- 0:01Speaker 1: Democrats say that they care a lot about lowering healthcare costs.
- 0:05Speaker 1: They talk about doing something, they don't actually do the
- 0:08Speaker 1: hard work of making it happen. What they have done
- 0:10Speaker 1: instead is to shut down the government because we won't
- 0:12Speaker 1: give billions of dollars to health care funding for legal aliens.
- 0:15Speaker 2: That is what is actually happening. You're listening to the
- 0:18Speaker 2: forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Good Thursday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:22Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update. And there's one big story.
- 0:25Speaker 3: It's the government shutdown, but the politics behind it, well,
- 0:28Speaker 3: Democrats are really lying now talking about how this is
- 0:32Speaker 3: somehow the Trump shut down. They're also now lying about
- 0:36Speaker 3: their demands for that one point five trillion and government waste.
- 0:41Speaker 3: So what's happening at this moment. We've got the update
- 0:44Speaker 3: with everything you need to know, but before I get
- 0:47Speaker 3: to that, I want to talk to you about my
- 0:49Speaker 3: friends at kirk Elliott Precious Metals. Two days ago, I
- 0:53Speaker 3: got my new order of silver. Now I'm investing in
- 0:56Speaker 3: silver right now because the pricing on it is amazing
- 1:00Speaker 3: and the upside well it's real. I actually have a
- 1:03Speaker 3: one hundred ounce silver bar. It is actually really cool.
- 1:08Speaker 3: It's really heavy because it's one hundred ounces. But I
- 1:12Speaker 3: also know that I bought it at the right price
- 1:15Speaker 3: and I wasn't paying massive up charges on quote, rare
- 1:18Speaker 3: or special coins, and then when you go to sell them,
- 1:21Speaker 3: you take away all of your earning potential. Why do
- 1:25Speaker 3: they do it this way at Kurt Elliott because they
- 1:27Speaker 3: have transparent pricing up front. It's very simple. You pay
- 1:32Speaker 3: eight percent when you buy, and here's what matters to
- 1:35Speaker 3: you the most, nothing when you sell. There are no
- 1:39Speaker 3: hidden fees ever with Kurt Elliott Precious Metals. This is
- 1:43Speaker 3: the reason why I recommend them. It's not just about investing,
- 1:48Speaker 3: it's about making sure you get more for your money.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And that is exactly why Kurt Elliott helps people all
- 1:54Speaker 3: the time. Whether it's gold or silver, you can hold it,
- 1:58Speaker 3: be a good steward of it, you can pass it
- 1:59Speaker 3: on to future generations, and you can build wealth with it.

- 3:02Speaker 3: com slash Ben. It's the forty seven Morning Update and
- 3:05Speaker 3: it starts.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Right now story number one.
- 3:08Speaker 3: With a federal government partial shutdown, there is an opportunity
- 3:13Speaker 3: for Donald Trump to do exactly what he promised during
- 3:16Speaker 3: the campaign to get rid of waste, fraud, and abuse
- 3:21Speaker 3: of your tax hours. Trump is now signaling layoffs and
- 3:25Speaker 3: spending cuts that could become permanent. So yes, this shutdown
- 3:31Speaker 3: could be a massive blessing in disguise for every American taxpayer.
- 3:36Speaker 3: The federal government entering a partial shutdown early Wednesday because
- 3:41Speaker 3: of Democrats on purpose failed to reach an agreement on
- 3:45Speaker 3: a funding package, a clean cr and President Trump suggests
- 3:49Speaker 3: that the standoff could open the door, he says for
- 3:52Speaker 3: big changes in the federal workforce. Senate lawmakers miss the
- 3:58Speaker 3: deadline at midnight to approve a very simple budget for
- 4:02Speaker 3: the fiscal year twenty twenty five. According now to Fox News,
- 4:07Speaker 3: the short term funding extension that passed the House earlier
- 4:10Speaker 3: in September, keeping the government running through November the twenty firth,
- 4:13Speaker 3: but bipartison talks collapse when the Democrats said, no, we
- 4:17Speaker 3: want to hold you hostage and we demand that you
- 4:20Speaker 3: spend on things like healthcare for illegal immigrants. Now, in
- 4:24Speaker 3: the hours leading up to the shutdown, President Trump made
- 4:27Speaker 3: it very clear that while he did not want the
- 4:30Speaker 3: government to close, he saw opportunities quote unquote in the crisis, saying, quote,
- 4:36Speaker 3: we don't want it to shut down because we have
- 4:38Speaker 3: the greatest period of time ever. I tell you, we
- 4:42Speaker 3: have seventeen trillion being invested. So the last person that
- 4:46Speaker 3: wanted to shut down is us. He then added, Now,
- 4:50Speaker 3: with that being said, we can do things during the
- 4:52Speaker 3: shutdown that are irreversible that are bad for them referring
- 4:57Speaker 3: to Democrats, and irreversible by them by cutting vast numbers
- 5:01Speaker 3: of people out, cutting things that they like, cutting programs
- 5:06Speaker 3: that they like, referring to the Democrats. Now, Trump has
- 5:10Speaker 3: repeatedly warned and pushed to reduce the size of government
- 5:14Speaker 3: and slash federal programs. He says that waste your tax dollars.
- 5:19Speaker 3: A shutdown does not grant new powers to the White House,
- 5:23Speaker 3: but it does give the executive branch wide discretion over
- 5:28Speaker 3: what services continue to operate. The standoff has turned into
- 5:33Speaker 3: a battle of blame, Democrats going to TV saying this
- 5:36Speaker 3: is all Trump's fault. But the problem is some Democrats
- 5:41Speaker 3: didn't get the memo to lie. They told the truth
- 5:44Speaker 3: that they are in fact shutting down the government. Democrats
- 5:48Speaker 3: can accuse Republicans all they want of hijacking the process
- 5:52Speaker 3: and falsely lying claiming that they want to provide taxpayer
- 5:56Speaker 3: funded health benefits only for Americans, when it's in black
- 5:59Speaker 3: and white, they wanted taxpayer funded health benefits for all
- 6:03Speaker 3: illegal immigrants. Chuck Schumer said Tuesday, quote, they say that
- 6:08Speaker 3: undocumented people are going to get these credits. That is
- 6:12Speaker 3: absolutely false. This is one of the big lies that
- 6:15Speaker 3: they're telling you. Well, you look at the Office of
- 6:19Speaker 3: Budget Management and they made it very clear. The Democrats
- 6:23Speaker 3: are spending massive amounts of money if they got their
- 6:26Speaker 3: way on illegal immigrant healthcare. Which brings me to Speaker
- 6:31Speaker 3: Johnson on the government shut down, going back and reminding
- 6:34Speaker 3: the American people of what really happened and said the
- 6:38Speaker 3: lies the Democrats and many in the media are telling.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Take a list of the speaker on Fox News.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Members, then it's going to be hard to get this resolved.
- 6:48Speaker 4: All along Republicans wanted to shut the government down.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Well, we do have the House Speaker with us here
- 6:55Speaker 5: in the studio tonight. Let's welcome in Mike Johsed Luisiana.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Good to see you, so thank you for the time.
- 7:00Speaker 5: I know that you have been very busy.
- 7:02Speaker 6: Today, busy day. Those clips are hilarious to me. The
- 7:05Speaker 6: House did its job. The House Republicans did our job.
- 7:08Speaker 6: It's spent over two weeks. We passed that continued resolution.
- 7:11Speaker 6: It's clean, it's simple, it's twenty four pages in length.
- 7:14Speaker 6: We were simply trying to buy time, and this is
- 7:17Speaker 6: really important for everybody to remember. John the reason we're
- 7:19Speaker 6: doing this is that the appropriators are trying to rebuild
- 7:22Speaker 6: the muscle memory to do appropriations, to spend taxpayer dollars responsibly.
- 7:27Speaker 6: And that takes twelve separate approach bills. We were doing that,
- 7:29Speaker 6: working through the process. We ran out of time. We
- 7:32Speaker 6: need seven more weeks, so we put a clean CR
- 7:34Speaker 6: on the table, assuming that everybody, all the Democrats, would
- 7:37Speaker 6: do the right thing. They've rejected it now three times
- 7:39Speaker 6: as of today, the Senate Democrats, forty four of them
- 7:42Speaker 6: have voted that CR, the clean CR down and they
- 7:45Speaker 6: proposed Chuck Schumer's version, which is a dirty CR. Why
- 7:48Speaker 6: do we say that because he wants to add one
- 7:50Speaker 6: point five trillion dollars in new spending to a seven
- 7:53Speaker 6: week stopgap measure, and they want to give healthcare to
- 7:56Speaker 6: illegal aliens, claw back the funds that we put in
- 7:58Speaker 6: for rural hospitals, and all sorts of other mayhem that
- 8:01Speaker 6: we can't do that. We're just not going to do it.
- 8:03Speaker 3: You listen to Speaker Johnson. The House Republicans did our
- 8:06Speaker 3: job passing the CR over two weeks ago, simply trying
- 8:10Speaker 3: to buy time. The appropriators are trying to rebuild the
- 8:14Speaker 3: muscle memory to do appropriations to spend taxpayers dollars responsively
- 8:19Speaker 3: instead of irrationally and radical, which is what the Democrats wanted.
- 8:24Speaker 3: And here is what the Speaker had to say about
- 8:26Speaker 3: some of the money, including healthcare for illegals.
- 8:29Speaker 6: That we're just not going to do it.
- 8:30Speaker 5: So this is the real point of contention here. I mean,
- 8:33Speaker 5: obviously they want to restore some of the cuts that
- 8:35Speaker 5: were enacted in the Big Beautiful Bill when it comes
- 8:37Speaker 5: to Medicaid funding, et cetera. But Democrats insist our bill
- 8:41Speaker 5: does not provide federal dollars for health care for illegal immigrants.
- 8:45Speaker 6: And you say, what I say, they obviously have not
- 8:48Speaker 6: read their bill. This counterproposal that he filed. Everybody can
- 8:51Speaker 6: google it, go pull it up. It's on the Senate's website,
- 8:53Speaker 6: and in the legislative text. Go to page fifty seven
- 8:57Speaker 6: of Chuck Schimmer's bill and look at section twenty one
- 8:59Speaker 6: forty one. It says right there, in plain language, they
- 9:02Speaker 6: want to repeal the health provisions of the one, Big
- 9:04Speaker 6: Beautiful Bill.
- 9:06Speaker 5: I do part ways with you here on this idea
- 9:09Speaker 5: of plain language. Oh, I read that whole section. It
- 9:12Speaker 5: might as well be written in Mandarin.
- 9:14Speaker 6: And that's probably why the Democrats don't understand what they filed.
- 9:17Speaker 6: But if you interpret that and you get through all
- 9:19Speaker 6: the subsections, what you realize is they're trying to take
- 9:22Speaker 6: out in its entirety the reforms that we put into
- 9:25Speaker 6: the big beautiful bill pretending to health. And why is
- 9:28Speaker 6: that so important, Because what we did was we strengthened
- 9:31Speaker 6: the Medicaid program by making sure that ineligible recipients are
- 9:35Speaker 6: not on the rolls. The CBO, the Congressional Budget Office,
- 9:38Speaker 6: on August twenty fifth, published a letter and they said,
- 9:41Speaker 6: this is going to do exactly what Republicans said. They
- 9:43Speaker 6: estimate the two point three million illegal recipients for Medicaid
- 9:48Speaker 6: will be pushed off the roles because of our reforms,
- 9:50Speaker 6: and then it's going to say one hundred and eighty
- 9:52Speaker 6: five billion dollars of taxpayer funds. So they want to
- 9:55Speaker 6: return all those ineligible people back to the roles. And
- 9:58Speaker 6: many of them are illegal aliens. Is a fact, and
- 10:01Speaker 6: anybody who looks at it objectively has to say it's true.
- 10:03Speaker 3: I love how calm the speaker is on this. He's
- 10:08Speaker 3: trying to make it clear that this is all about
- 10:12Speaker 3: the Democrats trying to slander and attack the Republicans doing
- 10:17Speaker 3: the responsible thing. Just to put it in perspective, there
- 10:21Speaker 3: were seventeen different times the Republicans did not shut down
- 10:26Speaker 3: the government when they had an opportunity to do it,
- 10:29Speaker 3: and instead went for a continuing resolution to make sure
- 10:33Speaker 3: the government was open when the guy by the name
- 10:38Speaker 3: of Joe Biden was President of the United States of America.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Because Republicans understood that shutdowns are bad for the economy.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Republicans understood that it was their job to protect the
- 10:51Speaker 3: American people and also make sure that our government was
- 10:55Speaker 3: functioning the right way.
- 10:58Speaker 4: The Democrats shut down the government because President Trump and
- 11:01Speaker 4: the Republicans will not force American taxpayers to pay for
- 11:04Speaker 4: free healthcare for illegal aliens. America is thirty seven trillion
- 11:09Speaker 4: dollars in debt. We cannot afford to provide taxpayer funded
- 11:13Speaker 4: free healthcare to illegals who broke the law to enter
- 11:16Speaker 4: our country.
- 11:17Speaker 3: That is exactly why so many Americans decided to vote
- 11:22Speaker 3: for Donald Trump.
