- 0:01Speaker 1: The term that I use now to describe the Democrats
- 0:04Speaker 1: and these Marxists and Islamis is authoritarian Democrats. Other words,
- 0:08Speaker 1: they'll go through the voting process as long as they win,
- 0:11Speaker 1: but if they don't win, they'll try and sabotage a
- 0:14Speaker 1: Trump or Republicans. They don't really care about the electorate
- 0:16Speaker 1: except if it gives them power. They don't really care
- 0:19Speaker 1: about the well being of the average person unless they
- 0:21Speaker 1: can persuade them to support them.
- 0:23Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Good Thursday morning. It's nice to have you with us
- 0:29Speaker 3: on the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got a
- 0:31Speaker 3: couple of major stories for you this morning. This one
- 0:35Speaker 3: is a story I hope I never have to talk
- 0:38Speaker 3: about again, but it needs to be on your radar screen.
- 0:41Speaker 3: The CDC has now issued a travel warning over a
- 0:46Speaker 3: viral outbreak in China that is spread by mosquito bites.
- 0:51Speaker 3: It is very eerie how close it is to the
- 0:54Speaker 3: initial warnings we got with COVID nineteen. I'll have that
- 0:58Speaker 3: story for you in just a moment. Also, it is
- 1:01Speaker 3: ratcheting up in Texas as Democrats refuse to come back
- 1:05Speaker 3: to work now. It's involving the state Supreme Court, the governor,
- 1:10Speaker 3: and the governor of Illinois. I also talk with Mark Levin,
- 1:14Speaker 3: the Great One, about his new book on power and
- 1:18Speaker 3: how it relates to everything that's going on in Texas.
- 1:22Speaker 3: But first I got to ask you a question. Are
- 1:24Speaker 3: you one of those that is just so tired of
- 1:26Speaker 3: giving your money to radical left woke companies that actually
- 1:30Speaker 3: are fighting against your values every day? Well, there are
- 1:33Speaker 3: certain bills that you pay every month that if you
- 1:37Speaker 3: can go with a conservative company, why not do it?
- 1:40Speaker 3: In fact, why not go with a conservative company that
- 1:42Speaker 3: actually takes part of your bill every month that you're
- 1:45Speaker 3: going to pay to somebody, and they give it back
- 1:47Speaker 3: to organizations that support your First and your Second Amendment rights,
- 1:51Speaker 3: that support the rights of unborn children, that stand with
- 1:55Speaker 3: our military, are first responders, and so many wounded warriors
- 2:00Speaker 3: that need help. Well, that bill I'm talking about is
- 2:04Speaker 3: your cell phone bill. And I've been telling you for
- 2:07Speaker 3: a long time about Patriot Mobile. But there's no better
- 2:10Speaker 3: time to switch than right now. Not only does Patriot
- 2:13Speaker 3: Mobile operate on all three major networks in this country, yeah,
- 2:17Speaker 3: all three. That means you get the same great coverage
- 2:19Speaker 3: you're used to right now, but you also make a
- 2:22Speaker 3: difference with every call you make and every text you make.
- 2:25Speaker 3: And why would you want to give your money a
- 2:26Speaker 3: big mobile? Big Mobile has been giving big donations to
- 2:30Speaker 3: democratic causes, democratic candidates, and radical left organizations. I'm talking
- 2:35Speaker 3: about organizations that actually support abortion. That is why I
- 2:41Speaker 3: want you to switch right now to Patriot Mobile. Go
- 2:45Speaker 3: ahead and make the switch, and it's so easy. All
- 2:48Speaker 3: you have to do is simply call Patriot Mobiles one
- 2:51Speaker 3: hundred percent US based team from the comfort of your
- 2:54Speaker 3: home or your office and they'll have you activated in minutes.
- 2:57Speaker 3: And if you're still locked in a contract problem, Patriots
- 3:01Speaker 3: Mobile contract buyout program covers up to five hundred dollars
- 3:04Speaker 3: per device. Keep your same number, keep your phone, or
- 3:07Speaker 3: upgrade do a new one. So back to my point,
- 3:10Speaker 3: what are you waiting for? Call Patriot Mobile today and
- 3:13Speaker 3: make a difference every single day with every call you make.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Patriot Mobile dot com slash ferguson. That's Patriot Mobile dot
- 3:22Speaker 3: com slash ferguson or nine seven to two Patriot And
- 3:26Speaker 3: if you use the promo code ferguson, you're gonna get
- 3:29Speaker 3: a free month of service on top of that Patriot
- 3:32Speaker 3: Mobile dot com slash ferguson or nine seven two Patriot.
- 3:36Speaker 3: That's Patriot Mobile dot com slash ferguson or ninety seven
- 3:39Speaker 3: to two Patriot. It's the forty seven Morning Update and
- 3:42Speaker 3: it starts right now.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 3:45Speaker 3: There is a major story that needs to be on
- 3:48Speaker 3: your radar, and it's one that concerns now China yet again,
- 3:52Speaker 3: and the CDC issuing a travel warning over a viral
- 3:57Speaker 3: outbreak in China that is spread by mosquito bites. The
- 4:01Speaker 3: US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issuing a Level
- 4:06Speaker 3: two travel notice. This is much like what we witness
- 4:10Speaker 3: with the coronavirus for a province in China due to
- 4:14Speaker 3: a quote major outbreak, the agency is recommending travelers practice
- 4:19Speaker 3: enhance precautions. As of August to six, if you believe
- 4:23Speaker 3: the numbers coming out of China, over seven thousand confirmed
- 4:28Speaker 3: cases of chikungunya have been reported, with the outbreak spreading
- 4:33Speaker 3: to Hong Kong and other provinces. Now, what is this disease? Well,
- 4:38Speaker 3: symptoms typically appear, they say three to seven days after
- 4:42Speaker 3: a mosquito bite, and while most recover within a week.
- 4:45Speaker 3: There are major problems that can happen because of this
- 4:49Speaker 3: mosquito born viral disease characterize as being major issues with fever,
- 4:55Speaker 3: severe joint pain, severe headaches, muscle aches, joint swelling, and
- 5:01Speaker 3: a rash. There is also a concern over death. Even
- 5:05Speaker 3: though it's being categorized as rare infants, they're very concerned
- 5:08Speaker 3: about older adults and people with certain health conditions will
- 5:12Speaker 3: also face high risk of severe symptoms and possibly death.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yet again, another concern of the similarities we're talking about
- 5:21Speaker 3: here because of what happened last time when it came
- 5:24Speaker 3: out of China. Now in twenty twenty five, this strand
- 5:27Speaker 3: has affected approximately two hundred and forty thousand people across
- 5:31Speaker 3: sixteen countries, resulting, they say, in around ninety deaths. Chinese
- 5:36Speaker 3: authorities have mobilized intense containment strategies, including drones to locate
- 5:41Speaker 3: standing water, insecticide spraying, even targeting individuals before entering buildings,
- 5:48Speaker 3: deployment of mosquito eating fish, fines or penalties for stagnant
- 5:52Speaker 3: water accumulation, and hospital isolation under mosquito netting. Here is
- 5:57Speaker 3: more from Fox News Channel about the seat putting out
- 6:01Speaker 3: the warning for Americans.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Tonight, a viral outbreak in China prompts the Centers for
- 6:06Speaker 4: Disease Control and Prevention the CDC to issue a travel warning.
- 6:10Speaker 4: More than seven thousand cases of this disease have been
- 6:14Speaker 4: reported so far. State Department correspondent Jillian Turner has details
- 6:17Speaker 4: tonight from the State Department.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Even Jillian Good Evening Brett. The CDC, as you mentioned,
- 6:21Speaker 5: is warning Americans traveling to China about chikungunya. It is
- 6:25Speaker 5: a virus that spreads to humans through infected mosquito bites.
- 6:29Speaker 5: It can cause severe illness, with symptoms that mimic pretty
- 6:33Speaker 5: closely dangay fever and zecavirus, mostly found in Africa. Here's
- 6:37Speaker 5: what the CDC says about it. They say most people
- 6:40Speaker 5: in fact to get better within a week. However, some
- 6:42Speaker 5: can have severe joint pain for months two years. Other
- 6:45Speaker 5: symptoms include severe fever and fatigue. The outbreak now is
- 6:49Speaker 5: in the Chinese province goang Dong. It's near Hong Kong,
- 6:52Speaker 5: with more than seven thousand cases reported so far, prompting
- 6:55Speaker 5: some pretty dramatic measures to contain the spread, like mandatory
- 7:00Speaker 5: insect repellent blasts for people entering the area. Mandatory property
- 7:04Speaker 5: checks for stagnant water, which attracts mosquitos and when found
- 7:08Speaker 5: is now punishable by fines or even arrests.
- 7:10Speaker 6: If you happen to get this, they're quarantining you in
- 7:13Speaker 6: hospitals with mosquito netting and not letting you out for
- 7:16Speaker 6: a week. These are the kind of draconian responses we
- 7:20Speaker 6: saw with COVID. We're seeing it again.
- 7:22Speaker 5: The CDC says Americans traveling to eight other countries are
- 7:26Speaker 5: also at elevated risk of exposure to the virus, even
- 7:30Speaker 5: if there is no current outbreak there. People at risk
- 7:33Speaker 5: for more severe cases of chicungunya include newborns, seniors sixty
- 7:38Speaker 5: five years and up, as well as people with diabetes
- 7:41Speaker 5: or heart disease. Now, the good news is that, unlike COVID,
- 7:45Speaker 5: deaths from this disease are exceedingly rare. You can also
- 7:48Speaker 5: protect yourself by getting vaccinated against it, or by preventing
- 7:52Speaker 5: mosquito bites in the first place through all the usual
- 7:55Speaker 5: mechanisms insect repellent netting, wearing long sleeves, and staying in
- 7:59Speaker 5: air condition.
- 8:00Speaker 3: You listen to this warning and there's a couple of
- 8:02Speaker 3: points here that need to be made clear Number one,
- 8:05Speaker 3: there's no specific treatment for this, so management focuses on
- 8:09Speaker 3: symptom relief, rest, hydration, over the counterpane relief, and vaccines,
- 8:14Speaker 3: as they mentioned, are available in the US and recommended
- 8:17Speaker 3: for travelers that are going to the outbreak regions. But
- 8:20Speaker 3: then the question also comes up, and this is why
- 8:23Speaker 3: I want it on your radar screen. Why are they
- 8:26Speaker 3: treating this in China very much the same way they
- 8:29Speaker 3: treated COVID And are they telling us the truth now?
- 8:33Speaker 3: They're saying to minimize the risk of exposure, the CDC
- 8:36Speaker 3: advises the use of insect repellent, wearing long sleeved shirts
- 8:39Speaker 3: and long pants, staying in screened or air conditioned accommodation.
- 8:44Speaker 3: They also have a warning for pregnant travelers, especially near delivery.
- 8:48Speaker 3: They're encouraged now to quote reconsidered travel as infection neer
- 8:52Speaker 3: childbirth can pass to newborns. Vaccination should be discussed with
- 8:55Speaker 3: the healthcare provider. The CDC is also saying, so this
- 8:59Speaker 3: is a story that I hope I don't have to
- 9:01Speaker 3: talk about again with you, But when you're dealing with
- 9:03Speaker 3: China and what they're doing right now, you have to wonder,
- 9:07Speaker 3: what are.
- 9:07Speaker 2: They hiding Now story number two.
- 9:10Speaker 3: I want to move on to another major story, and
- 9:12Speaker 3: it deals with what's happening in Texas. The Governor of Texas,
- 9:16Speaker 3: Greg Abbott, has now filed a lawsuit to start the
- 9:20Speaker 3: removal for dereliction of duty, derelict Democrats and saying you're
- 9:25Speaker 3: not showing up for work. You fled the state to
- 9:28Speaker 3: block redistricting bill, and now we're going to hold you
- 9:31Speaker 3: accountable for exactly that. Governor Abbott filing the lawsuit Tuesday
- 9:35Speaker 3: night with the Texas Supreme Court seeking to begin the
- 9:38Speaker 3: process for the removal of House Democratic Caucus Chairman Wu
- 9:42Speaker 3: and others. The chairman, along with most of his Democrat
- 9:46Speaker 3: House colleagues, fled the state to block acorum in protest
- 9:50Speaker 3: to the GOP's efforts to carry out their duty of
- 9:53Speaker 3: congressional seat redistricting. Today I took emergency action, the governor said,
- 9:59Speaker 3: to begin the removal from office of derelic Democrat Texas
- 10:03Speaker 3: House members he refuses show up for special session. Governor
- 10:07Speaker 3: Abbot writing this, saying quote, I filed the suit directly
- 10:11Speaker 3: with the Texas Supreme Court too quickly make clear the
- 10:14Speaker 3: authority I have to bring the lawsuit for removal of
- 10:17Speaker 3: legislators from their office now. On Sunday, Abbot ordered the
- 10:22Speaker 3: House Democrats who fled the state to break quorum to
- 10:25Speaker 3: return to work, or he would take action to vacate
- 10:27Speaker 3: their legislative seats and appoint replacements. This truancy ends now,
- 10:32Speaker 3: Governor Abbot said in a Sunday night statement. The derelic
- 10:35Speaker 3: Democratic House members must return to Texas and be in
- 10:39Speaker 3: attendance when the House reconvens at three pm on Monday,
- 10:42Speaker 3: August fourth. The Governor said he will invoke the Texas
- 10:45Speaker 3: Attorney general opinion to remove the absent Democrats from their
- 10:48Speaker 3: elected office. The governor stated, quote In that opinion, the
- 10:52Speaker 3: Attorney General considered whether Texas law allows for a determination
- 10:57Speaker 3: that a legislator has vacated office if they intentionally break quorum.
- 11:03Speaker 3: The Attorney General concluded that whether a specific legislator abandoned
- 11:07Speaker 3: his or her office such that a vacancy occurred will
- 11:12Speaker 3: be a fact question for a court quote unquote. Sunday afternoon,
- 11:17Speaker 3: Texas House Democrats fled the state to Illinois to stop
- 11:20Speaker 3: the state legislature from moving forward on plans to redistrict
- 11:25Speaker 3: Texas congressional districts. Democratic Caucus Chairman wo a Democrat from Houston,
- 11:30Speaker 3: said the governor is using an intentionally racist map to
- 11:34Speaker 3: steal the voices of millions of black and Latino Texans,
- 11:37Speaker 3: all to execute a corrupt political deal. The derelict Texas
- 11:41Speaker 3: House members ignored the governor's order and did not return
- 11:45Speaker 3: to the capital insert Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed
- 11:49Speaker 3: a notice with the Texas Supreme Court in support of
- 11:52Speaker 3: the governor's lawsuit, saying this Texas is taking every available
- 11:57Speaker 3: avenue to force runaway Democrats to return to Texas and
- 12:02Speaker 3: hold them accountable for breaking quorum. That's what the Attorney
- 12:04Speaker 3: General Ken Paxon said in the statement, saying, quote, under
- 12:08Speaker 3: the Texas Constitution in Texas law, the Office of the
- 12:11Speaker 3: Attorney General has the legal authority to bring these cases
- 12:14Speaker 3: against the renegade House members. I have alerted the Texas
- 12:18Speaker 3: Supreme Court that I will be making additional filings on
- 12:22Speaker 3: Friday if the Democrats continued to abandon their legislative duties.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Abbott also wrote a letter to the Texas Supreme Court
- 12:30Speaker 3: about his action of filing directly with the state's top
- 12:33Speaker 3: course bypassing the district and Appellate Court. System, the governor
- 12:37Speaker 3: side section twenty two of the Texas Constitution and court
- 12:40Speaker 3: precedent for those actions. And that's where we go to.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Late Tuesday night, the Supreme Court requests the response from
- 12:47Speaker 3: the respondent, Chairman Wu, the Democrat no later than Friday,
- 12:51Speaker 3: August eighth, at five pm. The case number for the
- 12:54Speaker 3: emergency petition is twenty five dash zero six seven four. Translation.
- 13:01Speaker 3: It's getting very real now for Democrats that there is
- 13:04Speaker 3: a chance if they do not come back to Texas,
- 13:07Speaker 3: they can lose their jobs. Texas Tribune reporter, by the way,
- 13:12Speaker 3: posting comments from Chairman Wu in response to the governor's
- 13:15Speaker 3: latest action to remove him and fellow Democratic legislators, saying, quote,
- 13:20Speaker 3: I took an oath to the Constitution, not a politician's agenda.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Denying the governor at quorum was not an abandonment in
- 13:26Speaker 3: my office. It was a fulfillment of my oath. That
- 13:30Speaker 3: is the latest from the Democrats. He said, I took
- 13:33Speaker 3: that oath to the constitution, not the political agenda, and
- 13:36Speaker 3: he's hoping the American people will go along with him.
- 13:38Speaker 3: One person, by the way, that definitely is going along
- 13:41Speaker 3: with him is the governor of Illinois. Trying to turn
- 13:44Speaker 3: this into his own political moment. JB. Pritzker firing back
- 13:49Speaker 3: at Trump's threat to arrest runaway Texas Democrats, saying, bring
- 13:53Speaker 3: it on. He's more than happy to fight Donald Trump.
- 13:56Speaker 3: And here's the governor, in his own words.
- 13:59Speaker 7: Is that, you know, our local law enforcement protect everybody
- 14:02Speaker 7: in Illinois. Our state troopers protect everybody in Illinois and
- 14:06Speaker 7: anybody who's here in Illinois. And so whether it's federal
- 14:10Speaker 7: agents coming to Illinois or state rangers from Texas, if
- 14:17Speaker 7: you haven't broken federal law, you know, you're basically unwelcome.
- 14:22Speaker 7: And there's no way that they can be that our
- 14:25Speaker 7: state legislators here, the Texas state legislators can be arrested.
- 14:29Speaker 3: So there's the governor of Illinois saying, Hey, I stand
- 14:32Speaker 3: up for illegal immigrants that are in my state and
- 14:35Speaker 3: protect them all the time. Why do not go ahead
- 14:37Speaker 3: and protect some hardcore liberal Democrats from Texas as well? Now,
- 14:42Speaker 3: Governor of Texas, Craig Abbott, he has a very simple
- 14:45Speaker 3: response to JD. Pritzker and anybody else that's criticizing him.
- 14:49Speaker 3: He says, it's all about doing your job, and that's
- 14:52Speaker 3: what the Democrats have abandoned.
- 14:54Speaker 8: So the Democrats when they return, they're going to be
- 14:57Speaker 8: accountable for certain legal biolaces, but so for violations of
- 15:01Speaker 8: Texas House rules, and so it's going to be a
- 15:03Speaker 8: bad day for them. And the sooner they get back,
- 15:06Speaker 8: maybe the lesser the consequences. But the longer they stay,
- 15:10Speaker 8: the greater the consequences.
- 15:11Speaker 3: The greater the consequences. So now here we are at
- 15:15Speaker 3: the Texas Supreme Court, and there's a very good chance
- 15:18Speaker 3: that the governors got this one right and Democrats may
- 15:22Speaker 3: lose their jobs over all of this, refusing to come
- 15:25Speaker 3: back to the state that they said they were representing
- 15:28Speaker 3: and instead hanging out in Chicago. I also sat down
- 15:32Speaker 3: and had a very interesting conversation with a dear friend
- 15:35Speaker 3: of mine, a mentor, Mark Levin. He has a new
- 15:39Speaker 3: book out called On Power, a book that I hope
- 15:42Speaker 3: all of you will buy, and I asked him about
- 15:44Speaker 3: what was happening in Texas and how his book relates
- 15:48Speaker 3: to what we're witnessing. I want you to take a
- 15:50Speaker 3: listen to what Mark Levin, the Great One, had to
- 15:53Speaker 3: say speaking of power. I want to get your take
- 15:56Speaker 3: on what Democrats have just decided to do in Texas
- 15:59Speaker 3: flee this. They have run to other states that are
- 16:03Speaker 3: basically advocating for socialism and communism and Marxism. You've got
- 16:06Speaker 3: the governor of Illinois saying, come on over, will, how's
- 16:09Speaker 3: you will love on you? YadA YadA, YadA, and they say,
- 16:13Speaker 3: this is what power now looks like to the left,
- 16:16Speaker 3: how dangerous is that?
- 16:18Speaker 1: Well, this jerry mandering is all you're talking about pretty much. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 1: it's very dangerous. But let's point out I have a
- 16:25Speaker 1: whole chapter on language, and they're proving the point in
- 16:27Speaker 1: the chapter and all lot of people read it themselves.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But take a look at this. The twenty twenty census
- 16:32Speaker 1: they quote unquote mathematical errors which resulted in Democrats having
- 16:36Speaker 1: five more seats than they should have had, and the
- 16:38Speaker 1: census admits it made a mistake. So let's start at
- 16:40Speaker 1: that baseline. Then you look at Massachusetts. They don't have
- 16:44Speaker 1: a single Republican member of the House of Representatives. Then
- 16:46Speaker 1: you look at Maryland. They have one Republican out of
- 16:49Speaker 1: eight in the state of Maryland. Then you look at
- 16:51Speaker 1: California fifty two seats, forty three Democrats and nine Republicans.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Then you look at Illinois, fourteen Democrats and three Republicans,
- 17:01Speaker 1: and I could go on and on and on. So
- 17:03Speaker 1: this party, the Democrat Party, it embraces Marxism, it embraces
- 17:08Speaker 1: the Islamis against the Israelis, it embraces propaganda of the
- 17:12Speaker 1: worst sort. Again, I discussed this in the chapter in
- 17:15Speaker 1: the book. And their purpose is what they corrupt the
- 17:17Speaker 1: public debate, so people don't even know what to debate.
- 17:21Speaker 1: They come up with slogans and repetition, which is a
- 17:24Speaker 1: big deal for them, like any other authoritarians do. So
- 17:27Speaker 1: people get in their minds that it's the Republicans. They
- 17:30Speaker 1: are trying to steal the midterm elections. They have a
- 17:32Speaker 1: media behind them, and so so many people who don't
- 17:35Speaker 1: focus on this day in and day out have no
- 17:37Speaker 1: idea what's actually going on except the drum beat that
- 17:41Speaker 1: they hear over and over and over again. So it
- 17:43Speaker 1: is very dangerous what these people are doing. But it
- 17:46Speaker 1: has to be countered. We can't just wring our hands
- 17:48Speaker 1: about it.
- 17:49Speaker 3: What was me?
- 17:50Speaker 6: What was me?
- 17:51Speaker 1: And the way we counter it is again we go
- 17:53Speaker 1: to the core of this book and rather than making
- 17:56Speaker 1: superficial arguments, we say they want to grab power. This
- 17:59Speaker 1: is why they want to go rabbit, and the book
- 18:00Speaker 1: explains why and how they do it and how to
- 18:02Speaker 1: respond to it.
- 18:03Speaker 3: I hope all of you, by the way, will grab
- 18:05Speaker 3: Marklevin's new book On Power, as explois the nature of power,
- 18:09Speaker 3: its historical uses, and its impact on liberty. The book
- 18:13Speaker 3: argues that while power can be used for oppression, it
- 18:17Speaker 3: is also essential for a thriving society when it's structured
- 18:20Speaker 3: with checks and balances. The laugh, by the way, has
- 18:23Speaker 3: bastardized power, and well, now we're witnessing it in real
- 18:27Speaker 3: time with the Democrats in Texas, and this is exactly
- 18:31Speaker 3: why I hope all of you will grab Marklevin's new
- 18:34Speaker 3: book on Power.
