- 1:24Speaker 5: Gotta turn.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I got to turn the mouth turn You probably got
- 1:44Speaker 2: to turn the mouth turn out, turn.
- 1:46Speaker 5: The water of the mony up looking.
- 1:55Speaker 6: Come come on, you think that, Uh huh, I sure
- 2:03Speaker 6: will a good morning everybody. You are listening to the voice,
- 2:08Speaker 6: Come on now, digny if you will, one and only
- 2:11Speaker 6: Steve Harvey got a radio show, you know, one of
- 2:15Speaker 6: the things about being successful. And I was sharing this
- 2:20Speaker 6: just the other day with a young man and he
- 2:24Speaker 6: asked me. He said, hey, man, I just don't see
- 2:27Speaker 6: how you get up that early in the morning. I
- 2:31Speaker 6: just don't see how, man, it would kill me to
- 2:34Speaker 6: get up this early in the morning. Well, I sat
- 2:37Speaker 6: down and I'm listening to it because it's just a
- 2:39Speaker 6: thousand times I've heard it, you know, And my life is,
- 2:42Speaker 6: you know, not too different from a lot.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Of people's lives.
- 2:45Speaker 6: There's a lot of people out there that rise early.
- 2:48Speaker 6: And I just sit there, man, because I mean, first
- 2:51Speaker 6: of all, I'm grateful to be able to have a job.
- 2:54Speaker 6: I'm so grateful to be able to do one and
- 2:56Speaker 6: several that I happen to enjoy doing. I mean, you
- 2:59Speaker 6: know it's work and it's difficult at times, but I mean,
- 3:02Speaker 6: you know I wanted this.
- 3:04Speaker 1: You know you got it. You know you can't ask
- 3:06Speaker 1: God for nothing any give it to you then be
- 3:08Speaker 1: mad that you got it. Don't make no sense.
- 3:10Speaker 4: You know.
- 3:10Speaker 6: The problem with asking God for stuff is a lot
- 3:13Speaker 6: of times we ask it for stuff we don't really
- 3:15Speaker 6: know what all it encompasses, what all it really is.
- 3:18Speaker 6: And I ask for this now along the way, I've
- 3:21Speaker 6: gotten far more than.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I asked for. I want you to do.
- 3:24Speaker 6: Understand that, and you know that's His grace at work
- 3:28Speaker 6: in my life. But I get up early and I
- 3:30Speaker 6: go to work because I do understand something that it
- 3:33Speaker 6: is not walking up to you. Nobody walks up to
- 3:37Speaker 6: people normally and just hand them checks all the time,
- 3:41Speaker 6: and enough checks to sustain your life, and not only
- 3:44Speaker 6: sustain it, but to have a life that where you
- 3:46Speaker 6: could enjoy and do some of the things you want
- 3:49Speaker 6: to do. I don't know the person that walks out
- 3:51Speaker 6: hands out that money just to be doing it and
- 3:54Speaker 6: then with a lifestyle though, where you can you know,
- 3:57Speaker 6: give your kids a Christmas, you know, take your family
- 4:00Speaker 6: on vacation, you know, a year. Once a year. I
- 4:02Speaker 6: don't know nobody passing out to kind of money. So
- 4:04Speaker 6: I get up early in the morning and I get
- 4:06Speaker 6: at it. I was taught to get up early in
- 4:09Speaker 6: the morning by my father because my father says, ain't
- 4:14Speaker 6: nothing gonna come to you while you laying now. And
- 4:16Speaker 6: you know what, It's just true, man, It's just a
- 4:19Speaker 6: little common sense. Little old people smart man, they've been
- 4:22Speaker 6: around a long time. You don't get old. You know,
- 4:24Speaker 6: some old foods out there, but you know you don't
- 4:25Speaker 6: have to deal with them. But old people are pretty smart, man.
- 4:28Speaker 6: They've learned a lot along the way. And waking up
- 4:31Speaker 6: early and getting at it is one of them things.
- 4:33Speaker 6: And I ask everybody man to think about this scenario
- 4:36Speaker 6: of your life. If a day has twenty four hours
- 4:39Speaker 6: in it, and let's just say you choose to sleep
- 4:43Speaker 6: eight of those hours because they tell you you need
- 4:46Speaker 6: eight hours sleep, So you sleep eight hours, that's a
- 4:50Speaker 6: third of your life asleep already, just a third of
- 4:54Speaker 6: your life is spent asleep. If you gonna do eight
- 4:58Speaker 6: hours a day. Now, let's say you have a job
- 5:01Speaker 6: that you work eight hours, and it is not the
- 5:04Speaker 6: job of your dreams. It's not your dream career, your
- 5:06Speaker 6: dream profession. It's just the one you took, like all
- 5:09Speaker 6: of us, to get it started. And then, like all
- 5:12Speaker 6: of us, some of us end up having the state
- 5:14Speaker 6: add because we've created these bills because we checked and checked.
- 5:17Speaker 6: So we can't leave it because we'll lose what we've
- 5:20Speaker 6: worked for. So let's just say you got a job
- 5:22Speaker 6: that you go to work to for eight hours. That's
- 5:25Speaker 6: another third of your life. That's two thirds of your life.
- 5:28Speaker 6: Feel how you want to feel about your two thirds? Well,
- 5:31Speaker 6: I like sleep. Okay, cool, there's a scripture about that too.
- 5:34Speaker 6: But now you spent two thirds of your life one
- 5:37Speaker 6: on a job you don't care for if you're not
- 5:38Speaker 6: happy there, or one that just pays the bills, and
- 5:41Speaker 6: it's not your dream job or career. Another third of
- 5:43Speaker 6: your life is sleep. Oh now, let's hold on. Let's
- 5:45Speaker 6: talk about the one hour of preparation that it may
- 5:49Speaker 6: take to get to the job. That's seventeen hours. Let's
- 5:52Speaker 6: say your drive time. Let's say getting to your job
- 5:56Speaker 6: for the average person is anywhere between thirty to an hour.
- 6:00Speaker 6: That's an average of what it takes to average person.
- 6:02Speaker 6: Now some people are there hustling way harder than that.
- 6:04Speaker 6: But let's just say your average is an hour getting
- 6:07Speaker 6: to work. You add another hour to that going to work.
- 6:11Speaker 6: You've now spent eighteen hours out of the twenty four
- 6:16Speaker 6: doing something that's either non productive, you're not happy with,
- 6:21Speaker 6: you're not pleased about. It is not your dream job,
- 6:23Speaker 6: it's not your dream profession. And rest of the time
- 6:25Speaker 6: you sleep. Eighteen hours. Now you got to come from
- 6:28Speaker 6: the job, so let's just say it's another hour to
- 6:30Speaker 6: get back home. That's nineteen hours. Nineteen hours out of
- 6:33Speaker 6: a twenty four hour day. You now have five hours
- 6:35Speaker 6: left in your day. Oh, you watch TV two hours
- 6:39Speaker 6: a day. Okay, excuse me. Let's put now you put
- 6:42Speaker 6: two hours of TV on that you've just spent twenty one.
- 6:45Speaker 1: You now have three hours in the day to.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Do something super productive for the development of yourself and
- 6:54Speaker 6: the future of your family and your future as a
- 6:56Speaker 6: person and what you can provide for your family. Uh Oh,
- 7:02Speaker 6: I need to chill. I need to smoke one. Uh Oh,
- 7:06Speaker 6: I needed some time at happy. I seem like all
- 7:09Speaker 6: I do is dry to work and go to work.
- 7:12Speaker 6: I'm gonna go out with the fellas drink one. Okay,
- 7:16Speaker 6: Let's say you spend two hours at Happy I do
- 7:18Speaker 6: nobody go to a Happy Hours just for a hour.
- 7:20Speaker 6: Let's say you spend two hours at Happy I'll all
- 7:23Speaker 6: smokeing all some video games and let's do that. Is
- 7:25Speaker 6: there two hours of smoking, chilling video games. That's twenty
- 7:29Speaker 6: three hours of your day gone. Don't you see how
- 7:32Speaker 6: your day slips away from you? So why would you
- 7:35Speaker 6: get up early? You get up early to get a jump.
- 7:39Speaker 6: You get up early to produce, to plan, to become productive.
- 7:44Speaker 6: You get up early in the morning to care about
- 7:47Speaker 6: every single minute of your day. You wake up early
- 7:50Speaker 6: in the morning because you have a plan, a mission,
- 7:54Speaker 6: You have something you want to accomplish. The earlier you
- 7:56Speaker 6: get up, the more time you have just for you
- 7:59Speaker 6: to devote to your plan. You map it out, you
- 8:02Speaker 6: make them, send some emails, whatever it is you need
- 8:04Speaker 6: to do to get your dream under way. Then you
- 8:08Speaker 6: go get ready. Then you get in your car and
- 8:10Speaker 6: go to work. Then you go to your job, but
- 8:13Speaker 6: on your job, instead of sitting at your lunch break
- 8:15Speaker 6: messing around with a bunch of people laughing and talking
- 8:18Speaker 6: about nothing, playing dominoes. Why don't you take that hour
- 8:20Speaker 6: to do some more research, to send out some more emails,
- 8:24Speaker 6: to put some feelings out there, to see what can
- 8:27Speaker 6: get you in the place that you want to be.
- 8:29Speaker 6: Then when you get off, instead of driving straight home,
- 8:32Speaker 6: why don't you go somewhere in a meeting, you take
- 8:35Speaker 6: in a session with some people in a positive mental state,
- 8:38Speaker 6: group of people that get together. Network for business, not
- 8:41Speaker 6: drink at happy hour. I said, network for business. So
- 8:44Speaker 6: after you've done that eight that you don't really care
- 8:47Speaker 6: for on a job, you spend some more time pursuing,
- 8:50Speaker 6: looking into researching, working towards, sending out some more applications,
- 8:55Speaker 6: putting in some more time to build your new app
- 8:59Speaker 6: discussing some more networking ideas. Okay, that's your happy hour.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Then when you go home, instead of chilling drinking one,
- 9:06Speaker 6: having a cold one, smoking one, playing a video game,
- 9:10Speaker 6: why don't you take that two hours and devote that
- 9:13Speaker 6: to that business idea You got to that family that
- 9:16Speaker 6: you talk about, you really won't spend some time with
- 9:18Speaker 6: your children, put something into them. Do something, man, with
- 9:22Speaker 6: all these precious hours that God gives all of us
- 9:25Speaker 6: in the course of a day, take advantage of.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Every minute of that.
- 9:30Speaker 6: No human being has more than twenty four hours a day,
- 9:33Speaker 6: including myself.
- 9:35Speaker 1: But if you care about every single minute.
- 9:38Speaker 6: Of that day, you'll be amazed at how much you
- 9:41Speaker 6: could get accomplished in a twenty four hour day. But
- 9:44Speaker 6: you can't get none of that happening because you sleep,
- 9:48Speaker 6: and you chilling and you smoking. Okay, what has that
- 9:53Speaker 6: done for you, your family or your future? Care about
- 9:56Speaker 6: every minute of your day.
- 9:58Speaker 7: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Moore Show.
- 10:02Speaker 8: Ladies and gentlemen, Boys and girls, let me have your
- 10:04Speaker 8: divided attention. This is my very wide opening for the morning.
- 10:08Speaker 8: Want you to have a great time. Come on and
- 10:10Speaker 8: join in with us. Put your hand and hold somebody's
- 10:14Speaker 8: back and say hey, I love you. It's allow them
- 10:17Speaker 8: to say I love you, and together we can have
- 10:20Speaker 8: love in this world and this world will have more love.
- 10:24Speaker 6: Yeah, but that ain't working right now, so welcome to
- 10:26Speaker 6: the Steady Show. See where you get that from. I
- 10:31Speaker 6: don't know, just came to me, thought I'd do it.
- 10:34Speaker 6: Ain't no need of doing the same thing. It's a
- 10:36Speaker 6: new day, new chance, new opportunity, man, let's make the
- 10:39Speaker 6: best of it.
- 10:40Speaker 1: God is good. Yeah. Years.
- 10:42Speaker 6: Man, gratitude affects your altitude all the time, but it's
- 10:46Speaker 6: brought on by your attitude.
- 10:47Speaker 1: You got to get it together, baby. That's the world
- 10:49Speaker 1: we live in today.
- 10:50Speaker 6: Charlton Strawberry calling for real Mouth of the South, junior
- 10:54Speaker 6: boy and my man myself.
- 10:56Speaker 5: Yeah, happened to me.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I like that.
- 11:01Speaker 9: See like you know what I mean.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Sometimes they ain't got no cheerleader. Cheer for yourself. Yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 1: clap it up for you. So sometimes you gotta clap
- 11:10Speaker 1: it up for yourself.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:13Speaker 7: Like Snoop Dogg said, I don't want to thank you.
- 11:15Speaker 7: I want to thank me last, but not least.
- 11:18Speaker 9: I want to thank me.
- 11:20Speaker 7: Believe in yourself, love yourself.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Yeah, So tell you what's on your mind today.
- 11:26Speaker 7: I just said, are you feeling pretty good today?
- 11:29Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 11:29Speaker 7: Yeah, Yeah, sound good that.
- 11:33Speaker 6: I feel good every day, you know, whatever it is,
- 11:36Speaker 6: whatever it is, you know, some days have some few
- 11:39Speaker 6: more challenges in it than others.
- 11:40Speaker 1: And but I survived all of.
- 11:43Speaker 6: Them so far. This too shall pass, that's for sure. Yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 6: And I'm expecting great things that happen in my life. Man,
- 11:52Speaker 6: Gratitude check Yesterday, I really did hand it through a
- 11:54Speaker 6: gratitude check because what I found out was as humans,
- 11:58Speaker 6: and I find myself guilty of this offer. In my
- 12:02Speaker 6: quest to do better and be better, in my quest
- 12:06Speaker 6: to accomplish the next level and reach for more goals
- 12:10Speaker 6: and get higher and higher, I sometimes forget to have
- 12:15Speaker 6: the right level of gratitude for where I am. And
- 12:19Speaker 6: if you pursue the quest wholeheartedly with everything that's in you,
- 12:24Speaker 6: and it's constantly grind, grind, go, go, go, go go,
- 12:28Speaker 6: you will humanly forget to say thank you and be
- 12:33Speaker 6: grateful for where you are. And now you've negated your
- 12:37Speaker 6: opportunity Steve Harvey for further advancement. Because God, in his
- 12:41Speaker 6: infinite wisdom and supreme judgment, he's thinking, well, if he
- 12:47Speaker 6: ain't grateful for this, ain't no needing me over burdening
- 12:50Speaker 6: him with more? Or if you're complaining about your present condition,
- 12:57Speaker 6: could God be also saying, maybe I don't need to
- 13:00Speaker 6: put no more on them because this is causing so
- 13:03Speaker 6: much stress and problems. You know, Biggie said, more money,
- 13:07Speaker 6: more problems. But if you focus so much on the problems,
- 13:10Speaker 6: then maybe God won't give you more because he already
- 13:14Speaker 6: know you already complaining about this, right.
- 13:17Speaker 7: Okay, all right, something exactly what I was going to
- 13:23Speaker 7: ask you about that word out.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Look at God.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I'll do all right.
- 13:36Speaker 7: Coming up in thirty two minutes after the hour, we
- 13:38Speaker 7: got the nephew coming up to run that prank back.

- 15:10Speaker 3: My wife and my son they alive and that's you know,
- 15:13Speaker 3: that's the best thing.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Man.
- 15:14Speaker 11: So, you know, trying not to cousin something like this happened.
- 15:18Speaker 3: You know, I understand, man, you stay a couple of
- 15:21Speaker 3: streets over you say yeah, yeah, yeah, hey, hey, let
- 15:26Speaker 3: me let me let me say this to you. Man.
- 15:28Speaker 3: I want to say, first of all, I hate what happened,
- 15:30Speaker 3: you know what I mean? Yeah, man? And uh I
- 15:34Speaker 3: do man, you know and I'm glad you're your family
- 15:37Speaker 3: and so yeah, I say the man, Well, hey man,
- 15:42Speaker 3: can I just can I just say this here?
- 15:43Speaker 4: Man?
- 15:44Speaker 1: Uh?
- 15:45Speaker 3: And I don't really know how to say it, but.
- 15:49Speaker 7: I was.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I was with the two dudes that had broken there.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I was with them when they did that. Okay, you
- 15:57Speaker 3: did you just say you was with them that in
- 16:00Speaker 3: my house? Oh?
- 16:02Speaker 11: So you broke in my house?
- 16:04Speaker 3: Saying no, saying see, that's why I'm just to see
- 16:06Speaker 3: them cleans. That's what I'm I'm calling you trying to
- 16:09Speaker 3: tell you. I was trying to talk them out of it.
- 16:11Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, Well, what the happened?
- 16:14Speaker 11: Because they did this, I couldn't talk them out of it.
- 16:17Speaker 3: But you know I was who I was in there
- 16:19Speaker 3: taking nothing. That's what I'm saying. Okay, okay, okay, well
- 16:22Speaker 3: who was in there? Tation dead? But I can't I
- 16:24Speaker 3: can't be doing I can't do that. I can't see
- 16:26Speaker 3: I ain't trying to get in the middle of that. No, no, no,
- 16:29Speaker 3: you can't do that. You just call my phone.
- 16:32Speaker 11: Oh, you can tell me who broke in here?
- 16:34Speaker 3: You was one of the who I was. Wasn't with
- 16:36Speaker 3: you that that ain't that. That ain't even the reason
- 16:38Speaker 3: why I called. Man. I don't give a damn what
- 16:41Speaker 3: the reason you called me? You called me, I broke up?
- 16:45Speaker 3: Who who was with you? Who was with you? Man?
- 16:49Speaker 3: I'm matter of fact, what street you stay on? Let
- 16:52Speaker 3: me say this to you, man, This reason why I called.
- 16:55Speaker 3: And when we was in there and then they started
- 16:58Speaker 3: screaming and hollering at eachil and then saying we got
- 17:00Speaker 3: to hear him get out. You know, like I say,
- 17:03Speaker 3: I was in there trying to talk them out of that.
- 17:05Speaker 11: I don't give it if you tried to talk them
- 17:08Speaker 11: into it. You walk into my broken my house, you
- 17:13Speaker 11: got I'm my dance.
- 17:14Speaker 3: It to call me? Okay, but listen, man, listen, listen.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Listen to me, man. I'm listening to you for me.
- 17:20Speaker 3: While I was in there, man, and and you know
- 17:23Speaker 3: they was we was getting out of there in a hurry.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I actually left my uh my pills fell out my pocket,
- 17:30Speaker 3: my bottle of pills and my medicine and I don't
- 17:33Speaker 3: I don't got no more refills on it, man, and
- 17:35Speaker 3: I need my medicine. That's why I'm calling you to
- 17:37Speaker 3: see if you don't man me coming back over there
- 17:39Speaker 3: to get my peece. They don't give us about your medicine.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Who gives us? I tell you what I tell you.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I can ask me about some medicine. I was just
- 17:52Speaker 3: caught up in a bad situation.

- 22:03Speaker 7: the colo. Now, Steve, you ready?
- 22:05Speaker 9: Are you ready?
- 22:07Speaker 1: Stay ready?
- 22:08Speaker 7: All right, here we go. This one is from tab
- 22:10Speaker 7: in DC. Tab says, I'm forty nine and I'm dating
- 22:13Speaker 7: a man that's seventy four. Okay, he looks like he's
- 22:17Speaker 7: my age, and he's very athletic and energetic. We have
- 22:20Speaker 7: a big problem in the bedroom, and it's not what
- 22:23Speaker 7: you think. His problem is that he doesn't know when
- 22:26Speaker 7: to stop. The sex can go on for an hour
- 22:30Speaker 7: and I have to work, run errands and do other stuff,
- 22:32Speaker 7: so he needs to wrap it up sooner. He admitted
- 22:35Speaker 7: that he's on medication and a side effect is increased
- 22:39Speaker 7: sexual desire. He's called me a lightweight and said I'll
- 22:43Speaker 7: left to find someone else that is up to the challenge.
- 22:45Speaker 7: I hate it when he says stuff like that. Do
- 22:47Speaker 7: you think he's just joking.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Well, let's go over a couple of minutes.
- 22:53Speaker 3: For that.
- 22:56Speaker 1: First of all, the seventy four and last too long.
- 22:58Speaker 6: In medication, he's lost feeling in certain areas, So the
- 23:03Speaker 6: last and long is don't worry. He done lost a
- 23:06Speaker 6: lot of fear, he knows, so don't worry about that.
- 23:08Speaker 6: That all that hours and all that. Yeah, you know,
- 23:11Speaker 6: you know you need to pick up pay you a lightweight.
- 23:13Speaker 6: I need to give somebody else. And the other thing
- 23:15Speaker 6: you said was you forty nine and he's seventy four
- 23:18Speaker 6: and he look your age.
- 23:19Speaker 7: Now hold up, you're not going for he's athletic and energetic.
- 23:24Speaker 6: She says, he's seventy four and he look your age. Ah,
- 23:30Speaker 6: what he's seventy four and you look his age?
- 23:37Speaker 1: I think about that. See, I'll just say that, well
- 23:41Speaker 1: I looks at all of it.
- 23:42Speaker 6: When you asked me something, we'll here problems because he
- 23:45Speaker 6: might not be all that athletic and energetic. Just your
- 23:48Speaker 6: ass is older than forty nine physically, and maybe that's
- 23:53Speaker 6: what the problem is. Maybe you thinking he more than
- 23:57Speaker 6: he really is because you ain't what you say you are.
- 24:00Speaker 6: Let the church say, man, let's sometimes the answer is
- 24:05Speaker 6: in your own damn question.
- 24:07Speaker 7: I believe her.
- 24:10Speaker 6: Maybe she ain't athletics. She ought to get athletics. She
- 24:12Speaker 6: would be more like forty nine, most forty nine. Your
- 24:15Speaker 6: women still got it.
- 24:17Speaker 1: So she ain't.
- 24:20Speaker 6: Well he's seventy four. Well you got medication that increases
- 24:24Speaker 6: his that's viagra, that's what that is.
- 24:29Speaker 7: It increases your s What else?
- 24:31Speaker 6: What are it taking once again. If you have something else, sir,
- 24:35Speaker 6: please write in this show. This became another second man
- 24:40Speaker 6: because yesterday some dude took a shot.
- 24:43Speaker 7: Yeah, a strawberry letter, Yes, a.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Shot, and he wasn't going through that pain no more. Okay,
- 24:50Speaker 1: all right.
- 24:51Speaker 7: This one's from We're moving on. This one's from Delisa
- 24:54Speaker 7: in Chicago. She says, I'm a single female in my
- 24:57Speaker 7: late twenties and I'm a bartender. I met a new
- 24:59Speaker 7: guy in the bar. He was handsome and friendly and
- 25:02Speaker 7: always tipped.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Well.
- 25:03Speaker 7: He asked me on a date and we really hit
- 25:06Speaker 7: it off. He lives in an upscale building with a doorman,
- 25:09Speaker 7: and he drives a very nice car. I asked him
- 25:12Speaker 7: where he works, and he says he's a kept man
- 25:14Speaker 7: and his sugar mama lives in the suburbs. She's unhappily
- 25:17Speaker 7: married and very rich. He said he sees her only
- 25:21Speaker 7: twice a month and gets paid well. He asked me
- 25:24Speaker 7: if I had a problem with it, and I'm trying
- 25:26Speaker 7: to have an open mind, is this a deal breaker?
- 25:29Speaker 6: Well, he not finn to be yours. You know, you
- 25:32Speaker 6: can date him if you want to, you and your
- 25:34Speaker 6: late twin you can date him.
- 25:35Speaker 1: If you want to.
- 25:35Speaker 6: He told you he's a kept man. He not finna
- 25:38Speaker 6: be yours, and he not finn to be unkept. So
- 25:44Speaker 6: now you're not gonna get him. Let me explain some
- 25:47Speaker 6: t when a man open up and tell you that
- 25:51Speaker 6: it's for one reason and one reason only, to.
- 25:54Speaker 1: See if you were willing to go along with it.
- 25:57Speaker 6: He ain't got nothing invested in you, he ain't in
- 25:59Speaker 6: love with you, so now he just want to see
- 26:02Speaker 6: if you want to go along with it. You part
- 26:03Speaker 6: of the other part of the game. I can have
- 26:07Speaker 6: a woman that being a kept man, and I can
- 26:10Speaker 6: and I can get with this little young fine thing.
- 26:13Speaker 6: And you're finna be the young fine thing. And if
- 26:15Speaker 6: you go along with it, that's it. Is it a
- 26:17Speaker 6: deal breaker? Do you want to share your man? He
- 26:20Speaker 6: ain't your man anyway, but do you want to share
- 26:22Speaker 6: him with somebody else?
- 26:25Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 26:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not finna get a husband out of this here, jiggerlows,
- 26:30Speaker 1: All right, get lonely too, All right, here we go.
- 26:34Speaker 7: You're gonna love this name. Steve bertel burtail bertel in
- 26:44Speaker 7: burtell says, I'm a married man and I've been having
- 26:47Speaker 7: sex with my pastor's wife for about three weeks wet
- 26:53Speaker 7: a date before either of us got married. She's got
- 26:56Speaker 7: the best skills of any woman I've ever been with.
- 27:00Speaker 7: I made up all kinds of lies about the pastors,
- 27:03Speaker 7: so my wife wouldn't want to join the church, but
- 27:06Speaker 7: she did anyway, and she dragged me to the church
- 27:09Speaker 7: with her. I knew it would only be a matter
- 27:13Speaker 7: of time before the first lady got under my skin
- 27:17Speaker 7: because we can't resist each other. I lovely wife, but

- 27:41Speaker 6: I get her out of my system?
- 27:43Speaker 4: Uh?
- 27:44Speaker 6: Huh?
- 27:44Speaker 1: He'd asked you nothing about know how could I stop

- 28:00Speaker 7: What what is he gonna tell his wife about the church?
- 28:04Speaker 7: Tell his wife church about why they're leaving the church?
- 28:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:09Speaker 6: No, his wife gonna find out no, he gotta quit
- 28:12Speaker 6: going over to see her. His wife gonna find out.

- 31:20Speaker 4: to ask you what exactly what makes you qualify for
- 31:23Speaker 4: this job? Well, having had several jobs before that gave
- 31:27Speaker 4: me the experience of exact thing that you folks are
- 31:31Speaker 4: looking for. It's pretty much made me qualified. And you know,
- 31:37Speaker 4: everybody that I've ever worked with have always said I
- 31:40Speaker 4: was really just overqualified.
- 31:43Speaker 7: Here, let me ask you something on mister Harvey. Why

- 31:51Speaker 1: Oh god, it's so difficult that you bought this up?

- 33:06Speaker 4: mister Harvey. You know, a job like this, you're going
- 33:09Speaker 4: to be working with a lot of people. You're going

- 33:23Speaker 6: It doesn't take much, we see. Yeah, I interact with
- 33:29Speaker 6: people from time to time. You know, it's just talking
- 33:32Speaker 6: about it sort of gets me.
- 33:35Speaker 1: You know, I'm fine, I'm fine with other people.
- 33:38Speaker 7: Well, mister Harvey, this is a sales position we're looking
- 33:44Speaker 7: to hire you for, and we just want to make
- 33:46Speaker 7: sure that you're the right person. As Thomas mentioned earlier,
- 33:50Speaker 7: you have the right qualifications for this position. You have
- 33:54Speaker 7: to interact with people, you have to sell our product,
- 33:58Speaker 7: and you know, people by you first before they even

- 34:11Speaker 7: it's it's not really.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Just I don't cry. I got a question for you.

- 34:23Speaker 1: like you do. I'm out of work. I'm crying because
- 34:28Speaker 1: I'm out of work.
- 34:29Speaker 7: Yeah, there's no crying at work.
- 34:31Speaker 3: I don't want.
- 34:32Speaker 9: I don't not hear yet.
- 34:35Speaker 5: How do you harm me?
- 34:35Speaker 1: I can stop you cry. Two of you want? What
- 34:50Speaker 1: are your strengths?
- 34:51Speaker 7: Let's talk about something positive in.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I can absolutely together. That's one of my structures. I

- 43:43Speaker 6: of fouling or the gratuatrichness and the barbariousness of what.
- 43:50Speaker 1: These holidays are too. That's why we celebrate quonsa.
- 43:55Speaker 14: But I dare say, though, brother, you don't want if
- 44:00Speaker 14: we hold that titulate the situation, knowing that it is
- 44:05Speaker 14: far regarically not a capability of scientific split. Let let
- 44:11Speaker 14: me interject some sensibility into this conversation.

- 56:19Speaker 7: Subject It's time for a change. Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm
- 56:23Speaker 7: a board certified registered nurse, and I was raised in
- 56:25Speaker 7: public housing by my aunt because my mother had me
- 56:29Speaker 7: when she was sixteen. After I graduated from high school,
- 56:32Speaker 7: I found out my aunt was sleeping with my boyfriend,
- 56:36Speaker 7: so I beat her up and spent time in juvenile detention.
- 56:39Speaker 7: From that point on, I was told that I wouldn't
- 56:41Speaker 7: amount to anything. I beat the odds and I got
- 56:44Speaker 7: a nursing degree. I'm thirty years old and I just
- 56:47Speaker 7: bought my first house not far from where I grew up.
- 56:51Speaker 7: All of my female friends from high school are still
- 56:53Speaker 7: fighting over the same men and working two and three
- 56:56Speaker 7: jobs to pay the bills. We still have house parties
- 56:59Speaker 7: and go on the vacations, but I usually pay most
- 57:02Speaker 7: of the expenses when we plan anything. I have been
- 57:06Speaker 7: dating the same guy for ten years, and I'm really
- 57:09Speaker 7: proud of the man he's become I've been patient with
- 57:13Speaker 7: him while he completes his degree, but I don't think
- 57:15Speaker 7: he's taking classes right now. When I evaluate where I
- 57:19Speaker 7: am and who I associate with, I get sad. At work,
- 57:23Speaker 7: I'm a different person. I get to talk to the
- 57:26Speaker 7: other shift nurses and doctors, and it's a different world
- 57:29Speaker 7: than what I live. And when I go home, my
- 57:33Speaker 7: boyfriend loves to say I'm different and I talk proper.
- 57:37Speaker 7: When I'm at work, I am aware that I'm two
- 57:39Speaker 7: different people, and I enjoy the progressive side of life
- 57:42Speaker 7: more so than the one I grew up in. The
- 57:46Speaker 7: more I hang with my girls on the weekend and
- 57:48Speaker 7: we drink till three am, the more I know that
- 57:51Speaker 7: I'm growing them. I'm ready to walk away from everything
- 57:55Speaker 7: that's familiar in my life. But I can't do this anymore.
- 58:00Speaker 7: Am I being a sellout if I pull away from
- 58:02Speaker 7: my friends? Am I supposed to keep waiting for my
- 58:05Speaker 7: boyfriend to get himself all the way together? Is there
- 58:07Speaker 7: a way to distance myself respectfully?
- 58:11Speaker 10: Wow?
- 58:11Speaker 7: If anyone needs a change in their life, I would
- 58:13Speaker 7: say it would be you. And those of us who
- 58:16Speaker 7: have lived and have some experience at life. We will
- 58:19Speaker 7: definitely tell you that the one constant in life is
- 58:22Speaker 7: change and we can't avoid it because it's going to
- 58:25Speaker 7: happen whether we want it to or not. And guess
- 58:29Speaker 7: what what you're feeling and what you're going through right now,
- 58:31Speaker 7: that's a good thing. You distance yourself by trying new things,
- 58:35Speaker 7: different things, and staying busy. That's how you do it respectfully.
- 58:39Speaker 3: And you can say no.
- 58:40Speaker 7: It's okay to say no if you don't want to
- 58:43Speaker 7: do stuff with them like hanging out and drinking till
- 58:45Speaker 7: three a m. You know that's not what you do anymore.
- 58:48Speaker 7: Change means growth, and you already said that you are
- 58:52Speaker 7: out growing them. You feel it, you see it, and
- 58:55Speaker 7: that's okay. Trust me. You will not be the first
- 58:58Speaker 7: one to get a new circle of friends, and it's
- 59:01Speaker 7: nothing wrong with that. You should accept and embrace it
- 59:03Speaker 7: where it's taking you. This is your path, now, your journey.
- 59:06Speaker 7: You're on your journey. You're not a sellout, and don't
- 59:09Speaker 7: let them try to make you think you're a sellout
- 59:11Speaker 7: because you want to move up and move on and
- 59:14Speaker 7: move differently. They just don't want you to outshine them,
- 59:18Speaker 7: all right, that's where that hate would be coming from.
- 59:21Speaker 7: You're thirty. Now, what is your man doing besides putting
- 59:24Speaker 7: you down? Talking about you talk proper and you're different.
- 59:27Speaker 7: Now you said he's not even in school taking classes,
- 59:30Speaker 7: so you have no idea when or if he's going
- 59:33Speaker 7: to finish. I say, stop wasting your time. Go ahead
- 59:37Speaker 7: and live your life. Please, don't waste any more of
- 59:41Speaker 7: your time with your hating friends. You have to pay
- 59:44Speaker 7: for everything with them anyway. What is that about that
- 59:48Speaker 7: says to me that they're users letting you pay for everything?
- 59:51Speaker 7: That's not right? So if they don't appreciate the change
- 59:54Speaker 7: in you, that doesn't ignite like something in them to
- 59:57Speaker 7: be better, I think there are plenty other people out
- 59:59Speaker 7: there that will. I just say, go on, live your life,
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: be great.
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: Steve, all right, the subject is this time for a chain.
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: Let me say this about Shirley's response. Every single word
- 1:00:14Speaker 6: Shirley Strawberry just said was one thousand percent through period.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: There's no.
- 1:00:22Speaker 6: Getting around what she told you. Nothing like this, but
- 1:00:26Speaker 6: sometimes you have to hear it a different way. Now,
- 1:00:30Speaker 6: what Shirley did was she told you exactly right. I
- 1:00:33Speaker 6: hope you hear that because she told you almost in
- 1:00:38Speaker 6: a way where your new better and more improved side
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: could understand and take it in.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: So, since Shirley has so eloquently.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: Done that for the new, improved, new you, I'm gonna
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: talk to you as to oh you, so you can
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: get both sides. You can pick which one you not.
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: I want you to understand. I'm gonna say the exact same.
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: Ain't thank Shirley just said. But we're gonna take the
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: other route. Let's break the letter down.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: I'm a board certified registered nurse. I was raised in
- 1:01:10Speaker 6: public housing by my aunt because my mother had me.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: When she was sixteen.
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: After I graduated from high school, I found out my
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: mon was sleeping with my boyfriend, so I beat her
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: up and I had to spend time in juvenile detention.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Okay, great, let's break this down.
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: Your mama had you ally, you moved here with your aunt.
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: Your aunt was you know, tricky. You found out she
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: slept with your boyfriend. You whooped your aunt ass.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Yep, this is what happened. That sums it up.
- 1:01:38Speaker 6: Now you jumped on her real good because you got
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: charges pressed and now you done went down to juvie.
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: Now you were told that you would never amount to anything,
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: and then you beat the odds you got out. You
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: rows above your circumstances. You did exactly that. You have
- 1:01:58Speaker 6: a nursing degree, thirty years old, and you just bought
- 1:02:01Speaker 6: your first house not far from where I grew up.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: That was the mistake. Huh. You bought your first house
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: not far from where you grew up.
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: That was your first mistake, because now it has kept
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: you too close to your past. And I hate to
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: tell y' all this, but the antig in the hood,
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: you got to keep it real. The real answer should be,
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: you got to keep it moving.
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: I'll bang on a state with why. Yeah, hang on,
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: we'll have part two of your response coming up at
- 1:02:37Speaker 7: twenty three minutes after today's Strawberry letter subject it's time
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: for a change. We'll get back into it right after this.
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Hey, this is your boy nephew.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: Tell me. Entering a new year is the perfect time
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: to prioritize your safety. Meet the Burner left lethal launcher
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: equipped with tear gas and kinetic rounds. It has sixty
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: foot reins, giving you the ability to stop threats in
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: their tracks without deadly force. Bernard is legaling off fifty states.

- 1:03:18Speaker 4: for your ten percent discount.
- 1:03:21Speaker 7: All right, come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter.
- 1:03:24Speaker 7: The subject it's time for a change.
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: Young girl who's thirty year old woman is writing this
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: letter had a very similar pass to a lot of people.
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: Her mother was young when she had a that's not
- 1:03:35Speaker 6: a problem or sin. Are you raised by your aunt?
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: And then you found out when you graduate from.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: High school you' aren't was sleeping with your born friend.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: So you beat that ad.
- 1:03:45Speaker 6: You had spend some time down in Julie, and from
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: that point on you was told you wasn't amount to anything.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: And then you did what so many of us have done.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: You beat the odds. You got a nursing degree, You're
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: thirty years old, you just bought your first house. Here's
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: a problem. Not far from Ala.
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: I grew up right around them, very same people that
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: said you would never amount to anything. All your female
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: friends from high school are still fighting over the same
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: inn and working two at.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Three jobs to pay the bills.
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: All my female friends from high school are still fighting
- 1:04:17Speaker 6: over the same men and working two three jobs.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Pay the bills. I'm gonna save my next statement.
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: We still have house parties, go on vacations, but I
- 1:04:25Speaker 6: usually pay most of the expenses when we plan anything.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Shirley said it this way. You need a new group
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: of friends.
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: Why is your ass trying to hang on to something
- 1:04:37Speaker 6: that is not providing a benefit to you. You know why,
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: because you are suffering from what so many people use
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: as an emotion that has turned out to be the
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: most useless emotion in the world, and it is called guilt.
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: Stop suffering from guilt because it's a useless emotion. It
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: serves nobody any purpose except the person who's applying the guilt,
- 1:04:59Speaker 6: and the guilt is being applied by your friends since
- 1:05:02Speaker 6: they can't afford to do nothing you can.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: You got to pay for it. You need some new
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: damn friends. Here we go, but I usually pay for
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: most of dispensive.
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: I have been dating the same guy for ten years,
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: and I'm really proud of the man he's become. I've
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: been patient with him while he completes his agreement. I
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: don't think he's taking classes right now. And when I
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: elevate where I am and who I associate with, I
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: get sad. You are now sad with where you've gotten yourself,
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: because where you've gotten remains to stay too close to
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: where you're from. Once again, the antig in the hood
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: of you got to keep it real, the antig is
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: really you got to keep it moving so you have time.
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: Try to stay true to your roots. When your roots
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: is sick, your roots are poisoned. Your root is gonna
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: hinder and thraught the development of your growth as a
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: plant because you're trying to stay true to your roots. Well,
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: your roots ain't moving, They ain't any good salt, they
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: ain't being fertilized or nothing. Now you got the same
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: guy for ten years. You proud of the man he's become,
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: but you don't think he in classes right, You don't
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: even know what he's doing. So now your association, if
- 1:06:20Speaker 6: you continue to associate, you remember the saying association brings
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: on participation. If you keep hanging with them, guess what
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: you keep doing what them is doing? So now you're
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: throwing house parties and.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: You drink it. What what's the benefit.
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: At work? I'm a different person. I get to talk
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: to the other shift nurses. Oh, you get to talk
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: with people who are like minded. Oh okay, you could
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: talk to other shift nurses and doctors. And it's a
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: different world than when I live in. When I go home,
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: that's because you brought your home in the wrong place.
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: You now, you ain't got to keep it real, You
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: got to keep it moving. And this is not an
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: anti hood statement, because all the great things in my
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: life is from the hood. I couldn't stay there and
- 1:07:08Speaker 6: elevate at the same time. So Number one, you need
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: to think about that. My boyfriend loves to say I'm
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: different than I talk proper when I'm at work. I'm
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: aware that I'm two different people, and I enjoy the progressive.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Side of my life more than one. I grew up here.
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: It's because you this time for you to grow up
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: and to move on. Some people are in your life
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: for a season. There are a lot of people in
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: your life that are seasonal people. Everybody come with you
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: can't go with you. You've got to stop trying to
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: hang on to your past when it's thwarting your future.
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: You can't keep hanging out with what you used to
- 1:07:46Speaker 6: be when God has something clearly he wants you to be.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: But you have the power of choice.
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: So hanging on to what you used to be is
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: prohibiting you from fully reaching the potential.
- 1:07:58Speaker 9: Of what you could be.
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: I'm not ready to walk away from everything that's familiar
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: in my life. Then cool, stay down, thwart your growth,
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: continue not to grow, go to house parties, drank to
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: three o'clock in the morning. They the man that ain't
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: moving forward. That's tripping on you because you different and
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: you enjoy the difference. But you ain't ready to walk
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: away from everything that's familiar with you. If you stay
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: in your comfort zone, that's where you're gonna fail.
- 1:08:24Speaker 7: That's true. Say that again.
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: If you stay in your comfort zone, that's where you
- 1:08:29Speaker 6: will fail. Success is not in your comfort zone. It's
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: on the other side. And if you want to be successful,
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: you got to get out your comfort zone and prepare
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: yourself to get uncomfortable.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Am I being a sellout? If I pull out from
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: my friend? Hell?
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: Now, you ain't being a sellout. It's called moved out. Yeah,
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: you ain't nonna sell out. You moved out. Am I
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: supposed to keep waiting for my boyfriend get himself all
- 1:09:00Speaker 6: the way together? Is that way to distance myself respectfully. No,
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: the way you just yourself respectfully is that you you
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: stop hanging with them. Stop, lady, you know them nothing.
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: They're going to say. Keep it real to you. They
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: gonna say you a sellout.
- 1:09:20Speaker 10: All.
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: You can stay there and regret it the rest of
- 1:09:23Speaker 6: your life, or you can go and move on and
- 1:09:26Speaker 6: see what God has for you.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: You ain't finna be less black ws.

- 1:11:21Speaker 13: You can use the for a chapter one, just because
- 1:11:24Speaker 13: you got a big house, they think they can show.
- 1:11:26Speaker 9: Up and stay for free.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: That's chapter one, Oh man.
- 1:11:32Speaker 13: That that that chapter two, I kind of get into
- 1:11:35Speaker 13: some personal stuff that they think your house is storage.
- 1:11:39Speaker 13: Let me put something in your garage for a couple
- 1:11:41Speaker 13: of days. I mean it's been in the eight months now,
- 1:11:45Speaker 13: it ain't moved. You know, it's the old good. I
- 1:11:49Speaker 13: don't even know what it is myself. I ain't live
- 1:11:51Speaker 13: it up.
- 1:11:52Speaker 9: I don't know that.
- 1:11:53Speaker 13: Chapter three, Okay, this is if you have a big house. Ah,
- 1:11:57Speaker 13: ken folks get confused in my new book. Sometimes can
- 1:12:00Speaker 13: folking with for damn? And you can use the S word.
- 1:12:02Speaker 13: They think they think you're the daddy.
- 1:12:05Speaker 9: What they don't.
- 1:12:06Speaker 13: Understand is you're the granddaddy, not the daddy'd Yeah, some
- 1:12:12Speaker 13: of those problems personal.
- 1:12:15Speaker 9: This is personal. Some of those problems you need to
- 1:12:17Speaker 9: go to the daddy, not the granddaddy. You need to
- 1:12:21Speaker 9: go right to the daddy.
- 1:12:23Speaker 13: Okay, Oh listen, chapter if you my book, My new
- 1:12:27Speaker 13: book calls sometimes ken folks are with for damn or
- 1:12:30Speaker 13: you can use the S word.
- 1:12:32Speaker 9: You think you're a bad guy if you don't babysit.
- 1:12:35Speaker 9: I don't babysit. Okay.
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: I smoke things.
- 1:12:39Speaker 9: I do things that around kids.
- 1:12:43Speaker 13: And and when you come back, he's gonna have a
- 1:12:46Speaker 13: whole different attitude if you leave him here.
- 1:12:48Speaker 9: Okay, Henna, he gonna be little, he's gonna be hungry,
- 1:12:53Speaker 9: he's gonna be sleeping.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna come pick up a little.
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: You're gonna do what you do in my new book.
- 1:13:05Speaker 9: In my new book.
- 1:13:05Speaker 13: Sometimes can't puggle with a dam or you can use
- 1:13:08Speaker 13: the S word. They think you are finance coming in.
- 1:13:14Speaker 13: That's my book. That's several chapters in the NFBL soon.
- 1:13:18Speaker 13: Sometimes can't pull it with dam, but you can use
- 1:13:20Speaker 13: the S word. Check it out on a new book.
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: Yet that's gonna be a best seller.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: It's no.
- 1:13:26Speaker 7: He love. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:13:31Speaker 7: Go small with your goals. Seventy five percent of people
- 1:13:34Speaker 7: make at least one resolution a year, but a new
- 1:13:37Speaker 7: survey found that respondents would rather kick off their goals
- 1:13:40Speaker 7: gradually than jump in head first. Almost half of those
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: surveyed also said they'd rather concentrate on long term goals,
- 1:13:48Speaker 7: with twenty seven percent saying they wanted to focus on
- 1:13:51Speaker 7: short term ones. So, Steve, you're a motivational speaker. You
- 1:13:55Speaker 7: motivate people all the time. What do you think should
- 1:13:59Speaker 7: people continue you to make big resolutions at the first
- 1:14:02Speaker 7: of the year or should they go small with their goals?
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: I disagree with that one thousand percent. I don't understand.
- 1:14:09Speaker 6: There's no winning in small. There's no winning in small.
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: I mean, look, what they're trying to say is but
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: everything they're saying is preparing you for failure. It's assuming
- 1:14:20Speaker 6: that ain't no need of you thinking big because you
- 1:14:22Speaker 6: ain't gonna get big. Now that, right, there is a
- 1:14:25Speaker 6: negative connotation to me. You know, remember this, aim for
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: the moon. In case you miss, you'll still be amongst
- 1:14:35Speaker 6: the stars. But if you aiming for the fire hydrant,
- 1:14:38Speaker 6: then you miss, you down in the damn dirt. See
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: that's the problem with people passing out advice to people.
- 1:14:45Speaker 6: I'm just against small thinking because it costs you no
- 1:14:49Speaker 6: more to think big than it does to think small.
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: If you say Volkswagon and Rose Royce, it don't take
- 1:14:56Speaker 6: no more energy, right, it's Votswagon is Rose Royce. Man, y'all,
- 1:15:01Speaker 6: don't let people convince you to take the small approach,
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: because then all you can ever get is small results.
- 1:15:12Speaker 6: I'm just not a proponent that. Now, what they're trying
- 1:15:14Speaker 6: to say is, don't disappoint yourself. You go to it
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: and you don't get it.
- 1:15:22Speaker 7: Expectation, it's just so high.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Back to me, I just don't like you manage your expectations.
- 1:15:33Speaker 10: See.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Now, look, either you don't be a person of faith
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: or you ain't.
- 1:15:37Speaker 10: Give people advice though, how to think big and how
- 1:15:41Speaker 10: to not be not to hold themselves back with that
- 1:15:45Speaker 10: type of thinking if you've never okay, here'll set that
- 1:15:48Speaker 10: kind of goal for yourself.
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: Well, here's here's a deal. Here's something I learned, and
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: I taught this to myself.
- 1:15:56Speaker 6: It is impossible to think an impossible thought. That's not possible.
- 1:16:04Speaker 6: It is possible to think an impossible thought. Well, okay,
- 1:16:12Speaker 6: then how did you think it?
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Though?
- 1:16:14Speaker 6: If it's impossible, how did you think it? And that's
- 1:16:19Speaker 6: what you've got to incorporate into your thinking. Man, it
- 1:16:22Speaker 6: is impossible to think about you tell somebody, man, I
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: had this crazy idea. Man, I don't see how. I
- 1:16:28Speaker 6: know you don't see how, but I'm telling you I
- 1:16:30Speaker 6: saw it. And that's how. Imagination is given to you.
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: And what we don't realize as people is that our
- 1:16:37Speaker 6: imagination is given to us by God. God places what
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: he has for you in your imagination. Albert Einstein once said,
- 1:16:46Speaker 6: imagination is everything. It's the preview to life's coming attractions.
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: That's just a fact. So what God does is he
- 1:16:56Speaker 6: places the life he has for you in your imagination.
- 1:17:00Speaker 6: The problem we have is we tell our imagination to
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: the wrong people. Because if you want to kill a
- 1:17:05Speaker 6: big dream, tell it to a small minded person. And
- 1:17:09Speaker 6: all of us have done that. God has shown us
- 1:17:13Speaker 6: something incredible in our imagination. We took it to our
- 1:17:16Speaker 6: friends and loved ones and they shot it down. I
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: don't see how you gonna do that. Well, I know
- 1:17:21Speaker 6: you don't see it because God didn't show it to you.
- 1:17:25Speaker 6: He showed it to me. And I'm gonna trust on
- 1:17:29Speaker 6: that fact. Right there. If I thought small, there's no
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: way I get here today. All you got to do
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: is start thinking big. Does a book I recommend to
- 1:17:39Speaker 6: everybody by David Schwartz David Schultz, The Magic of Thinking Big.
- 1:17:44Speaker 6: Go buy that book. It's all written off. All self
- 1:17:47Speaker 6: help books have written off concepts of the Bible. Anyway,
- 1:17:49Speaker 6: a man is as he thinks. If you think you're small,
- 1:17:52Speaker 6: you're fit to be small.
- 1:17:54Speaker 7: I love it, all right, Thank you, you are a
- 1:17:57Speaker 7: motivational speaker.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 1:18:00Speaker 7: This is Shirley Strawberry and Tims the season for happiness
- 1:18:04Speaker 7: and love and giving and family, Happy Holidays from the
- 1:18:09Speaker 7: Steve Harvey Morning Shows. All right, so do you guys
- 1:18:13Speaker 7: love spicy food.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: I like, yeah.
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: I don't like hot.
- 1:18:16Speaker 7: I don't like hot hot hot.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: I like that, and there's a difference.
- 1:18:19Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah. According to a survey by Frank's Red
- 1:18:23Speaker 7: Hot Sauce, people who like things hot see themselves as
- 1:18:28Speaker 7: hot and more attractive than others.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Is that true? See, I see myself as spicy. I
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: don't see that. I think I'm spicy. I don't know hot.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: I don't think. I think I'm very spicy.
- 1:18:43Speaker 10: I don't like my food where I can't enjoy it.
- 1:18:47Speaker 10: You know, if it's too hot hot, you know it's spicy.
- 1:18:51Speaker 10: Now I'm married to a man from New Orleans, so
- 1:18:53Speaker 10: everything has to be spicy.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: I mean spicy ice cream, I mean everything.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: You know, you.
- 1:19:03Speaker 7: Never know when the water is now, I'd be like,
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: everything has to be spicy.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: I'm me.
- 1:19:10Speaker 7: Does he think he's hot?
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: Okay, well he just sees us.
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: He just proved our point.
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: Then the point of the story.
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: He just proved it.
- 1:19:17Speaker 7: The survey also showed that the hot people see themselves
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: as adventurous, creative, and confident too. So does that describe
- 1:19:24Speaker 7: Tosh absolutely junior hot or spicy?
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: Oh no, I'm spicy I'm spicy, you know. I can't
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: like that.
- 1:19:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I like spicy foods, you know, but because you
- 1:19:37Speaker 6: gotta have flavor into spicy.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Yes, that best thing. I like that hot with my
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: mop on. Fine, give me some water. I'm not doing that.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: I'm not doing that.
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: But you're supposed to drink milk, they say, not even whatever.
- 1:19:48Speaker 7: All right, thank you you, and you're coming up more

- 1:21:13Speaker 6: that probably ain't gonna happen. Certain I'm telling you right now.

- 1:21:49Speaker 1: just none wronging hot? Yeah? Just rest and cut that
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: center fan off.
- 1:21:57Speaker 6: Let me ask you something, why you think it ain't
- 1:22:00Speaker 6: that many eskimos?
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: How many eskimos? Is it out hard to find a
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: ass every nine?
- 1:22:06Speaker 15: Then?
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: How many eskimos? Lem? Honey, nothing home black and no
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: black eskimo?
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Movie, we had eleven thousand lived in Garden Valley projects.
- 1:22:27Speaker 7: All right, keeping with that same kind of theme, would
- 1:22:30Speaker 7: you rather cuddle in the morning or would you rather
- 1:22:33Speaker 7: cuddle at night? I know, I know how men are
- 1:22:39Speaker 7: with the cuddling situation.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: Cuddling to get off me. I'm not.
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: Under a degree.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Why do we have a king size bed if we're
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: not gonna use the spread? Get on your.
- 1:22:58Speaker 7: My side, Junior. Haven't heard from you on this one.
