Media Frenzy Over Trump's $1,000 Self-Deportation Offer plus POTUS on NBC · The Ben Ferguson Podcast

0:01
Speaker 1: Media going crazy because they're actually having to cover a
0:06
Speaker 1: brilliant idea from the Trump administration, the ideas to save
0:11
Speaker 1: American taxpayer's money while also getting deportations underway in a
0:16
Speaker 1: very serious way. With a large number of people self deporting.
0:21
Speaker 1: How does it work? We're going to pay them to
0:23
Speaker 1: do it. The Trump administration has now come out saying
0:27
Speaker 1: they are willing to pay one thousand dollars to an
0:30
Speaker 1: undocumented immigrant who self deports. The Department of Homeland Security
0:34
Speaker 1: announce it will provide travel assistance and a thousand dollars
0:39
Speaker 1: stipend to those who use the CBP home app to
0:43
Speaker 1: actually leave the United States of America. The Department of
0:47
Speaker 1: Home in Security says, we are intensifying our efforts to
0:51
Speaker 1: persuade unauthorized immigrants to self deport by offering them the
0:56
Speaker 1: thousand dollars stipend and the travel assistance.
0:59
Speaker 2: This was save Americans money. Now.
1:01
Speaker 1: The best part about this story is the fact that
1:04
Speaker 1: the media is actually having to cover it and they
1:07
Speaker 1: don't know how to criticize it.
1:09
Speaker 2: But they don't like it.
1:11
Speaker 1: CBS News putting a big story out there, and here's
1:15
Speaker 1: how they explained it to their audience.
1:18
Speaker 3: So Willie, how would this actually work?
1:20
Speaker 4: And it is Julie, good to be with you on this
1:22
Speaker 4: Monday afternoon. Well, the Trump administration is looking to deport
1:26
Speaker 4: migrants this way in large part because it would save
1:29
Speaker 4: the government money. That's part of the thinking here. A
1:32
Speaker 4: Department of Homeland Security official explain that it costs about
1:36
Speaker 4: seventeen thousand dollars to find and apprehend in a migrant
1:40
Speaker 4: who is undocumented here in the United States and deport them,
1:43
Speaker 4: so this could potentially save the government one thousands of
1:47
Speaker 4: dollars per person, and the President spoke about this earlier today.
1:51
Speaker 5: Listen, but what we thought we'd do is a self
1:53
Speaker 5: deport where we're going to pay each one a certain
1:56
Speaker 5: amount of money and we're going to get them a
1:59
Speaker 5: beautiful flight back to where they came from, and they
2:02
Speaker 5: have a period of time, and if they make it,
2:05
Speaker 5: we're going to work with them so that maybe someday,
2:08
Speaker 5: with a little.
2:08
Speaker 6: Work, they can come back in. If they're good.
2:10
Speaker 5: People, if they're the kind of people that we want
2:12
Speaker 5: in our company, industrious people that could love our country,
2:17
Speaker 5: and if they're not, they won't.
2:18
Speaker 4: Now, the way that migrants can sign up for this
2:21
Speaker 4: program is by using the CBP home app, that is
2:25
Speaker 4: the app that was used under the Biden administration for
2:28
Speaker 4: migrants to register themselves here so they could be the
2:33
Speaker 4: government could have information about them and their status here
2:36
Speaker 4: in the United States. But the Trump administration is using
2:39
Speaker 4: this as a way for migrants to not only register themselves,
2:43
Speaker 4: but to self deport as well. So the government looking
2:47
Speaker 4: to save some money here, you're looking to collect some
2:49
Speaker 4: information from those undocumented migrants. And I'll add that the
2:55
Speaker 4: effort to deport migrants has really been slowed by the courts.
2:58
Speaker 4: We've seen the Trump administration try to deport migrants in
3:00
Speaker 4: different ways, using the Alien Enemies Act, for instance, but
3:04
Speaker 4: this way in particular, quite a novel idea that the
3:08
Speaker 4: Trump administration is using, but one that they believe could
3:11
Speaker 4: save the government thousands of dollars per individual.
3:15
Speaker 1: Julia, by the way, not thousands, tens of thousands of
3:18
Speaker 1: dollars per immigrant illegal. Let's just call them what it
3:22
Speaker 1: is legal. I also thought it was interesting there. You
3:25
Speaker 1: may have heard the word from CBS News of them
3:29
Speaker 1: actually saying this is quote a novel idea.
3:33
Speaker 2: Now the left is just losing their mind.
3:35
Speaker 1: Pro immigration advocates are slamming the Department of Home and Security,
3:40
Speaker 1: the Trump administration offering this money, they are denouncing it,
3:44
Speaker 1: and they're quote urging illegal migrants to reject President Donald
3:48
Speaker 1: Trump's offer of one thousand dollars in the free airline
3:50
Speaker 1: ticket to leave the country.
3:52
Speaker 2: Quote.
3:53
Speaker 1: This opinion might be worse for people who take advantage
3:56
Speaker 1: of it, claimed Aaron Reshelan, a pro immigrant advocate for
4:01
Speaker 1: the Immigration Council Advocacy group.
4:03
Speaker 2: Quote.
4:04
Speaker 1: For people illegal immigrants in immigration court, it would likely
4:07
Speaker 1: mean a deportation order. For others not detained for deportation,
4:12
Speaker 1: it would abandon clear options for staying. So they're saying
4:17
Speaker 1: dig in, don't take de bait, don't leave America. Steven
4:22
Speaker 1: Miller putting out a tweet putting it this way, The
4:24
Speaker 1: savings are as much as one million per illegal alien family,
4:29
Speaker 1: given the long term costs of free welfare and public support.
4:33
Speaker 1: And that is exactly why the Trump administration is now
4:37
Speaker 1: saying we are willing to begin paying for the commercial
4:41
Speaker 1: flights of illegal aliens who self deport from the US.
4:44
Speaker 1: We will pay these aliens in additional thousand dollars once
4:48
Speaker 1: they are confirmed have left the country. The Department of
4:50
Speaker 1: Oland Security, telling Fox News it will save American taxpayers
4:55
Speaker 1: seventy percent, as it currently costs DHS on average over
4:59
Speaker 1: seventeen one thousand to arrest, detain, and to port someone
5:02
Speaker 1: from the US while paying for self removal flights, and
5:06
Speaker 1: the stipend has protected to cost just four thousand, five
5:09
Speaker 1: hundred and also will be safer for ICE and preserve
5:13
Speaker 1: their resources. Illegal aliens here's the rules must register on
5:18
Speaker 1: the CBP home app and file their notice to leave
5:21
Speaker 1: the US in order to receive the financial assistance, and
5:24
Speaker 1: the stipend will only be paid once the alien is
5:27
Speaker 1: confirmed to have left the United States. Now, the question
5:30
Speaker 1: is is one thousand dollars enough to get somebody to
5:34
Speaker 1: want to leave the US. Some would say maybe the
5:37
Speaker 1: numbers too low. Well, let me explain the other part
5:40
Speaker 1: of the incentive here. The Department of Homeland Security is
5:44
Speaker 1: telling Fox News that any aliens who register to self
5:49
Speaker 1: deport will be immediately deprioritized for ICE arrests, meaning you
5:55
Speaker 1: don't have to keep looking over your shoulder and will
5:59
Speaker 1: maintain the ability to return to the United States of
6:02
Speaker 1: America illegally in the future. Department of Home in Security
6:07
Speaker 1: says they have already successfully tested out the financial assistance,
6:11
Speaker 1: recently paying for an illegal alien to fly back to
6:14
Speaker 1: Honduras from Chicago with more tickets that have already been
6:18
Speaker 1: booked for this week. Christy Nome saying this in a
6:23
Speaker 1: statement quote, if you are here illegally, self deportation is
6:28
Speaker 1: the best, safest and most cost effective way to leave
6:32
Speaker 1: the United States to avoid arrest. The DHS is now
6:36
Speaker 1: offering illegal aliens financial travel assistance in a stipend to
6:41
Speaker 1: return to their home country through the CBP home app.
6:45
Speaker 1: This is the safest option for our law enforcement for
6:48
Speaker 1: aliens and is a seventy percent savings for US taxpayers.
6:53
Speaker 1: Download the CBP home app today and self deport again.
6:58
Speaker 2: Those are the word from Christy Nome. Now.
7:01
Speaker 1: When this story broke, Fox News was the first to
7:05
Speaker 1: tell all of the details, and here is more of
7:08
Speaker 1: what they said.
7:09
Speaker 6: Dana, good morning to you.
7:10
Speaker 7: So Fox News can report exclusively that DHS will announce
7:14
Speaker 7: today that they're going to start paying for the commercial
7:16
Speaker 7: flights of illegal aliens who self deport from the US,
7:19
Speaker 7: and on top of that, they're going to pay them
7:21
Speaker 7: an additional one thousand dollars stipend once they're confirmed to
7:25
Speaker 7: have left the country now. DHS says doing this is
7:28
Speaker 7: going to be significantly cheaper for the American taxpayer. They
7:31
Speaker 7: tell us that right now it costs on average, about
7:34
Speaker 7: seventeen thousand dollars to arrest, detain, and deport someone. They say,
7:38
Speaker 7: paying for self deportations and the stipend will only cost
7:42
Speaker 7: about forty five hundred dollars per person. That's about seventy
7:45
Speaker 7: percent cheaper. Aliens are going to have to register to
7:48
Speaker 7: self deport on the new CBP home mapp to access
7:51
Speaker 7: that DHS financial assistance, as well as announce their intent
7:55
Speaker 7: to leave the country. DHS Secretary Christy Nome tells Fox
7:58
Speaker 7: in part quote, if you are here illegally, self deportation
8:02
Speaker 7: is the best, safest and most cost effective way to
8:05
Speaker 7: leave the United States to avoid arrest. In the meantime,
8:08
Speaker 7: here in the sanctuary city of Los Angeles, ICE confirms
8:11
Speaker 7: the Fox News that three suspects arrested in connection with
8:14
Speaker 7: the home invasion murder of a man in the Woodland
8:17
Speaker 7: Hills neighborhood last Sunday are all in the US illegally.
8:21
Speaker 7: ICE's acting director Todd Lyons tells Fox they are all
8:24
Speaker 7: Georgia nationals. Two of whom were cotton released at the
8:27
Speaker 7: border after crossing illegally, and the third, who overstayed a
8:30
Speaker 7: tourist visa and listened to this, had two previous arrests
8:34
Speaker 7: with ICE detainers on him ignored due to sanctuary policy.
8:38
Speaker 8: They were still allowed to stay here in the US
8:40
Speaker 8: and commit crimes. So you have three individuals from the
8:44
Speaker 8: nation of Georgia who didn't know each other, who have
8:47
Speaker 8: now met up in the sanctuary state of California in
8:50
Speaker 8: Los Angeles and killed an innocent person. For these elected officials,
8:55
Speaker 8: I say, shame on you and Dana.
8:56
Speaker 7: Regarding DHS paying for those self deportation flights, they tell
9:00
Speaker 7: us they've already tested this out successfully. They say they
9:03
Speaker 7: paid recently for an illegal alien to fly from Chicago
9:06
Speaker 7: back to Honduras. They tell us that any aliens who
9:09
Speaker 7: sign up and register to self deport will be immediately
9:12
Speaker 7: deprioritized as a target for ICE arrest. They say thousands
9:16
Speaker 7: have self deported already. They anticipate that number is going
9:19
Speaker 7: to shoot up significantly after today's announcement.
9:22
Speaker 5: Yeah, seems like a const effective way to help handle
9:24
Speaker 5: it as well.
9:25
Speaker 1: Bill, You listens reporting from at Fox and Bill Mallusian,
9:29
Speaker 1: who does an unbelievable job. By the way, when it
9:31
Speaker 1: comes to stuff and you listen to what he said there,
9:34
Speaker 1: This is a novel idea that is not crazy, that
9:38
Speaker 1: saves us a lot of money, puts fewer people's lives
9:41
Speaker 1: at risk when you're going after these legal immigrants, and
9:44
Speaker 1: allows for people to have a chance to even come
9:46
Speaker 1: back into the United States of America. This is a
9:49
Speaker 1: win all the way around for everyone involved. And yet
9:54
Speaker 1: the media is like, we don't know what to do
9:56
Speaker 1: with it, Like we're trying to figure out a way
9:58
Speaker 1: to criticize it. What do we say, how do we
10:00
Speaker 1: undermine this, how do we attack it? How do we
10:03
Speaker 1: get people to be angry about it? I go back
10:06
Speaker 1: to the basics here. This is why I voted for
10:08
Speaker 1: Donald Trump, because he was going to think outside the
10:11
Speaker 1: box and when certain things weren't working, he was going
10:13
Speaker 1: to try something else. And this is another way to
10:16
Speaker 1: get rid of so many illegal immigrants in this country.
10:20
Speaker 1: It was a very interesting interview that President Donald Trump
10:23
Speaker 1: did with Meet the Press. You probably didn't watch it,
10:26
Speaker 1: as many didn't, and if you missed it, there was
10:30
Speaker 1: some parts in there that I do want to play
10:32
Speaker 1: for you. Now, I thought about kind of cutting this
10:34
Speaker 1: up a little bit, and then I decided to know,
10:37
Speaker 1: I want you to feel the flow of the interview
10:40
Speaker 1: because NBC News comes out of the gate with like
10:42
Speaker 1: kind of like an easy, kind question, and then the
10:45
Speaker 1: demeanor starts to change. And I do think that's part
10:48
Speaker 1: of the importance of this interview. Now, it was a
10:51
Speaker 1: solid hour, and I'm going to give you some of
10:53
Speaker 1: the longer highlights, including the very beginning where NBC News
10:57
Speaker 1: Christian Walker sat down with the President about his quote
10:59
Speaker 1: first hundred days in office, and here is how she
11:02
Speaker 1: introduced him and her first question.
11:05
Speaker 3: President Trump, welcome back to meet the press.
11:07
Speaker 6: Thank you very much.
11:08
Speaker 9: Thank you so much for being here to mark your
11:11
Speaker 9: first one hundred days in office. It has been an
11:14
Speaker 9: incredibly busy one hundred days. You've signed more than one
11:17
Speaker 9: hundred and forty executive orders. You've been focused on the border,
11:21
Speaker 9: of the economy, foreign policy.
11:24
Speaker 3: What is your biggest goal in the next one hundred days.
11:27
Speaker 5: Well, I think we're going to see a lot of results.
11:29
Speaker 5: We've already seen them on the border. We have the
11:31
Speaker 5: best vord in the history of our country. It was
11:34
Speaker 5: ninety nine point nine ninety nine, and nobody ever thought
11:38
Speaker 5: that was possible. In fact, Biden, if you remember, said
11:40
Speaker 5: he has to get legislation, and I said, no, you
11:43
Speaker 5: just need a new president. And I guess I was right.
11:45
Speaker 5: We have the best border we've ever had, We're doing
11:48
Speaker 5: great on illegal immigration. We are being hit hard by
11:53
Speaker 5: judges that I think they're trying to take away the
11:56
Speaker 5: power of the presidency. I was elected in a massive
11:59
Speaker 5: landslod and a big vote. We won the swing states,
12:03
Speaker 5: we won the popular vote, we won the district votes
12:06
Speaker 5: by tremendous numbers. We want everything, and one of the reasons,
12:10
Speaker 5: one of the primary reasons I was elected, was to
12:13
Speaker 5: get people out of our country that were allowed. We
12:16
Speaker 5: have prisoners, we have murderers, we have terrorists.
12:19
Speaker 6: In our country.
12:20
Speaker 5: We have people from mental institutions that are seriously insane.
12:24
Speaker 5: They all came in through Biden's open border policy, and
12:27
Speaker 5: I was elected to get them out and to seal
12:30
Speaker 5: the border, but to get them out.
12:32
Speaker 6: And we'll have judges. They're activist judges.
12:34
Speaker 5: They're saying, well, you know, you don't have the right
12:36
Speaker 5: to take out murderers and people that you don't even
12:40
Speaker 5: want to talk about. These are really some really bad
12:44
Speaker 5: criminal people, and they're here illegally. So you know, they
12:47
Speaker 5: talk about your next question will be due process. But
12:50
Speaker 5: they talk about due process, but do you get due
12:52
Speaker 5: process when you're here illegally.
12:55
Speaker 9: We're going to talk about all of that. We are
12:57
Speaker 9: going to talk about deportation. But I want to start
12:59
Speaker 9: on this economy, sir, which obviously the biggest issue for voters.
13:04
Speaker 9: We got new numbers today, better than expected, job numbers,
13:08
Speaker 9: much better. At the same time, the economy shrank in
13:11
Speaker 9: the first quarter. You've been arguing all week that this
13:14
Speaker 9: is President Biden's economy. Is this now your economy?
13:18
Speaker 7: Sir?
13:18
Speaker 5: Well, I think certain aspects of it are Costs are
13:22
Speaker 5: I was able to get down the costs, but even that,
13:24
Speaker 5: it takes a while to get them down, but we
13:26
Speaker 5: got them down good. We lost five to six billion
13:31
Speaker 5: dollars a day with Biden, five to six billion, and
13:35
Speaker 5: I've got that down to a great number right now
13:38
Speaker 5: in a record time. You know, we're talking about one
13:40
Speaker 5: hundred days, but just think of what that is. Five
13:43
Speaker 5: billion dollars a day. We're losing on trade, and we
13:47
Speaker 5: were very tough with China.
13:49
Speaker 6: As you know.
13:49
Speaker 5: We've put one hundred and forty five percent tariff on.
13:51
Speaker 5: Nobody's ever heard of such a thing. And we've essentially
13:55
Speaker 5: cut off trade relationships by putting that much of a
13:59
Speaker 5: tariff on. And that's okay. We've gone cold turkey. That
14:02
Speaker 5: means that we're not losing you know, we lost a
14:05
Speaker 5: trillion dollars to China, a trillion dollars. That means we're
14:09
Speaker 5: not losing a trillion dollars when we go cold Turkey
14:12
Speaker 5: because we're not doing business with them right now and
14:15
Speaker 5: they want to make a deal. They want to make
14:16
Speaker 5: a deal very badly. We'll see how that all turns out,
14:19
Speaker 5: but it's got to be a fair deal.
14:20
Speaker 6: But think of it.
14:21
Speaker 5: We're losing a trillion dollars and that was a big
14:24
Speaker 5: part of the five million dollars a day.
14:27
Speaker 9: And I want to talk about China, but just staying
14:29
Speaker 9: on this idea of the economy. On the eve of
14:32
Speaker 9: your inauguration, the stock market spiked. You called it the
14:37
Speaker 9: Trump effect.
14:39
Speaker 5: Are you spike because I was elected president? Well, spike
14:42
Speaker 5: because of anybody else. It's spike because they see what
14:45
Speaker 5: I'm going to do. They know what I'm going to
14:47
Speaker 5: do with the tariffs and everything else, and I think
14:50
Speaker 5: it's actually working out better than we anticipated. Do you
14:53
Speaker 5: see oil prices? Did you see gasoline is now below
14:56
Speaker 5: in many cases, in many states below two dollars.
14:59
Speaker 6: A gallon one ninety eight, ninety nine, one ninety seven.
15:03
Speaker 9: Well, my question, sir, is when the stock market spiked,
15:06
Speaker 9: you said this is the Trump effect. When the numbers
15:09
Speaker 9: weren't so good earlier this week, you said it's the
15:11
Speaker 9: Biden effect. Are you only taking ownership of the good
15:15
Speaker 9: numbers and not the bad number?
15:16
Speaker 5: I think he did a lot of very bad things,
15:18
Speaker 5: and despite some of the bad things, were overcoming them.
15:22
Speaker 5: But he was bad on the border. He was bad
15:23
Speaker 5: on the economy. We had the worst inflation in the
15:26
Speaker 5: history of our country. Look, Biden gave us the worst
15:29
Speaker 5: inflation in the history of our country. People didn't matter
15:33
Speaker 5: what they made because they were losing their shirt. Because
15:36
Speaker 5: of course, now take a look at what happened. Oil
15:39
Speaker 5: is down, gasoline is down, groceries are down.
15:42
Speaker 6: Eggs.
15:43
Speaker 5: You were the one that asked me. You asked me
15:45
Speaker 5: about eggs. It was the first week I didn't even
15:47
Speaker 5: know anything about. What were you talking about? Egg prices
15:51
Speaker 5: were so high you couldn't buy eggs. They didn't have
15:53
Speaker 5: any eggs, and they said, Easter is going to be
15:55
Speaker 5: a disaster. Well, we had easter at the White House
15:58
Speaker 5: and we had thousands of and they were down eighty
16:01
Speaker 5: seven percent.
16:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of that, of course, spike was because
16:05
Speaker 3: of bird flu. But when does it become the Trump
16:07
Speaker 3: al Why do you say that?
16:08
Speaker 6: Well, tell me when did we had the same bird
16:10
Speaker 6: flu as he?
16:11
Speaker 3: When does it become the Trump economy?
16:15
Speaker 5: It partially is right now, And I really mean this.
16:18
Speaker 5: I think the good parts of the Trump economy and
16:20
Speaker 5: the bad parts of the Biden economy because he's done.
16:23
Speaker 6: A terrible job.
16:24
Speaker 5: He did a terrible job and everything from his auto pen,
16:27
Speaker 5: which I'm sure he knew nothing about some of the
16:29
Speaker 5: things he was supposedly signing, to immigration. You look at
16:34
Speaker 5: what happened with immigration, how bad it was.
16:36
Speaker 6: Think of it.
16:37
Speaker 5: We have murderers, eleven eight hundred and eighty eight murderers,
16:41
Speaker 5: many of them murdered more than one person. Think of that,
16:44
Speaker 5: and they're in our country. Now, We've gotten a lot
16:46
Speaker 5: of them out and we know who many of them are, and.
16:50
Speaker 6: We're on the hunt.
16:52
Speaker 5: But why would anybody do that? Why would anybody who
16:55
Speaker 5: could do such a thing. Would it allow hundreds of
16:59
Speaker 5: thousands and even millions of people into our country or
17:02
Speaker 5: criminals and murderers at the highest level.
17:06
Speaker 9: But sir, you acknowledged when you announced your tariffs, for example,
17:10
Speaker 9: the stock market dropped, it's been volatile, it has since
17:13
Speaker 9: gone up. Do you take responsibility that, yeah? Do you
17:17
Speaker 9: take responsibility?
17:19
Speaker 6: Ultimately?
17:19
Speaker 5: I take responsibility for everything. But I've only just been
17:22
Speaker 5: here for a little more than three months. But the
17:26
Speaker 5: stock market, look at what's happened in the last short
17:29
Speaker 5: period of time. It didn't have nine or ten days
17:31
Speaker 5: in a row or eleven days where it's gone up.
17:34
Speaker 5: And the tariffs have just started kicking in, and we're
17:40
Speaker 5: doing really well psychologically. I mean, the fake news was
17:44
Speaker 5: giving me such press on the tariffs.
17:47
Speaker 6: The tariffs are going to make us rich. We're going
17:49
Speaker 6: to be a very rich country.
17:50
Speaker 3: So let's talk about the tariffs. And I want to
17:52
Speaker 3: ask you about something you said this week got a
17:54
Speaker 3: lot of attention. You were at your cabinet meeting.
17:57
Speaker 9: You said, quote and quote what you said, maybe the
18:00
Speaker 9: children will have two dollars instead of thirty dollars, and
18:02
Speaker 9: maybe the two dolls will cost a couple of bucks
18:05
Speaker 9: more than they would normally. Are you saying that your
18:08
Speaker 9: tariffs will cause some prices to go up.
18:11
Speaker 5: No, I think the tariffs is going to be great
18:13
Speaker 5: for us because it's going to make us rich.
18:14
Speaker 9: But you said some dolls are going to cost more.
18:16
Speaker 9: Isn't that an acknowledgement that some prices.
18:18
Speaker 3: Will go up.
18:19
Speaker 5: I don't think a beautiful baby girl needs it's eleven
18:23
Speaker 5: years old, needs to have thirty dollars. I think they
18:27
Speaker 5: can have three dollars or four dollars. Because what we
18:30
Speaker 5: were doing with China was just unbelievable. We had a
18:33
Speaker 5: trade deficit of hundreds of billions of dollars with China.
18:37
Speaker 9: When you say they could have three dollars instead of
18:40
Speaker 9: thirty dollars, are you saying Americans could see empty store shelves.
18:44
Speaker 5: No, No, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying they
18:47
Speaker 5: don't need to have thirty dollars. They can have three.
18:49
Speaker 5: They don't need to have two hundred and fifty pencils,
18:51
Speaker 5: they can have five.
18:53
Speaker 3: But you're basically saying there could be some supply.
18:56
Speaker 5: Sure, because of the waste money trade deficit with China
19:01
Speaker 5: for things we don't need for junk that we don't need.
19:04
Speaker 1: And obviously that's exactly what I told you a moment ago.
19:08
Speaker 1: You can see how the immediately the interview just started
19:12
Speaker 1: to change right into the we hate Donald Trump, Orange
19:15
Speaker 1: Man bad.
19:16
Speaker 2: You're the problem. It's not anybody else.
19:19
Speaker 1: It's not the media, it's not Biden, it's not the
19:21
Speaker 1: liberals that destroyed this country.
19:23
Speaker 2: No, you're the bad guy. And Kristen Welker goes all in.
19:27
Speaker 1: I got to say in the interview, and you can
19:29
Speaker 1: hear how quickly the media again not only the coming
19:32
Speaker 1: after Trump, but they're also putting words in his mouth,
19:35
Speaker 1: lying about what he's saying. When he said that a
19:39
Speaker 1: little girl doesn't need thirty dollars maybe three or four, Like,
19:42
Speaker 1: we don't need the trade deficit we have, We don't
19:44
Speaker 1: need this idea that we're addicted to all this cheap
19:46
Speaker 1: stuff and they get to take advantage of us, and
19:49
Speaker 1: the point he was making. They're like, well, are you
19:50
Speaker 1: saying we're going to run shortages? Like that's not what
19:52
Speaker 1: I said at all. Do you need thirty pencils or five?
19:56
Speaker 2: Right?
19:56
Speaker 1: He was talking about changing the mentality of the way
19:59
Speaker 1: we trade with China, and they're like, oh, so massive
20:03
Speaker 1: shortges are coming. That's not what I said at all.
20:06
Speaker 1: They're constantly trying to put words of his mouth and long,
20:09
Speaker 1: keep listening as the next question comes. And this is
20:12
Speaker 1: where the contingent comes from from NBC.
20:14
Speaker 3: This is already going up on some popular strollers.
20:19
Speaker 5: This is such a dishonest interview. Already, prices are down
20:23
Speaker 5: on groceries. Prices are down for oil, prices are down
20:26
Speaker 5: for oil.
20:27
Speaker 6: Energy.
20:28
Speaker 5: Prices are down at tremendous numbers for gasoline. And let
20:33
Speaker 5: me tell you when you have the big thing.
20:36
Speaker 6: What he did.
20:36
Speaker 5: He spent like a stupid person, which he was, but
20:40
Speaker 5: he spent like a very stupid person. And that was
20:42
Speaker 5: bad for inflation. But what really killed us with inflation
20:45
Speaker 5: was the price of energy. It went up to three
20:48
Speaker 5: dollars and ninety even four dollars and in California five
20:50
Speaker 5: and six dollars. Right, okay, I have it down to
20:53
Speaker 5: a dollar ninety eight in many states right now. When
20:57
Speaker 5: you go that much lower on energy, which is ahead
21:01
Speaker 5: of my prediction because I really thought I could get
21:04
Speaker 5: it down into the two fifties. We have it down
21:07
Speaker 5: at a dollar ninety eight in numerous places. But when
21:11
Speaker 5: you say courts are going up, even mortgage rates are
21:14
Speaker 5: going down.
21:15
Speaker 9: Well, let me give you some examples. These are I mean,
21:18
Speaker 9: these are actual examples. They're going So you're saying the
21:21
Speaker 9: prices that are going down, some prices are going up. Tires, strollers,
21:26
Speaker 9: some clothing in the wake of your territory.
21:29
Speaker 5: That's peanuts compared to energy. Energy is sixty percent of
21:34
Speaker 5: the cost sir.
21:34
Speaker 9: You campaign on a promise to bring prices down on day, Well.
21:39
Speaker 5: I don't know when you say strollers are going up?
21:42
Speaker 5: What kind of a thing I'm saying that gasoline is
21:44
Speaker 5: going down. Gasoline is thousands of times more important than
21:48
Speaker 5: as a strollers somebody, What do you.
21:50
Speaker 9: Say to Americans who say they voted for you because
21:52
Speaker 9: they want and they need relief right now, and.
21:55
Speaker 3: They're getting it right now. What about those.
21:58
Speaker 6: Even mortgage rates different items. Mortgage rates are going down
22:01
Speaker 6: despite the fact that we have a stubborn fed But.
22:03
Speaker 3: You said dolls, even dolls could cost a couple bucks more.
22:06
Speaker 5: Maybe they might, But you don't need to have us.
22:09
Speaker 5: I said, thirty five dollars. You can have two, three,
22:11
Speaker 5: four and save a lot of money. We don't need
22:14
Speaker 5: to feed the beast.
22:16
Speaker 3: I guess you're talking about this transition cost. How long
22:19
Speaker 3: should people expect that transition to last?
22:22
Speaker 5: Mister President, I can't tell you that. I can tell
22:24
Speaker 5: you that we're making a lot of money. We're doing
22:27
Speaker 5: great again. We're losing more than five billion dollars a day.
22:34
Speaker 5: Five billion dollars a day. You don't talk about that,
22:37
Speaker 5: and right now we're going to be at a point
22:39
Speaker 5: very soon where we're making money every day.
22:43
Speaker 3: Look how soon.
22:44
Speaker 5: We were losing hundreds of billions of dollars with China.
22:49
Speaker 5: Now we're essentially not doing business with China. Therefore we're
22:53
Speaker 5: saving hundreds of billions of dollars. Very simple.
22:56
Speaker 9: You take me to my next question, which is about China.
22:59
Speaker 9: They've been making a number of public statements.
23:02
Speaker 5: There is positive statements the last twenty four hours.
23:05
Speaker 9: Well, and most recently they said before talks could happen,
23:09
Speaker 9: the US would need to remove unilateral tariffs. Would you
23:13
Speaker 9: consider dropping the tariffs to get China to the negotiating team.
23:16
Speaker 5: No, First of all, you're giving me a statement that
23:20
Speaker 5: was said a week ago.
23:21
Speaker 6: You're not giving the statement that was said today.
23:23
Speaker 3: I have may second Chinese Commerce ministry.
23:26
Speaker 6: Do you know what they said today the US wants.
23:28
Speaker 9: To negotiate, it should show sincerity by preparing to take
23:31
Speaker 9: actions and correcting its mistakes and canceling the unilateral tariffs
23:35
Speaker 9: they made.
23:36
Speaker 6: First of all, they made numerous statements.
23:38
Speaker 3: Yes, they've made people speak for China fifty made numerous I.
23:42
Speaker 5: Can't give you a statement for any occasion. Yes, but
23:45
Speaker 5: they said today they want to talk. Look China and
23:48
Speaker 5: I don't like this. I'm not happy about this. Chinese
23:50
Speaker 5: is getting killed right now. They're getting absolutely destroyed. Their
23:55
Speaker 5: factories are closing, their unemployment is going through the roof.
23:58
Speaker 6: I'm not looking to do that to China now.
24:00
Speaker 5: At the same time, I'm not looking to have China
24:02
Speaker 5: make hundreds of millions of dollars and build more ships
24:06
Speaker 5: and more army tanks and more aeroplanes.
24:09
Speaker 9: So you're not just be very clear, you're not dropping
24:12
Speaker 9: the tariffs against China to get them to the negotiating table.
24:16
Speaker 9: Those tariffs are staying on what I would you lower them.
24:19
Speaker 6: At some point.
24:20
Speaker 5: I'm going to lower them because otherwise you could never
24:22
Speaker 5: do business with them, and they want to do business
24:25
Speaker 5: very much. Look, their economy is really doing badly. Their
24:29
Speaker 5: economy is collapsing.
24:31
Speaker 9: So small businesses say they are being hurt by the
24:35
Speaker 9: Chinese tariffs, and some could be forced to show how.
24:38
Speaker 6: Many businesses have been helped.
24:39
Speaker 3: Are you look at care of relief for small business?
24:42
Speaker 7: What do you.
24:42
Speaker 5: Always mention that you know, you pick up a couple
24:45
Speaker 5: of little businesses? What about the car business? They're going
24:47
Speaker 5: to make a fortune because of the teriffs? Do you
24:50
Speaker 5: know that the union? The head of the union who
24:52
Speaker 5: is no fan of mine, Faine Sean Fain. I guess
24:55
Speaker 5: his name is right. He didn't indorce me the team
24:58
Speaker 5: suits did a lot of people did, lot of unions did,
25:01
Speaker 5: but he didn't. He couldn't stand me. Now he's saying, Wow,
25:05
Speaker 5: what's Trump's done for the automobile? But I can't believe it.
25:08
Speaker 5: I assume he's going to probably now say. The next
25:10
Speaker 5: thing you can say is I endorse this guy. He's
25:13
Speaker 5: the greatest I've ever seen. He can't believe it's happened.
25:15
Speaker 5: He said, We've been waiting forty years for somebody to
25:18
Speaker 5: do what Trump is doing. So why don't you mention
25:21
Speaker 5: the big car industry instead of mentioning somebody that's doing strollers?
25:26
Speaker 3: Well, I'm just asking you about small businesses.
25:28
Speaker 9: Are there any discussions about giving any relief to small businesses?
25:33
Speaker 10: They're not going to need it, Okay, Are these they're
25:35
Speaker 10: going to make so much money? Are these if you
25:38
Speaker 10: build your product here, remember there are no tariffs. If
25:42
Speaker 10: you build your product here, it's very easy, it's very simple.
25:46
Speaker 3: Are these tariffs permanent, mister President.
25:50
Speaker 5: Depends on what you took in about one of the
25:53
Speaker 5: things that is going to bring and has brought. So
25:56
Speaker 5: I think we probably have close to nine trees million
26:00
Speaker 5: dollars of investments coming into this country. If you look
26:04
Speaker 5: at other presidents, there's never been anything like that. This
26:07
Speaker 5: is over a period of two months. You've got to
26:08
Speaker 5: give me a little break on the one month because
26:10
Speaker 5: we're three months. But you know, let's say we had
26:12
Speaker 5: to get started. We had a lot of fake news
26:15
Speaker 5: at the beginning, so we had to beat that down.
26:17
Speaker 6: But so let's say in two months.
26:20
Speaker 5: So in just a short period of time, a matter
26:24
Speaker 5: of a couple of months, we have the largest number
26:27
Speaker 5: ever in history invested in the United States and committed.
26:31
Speaker 5: We have between guaranteed spoken for and people that are
26:36
Speaker 5: going to make a decision and announcer pretty simplost to
26:39
Speaker 5: nine trillion dollars.
26:40
Speaker 6: We've never had anything close.
26:42
Speaker 5: Now that's Apple building five hundred billion dollars worth of plans.
26:46
Speaker 5: They always built their plants in China. Now they're building
26:48
Speaker 5: their plants over here. That's the biggest computer company, the
26:51
Speaker 5: biggest chip company in the world, you know, the chip
26:54
Speaker 5: company from Taiwan, which is the biggest in the World's
26:56
Speaker 5: committed for five hundred billion. Another one's committed for three
27:00
Speaker 5: hundred billion. We have companies nobody's ever.
27:03
Speaker 6: Seen anything like it.
27:04
Speaker 5: Let me tell you the other thing, very importantly, automobile companies,
27:08
Speaker 5: plant after plant after plant, Toyota, Honda for General motors, stillantis.
27:18
Speaker 5: I mean, nobody's ever seen anything like it. And I
27:21
Speaker 5: don't like this, but it happens to be. They're stopping
27:24
Speaker 5: work in Mexico, and they're stopping work in Canada, and
27:27
Speaker 5: they're all moving here.
27:29
Speaker 3: This is important, though.
27:30
Speaker 9: You're not taking the possibility that these tariffs could be
27:34
Speaker 9: permanent off the table some of them.
27:36
Speaker 5: I wouldn't do that because if somebody thought they were
27:39
Speaker 5: going to come off the table, why would they build
27:41
Speaker 5: in the United States?
27:43
Speaker 6: Ask you, do you understand that?
27:44
Speaker 10: Right?
27:44
Speaker 6: Yeah?
27:45
Speaker 9: No, I mean that's why I'm asking because there's a
27:47
Speaker 9: lot of I think uncertainty for CEOs, for business owners.
27:50
Speaker 3: They want to know are they permanent.
27:53
Speaker 5: I think there's only uncertainty in the fake news. I
27:56
Speaker 5: don't think there's uncertainty. I mean, I've been very rigid,
27:59
Speaker 5: very strong, but I will say I have I'm flexible.
28:02
Speaker 5: Like with respect to parts made outside of the country.
28:05
Speaker 5: I gave the automobile companies a little extra time. You know,
28:09
Speaker 5: you're talking about fifteen percent and then ten percent of.
28:12
Speaker 6: The parts made put in a car.
28:14
Speaker 5: I gave them a little extra time without penalizing them.
28:17
Speaker 5: And I did that only to help, you know, companies.
28:19
Speaker 5: We're looking to help companies. We want them to thrive
28:21
Speaker 5: and to hire a lot of people. And that's what's happening.
28:24
Speaker 9: Let me ask you about some of what Wall Street
28:26
Speaker 9: has said. Some people on Wall Street have expressed concerns
28:30
Speaker 9: that the possibility of a recession is increasing, And I
28:34
Speaker 9: want to know what you think about that. Are you
28:37
Speaker 9: comfortable with the country potentially dipping into a recession for
28:41
Speaker 9: a period of time if you are able to achieve
28:43
Speaker 9: your long term goals?
28:44
Speaker 5: Well, you know, you say some people on Wall Street say, well,
28:47
Speaker 5: I like to tell you something else. Some people on
28:49
Speaker 5: Wall Street say that we're going to have the greatest
28:52
Speaker 5: economy in history. Why don't you talk about them because
28:55
Speaker 5: some people on Wall Street say this is well, that's what.
28:57
Speaker 3: I'm getting at. That's what I'm getting at.
28:59
Speaker 5: Though there are many people, there are many people on
29:02
Speaker 5: Wall Street say this is going to be the greatest
29:04
Speaker 5: windfall ever happened.
29:05
Speaker 9: And that's my question over the long term. Is it
29:08
Speaker 9: okay in the short term to have our sessions?
29:11
Speaker 5: Look, yeah, everything's okay. What we are I said, this
29:16
Speaker 5: is a transition period. I think we're going to do fantastically.
29:20
Speaker 5: One of your colleagues on another fake news station, ABC said,
29:25
Speaker 5: do you guarantee one hundred percent that a certain person
29:30
Speaker 5: is going to do a fantastic job as let's say,
29:33
Speaker 5: secretary of Defense? Okay, because that was the question, I said,
29:36
Speaker 5: what kind of a question is that? Do I guarantee
29:38
Speaker 5: one hundred percent? Nobody guarantees one hundred percent, But I
29:41
Speaker 5: will say this, I think we're going to have an
29:44
Speaker 5: economy the likes of.
29:45
Speaker 6: Which we've never had before.
29:47
Speaker 5: You know, my four years were phenomenal, as you know,
29:50
Speaker 5: the stock market in fact, even though we had to
29:53
Speaker 5: go through the COVID thing, that horrible situation with COVID.
29:57
Speaker 5: We did numbers and when I gave it over, when
30:00
Speaker 5: I handed it over, the election was rigged and I
30:03
Speaker 5: handed it and because of that, we have a lot
30:04
Speaker 5: of problems, by the way, But when I handed it over,
30:07
Speaker 5: what happened. The market was higher than it was previous to.
30:11
Speaker 5: Just previous to COVID coming in. Nobody could believe it.
30:14
Speaker 5: The sock market I'm talking about.
30:16
Speaker 1: You listen to President here, and there is a certain
30:19
Speaker 1: level of sophistication with this president where he's like, I'm
30:23
Speaker 1: not backing down.
30:24
Speaker 2: I'm not afraid to have a long discussion.
30:27
Speaker 1: I'm going to call you out when you say things
30:30
Speaker 1: that are egregious, and We're going to move forward in
30:36
Speaker 1: all of these interviews, having these conversations and I'm not
30:40
Speaker 1: going to back down.
30:41
Speaker 2: It's amazing.
30:42
Speaker 1: Don't forget Share this podcast please on social media wherever
