Transcript
- 0:00G'day. That's right, it's that time again. Time for Cinema Eugen.
- 0:15Yes, welcome back Cinema Eugen Kent Hill or flying by my Megaforce codename
- 0:22today, Wombat. I welcome back Bob Lindenmeyer.
- 0:27Just over a year ago now, I spoke to Bob and Barry Botswick,
- 0:32otherwise known as Ace Hunter, about making Megaforce.
- 0:35Well, I've had a chance to see Making Megaforce and review it for FilmThread.
- 0:40Link for it will be in the description.
- 0:43Bob and I are back together talking about making Megaforce the most compelling,
- 0:50inspiring, awesome comprehensive awesomely
- 0:54comprehensive documentary about the making of megaforce and also the incredible
- 1:01irreverent insatiable and delicious friendship between bob and barry i'm very
- 1:09pleased to have seen the film i can't wait for you to see it coming out in june,
- 1:15official premiere in June.
- 1:18Can't wait for you to see Making Megaforce. So this week, please,
- 1:23ladies and gentlemen, Yugenites, welcome back to Cinema Yugen,
- 1:27Bob Lindenmayer, or Speeder, as he's also a name.
- 1:32Hey, Ken, thanks for having me back. It's a privilege. I just figured out my,
- 1:36last night I figured out my Megaforce name, code name.
- 1:41I reckon it should be Wombat.
- 1:43Very good. You're Speeder. I'm Wombat.
- 1:48All right. Be sure to add that in the special credits. And we've got Ace. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:55I thought it was great when you sent me the film.
- 1:59Initially, the passcode didn't work, and it wasn't until I watched the film
- 2:03and I was like, oh, Speeder, that's cute.
- 2:08That's my physical digiforce name. That's beautiful. It was fun when we were
- 2:14filming, Barry gave everybody in the crew their own Megaforce names.
- 2:21So some of them are not. So that particular part, was that after you found that out?
- 2:28When you sat down at that particular point and said, I want a Megaforce name?
- 2:33That was a recreation of an actual conversation that we had. Oh, okay. Right, right.
- 2:39Yeah. It was beautiful. it didn't say it
- 2:42didn't seem that way it did come it came across very
- 2:45very very such a great actor
- 2:48and i'm just fumbling around behind him the whole time hey
- 2:52just getting off topic at the moment is that the actual sword
- 2:56from flash gordon in the background there yeah yeah
- 2:59that's fantastic yeah and there's
- 3:02war rocket ajax and a
- 3:05hawkman helmet back there awesome you've got
- 3:08so much cool stuff you've got maximilian in your shed too is
- 3:11that a replica or a yeah it's a replica i built
- 3:14him by myself it's funny in the background i'm sure
- 3:17you noticed in the background of the film you can see him in different stages
- 3:21when it's in my shot yeah no it's awesome sorry to get off get off different
- 3:27films but yeah i just oh we can do a whole black hole thing too if you wanted
- 3:30yeah it's awesome it's awesome no because i you know after you watch a film a couple of times i
- 3:37once i've sort of ingested the narrative to
- 3:40do the review i start to pay attention to stuff
- 3:43that's in the background and i was like wow he's
- 3:46got that and he's got a star crash poster and wow look at that it's pretty yeah
- 3:51no i'm uh yeah i'm steeped uh i'm trapped in my youth obviously i know and and
- 3:58and you know due to the state of films our youth isn't going to go away Like, Bob,
- 4:03it's all over the place.
- 4:06It's been ripped up and remade. The 80s are never going to die, it seems like.
- 4:11Yeah, yeah, 100%, 100% for sure. I mean, at what point do you think they're
- 4:15going to get around to, like, saying, well, we should remake Megaforce?
- 4:20Yeah, well, I mean, it's funny you should mention that, you know,
- 4:23the South Park guys, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, are huge megaforce.
- 4:28Oh, really? Okay. Yeah, and when I was interviewing Albert Reddy.
- 4:32You know, Godfather in a Smoky Man, he said, yeah, I was at this big awards
- 4:36ceremony at the Oscars for my Lifetime Achievement Award, and Trey Parker walked
- 4:42up to me and said, you made the most important film in history.
- 4:46And albert he said oh well
- 4:48i was assuming he was talking about the godfather and then
- 4:51trey said megaforce that's awesome
- 4:54and they were actually trying to get their rights to remake
- 4:58megaforce and were not able to so they did
- 5:01team america instead oh okay wow
- 5:04so there you go so that's a direct result there
- 5:07you go of that and now
- 5:10the film is out i've shipped it shipped
- 5:13it out to all uh those south park
- 5:16guys's handlers so hopefully okay they can
- 5:20see the film and and maybe we'll slide them
- 5:23in for an interview and everything like that uh
- 5:25yeah well hopefully i won't be
- 5:28remaking megaforce if if this if this movie
- 5:31sticks to the walls enough i think i'm the guy to make it
- 5:35properly so it's still funny but still has
- 5:38some reverence uh it's it's
- 5:40it's unusual how that happens like you know George Lucas wanted to do Flash
- 5:44Gordon but couldn't so ended up doing Star Wars and exactly exactly and all
- 5:49that sort of thing it's it's it's it's it's it's weird that the films that either
- 5:55inspire us inspire us to go off and somehow.
- 5:59Recreate that but our version or in your case go back and and re-examine the
- 6:06the watch so to speak like you know when you see a watchmaker take a watch uh
- 6:12apart and look at all the pieces,
- 6:15exactly exactly yeah that was the big you know
- 6:18that was kind of the big conceit if right
- 6:22like obviously the story of bob me
- 6:25the director in the film right he wants to
- 6:27be he wants to be in megaforce and of course like what
- 6:30kid didn't want to be in star wars or megaforce and you
- 6:35know and interviewing all these all these people you know
- 6:38their stories were just so fascinating and and i really
- 6:41decided it's like okay i'm going to
- 6:44try to do my version of
- 6:47literally every moment in the film short
- 6:50of skydiving because i got a heights thing um if
- 6:53i if i could if i could have got barry up into a plane we would
- 6:56have done that but but yeah but anything
- 6:59else right like through the film whether it was you know
- 7:01riding a motorcycle or a dean buggy or
- 7:04even you know one of my favorite scenes in
- 7:07in my film is when barry and i are doing
- 7:11the acting scene with the big hot pink background
- 7:14right because uh you know i really wanted to
- 7:17like have a dramatic scene with very because there's dramatic
- 7:20scenes in megaforce right so that
- 7:23was i had a punch list of of everything i
- 7:25needed to do to legitimize myself actually being.
- 7:29In in megaforce have you
- 7:32seen the jared hess film gentleman broncos i've heard
- 7:36of it i have not seen it is it adjacent to that i think i think if you watch
- 7:41it and then watch your film you'll see some some very very cute little parallels
- 7:46especially involving uh i won't give it away i won't spoil it but when you make little uh,
- 7:53The bits where you do the trying to recreate some of the stuff on Megaforce and you use models. Yes.
- 8:04You'll see parallels of that if you watch it.
- 8:09Oh, brilliant. Yeah, yeah. Which is kind of sweet based on the end of your film,
- 8:16which I will not give away for local money.
- 8:18But, yeah, if you watch Gentleman Broncos, you'll see lots of cute little, you'll go, oh, yeah.
- 8:25Oh, my. That's nice. Yeah. I mean, that was one of the big thing, right?
- 8:28Like, I got Barry Bostwick's, he actually had a photo album from the production.
- 8:35So, like, most of the vintage stills in my film are from that, right?
- 8:41And they're actually, they shot a making of Megaforce television special. Okay.
- 8:48Which has been lost to time. I've shaken every tree I can to find it.
- 8:53I really thought it was important to show some of the archival footage.
- 8:58I was just like, well, it's my movie. I'll just make it up.
- 9:01Of course, I don't have a C-130 or B-25 camera plane here, so I just did it all in models.
- 9:08There's a lot of,
- 9:10yeah fun like recreation stuff
- 9:13like hal needham's motorcycle accident right that
- 9:17we show in the film like that was a complete recreation you
- 9:21know with my son again just so you know i really wanted the documentary to be
- 9:27like pretty lively and not a bunch of you know the photos are amazing but after
- 9:33after a while it's like oh you kind of want to see some you know megaforce is such a visual moving,
- 9:38movie i felt like i really needed to keep that kind of
- 9:41kinetic sure sure but but
- 9:44i mean the the revelation that comes out about it and and like i said uh in
- 9:48my review that kurt vonnegut documentary really stuck with me after i i watched
- 9:53it because at some point it stops being about kurt vonnegut and his writing
- 9:58and it's just this friendship between the filmmaker and the,
- 10:02subject exactly which is which is
- 10:05you know i mean yes you if you're a fan of the film you want all
- 10:08of the the nuance and all
- 10:11the the details but the the
- 10:14friendship side of it is is the unexpected is really the unexpected glory of
- 10:19the film because it's it's it's really it's it's really genuine like one of
- 10:24my favorite moments is when you're on the phone to barry at one point because
- 10:27of caller id he knows it's you and so when he answers the phone he's just like what do you want.
- 10:35Yes yeah yeah and most of that you know
- 10:37i mean the great thing about barry is he was
- 10:40obviously totally game for the entire thing so
- 10:43yeah i would hook up my camera and just cold cold
- 10:47call him and see what happens a lot
- 10:50and of course he's he's just so lovely but you know that was what was really
- 10:54interesting about you know my the original kind of thought because i love megaforce
- 11:00was to kind of do a straight up you know making of in in search of finding something you know,
- 11:09more interesting so you know if you're
- 11:12not one of the 38 fans who actually likes megaforce you could still enjoy the
- 11:15movie right yeah and it really became obvious that it was kind of barry organized
- 11:22bromance and which is a hundred percent legitimate right or you know the like
- 11:30so much so there were so many.
- 11:32Times hanging out with him where i put the
- 11:35camera away because we're
- 11:38having such a great time you know even if
- 11:41it's just like you know eating dinner
- 11:44outside of whole foods in the parking lot watching the
- 11:47sunset right like it was just amazing where i
- 11:50was like oh my gosh this would be so sweet
- 11:53in the in the film but like yeah
- 11:56our friendship really transcended that it was just like no i just
- 11:59want to i just want to be with this guy right like i
- 12:02like i don't want to be with ace hunter i want to be with barry
- 12:05boss yeah yeah and that was kind of distinction of
- 12:09of kind of juggling around the original impetus if
- 12:13you're going to make a megaforce documentary is like oh i
- 12:15need to get ace hunter in here and then
- 12:18and then as we became close it
- 12:22was like oh like i you know.
- 12:25My personal life i actually need a barry bostwick in
- 12:28my life right like a mentor figure and
- 12:31me chasing after the ace hunter part was
- 12:35just kind of icing on the cake right so i think you're right i
- 12:38really appreciate you kind of you know getting that
- 12:41because that was the most important part of the film for me too is just
- 12:44yeah you know with the legacy of you know
- 12:48all those fans that i interviewed you
- 12:52know it was one of their fondest memories with their dads going
- 12:55out and seeing this boy right essentially it's
- 12:58it's funny you brought that up because again like
- 13:01the the Vonnegut documentary there's actually
- 13:04a point in the film where Robert Whitey tackles what you've just been talking
- 13:08about but he had the chance to go and hang out with Vonnegut at certain times
- 13:12and he he made the decision he said a lot of times he was worried about the
- 13:17film in impinging on the friendship And so he thought, I'm not going to take the camera.
- 13:22I'm just going to go. I think it was for a week or something.
- 13:26And just rather than just film interviews every day. So I'm just going to hang out with.
- 13:30My friend yeah you know yeah no it's it's exactly that and it's so funny because
- 13:35when we were going through right because this took about six years for me to
- 13:38get together since i did it all myself.
- 13:42Filming and everything except for the end which i
- 13:46had some help but yeah it was i was
- 13:49like you know working with my editor felix
- 13:52it was like god i remember barry saying
- 13:55that where is it in the footage and it was in
- 13:58one of those moments where i was not rolling the camera and
- 14:01it was a conversation that just barry and i were having and it was just
- 14:04so funny like this you know
- 14:07i yeah i was down there every month
- 14:10for a year hanging out with them
- 14:13and going on adventures and yeah i
- 14:16i love the fact like you can see the passage of
- 14:19time with your with your hair and beard in the
- 14:22film as you as you
- 14:25try to to synchronistically morph into uh i love the fact that you were actually
- 14:31mistaken you said at one point in the film mistaken five times or six yeah yeah
- 14:36every every comic con that i did the berry beard right and i mean what's funny is is people you know.
- 14:44You know you always kind of remember your heroes how
- 14:48they showed up on on film right so they're like
- 14:51oh well barry obviously barry's older right but
- 14:54if you're coming to a comic con cold to meet the
- 14:57guy you don't know like how much older you know unless you're
- 14:59really following him and stuff like that so yeah i like every
- 15:03comic con because i'm a barry calls me his booth babe he's like i need a booth
- 15:09babe down here can you come and help me do the autographs and you know all that
- 15:14so i'd be working at these comic con tables and he would go go to have lunch
- 15:19or whatever and i'd be there and people would be like, Mr. Bostwick?
- 15:23Like, no, I'm sorry. Sorry. I wish, but we'll be back in a minute.
- 15:28I love it how he isn't shy about talking about his secret medicine that he carries in the bag.
- 15:35Yeah. Yeah. Well, and, and we, and we did start that tradition.
- 15:39There was, again, the, like the documentary was so, so fat, right?
- 15:46Like I could have easily made a three hour documentary of Bob Barry's great adventure.
- 15:51Yeah. Cause there's many, many drinking after Comic-Con shots that we filmed in the movie.
- 15:58I could only imagine Barry, you know, three sheets to the wind. He must be a hootie.
- 16:03Yeah yeah yeah for sure yeah he's
- 16:06like he's a force of nature that guy so and you
- 16:10know the thing like he's not i haven't
- 16:14hung out with a lot of celebrities look like
- 16:17i hung out with flash gordon i mean sam jones
- 16:20a lot through the making of that film and
- 16:23and previously i did a a film
- 16:26commentary with him and melody anderson years ago
- 16:29on flash gordon that was kind of an underground thing and
- 16:33you know like sam jones is like celebrity and
- 16:36and barry's just way more interested in
- 16:39like hanging out with us right and right right
- 16:42you know he did you know he's in
- 16:45he's in that world but like i think he'd
- 16:48much rather be you know clowning around
- 16:52with his buddies and having intimate conversations and
- 16:55yeah it's amazing no it's
- 16:59um it's it's incredible the the the
- 17:02you know whenever you give a high rating for a film review people you know accuse
- 17:06you of shilling or favoritism or whatever but no it's it's it's honest because
- 17:12not only am i a fan of of megaforce but i love documentaries i love particularly
- 17:18if it's a if it's a documentary about a film I love.
- 17:22The more comprehensive the better, and this doesn't get,
- 17:26any more comprehensive i remember interviewing daniel benedict
- 17:29who did a behind the scenes documentary back
- 17:33when arrow released the 4k and blu-ray
- 17:36of of waterworld and he did
- 17:38oh nice he did a really probably the most
- 17:41comprehensive documentary on waterworld which doesn't
- 17:46have i mean it does obviously doesn't have dennis hopper it doesn't have kevin
- 17:50cost it does have them in the archival APK
- 17:53stuff which yeah yeah which was from the original
- 17:56but like you he talked to the
- 17:59the pyro guys the stunt guys
- 18:03like every you know because uh
- 18:06what people forget in in
- 18:09maybe watching these films is is is all of
- 18:12these films megaforce waterworld were
- 18:15not made with green screens or the volume right yeah or the great or the great
- 18:21volume of of special effects that we are so used to today and people are so
- 18:27eager to pick apart oh that cgi looks terrible or whatever yeah it's all it's
- 18:32real for real right it's it's funny right like the.
- 18:36At least the uh the facebook scandal on
- 18:40uh top gun maverick right this is like oh it
- 18:43was all done for real and then you know they show
- 18:46all the cgi stuff and everything like that which you know i mean obviously visually
- 18:52an incredible movie and you can't and you couldn't tell a cgi but uh i mean
- 18:57the fact of the matter is is you know in the 80s those those boys were out there
- 19:02hanging it out and, you know,
- 19:05the moment where they're talking about having to go to the hospital because
- 19:09of all the smoke. Yeah, smoke inhalation, yeah, yeah.
- 19:14I liked one of the stories with the drums when one of the big explosions went off.
- 19:19All of a sudden they started paying attention to the drums coming down,
- 19:23like, oh, where are they going to land? Yeah.
- 19:26And next minute everyone's taking cover under trucks and in trucks.
- 19:30Yeah, yeah. there's so there's so much circus
- 19:33you know when the when kind of the
- 19:36bob and barry story takes over right like it
- 19:39was a really it was a really hard balance being a huge megaforce
- 19:42fan right like i definitely
- 19:45wanted to show like every nut and bolt and
- 19:48every cool moment and you know i'll probably end up with like another two hour
- 19:55straight up making making of the original megaforce on the dvd release because
- 20:02there's just so much more lovely content and just like oh yeah,
- 20:07shocking stories about casino life and.
- 20:13It just it just goes on and on right uh
- 20:16so you and i again we're we're
- 20:20two of the 38 who love the original film like that's going to be a great gift
- 20:25and you know and i've got i've got all those interviews yeah yeah now i i imagine
- 20:31while watching it and because you've been on this so long i thought man the
- 20:34extra features on this are going to be off the wall,
- 20:38Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a couple of features against spoilers and all that,
- 20:44but yeah, there's going to be a couple of amazing pieces of business in it.
- 20:52Yeah, because I imagine due to the meticulousness of what you presented that
- 20:57you've got, you've probably got, you know, like Stanley Kubrick,
- 21:02like days and days of footage that's not in there.
- 21:08Yeah 100 like there's this whole sequence you
- 21:11know when they in the film where they're shooting the beach balls
- 21:14and obviously we go to that location right yeah
- 21:17right i love your reaction at
- 21:19the end yeah but
- 21:23we went hiking up in the mountains because i had photos of
- 21:26where they actually had the mortar launchers for those
- 21:29beach balls originally and everything right like
- 21:32you know big sequences like that and here's where
- 21:35this hologram was and here was this here's where that
- 21:38rock is and here's where this rock is yeah and
- 21:43yeah and it was really hard so you know being you being a fan and and also being
- 21:50generous enough to accept you know my friendship story with barry And of course
- 21:57the love of my kids participating and the love of my friends.
- 22:02Helping me out. Right.
- 22:04Like, you know, mega force is kind of a metaphor for that, you know,
- 22:09mega family or something.
- 22:11So I really appreciate that that part resonated with you as well.
- 22:14Cause I think that's where the real heart is in, and, and the,
- 22:20in the, in the entertainment,
- 22:23in a way that even if you don't know megaforce i
- 22:26mean i mean what do you think if you'd never heard of megaforce do you think
- 22:29the film would resonate yeah i think it's i i think like i feel again i keep
- 22:36going back to this vonnegut documentary but i do think that it's good enough
- 22:41just like that film if you have never heard of kurt vonnegut or never read his books.
- 22:47In in kind like this with megaforce if you
- 22:50were to watch this and have no idea what megaforce is i think
- 22:53that you would be inclined to the
- 22:56very next thing after you watch this you would go
- 22:59oh well i want to go see this mega force exactly exactly
- 23:03well because as i said in the review the
- 23:06the passion that you have is is is
- 23:09the biggest infectious element so
- 23:12particularly when they see the end which we won't spoil because
- 23:15it's it's beautiful i think that that's the capper
- 23:18and that would lead anyone off who has absolutely no clue who has never seen
- 23:21the film who has no knowledge of the film will see that and go wow it affected
- 23:26that guy that way so much uh i need to go check out megaforce as quickly as
- 23:32yeah the original you know in like i did some cuts where.
- 23:39You know when you love a movie so much and it's really easy with megaforce right
- 23:44because like it's been the it's been the internet's punching bag for years as
- 23:49far as i mean it's a really fun movie to make fun of for sure because it's still
- 23:54entertaining yes but at the same time,
- 23:58you know the like my plan was
- 24:01all right if you can get on board with me and understand
- 24:05me bob the character in the movie right and learn and learn through my appreciation
- 24:12of it like i think I hope that people will revisit Megaforce right after and
- 24:20be like, holy cow, now I get it, right?
- 24:24Maybe it wasn't as silly or dumb or a big of a box office failure as history has presented it as.
- 24:34Well, I was shocked to find out the other day that Armageddon is in the Criterion
- 24:39Collection, so there's hope for Megaforce.
- 24:41Holy cow that that that's
- 24:45shocking on several levels and i mean
- 24:48let's face it that same kind of irreverent gung-ho the good guys always win
- 24:55even in the 80s is is apparent in armageddon you know because it has the exact
- 25:03same tone like there's an asteroid that's going to destroy We're all on earth.
- 25:08Who do we send? Bruce Willis.
- 25:11Clearly. And they're going to the smartest guy on the planet.
- 25:15Said that all we need to do is land two ships
- 25:19on this asteroid that's moving at ridiculous speeds
- 25:22plant two nuclear devices somehow take
- 25:25off and then explode it and it's going to split it exactly down
- 25:28the middle it's going to bypass earth completely it's a
- 25:31perfect plan it's a perfect you know and
- 25:35they don't even have like a mega force to to send
- 25:38they got the ragtag oil drillers oil drillers
- 25:41yeah well i mean there's so many you know it's
- 25:45it's weird just like just within a matter of
- 25:48a couple years after megaforce right
- 25:51like megaforce was originally pitched as a
- 25:53television series yeah it's the a-team like right hugely successful series right
- 26:02like right you know and i don't know if that kind of fun loving stuff uh was
- 26:08too serious for cinema at the time because Right after Megaforce failed,
- 26:13it seemed like that recipe that they used has been successful.
- 26:21Look at all the Marvel movies, right? They're no more or less ridiculous than
- 26:28what was presented in the 1980 movie.
- 26:33I mean, you know, again, it's a team, a ragtag team of professionals that join
- 26:40together to fight evil and in all its forms.
- 26:45I mean, as much as it's a men on a mission movie, I mean, you can see the traces of Megaforce.
- 26:56Like, for instance, like through the films of like Stephen Summers,
- 27:00like when he did the first G.I. Joe.
- 27:03You can definitely see the Megaforce templates.
- 27:07Stuck on that sort of thing because again
- 27:11you know i mean the diff i
- 27:14mean probably the big difference with megaforce is megaforce is
- 27:17already set up it's like we're coming into
- 27:20megaforce and the team has been set up
- 27:23and they have been doing this for a while but where
- 27:26i think kind of after megaforce it was
- 27:29always about well we need to show how the team came together and
- 27:32i always think that if they ever did something ridiculous
- 27:35like try and remake it that's the route that
- 27:38would go that would go like well we need to show how megawatt is story
- 27:42stuff yeah well i mean that's really interesting too
- 27:45because like another another movie of the
- 27:47time like buckaroo bonsai right like like again
- 27:51you just come in the middle of the conversation in the middle right you
- 27:54come in the middle um they're already set up
- 27:57and they've already been doing their thing and yeah you
- 28:00know he's doing brain surgery and he leaves the brain surgery
- 28:03to go out and test the vehicle and then comes back and plays at
- 28:06a club you know it's beautiful well don't pull on
- 28:08that we don't know what it's attached to yeah no matter
- 28:11where you go there you are but it's
- 28:16it's fantastic bob i'm so i'm so glad that that
- 28:19i got to see it and and i'm so thankful you took the time to watch it more than
- 28:23once even i've watched it three or four times it makes me feel so it's you know
- 28:30like i said it's infectious and as if you're a fan of of mega force and and also a fan of of of good.
- 28:37Solid documentary and like i said
- 28:40i think that it's got enough legs that people will
- 28:43if you're a complete noobie as they say
- 28:46or a noob yeah to it
- 28:48you will i think you will definitely um i hope
- 28:51so right like if you're a fan of
- 28:54anything that nobody else
- 28:58really understands right i mean that's
- 29:01kind of the megaforce yeah that's that's
- 29:03another way in because it's the another another thing
- 29:07it has going for it is is the fact that
- 29:10like you say in one of the interviews when you're
- 29:13talking with one of the i think the assistant camera guys
- 29:16and he was talking about how when he went to a
- 29:19screening all the kids walked out and
- 29:22like he turns to you and go yeah but you're the one that like stayed and it's
- 29:26like you know and and it's and it really is a great testament to like anyone
- 29:31who's ever seen something whether it be a movie or a comic book or a novel or
- 29:35whatever it is that touched them at that formative age that stayed with them.
- 29:41And somehow it stayed with them deeply enough that it causes them to go,
- 29:45you know, I need to know everything about this.
- 29:48Totally. I need to find out, you know, and I need to become friends with the, with the stuff.
- 29:54Yeah. If you, if you only did, right. Like that was, yeah, that was my right.
- 29:59And I mean, hanging out with Michael Beck was incredible days.
- 30:03And, you know, as far as, Like there's other news that it'll probably be public
- 30:08by the time this is out, depending on when you do it.
- 30:10We just got accepted to, it's called LA film invasion. Okay.
- 30:16Cool. Film festival in LA.
- 30:19Yeah. So the world premiere is going to be the weekend of June 19th through the 22nd.
- 30:25I'll get actual, actual screening dates.
- 30:29Hopefully by next week. But that, that is a really big.
- 30:33Big deal and and you know it's it's hard to say
- 30:36what chips the scales on on these things because
- 30:39a couple of film festivals have said no right uh
- 30:43and and i think it's because they just don't get
- 30:46it or they're too serious right i mean my movie isn't
- 30:49isn't isn't super serious as far
- 30:52as you know documentary goes when you
- 30:55put your fingers up and say documentary but those
- 30:59guys all all responded really
- 31:03like very similar to you right just you
- 31:07know and you know due to
- 31:10your great film threat post right like
- 31:12that's part of our pitch now like that is in our you
- 31:17know festival submission things right so
- 31:20like if kent likes it come on you gotta like it
- 31:23right yes but yeah we're out of our
- 31:25minds out of our minds getting ready for la
- 31:28there should be a real ace hunter there and
- 31:31there should be a real megaforce motorcycle there for
- 31:34the world premiere as well so yeah yeah
- 31:37i think it's i think it's great how you he's not
- 31:40in the film of course because you're late great but that hanging out with hal
- 31:45needham for that that short time that you said that you uh got to must have
- 31:49been it was the best you know like what i mean he was he was he's exactly how you'd expect.
- 31:58And I mean, he said, I've never...
- 32:02He's like, I'm so sick of signing trans ams. This is the first mega destroyer
- 32:07I've ever signed. Right.
