- 0:00Speaker 1: But I agree, when you're talking about twenty six feet
- 0:03Speaker 1: of water in forty five minutes, there is simply no way.
- 0:07Speaker 2: To prepare for that. It is a tragedy.
- 0:09Speaker 3: In those politicizing it ought to be ashamed of themselves
- 0:12Speaker 3: and Joe again, we cannot tame Mother Nature at all.
- 0:16Speaker 3: This is a forty seven Morning Update special edition with
- 0:19Speaker 3: Ben ferguson.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Good Tuesday morning. It is nice to have you with
- 0:23Speaker 1: us on the forty seven Morning Update. Is it is
- 0:25Speaker 1: a tough morning, a sad morning, as we look at
- 0:28Speaker 1: the horrific flooding and the loss of life in Texas.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I'm going to give you personal details of what has
- 0:34Speaker 1: happened and give you the full story of exactly what
- 0:37Speaker 1: the left is now trying to do and use this
- 0:40Speaker 1: tragedy to push their own climate agenda and also blaming
- 0:44Speaker 1: Donald Trump. Will give you the details on that in
- 0:47Speaker 1: the moment. It's the forty seven Morning Update and it
- 0:49Speaker 1: starts right now.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I want to first start by saying that this is
- 0:54Speaker 1: a very tough show to do this morning.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I know people that have lost loved ones.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I know people that are going to funerals over the
- 1:06Speaker 1: next couple days who lost their children at camp right
- 1:11Speaker 1: there on the Guadawaalupe River where the flooding happened. I
- 1:15Speaker 1: know this area because it is where my family goes
- 1:19Speaker 1: to spend time throughout the year, right there in Kerrville.
- 1:23Speaker 1: It is an area that I know incredibly well, as
- 1:25Speaker 1: I've spent days and days there with my family. The
- 1:30Speaker 1: thought of having to deal with the flooding and the
- 1:32Speaker 1: way that it happened there, I want you to understand,
- 1:35Speaker 1: no one could prepare for what I would describe as
- 1:38Speaker 1: a once in a lifetime, one hundred year flood. There
- 1:42Speaker 1: are many in the left and in the media that
- 1:44Speaker 1: are trying to politicize this to attack Donald Trump and
- 1:48Speaker 1: say that the National Weather Service had cuts and staff
- 1:52Speaker 1: and that's the reason why people died. There are others
- 1:55Speaker 1: that's saying the disaster response was all Donald Trump's fault
- 1:58Speaker 1: because of cut Both of these are absolute lies. You
- 2:03Speaker 1: also need to understand in Kerrville, in this area where
- 2:07Speaker 1: the flooding happened and the loss of life happened, this
- 2:10Speaker 1: is an area that when it rains, the water is
- 2:12Speaker 1: not really absorbed into the ground like in most parts
- 2:16Speaker 1: of the country. If it rains at my house, significantly.
- 2:19Speaker 1: The water goes into the ground, but there is so
- 2:22Speaker 1: much rock and Curveville in that area that you get
- 2:25Speaker 1: these flash floods because the water builds up instantly and
- 2:28Speaker 1: starts to flood the area. It's also an area where
- 2:31Speaker 1: they don't actually receive that much rain. They can go
- 2:34Speaker 1: hundreds of days without seeing rain. This is an area
- 2:40Speaker 1: that is rural. It is a town that is so kind.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It is a group of people that are incredibly welcoming.
- 2:49Speaker 1: And you may not realize, but Curveville was the same
- 2:52Speaker 1: place where this strategy took happened, that was considered one
- 2:55Speaker 1: of the best places to see the total eclipse. Just
- 2:58Speaker 1: a little over a year ago, more than a million
- 3:01Speaker 1: people went to the hill country, Kerrville being the epicenter
- 3:05Speaker 1: of the blackout. That's where I was when the blackout happened,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and it was truly incredible to see the people there
- 3:12Speaker 1: were so welcoming, to people that drove in and flew
- 3:14Speaker 1: in from all over the country. But to watch and
- 3:17Speaker 1: to witness what has happened since then by the left
- 3:21Speaker 1: is truly just disgusting. I want to go through some
- 3:25Speaker 1: of the lies for you so that you understand exactly
- 3:28Speaker 1: what the truth is. For example, the left is saying
- 3:31Speaker 1: that the National Weather Service didn't have the staffing that
- 3:33Speaker 1: needed because it had been cut by Donald Trump.
- 3:36Speaker 2: That is a lie, and.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I hope you'll take this show and share it everywhere
- 3:41Speaker 1: that you can. We now know that meteorologists had argued
- 3:44Speaker 1: that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration known as NOAA
- 3:49Speaker 1: and the National Weather Service did their jobs well during
- 3:53Speaker 1: the devastating Texas flash floods. In fact, they even had
- 3:57Speaker 1: quote unquote extra staff on hand for the storm, despite Democrats'
- 4:03Speaker 1: claims that the Trump administration cut the agencies, contributing to
- 4:08Speaker 1: the loss of life over the holiday weekend. They were
- 4:11Speaker 1: trying to score political points, trying to go after Donald
- 4:14Speaker 1: Trump and conservatives. Even establishment media outlets ran with this lie.
- 4:20Speaker 1: The Associated Press reported on the weather community's pushback on
- 4:25Speaker 1: the narrative, while the Democratic National Committee actually sent out
- 4:28Speaker 1: memos arguing that the Trump administration quote refused to backfill
- 4:34Speaker 1: key roles, likely contributing to preventable deaths and worsened devastation.
- 4:40Speaker 2: All of it a lie.
- 4:41Speaker 1: The Associated Press, for example, cited the NWS meteorologists Jason Runyon,
- 4:48Speaker 1: who said the agency's office in New Bronzevills that serves Austin,
- 4:52Speaker 1: Santoni and the surrounding areas in fact had more people
- 4:55Speaker 1: on duty than normal just before the flash floods occurred
- 4:58Speaker 1: before sunrise on front, saying this, there were extra people
- 5:03Speaker 1: in here that night, and that's typical in every Weather
- 5:06Speaker 1: Service office. You staff up for an event and bring
- 5:09Speaker 1: people in on overtime and you hold people over, explaining
- 5:13Speaker 1: that the office head up to five people on staff
- 5:15Speaker 1: when they would typically have two. Not only did the
- 5:19Speaker 1: National Weather Service also issue a series of flash flood
- 5:23Speaker 1: warnings in the early hours Friday, before issuing flash flood
- 5:27Speaker 1: emergencies a rare alert notifying of immediate danger, this according
- 5:32Speaker 1: to the AP, but they also put out the initial
- 5:35Speaker 1: floodwatch at one eighteen pm the day before, yet again
- 5:40Speaker 1: showing how much the left is willing to lie and
- 5:43Speaker 1: no matter who's affected, including children that are dying, just
- 5:47Speaker 1: to score political points. What you also need to know
- 5:50Speaker 1: is the notices grew increasingly in the early morning hours
- 5:53Speaker 1: of Friday, culminating in a four h three am warning
- 5:57Speaker 1: for the potential of catastrophic damage and a severe threat
- 6:01Speaker 1: to human life.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Again, another warning going out.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Notice an outlet that the characterized the National Weather Service
- 6:08Speaker 1: staffing cuts as quote unquote aggressive moves by the Trump administration.
- 6:13Speaker 1: EVE report that the agency quote did have ex ra
- 6:15Speaker 1: staff on hand for the storm. Yet again, more lies
- 6:20Speaker 1: by the left. At the River Forecast Center, we usually
- 6:24Speaker 1: close overnight unless there is a flood threat. We identified
- 6:28Speaker 1: the threat and we increased overnight coverage, and we're staffed
- 6:32Speaker 1: twenty four during this event, is what Greg Waller, the
- 6:36Speaker 1: service coordination hydrologists at the National Weather Service West Gulf
- 6:40Speaker 1: River Forecast Center said. As well, the Austin, San Antonio
- 6:44Speaker 1: and San Angelo offices had also beefed up their staffing
- 6:48Speaker 1: prior to the storm. Some of the areas hit by
- 6:52Speaker 1: the flash floods, like the grounds occupied by Camp Mystic
- 6:55Speaker 1: and Kerr County, may have been impacted by spotty cell service.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Is unclear if everyone who needed to evacuate actually received
- 7:03Speaker 1: the alerts on their phone that went out, while are
- 7:05Speaker 1: added in a statement to the Texas Tribune, we had
- 7:08Speaker 1: adequate staffing, we had adequate technology.
- 7:11Speaker 2: This was us doing our jobs the best of our ability. Now.
- 7:15Speaker 1: They also reported that the National Weather Service forecast quote
- 7:18Speaker 1: did not definitively state the record breaking rains that were
- 7:22Speaker 1: going to fall that night. That is what a former
- 7:25Speaker 1: agency official told the outlet. That the forecast was abou
- 7:27Speaker 1: as good as could be reasonably expected based on the
- 7:31Speaker 1: math that they had on hand. Bottom line, we all
- 7:34Speaker 1: need to work towards an improved alert system, the former
- 7:38Speaker 1: official added. It's pretty hard to forecast these kinds of
- 7:41Speaker 1: rainfall rates. Is what a former National Weather Service director
- 7:45Speaker 1: told The New York Times and the Kirk County Judge
- 7:48Speaker 1: Rob Kelly, whose own property was among those damage, said quote,
- 7:52Speaker 1: we know that we get these rains, we know the
- 7:55Speaker 1: river rises, but nobody saw this coming. Kelly, the county's
- 8:00Speaker 1: pective official, added that a flood warning siren system was
- 8:03Speaker 1: in consideration to be placed along the now devastated Guadalupe
- 8:07Speaker 1: River before he was in office about six years ago,
- 8:10Speaker 1: but unfortunately it was never executed.
- 8:13Speaker 2: We've looked into it before.
- 8:14Speaker 1: The public reeled at the cost, the judge told the
- 8:17Speaker 1: Associated Press, especially for a small community. So at the
- 8:21Speaker 1: end of the day, there are two narratives. There's a
- 8:23Speaker 1: narrative that they want to tell you on TV MSNBC
- 8:27Speaker 1: putting it this way, saying, quote, the White House is
- 8:29Speaker 1: taking a really defensive posture on the idea that Trump
- 8:33Speaker 1: did anything to hurt the people of Texas. Well, he
- 8:37Speaker 1: didn't hurt the people of Texas, and he didn't have
- 8:40Speaker 1: people that weren't on the job. And unfortunately, instead of
- 8:42Speaker 1: talking about the victims and the tragedy, the White House
- 8:46Speaker 1: had to go and set the record straight. And the
- 8:48Speaker 1: White House Practice Secretary put it perfectly when she said this.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I want to start by addressing the devastation from the
- 8:54Speaker 4: tragic flash floods in Texas. Moments ago, the Department of
- 8:58Speaker 4: Homeland Security for update that ninety one innocent souls have
- 9:03Speaker 4: now perished. Everyone here at the White House, including the
- 9:06Speaker 4: President of the United States, is praying for the victims, families,
- 9:10Speaker 4: and friends during this unimaginable time. President Trump swiftly signed
- 9:14Speaker 4: a major Disaster Declaration for Care County, Texas to ensure
- 9:18Speaker 4: our heroic first responders have every resource they need in
- 9:22Speaker 4: the relief and recovery efforts. Secretary of Homeland Security Christinome
- 9:27Speaker 4: traveled to Texas over the weekend, and the entire Trump
- 9:30Speaker 4: administration is working hand in glove with state and local
- 9:34Speaker 4: officials to provide every assistance available. The situation on the
- 9:38Speaker 4: ground remains dangerous and there could be additional public safety
- 9:41Speaker 4: threats with potential incoming heavy rain. So we encourage everyone
- 9:45Speaker 4: in the area to remain vigilant, listen to all warnings,
- 9:49Speaker 4: and respond accordingly. Unfortunately, in the wake of this once
- 9:53Speaker 4: in a generation natural disaster, we have seen many falsehoods
- 9:57Speaker 4: pushed by Democrats such as Senator Chuck Schumer and some
- 10:00Speaker 4: members of the media. Blaming President Trump for these floods
- 10:04Speaker 4: is a depraved lie and it serves no purpose during
- 10:07Speaker 4: this time of national mourning. Here are the facts. In
- 10:11Speaker 4: the lead up to this tragic natural disaster, the National
- 10:15Speaker 4: Weather Service did its job. Despite unprecedented rainfall. The National
- 10:19Speaker 4: Weather Service executed timely in precise forecasts and warnings. On
- 10:25Speaker 4: July third, the National Weather Service Office in Austin, San Antonio,
- 10:29Speaker 4: Texas conducted forecast briefings for emergency management in the morning
- 10:33Speaker 4: and issued a floodwatch in the early afternoon. Flash flood
- 10:37Speaker 4: warnings were also issued on the night of July third
- 10:40Speaker 4: and in the early morning of July fourth, giving preliminary
- 10:43Speaker 4: lead times of more than three hours before flash flooding
- 10:46Speaker 4: conditions occurred. In the National Weather Service Office in New Brunfels,
- 10:50Speaker 4: which delivers forecasts for Austin, San Antonio and the surrounding areas,
- 10:55Speaker 4: had extra staff on duty during the storms, despite claims
- 10:58Speaker 4: of the contrary. So to any person who has deliberately
- 11:02Speaker 4: lied about these facts surrounding this catastrophic event, you should
- 11:06Speaker 4: be deeply ashamed. At this time, the administration's focus will
- 11:10Speaker 4: be giving on giving the victims in their communities the
- 11:13Speaker 4: support they deserve during these recovery efforts in this tragic time.
- 11:18Speaker 4: May God bless the great people of Texas, especially the
- 11:21Speaker 4: parents who have lost their children. President Trump loves you,
- 11:25Speaker 4: we are praying for you, and he will be traveling
- 11:27Speaker 4: to see you later this week.
- 11:29Speaker 1: One thing that is for sure, President United States of
- 11:32Speaker 1: America will go visit the people in Texas and give
- 11:35Speaker 1: them the support, the comfort, and a government response that
- 11:39Speaker 1: they deserve, regardless of how cynical and how sick the
- 11:42Speaker 1: left and the media has become to lie using the
- 11:45Speaker 1: death of children to try to score political points.
