- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, there's certain moments in politics that are just
- 0:05Speaker 1: really fun. This is one of them where everyone is
- 0:09Speaker 1: now speculating right now about the list, right the list
- 0:15Speaker 1: of who is going to be the vice presidential candidate,
- 0:19Speaker 1: who's going to get picked, and who's on the even
- 0:22Speaker 1: shorter short list after the earlier list came out this week,
- 0:27Speaker 1: Now there was a list, as I mentioned earlier.
- 0:30Speaker 2: This week that came out.
- 0:31Speaker 1: And on that list, if you went through the individuals,
- 0:35Speaker 1: it was Bergham Ben Carson. I told you I didn't
- 0:39Speaker 1: think that one was actually going to happen, just for
- 0:41Speaker 1: the record, but he was on the list. Former Secretary
- 0:44Speaker 1: of Housing and Urban Development, has a great relationship with
- 0:47Speaker 1: the President, and I think he put him on there
- 0:48Speaker 1: almost as a thank you for being loyal. Then there
- 0:51Speaker 1: was Representative Byron Donald's Republican for Florida.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I didn't think he was going to be on the
- 0:55Speaker 2: short list.
- 0:55Speaker 1: As I said on the show, Marco Rubio, I thought
- 0:58Speaker 1: would definitely make it to the final cut.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Senator Tim Scott I.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Thought would definitely make it the final cut. Representative Elise
- 1:04Speaker 1: Tephonic I didn't think she'd make the final cut. And
- 1:06Speaker 1: then Senator JD. Vance, I said, would probably make it.
- 1:08Speaker 1: He's the most maga guy out there and he could
- 1:11Speaker 1: help you in theory in Ohio.
- 1:14Speaker 2: We now are.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Getting reports that the President has now likely put it
- 1:20Speaker 1: down to this three Republicans. Okay, now on this list
- 1:24Speaker 1: of the three Republicans, and this is coming from leaks,
- 1:28Speaker 1: so you understand this. What we're being told is sources
- 1:33Speaker 1: close to the former president said that North Dakota Governor
- 1:36Speaker 1: Doug Bergham is on the list, on the short list.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Then it's Senator JD. Vance.
- 1:43Speaker 1: He's the most maga of them all, is number two.
- 1:47Speaker 1: And then number three they're saying is Marco Rubio. They
- 1:50Speaker 1: are considered the likeliest picks at this point. Now, to
- 1:54Speaker 1: be clear, there is a handful of others that have
- 1:58Speaker 1: received vetting materials and Trump can make a surprise choice.
- 2:01Speaker 2: What does that mean. I think Tim.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Scott is absolutely still on this list based on what
- 2:06Speaker 1: I've been told from other people in and around the campaign.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I also could see the President just screwing with the
- 2:12Speaker 1: media here, giving them these three guys and end up
- 2:15Speaker 1: being someone completely different. What I do know is Tim Scott,
- 2:19Speaker 1: and I say this because I want you to pay
- 2:21Speaker 1: attention This is my way of winking at all of
- 2:25Speaker 1: you through the airwaves. Is Tim Scott is going to
- 2:29Speaker 1: be at the debate? We've been told, So are you
- 2:33Speaker 1: going to show up with this debate if you're not
- 2:34Speaker 1: the guy?
- 2:35Speaker 2: You understand my point, right?
- 2:37Speaker 1: I think he still believes very much that he is
- 2:40Speaker 1: on that short list. One Trump ally told the Hill
- 2:45Speaker 1: newspaper quote, I don't know how it all shakes out,
- 2:49Speaker 1: but I'm fairly confident it ends up being one of
- 2:51Speaker 1: those three. Now again, the three is JD. Vance, Marco Rubio,
- 2:55Speaker 1: and Doug Bergham. The former president also said his choice
- 2:59Speaker 1: for vice president would be at Thursday's debate. And I
- 3:02Speaker 1: said he was probably going to mess with the media,
- 3:03Speaker 1: mess with you and say, yeah, it's one of these
- 3:05Speaker 1: guys out here in the audience right now. Bergram, Rubio,
- 3:08Speaker 1: and Vance, as well as several others who are on
- 3:12Speaker 1: the list, are all expected to attend a fundraiser with
- 3:15Speaker 1: Trump in Atlanta following the debate, which tells me exactly
- 3:22Speaker 1: what I said to you. I don't know if we're
- 3:23Speaker 1: going to get a pick before the debate. Now he
- 3:26Speaker 1: could do something and like name it during the debate.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I don't think that would be his style.
- 3:31Speaker 2: That's my gut.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Now maybe wrong, and we're going to explore that in
- 3:34Speaker 1: a moment. But first, let me tell you about my
- 3:36Speaker 1: friends over at Patriot Mobile. If you are a conservative
- 3:41Speaker 1: like me, and you're sick and tired of giving your
- 3:43Speaker 1: mind to companies that hate your values, hate your family,
- 3:47Speaker 1: hate your faith, then you need to know where your
- 3:50Speaker 1: money's been going.
- 3:50Speaker 2: When you've been paying your bill every month to Big Mobile.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Big Mobile takes your money and they give big donations
- 3:58Speaker 1: to democratic causes, candidates and organizations, including Planned Parenthood. You
- 4:06Speaker 1: may not realize just how much money they are giving.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It is a lot, and they do it year after
- 4:13Speaker 1: year after year. When you pay your bill, I have
- 4:16Speaker 1: switched to Patriot Mobile. And let me just tell you,
- 4:20Speaker 1: in twenty twenty four, switching has never been easier with
- 4:22Speaker 1: your cell phone. It used to be miserable. That's why
- 4:24Speaker 1: people didn't do it. It's easy now. It's all done over
- 4:28Speaker 1: the phone. You can keep your same cell phone you
- 4:30Speaker 1: have right now. You can keep your same cell phone
- 4:33Speaker 1: number you have right now, and all you have to
- 4:36Speaker 1: do to call is call Patriot Mobile and switch. It's yes,
- 4:39Speaker 1: that easy. Their number nine seven to two Patriot. Now,
- 4:43Speaker 1: when you switch, this is what happens. You're going to
- 4:45Speaker 1: save money on what you're paying now, and something else
- 4:48Speaker 1: amazing is going to happen. They take about five percent
- 4:51Speaker 1: of your bill each and every month, and they give
- 4:53Speaker 1: it back to conservative causes, candidates and organizations, including organization
- 5:00Speaker 1: that fight for our First and Second Amendment rights, fight
- 5:03Speaker 1: to protect unborn babies, and they also support our military,
- 5:07Speaker 1: our veterans, our first responders, and are wounded warrior heroes.
- 5:11Speaker 1: That's why I want you to switch. So call them
- 5:14Speaker 1: nine to seven to two Patriot. It's nine seven to
- 5:17Speaker 1: two Patriot or Patriot mobile dot com slash ben that's
- 5:22Speaker 1: Patriot mobile dot com slash ben or nine seven to
- 5:26Speaker 1: two Patriot. All right, now, let's get back to this list.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I think Trump is probably messing with everybody in the
- 5:35Speaker 1: media right now. He's gonna have some fun to debate
- 5:38Speaker 1: and say, my vice presidential Kenned is in the audience tonight,
- 5:42Speaker 1: and he's gonna have a lot of fun messing with
- 5:43Speaker 1: people that way, and he's gonna enjoy every single moment
- 5:47Speaker 1: of that. All right, So prepare for that. That's what
- 5:51Speaker 1: I think he's going to do. Do I think that
- 5:54Speaker 1: these people that are leaking know exactly what Trump's gonna do.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I do not believe they are.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I think the list is bigger than the three that
- 6:02Speaker 1: they're mentioning, and I think it's probably down to four
- 6:06Speaker 1: or five. And I think if there's anybody that can
- 6:08Speaker 1: change their mind at the last minute, it would no doubt.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Be Donald Trump.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Donald Trump will decide when this is going to happen,
- 6:15Speaker 1: and I think it will probably be after the debates.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I think he'll go and have the moment after He'll
- 6:21Speaker 1: go to Atlanta to the fundraiser. He'll do his fundraiser
- 6:24Speaker 1: there with all these other cats around him. He'll show
- 6:26Speaker 1: a sign of unity and force of the Republican movement
- 6:30Speaker 1: behind him, and he's going to like that image, I think,
- 6:35Speaker 1: for quite some time. And that's what this is really
- 6:38Speaker 1: going to be about for him. I think it's going
- 6:41Speaker 1: to be a smart move, by the way, to enjoy
- 6:44Speaker 1: these headlines and have so many people behind you wanting
- 6:47Speaker 1: the job in defending you. That's another aspect of why
- 6:51Speaker 1: I don't believe when the media says, oh, it's down
- 6:53Speaker 1: to these three and this is the only three and
- 6:55Speaker 1: there's no others I just.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I don't believe it. I don't buy it.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I also think the President enjoys what comes from all
- 7:01Speaker 1: of these individuals, and by waiting a little bit longer,
- 7:04Speaker 1: they're all out there doing surrogate work on his behalf.
- 7:08Speaker 1: They are all out there advocating for him this president
- 7:12Speaker 1: or debate. Right afterwards, they're all going to be doing
- 7:14Speaker 1: interviews and they're all going to be supporting President Trump
- 7:16Speaker 1: and echoing his message. I think there's some people on
- 7:19Speaker 1: the short list that actually do not believe they're going
- 7:22Speaker 1: to get it, but they're looking and jocking for cabinet positions.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Ben Carson is a great example of that. Let's Stefanic
- 7:31Speaker 1: is another great example of that. I think even Bergham,
- 7:34Speaker 1: who yes, I think he's clearly on the short short list,
- 7:37Speaker 1: but he also is an individual that could be in
- 7:39Speaker 1: the cabinet in a major secretary position. This is the
- 7:43Speaker 1: reason why I just straight up believe that this is
- 7:48Speaker 1: all going to be a big show this week that's
- 7:51Speaker 1: going to help him get elected.
- 7:52Speaker 2: And I'm in favor of that.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Now, let me also tell you about another major development
- 7:57Speaker 1: in the campaign of Joe Biden that is actually I
- 7:59Speaker 1: would argue more important than what I just talked to
- 8:02Speaker 1: you about, and that is Joe Biden's campaign chair has
- 8:06Speaker 1: an essence now surrendered Florida's thirty electoral votes to Donald Trump.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Joe Biden's campaign chairman, Jen O'Malley Dillon, has already conceded
- 8:16Speaker 1: Florida's thirty electoral votes to former President Trump. During a
- 8:20Speaker 1: podcast interview with the far left Puck, O'Malley dillon was
- 8:24Speaker 1: asked if the campaign considered Florida a legitimate battleground state,
- 8:29Speaker 1: on that they would you contest in the coming months.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Her answer was a flat no, they are admitting defeat there.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:40Speaker 1: The other question that was asked about this, I'm gonna
- 8:43Speaker 1: get back to Florida a moment was are you saying
- 8:45Speaker 1: you see North Carolina also as a battleground state. O'Malley
- 8:49Speaker 1: dylan said yes, Then Florida she said again no, This
- 8:55Speaker 1: was what was said from the campaign.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Now, Biden's ground organizing.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Staff in Florida heard this news, and now they are
- 9:04Speaker 1: apparently completely demoralized, like what are we doing here? If
- 9:08Speaker 1: you guys are giving up on Florida, why are we
- 9:10Speaker 1: even still here? It also sends a message of democratic
- 9:14Speaker 1: voters that your vote doesn't really matter in Florida because
- 9:18Speaker 1: we've already given up and we think we're going to lose. Now,
- 9:22Speaker 1: Conceding a state is important as Florida and those electoral
- 9:25Speaker 1: votes this early on is I think, actually want a
- 9:31Speaker 1: shocking move that it's happening this early. But two, I
- 9:35Speaker 1: also think it shows you just how tone death Biden
- 9:39Speaker 1: has been on issues that deal with many seniors and
- 9:43Speaker 1: border issues in the border crisis, and that's the reason
- 9:47Speaker 1: why he's having to concede this early. I also think
- 9:50Speaker 1: in the same breath that this is actually a very
- 9:53Speaker 1: smart move by the Democratic Party because they realize they
- 9:56Speaker 1: don't have unlimited resources this time to run Joe Biden
- 10:00Speaker 1: the way they did last time, and so they're saying, Okay,
- 10:04Speaker 1: we've got to be smarter with our resources, right, We've
- 10:07Speaker 1: got to be smarter with our manpower, and we're not
- 10:13Speaker 1: going to go out there and try to play in
- 10:15Speaker 1: a state like Florida that's leaning so far to Donald
- 10:18Speaker 1: Trump and to the governor there, DeSantis, and think that
- 10:22Speaker 1: we're going to somehow pull like some massive upset. It's
- 10:25Speaker 1: just not going to happen. And so you look at
- 10:29Speaker 1: the calendar right now, and it's June. The election is
- 10:33Speaker 1: not until November. So when you start conceding in June
- 10:38Speaker 1: a state that is as important as Florida that has
- 10:41Speaker 1: been in play by the way, in the past in
- 10:44Speaker 1: Florida for the Democratic Party, that also, I think tells
- 10:48Speaker 1: you about the mentality right now of the electorate, especially
- 10:52Speaker 1: those that are suffering and those that have also left
- 10:56Speaker 1: places like New York and California and have gone to
- 10:59Speaker 1: place like Florida, which is I think has actually made
- 11:02Speaker 1: the state of Florida even more conservative. I also think
- 11:07Speaker 1: that the issue of the tone death aspect of this
- 11:13Speaker 1: president when it comes to protecting us on the issue
- 11:17Speaker 1: of illegal immigrants. There are seven plus million illegal immigrants
- 11:23Speaker 1: right now in this country that are awaiting court hearings
- 11:27Speaker 1: or deportation. This is coming from the former acting ICE
- 11:32Speaker 1: director on Fox Listen and.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Former US Border Patrol trief Ron. So essentially, ICE says
- 11:40Speaker 3: they're going to replace this center. It houses about sixteen
- 11:43Speaker 3: excuse me, twenty four one hundred people, and they're going
- 11:46Speaker 3: to replace that with sixteen hundred beds at other facilities.
- 11:52Speaker 3: First off, sixteen hundred is eight hundred less than twenty
- 11:56Speaker 3: four hundred.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And then second of all, aren't the.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Rest of the detention facilities in that already at over capacity.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Well, all of the border patrol processing facilities have been
- 12:06Speaker 4: over capacity for quite some time. ICE's detention space is
- 12:09Speaker 4: probably underfunded given the volume of activity that's happening at
- 12:13Speaker 4: the border. And then this administration, you can just tell
- 12:16Speaker 4: they don't their tone deaf on this issue. Besides having
- 12:19Speaker 4: no credibility, what's happened at the Southwest border is an
- 12:22Speaker 4: absolute travesty. We saw what happened to this family in Houston,
- 12:25Speaker 4: the family in New York the week a couple of
- 12:27Speaker 4: days before. I mean, this is happening all over the country,
- 12:30Speaker 4: and having fewer detention beds, having not enough funding for detention,
- 12:34Speaker 4: I mean, think about the numbers that we just saw
- 12:36Speaker 4: are the people that got away. That's a big problem,
- 12:38Speaker 4: that's a big thread across the country. Then you also
- 12:41Speaker 4: have the government releasing people in vast numbers. The fastest
- 12:45Speaker 4: way to deport somebody is to have them in detention.
- 12:47Speaker 4: The fastest way not to be deported is to be
- 12:49Speaker 4: out of detention, and there are millions of people in
- 12:53Speaker 4: that situation. Just since the pendency of this presidency.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Let's throw up some.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Of those numbers so our viewers at home can see
- 12:59Speaker 3: what you're talking about. This is ICE's non detained docket.
- 13:02Speaker 3: It has more than doubled since President Biden came to
- 13:05Speaker 3: office three years ago. You can see right here fiscal
- 13:07Speaker 3: year twenty twenty one three point six million, and counting
- 13:12Speaker 3: fast forward to today fiscal year twenty twenty four so
- 13:15Speaker 3: far seven point four million. We're only halfway through the year.
- 13:20Speaker 2: It's out of control.
- 13:20Speaker 4: It's another example of how this administration has been derelict
- 13:24Speaker 4: in their duty to secure the border and protect the country.
- 13:27Speaker 4: There's no reason for that many people to be released
- 13:30Speaker 4: in the United States, but because of the policies that
- 13:33Speaker 4: were rescinded when Joe Biden took over, we have this
- 13:36Speaker 4: huge rush at the border.
- 13:37Speaker 2: We're still in record territory.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Even though they've noted a downturn in activity, We're still.
- 13:42Speaker 2: In record territory. You're still at today's pace.
- 13:44Speaker 4: You still have a million people that are going to
- 13:46Speaker 4: be encountered by CBP in a year's time.
- 13:48Speaker 3: So this is what the administration says about reasons for
- 13:53Speaker 3: shutting this down. This is a statement from ICE. ICE
- 13:56Speaker 3: continually reviews the overall detention capacity and in so doing
- 13:59Speaker 3: take action to close certain facilities that no longer provide
- 14:03Speaker 3: a sufficient return on investment. This includes so then closing
- 14:07Speaker 3: the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas, which
- 14:10Speaker 3: is the most expensive facility in the national detention network. Okay,
- 14:14Speaker 3: so we get it, it's expensive. What do they mean
- 14:16Speaker 3: by return on investment?
- 14:17Speaker 4: Well, this thing was built to house families together in
- 14:21Speaker 4: detention back in the Obama administration, so twenty around the
- 14:25Speaker 4: era twenty fourteen, it was open to whole families together
- 14:29Speaker 4: so that they could see a judge, have the due process,
- 14:31Speaker 4: and be removed because most of them didn't qualify for
- 14:34Speaker 4: the asylum claims that they were making, So it was
- 14:36Speaker 4: built specifically for that. It's not as good for single adults,
- 14:40Speaker 4: which can be held and should be held in larger
- 14:43Speaker 4: numbers given what's going on at the border, and so
- 14:45Speaker 4: you know they're trading those dollars for other dollars in
- 14:48Speaker 4: different facilities.
- 14:49Speaker 3: All right, well, you know it's something Ron, We got
- 14:51Speaker 3: to leave it there, but thanks for coming in.
- 14:53Speaker 1: I mean, you listen to Ron here, former acting ICE director,
- 14:58Speaker 1: and what he just said is not only the Bideminster
- 15:00Speaker 1: tone death on the border crisis. But there's no reason
- 15:03Speaker 1: for that many people to be released into the United
- 15:05Speaker 1: States of America, seven plus million. Many of them are
- 15:08Speaker 1: not going to show up for their court dates. Many
- 15:10Speaker 1: of them are not going to show up for deportation
- 15:12Speaker 1: right like, They're just not going to. They know they
- 15:15Speaker 1: don't have to. They know that no one's gonna come
- 15:18Speaker 1: and get them. They know that no one's going to
- 15:20Speaker 1: deport them as long as Joe Biden is the president
- 15:22Speaker 1: of the United States of America. So you combined all
- 15:25Speaker 1: of that intel and all of that data, and it
- 15:28Speaker 1: simply says to you, Hey, guess what.
- 15:34Speaker 2: We're letting you in.
- 15:35Speaker 1: This is what Biden's saying through actions, not words, but
- 15:38Speaker 1: through actions. Okay, we're letting you in. You're going to
- 15:43Speaker 1: come into this country. We're letting you into this country.
- 15:47Speaker 1: We're not going to come find you. Don't show up
- 15:50Speaker 1: for your court date, don't show up for anything, and
- 15:55Speaker 1: just live your life, and eventually we will.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Give you amnesty.
- 16:00Speaker 1: This is no different, by the way, than what happened
- 16:03Speaker 1: with just a few days ago, a few weeks ago.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Was buying votes right when you had all.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Of a sudden, the President go, I'm gonna, you know,
- 16:12Speaker 1: give a bunch of money away and student loan forgiveness
- 16:14Speaker 1: yet again, and we're gonna do this. So it's gonna
- 16:17Speaker 1: make amazing huge difference here.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Now.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Number one, the Supreme Court has already said you can't
- 16:23Speaker 1: do this, and what is the President said, here's the
- 16:26Speaker 1: middle finger, Supreme Court.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I can do whatever the hell I.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Want to do because I'm the president and I don't
- 16:30Speaker 1: have to listen to you. There are no checks and
- 16:32Speaker 1: balances on me, all right, So that's number one.
- 16:36Speaker 2: They've already said you can't do this.
- 16:37Speaker 1: But if you announce it and you lie the American people,
- 16:40Speaker 1: then somebody's gonna be dumb enough to vote for you, going, oh,
- 16:43Speaker 1: many paid off my student loaned it.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Right, everything's good.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Well, now we have another judge that has had to
- 16:49Speaker 1: jump in this from the Today Show.
- 16:52Speaker 5: Federal judges in Kansas and Missouri have temporarily blocked President
- 16:56Speaker 5: Biden's student loan forgiveness program. So the rulings put on
- 17:00Speaker 5: the Save plan, which allows borrowers whose balances were twelve
- 17:04Speaker 5: thousand dollars or less to have their debt forgiven after
- 17:08Speaker 5: ten years. The decision does not cancel financial assistance that's
- 17:11Speaker 5: already been provided. In a statement, the White House said this,
- 17:14Speaker 5: we strongly disagree with today's rulings and the Department of
- 17:18Speaker 5: Justice will continue to vigorously defend the SAVE Plan.
- 17:23Speaker 2: So that's called buying votes, right.
- 17:25Speaker 1: You say, hey, you've had a student loan debt for
- 17:27Speaker 1: you know, it's under twelve grand for you know, you
- 17:29Speaker 1: had it for ten years, a decade, and so here's
- 17:32Speaker 1: a deal.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Here's what we want to do with you.
- 17:34Speaker 1: We want to We're just going to forgive that, right,
- 17:36Speaker 1: We're just we're just going to forgive it and thank
- 17:39Speaker 1: you for voting for Joe Biden for President twenty twenty four.
- 17:42Speaker 1: This is this is an end kind donation. This is,
- 17:45Speaker 1: i think, actually against the law, buying votes. It's supposed
- 17:47Speaker 1: to be against the law. But the President units it's America,
- 17:50Speaker 1: is saying to the American people, even after the Supreme
- 17:53Speaker 1: Court said you have no authority to do this, you
- 17:55Speaker 1: cannot do this. This will not stand. I'm going to
- 17:58Speaker 1: do it anyway. It's called by votes. That's what it is. Okay,
- 18:02Speaker 1: It's called buying a vote. And the President is obviously
- 18:07Speaker 1: very desperate right now. He desperately needs to buy votes,
- 18:11Speaker 1: and he's giving up on places like Florida, conceding the
- 18:16Speaker 1: state to Donald Trump. Now, let me explain on this
- 18:20Speaker 1: debt forgiveness why Joe Biden and his team think this
- 18:24Speaker 1: is a smart play even though they know that these
- 18:26Speaker 1: judges are going to knock them around. This federal judge
- 18:30Speaker 1: on Monday that temporarily barred the Education Department from allowing
- 18:34Speaker 1: additional loan forgiveness under a key component of President Joe
- 18:36Speaker 1: Biden's student loan relief plan, which is a plan to
- 18:39Speaker 1: buy votes. The judges order halted the cancelation of federal
- 18:42Speaker 1: student loans under the Income Driven Repayment Plan known as
- 18:45Speaker 1: SAVE after several states suit over the program. The Biden
- 18:50Speaker 1: administration isn't joined from any further loan forgiveness for borrowers
- 18:54Speaker 1: under the final rules SAVE plan until such time as
- 18:58Speaker 1: the court can decide the case on the merits. That's
- 19:01Speaker 1: what the US District Judge John A. Ross wrote. The
- 19:06Speaker 1: same plan came about after the Supreme Court last year
- 19:11Speaker 1: rejected the Biden administration's broader effort to address debt under
- 19:16Speaker 1: its pandemic air Relief plan, which aimed a race up
- 19:19Speaker 1: to twenty thousand dollars in federal student loan debt for
- 19:23Speaker 1: about forty three million borrowers. Translation, we're trying to buy
- 19:27Speaker 1: forty three million votes and giving each one of them
- 19:30Speaker 1: twenty grand.
- 19:30Speaker 2: To vote for US.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Ross also rejected an effort by the Biden administration to
- 19:35Speaker 1: dismiss the case, saying the state that brought the lawsuit
- 19:39Speaker 1: had standing and quote are likely to succeed on the
- 19:42Speaker 1: merit of their argument that the early loan forgiveness provisions
- 19:46Speaker 1: were done in a manner exceeding the Secretary's test tory authority,
- 19:52Speaker 1: referring to the Secretary of Education. The Missouri Attorney General
- 19:57Speaker 1: Andrew Bailey, representing one of the seven states that brought
- 20:00Speaker 1: the lawsuit, also talking about the ruling, saying this quote.
- 20:04Speaker 1: By attempting to saddle working people with Ivy League debt,
- 20:08Speaker 1: Joe Biden is undermining our constitutional structure, Bailey said in
- 20:13Speaker 1: a statement, saying, quote, only Congress has the power of
- 20:15Speaker 1: the purse, not the President. Today's ruling was a huge
- 20:19Speaker 1: win for the rule of all and for every American
- 20:23Speaker 1: whom Joe Biden was about to force to pay off
- 20:25Speaker 1: someone else's debt. Arkansas's Attorney General Tim Griffin said, quote,
- 20:31Speaker 1: With Independence Day fast approaching, another court is reminded President
- 20:37Speaker 1: Biden that he is not a king. He can't go
- 20:41Speaker 1: around Congress and unilaterally cancel student loans. He should have
- 20:45Speaker 1: learned that from School House Rock.
- 20:48Speaker 2: That makes me laugh.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Kansas Attorney General echoed the same thing by saying in
- 20:53Speaker 1: his statement that the loan forgiveness plan quote is not
- 20:57Speaker 1: only unconstitutional, it's unfair, saying blue collar workers who didn't
- 21:02Speaker 1: go to college shouldn't have to pay off the student
- 21:05Speaker 1: loans of New Yorkers with gender studies degrees.
- 21:10Speaker 2: These guys are amazing.
- 21:11Speaker 1: The other states involved in the lawsuit include Now Florida, Georgia,
- 21:14Speaker 1: North Dakota, Ohio, and Oklahoma, and their lawsuits the states
- 21:18Speaker 1: that asked the judges declare that the program violated the
- 21:22Speaker 1: separation of powers under the Constitution because the President doesn't
- 21:25Speaker 1: actually have the power to do this.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Ross set.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Other aspects of the programs, such as lowering monthly payments
- 21:32Speaker 1: and limiting interests, accrule are benefiting borrowers and can continue,
- 21:37Speaker 1: adding that the states that sue have not shown that
- 21:40Speaker 1: these provisions harm them, meaning the state or the tax payers.
- 21:44Speaker 1: In another blow by the way to the Biden administration
- 21:47Speaker 1: student loan debt relief plan. A federal judge blocked the
- 21:50Speaker 1: Biden administration from impending parts of the program that we're
- 21:55Speaker 1: set to go into effect on July one, so just
- 21:57Speaker 1: six days from now. It's a Judge Daniel Crabtree found
- 22:02Speaker 1: that while Kansas and ten other states that sued over
- 22:05Speaker 1: the same plan had not demonstrated irreparable harm from provisions
- 22:10Speaker 1: already in effect, they had shown irreparable harm from forthcoming provisions.
- 22:15Speaker 1: He granted their requests for a preliminary injunction of aspect,
- 22:20Speaker 1: and he says that these have not been implemented yet,
- 22:23Speaker 1: but if they were, it would cost people out of money.
- 22:26Speaker 1: So his order is set to go into effect Sunday night,
- 22:29Speaker 1: allowing time for any appeals now. The eleven states had
- 22:33Speaker 1: argued in their March lawsuit that the program violated the
- 22:36Speaker 1: Constitution and also the Administrative Procedure Act, and that many
- 22:40Speaker 1: of them suffered losses of state tax revenue because of
- 22:44Speaker 1: the plan's provisions, specifically related to student loan forgiveness.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Don't worry.
- 22:49Speaker 1: The White House Press secretary doing what she does best,
- 22:52Speaker 1: blasting the court ruling undermining the court and the rule
- 22:55Speaker 1: of law, saying quote, we strongly disagree with today's ruling
- 22:59Speaker 1: on our Save Plan, and the Department of Justice will
- 23:02Speaker 1: continue to vigorously defend the Save Plan. It's unfortunate that
- 23:06Speaker 1: Republican elected officials and their allies have fought tooth and
- 23:09Speaker 1: nail to prevent their constituents from accessing lower payments and
- 23:15Speaker 1: a faster path to debt forgiveness, and that courts are
- 23:18Speaker 1: now rejecting authority that the Department has applied repeatedly for
- 23:24Speaker 1: decades to improve income driven repayment plans. In a separate statement,
- 23:30Speaker 1: that the Secretary of Education had that his department has
- 23:33Speaker 1: relied on the authority under the Higher Education Act three
- 23:36Speaker 1: times over the last thirty years to implement income driven
- 23:38Speaker 1: repayment plans. The Justice Department, which obviously is going to
- 23:42Speaker 1: do everything they can defend Biden, has declined to comment
- 23:46Speaker 1: on the rulings. Now you look at all this and
- 23:49Speaker 1: why are they still doing it knowing they're going to lose.
- 23:52Speaker 2: It's real simple.
- 23:53Speaker 1: The Biden administration has forgiven significant amounts under the Save Plan.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Last month, officials and ounce the approval of an additional
- 24:01Speaker 1: one hundred or six hundred and thirteen million in debt
- 24:04Speaker 1: to be canceled for more than fifty four thousand borrowers
- 24:07Speaker 1: under the plan. Those fifty four thousand borrowers have family
- 24:10Speaker 1: and friends. If you get rid of six hundred and
- 24:13Speaker 1: thirteen million in debt right by fifty four thousand borrowers
- 24:17Speaker 1: under this plan, that's a lot of people that were
- 24:19Speaker 1: vote for you. The administration also said last month, and
- 24:25Speaker 1: this is the second reason why they're doing this, playing
- 24:27Speaker 1: politics in line to the American people that quote, overall,
- 24:31Speaker 1: four point seven five million people have benefited from debt
- 24:35Speaker 1: cancelation actions, and that it had approved the one hundred
- 24:39Speaker 1: and sixty seven billion in loan forgiveness. So what does
- 24:43Speaker 1: it cost you to buy four point seventy five million votes?
- 24:46Speaker 1: Apparently it costs you one hundred and sixty seven billion dollars,
- 24:50Speaker 1: your tax dollars. They understand this. It's real simple. You
- 24:56Speaker 1: look at someone who has student loan debt, especially someone
- 24:59Speaker 1: that's younger, and you look at a family of two,
- 25:03Speaker 1: for example, and in that family of two, right, there's
- 25:09Speaker 1: a husband and a wife, or a husband a husband
- 25:11Speaker 1: or a wife and a wife.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Right.
- 25:12Speaker 1: The Biden administration doesn't care what your family looks like.
- 25:15Speaker 1: They just want you to vote for them. And you
- 25:17Speaker 1: walk in and you go, Hi, I'm Joe Biden for
- 25:19Speaker 1: president because you voted for me. I just got rid
- 25:22Speaker 1: of forty thousand dollars of your debt. You think those
- 25:25Speaker 1: people are going to vote for Joe Biden? Absolutely, And
- 25:30Speaker 1: that is exactly why this is bribery. This is bribing
- 25:36Speaker 1: those that are running for office and bribing them in
- 25:42Speaker 1: a way that is that is so transparent. I can't
- 25:48Speaker 1: get over the transparent aspect of this bribery. Okay, Like
- 25:53Speaker 1: that's the part that you really need to understand. They're
- 25:56Speaker 1: not hiding it, folks. They are saying, I'm I want
- 26:00Speaker 1: your vote, and I'm willing to give you twenty grand
- 26:03Speaker 1: for it. And they know that the people that are
- 26:06Speaker 1: going to pay for this are gonna be mad, but
- 26:08Speaker 1: it doesn't matter because there's so many people that will
- 26:11Speaker 1: vote for them if they do this. They do outweigh,
- 26:14Speaker 1: they've done the math. They understand that if they can
- 26:17Speaker 1: get forty million people debt relief and there's twenty million
- 26:21Speaker 1: that are mad at them, that's a two to one ratio. Right,
- 26:24Speaker 1: you might lose one vote but you just gain two.
- 26:28Speaker 1: That's a deal that almost every politician would take every day.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Except the difference this time is it's not a policy,
- 26:37Speaker 1: it's bribery. It's not a I'm going to protect America,
- 26:41Speaker 1: I'm going to secure the border, I'm gonna whatever make
- 26:44Speaker 1: schools better. No, no, this is just simple bribery. One
- 26:49Speaker 1: final thought on this. This is a moment when Donald
- 26:53Speaker 1: Trump should hammer the president, not only for lawlessness and
- 26:56Speaker 1: the debate, but looking at the America people.
- 27:00Speaker 2: And knowing that he's lying to the American.
- 27:02Speaker 1: People while he's trying to bribe them, he should just say,
- 27:07Speaker 1: the Supreme Court struck you down, dude, and now these
- 27:11Speaker 1: other courts are striking you down. Why are you sitting
- 27:14Speaker 1: here giving false hope to to these people? Why are
- 27:18Speaker 1: you playing them? Mister president? Is it because you're trying
- 27:21Speaker 1: to buy their vote and you know you're going to
- 27:23Speaker 1: screw them in the end because that's what you've done
- 27:25Speaker 1: so far. If he takes his time and explains it
- 27:29Speaker 1: that way methodically, he's going to be in great shape.
- 27:33Speaker 2: This is one of those key moments.
