Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Dick Durbin Dodges Epstein, Democrats Against Funding for Israel plus Biden Impeachment Inquiry Center Stage the Week in Review
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Ted Cruz weekend Review, Ben Ferguson
- 0:05Speaker 2: with you, and these are the stories that you may
- 0:07Speaker 2: have missed that we talked about this week. First up,
- 0:10Speaker 2: Senator Marsha Blackburn and Senator Ted Cruz have joined together
- 0:14Speaker 2: asking for the Jeffrey Epstein flight logs to be made
- 0:18Speaker 2: public with a subpoena. What will happen moving forward and
- 0:21Speaker 2: why are Democrats blocking it?
- 0:23Speaker 1: We'll have that for you.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Also, Israel funding Democrats saying no, but they want you
- 0:29Speaker 2: to send billions to Ukraine, and now it's all involved
- 0:32Speaker 2: with border security.
- 0:34Speaker 1: We'll have the latest on that financial fight.
- 0:36Speaker 2: And finally the latest with a Biden impeachment inquiry moving
- 0:40Speaker 2: forward and what this means for the days ahead. It
- 0:44Speaker 2: is the weekend review and it starts right now. Senator,
- 0:47Speaker 2: I want to move on to another issue this week
- 0:49Speaker 2: that was kind of shocking. Your colleague, Senator Marsha Blackburn
- 0:54Speaker 2: from Tennessee has asked for a basic request and that
- 0:57Speaker 2: is subpeeda the Epstein flight log They exist, we should
- 1:02Speaker 2: know who is.
- 1:02Speaker 3: On those planes.
- 1:04Speaker 2: And Dick Durbin kind of wanted to have it both ways, claiming, hey,
- 1:08Speaker 2: I didn't really know about this, so therefore I don't
- 1:10Speaker 2: have to do it, but I'm willing to talk about it.
- 1:12Speaker 2: But this should be a simple like yes or no
- 1:15Speaker 2: question for him. Do you want Epstein's call, you know,
- 1:19Speaker 2: flight logs to be out there?
- 1:20Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Do we want to know who's on those planes? Yes?
- 1:22Speaker 3: Do we want to know who's involved and this human
- 1:24Speaker 3: and sex trafficking? Yes?
- 1:26Speaker 2: So why is he defending it? And you may have
- 1:29Speaker 2: been as shocked as I was. This doesn't seem like
- 1:31Speaker 2: a smart political move yet. Maybe there's so many Democrats
- 1:34Speaker 2: that he's trying to protect. Here are big donors. I
- 1:36Speaker 2: don't understand it.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Look, look Durbin is doing everything he can to cover
- 1:40Speaker 5: this up, to hide the Jeffrey Epstein flight logs. Take
- 1:44Speaker 5: take a look right here. This is a Fox News
- 1:46Speaker 5: reporter questioning Dick Durbin as he walks to a judiciary
- 1:49Speaker 5: committee hearing give a listen, I don't know.
- 1:52Speaker 6: Anything about his flight logs.
- 1:54Speaker 7: Why won't you subpoena them? Why don't you want to
- 1:57Speaker 7: know the issue?
- 1:58Speaker 6: I know who was, but I certainly don't know anything
- 2:02Speaker 6: about the issue.
- 2:02Speaker 7: Well, he was charged with sex trafficking, so why don't
- 2:06Speaker 7: you want to know who was utilizing his private plane.
- 2:09Speaker 6: Never been raised by anyone.
- 2:11Speaker 7: Senator Blackburn has wanted to subpoena them, and there hasn't
- 2:14Speaker 7: been a vote.
- 2:15Speaker 1: In your commission.
- 2:15Speaker 6: But to me, not a word.
- 2:17Speaker 7: But aren't you curious, like what high profile or powerful
- 2:21Speaker 7: people might be closeted predators and pedophiles. Doesn't that concern you?
- 2:27Speaker 7: So why won't you subpoena them if you can?
- 2:29Speaker 6: It's the first time anyone has raised it, Thank you Fox.
- 2:32Speaker 7: So do you are you curious about it? Will you
- 2:34Speaker 7: do it? All?
- 2:36Speaker 8: Right?
- 2:36Speaker 5: So Durbin is lying, just like when Claudie and Gay
- 2:40Speaker 5: said Harvard doesn't know how many Jewish students we have Bloney,
- 2:44Speaker 5: Yes they do. Durbin is flat outlined. Let me give
- 2:47Speaker 5: you some backstory. This fight occurred in the context and
- 2:51Speaker 5: we talked about this in a podcast about a week ago. Yeah,
- 2:56Speaker 5: where the Democrats subpoenaed Harlan Crowe and Leonard Leo. Harlan
- 3:02Speaker 5: Crowe very successful real estate developer based here in Texas
- 3:05Speaker 5: and Dallas. Leonard Leo has been very active with the
- 3:08Speaker 5: Federalist Society for a long time, very active in helping
- 3:12Speaker 5: with judicial selection, in fighting for constitutionalist judges. The Democrats
- 3:19Speaker 5: hate them, and the subpoenas going after Harlan Crowe and
- 3:23Speaker 5: going after Leonard Leo are part of their ongoing effort
- 3:27Speaker 5: to harass the Supreme Court, to delegitimize the Supreme Court,
- 3:31Speaker 5: and in particular to target Clarence Thomas. They despise Clarence Thomas.
- 3:35Speaker 5: So in response to that, a number of Republicans had
- 3:38Speaker 5: different amendments that we were pushing that if they were
- 3:41Speaker 5: going to force a vote on the subpoenas, we were
- 3:45Speaker 5: going to force a vote on our amendments. So when
- 3:47Speaker 5: we went into it, I had an amendment that would
- 3:52Speaker 5: subpoena the GPS data for Hunter Biden's cell phone and
- 3:55Speaker 5: Joe Biden's cell phone at the exact moment that Hunter
- 3:58Speaker 5: Biden sent the WhatsApp next to the Chinese Communists saying
- 4:02Speaker 5: I'm sitting here next to my father. Because we know
- 4:06Speaker 5: from the irs whistleblowers that when the investigators wanted to
- 4:09Speaker 5: find out was he in fact sitting next to Joe
- 4:11Speaker 5: Biden when he was extorting the Chinese communists, the Biden
- 4:14Speaker 5: DOJ blocked that and said, Nope, you can't find that out.
- 4:18Speaker 5: So that's what I wanted to tea up. I think
- 4:20Speaker 5: that was important. I think we should have voted for it.
- 4:22Speaker 5: I'm going to continue to look for an avenue to
- 4:25Speaker 5: vote for it. Marsha Blackburn came up with I think
- 4:28Speaker 5: it even better idea of a subpoena to vote on,
- 4:31Speaker 5: and her idea was that we should subpoena the Epstein
- 4:35Speaker 5: estate for the flight logs to his plane and in
- 4:39Speaker 5: particular the Lalita Express. The Express, the private jet that
- 4:43Speaker 5: flew down to Jeffrey Epstein's island with lots and lots
- 4:46Speaker 5: of politicians, allegedly mostly Democrats. We don't know, We don't
- 4:50Speaker 5: know who was on it.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Yeah, show it. If there's a Republican, find find out
- 4:53Speaker 3: who they are.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Now, we do know that Epstein was an original friend
- 4:58Speaker 5: to Bill, that he was very close with Bill Clinton.
- 5:00Speaker 5: He was so close with Bill Clinton. Do you know
- 5:04Speaker 5: what Jeffrey Epstein had hanging on the wall and maybe.
- 5:07Speaker 2: One of the creepiest, weirdest things ever. Yeah, go go
- 5:09Speaker 2: ahead and tell everybody, because it's truly shocking.
- 5:11Speaker 5: A painting of Bill Clinton wearing a blue dress Monticarry
- 5:19Speaker 5: red high heeled pumps. Like it's just weird. Yeah, that's
- 5:24Speaker 5: what Epstein had hanging on his wall in his New
- 5:27Speaker 5: York house. So Marsha Blackburn introduced an amendment to subpoena
- 5:34Speaker 5: the flight logs. I thought her idea was fantastic, so
- 5:38Speaker 5: I co sponsored her her amendment. So it was a
- 5:40Speaker 5: Blackburn Cruise amendment to subpoena the flight logs. Now, the
- 5:46Speaker 5: first time we were going to vote on on on
- 5:48Speaker 5: the subpoenas on Harlan Crow and Leonardale, we didn't vote
- 5:52Speaker 5: on them. And I can tell you, like all the Republicans,
- 5:55Speaker 5: we were all ready for combat. Let's go battle the Democrats.
- 5:58Speaker 5: This is a partisan witch hunt. And what happened. So
- 6:02Speaker 5: back behind the Diist there's a conference room where the
- 6:05Speaker 5: Judiciary Committee meets that you have the diists there and
- 6:09Speaker 5: behind it there's a conference room and you can go
- 6:11Speaker 5: and have meetings there. I can tell you Dick Durbin
- 6:14Speaker 5: was sitting in that conference room with John Ossoff, the
- 6:18Speaker 5: freshman Democrat senator from Georgia who serves on Judiciary, and
- 6:23Speaker 5: Durbin and Osoff were having a heated, heated conversation. I
- 6:28Speaker 5: don't know for sure what they were discussing. I didn't
- 6:31Speaker 5: overhear their conversation, but it was energetic, and it delayed
- 6:37Speaker 5: and delayed and delayed, and then it Durbin ended up
- 6:39Speaker 5: deciding not to vote on the subpoenas. And I'll tell
- 6:42Speaker 5: you all the Republican senators who were like, what's going on? Yeah,
- 6:47Speaker 5: and a number of us thought it was a number
- 6:52Speaker 5: of Republican senators suggested the problem was Ossoff told Durbin
- 6:58Speaker 5: he was not willing to vote on the Epstein subpoena. Now,
- 7:02Speaker 5: I don't know if that's because he didn't want it
- 7:04Speaker 5: voted on or he didn't want to vote. No, I
- 7:06Speaker 5: don't know why, and I don't know if it's true.
- 7:07Speaker 5: I mean, we were Durbin never explained any of it
- 7:10Speaker 5: to us. He just canceled it. Fast forward then to
- 7:15Speaker 5: when they did vote vote out the subpoenas. The way
- 7:17Speaker 5: he did so, he allowed no amendments. He just rammed
- 7:19Speaker 5: it through and blocked all amendments. And so the logical
- 7:24Speaker 5: inference is the only way Durbin could get his votes
- 7:28Speaker 5: for the Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo subpoenas is to
- 7:31Speaker 5: stop a vote on the Jeffrey Epstein subpoena. And somebody
- 7:35Speaker 5: and I think the most likely candidate is John Ossoff
- 7:39Speaker 5: really really really doesn't want to vote on that. I
- 7:42Speaker 5: think that's all the more reason to vote on it.
- 7:44Speaker 5: And by the way, if Osoff is listening to this
- 7:47Speaker 5: and he says, hey, that's not true, I'm happy to
- 7:49Speaker 5: vote on it.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Great, let's vote on it.
- 7:51Speaker 5: Let's vote on it. There's an easy way to resolve it.
- 7:53Speaker 5: But it's interesting. So Fox News asked Durbin that question
- 7:58Speaker 5: in the hallway. You saw it the end, like, thikes Fox,
- 8:01Speaker 5: This like nastiness. Well, what happened next was interesting. So
- 8:05Speaker 5: Durbin went into the hearing room and he tried to
- 8:07Speaker 5: try to rehabilitate himself.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I cover your ass politics.
- 8:11Speaker 5: So watch what he said as soon as he came
- 8:13Speaker 5: into the hearing room.
- 8:14Speaker 9: Senator Blackburn, before you leave, I want to make a
- 8:17Speaker 9: point for the record, since I understand you made some
- 8:20Speaker 9: statements about the Jeffrey Epstein flight logs. There's a Fox
- 8:25Speaker 9: reporter in the hallway who asked me about this, and
- 8:28Speaker 9: I said, I had not spoken to you one time
- 8:30Speaker 9: about this issue. I think you'll back me up on that.
- 8:34Speaker 9: I'm not mistaken. I didn't know that this was even
- 8:37Speaker 9: a subject of your amendments, which, if you recall, you
- 8:40Speaker 9: were the first on the list until the two hour
- 8:41Speaker 9: rules invoked. I don't know anything about this request on
- 8:46Speaker 9: your part. I'll be happy to discuss it with you,
- 8:49Speaker 9: but I haven't done any discussion with you to this point.
- 8:52Speaker 8: Mister Chairman, I know, and I think you're fully aware
- 8:55Speaker 8: that I had two amendments, one dealing with Epstein and
- 8:58Speaker 8: so to me, or i'd brought it up previously.
- 9:02Speaker 9: I have to confess I didn't know that you'd offer
- 9:04Speaker 9: that amendment. Happy to discuss it with you, but I
- 9:06Speaker 9: want to point on the record, you and I have
- 9:09Speaker 9: never personally discussed this have we.
- 9:12Speaker 8: We talked briefly on the floor, as never mentioned.
- 9:16Speaker 6: What the subject matter your amendment was.
- 9:18Speaker 1: You said you wanted offer committee.
- 9:19Speaker 8: I brought up the subject matter of my amendments.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Not in my presence. Do you believe him?
- 9:27Speaker 5: Well, the nice thing is, as they say, we can
- 9:31Speaker 5: roll the tape. What he said there is a flat
- 9:34Speaker 5: out lie. It is objectively false, and we're going to
- 9:37Speaker 5: show that to you, and in just a moment it
- 9:40Speaker 5: is unequivocally false. It is possible, giving him enormous benefit
- 9:47Speaker 5: of the doubt, he forgot. Yeah, it is possible it
- 9:51Speaker 5: was not a knowing lie, but it is unequivocally, one,
- 9:55Speaker 5: one hundred percent demonstrably false that the words he said
- 9:59Speaker 5: are wrong. And I'll show you why. We're going to
- 10:02Speaker 5: right now play the tape of that first hearing. Now,
- 10:06Speaker 5: I was there, Marsha Blackburn was there, and Dick Durbin
- 10:10Speaker 5: was there, and you're gonna hear Marcia bring up her
- 10:13Speaker 5: amendment about Jeffrey Epstein. He just said, you've never mentioned
- 10:16Speaker 5: Jeffrey Epstein in my presence. I was not physically present. Well,
- 10:20Speaker 5: you're going to see Dick Derbin recognize her and then
- 10:23Speaker 5: cut her off while she's bringing up Jeffrey Epstein. Roll
- 10:26Speaker 5: the tape.
- 10:27Speaker 8: I seek recognition, Senator Blackburn. Since we're in the business
- 10:31Speaker 8: of issuing subpoenas, now here are a few more that
- 10:36Speaker 8: I filed a subpoena to Jeffrey Epstein's estate to provide
- 10:41Speaker 8: the flight logs for his private playing.
- 10:44Speaker 9: Thanks, Senator. When I recognize you, I didn't know what
- 10:48Speaker 9: subject you wish to speak to. As I announced at
- 10:50Speaker 9: the beginning, the first thing will consider the two judicial nominations.
- 10:53Speaker 6: Then we will move to the subpoena.
- 10:56Speaker 2: So she's speaking. He's in the middle of the room.
- 10:59Speaker 2: He's right there in the middle. It's direct eye contact.
- 11:01Speaker 5: He's looking directly at her. He's at the hearing room.
- 11:03Speaker 5: He's in the center center. I'm in between Durbin and
- 11:07Speaker 5: Marsha Blackburn. We're all sitting there. She flat out says,
- 11:11Speaker 5: I want a subpoena Jeffrey Epstein's flight records AND's and
- 11:15Speaker 5: he hears it. He recognizes her. Then he interrupts and says, no,
- 11:18Speaker 5: I want to do some other stuff first. This is
- 11:20Speaker 5: easy to resolve. We should subpoena Epstein's flight records. If
- 11:27Speaker 5: there are politicians Democrat or a Republican or anybody else
- 11:30Speaker 5: who was on that plane who was going to that
- 11:33Speaker 5: island who was molesting and sexually assaulting children, we should
- 11:39Speaker 5: know who they are. We shouldn't have Jeffrey Epstein's client list.
- 11:44Speaker 5: And the fact that the Democrats are apparently in a
- 11:47Speaker 5: full on panic. I don't know if Durbin knows somebody
- 11:51Speaker 5: on that list, or multiple people, or I don't know
- 11:55Speaker 5: if they're just afraid. I don't know what their fear is,
- 12:00Speaker 5: but they're plainly terrified of voting on it. And if
- 12:04Speaker 5: I'm wrong. Durban can solve it very easily by bringing
- 12:08Speaker 5: it up for a vote and issuing the subpoena. And
- 12:10Speaker 5: to be clear, when we subpoena those flight logs, we
- 12:13Speaker 5: should make them public. I will tell you this, one
- 12:16Speaker 5: of my favorite moments in all of Senate Judiciary was
- 12:21Speaker 5: when John Kennedy leaned forward at a hearing and he said,
- 12:27Speaker 5: Christmas tree ornaments and Jeffrey Epstein, two things you know,
- 12:33Speaker 5: didn't hang themselves.
- 12:36Speaker 3: And this is why he is a legend of the Senate.
- 12:38Speaker 5: I almost laughed out a lung. And I'm sitting there
- 12:42Speaker 5: John sits a couple of seats to my right. I
- 12:45Speaker 5: almost fell over. I was like, I cannot believe he
- 12:48Speaker 5: just said that in a live and open hearing of
- 12:50Speaker 5: Senate Judiciary. He did, but it seems to me, I
- 12:55Speaker 5: don't know if Jeffrey Epstein had a visit for Hillary
- 12:57Speaker 5: Clinton late at night. I don't know what happened, but
- 13:00Speaker 5: it seems to me Dick Durbin really, really really doesn't
- 13:03Speaker 5: want you to know what happened.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 13:07Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 13:10Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, let's
- 13:14Speaker 2: talk about that Israeli funding, because this is really important. Obviously,
- 13:18Speaker 2: as you mentioned, democrats said hell no to it. No one,
- 13:21Speaker 2: not a single Democrat would go with you guys, What
- 13:24Speaker 2: does it look like now moving forward and how desperate
- 13:27Speaker 2: is the need from Israel at this point. It's amazing
- 13:31Speaker 2: that Democrats are going all in with Ukraine and the
- 13:33Speaker 2: corruption there asking no questions, whereas in Israel there's none
- 13:38Speaker 2: of those questions that need to be asked, and there's
- 13:40Speaker 2: transparency and we know what's going on, and yet they're saying, ah,
- 13:45Speaker 2: not so much. And even the White House now is
- 13:47Speaker 2: starting to distance themselves from Israel, changing their tune a
- 13:51Speaker 2: little bit over the last couple of days, which is
- 13:54Speaker 2: what I expected, but it's also incredibly disheartening.
- 13:57Speaker 5: Well, look, the one word I disagree with that you
- 13:59Speaker 5: say there, As you said, even the White House listen,
- 14:03Speaker 5: We've outlined at length on this podcast how this White
- 14:06Speaker 5: House is the most anti Israel White House we've ever had,
- 14:09Speaker 5: and Joe Biden, this White House had been undermining Israel
- 14:13Speaker 5: from the day Biden was sworn in as president repeatedly,
- 14:16Speaker 5: and we've outlined From the very first minutes of this
- 14:19Speaker 5: attack on October seventh, this White House has been undermining Israel,
- 14:23Speaker 5: has been urging Israel, do not retaliate, do not attack Hamas,
- 14:26Speaker 5: do not kill the terrorists from day one. The State Department,
- 14:30Speaker 5: the State Department literally tweeted that out on the night
- 14:33Speaker 5: of October seventh, while people were still being murdered, while
- 14:37Speaker 5: women and children were being raped. The State Department is
- 14:39Speaker 5: tweeting out, Israel, do not respond militarily, do not kill
- 14:44Speaker 5: the terrorists. And so, yes, you're right. The White House
- 14:48Speaker 5: doesn't really care about the Israel funding. In fact, we
- 14:50Speaker 5: know they don't because if they cared about it, we'd
- 14:53Speaker 5: pass it as a free standing bill. It has the
- 14:55Speaker 5: votes to pass as a free standing bill. But their
- 14:57Speaker 5: only interest on Israel funding is to use it as
- 15:01Speaker 5: a sweetener to try to convince Republicans to fund the
- 15:05Speaker 5: rest of the Democrats' priorities. And I think that's incredibly cynical.
- 15:09Speaker 5: I think it's wrong, and their focus is on Ukraine.
- 15:14Speaker 5: But it's interesting. If you want to take away from
- 15:17Speaker 5: what we've seen over the last six weeks in Washington,
- 15:20Speaker 5: it's the Democrats are much much more committed to open
- 15:24Speaker 5: borders than they are to the war in Ukraine, and
- 15:28Speaker 5: they're willing to abandon funding for Ukraine in order to
- 15:32Speaker 5: keep the tragedy of open borders at our southern border.
- 15:35Speaker 5: That is a higher priority for them. And it's incredibly
- 15:38Speaker 5: revealing because they self righteously claim otherwise. And look you
- 15:45Speaker 5: look at Wayseelenski came this week. It's Chuck Schumer trying
- 15:48Speaker 5: to browbeat Republicans into saying, give us what we want,
- 15:53Speaker 5: even though we will do nothing on the border. And
- 15:55Speaker 5: I think that has zero chance of success.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Senator, I want to also move to one other subject
- 16:01Speaker 2: real quick that I think is obviously an important one,
- 16:04Speaker 2: and that is to give an update on what's going
- 16:07Speaker 2: on now with impeachment. We've seen the House Committee is
- 16:11Speaker 2: going to vote on impeachment. The House Speaker, Mike Johnson
- 16:14Speaker 2: says the White House is impeding the investigation to President
- 16:17Speaker 2: Joe Biden and the next step will be a vote
- 16:19Speaker 2: to formalize an impeachment inquiry. This also as Fox News
- 16:24Speaker 2: is reporting that the Hunter Biden received two hundred and
- 16:26Speaker 2: fifty thousand dollars wires originating in Beijing with a beneficiary
- 16:32Speaker 2: address listed as Joe Biden's home. This is all about,
- 16:36Speaker 2: as the House Oversight Committee put with the Biden's influence
- 16:38Speaker 2: peddling and what they have been doing. This vote center
- 16:42Speaker 2: is a very important vote and it's also going to
- 16:44Speaker 2: give Republicans more power. Explain why this vote is important
- 16:49Speaker 2: to happen now.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Well, the House is scheduled to vote today. It is
- 16:53Speaker 5: a vote on a resolution formalizing the impeachment inquiry into
- 16:57Speaker 5: President Biden. And previously the High House had not scheduled
- 17:01Speaker 5: that vote because it wasn't clear that they had the
- 17:03Speaker 5: votes to pass it. And so Kevin McCarthy when he
- 17:06Speaker 5: was speaker, he didn't schedule it because it looked like
- 17:09Speaker 5: the votes weren't there. What Republicans are telling the press
- 17:13Speaker 5: at least is it looks like the votes are there.
- 17:15Speaker 5: And so a number of the Republicans who are in
- 17:19Speaker 5: blue districts that Biden carried are now moving forward. So,
- 17:23Speaker 5: for example, Mike Garcia in California said, quote, there is
- 17:27Speaker 5: enough substantiation to move forward, and quote the Executive branch
- 17:31Speaker 5: made clear they're not going to cooperate with the inquiry
- 17:34Speaker 5: unless we formalize it. So let's formalize it. Another one,
- 17:38Speaker 5: Mark Blinaro, who's a Republican from New York again in
- 17:41Speaker 5: the district Biden carried, said quote Congress has every responsibility
- 17:45Speaker 5: to provide oversight. There are serious questions of impropriety. The
- 17:48Speaker 5: White House and the President have yet to comply with
- 17:50Speaker 5: requests for information in subpoenas, adding that he is quote
- 17:54Speaker 5: inclined to support the measure. And another Republican from New
- 17:59Speaker 5: York again in a district and in fact, the most
- 18:03Speaker 5: Democrat leaning district of any Republican, Anthony Desposito, said said
- 18:09Speaker 5: that he will vote to authorize the inquiry. And so
- 18:13Speaker 5: what we're hearing is the votes are there. It's scheduled
- 18:17Speaker 5: for a vote today, and the resolution directs the House Oversight, Judiciary,
- 18:23Speaker 5: and Ways and Means committees to quote continue their ongoing
- 18:27Speaker 5: investigations as a part of the existing House of Representatives
- 18:30Speaker 5: inquiry into whether sufficient grounds exist to impeach Biden and
- 18:34Speaker 5: so formally voting this for this is a significant step forward,
- 18:39Speaker 5: and I'm glad they're going to do that. I hope
- 18:41Speaker 5: they pass it and we will discuss on the next
- 18:45Speaker 5: verdict what happens when the vote happens later today.
- 18:48Speaker 2: As before, if you want to hear the rest of
- 18:50Speaker 2: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 18:53Speaker 2: now the podcasts from earlier this week to hear the
- 18:55Speaker 2: entire thing. I want to get back to the big
- 18:59Speaker 2: story number three three of the week.
- 19:00Speaker 1: You may have missed CENTA.
- 19:02Speaker 2: I want to move to the other major issue, and
- 19:05Speaker 2: they are very much intertwined, but separate, and so let's
- 19:09Speaker 2: look at this completely separately for a moment. The House
- 19:12Speaker 2: formalizing the impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. There has been
- 19:17Speaker 2: a lot of media protection on this story, and I
- 19:21Speaker 2: think it's important that we remind people why this impeachment matters,
- 19:26Speaker 2: why it's not a witch hunt, how it's different from
- 19:29Speaker 2: what the Democrats did against Donald J. Trump when they knew.
- 19:32Speaker 2: For example, the Stell dossier was created by the DNC
- 19:35Speaker 2: and Hillary Clinton paid for by them. The FBI categorized
- 19:39Speaker 2: the Stele dohsier as user generated, meaning it was crap.
- 19:42Speaker 2: They even offered a million I think it was a
- 19:43Speaker 2: million dollars to Christopher Steel to authenticate anything in the Dohsier.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Couldn't do it, and yet they still used it and
- 19:50Speaker 2: weaponized it to try to overthrow the will of the people.
- 19:54Speaker 2: And so I want people to understand that impeachment is important.
- 19:58Speaker 2: It shouldn't be used a political weapon, and Republicans are
- 20:01Speaker 2: not using it as a political weapon. So let's go
- 20:05Speaker 2: back and remind people why the House is formalizing this
- 20:09Speaker 2: impeachment inquiry.
- 20:10Speaker 5: Well, the reason the House says open the impeachment inquiry
- 20:13Speaker 5: is because there is serious evidence of corruption. There is
- 20:16Speaker 5: serious evidence of bribery on behalf of the President of
- 20:19Speaker 5: the United States, and it's from multiple directions. But you know,
- 20:23Speaker 5: Jim Jordan sent out a very simple tweet that I
- 20:26Speaker 5: think is powerful. What Jim Jordan said was quote four
- 20:29Speaker 5: facts that will never change. One Hunter Biden sat on
- 20:33Speaker 5: Barisma's board, absolutely true. Two he was unqualified to do so,
- 20:38Speaker 5: absolutely true. Three Barisma pressured him to get DC to
- 20:43Speaker 5: act on policy issues in Ukraine. And four Joe Biden
- 20:47Speaker 5: did just that. Now, of those four facts, the only
- 20:51Speaker 5: one the Democrats argue against even slightly is number three.
- 20:55Speaker 5: And they have some disputes. They say, well, well, no,
- 20:58Speaker 5: Barisma didn't really want the prosecutor fired who was investigating
- 21:03Speaker 5: the corrupt oligarch who owns Barisma because he was a
- 21:06Speaker 5: bad prosecutor. So they didn't really want him fired. Now,
- 21:08Speaker 5: I got to say that is an incredibly weak argument,
- 21:11Speaker 5: and it is contrary to the evidence the House is compiled.
- 21:14Speaker 5: But that's the whole of their argument. And so remember
- 21:16Speaker 5: when they say no direct evidence. We talked a minute
- 21:20Speaker 5: ago about what is bribery. Bribery is quid pro quo
- 21:24Speaker 5: this for that. That's the Latin phrase. That was for
- 21:28Speaker 5: Joe Biden to get the prosecutor fired in Ukraine. And
- 21:32Speaker 5: we know that Joe Biden did that. We know that
- 21:35Speaker 5: the quo happened because Joe Biden has confessed on video
- 21:39Speaker 5: that he flew to Ukraine that he held over a
- 21:42Speaker 5: billion dollars in US taxpayer funds that are guaranteeing loans
- 21:46Speaker 5: to Ukraine. He held them hostage and said you will
- 21:49Speaker 5: not get that money unless you fire the prosecutor. And
- 21:52Speaker 5: then his response, we've talked about at length, was son
- 21:55Speaker 5: of a bitch. They fired the prosecutor. So the quot
- 21:58Speaker 5: is admitted, it is stipulated. Joe Biden has confessed on
- 22:02Speaker 5: video to it. The only question is the quid, which
- 22:06Speaker 5: is was he paid or and by the way, paying
- 22:10Speaker 5: his family for that. That official act is also bribery.
- 22:13Speaker 5: So it doesn't matter whether the money went directly to
- 22:17Speaker 5: Joe Biden's bank account or whether it simply went to
- 22:19Speaker 5: Hunter Biden's bank account. We know that he was making
- 22:22Speaker 5: eighty three thousand dollars a month. Hunter was to sit
- 22:24Speaker 5: on a board. Now, mind you, I don't know of
- 22:26Speaker 5: another board anywhere on Earth that pays eighty three grand
- 22:29Speaker 5: a month to board members. That is bizarre. Just on
- 22:31Speaker 5: the face of it. It's a lot more than Exxon
- 22:34Speaker 5: Mobile pays their board members. It's a lot more than
- 22:36Speaker 5: any board I've ever heard of pays their board members.
- 22:39Speaker 5: And remember, Hunter Biden had zero experience in oil and gas.
- 22:44Speaker 5: He didn't speak Ukrainian. I'm not even sure he could
- 22:47Speaker 5: find Ukraine on a map. What he did have was
- 22:51Speaker 5: Daddy's cell phone. What he did have was Daddy's fake
- 22:53Speaker 5: email addresses. What he did have was Daddy's burner phones.
- 22:56Speaker 5: What he did have was access to Daddy. And I
- 23:00Speaker 5: got to say it was a good investment. If you're
- 23:02Speaker 5: a corrupt oligarch and you hire Skippy Boy here and
- 23:05Speaker 5: Daddy uses the full force of the US government to
- 23:08Speaker 5: get the prosecutor fired who's coming after you, that is
- 23:12Speaker 5: a great investment. So that is number one right at
- 23:15Speaker 5: the heart of the impeachment inquiry. But number two, we
- 23:19Speaker 5: have the WhatsApp where Hunter is shaking down a Chinese
- 23:24Speaker 5: communist and saying, I'm sitting here next to my father
- 23:26Speaker 5: and he's threatening retaliation from Daddy, not from Hunter, from Daddy,
- 23:31Speaker 5: from Joe Biden if they didn't pay him millions of dollars.
- 23:34Speaker 5: And we know that they paid him millions of dollars.
- 23:37Speaker 5: So that again, look, bribery can be on either front.
- 23:40Speaker 5: It can be either for getting a benefit, but it
- 23:43Speaker 5: can also be bribery, pay me money, give me a benefit,
- 23:47Speaker 5: or else I will do this bad thing through government
- 23:51Speaker 5: to you. That's also bribery. You know, if a prosecutor
- 23:56Speaker 5: for US attorney says, give me a million dollars or
- 23:59Speaker 5: else I will indict you, and you give him a
- 24:01Speaker 5: million dollars and he doesn't indict you, that's bribery. In
- 24:05Speaker 5: this case, the retaliation that Hunter was threatening from Daddy,
- 24:09Speaker 5: it would absolutely constitute bribery on Joe's part. And mind you,
- 24:13Speaker 5: the irs whistleblowers say that in the investigation they wanted
- 24:17Speaker 5: to get the GPS data. It's very simple to ascertain
- 24:20Speaker 5: when Hunter sent that WhatsApp text, was he in fact
- 24:24Speaker 5: sitting next to Joe. You'll have Hunter's GPS data, You'll
- 24:28Speaker 5: have Joe's GPS data if they're in the same room,
- 24:30Speaker 5: if they're sitting next to each other. That goes right
- 24:33Speaker 5: to the heart of that Joe knew and was involved
- 24:37Speaker 5: in shaking down these corrupt foreign players. That's why the
- 24:41Speaker 5: House has now opened the impeachment inquiry.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Sara, I want to get your reaction to something that
- 24:46Speaker 2: was said on MSNBC. They're claiming now that Biden's impeachment
- 24:51Speaker 2: inquiry is quote Trump's retribution.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Take a listen to this.
- 24:57Speaker 10: The fact that there is no he doesn't bother the
- 25:01Speaker 10: likes of Jim Jordan. I think Representative McGovern got it
- 25:05Speaker 10: right when he said when Trump asks them to jump,
- 25:08Speaker 10: they say how high, and.
- 25:10Speaker 6: That they're now jumping. They're now jumping for Trump.
- 25:14Speaker 10: This is his retribution and it's a pr a pr
- 25:18Speaker 10: very cynical, PR driven attempt to besmirch Biden without any evidence.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Without any evidence. You just went through that evidence.
- 25:26Speaker 2: But this is what we're up against the media saying
- 25:29Speaker 2: this is just retribution for Trump.
- 25:32Speaker 1: No, it's not. This is based on the facts.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Well, MSNBC is not actually a journalistic outlet. They are
- 25:40Speaker 5: propagandas they are the left wing of the Democrat Party,
- 25:42Speaker 5: so they're going to repeat that and ignore the facts altogether.
- 25:47Speaker 5: They won't cover the facts. Look, if you watch MSNBC,
- 25:50Speaker 5: you have no idea that Hunter Biden sent a WhatsApp
- 25:53Speaker 5: text to a Chinese communist shaking him down for millions
- 25:56Speaker 5: of dollars. You don't know that, because you know what,
- 25:58Speaker 5: if they don't report on any evident, then they can
- 26:00Speaker 5: send idiots on camera to say there's no evidence. And
- 26:03Speaker 5: if all you watch is MSNBC, you're right. You're right,
- 26:06Speaker 5: there is no evidence because they won't report on any
- 26:08Speaker 5: of the evidence. It's purely circular. And that is part
- 26:13Speaker 5: of why the Democrats their behavior is so bad. The
- 26:17Speaker 5: corrupt corporate media facilitates their blatant dishonesty because the corporate
- 26:22Speaker 5: media has every bit as dishonest as the White House is.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think we should end with this. James
- 26:28Speaker 2: Comer took to the flour of the house. This is
- 26:30Speaker 2: the man that's been digging into all this. He's been
- 26:32Speaker 2: a guest on Verdict. There's a two part series. You
- 26:35Speaker 2: can go back and listen to it, but I want
- 26:37Speaker 2: you to hear what he had to say on the
- 26:39Speaker 2: floor of the House.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Just as a reminder, Kentucky's recognized for three minutes.
- 26:43Speaker 11: Thank you, Chairman Cole, Mister speaker, I rise today to
- 26:46Speaker 11: support House Resolution nine eighteen. Joe Biden has repeatedly lied
- 26:51Speaker 11: to the American people about his family's corrupt influence peddling schemes.
- 26:56Speaker 11: He told the American people he never spoke to his
- 26:58Speaker 11: son about.
- 26:58Speaker 4: His family's business dealing.
- 27:00Speaker 11: He claimed there was an absolute wall between his official
- 27:03Speaker 11: government duties as Vice president and his family.
- 27:07Speaker 4: He said his family never made money from China. All
- 27:11Speaker 4: of these are blatant lies.
- 27:13Speaker 11: Our investigation has revealed how Joe Biden you of participated
- 27:18Speaker 11: in and benefited from his family cashing in on the
- 27:22Speaker 11: Biden name around the world. Since January, we have learned
- 27:26Speaker 11: some of the following. The Bidens created twenty shell companies,
- 27:31Speaker 11: most of which were created while Joe Biden's Vice president.
- 27:35Speaker 11: The Bidens in their associates then raked in over twenty
- 27:39Speaker 11: four million dollars through these shell companies from China, Russia, Ukraine,
- 27:45Speaker 11: Kazakhtan and Romania between twenty fourteen and twenty nineteen, at
- 27:52Speaker 11: least ten members of the Biden family have benefited.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Or participated in these schemes.
- 28:00Speaker 11: The Bidens layered these payments through their bank accounts to
- 28:03Speaker 11: hide the sources of the money. The banks even flagged
- 28:08Speaker 11: many of these transactions in more than one hundred and
- 28:11Speaker 11: fifty suspicious activity reports to the Treasury Department. One bank
- 28:16Speaker 11: investigator was so concerned about Hunter Biden's financial transactions with
- 28:20Speaker 11: the Chinese company that he wanted to reevaluate the bank's
- 28:24Speaker 11: relationship with him. He noted that his transactions served and
- 28:28Speaker 11: I quote no current business purpose end quote. That's what
- 28:33Speaker 11: I call a shell company. According to Devin Archer, a
- 28:36Speaker 11: Biden family associate, Joe Biden.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Was the brand of the business. The brand showed up.
- 28:42Speaker 11: Joe Biden spoke to his son's associates by speakerphone over
- 28:45Speaker 11: twenty times, dined with foreign oligarchs and a Barisma executive,
- 28:49Speaker 11: and had coffee with his son's Chinese associate, all when
- 28:53Speaker 11: he was vice president. Weeks after Joe Biden left the
- 28:57Speaker 11: vice presidency, money from this Chinese Communis Party linked entity
- 29:02Speaker 11: began to make its way to the bank accounts of
- 29:05Speaker 11: several Biden family members. Based on one Biden associates interview
- 29:10Speaker 11: with the FBI, these payments were sent to the Bidens
- 29:13Speaker 11: as a quote, thank you. Ask any Justice Department public
- 29:17Speaker 11: corruption investigator about the importance of payments received after one
- 29:21Speaker 11: leaves public office. It's a hallmark of corruption. We are
- 29:26Speaker 11: now at a pivotal moment in our investigation. We will
- 29:29Speaker 11: soon depose and interview several members of the Biden family
- 29:32Speaker 11: and their associates about these influenced peddling schemes.
- 29:35Speaker 4: But we are facing obstruction from the White House.
- 29:40Speaker 11: The White House is seeking to block key testimony from
- 29:42Speaker 11: current and former White House staff. It's also withholding thousands
- 29:46Speaker 11: of records from Joe Biden's time as Vice president. President
- 29:50Speaker 11: Biden must be held accountable for his lives, corruption and obstruction.
- 29:54Speaker 11: I urge my colleagues to support this important and necessary resolution.
- 29:58Speaker 4: I yield back, Senator.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I think you and I both can say listening to
- 30:02Speaker 1: him lay that out. Thank goodness.
- 30:04Speaker 2: We've got people in the Republican movement, the conservative movement,
- 30:07Speaker 2: like James Comer who's been willing to do this hard
- 30:10Speaker 2: work and methodically do it the right way.
- 30:13Speaker 5: Yes, and that's more substance than MSNBC is aired in
- 30:16Speaker 5: a year like in those three minutes that they can
- 30:19Speaker 5: claim no evidence because they won't air that. They don't
- 30:22Speaker 5: actually want you to hear what the evidence is. They
- 30:24Speaker 5: only want their talking heads that are chilling for a
- 30:28Speaker 5: corrupt White House. And it's look, that's why Verdict so
- 30:32Speaker 5: many listeners keep coming to Verdict because you find out
- 30:34Speaker 5: information here that the corporate media will not tell you.
- 30:38Speaker 5: And this podcast is designed to give you that information
- 30:41Speaker 5: and equip you to go talk with your friends and
- 30:43Speaker 5: family and loved ones and co workers and go engage
- 30:47Speaker 5: the lies and counter them with truth.
- 30:49Speaker 2: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Center
- 30:52Speaker 2: Ted Cruz Ben Ferguson with you don't forget to deal
