tied to the
- 4:22Speaker 3: cartel line actors in the US. While the case involves
- 4:26Speaker 3: border patrol, the Department of Home in Security we now
- 4:30Speaker 3: know that this is a national security risk. Chicago, by
- 4:34Speaker 3: the way, has been a focal point in recent coverage,
- 4:37Speaker 3: with local outlets there reporting on federal briefings that cartels
- 4:41Speaker 3: are working through the local gangs and offering the local
- 4:46Speaker 3: gangs cash bounties scaled to the agent's rank and the
- 4:52Speaker 3: level of harm done. This coming from Fox thirty two
- 4:56Speaker 3: in Chicago. So how does the bounty system well work.
- 5:00Speaker 3: It is a tiered system, very much like what they
- 5:04Speaker 3: use in Mexico, a tiered incentive system for information gathering
- 5:10Speaker 3: and doxing. There is also incentives for non lethal assaults.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Kidnapping attempts get you more money, and lethal attacks get
- 5:18Speaker 3: you paid big time, the payouts increasing as the chain
- 5:23Speaker 3: gets bigger and bigger. The specifics coming from the Department
- 5:27Speaker 3: of Holy in Security briefing and the Department of Holy
- 5:29Speaker 3: in Security's own public statements emphasizing credible intelligence and a
- 5:34Speaker 3: major spike in the threats and the doxing of our
- 5:38Speaker 3: men and women in law enforcement. The tactics noted in
- 5:42Speaker 3: coverage include doxing of the agents, surveilling the agents and
- 5:46Speaker 3: their families, and attempts to ambush personnel, with the Department
- 5:51Speaker 3: of Holy in Security warning of a hostile operating environment
- 5:54Speaker 3: for ice and Customs and Border patrol in certain cities.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Now there also going into what is being described as
- 6:02Speaker 3: a protective posture and coordination. The Department of Homeland Security
- 6:06Speaker 3: says it's working with the DOJ and local partners and
- 6:10Speaker 3: is urging prompt reporting of threats. It has publicly condemned
- 6:14Speaker 3: the docsing targeting of agents and families, and operational security
- 6:18Speaker 3: steps are understandably not detailed publicly, But the bottom line
- 6:22Speaker 3: is this we now know and multiple outlets are reporting
- 6:27Speaker 3: that a cartel linked tiered bounty system targeting ICE and
- 6:32Speaker 3: CBP officials, with the amounts reported up to fifty thousand
- 6:36Speaker 3: dollars for killing of high ranking officials is already in
- 6:40Speaker 3: the marketplace. The Department has confirmed a credible threat environment
- 6:44Speaker 3: and highlight at least one arrest tied to the solicitation
- 6:48Speaker 3: to murder of a border patrol not just agent, but
- 6:51Speaker 3: a border patrol leader. Expected heightened security measures and ongoing
- 6:56Speaker 3: door investigations will be part of this. Here's more about
- 7:00Speaker 3: what the Department of Homeland Security said and how Fox
- 7:03Speaker 3: reported it.
- 7:04Speaker 5: Twenty General pambam And says Facebook has removed the pays
- 7:07Speaker 5: that was being used to target ICE agents in Chicago.
- 7:11Speaker 5: The move comes as the DHS reveals cartels have issued
- 7:14Speaker 5: bounties or hits on offices. Griff Jenkins joins US from
- 7:18Speaker 5: Washington with the latest on this story.
- 7:20Speaker 6: Griff, what do you know, Well, good morning, Lawrence. I
- 7:23Speaker 6: know the threat to ICE and federal immigration law enforcement
- 7:26Speaker 6: has never been higher. DHS says there's now this tiered
- 7:29Speaker 6: bounty system set up by Mexican cartels. Take a look.
- 7:33Speaker 6: They're offering two thousand for gathering intelligence or dotsing immigration agents,
- 7:37Speaker 6: five to ten grand for kidnapping of standard ICE officers,
- 7:42Speaker 6: and up to fifty thousand dollars for the assassination of
- 7:45Speaker 6: a high ranking officer. This after an alleged Latin Kings
- 7:49Speaker 6: gang member is accused of putting a bounty on Border
- 7:51Speaker 6: Patrol's Commander at Large, Greg Bovino two thousand on info
- 7:55Speaker 6: on him ten thousand if you can quote take him
- 7:58Speaker 6: down now. The gang members attorney denies any ties to
- 8:01Speaker 6: the Latin Kings and paints the man as a quote
- 8:04Speaker 6: hard working family man, but Chief Bavino refused that claim
- 8:08Speaker 6: and says things are actually getting worse.
- 8:10Speaker 7: Riff The Latin Kings are associated with drug cartels to
- 8:14Speaker 7: i terrorist organizations, so those bounties remain and in fact
- 8:18Speaker 7: have actually increased because of this quote hard working man.
- 8:24Speaker 7: It's unbelievable.
- 8:27Speaker 6: Meanwhile, in the wake of anti ICE riots in places
- 8:30Speaker 6: like Chicago and Portland, A G. Bondi announcing Facebook has
- 8:33Speaker 6: removed an ICE spotting group targeting officers. She writes on
- 8:38Speaker 6: X The wave of violence against ICE has been driven
- 8:40Speaker 6: by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put
- 8:44Speaker 6: ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The
- 8:47Speaker 6: Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate
- 8:50Speaker 6: platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement. Now,
- 8:56Speaker 6: as spokesperson for Facebook's parent company, Meta says, quote, this
- 9:00Speaker 6: group was removed for violating our policies against coordinated harm.
- 9:05Speaker 6: All of this, Lawrence comes Has says, you know, ICE
- 9:08Speaker 6: continues to face a more than one thousand percent increase
- 9:11Speaker 6: in assaults.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Now, we've also learned more about what's happening in Chicago.
- 9:16Speaker 3: For example, Harris Faulkner, I was actually in New York
- 9:20Speaker 3: City with her on her show today and this is
- 9:22Speaker 3: what I learned listening.
- 9:25Speaker 8: Boxer's alert. Now, federal agents under siege. Immigration and Custom
- 9:29Speaker 8: Enforcement teams are facing a new threat dished out by
- 9:32Speaker 8: the drug cartels. First it was violent protesters rioting and
- 9:36Speaker 8: attacking ICE agents on the streets. Now Homeland Security Department
- 9:40Speaker 8: has announced Mexican cartels have put out bounties on agents
- 9:44Speaker 8: in Chicago. DHS says those cartels are working with gangs.
- 9:48Speaker 8: And extremist groups to deploy armed spotters to rooftops to
- 9:53Speaker 8: track agent's movements. I'm Harris Faulkner. You are in the
- 9:56Speaker 8: Faulkner Focus. DHS also revealed a tiered bounty system that
- 10:01Speaker 8: cartels are using to incentivize violence. Now all of this,
- 10:05Speaker 8: according to the DHS, here's the price. Cartels are putting
- 10:08Speaker 8: out two thousand dollars to get information on ICE agents
- 10:13Speaker 8: or to dos them, five to ten thousand dollars to
- 10:16Speaker 8: kidnap or hurt the agents, up to fifty thousand dollars
- 10:20Speaker 8: to assassinate senior officials. Meanwhile, the rioting heating up again.
- 10:25Speaker 8: ICE and Border patrol were forced to use teargas to
- 10:28Speaker 8: protect themselves from a large group of rioters in Chicago yesterday.
- 10:33Speaker 8: Chicago Police Department confirming those rioters were throwing objects at
- 10:37Speaker 8: the ICE agents, a serious federal crime. Still, Illinois Democrats
- 10:41Speaker 8: are going after the ICE agents, maybe even fueling some
- 10:46Speaker 8: of this violence we're seeing. One Democrat State senator posted
- 10:50Speaker 8: ICE's behavior was unacceptable and that people in that neighborhood
- 10:54Speaker 8: quote don't tolerate this kind of bs.
- 10:58Speaker 7: End of quote.
- 10:59Speaker 4: So there you have it.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Democrats continuing to advocate for the assault, the doxing, the
- 11:04Speaker 3: attacking of ICE agents.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Now they're literally aligned with the cartels in Mexico now
- 11:10Speaker 4: story number two.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Donald Trump, after the doxing of ICE agents, is obviously
- 11:16Speaker 3: not going to sit around and allow the cartels to
- 11:18Speaker 3: put bounties on our men and women in uniform, our
- 11:21Speaker 3: men and women protecting our border, our law enforcement officers,
- 11:25Speaker 3: and think they can just get away with it, as
- 11:27Speaker 3: they're now going to war with us. What is President
- 11:30Speaker 3: Trump doing now, Well, he's next looking quote at land
- 11:34Speaker 3: in Latin America, after the US military has conducted at
- 11:38Speaker 3: least five fatal strikes against alleged drug boats in the
- 11:42Speaker 3: Caribbean since September alone. Quote, we are certainly looking at
- 11:48Speaker 3: land now because we've got to see very well under control,
- 11:52Speaker 3: Trump told reporters on Wednesday. We've had a couple of
- 11:55Speaker 3: days where there isn't a boat to be found, and
- 11:58Speaker 3: I view that as a good thing, not a bad thing.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Trump said he wasn't interested in having the Coastguard simply
- 12:04Speaker 3: stop the elected drug boats because quote, we've been doing
- 12:08Speaker 3: that for thirty years and it has been totally ineffective.
- 12:13Speaker 3: They referring to the cartels have faster boats. Some of
- 12:16Speaker 3: these boats are seriously, I mean, they're world class speedboats,
- 12:20Speaker 3: Trump said. But they're not faster than missiles. But we've
- 12:24Speaker 3: been trying to do that for years. The White House
- 12:27Speaker 3: has not responded to requests for comment about what this
- 12:31Speaker 3: means and details of the nature of a land operation
- 12:35Speaker 3: that Trump is considering. Additionally, Trump confirmed that he has also,
- 12:40Speaker 3: and this is big news, authorized the CIA to conduct
- 12:45Speaker 3: covert operations in Venezuela, after The New York Times reported
- 12:50Speaker 3: on Wednesday that he had a proved the order. According
- 12:54Speaker 3: to Trump, he did so because Venezuela has released prisoners
- 12:58Speaker 3: into the US and that drugs were coming into the
- 13:02Speaker 3: US from Venezuela via maritime channels. Trump declined to answer though,
- 13:06Speaker 3: when asked if the CIA had the authority to quote
- 13:09Speaker 3: unquote take out the Venezuelan president Maduro, he's nothing more
- 13:14Speaker 3: than a drug kingpin in that country. The Trump administration
- 13:18Speaker 3: has said it does not recognize Maduro as a legitimate
- 13:22Speaker 3: head of state, but a leader of a drug cartel.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Quote.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I don't want to answer a question like that, Trump said,
- 13:29Speaker 3: that's a ridiculous question for me to be given. Not
- 13:32Speaker 3: really a ridiculous question. But wouldn't it be a ridiculous
- 13:35Speaker 3: question for me to answer? But I think Venezuela is
- 13:38Speaker 3: feeling heat now. The Trump administration has adopted a hard
- 13:42Speaker 3: line approach to address the flow of drugs into the
- 13:45Speaker 3: US and designated drug cartel groups like the Trende, Ragua, Sineloa,
- 13:50Speaker 3: and other cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, doing this back
- 13:55Speaker 3: in February. Additionally, the White House sent lawmaker a memo
- 14:01Speaker 3: as well September thirtieth dated, informing them that the US
- 14:06Speaker 3: is now participating in a non international armed conflict with
- 14:12Speaker 3: drug smugglers. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have
- 14:16Speaker 3: also voiced quote concerns over the legality of the strikes.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Senator Adam Shift, a Democrat who's never met a drug
- 14:23Speaker 3: dealer he didn't like, and Tim Kaine, the Democrat from Virginia,
- 14:27Speaker 3: have filed a war powers resolution to bar US forces
- 14:31Speaker 3: from engaging in hostilities against certain non state organizations, again
- 14:37Speaker 3: defending the drug cartels that are killing Americans. The resolution
- 14:42Speaker 3: failed in the Senate by a fifty one to forty
- 14:44Speaker 3: eight margin. October eighth, Republican Ran Paul of Kentucky and
- 14:49Speaker 3: Lisa Murkowski Alaska voted alongside their Democratic counterparts in the resolution.
- 14:55Speaker 3: When asked about lawmakers' concerns about the legality of the strikes,
- 15:00Speaker 3: Trump dismissed them and said that lawmakers were informed the
- 15:03Speaker 3: vessels carried drugs. Quote, but they are given information that
- 15:08Speaker 3: they were loaded up with drugs, and that's the thing
- 15:12Speaker 3: that matters. The President said, when they're loaded up with drugs,
- 15:15Speaker 3: their fair game. And every one of those ships were
- 15:19Speaker 3: and they're not ships, their boats that were loaded up
- 15:22Speaker 3: with drugs. So the President United States of America making
- 15:26Speaker 3: it very clear he's not going to sit around and
- 15:29Speaker 3: wait for more Americans to be killed by accidental overdoses
- 15:33Speaker 3: from fetnel. He's not going to wait around while cartels
- 15:37Speaker 3: are putting bounties on our American law enforcement heads. He's
- 15:42Speaker 3: going to war with these cartels because he has designated
- 15:45Speaker 3: them as terrorists organizations. And this is exactly what so
- 15:50Speaker 3: many conservatives voted for in the last presidential election.
