- 1:59Speaker 1: your baby now, I share will Good morning everybody. You
- 2:05Speaker 1: I listened to the voice, come on dig me now.
- 2:08Speaker 1: One and only. Steve Harvey got a radio show. Yeah, man,
- 2:12Speaker 1: Steve Harvey got a radio show. Trying to do something
- 2:15Speaker 1: with it too, man. Uh you know, um, I was
- 2:19Speaker 1: having a conversation the other day with a young person
- 2:23Speaker 1: and they were telling me how they felt that their
- 2:26Speaker 1: life was stuck, that their life was in a rut,
- 2:30Speaker 1: that they didn't know what to do next. And one
- 2:35Speaker 1: of the things that was causing them this sadness or
- 2:39Speaker 1: this depression. I mean, they really really into something right now.
- 2:43Speaker 1: One of the things that was causing it was the
- 2:46Speaker 1: fact that they had made a list of things they
- 2:51Speaker 1: wanted to accomplish by a certain age, and that age
- 2:57Speaker 1: they just had a birthday recently, and they were looking
- 3:02Speaker 1: at the list and the list hadn't been fulfilled. And
- 3:08Speaker 1: because that list hadn't been fulfilled, they were really really
- 3:14Speaker 1: sad about it, you know. Um one of the things
- 3:18Speaker 1: that they had on the list was marriage, kids, and
- 3:24Speaker 1: I don't know everything else that was on the list,
- 3:27Speaker 1: but that was one of them. And because she had
- 3:30Speaker 1: reached a certain age and she wasn't married, and she
- 3:32Speaker 1: didn't have the kids, and she had just celebrated her birthday,
- 3:37Speaker 1: she's gone into this uh mode of sadness, whereas really
- 3:42Speaker 1: really taking a toll on her and us. As I
- 3:47Speaker 1: was learning about her situation, I was thinking about it,
- 3:53Speaker 1: and I just wanted to share this with you all
- 3:55Speaker 1: this morning that one of the things about making a
- 3:59Speaker 1: list about what you want, which I happen to be
- 4:01Speaker 1: a proponent of, I do it myself. I have people
- 4:05Speaker 1: have dream boards, I have a gold sheet I have.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I've been doing it for years. It's a It's a
- 4:11Speaker 1: wonderful way to set goals and to keep it in
- 4:14Speaker 1: front of you as a constant reminder. And I always
- 4:17Speaker 1: go over this goal list every day, you know. I
- 4:20Speaker 1: mean I go of it all the time, every day.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Sometimes I miss a day here and there, but mostly
- 4:26Speaker 1: every day I pulled my gold sheet out and I
- 4:28Speaker 1: look at it, I read it. So I was going
- 4:30Speaker 1: to these rallies and I was learning about, you know,
- 4:34Speaker 1: people who were successful in how they kept their mind
- 4:36Speaker 1: writing positive. And one of the things I learned was
- 4:38Speaker 1: to make these dream boards, these lists, these gold sheets.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And in making a gold sheet, and you make the
- 4:47Speaker 1: sheet according to what you want, think about one thing
- 4:51Speaker 1: when you made your gold sheet, about what you want it?
- 4:55Speaker 1: Does your goal sheet have on it what God wants
- 4:58Speaker 1: from you? Did you ask in any of this what
- 5:02Speaker 1: was His will in your life? You know? Look, man,
- 5:06Speaker 1: what we want oftentimes is not what He wants for us.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And you know, if you're fighting against what you were
- 5:14Speaker 1: created for, if you're fighting against his will, I mean,
- 5:19Speaker 1: what do you want to happen? See? Don't be so
- 5:22Speaker 1: hard on yourself when you look at your goal sheet
- 5:25Speaker 1: and you look at what you've not become what you
- 5:28Speaker 1: thought was a great idea. Don't be so hard on
- 5:30Speaker 1: yourself because you just made a minded mistake. As do
- 5:33Speaker 1: most people, we oftentimes make our goals and set our
- 5:37Speaker 1: goals up without ever considering what is it that God
- 5:40Speaker 1: wants from us. We keep talking about what we want
- 5:43Speaker 1: without ever finding out and knowing what it is God
- 5:46Speaker 1: wants for us. Well, guess what, man, Maybe you're fighting
- 5:49Speaker 1: against the grain. Maybe you're just a salmon heading upstream.
- 5:53Speaker 1: That's a tough fight upstream. Not all salmons get up
- 5:56Speaker 1: to the spawning grounds, you know. Some of them don't
- 5:58Speaker 1: make it upstream, you know. But all of them, nearly
- 6:02Speaker 1: all of them, except the ones that's killed by prey.
- 6:04Speaker 1: When they're spawned, they go out to the ocean. That's
- 6:06Speaker 1: cool because you're going because you're going with the grain.
- 6:09Speaker 1: You're going downstream. You're going with the flow. That's but
- 6:13Speaker 1: when it's time to go against the grain, it's tough.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And a lot of us have just been going against
- 6:18Speaker 1: the grain for all of these years. But you know what, listen, man,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I did it. I know a lot of people who
- 6:24Speaker 1: did it. Very few people get it right from the
- 6:28Speaker 1: very beginning. Man, you got to stumble through life sometimes
- 6:32Speaker 1: sometimes you got to fall through life. You gotta make
- 6:34Speaker 1: a lot of mistakes, man, But these mistakes are not failures.
- 6:38Speaker 1: You know, when you fail at something, don't look at
- 6:40Speaker 1: it as a failure. Don't look at yourself as a failure.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Because you're thirty and you and your goals ain't reach
- 6:45Speaker 1: that you had on your list. That was your list.
- 6:48Speaker 1: What about the things that's going right. Stop looking at
- 6:52Speaker 1: what you're not, take some time out and thank God
- 6:55Speaker 1: for what you are. How about the fact that you
- 6:57Speaker 1: keep waking up to be thirty? You know you get
- 6:59Speaker 1: depressed about these birthdays. You really want to throw yourself
- 7:02Speaker 1: in some depression. Miss a birthday, You really got a problem.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Now look at where you are. You keep reaching birthdays.
- 7:10Speaker 1: That's a glorious blessing. You keep waking up. You got
- 7:13Speaker 1: your health, You've accomplished something. Something on your list is done.
- 7:17Speaker 1: People spend too much time on the negative side, and
- 7:20Speaker 1: you're just throwing yourself into depression. So what, you wanted
- 7:23Speaker 1: to be married by a certain age and you wanted
- 7:25Speaker 1: to have kids, Okay, cool, You could have done all
- 7:28Speaker 1: that with the wrong person. There's a blessing in not
- 7:31Speaker 1: being married to the wrong person. There's a blessing in
- 7:34Speaker 1: not having kids and nobody to help you raise it.
- 7:36Speaker 1: There's a blessing in that man talking to somebody who
- 7:39Speaker 1: can tell it to you. You can marry the wrong
- 7:41Speaker 1: person if you want to. I'm telling you you're gonna
- 7:44Speaker 1: be up in some mess you can't count on. So
- 7:47Speaker 1: instead of being angry because you're not married, you don't
- 7:50Speaker 1: have kids, why don't you thank God demand Maybe he
- 7:53Speaker 1: spared you from some misery here. Maybe you could have
- 7:55Speaker 1: married the wrong person. Maybe you have kids and you're
- 7:57Speaker 1: not really ready to be a mother or a father.
- 8:00Speaker 1: You gotta look at the upside, man, Quit looking at
- 8:02Speaker 1: what you don't have. Take some time to thank God
- 8:05Speaker 1: for what you do have. When you do that, you
- 8:08Speaker 1: make more room for blessings to flow into your life.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I'm not saying how God thinks, because I really don't know,
- 8:14Speaker 1: but I'm telling you if a person comes to me
- 8:18Speaker 1: and I always give a person something and they never
- 8:21Speaker 1: appear grateful, or they never say thank you, please, no,
- 8:24Speaker 1: you can quit coming to me now. I don't know
- 8:28Speaker 1: that's how God works, because I've gone back to him
- 8:31Speaker 1: several times without being grateful of thanking him, and he's
- 8:34Speaker 1: feeling my basket up again. So I really think he's
- 8:38Speaker 1: not like that. But I can't make the call for sure.
- 8:41Speaker 1: But I think at one point in time, me, just
- 8:45Speaker 1: just me talking, i'd be a little ticked off at
- 8:47Speaker 1: somebody who was always taken, taking, taking, and never showing
- 8:51Speaker 1: any gratitude. At one point in time, I would just
- 8:54Speaker 1: stop the flow of the take you know, you just
- 8:57Speaker 1: you can't take no more from me. That's what I would. Now.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I'm not calling it like that because I ain't him,
- 9:03Speaker 1: but I know he's merciful, He's full of goodness and
- 9:06Speaker 1: here and there, and he'll forgive you. And thank God
- 9:09Speaker 1: he does that because he's shown enough done it for me.
- 9:12Speaker 1: But wow, man, take some time out today and be
- 9:14Speaker 1: grateful for what you have. Stop complaining about where you're not,
- 9:17Speaker 1: and think about where you are, and then take it
- 9:20Speaker 1: from there. And then next time you make a list,
- 9:23Speaker 1: make sure on that list you have God's will. What
- 9:26Speaker 1: does he want for you? God create give everybody a
- 9:29Speaker 1: gift and a talent. Some of us never apply gifts
- 9:32Speaker 1: and talents. We head off in another direction. Then you
- 9:35Speaker 1: wonder why your life ain't where its supposed to be.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Have you ever thought about what God gifted you to do?
- 9:40Speaker 1: Have you ever thought about doing that? And stip skip
- 9:42Speaker 1: what you want. I wanted to play in the NBA,
- 9:44Speaker 1: but I gotta tell you something. At dribbling and shooting
- 9:47Speaker 1: and running all at one time, throwing me off a
- 9:51Speaker 1: little bit you know. It's so I'm doing what I do.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It's pretty cool. You can look at it that way. Okay,
- 9:57Speaker 1: you're listening show, ladies and gentlemen, it's about to go down.
- 10:06Speaker 1: If I were you, this is what I would do.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Call your mama, Neil. Tell him. Steve Harvey got a
- 10:14Speaker 1: radio show and his own rat now like right now,

- 11:08Speaker 1: She hasn't this man she's never met and the sheer food.
- 11:13Speaker 1: She's falling in love with him and has never met him,
- 11:17Speaker 1: but the sound of his voice makes her toes curl.
- 11:22Speaker 1: She would talk about Junior come on, and I said,

- 11:38Speaker 1: right now. Okay, she's listening to junior right now. What
- 11:41Speaker 1: do you have to say, Junior? You know what to
- 11:42Speaker 1: really do it for her? If you sing some Jodice, man,
- 11:50Speaker 1: she ain't't be able to hand that because if I
- 11:52Speaker 1: just talk her toes curling, come on, take my mind,
- 12:04Speaker 1: my house and my car for you. You can't have
- 12:13Speaker 1: it all, hey, because making love every time we do
- 12:25Speaker 1: curl is worse than because I'm in attic for you.
- 12:32Speaker 1: This drives me crazy. I can't leave you alone. You've
- 12:41Speaker 1: got me fee? Can me fee for? You can't leave

- 16:47Speaker 1: gave the baby meat? H I gave the baby to
- 16:52Speaker 1: meet who you think gave the baby meat? Look how
- 16:56Speaker 1: happy the baby looks. Going over there and taking me
- 17:01Speaker 1: from the baby watching baby started crying. Gave my grandson
- 17:05Speaker 1: to slam jail. My daughter had a heart attack. Was crime.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Came right back in that office. I gave him another one.
- 17:15Speaker 1: As I told you, I was a vegan. But you

- 18:52Speaker 1: what it. Yeah, the one that always killed me though.
- 18:55Speaker 1: But they wanted the greens. But oh, you put meat

- 19:11Speaker 1: I just asked a vegan, just one simple question. What
- 19:14Speaker 1: don't you miss fool? Don't you miss bed? You don't
- 19:21Speaker 1: miss that? I mean, I'm not mad at their lifestyle,
- 19:25Speaker 1: you know, but mess with me? But tell yeah, don't tell? Yeah,

- 21:16Speaker 1: He can run? Running a cat. Hello, Hello, I'm trying
- 21:29Speaker 1: to reach us to trade. Hey, how you doing? This
- 21:32Speaker 1: is uh? This is brother Glenn from the church. Hey,
- 21:35Speaker 1: brother Glenn, how are you doing? I'm good, I'm good,
- 21:37Speaker 1: I'm real good. Did you enjoy service morning? Oh? I
- 21:41Speaker 1: enjoyed it? Pasta who pastor brought it down? Oh my god?
- 21:48Speaker 1: That was a word for me, right right? Right, right,
- 21:51Speaker 1: So what do our old the pleasure that's called I
- 21:54Speaker 1: wanted to give you some information that the that the
- 21:57Speaker 1: church has come up with, and we wanted to let
- 22:00Speaker 1: you know what was going on before next Sunday. I
- 22:02Speaker 1: didn't interrupt you that. Oh no, no, I actually I
- 22:06Speaker 1: may sound a little a little off a little bit.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I'm trying to get getting ready for my little babies,
- 22:10Speaker 1: my little darlins, and I'm trying to your voice sounds
- 22:12Speaker 1: so familiar to me. It just sounds so familiar, trying
- 22:16Speaker 1: to play place that voice. Okay, well, you've seen me
- 22:18Speaker 1: at the church quite a few times. I think I
- 22:20Speaker 1: have I'm just trying to place it. I can't place
- 22:22Speaker 1: it right now. But look at what Nevertheless, I just
- 22:25Speaker 1: wanted here's here's what's going on U. Now you are
- 22:27Speaker 1: aware of that for the last the last six Sundays,
- 22:30Speaker 1: you've been actually coming in the service late. Have you
- 22:33Speaker 1: realized that, Yes, I know, I'm sorry about that, but
- 22:38Speaker 1: uh you know, yes, I have. I have my reasons.
- 22:40Speaker 1: So okay, okay, Well here's what's going on. The officials
- 22:43Speaker 1: at the church have gotten together and this is what
- 22:46Speaker 1: they've decided on, is that anybody who is late starting
- 22:50Speaker 1: next Sunday, there would be a fifteen dollar charge for
- 22:53Speaker 1: that for coming in and disrupting services. Fastest tide of
- 22:58Speaker 1: service being disrupted, people walking in late that that could
- 23:02Speaker 1: not come at a worse time. I don't have fifteen
- 23:06Speaker 1: dollars to give. I don't I don't have it. Oh um, look,
- 23:12Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm sorry that we late. I am We
- 23:16Speaker 1: are doing our best. I have three kids. I have
- 23:19Speaker 1: three young kids, two seven and nine, and they are
- 23:23Speaker 1: a handful, and and and we do the best that
- 23:26Speaker 1: we can to get the church on time and and
- 23:29Speaker 1: to tell your truth. When we get there. It's during
- 23:32Speaker 1: praise and worship, I mean pass. They ain't even preaching yet,
- 23:35Speaker 1: so I know it's not past, it's not up yet.
- 23:38Speaker 1: But he's he's stating that people coming in. It just
- 23:41Speaker 1: seems very disrupted to the service that's going on. That's
- 23:44Speaker 1: so Nevertheless, like I said, this is a warning call,
- 23:46Speaker 1: you know, to let you know that if you are
- 23:48Speaker 1: late on next Sunday, then they will be charging you
- 23:51Speaker 1: fifteen dollars a late charge. And actually you won't be
- 23:55Speaker 1: able to even come in until you are until you
- 23:58Speaker 1: pay the fiftien dollars. I can't even get in church
- 24:01Speaker 1: with we Look, okay, look I don't I don't owe nothing.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I don't owe you no explanation. But I need to
- 24:08Speaker 1: tell you something. We are me and my kids for
- 24:11Speaker 1: the last few sundays that we've been late. It's because
- 24:14Speaker 1: my car broke down. We are owned the bus man
- 24:18Speaker 1: public transportation. Okay, I mean, and I understand, I understand.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I civiltize with everything that you're going through. But why
- 24:24Speaker 1: are you called if you understand? How are you calling
- 24:26Speaker 1: me about fifteen dollars? If you understand what I'm going through?
- 24:28Speaker 1: Well I didn't. I first party didn't know what you
- 24:30Speaker 1: were going Why are you raising your voice at Why
- 24:33Speaker 1: are you raising did you just at me? You know what?
- 24:36Speaker 1: You know what I think? You're raising your voice at me?
- 24:38Speaker 1: How dare you call me about this? About a feat?
- 24:42Speaker 1: And I'm there at church? I got my key in deaths.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Trying to raise them up is where they should go,
- 24:47Speaker 1: just like the Bible say. And you know why I
- 24:50Speaker 1: gotta do this and why I'm the late? Why why
- 24:53Speaker 1: we got to chesch the bus? Do you understand why
- 24:55Speaker 1: that is? Brother Glenn, No, I do not. That is
- 24:58Speaker 1: because they do their dad they and they, Yes, Tracy,
- 25:02Speaker 1: you got to calm down a little bit now. Oh
- 25:04Speaker 1: Jesus help me, Jesus, help me, Jesus. Okay, listen us.
- 25:08Speaker 1: All I can do is tell you this. I hope
- 25:10Speaker 1: you can make it. Maybe you can catch an earlier bus,
- 25:13Speaker 1: you know what I mean, and get there a little earlier.
- 25:16Speaker 1: But but I'm just stating the fact that as of
- 25:18Speaker 1: next Sunday, if you come in late, it's fifteen dollars
- 25:21Speaker 1: late fee, and that's what you'll pay in order to
- 25:23Speaker 1: get in the service. You know what, Well, maybe next
- 25:25Speaker 1: Sunday I just won't be there. How about that? You
- 25:29Speaker 1: know I'm already working six days a week. The only
- 25:33Speaker 1: day I have off is Sunday. I've been baking, breaking
- 25:35Speaker 1: my back. Do you know? I worked two jobs? I
- 25:37Speaker 1: work two jobs, and they always trying to take money
- 25:39Speaker 1: out of my check, always trying to pull me here
- 25:42Speaker 1: and there, and I'm always tired. I get two hours
- 25:44Speaker 1: asleep and then now the church wants to dump another
- 25:47Speaker 1: fifteen dollars charging me for being at church. But that's
- 25:50Speaker 1: what I'm supposed to do. But you're coming in late though,
- 25:53Speaker 1: Sause to Tracy, you know what, you know what late
- 25:57Speaker 1: ain't bad. Okay, I might be, but I ain't denied,
- 26:01Speaker 1: and I'm getting there the best way that I know how.
- 26:03Speaker 1: We're on the bus. I have to put my kids
- 26:05Speaker 1: on the school bus. And not only have to put
- 26:07Speaker 1: them on the school buson I have to get on
- 26:08Speaker 1: the bus to myself to work because I don't have
- 26:11Speaker 1: a car. Because they daddy's ain't doing nothing nothing for them.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Do you understand what I'm saying to you? I need
- 26:17Speaker 1: to understand. Oh, Daddy number one, guess what he daddy
- 26:22Speaker 1: for two? He and jail been there by five years
- 26:25Speaker 1: he ain't. And Daddy number three he decided to go
- 26:29Speaker 1: ahead and walk out, ain't. I ain't heard from that
- 26:33Speaker 1: in about seven months now. He know we're struggling. He
- 26:36Speaker 1: had the nerve to take my wallet too. You don't.
- 26:38Speaker 1: You don't even understand what I'm going through. You don't
- 26:40Speaker 1: even understand that I'm trying to make a better life
- 26:42Speaker 1: for me and my children. There is one more thing,
- 26:44Speaker 1: sis to Tracy, that the church wants you to know
- 26:46Speaker 1: before next Sunday. Then you definitely need to know. But
- 26:49Speaker 1: what one more thing does the church want me to know?
- 26:51Speaker 1: It's about sixteen dollars the church just wants you to
- 26:53Speaker 1: know that this is nephew Tommy from the Steve Harvey
- 26:56Speaker 1: morn Is Jail. You're sister Patrese got me to prank
- 26:59Speaker 1: phone call you. I am gonna what you know, I
- 27:08Speaker 1: ain't got time for that. No, I ain't got time
- 27:11Speaker 1: for that. All right, Oh, I got something for her.
- 27:16Speaker 1: How about that to me? She said? She say, my
- 27:20Speaker 1: sister carbro down. She says, she got these kids. She
- 27:24Speaker 1: over there struggling and struggling, and she's trying to make it,
- 27:27Speaker 1: but you gotta give a hard time. She just wanted,
- 27:29Speaker 1: she wanted, she wanted you to put us. She wanted
- 27:31Speaker 1: to put a smile on your face. What she well,
- 27:35Speaker 1: you want being settled out, I'm gonna have to say
- 27:37Speaker 1: she did. Okay, all right, Wow, now that I know
- 27:42Speaker 1: you y'all were joking and now I know this is
- 27:44Speaker 1: nephew Tommy. Hey, I gotta ask you something, baby, what's
- 27:49Speaker 1: the baddest and I mean the baddest radio show in
- 27:52Speaker 1: the land, That Steve Harvid Morning Show. Baby? All right,
- 27:59Speaker 1: we'll be back with more of the Steve Harvey Morning
- 28:01Speaker 1: Show right after you're listening to the old school relationship
- 28:10Speaker 1: advice means well most of the time, but some of
- 28:14Speaker 1: it is out of touch and should become a thing
- 28:16Speaker 1: of the past. Some of these rules or tips need
- 28:19Speaker 1: to be redefined and clarified for the time we live
- 28:22Speaker 1: in now. This is according to psychologist doctor Joshua Clapal
- 28:27Speaker 1: for example, clap clap for example, Steve the old cliche
- 28:34Speaker 1: and this is biblical. Don't go to bed angry. Uh.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Doctor clapp Howe says, we've heard this classic, but it's unrealistic,
- 28:43Speaker 1: and sometimes going to bed mad and sleeping on it
- 28:47Speaker 1: is better. What do you say, do you see? Well?
- 28:50Speaker 1: I don't know what were you with that? I wish
- 28:52Speaker 1: we could go to bed and not be mad. I
- 28:54Speaker 1: really do, right, I don't Nobody won't go to bed mad.
- 28:59Speaker 1: You know you got to sleep back to each other.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Somebody rolled over and touch you? You jumping? You don't
- 29:06Speaker 1: damn foot off. Nobody wants that. I think it's better
- 29:10Speaker 1: to do that. Now. Is it realistic to expect not
- 29:13Speaker 1: to ever go to bed? Man? Now? I don't think
- 29:15Speaker 1: it is. But that show ain'tcluded to go to bed man.
- 29:20Speaker 1: We're gonna be up all night or you wake up mad.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Let me tell you something that you know. I hate
- 29:27Speaker 1: that if you let a woman go to bed, man
- 29:30Speaker 1: she wake up, she gonna be just as mad or
- 29:34Speaker 1: mad earth because she'd have thought about some most stuff. Yeah, now, dude,
- 29:39Speaker 1: wake up and go, hey, baby, how you doing? How
- 29:41Speaker 1: the hell you think? How was our last night? When
- 29:44Speaker 1: you shut your eyes exactly so exact? No, I think
- 29:48Speaker 1: he's wrong about it's not healthy. All right, Doctor clip
- 29:52Speaker 1: House says you can change them. He says it's a
- 29:56Speaker 1: romantic idea, the old cliche, you can change them. But
- 30:00Speaker 1: he points out, it's not your responsibility to change anyone. Right.
- 30:04Speaker 1: I agree with him. It's not your job to change anyone,
- 30:09Speaker 1: nor don't nor do you have the ability, right, that's
- 30:12Speaker 1: something that women have. I mean, we may as well
- 30:14Speaker 1: admit that. We're always trying for change. And I think
- 30:17Speaker 1: it's the nurturer in us. We always Yeah, we all
- 30:20Speaker 1: change him. Yeah, I change. I know he's like that
- 30:23Speaker 1: right now. But once he gave me six months, Yeah, yeah,
- 30:26Speaker 1: let me work on him. Yeah, don't. I got this.
- 30:30Speaker 1: You're gonna have to work it every day, though, change
- 30:34Speaker 1: you do it everything. Yeah, but that all right, here's
- 30:38Speaker 1: another one. Some people never change. That's the cliche, the
- 30:42Speaker 1: old school cliche. Doctor Clip Howe says, on the flip side,
- 30:46Speaker 1: the suggestion that someone is incapable of changing is wrong,
- 30:50Speaker 1: and it ignores the fact that we all have control
- 30:53Speaker 1: over our choices. So I absolutely agree with that. That's one.
- 31:00Speaker 1: He's only said one thing I didn't agree with, and
- 31:02Speaker 1: that was the first one. Yeah, I agree with that.
- 31:04Speaker 1: You don't go to bed will change? Yeah, people change
- 31:07Speaker 1: all right all the time. Here's another one, old school
- 31:10Speaker 1: love will keep you together. Love will keep you together.
- 31:14Speaker 1: He says. This works in an old romantic movie, but
- 31:18Speaker 1: in real life it takes a lot more than love
- 31:22Speaker 1: to make it work. WHOA what love got to do? Yeah,
- 31:29Speaker 1: got to do with it? What love? But a second
- 31:35Speaker 1: handed move? What right? Take it up? Gotta do it?
- 31:41Speaker 1: Ain't got nothing to do with it, man. Yeah, you
- 31:45Speaker 1: gotta honor that commitment. You got to compromise, understanding, take
- 31:51Speaker 1: the blame. Not be right all the time. Why eat? Yeah,
- 32:00Speaker 1: you on it. It never worked for me never? All right,
- 32:04Speaker 1: here's Junior. No, it's that love thing. I told her
- 32:07Speaker 1: I love her. But my replacement with at the dog
- 32:11Speaker 1: when you I'm just like, who is this? Oh this Chris?
- 32:14Speaker 1: We're going to dinner? You ain't Chris, I love you though,
- 32:16Speaker 1: to the left, to the left through you've been hard. Yeah,
- 32:23Speaker 1: it's almost like what but you've grown up now you're
- 32:27Speaker 1: for now. Yeah you're good now. Yeah that was back. Yeah,
- 32:30Speaker 1: I ain't hand that. We've all been through some things
- 32:34Speaker 1: up to the game. Yeah, all right, old school love
- 32:37Speaker 1: will I mean, know your role in the relationship. That's
- 32:40Speaker 1: old school. Doctor clip How says, forget this old gender
- 32:44Speaker 1: stereotype and remember there's not a required way for you
- 32:48Speaker 1: to act. Your role in a relationship shouldn't always be
- 32:53Speaker 1: the same. It's constantly shifting. I missed it. Stand Okay,
- 32:59Speaker 1: you're role. Know your role in the relationship. That's old
- 33:02Speaker 1: school thinking. Okay, Doctor Clapow says, forget this old gender
- 33:07Speaker 1: stereotype and remember there is not a required way for
- 33:11Speaker 1: you to act. That's new school thinking. He says, your
- 33:15Speaker 1: role in a relationship isn't going to be the same
- 33:17Speaker 1: all the time. It's constantly changing. And that's a good thing,
- 33:21Speaker 1: that's what he's saying. He says, it'll shift organically. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 1: and that's a good thing. You think your role should
- 33:31Speaker 1: stay the same in a relationship, Well, I mean I
- 33:33Speaker 1: think I think your roles have to be defined so
- 33:39Speaker 1: that everybody has an understanding of positioning. And then I
- 33:44Speaker 1: think there has to be some type of volved give
- 33:48Speaker 1: and take or sometimes the other person can do that.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I'm not saying like roles like you do all the
- 33:54Speaker 1: cleaning eye. I'm not talking about that. Yeah, but if
- 33:57Speaker 1: you're good with money, yeah, anything, yeah, I mean, you know,
- 34:01Speaker 1: and if you either side, if you roll playing, then
- 34:05Speaker 1: your roles change. Like you know, I might be Batman
- 34:08Speaker 1: one night, you know what I'm saying, but then next
- 34:11Speaker 1: night I might be in Credible Hook. You know what
- 34:12Speaker 1: I'm saying. Your roles do change. I have to know
- 34:15Speaker 1: that organically, right, organically and realistically, you're neither one. All right,
- 34:25Speaker 1: here's old school. You should stay with them for better
- 34:28Speaker 1: or for worse, he says. He says. We all want
- 34:33Speaker 1: to think our partner will stick around no matter what.
- 34:35Speaker 1: But if a relationship is unhealthy, you don't. You don't
- 34:39Speaker 1: need to stick it out o death do all? Right?
- 34:44Speaker 1: More of this crazy ignorant show. Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to Steve Show. COVID nineteen
- 34:54Speaker 1: is still very real? Um j Anthony Brown, So Jay
- 34:59Speaker 1: you've been in the house. I was just creating songs.
- 35:01Speaker 1: You've been You've been creating. You've been in creative most
- 35:04Speaker 1: and very creative this time doing the stuff along with
- 35:08Speaker 1: some other stuff I'm doing that makes me feel as
- 35:10Speaker 1: if I have company. But that's a whole deal. Nobody.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Can you get to this? I can't, Damn times I
- 35:18Speaker 1: heard that in another Yes I have. I have murdered
- 35:25Speaker 1: another song. As they say on that show, like to
- 35:30Speaker 1: hit here, you go check it out. Excuse me, miss,
- 35:38Speaker 1: you can't do that here. If you keep it up,
- 35:41Speaker 1: I'll be bossed to show you the exit. I'm not kidding.
- 36:00Speaker 1: There's a body at a night you know everybody's going.
- 36:04Speaker 1: If you feeling li se hain't your batter stay home
- 36:08Speaker 1: and in the low when you need to get our groom.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Ain't no problem with you fall out these rooms because
- 36:16Speaker 1: if your season it's not right, got a fever? You
- 36:22Speaker 1: need to take a hike. If your reason, we might like,
- 36:27Speaker 1: what's the reason why you calling all night? No brothering bader,
- 36:34Speaker 1: no calling on a dance dog, no calling banner, no
- 36:41Speaker 1: coughing on a dance dog. Get out of here the
- 36:57Speaker 1: door by lee, please leave, No father in danda. No
- 37:04Speaker 1: coughing on a dance dog. No coughing dada, No coughing
- 37:12Speaker 1: on the dance No, no father in danda, No clown
- 37:20Speaker 1: on the dance dog. No coffin baby, stupid, How you
- 37:29Speaker 1: think of that? No coughing baby, how you thinking that?
- 37:34Speaker 1: No coping, babying on the dance floor. But you cof beat, Yeah,
- 37:43Speaker 1: don't be a lot of that. Don't stop you. Once
- 37:46Speaker 1: you stopped coughing. We have a whole different attitude towards
- 37:49Speaker 1: a cough now, Oh yeah, yeah for sure. Yeah you
- 37:53Speaker 1: used to let a cough go, you know, yeah, right right, yeah,
- 37:56Speaker 1: you got a little something something going on the No,
- 37:58Speaker 1: every mask is looking at you. Great job. Jam coming
- 38:10Speaker 1: up in thirty four minutes after the hour, we'll have
- 38:12Speaker 1: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Right after this.
- 38:15Speaker 1: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Jay, it's
- 38:20Speaker 1: time for comedy Roulette. Guys, Jay, please set it up
- 38:23Speaker 1: for us. I can't do this without explaining it because
- 38:26Speaker 1: we have new listeners that are not familiar with how
- 38:29Speaker 1: this game go. I mean, new people tuning in right
- 38:33Speaker 1: now don't know what we're doing. So what I'm gonna
- 38:35Speaker 1: do now is explain how it work. Take for a subject,
- 38:38Speaker 1: put it on the wheel, spund the wheel, webstop, we'll
- 38:41Speaker 1: do it. And the reason we can do this because
- 38:43Speaker 1: Junior is a comedian, I'm a comedian, Tim's a comedian,
- 38:46Speaker 1: and Steve's the king comedians watching? Does that go? See
- 38:50Speaker 1: Junior's comedian, I mean Time's comedian and Steve is a
- 38:53Speaker 1: king comedian. All right, before he gets really made? Are
- 38:59Speaker 1: the subject? It's okay. Number one things people say if
- 39:03Speaker 1: they've been in jail a long time. Number two, Yeah,
- 39:07Speaker 1: that is a good one. Number two lies men tell
- 39:09Speaker 1: when they're caught looking at another woman. Oh I want it. Oh.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Number three, excuse this, men say when they're not getting
- 39:18Speaker 1: a lot of sex. Man's that's another, they're good. Number
- 39:23Speaker 1: four things people say when they don't have cable. Wow,
- 39:28Speaker 1: any cable? Yeah that's the one I want. Oh it stopped.
- 39:41Speaker 1: All this is a good one. Number two lies men
- 39:43Speaker 1: tell when they're caught looking at another woman. Let go,
- 39:49Speaker 1: let me start it off. Here you go here girl,
- 39:51Speaker 1: I wasn't looking at her. I was gonna get you
- 39:53Speaker 1: a pair of pants just like that, And I just
- 39:55Speaker 1: wanted to make sup those out. The one that's all.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Yeah's men say he's been safe when they called looking
- 40:09Speaker 1: at another woman, baby, looking at her? Okay? Who need
- 40:14Speaker 1: all the abs show? Okay he shot? Why on abs? Right?
- 40:22Speaker 1: Need all her ass showing? Why? Come on? Yeah? The
- 40:30Speaker 1: only reason why I'm looking at her because you know
- 40:31Speaker 1: my cousin Rolanda that had that just like her. Cousin
- 40:37Speaker 1: Rolanda looked just like her. That's why I'm staying at hustle.
- 40:42Speaker 1: I thought it was roland All right, come, let's see maybe.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Why are you looking at her h ugly? I'm looking
- 40:54Speaker 1: at her hugging? Don't you ever divorced this man? Yes? Yes,
- 41:02Speaker 1: things men say when the cup looking at another woman,
- 41:08Speaker 1: I gotta crook in my neck and every nine and
- 41:10Speaker 1: it just jerked from left to right. So that's all.
- 41:13Speaker 1: That is nothing, it's nothing, right, last men tell when
- 41:23Speaker 1: looking at another woman, babe, let me tell you something
- 41:26Speaker 1: I was looking over. I did. I will, but I
- 41:28Speaker 1: don't like her braids hanging off her ass like that.
- 41:34Speaker 1: I don't like ass like that. I don't see the purpose.
- 41:43Speaker 1: All right, baby, listen, I'm just so glad, I really am.
- 41:47Speaker 1: That's your butt is not that big. I'm just I'm
- 41:50Speaker 1: just you know, I mean, that's just ridiculous, baby. You
- 41:53Speaker 1: know what, Baby, just look at it. That's just ridiculous,
- 41:56Speaker 1: ain't it. They have a butt that big. That's just
- 41:59Speaker 1: too much. Okay, So you my wife and asked me,
- 42:05Speaker 1: excuse you, why are you looking over there at that
- 42:07Speaker 1: other woman. I'm right here, Jesus, she needs Jesus, Jesus,
- 42:18Speaker 1: you better bring the Lord into she needs what need
- 42:31Speaker 1: hard to hard for me not to holly, hard for
- 42:36Speaker 1: me not to hollow, hard for me not to hollow,
- 42:42Speaker 1: to father, hard for me not to All right, come on, see,
- 42:47Speaker 1: we got to shut this one down. Lies. Men tell
- 42:51Speaker 1: when they're they're caught looking at another woman. You know what,
- 42:53Speaker 1: that is the cutest dog I have ever seen woman
- 42:57Speaker 1: in my wife, that's a dog seeing a dog. All right,
- 43:04Speaker 1: great job as usual, guys. Time to switch gears up. Next,
- 43:07Speaker 1: it is the nephew with the prank phone call coming

- 46:44Speaker 1: And I'm married to head, So what the do you
- 46:47Speaker 1: doing that? You spent twenty thousand dollars on my wife
- 46:50Speaker 1: and then you want to claim that. Have me understand next?
- 46:55Speaker 1: Hey man, I ain't trying to go into all my

- 47:35Speaker 1: That's the only mother resolution we're gonna get. Brother, Ain't

- 47:48Speaker 1: tell you what, brother, I'm texting Meal right now. I've

- 48:44Speaker 1: to God just some somebody of the X fives or
- 48:47Speaker 1: something that I can't even fathom. You better pray to God.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Y'all playing with me? This is a boot okay? Okay?
- 48:56Speaker 1: So can I go on tell you your dog and
- 49:00Speaker 1: then I'm gonna get out your way, man, because I

- 51:27Speaker 1: Subjects Do I choose my man or my friends? Here's
- 51:31Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley. I am a young, healthy, and wise beyond
- 51:34Speaker 1: my years, single woman that is a leader to my peers.
- 51:38Speaker 1: At my young age, I have found the most handsome
- 51:42Speaker 1: and amazing man of my dreams. He is respectful, has
- 51:47Speaker 1: a great job, a beautiful home, and he treats me
- 51:51Speaker 1: like a queen. But here is the problem. Well, it's
- 51:55Speaker 1: not a problem for us, it's more a problem for
- 51:57Speaker 1: our friends and family. I am twenty two years old
- 52:01Speaker 1: and he is forty two years old. Now I know
- 52:05Speaker 1: you are also shocked by our age difference, but I
- 52:09Speaker 1: love him and believe age has nothing to do with it.
- 52:13Speaker 1: When I introduced him to my friends, they all judged
- 52:16Speaker 1: him immediately because of his age. You can tell that
- 52:19Speaker 1: he is a bit older. They said that he's using
- 52:23Speaker 1: me and it won't last because he is just going
- 52:25Speaker 1: through a phase. They didn't even want to get to
- 52:28Speaker 1: know him and experience his great personality. My family is
- 52:33Speaker 1: not happy with me dating him either. We've been together
- 52:36Speaker 1: for a year and he says we're soulmates and he
- 52:39Speaker 1: wants to marry me. I know if I marry him,
- 52:43Speaker 1: I would be choosing him over my friends. I know
- 52:46Speaker 1: my family will love me regardless, but now I am
- 52:49Speaker 1: having doubts about marrying him because I want it all
- 52:53Speaker 1: my friends and my husband. What do you think is
- 52:56Speaker 1: age that important? I need your advice? Well, you know,
- 53:01Speaker 1: I gotta tell you this. First off, it's your life.
- 53:03Speaker 1: You can't get married and you can't live for and
- 53:06Speaker 1: have a relationship for your friends. This is your life
- 53:10Speaker 1: and your relationship. I mean, if they're really your friends,
- 53:13Speaker 1: that they're truly your friends, even though they may not
- 53:16Speaker 1: agree with who you're with. But if they're your friends,
- 53:19Speaker 1: they're going to support you and be there for you
- 53:22Speaker 1: if anything goes wrong or whatever you need, they'll be
- 53:25Speaker 1: there for you if they're your friends. But I definitely
- 53:28Speaker 1: don't want to ignore this enormous elephant in this letter,
- 53:32Speaker 1: and that's that you were twenty two and he is
- 53:34Speaker 1: forty two. I mean, this is a huge age difference.
- 53:39Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I'm not saying a marriage can't work.
- 53:41Speaker 1: I'm sure there are some out there that have with
- 53:44Speaker 1: a twenty year age span, but it's definitely a chance
- 53:48Speaker 1: you're taking. It's a chance it could work. Who knows,
- 53:51Speaker 1: But you have to have things in common. You say,
- 53:54Speaker 1: you guys have been together for a year. You say,
- 53:57Speaker 1: he says your soulmate, and he wants to marry you.
- 54:01Speaker 1: But now you're having doubts because you want your friends
- 54:04Speaker 1: and you want him. I mean, this is why your
- 54:08Speaker 1: your friends are and your family are a little upset.
- 54:11Speaker 1: And they're so judgmental because of the big age difference.
- 54:15Speaker 1: You know, they probably see things that you don't see.
- 54:19Speaker 1: They say he's using you, Is he using you? Or
- 54:21Speaker 1: are you too in love to see that? You know?
- 54:25Speaker 1: I just say, don't be so much worried about whether
- 54:28Speaker 1: your friends are gonna still be around or not, you know,
- 54:32Speaker 1: and having to choose between them and your man. You're
- 54:35Speaker 1: gonna choose your man in this instance. I mean, you
- 54:38Speaker 1: really are going to choose your man because you love him,
- 54:40Speaker 1: and he's older and he'll probably be able to persuade
- 54:43Speaker 1: you to choose him. So you know, keep your friends,
- 54:48Speaker 1: don't get rid of your friends. You gotta keep your
- 54:50Speaker 1: friends because you're going to need them in case anything
- 54:53Speaker 1: goes wrong in this relationship. I'm not saying it is,
- 54:56Speaker 1: but it could steve because of the age difference. Well,
- 55:01Speaker 1: here's my view on this. You say you found the
- 55:05Speaker 1: most handsome and amazing man of my dreams. You say
- 55:09Speaker 1: he's respectful, has a great job, he has a beautiful home,
- 55:14Speaker 1: and you say he treats you like a queen. Now
- 55:17Speaker 1: right there, describing that you found the guy that most
- 55:22Speaker 1: women are looking for. But then you said not nobody else.
- 55:28Speaker 1: You said, here's the problem, But then you try to
- 55:33Speaker 1: preface it by saying, well, it's not a problem for us,
- 55:38Speaker 1: it's more of a problem for our friends and family
- 55:41Speaker 1: women in it. So I didn't hear nothing about problems
- 55:45Speaker 1: with your friends. I just heard in the latter problem
- 55:48Speaker 1: with your friends. Are you saying his friends have problems
- 55:52Speaker 1: with it too, it's more of your friend situation or
- 55:58Speaker 1: is it you all friends? Because you say it's more
- 56:00Speaker 1: of a problem for our friends and family. Now you're
- 56:03Speaker 1: twenty two, he forty two. That's a twenty year gap.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Now then you say, now, I see this is a
- 56:11Speaker 1: lot of you assuming, because then you say, I know
- 56:15Speaker 1: you are also shocked by our age difference. We didn't
- 56:20Speaker 1: say that. Sherley didn't say she was shocked by We're
- 56:24Speaker 1: just reading the letter. But you keep prefacing everything with
- 56:30Speaker 1: it's a problem. Well, it's really not a problem for us.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Then you say you're shocked by age difference. See this
- 56:37Speaker 1: is a problem for you, young lady. But I love
- 56:41Speaker 1: him and I believe age has nothing to do with it.
- 56:44Speaker 1: But then when you introduced him to your friends, they
- 56:49Speaker 1: judge him immediately because of his age. Then you said
- 56:53Speaker 1: you can tell that he's a bit older. Well, now
- 56:57Speaker 1: what does that mean? What did he do in front
- 57:00Speaker 1: of your kid ass friends that just made his ass
- 57:04Speaker 1: look old? Was his hands pulled up right up on
- 57:08Speaker 1: his chains? Come on, I'm just saying what because you
- 57:12Speaker 1: said you can tell he's a bit old, yea god?
- 57:18Speaker 1: Does he have a cigarette behind his ear when he
- 57:23Speaker 1: talking school? Does he have a pack of cools roll
- 57:27Speaker 1: up in the sleeve of his white T shirt? Does
- 57:32Speaker 1: he have on sandals with black socks? Hold that thought, Steve,
- 57:37Speaker 1: Hold that thought. We'll have part two of your response
- 57:41Speaker 1: coming up. Do we have a stern wheel wrap on
- 57:44Speaker 1: his stern wheel on his car? Coming up in twenty
- 57:47Speaker 1: three after the hour, Today's strawberry letter? Do I choose
- 57:50Speaker 1: my man or my friends? More of Stevens coming up
- 57:53Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening show, all right, Steve, here
- 57:59Speaker 1: we go. Let's recapt today's strawberry letter subject, Do I
- 58:02Speaker 1: choose my man or my friends? Let's recap. Well, this
- 58:08Speaker 1: is twenty age twenty year age different, twenty twenty two
- 58:12Speaker 1: year old girl, and it's forty two year old man,
- 58:15Speaker 1: and he's everything she's ever wanted. But here's the problem,
- 58:20Speaker 1: she said, But here's the problem. Then she said, well
- 58:24Speaker 1: it's not a problem for us. Then she said, it's
- 58:28Speaker 1: more of a problem for our friends and family. Now,
- 58:31Speaker 1: in the letter, she never mentioned anything about his friends
- 58:34Speaker 1: and family, just her friends and family. So then she
- 58:37Speaker 1: said she knowed me and surely shocked by your age difference.
- 58:41Speaker 1: But I love him. I believe ain't nothing they've gotten doing.
- 58:43Speaker 1: And when I introduced to my friend, they judged him
- 58:46Speaker 1: immediately because of his age. You can tell he is
- 58:50Speaker 1: a bit old. Come on, what when he walked up
- 58:58Speaker 1: to your friends? What did he have on a can go?
- 59:04Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just trying. You know, when you when
- 59:07Speaker 1: you say you can tell he's a bit older. When
- 59:13Speaker 1: y'all pulled up in the car, was the tent on
- 59:18Speaker 1: his window bubbling? Really, I'm just telling these old school problems. Now,
- 59:27Speaker 1: we just talked about the car right now? Was it
- 59:29Speaker 1: pillars in the back of the window of the car pillar?
- 59:35Speaker 1: I'm just asking twenty nineteen, I'm just asking just what
- 59:41Speaker 1: was it about him that screamed old? Let me ask
- 59:50Speaker 1: you this right here? Did he have on Jordan Jeans
- 59:57Speaker 1: jus Jordas? I thought Jordan had made him Michael Jordan. Yeah,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: I thought he would went French and was calling you Jordead.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: So I don't know what it is. Then your friends
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: told you that he's using me and it won't last
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: because he's going through a FID phase. Well, let's talk
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: about this phase that he could be going through. And
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: why I won't last. Here's the problem I see that
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: you're gonna have. And then let me throw this in.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: They don't even want to get to know him and
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: experience his great personnelity. And you say your family ain't
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: happy with me dating him either. Now y'all been together
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: for a year, and he says with soul mates and
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: he wants to marry me. I know if I marry him,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: I could be choosing him over my friends. And I
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: know my family would love me regardless. But now let
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: me just say this, let me finish this letter. I
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: know my family will love me gods, but now I'm
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: having doubts about marrying him because I want it all
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: my friends and my husband. What do you think is
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: age that important? I need your advice? Well, let me
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: just say this to you. Let's say, y'all, dude, get
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: married and you are happy. In ten years, he gonna
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: be fifty two and you're gonna be thirty two. You're
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: gonna be still scaling up. He's scaling down because he's
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: crossed the sentry mark. So as you get better as
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: a woman, though you're thirty two, you're not even as
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: fine as you're going to be you got some more
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: years where you're gonna get real fine. All his fine
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: days it's about damn Neil Behald? What what all his
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: fine days is about? Damn Neil Behald? Now you think
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: he looks a bit older, Now you'll just wait until
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: his ass when you see already and he don't have
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: no music downloading, that's already. He still got that little
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: vinyl case in the back that you snap and its CDs.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: So let's just start there. Man, Now here's your problem.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: You're gonna reach your point in this relationship where the
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: difference is going to be very noticeable, and it's gonna
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: be things you're gonna want in life and things he's
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: gonna want in life. At thirty two, you'll be wanting
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: to take exciting vacations. At fifty two he can't too.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: I know I'm when I like great vacation, but that's all.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: But when I get on my great vacation, what I
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: want to do. I want to send my great vacation
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: having ass down. Yeah, I don't do events, go out
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: and explore the country, climbing cliffs, and if you have
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: a child, it's a twenty year gall You know, twenty
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: ain't all that bad. But you know when he ten,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: granddaddy gonna be coming up to the school. That's what
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: the other kids is gonna thank you. But it's his
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: damn dad. Now, your friends, it's sad that you have

- 1:05:31Speaker 1: you something. Chicago do have barbecue in it. They got
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: some good barbecue couching boys from down south. Right. That's
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: like if everybody at a barbecue place and know the
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: cook name, that's a good place. Like right, Like what's
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: happening to rate Alabama? Alabama gonna give everybody a little
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: bit of run. They got some joints up in there.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: Just think Kansas City. Everybody just started. We don't just

- 1:07:50Speaker 1: everybody loves a great sandwich, right, but still there's plenty
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: of room for healthy debate and disagreement about what's the
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: best sandwich. Okay, to settle things once and for all,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: once and for all, we're gonna settle this. You gov
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: dot Com ran a pole to find out which ones
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: were most cherished sandwiches in our country. Here are the results.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: All right, Okay, let's not do that. Hold Ty Sherley
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: before you do that. Okay, what's the question we ought

- 1:09:07Speaker 1: about they don't hurt my sandwich. Why y'all going to give?
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: What's your favorite sandwich? All time? B l t h
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: b lt bacon? Let us into me? That was mine, girl,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: we could ride. When I was a kid, it was
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: ham sandwich. But um, does cheeseburger count? That's not the sandwich. Okay,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: that's burger, all right, so I gotta say, yeah, I
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: thought it was because it's cheeseburger all day, cheesburger. What
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: about you, Steve? Come on now, what's my favorite sandwich? Yes?
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: All right, y'a all ready buckle up, come up and

- 1:10:16Speaker 1: which probably is not even real cheese mercy when you
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: sliced it and made a grill cheese sandwich. I don't
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: eat that, no mode, but I could I probably would.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: That's what real cheese sandwich and government greal cheese. That's
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: what Steve. Huh. That is the number one sandwich in America.

- 1:11:00Speaker 1: just like that with something. She's loosening that up. I
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: just like, Sirley, you'd have died at my daddy house.

- 1:12:26Speaker 1: had a barbecue and the majority of your party were vegans.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: What would you do? Even the sides got meat in it.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: So I don't know what you're gonna do. You know
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: what I'm saying. The green bean got some meat in it. Bro,
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: you're gonna be baked bean baking, black rod and cheese
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: might have some meeting. It's gonna be next to me.

- 1:13:08Speaker 1: you leave? Wow? Put it dead way. At least at
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: least you guys didn't panic. According to a new survey,
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: I put meat mycee tea. So we're gonna ask you,
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: what about yeah, bacon ice cues. Yeah. Well, at least
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: forty six percent of people panic when they find out
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: that vegans are coming to the house for the barbecue.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Seventy one percent say they hope their guests with dietary
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: restrictions will be fine with carrots and celery sticks and
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: get by with what is already offered at the barbecue?
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: Oh look, I got roasted corn for you, Bell Pepper's
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: acquinny U Portobello, mushroom steaks. I lay you out. Fifty
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: seven percent of guests with dietary restrictions say they have
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: taken their own food to a barbecue. That's what you
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: need to do. Yeah, yeah, yeah, don't come in here
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: making faces. Yeah, you're listening tow COVID nineteen is still
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: very real. Um j Anthony Brown. So, Jay, you've been
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: in the house just creating songs. You've been You've been creating.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: You've been in creative most and very creative this time
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: doing the stuff along with some other stuff I'm doing

- 1:15:16Speaker 1: There's a body at a night you know everybody's going
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: if your billy literacy. Had your better stay home and
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: inflow when you need to get our group. Ain't no
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: problem with you follow these rooms because if your season
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: it's not right. Got a fever, you need to take
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: a hike. If that reason, we might bike. What's the
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: reason why you're calling all night? No brother Danner, No
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: called in on a dance dog, No calling banna, No
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: calling on a dance dog. Get out of here the door,
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: please leap, please leap, please leave. No fathering danny, no
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: calling on a dancelow, no callding dandy. No coughing on
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: the dance now, No fathering dandy, No calding on a
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: dance though. No coffin baby, How you thinking that? No
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: coffin baby, how you thinking that? No tothing battering on
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: the dance flow? But you cofing on beat? Yeah did that?
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: Don't be a lot of that. Yes, don't stop you
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: once you stop coughing. We have a whole different attitude
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: toward a cough now. Oh yeah, yeah, sure you used
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: to let a cough go, you know. Yeah, all right, right,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: yeah you got a little something something on. Every mask
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: is looking at you. Great job, Jo, All right, thank
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: you guys. Coming up next, it is Steve with today's
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: closing remark right after this you're listening to. All right,
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: here we are last break of the day and of
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: the week. Actually this is Friday. It's been a good
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: day and we're looking forward to a good week, weekend
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: and all of that. All right, Steve, you want to
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: send everyone home to the weekend with some closing Here
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: we go. You know, I was reading in my morning meditation, um,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: this thing that this girl that works with me on
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: Family Future, We'll a nice lady. She's Christian, she praise
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: for everybody, gives a scription. She gave me this daily
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: devotional book to read. I've been reading it every morning. Man,
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: It's really been of great help to me. I think
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: I've shared this with you all several times. One of
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: the things I was reading about was about learning how
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: to master time and not allowing time to master you. Now,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: I got a little stuck on this room right here
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: because I was saying, okay, how do you master time
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: and not let time master you? And this daily devotional
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: it was reminding us that God created us a certain way.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: And I'm going to get to that in a second.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: Because in the Lord's prayer is a clue as to
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: how we should approach each day. In the Lord's Prayer,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: about three or four lines down, it says, give us
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: this day our daily bread. That's a very important line.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: And I've taken the time to really study the Lord's Prayer.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: I've taking the time to really understand twenty third Psalms
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: Isaiah fifty four seventeen Isaiah forty three, one and two.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: I've really been her Becca two and to really been
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: focused on her, really understanding as I meditate every morning.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: And one of the things that it teaches us it's
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: give us this day our daily bread. Well, that's an
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: important line, because what you're asking for every day, it's
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: for God to order your steps just for that day.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: That's not to say that you don't have plans for
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: the future, because you do. But you can't do anything
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: about the future. You can't control it at all. All
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: the circumstances that's gonna be set you the next day.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: You can't do anything about what has all already happened.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: You know, it's the past. In so many words, it's
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: water over the dam. So you can't do anything about
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: the past. You cannot prevent anything in the future coming
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: your way. You know, you could make a lot mentioned
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: plans and stuff, but tomorrow could bring some surprises. So
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: the one thing that you were created to do was
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: master your day. God created us or we deal in
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: twenty four hour segments. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: not saying that you're not supposed to plan, have aspirations, goals, dreams,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: and have you know, targets for other thing. Inchybody into
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: anything that sense. I got that. What I am saying
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: to you is you function best in the now, because
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: then now is the one thing that you have to
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: say so in and if you can learn to ask
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: God to give us this day our daily bread. Just
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: like the birds. Birds don't have silos and barns and
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: storage houses. Birds don't store food. Birds wake up every day.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: They sing His praises in the morning, and then they
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: get about today. And don't God take care of it? Well,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: He's made that promise to you. You hear old people
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: singing a song. His eyes on the sparrow. I know
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: he watches me that. I didn't get that when I
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: was growing up. I heard it, I sang it in
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: the church. But I'm really starting to really understand that
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: they give us this day, our daily bread. That's an
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: important thing. And when it comes to tomorrow, to worry
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: about tomorrow is wasted energy because there's nothing you can
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: do about tomorrow until tomorrow gets here. Now you can
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: dry start dressing it there. But to worry about something,
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: it's wasted energy. Because I've been learning that worry cannot
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: produce one extra hour of life for you. By worrying,
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: you can I extend your life one single hour due
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: to worry. So if you can't even by worrying, do
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: that thing that's really important, what you're worried about the
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: rest of before, why would you be worried about anything else?
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: And that's what I've been learning when it says to
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: learn how to master time, so time doesn't master you.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: If you lose focus of today right now, your presence,
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: your relationship with God right now, and you got it
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: all tied up in your future with that wasted energy,
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: you gotta miss some steps today. We were created as
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: twenty four hour creatures. We're in our absolute best when
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: we are living in the moment. Call now, the moment
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: your whole focus is on your future, You're gonna make
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: missteps today, the moment your whole thought processes about what
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: happened to you in the past, and how you can't
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: get over it that will cause you to make missteps today.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: And then as you make these missteps today, you keep
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: blaming it on your pass and God don't love me,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: and God don't hear my cry. Now, Partner, you keep
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: holding on to something in your pass or you keep
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: worrying about something in your future, and you're not focused
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: on the twenty four pressures hours that He's given you
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: right now. The past belongs to history, the future belongs
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: to God. Now belongs to you. It's yours. That's why
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: they call it the present, because it is God's gift
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: to you right now. Make better use of now, stop
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: worrying about the future, and let go of the past. Bail.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: That's it, so time, don't master you ain't man. Have
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: a great weekend, told John, Yeah, yeah, all right, Steve,
