- 0:00Why fuck you motherfuckers, how you doing tonight?
- 0:03I'm around these fucking people for another gosh
- 0:07darn week! I hate to advice. I really hate you
- 0:10doing that. It hurts so much. It really hurts.
- 0:14That's UAD if you've never met UAD before. You
- 0:16don't want to meet him. You do not want to meet
- 0:19him. I promise you that. No you do not. What's
- 0:23the word? Yeah, UAD is such an awful individual.
- 0:25Very crazy one of the side characters of a...
- 0:29the Bugpusters and the Weenie Boys as we call
- 0:32ourselves, our whole entire friend group. I'd
- 0:36much rather just have Brad come along. Fucking
- 0:39Brad, man. I miss Brad so much. Brad and Brad's
- 0:43wife. Anyways guys, welcome back to the second
- 0:50week in a row, finally. I can't believe we've
- 0:52done that all season, where we've done two weeks
- 0:53in a row. I don't think so. It's been a while
- 0:57since we did two weeks in a row. Probably like
- 0:58maybe this time last season, so. Yeah. We're
- 1:02back the night of the 15th of December. One night
- 1:07past the Erie Otters honoring the passing of
- 1:12owner Jim Walters, who passed away Friday morning.
- 1:15Waters. Did I say Walters? Yeah. I meant to say
- 1:17Waters, I apologize. Jim Waters, who passed away
- 1:20Friday morning, just completely unexpectedly,
- 1:22you know. Just an absolutely tragic and devastating
- 1:25loss to not only I'm sure the Waters family,
- 1:28but the entire city of Erie the entire Erie Otters
- 1:31organization Just just completely unexpected.
- 1:34It was gut -wrenching. Also, I remember me and
- 1:39Colin were just sitting there at a playstation
- 1:40shed. He goes, wait, what? And he's like, dude
- 1:43the Otters owner just passed. I was like, what?
- 1:46And yeah, just it was pretty awkward couple moments
- 1:49of silence. I think we're both trying to process
- 1:51it and just try to sit there to try to confirm
- 1:53if that was true or not and Very sadly it was
- 1:57and you know, like I said, it's you can't even
- 1:59it's not even it's an unimaginable tragedy for
- 2:02something like that to happen especially so unexpectedly
- 2:04and and for somebody that meant no just I think
- 2:08what Kyle said this I'm sorry was only half my
- 2:10intention That meant so much not only to the
- 2:14players and to the team the franchise as a whole
- 2:16as the Savior but the city just like I feel like
- 2:21the whole city just kind of slumped into a deep
- 2:25dark depression after that announcement was made
- 2:28by the team, by the local news cast people and
- 2:32the vegan. I knew after I found out the news
- 2:35I'm like my whole mood just changed the rest
- 2:38of the name. Yeah this man he's the reason we
- 2:41still have one of the main reasons we still have
- 2:44or said one of the main if not the main reason
- 2:46we still have hockey in Erie to this day you
- 2:48know he saved us. back in 2015, he bought the
- 2:51team off of, I think it was off of Sherry Bassin.
- 2:54And he's the reason we still have hockey in Aerie
- 2:57to this day, you know. Obviously because of that
- 2:59we got to see another championship here in Aerie
- 3:01in 2017. I think it was just even more sad, in
- 3:05fact, they came literally two years after buying
- 3:09the team like that championship. Yeah, two years
- 3:11after, I mean, as I got to meet and be a part
- 3:15of the organization of some amazing players that
- 3:17have obviously... Gone up to the big leagues
- 3:19now, you know, Alex Dobrinkid, Dylan Strom, Travis
- 3:22Dermott, Max Imovich. He just missed McDavid.
- 3:24He just missed McDavid. Yeah, the Radish brothers,
- 3:26you know, Sorelli, Fogel, all those guys from
- 3:29that 17 company team. I know Dylan Strom was
- 3:33one of the first players to actually, like, react
- 3:36to. And I saw a couple of NHLers, like, also
- 3:41the former Otters, that reacted to it, so. Yeah,
- 3:44and so far I've only seen No, I could have missed
- 3:47the rest of them. I've only seen two other OHL
- 3:50teams say something. Peterborough and Kitchener
- 3:55are the only two that I have seen. I could have
- 3:57missed the rest of them. Sue did. I know I did
- 3:59see Sue also. She said something. I know they're,
- 4:03you know, hockey affiliates. Oh, not affiliates.
- 4:07Like, we have the... And I saw, like, Saginaw's
- 4:12Twitter page, they posted the loss or whatever,
- 4:14and even Saginaw fans were commenting, like,
- 4:16you could tell Yeri was playing for that man
- 4:17tonight, like, just because they were the better
- 4:20team and just outplaying him, like, they did
- 4:22everything in their power to get that win for
- 4:24him last night. An 8 -2 win, let alone over the
- 4:27Saginaw's team. It was a beat down for sure.
- 4:31I mean, five first period goals, two, like, three
- 4:33of the first eight shots went in or something
- 4:35like that. First shot of the game of the game
- 4:38not the first otter shot the first shot of the
- 4:41game Sneaks past Sam Alfano scoring in I think
- 4:44the first three or four goals every single person
- 4:46pointed straight up, you know Yeah to the to
- 4:49the rafters, you know, that one was for you Jim
- 4:51and I think every single one was Every save Noah
- 4:54made was for him and I've saved the night the
- 4:57win was for him as well They gave Jim all waters
- 5:00my goodness gracious. Jim waters the first star
- 5:03of the game Obviously for that for a reason and
- 5:08it's just a very devastating loss for it for
- 5:10the city They already had already planned their
- 5:16game worn jerseys they were wearing last night
- 5:18their ugly sweater jerseys I don't know um like
- 5:21all the donations of those years was going to
- 5:24hit to the entire waters family I think it was
- 5:26originally supposed to go to a different it was
- 5:28a different cause but they ended up changing
- 5:30and saying I know these zero going to To the
- 5:33Waters family. So Pannell actually got interviewed
- 5:37at the end of the first period. And this is what
- 5:41he said, honestly it's unexplainable. Jim gave
- 5:44so much to us as a team. Now this is the least
- 5:46we could do to pay back to him. So obviously
- 5:50that's what... was discussed between him and
- 5:53his teammates amidst the hot start yesterday
- 5:55in their first period. You guys, you know, fortunately
- 5:57got to experience that for the first day up here.
- 5:59Yeah, and I don't know if you saw the video that
- 6:01they posted that they played in the arena. They
- 6:04ended up posting the full video to Twitter and
- 6:06to the social medias and just hearing that video
- 6:09of everything that Jim said and then thinking
- 6:12about it. Wow, like that's Probably one of the
- 6:14last clips that they have of him, you know One
- 6:16of the most touching things that he has said
- 6:19and that's you know, I'm gonna be is one of his
- 6:20biggest memories that we have of him And hearing
- 6:23that being played knowing that he's no longer
- 6:25with us was definitely a tough listen But is
- 6:28also he just like emotional but at the same it
- 6:31was a good emotion at the same time. Yeah, it
- 6:32was like wow, that's Like I know with she for
- 6:37currently being at the lineup doing the world
- 6:39juniors like he did in it like during his interview
- 6:43like around the for the world juniors he um mentioned
- 6:48that like one of his last conversations was with
- 6:52jim waters earlier in the week like jim waters
- 6:54joke and like was like it's like we don't so
- 6:57i really wish we weren't losing you like or like
- 7:01not being on the team right now but like shaver
- 7:05obviously laughed and he's like jim waters always
- 7:08said like he's always been there for him like
- 7:11he's he he knows what he's doing is for best
- 7:15for him and then he said when as the when world
- 7:18juniors get certainly say he's playing for him
- 7:21and his mom and he says it's like this tournament
- 7:23is for them and that yeah and we know that every
- 7:26game from here on out for the honors this season
- 7:28is going to be played for him like that's i don't
- 7:31think that's even i think that's a given i don't
- 7:32think that's even in question that every single
- 7:34game this year is now going to be played in his
- 7:36honor and for him every single win is going to
- 7:38be dedicated to him. If you haven't seen that
- 7:43video that they played pre -game and now have
- 7:45posted to various social medias, go check it
- 7:48out, take a listen to it. It's a pretty touching
- 7:51video. But any who onto some of the news and
- 8:13milestones around the OHL One of the big ones
- 8:17that surprisingly on beginning of the week also
- 8:20generals were the head coach Steve O 'Rourke
- 8:22in an interim assistant head coach Brad Malone
- 8:27as head coach which honestly I was kind of a
- 8:29little For the fact that obviously you had your
- 8:33runner -ups in the of last year's final finalists
- 8:40against London a year after making the finals.
- 8:45And they're literature right now sitting first
- 8:48in a division right now of the East and they're
- 8:53second in the Eastern Conference right now and
- 8:57they've fired them. So there's something. There's
- 9:04gotta be something going on behind the scenes
- 9:06there. yeah obviously you don't want to make
- 9:08assumptions like that but that's that's that's
- 9:11eerily peculiar that's yeah that's why i was
- 9:13like when i saw i was like what like one plus
- 9:17one does not equal two in this scenario like
- 9:20so that was honestly was kind of yeah um and
- 9:25i was sticking with the australian general zone
- 9:27luca morelli signed a three -year entry -level
- 9:29contract with the columbus blue jackets and then
- 9:34sterling December 11th, Jordan Charing of the
- 9:39Sioux Grounds gets his first career OHL goal
- 9:41for the Sudbury Wolves. Chicago Blackhawks prospect
- 9:45Alec Farian of the Sudbury Wolves gets his first
- 9:49career OHL hat -trick and Kieran Walton of the
- 9:52Sudbury Wolves gets his 100th career OHL planet.
- 9:57Martin Vicalek of the Brankton Steelheads gets
- 10:01his first career OHL goal versus the Brankford
- 10:03Bulldogs. Jake O 'Brien of the Brantford Bulldogs
- 10:07gets his 100th career OHL point and is the fastest
- 10:11Bulldog to reach that milestone. Landon Hookey
- 10:17of the OSU on attack gets his first career OHL
- 10:20hat -trick versus the Guelph Storm. And then
- 10:24one milestone on the on the 12th, Ethan Toms
- 10:28of the Osho Generals played in his 100th career
- 10:31OHL game versus Peter Bo Peets. To December 13th
- 10:38Harrison Franzen gets his first career OHL goal
- 10:41for the North Bay Batallion I don't know why
- 10:43I didn't put the team he was playing that night
- 10:46but Alexander Stevens of the Brampton Steelheads
- 10:50gets his first OHL goal versus Sudbury Wolves
- 10:54and Luke Misa of the Brampton Steelheads sets
- 10:57the record at 132 for most assists in the franchise
- 11:03And on the 14th, Adam Kelly of the Kings and
- 11:06Frontenacs gets his first career OHL goal versus
- 11:08the Guelph Storm. Zachary Genovosky of the Guelph
- 11:14Storm in 32 seed gets his first career OHL win
- 11:18in a shootout. Nathan Day of the Flint Firebirds
- 11:24gets his second career OHL shutout versus the
- 11:27Owen Sun attack, which ties the franchise record
- 11:30for most shutouts in a single season with Luke
- 11:33Cavalyn in the 21 -22 season is the most shutouts
- 11:37as well in the franchise. That's crazy. They
- 11:40only have two shutouts in the 10 years Flint
- 11:44and Benetski. Two. 10 years. Wow. Embarrassing.
- 11:54Andrew Willis of the Eerie Otters. The Otters
- 11:56have like three this year alone. Yup. Andrew
- 12:01Willis of the Erie Otters gets his first career
- 12:04OHL point off of a Wesley Royston goal and Sam
- 12:08Alpham gets his second career OHL hat -trick
- 12:11against the Saginaw Spirit and then as of today
- 12:16the 15th Daniel Chan of the Brantford Bulldogs
- 12:19gets his first career OHL goal first to Kingston
- 12:22Frontenac. Awesome. Last night we took the W
- 12:26out of Saganah. Saganah, again. Saganah. No,
- 12:30just to talk a little bit more about last night.
- 12:32Going into the third period, no one really started
- 12:35the game, but Charlie Burns went in for the third.
- 12:37I didn't see anything. I don't know if anything
- 12:39happened to Noel towards the end. Somebody said
- 12:42they thought it looked like he got slashed in
- 12:44the hand towards the end of the second period.
- 12:47But it could just be for rest, just because he
- 12:50has played a lot of games recently. you're up
- 12:53five goals i mean you know or they're just giving
- 12:55charlie just giving some charlie some time because
- 12:57no it wasn't even on the bench for the third
- 12:58period so usually that usually that means injury
- 13:00i'm guessing an injury or some sort of illness
- 13:02yeah you just got sick maybe you got sick in
- 13:04between intermissions um but who knows also i
- 13:08think it was also comments in the third period
- 13:10nicolas hall and mego went down with an injury
- 13:12that one was um which even i don't even agree
- 13:16with the penalty So I ended up getting a five
- 13:20-minute boarding penalty for it and a game misconduct.
- 13:23I don't agree with it personally I didn't even
- 13:25think that it was that person of a call I didn't
- 13:28think it was a call I don't think it was a penalty
- 13:30whatsoever and they were looking and they were
- 13:32looking at it for good five ten minutes and they
- 13:34still decide it's a five -minute penalty. Yeah
- 13:36it was Jimmy and Zachalek number 71 for boarding
- 13:40and that. Five minutes for boarding and then
- 13:43a misconduct as well. Cuz I don't necessarily
- 13:47agree with I guess I initially didn't see the
- 13:49play because there was a like something was happening
- 13:51in the otters Offensive zone at the time like
- 13:56we like we got to break away and we're about
- 13:57to take a shot and they blew the whistle and
- 13:59we didn't I Saw them both go down. I heard I
- 14:03heard I saw them both go down I saw a hit against
- 14:06the board, but I thought it was just a routine
- 14:08It literally looked like just like a routine
- 14:09takedown like a routine hockey takedown. All
- 14:11of a sudden Hall and Nego didn't get back up
- 14:14and Yeah, they looked at it and they said this
- 14:16five -minute boarding penalty again, which I
- 14:18didn't even agree with personally. I honestly
- 14:20didn't agree with it either. Like even our friend
- 14:24Anthony who sits in front of us, like we were
- 14:27talking about like he even... He's like, I didn't
- 14:29see what happened. I don't see anything that
- 14:32should have been a call. So we brought up the...
- 14:34I mean, did it matter? No, we were still up by
- 14:36four goals. Maybe I think it might even have
- 14:38been seven to two already by then. It was already
- 14:40because they ended up scoring the... We scored
- 14:42on that power play, which I think made it eight
- 14:44to two. Yeah. It didn't matter regardless, but
- 14:49again, I think we definitely got away with a
- 14:51call there. I don't think it should have been
- 14:53called. And we thought it was maybe it was originally
- 14:55a slew foot. They were looking for a slew foot
- 14:57or something. But looking back at it, we're like,
- 14:59there's nothing that they should be calling.
- 15:00And they still ended up calling the five minute
- 15:02boarding penalty. No, take it away again. Our
- 15:06power play still sucks. Announces something on
- 15:10that because I know there probably will be potentially
- 15:12something. Yeah, I guess two things around I
- 15:14guess the first goal score and then the second
- 15:17short the second penalty or the second penalty
- 15:19kill for the shorty I was like maybe too much
- 15:21death for a shorty here and then boom we scored
- 15:23a shorty And the thing that you have to me and
- 15:26Kyle always do the uh -oh uh -oh That also worked.
- 15:30It also worked twice Kyle did the first time
- 15:33uh -oh uh -oh pass score maybe one of the other
- 15:39two goals that happened shortly in the first,
- 15:41I did it, uh oh, uh oh, boom. When you score
- 15:46eight goals, a couple of things that you say
- 15:48are eventually gonna work, so. Yeah, it was a
- 15:52great, just an amazing night, like a storybook
- 15:54night, like I said, first shot of the game goes
- 15:56in, and you immediately point to the Raptors
- 15:58for Jim, and like, I can just. It's a storybook
- 16:02night, man. Like, a hat -trick was scored, you
- 16:05know, an amazing performance from our starting
- 16:08hole tender, not Andrew O 'Kee. He wasn't very,
- 16:10he wasn't O 'Kee that night. Which, one thing
- 16:13I saw was kind of a crazy fact going into that
- 16:15game. Obviously, it's now at least three or four
- 16:18at this point. Sabbath gave them more than six
- 16:22goals in the last, like, three or four games.
- 16:25Each of their last four games, yeah. They're
- 16:27not in a very good patch right now. both their
- 16:30goals where they need their lord and savior uh
- 16:32no one will want to be the backup again i said
- 16:34honestly i like well he'll definitely put a couple
- 16:38more he finished he finished like 15 and two
- 16:41in the regular season last year or something
- 16:42like that like he was like on a like force like
- 16:45he's where's he now he's with kinkston now then
- 16:47he can't his home But Noah had a lot of really
- 16:57good saves Saginaw's backup had a lot of really
- 16:59nice saves there in the third period there So
- 17:03very easily could have ended up being a 10 to
- 17:0511 to 2 kind of game, but Like I said a storybook
- 17:10night just that's exactly everything that you
- 17:12wanted to happen it needed to go right went right
- 17:15and happened last night, so Just an amazing a
- 17:18huge win for eight for the for the otters and
- 17:20is that a night an altogether? Win for the night
- 17:23for for eerie and for for the water family For
- 17:28now I've secured that fourth seed spot in the
- 17:33West because it's huge in that game Determine
- 17:38like if Stagnum won that they would have regardless
- 17:41of the OT or not like they were going they would
- 17:46have took it forth but so obviously the next
- 17:49time the honors and sour meat will be january
- 17:5110th on connor mcdavid night so i'm so excited
- 17:55for that i kind of love cinema the way i kind
- 17:58of made a joke they're now like can this happen
- 18:02that night like like how they're playing tonight
- 18:06can this happen every night no let's score nine
- 18:09goals and have 97 shots on the night but Yeah,
- 18:16that was Definitely was was a great game last
- 18:20night. Yeah This is gonna get me thinking here
- 18:25Not obviously not knowing what the whole Noah
- 18:29or blind situation is Is he healthy? You know
- 18:33what what what's hurting? Please please please
- 18:37please Let it not turn into another goalie situation
- 18:41last year it was me and kyle were walking out
- 18:44of the arena last night i told kyle i'm hoping
- 18:47because we don't obviously know what it is what's
- 18:50happening though we said um i'm hoping it was
- 18:53maybe just a one night that kind of thing like
- 18:57maybe he just got sick in between periods maybe
- 18:59i don't know or just resting or maybe just he
- 19:02pulled something getting off the ice or something
- 19:04it could have just been like a freak really he
- 19:05just pulled something getting off the ice or
- 19:07walking to the lot who knows I never know what
- 19:10could happen though. I think there's going to
- 19:15be a little bit of a scrum there toward the end
- 19:17of the second maybe after the whistle blew the
- 19:19end of the second maybe he got caught up in something
- 19:21there that could be my only guess or something
- 19:24happened on his way over the gut chipped on his
- 19:26way over to the bench I don't know I said I wasn't
- 19:28paying much attention there so yeah just hope
- 19:31it's okay hope it doesn't turn into a goalie
- 19:33situation like last year So we've already called
- 19:36up and sent back down a lot of players so far
- 19:38this year. Speaking of goalies and speaking of
- 19:41Benny Goudreau, how about him getting his first
- 19:44official AHL win in his first AHL game? His first
- 19:49game, his first win for the Rockford IceHogs.
- 19:52Who did it beat? Was it Bakersfield? I can look
- 19:56back on that. Former Erie Otter, Otter's legend,
- 20:00Benny Goudreau, Goudreau, however you want to
- 20:02say it. First win. Love to see it for him. So
- 20:06awesome. Can't wait to see him hopefully. Milwaukee.
- 20:10Milwaukee. The admirals, right? Yeah. Yeah. Which
- 20:13that's Nashville's. Nashville's. Nashville's
- 20:16affiliate. And then obviously Rockford is Chicago's.
- 20:20So you possibly can see him playing for the Blackhawks
- 20:22here. Next upcoming years here. Have him be playing
- 20:26alongside Connor Bedard. That'd be pretty cool
- 20:28to see. That would be awesome. Would be awesome.
- 20:31Yeah man, that's. Let's go for Benny. Hell yeah.
- 20:33Let's go, Otters. Hell yeah. One thing I kind
- 20:35of, might as well, because I did see it in the
- 20:38AHL, um, just last, kind of late last night,
- 20:45um, the, um, Belleville Senators, they, um, did
- 20:49a, like, like, Dean night to throw back to the
- 20:53Belleville Bulls there in their OHL days. Oh,
- 20:55did they? Like, they literally went, went back
- 20:58to their OHL, um, had their theme jersey and
- 21:02everything as the Belleville Bulls. They like
- 21:05to honor them. They brought the J. Ross Robertson
- 21:08Cup to celebrate the 98 -99 season championship
- 21:13team. So they had a bunch of like the former
- 21:17owner, the Belleville Bulls. And that's pretty
- 21:19cool. And more players from that team celebrate
- 21:22the name. They revealed a Belleville Bulls banner
- 21:26for their time in the OHL. that's pretty cool
- 21:30there's that and there's been actually because
- 21:32with the potential oho expanding here like with
- 21:36their it's just two teams by next season or um
- 21:40there's just within the last week and a half
- 21:43there's been rumblings that um belville might
- 21:47could potentially come back as into the o again
- 21:50and that i saw what youngstown is one of the
- 21:52teams youngstown muskegon because they they had
- 21:56just literally um The commissioner of the OHL,
- 21:59he went to visit both facilities like just this
- 22:04past week, last week, and kind of was potentially,
- 22:09because I know both the USHL and the OHL kind
- 22:15of have to have a rough estimate like what's
- 22:20the plan for next season, if they are going to
- 22:24be in by next year or not. could potentially
- 22:28see that here. That's interesting. I know they're
- 22:30saying like if that does happen there's most
- 22:31likely going to be some sort of expansion draft.
- 22:34Because I know there's been a lot of rumblings
- 22:37because ever since the NCAA kind of that vote
- 22:43was official that players who are already committed
- 22:47to teams in the NCAA are playing for OHL, CHL
- 22:51teams. Or vice -versa players that are already
- 22:57committing to colleges already in the NCAA, so.
- 23:03Yeah. Clint, you better say something. You were
- 23:05waiting to say something. I'm just doing a little
- 23:08research here. It can wait till we're off the
- 23:15air. Right. Well, we're still on the air. Let's
- 23:19pull up good old Puck Doku and get that rolling
- 23:23here. Going across, for the Columns, we have
- 23:30St. Louis, Tampa, and Winnipeg. And for the Rose,
- 23:34we have Toronto, LA, and 100 % assist in a career.
- 23:42Off the bat, we can do Ryan Reeves for Toronto
- 23:47and St. Louis. Looks I don't think he'd fit anywhere
- 23:52else except All right, all right Toronto Tampa,
- 24:01so I'm trying to think I'm like Not domain ever
- 24:08played for Tampa Well, I'm LA st. Louis Wayne
- 24:15Gretzky, yeah, yep For the whole, I think, 20
- 24:20games he played for the Blues. 20 games, so 20
- 24:23games. For the Blues, 100 assists can be anybody
- 24:27that's played there a while. Ryan O 'Reilly.
- 24:29Tarasenko. Tarasenko. Brett Hall. Alright, Tampa
- 24:38100 assists. Again, it can be Cooch, Stamkos,
- 24:41Braden Point. Marcus St. Louis. Marcus St. Louis.
- 24:45Lacavier. Lacavier. This can be Blake Wheeler,
- 24:53Mark Shieffley. Anybody there? Alright, so we
- 24:59just need Toronto, Tampa, Toronto, Winnipeg,
- 25:02and then LA, Tampa, LA, Winnipeg. LA, Winnipeg,
- 25:08Ilya Kovalchuk, I believe, right? Because this
- 25:11counts the Atlanta... He played for LA, I'm pretty
- 25:15sure, didn't he? I'm quite positive. I'm pretty
- 25:22confident in that. That was a table, I swear.
- 25:29Sure. I think I'm just overthinking this. Coble
- 25:36Chuck played for Atlanta, which that would still
- 25:38technically be the Winnipeg franchise. Yeah,
- 25:40but he did play for L .A. I'm pretty sure he
- 25:43did. I think L .A. was the first time he played
- 25:45for when he came back. He came back and I think
- 25:50he played for L .A. and then I think he went
- 25:52to Washington. Both were very brief, brief stances,
- 25:58but... Oh, um, L .A. and... I don't know if it'd
- 26:07work because... Just spit it out. Um, Eric Cernak,
- 26:11because he was initially drafted by L .A. Did
- 26:14he play any games? That's what I'm trying to
- 26:15remember. I can't remember if he did or not.
- 26:18If he... After he got drafted he came back to
- 26:21Erie and then I don't know if he When he went
- 26:24back up he got just played for Tampa. It's all
- 26:27my only question That's well hold on to that
- 26:31one. Well hold on I was that someone when I Tampa,
- 26:34Toronto this one should be so much easier, but
- 26:36I can't think of anything Brian Elliott, I don't
- 26:42think he ever played for the Leafs. What about
- 26:44what potato radish? Because and I'll get a little
- 26:49state in Tampa mostly in Chicago. Did he do up
- 26:53in Toronto? Because I know Darren has spent his
- 26:56whole time in Oh No, where's Darren drafted Darren
- 27:03was drafted by I think Tampa Okay, because he's
- 27:09been for a while. He goes with the Syracuse cross
- 27:11Okay, so he was sort of drafted by Tampa, okay
- 27:16Vandercain never played for LA or Toronto. Where's
- 27:23Nick Paul been before Tampa? Ottawa, Tampa. I
- 27:32don't know if it's Toronto or LA. Damn. Andre
- 27:39Johansson, the back of goalie for Tampa. Where
- 27:44has you been before Tampa? I think he's only
- 27:47been on Tampa. But I'm pretty confident in the
- 27:52LA, Atlanta, or the LA Winnipeg with the LA Colton
- 27:54Chuck. I'm pretty confident. Nice. Yeah, look
- 28:06he has a Washington Jersey on this picture. Since
- 28:10we're blanking A, would you want to try to throw
- 28:12a tourniquet there? For the LA Tampa Cuz I know
- 28:17he was I just don't know if he just played for
- 28:20a game It says 2018 so possibly not then so like
- 28:26if he played for LA it would have been like 16
- 28:2917. Yeah, cuz he was drafted the same year as
- 28:33Oh, um Ryan McDonough did he ever play for LA?
- 28:39No, he's been one stint with The Rangers, two
- 28:43stints with Tampa, and one stint with Nashville.
- 28:46Nashville, okay. Damn, ah. Toronto -Tampa should
- 28:53be so easy. Why can't I think of one? Toronto
- 29:00-Winnipeg should also, I think, be pretty easy.
- 29:04Bufflin never played much. I think he only really
- 29:07played Atlanta -Winnipeg. And Chicago. Why are
- 29:19we blanking so hard on this one? Andrew Ladd.
- 29:22I'm thinking of guys that are like early in the
- 29:25Winnipeg relocation. Like Brian Little, Andrew
- 29:31Ladd. Did Brad boys ever play for... I know Toronto,
- 29:36St. Louis. Boston, I think you had a little bit
- 29:39of time with. Yeah, never would pay up north
- 29:44too much. Wow, yeah, this one's tough. And we
- 30:02got nothing else. Just put Eric Chernek in there
- 30:04anyway. I mean, in LA, but. throw it in there
- 30:08we were already put blank in anyway no he did
- 30:13not play okay i knew he was dropped i just didn't
- 30:16know if he ever played wish we had hints on this
- 30:18one like we do on the pyramid I'm trying to think
- 30:35like some of like the old players that have played
- 30:38for Toronto over the past couple years like Marlowe
- 30:42Giordano Marlowe never played at Tampa, right?
- 30:47No Joe Thornton No Boston only Boston Toronto
- 30:58and San Jose the Sharks Florida too I'm blanking.
- 31:09Well, that's more like Mark Recky. I know he
- 31:11played for a frick ton of teams. Frick ton of
- 31:14teams, huh? Frick ton. Nice frick mouth you got
- 31:17on there, son. Frick, frick, frick. I got nothing.
- 31:24Yeah, I'm out. I'm done. Yeah, I'm blanking.
- 31:27All right, well. Let's, uh... Let's do the stats
- 31:37here. Nick Antropov. I was right on the fuckin'
- 31:42early, like early in the... Zach Pekodosian,
- 31:45Kobe Armstrong, Oyo Kanan. David Riddick. Big
- 31:48save Dave Riddick. Ron Jordan. Eben. Ponikarovski.
- 31:53Riley Nash. Eric Fair. Toronto Tampa. David Andruchuk.
- 32:00Luke Shen. Darcy Tucker. Brian Boyle. Gary Roberts.
- 32:07Riley Nash again, Greg McCaig and Vinnie LeCavlier
- 32:14We fucking said him earlier when we were talking
- 32:18about Tampa. I know Tanner, did you know that's
- 32:21a recent one? We should've been. Ben Bishop.
- 32:25Brian Bottle again. Fox. Wow. Alright. Darn.
- 32:31Hurtle? Hurtle into the pyramid and then Hurtle.
- 32:34Let's do the pyramid. So anybody that's ever
- 32:41played for Buffalo, let's go Brad May. The first
- 32:47one that popped in my head. Honor of Regeneron
- 32:49that we just played, that I heard about last
- 32:51week. So who has played 500 games and that has
- 32:54played for Buffalo? Eichel? Yeah, Jack Eichel.
- 33:00Has he played 500 yet? With all the injuries
- 33:02he's faced? He's been in the, for almost a decade
- 33:06now. Has he? Fair enough, yeah. He had 2015.
- 33:10Yeah, okay. 500 games, 250 assists, has played
- 33:14for Buffalo. Erasmus Dalling, has he gotten,
- 33:17or no, he's not in 500 yet. Probably not. I'm
- 33:20thinking like somebody like Eric Stahl. Has he
- 33:22had 250 assists in his career? Eric Stahl, with
- 33:25his - Or like, maybe Taylor Hall. Taylor Hall
- 33:27definitely has. Small. Let's choose the right
- 33:33one this time. The top, wait, 83 to 88? And they
- 33:37have to play for the Islers, correct? Yeah. Islanders
- 33:41and Sabres Robert Leonard Yeah, there's no way
- 33:49he's gotten 250 says He played for Islanders
- 34:10Panthers, Islanders, the Dinosaur. Al Boboso.
- 34:15Yep. Paid for Bob, Buffalo, Islanders, Florida.
- 34:18No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait,
- 34:20wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. That top one, we
- 34:22can use him for the top one for Stanley Cup Winter,
- 34:24then. Okay, well, then, we also have Sam Reinhardt.
- 34:29Did he play for the Islanders? No, he did not.
- 34:31Fuck me in the ass. So let's use a lifeline for
- 34:34this one to get this Panthers one. Wait, whoa,
- 34:39there's three now player card get stashed for
- 34:42a current player. You know fuck that We'll do
- 34:45film a blank Thomas Vannock. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah,
- 34:50we can use cow a puzzle for the top one, right?
- 34:56Yeah Yeah, yeah Yeah That was pretty simple.
- 35:08That was pretty easy. And we missed Ryan Miller
- 35:13again. This one doesn't piss me off as much,
- 35:18but I mean... We were in the mind of skaters
- 35:22for this one, so... We already had goaltenders
- 35:25on our mind last week and still missed it. Let's
- 35:28do the hurdle now then. If you guys haven't heard
- 35:30of hurdle, it shows you a silhouette of a player's
- 35:34headshot and you have to guess who the player
- 35:36is. That almost looks like it could be like Jeff
- 35:40Skinner or something. Hold on. I think it's curtain
- 35:44only. Oh. Yeah, it's curtain only. No. So we
- 35:51got the position right. So Jeff, how this works
- 35:52is everything's white, so none of the things
- 35:54in white is correct. But we know he's a center.
- 35:57That's all we know. Green means you're correct.
- 35:59Which means he's not even in the west. He's an
- 36:01eastern conference player. And then yellow means
- 36:04you're close. So like... If age, so since Jeff
- 36:07Skinner is 32, if it was yellow, but it's still
- 36:10pointed down, you're gonna be aiming for like,
- 36:11I think 31. 20, 27, 28. I think it goes within
- 36:16two years. It'd be 30 to 34. So I think he'd
- 36:19be below the age of 30. Well, the arrow helps,
- 36:21so it'd be 30 or 31. But obviously, it's gonna
- 36:25be well below 32. So it's like 29, 28. Something
- 36:28below 29. So everything that's green means it's...
- 36:30It's correct. So he's also his... Same for the
- 36:33jersey number, which means his jersey number...
- 36:35It's probably below 50. Okay. 50 or lower, for
- 36:39the number at 30 or lower. So we'll choose a
- 36:40random center in the east. And he's not Canadian.
- 36:43He's not Canadian. Okay, that's actually what
- 36:45I was going to ask, is this set, because it shows
- 36:47nothing for... Yeah, that one will be yellow.
- 36:49That'll just be green or nothing. Okay. Let's
- 36:51choose an American center in the east. Let's
- 36:55go... Jack Hughes? No, he'd be 86. So that wouldn't
- 36:58work. Um... Uh, Panarin is... Oh, no, he's older
- 37:04than that one. Is he? I thought he might be like
- 37:0930. Well, with the silhouette that won't work.
- 37:16Yeah. What about like Lafrenier? I don't know
- 37:20what his position is though. He's the center.
- 37:23He's the center? Let's go with him. I see Lafrenier.
- 37:28Second one, second one. Okay, so he's in the
- 37:31east. He's 23. He's young. That's good jersey
- 37:34numbers somewhere between the 16 to 50 range.
- 37:37He's a he was Canadian though. So All right his
- 37:41center that hasn't is a left wing so he's in
- 37:44the Atlantic division Okay, so looking through
- 37:48the teams. Let's go through the teams Boston
- 37:51Florida. Oh Boston who are the centers? Zach
- 37:56Zach has not American and he's over Charlie coil
- 38:01and he's old Yeah. He's older, yeah. Dayton Heinen's
- 38:06still over in Boston. I thought he was in Vancouver.
- 38:10Oh, he is now, that's right, yeah. Okay. I can't
- 38:14remember the other two players. Pull the silhouette
- 38:19back up again. Buffalo. H. Thompson's young,
- 38:26but he's not 23 young. Yeah. Could be like Owen,
- 38:31no, because he's a center. Yeah, I see he's a
- 38:35defenseman. Could be like a J .J. Paterka. I
- 38:39don't know what his position is though. He's
- 38:41all... No, he's a four. He's a four, but I don't
- 38:47know if he's a center or not. Let's just do it
- 38:48just so we can maybe get a better estimate on
- 38:52the nationality. I don't know what his nationality
- 38:54is. He's Dutch, okay, so... okay so we also yeah
- 38:59we know it's in the Atlantic give another still
- 39:02not really much help on his jersey number oh
- 39:05my god daniel boston detroit could that be like
- 39:13that could be like adb what's his number over
- 39:15there 93 93 okay obviously can't be patrick kane
- 39:21because i think he's still 88 over there yeah
- 39:23yeah could be somebody like teresenko what's
- 39:26his number over there oh he's russian Okay, well
- 39:29that doesn't be so know if he's American enough
- 39:31so he could still be Russian. Oh, that's right
- 39:34They're saying cut that was 91. Is he 91 over
- 39:37there? He'd be Cain and Teresanko are all He's
- 39:48also pirate around that age too, I'm thinking
- 39:52well between now Raymond and who's the center
- 39:55on the Kuturov Brayden Point. I don't think that's
- 40:01Brayden Point. So what were you thinking Louis
- 40:05Raymond? He's Swedish. Oh that's right. I was
- 40:15right on he was that young still. Oh yeah I do
- 40:18remember. No because Brayden Point is 20 so we
- 40:21know he's not. It can't be Brayden Point. I think
- 40:23his number is 20 isn't it? Brayden Point? Yeah.
- 40:27Also, it could be it could be point because it's
- 40:29between 13 and 23 so it could be braiding point
- 40:35No, okay, so it is number like 19 or 20 could
- 40:44be oh can be like Riley Smith So he could still
- 40:53be American he could still be Russian I think
- 40:58of low numbers. So we need to think. Boston.
- 41:06Boston, Toronto, Ottawa. Montreal. Could it be
- 41:10like a Tim Stutzla? He's German. His number...
- 41:16I think he's like 19. I believe he's a center
- 41:21and he's still young too. Goes Tim Stutzla? Nah,
- 41:24he's older, okay. Who are you thinking? I was
- 41:26initially thinking Matthew. Matthew. Oh my god.
- 41:30He's 18. So his number has to be 19 or 20. 19
- 41:34or 20. 23 year old. That's not German, Canadian,
- 41:39Swedish. No, Dutch. Or Dutch, sorry. That's Dutch,
- 41:43Swedish, or Canadian. So it could be American,
- 41:45Russian, German, Finnish. That part is, I know
- 41:50it's not good. We're thinking Toronto. Toronto,
- 41:57Montreal, Florida, what about Cole Caulfield?
- 42:01No, because it would be his number by 22. No,
- 42:03his number is 13 now, that's right. He did change
- 42:06it to just this year. Suzuki? No, his hair is
- 42:11not like that. What's his number though? Are
- 42:16these numbers like 18 or 14 or something like
- 42:18that? Damn. I say it's not... Kachak either.
- 42:23I feel like we just gotta start naming players
- 42:25just to try to get the team. We only have two
- 42:26guesses left though. Damn. This is a lot harder
- 42:35than I remember it being. I remember I used to
- 42:36do these ones everyday like I did Pukdoku. We
- 42:48gotta throw a player there at least to try to
- 42:49get the team. Just throw a leaf out there, go
- 42:58like Marner. What about Nick Robertson? I think
- 43:05he's 20. I don't know his position, or if he's
- 43:10even still with Toronto. I think it's technically
- 43:14Nicholas Robertson, but yeah. Oh my god, he's
- 43:19American, he's American. All right, so. One guess
- 43:24in American 20th an American 23 year old center
- 43:28on either Boston Montreal or Florida Kachuck
- 43:36is too old my dad. Yeah, it's this wise. I know
- 43:39it is he Chuck is still young. He's not 23. He's
- 43:44not 20. He's like 24 because the number His number
- 43:51would fit but just his... Sam Reinhardt is also
- 43:56not that young. Pulled up one more time. I'm
- 44:04just trying to picture that fucking hair. Like
- 44:06who had that little piece of hair sticking up
- 44:08in the back air? Oh my goodness. An American
- 44:16-born center. 23 years old. Where's the number
- 44:2319 or 20? No, it's not Brady either Yeah, so
- 44:31Boston, Florida He waits for dead silent My god.
- 44:56Damn. Pull back up again. Oh my gosh. Sorry.
- 45:05I got nothing in. Oh my god. Mick Cousins? What's
- 45:09his number? Is he even still in Florida? I don't
- 45:14know where he is. I got nothing. Yeah, neither
- 45:22do I. I want to say it's Florida. Just put Kachuk.
- 45:28I mean I don't think he's that young. I mean
- 45:31he's even a center. No. He's a left winger. He's
- 45:34a winger. John Beecher. I never would have gotten
- 45:39that. Nope. Never in a million years would I
- 45:41have gotten that. Yeah, same here. Never in a
- 45:44million years. All right. Try and add something
- 45:49new this week. Just to kind of... Doing a test
- 45:52run just to kind of see how we like them on what
- 45:56this is it It deals with the drafts on it's either
- 46:00higher So there are two players either say higher
- 46:04lower the same So I see For example for like
- 46:10their draft pick. Yeah, so it doesn't have to
- 46:12be the exact same year. It's just as long as
- 46:15they're it can be either in the same class if
- 46:18they're higher or lower or whatever or different
- 46:21class from each so like we can say you know 15
- 46:24or 2 2014 what it was that Connor McDavid drafted
- 46:28higher or lower than yeah yeah and that's actually
- 46:34so for example like what constant of this one
- 46:37would do economy David was awesome awesome Matthews
- 46:41higher or lower than Connor McDavid same yeah
- 46:45it'd be neutral cuz obviously Matthews was drafted
- 46:48in 2016 for Picked first overall by Toronto and
- 46:52then economy David was picked first overall as
- 46:55well by Edmonton Second one was Higher lower
- 47:01neutral at getting Malkin or was he drafted higher
- 47:05or lower than Patrick Hornquist? It's higher
- 47:09way higher. Yeah, yeah Since so for that if I'm
- 47:12not mistaken, but Patrick Harkness is mr. Irrelevant
- 47:15like to 215 or something like that Again Malkin
- 47:202004 picked by Pittsburgh second overall in the
- 47:25first round in in Patrick Larnquist was drafted
- 47:28in 2005 In the seventh round Yeah, like 36 overall.
- 47:35I swear I will What I wrote I had it but yeah,
- 47:41and then um, and then this one Ryan Miller Jonathan
- 47:44quick was Ryan Was Ryan milk I'm trying to reword
- 47:51it how I was right no draft higher or lower than
- 47:54yeah Yeah, right higher or lower than ooh I Think
- 48:05that one was fun because I figured the chips
- 48:06one of the two best I'm actually gonna go lower
- 48:08with this one. I do think I do remember I thought
- 48:11Miller ended up being a lot lower than or he
- 48:14should have no lower. Sorry You guys are actually
- 48:18correct. He was lower on he obviously drafts
- 48:21in the 99 draft by Buffalo 138 overall in the
- 48:25fifth round 12 overall and then Jonathan quick
- 48:29was drafted to 2005 Bay LA 72nd overall in the
- 48:34third round in the third Yep, these are just
- 48:42examples so you might potentially see more in
- 48:45the future. I like that, yeah. If we want to
- 48:46bring more of those back next week, I definitely
- 48:47like that. Another weekly occurrence, Colin has
- 48:52some more blind rankings for us. Alright, we're
- 48:54going to do at least two of them, maybe three,
- 48:56time permitting. Looking at the time here at
- 48:59Studio, it's starting to get pretty late. So,
- 49:03players on new teams. Like that have changed
- 49:06teams this year? Yeah, veterans that are on different
- 49:09franchises. the first one up is steven stancoast
- 49:13okay obviously made the switch from tampa to
- 49:16based off of his place so far this year so far
- 49:19this year or we didn't like his career well so
- 49:21far this this year i'm the new team on the franchise
- 49:24well that's like a four yeah he's not the whole
- 49:27national as a whole is not performing well i
- 49:30know they think they just had the coaching change
- 49:32um if i'm not if they didn't then need to Yeah,
- 49:37they are not do I still all those big sign I
- 49:39think they also sign what John's and Marsha show
- 49:41Marches Oh, and there's one other name that they
- 49:43signed to that Stevenson. No, he went to Seattle
- 49:45Yeah, he went to Seattle Yeah, Stevens damn cause
- 49:52has been I still don't like one other big signing
- 49:55that Nashville made this off season. I can't
- 49:57remember who All right second one up the list
- 50:01Tyler Brutus you oh Okay, he's with what? Chicago
- 50:06went from Toronto to Chicago another one Chicago
- 50:09has not been playing pretty well at all I know
- 50:12Connor but Darwin's even say like he's been frustrated
- 50:15Yeah, obviously again. It's a sophomore slump
- 50:19in that yeah, so I mean, but I don't know how
- 50:22well Bertuzzi himself is yeah I do feel like
- 50:30he might end up throwing like some really really
- 50:33shitty at us Some I almost want to put him at
- 50:36three because like is it for Tuesday's folder
- 50:39is in his team phone. Yes So I almost want to
- 50:43put him at three That's kind of where I was cuz
- 50:45he is still kind of younger. So he you know Not
- 50:49too used to changing that much stamp goes is
- 50:52a lot more veteran He should know how to deal
- 50:55with the change. Well, you know, he's been with
- 50:57Tampa out until this point. Yeah Third up on
- 51:02this list Jake to brusk He's doing really good.
- 51:09That might be our one slot right there. I'm trying
- 51:11to think of some bigger names that I switched.
- 51:15I want to say two for now. He's got the hint
- 51:20on first again. That's why I'm not falling for
- 51:23it again because obviously we did it with Ryan
- 51:26Miller last week. Number four on this list. If
- 51:34he didn't look down, I would have looked over
- 51:35it again. I wouldn't have turned my head again.
- 51:38Number four on this list. Elias Lindholm. Lindholm?
- 51:42I don't even know where he's playing. Is it Boston?
- 51:45Yeah, Boston. Five. I mean, I haven't heard much
- 51:49of anything from him this year. I mean, he doesn't
- 51:53really have a whole lot of points, and he's playing
- 51:56alongside David Postonok. I remember doing my
- 52:00research on him before. before you guys give
- 52:02over. He's playing with Boston on the number
- 52:04one line right between Pasta and the Rams. Yeah,
- 52:08and he only has 14 points in 32 games so far,
- 52:11so. And the last one, the number one, Jake Gensel.
- 52:15Jake Gensel, yeah. Number one, I mean. Yeah.
- 52:17Honestly, I could see him going down to two and
- 52:19switching with Debrusk. I think one and two are
- 52:21interchangeable. But he scored in their game
- 52:24last time. He was on a six game goal streak right
- 52:27now. Gensel, is he? Yeah. I know Debrusk is also.
- 52:29I think he might be. Top two for random for Vancouver
- 52:32in touring Honestly, that one was pretty good
- 52:38one way I wouldn't really change. I would only
- 52:40really change your cheap Nebraska Jake Denzel
- 52:43Yeah, Nebraska has 14 goals in 29 games for total
- 52:4623 points You know for Vancouver, that's probably
- 52:51Pretty damn good. So I know Vancouver isn't the
- 52:55top top team in the Pacific Division, but they
- 52:58still are a formidable foe for anybody. For the
- 53:02fact they also just got Thatcher Demko back from
- 53:05injury and that. So that's going to be huge for
- 53:07them. I mean, Dabrowski is fourth in points,
- 53:11only behind the better player. Connor Garland
- 53:13is up there, wow. Yeah, behind the last Pedersen
- 53:15and Clint Hughes, is what I mean. Did he have
- 53:18those two players playing ahead yet? You can't
- 53:22talk shit on being number four if those two players
- 53:25are above you in the stands. Take number four
- 53:29and run with it, because you'd probably be the
- 53:31number one player or the number one points -getter
- 53:34on the team if you're somewhere like Buffalo
- 53:37or Pittsburgh or Chicago. Take it while you can.
- 53:43Next up, top goalies so far this regular season.
- 53:49First up is Jacob Marks from Okay, he's what
- 53:54in New Jersey now, yeah, there's that think is
- 53:56like second of the division They're doing really
- 54:01well I know they go up to a slower I think they've
- 54:04won the first two games in Prague and then they
- 54:06went on a losing streak and Dropped like I think
- 54:08like five of the next six or something like that.
- 54:10Yeah, but now they've been doing pretty good
- 54:11I think they're setting like 20 and 12 or something
- 54:13like that. They are 20 10 and 3 they're at 43
- 54:17points second of the division Only to Washington.
- 54:21Washington has four games in hand. And they're
- 54:26four points up in Carolina. Again, Carolina has
- 54:29three games in hand. So the very worst they can
- 54:31do right now is drop down to third. Okay, I'll
- 54:35put him at... I'm trying to think of any goals
- 54:39that have been rock -solved this year. I know
- 54:42there's a couple. There's better. I can aim a
- 54:45handful. So we can put him right in the middle
- 54:46at three, or we can put him at two. For safe,
- 54:51I want to put him in three just to be safe three
- 54:54All right second up in this test Darcy Kemper
- 55:02Okay, he's Washington isn't LA LA. Okay. Yeah,
- 55:08let me take me just off his starting role to
- 55:12big big same day but then he's also been injured
- 55:15a bit this season so Dave Riddick the starter
- 55:18yeah he's been so fucking hot maybe they've been
- 55:21back and forth and Riddick has been yeah Dave
- 55:25didn't really get a good start and then when
- 55:27Kemper got a good side got sidelined with an
- 55:29injury and Riddick was named the official number
- 55:31one that's amazing okay almost doesn't seem fair
- 55:36to put Kemper at four because of that injury
- 55:38but I think we almost have to I mean with he's
- 55:43he just hasn't gotten enough play time to show
- 55:45if this is actually gonna be a consistent thing
- 55:49Or if he just had a kind of a little streak Yeah,
- 55:54I say I'm gonna say for us to see him in the
- 55:57next goal we on the list Kind of are an unfair
- 56:00advantage. I'll share why once we get there.
- 56:02I'll say for I Mean hopefully it turns around
- 56:08And we're still semi early in the seasons. We're
- 56:11stuck in here. We're under almost half. About
- 56:14like a third of the way through the season. Next
- 56:17up, Linus Almark. I know he has struggled, but
- 56:22when you go from a killer Boston team with a
- 56:26lot of people that can play defense in front
- 56:27of you to Ottawa. Honestly, going into this,
- 56:34I knew this was going to be, Almark was going
- 56:37to not that he's going to have a lackluster year.
- 56:40Yeah. Pretty much. Compared to last year, yeah.
- 56:42I mean, yeah, but then again, Boston. Pretty
- 56:44much compared to two years ago. But again, Boston
- 56:47versus Boston. It was two years ago when he had
- 56:49that like 40 -win season when Boston won like
- 56:51fucking 65 games or whatever. And set like a
- 56:55franchise record. NHL record. The best regular
- 56:59season in history, and they went on to lose in
- 57:00the first round. To Florida. To an 18th -paced
- 57:05Florida table, who almost won the cup that year.
- 57:07Believe it or not. Do we want to put him all
- 57:10the way at five? I think we have to. I... Who
- 57:13else could he throw on here though? What are
- 57:14some other goalies that have changed teams? Oh
- 57:17no, not changed teams, just... Goalies this season.
- 57:21Who have performed well. Oh, just who have performed
- 57:23well. Okay, that was the last one. You have players
- 57:24that have changed. I think I'm still gonna put
- 57:28him at five though. Yeah. I have two names in
- 57:30my head that I feel like he... At least one that
- 57:32I think he's gonna throw. Yeah. I do too. Imposter!
- 57:36A ton more better goaltenders have done so much
- 57:40better. I'm thinking of who you might be thinking.
- 57:45Yeah. Goal number four, Andre Vasilevsky. OK.
- 57:52He hasn't been as sharp as he has been in years
- 57:56past. I know he was fighting injuries last year,
- 58:01and he probably still is just kind of getting
- 58:03back to himself. I know where I want to place
- 58:06my last two, but obviously I know the right -
- 58:09That was not one of the names I was thinking.
- 58:11I have two names in my head that he might do
- 58:13for the last one. I said I had two as one. Because
- 58:16of the names that I have in my head, I'm going
- 58:17to put him at two. I'm also going to put, say,
- 58:20two as well. I'm just trying to make sure I can
- 58:27type his last name right. Who do you think I
- 58:31have on my list? I'm between either Oddinger
- 58:33or Flurry. I'm between Hellebuck or Onager. Well,
- 58:37you are both wrong. I have Mr. Dustin Wolf. Okay.
- 58:42Okay. Yeah, I mean that sounds like a good list
- 58:44then. He's been fucking, he's been killing it.
- 58:46For as the only C is, being a rookie and he's
- 58:48kind of been thrown into that starting position
- 58:50almost. A Calder favorite. Oh, for sure. I did
- 58:52think of Flurry, but I didn't want to put him
- 58:55on this list because I wanted to throw you guys
- 58:57off a little bit. Oh, I was definitely throwing
- 58:59this off. Yeah. I was waiting for him to pop
- 59:02up. That's why I kept putting everybody so low.
- 59:04I don't want to get screamed at again. I would
- 59:07have given you guys a hint if it was flurry.
- 59:09I would point back out the jersey again. Yeah,
- 59:12we'll give it. I think we still have time to
- 59:15throw this third one in here. Alright, alright.
- 59:18So the best sounds in hockey. The best sounds.
- 59:22Okay. Number one, clear tape going on the stick.
- 59:28Kind of thing. That's a very satisfying sound.
- 59:32Yeah. You know, there's probably some players
- 59:34out there that are like, oh, one baby, number
- 59:36one. But I definitely already have ideas in my
- 59:40head for what he might throw in here. But that's
- 59:43pretty solid. But I'm thinking more like in -game
- 59:49action sounds that he might throw in. That might
- 59:51be a lot better. So I'm gonna put this one down
- 59:53at four. Really? It's still a very solid sound,
- 59:58but I feel like he might have a lot of in -game
- 1:00:00sounds that are a lot more satisfying. So you
- 1:00:04hear that Jeff because they're I personally there's
- 1:00:09better slightly better ones number two the crowd
- 1:00:13booing I Mean depends. Are we booing because
- 1:00:18the ref made a shitty call? Are you the home?
- 1:00:21Are you crowds booing at you or the wait? Are
- 1:00:24you booing in a wave team because it's the Penguins
- 1:00:27versus the Flyers rivalry? Are you booing because
- 1:00:30just how terrible the The product was on the
- 1:00:34ice like performance wise. This one could be
- 1:00:37right in the middle I think because of that because
- 1:00:39there's a lot of good qualities for it, there's
- 1:00:41a lot of bad qualities for it. So I think that's
- 1:00:43a good right solid middle tier. Number three,
- 1:00:48the goal horn. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. That's probably,
- 1:00:51that's almost half of the number one. I mean
- 1:00:54the only time it's not when you're down 8 -0
- 1:00:57and you score a goal you're like, oh whoopee.
- 1:01:00Again! Again! No, like you're down eight to nothing
- 1:01:03and then you finally pot one. You're like, oh
- 1:01:05yippee boy, we scored one. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm
- 1:01:07sorry, I'm sorry about that. So, number one?
- 1:01:10All right. You can do one or two. Ah! It is such
- 1:01:19a good sound, but it can be bad at the same time
- 1:01:21too. Just like number three. Two? Yeah. Two?
- 1:01:25Two, okay. Number four. Chirping. These are more
- 1:01:37happy to more actions than sounds I mean like
- 1:01:40these last two of the crab booing and chanting
- 1:01:42and chirping is like more actions and sounds
- 1:01:46A good fucking church man can really said to
- 1:01:51over the edge. I have a feeling what he might
- 1:01:53put for one, but I don't know put this one at
- 1:01:54five I know, I almost know what he's gonna put
- 1:02:03for one. But it's not, I don't wanna put this
- 1:02:06at five. I don't either. But I feel like we have
- 1:02:09to, because I have a feeling what number one's
- 1:02:10gonna be. And number one. Yep, yep. Yep. It's
- 1:02:22so good when it happens to, when it happens against
- 1:02:24you, like cross bar and off. That's what I thought
- 1:02:25you were gonna do, cross bar and out. But now
- 1:02:29bar bar your opponent hits the crossbar and goes
- 1:02:31away It could be but but team bar down the scores
- 1:02:36bullying goes in. Yeah, that's okay. I was close
- 1:02:39I was pretty similar, but I was thinking on the
- 1:02:42other spectrum for that. See the same sound just
- 1:02:45different outcome pretty much All right one couple
- 1:02:51of things to touch on here the couple of trades
- 1:02:53that happened Throughout the week Back on the
- 1:02:57ninth, Colorado Avalanche acquired goaltender
- 1:02:58Mackenzie Blackwood, Giovanni Smith, and the
- 1:03:02fifth round pick in 2027 from the Zanon Jose
- 1:03:04Sharks, in exchange for goaltender Alex Georgiev
- 1:03:09for Nikolai Kovalchenko, a fifth round pick in
- 1:03:112025, and a second round pick in 2026. This one
- 1:03:16kind of came as a shock to me, a huge shock to
- 1:03:17me, but I know that goaltending has been where
- 1:03:21Colorado has been struggling a lot this season.
- 1:03:23That's been their biggest struggle. Georgia for
- 1:03:27Blackwood. I don't know if I agree with that
- 1:03:30one. Not 100 % on that if I'm gonna be honest
- 1:03:35with you. That one was definitely I think they
- 1:03:38could have gone after somebody a little bit better
- 1:03:40than that. And one that I thought not funny but
- 1:03:44just kind of ironic. St. Louis Blues acquire
- 1:03:46defenseman Cam Fowler in fourth round pick in
- 1:03:48the 2027 NHL draft exchange for defenseman Jeremy
- 1:03:56Plus you. Thank you. And a second round pick
- 1:03:58in the 2027 draft. What I found just strange
- 1:04:01about that is literally like three days prior,
- 1:04:04Cam Fowler had just became like second for games
- 1:04:06played for Anaheim. And literally like three
- 1:04:09days later, they're like, all right, thanks,
- 1:04:10Cam. Later. Peace out, girls. I was like, what
- 1:04:14the hell? They were just saying, oh, thank you,
- 1:04:16Cam, for playing here as long as you have, but
- 1:04:19we're trading you. And then they said, oh, Cam
- 1:04:23Feller's second all -time for games played for
- 1:04:25the Anaheim Ducks. Two days later, they treat
- 1:04:26him like, thank you, Cam, for all the time you
- 1:04:28spent here. We know you spent a lot of time and
- 1:04:33things in your career to help us out, but big
- 1:04:37little finger, man. One other last little thing
- 1:04:40here is somebody put together a roster that if
- 1:04:47Team Russia Yeah, we're to be put into the four
- 1:04:51nations face -off and I want to discuss that
- 1:04:52roughly the guys see if you think Who should
- 1:04:55be in there? Maybe somebody who shouldn't? But
- 1:04:57oh, yeah For the fours we got Panarin Malkin
- 1:05:01and Kuturov Kaprizov, Buchnevich, Svechnikov
- 1:05:05Ovechkin, Barbashev, Valeriy Nishuskin and Matvei
- 1:05:11Michkov, Vlad Nemesnikov and Kirill Marchenko
- 1:05:16Defense we got Mikhail Sergeyev, Dmitry Orlov,
- 1:05:19Alexander Romanov, and Dmitry Kulakov. My sweetie,
- 1:05:22oh my god. Vladislav Gavrikov, and Artem Zub.
- 1:05:27And in gold tenders we got Vassi, Shosturkin,
- 1:05:30and Bobrovsky. Scratchers being Evgeny Dadinov,
- 1:05:35or extra's being Evgeny Dadinov and Ivan Prokhorov.
- 1:05:40I mean, it could be a good lineup though, if
- 1:05:42you know. No, I'm not gonna say that out there,
- 1:05:44that's, nope. That's a conversation for off -the
- 1:05:47-air. I think it's obviously a pretty damn good
- 1:05:50list. It's a very good list. It really friggin'
- 1:05:54is. Off the top of my head, I can't think of
- 1:05:56any Russian players that should be on that list
- 1:05:58that aren't. To be honest with you. So it's a
- 1:06:02very, very, very good roster. I think that team
- 1:06:05could possibly end up winning the whole thing.
- 1:06:09I don't know. Cam, obviously, is still pretty
- 1:06:11fucking good. Yeah. Yeah, this thing I don't
- 1:06:17think we mentioned this last week But this is
- 1:06:19just because I think this might have just happened
- 1:06:20earlier this week Yeah, that one Soto contract
- 1:06:23that's seven hundred and sixty five million dollar
- 1:06:25contract closely. You're the one that sent this
- 1:06:28This is a tweet from puck report at NHL Other
- 1:06:31than seven contracts in NHL history to combine
- 1:06:33first to hit on sorry There have been seven contracts
- 1:06:36in NHL history that have hit a hundred million
- 1:06:39dollars in total value all seven combined Still
- 1:06:42do not reach the contract that one Soto just
- 1:06:44signed Those players being Alex Ovechkin, Leon
- 1:06:48Draxidle, Shay Weber, Sibdekid, Ilya Kovalchuk,
- 1:06:53Nathan McKinnon, and Connor McDavid. Combined,
- 1:06:56that total reached $753 .2 million. $12 million
- 1:07:01shy of this contract I want so to sign. That
- 1:07:04just tells you, like, number one, how overpaid
- 1:07:08some of these and well -being pairs are. And
- 1:07:11number two, like, just the salary cap. not restrained
- 1:07:15but like it's the same for that same for the
- 1:07:17nfl too like it seems like every year we get
- 1:07:19a new oh he's the highest played quarterback
- 1:07:21and he's the highest paid player in nfl history
- 1:07:23then mahomes signed the contract oh mahomes is
- 1:07:26the highest paid and then oh then it was two
- 1:07:28attack of my level for like two days and then
- 1:07:30it became jordan love then it became cj str -
- 1:07:32like it's like every i don't think cj strike
- 1:07:35is like his second year but yeah jordan love
- 1:07:36is only had one good starting year like oh let's
- 1:07:39pay him 55 million fucking dollars And just to
- 1:07:44look at it, like... And don't get me wrong, these
- 1:07:46are all great players, like Jordan Love, he had
- 1:07:48a great season. I don't think he's a little bit
- 1:07:50too early for that. Can he eventually earn that?
- 1:07:52Possibly, but still, $55 million a year. And
- 1:07:56just to look at it, like, comparing the salary
- 1:07:59caps that I believe the NBA is under, and NHL
- 1:08:03is under, versus, I know the NFL, their salary
- 1:08:06cap is a little bit looser than... Then, you
- 1:08:09know, the other two leagues. And MLB doesn't
- 1:08:11have a fucking salary cap. Because of how many
- 1:08:13games, respectively, how many games they play
- 1:08:15in a single season. Yeah, I think it's ridiculous.
- 1:08:18And, you know, not having a salary cap. Looking
- 1:08:21at some of these... Actually, I was having this
- 1:08:23conversation at Thanksgiving with my parents
- 1:08:25and grandparents. You know, some of these bigger
- 1:08:28market teams, you know, New York, LA. I know
- 1:08:31Toronto Tech is a bigger market city, but they're
- 1:08:34not really known for... MLB or baseball in general.
- 1:08:37They're more known more for their hockey Just
- 1:08:41these bigger market teams that can pay out a
- 1:08:44hell of a more than say Detroit Pittsburgh Tampa,
- 1:08:48Houston I know where it's seeming the MLB like
- 1:08:52Well, that's what I'm saying MLB these bigger
- 1:08:55market teams that don't think because there's
- 1:08:57no salary cap in the MLB Yeah, so I mean teams
- 1:09:00like as a New York both New York teams LA Even
- 1:09:06Boston's out there for a lot of money Chicago
- 1:09:09the Cubs, you know, they suck. I think I'm pretty
- 1:09:10sure Chicago's up there Yeah, when you compare
- 1:09:13them to you know Detroit the Pistons the Pirates
- 1:09:18I'm thinking NBA. Tigers, the Pirates. The Morlins.
- 1:09:26The Rays. The Angels now. They lost a couple
- 1:09:31of their big guys. Yeah, some of these smaller
- 1:09:33market teams that really can't compete with these
- 1:09:36salary caps. That's been the debate. for years
- 1:09:40now in the MLBs, for the MLB to enlist a salary
- 1:09:42cap. But the same argument would be like, you
- 1:09:46know, we got a light in the work mode, we got
- 1:09:48light in the schedule then, because, you know,
- 1:09:50what the NHL did, here's the cap, we only have
- 1:09:5382 games, you know, every team here, here's your
- 1:09:56basement, here's your studio, and obviously there
- 1:09:58are certain exceptions to the basement with,
- 1:10:00you know, Columbus and News and Johnny Good -bye
- 1:10:02-Good -Roe, and obviously they're, yeah, we get
- 1:10:05it. You guys can be below the base bench for
- 1:10:08a little while. You guys do what you need to
- 1:10:10do, kind of thing. It's just nuts how much any
- 1:10:17players that aren't hockey players make nowadays.
- 1:10:19Like somebody broke it down like Jordan Love
- 1:10:23or like the highest played quarterbacks. They're
- 1:10:24making upwards of like $25 ,000 like a second
- 1:10:27or per snap that they play. It's unbelievable.
- 1:10:31If you break it down like see somebody's making
- 1:10:33$55 million. say your team doesn't make the playoffs
- 1:10:36you only play 17 games you're making what almost
- 1:10:40three million dollars a game per game and you
- 1:10:45know it just depends you can you know you play
- 1:10:47anywhere between 20 minutes and 40 minutes exactly
- 1:10:50yeah i mean like obviously you know you're not
- 1:10:52counting like the off -season trade doing training
- 1:10:54camp and pre -season and practice and if you
- 1:10:56do make the post -season you know those extra
- 1:10:58you know three four games you might have to play
- 1:11:01There's so much more fluctuation between I mean,
- 1:11:05yeah, I mean hockey players take big Hicks and
- 1:11:07you know, it's just it's just as physical as
- 1:11:09a football is and stuff like that You know football
- 1:11:12is just as physical as hockey as I should say
- 1:11:14Well, I there's one stat that I will always go
- 1:11:17back to and I wish I haven't saved Hockey players,
- 1:11:21I think are like 17 % smaller than football players
- 1:11:27But they hit, I think, 25 % harder. 25 or 35
- 1:11:30% harder than the average NFL player. A significant
- 1:11:35amount less padding, too, I'm pretty sure. The
- 1:11:37amount of pads that I've seen a football player
- 1:11:39have on compared to hockey players. Yeah. Goalie
- 1:11:42definitely has the most out of anybody, for sure.
- 1:11:45Taking Goaltender out of the situation, just
- 1:11:48look at the average skater. The average skater
- 1:11:50on your NHL team and line them up against an
- 1:11:54offensive lineman. 180 maybe 190 pound 5 foot
- 1:11:5910 forward compared to a 366 foot 4 pound NFL
- 1:12:04lineman. The center is the smallest lineman on
- 1:12:11an NFL team. Typically, yeah. So, comparing them
- 1:12:16to, you know, taking fucking Zedino Charles tall
- 1:12:206 foot 9 ass out of the equation. It's ridiculous.
- 1:12:27Yeah One more thing I kind of just happened to
- 1:12:32scroll across I Brought it up earlier in the
- 1:12:35week Like most goals and assisted by a teammate
- 1:12:40obviously earlier in the week after last week's
