- 0:00Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest.
- 0:03Speaker 2: After circling the world with her twenty twenty one smash
- 0:05Speaker 2: Better Days, UK singer May Muller is back with her
- 0:08Speaker 2: debut album, Sorry I'm Late. While May previously put out EPs,
- 0:12Speaker 2: finally releasing her full length it took five years, and
- 0:14Speaker 2: she's telling Songwriter Universe she literally grew up writing it,
- 0:18Speaker 2: saying I wanted to be a love letter to finding
- 0:20Speaker 2: herself and growing as a woman in music. I always
- 0:23Speaker 2: felt like I had to be the version of what
- 0:25Speaker 2: I thought a strong woman was. When I was writing
- 0:27Speaker 2: all those breakup songs, I put myself up on a
- 0:30Speaker 2: pedestal where I had to beat this confident person all
- 0:33Speaker 2: the time. That's definitely a side of me. But when
- 0:35Speaker 2: I was writing this album, I found that there's a
- 0:37Speaker 2: lot of strength in vulnerability and we should be allowed
- 0:40Speaker 2: to show that and be proud of that. That's what
- 0:42Speaker 2: May Muller says, and she hopes that's what people get
- 0:44Speaker 2: from her new album, Sorry I'm Late, which is out now.
