- 0:26Speaker 1: going together for Stu. I don't joy. You gotta turn you,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you gotta turn to turn out, got to turn them out,
- 1:45Speaker 1: to turn turn the water to the water. Come come
- 1:58Speaker 1: on your baby, I show will come morning. Everybody, y'all
- 2:05Speaker 1: listen to the voice. Come on, take me now one.
- 2:08Speaker 1: It only Steve Harvey's got a radio show. Yeah, man boy,
- 2:13Speaker 1: God has been good to me. Man, I can't really
- 2:17Speaker 1: count at all. You can't either, you know, it's all
- 2:20Speaker 1: in perspective. You really can't count all that God has
- 2:24Speaker 1: done for you if you look at every little thing.
- 2:27Speaker 1: It's unbelievable the things He's done for us. How many
- 2:31Speaker 1: times you know, we got through something without even talking
- 2:34Speaker 1: to him about it. He just he just blessed us
- 2:37Speaker 1: with it. How many you know? It's just it's so
- 2:40Speaker 1: much that the fact that you wake up in the morning,
- 2:43Speaker 1: the fact that you still have a place to stay,
- 2:45Speaker 1: the fact that you know may be struggling out here,
- 2:47Speaker 1: but guess what, You're still going to work you. You know,
- 2:50Speaker 1: you live in check the check, but but you're making
- 2:53Speaker 1: it all. You got all the plates spinning. You know,
- 2:55Speaker 1: it's hard. You got a lot of plate spinning, but
- 2:57Speaker 1: you keep him up there somewhere. Every now, I near
- 2:59Speaker 1: one break, but he put two more back up there
- 3:01Speaker 1: to look a little bit better. And you got to
- 3:02Speaker 1: get to spending them so it all works. And then
- 3:06Speaker 1: you got a lot of people who just can't seem
- 3:09Speaker 1: to mentally put it together as to you know, why
- 3:15Speaker 1: their life isn't in a position that they wanted to be.
- 3:18Speaker 1: We talked about this oftentimes, but I want to try
- 3:20Speaker 1: another angle with you today. You know, maybe it's you.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Have you ever thought about that? Maybe it's you. Maybe
- 3:31Speaker 1: it's no external force that's at fault, like you keep
- 3:35Speaker 1: making the excuse to be You know, so many people
- 3:38Speaker 1: I hear, well, if this hadn't have done this, if
- 3:41Speaker 1: he hadn't have done that, if she hadn't have done that,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I would have been further along. I wasted all my time,
- 3:47Speaker 1: my years with this man, and he did this, and
- 3:50Speaker 1: I could have been here, and I could have been there,
- 3:53Speaker 1: and this woman she did this to meet them. She
- 3:55Speaker 1: hadn't have done that. I could have been here, and
- 3:57Speaker 1: I could have been there. Maybe it's you. Maybe it's
- 4:03Speaker 1: not really that external force that you keep making it
- 4:06Speaker 1: out to be. See, I've done this to myself before.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Once again, I'm talking to you about something I know about.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I've done this to myself before. I've had the reason
- 4:19Speaker 1: I wasn't where I wanted to be. I had it
- 4:23Speaker 1: figured out as some external force. I had worked it
- 4:27Speaker 1: out in my mind. Clearly it wasn't me, because if
- 4:32Speaker 1: so and so, or if this hadn't happened, and if
- 4:35Speaker 1: they hadn't have done this, I would have been further
- 4:38Speaker 1: along up the road. That's what I was saying. But
- 4:41Speaker 1: woldo hold on it or learned a valuable lesson? Man, See,
- 4:46Speaker 1: if you don't ever let it go, it's gonna be
- 4:52Speaker 1: hard for you to go. If you don't ever let
- 4:57Speaker 1: it go, it's gonna be hard for you to go.
- 5:01Speaker 1: I was listening to Bishop td Jake's one day, and
- 5:04Speaker 1: I heard him say, you can't drive your car if
- 5:10Speaker 1: you're gonna keep looking in the rearview mirror. You go
- 5:15Speaker 1: outside and try that. Try to drive your car, but
- 5:18Speaker 1: keep your eye in the rearview mirror. All you looking
- 5:21Speaker 1: at is where you're being. All you're looking at in
- 5:25Speaker 1: that rear view mirror is where you're passed or should
- 5:27Speaker 1: have passed, something you should have moved on from. All
- 5:31Speaker 1: you're doing is looking in that rearview mirror at what
- 5:34Speaker 1: happened back there. If you don't stop looking in the
- 5:38Speaker 1: rearview mirror, you're gonna crash your car over and over
- 5:43Speaker 1: and over again. All you got to slow it down
- 5:47Speaker 1: so bad in order for you to keep looking in
- 5:51Speaker 1: that rearview mirror. If you don't learn to let it go,
- 5:57Speaker 1: it's gonna be hard for you to go forward because
- 6:02Speaker 1: you keep reviewing the past. The past is the past,
- 6:07Speaker 1: and I know it's hard. Man. I watched a show
- 6:10Speaker 1: and this lady said, well, I just can't ever forgive
- 6:13Speaker 1: them for that, or guess what. Guess what God may
- 6:18Speaker 1: have already forgiven that person. That person may be extremely remorseful,
- 6:23Speaker 1: could have gone to God and godd and forgiveness for
- 6:26Speaker 1: it years ago. But you you sit here and you
- 6:32Speaker 1: keep hanging on to the back. I can't ever forgive that.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Then I heard Bishop Jakes come on the show one
- 6:38Speaker 1: time and say something that really really struck on. You
- 6:42Speaker 1: keep drinking the poison, waiting on your enemy to die.
- 6:49Speaker 1: He said that. I just shook my head and went, wow,
- 6:53Speaker 1: you drinking the poison, waiting on your enemy to die.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Revenge is poor to you, you know, if hatred is
- 7:06Speaker 1: poison to you. Unforgivingness, when you won't forgive a person,
- 7:11Speaker 1: that person could be going on with their life, made
- 7:14Speaker 1: the right with God. Don't know how you're feeling. They're
- 7:18Speaker 1: skipping through life now. You make adjustments every time you
- 7:20Speaker 1: see them, and it takes energy. Man, it takes so
- 7:23Speaker 1: much energy to hate. It takes so much energy not
- 7:27Speaker 1: to forgive too. If that ain't come in the room,
- 7:30Speaker 1: you got to avoid them. Stay over here, Oh here
- 7:33Speaker 1: they come. Now you got to make a situation over here.
- 7:36Speaker 1: They come into the house. It's family reunion. Oh here
- 7:39Speaker 1: they come. And where they're gonna be in the basement.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I'm going to be on the third floor. I want
- 7:43Speaker 1: to go ahead and get some barbecue. She out there
- 7:44Speaker 1: at the barbecue, staying, oh lord, I don't want a barbecue.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I just eat to take the salad. People man take
- 7:49Speaker 1: themselves all out of position, trying to make adjustments, when
- 7:53Speaker 1: if you it would simplify your life, if you would
- 7:58Speaker 1: let just let it go. Maybe you ain't where you
- 8:01Speaker 1: need to be because of them external forces altogether. Maybe
- 8:06Speaker 1: you're not where you need to be cause of you.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Because you won't let it go, you won't move forward.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Look at this, ladies. Let's say you've been in a
- 8:15Speaker 1: situation with a man for years. It didn't work out
- 8:20Speaker 1: for whatever the reason, it just didn't work out. I
- 8:23Speaker 1: got I got what you say he did. I got
- 8:25Speaker 1: what he did. I got all of that, YadA, YadA YadA.
- 8:29Speaker 1: When you get through, did not God get you through it?
- 8:35Speaker 1: Did not he allow you to survive it? I got you,
- 8:40Speaker 1: got some cuts on you, I got you been a
- 8:42Speaker 1: little bit bruised. But did he not get you through it? So,
- 8:48Speaker 1: now that he's freed you from it, now he didn't
- 8:50Speaker 1: went on. He got a whole an other family over
- 8:52Speaker 1: that somewhere. He not. Now he trying to make it
- 8:54Speaker 1: right because maybe he learned the mistake he made and
- 8:57Speaker 1: now he trying to be a better man. He just
- 8:59Speaker 1: trying to get it right now. But you're sitting there
- 9:02Speaker 1: holding onto it. You're drinking the poison, waiting on your
- 9:06Speaker 1: enemy to die. So now instead of you enjoying the
- 9:08Speaker 1: blessing of finally being free from a situation that was
- 9:11Speaker 1: not healthy for you. You create an even more unhealthy
- 9:15Speaker 1: situation in your mind by hating, by having revengeful thoughts,
- 9:20Speaker 1: by hoping he fall on his face. Maybe you're even
- 9:23Speaker 1: doing something to the other situation to make sure they struggle.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Oh man, you're drinking the poison, waiting on your enemy
- 9:31Speaker 1: to die. Maybe you ain't where you ought to be
- 9:33Speaker 1: in life, not because of your external forces, but maybe
- 9:37Speaker 1: it's you. If you don't let it go, it's gonna
- 9:42Speaker 1: be hard for you to go. You can't keep driving
- 9:45Speaker 1: your car looking in the rear view mirror. Come on, man,
- 9:50Speaker 1: Forgiveness is not for the other person. Forgiveness is for
- 9:56Speaker 1: you to show. Ladies and gentlemen, let me have it
- 10:03Speaker 1: you undivided attention. Papa was who rolling stone. Wherever he
- 10:10Speaker 1: laid his hat was his home. All who he left
- 10:16Speaker 1: this was a loan. M M. Papa was who rolling Stone,

- 10:30Speaker 1: he died, oh, he left this was alone. Hey Mama,

- 12:01Speaker 1: of singing. No more man emotional that high note, that

- 19:17Speaker 1: take to be a star. Yes, I do know you don't.
- 19:20Speaker 1: If you do that, I'm going to be a start.
- 19:23Speaker 1: How are you gonna do it if you ain't part
- 19:25Speaker 1: of the larger Because I'm not a protographic star, idiot.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I got one more thing I need to say to you, though,
- 19:31Speaker 1: What is you listening? What do you want? This is
- 19:35Speaker 1: nephew tire me from the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You

- 21:05Speaker 1: year old uh woman and my father hooked me up
- 21:09Speaker 1: with a decent man and I've been dating him for
- 21:12Speaker 1: seven months. He works hard and he is a great man,
- 21:16Speaker 1: but he's not the one for me. We started having
- 21:19Speaker 1: sex a month ago and there were no sparks at all.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I know that this is a type of man I
- 21:25Speaker 1: should be with, but I prefer a street savvy guy
- 21:29Speaker 1: with a little edge to him, great in the bed,
- 21:32Speaker 1: but still loves the Lord. What's wrong with me? Do
- 21:35Speaker 1: you think I'm going to miss out on a good
- 21:37Speaker 1: thing because of what I prefer in a man, street savvy,
- 21:43Speaker 1: edge and love the Lord. Yeah, okay, that's okay. Let
- 21:51Speaker 1: me get it right. You won't street savvy, edge, love
- 21:55Speaker 1: the Lord and great in bed? Check check right. But
- 22:00Speaker 1: I'm assuming you have a great man who just for
- 22:04Speaker 1: you ain't great in bed. Yeah, pretty much. Y'all could
- 22:08Speaker 1: work on the sex part, but you're thirty seven, so
- 22:12Speaker 1: you're gonna pass on this man because y'all could have
- 22:16Speaker 1: better sex and he could happen. So I would reconsider
- 22:22Speaker 1: because I don't know how long you've been out there
- 22:25Speaker 1: on this grind looking for this man, this good man
- 22:29Speaker 1: and all is him. But if you want to get
- 22:31Speaker 1: back out there and see what else is out there,
- 22:32Speaker 1: go ahead. But there are a lot of people on
- 22:35Speaker 1: this on this listening that would tell you to work
- 22:38Speaker 1: on that. First. You've been with him seven months. I
- 22:41Speaker 1: put some effort into seeing if y'all can't stretch, stretch
- 22:44Speaker 1: straight out this sexual problem first, for you go throwing
- 22:47Speaker 1: this good man back in the track. Well, she doesn't
- 22:50Speaker 1: tell her daddy, Well, Daddy, you know I liked him
- 22:54Speaker 1: and everything, you know, like he was everything you said
- 22:56Speaker 1: he was. But damn, Daddy, this man right him, He couldn't.
- 23:01Speaker 1: He couldn't carol a toe if if I put it
- 23:03Speaker 1: in a tight shoe, lain that. Yeah, all right, Steve.
- 23:08Speaker 1: This one's from Caroline. Caroline in Greenville, Mississippi. She says,
- 23:12Speaker 1: I am sixty two years old and about nine months ago,
- 23:15Speaker 1: I started dating a man that I dated in high school.
- 23:19Speaker 1: We're both divorced, and he told me he was looking
- 23:21Speaker 1: for a good Christian woman. We're both seeking a stronger
- 23:24Speaker 1: relationship with God. But we slipped up and had sex
- 23:28Speaker 1: a few times. After the first time we had sex,
- 23:31Speaker 1: he told me he wants to marry me. That made
- 23:34Speaker 1: me feel better about us having sex before marriage. He
- 23:37Speaker 1: hasn't talked about marriage in a few months now, but
- 23:40Speaker 1: he still wants sex. Do you think he brought up
- 23:43Speaker 1: marriage so I would keep having sex with him. I'm
- 23:45Speaker 1: too old for games. This ain't no game is having
- 23:49Speaker 1: before this ain't no game. This happened before, so this
- 23:55Speaker 1: is not new. How old do you have to be
- 23:59Speaker 1: before you onderstand that? Men tell you what they think
- 24:02Speaker 1: you want to hear first, then after that, then we
- 24:07Speaker 1: tell you what makes us sound best next, and if
- 24:11Speaker 1: you keep persisting, we'll tell you the truth. You didn't persist.
- 24:15Speaker 1: You just ran up into your old guy from high school.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Y'all was both divorced, love the Lord, want a close
- 24:21Speaker 1: relationship with the Lord. Both y'all have sex a bunch
- 24:24Speaker 1: of din so you know, So y'all just in here,
- 24:29Speaker 1: just you know. I don't know what y'all doing with it,
- 24:32Speaker 1: but you know, just come on now, you're too old
- 24:34Speaker 1: for games. For games. He ain't about a marriage no
- 24:36Speaker 1: more because he don't won't get mad want though, right,
- 24:43Speaker 1: we know how to give you all that is man, Yeah,
- 24:47Speaker 1: all right. This one's from Brian and Atlanta. Stephen says,
- 24:50Speaker 1: I'm a single, middle aged man and my best friend
- 24:54Speaker 1: is a female. She has had me in the friend
- 24:57Speaker 1: zone for years, but I'm in love with her. I
- 25:00Speaker 1: have told her this and she says she loves me too,
- 25:02Speaker 1: but she's not in love with me. Bottom line is
- 25:05Speaker 1: she wants a man. With a lot of money and
- 25:07Speaker 1: that's not me. We do everything together like we're a couple,
- 25:11Speaker 1: but she won't date me. How can I show her
- 25:13Speaker 1: that money is not all that matters? Clo, I don't
- 25:17Speaker 1: know how unrich go? Okay, whoa WOA show her? Yeah?
- 25:39Speaker 1: How can I show her that money is not all
- 25:41Speaker 1: that matters? Get to show her? How is? He doesn't
- 25:50Speaker 1: give his age? He's literally middle aged, middle aged man
- 25:54Speaker 1: thirty to fifty thirty eight depending a middle aged He
- 26:01Speaker 1: ain't middle aged? See what a man don't tell you
- 26:04Speaker 1: his age? He up, and he tried to explain why
- 26:09Speaker 1: he ain't done yet. That's why, because dudes ain't No,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I'm a middle aged man, and how do you fit it? So?
- 26:18Speaker 1: How do I get How do I get her money?
- 26:27Speaker 1: Money is not all that matters? It ain't Listen to me, sir.
- 26:34Speaker 1: He's in love with her. I know, I know, with
- 26:39Speaker 1: a lot of money and that's not me, he said.
- 26:43Speaker 1: When I got that right, Man, well you saying it best.
- 26:51Speaker 1: That's just not you, and so well, bro, listen to me. Man.
- 26:56Speaker 1: You know, man, you had in the friend zone. I
- 26:59Speaker 1: told y'all, men ain't really trying to be your friends.
- 27:01Speaker 1: But you know you had any friends? How do I
- 27:04Speaker 1: get her? Money? Is not all that matters. Well, you're
- 27:10Speaker 1: gonna have to excel into other things. Brother, You're gonna
- 27:14Speaker 1: have to want her every other thing. Every I'm talking about.
- 27:21Speaker 1: You're gonna have to get good at every other damn
- 27:24Speaker 1: thing and overshadow the fact man in the words, in
- 27:33Speaker 1: the words of the Great Fight Trainer, you can do
- 27:38Speaker 1: it wrong. You're listening to old school relationship advice means
- 27:48Speaker 1: well most of the time, but some of it is
- 27:51Speaker 1: out of touch and should become a thing of the past.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Some of these rules or tips need to be redefined
- 27:57Speaker 1: and clarified for the time we live in now. This
- 28:00Speaker 1: is according to psychologist doctor Joshua Clappale, for example, clap
- 28:06Speaker 1: clapal for example, Steve the old cliche and this is biblical.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Don't go to bed angry. Uh. Doctor clap Howe says,
- 28:18Speaker 1: we've heard this classic, but it's unrealistic and sometimes going
- 28:22Speaker 1: to bed mad and sleeping on it is better. What
- 28:25Speaker 1: do you say, do you well? I don't know what
- 28:28Speaker 1: were you with that. I wish we could go to
- 28:30Speaker 1: bed and not be mad. I really do, right, I
- 28:33Speaker 1: don't nobody want to go to bed mad. You know,
- 28:36Speaker 1: you got to sleep back to each other. Somebody roll
- 28:41Speaker 1: over and touch you. You jumping? You don't damn foot off.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Nobody wants that. I think it's better to do that. Now.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Is it realistic to expect not to ever go to bed? Man? Now?
- 28:52Speaker 1: I don't think it is. That's what he's saying. But
- 28:55Speaker 1: that show ainclude to go to bed man. We're gonna
- 28:58Speaker 1: be up all night, or you wake up mad. You
- 29:01Speaker 1: let me tell you something that you know. I hate that.
- 29:05Speaker 1: If you let a woman go to bed mad, she
- 29:07Speaker 1: wake up, she's gonna be just as mad or mad
- 29:12Speaker 1: because she'd thought about some most stuff. Yeah, now dude's
- 29:16Speaker 1: wake up and go, hey, baby, how you doing? How
- 29:19Speaker 1: the hell you think? How was our last night? When
- 29:22Speaker 1: you shut your eyes exactly? Yeah? So no, I think
- 29:26Speaker 1: he's wrong about it's not healthy. All right? Doctor clip
- 29:30Speaker 1: House says you can change them. He says it's a
- 29:34Speaker 1: romantic idea, the old cliche you can change them. But
- 29:38Speaker 1: he points out it's not your responsibility to change anyone, right.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I agree with it's not your job to change anyone.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Nor don't you nor do you have the ability? Right?
- 29:50Speaker 1: That's something that women have I mean we may as
- 29:52Speaker 1: well admit that we're always trying to change. And I
- 29:55Speaker 1: think it's the nurturer in us. We always Yeah, we
- 29:58Speaker 1: all change him. Yeah change. I know he's like that
- 30:01Speaker 1: right now. But once he gave me six months, Yeah, yeah,
- 30:04Speaker 1: let me work on him. Yeah, I got this. You're
- 30:08Speaker 1: gonna have to work it every day, though, every day
- 30:11Speaker 1: I change, you do it everything. Yeah, but by women
- 30:15Speaker 1: are of that, all right. Here's another one. Some people
- 30:18Speaker 1: never change. That's the cliche, the old school cliche. Doctor
- 30:22Speaker 1: clip Howe says, on the flip side, the suggestion that
- 30:26Speaker 1: someone is incapable of changing is wrong, and it ignores
- 30:30Speaker 1: the fact that we all have control over our choices.
- 30:34Speaker 1: So I absolutely agree with that. That's one. Yeah, he's
- 30:38Speaker 1: only said one thing I didn't agree with, and that
- 30:41Speaker 1: was the first one. Yeah. I agree with that. You
- 30:43Speaker 1: don't go to bed will change. Yeah, people change man
- 30:46Speaker 1: all right all the time. Here's another one, old school.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Love will keep you together. Love keep you together. He says,
- 30:54Speaker 1: this works in an old romantic movie, but in real
- 30:58Speaker 1: life it takes a lot more than love to make
- 31:01Speaker 1: it work. WHOA what love got to do? Yeah? Got
- 31:08Speaker 1: to do? What love? But a second handed move shot,
- 31:17Speaker 1: try to take it off. Gotta do it. Ain't got
- 31:20Speaker 1: nothing to do with it. Many. Yeah, you gotta honor
- 31:25Speaker 1: that commitment. You got to compromise, love, understanding, take the blame,
- 31:33Speaker 1: not be right all the time. Yeah, it never worked
- 31:42Speaker 1: for me never. All right, here's junior. It's that love thing.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I told her I love her, But my replacement was
- 31:48Speaker 1: at the dog when you I'm just like, who is this?
- 31:53Speaker 1: Oh this Chris? We're going to dinner? You ain't Chris.
- 31:55Speaker 1: I love you though. To the love to the life
- 31:57Speaker 1: and get the lad through. You've been play hard. Yeah,
- 32:03Speaker 1: it's almost like what but you've grown up now, you're
- 32:06Speaker 1: for now. Yeah, you're good now. Yeah that was back.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Yeah I had We've all been through some things. Yea
- 32:14Speaker 1: up to the game. Yeah all right, old school love
- 32:17Speaker 1: will keep. I mean, know your role in the relationship.
- 32:20Speaker 1: That's old school. Doctor Clappal says, forget this old gender
- 32:23Speaker 1: stereotype and remember there's not a required way for you
- 32:28Speaker 1: to act. Your role in a relationship shouldn't always be
- 32:33Speaker 1: the same. It's constantly shifting. Mist No, your role in
- 32:41Speaker 1: the relationship, that's old school thinking. Okay, Doctor clip How
- 32:45Speaker 1: says forget this old gender stereotype and remember there is
- 32:49Speaker 1: not a required way for you to act. That's new
- 32:53Speaker 1: school thinking. He says. Your role in a relationship isn't
- 32:56Speaker 1: going to be the same all the time. It's constantly changing,
- 33:00Speaker 1: and that's a good thing, that's what he's saying. He says,
- 33:03Speaker 1: it'll shift organically. Yeah, yeah, and that's a good thing.
- 33:10Speaker 1: You think your roles should stay the same in a relationship, Well,
- 33:13Speaker 1: I mean I think I think your roles have to
- 33:17Speaker 1: be defined so that everybody has an understanding of positioning.
- 33:24Speaker 1: And then I think there has to be some type
- 33:27Speaker 1: of alved give and take where sometimes the other person
- 33:31Speaker 1: can do that. I'm not saying, like roles like you
- 33:34Speaker 1: do all the cleaning eye, I'm not talking about that. Yeah,
- 33:37Speaker 1: but if you're good with money, yeah, do anything. Yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 1: I mean you know that. And if you either side,
- 33:44Speaker 1: if you roll playing, then your roles change. Like you know,
- 33:48Speaker 1: I might be bad man one night, you know what
- 33:50Speaker 1: I'm saying, but then next night I might be in
- 33:52Speaker 1: credible hook. You know what I'm saying. Your roles do change.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I have to know that organically right now for and
- 33:59Speaker 1: organic or ganty and realistically, you're neither one. All right,
- 34:06Speaker 1: here's old school. You should stay with them for better
- 34:09Speaker 1: or for worse, he says. He says. We all want
- 34:14Speaker 1: to think our partner will stick around no matter what.
- 34:16Speaker 1: But if a relationship is unhealthy, you don't. You don't
- 34:20Speaker 1: need to stick it out. Out get out, all right,
- 34:26Speaker 1: we do have to get out. You're listening to? All right?
- 34:32Speaker 1: It is time for a round of would you rather
- 34:35Speaker 1: let's jump right in. Would you rather silent treatment from
- 34:39Speaker 1: your mate? Or would you rather argue with your mate?
- 34:43Speaker 1: Just solve it with an argument? All right? Would you
- 34:45Speaker 1: rather silent silent treatment? Give me silent? I knew you
- 34:54Speaker 1: won't anyway, all right? Would you rather your mate initiate
- 35:01Speaker 1: sex every time? Or would you rather skip sex for
- 35:04Speaker 1: a year? Your mate initiates sex every time? Or you
- 35:09Speaker 1: skip sex? Raise up against me, whatever it takes, yes,
- 35:18Speaker 1: come on, all right, all right? Would you would you
- 35:25Speaker 1: rather give an X five hundred thousand dollars? B okay?
- 35:32Speaker 1: All right? Or listen? Would you rather give an X
- 35:35Speaker 1: five hundred thousand dollars? Or would you rather sleep with
- 35:38Speaker 1: an X just one more time? Hey, nobody want to
- 35:48Speaker 1: go back to that? You were so sure though, Steve
- 35:52Speaker 1: initiate for a reason. Boy, Hey here, congratulations by house,
- 36:00Speaker 1: get the McDonald's or whatever you need to do McDonald's. Jay,
- 36:07Speaker 1: haven't heard from you. Uh, if we could lower that price,
- 36:11Speaker 1: we might have work that man. And if you can
- 36:14Speaker 1: come down on that price, that that folds right now,
- 36:18Speaker 1: you feel to sleep little. That's what you're leaning towards.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I'm just trying to work out a price as reasonable
- 36:29Speaker 1: the price. Tell you what? I tell you what? Jay? Who? Whatever?
- 36:37Speaker 1: How was you out there to consider going old back? Boy?
- 36:43Speaker 1: That what came through Jake drafted it brown in the
- 36:47Speaker 1: build was nice. Who would you rather be kissed on
- 36:55Speaker 1: the lips by a complete stranger? Or would you rather
- 36:58Speaker 1: be licked on the lips by a dog? I ain't
- 37:04Speaker 1: doing it. I don't do dog. No, no, you can
- 37:06Speaker 1: go give me that stranger. Just let me pick up
- 37:09Speaker 1: franger in COVID. Hey that dog, that dog stay. Dog
- 37:17Speaker 1: mouths are cleaner than he who told you that told
- 37:22Speaker 1: you that. I've seen the dog licks some things. And
- 37:26Speaker 1: if he lick your lips you wake up in the morning,
- 37:29Speaker 1: your lips will be on the pillow. Just fall off,
- 37:36Speaker 1: all right? Thank you? That is our round of would
- 37:40Speaker 1: you rather for today. You're listening to show. All right,
- 37:46Speaker 1: Steve your man, your boy in nineteen eighty six, as
- 37:52Speaker 1: you told us earlier, not staying hit though, Junior and Tommy,
- 38:02Speaker 1: all you guys are here for what you say, what
- 38:05Speaker 1: you say you're gonna do. You tell them Jay, what
- 38:07Speaker 1: you say you're gonna You know everybody roped rounding about
- 38:10Speaker 1: this time. People make plans or I'm gonna do this.
- 38:12Speaker 1: It's gonna be a new year. I'm gonna start off friends,
- 38:15Speaker 1: But I got it right here. What you say you're
- 38:17Speaker 1: gonna do and what you're really gonna do. Now, you
- 38:20Speaker 1: say you're gonna go to the gym and work out,
- 38:23Speaker 1: but what you're gonna do is joining membership, go one
- 38:26Speaker 1: day with your big ass, and then you're gonna complain
- 38:29Speaker 1: that machines is nasty and you ain't going back. That's
- 38:32Speaker 1: what you don't do. That's what you really donna do.
- 38:35Speaker 1: You say you're gonna save some money this year, that's
- 38:39Speaker 1: what you say you gonna do. I'm saving money saving
- 38:42Speaker 1: You didn't save about five hundred. As soon as that
- 38:45Speaker 1: sale come around, it's all ye. That's what you say
- 38:50Speaker 1: you're gonna do, But what you're really gonna do. You
- 38:53Speaker 1: say you're gonna be nicer to your mother in law.
- 38:56Speaker 1: You're gonna call on the phone trying to be nice.
- 38:59Speaker 1: You're gonna about three minutes into this damn conversation, it
- 39:03Speaker 1: ain't worth talking to her ass at all. That's what
- 39:05Speaker 1: you'll say you're gonna do. And what you're gonna do, ladies,
- 39:11Speaker 1: you said everywhere, I'm getting rid of him. He's useless,
- 39:15Speaker 1: he ain't no good, he ain't doing nothing but taking
- 39:18Speaker 1: me down. And I'm gonna be about me this year.
- 39:21Speaker 1: But what you're gonna do is let him hit it
- 39:23Speaker 1: one more time and then you're gonna break it up.
- 39:25Speaker 1: That's what you do. Wow, I wasn't expecting that. You
- 39:33Speaker 1: don't let you gonna let it get it one? You
- 39:38Speaker 1: gonna do that? What you're really gonna do? You say,
- 39:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna stop smoking that stuff. I ain't smoking no
- 39:45Speaker 1: mote because it ain't good for you. But dude, gonna
- 39:48Speaker 1: look at that big stash you got of this hit. Well,
- 39:50Speaker 1: I got to clean that up. I got to get
- 39:52Speaker 1: rid of all of that. Yeah, let that go away. Jay,
- 39:57Speaker 1: got one? You got one. Let me know you do
- 40:00Speaker 1: don't do? And what you do you make your New
- 40:03Speaker 1: Year's resolution that you ain't gonna cuss no more. You
- 40:07Speaker 1: headed to your best friend. Hey, man, I ain't gonna
- 40:11Speaker 1: custom more. He said, Well, your fat ass should have
- 40:13Speaker 1: said you're gonna lose some weight instead. Man, just right
- 40:25Speaker 1: the man, kiss my kiss money. That's what you're really
- 40:32Speaker 1: gonna do here, money. Yeah, that's a resolution, as he
- 40:39Speaker 1: said about your weight, do some way. What you can
- 40:43Speaker 1: do is kiss my you know what? Right right off?
- 40:47Speaker 1: Black ass. Yeah, now that's go. Oh you say you're
- 40:51Speaker 1: gonna spend more time with your grandkids because you love them.
- 40:54Speaker 1: You don't get to see him much. They're gonna come
- 40:57Speaker 1: over that one day. You're gonna figure out it's just
- 40:59Speaker 1: better to sitting there as five dollars in a card
- 41:02Speaker 1: and call it a damn gating. I don't need him
- 41:07Speaker 1: over here at all, but not least I'm gonna read
- 41:13Speaker 1: the Bible more. Come on God, because I need him
- 41:19Speaker 1: in my life. Out Joel Osten, come on in the morning,
- 41:24Speaker 1: and I got this. I got to read a damn
- 41:32Speaker 1: that's what's gonna do. And what you're gonna do that, Jake,
- 41:44Speaker 1: how about this, Jake? You got one? You got one.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I ain't eating pork no more. Yes, I gave it up.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Pork every year. I'm giving it up right after first.
- 41:52Speaker 1: I ain't gonna have January first, sausage bason all on
- 41:59Speaker 1: the same plate with eggs. Grif you wouldn't gonna give up,
- 42:03Speaker 1: that's what you're really gonna do. You decided that you
- 42:10Speaker 1: gonna pay your ties this year. I'm playing all my
- 42:14Speaker 1: tish this year. Next Sunday passed to pull up in
- 42:17Speaker 1: the new ride. I'm not helping him make payments now,
- 42:22Speaker 1: That's what I'm not. Hell, no, I'm not giving it
- 42:31Speaker 1: all right, guys, thank you so much. Coming up next
- 42:33Speaker 1: the nephew in the building with the frank phone call
- 42:36Speaker 1: for today. Right after this, you're listening to the Steve
- 42:41Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show coming up in the top of the hour,
- 42:45Speaker 1: right about four minutes after. It's my strawberry letter for today.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Subject my husband's drinking is no longer a secret. But
- 42:53Speaker 1: right now it is the nephew where we know who

- 52:25Speaker 1: we're reading this one right now. Let's go, nephew, buckle up,
- 52:29Speaker 1: hold on tight. Here it is the straw Dary. My
- 52:33Speaker 1: husband's drinking is no longer a secret. Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 52:37Speaker 1: My husband and I have been married for fifteen years
- 52:40Speaker 1: and we have two children. My husband is a functioning alcoholic.
- 52:45Speaker 1: He can work a full day without drinking, but as
- 52:49Speaker 1: soon as he's off the clock, he starts drinking. He
- 52:53Speaker 1: drinks in private. He doesn't leave his alcohol out where
- 52:56Speaker 1: I can see it, but I can always smell it
- 52:59Speaker 1: in his up. This started shortly after we got married,
- 53:03Speaker 1: and I allowed it and never confronted him. I can
- 53:06Speaker 1: always tell when he's been drinking by the changes in
- 53:09Speaker 1: his behavior and how he treats me and the kids.
- 53:13Speaker 1: It's gotten worse recently, and I brought it to his attention.
- 53:16Speaker 1: I told him that I know exactly what he's up to.
- 53:20Speaker 1: He says that he drinks too unwind every now and then. Well,
- 53:24Speaker 1: a few weeks ago, he left work early for a
- 53:26Speaker 1: doctor's appointment, and later that evening he came home in
- 53:29Speaker 1: an uber and he was totally wasted. He could not
- 53:33Speaker 1: stand up, and he was talking so much trash that
- 53:36Speaker 1: I had to tell the kids to leave the room.
- 53:39Speaker 1: He called me all kinds of names and told me
- 53:42Speaker 1: that he was miserable in our marriage. The next day,
- 53:48Speaker 1: I took the kids and left him. I've been staying
- 53:51Speaker 1: with my mom for three weeks, and during that time
- 53:54Speaker 1: I encouraged him to get some help. My husband is
- 53:57Speaker 1: great when he's sober, but he needs some professional help
- 54:00Speaker 1: with his drinking. I have checked out, and I'm no
- 54:03Speaker 1: longer trying to keep our marriage going. He visits me
- 54:06Speaker 1: and the kids and we still do some things as
- 54:09Speaker 1: a family, and he's always sober when we see him.
- 54:12Speaker 1: He wants more, but I don't. Neither of us can
- 54:15Speaker 1: afford to live on our own. What should I do? Well,
- 54:20Speaker 1: I mean, the obvious thing is there's no kind of marriage.
- 54:24Speaker 1: If you're just staying together because you can't afford to
- 54:27Speaker 1: live on your own, you can't afford to live apart,
- 54:30Speaker 1: that's no marriage. I mean, what about real love and
- 54:33Speaker 1: real relationship and a real marriage. I mean, you're absolutely right,
- 54:38Speaker 1: as his wife and as his friend hopefully to encourage
- 54:41Speaker 1: him to get some help, because that and the Lord himself,
- 54:45Speaker 1: it seems, are the only things that can make this
- 54:47Speaker 1: situation better and work this situation out. You know you've
- 54:52Speaker 1: allowed it. You've been married for fifteen years. You've allowed it.
- 54:55Speaker 1: He started drinking shortly after you got married, and you
- 54:58Speaker 1: say you did allow it and never confronted him about it.
- 55:01Speaker 1: You can always tell when he's drinking because you can
- 55:04Speaker 1: smell it. This thing has blown up. It's blown out
- 55:07Speaker 1: of proportion. Now he's stumbling drunk when he comes in.
- 55:10Speaker 1: He can't even drive home. At least he has a
- 55:13Speaker 1: wherewithal to know that he shouldn't be driving when he's
- 55:16Speaker 1: that wasted. So I encourage you to continue to encourage
- 55:21Speaker 1: him to get some help. And if he doesn't get
- 55:23Speaker 1: any help, it does look like this marriage is over.
- 55:27Speaker 1: And that's unfortunate because you guys have kids. But he
- 55:31Speaker 1: says he's been miserable since the very beginning. What, Steve, Yeah,
- 55:37Speaker 1: he says he's been miserable since since the very beginning.
- 55:40Speaker 1: And you're not willing, you don't want anymore either. But
- 55:44Speaker 1: the part about you can't afford to live on your own,
- 55:47Speaker 1: you're gonna have to work that out, Get a second job,
- 55:50Speaker 1: do whatever you have to do, because it looks like
- 55:52Speaker 1: this marriage is doomed, especially if he doesn't get any
- 55:55Speaker 1: help and change his behavior. Steve, let me, let me
- 55:59Speaker 1: let me just read something to y'all. Okay, my husband
- 56:02Speaker 1: and I have been made fifteen years. We have two children.
- 56:08Speaker 1: My husband is a functioning alcoholic. He could work a
- 56:11Speaker 1: full day without drinking, but as soon as he get
- 56:14Speaker 1: off the clock, he starts drinking. Do that sound for me?
- 56:20Speaker 1: I don't know what you're saying, Steve. I hope, I hope.
- 56:24Speaker 1: I don't know. Fifteen years, got two kids. No one
- 56:31Speaker 1: we know wrote this letter, Steve. I didn't ask you,
- 56:34Speaker 1: do you know who wrote it? I asked you that
- 56:37Speaker 1: this part right here sound familiar to anybody other than me? No? Well?
- 56:43Speaker 1: To me, no, well, it sounds familiar to me. What
- 56:48Speaker 1: are you saying? Just say it anyway? He started. Here's
- 56:57Speaker 1: another one. This started shortly. I'll say it again. This
- 57:04Speaker 1: started shortly. Oh, the word and everybody that that sounds
- 57:11Speaker 1: like anybody? We know why because of the word shortly, shortly.
- 57:16Speaker 1: This letter is full of clues. It is not a
- 57:20Speaker 1: mystery that we're trying to solve. We're trying to help
- 57:23Speaker 1: this lady. And this is what she said. I can
- 57:26Speaker 1: always tell when he'd been drinking by the changes in
- 57:30Speaker 1: his behavior. Who the hell can't everybody? Everybody knows somebody
- 57:38Speaker 1: when they start drinking. She's sitting up here like she
- 57:43Speaker 1: the head a damn revolution or revelation comes in here
- 57:46Speaker 1: talking about No, I can always tell when he's been drinking.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Who can't. I'll be back, yeah, with part two of
- 57:55Speaker 1: your response. Today's subject is my husband's drinking is no
- 58:00Speaker 1: longer a secret? Will be back at twenty three after
- 58:03Speaker 1: the hour you're listening, All right, Steve, let's go. Let's recap.
- 58:10Speaker 1: The subject is my husband's drinking is no longer a secret. Well,
- 58:15Speaker 1: here's a dude who this woman claims as a functioning alcoholic.
- 58:20Speaker 1: He drinks in private, he never leave alcohol out where
- 58:24Speaker 1: they could see it. This started after they gotten married. Yeah,
- 58:28Speaker 1: and she never confronted him. She can always tell when
- 58:32Speaker 1: he's been drinking because it changes any behavior, and the
- 58:36Speaker 1: way he treat me and a kid has gotten worse recently.
- 58:38Speaker 1: I bought it to his attention. I told him I
- 58:40Speaker 1: know exactly what he's up to. He says he drinks
- 58:43Speaker 1: unwind every nine need well. A few weeks ago, he
- 58:47Speaker 1: left work early for doctor's appointment. Later that evening, he
- 58:51Speaker 1: came home in an uber and was totally wasted. This
- 58:55Speaker 1: when you drunk, when you leave your car anywhere, and
- 58:58Speaker 1: you don't leave your car telling some people after the
- 59:02Speaker 1: ball go hey hey you can't drive alright, Hell right,
- 59:07Speaker 1: we're calling you an uber and let's thank God for
- 59:10Speaker 1: stuff like that. He couldn't stand up. He was talking
- 59:14Speaker 1: so much trash. I had to tell the kids to
- 59:16Speaker 1: lead the room. He called me all kinds of names.
- 59:19Speaker 1: See when you get drunking, come out. And finally he
- 59:23Speaker 1: told me, this is what I was thinking the drinking
- 59:26Speaker 1: was about. He was miserable in our marriage. Yeah, that's
- 59:30Speaker 1: what he said, miserable. But let me share something with you,
- 59:34Speaker 1: th old lady, you've been miserable too, if you honestly
- 59:38Speaker 1: think about it, and I'll show you why. I know
- 59:40Speaker 1: you've been miserable because the next day you took the
- 59:43Speaker 1: kids and you left. I've been staying with my mom
- 59:45Speaker 1: for three weeks, and during that time I've encouraged him
- 59:48Speaker 1: to get some help, and he need help. My husband
- 59:50Speaker 1: is great when he's sober, but he needs some professional
- 59:53Speaker 1: help with his drinking. I checked out and I no
- 59:56Speaker 1: longer trying to keep our marriage going. That's because you've
- 59:58Speaker 1: been through for a long time. This was just the
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: tip of the iceberg. This was just the straw that
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: broke the camel's back. You got sick of it. This
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: was the last time. See, you've been miserable too, So
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: don't wear this just because this drunk dude and came
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: in here and had a revelation in front of you
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: and a kid. I've been miserable in the marriage. You
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: went soberly. You went, well, i'll be dam I have
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: to and me and the kids is over mama's house.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Now you're gonna have to go on the act like
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: a girl. Now he the one got to move. You
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: go back to the house. Let him move. She put
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: up with it for a long time. Yeah, he visits
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: me and the kids. We still do some things together
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: the family, and he's always sober when we seen. He
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: wants more, but I don't. Neither of us can afford
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: to live on our own. What should I do? Well?
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: You fit to be roommates with alcoholic. You ain't got
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: the money to go nowhere. He ain't got enough money
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: to put you out something. You're fit to live with
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: an alcoholic as a roommate, telling kids quick calling him daddy,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: started calling him Jerome. Yeah, let's telling kids and hit
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: your daddy no more. He's a roommate. Don't do nothing
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: together as a family no more. When he come in
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: the room, y'all cut the TV off in league, But
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: he's sober when they see him. When they go out
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: on family outing, he gonna get drunk less he gets
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: some help, Yeah, yeah, he definitely needs and if he
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: wants more, he gonna drink when he gets off work,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: and you're gonna have another episode. My suggestion to you
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: is follow your heart. He has to get help before
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: he can come back. He's probably a great guy, like
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: you say, But after he gets help and completes the
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: program twelve step and every Wednesday, probably had to go
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: on in every time. I'm Jerome, I'm an alcoholic because
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: they make you say that at the meetings. I ain't
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: never been to the meetings before. I've seen it on
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: TV in movies, like I had to go into. I
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: was in a group one time that was, you know,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: with physical disadvantages. I was in the group one time
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: when you had to stand up and admit your flaw.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: What I've had to do that before? And what did
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: you stand up? Ad met? Tom Steve and I have
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: big limps. I've had to say that big limpidonymous. Yeah.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: And then but the ladies standing next to me, how
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: I'm class and I have a huge nose. And I
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: looked at her and I went, damn, man, you should
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: have been in this class where you be. I don't
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: know how you deal with that. Can you see anybody
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: on your right limp with your other such a group?
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Is there that problem is? You know I was looking
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: at getting into him. You know what I'm saying. I
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: just try to stay abreast to these type of help
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: groups cases. People out there listening to straw bed letter
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: that need help. You know, they got they got class
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: with high Yeah, I'm harold and I'm uggled that class
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: waiting lists though that hasn't waiting waiting to get in that. Yeah,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: how do you get help for that? Though? I mean
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: from being ugly? No, what you do, you can't get
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: help from being ugly? You have you heard? You learn coping? Coping, y'all?
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: How to deal with it? Like you know, don't don't
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: stay in the mirror longer than ten seconds, because you
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: can't at of time ten seconds? Just do your hair
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: and get on. Don't you brush your teeth in the
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: mirror and stuff? And I don't. I'll be in my
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: calls at brushing my teeth because I know, not standing
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: there and look at it, because I'm gonna see something wrong.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Because if you stat yourself long enough, you know one
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: of your eyes ain't the same size as the other one. Well,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: you just kept it too. Yeah, one of my lips
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: is bigger than the other one, which one top or
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: bottom or the bottom? I can't easily to bottom that
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: thing got some weight, like some canny bottom lip around
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: like walking around with a five pound bag of sugar
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: on your face. To do that, You're crazy? All right, Well, listen,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: we gotta go. Thank you, for that, Steve. Uh, you
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: know I'm here for you. Yeah, I see. You can
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: email us or instagram us your thoughts on today's Strawberry
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Letter at Steve Harvey FM, or you can go to
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: My Girls Shirley. You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: All right, guys, time for a comedy roulette. Today's categories
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: are things you say to people to help you move. Lies,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: men tell to get out of the house, lies women
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: tell to get out of the house, the warm uh huh.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: And lastly, stuff white people say to black people that
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: they think is really cool. All right, Oh yeah, let's
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: spend the wheel, spun it. Okay, come on, come on,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: come on, getting out the house, come on, let's go.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Oh it stopped. And stuff white people say to black
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: people that they think is really cool. Let's let's get
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: right into it. Let's get right into it. Here we go.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: We just sliced up a whole lot of watermelon. I'm
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: sure you like it. I'm sure you like it. So um,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: do all of you all know the hip hop thing? Oh?
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Y'all know hip hop? Don't you? White people say the
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: black people that they think it's really cool. I really
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: want my I really want my lips to look like yours. Really,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Oh my god, Niggie wasn't small at all. White people
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: say the black people that they think is really I
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: don't really mean to be out of line, but could
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: I just touch your ass? Just touch? Let me ask
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: you something. I don't really know you guys that well,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: but do you all have chicken farms? Hey? Dude, listen,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: if you ever really want it, you know, I can
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: teach you how to swim. People, they think, Yeah, I'll
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: tell you this first lady doesn't compare to yours. I
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: know that was a deep one. Yeah, so let me
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: get this right. You went to college, but not on
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: a basketball scholarship? All right, Steve, who's the daddy? Yeah,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: I'll just tell you I'm perfectly fine with another African
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: American president. Yeah, I have a problem with the one
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: we had. All right, Thanks, guys, you're listening to all right?
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: Yahoo is reporting, guys, a new pole that finds fifty
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: nine percent of couples say that they suspected their partner
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: of cheating. If they suspected them, they would discuss the
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: matter with them rather than jumping to conclusions. I'm going
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: to say that again for the lateies. Okay. Fifty nine
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: percent of couples say that if they suspected their partner
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: of cheating, they would discuss the matter with them rather
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: than jumping to conclusions. Okay, cool, Let me ask you
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: a question, Shirley and call them now. Let me ask
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: you a question. Just listen to this question. If you
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: suspected a husband of cheating and it was not on
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: the internet, nobody knew, none of your co workers, it
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: was not it wasn't made public. If you suspected your
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: husband of cheating, would you bring it up calmly? Would
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: you bring it up with anger? How would you do it? Probably?
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: All of the above for me without the calm though
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: you're already nowhere on the coming bigger all of it.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: All of the above for me, without the calm anger.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: If I suspected that not yet? No, well, I mean,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: if you had suspicious, you ain't had no proof, You ain't,
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: you ain't heard nothing, you ain't got no pictures, ain't no,
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: ain't on internet, and none of that. But Steve, you
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: know we have intuition. You know we have intuition. Disappointing
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: to you, mister Harvey, I don't know. I'm just trying
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: to see what y'all would do. I don't really and
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: and the word discussion I have a problem with. There
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: will be no discussion. Well all you gonna just find
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: out on your own first, liked you little c s.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: I let me ask you a question. Suppose you discovered
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: that you were wrong about him and that he wasn't cheating.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: What happens at that point? All, then I'm apologizing and
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: begging to his forgiveness, begging for his forgiveness and threatening
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: him he better not do it. You see what happens? Yeah,
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: God in the tart, you gotta do that. Yeah, you
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: apologize for your wrongdoing, but you know, make it up
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: to him, you know all of that. Wow, that's any
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: more questions? We're here for it. No, y'all's answers, Yeah
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: and truthful, And there's no one. There's no one in between,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: ain't no? You know that's I don't like talking to y'all.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: Were you expecting something else? I don't know what I expected,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: but that wasn't it. You've obviously been through this before.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I found out, though, Uh, what's
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: I'm fine out? I ain't fired up to have a
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: discussion once they fired out. I'll cheat this, it's all
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: you're ugland sitting up here. Got the need cheat? No,
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: you didn't know, but Junior, don't you know that money
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: changes things? Yeah? How you get the nerve that was before?
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Look at you now? But see Tommy saying, dang Junior
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: like you can't believe Junior called himself ugly. Tommy, you're ugly. No,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: I am not, am not gonna let you break. Stop
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: doing that. You go listen twenty eighteen. You're not gonna
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: do this. I'm not. I'm gonna tell the truth in
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: two thousand and eighteen. Are you fine? No, I'm not
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: no fine, and I'm not out. But I ain't just
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: been to be ugly little No, I'm not doing that. Dog.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: You're not fine, and I'm not ugly. But listen to me.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: If you're not fine, then by a long ship? What
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: you think that is? Why you do that to him?
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: I don't know why Tommy keep thinking he cute, but
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: you're not cute. I didn't say I was cute. I'm
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: just saying I'm not listen to me. Listen to me.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: You look strang I'm decent. I don't look strang man.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: You do not looks great. Get a mirror and look
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: at yourself from the side. You're strange. Look I'm not strange.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: Don't tell me you are. You look strange all everybody,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: all the men in our family, we're strange. Looking from
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: the side. Look't have fun with the time when you
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: accepted Tommy, He's never going to accept that. You guys
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: know that I'm not doing it. You're listening to all right, Steve,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: It is time for a quick health and wellness shout out.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Give some um. You know you want. You want to
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: keep healthy thoughts and people being healthy, and you're launching
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: a brand new product, So tell us about your elevation
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: well On January third, I have a new product coming out.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: It's called Elevate You by Green by Steve Harvey. It's
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: a green Vitality daily green drink that I have a
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: special composition that I had put in here to help
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: cover your mitochondracts. And what that is it It it
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: helps you from the cellular level. What a lot of
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: people don't understand is you take vitamins and stuff that
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: never reach your cellular level when you drink greens. Greens
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: especially are designed to go straight to your cellular level
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: and make you feel better on the cellular level, helps
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: give you better mental capacity, increases your energy where you
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: can work out more. It's not a workout product, it's
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: not protein. It gives you the energy, so you have
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: the energy to go for your walks, the energy to
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: work out, you know, the energy to think more. Clearly,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: it's a lot of energy and it does wonders for
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: your digestive system. And that's so the things I've been
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: working on. People say, Steve, you look young man, and
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: I do, and I feel young because I take care
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: of myself on the cellular level. So on January third,
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: and the launch is called Elevate You by Steve Harvey's
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: a daily vitality green drink and it's just the thing

- 1:13:58Speaker 1: for a round of would you rather? Let's jump right in.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Would you rather silent treatment from your mate? Or would
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: you rather argue with your mate? Just solve it with
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: an argument? All right? Would you rather silent silent treatment?
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: Give me silent? I knew you won't anyway? All right?
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: Would you rather your mate initiate sex every time? Or
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: would you rather skip sex for a year? Your mate
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: initiates sex every time? Or you skip sex? What raise
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: up against me? Whatever it takes? Yes, come on, all right,
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: all right? Would you would you rather give an X
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: five hundred thousand dollars? Okay, all right? Or listen? Would
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: you rather give X five hundred thousand dollars? Or would
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: you rather sleep with an X just one more time? Hey?
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: I don't nobody want to go back to that. You
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: were so sure though, Steve initials for a reason for
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: Hey here, congratulations, buy house, getter McDonald's or whatever you
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: need to do McDonald's getting friends. Jay, haven't heard from you. Uh,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: if we could lower that price, we might go work
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: that mount. And if you could come down on that price,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: that that five hundred dollars right now? You feel to
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: sleep little, that's what you're leaning towards. I'm just trying
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: to work out a price as reasonable. The price tell
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: you what, I'll tell you what old ja whatever? How
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: would you out there to consider going old back boy
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: who that one came through drafted the brown in the
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: bull was nice boiler. Would you rather be kissed on
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: the lips by a complete stranger? Or would you rather
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: be licked on the lips by a dog? I ain't doing.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: I don't do dog. Now you're gonna give me that stranger?
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: Just let me pick stranger in Covid. Hey that dog,
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: that dog stay dogs mouths than he who told you
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: that told you that. But I've seen a dog lick
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: some things. And if he licked your lips you wake
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: up in the morning, your lips would be on the pillow,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: just fall off. All right, thank you. That is our
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: round of would you rather? For today? Coming up at
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: forty nine minutes after the hour, it's our last break
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: of the day and we'll have some closing remarks from
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: the one and only Steve Harvey right after this. You're
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: listening to all right, guys, this is our last break
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: of the day and it is time or some closing
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: remarks from the one and only Steve Harvey. Well, it's
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: been a good day. Let me ask you, guys a
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: question just off the top of your head. What do
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: you all and anybody can answer this question. What do
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: you think is probably the number one calls that gets
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: in the way of people moving forward or what has
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: gotten in the way of you over the years from
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: moving forward? Come? I mean, it happens to all of us,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: myself included. I'm just asking the question to the cruit
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: ye fear of failure, sometimes trying to fix the past, wow,
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: lack of faith. Well, okay, let me address three things.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: This is inture. I'm gonna try to do this quickly.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Let's talk about fixing the past. Let's talk briefly about fear,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: and let's talk about the fear of being successful. Let's
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: start with the fear of being successful. A lot of
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: people have a fear of becoming successful because they're not
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: sure of the requirements that will be placed on them
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: once they become successful. Some people think that they won't
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: be able to handle the regiment of being successful, and
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: that right there is you're not understanding how God works.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: God never puts you someplace, He doesn't prepare you to be.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Do you understand that as you become successful that you're
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: going to be tested, You're going to be challenged, You're
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: going to be faced with all types of situations that
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: will better you, equip you and become make you the
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: experienced person that you need to be to be in
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: the place that you're going to finally wind up in.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: Stop being afraid of success and understand that God is
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: not going to put you in a room that you're
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: not qualified or equipped to be in. That's for starters. Now,
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: let's talk about fixing the past. You're ready. You can't.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: You can't. You get no duovers in life. The problem
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: that people have when they try to fix the passages
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: because they're are surrounded by people who are constantly reminding
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: them of the past and telling them you're not this,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: and you're not that, and you can't do this because
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: you did that and I remember when you did that.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: When you remove those people from your life who are
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: constantly retrying to remind you of your past, you will
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: then lose the need to have to fix it. See,
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: but you have to fix it when there are people
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: in your life and including you, who keep bringing the
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: past to the forefront to put it in your presence.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: That's why the Lord's prayer is simple, give us this
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: day our daily bread. The Bible very rarely talks to
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: you about your past, because it's been forgiven, it's done.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: I don't. I haven't read a whole lot of scriptures
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: to help me with my past. I read a lot
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: of scriptures that talk about now. I read a lot
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: of scriptures that talks about faith, the belief in things
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: that you cannot see, trusting in his word, holding onto
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: his unchanging hand, realizing that all things are possible through him.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: I read a lot of scriptures about that. But nothing
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: is more prevalent in our life today than the Lord's prayer,
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: which clearly says, give us this day our daily bread.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: Because tomorrow you have no control over now. You can
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: have hopes for tomorrow, you can have plans for tomorrow,
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: you can have visions and aspirations for tomorrow. But everything
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: about tomorrow, which I have finally learned, should be tempered
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: with the remark if it's God's will and in God's timing.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: That way it releases me from having to be worried
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: about the timing of an event because it's just because
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: it's been denied. Just because it's been delayed does not
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: mean that it's been denied. I had to learn that.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: So fixing your past can't be done. What's done is done.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: First thing you want to do about fixing the past,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: remove people from your life who are constantly reminding you
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: of your past. And then secondly, forgive yourself, just as
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: God has done. I used to do it to myself
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: all the time. Even at my daughter's wedding, I made
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: the statement, I said, I've spent all of my adult
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: life trying to fix the mistakes I made as a
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: young man. You know what Bishop Jakes told me, who
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: was at my daughter's when he said, you're too hard
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: on yourself. He said, you're too hard on yourself. You
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: need to stop doing that to yourself, Steve, And he
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: was right because I keep trying to do that and
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: I had to stop at last, but not least, Let's
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: just talk about fear itself. The majority of us have
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: a fear of success and a fear of failure because
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: we don't have a strong enough relationship with God. I'm
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: telling you, man, God erases fear. God put you in
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: a comfort zone. I mean, if you think about it
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: just for a second, Everybody, everything that you've ever gone through,
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: and I've said this, I can't tell you how many
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: times on the show, everything you've gone through, every challenge,
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: you've ever had every setback, every hardship, You've managed somehow
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: to this point to get past all of them. Your
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: track record for surviving rough days and challenges is one.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: Why would God not continue to do that for you?
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: Lose your fear because God is near. Lose your fear
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: because God is near. Those are the three things I
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: wanted to address. Thank you for giving me those closing remarks,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: I have a great day. Talk to you, ally, love
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: to hear from you. For all Steve Harvey contests, no
