[SPEAKER_03]: So what this means is that while, unfortunately, this amuse of Paluso will is already maxed out.

[SPEAKER_03]: But you know sometimes you grow up and you have a kid and you have to like care for them.

[SPEAKER_03]: So you have a real tight window to get them ready for preschool and potty train them, which by the way, be successfully did in two weeks.

[SPEAKER_03]: Like, listen, that Royal Caribbean sailing Disney World trip was like really smooshed in there and I was like, all right, we gotta start the minute we're back and we did and we are good and we are golden and we are ready.

[SPEAKER_03]: To do that, to prepare my child for the biggest thing that's ever happened to her, which is going to school for the first time.

[SPEAKER_03]: Now, would mother prefer frolicing through Disney's Coronado Springs resort without any responsibility or care in the world instead of being at home very, very stressed and signed her own house?

[SPEAKER_03]: I would, however, I am here in Los Angeles panic ordering name labels to attach to all of my child's earthly possessions so that some of them might actually make their way home from school.

[SPEAKER_03]: And while none of it was colossal or earth shattering, there were actually a lot of significant updates and announcements these past few weeks.

[SPEAKER_03]: The first was a media event, a Disney World two week back, where a big chunk of news came out of, oddly.

[SPEAKER_03]: And the second was Destination D. Twenty-three.

[SPEAKER_03]: The fan event, which for the first time, moved to Coronado Springs this year.

[SPEAKER_03]: While I would have loved to see what that change was like in person, and I do feel like a low-key missed a lot, like the shopping, the Kuskotopia night, a typhoon lagoon, the life performances from Disney on Broadway performers.

[SPEAKER_03]: There's still plenty we can do without my having flown to Orlando, and not just because I low-key Venmote, dear colleague, a hundred dollars to grab me and bump into your sweatshirt.

[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like it's going to make a resurgence in any day that I can channel the magic of Kermit the Frog is one that I'm going to grasp onto.

[SPEAKER_03]: So, today, we are going to do kind of my favorite thing, which is to talk about changes at Disney Parks and give a whole lot of honest opinions about them.

[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to attempt to do this in kind of the loose round robin style, kind of covering news from each park and destination in locational order.

[SPEAKER_03]: Starting with the magic kingdom, which ends up being the place that we had the bulk of news from these past few weeks.

[SPEAKER_03]: And the biggest news, if you're me, or probably anyone listening to this, is that we're getting the OG Castle back, baby!

[SPEAKER_03]: The fiftieth pinky, so many colorscape.

[SPEAKER_03]: And the updated paint will feature, as they have said, Grace, creams, blues, and a touch of gold aiming to enhance the castle's architecture.

[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what that means and how those colors will break down, but it's like the old color scheme.

[SPEAKER_03]: And when I did that, I found a post of me from years ago being like, wow, the castle's actually not that bad in person, it's cute.

[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if that was pandemic, or if I just accepted my lumps, you know, like really taking my lumps and just accepting that that was the castle we were given.

[SPEAKER_03]: But trust me when I say down to my core, I am thrilled that we are getting old castle back because I'm literally sitting here staring at my art wall.

[SPEAKER_03]: I used to, you know, like everyone else does have the art behind me and send it a desk and then I bought a walking pad and I thought, oh, this will change my life.

[SPEAKER_03]: And now I'm staring at all of this Disney art and it's like all of it has the OG castle, the gray blue castle.

[SPEAKER_03]: It also made me start thinking about like what would you bring back to magic kingdom if you could bring one thing back to magic kingdom and immediately my brain when I heard this announcement I was like yeah, we're getting the blue castle and then immediately I went bring back the swan boats now

[SPEAKER_03]: And if they have an announced dream lights, the festive beautiful nighttime winery lights that appear on the castle, if they haven't announced those, because they haven't been back since, twenty-nineteen, I believe.

[SPEAKER_03]: At Destination D. Twenty-three, there was actually a whole panel about castles, and they revealed some shocking stuff I've never heard before.

[SPEAKER_03]: Like, there was a planned cake themed overlay to Carousel of Progress for Mickey's Sixtieth Birthday, similar to the cake castle, the iconic cake castle that we got, and while Disney World for their twenty-fifth anniversary.

[SPEAKER_03]: But that's not as exciting as the lore that was dropped about Disneyland Paris's castle.

[SPEAKER_03]: Now, there are two things that really lit me up as part of this.

[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I have been on a Disney cruise ship where I've watched probably six hours of movies in a day, and on my Royal Caribbean sailing, I was trying to find a movie to watch with my child, because that's what I'm used to doing on a cruise ship, and I couldn't find one.

[SPEAKER_03]: It almost felt like Royal didn't really need that type of entertainment, because they had things like live music.

[SPEAKER_03]: And,lessly, I'm talking endless, endless live music, a full band playing by the pool.

[SPEAKER_03]: Like, there was just so much live entertainment that I didn't expect from that cruise line that really, really wowed me.

[SPEAKER_03]: As I mentioned in that episode, if anyone listening hasn't heard it for a while, I was like, I'm missing that storytelling and missing that kind of imaginary perspective of like drawing upon the movies I know, the movies I, and places I have nostalgia towards within this cruise ship.

[SPEAKER_03]: But once I saw the caliber of entertainment and I started to really embrace the different types of things they had on this cruise ship, some of which I do think were superior to Disney Cruise Line.

[SPEAKER_03]: There were a lot of cool things about this ship and while the fear of it being like this is hollow and empty and like a mall is possible I do think that they rose above that because of their entertainment program because there were so many touchstones for that and it wasn't just bar bar restaurant.

[SPEAKER_03]: I mean they had a piano player who you would just be in the elevator and like a piano player would appear and just start playing music.

[SPEAKER_03]: And those wild moments, I do think provide that something special that while it isn't Disney IP, while it isn't the joy of seeing Daisy Duck come down and elevator and walk out like nothing compares to that, it did have that special sort of discovery and wild factor in artistry.
