- 3:31Speaker 1: want to bring people on the money main conversation. You know,
- 3:33Speaker 1: they have success in their lives, and you have continued
- 3:35Speaker 1: success and very in a very difficult business and as entertainment,
- 3:39Speaker 1: uh you and a guy you know, I left IBM
- 3:42Speaker 1: and to pursue a career as a stand up comic,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and then that I became a sitcom writer on television shows.
- 3:48Speaker 1: That doesn't mean that that television show is gonna go
- 3:51Speaker 1: twenty two episodes or eight episodes or ten episodes two
- 3:54Speaker 1: years or three years. So you always operate in the
- 3:57Speaker 1: environment of uncertainty. So, but but your career, let's go
- 4:02Speaker 1: back to where it kind of started, Hbcuy, No Carolina,
- 4:08Speaker 1: talk about that experience a little you know, a little
- 4:11Speaker 1: a little little black girl, you know, and during a
- 4:14Speaker 1: lot of talk about the big dreams, and you know,
- 4:15Speaker 1: when you're talking when you from I would call DRM
- 4:18Speaker 1: a small town. But it's not a big city. And
- 4:20Speaker 1: when you're talking about big dreams, how did you manage
- 4:25Speaker 1: to believe they were possible from your environment? Well, you know, hey, listen,
- 4:31Speaker 1: let me let's just break it down. Let's strick it
- 4:33Speaker 1: all down with God. All takes possible. And you know,
- 4:36Speaker 1: you know again from a small town. Uh, you know,
- 4:39Speaker 1: I was, I was routed. Uh and and God and
- 4:43Speaker 1: the possitilities that the universe and can send your way.
- 4:47Speaker 1: And hey, I was a small town thrilled with big dreams.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And I just, uh, I chose career. It really excuse me,
- 4:54Speaker 1: The career kind of chose me. And uh and I
- 4:56Speaker 1: and we shall in love with each other and uh
- 4:59Speaker 1: and I just quick my person there, you know. And
- 5:02Speaker 1: I know that's kind of apprecie. But if it's one
- 5:04Speaker 1: of those things that you stick something long enough, you're
- 5:07Speaker 1: tints desist in it, if you're a passion for it.
- 5:09Speaker 1: And I have a passion for it. And and I
- 5:11Speaker 1: get thanks to that long town to term. I get
- 5:14Speaker 1: thanks to Hillside High School, thanks to um and I
- 5:18Speaker 1: just get thank you to to to those people who
- 5:21Speaker 1: poured into me in a little small town and through
- 5:23Speaker 1: my mom and my church shampoo and the ractations that
- 5:27Speaker 1: are there. And uh, I'm just grateful I'm to be
- 5:31Speaker 1: talking to you and still still being able to live
- 5:33Speaker 1: my dream and I still have so much more to do. Um.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I can't wait to see what the universe holds. Man. Well, well,
- 5:40Speaker 1: let's talking about this current universe. You know, if loving
- 5:43Speaker 1: you he's wrong, you know, saying own network Tyler pair
- 5:50Speaker 1: produced because you know it's gonna be selicious because I
- 5:52Speaker 1: watched all his shows. You know, I am a Tyler
- 5:55Speaker 1: Perry nut. Okay, oh no, thank you, just talking about
- 5:59Speaker 1: this thank here, this show here. I'm gonna let you
- 6:01Speaker 1: tell everybody about the show it did rou Sean McDonald
- 6:04Speaker 1: go come back and give his version. Okay, do you
- 6:06Speaker 1: know it's gonna be a little information, you know, let
- 6:08Speaker 1: your boy, let you know your boys and love what
- 6:11Speaker 1: you're doing and and love what show. So set us up. Well,
- 6:14Speaker 1: I'm telling us about to see it. I'm gonna keep
- 6:17Speaker 1: it short because I'm really excited to hear your take
- 6:19Speaker 1: on it. Listen, I could, I could, I could always
- 6:23Speaker 1: save a little bit of about the show. I just
- 6:26Speaker 1: have to think you have to experience it. So this show,
- 6:29Speaker 1: like you said, An introduction. Uh, it's so it's about
- 6:32Speaker 1: the lines to each five friends. We live in the
- 6:34Speaker 1: town called Next Thing. They're all from somewhat different walks
- 6:38Speaker 1: of life, um, but they live in the town where
- 6:40Speaker 1: there's a drama that ensues every day. But that drama
- 6:44Speaker 1: is pairs, murder, uh, scandal, all the things you can
- 6:49Speaker 1: think of when it comes to drama. This small town
- 6:52Speaker 1: has endured it By character who I play, I'm one
- 6:56Speaker 1: of because lady, your name is baddily hitmy I would
- 6:58Speaker 1: stake man is probably one of the more little up five.
- 7:03Speaker 1: And I say that in respect to that. She she's
- 7:07Speaker 1: one of the more relatable characters like kind of knows
- 7:12Speaker 1: he though you kind of kind of knows, and and
- 7:14Speaker 1: and protective. I'm like, I'm like a classic. I like
- 7:17Speaker 1: it categorize so more as protective. She can't get you
- 7:23Speaker 1: know what I'm trying. I'm saying I'm doing here, Randa.
- 7:27Speaker 1: You know I'm saying right right, you will cut your it,
- 7:31Speaker 1: need child children, whatever she has to do to protect
- 7:35Speaker 1: the ones she loves. And I enjoyed playing Natalie so much.
- 7:38Speaker 1: She's did a lot like me in a lot of ways,
- 7:40Speaker 1: but as don't very differant to in some ways, but
- 7:43Speaker 1: but a lot like many of the people watch her up,
- 7:45Speaker 1: you can really relate to her. Somebody in their family
- 7:48Speaker 1: is probably like family, Like, yeah, I did that a
- 7:52Speaker 1: lot to when I was you know, my life wants
- 7:54Speaker 1: the store. You know, I don't have people shop. Bet.
- 7:57Speaker 1: My auntie is just like you, you girl, your kids
- 8:01Speaker 1: family is just like Natalie's a stable farm. She's Uh,
- 8:05Speaker 1: she's in a relationship with Lucian, who was played by
- 8:08Speaker 1: Charles Lee Whitfield. Uh, wonderfool and just wander to you
- 8:14Speaker 1: to be um. So yeah, it's it's been a roller
- 8:17Speaker 1: coaster rode. She she one of the group who has
- 8:20Speaker 1: listed a lot of money. She lives on the outsource
- 8:23Speaker 1: of town before moving into Maxie, but now she lives
- 8:25Speaker 1: in max Name with Arrest of the Ladies and uh
- 8:27Speaker 1: and her and and as the seasons the great you
- 8:30Speaker 1: know her her life started to change and she was
- 8:33Speaker 1: on a little show feeling better and kind of living
- 8:36Speaker 1: out the three and her family with the drama scale
- 8:39Speaker 1: followers so and and it still follows up the tool
- 8:41Speaker 1: of the new season. And I can't wait to see
- 8:44Speaker 1: what viewers I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna be able
- 8:47Speaker 1: to find out now I want to hear war take
- 8:52Speaker 1: come on Loving You the song okay, cool, pretty cool,
- 8:55Speaker 1: Thank you very much, April Parker Jones. If Loving You
- 8:59Speaker 1: is on is produced by Tyler Perry. It's a sexy
- 9:02Speaker 1: drawma that takes viewers into the lives of a group
- 9:05Speaker 1: of husbands, wives and friends that live and love in
- 9:08Speaker 1: the same middle class neighborhood or town called Maxine. This
- 9:12Speaker 1: is the fifth and final season. April, your character's Natalie.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I think she kind of knows he. I think she
- 9:18Speaker 1: bothered too many people. But guess what, I'm just a
- 9:21Speaker 1: viewer and just telling you what I see. You're married
- 9:23Speaker 1: to the Goody two Shoe police officer Lucien, which is
- 9:27Speaker 1: my name with an ail Rashaan Leshawn. That's it. Kelly.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Now Kelly is in jail for the murder of Travis
- 9:35Speaker 1: Kane and is being helped by Goody two Shoe police
- 9:39Speaker 1: officer Lution and Rick. Now. Rick has another agenda because
- 9:42Speaker 1: he kind of likes Kelly. I kind of noticed that
- 9:44Speaker 1: alone the show. He don't weigh too much for a
- 9:46Speaker 1: police officer, and then when he touched her hand a
- 9:48Speaker 1: little bit when her hand was on the in the jail,
- 9:51Speaker 1: cell I knows the look energy pushed on that. Now
- 9:54Speaker 1: Travis Kane, he's no longer in the show because he's dead.
- 9:57Speaker 1: He stoked a lot of women at the church the
- 10:00Speaker 1: each other with nine women. When the same allegations hit Kelly.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Now she in jail. They want to just put it
- 10:05Speaker 1: in jail for a double life. In fact, the d
- 10:08Speaker 1: A wants to kill him. That's what I'm just telling y'all. Strong.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Now Kelly is represented by a public defender because the
- 10:14Speaker 1: lawyer that they wanted to hire, Attorney In. I'm gonna
- 10:16Speaker 1: get to him later because he's very key to the
- 10:19Speaker 1: cliffhanger at the end of the show. Now, Attorney In
- 10:22Speaker 1: he worked for Larry. Larry, No everybody Larry is um.
- 10:26Speaker 1: We'll get to him a little bit later. So dr
- 10:29Speaker 1: turning in. He's playing a double agent for Larry because
- 10:32Speaker 1: Larry he actually represents the Kane family, so his firm does,
- 10:37Speaker 1: and Attorney In he cannot represent somebody in and be
- 10:42Speaker 1: like litigation drama. So he said, I won't represent but
- 10:46Speaker 1: I guide the college student public defender. You can say whatever.
- 10:50Speaker 1: He don't know nothing coming up with that nice little
- 10:52Speaker 1: tight sup and cleaning shoes. But he's never does any
- 10:55Speaker 1: big case in his life. Now let's go to the
- 10:57Speaker 1: sexy Esperanto Now, okay, let's talk about her. She went
- 11:03Speaker 1: to Larry Larry again. Everybody goes to Larry. I don't
- 11:06Speaker 1: know why everybody goes to last because Larry is as
- 11:09Speaker 1: messy as you come. He's a lawyer, know everybody business, Okay,
- 11:12Speaker 1: But Esperaza rolls up in there because everybody go to Larry. Right.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I want to get divorced from her crazy husband Eddie.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Eddie is also a police officer. What do you think
- 11:22Speaker 1: the Esperraza work at the police station. So we have
- 11:25Speaker 1: a problem right there. She's at the police station. She
- 11:28Speaker 1: can't get away from a crazy husband who's a crazy cop.
- 11:30Speaker 1: She wants to get a divorce from the crazy cop
- 11:32Speaker 1: and get sold custody. Right there. You know there's gonna
- 11:35Speaker 1: be a problem now, not through yet, because like I said, Randall,
- 11:41Speaker 1: that's my man. Randall's in shape. You know, pull off
- 11:44Speaker 1: that shirt, got everything working, six pack, chess puffed out
- 11:49Speaker 1: even in the shirts that he wears. You did he fine, fine,
- 11:53Speaker 1: fine five. That is a staple of all Tyler pair
- 11:56Speaker 1: of series. You're gonna have the five five five that
- 12:00Speaker 1: fits Randall's bill. He's fine, okay, but he's all, but
- 12:04Speaker 1: he also can act. He's also crazy. Let me tell
- 12:07Speaker 1: you a little thing. Abouts See, everybody lives right across
- 12:09Speaker 1: from each other, right next to each other, so you
- 12:11Speaker 1: have to walk far to get in trouble. Rand he
- 12:15Speaker 1: has had been having a sexual affair with the white
- 12:18Speaker 1: lady next though, who name is Alex. That's very key
- 12:22Speaker 1: that you hear the name Alex, because we're gonna throw
- 12:24Speaker 1: a little drama on that name a little bit later on,
- 12:26Speaker 1: because I am wrapping up the season, guiding you to
- 12:29Speaker 1: the cliffhanger, which is gonna be the start on Tuesday,
- 12:33Speaker 1: March thirty. First, when this series just takes off. Everybody
- 12:37Speaker 1: get crazy. Everybody got to get crazy on this series, okay,
- 12:40Speaker 1: because we're trying to mcdonals telling you you gotta watch
- 12:42Speaker 1: your serious now. Now, Random he thinks that Alex has
- 12:47Speaker 1: his child. Why does he think that? Because the baby
- 12:51Speaker 1: got black features, dot dog, he's a white guy. He
- 12:56Speaker 1: refused to take the DNA because he no, he has
- 12:58Speaker 1: no black incest three in his life. But here's the
- 13:02Speaker 1: funny part about it Brad who's mad to Alex who
- 13:06Speaker 1: wants to get a divorce for Alex, and Randy who's
- 13:09Speaker 1: having sex with Alex. Right next door, Brad is dating Marcy,
- 13:14Speaker 1: who used to be married to random U. At this
- 13:20Speaker 1: point in the store, you're going rushan kidn't get any
- 13:23Speaker 1: deeper you doing rooting to because there's a bipole white
- 13:27Speaker 1: lady that lives across the street, who walks across the
- 13:30Speaker 1: front of the windows all the time. Reason she told
- 13:33Speaker 1: Natalie Natalie, I walk around, I walk around the hawks
- 13:39Speaker 1: in the nude. Natalie said, she did you close the
- 13:42Speaker 1: curtain the crazy bo white ladys said, I'm afraid of
- 13:46Speaker 1: the dark, so you look perplexed. Okay, Obviously she likes
- 13:57Speaker 1: showing the black man who is Randall sitting across the
- 14:01Speaker 1: street with binoculars. I would day something that is what
- 14:04Speaker 1: you call an obvious peeping tongue to be sitting across
- 14:07Speaker 1: the street with some binoculars, stand across the street in
- 14:12Speaker 1: the house, or the bipolar white lady who walks around
- 14:15Speaker 1: buck naked. Okay, cool. Now I'm coming to the end.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Replace with I hope you hate with me. I hope
- 14:21Speaker 1: I have said nothing wrong yet have an April Parker Jones,
- 14:24Speaker 1: everything still okay, cool, bringing on to the end. Okay,
- 14:28Speaker 1: here we go, now ben It, he's married to the
- 14:33Speaker 1: bipolar white lady. Then millennials. Okay, one day ben It
- 14:39Speaker 1: comes home the bipolar white lady. I gotta tell you
- 14:43Speaker 1: what's going on because she refused to take a madge.
- 14:45Speaker 1: That's why I keep mentioning that, because that plays a
- 14:47Speaker 1: big role in the series. She did take a madge.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Shouldn't you take a madge? She refused to take a
- 14:52Speaker 1: madge because she won't stay have a child. Well, guess what,
- 14:55Speaker 1: you gotta keep taking these madge. So Benny walks in.
- 14:59Speaker 1: One day she's painting. Guess who she's painting. She's painting Randall,
- 15:04Speaker 1: and guess what he's wearing. Nothing in the painting. He's
- 15:06Speaker 1: bucked it. Well, guess what. Betty doesn't take this too kindly,
- 15:14Speaker 1: so he's wrong saying death thread bomb on Randall's house.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna leave it at that, a death red bomb
- 15:21Speaker 1: on Randall's house. Okay, cool, We're coming to the end. Okay, now,
- 15:24Speaker 1: April Parker Jones, I have not made any mistakes chatting
- 15:27Speaker 1: the storytelling, Have I not? I'm leading you and guiding
- 15:30Speaker 1: you to the end of the fourth season, which is
- 15:33Speaker 1: gonna lead to a comatic and tremendous final fifth season.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Oh if Lover You was around produced by Tyler Packey. Now, okay,
- 15:41Speaker 1: Larry comes back into the picture, right Larry. Larry meets
- 15:46Speaker 1: with Eddie and we discover Larry likes Eddie. Dot do.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Eddie said, I don't roll like that. Larry said, yes,
- 15:56Speaker 1: you do. That's gonna happened in the fifth season. So
- 16:01Speaker 1: you gotta find out is Eddie like that or not
- 16:04Speaker 1: like that? Now? An he got bruises. Now if you
- 16:07Speaker 1: watch the end of the serious season and he got
- 16:10Speaker 1: bruises all over his face, you know why because Steven
- 16:13Speaker 1: beat him up. Who is stevens Esperanza. I don't want
- 16:18Speaker 1: to call him. I will not call him her man
- 16:20Speaker 1: because she's not having that type of relationship. But Stephen
- 16:23Speaker 1: has beating up with Eddie like like he wants to
- 16:27Speaker 1: pay man. Cool. Now we're coming down to the end here.
- 16:32Speaker 1: The DNA tests, the big DNA tests, So they give
- 16:36Speaker 1: him to the hospital. Alex is there, the doctor who
- 16:40Speaker 1: trying to maintain her license, is there to people who
- 16:43Speaker 1: can't speak there in the room, Larry walks in the room,
- 16:54Speaker 1: Randa walks in the room, reads the DNA tests. Randall
- 16:57Speaker 1: officially gets the word you're not a father. Randall stunned
- 17:01Speaker 1: because guess what the baby got black features. So to remember,
- 17:10Speaker 1: I said, somebody in turn doctor the attorney in. We're
- 17:14Speaker 1: about to bring him on back into the picture. At
- 17:18Speaker 1: the April's house, which is she plays the role of
- 17:22Speaker 1: Natalie and lu Shan Brad Co was into the house
- 17:26Speaker 1: with Alex, and Alex says, I don't want a divorce.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Brad said, you get a divorce. I need a witness.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Catches showing off guard, but he's a good at you
- 17:38Speaker 1: shoot cop, so he goes with the flow because MS
- 17:41Speaker 1: knows at April's character played by which is Natalie. She's
- 17:45Speaker 1: into everybody's to mix anyway, as they say, you know,
- 17:48Speaker 1: she's striking everybody coffee and nixing their teeth. That's what
- 17:52Speaker 1: she does on this show. Okay, because she stabbed pol
- 17:55Speaker 1: Randall even though that's another story. But that's enough. I digress.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Let me go to let me let me go to
- 18:00Speaker 1: the inn. As also wish you burned into fire too,
- 18:03Speaker 1: but that's another cease. That's another season we're trying to
- 18:06Speaker 1: get in the fifth season, It's finally here, the season
- 18:09Speaker 1: of celebration. And no matter how you celebrate with family

- 20:08Speaker 1: asked Marcy to marry him. Marcia is the ex wife
- 20:11Speaker 1: of Raddall. Okay, she said no Tom about Hey, let's
- 20:16Speaker 1: build this relationship a little longer. We've been you know,
- 20:19Speaker 1: get your freedom first, because he had not gotten his
- 20:21Speaker 1: freedom when he asked the marry even showed her to ring.
- 20:26Speaker 1: It's all official now in the House of Lashawn and Natalie.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Natalie plays the character characters played by April Parker Jones.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's official. The divorce gives it to the guy who
- 20:38Speaker 1: can't speak. He walks out with the papers. Then we're
- 20:44Speaker 1: getting closer to the end. Attorney end. He had met
- 20:49Speaker 1: earlier in an episode he had met Jennifer and I
- 20:54Speaker 1: mean Alex and thought she was Jennifer, somebody he had
- 20:58Speaker 1: dated on Facebook or Tender or some dating site. She said,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I've never met you in my life. I've never met
- 21:05Speaker 1: you in my life. She's very adamant, I've never met
- 21:08Speaker 1: you in my life. Well guess what he knew that woman.
- 21:15Speaker 1: So at the end of the episode, we know the
- 21:17Speaker 1: baby's not Randols, even though in his black features. We
- 21:21Speaker 1: know not Brad because Brad claims to be one white
- 21:27Speaker 1: Cliffhanger is and walking on the sidewalk. Ian grabs her.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I know you. You say your name is Alex, but
- 21:36Speaker 1: you're Jennifer. She said, would you get out of my face?
- 21:40Speaker 1: He says, hard for me to get out of your face?
- 21:42Speaker 1: When I got a screenshot at you on my phone,
- 21:49Speaker 1: Attorney in it's the father of Alex Baby. That is
- 21:53Speaker 1: the cliffhanger, along with Randolph got his house with a
- 21:57Speaker 1: bomb dropped on it. You don't know what are you
- 21:59Speaker 1: gonna do. You don't know if Brad and Marcia're gonna
- 22:03Speaker 1: get together. You don't know, if Espiraza is gonna get divorce.
- 22:06Speaker 1: You don't know. Stephen gonna beat up Eddie again, you know,
- 22:09Speaker 1: and if Lago get together with Eddie. You don't know
- 22:12Speaker 1: if Kelly gonna get out of jail. If you get
- 22:14Speaker 1: out of jail, it offers a Rick gonna be way
- 22:17Speaker 1: not and LEAs Shan he almost with your jail to
- 22:19Speaker 1: himself because he thought Kelly had ran away. That's the
- 22:23Speaker 1: fourth season at all encompassing seasons. If loving you're wrong,
- 22:28Speaker 1: it's wrong. Come on, Amy, Joe, did I deliver? Did
- 22:32Speaker 1: I deliver for you? I might as well just hang
- 22:35Speaker 1: up the phone, because you have delivered more than I
- 22:39Speaker 1: could have ever done. You said that you got it
- 22:40Speaker 1: all up and left. I know you left me on
- 22:43Speaker 1: my seat with Chris Tomorrow getting here. I'll tell you.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I had to tell you I loved your girl when
- 22:49Speaker 1: we got finished. We're gonna come back from this break.
- 22:50Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about the other great things movie you
- 22:53Speaker 1: got coming out this year. Uh that, Sean McDonald. I
- 22:57Speaker 1: gotta take this little quick break so I can catch
- 22:58Speaker 1: my breath. But as you know, the Cliff Ager starting
- 23:02Speaker 1: If Loving You Is Wrong. It's a Tyler Perry masterpiece
- 23:05Speaker 1: starring April fun Jones. Hi this with Sean McDonald. You're
- 23:15Speaker 1: listening to money making conversations. I've been having a lot
- 23:17Speaker 1: of fun talking to a guests on my show who
- 23:19Speaker 1: I met for the first time on my radio show,
- 23:22Speaker 1: on my talk show, on my podcast show. She's special
- 23:26Speaker 1: because she's a working actress. I'm telling yourself when I
- 23:29Speaker 1: say that, that's very important to understand because in this business,
- 23:34Speaker 1: you always have you always hear the word you're juggling
- 23:37Speaker 1: opportunities or if somebody you know, especially in this business,
- 23:41Speaker 1: sometimes you get you get the same opportunity on the
- 23:43Speaker 1: same day. And so what I love about your career
- 23:46Speaker 1: is that you know, going into the fifth season of
- 23:49Speaker 1: Tyler Perry and you've been working all this time on
- 23:51Speaker 1: other projects ABC, free Form, c W talking about walk
- 23:56Speaker 1: us through that whole process, and when you realize that
- 23:59Speaker 1: things are starting to get a little bit better in
- 24:00Speaker 1: your career. And we also won't get back to the
- 24:03Speaker 1: grand finale of the grand premier of the final season
- 24:08Speaker 1: of Love. But you have a career that we need
- 24:12Speaker 1: to we need to tell the fans about and also
- 24:14Speaker 1: well also congratulate you on thank you, thank you so much.
- 24:19Speaker 1: And uh, it's been a it's been a journey and
- 24:21Speaker 1: it's it's it's a continuous journey. In this industry, there's
- 24:24Speaker 1: an uncertain journey journey um. But that's that's what we
- 24:29Speaker 1: should success when we decided we want to be in
- 24:31Speaker 1: the entertainment industry, that it does come up with a
- 24:33Speaker 1: lot of uncertainty. But I've been blessed. I've been very
- 24:36Speaker 1: blessed because I haven't given up UM. And I encourage
- 24:39Speaker 1: your listeners if they are looking to pursue a career
- 24:43Speaker 1: in the entertaining industry that the biggest thing is just
- 24:45Speaker 1: to don't just continue to persevere and listen. It's it
- 24:49Speaker 1: took me ten years in Hollywood before I book this
- 24:53Speaker 1: Tyler Perry Um shows let ar was wrong and which
- 24:56Speaker 1: I was a period regular offside season. But it took
- 24:58Speaker 1: ten years of working up of that, UM and Uh,
- 25:01Speaker 1: I'm doing great shows, a lot of guest stars, a
- 25:03Speaker 1: lot of co stars, a lot of return roles on
- 25:06Speaker 1: awesome major networks. But I know that even in those
- 25:10Speaker 1: two years, the best to feel yet to come. There's
- 25:13Speaker 1: still so much, so much, bigger roles to come for me.
- 25:16Speaker 1: But I'm so grateful that I had a chance to
- 25:18Speaker 1: work with actors like The Bottle Days and UM and
- 25:22Speaker 1: uh of course working with Tyler Perry and working under
- 25:25Speaker 1: opens network own. I can't wait to see what works
- 25:28Speaker 1: in store. But it has to come with work. It's
- 25:30Speaker 1: come with work. It's come with a lot of rejection
- 25:33Speaker 1: to um. You know, if everything glue, it ain't gold,
- 25:37Speaker 1: you know, it's it's a it's a lot of being
- 25:39Speaker 1: told no, but learning how to celebrate the guesses. UM.
- 25:43Speaker 1: So I'm just I'm just really grateful for this opportunity.
- 25:46Speaker 1: And UM, I feel like that I'm leaving UM I'm
- 25:50Speaker 1: a bit about bit. As years go by, I feel
- 25:52Speaker 1: like I'm starting to leave a mark in this industry
- 25:55Speaker 1: UM and and leaving a legacy for myself and for
- 25:59Speaker 1: my children, UM and for to those who who do
- 26:02Speaker 1: look to me for inspiration, those small town young women
- 26:06Speaker 1: from from from places like during North Carolina. Um, so yeah,
- 26:10Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just grateful they could be talking to
- 26:12Speaker 1: you and grateful to be promoting the final season of
- 26:15Speaker 1: its Loving You Is Wrong. It's basically, you know, you're
- 26:18Speaker 1: on the show five five years and it and it
- 26:20Speaker 1: changed my life. It changed my life, and so to
- 26:23Speaker 1: see it comes to an end is it's hard. But
- 26:27Speaker 1: this all things have to come to an end, and
- 26:29Speaker 1: this one's coming to an end to make room for
- 26:32Speaker 1: the new things that are coming hopefully in the in
- 26:35Speaker 1: your future. Absolutely, I'm talking to April Parker John when
- 26:38Speaker 1: she plays your character Natalie on the hit the own
- 26:41Speaker 1: series is OW and Oprah Winfrey's Network. Um, If Loving
- 26:45Speaker 1: You Is Wrong? It premiers March Tuesday, March verse at
- 26:49Speaker 1: ten pm, and if you missed a premier, you can
- 26:51Speaker 1: catch it every Tuesday on Network'tend Eastern and Pacific nine
- 26:55Speaker 1: pm Central. It's called If Loving You Is Wrong. I'm
- 26:58Speaker 1: a fan of the show because classic typle pair, it's
- 27:01Speaker 1: classic tyle, it's messy, it's sex as iteracial relationships. It
- 27:06Speaker 1: got to find black dude and and you know it's
- 27:09Speaker 1: a form of that that works. And then you got
- 27:11Speaker 1: the nose, and that the character that let's take a little,
- 27:15Speaker 1: a little moment here because I got you on the
- 27:17Speaker 1: phone here with him, you know, because you know you're
- 27:18Speaker 1: trying to you know, to see I know your character,
- 27:21Speaker 1: your character one of my sisters always be getting on
- 27:23Speaker 1: my nerve, you know, be call all of me about
- 27:25Speaker 1: information I don't want. Okay, because your whole husband, he's
- 27:30Speaker 1: a good two shoe cop. That's Leshan Police officer le Shan. Okay,
- 27:34Speaker 1: and she already told somebody on the show that if
- 27:37Speaker 1: anybody is trying to mess with her husband, take her husband,
- 27:39Speaker 1: She's gonna kill him. She alwously not nothing noticed this,
- 27:42Speaker 1: And I see her character is kind of weird because
- 27:44Speaker 1: she's she's she's she's she's a nice, violent woman. Okay,
- 27:49Speaker 1: when I say that, it's nice problem, you know what
- 27:51Speaker 1: I'm saying, because I've never met a kind of like
- 27:54Speaker 1: a kind of like the neighborhood watch lady, and you
- 27:57Speaker 1: kind of you know what, what you have a viole
- 28:00Speaker 1: of tendencies that pop up on or you or you
- 28:03Speaker 1: let people know, don't don't don't take this nice only
- 28:07Speaker 1: one push. Yeah, she she she didn't walk around violent.
- 28:10Speaker 1: It's only only one pushed, and she's pushed, she has
- 28:13Speaker 1: no problem to push back, that's all. Yeah, there we go.
- 28:16Speaker 1: But she's married to a cop. Okay, so which lets
- 28:19Speaker 1: you know that she has a little protection on the side,
- 28:22Speaker 1: Paula Shard, you really don't know all these things about her. Okay,
- 28:27Speaker 1: he don't know. She's just aggressive. He knows that when
- 28:31Speaker 1: he walked through that front door. If the neighborhood got
- 28:34Speaker 1: a problem, his wife is gonna tell him about it.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Am I right? Oh yeah, she's gonna know. She's gonna
- 28:40Speaker 1: have the tea and the coffee and okay, okay, So
- 28:45Speaker 1: if she's studs favor for the fans. If loving you
- 28:48Speaker 1: is wrong, because I would. I mentioned you had Randall
- 28:50Speaker 1: and right across the street has been in and his wife,
- 28:53Speaker 1: you know, and then next door to Randall is uh
- 28:58Speaker 1: Is Bradon and alex Or slast Jennifer. They lived there. Okay,
- 29:03Speaker 1: everybody else where does ian live? And where do you live?
- 29:06Speaker 1: In relationships to that? To those homes? You know, what's
- 29:10Speaker 1: a really good question. I know I lived pretty street
- 29:14Speaker 1: from kean um H Randall's house, maybe two houses down
- 29:21Speaker 1: on the list. We're we're all Kelly is right next
- 29:27Speaker 1: door is around the corner. We're all pretty pretty close
- 29:32Speaker 1: FLX sim if you throw all rock you you love
- 29:35Speaker 1: will hit one of those characters you just named. So
- 29:37Speaker 1: we were close enough to know each other's business. Let's
- 29:40Speaker 1: just say that. You know, you know, I travel a lot.
- 29:43Speaker 1: My friends always they always laugh at me, or they go,
- 29:46Speaker 1: how do you watch all that television? How do you do?
- 29:51Speaker 1: They always amazed? But what they was I was a
- 29:55Speaker 1: traveling comedian when I started out IBM, when started the
- 29:58Speaker 1: career of comedians. So in a done cruise shift, just
- 30:02Speaker 1: like you said, that's a journey to where you for
- 30:04Speaker 1: me to be able to happen. You have this conversation
- 30:06Speaker 1: with you on my show, money making conversations, you know,
- 30:09Speaker 1: be able to say to create a level of respect
- 30:12Speaker 1: that people book you on the show, and you come
- 30:14Speaker 1: on the show go okay, we're trying to make you know,
- 30:16Speaker 1: I talked to him okay, cool. And so that's that's
- 30:18Speaker 1: the journey. Didn't get to there, you know, their peaks
- 30:20Speaker 1: and valids and a lot more values, because when you
- 30:22Speaker 1: look at it, it's not all bad because life is
- 30:25Speaker 1: not about you know, it's a concept. It's about living
- 30:29Speaker 1: and that's what you're saying, that team year gap, you know,
- 30:32Speaker 1: because she knows what we're talking about. You know, I
- 30:35Speaker 1: played that role where I was on in a film
- 30:37Speaker 1: or I was in a television show and they said, look,
- 30:40Speaker 1: you cannot speak. You sit there and uh, maybe one
- 30:45Speaker 1: day we'll give you a five and nothder five and
- 30:47Speaker 1: nothers five lines and nothing. That's when you when you
- 30:49Speaker 1: get that five and under and then you really rocking
- 30:50Speaker 1: the roll and then you can put an actual acting
- 30:53Speaker 1: a role on your resume credit credit. So a lot
- 30:56Speaker 1: of people they put extra acting roles on the resume
- 30:59Speaker 1: in beginning. They're just trying to get in. They trying
- 31:01Speaker 1: to fit in where they can fit in. They say
- 31:03Speaker 1: they act. They were owned Spider Man three, four and six, okay,
- 31:07Speaker 1: and didn't say a word. But guess what they got
- 31:09Speaker 1: to build that? I know? I don't I know that,
- 31:13Speaker 1: you know, that's what I thought, Spider Man. Come on, now,
- 31:15Speaker 1: what you know, April, what you're not gonna do is
- 31:17Speaker 1: come on my show and act like I don't know
- 31:19Speaker 1: who I'm talking to. That's what you're not gonna do. Now.
- 31:23Speaker 1: You know you're not gonna do me like that. Now okay,
- 31:26Speaker 1: because you were doing you if you played me, I
- 31:28Speaker 1: was Spider Man three, So I just grabbed Spider Man
- 31:32Speaker 1: out of the sky, you know, you know, I just
- 31:36Speaker 1: want in order to try to drive home plane. I
- 31:39Speaker 1: just want to point that out. And it was a
- 31:41Speaker 1: very small rule until yet. Hey, but there was your
- 31:44Speaker 1: point exactly. You did speak. It went down on you
- 31:50Speaker 1: as a crack. And then and then you take these
- 31:54Speaker 1: opportunities and people look at it like, okay, let me
- 31:57Speaker 1: bring her in for an audition. And then when you
- 31:59Speaker 1: have that audition, that's when you have to make it
- 32:03Speaker 1: that that that little credit that brought you in that
- 32:05Speaker 1: door has to become a reality because they're asking you
- 32:09Speaker 1: to perform to a level because there's an investment. People
- 32:13Speaker 1: understand that when you when you hire actors and directors,
- 32:16Speaker 1: and especially actors, they are important because they're reading lines
- 32:21Speaker 1: and these lines have to come to life in a
- 32:23Speaker 1: very realistic manner. Okay. And that's the most the biggest
- 32:28Speaker 1: blessings that I've had in my life is watching people
- 32:31Speaker 1: take scripts that I've written and bring them to life.
- 32:35Speaker 1: That's that's a meaningful thing. Talk to us about that
- 32:38Speaker 1: whole function of getting the script and being able to
- 32:42Speaker 1: prepare your your mindset and deliver these deliver character that
- 32:46Speaker 1: you feel you can deliver all the character they want
- 32:48Speaker 1: you to deliver. Welcomes to those steps April Parca Jones. Well,
- 32:52Speaker 1: it's just the steps that I use the journey for me,
- 32:55Speaker 1: it's just then to read the scripts and find them
- 32:58Speaker 1: and and see if there is a connection to the character. Um.
- 33:02Speaker 1: And it there is a connection, that just it helps
- 33:05Speaker 1: me to be able to portray that character in the
- 33:06Speaker 1: more realistic way. Um. Sometimes there's not always going to
- 33:09Speaker 1: be an instant connection to a character. So it's my
- 33:12Speaker 1: job as an actor to make choices about what I
- 33:16Speaker 1: can what I can what I could imagine about this
- 33:19Speaker 1: character that make it relatable to me so that we're
- 33:23Speaker 1: not betray it. It's realistic because it makes it makes
- 33:26Speaker 1: the viewer feel a certain emotion. So that's that's my job, um,
- 33:31Speaker 1: And that's probably a lot of actor's job is to
- 33:33Speaker 1: find either a way to connect themselves connect character if
- 33:37Speaker 1: there's not an immediate one, that to create a choice
- 33:40Speaker 1: that makes that character could connect connected with them so
- 33:44Speaker 1: that it's realistic. And these actors are just portraying reality.
- 33:51Speaker 1: We're trying to react realism. So in order to do that,
- 33:56Speaker 1: we've got to make it fit force. So that's that's
- 33:58Speaker 1: the Nigerian It's that's challenging, but that's why we do
- 34:03Speaker 1: it to grow and to get better. And I hope
- 34:06Speaker 1: that you're the years I've been able to make the audience,
- 34:09Speaker 1: make the viewer you know that my portrayal was real. Um,
- 34:14Speaker 1: that's that's my journey to make to make that that
- 34:16Speaker 1: character feel real to that person. So I think I've
- 34:20Speaker 1: been able to come. You have you have talking to
- 34:22Speaker 1: April Parker Joanes ap April a pj as I like
- 34:26Speaker 1: the call. And then they only hit series on Network
- 34:30Speaker 1: called If Loving You Is Wrong Again? Premieres UH Tuesday,
- 34:35Speaker 1: March through the first. If you missed the premier, don't
- 34:38Speaker 1: miss the premiere. First of all, I said, everybody help,
- 34:40Speaker 1: let you know that that that that Turney in and stop.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Alex slash Jennifer on the block on the sidewalk and
- 34:48Speaker 1: accused her. And he's confronted us saying, hey, is that
- 34:51Speaker 1: black child my child? That's your clip pain right there? Now?
- 34:56Speaker 1: That don't drive you back to watching the show. You
- 34:59Speaker 1: got a problem. Let me just remind you what to
- 35:02Speaker 1: expect in the upcoming fifth and final season of If
- 35:07Speaker 1: Loving You is Wrong, You got Larry. He's into everybody's business.
- 35:11Speaker 1: He hounds the case for Kane. Travis Kane. Who Kelly?
- 35:15Speaker 1: You know she's in jail for the murder of Travis Kane. Now,
- 35:19Speaker 1: Travis Kane is important because Kelly is not going to
- 35:23Speaker 1: be represented by a public defender who is being led
- 35:26Speaker 1: on the side by turney In and turning In works
- 35:30Speaker 1: for the law firm that represents Kane, which is Larry.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Larry's already hinted that there can be a relationship that
- 35:38Speaker 1: he needs to have a relationship with Eddie. Eddie said,
- 35:41Speaker 1: I don't walk like that. He said, yes, you do.
- 35:45Speaker 1: That's another reason you watch. Do you have Stephen out there?
- 35:49Speaker 1: He wants a bigger relationship with Esperanza, who's fine is hacked.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Now I understand from a physical staffer why he wanted
- 35:56Speaker 1: to get with crazy Esperanza. But so he all to
- 36:00Speaker 1: beat up Pole Eddie wants it may be another beat
- 36:03Speaker 1: up for Eddie or guess what, Eddie might go to
- 36:05Speaker 1: the gym and learn how to beat up him this time.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Then you have Paul Randall. Paul Randall he's at the
- 36:11Speaker 1: house by himself, bend it and dropped the bomb depth
- 36:14Speaker 1: threat on his house. Can't tell you what happened. You
- 36:17Speaker 1: gotta watch the series to find out. Then you got
- 36:20Speaker 1: Ben it's bipolo wife. Reason not to bring that up
- 36:23Speaker 1: because she refuses to take her meds. Is drawing it.
- 36:27Speaker 1: It's painting new photos or new portraits of Randall, who
- 36:30Speaker 1: lives directly across the street. Now if and then you
- 36:34Speaker 1: have Lucien Good at two shoot, then you have Officer
- 36:37Speaker 1: Rick who's out there touching leave a little touches to
- 36:41Speaker 1: make you believe there might be some interest for him.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Into Paul Kelly who's sitting behind jail and one jump suit.
- 36:47Speaker 1: She's tied of hair still comb. I don't know how
- 36:50Speaker 1: to hairstand coach standing that combing the jail, but the
- 36:52Speaker 1: hair stays comb. Then you have Paul Natalie walking a
- 36:56Speaker 1: mile again her groceries. I don't understand that in the
- 37:00Speaker 1: year in the year we have uber today, she got
- 37:03Speaker 1: the call, but she walks a mile one way and
- 37:06Speaker 1: then she walks a while back the other way with
- 37:08Speaker 1: her groceries. Randall thought that was the craziest thing he
- 37:11Speaker 1: had ever heard in his life and laugh real loud.
- 37:13Speaker 1: That that is a wrap up of season one, two, three, four,
- 37:17Speaker 1: leading into a tremendous fifth and final season April. If
