- 2:04Speaker 7: Good morning everybody you are listening to the voice, Come
- 2:08Speaker 7: on now, digny one and only Steve Harvey got the
- 2:12Speaker 7: radio show. Thank God for it all the time too. Well,
- 2:15Speaker 7: here we go today. I want to share something with
- 2:19Speaker 7: you that will help you because it's helped me.
- 2:23Speaker 6: You know.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I was.
- 2:26Speaker 7: Telling the story once that in this magazine called Rob Report,
- 2:32Speaker 7: that there was a statue I used to see for years.
- 2:34Speaker 7: I started buying Rob Report magazines years ago. So I
- 2:40Speaker 7: just wanted to see what affluent people did, you know,
- 2:43Speaker 7: just wanted to see what people with means did, what
- 2:47Speaker 7: type of investments they did, what they bought, you know,
- 2:50Speaker 7: where they traveled to the Rob Report. It's just like
- 2:53Speaker 7: a it's like a big boy toy magazine. You can
- 2:57Speaker 7: see what cars is out. And I didn't have money
- 2:59Speaker 7: for none of it. Just I was dreaming, though, you know,
- 3:02Speaker 7: I just wanted to see. And there's a statue inside
- 3:07Speaker 7: this magazine of this man who was coming out of
- 3:12Speaker 7: this bronze rock. And he was completely bronzed, and he
- 3:16Speaker 7: was muscular, and you know, he didn't look nothing like me,
- 3:20Speaker 7: but he was a man coming up out of a rock.
- 3:22Speaker 7: And he had a huge hammer and a chisel in
- 3:24Speaker 7: his hand. And as his body from the waist up
- 3:29Speaker 7: was coming out of this huge piece of stone, you
- 3:31Speaker 7: could see where it was him who had been chiseling
- 3:34Speaker 7: informing himself. So the name of the statue was self
- 3:37Speaker 7: made Man. And for years man I said, Man, I'm
- 3:41Speaker 7: gonna get a big house one day, and I'm gonna
- 3:43Speaker 7: put that statue in the backyard in the corner. That's
- 3:46Speaker 7: gonna be my little spot where I go chill, because
- 3:50Speaker 7: I'm a self made man. Well, after years of working
- 3:55Speaker 7: at becoming somebody and having reached a degree of success,
- 4:04Speaker 7: I would have nothing to do with that statue. There's
- 4:07Speaker 7: nothing about that statue that appeals to me anymore, because
- 4:12Speaker 7: on my journey and in my quest to become what
- 4:15Speaker 7: I thought would be this self made man, where I
- 4:18Speaker 7: could put this statue and had this statue in the
- 4:21Speaker 7: corner be kind of cold symbolizing it.
- 4:24Speaker 5: I made it.
- 4:24Speaker 7: I realized on my journey there's no such thing as
- 4:29Speaker 7: a self made man. That we all need help, and
- 4:32Speaker 7: that God places people in our paths along the way
- 4:38Speaker 7: that benefit us oftentimes. And it's the most unlikely person
- 4:42Speaker 7: often times, and it's the most unlikely way that He
- 4:46Speaker 7: presents these people in front of you. It's crazy how
- 4:48Speaker 7: he does it.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Man.
- 4:50Speaker 7: And so this is a statue now that I look
- 4:53Speaker 7: at and I go, I see what the creator was saying.
- 4:56Speaker 7: And that's cool, but not not for me, because because
- 5:00Speaker 7: I needed help, and I've learned a lot of things
- 5:04Speaker 7: like this along the way. And the part I wanted
- 5:08Speaker 7: to share with you all about this is you've got
- 5:10Speaker 7: to develop You've got to develop a sense of purpose.
- 5:16Speaker 7: You have to develop a sense of purpose that's different. See,
- 5:21Speaker 7: your purpose is created for you by God because when
- 5:29Speaker 7: He created you as an individual from whatever two parents
- 5:32Speaker 7: you may have, that's not important here. When he created you,
- 5:37Speaker 7: he had something in mind for you, and it was
- 5:41Speaker 7: a purpose. God has not created a single soul to
- 5:44Speaker 7: become a criminal. God has never created a single soul
- 5:49Speaker 7: to be a drug dealer. This came about through some
- 5:52Speaker 7: decisions we made as sinners, and we stayed.
- 5:56Speaker 2: In that place. But see what he created us. He
- 6:01Speaker 2: has a wonderful idea for us.
- 6:04Speaker 7: But God gives us human beings this thing called choice,
- 6:07Speaker 7: and we have the power to decide. So you can
- 6:10Speaker 7: decide if you're gonna adhere to the purpose that God
- 6:13Speaker 7: created you and made you for, or you can go
- 6:16Speaker 7: ahead and make some choices on your own. So like,
- 6:20Speaker 7: if God wanted to give you a life and give
- 6:21Speaker 7: it to come to you and give you life more abundantly,
- 6:24Speaker 7: and that's his promise if you come to him, if
- 6:27Speaker 7: you choose him, then cool. But if you say, well
- 6:31Speaker 7: this ain't moving along fast enough, I'm gonna get my
- 6:34Speaker 7: own life of abundance, I'm gonna start slinging.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Well, guess what now, Tada.
- 6:39Speaker 7: You made a decision and seek God's decisions and choices.
- 6:43Speaker 7: The one thing I learned about them, God's decisions, choices,
- 6:47Speaker 7: his voice, It has no sin in it. And it
- 6:50Speaker 7: amazing how many people it came up to you and said,
- 6:52Speaker 7: the Lord wanted me to do this to you, and
- 6:54Speaker 7: I'm doing it. That God is punishing you and I'm
- 6:57Speaker 7: doing this to you because God gonna see that you
- 6:59Speaker 7: get your day.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Who is this person?
- 7:02Speaker 7: Who is this person that God all of a sudden
- 7:05Speaker 7: gave this authority and power to God didn't get at
- 7:08Speaker 7: the nobody, Man, nobody, this person don't have the right
- 7:12Speaker 7: to hold you to your past, the right to make
- 7:15Speaker 7: you pay. So who makes them pay when they make mistakes?
- 7:19Speaker 7: Because they all make them. So when I say you
- 7:22Speaker 7: have to have a sense of you have to develop
- 7:24Speaker 7: a strong sense of purpose. That means you have to
- 7:27Speaker 7: strongly get in touch with your creator to find out
- 7:30Speaker 7: what the purpose you were created for. See, it's two
- 7:34Speaker 7: things that I had to learn along the way. My
- 7:37Speaker 7: career was what I was paid for. My calling is
- 7:42Speaker 7: what I was made for. See, it's two different things, folks.
- 7:46Speaker 7: It took me a long time to learn it. Some
- 7:49Speaker 7: people think that they calling is to be a performer. Well,
- 7:54Speaker 7: that's what you paid for, and a big part of
- 7:56Speaker 7: your life is your performance. It's tied directly to your
- 8:00Speaker 7: But what you made for, though, what you made for
- 8:04Speaker 7: is to bring about some significant change in another human
- 8:07Speaker 7: beings lives because we are all linked together in this chain.
- 8:12Speaker 2: That's what you are here for.
- 8:14Speaker 7: Everybody has a purpose to do something wonderful, meaningful, or
- 8:18Speaker 7: impactful for another person. You think the God that invented
- 8:23Speaker 7: the airplane was merely inventing the airplane so he could fly. Now,
- 8:29Speaker 7: his purpose was to become an inventor, to come up
- 8:32Speaker 7: with this invention so he could fly and we all fly.
- 8:36Speaker 5: See.
- 8:37Speaker 7: Sometimes God will make you successful so you can become successful,
- 8:41Speaker 7: so you can turn around to teach other people how
- 8:43Speaker 7: to become successful. God save people, so you can turn
- 8:47Speaker 7: around it tell other people how wonderful it is to
- 8:49Speaker 7: be saved. You see how this thing work. That's what
- 8:53Speaker 7: we have to do as people. And it's nothing that
- 8:56Speaker 7: we have to go and discover. We have to go
- 8:58Speaker 7: and develop it. But if you have a discovery with
- 9:00Speaker 7: your purpose, it's simply because here's it. If you haven't
- 9:04Speaker 7: discovered your purpose, it's simply because you have not contacted
- 9:10Speaker 7: the creator and maker of your soul to ask and
- 9:15Speaker 7: find out why you were created. It's as simple as that.
- 9:23Speaker 7: If you buy a toyota, there's an owner's manual on
- 9:28Speaker 7: the inside that will tell you everything you know how
- 9:32Speaker 7: to best operate your toyota, how to make it work,
- 9:37Speaker 7: what to do.
- 9:37Speaker 2: They got a trouble shooting section.
- 9:40Speaker 7: Your faith is the same thing as an owner's manual
- 9:44Speaker 7: in your car. Open up that book, man, find out
- 9:48Speaker 7: how to jumpstart your life, how to troubleshoot it and
- 9:51Speaker 7: get on with your life, and find out your purpose
- 9:54Speaker 7: and develop a strong sense of purpose.
- 9:56Speaker 1: All right, Okay, you're listening.
- 10:00Speaker 7: Show ladies, gentlemen, truck drivers, bosses, warner bees, people in construction,
- 10:15Speaker 7: bridge workers, school crossing guards. You know, man, I had
- 10:20Speaker 7: a school crossing guard one time. I never met a
- 10:23Speaker 7: person more evil. Why are you a hateful person leading
- 10:29Speaker 7: the kids cross the street? All of us felt in
- 10:33Speaker 7: endangered every time she put the stop sign up because
- 10:36Speaker 7: I felt like she was trying to kill us. I
- 10:39Speaker 7: really did, man, she was an evil crossing God cars
- 10:43Speaker 7: be coming.
- 10:43Speaker 2: She waited the.
- 10:44Speaker 7: Last minute throw that sign out. You here, everybody in
- 10:47Speaker 7: the crosswalks started crying and running. I was just I
- 10:50Speaker 7: don't know why I thought of that just now, but
- 10:52Speaker 7: that's how my mind was. Just thought I'd let y'all
- 10:54Speaker 7: in there. This is Steve Harvey Martin show. Be Grateful today.
- 10:57Speaker 7: Y'all had long conversation with God. Really spent some time
- 11:00Speaker 7: thanking him in some morning to do the same thing.
- 11:02Speaker 7: Just take a couple of minutes, man out to day.
- 11:04Speaker 7: Close your eyes. You ain't got to just thinking you
- 11:06Speaker 7: can do that with your eyes open. I ain't telling
- 11:09Speaker 7: to tell you how to do it. I'm just asking
- 11:10Speaker 7: you to do it.
- 11:11Speaker 2: That's all.
- 11:12Speaker 5: Here we go.
- 11:12Speaker 7: Shirlie Strawberry calling for real Mississippi Monica Jr. Better known
- 11:16Speaker 7: as KLS, which stands for kill Lwan's space.
- 11:20Speaker 2: It's the lauwan for me kill. I didn't get that
- 11:24Speaker 2: at first. I don't know.
- 11:25Speaker 7: That's when black people started naming their kids Spanish names kill.
- 11:30Speaker 7: I don't know where that came from. That is not
- 11:32Speaker 7: black though, killer.
- 11:34Speaker 2: But lawan no.
- 11:35Speaker 7: Oh yeah, oh yeah, they made up for kill and
- 11:39Speaker 7: the legend that is nephew Tommy Jr.
- 11:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 8: Let me ask you, uh, you know our family decided
- 11:45Speaker 8: this year we're gonna do that gift exchange. Have you
- 11:47Speaker 8: done that before with your family when you do the

- 12:15Speaker 7: you your gift ain't gonna be worth it. That help
- 12:18Speaker 7: because first of all, he don't see nothing wrong. When

- 15:41Speaker 6: But I think we've got something up right Alley. Now,
- 15:43Speaker 6: let me ask you this question. Are you good working barefooted?
- 15:47Speaker 4: Barefooted?
- 15:48Speaker 6: Yeah, without without shoes on it all?
- 15:52Speaker 4: Well, I mean I guess if the jobs required it,
- 15:56Speaker 4: then I mean, yeah, I can do that.
- 15:58Speaker 6: Okay. Now we're gonna start Monday morning right at sunrise,

- 16:15Speaker 6: gonna what you're gonna be doing is actually picking cotton,
- 16:18Speaker 6: and we want you to do it barefooted, and we'd
- 16:21Speaker 6: like for you to actually sing while you're doing it.

- 16:55Speaker 3: I don't.
- 16:56Speaker 4: I don't think. Who's this again?
- 17:00Speaker 6: Like I said, I'm Daniel. I wanted the employees here.
- 17:03Speaker 6: I work at employment agency. You know, I pulled up
- 17:06Speaker 6: your file and saw how long you've been out of work,
- 17:08Speaker 6: and you know, I've got something that I think you'll
- 17:11Speaker 6: be perfect for.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Okay, but what I mean, what is this job really about?
- 17:16Speaker 4: I mean, you talk, you're talking about picking cotton.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Well, you know, basically, it's kind of like you're getting paid.
- 17:23Speaker 6: You know, the ten bucks an hour, you're probably gonna
- 17:25Speaker 6: get about ten hours in a day, so so you
- 17:27Speaker 6: know you're gonna make a hundred bucks a day. It's
- 17:29Speaker 6: it's a it's kind of like slavery, but it's not.
- 17:32Speaker 4: It's hold up, hold up, brot, hold up, man. I
- 17:37Speaker 4: didn't sign on for nothing like this. Man, I mean,
- 17:39Speaker 4: I'm thinking you guys are supposed to be helping me
- 17:42Speaker 4: with a up today job. I mean, slavery don't even
- 17:45Speaker 4: exist no more.
- 17:46Speaker 6: Man, I mean I mean, we are going to pay you,
- 17:50Speaker 6: you understand, but we do want you barefoot.
- 17:52Speaker 4: You are telling me I gotta I gotta sing and
- 17:55Speaker 4: walk barefooted picking cotton, singing some some slavery songs. Bro,
- 18:00Speaker 4: I don't do anything like that.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Man.
- 18:02Speaker 4: I'm voting tuesday. Man that slavery is a fool with man.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Whatever are you talking about?
- 18:07Speaker 6: I can't what did you say?
- 18:09Speaker 3: Man?
- 18:09Speaker 4: I'm thinking that you guys are going to be finding
- 18:11Speaker 4: me at a job.
- 18:13Speaker 6: A job, job, definite job in regardless of how you
- 18:18Speaker 6: like it. It's a job. Now. I need you to
- 18:21Speaker 6: report one in the morning out in the field with
- 18:24Speaker 6: no shoes and ready to see me.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Man, I am not reporting, no damn weear at five
- 18:29Speaker 4: o'clock in the morning at no damn field. Brother, I mean,
- 18:33Speaker 4: I don't know why why you even calling me with
- 18:35Speaker 4: this matter of fact matter of fact? You know what,

- 20:48Speaker 1: All right, nephew, thank you.
- 20:49Speaker 10: Coming up next, it is asked the CLO, our chief
- 20:52Speaker 10: Love Officer, Steve Harvey.
- 20:54Speaker 1: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 20:57Speaker 10: Time now for us the c l oh, the chief
- 21:00Speaker 10: love opposite of the Cloe, as a nephew calls him,
- 21:03Speaker 10: you ready, Clo Stavid?
- 21:06Speaker 2: All right?
- 21:06Speaker 10: This one is from Marcus, an iHeartRadio app listener. Marcus says,
- 21:10Speaker 10: I've been married for four years, but I think my
- 21:12Speaker 10: wife had sex with a guy from my gym. I
- 21:16Speaker 10: was working out one morning and there were only two
- 21:19Speaker 10: other people in the gym. One of the guys came
- 21:22Speaker 10: over and said he recognized me from a picture on
- 21:25Speaker 10: social media.
- 21:26Speaker 1: He asked if I knew a guy named Bo. I
- 21:28Speaker 1: told him that Bo is a relative.
- 21:30Speaker 10: He said he messed around with Bo's sister a few
- 21:32Speaker 10: months ago, but he hasn't seen or.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Talked to Bo lately. Well, Bo's sister is my wife.
- 21:39Speaker 10: My wife denied everything, and Bo wouldn't confirm or deny
- 21:43Speaker 10: what I need answers.
- 21:45Speaker 1: So how should I handle this? Clo woo?
- 21:48Speaker 7: Well, you could just pull in with ass whoop it,
- 21:51Speaker 7: stop it. Dotta get somebody to talk it.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Uh huh, hold on, man, hold what wait a minute?
- 21:58Speaker 5: What you doing?
- 22:00Speaker 2: So Shirley explain it to me again?
- 22:02Speaker 1: Okay?
- 22:03Speaker 10: So he was at the gym working out one one morning.
- 22:07Speaker 10: There were only two other people in the gym. One
- 22:09Speaker 10: of the guys came over and said he recognized him
- 22:12Speaker 10: from a picture on social media.
- 22:14Speaker 2: He recognized Marcus.
- 22:16Speaker 10: Yes, yes, yes, okay. He asked if I knew a
- 22:19Speaker 10: guy named Bo. I told him that Bo is a relative.
- 22:23Speaker 10: He said he messed around with Bo's sister a few
- 22:25Speaker 10: months ago, but he hasn't seen or talked to Bo lately. Well,
- 22:31Speaker 10: Bo's sister is my wife. My wife denied everything. Bo
- 22:34Speaker 10: wouldn't confirm or deny what happened, and I need answers.
- 22:37Speaker 2: He said, hold hold of dog.
- 22:40Speaker 7: You let a dude come up to you in a
- 22:43Speaker 7: gym with some social media mess to ask you, did
- 22:47Speaker 7: you know a guy named Bo? Because he messed around
- 22:51Speaker 7: with his sister and he ain't seen him in a while.
- 22:55Speaker 7: So now the throwaway line is he messed around with
- 22:59Speaker 7: Bo's sisters now that happens to be your wife. First
- 23:04Speaker 7: of all, he could be lying, and number two, which
- 23:08Speaker 7: I think he is, because ain't no way in the
- 23:11Speaker 7: hell this dude would come up to a man's wife
- 23:14Speaker 7: and make this statement if he thought it were true.
- 23:20Speaker 7: So I would be very careful man, before you go
- 23:23Speaker 7: at your wife with all this hocus pokers from this
- 23:25Speaker 7: guy at the GM on social media.
- 23:29Speaker 10: But what if what if the guy didn't know that
- 23:34Speaker 10: Bo's sister was his wife? Well, I'm pretty sure he
- 23:37Speaker 10: would he wouldn't know that.
- 23:39Speaker 6: But what.
- 23:43Speaker 7: First of all, if you just trying to meet both,
- 23:46Speaker 7: why would you go up to a dude and go
- 23:49Speaker 7: I used to mess with his sister.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Now you're just trying to find both.
- 23:55Speaker 7: Man, can we whoop his hands and apologize if it
- 23:59Speaker 7: went wrong? See if you pull in on his ass.
- 24:02Speaker 7: It's like what I said in the beginning, We're gonna
- 24:05Speaker 7: get your truth a lot quicker exactly, because all you
- 24:10Speaker 7: got to do is just start whooping his ass because
- 24:13Speaker 7: he said he slept with your wife, so you had
- 24:16Speaker 7: a right to whoop somebody asked who come up to
- 24:18Speaker 7: you and say that? And then we can get down
- 24:20Speaker 7: to the bottom of the truth. We find out if
- 24:22Speaker 7: he really know bold he trying to let you know
- 24:24Speaker 7: he slept with your wife?
- 24:25Speaker 2: What if that's what you're trying to let me know?
- 24:27Speaker 5: Thank you?
- 24:28Speaker 2: And here's this ass woman.
- 24:30Speaker 1: All right, we're moving on.
- 24:31Speaker 10: Tanisha and Charlotte's yeah, bon nose Tanisha and Charlotte clo
- 24:38Speaker 10: says I was free and fold.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Why don't we do this?
- 24:42Speaker 1: Why don't you just asked bowl Bog.
- 24:47Speaker 7: He's supposed to be his cousin. Why don't you just
- 24:50Speaker 7: go ask both did his boy sleep with his sister?
- 24:55Speaker 7: And if he slept with him before y'all got married, dog, it.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Might not be a problem few months ago. Okay, Well
- 25:02Speaker 1: they've been married for four years.
- 25:04Speaker 7: Oh yeah, well else, I ass now, I only know
- 25:06Speaker 7: how you didn't issue it at the gym? What wasn't
- 25:07Speaker 7: number three people in there?
- 25:10Speaker 1: Truth?
- 25:10Speaker 2: All a lot?
- 25:11Speaker 10: Yeah right, all right? Tanisha and Charlotte says. I was
- 25:15Speaker 10: free and single, living my best life till a man
- 25:18Speaker 10: came along and swept me off my feet. He's from
- 25:21Speaker 10: a small town and he has very traditional ways, and
- 25:24Speaker 10: I thought it was cute at first, but now it's weird.
- 25:26Speaker 10: He has set bedtime and he expects me to go
- 25:29Speaker 10: to bed at ten thirty every night too. Saturday night,
- 25:33Speaker 10: I waited for him to drift off to sleep, and
- 25:35Speaker 10: I woke him up with a little surprise under the covers.
- 25:38Speaker 10: He pushed me away and said he needed sleep, and
- 25:40Speaker 10: there's time and a place for everything. We're both only
- 25:43Speaker 10: twenty eight, so why is he such a prude? Is
- 25:46Speaker 10: this something that can be changed?
- 25:49Speaker 2: What well he got on the schedule?
- 25:51Speaker 7: You couldn't have an unhappy life now, yeah, right now,
- 25:55Speaker 7: you couldn't have a very very unhappy answer life.
- 26:00Speaker 2: There's a time and place for everything. When I was
- 26:01Speaker 2: twenty eight, the time and place for sex was now.
- 26:05Speaker 1: What's now? Right now?
- 26:06Speaker 5: Always?
- 26:07Speaker 3: Now?
- 26:07Speaker 2: Every now, I don't give a damn when you bought
- 26:12Speaker 2: it up.
- 26:12Speaker 7: We could be fully dressed all the way out the
- 26:15Speaker 7: dough for church and look at the start of.
- 26:20Speaker 1: It in church.
- 26:21Speaker 11: I would what yeah, yeah, yeah, this is boy right here,
- 26:27Speaker 11: This is craziness. Yeah said thirty boy to go ahead, yeah, ten.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Under the covers and just the two of you.
- 26:38Speaker 3: What now?
- 26:41Speaker 10: All right, we don't have time for another one, Steve,
- 26:44Speaker 10: but if you have any.
- 26:46Speaker 1: More advice for bo okay go or both's cousin.
- 26:53Speaker 2: The dude at the Jimney. I asked.
- 26:56Speaker 7: First of all, for either telling the truth that it
- 26:59Speaker 7: was your wife, Yeah, lying on your wife, one.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Of the two.
- 27:03Speaker 10: Either the truth, Yeah, you think it was the truth.
- 27:08Speaker 10: I think it was the truth, because he didn't. I mean,
- 27:10Speaker 10: was he just being messy? Was he just being a
- 27:12Speaker 10: messy dude?
- 27:13Speaker 7: You can't take unless you was at the gym and
- 27:16Speaker 7: the dude is big and buff and you a little scrowny,
- 27:18Speaker 7: little pok ash.
- 27:22Speaker 12: Yeah.

- 36:40Speaker 5: All right?
- 36:41Speaker 10: Would you rather know what you're gonna get for Christmas?
- 36:44Speaker 10: Or would you rather be surprised?
- 36:47Speaker 5: I'm not going to get a damn thing.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Surprise, surprise, that's your surprise?
- 36:53Speaker 5: May wake me up for that. Either you think I
- 36:58Speaker 5: didn't know that bike was wrapped?
- 37:02Speaker 2: Ask me what I won't so I don't be hurt?
- 37:05Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, exactly.
- 37:09Speaker 2: It's real simple. What I want?
- 37:12Speaker 5: What do you want?
- 37:13Speaker 6: What you want?
- 37:13Speaker 2: We watch.
- 37:16Speaker 4: All?
- 37:16Speaker 2: I want to watch?
- 37:18Speaker 5: Different thought? Give no watch?
- 37:23Speaker 7: Well, Margie know what to do though she ain't never missed.
- 37:28Speaker 7: She did too much though sometimes I'll go ahead.
- 37:31Speaker 1: All right, thanks guys, that's today's round of would you
- 37:35Speaker 1: rather you're listening? Morning show?
- 37:39Speaker 5: All right?
- 37:39Speaker 10: We promised to talk about holiday traditions, especially Christmas traditions,
- 37:43Speaker 10: and while time honored holiday traditions are important, they've also
- 37:47Speaker 10: evolved over the generations. Now, this is according to a survey,
- 37:51Speaker 10: family activities and writing to Santa are still among the
- 37:55Speaker 10: most popular holiday traditions. That is interesting, even though I've
- 38:00Speaker 10: never written to Santa. Even though we live in a
- 38:02Speaker 10: tech savvy world, three out of four parents say their
- 38:06Speaker 10: children still hand write letters to Santa, as opposed to
- 38:10Speaker 10: a more modern approach like email. And really, and what's
- 38:15Speaker 10: the most popular family activity in twenty seventeen this year? Well,
- 38:19Speaker 10: according to most households, it's decorating the Christmas tree as
- 38:24Speaker 10: a family.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Now that I like, I can, I can relate to that.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Do this, we do that. Yeah.
- 38:29Speaker 10: So let's so, Steve, we got to start with you here.
- 38:33Speaker 10: What are the family traditions that your family keeps that
- 38:36Speaker 10: you definitely.
- 38:37Speaker 2: First of all, let me get this trae voodle.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Your grandson ale, Noah and Rose.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Grandchildren.
- 38:50Speaker 7: I'm not telling them that Santa Claus is coming down
- 38:55Speaker 7: the chimney. Okay, nay, Mom and Daddy might. But if
- 38:58Speaker 7: they come over Papa's house, m hm, Papa bought all this. Okay,
- 39:06Speaker 7: let's be straight about that. Give down here this yard
- 39:10Speaker 7: and Propa, Papa paid. Okay, all the little figure hairs snow,
- 39:14Speaker 7: I bought all that in here. I had that tree
- 39:18Speaker 7: in the in the in the in the foyer that
- 39:20Speaker 7: Papa bought that.
- 39:21Speaker 10: So that's a new tradition really, because you weren't you
- 39:25Speaker 10: brought up with thinking Santa Claus did it for a
- 39:28Speaker 10: while when you were little.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, so you're usually as young as your grandchildren are.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:33Speaker 6: Well you know my.
- 39:35Speaker 7: Kids take their kids to see Santa Claus. Uh, yeah,
- 39:39Speaker 7: they're thinking it's a Santa Claus. I'm just telling don't
- 39:42Speaker 7: bring them over here.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Why you gotta call so real with it right now? Well, no,
- 39:46Speaker 2: Papa house all is paid for by the big ball.
- 39:49Speaker 5: Har does you work?
- 39:50Speaker 1: You want some credit?
- 39:51Speaker 7: Yeah, the white man didn't bought nothing up in here.
- 39:54Speaker 7: The bald head black man that's in that office down
- 39:57Speaker 7: there at the front of the house.
- 39:58Speaker 2: You going that dash Santa cl matter of fact, don't
- 40:02Speaker 2: bring him up when you come in.
- 40:04Speaker 7: Here, because he had none to do and everything on
- 40:06Speaker 7: this side of the gate, Santa Claus had.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Damn thing to do.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Okay. So that's one. That's one that's me that you
- 40:14Speaker 1: burst wide open.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 40:17Speaker 7: Secondly, if you tag up your toy on Christmas? You
- 40:22Speaker 7: get your ass whooped on?
- 40:24Speaker 1: Chris?
- 40:24Speaker 5: What man? That it's a tradition.
- 40:29Speaker 9: That tradition standards.
- 40:32Speaker 4: Man, How I.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Had this lay away and you just broke it.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Yeah, he opened it at five and it's broken.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Ned.
- 40:48Speaker 2: I had a nephew named Pogo. All did every toy
- 40:52Speaker 2: he got.
- 40:53Speaker 5: He took it apart.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Wow, But then you know what he put it all
- 40:57Speaker 2: back together. That's all he wanted to do.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that's like girls, we used to take our
- 41:03Speaker 1: dolls clothes off.
- 41:05Speaker 5: Yeah, right now.
- 41:08Speaker 4: That's what you do.
- 41:09Speaker 10: He's a mechanic right now because see yeah, so that
- 41:12Speaker 10: was some good. But did he get in trouble for
- 41:14Speaker 10: doing it when.
- 41:14Speaker 5: He was a kid?
- 41:15Speaker 7: Dog because my daddy sought the toy toe up? But
- 41:20Speaker 7: he would ask though after the second year, is that
- 41:22Speaker 7: toy we'll leave alone?
- 41:24Speaker 3: There?
- 41:27Speaker 7: Oh?
- 41:27Speaker 1: He wasn't too mad, all right? What else? So so,
- 41:33Speaker 1: no Santa, but whoopings? If you broke your toys? What else?
- 41:39Speaker 10: These are some traditions, Steve, I want to hear some
- 41:42Speaker 10: of junior staff. I know, sounds like he got his butt.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Oh man. Absolutely.
- 41:48Speaker 1: One tradition was you going to bed at seven on Christmas?
- 41:52Speaker 1: Eve or Christmas Day on Christmas Eve. Oh, I could
- 41:55Speaker 1: never sleep on Christmas Eve. I could never do that.
- 41:58Speaker 9: Because Sannah was coming.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Oh what said it?
- 42:02Speaker 9: Don't show up till nine in the morning.
- 42:05Speaker 1: We gotta go back to.
- 42:06Speaker 2: B nine.
- 42:09Speaker 5: That we'll running late at y'all go.
- 42:12Speaker 9: Back in there and go back to Ben.
- 42:19Speaker 2: He ain't made it here yet, y'all go in there
- 42:21Speaker 2: and go.
- 42:21Speaker 9: Back to Bee.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Lien.
- 42:25Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 42:25Speaker 10: Coming up next, nephew's prank phone call right afterday he's

- 42:36Speaker 10: four minutes after. It's my strawberry letter for today, the
- 42:39Speaker 10: subject I am emotionally drained. We'll get into that in
- 42:44Speaker 10: just a few because right now the nephew is here
- 42:46Speaker 10: with today's prank phone call.
- 42:48Speaker 5: What you got for us?
- 42:49Speaker 4: Now?
- 42:49Speaker 5: Your husband's prescription?
- 42:52Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, the husband's you always for script with these people.
- 42:57Speaker 1: We got to listen.

- 43:48Speaker 3: know it's ready.
- 43:49Speaker 12: Okay, and what exactly did he get a prescription for him?

- 49:51Speaker 5: It could be Buckle up and hold on tight. We
- 49:53Speaker 5: got it for you here. It is to straw every.
- 49:55Speaker 10: Letter, subject I am emotionally drained. Just Stephen Shureley. I'm
- 50:00Speaker 10: a forty two year old single mother of a son
- 50:02Speaker 10: that is twenty years old. My son's girlfriend just had
- 50:06Speaker 10: a baby that is fair skinned, and they both are chocolate.
- 50:10Speaker 10: The girl is twenty one and a dancer at a
- 50:13Speaker 10: bar across town. She says she's not a stripper, but
- 50:16Speaker 10: that's all she says. My son is afraid to ask
- 50:19Speaker 10: the girl for a paternity test, so I did. When
- 50:22Speaker 10: my son went to visit the baby, she jumped on
- 50:25Speaker 10: him and then called me and said, if I keep
- 50:28Speaker 10: putting my son up to this foolishness, I would be next.
- 50:31Speaker 10: I called her mother, who happens to go to church
- 50:34Speaker 10: with me, and I told her that her daughter is disrespectful.
- 50:37Speaker 10: She was not happy about the phone call and asked
- 50:40Speaker 10: if we could talk in person, so I invited her over.
- 50:44Speaker 10: She pulled up and ran up to my door and
- 50:46Speaker 10: yelled for me to come outside. She jumped on me
- 50:49Speaker 10: when I got in the front yard. I'm not a fighter,
- 50:52Speaker 10: so we rolled around in the yard while I kept
- 50:54Speaker 10: begging her to stop pulling my hair. My neighbor broke
- 50:58Speaker 10: us up and I ran in. I called my son
- 51:01Speaker 10: and he called his girlfriend on a three way and
- 51:04Speaker 10: she said that I deserved to be beat up. I
- 51:07Speaker 10: reported the incident to the police, and they wouldn't come
- 51:10Speaker 10: out to do a report because it was between my
- 51:12Speaker 10: son and his girlfriend. I just don't want my son
- 51:15Speaker 10: to be caught up with a baby that isn't his.
- 51:18Speaker 10: I told my son that we'll just get the baby
- 51:20Speaker 10: one day and do a paternity test ourselves. Now it's
- 51:24Speaker 10: like my son is turning against me and telling me
- 51:26Speaker 10: to stay out of his business.
- 51:28Speaker 2: I got beat up for him, and this.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Is how he repays me.
- 51:32Speaker 10: It's emotionally draining, and I only want what's best for him.
- 51:36Speaker 10: Now he's planning to move in with this abusive woman
- 51:38Speaker 10: and ruin his life. Am I supposed to step aside
- 51:41Speaker 10: and let this girl and her mother make a fool
- 51:44Speaker 10: out of my son? What can I do to shake
- 51:47Speaker 10: some sense into him? Well, I don't know that there's
- 51:51Speaker 10: anything you can do. You know, much more than what
- 51:54Speaker 10: you've been doing right now, you know, unless you bring
- 51:57Speaker 10: his dad into it or something. But you already said
- 51:59Speaker 10: you're a single mother of this son. I know as
- 52:02Speaker 10: a mom this is hard, and it's going to continue
- 52:06Speaker 10: to be hard to watch your son get sucked in
- 52:08Speaker 10: like this, but that's exactly what you're going to have
- 52:11Speaker 10: to do. Step aside. You've tried everything, You've tried everything else.
- 52:15Speaker 10: Nothing has worked for you. So unless you want to
- 52:18Speaker 10: get another beat down from his crazy girlfriend and like
- 52:21Speaker 10: you say, her and her mother make a fool out
- 52:24Speaker 10: of you and all of that, you're going to have
- 52:26Speaker 10: to do just what they say.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Mind your own business.
- 52:28Speaker 10: At this point, we know you love your son and
- 52:31Speaker 10: you only want the best for him, that's quite obvious.
- 52:34Speaker 1: But right now the stripper is his world.
- 52:38Speaker 10: He's sprung, he's whipped all of the above, and he's
- 52:41Speaker 10: trying not to hear anything you his mom have to say.
- 52:45Speaker 10: And as much as this hurts, sometimes you just have
- 52:48Speaker 10: to let go and let people learn their lessons themselves,
- 52:52Speaker 10: because he's not listening right now to you. He's not
- 52:55Speaker 10: listening to what you have to say. Experience is always
- 52:59Speaker 10: the best teacher. Later on, if he finds out that
- 53:02Speaker 10: the baby's not his and he's being played by this girl,
- 53:05Speaker 10: I mean, so we don't even know that.
- 53:07Speaker 1: I mean, you know, he he might still want to
- 53:10Speaker 1: be with her, you know, that's the other thing.
- 53:12Speaker 10: He might still want to be with her and help
- 53:14Speaker 10: her raise the child, and yes, you could get the
- 53:18Speaker 10: baby and get the paternity test on your own. You
- 53:21Speaker 10: could do all of that, but you might lose your
- 53:23Speaker 10: son and the process. But you've lost him already to
- 53:27Speaker 10: this girl for right now anyway. So yeah, mom, I
- 53:31Speaker 10: think you've done all you can. And your son didn't
- 53:33Speaker 10: even defend you when his girlfriend beat you up, and
- 53:37Speaker 10: that's really messed up.
- 53:39Speaker 7: See, well, I read a different letter, seems like so.
- 53:46Speaker 7: I guess I always see some ignans. So so I
- 53:48Speaker 7: have a couple of questions. Nah, she's he mostly drained.
- 53:51Speaker 7: It's a forty two year old single mother's son is twenty.
- 53:55Speaker 7: Your son's girlfriend just had a baby that's fast skin,
- 53:58Speaker 7: and they both ought you chak. Now, listen, we all
- 54:03Speaker 7: know that, you know, through the chromosomes and all that stuff,
- 54:06Speaker 7: that you can skip a generation and look like a
- 54:10Speaker 7: grandmother or on or something and different colors. But we
- 54:13Speaker 7: got to look into this though, two chocolate people having
- 54:17Speaker 7: a light skinned baby.
- 54:19Speaker 2: We need to look into this. I understand the girl
- 54:23Speaker 2: is twenty one and a huh you don't add up on?
- 54:28Speaker 2: I know, we got to look into it.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Now.
- 54:29Speaker 2: This girl is twenty one and a dancer at a
- 54:32Speaker 2: bar across town. She says she's not a stripper. Let's
- 54:35Speaker 2: discuss this for a minute.
- 54:38Speaker 7: If you're a dancer at a bar, I think they
- 54:41Speaker 7: stopped go go dancing a long time ago.
- 54:46Speaker 2: You know where you be up in a cage on
- 54:48Speaker 2: the end of the bar. I think they stopped at
- 54:51Speaker 2: a long time ago.
- 54:54Speaker 7: So if you're a dancer at a bar in today's society,
- 54:59Speaker 7: you I said, take your clothes off, because I ain't
- 55:02Speaker 7: go go boots. I ain't seen him in stores no
- 55:05Speaker 7: more with the mini skirts, So I'm pretty show you
- 55:08Speaker 7: a stripper. My son is afraid to ask this girl
- 55:12Speaker 7: for a paternity test, so I did. Then, when your
- 55:16Speaker 7: son went to visit the baby, she jumped on him
- 55:18Speaker 7: and then called me and said, I keep putting my
- 55:20Speaker 7: son up to this foolishness. I would be next. Okay,
- 55:23Speaker 7: so she jumped on it. Okay, she's abusive. I called
- 55:28Speaker 7: her mother and to hit a good part, I called
- 55:29Speaker 7: his mother, who happened to go to church with me,
- 55:32Speaker 7: and I told her that her daughter is disrespectful. Now see,
- 55:35Speaker 7: listen to me. This is why I have a question,
- 55:39Speaker 7: because it could go two ways. After he called the lady,
- 55:42Speaker 7: she called the lady to go to church with her
- 55:45Speaker 7: and told her that her.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Daughter is disrespectful.
- 55:48Speaker 7: She was not happy about the phone call and asked
- 55:51Speaker 7: if we can talk in person, so I invited her over.
- 55:55Speaker 7: Now I'm thinking right here, she's talking about the girl's mother.
- 56:01Speaker 2: That's what I was thinking.
- 56:03Speaker 7: That she was talking about the girl's mother. She called
- 56:07Speaker 7: on the phone and talked to him person. So when
- 56:09Speaker 7: I come back, I'm gonna tell you what I think happened.
- 56:11Speaker 10: All right, we'll have part two of Steve's response coming
- 56:13Speaker 10: up twenty three minutes after Strawberry letter, subject I am
- 56:18Speaker 10: emotionally drained. We'll get back into it right after this.
- 56:23Speaker 1: You're listening hard Morning show. All right, Come on, Steve, let's.
- 56:27Speaker 10: Recap today's Strawberry letter, the subject I am emotionally drained.
- 56:32Speaker 7: All right, we got a forty two year old ladies,
- 56:34Speaker 7: got a twenty year old son that's dating a stripper
- 56:37Speaker 7: who says she's not a stripple, she's a dancer at
- 56:40Speaker 7: a ball. I don't know who keep their clothes on
- 56:43Speaker 7: anymore these days? Why they dancing in bars? But hell,
- 56:47Speaker 7: most of the women that go to balls is halfnked
- 56:49Speaker 7: when they get there.
- 56:51Speaker 2: So I already know.
- 56:52Speaker 7: If you are dancer, you got to be stripping anyway.
- 56:55Speaker 7: She says, she's not a stripper. Son is afraid to ask.
- 56:59Speaker 7: They had a life and both of them child. Your
- 57:02Speaker 7: son afraid to ask her the paternity test. So you
- 57:05Speaker 7: asked the girl for a paternity test. When your son
- 57:07Speaker 7: went over there to pick up the baby, the girl
- 57:09Speaker 7: jumped on him and said, couldn't letting your mama put
- 57:11Speaker 7: stuff like this in your head, And then told the mama,
- 57:14Speaker 7: if you keep interfeit.
- 57:15Speaker 2: In my business, you're gonna be next.
- 57:17Speaker 7: So the lady who's forty two called her mother, the
- 57:22Speaker 7: stripper's mama, who happens to go to church with me,
- 57:25Speaker 7: and I told her that her daughter's disrespectful. She was
- 57:29Speaker 7: not happy about the phone call and asked if we
- 57:31Speaker 7: can talk in person.
- 57:32Speaker 2: So I invited her over.
- 57:34Speaker 7: Now right here, I'm thinking this is all she's talking
- 57:37Speaker 7: to the stripper's mother.
- 57:39Speaker 2: She pulled up, ran to my door and yelled for
- 57:41Speaker 2: me to come outside.
- 57:44Speaker 10: Now.
- 57:44Speaker 2: If this is not the mother, if this is the stripper,
- 57:47Speaker 2: then we're dealing with the people.
- 57:48Speaker 7: That person that don't know how to tell stories, because
- 57:52Speaker 7: we have some information that's confusing.
- 57:58Speaker 5: No I think.
- 58:00Speaker 7: See, I'm thinking she's talking about the girl's mother according
- 58:03Speaker 7: to this letter so far, but then later on she
- 58:06Speaker 7: changes and it makes it sound like it was a
- 58:08Speaker 7: little girl that jumped on her. So I'm confused about
- 58:12Speaker 7: the lady writing a letter anyway, That's all I'm saying.
- 58:15Speaker 7: So when she came, she told you to yelling for
- 58:18Speaker 7: you to come outside. She jumped on me when I
- 58:20Speaker 7: got in the front yard. Now I'm not a fighter,
- 58:22Speaker 7: so we rolled around in the yard. Well, I kept
- 58:25Speaker 7: begging her to stop pulling my hair. Now, let me
- 58:27Speaker 7: teach you something, man. Begging is not a good fight technique.
- 58:34Speaker 7: It usually does not work out for the begar because
- 58:39Speaker 7: it empowers the person that's issueing the ass whipping. So
- 58:45Speaker 7: it's best not to empower then with please please stop
- 58:50Speaker 7: you kicking me. You whipping my ass too good? This
- 58:53Speaker 7: is about this is not what I do. I'm not
- 58:56Speaker 7: a fighter. So it makes them go harder because they, oh, yeah,
- 58:59Speaker 7: I'm not in the hands I know. So I would
- 59:02Speaker 7: just suggest that next time you get in the fight.
- 59:04Speaker 2: Please do not beg. It don't look good. It ain't
- 59:10Speaker 2: no need to beg. An ant take the ass whoop.
- 59:13Speaker 1: One of the other picks one.
- 59:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you.
- 59:18Speaker 7: Get your ass whoop and stop this begging quietly, not
- 59:23Speaker 7: finn do this to be shame me and bass me
- 59:26Speaker 7: and believe me, and be sure to be while you
- 59:28Speaker 7: beating my asss just make it look like you trying.
- 59:32Speaker 7: She got here too. She grabbing your hair, you grab
- 59:35Speaker 7: her hair. Anyway, my neighbor broke us up and I
- 59:40Speaker 7: ran inside. I called my son and he called his
- 59:43Speaker 7: girlfriend on the threeway and she said that I deserve
- 59:46Speaker 7: to be beat up.
- 59:47Speaker 2: See I'm thinking when she ran in the.
- 59:50Speaker 7: House and called her son, he called his girlfriend on
- 59:53Speaker 7: the three way and she said I deserve to be
- 59:55Speaker 7: beat up, which made me think it was the girl's
- 59:58Speaker 7: mama that was.
- 59:59Speaker 2: In the yard fight the whole time. Because we ran
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: in the house and got the.
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: Girl on the three way, the girl would have been
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: in the yard still fighting the mama.
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: See.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: So I reported the incident to the police, and.
- 1:00:10Speaker 7: They wouldn't come out to do a report because of
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: between my son and his girlfriend.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: This is another piece of important information.
- 1:00:17Speaker 7: Anytime you call the police and they don't come out
- 1:00:20Speaker 7: to handle a domestic dispute that was a fight.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: You must live deep, deep, deep, in the hood.
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: Because police have to come out to investigate any domestic violence,
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: especially if neighbors involved breaking up fight.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: So now we already know the police ain't coming. That's
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: a hood, thank you very much.
- 1:00:42Speaker 7: And then she says, and they wouldn't come out because
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: of between my son and his girlfriend.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: I just don't want son to be caught up with
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: a baby that isn't his. I understand that. I told
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: my son.
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: Would just get the baby one day and do the
- 1:00:55Speaker 7: paternity test ourselves. Now it's like my son is turning
- 1:00:58Speaker 7: against me and telling me to stay out.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: Of his business.
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: Well you should. I got beat up for him, and
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: this is how he repays me. No, you got beat
- 1:01:06Speaker 7: up because you went out the house. See when people
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: call you out, you said you're not a fighter. See
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: when people drive up to your house and say come outside.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Come out here, No, no, meet me in the front them.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: It's fighting words. Why did you take your non fighting
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: ass out there?
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: She would never think that the girl would jump on.
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: Her set with girl mama that go to her church,
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: whooped her ass. Shirley stops saying the girl that's what
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: I got. Now he's planning to move in with this
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: abusive woman and ruin his life. Am I supposed to
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: step aside and let this girl and her mother make
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: a fool out of myself? What can I do to
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: shake something?
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: First of all, to me explain some t. This is
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: not going to ruin your son's life. This is a
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: lesson that both of you. You're gonna have to let
- 1:01:53Speaker 7: him learn. Like Shirley said, the best lesson is a
- 1:01:56Speaker 7: bout lesson. You're gonna let him have to buy this way,
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: let him go move in with the girl. You be
- 1:02:04Speaker 7: a loving grandmother. When the baby come over, swab the
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: baby mouth, put the swab in a plastic bag and
- 1:02:12Speaker 7: get a damn DNA test.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Then when the result come back, don't say nothing, kill sir.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: Just leave.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Get copies of it and post it on Facebook. Let
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: the church many may man, Thank you for calling.

- 1:03:44Speaker 13: A lot of us will give cash. That's cool, and
- 1:03:47Speaker 13: a lot of us don't know what to buy. I
- 1:03:50Speaker 13: don't know what to buy, but I know.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: What not to buy.
- 1:03:53Speaker 13: I know what You shouldn't try to give a child
- 1:03:56Speaker 13: because they ain't gonna want it. If your ass is

- 1:04:18Speaker 13: know what the hell it is as soon as you
- 1:04:21Speaker 13: wrap that damn thing up.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: And they don't want it.
- 1:04:24Speaker 13: Okay, you can keep all these old ass board games, sorry,
- 1:04:29Speaker 13: Monopoly operation. Don't nobody want them damn games. Okay, think
- 1:04:36Speaker 13: about it. When the last time yo ass played Monopoly,
- 1:04:39Speaker 13: you ain't played a long damn time. Why would you
- 1:04:44Speaker 13: give it to the child and hear something very important?
- 1:04:48Speaker 13: Don't make a damn thing, don't make any And you're
- 1:04:53Speaker 13: knitting knit one pro two knit one pro two knit one.

- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Thick ass the mittons.
- 1:05:00Speaker 13: Don't nobody with that thick ass sweater and that stop

- 1:05:06Speaker 13: Don't nobody want that? Stop knitting, Stop right now. Don't
- 1:05:10Speaker 13: bake a damn thing to send those things. Don't hold
- 1:05:14Speaker 13: up in the mill. And last, but not leave. If
- 1:05:17Speaker 13: you're building a dollhouse, damn.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: It, stop it.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: You stop right now.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: You build a seven hundred pounds doll house, you ain't
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: got no floors in it.
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: The ceiling is like so high.
- 1:05:30Speaker 13: All you got is stuff down on the bottom, the
- 1:05:32Speaker 13: windows away at the top. Don't no child want that?
- 1:05:36Speaker 13: Stop building. Okay, these are my holiday tips. Don't build
- 1:05:41Speaker 13: a damn thing.
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: He's just a doghouse.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: That's what you're building, a damn doghouse. I'm done. I'm finished, all.
- 1:05:49Speaker 10: Right, thank you, Jay, Merry Christmas. You're listening Hard Morning
- 1:05:55Speaker 10: Show Rich on Facebook, Steve Hey, Steve. About two years ago,
- 1:06:03Speaker 10: my mom passed away and that was devastating for all
- 1:06:06Speaker 10: of us. Now, however, it sure looks like my pops
- 1:06:09Speaker 10: has bounced back as of late. He's been out and
- 1:06:12Speaker 10: about with a way younger, fine woman that can't be
- 1:06:16Speaker 10: more than twenty five years old at the age of
- 1:06:19Speaker 10: sixty eight. I can't blame my pops for shooting his
- 1:06:21Speaker 10: shot and scoring, and he's done pretty well taking care
- 1:06:25Speaker 10: of his money. All that said, Pop said he's bringing
- 1:06:28Speaker 10: over his new boot for Christmas. Now, my sisters are
- 1:06:32Speaker 10: not happy about her, and they said she is going
- 1:06:34Speaker 10: to blank around and find out.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: But I just want to keep you.
- 1:06:40Speaker 10: But I just want to keep the peace for Christmas.
- 1:06:43Speaker 10: And oh what gift should I give her?
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: Well, probably need to get a helmet.
- 1:06:52Speaker 14: Because the sister this big daddy proud though, now don't
- 1:06:57Speaker 14: hurt daddy finnis.
- 1:06:59Speaker 7: Well, don't care the girls. First of all, two problems
- 1:07:04Speaker 7: here you ain't they mama? And number two, why do
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: you want our daddy and you younger than us?
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: Sact they probably gonna be about the same age because
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: you know he's forty.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Three years older, so chances are these kids is older
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: than her.
- 1:07:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: The girl, she gonna feel.
- 1:07:26Speaker 14: The raft man, yeah, all the people his age is sick. Yeah,
- 1:07:32Speaker 14: he wants something.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: And what does she want with him?
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: His money?
- 1:07:37Speaker 7: M m yeah, because he's even have done good by
- 1:07:40Speaker 7: hisself and you know he probably kept himself in shape,
- 1:07:44Speaker 7: and you know he gonna bring the girl buy for Christmas.
- 1:07:47Speaker 7: Ain't nothing y'all can do about it.
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: They just gotta be yeah.
- 1:07:51Speaker 7: Yeah, but you're gonna mess up your relationship with your
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: father because you're gonna make him have to pick between
- 1:07:55Speaker 7: y'all and he gonna go with this young girl.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: Now m h ooh, all you got do his treat
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: a pleasant? Yeah?
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Yeah, just be kind.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: You do look like if you want to get a gift,
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: get us some get up.
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: What kind of.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: Well it's just.
- 1:08:21Speaker 7: Wonder woman. You don't get us some character. Give us
- 1:08:26Speaker 7: some sneakers with some lights on them. All right, some
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: fresh notebooks?
- 1:08:39Speaker 10: I think we might have time for one more. My
- 1:08:43Speaker 10: parents always encouraged me to work hard for what I wanted.
- 1:08:46Speaker 10: Over the weekend, my sister and I were talking about
- 1:08:48Speaker 10: Christmas plans and talking about tightened budgets for the holidays
- 1:08:52Speaker 10: when she blurted out, thank god Mom and Dad took
- 1:08:55Speaker 10: care of school for me. I was like, what, While,
- 1:08:58Speaker 10: I'm not hurting finance and am happy where I am
- 1:09:02Speaker 10: in life, but but come on, I worked my behind
- 1:09:06Speaker 10: off to go to college, got loans and and finally
- 1:09:09Speaker 10: close to paying them off, and my parents just paid
- 1:09:12Speaker 10: for my sister's college education. I'm mad about this, So,
- 1:09:15Speaker 10: Uncle Steve, I can't decide if it makes me angry
- 1:09:18Speaker 10: or hurts my feelings more.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Do I bring it up?
- 1:09:22Speaker 7: No, you don't have to bring it up. Your parents
- 1:09:24Speaker 7: knew that your sister wasn't you. If your parents treated
- 1:09:28Speaker 7: all their children equally and the same, your sister probably
- 1:09:31Speaker 7: wouldn't even be in college because your sister don't have
- 1:09:34Speaker 7: the same makeup that you have, and they recognize that,
- 1:09:37Speaker 7: And so they're paying for it. You know, just understand
- 1:09:41Speaker 7: and thank God that you are who you are, and
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: don't and don't and don't and and don't get mad
- 1:09:47Speaker 7: because your blessing is you. You had the skill set
- 1:09:49Speaker 7: in the mindset to do it. Now you're gonna block
- 1:09:51Speaker 7: your blessing by Hayden because she got because because they
- 1:09:54Speaker 7: paid for her.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: What so mm hmm, she is not you and that's
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: recognized it.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: They both have a college education. Yeah, that's the blessing too.
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: You know, you almost got these loans paid off and
- 1:10:13Speaker 7: you did it yourself. That's an accompanient. So instead of
- 1:10:16Speaker 7: being mad at your parents, be proud of yourself. Thank
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: God Daddy brought you through. Wow, so amazing how people
- 1:10:23Speaker 7: block the blessing by looking at Instead of looking at
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: what you have, you focus on what you don't have.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Yeah, good point.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: All right, great advice. Thank you, So don't bring it up. Please.
- 1:10:35Speaker 10: Coming up at twenty minutes after the hour, we'll have
- 1:10:37Speaker 10: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, so you
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: know winter weather.

- 1:10:57Speaker 10: Can leave your nose a little red, you know, if
- 1:10:59Speaker 10: you have the sniffles or a cough or whatever, you know,
- 1:11:02Speaker 10: a little red like Rudolph. But guess what Puffs lotion
- 1:11:06Speaker 10: provides soothing relief instead. How about that Puffs has lotion
- 1:11:11Speaker 10: to help soothe your blows and pillowy softness. I love
- 1:11:15Speaker 10: that pillowy softness to help rescue your nose.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: So when cold and.
- 1:11:19Speaker 10: Flu season give your nose the blues, make sure you
- 1:11:23Speaker 10: reach for Puffs Plus Lotion tissues, okay, because the nose
- 1:11:27Speaker 10: and need deserves Puffs. Indeed, it is sponsored by Puffs
- 1:11:32Speaker 10: plus Lotion Tissue. I know.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I like that pillowy softness. Yeah, it's so soft on
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: your nose. Yeah.
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: Can I put it on my elbows to like if
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: they ask you that I do.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Your elbows get cold and blues?
- 1:11:51Speaker 6: Hell?
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: But you know what else is good to allergy? Geez
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: allergies not just winter allergy. So huh that's a good look.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Thank you? Yeah, Hills, all right, thank you guys.
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: I'm a pillow type.

- 1:12:20Speaker 1: up next, we'll play around it. Would you rather right
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: after this? You're listening hard morning show, and it's time
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: now for a rounded. Would you rather?
- 1:12:31Speaker 10: Would you rather spend New Year's Eve without your phone
- 1:12:36Speaker 10: or without someone to kiss?
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: At midnight?
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Which one phone?
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: Had a phone?
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: What had you got somebody?
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: Uh?
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: I need to get it at twelve oh one?
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Yeah, in the New Year. See you didn't answer.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I need somebody. Don't care about that.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: That's so sweet.
- 1:13:03Speaker 7: That's what when you're in long flights, you know, I
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: don't ask the flight attendant do you have Wi Fi?
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: No?
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: Hell no? Nobody called me?
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: No?
- 1:13:12Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: Would you rather a real Christmas tree or an artificial one?
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: Real tree?
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: I love real tree?
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: What about you, guys Jr?
- 1:13:25Speaker 9: I ain't never had no real tree in my life.
- 1:13:27Speaker 9: I ain't get them.
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: Oh you always have fake?
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: Yes, but they're pretty right.
- 1:13:36Speaker 8: Made it feel like it was real. He said he
- 1:13:38Speaker 8: bought it. It was real when he bought it, so
- 1:13:41Speaker 8: definitely told me. Yeah, I didn't play that, but high.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: High some fake tree? What is you looking at?
- 1:13:53Speaker 10: Right?
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: You think that tree in your imagination?
- 1:13:58Speaker 5: All right?
- 1:13:59Speaker 10: When you your spouse is leaving the house, would you
- 1:14:02Speaker 10: rather be kissed goodbye or left to sleep?
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Which one? When she's leaving?
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: If I'm sleep you want her to. It's gonna do
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: what you got to do. I kiss you.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Oh, don't wake you with me.
- 1:14:17Speaker 9: I'm not gonna say nothing. I recuse myself from this question.
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: Trial.
- 1:14:23Speaker 9: So I heard Steve said yesterday. I recuse myself.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Yeah, what you rather?
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:14:30Speaker 9: Yes, I can I help people listening? Oh no, I'm
- 1:14:33Speaker 9: not gonna say what I'd rather do?
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: No, you rather? It's just simple. Would you rather for
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: her to let you sleep? Or I rather let me sleep?
- 1:14:41Speaker 9: But she wakes me up every morning? Kiss me when
- 1:14:43Speaker 9: she's going to work?
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: All right?
- 1:14:48Speaker 10: Would you rather know what you're gonna get for Christmas?
- 1:14:51Speaker 10: Or would you rather be surprised.
- 1:14:53Speaker 5: I'm not gonna get a damn pint.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: Surprise surprise, that's your surprise.
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: I don't wake me up for that either.
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: You think I didn't know that bike was wrapped? Ask
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: me what I want so I don't be hurt? Yeah, exactly,
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: it's real simple. What I want?
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: What do you want? What you want?
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: Well?
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Watch you all?
- 1:15:23Speaker 7: I want your watch different though, don't give me no watch. Well,
- 1:15:31Speaker 7: Margie know what to do, though she ain't never missed.
- 1:15:36Speaker 7: She do too much stuff.
- 1:15:37Speaker 10: Sometimes I'll be ahead, all right, Thanks, guys. That's today's rounded.
- 1:15:42Speaker 10: Would you rather coming up in forty nine minutes after?
- 1:15:44Speaker 10: It's our last break and we'll close out the show
- 1:15:46Speaker 10: with the one and only Steve Harvey right after this.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: You're listening Harvey Morning Show. All right, here we are, guys,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: last break of the day on this Tuesday. Steve, you
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: have some closing remarks.
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: I know you do.
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: Yeah, you know.
- 1:16:02Speaker 7: I want to remind everybody of something that God created
- 1:16:06Speaker 7: us all for greatness. All of us were created in
- 1:16:12Speaker 7: his likeness. All of us were created to be an
- 1:16:17Speaker 7: example of what God can do in people's lives.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: We were all created for this.
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: What happens along the way is we make decisions because
- 1:16:26Speaker 7: God gave us the power of choice, we make decisions
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: that people as people that counter act what God really
- 1:16:34Speaker 7: intended for us.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: And one of the reasons we counteract.
- 1:16:37Speaker 7: What God intended for us is because the devil's main
- 1:16:40Speaker 7: job the opposition is to not allow you to reach
- 1:16:44Speaker 7: your potential. See, the devil don't ever want you to
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: reach your potential, because then he'll have another child of
- 1:16:50Speaker 7: God out there spreading the word and showing off and
- 1:16:53Speaker 7: be an example of what light can do and what
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: love can do, and what the power of prayer can do.
- 1:16:59Speaker 7: So his job to make each and every one of
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: us fall by the wayside. That's his constant mission in life.
- 1:17:05Speaker 7: To make us think we're not worthy, to make us
- 1:17:08Speaker 7: think we can't, to make us think it ain't possible,
- 1:17:11Speaker 7: to make us look at our environment, to make us
- 1:17:14Speaker 7: feel like, well, it's because I'm this, I.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Can't be that. Ain't none of that true? None of
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: that is true.
- 1:17:22Speaker 7: I bought a book the other day by Joel Oldstein
- 1:17:26Speaker 7: because I was listening to him over the weekend and
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: he since this.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: He was talking about his new book called Next Level Thinking,
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: and I bought the book.
- 1:17:36Speaker 7: And because I constantly try to reinforce myself. As successful
- 1:17:42Speaker 7: as you may think I am, I still have a
- 1:17:44Speaker 7: ways to go and I will always try to improve myself.
- 1:17:49Speaker 7: And people like Joel Olstein, Bishop Jake's, Bishop Almah, Bishop
- 1:17:53Speaker 7: Getty's down there in North Carolina. My boy, you know,
- 1:17:56Speaker 7: it's a lot Charles Jenkins up in Chicago. It's a
- 1:18:00Speaker 7: lot of dudes. Man that called me to make sure
- 1:18:03Speaker 7: I'm okay. Check in on me, Tyler, check in on me,
- 1:18:07Speaker 7: Doctor Phil, check in on me. I got a lot
- 1:18:11Speaker 7: of people check in on me, man, make sure I'm okay.
- 1:18:15Speaker 7: I was reading his book because it's just I just
- 1:18:21Speaker 7: needed some more information. And one of the things I
- 1:18:25Speaker 7: had learned from his book in the first chapter, the
- 1:18:30Speaker 7: title of his chapter is be a barrier Breaker. Be
- 1:18:34Speaker 7: a barrier Breaker, And throughout the book it just talks
- 1:18:36Speaker 7: about your surroundings, your environment. That because you're from a
- 1:18:40Speaker 7: family where ain't nobody never made it out, don't mean
- 1:18:43Speaker 7: that you have to not be one of them, that
- 1:18:45Speaker 7: you have to be one of those and not make
- 1:18:47Speaker 7: it out. Because you come from a hood that don't
- 1:18:49Speaker 7: have a whole lot of millionaires made from that hood.
- 1:18:52Speaker 7: That don't mean that you can't be a barrier breaker
- 1:18:54Speaker 7: and be one of the millionaires from the hood. Just
- 1:18:57Speaker 7: because nobody on your block ever went to college, don't
- 1:18:59Speaker 7: mean you be the first world. Maybe nobody in your
- 1:19:02Speaker 7: family ever went to school, you're the first world.
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: Maybe nobody in.
- 1:19:05Speaker 7: Your family ever became a supervisor at a post office
- 1:19:08Speaker 7: or the FedEx or UPS or anyplace else. Don't mean
- 1:19:13Speaker 7: that you can't You can become a barrier breaker. But
- 1:19:18Speaker 7: see what a lot of us do is we get
- 1:19:22Speaker 7: so immersed in our environment that we adapt to our environment,
- 1:19:27Speaker 7: and we must we act like this is it?
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: Well, if God had wanted me to be rich, I'd
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: have been born rich.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: What what did you say?
- 1:19:35Speaker 7: I heard of God say that if God had wanted
- 1:19:38Speaker 7: me to be rich, I would have been born rich.
- 1:19:41Speaker 7: So let me ask you something, brother, all these people
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: that have gone from poverty to richest, what was their
- 1:19:48Speaker 7: excuse or what mindset that they use to become a
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: barrier breaker, to break the barrier of poverty to become
- 1:19:58Speaker 7: well off. I chose to be a barrier breaker. I
- 1:20:03Speaker 7: knew what my family was. I loved my family dearly
- 1:20:06Speaker 7: and still do. But what my family had I didn't want.
- 1:20:12Speaker 7: As much as I loved my mother.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: And father, what my father was and how hard I
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: saw him.
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: Work, I didn't want that. I wanted something else. Now,
- 1:20:21Speaker 7: do I appreciate the work after Keith put in me?
- 1:20:24Speaker 7: Most certainly do that I appreciate the faith and the
- 1:20:27Speaker 7: fear of God that my mama put in me, or
- 1:20:29Speaker 7: I most certainly do. But I didn't want to be
- 1:20:33Speaker 7: the one sitting at the church on the usher board.
- 1:20:36Speaker 7: I didn't want that. I didn't want to work as
- 1:20:39Speaker 7: hard as my father and make the same money as
- 1:20:41Speaker 7: my father. I wanted to something else. I wanted to
- 1:20:44Speaker 7: be a barrier breaker. A barrier breaker. And one of
- 1:20:48Speaker 7: the things he talked about in the book is that
- 1:20:52Speaker 7: so often we let our environment and how we were
- 1:20:54Speaker 7: raised and other people's expectation of us set limits in
- 1:20:59Speaker 7: our life. He was saying that we adapt to what's
- 1:21:04Speaker 7: around us. So what he said in the book I
- 1:21:07Speaker 7: wanted to share with you all.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: In the book, he.
- 1:21:10Speaker 7: Said that if you take an oak tree seed, the
- 1:21:16Speaker 7: seed of an oak tree, and you plant this seed
- 1:21:19Speaker 7: from this oak tree in a two foot pot, that
- 1:21:24Speaker 7: oak tree will never become what it.
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: Was created to be if you leave it in that pot,
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: not because there's.
- 1:21:32Speaker 7: Something wrong with the seed, but because of the environment
- 1:21:36Speaker 7: is in. Did you hear what I just said. There
- 1:21:41Speaker 7: is nothing wrong with you. The problem is your environment.
- 1:21:47Speaker 7: If you stay in the environment, you'll never grow. But
- 1:21:50Speaker 7: you can choose to become a barrier breaker and get
- 1:21:53Speaker 7: out of any environment that you in. You can escape poverty,
- 1:21:57Speaker 7: you can escape the hood, you can escape bad thinking people,
- 1:22:01Speaker 7: you can escape the dope game.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: You can become non addicted to drugs.
- 1:22:06Speaker 7: You can stop being an alcoholic, you can stop with
- 1:22:09Speaker 7: God's help.
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: If you take an.
- 1:22:11Speaker 7: Oak tree seed and you plant it in a two
- 1:22:13Speaker 7: foot pot, that tree will never become what it was
- 1:22:15Speaker 7: created to be if you leave it in the pot,
- 1:22:17Speaker 7: not because there's something wrong with the seed, but because
- 1:22:20Speaker 7: of the environment is in. You got to change your environment.
- 1:22:23Speaker 7: You fine, you got to see you got everything you
- 1:22:25Speaker 7: need to grow?
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: You did?
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: Those are my closing room.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: Drop it, baby, drop it.
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: Yes, sir, get out that environment.
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: Man.
