- 0:43Speaker 1: I have on with the show because he was disruptive
- 0:45Speaker 1: in my life when I saw a body of work
- 0:47Speaker 1: called on the Bounce TV network called The Johnson's about
- 0:51Speaker 1: these four brothers who from the standpoint and I've lived
- 0:54Speaker 1: in a great life and I'm gonna continue to live
- 0:56Speaker 1: a great life. I've never seen it done so well,
- 0:59Speaker 1: especially from an African American perspective focused on men. Please
- 1:03Speaker 1: welcome to money making Conversations. Mastercland Gino Brooks h my
- 1:08Speaker 1: brother that listen. That introduction was phenomenal, man, thank you
- 1:13Speaker 1: for having me. I'm excited to be here. Um. You know,
- 1:17Speaker 1: in preparation of this, I watched a lot of interviews man,
- 1:19Speaker 1: so I know how how in depth you are, and
- 1:22Speaker 1: I love the conversation. So thank you. Excited. You know,
- 1:25Speaker 1: I love the fact that my life allows me to
- 1:28Speaker 1: just you know, some people call me a renaissance man
- 1:30Speaker 1: because I really do talk and have a clear understanding
- 1:33Speaker 1: of what the journey can be. You know, my careers
- 1:36Speaker 1: in mathematics, my minor, and sociology and which work for IBM.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And then I realized that wasn't my dream. And then
- 1:42Speaker 1: when I look at you, you know HBC you graduate,
- 1:45Speaker 1: and then I see University of Kentucky, Then I see
- 1:47Speaker 1: U c l A. You got all this blue grass
- 1:49Speaker 1: and this basketball blue grass, the West Coast, the bit
- 1:52Speaker 1: West Coach. I'll started for you, man, the HBCU that
- 1:57Speaker 1: that black excellence captain you just pushed you out into world.
- 2:01Speaker 1: It did it? Did it? Did? I was You know,
- 2:04Speaker 1: The funny thing is I was one of the students
- 2:06Speaker 1: I felt like needed the you know, the small campuses
- 2:12Speaker 1: in the comparative, you know, comaraderie of like HBCUs the
- 2:15Speaker 1: family aspect of that that brought me. Help focus me
- 2:20Speaker 1: if you will, and I'm grateful for my experience to
- 2:22Speaker 1: the spc U. I'm advocate for a spc U S.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I'm I'm standing on the line right now in the
- 2:30Speaker 1: entertainment industry hoping to bring more opportunities for creatives and
- 2:35Speaker 1: a spc U S to get in the field that
- 2:37Speaker 1: I've chosen since you know, it's interesting that when I
- 2:42Speaker 1: look at your your life, Gino from a standpoint, because
- 2:45Speaker 1: we have similarities, you know, because what we're doing now
- 2:48Speaker 1: is not what we went to school for. Right right then,
- 2:53Speaker 1: we also um pledge Fi. I played qu Sci fi
- 2:59Speaker 1: and which you know it's it's calling doing the platform
- 3:03Speaker 1: and the divine nine. You also have five a sigma
- 3:06Speaker 1: out there. You got the nupes and you know the
- 3:08Speaker 1: organization out there as well as well as the sorority
- 3:11Speaker 1: organizations is tied to all of them. Delta, come on
- 3:16Speaker 1: that Sima Gamma road. We got him out there, but
- 3:20Speaker 1: you know you got me. This showed me no little okay,
- 3:25Speaker 1: after that, let's make sure that get something you're gonna
- 3:28Speaker 1: ain't gonna we started dropping name, they go hate on this.
- 3:30Speaker 1: They're gonna hate on this. Now. We talked a little
- 3:33Speaker 1: bit about hbc Why did you choose an HBCU. You know,
- 3:36Speaker 1: you kind of hit a little bit, but I need
- 3:38Speaker 1: more information because of the fact that in doing George Floyd,
- 3:44Speaker 1: it just exploded. Donations were flooding into HBCU. Was like
- 3:47Speaker 1: like the white folks finally discovered it. You know what
- 3:50Speaker 1: I'm saying. It was annoying to me. It was annoying
- 3:52Speaker 1: to me because of the fact that you know, he's
- 3:55Speaker 1: on ESPN now on a regular sports platform. They go live,
- 3:59Speaker 1: they do live broadcast. I think this weekend they're gonna
- 4:02Speaker 1: be at the Hall of Fame game, you know when
- 4:05Speaker 1: some Salem is playing up there. Steven A. Smith is
- 4:07Speaker 1: an hbc You graduate of some Salem state. That helps
- 4:11Speaker 1: you help, you know. I get a lot of individuals
- 4:14Speaker 1: who owned this show who when I looked through the bio,
- 4:16Speaker 1: becausehen it isn't mean they bio. I always go down
- 4:18Speaker 1: there that it's just so many man of you guys
- 4:23Speaker 1: who graduated from HBCU. They're just doing it. Man, explain
- 4:26Speaker 1: that to us. Yeah, I played ball sawt hoop um,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and I came to before it's because of basketball for
- 4:37Speaker 1: just you know, honesty, UM. And then once I got
- 4:41Speaker 1: there and I kind of found my footing and UM
- 4:46Speaker 1: in the Greek life. So that when I got there
- 4:49Speaker 1: and taught me how to be a leader, how to
- 4:52Speaker 1: run meetings, how to run business more importantly, how to
- 4:56Speaker 1: be a student and a professional of course. So you know,
- 5:00Speaker 1: I'm just grateful that my mom's took me to an
- 5:03Speaker 1: Ami church. She heard about the school that was, you know,
- 5:07Speaker 1: doing like a what is it when the panel? Right?
- 5:10Speaker 1: When when schools come in? And and here's the last
- 5:14Speaker 1: part to kind of top both together. My high school coach,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I went to uh be Force. So it's like, you know,
- 5:22Speaker 1: it just felt good. I got some offers from some
- 5:25Speaker 1: some larger schools, and uh I just decided to feel
- 5:29Speaker 1: I felt like what the Force was the place for
- 5:30Speaker 1: me the type of student that I was, because I
- 5:33Speaker 1: was thinking more importantly about like the longevity of it.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I was good. But if I'm being honest, I probably
- 5:41Speaker 1: knew by then that I wouldn't make it to the NBA, right,
- 5:46Speaker 1: So I needed to set my life up as a student. Um,
- 5:50Speaker 1: you know, because my grandfather was also. It's basically entrepreneurship
- 5:54Speaker 1: is in my family. So that was my goal to
- 5:58Speaker 1: get somewhere where it could support me to be a
- 6:01Speaker 1: student for a graduate from college like UM, and then
- 6:05Speaker 1: also get a piece of my love and basketball. So
- 6:09Speaker 1: it was interesting you said something there, you know, because
- 6:11Speaker 1: a lot of people are are chasing dreams that go nowhere,
- 6:15Speaker 1: or chase them too long. You said, Rashan, Look, I know,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I was all Park. I go to the park. You know,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm the man all Park. I can see that, you know,
- 6:25Speaker 1: because I was all Park. I'm telling that brother. Look, man,
- 6:28Speaker 1: look you couldn't tell me nothing. I go out there.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I'm naturally right handed. I played left. Then they started gambling,
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'm right handed, you know what I'm saying. I was
- 6:36Speaker 1: all part you know. And so but then then the
- 6:40Speaker 1: realization is that that is not who I can be.
- 6:44Speaker 1: It walcos to that step because that's a very mature
- 6:47Speaker 1: decision that you have to make about your physicality as
- 6:50Speaker 1: well as your dreams. Yeah, because like literally, man like,
- 6:54Speaker 1: up until that point, that's probably exad to say, Um,
- 7:00Speaker 1: my identity was all sports, right, it was all I
- 7:06Speaker 1: all I concentrated on you know, I kind of knew
- 7:10Speaker 1: I was an artist early on, and I put that
- 7:13Speaker 1: to the side for the hope of you knowing, becoming
- 7:17Speaker 1: a uh, you know, going to the professionals. And then
- 7:21Speaker 1: at some point right before going to well, at some
- 7:27Speaker 1: point once I got on campus, because I also thought
- 7:29Speaker 1: I possibly could transfer to a larger school. So but
- 7:32Speaker 1: once I got on campus and I realized who I
- 7:35Speaker 1: could become and how my mother because I would go
- 7:39Speaker 1: home and my mom's would be like, Yo, you're becoming
- 7:41Speaker 1: I'm seeing something different than you. And I'm so grateful
- 7:45Speaker 1: to go before you know, community. Uh. And and again
- 7:51Speaker 1: the small because the HBU was like h b c
- 7:54Speaker 1: U s are small in comparison to a lot of
- 7:57Speaker 1: the p W I was like me, the university can tell,
- 8:00Speaker 1: but what beforce is even smaller in the in the
- 8:03Speaker 1: you know, the economy of HBCU. But it was what
- 8:08Speaker 1: I needed, and you know, to be able to the
- 8:10Speaker 1: smaller classrooms. You know, I can literally knock on my
- 8:13Speaker 1: advisor's door and get an answer immediately. Man, that's the
- 8:16Speaker 1: type of student that I need. So I recognized that early,
- 8:20Speaker 1: and I just wanted to set myself up right, because,
- 8:23Speaker 1: like you said, a lot of times people send they
- 8:26Speaker 1: spend too much time and on the path that if
- 8:31Speaker 1: they had recognized it earlier, UM, they probably could have
- 8:34Speaker 1: saved them time sometime and some some grief. And I
- 8:37Speaker 1: didn't want to do that. I wanted to my life.
- 8:40Speaker 1: You know, I knew that I wanted to be something different.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Um if basketball didn't work out, nothink force helped me
- 8:46Speaker 1: to find that. We'll be right back with more Money
- 8:48Speaker 1: Making Conversations Masterclass with Rushan McDonald. Now, let's return to
- 8:55Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rashan McDonald. You know, we
- 9:00Speaker 1: know I was looking to your bio and like I said,
- 9:02Speaker 1: the series that you are director and writing now so
- 9:05Speaker 1: producing The Johnson which is on Bounce TV. Incredible series
- 9:09Speaker 1: of individuals who are listening or watching this episode have
- 9:13Speaker 1: not seen these about four African American men. And you know,
- 9:17Speaker 1: we we've seen shows like Living Single, We've seen the
- 9:20Speaker 1: insecues of the world, but we've never seen this. For
- 9:25Speaker 1: I wouldn't use the words dysfunctional, but you know you can.
- 9:28Speaker 1: You know each one has their own individual issues like
- 9:31Speaker 1: you know in the in the in the other world,
- 9:33Speaker 1: you would say female type issues because we marginalized what
- 9:37Speaker 1: black men can be portrayed as. And this series that
- 9:41Speaker 1: you are a part of which I have the pleasure
- 9:45Speaker 1: of interview and two of the stars, and I said,
- 9:47Speaker 1: when they your name popped up, general like, I gotta
- 9:49Speaker 1: have it because again you have success in front of
- 9:52Speaker 1: the screen because they're also executive producers, but also you
- 9:57Speaker 1: are pushing the narrative as a writer and the director
- 10:01Speaker 1: talk about being invited into that project the Johnson's on
- 10:06Speaker 1: Bounced TV. Yeah, listen, man, I would say, you know,
- 10:10Speaker 1: I'm I'm a filmmaker that was traditionally I kind of
- 10:15Speaker 1: you know, cut my teeth independently on my own projects
- 10:18Speaker 1: that I were write, producing, direct myself. And then Dais
- 10:22Speaker 1: and Thomas and char Archibald who's also one of the
- 10:27Speaker 1: executive producers over the Entertainer. Well, yeah, in sent two.
- 10:34Speaker 1: So that's that's that's the that's the second tary. Yeah.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But the first thing I had to meet with the
- 10:40Speaker 1: I had to meet with Dais and Thomas in Reching
- 10:42Speaker 1: before right right right, yeah, yeah, said in area I
- 10:48Speaker 1: want to make sure Eric Roan is allSome. I was looking.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I've been knowing I since ninety two. Okay, so because
- 10:54Speaker 1: all it's all good, Eric Rohner bar I have a
- 10:57Speaker 1: comedy cling back in Houston, book down that that's how
- 11:00Speaker 1: at Cedric then all of us with Steve Harvey and
- 11:02Speaker 1: all of us, and the history is there. That's why
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm so proud of this whole series, man, because they're
- 11:08Speaker 1: a strong African American. Man. You're from African American man,
- 11:12Speaker 1: you turned into this wonderful series, and when did you
- 11:15Speaker 1: realize it was something special? Man? Listen. I took the
- 11:20Speaker 1: I would say once I got to Atlanta, right because
- 11:25Speaker 1: I'm in l A. And we we did a lot
- 11:27Speaker 1: of obviously talking to pre production and things that I
- 11:30Speaker 1: started when I got to Atlanta and I saw the locations.
- 11:33Speaker 1: In our first meeting, UM, Dais and Thomas said to me, Um,
- 11:39Speaker 1: you know they're depending on me because I had the
- 11:41Speaker 1: bulk of the first five episodes of the season. But
- 11:45Speaker 1: they you know, what they were looking for. What they
- 11:47Speaker 1: promised the network was that they were gonna change trying
- 11:50Speaker 1: to change the narrative of how Bounce was being viewed
- 11:54Speaker 1: at the time. Right, So, Um, Thomas and Dais took
- 11:59Speaker 1: it upon themselves to um say, hey, man, we're gonna
- 12:03Speaker 1: really lean into this. UM project is just obviously it's
- 12:06Speaker 1: not just something we're doing, but we wanted to be
- 12:10Speaker 1: UM the gold standard for what Bounce will be known
- 12:12Speaker 1: for moving forward. And with that, you know, they mentioned
- 12:17Speaker 1: some other premium channels. I don't know if that's necessary
- 12:20Speaker 1: that they want to like strive to be you know,
- 12:24Speaker 1: you know, play ball with if you will. And so
- 12:27Speaker 1: when and with that said, I came in and I
- 12:30Speaker 1: was just like, I know what to do. You know,
- 12:32Speaker 1: from my aspect um, this is how I want to
- 12:35Speaker 1: cover it, you know, from a directing standpoint, lighting wise,
- 12:39Speaker 1: we all kind of came up with that together, and
- 12:41Speaker 1: I'm really excited about it. Well, I would tell you
- 12:43Speaker 1: everybody you know, UM, I've been doing television, high level
- 12:48Speaker 1: tech network televisions, just naty four, ABC, UM, hit movies,
- 12:53Speaker 1: hit syndication. So when I look at the show like this,
- 12:57Speaker 1: you know, and then you can you can you can
- 12:59Speaker 1: look at because we're of all, they're not working with
- 13:01Speaker 1: network budget. Okay, right, right, So first of all, I go,
- 13:04Speaker 1: I look at the lighting first. Okay, Okay, they passed
- 13:08Speaker 1: the lighting test, which means everybody was litd correctly walking
- 13:11Speaker 1: the room shadows wasn't blocking black people. You can still
- 13:16Speaker 1: still see them. It was in nightclub scenes. Everybody was
- 13:19Speaker 1: still clear. Okay. The second test is audio. Okay, with
- 13:24Speaker 1: no echo, everybody was clear. They're defining the scenes. You
- 13:30Speaker 1: can see somebody in the background. Then you know that's
- 13:33Speaker 1: a relevant moment and all that stuff. Then the third
- 13:36Speaker 1: thing in a well done series is chemistry. Fourth is lickability.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Fifth is completed project that five step. Now let's go
- 13:46Speaker 1: back to chemistry, Deluge, Earthquake. Now, the thing about Earthquakes character,
- 13:54Speaker 1: like I said, if you have not seen this series, Bounce,
- 13:56Speaker 1: I'm talking to the writer director of this series, is
- 14:00Speaker 1: that Earthquake developed in the series. Yes, you know, the
- 14:06Speaker 1: group became more pronounced became earthquake. When I say that,
- 14:10Speaker 1: that's a good thing. D's character, Man, I know, he
- 14:14Speaker 1: has a national syndicated show, so it's a natural transition.
- 14:17Speaker 1: But the role he plays is fantastic. Man, talk about
- 14:20Speaker 1: that whole chemistry Well, I would just say, you know, um,
- 14:24Speaker 1: the cool thing about the guys, I'll start with the
- 14:26Speaker 1: four guys first. They are amazing to work with. They're
- 14:30Speaker 1: extremely professional, um, and they come to work like it's
- 14:35Speaker 1: their last day. Of work and I say that we're
- 14:37Speaker 1: all you know, all my my heart open, like you know,
- 14:41Speaker 1: whatever I ask of them when I'm directing them, Um,
- 14:45Speaker 1: they really dropped in. They believe and trusting me and
- 14:47Speaker 1: my vision for the overall series. And then I'll just
- 14:51Speaker 1: add for DL and and Earthquake Man, they are I
- 14:55Speaker 1: would say they come around obviously with the wisdom and
- 14:58Speaker 1: they come out and they helped ground the show. You
- 15:01Speaker 1: know what, I think d L's character and character in
- 15:04Speaker 1: particular is someone that's uh coming with the wisdom, but
- 15:09Speaker 1: he's also speaking to them. We you know, we do
- 15:12Speaker 1: a great job of having him speak to them in
- 15:14Speaker 1: terms that that's not too above them, you know what
- 15:18Speaker 1: I'm saying. And I think that's what that that's what
- 15:21Speaker 1: does it for me. Lastly, um, they spend time together.
- 15:26Speaker 1: These are these brothers, are true friends. These are guys
- 15:29Speaker 1: that you'll catch up the supermarket together. So it's easy
- 15:33Speaker 1: for me to come in as a directors who, um,
- 15:36Speaker 1: you know, drop us into a moment or tell them
- 15:40Speaker 1: challenge them on something else because they've been through it
- 15:43Speaker 1: as friends and it's just you're seeing that on screen.
- 15:47Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more money making Conversations Masterclass
- 15:50Speaker 1: with Rushan McDonald. Now let's return to money Making Conversations
- 15:56Speaker 1: Masterclass with Rushan McDonald. You know, they're just thing they're
- 16:00Speaker 1: thinking about a d G and Tholmost. They spent their
- 16:02Speaker 1: own money put together this pilot, like they went over
- 16:05Speaker 1: to UH to Cedric and Eric Rohn, Cedric Entertaining Air
- 16:09Speaker 1: Chrome pitched it. They bought into it, and then they
- 16:12Speaker 1: found a great writer director like you to help put
- 16:15Speaker 1: it on the screen. The thing that I really admired
- 16:18Speaker 1: about the whole process is that the quality and from
- 16:22Speaker 1: a reduction standpoint, because this is what you were saying,
- 16:25Speaker 1: the gold standards that you were talking about, you know,
- 16:27Speaker 1: being able to still put out the level of quality.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I was telling a world shot. I was engaged in
- 16:34Speaker 1: the relationship and then you brought in my girl from
- 16:36Speaker 1: a uh from Steve Harvey show. Uh. Man, it was
- 16:44Speaker 1: just just just kept killing me, man, keep killing me
- 16:47Speaker 1: with all these great favorites on this show. Man, just
- 16:51Speaker 1: a just a great series. Man that that continually to grow.
- 16:55Speaker 1: When you do something like this, it becomes a resume
- 16:57Speaker 1: standard for you and a hue to see that I
- 17:01Speaker 1: can't be great in this business. You have the artist standard,
- 17:04Speaker 1: the artistics standard, excuse me, company that you have. How
- 17:07Speaker 1: do you tie all that together? What's the next step
- 17:10Speaker 1: for you? Gino Brooks well, before I answered, I would
- 17:14Speaker 1: love to make sure I mentioned Stan austen Um, who
- 17:17Speaker 1: is our cinematographer for Johnson. So I just want to
- 17:21Speaker 1: make sure you know we have we have something with
- 17:24Speaker 1: His name is then my name is Gino. We call
- 17:26Speaker 1: each other. We call ourselves Tino when we're together, so
- 17:31Speaker 1: that's our live hash tag for ourselves man, and we
- 17:34Speaker 1: absolutely worked extremely well together to help bring these visuals
- 17:38Speaker 1: to you. For my part of it, it's you know,
- 17:41Speaker 1: it's other directors as well. So I just want to
- 17:43Speaker 1: make sure I mentioned that Um. But no, Miss terry Man.
- 17:47Speaker 1: She she came in and absolutely fit into because what
- 17:52Speaker 1: Dais and Thomas does extremely well is we make it
- 17:57Speaker 1: feel like feminine. I know a lot of things are
- 18:01Speaker 1: projects that I've been a part of. People say that,
- 18:04Speaker 1: but it's like it's like dropping in on the family picnic,
- 18:06Speaker 1: like food over, There're gonna make your own plate. That's
- 18:10Speaker 1: and that's the kind of analogy for what this is
- 18:13Speaker 1: with Johnson. So I just want to make sure that
- 18:15Speaker 1: that is being said, because they set the table for
- 18:18Speaker 1: us UH in a way that you know, we feel
- 18:20Speaker 1: like our thoughts and our creative input is value. I think.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Terry also added that UM, I can't wait to see
- 18:27Speaker 1: what happens next with her character. UM. And as far
- 18:30Speaker 1: as the standard for me, again, that goes back to
- 18:33Speaker 1: the guys. Their goal. Their goal was to lift this.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I want to say lift the standard of Bounce because
- 18:40Speaker 1: it sounds crazy, but I would just say, help Bounce
- 18:43Speaker 1: realize that their next elevation, if you will, UM. And
- 18:48Speaker 1: that's where I live by. That's what my arts represent.
- 18:51Speaker 1: That's obviously what the name of my company is, the
- 18:53Speaker 1: artistic standard. When I go out, I want to make
- 18:56Speaker 1: sure that everything that I do UH of quality, is
- 19:01Speaker 1: of substance, and I give it my d percent all
- 19:04Speaker 1: because I know the one that project will be left
- 19:08Speaker 1: behind with knowing that I gave it my best and
- 19:11Speaker 1: it falls within my moral compass. In addition to it's
- 19:14Speaker 1: the it's the set up for my next goal, my
- 19:17Speaker 1: next project. And I think Johnson UM is a part
- 19:21Speaker 1: of my journey and extremely to be on this path
- 19:24Speaker 1: with the brothers, and I look forward to next season UM,
- 19:27Speaker 1: and I also look forward to the many things that's
- 19:29Speaker 1: happening for me in my career and my production company wor.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna just let you know, I'm I my whole
- 19:35Speaker 1: life has been able to recognize gifted individuals and talented individuals.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I can assure you, Mr Geno Brooks, we will be
- 19:42Speaker 1: walking together. Uh he said, I give me it's it's
- 19:48Speaker 1: it's it's a year window. Within that year window, you
- 19:51Speaker 1: will begin to ring from Rashaan McDonald. Okay, you know,
- 19:55Speaker 1: and that good question for you, Joman, Okay, how do
- 19:59Speaker 1: I make that wall? Man? Behind you? That's what I'm shooting.
- 20:04Speaker 1: That's the standard for me, Like, how do I make
- 20:07Speaker 1: that wall? It's it's the other on this wall right here,
- 20:11Speaker 1: Gino two on the other side. You know that there's
- 20:14Speaker 1: a paddler bell on wall. You know what to see
- 20:16Speaker 1: over there? A lot of boy that that wall is
- 20:21Speaker 1: cold over that too. Don't let this just stop you.
- 20:24Speaker 1: I got this whole room, and I'm feel blessed man
- 20:27Speaker 1: because of the fact that you mad are my future.
- 20:30Speaker 1: You know, you are individuals where I'm working on projects
- 20:34Speaker 1: where I sit on this show man and I just
- 20:37Speaker 1: see talent like you, and I just make just write down,
- 20:40Speaker 1: gonna work with that person, Gonna work with that person.
- 20:42Speaker 1: And because I'm always looking for young writers, that's why
- 20:45Speaker 1: I let you know, man, and I'm gonna get that
- 20:47Speaker 1: cinematographer's number two from because she Man, I'm telling I'll
- 20:52Speaker 1: be watching TV. I'll be going, Okay, I know how
- 20:55Speaker 1: much money they're doing. I know what this production number is.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I know it just products and number years. And I said,
- 21:02Speaker 1: and go ahead, because because you know there's nothing negative
- 21:05Speaker 1: to your certain levels, production number is going to be
- 21:07Speaker 1: what they are. And brother, and I told Thomas this,
- 21:10Speaker 1: and I told Ajis, I said, Brother, the quality, yeah,
- 21:16Speaker 1: the acting, but you can act great, but if it
- 21:19Speaker 1: looks sloppy, look like it's been edited badly. You know,
- 21:22Speaker 1: when one episode end, they pick right back up. Just brother, Oh,
- 21:27Speaker 1: just beautiful man, just beautiful, dude. Yeah, man, I think
- 21:32Speaker 1: that's I think one of my specialties. And I think
- 21:35Speaker 1: with the guys have done extremely well speaking about the
- 21:38Speaker 1: quality of the production. Is that you make it feel
- 21:41Speaker 1: like you know you're looking at something with the larger budget, right,
- 21:45Speaker 1: And that's that's all to do with the leadership with
- 21:48Speaker 1: the guys. You know, my creative him put along with
- 21:52Speaker 1: the master behind the camera and him and his team,
- 21:55Speaker 1: and that's stand awesome, man. So I'm just excited to
- 21:57Speaker 1: be a part of that. Gumbo brings that quality of
- 22:01Speaker 1: project that you're looking at for your for everybody who's
- 22:04Speaker 1: on audio can't see what he's saying. So you on
- 22:06Speaker 1: that wall, you got Steven A. Smith, Ricky Smile and
- 22:09Speaker 1: when the ri Cal Robinson, Bishop t D. Jake's you
- 22:12Speaker 1: got uh, George Lopez, you got Aaron Roker, Nancy Grace,
- 22:16Speaker 1: Kurt Franklin, Till Murray, Tamarin Hall, my Boy, Boris Ko,
- 22:21Speaker 1: Nie Cedric, the entertainer, Chris Paul, just keeps going down,
- 22:25Speaker 1: La la, Anthony Bisiman, Crump, the boy making good, my boy,
- 22:30Speaker 1: Will Packer, HBCU boy. That's that's, that's, that's, that's that's.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I'll tell you. I made a decision. You know, when
- 22:38Speaker 1: I stopped managing Steve what I was what was my voice?
- 22:41Speaker 1: And then all bunch of celebrities were calling my show.
- 22:43Speaker 1: But I didn't know why I had to stop. So
- 22:46Speaker 1: I know why they called me. Now they value my opinion.
- 22:49Speaker 1: They're value that what I'm trying to put out there,
- 22:51Speaker 1: like I hopefully you value what I'm trying to do.
- 22:53Speaker 1: I'm just here to talk about your brill I'm gonna
- 22:55Speaker 1: here the showcase that you're brilliant talent, and I want
- 22:58Speaker 1: to bring you back because of the fact that I

- 23:04Speaker 1: that right there, man, is a is a we're gonna
- 23:07Speaker 1: talk off fair because within the black community, we felt
- 23:10Speaker 1: so many times when it comes to mental health and
- 23:13Speaker 1: the truisms of hey, you can lay down and tell
- 23:15Speaker 1: somebody struggling, You tell us abody you stress, you tell
- 23:18Speaker 1: somebody that. The fact that black people as a race
- 23:22Speaker 1: all the most stressed out race and most mentally fatigued
- 23:25Speaker 1: race in the world because we come in the room.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Everybody know we're black, Okay, everybody you know, we can't
- 23:33Speaker 1: have been having those skin tone maybe tagging. Oh he
- 23:36Speaker 1: might be a Spane, he might be George, we might
- 23:39Speaker 1: be Polish, we might be friends. We're walking the room, Gino,
- 23:42Speaker 1: we're black. I already know, and we got deal with that.
- 23:46Speaker 1: But more importantly, keep putting out that quality of material.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Man that Johnson is on Bounce TV. This is you know.
- 23:53Speaker 1: You see my board, Thomas number six pick in the
- 23:55Speaker 1: draft in the NFL. My board a g went on
- 23:58Speaker 1: Broadway at the age of three. Team these are people
- 24:01Speaker 1: that are working on this project. Dynamic individuals came together.
- 24:04Speaker 1: But more importantly, you gotta have a lot of wheels
- 24:07Speaker 1: to make greatness. And I'm talking to greatness right now.
