- 0:00So yes, I'm pregnant. We are pregnant.
- 0:03We are due next spring. We are so excited.
- 0:07I kind of let it slip in a couple episodes almost
- 0:10accidentally, because to be honest, when I find out, when we
- 0:14find out, my husband and I, that we're pregnant, I'm the kind of
- 0:16person who just shares the information as soon as possible
- 0:20with whoever wants to hear because I'm so excited and my
- 0:24husband's so excited. And, you know, I do not know if
- 0:26it's a boy or a girl yet. We're going to find out probably
- 0:29in a few weeks. We are so excited.
- 0:31I truly believe every child is an incredible gift from God.
- 0:35This is a precious new soul. And my husband's one of eight.
- 0:38I'm one of eight. So I always would have dreamed
- 0:41of having a big family. Always thought that I'd love to
- 0:44have one. We're on to three now.
- 0:46We actually have one in heaven. So this is our fourth child and
- 0:50we are, yeah, 33 strong. So 3 is a good number, but I'd
- 0:54love to have more kids. We're having a new baby and I
- 0:56can't wait to use Every Life Diapers.
- 1:00Every Life Diaper Company is a new company we've talked about
- 1:03on the show before, but they are well constructed, ethically
- 1:07sourced, beautifully designed wipes and diapers for your
- 1:11little one, designed by and made by a very pro-life company.
- 1:15So Every Life is a pro-life diaper company that gives part
- 1:18of their revenues back into the pro-life movement.
- 1:21So what are you waiting for? Stop shopping whatever you're
- 1:24shopping and start shopping Every Life Diapers.
- 1:27You can also order a subscription or order diapers
- 1:29and wipes for your friend, for your sister, for your niece,
- 1:31whatever. Go to everylife.com and use the
- 1:35code Lila 10 at checkout for 10% off your order.
- 1:38So when we found out we were pregnant, we told our two boys.
- 1:41So we have two little guys, one is 3 1/2 years old, one is 22
- 1:45months, and our 3 1/2 year old is very excited.
- 1:49So he is super pumped. He was excited when our second
- 1:54was born. He's like the Big Brother, so he
- 1:56takes care of his little brother.
- 1:57Yes, they fight and squabble, but he is the consummate Big
- 2:00Brother. He's the eldest child.
- 2:02He's got the responsibility thing in and he was really
- 2:05excited that there's a third coming and he thinks it's a
- 2:08girl. He's definitely gunning her
- 2:09sister because we have two boys. My other son, our other son, our
- 2:1422 month old at first expressed the confusion and shock.
- 2:18When we tried to explain there's a new baby coming.
- 2:22We said, you know, do you want a baby sister or baby brother?
- 2:26And the 22 month old just said no at first.
- 2:29So we had a little bit of a frosty reception with the
- 2:32youngest. After a little while, he warmed
- 2:34up and now he'll say things like, you know, do you want a
- 2:37baby brother, baby sister? And he'll say I'm baby.
- 2:40So he's not fully bought in. He still is asserting himself as
- 2:43the baby. He needs Big Brother training,
- 2:45which he will get in due time. But he is warming up.
- 2:48He does point sometimes to my stomach and he says, OK, baby.
- 2:51And so I think it's, it's kind of dawning on him that there's a
- 2:54whole new world awaiting him. But it's just been, I mean,
- 2:58we've been married almost five years and you know, a lot of you
- 3:01on the podcast have been kind of following the journey of even me
- 3:03dating, getting married, having my first, having my second,
- 3:06having our miscarriage. Now we're pregnant with our
- 3:09third. And I thank you so much, by the
- 3:10way, for all those who've just shown so much support and love
- 3:13over the last few years. And, you know, obviously being
- 3:16involved in pro-life work, this makes me all the more convicted
- 3:20and it makes the fight for life all the more real.
- 3:22This podcast, I think, is just born out of my heart for life
- 3:27and just the value of life and the power of relationships to
- 3:31bring life, you know, physically bring new children into the
- 3:33world. But also the importance of
- 3:35protecting marriages and families because they are so
- 3:39needed today. Strong marriages, strong
- 3:41families, strong kids. Like we cannot have a society
- 3:45without them. Our society will crumble without
- 3:48them. And so I consider my privilege
- 3:52of being married, my privilege of having children.
- 3:54You know, now we're having growing our family with our
- 3:56third. It is the greatest contribution
- 3:59I can give in this world is the love I give first to my family.
- 4:04And so it's just I feel very privileged and extremely
- 4:08grateful that I have an amazing husband that we now get to have
- 4:11another child. And it's just, it is a
- 4:14countercultural mindset I think today for many because I do
- 4:19think many people are open to marriage and children.
- 4:22Yes, but we do have a lot of negativity about children today.
- 4:26And you know, people have kids, they want only one or two,
- 4:29right? They don't want to have 34567,
- 4:32certainly not 8. You know, my parents were
- 4:35beautifully crazy having eight kids.
- 4:36I'm so grateful my siblings wouldn't be here without them
- 4:39saying yes to life. And same with my husband's
- 4:42siblings, like we love all his family, his his amazing sisters
- 4:47and brothers. And if his parents hadn't said
- 4:49yes to life, they wouldn't be here.
- 4:51And so I just think about the rippling effects through
- 4:54generations of saying yes to life, one more soul being open
- 4:58to life and how beautiful that witness is to other people to
- 5:04see a strong, thriving family. Yes, with its imperfections.
- 5:08You know, it's not like we never fight.
- 5:10We never have issues. We don't have our are wounds,
- 5:12but wanting and seeking love for each other.
- 5:16And I really believe that is the anecdote to basically all the
- 5:22confusion and chaos in our culture in the Western world,
- 5:26particularly today. What's the answer to the
- 5:31excesses of modern feminism? Family, you know, healthy
- 5:35family. What's the answer to the angst
- 5:38of red pill family? Healthy family, You know, what's
- 5:41the response to extreme leftism and Marxism?
- 5:44Family, Strong family, What's the response to, you know, maybe
- 5:48strains of fundamentalism that, you know, have two strict, A
- 5:51rigid views of what it means to women or man, like strong,
- 5:54healthy family where the mother and the father together are
- 5:57collaborating in a marriage of respect and love and sacrifice
- 6:01and loving and serving their kids like a family, family,
- 6:04family is the future. So anyways, I'm just delighted
- 6:11that I get to do family myself. And, you know, I do have the
- 6:15best husband. I talk about him sometimes on
- 6:17the show, I know. But I can only say good things
- 6:20about my husband because he really is a man of just
- 6:23consummate virtue and he's just someone who's using his talents
- 6:27every day to serve me. Our family, the community has,
- 6:31you know, the people he works with and it's a privilege I
- 6:35know. So really grateful, really
- 6:37excited. I got a question because we did
- 6:40AQ and A so I got hundreds of questions.
- 6:42Thank you all for submitting. There's a lot of them over
- 6:43Instagram, some over e-mail, some on Patreon.
- 6:46And so wanted to run through some of the Q&A, the questions,
- 6:50a few of them are about the pregnancy and asking how's it
- 6:53going? And yeah, pregnancy for me,
- 6:55typically the first trimester is rough.
- 6:58We have, this is now the, I guess the 4th pregnancy that
- 7:02I've been through first trimester or most of 1.
- 7:05And yeah, it's rough. There's a lot of nausea, there's
- 7:07a lot of fatigue. I know a lot of ladies listening
- 7:09probably relate to this. It gets much easier in the
- 7:12second trimester for me. Then I'm like, I can do
- 7:14anything. I can go anywhere, I can start
- 7:17working out again. When I do workout, I'll work
- 7:19out, but first trimester is usually really tough.
- 7:21My best advice for those in the first trimester, if you're
- 7:25listening or just tuck this away for the future, is to make sure
- 7:29to eat something in the morning before you get up, even
- 7:31crackers. Make sure you're staying really
- 7:32well hydrated and then lower expectations as you need to, to
- 7:36try to rest as much as you physically can.
- 7:38I do think that God allowing nausea is a message to us and
- 7:42the fatigue to just take it easy if you can.
- 7:45I know we have other kids or, you know, work we're doing or
- 7:47school or whatever it is, but try to, as best you can, take
- 7:51the time to nap, take the time to, you know, do your, you know,
- 7:55work if you can sitting down in a comfortable place or yeah,
- 7:58work from bed. If you're working from home, do
- 8:00what you need to do to rest as much as you physically can.
- 8:03That's helped me a lot this first trimester.
- 8:05Thankfully, we're pretty much done with the first trimester
- 8:07and that is going to be great to move into the wonderful
- 8:12footloose and fancy free second trimester.
- 8:14Then third trimester hits and you're like, when's this baby
- 8:16coming here? I am ready.
- 8:18I actually have a sister-in-law who listens to the podcast shout
- 8:20out, sis, I won't, I won't say your name and expose your
- 8:25privacy. But anyways, my amazing
- 8:26sister-in-law who is also pregnant actually have a couple
- 8:29sisters in laws who are pregnant, which is super
- 8:31exciting. But one of them and she jokes, I
- 8:33mean, she's in 3rd trimester and she jokes about how she's ready
- 8:36to have had this baby weeks ago. And yes, that's typically third
- 8:40trimester for me too. You just want to have the baby.
- 8:41So, but the whole whole of it is amazing because you are walking
- 8:45around, eating, drinking, sleeping, talking, doing the
- 8:48normal life and there's physically another human being
- 8:51inside of you. I mean, think about how insane
- 8:54pregnancy is. You have physically a whole
- 8:56unique individual human being with a beating heart and
- 8:59beautiful developing little body, a soul inside you and
- 9:03you're just out in the world. And so I still, it's telling me
- 9:07because I'm like driving in my car.
- 9:08I'm like, there's 2 two people in this car right now.
- 9:10If I even if I feel like I'm alone, there's another person in
- 9:13here. Yes.
- 9:14By the way, I think pregnant mothers should be able to drive
- 9:17in the carpal lane. OK, Other Q&A and questions I've
- 9:21received got a bunch of them, a lot of these about dating.
- 9:24A lot of these are about advice for people.
- 9:27Let's go to what to do if you're dating someone who is Christian
- 9:32but still pro-choice. OK, so the way that I see dating
- 9:38is Dating is a discernment and preparation process for
- 9:42selecting a future spouse. Yes, dating can be really fun.
- 9:46It can be really romantic. I think you should have fun when
- 9:50you're dating. I did when I dated.
- 9:53But it really has a purpose. And the purpose of dating is to
- 9:57ultimately discern for and select a spouse.
- 10:00So if you're dating someone and you discover that even though
- 10:03they say they're a Christian, they are in support of abortion,
- 10:06that's not someone that's going to be a good spouse in the
- 10:09future because you want to date someone and ultimately marry
- 10:12someone who shares your values. And the value of being against
- 10:16abortion, against killing a preborn child is pretty
- 10:20fundamental. You're not going to get much
- 10:22more fundamental than that, that you need to be aligned with
- 10:24someone about the value of human life and about the importance of
- 10:28protecting a baby in utero and, and valuing pregnancy and
- 10:31motherhood and fatherhood. So I would encourage you that if
- 10:35this really is where that person stands, this is not someone that
- 10:38you'd want to spend your life with and raise a family with
- 10:42when they are. I mean, it may be so confused
- 10:45that they would think it's OK to end the life of a preborn child.
- 10:49Now have a conversation with them, you know, maybe talk to
- 10:52them about why you're opposed to abortion.
- 10:54It's possible that they've never really considered the pro-life
- 10:57position. I know so many people who used
- 11:00to be pro-choice and who became pro-life simply because they
- 11:04never really considered it as a human life.
- 11:06They've been brainwashed. They didn't really know what
- 11:09abortion was. And so they just kind of went
- 11:11along with, yeah, I'm pro-choice.
- 11:13And then when they sat down and they actually understood this is
- 11:16a unique individual human life. Abortion kills this life.
- 11:18It's against the, it's violates the human rights of this new
- 11:21life that first let right is life.
- 11:23And if you're a Christian, God is very clear about the value of
- 11:27life. And it's very clear, especially
- 11:30with Jesus Christ coming into the world as an embryo in the
- 11:34womb of his mother Mary, it's very clear that God sees unborn
- 11:38life as precious and made in his image.
- 11:41So have the conversation. If this is someone who's not
- 11:44going to be persuaded, you know, they're just kind of like, no,
- 11:47I'm pro-choice. I'm, I'm strong in that
- 11:49position, then yeah, that's someone that doesn't have the
- 11:52values that you want in a future spouse. carlyjeanlosangeles.com

- 12:31OK, next question. I was an atheist, lost three of
- 12:35my loved ones in the past two years.
- 12:37Where do I start on my journey? So first of all, I am so sorry
- 12:42for the loss of your loved ones. Losing 1 loved one is
- 12:47devastating. Losing 3 in such a short period
- 12:49of time, I can only imagine how painful that's been for you.
- 12:53And so I'm so sorry for the loss of your loved ones.
- 12:56I think it's beautiful. You said I was an atheist.
- 12:59Where do I start on my journey? So it sounds like you're on a
- 13:01journey to discover God, to discover the truth, maybe to
- 13:05discover faith. And I think that's beautiful.
- 13:08I think there's two elements to consider here.
- 13:10There's your reason and then there is faith.
- 13:13The reason is how we use our mind, how we use our reason, our
- 13:16our intellect to think through does God exist?
- 13:19Who is God? Who am I as a human being?
- 13:22And I do think that there is proof for God in the universe.
- 13:25And using your reason to show that God is real.
- 13:28God is very real. He's not something that you just
- 13:31believe in. But I think you can actually
- 13:33using logic determine and looking at the universe and
- 13:36looking at the humanity determine that God is very real.
- 13:39And I would recommend looking at Aquinas's case for God.
- 13:44So type in Thomas Aquinas argument for God and he has some
- 13:46amazing kind of logical proofs for why God is real, why he
- 13:50exists. So yes, you can use your reason
- 13:54to come to recognize, I would say acknowledge that God is very
- 13:58real and that we can know things about this very real God from
- 14:02looking at the natural law, looking at nature, things like
- 14:05he is all powerful, He is creator and that he is good.
- 14:09He is truly good and created the world to be good.
- 14:13I think you can use your faith, though faith is more of a gift.
- 14:16Faith is more an experience that you're may be given by God that
- 14:22is not so tangible to be accessed, accessed through your
- 14:25mind through reason and to discover faith.
- 14:29I think the core way to do that is through asking for that gift.
- 14:33Faith is a gift that I think we're given.
- 14:34It's not something we can use our reason to climb into.
- 14:38And so asking for the gift of faith is really as simple as
- 14:41maybe sitting in your car right now, you feel you have little
- 14:45faith and say, God, help me believe God, if you're real,
- 14:50reveal yourself to me. God, give me faith.
- 14:53God, I want faith. God, show me, show me yourself.
- 14:58God will, I believe, reveal himself to you.
- 15:01And he does it differently for each person.
- 15:04Everybody is so individual because he loves us individually
- 15:07as sons and daughters. And he will speak to you in an
- 15:10individual way. And it may surprise you, but the
- 15:13first step is silence and opening of your heart and your
- 15:16reason, your mind to say, Lord, show me.
- 15:20So no matter where you're at, no matter where you're feeling,
- 15:23what you're feeling in your life about God, no matter the
- 15:26mistakes, the sins that you have that you've made, that you've
- 15:28done, at any point we can say to God, Lord, help me God, reveal
- 15:34yourself to me. Our relationship with God is
- 15:37just that. It's a relationship.
- 15:38It's dynamic, it's active and it requires us to open up our
- 15:41hearts to Him and to be real, to let Him know where we are AT and
- 15:45to ask Him for help. We need His help, We all need
- 15:48His help. We are mere mortals that are
- 15:50creatures created by Him that can die, that will die.
- 15:54We need Him. So we need to approach Him from
- 15:58that posture of vulnerability and need and be open to Him and
- 16:03it will amaze you. It has amazed me how He meets us
- 16:07and how He accompanies us and how He leads us when we are open
- 16:11to Him. Next question, When you were
- 16:14single, how did you keep the faith that there are great men
- 16:17out there? OK, there definitely were times
- 16:22when I was single. I didn't think that there
- 16:24weren't great men, but there are definitely times when I was
- 16:26single that I didn't know if I would meet the the man for me.
- 16:30And I wondered, would I ever get married?
- 16:32I will be real about that. And there were even times when I
- 16:35thought, am I supposed to get married?
- 16:36You know, maybe I'm supposed to be a celibate single.
- 16:41You know, I think that is a real legit part of the church.
- 16:44The Christian body is for women and for men to choose to be.
- 16:48Another term would be a consecrated single where you are
- 16:51living a celibate life. You're still in community with
- 16:53other people, but you're living a life of service, but you're
- 16:55not married. So I did consider all of that.
- 16:58But I, I always believed there were good men in the world.
- 17:01And I think I've been fortunate and blessed to know a lot of
- 17:04good men. You know, you hang out in like
- 17:06the pro-life world and there's so many good men who are doing
- 17:09good things. I have a good father.
- 17:12I have great brothers. So all of that has really, I
- 17:15think, given me hope for humanity.
- 17:17As a woman. I can understand this question
- 17:20if you're coming at it from a point where you just didn't, we
- 17:23weren't raised with good men in your life or maybe you just
- 17:25struggle to know them now. So I get it, It is hard and it's
- 17:29tough out there in the dating world.
- 17:30Like it is tough. It's hard to find people of
- 17:33shared values, of good character who you can connect with and
- 17:38want to even get married to. It's just hard.
- 17:41So I would just say keep the faith.
- 17:43Keep the faith. There are good men out there
- 17:45there. There's actually a lot of good
- 17:46men out there and there's a lot of good women out there.
- 17:49And yeah, it may take time and it can take time to meet someone
- 17:52that you are drawn to. They're drawn to you.
- 17:54You share values and future goals and you connect with and
- 17:58the faith that you share that and and you can be a match, a
- 18:01match made in heaven. That may take time, but don't
- 18:03give up the faith. Keep on becoming the best woman
- 18:06you can be. Keep on being willing to date,
- 18:10being willing to meet people and have a positive view.
- 18:13I think this is really important.
- 18:16Have a positive view of men in general, of masculinity in
- 18:20general, just as I hope you have a positive view of women in
- 18:24general and femininity in general.
- 18:26Yes, there's plenty of people that are making mistakes and
- 18:29giving men and women a bad name, and we've all made mistakes,
- 18:32right? But God created men and women to
- 18:35be gloriously good. And there are gloriously good,
- 18:39yes, with mistakes, flawed but gloriously good human beings out
- 18:43there and men out there. So have a positive, I would say
- 18:47very optimistic attitude about the future for yourself and
- 18:52about the men out there. And I believe if you're called
- 18:55especially, you will find that special man in your future and
- 19:00have an amazing future with him. Next question, a little along
- 19:03the same lines. I got a lot of these, so I
- 19:05wanted to include some more advice for girls in their 20s.
- 19:10My Gen. Z sisters.
- 19:12I am your millennial big sister, not that far away from you, but
- 19:15I'm far enough to know that you have special challenges.
- 19:19Like I hear that it's even harder to date as a Gen.
- 19:21Z, uh, than as a millennial. And yeah, we complained a lot as
- 19:24millennials, especially those that are still dating.
- 19:26We, there's still a lot of complaints.
- 19:28So listen, girls, in your 20s, you have beautiful, beautiful
- 19:34opportunities in front of you. I think the world is your
- 19:36oyster. You can do whatever you put your
- 19:40mind to. I believe that if we as young
- 19:42women put our minds to becoming the best women we can be,
- 19:46growing strong emotionally, physically, mentally, developing
- 19:51our skills, developing our maturity.
- 19:54If we are focused on our friendships and our family,
- 19:57healthy relationships, really developing service for other
- 20:01people. Like how can I love the people
- 20:03in my life? Receive love from them.
- 20:05Just fill your cup, fill yourself so that you are a woman
- 20:09of joy character. Have a great time doing hey, you
- 20:14know, like it shouldn't be you're in your early 20s like
- 20:17this is a beautiful time to explore, to grow, to meet
- 20:21people. You know, I know a lot of girls
- 20:23who got married in their early 20s.
- 20:25So if you feel called to marriage, like be open to love,
- 20:28this may be when you meet your future man, like to be open to
- 20:31that. Maybe you don't feel called to
- 20:33that and you're, you know, really focused on a cause or
- 20:36you're focused on other ways that you're serving.
- 20:40But the bottom line is make your life about love, like being
- 20:44loved and loving other people authentically.
- 20:47And I think the first person to love and to be loved by is God.
- 20:51Like shore up that relationship with God and then become the
- 20:54best you can be. Like you have so many
- 20:57opportunities, you have so much to give, you have so much to
- 21:01give and you are worth so much. So let yourself be poured into
- 21:06and pour into others. And I'm so excited for your
- 21:09future. When you hit your 30s like me,
- 21:12it's going to be rocking. I'm I'm so three 30s is my best
- 21:16decade, but it's because I think I went all in in my 20s and it
- 21:19created this great foundation for an even better decade in
- 21:23your 30s. And you know what?
- 21:24I hope 40s even better. So you're on the path.
- 21:27Stay on it. You need fuel for your day.
- 21:30You wake up in the morning, what do you do?
- 21:31You reach for your coffee. Reach for your Seven Weeks

- 22:05OK, another question for women. Why isn't being happily single
- 22:10as a Christian woman talked about anymore?
- 22:14This is a good question. This is a really good question.
- 22:17I've actually gotten this a lot of times, you know, in comments
- 22:21and messages from women, Christian women who are single,
- 22:24not just very young women, but like older women, women in their
- 22:2750s or 60s who are single. Maybe they wanted to get married
- 22:31and they weren't able to. Maybe they never really felt the
- 22:34call to get married. Maybe they, you know, had
- 22:37different things in their life, different, maybe a tragedy or
- 22:40just different outcomes. But the point is, they're
- 22:43single. And I think sometimes the modern
- 22:45church, you know, I see this particularly in the evangelical
- 22:48world, not to diss it because there's an amazing evangelical
- 22:52world, and but it's among some Catholics too.
- 22:54But this sort of sense of if I'm not married, if I don't have
- 22:57kids, then somehow I'm not, I'm not doing it.
- 23:01I'm not doing the Christian thing.
- 23:03That is so not true. Yes, I would say most people are
- 23:07called to marriage and to have children if they can't.
- 23:09I think that is largely speaking true.
- 23:11But many people, many people are going to be called to a
- 23:16singleness to be celibate, single.
- 23:18So celibate means you're obviously not having sex.
- 23:20So sex is for marriage. But you're living in right
- 23:23relationship. You know, you're living in
- 23:24community made with other women, your family, friends, but you
- 23:28are still living out your complete womanhood as a single
- 23:32woman in service of other people.
- 23:35Maybe you're not mothering biologically, but you're
- 23:37mothering spiritually. You're being a sister to other
- 23:40people and you are necessary. Your love, the gifts you have to
- 23:44offer the human being that you are is necessary to the body of
- 23:48Christ. And this is scriptural.
- 23:50This is in the tradition of our Christian faith, that there have
- 23:53been women from the beginning of the faith, from the time of
- 23:57Christ, who have chosen the single life, the single
- 24:00vocation, in order to serve God's people and to serve others
- 24:05in a unique way that maybe a mother and a wife cannot do.
- 24:09Now, that's not to say mothers and wife don't serve in an
- 24:11incredibly important way, but it is to say that being a celibate
- 24:14single can be an incredibly special important calling in the
- 24:17church. And in the history of the
- 24:19church, before the Protestant Reformation particularly, all
- 24:23Christians saw this as an actual vocation where you could be a
- 24:27religious, you could be a nun or sister, or you could just be a
- 24:30consecrated single woman who was out in the world working, living
- 24:34life, serving the church. And that was a legit vocation, a
- 24:39way of life for many, many women.
- 24:42Historically. We lost a little bit about a
- 24:45little bit of this after the Protestant Reformation because
- 24:47there is a big push from the reformers to say no women should
- 24:50marry and have children. That is their place in life.
- 24:53But the reality is there has always been in the Church a
- 24:56role, an important one for single women.
- 25:00This still exists in Catholicism and the Orthodox faiths today.
- 25:03And I think in even the evangelical Protestant world, I
- 25:06think it's realizing, hey, this should exist.
- 25:08That's why, by the way, I hope the Church will become all one,
- 25:11all under one authority so that we can all use the same
- 25:14language, have the same prayer for this.
- 25:17But the reality is you're a single woman or a single man,
- 25:21you have a particularly important role to play.
- 25:25And I do think we've discovered that, I would say like
- 25:28ontologically, so philosophically speaking, by
- 25:31looking at the tradition of the church and the actual roles that
- 25:36the church has designed in consecrated single life, you
- 25:39know, in the religious life for single men and women.
- 25:44Now you might be listening and you're like a single woman.
- 25:46You're like, well, I don't want to be consecrated because I
- 25:48don't want to pledge my life to celibacy the rest of my life
- 25:51because I want to be open to marriage, Right?
- 25:54Well, you still have a vital role to play.
- 25:56You're a daughter of God. You're a sister.
- 25:59And you are, you know, working and loving and living.
- 26:01You're in community. Own it.
- 26:04Thank you for being you. And maybe at some point you'll
- 26:07feel called or you'll meet someone to marry.
- 26:09But you are fully alive now. You are fully a woman now.
- 26:13And you are fully necessary, needed now.
- 26:16So live your life and thank you for being a light in the world.
- 26:21OK, we're going to do a couple more questions here.
- 26:23What would your advice for single mums on finding love and
- 26:26finding success be? OK, so advice for single moms on
- 26:31finding love and finding success.
- 26:32First of all, I want to affirm that your role as a mother is
- 26:35incredibly important. I know you know this listening
- 26:38and you value that so much. You have been faithful in your
- 26:41motherhood, raising your baby. Your babies keep doing that.
- 26:45They come first. I'm not saying that single moms
- 26:48shouldn't date and be open to meeting, you know, a man, the
- 26:51future who could be a father and adoptive father to their kids.
- 26:53I think that's beautiful. But your priority is your kids.
- 26:57And so when you approach is dating, right, you're going to
- 27:00have standards that are really important and your boundaries
- 27:03are going to be really important because you want to protect your
- 27:06most important thing to protect your kids.
- 27:09And so you want to date men that have your values, that have
- 27:13honor and integrity, that have character.
- 27:15And if you see any orange flags, and if you see a red flag, like
- 27:19deeply consider that orange flag and like evaluate that.
- 27:22You know, is this someone who's respectful?
- 27:23Is this someone who treats me with sexual integrity right?
- 27:26Is this someone who has a good track record?
- 27:28Is this someone who has good relationships and who has good
- 27:32integrity and is, you know, a good worker in his work and, you
- 27:36know, he has these character traits that are important.
- 27:39If he has any red flags, do not let him into your life.
- 27:42Like, you're protecting your kids.
- 27:44You're not just protecting yourself.
- 27:45And I think some single moms, they can struggle because
- 27:48they're really, you know, trying to do so much to care for their
- 27:51kids and their life and but have a high standard for yourself and
- 27:54for your kids. I think that's really important.
- 27:57There are great men out there. I know many single moms who have
- 28:00young kids who married wonderful men.
- 28:03So there are great men out there.
- 28:04Don't let yourself feel looked down on because you are a mom
- 28:09with kids. That's a beautiful thing that
- 28:11you've said yes to life and you have your your little ones.
- 28:14But be choosy and dating. Put your kids first.
- 28:17Focus on your family. And, you know, be open to love,
- 28:20but do that with boundaries and do that with standards.
- 28:23And here's a question from one of our patrons.
- 28:25He says, would you consider leading a workshop designed to
- 28:28teach people how to advocate for pro-life, where to advocate,
- 28:30what to expect, how to best answer questions?
- 28:32Yes, I would consider that. Thank you, James.
- 28:35And actually we have considered that and we've done it at Live
- 28:38Action, so you can check that out through pro-life Replies to
- 28:41pro-choice Questions. It's actually a whole series.
- 28:43I'm the host in many of the videos talking about tough
- 28:46pro-choice questions and how you can give a pro-life reply.
- 28:49We also have an ambassador's training.
- 28:51If you sign up for our Ambassadors program that's
- 28:53virtual, that tells you how you can respond to pro-choice
- 28:57questions and give a good and winning pro pro-life argument.
- 29:01We also have a lot of live Action News articles and other
- 29:03videos that just generally talk about how to represent the
- 29:06pro-life position. That being said, we will be
- 29:08having conferences in the future at Live Action and we've had
- 29:11them in the past. So keep an eye out at
- 29:13liveaction.org because we'd love to have you at a future one.
- 29:16All right, last question here. Would you consider running for
- 29:19government? OK, so the reality is, yes, I
- 29:24would. I would consider running for
- 29:26public office someday if if I felt that God was calling me to
- 29:31it. I don't naturally have an
- 29:33affinity for politics, perfectly honest.
- 29:35I actually really struggle being involved in politics because I
- 29:40find it very frustrating. I think that the political world
- 29:44is so full of compromise, lack of authenticity, yes, you know,
- 29:49disingenuity, yes, there's a lot of corruption, there's a lot of
- 29:53fake stuff happening. There's a lot of bad stuff
- 29:55happening. It's just, it can be a dirty
- 29:57world. I don't think we can compromise
- 30:00with the lives of human beings. So, you know, we're fighting for
- 30:02life. I want to stop abortions and I
- 30:05it drives me crazy when politicians constantly
- 30:07compromise, especially when they don't even need to and they're
- 30:09always just running, running from standing strong because
- 30:13they're afraid of what people will think of them, what the
- 30:16media will say about them. So I think I would be a very odd
- 30:18candidate, to be honest. I think I'd be out there and I
- 30:21would just, you know, be so be so firm in what I believed and
- 30:26refused to budget that maybe that would turn off a lot of
- 30:28voters. I don't know.
- 30:30You can't compromise on things in politics, by the way.
- 30:32But there are some things that are non negotiables.
- 30:34And unfortunately, I think a lot of people in politics treat the
- 30:37non negotiables like negotiables.
- 30:39And of course, the first non negotiable, in my opinion, is
- 30:41the right to human life. You can't kill people,
- 30:45especially little babies. So I think, yeah, I'd, I'd
- 30:48consider running for office, but my platform would be very much,
- 30:52you know, you can't kill babies, be pro-life and let's make
- 30:56America the most welcoming place to have a family.
- 30:59And yes, they'll be compromises and negotiations.
- 31:01How to do that? But ultimately it would have to
- 31:04be a calling, a calling that I felt was from God.
- 31:07And right now, I've got a lot of my plate between our third baby
- 31:10coming and, you know, live action, this podcast, GTB, most
- 31:15importantly, my family. There's a lot so that can wait
- 31:18for a future date. All right, guys, thank you so
