- 0:00Speaker 1: But next year I saw our power couple. Haven't had
- 0:02Speaker 1: them on a short a long time, but they are fantastic.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Last time in season three of Black Love, and when
- 0:09Speaker 1: I had them own season one at Premier and it
- 0:11Speaker 1: was two great numbers. They're the creators of the popular
- 0:14Speaker 1: series Black Love that airs on the own network. UM
- 0:18Speaker 1: two great numbers uh in season three. Like I stated earlier,
- 0:21Speaker 1: the goal is to become the hub for black couples
- 0:24Speaker 1: and singles looking to build community and conversation around healthy
- 0:28Speaker 1: relationships at every stage of life. Please welcome back to
- 0:33Speaker 1: money making conversation. My favorite couple, Cody and Tommy Oliver,
- 0:39Speaker 1: your favorite couples. You got to, you know, because y'all
- 0:43Speaker 1: y'all doing what so many people have said. It is
- 0:46Speaker 1: a problem in the in the black community, not understanding
- 0:49Speaker 1: relationships amongst each other, not communicating with each other. And
- 0:53Speaker 1: it also you know, I don't know, are you helping
- 0:56Speaker 1: to find what black relationships can be? And they and
- 1:01Speaker 1: when I say that, I mean they could be so
- 1:02Speaker 1: many different levels and so sometimes you know, I come
- 1:06Speaker 1: from a traditional black family, you know, more from the South.
- 1:09Speaker 1: My mom didn't work, she stayed at home and and
- 1:12Speaker 1: a lot of African American's my age have that experience
- 1:16Speaker 1: like that. But technology has changed so many things, so
- 1:20Speaker 1: the experience of what black love is is being communicated
- 1:23Speaker 1: differently to so many people. And that's why you are
- 1:26Speaker 1: my favorite. Tell me favor that is incredibly kind and
- 1:31Speaker 1: we appreciate that a lot. Absolutely tell me what's going on?
- 1:34Speaker 1: Season three? Brother, Come on now, the season three? Yeah,
- 1:41Speaker 1: you seem to have the I I'm gonna have to
- 1:45Speaker 1: scoop that I'm gonna have some information. But to be
- 1:49Speaker 1: about it that you guys created this project, which which
- 1:52Speaker 1: I think is really let's go let's go back to
- 1:54Speaker 1: getting started. The first started because it was just an idea.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It was a concept where you called would I say,
- 2:00Speaker 1: called on favors to get people to reveal themselves in
- 2:04Speaker 1: an emotional manner as a couple. And then it and
- 2:07Speaker 1: then it aired and wail right, So we um you
- 2:12Speaker 1: are quite that simple. But it felt like Wall happened
- 2:20Speaker 1: for several years before it aired. But yeah, we we
- 2:24Speaker 1: certainly called on favors in terms of relationships with with
- 2:27Speaker 1: some friends and friends of friends and parents and friends
- 2:31Speaker 1: to sit down and have honest conversations. And Tommy and
- 2:34Speaker 1: I have kept it just the four of us in
- 2:35Speaker 1: a room met him and the couple. So there's no gaffer,
- 2:39Speaker 1: there's no p a, there's no you know, there's yeah,
- 2:44Speaker 1: the four of us. Tommy does all the production and
- 2:46Speaker 1: I just asked the question, and and so we keep
- 2:50Speaker 1: it really intimate. And then and we've and we've tried
- 2:52Speaker 1: to maintain that um through season one, season two and
- 2:58Speaker 1: what's to come. You know what, I think you may
- 3:03Speaker 1: have inspired us. I think we should probably make an announcement.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Sometimes here's the deal. Here's the deal, Tommy, you inspire me. Okay,
- 3:12Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about a little bit about the things
- 3:13Speaker 1: that you guys do outside of UH, outside of UH,
- 3:18Speaker 1: you know, black love because of the fact that this
- 3:21Speaker 1: is so important, because the fact that black people were
- 3:25Speaker 1: interesting group of people were interesting people. You know, we
- 3:27Speaker 1: don't talk about situations where it comes to health issues.
- 3:31Speaker 1: We don't even lads to talk about mental issues. You know,
- 3:35Speaker 1: we don't want to talk about I definitely want to
- 3:37Speaker 1: talk about these sexual issues. Okay, and so so we
- 3:40Speaker 1: we we were live in this little boxed world of
- 3:42Speaker 1: bad information, you know, and so and that bad information
- 3:47Speaker 1: really doesn't help because guess what, if you passing along
- 3:51Speaker 1: bad information leads to more ignorance, and so socially and
- 3:55Speaker 1: emotionally within our community we live, we live in a
- 3:59Speaker 1: box of lies. I believe in your show, I feel
- 4:05Speaker 1: starts to peel back the truth and allow people to
- 4:09Speaker 1: be honest. That's why, that's why I'm I'm fans because
- 4:12Speaker 1: of the fact that you know, it's an idea that
- 4:16Speaker 1: that that only YouTube could have thought of, because of
- 4:19Speaker 1: the fact that it was derived through through a trail
- 4:22Speaker 1: of emotions, through an idea of that this is the
- 4:26Speaker 1: truth and this is what's really happening and we want
- 4:28Speaker 1: to reveal it. That's why when I watched an episode,
- 4:31Speaker 1: you know, it's really intimate to me, and you know,
- 4:33Speaker 1: I see him sitting here close to each other on
- 4:35Speaker 1: the sofa. You know, nobody's you know, nobody's worried about
- 4:38Speaker 1: the shirt being buttoned up right of the pants. Talk
- 4:40Speaker 1: to they just you know, I'm be going, Okay, they
- 4:43Speaker 1: could have fixed their shirt right there, but this is
- 4:45Speaker 1: but this is this is the moment. You know, I'm
- 4:47Speaker 1: being a producer, you know what I'm saying. Trust me,
- 4:51Speaker 1: sometimes I'm thinking it too. But I'm also like, you
- 4:53Speaker 1: know what I don't want to stop what's what's happening
- 4:57Speaker 1: right now. I don't want to stop someone from sharing
- 5:00Speaker 1: what I'm saying by making themselves conscious. And so much
- 5:04Speaker 1: of it is, you know, like Cody said, it's the
- 5:06Speaker 1: four of his rown. And so when you're sitting down
- 5:09Speaker 1: with your friends or with your marriage mentors, if you
- 5:12Speaker 1: are fortunate enough to have them, and somebody's shirt has
- 5:16Speaker 1: had toning, you're not gonna be like, yo, bro, what's
- 5:17Speaker 1: up with your shirt? Right right, right, right right right,
- 5:20Speaker 1: because it will it will break the moment because it's like,
- 5:23Speaker 1: it's about our story about how we should look. You
- 5:27Speaker 1: feel me, yeah, and then that's what that's what you know.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I feel that that stops communication within the within the
- 5:34Speaker 1: our black families. And that's why when I look at
- 5:37Speaker 1: the show, when you first came on the show and
- 5:39Speaker 1: they sent me some take to review the show and
- 5:43Speaker 1: really get a clue understanding the show, my big takeaway
- 5:46Speaker 1: was thank you, thank you for allowing us to talk.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And what what hearing me speak like this? What has
- 5:54Speaker 1: been the most satisfied take away from you guys with
- 5:57Speaker 1: your show? I think it's been twofold one. There is
- 6:02Speaker 1: a sense of selfishness. And so we started the show
- 6:08Speaker 1: because there are a couple of reasons. The one was
- 6:10Speaker 1: because we didn't have the examples that we felt we
- 6:14Speaker 1: needed in order to be properly equipped and to be
- 6:17Speaker 1: able to have a marriage back into this name until
- 6:21Speaker 1: we wanted to talk to people who had done it.
- 6:23Speaker 1: And so I think we've learned a lot and we're
- 6:25Speaker 1: still struggling and working through things, but having gone through
- 6:29Speaker 1: these couples, in these interviews, in this experience, is certainly
- 6:33Speaker 1: given us tools that helps to this day of day.
- 6:37Speaker 1: But beyond that, like you said, the idea of there're
- 6:41Speaker 1: two things we don't see ourselves. So before this we
- 6:44Speaker 1: hadn't seen ourselves much in the right way. We were
- 6:47Speaker 1: always categorized or misrepresented on TV or on social media.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And but we knew sort of like privately, we knew
- 6:55Speaker 1: that there were couples that made our work. We knew
- 6:57Speaker 1: that you know, there was a nighbor, the neighbor across
- 7:00Speaker 1: us the street, or that you know, couple from the
- 7:01Speaker 1: church or whatever means been, but they just never got
- 7:04Speaker 1: any shutting. And so we wanted to be able to
- 7:07Speaker 1: show people, no, no, we are out there is happy
- 7:09Speaker 1: love and couples, and then we wanted to be able
- 7:11Speaker 1: to normalize the this understanding of marriage and how things
- 7:17Speaker 1: actually work, which is very different than if you take
- 7:20Speaker 1: your cues from TV or Phil Now when you stay.
- 7:25Speaker 1: When I was when I was reading some of your credits,
- 7:26Speaker 1: it was saying, Uh, the goal is to become the hub,
- 7:29Speaker 1: which means that you want to be a creative content.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Black couples and singles looking to build community and conversations
- 7:37Speaker 1: around healthy relationships at every stage were like, explain that
- 7:40Speaker 1: man explaining that format. So with with Some Black Love,
- 7:44Speaker 1: the series that is on own UM, we were able
- 7:48Speaker 1: to show couples, married couples making it work and what
- 7:52Speaker 1: that requires. Right UM. But one of the things that
- 7:55Speaker 1: we noticed is that in order to have a healthy,
- 7:59Speaker 1: happy relationship, a lot of the times the relationships of
- 8:03Speaker 1: your past and not you know, boyfriend's girlfriends exclusively, but
- 8:06Speaker 1: your parents, your siblings, your best friends, those relationships being fractured,
- 8:12Speaker 1: those relationships having trauma, those relationships being uncomfortable or as
- 8:16Speaker 1: you mentioned, you know, not talking about what's real. UM
- 8:20Speaker 1: play a role in your marriage because they play a
- 8:23Speaker 1: role in your expectations and UM and how you operate
- 8:26Speaker 1: in your patterns, and so we actually launch black love
- 8:30Speaker 1: dot Com to expand the conversation past marriage. You know,
- 8:34Speaker 1: we felt like it was important to keep talking about
- 8:36Speaker 1: marriage and partnership, but also to talk about those other
- 8:39Speaker 1: I guess tenants of one's life and how important it
- 8:43Speaker 1: is when we're trying to like build a relationship for decades, um,
- 8:48Speaker 1: to make sure that those other areas are healthy as well.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Because one of the absolute best things you can do
- 8:53Speaker 1: to give your relationships making it is being the best
- 8:57Speaker 1: you you can be yep. And so another extension of
- 9:01Speaker 1: that is actually coming up really soon. Um. So we
- 9:05Speaker 1: have done several live events, right Like, we'll take one
- 9:08Speaker 1: of our couples or two of our couples and we'll
- 9:10Speaker 1: go to different cities and we do two hours, We
- 9:13Speaker 1: have a conversation, we show clips from the show we've done.
- 9:16Speaker 1: We've done it with Kirk Franklin and Tammy and Dallas.
- 9:18Speaker 1: We've done it with Taj and Eddie George in Chicago.
- 9:21Speaker 1: We went to Atlanta with Tamia and Grant hill Um,
- 9:25Speaker 1: and then I think it was Tommy that had the
- 9:28Speaker 1: idea that we do a full day, and so we
- 9:30Speaker 1: did a full day in l a last year in
- 9:33Speaker 1: October of conversations around relationships, and we were able to
- 9:37Speaker 1: get even more specific than the show. And because there
- 9:41Speaker 1: were I don't know how many conversations that day, let's
- 9:43Speaker 1: say ten panel conversations with couples and then five people there,
- 9:48Speaker 1: you know, you're able to ask questions. You're able to say, hey,
- 9:51Speaker 1: this is my issue. Can somebody ay tell me I'm
- 9:54Speaker 1: not alone? And be helped me out? And so it
- 9:58Speaker 1: was really fun. And now we're doing it in Atlanta
- 10:01Speaker 1: the Black Summing. It's called the Black Love Summit. It's
- 10:03Speaker 1: a full day of conversation um in Atlanta on July twenty. Wow,
- 10:10Speaker 1: I means you gotta get a lot of stuff. Do
- 10:11Speaker 1: you gotta be some banners? You gotta give me up yet,
- 10:15Speaker 1: you know, because you have. But we gotta put Roshan
- 10:17Speaker 1: the work. You know, it comes to my town. I
- 10:18Speaker 1: gotta promote what. I gotta use my social media because
- 10:21Speaker 1: I just don't invite my friends on the show and
- 10:23Speaker 1: go okay, by good luck. No, we're here to sale tickets.
- 10:26Speaker 1: This is money making compensations, but it's it's fixes where
- 10:31Speaker 1: this question over this beginning asking about wanting us us
- 10:35Speaker 1: wanting to be the hub us wanting to facilitate all
- 10:38Speaker 1: the ways in which people consume what they need. And
- 10:41Speaker 1: so sometimes people want to watch a TV show. Sometimes
- 10:44Speaker 1: it will be on social media, sometimes it will be
- 10:47Speaker 1: a live event. And for us, it's trying to figure
- 10:49Speaker 1: out how we can strengthen, strengthening the black community and
- 10:52Speaker 1: put us in a better place to be and happy, long,
- 10:56Speaker 1: love the relationships, and so it's sort of, however we
- 11:00Speaker 1: can do that, we will. Well you're doing it, and
- 11:02Speaker 1: I hear very clean. First of all, you both are
- 11:04Speaker 1: passed producers, your directors, your EPs. So it wasn't like
- 11:09Speaker 1: you guys got a lot of people picture these TV
- 11:11Speaker 1: shows that don't have the history that you two have
- 11:14Speaker 1: to be able to pull this off. Like you said,
- 11:15Speaker 1: you're the only two people in the room. How many
- 11:17Speaker 1: people that's just not just a regular person walking in there.
- 11:20Speaker 1: You have the resume, you know, you know, being able
- 11:23Speaker 1: to say this is what I do for a living.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And so now what I know, we're about to one
- 11:28Speaker 1: minute left from this break. But says up exactly where
- 11:31Speaker 1: they can go July twenty, Atlanta, Georgia, where they can
- 11:34Speaker 1: go to get tickets? Where's the location? Uh? Black Love
- 11:38Speaker 1: dot Com, slash summits UM again Black Love Summit in
- 11:43Speaker 1: Atlanta on July twenties. Uh, tickets are pretty cheap, come on,
- 11:46Speaker 1: go get them. How we're doing. We've announced several couples
- 11:51Speaker 1: Egypt Sharad, Mike Jackson, Kevin and Melissa Fredericks. People know
- 11:55Speaker 1: him as keV on stage. We have another big announcement
- 11:58Speaker 1: coming tomorrow and Campbell are getting a keynote. We're having
- 12:03Speaker 1: an amazing luncheon by Gernard Well, the chef. I know, Well,
- 12:12Speaker 1: I would just tell you something. I will definitely do that,
- 12:14Speaker 1: but first of all, let's promote it. So definitely give
- 12:16Speaker 1: me all these banners. When you make that announcement of
- 12:19Speaker 1: that next guest, police in that banners. I can make
- 12:21Speaker 1: it on my social media. Got almost a million followers.
- 12:23Speaker 1: We crossed our platform. We were back with more of
- 12:25Speaker 1: my favorite power couple, UH, Cody and Tommy Oliver. I
- 12:30Speaker 1: just for Sean McDonald. You're listening to money making conversations. Uh,
- 12:34Speaker 1: this is a show that I started UM just as
- 12:37Speaker 1: a promotional to two years ago, just to promote my brand. Uh.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I would call my friends, they would come on the show,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and I didn't really know what I was talking about
- 12:45Speaker 1: didn't have a point of view. And then after four
- 12:47Speaker 1: weeks turned into three months, three months turned into a year,
- 12:50Speaker 1: and the year turned into two years. And and one
- 12:52Speaker 1: of the great couples that I had on my show
- 12:55Speaker 1: and that first year was Cody and Tommy oliver Um
- 12:59Speaker 1: reason I said they're a great couple because there's a
- 13:01Speaker 1: passion that drives their success, a commitment to a story storyteller.
- 13:06Speaker 1: And a lot of people understand when I say storytelling,
- 13:08Speaker 1: storytelling is it's not so much about how you look
- 13:12Speaker 1: what you say. We really is about what you say.
- 13:14Speaker 1: And they and they always has a beginning, mill and
- 13:16Speaker 1: the end, and it's an honest conversation. And that's what
- 13:19Speaker 1: they do with their series of Arizona Own Network. Now
- 13:22Speaker 1: they have a summit that's coming to Atlanta, Georgia July
- 13:25Speaker 1: twent will be in town because I'll be coming back
- 13:27Speaker 1: from Orlando, Florida, and I will be dropping by and
- 13:31Speaker 1: I also will be promoting We we talk real fast
- 13:34Speaker 1: about it. Let's let's low it down. Tell everybody about
- 13:37Speaker 1: the summit that's coming to Atlanta July twenty. So you know,
- 13:42Speaker 1: we have the Black Love Summit that we are hosting
- 13:44Speaker 1: in Atlanta that Atlanta is hosting for us. We're super
- 13:48Speaker 1: excited to just make it a part of the city. UM.
- 13:50Speaker 1: And we are bringing several of our couples from the
- 13:54Speaker 1: series UH and having conversations all day long around healthy relationships,
- 13:59Speaker 1: everything from UM dating for depths to being married and
- 14:03Speaker 1: juggling the parenting grinds UM couples and coins Rashawn UH,
- 14:10Speaker 1: you know how couples manage their finances get on the
- 14:12Speaker 1: same page. We're we're going to have a conversation about
- 14:16Speaker 1: the term submission, what that means in a marriage. Does
- 14:19Speaker 1: it apply to you? Does it not? UM? We we
- 14:23Speaker 1: are doing a panel of all husbands, five men talking
- 14:27Speaker 1: about what it what it means to be a husband
- 14:29Speaker 1: and five women UM doing a panel of wives. And
- 14:33Speaker 1: then we have a very cool UM event that we
- 14:36Speaker 1: just added because our our friend and partner Jeff Johnston
- 14:41Speaker 1: cousin Jeff as many people call him m Jeff, father
- 14:46Speaker 1: of five. Yeah, he's he's the homie and just the cool, smart, thoughtful,
- 14:51Speaker 1: caring dad who cares about UM. I'm a story to
- 14:54Speaker 1: Tommy the resident dad up in here. So we are
- 14:59Speaker 1: development of the cool podcast. Would having my own check.
- 15:03Speaker 1: But we're going to do a live recording of the podcast.
- 15:07Speaker 1: That's one of the events. So Tommy, you're about to
- 15:10Speaker 1: get about a podcast. That's what you're about to say. Podcast.
- 15:13Speaker 1: You're making an announcement on money making conversation, that's what
- 15:15Speaker 1: you're saying. You know, that would be one of two
- 15:18Speaker 1: announcements we make today. Make sure when there's like one
- 15:24Speaker 1: minute last night, give you the do you know it
- 15:28Speaker 1: was a couple of things that you're saying about the series.
- 15:31Speaker 1: If I can get a little tease detail you talk
- 15:34Speaker 1: about submissions when you talking about that the role and
- 15:39Speaker 1: I'm assuming that the role of the wife or the
- 15:41Speaker 1: role of the man when it comes to submission, can
- 15:43Speaker 1: you give us a little more detail because I'm trying
- 15:45Speaker 1: to build that momentum get everybody go ask me. I'm
- 15:49Speaker 1: there to tail talking about it. Here's the thing that's interesting, right,
- 15:53Speaker 1: is that it needs different things to different people. Yeah,
- 15:56Speaker 1: when you talk about physically, when you think about what
- 15:58Speaker 1: people talk about in their VW else are in the church,
- 16:00Speaker 1: and maybe it's antiquated, like maybe it's an old term
- 16:03Speaker 1: that's what we want to talk about. But when you
- 16:05Speaker 1: think of it that way, you know, it's about the
- 16:07Speaker 1: wife's submitting to her husband. And a lot of people
- 16:10Speaker 1: look at that term, that that word, that that that
- 16:12Speaker 1: sentence and go, why I'm not doing that? And some
- 16:15Speaker 1: people are like, well, that is what women do in
- 16:17Speaker 1: a marriage, and there's a reason for it. And so
- 16:20Speaker 1: we actually, Dondre what field is going to talk about
- 16:22Speaker 1: this with us talk for sure, and so we're we're
- 16:31Speaker 1: just taking a stance as much as disgusting. What does
- 16:34Speaker 1: it mean in your marriage? Um? And then too, you
- 16:37Speaker 1: know a lot of times we have single people in
- 16:39Speaker 1: the audience like what do you think of it? Are
- 16:41Speaker 1: you looking to do that? Are you looking not to
- 16:44Speaker 1: about it? It usually provokes a reaction one way or another,
- 16:48Speaker 1: and you talk about it like what, I'm not doing
- 16:51Speaker 1: that anyway? Because let me say, can I say this
- 16:55Speaker 1: to from our from our show, from our experience as
- 16:57Speaker 1: married people, UM, from conversationations that we have, there's no
- 17:02Speaker 1: one way. So we're not here to say we're not
- 17:05Speaker 1: where none of these conversations are. This is what you
- 17:07Speaker 1: must do to have a happy, healthy marriage prescriptive and
- 17:11Speaker 1: that with right, but we are taking ideas right. You
- 17:14Speaker 1: mentioned that that certain generations, you know, the mom or
- 17:18Speaker 1: the wife stays home and there are the kids and
- 17:20Speaker 1: cooks and the husband goes. You know, as we change
- 17:23Speaker 1: from generation to generation, what is what is? What do
- 17:26Speaker 1: we need to change about our relationships? So, for example,
- 17:30Speaker 1: I hadn't got a lot of this until just now
- 17:32Speaker 1: when we're talking about submission. And if I were to
- 17:35Speaker 1: answer what pumission means for me in my marriage and
- 17:37Speaker 1: the idea a phrase that I've said before in marriage
- 17:41Speaker 1: as the guy you can be right or you can
- 17:43Speaker 1: be happy. He's one. And so for me, that's a
- 17:46Speaker 1: level of submitting to the marriage, putting the marriage above
- 17:50Speaker 1: what you may naturally want or do to be right.
- 17:54Speaker 1: And so that's what submission is. So you're saying, Tommy,
- 17:58Speaker 1: there are times where you act right and you know
- 18:03Speaker 1: you submit to being wrong absolutely, but it does not.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I love it. This is absolutely true. I'm okay, what Racio,
- 18:15Speaker 1: that happens. That's universal, that's universal. Hispanic Asian. Hey, we
- 18:19Speaker 1: all we all give in, ladies, we give in. We
- 18:21Speaker 1: give in, and we're smaller, we're smaller. Public say we're smaller,
- 18:28Speaker 1: but we will give in any time. You know, because
- 18:35Speaker 1: I'm about to go into a quick conversation about the
- 18:37Speaker 1: other thing that nugget that you said, it was about
- 18:39Speaker 1: the role of the husband, his role, and you're gonna
- 18:43Speaker 1: have a five minute on stage talking about that, and
- 18:47Speaker 1: I want to turn to Tommy and talk about that
- 18:49Speaker 1: a little bit and give us some some wisdom terminologies
- 18:53Speaker 1: that that's going to come out of that session. So
- 18:57Speaker 1: this will be our second time doing this. We did
- 18:59Speaker 1: it last year at the first timmit and this will
- 19:01Speaker 1: been the second time. And it's really the sort of
- 19:05Speaker 1: conversations that you know, you sometimes get when you've got
- 19:08Speaker 1: just guys hanging out. You know, guys were married different
- 19:11Speaker 1: so it's not you know, out looking for women. It's
- 19:14Speaker 1: guys who are out and who are committed. And so
- 19:16Speaker 1: the conversations that happened privately about what it takes to
- 19:20Speaker 1: actually make this thing work. And there are things that
- 19:24Speaker 1: there are things that we need to do differently, and
- 19:26Speaker 1: there are things that are are women are doing or guys, um,
- 19:31Speaker 1: they're just driving us crazy. And so part of it
- 19:33Speaker 1: is how do we deal with those things, how do
- 19:35Speaker 1: we make sure that we are the best possible partner
- 19:39Speaker 1: and and all of what that looks like. So it
- 19:42Speaker 1: could be a hundred different things, or it could be
- 19:45Speaker 1: human as simple as making sure you still give your
- 19:48Speaker 1: partner the minutit of the doubt. There's so many times
- 19:50Speaker 1: where as as time goes on, you become short and snappy,
- 19:56Speaker 1: and the things that didn't bother you in the beginning
- 19:58Speaker 1: now all of a sudden and so World War three.
- 20:01Speaker 1: But if you're your best friend, way to do it. Oh,
- 20:03Speaker 1: it's fine, and she was just ten minutes late. Yeah,
- 20:06Speaker 1: if your spouse shows up ten minutes lade, it's like,
- 20:10Speaker 1: who do you think you are? You're so disrespectful And
- 20:13Speaker 1: I couldn't believe you left me waiting here for ten minutes, right,
- 20:18Speaker 1: definitely hang. And so there's those sorts of things. And
- 20:23Speaker 1: also there's a we we as men we need that
- 20:27Speaker 1: are menu to talk to. We are the men to
- 20:29Speaker 1: talk to who are going to keep us accountable and
- 20:32Speaker 1: not to see like, well, yeah, she's crazy. Did you
- 20:36Speaker 1: say that to me? Because I would tell you though
- 20:38Speaker 1: I never I never share my my relationship with it
- 20:42Speaker 1: and my friends. You know, it's kind of like we
- 20:44Speaker 1: talk sports, we talk food, we talk sports, you know,
- 20:48Speaker 1: and so that's that's that's my conversation with my boys. Now,
- 20:50Speaker 1: you know, we want to know anything else. You know,
- 20:52Speaker 1: we got problems. Why are you asking and so cutting
- 20:56Speaker 1: through that mystery that you're that you're doing this panel.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I think it's really really good and uh and and
- 21:02Speaker 1: like I said, this is a passion project that I
- 21:05Speaker 1: love talking to you too about because it's started with love.
- 21:09Speaker 1: It's gonna be built on love, and it's gonna be
- 21:12Speaker 1: you guys are going to become you know, content creators,
- 21:15Speaker 1: content builders, holders of this information and distributors of this information.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And I think that's amazing that you've been able to
- 21:21Speaker 1: find this level of balance in your personal life and
- 21:24Speaker 1: your professional life and something that's a passion driven project
- 21:27Speaker 1: that can make money. We didn't say we had any
- 21:31Speaker 1: balance in our personal life. What'd you saying? I said,
- 21:36Speaker 1: we didn't say we have any balance in our personal life.
- 21:39Speaker 1: You don't have no balance. Three kids? Three you're talking
- 21:45Speaker 1: to me on this radio show right now, this podcast.
- 21:47Speaker 1: That's balance. Because if kids somewhere else, someone somebody else
- 21:50Speaker 1: take care. I know what balance is. I got a kid, okay,
- 21:53Speaker 1: and they are in the interview of my life. There
- 21:55Speaker 1: is balanced. So somebody's taking care. That's the balance I'm
- 21:58Speaker 1: talking about. But when But I do. We have two
- 22:01Speaker 1: minutes left and I wanted to uh comment up Tommy
- 22:04Speaker 1: comment a little bit on uh Flint, Michigan and what's
- 22:07Speaker 1: going on there. If you can update us on what's
- 22:08Speaker 1: going on up there, I really appreciate it. Uh it
- 22:10Speaker 1: made the news real big and you knows, and it
- 22:13Speaker 1: just dropped off. What is that just going up there?
- 22:15Speaker 1: If you can help us out a little bit before
- 22:16Speaker 1: we wrap up the interview, because I need one minute
- 22:19Speaker 1: left for you guys to give me the dramatic tease.
- 22:23Speaker 1: So we are doing a project cost length and really
- 22:27Speaker 1: talent to writer director named Malcolm may is directing it
- 22:30Speaker 1: and in partner with Overbrook on it, and we're shooting
- 22:34Speaker 1: it Inflint, and it's a it's a story where it's
- 22:37Speaker 1: not about the Flint water crisis, but the Flint water
- 22:40Speaker 1: crisis is the backdrop. And as such, we wanted to
- 22:44Speaker 1: try to continue to make sure that people are thinking
- 22:47Speaker 1: about it and pushing the narrative because they're still struggling
- 22:51Speaker 1: out there, and people just it's out of sight, out
- 22:53Speaker 1: of mind, and so as such, where the movie is
- 22:56Speaker 1: going to be shot in Flint, we're gonna use Flint
- 22:59Speaker 1: arties and for us, that was the only thing that
- 23:02Speaker 1: we were ever gonna do. So we we don't we're not.
- 23:06Speaker 1: We don't have date set yet, but it'll will probably
- 23:09Speaker 1: shoot either later this year. Easy to talking next year.
- 23:12Speaker 1: But we're still figuring out everything and we got to
- 23:15Speaker 1: really awesome talents on word and it's a it's a
- 23:19Speaker 1: meaningful and really cool project. Cody, you got seconds, give
- 23:25Speaker 1: me that big tea some Season three. Okay, so you
- 23:28Speaker 1: alluded to it. Season three of Black Love will return August,
- 23:37Speaker 1: and you heard you did? You heard it? Here for banners.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I'm creating banners August the Black Twined the Black So
- 23:46Speaker 1: Black Love Summit in Atlanta, Jogia August Tip on their
- 23:50Speaker 1: own network the season three premier, Black Love. I know
- 23:55Speaker 1: how to promote my favorite couple keep winning that. I'm
- 23:59Speaker 1: gonna see y'all on July twenty
