- 1:31Speaker 6: I got to turn the mouth turn.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Probably got to turn mouth out the water the money,
- 1:49Speaker 4: look me. Come come on, you'll think.
- 2:01Speaker 7: Aha, I sure will. Good morning everybody. You all listening
- 2:05Speaker 7: to the voice, Come on, dig me now. One and
- 2:08Speaker 7: only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Hell Man back
- 2:13Speaker 7: in business too, Man Man, How good is God? I mean, really,
- 2:18Speaker 7: if you think about it in spite of all that's
- 2:20Speaker 7: going down in your life.
- 2:22Speaker 8: First of all, it could be worse. But secondly, sometimes
- 2:25Speaker 8: you have to remember. And I've just had to have
- 2:28Speaker 8: this conversation with myself this morning. That's how I'm fresh
- 2:32Speaker 8: on this one right here. When a challenge faces you,
- 2:36Speaker 8: are you going through a difficult moment, or you didn't
- 2:39Speaker 8: hit a bump in the road in the middle of that,
- 2:43Speaker 8: If you could manage to be grateful, it would take
- 2:45Speaker 8: you a long way. Gratitude is a powerful resource if
- 2:51Speaker 8: you can be grateful in the middle of it. Gratitude
- 2:55Speaker 8: is a powerful resource when it's dim for you and
- 3:00Speaker 8: got a little bumpy on the road, and he ran
- 3:03Speaker 8: into some obstacles. And you done ran up into some
- 3:05Speaker 8: detailed signs, and your journey ain't smooth as it was.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Last week or last year.
- 3:13Speaker 8: You gotta be grateful for the things that are going
- 3:17Speaker 8: right and that have gone right, and for the thing
- 3:20Speaker 8: that's wrong right now to get right?
- 3:23Speaker 9: Man?
- 3:23Speaker 2: Can I share that with you?
- 3:25Speaker 9: Man?
- 3:25Speaker 8: Is that a tough one to learn? It is for me.
- 3:28Speaker 8: It has been one of my toughest challenges is to
- 3:32Speaker 8: learn how to be grateful, because it's a powerful resource,
- 3:37Speaker 8: but how to be grateful in moments of despair when
- 3:40Speaker 8: it ain't going right. See here's a mistake I would make.
- 3:43Speaker 8: See when something go wrong, I want to focus on
- 3:46Speaker 8: the wrong so much in an.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Attempt to fix it.
- 3:50Speaker 8: But even then the focus ain't always in to fix it.
- 3:54Speaker 8: The focus becomes, Man, this is bad, man, I can't
- 3:58Speaker 8: believe this is happening. Why just keep going down? That
- 4:02Speaker 8: doesn't fix anything, you know, mealing over it, going over what's.
- 4:07Speaker 10: Wrong, explaining it, sharing it with your friends, you know,
- 4:14Speaker 10: making it sound worse than it is, tell the story
- 4:18Speaker 10: for pity from other people. All of that right there,
- 4:20Speaker 10: has nothing to do with the fix. Sometimes you're just
- 4:23Speaker 10: mulling over it. You're just making it worse. You're just
- 4:26Speaker 10: making it a bigger problem. You're manifesting it into your atmosphere,
- 4:31Speaker 10: You're putting it out there in your spirit. Now all
- 4:33Speaker 10: of a sudden, it consumes your day. Next thing, you know,
- 4:36Speaker 10: you're having a bad day. If you're having a bad day,
- 4:39Speaker 10: it's because you've been having some bad thoughts. So what
- 4:42Speaker 10: I've had to learn how to do, and what I'm
- 4:44Speaker 10: working on this morning is I'm working on the situation
- 4:48Speaker 10: that Ben cropped up. I was going kind of smooth
- 4:51Speaker 10: here for a minute, and now then got real bumpy
- 4:53Speaker 10: in the road, you know, and all this here. So
- 4:56Speaker 10: what I'm thinking about now, though, is even though I've
- 4:59Speaker 10: hit a bump in the road, and even though I
- 5:01Speaker 10: done ran into a detour, and even though I've hit
- 5:05Speaker 10: this lull, I'm going down into a valley, I ain't
- 5:09Speaker 10: up on the peak.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Can I not.
- 5:11Speaker 8: Still be grateful for all the things that God has
- 5:15Speaker 8: given me, for all the things He's done for me,
- 5:18Speaker 8: for all the things He's bought me through, And realizing
- 5:22Speaker 8: that even this that's happening to me again is going
- 5:26Speaker 8: to pass to He gonna get me through that too.
- 5:29Speaker 8: Come on, man, God is a good god man. It's
- 5:32Speaker 8: a lot to be grateful for. So while I'm tripping
- 5:34Speaker 8: on this bumping the road out in here, what I
- 5:36Speaker 8: got to remember is all the things He's done for me.
- 5:39Speaker 8: And like I say, my saying is join depression cannot
- 5:42Speaker 8: reside in the same place. So instead of being down
- 5:45Speaker 8: about this new bumping the road, if I'm constantly filling
- 5:49Speaker 8: my mind with the thoughts of how good He's been
- 5:51Speaker 8: to me, of what all he's done for me, of
- 5:54Speaker 8: all the things he's brought me through, of all the
- 5:57Speaker 8: blessings he's presented me with, when I go down that,
- 6:00Speaker 8: I really don't have a lot of time to mull
- 6:04Speaker 8: over the situation.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Now.
- 6:07Speaker 8: Do I have to fix this bump in the row?
- 6:10Speaker 8: Of course I do. Are There's some things I'm going
- 6:12Speaker 8: to have to do to straighten it out, of course
- 6:15Speaker 8: it is. But Steve just going to get the business
- 6:17Speaker 8: of doing it and straighten it out. What you mulling
- 6:20Speaker 8: over and worrying about it for you know.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Old people.
- 6:23Speaker 8: I heard old people say something when I was growing
- 6:25Speaker 8: up in the church. They say, if you're gonna pray
- 6:27Speaker 8: about it, don't worry about it. But if you're gonna
- 6:29Speaker 8: worry about it, don't pray about it. That's an amazing thing.
- 6:33Speaker 8: And prayer just happens to be my weapon of choice. Now,
- 6:37Speaker 8: it ain't always been that way. I want you to
- 6:39Speaker 8: understand that my first weapon of choice was you do
- 6:42Speaker 8: it to me, I do it to you. You called
- 6:44Speaker 8: me out, I call you out. You say something bad
- 6:47Speaker 8: about me. I've tried to find you say something bad
- 6:49Speaker 8: about you. That was my weapon in the past. How
- 6:53Speaker 8: did that work out for you, Steve? Not so good?
- 6:56Speaker 8: Because you know what, I spend a lot of time
- 7:00Speaker 8: fighting back, kicking back, swinging back, when I could have
- 7:04Speaker 8: spent all that time climbing. See all you trying to
- 7:07Speaker 8: do at the end of the day, folks, is have
- 7:09Speaker 8: a better life than the one you got. All you
- 7:12Speaker 8: trying to do is to improve your position in life.
- 7:15Speaker 8: You know, it's not my business to make sure you
- 7:17Speaker 8: don't get where you're going. I ain't got no time
- 7:20Speaker 8: for that. It's not my job to assure that you
- 7:23Speaker 8: ain't as high as me. I ain't got no time
- 7:26Speaker 8: for that. Your real mission and purpose is to have
- 7:30Speaker 8: the best life that you can have to ascend to
- 7:33Speaker 8: the highest plateau that you can get to to make
- 7:36Speaker 8: your family as comfortable as you can, to provide as
- 7:40Speaker 8: much as you can for your family.
- 7:42Speaker 2: But legally, see, those.
- 7:43Speaker 8: Of us are sitting up here trying to come up
- 7:45Speaker 8: with sideways. You can ask a couple million men sitting
- 7:48Speaker 8: in prison today how they wish they hadn't have done that,
- 7:51Speaker 8: and they'll tell you, Oh, man, I wish I never
- 7:55Speaker 8: had did it. I knew not to go down there.
- 7:58Speaker 8: Something told me not to go down there. Man, if
- 8:00Speaker 8: I could change things, I would. But they sitting somewhere
- 8:04Speaker 8: doing some time that had they made another decision, they
- 8:08Speaker 8: wouldn't have to do now. That don't make them throw
- 8:10Speaker 8: away people, nah, man, Because everybody make mistakes, and God
- 8:14Speaker 8: is in the forgiving business. And some of us have
- 8:16Speaker 8: done some things that really broke the law, and a
- 8:20Speaker 8: whole lot of other things and deserve to do some time,
- 8:23Speaker 8: But through the grace of God, we didn't. But now
- 8:25Speaker 8: we sit up here we pass judgment on people who
- 8:27Speaker 8: got to do some matter. I don't care. I don't
- 8:29Speaker 8: care what you've done. God can forgive anything. But our position,
- 8:33Speaker 8: our motivation in life is to try to have the
- 8:37Speaker 8: best life we can have and provide for those around
- 8:39Speaker 8: us and make it comfortable. If that's your ambition, you
- 8:43Speaker 8: don't have time to worry about or concern yourself with
- 8:47Speaker 8: another person. And I wasted time doing that, And that's
- 8:52Speaker 8: not the way to get it done. It's simply mine
- 8:55Speaker 8: to your business. Taking care of you and getting yourself
- 8:58Speaker 8: right and tight is twenty four sais it?
- 9:00Speaker 2: So that's a full time job.
- 9:02Speaker 8: So what I had to learn was and what I've
- 9:05Speaker 8: the reason I've chosen prayers as my weapon of choice
- 9:09Speaker 8: now is that now prayer helps me that I don't
- 9:13Speaker 8: have to fight back. Now, if I get cornered, I'm
- 9:16Speaker 8: gonna fight you. I ain't even gonna lie to you.
- 9:19Speaker 8: And now I'm still working on some things that trigger me.
- 9:23Speaker 8: You know, you know, you know, and and so I'm
- 9:28Speaker 8: I'm slowly getting better at that. But I've learned that
- 9:32Speaker 8: my weapon of choice is prayer now. So when it
- 9:36Speaker 8: happens ugly for me, I pray about it. When it
- 9:39Speaker 8: gets tight and dismal for me, I pray about it.
- 9:43Speaker 8: And the thing about prayer, man, is prayer changes things. Yes,
- 9:48Speaker 8: it does. Now read about it and try it. That's
- 9:53Speaker 8: the deal. Okay, come on, Prayer is a wonderful weapon.
- 9:57Speaker 11: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:03Speaker 8: Ladies and gentlemen, let me have you undivided attention. Another
- 10:06Speaker 8: day is upon us, another opportunity, another blessing. God is good,
- 10:11Speaker 8: always has been, always will be.
- 10:13Speaker 9: You know.
- 10:14Speaker 8: Please please recognize and honor the fact that waking up
- 10:20Speaker 8: is not a giving y'all. It really is a blessing. Man,
- 10:23Speaker 8: It's really special. It really is special to get up
- 10:26Speaker 8: every day. And when you wake up, man, that's the
- 10:28Speaker 8: first thing you should do. Just say God, I really
- 10:31Speaker 8: do appreciate you waking me up this morning. Cool way
- 10:33Speaker 8: to start your day. And then I go down to
- 10:35Speaker 8: everything else. I think it for my health, I think
- 10:38Speaker 8: it for my lifestyle. I think it for my family,
- 10:40Speaker 8: especially thinking for my wife or thinking for all the blessing.
- 10:44Speaker 8: And I'm thinking for everything that he's working on behind
- 10:46Speaker 8: the scenes.
- 10:47Speaker 2: That I don't know what is going on, and Buddy.
- 10:51Speaker 8: I expect great things to happen. I'm looking for a
- 10:54Speaker 8: blessing today, y'all. Already gave me one. Already gave me one.
- 10:58Speaker 8: He woke me up. Once he wakes me up, I
- 11:01Speaker 8: know something good can happen because he ain't through with
- 11:04Speaker 8: me yet and my request list is strong.
- 11:07Speaker 2: So let's get it and that's how we do it.
- 11:09Speaker 8: Steve Robert Martinshaw, Shirley Strawberry calling for real Mississippi, Monica
- 11:13Speaker 8: Junior and the legend that is Nephew Tommy Junior.
- 11:17Speaker 2: What's on your mind today?
- 11:18Speaker 11: Man?
- 11:19Speaker 12: Let me let me ask you something you know you've
- 11:21Speaker 12: been You've been rich a long time.
- 11:26Speaker 1: It changes you know, it changes you.
- 11:28Speaker 12: But do you have a do you have an issue
- 11:30Speaker 12: with regular living? Do you have like regular stuff is
- 11:33Speaker 12: not exciting?
- 11:34Speaker 8: Well, let's talk about two things. First of all, money
- 11:37Speaker 8: does not change you. That's what the one thing.
- 11:40Speaker 1: After it doesn't Okay.
- 11:42Speaker 8: It doesn't change your Money allows you to be more
- 11:44Speaker 8: of who you really are. If you are a kind person,
- 11:50Speaker 8: when you get a lot of money, you'll be kinder.
- 11:53Speaker 8: If you're a generous person, when you get money, you'll
- 11:55Speaker 8: become more generous. If you're a stingy person, when you
- 11:59Speaker 8: get a lot of money, you become extra strategy. If
- 12:02Speaker 8: you're a butthole, when you get a lot of money
- 12:06Speaker 8: you get you.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Graduate to a hole.
- 12:11Speaker 8: Yeah, so when you see people with money, that's Buttholes
- 12:15Speaker 8: is because that's who they really are. Okay, they with
- 12:18Speaker 8: that before, they just needed that money to bring it out.
- 12:21Speaker 8: Now the next part of your question, you do I
- 12:23Speaker 8: have trouble with regular living? Yeah, pretty much.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Pretty much?
- 12:28Speaker 1: What regular to you?
- 12:31Speaker 2: I don't know like y'all.
- 12:32Speaker 8: Y'all would have to ask me, because it's a lot.
- 12:34Speaker 8: I fire man could be a little bit out of
- 12:37Speaker 8: touch with stuff like I ain't been to the gas station,
- 12:41Speaker 8: the grocery store and stuff like that, so I'm kind.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Of you're out of touch or going to the grocery store.
- 12:47Speaker 2: It ain't no regular trip When I go to the
- 12:49Speaker 2: grocery store.
- 12:50Speaker 1: You ain't gotta worry about it all the time.
- 12:53Speaker 8: I go grocery store. I got problem. I gotta take
- 12:55Speaker 8: pictures down in the grocery store. I don't know what
- 12:58Speaker 8: nothing that in grocery store no more. I don't know
- 13:00Speaker 8: where they keep the bread? I mean in there?
- 13:02Speaker 1: Just lost?
- 13:03Speaker 11: Do they know?
- 13:04Speaker 1: I know they know you Steve? What do they do
- 13:06Speaker 1: with you?
- 13:07Speaker 13: Man?
- 13:07Speaker 1: And I got mobbed.
- 13:09Speaker 8: The only store I go to consistently is Bass Pro Shop.
- 13:13Speaker 8: That's the only store I go to consistently. And I
- 13:16Speaker 8: know what's gonna happen when I get in. But when
- 13:18Speaker 8: I get in the fishing section, there's all these men
- 13:20Speaker 8: in here that fishing. We exchange ideas, then when they
- 13:23Speaker 8: find out who I am, they get excited.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I gotta take a picture.
- 13:26Speaker 8: But vans Pro is usually good people because they're in
- 13:28Speaker 8: there for the same thing we trying to read these packages.
- 13:33Speaker 11: All right, thanks, guys, coming up at thirty two minutes

- 13:45Speaker 11: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Do you think astronauts fight over elbow room?
- 13:55Speaker 8: Probably because the dvanced tech doesn't always mean more space.

- 14:39Speaker 12: You have a park and had a problem with the valet.
- 14:42Speaker 12: Well I have So here we go cat problem at

- 16:35Speaker 16: With my car.
- 16:36Speaker 14: Like I said, my manager won't handle it. I have
- 16:39Speaker 14: to keep going.

- 16:47Speaker 15: Hello.
- 16:48Speaker 9: Hello, Is this is this mister Franklin?
- 16:51Speaker 13: Yeah?
- 16:51Speaker 15: This is he can ask his calling.
- 16:53Speaker 9: This is tough man. I'm the manager down at the vallet.
- 16:56Speaker 15: Oh great, thank you. I've been waiting to hear from you.
- 16:58Speaker 9: Oh my god, thirty minutes to go. You you pulled

- 17:03Speaker 9: light great lexus?
- 17:05Speaker 15: Yeah, that's that's yeah, that's my car. What what's going
- 17:07Speaker 15: on with my car here?
- 17:08Speaker 9: Okay? And what's your numbers? It? Five three, four six?
- 17:11Speaker 15: Yeah, that's that's my number. I mean, I already went
- 17:14Speaker 15: through this with the other guy. Can you just tell
- 17:15Speaker 15: me what the hell is going on with my car?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Okay?
- 17:17Speaker 9: Are you able to come downstairs right now?

- 17:26Speaker 15: Why do I need to come down right now?
- 17:27Speaker 16: He just what is happening?
- 17:29Speaker 9: Okay? So here's the deal, sir. We have a we
- 17:33Speaker 9: have a one of the valet workers here have gotten
- 17:37Speaker 9: that and he left, he quit the job, and he's
- 17:41Speaker 9: he's gone, he's left the premise. The problem we're having
- 17:44Speaker 9: right now is we don't see.
- 17:46Speaker 16: Your car, you know, and you don't see what do
- 17:50Speaker 16: you what?
- 17:50Speaker 17: I'm sorry?
- 17:50Speaker 9: What?
- 17:51Speaker 17: Well, I'm okay, okay, okay, wow, all right, so my
- 17:55Speaker 17: car is gone?
- 17:56Speaker 14: My car is gone?
- 17:57Speaker 9: Is that what you're telling me right now?
- 17:58Speaker 14: Somebody walk comes to want to work my car?
- 18:01Speaker 9: Well, well, well we're looking on every flour and we're

- 18:16Speaker 9: Just so with honey force do you have I wanted
- 18:18Speaker 9: to say.
- 18:19Speaker 16: I just bought that car. That is a brand new car.
- 18:22Speaker 14: And now it's just.
- 18:23Speaker 9: Man, are you kidding me? Right now? Well hold on,
- 18:25Speaker 9: hold on, I understand, I understand. Let me ask you something.
- 18:28Speaker 16: Is there a way? Is there a way?
- 18:31Speaker 9: Maybe you can come by tomorrow and we can try
- 18:33Speaker 9: to work some now and just see it.
- 18:35Speaker 17: You know, No, there is no way I'm coming by
- 18:38Speaker 17: tomorrow for a call us.
- 18:40Speaker 9: This is today.
- 18:41Speaker 15: First of all, we need to get the police involved
- 18:43Speaker 15: in this.
- 18:46Speaker 9: Police right now, mister Frank, we don't want to get
- 18:50Speaker 9: the police involved in this week, Willie.

- 19:01Speaker 9: If you just give me some time to find a car,
- 19:03Speaker 9: That's all I want you to do, is give me
- 19:04Speaker 9: some time. Let me go by this guy's house where
- 19:06Speaker 9: he lives and see if the car is there.
- 19:08Speaker 17: You should already be in a car driving. Don't ask
- 19:12Speaker 17: to this man's house talking to me right now, Okay.
- 19:15Speaker 17: The fact that you're not there, it's not practice. I'm

- 19:54Speaker 17: I'm mad at Orlando, I'm mad at you, I'm mad
- 19:57Speaker 17: at your company.
- 19:57Speaker 9: I'm at the man.
- 19:58Speaker 17: Who put this asphalt down in the parking line. I'm
- 20:00Speaker 17: not at everybody right now. Okay, Cliff, Okay.
- 20:03Speaker 9: Okay, okay, we can down, Okay, but let me ask
- 20:05Speaker 9: you this are you?
- 20:06Speaker 8: Are you?
- 20:06Speaker 9: Are you mad at Are you mad at your wife?
- 20:10Speaker 18: What is not of my wife?
- 20:12Speaker 16: But what does still a car?
- 20:13Speaker 14: That's your wife name, Carrie?
- 20:15Speaker 16: How the hell do you know my wife's name?
- 20:16Speaker 9: You know how I know your wife's name because your
- 20:18Speaker 9: wife got me to call you. This is nephew Tommy

- 20:28Speaker 9: by everybody us.
- 20:31Speaker 17: Oh boy, we're going to marriage counsel.
- 20:32Speaker 9: This This is y'all. You have this boy, she said,
- 20:39Speaker 9: he just bought this car. He loves this car outside,

- 20:52Speaker 2: You know what.
- 20:56Speaker 9: Hey man, I mean is what is the baddest that
- 20:58Speaker 9: I'm talking about? The baddest radio show in the land.
- 21:02Speaker 15: It's the Steve Harvey Morton.
- 21:08Speaker 1: There you go, sure, problem at the vallet. You're like, yeah,
- 21:15Speaker 1: he's what do you do?

- 21:24Speaker 1: That's next year.
- 21:26Speaker 11: All right, thank you Junior as Tommy and in for
- 21:30Speaker 11: Tommy coming up next as the CELO D Chief Love
- 21:32Speaker 11: Officer Steve Harvey in the building.

- 22:12Speaker 11: Coming up at the top of the hour in entertainment News,
- 22:15Speaker 11: we will recap the weekend's trending topics and top news stories.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Of course, we got a great show plan for you.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. We got you, We got you.
- 22:24Speaker 1: That's all coming up at the top of the hour.
- 22:26Speaker 11: But right now it is time to ask the CLO
- 22:29Speaker 11: our Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey. This is from AMR
- 22:33Speaker 11: in Pensacola, a mere rights. My youngest sister is twenty two,
- 22:37Speaker 11: and I found out that my forty year old friend
- 22:40Speaker 11: has been out with her a few times. I told
- 22:43Speaker 11: him I didn't appreciate it, and he told my sister.
- 22:46Speaker 11: She called and went off on me. I hate that
- 22:49Speaker 11: she's mad at me. Should I mind my business?
- 22:53Speaker 8: You should mind your own business, but she is your business?
- 22:58Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 22:58Speaker 1: Interesting?
- 22:59Speaker 8: And if you know and official sister, and if you
- 23:01Speaker 8: know something about this man that she don't know, which
- 23:05Speaker 8: is probably one of your problems, and she just gonna
- 23:09Speaker 8: have to be mad. See if I know you ain't
- 23:12Speaker 8: about nothing, and you after my sister or my daughter,
- 23:17Speaker 8: I'm gonna have something to say about it.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I'm push this side. Yeah yeah, but I'm not gonna
- 23:22Speaker 2: let it go. I'm just not gonna do that. I
- 23:24Speaker 2: have never done and I never will.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Okay, So yeah, yeah, I love it. His sister is
- 23:33Speaker 1: your business. Your sister is your business, like you said, Colo,
- 23:36Speaker 1: all right. Moving on to Felicia, I mean she could
- 23:38Speaker 1: be mad at me. I'm gonna say, look, Sis, I'm
- 23:41Speaker 1: just doing this because I know him. Now you know
- 23:43Speaker 1: what you want to do because you're grown. But I
- 23:45Speaker 1: know him. She's twenty two, he's forty.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Come on them. Yeah, all right.
- 23:51Speaker 11: Moving on to Felicia and Newark. Felicia writes, I haven't
- 23:55Speaker 11: seen one of my old friends in years, and I
- 23:57Speaker 11: ran into her recently. She was acting funny and said
- 24:01Speaker 11: she can see I'm a superstar.
- 24:03Speaker 14: Now.
- 24:04Speaker 11: Yes, I have a great job and a nice car.
- 24:07Speaker 11: What do some friends hate on you instead of celebrating you?
- 24:11Speaker 9: Why?
- 24:12Speaker 2: Okay?
- 24:16Speaker 8: Because and and and let me tell you something, some
- 24:20Speaker 8: people that's from your past need to stay right there. Yes,
- 24:24Speaker 8: that part, and people who can see that you're doing
- 24:29Speaker 8: better and are envious of it and say that to
- 24:31Speaker 8: you right now, that's okay, Hey, God bless you. I'm
- 24:35Speaker 8: gonna pray for you, hope all is well, and never
- 24:38Speaker 8: look back. I get that all the time. You thank
- 24:42Speaker 8: you something now. No, I don't think nothing is You
- 24:44Speaker 8: think I'm something?
- 24:45Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 24:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I came up to you and spoke, my man,
- 24:49Speaker 2: what's going on?
- 24:50Speaker 1: Okay, we're out the gate with the hate.
- 24:56Speaker 8: Hey man, you don't even come to Cleveland no more. Bro,
- 25:00Speaker 8: I'm busy. They don't tape shows in Cleveland. I don't No,
- 25:04Speaker 8: I don't make it. So how come you don't never come?
- 25:07Speaker 8: I had to tell this one due, I said, Look, man,
- 25:09Speaker 8: going to Cleven's a little bit hard for me. Yeah,
- 25:12Speaker 8: because every time I go to Cleveland somebody out. I
- 25:14Speaker 8: buried somebody and said everybody I love, a lot of
- 25:19Speaker 8: people I love is gone. And the people that I
- 25:20Speaker 8: do love in Cleveland, they I've sent for them.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Right there, you go, all right, I think you explained
- 25:29Speaker 1: that quite well.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Colo.
- 25:31Speaker 11: Moving on to Tunisia in Atlanta, Tanisia writes, I'm thirty
- 25:35Speaker 11: eight and I just had my breath and.
- 25:40Speaker 1: My butt done.
- 25:41Speaker 11: Come on, girl, my husband paid for it and I
- 25:46Speaker 11: wanted to do the surgery because he cheated on me.
- 25:50Speaker 11: I'm still healing and he has started staying out all
- 25:54Speaker 11: night again. Should I take my new butt and find
- 25:57Speaker 11: a new man.
- 26:00Speaker 8: Put the booty on somebody. Well, I would put this
- 26:09Speaker 8: new meat to good use. Listen, I know you healing
- 26:16Speaker 8: and everything, and you try to do that because he cheated. Yeah,
- 26:20Speaker 8: but you getting your body together might not be the
- 26:23Speaker 8: cause of it. He could just be going through it
- 26:27Speaker 8: and that's what he is right now. Now, you can
- 26:30Speaker 8: cheat and get your life together. I want women to
- 26:34Speaker 8: stop thinking that once a cheater, always a CHEATERA That's
- 26:37Speaker 8: not true. It doesn't work that way. Men get to
- 26:40Speaker 8: get it together and make a lot of mistakes and
- 26:42Speaker 8: can get it together and become a better person. So
- 26:45Speaker 8: that's not always the case. And he's out now, Why
- 26:51Speaker 8: you healing staying out all night? When a man stay
- 26:55Speaker 8: out all night, I can't help him. I can't help you, dog,
- 27:02Speaker 8: because there's nothing out there all night.
- 27:04Speaker 2: But trouble.
- 27:05Speaker 8: Once you stay out all night is trouble. You have
- 27:09Speaker 8: got You've got to go home. It's only a way.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to fix this. You've got to go home.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, that's right.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Do you understand that's the most important lesson I learned
- 27:25Speaker 2: in my life. To go home, Go home, frum and
- 27:32Speaker 2: if you got a cool one to go to, that's
- 27:34Speaker 2: what you want.
- 27:37Speaker 14: Now.
- 27:37Speaker 8: Now, if it's trouble at the house, ain't nobody gonna
- 27:39Speaker 8: keep driving up to that because they're sitting out in
- 27:42Speaker 8: the driveway looking at the door, not wanting to go
- 27:45Speaker 8: in your house.
- 27:45Speaker 2: That ain't where you want to be.
- 27:49Speaker 11: And women, Steve, women have to stop doing things for
- 27:53Speaker 11: other people, like getting classic surgery, you know, for her husband.
- 27:57Speaker 11: If you want plastic surgery, get it for yourself, not
- 28:00Speaker 11: because you're trying to keep your manner.
- 28:02Speaker 8: In the words of the late Great Frankie Beverly, maids,
- 28:06Speaker 8: do it for yourself.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Joy and pain.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Come on now, sunshine, yeah.
- 28:14Speaker 8: And a ray, do it for yourself. Just do it,
- 28:18Speaker 8: do it for yourself. Listen and follow your instincts, I mean,
- 28:27Speaker 8: and your intuition. Women have a built in thing that
- 28:30Speaker 8: God provided you would call intuition is to protect you
- 28:34Speaker 8: from the predatory hunter that we are as men. If
- 28:38Speaker 8: you if your intuition tells you something, it's probably true. Yeah,
- 28:45Speaker 8: because you have that, because how many times have you
- 28:47Speaker 8: stopped seeing the guy went, I knew he wasn't no good.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Well, when you knew it, you should have stopped.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah, right, that's right.
- 28:57Speaker 8: They don't need to fighting that intuition because it's real.
- 29:00Speaker 8: Wish I had. I wish I had that thing women have,
- 29:03Speaker 8: man called intuition. I could save myself a.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Whole lot of pains we be knowing well and this poor.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Woman that had classic for this man and he still
- 29:17Speaker 3: needs to kill the women he said, yeah, come.
- 29:21Speaker 1: On, yeah. But this is from Johnson and Tulsa. Last one.
- 29:26Speaker 11: Steve Johnson writes, my wife had started wearing short shorts
- 29:29Speaker 11: and I love it. I love it, but it bothers
- 29:32Speaker 11: our sons, who are ages eighteen and twenty. I told
- 29:35Speaker 11: them to talk to her if it really bothers them.
- 29:39Speaker 11: And they think I should talk to her. Should I
- 29:42Speaker 11: entertain the boys or tell them to leave their mom alone?
- 29:46Speaker 8: Well, you know, man, listen, sure some stuff is age appropriate.
- 29:53Speaker 8: This is the first woman that the boys have ever loved,
- 29:57Speaker 8: and they see her as her mother. They don't I
- 30:00Speaker 8: want to see her as a Huci MoMA. You're enjoying
- 30:03Speaker 8: the Uchi mama stuff because it looks great to you.
- 30:06Speaker 8: She just shouldn't dress that way around her children, her sons.
- 30:10Speaker 8: And then y'all can go out and wear whatever you
- 30:13Speaker 8: want to wear. But it is only your job to
- 30:15Speaker 8: talk to them, not the boys. And that's why they
- 30:17Speaker 8: came to you. I try to be the father what
- 30:20Speaker 8: they say, let me call my day.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I got it.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I like that today from you. Okay, all right, thank you. Colo.
- 30:27Speaker 11: Coming up at the top of the hour, we'll have
- 30:28Speaker 11: some entertainment news for you right after this. You're listening
- 30:33Speaker 11: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Todd Christly from the chrisly Knows
- 30:40Speaker 11: Best reality show was part in last week by President Trump,
- 30:44Speaker 11: and so is tod wife Julie. Afters release, he did
- 30:48Speaker 11: a press conference in Nashville where he spoke on the
- 30:51Speaker 11: racial equality inequality that exists in the prison system.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Take a listen being.
- 30:56Speaker 2: In the prison system.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Anyone that says that it's fair, shake.
- 31:00Speaker 2: It's not.
- 31:01Speaker 18: Because I dealt with young African American males in the
- 31:04Speaker 18: prison that I was in that were not treated the same.
- 31:07Speaker 18: They were denied programming, they were denied access to certain things.
- 31:12Speaker 18: I was not denied that, but we know why I
- 31:14Speaker 18: wasn't denied that, And so I think that that is
- 31:17Speaker 18: a much bigger picture that we all as a society as.
- 31:20Speaker 1: A whole need to look at.
- 31:22Speaker 18: That we are one and whether you're a Republican, Democrat
- 31:26Speaker 18: or whatever, at the end of the day, when you're
- 31:27Speaker 18: in that hospital, you don't care if it's a Democrat
- 31:30Speaker 18: treating you or Republican. Now some of you may, but
- 31:33Speaker 18: I want whoever's going to be the best person to
- 31:35Speaker 18: do that.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Wow, we know that.
- 31:37Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, there could be some good come at
- 31:42Speaker 8: this now. You know, I know people, well how Trump
- 31:45Speaker 8: pardoned him, Well he out, you know, he wasn't in
- 31:49Speaker 8: for murder, physical things against other human being.
- 31:52Speaker 2: He's out.
- 31:53Speaker 8: I happen to like him as a person. We've always
- 31:55Speaker 8: gotten a long, dumb and show. So I thought he's
- 31:57Speaker 8: a nice guy. But what he said just now, it
- 32:00Speaker 8: could begin to move the needle. Because the lady that
- 32:04Speaker 8: Trump pardoned because of Kim Kardashian.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Alice Alice Johnson.
- 32:09Speaker 8: Yeah, who works in that department now, who looks at
- 32:12Speaker 8: these cases, can bring about some special light on this.
- 32:16Speaker 8: So you know, while I know the majority of people
- 32:19Speaker 8: are hating on Trump. We have to find some lining
- 32:24Speaker 8: in this that some good can come out. And his
- 32:28Speaker 8: pardoning him and getting him out here to say that,
- 32:30Speaker 8: and then he said him and is what he's going
- 32:32Speaker 8: to be an advocate to help people who are in
- 32:36Speaker 8: the system like that.
- 32:37Speaker 2: So this could be a blessing in this guy, right. Yeah.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Alice Marie Johnson, she's a reform advocate herself.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Yeah, she's a lar now.
- 32:47Speaker 11: She was named as the prisons are all right then
- 32:49Speaker 11: since Todd and Julie were pardon Since there, there has
- 32:52Speaker 11: been an outpouring of supportive and loyal fans of chrisly
- 32:56Speaker 11: Knows Best who want them to return to reality TV.
- 32:59Speaker 11: Todd and Jew's daughter Savannah has confirmed that they're already
- 33:02Speaker 11: filming a new reality show that will include footage of Todd.
- 33:06Speaker 1: And Julie's releases from prison. So there you go, back
- 33:10Speaker 1: to work. So moving on. This was the best thing
- 33:13Speaker 1: on IG over the weekend. I'm sure you guys all
- 33:15Speaker 1: saw it.
- 33:16Speaker 11: The videos from Johnny Gill's Memorial Day cookout slash birthday
- 33:20Speaker 11: party popped up all over social media.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I loved it. He could not stop talking about how
- 33:26Speaker 1: much fun everyone was having.
- 33:28Speaker 11: I was a star studded outdoor, old school type of party.
- 33:31Speaker 11: Flex Alexander was a DJ, and Johnny Gill, Shanie, Jeffrey
- 33:36Speaker 11: oz Bourne and Kenny Latimore all took turns singing throughout
- 33:41Speaker 11: the party. Anthony Anderson was there, of course, Judge Greg
- 33:44Speaker 11: Mathis got some moves.
- 33:45Speaker 1: You saw Greg, Judge.
- 33:47Speaker 11: Matthis, Cedric the entertainer, Steve was there and even Stevie Wonder.
- 33:50Speaker 11: Did you guys see Stevie Wonder sitting there? It looked
- 33:53Speaker 11: like the most fun ever?
- 33:55Speaker 1: Did you see it, Steve?
- 33:58Speaker 2: I just saw a couple of clips. I didn't know who.
- 34:00Speaker 8: I didn't know it was Johnny Gill's party, though I
- 34:02Speaker 8: saw Jeffrey Osbore singing, and I saw Kenny Lattimore in
- 34:06Speaker 8: the video.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it was a Magic's party.
- 34:12Speaker 9: It was.
- 34:13Speaker 1: It looked like so much fun though. I wanted to
- 34:15Speaker 1: be at that one. Yeah, Anthony, nice clean party, the
- 34:19Speaker 1: old school school.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Anthony Anderson, I saw him.
- 34:24Speaker 2: You saw that at a certain time, did you did
- 34:27Speaker 2: you see that?
- 34:27Speaker 9: Did?
- 34:28Speaker 3: Nobody got kicked out by the hole. So you referring
- 34:30Speaker 3: to you about when he throw a party. We'd be
- 34:35Speaker 3: playing cards and then we'd be like all right, there
- 34:38Speaker 3: he got some foil.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Yeah home, but.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Like we just we call all right, look at the time. No, no, no,
- 34:48Speaker 2: you've played cards.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Why don't you do it again? Why don't you do
- 34:55Speaker 1: it again? Throw a party for us and we can
- 34:57Speaker 1: hang out.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Why don't you all go to Johnny Gear?
- 35:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I think we should.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Great suggestion.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Steve already set up his nice people. Now would you
- 35:11Speaker 2: really hand people for you?
- 35:13Speaker 1: You would hand people for you and their coats.
- 35:16Speaker 8: You know, cause you know they taken out. That's it's
- 35:20Speaker 8: New York man. You gotta get your food wrapped up.
- 35:24Speaker 8: So if I hand you some fall in your coat,
- 35:27Speaker 8: that's pretty much a good sign we need to be doing.
- 35:31Speaker 2: But this, though, you need to put both of them
- 35:32Speaker 2: on something.
- 35:41Speaker 11: But it was so much fun though, Oh my god,
- 35:43Speaker 11: Johnny gil still has his moves. He was singing, and
- 35:47Speaker 11: Jeffrey Osborne's voice is still golden when he sang Love Ballad.
- 35:52Speaker 11: It was it was really good. I wish I was
- 35:55Speaker 11: at that party that looked like a fun, fun party.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Yeah, ye all drama, you know none of that.
- 36:03Speaker 1: It wasn't a freak off. It's just a birthday party.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Nobody, lot of people coming in and let they had
- 36:17Speaker 2: to put the keys out.
- 36:19Speaker 8: Huh he didn't have Nobody had to put their keys out. Yeah,
- 36:23Speaker 8: as to turn off for the grown folks.
- 36:27Speaker 11: Okay, the after party, it was a lot, a lot
- 36:33Speaker 11: of fun that was enjoyable. It made you feel like
- 36:36Speaker 11: you were there, you wanted to be there. And happy birthday,
- 36:39Speaker 11: Johnny gil. Finally it is official. Eddie Murphy and Martin
- 36:43Speaker 11: Lawrence are in laws. Eddie revealed on Jay Hudd's talk
- 36:47Speaker 11: show last week that his son Eric married Jasmine Lawrence
- 36:51Speaker 11: in a private ceremony with just the two of them.
- 36:54Speaker 11: Eddie said, they went off everybody was making big wedding plans.
- 36:57Speaker 11: They decided to do something quiet with just the two
- 37:00Speaker 11: of them. So congratulations to Eric and Jasmine Murphy. Yeah, beautiful,
- 37:04Speaker 11: all right. Coming up at twenty minutes after the hour, Steve,
- 37:07Speaker 11: I don't know if you knew this, but your annual
- 37:09Speaker 11: charity golf tournament was listed on threads as an event
- 37:13Speaker 11: that single ladies in Atlanta should attend.
- 37:15Speaker 1: We'll talk about it right after this. Get her you're listening,
- 37:21Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 37:27Speaker 3: This broadcast is sponsored by PayPal. I want to take
- 37:31Speaker 3: a second to talk to you about something. I think
- 37:33Speaker 3: it's pretty cool. PayPal lets you pay your own way
- 37:36Speaker 3: with just a click. PayPal offers people flexibility on how
- 37:41Speaker 3: they can pay. Once you click the PayPal button, you
- 37:44Speaker 3: can choose from a bunch of payment options like paying
- 37:47Speaker 3: later with PayPal at millions of online stores, pay in store,
- 37:51Speaker 3: pay online, pay overtime.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Don't just pay PayPal. Learn more at PayPal dot com.
- 37:59Speaker 11: So Steve Threads is a new social media app that
- 38:02Speaker 11: has tons of followers and there's a page on it
- 38:04Speaker 11: called the Date Better Network that has a list of
- 38:07Speaker 11: events for single ladies to add to their calendars. Now,
- 38:10Speaker 11: your annual charity golf tournament was added to the list
- 38:13Speaker 11: of events that single women in Atlanta should attend. You
- 38:17Speaker 11: do the golf tournament annually. The proceeds benefit, of course,
- 38:20Speaker 11: the Stephen Marjorie Harvey Foundation's mentoring programs for young men
- 38:24Speaker 11: and women. There's a fee to play, and it's at
- 38:27Speaker 11: an undisclosed location location for a reason. So here's my
- 38:32Speaker 11: question to you, what do you want to say to
- 38:34Speaker 11: all of the single women that are planning to get
- 38:36Speaker 11: a cute golf outfit and show up next weekend looking
- 38:39Speaker 11: for single male golfers.
- 38:40Speaker 8: Well, first of all, you need to be registered because
- 38:45Speaker 8: you will be stopped at the front gate of this
- 38:48Speaker 8: golf establishment.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Stay shore up.
- 38:51Speaker 8: So yeah, don't just show up. Ladies, register, register, pay
- 38:56Speaker 8: the fee, and then you can come. But you have
- 39:00Speaker 8: to register. That's the most important thing. And then they're
- 39:04Speaker 8: in there, some nice single guys in there. If you
- 39:08Speaker 8: do register and come and you're not a golfer, but
- 39:10Speaker 8: you register because we need the money for the foundation,
- 39:15Speaker 8: then and that will allow you to eat and sit
- 39:19Speaker 8: there at the war ceremony and you know, help somebody
- 39:22Speaker 8: make their plate and.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Stuff like that.
- 39:25Speaker 1: When he said.
- 39:31Speaker 2: No, listen to me.
- 39:32Speaker 8: I mean it's a cute little thing, you know, you
- 39:35Speaker 8: sitting up there saying are.
- 39:36Speaker 2: You eating today? Hey, let me help you out a
- 39:38Speaker 2: little bit. What did you want? Did you plate? You
- 39:41Speaker 2: gotta be tired? Oh my god, why don't you see that. Listen,
- 39:45Speaker 2: I'm gonna go up to the buffet. Tell me what
- 39:47Speaker 2: you want.
- 39:47Speaker 8: Let me grab you something for you. Oh wow, yeah,
- 39:51Speaker 8: I just want some greens and some chicken. And now
- 39:54Speaker 8: I'm not saying women have to make plates, but you know,
- 39:59Speaker 8: good got I like I would love a woman up
- 40:04Speaker 8: to make me a plate of food like I don't
- 40:06Speaker 8: let guys like if Monica's there and I'm sitting at
- 40:09Speaker 8: the table, Monica say, uh, mistakes, what you what you
- 40:12Speaker 8: want to eat?
- 40:12Speaker 2: And she'll she'll make me a plate. She will just
- 40:16Speaker 2: go out of kindness.
- 40:17Speaker 8: I've had a dude make me a plate, and I went,
- 40:20Speaker 8: you know, my man, where where you get this from?
- 40:23Speaker 2: So I was up there, man, I saw you ain't
- 40:25Speaker 2: had nothing that made you a plate. No, no, you
- 40:27Speaker 2: go eat that.
- 40:29Speaker 14: I don't.
- 40:29Speaker 8: I don't accept food from me. And that don't work
- 40:32Speaker 8: at the restaurant. Very very sexist when.
- 40:38Speaker 2: You come to that.
- 40:43Speaker 1: There's something you know though about that that we don't.
- 40:47Speaker 2: I guess, hell, you mean you made me a plate?
- 40:49Speaker 9: What you know what.
- 40:56Speaker 2: He did to is that you don't work there?
- 40:57Speaker 8: What you make me a play first fifty saying he
- 41:00Speaker 8: told him to take him shopping, take me really?
- 41:05Speaker 11: Yeah, that Shaw go to exact exactly. I don't see
- 41:11Speaker 11: the correlation, but okay, coming up next.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Thank you, guys.
- 41:14Speaker 11: Sister Odel in the building right after this, you're listening
- 41:19Speaker 11: Steve Hardy Morning Show. All right, as promised, ladies and gentlemen,

- 42:01Speaker 11: this Queen's tour.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Have you seen the Queen's Tour yet?

- 42:24Speaker 1: Yeah to hell, they can't.
- 42:28Speaker 8: Oh good lord, they're gonna be the future Queen's cause
- 42:32Speaker 8: they now that's right on their way. Now, outside of that,
- 42:37Speaker 8: they don't have. It's some Vivian Green. I likes her
- 42:40Speaker 8: that union Leilah half away, Lord never got her all hord.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Dude, that's right, she can sing, sing, sang.

- 43:39Speaker 1: They say he's gonna save R and B or well
- 43:42Speaker 1: he should.
- 43:43Speaker 2: He don't have no hits yet, so we don't need
- 43:45Speaker 2: to discuss. He comes up with a hit we need.

- 50:12Speaker 17: Tell them come take it out still.
- 50:14Speaker 16: Then and say it out there, okay, whether that's the problem,
- 50:16Speaker 16: The problem is is that you took it out, and

- 56:46Speaker 11: It is strawberry letter, subject, what's the rush? Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 56:53Speaker 11: I've been with the same man for eleven years, and
- 56:55Speaker 11: he asked me to marry him four years ago. Now,
- 56:58Speaker 11: all of a sudden, he wants to set a wedding date,
- 57:01Speaker 11: but I do not want to. I met him in college,
- 57:04Speaker 11: and I thought we were destined to have a great
- 57:07Speaker 11: love story. I was twenty and he was twenty two,
- 57:10Speaker 11: and our chemistry was amazing. When I was twenty two,
- 57:14Speaker 11: I got pregnant and we moved in together.
- 57:17Speaker 1: I got a job.
- 57:18Speaker 11: While he got his master's degree, and he told me
- 57:21Speaker 11: soon as he finished his degree he was going to
- 57:25Speaker 11: make me his wife. On his graduation night. I got
- 57:28Speaker 11: pregnant again. He got a really good job, and I
- 57:32Speaker 11: started teaching school. I fell in love with my job
- 57:35Speaker 11: and raising our children, so I didn't really realize that
- 57:39Speaker 11: I was playing house.
- 57:40Speaker 1: And this man did not plan to marry me. I
- 57:43Speaker 1: went to stay with my mother for a while so
- 57:45Speaker 1: I could clear my head. He begged me to come
- 57:48Speaker 1: back home and he promised that he was about to propose.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Years passed by and he didn't.
- 57:54Speaker 11: His father overheard us fussing one day and he advised
- 57:58Speaker 11: his son to either marry me or let me go.
- 58:01Speaker 1: A few weeks later, he asked me to be his wife.
- 58:05Speaker 11: That was four years ago, and I was ready to
- 58:07Speaker 11: do it right then he kept stalling and asking me,
- 58:11Speaker 11: what's the rush by? And move past it now for
- 58:16Speaker 11: the marriage? And I don't want him anymore. I don't
- 58:19Speaker 11: even wear my ring and he hasn't noticed. He invited
- 58:23Speaker 11: my mother over last weekend to talk about wedding dates
- 58:26Speaker 11: and I was checked out of the conversation. When my
- 58:29Speaker 11: mother left, I asked him, what's the rush? He hasn't
- 58:33Speaker 11: spoken to me in over a week because of my attitude?
- 58:36Speaker 11: How can I not be allowed to have an attitude?
- 58:39Speaker 11: Should I give the ring back or move on?
- 58:42Speaker 2: Or should I.
- 58:42Speaker 11: Marry an old friend and baby day that I don't
- 58:45Speaker 11: love anymore? M Please don't do that if that's the truth,
- 58:50Speaker 11: I mean, why would you marry someone that you don't
- 58:53Speaker 11: love anymore? That makes about as much sense as him
- 58:56Speaker 11: walking around for more than a week not talking to
- 58:59Speaker 11: you because you said to him what's the rush?
- 59:03Speaker 1: The man is too immature for you. I think you
- 59:07Speaker 1: have to let him.
- 59:08Speaker 11: You know, I kind of blame it on you a
- 59:10Speaker 11: little bit, because you've let him get away with too
- 59:13Speaker 11: much stuff in this relationship. He's not kept his word
- 59:16Speaker 11: on anything. And where does he think you got what's
- 59:21Speaker 11: the rush from? You got it from him. He said
- 59:23Speaker 11: it to you first, I mean to the real red flag,
- 59:26Speaker 11: and it's a glimpse into what marriage might be like
- 59:30Speaker 11: with this man. I mean, this entire letter is about
- 59:33Speaker 11: your lives together. Since you were twenty and twenty two
- 59:36Speaker 11: years old, the main thing you wanted was to marry
- 59:39Speaker 11: this man. He kept putting it off because there was
- 59:42Speaker 11: no incentive to marry you. You already had the babies
- 59:46Speaker 11: early on, you were living together. He had what he
- 59:49Speaker 11: wanted right there without the benefit of marriage. And now
- 59:52Speaker 11: he sees you've changed, so he's trying to step up.
- 59:56Speaker 11: But it's too late. You're over it, you say, at
- 59:59Speaker 11: least the marriage part.
- 1:00:00Speaker 12: I mean.
- 1:00:00Speaker 11: The sad thing is you guys do have two children,
- 1:00:03Speaker 11: so you have to talk to each other. You gotta communicate.
- 1:00:06Speaker 11: I mean, I think this fairy tale you have of
- 1:00:09Speaker 11: this great love story you want it.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I think that's over.
- 1:00:13Speaker 11: The reality is eleven years later, you're miserable, you're ready
- 1:00:17Speaker 11: to walk, and you're writing us. I say, go in peace,
- 1:00:21Speaker 11: knowing that you dodged a bullet from.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Not marrying this guy.
- 1:00:24Speaker 11: After all these years, I think you should get your
- 1:00:26Speaker 11: child support and move on. When you do fall in
- 1:00:29Speaker 11: love again with the right man the next time. When
- 1:00:32Speaker 11: he proposed a set of date, start planning immediately. Okay,
- 1:00:35Speaker 11: don't waste time, Steve.
- 1:00:38Speaker 8: I'm in two and a half minutes. This is what
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: I'm gonna do. And then the second half I'm gonna
- 1:00:42Speaker 8: show you how this works. I'm gonna show you about
- 1:00:44Speaker 8: thirteen questionable statements in this letter.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: He asked me to marry him four years ago. That's one.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: He wants to set a wedding date, but I do not.
- 1:00:54Speaker 8: That's two. When I was twenty two, I got pregnant
- 1:00:57Speaker 8: and we moved in together. That's three. I got a
- 1:01:00Speaker 8: job while he got his master's degree and told me
- 1:01:02Speaker 8: as soon as he finished his degree, he was gonna
- 1:01:04Speaker 8: make me his wife.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: That's four.
- 1:01:07Speaker 8: The fifth statement was I fell in love with my
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: job and raising our children, so I didn't realize I
- 1:01:11Speaker 8: was playing house, and this man did not plan to
- 1:01:14Speaker 8: marry me.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: That's five.
- 1:01:16Speaker 8: The next statement was, I tried to want it to
- 1:01:19Speaker 8: clear my head, so I went to stay with my mama.
- 1:01:22Speaker 8: He begged me to come back, and now he promised
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: that he was going to about to propose. That's six
- 1:01:27Speaker 8: years go buying. His father overheard us fussing one day
- 1:01:31Speaker 8: and he advised his son either married me or let
- 1:01:32Speaker 8: me go. That's seven. That was four years ago. A
- 1:01:37Speaker 8: week later, he asked me to be his wife.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: That's eight.
- 1:01:40Speaker 8: That was four years ago, and I was ready to
- 1:01:42Speaker 8: do it right there. He kept starting and asking me
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: what's to rush?
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: That's nine.
- 1:01:46Speaker 8: I cried and moved past it. Now I'm over the
- 1:01:48Speaker 8: marriage and I don't want him anymore.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: That's ten. I don't wear my ring and he has
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: a notice. That's eleven.
- 1:01:54Speaker 8: He invited his mother over to my mother over last
- 1:01:57Speaker 8: weekend to discuss wedding dates. I was checked out of
- 1:01:59Speaker 8: the commerce when my mother left, I asked him what
- 1:02:01Speaker 8: was the rush? That's twelve. He hasn't spoken to me
- 1:02:05Speaker 8: in over a week because of my attitude. So how
- 1:02:08Speaker 8: can I not be allowed to have an attitude? Should
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: I give the read back and move on? Or should
- 1:02:12Speaker 8: I marry an old friend and baby daddy that I
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: don't love anymore? That's thirteen in a one page letter
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: I just read to you, thirteen very questionable statements.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Do this sound like marriage to you?
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Not at all?
- 1:02:33Speaker 8: If you don't love somebody, I can promise you marriage
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: is out of the question, right, because you gonna need
- 1:02:40Speaker 8: that mode. And money, because I'm telling you, man, money
- 1:02:45Speaker 8: don't keep a relationship together. Love can overcome a multitude
- 1:02:52Speaker 8: of sins, but if you ain't in love, it's no
- 1:02:56Speaker 8: way you can get married and stay married.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: All right, Steve, hang on, we're waiting for part two
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: of your response. Come on after hour.
- 1:03:07Speaker 11: All right, title this strawberry letter? What's the rush? We'll
- 1:03:11Speaker 11: find out more when we come.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Back right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Do you think astronauts fight over elbow room?
- 1:03:24Speaker 8: Probably because advanced tech doesn't always mean more space. Until now,
- 1:03:29Speaker 8: introduce it the Hondai Ionic nine, a three row electric

- 1:03:53Speaker 11: All right, come on, Steve, Let's recap today's strawberry letter,
- 1:03:55Speaker 11: the subject what's the rush?
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: We just went through this letter, all these reasons that
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: this woman don't need to marry this man. I gave
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: you thirteen questionable statements at the end of the letter.
- 1:04:07Speaker 8: This lady just said, should I marry an old friend
- 1:04:10Speaker 8: and baby daddy that I don't love anymore? They've been
- 1:04:14Speaker 8: together for eleven years, and he been lying about getting married, stalling,
- 1:04:20Speaker 8: putting it off, making false promises, over and over and
- 1:04:25Speaker 8: over and over. This man. You realize, after you had
- 1:04:29Speaker 8: two children and found a school teaching job you love,
- 1:04:32Speaker 8: that this man was just playing house and did not
- 1:04:35Speaker 8: pretend he ain't even want to get married.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Because I've told you all ladies about this.
- 1:04:40Speaker 8: The wedding day may be the day of your dream,
- 1:04:42Speaker 8: but the man does not have a wedding day as
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: the day of his dream. We only dream of the
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: chick of our dream. And if he can get you
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: without the day, what's to rush? And He just proved
- 1:04:52Speaker 8: what I've been saying for years.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: So he has you.
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: What's to rush, Ladies, This is what I want to do.
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: Call him surely. Let me have you undivided attention. Please,
- 1:05:00Speaker 8: we're going to do a reenactment. I am gonna be
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: mister Housta Rush. I don't care what you asked me.
- 1:05:08Speaker 8: I'm gonna find a way not to get married. You
- 1:05:11Speaker 8: can make it sound as wonderful as you like. Just

- 1:23:43Speaker 8: What they showed me thinking all the time. All right,
- 1:23:51Speaker 8: I wonder why they had that conversation in that exact order.

- 1:25:12Speaker 11: Mom. Here we are, last break of the day and
- 1:25:16Speaker 11: time for some closing remarks from the wonderful, the one
- 1:25:19Speaker 11: and only, our fearless leader, Steve Harvey.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: What you got, Steve?
- 1:25:23Speaker 8: You know, I was just thinking about encouragement and the
- 1:25:32Speaker 8: things that have happened in my life to greatly encourage me.
- 1:25:38Speaker 8: And kind of, like I said this morning, you know,
- 1:25:40Speaker 8: I kind of woke up this morning. I just wasn't
- 1:25:43Speaker 8: myself this morning. I wasn't my usual and I found
- 1:25:47Speaker 8: myself thinking, you know, some thoughts that I shouldn't have
- 1:25:50Speaker 8: allowed to get into my head. But I quickly reversed that.
- 1:25:55Speaker 8: And I'm gonna tell you something that I do because
- 1:25:59Speaker 8: I was taught a long time ago that your feelings
- 1:26:04Speaker 8: are a barometer of your thoughts. Your feelings are a
- 1:26:09Speaker 8: barometer of your thoughts. And what that simply means is
- 1:26:12Speaker 8: what your feeling is actually like just a thermometer of
- 1:26:17Speaker 8: what you've been thinking over the past twenty thirty minutes.
- 1:26:22Speaker 8: If you think, if you catch yourself feeling out of
- 1:26:26Speaker 8: sorts or getting to a little funk, or feeling a
- 1:26:29Speaker 8: little depressed, all you have to do is trace back
- 1:26:32Speaker 8: what you've been thinking for the past fifteen to thirty minutes,
- 1:26:37Speaker 8: because all your feelings are are simply a barometer.
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: Or however you want to look at it.
- 1:26:44Speaker 8: You might want to say a thermometer, so you can
- 1:26:46Speaker 8: say it tells the temperature of what you've been thinking.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: And so I had to go back and do that,
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: and I realized.
- 1:26:55Speaker 8: The reason I kind of woke up on the wrong
- 1:26:57Speaker 8: side of the bed was because I was laying at thinking.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: Some negative thoughts.
- 1:27:02Speaker 8: I was thinking about all the stuff I had to do,
- 1:27:05Speaker 8: all the stuff I needed to accomplish, and then I
- 1:27:09Speaker 8: was realizing that there was no way I was gonna
- 1:27:13Speaker 8: get it all done today, no matter how hard I try.
- 1:27:19Speaker 8: And as I was sitting there man beating myself up
- 1:27:21Speaker 8: for knowing all that I had to do and knowing
- 1:27:24Speaker 8: I didn't have enough time in the day to get
- 1:27:26Speaker 8: it done, I started feeling sort of out of sorts
- 1:27:30Speaker 8: and like, man, this is I want this to move
- 1:27:32Speaker 8: blah blah blah blah blah.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: Well, I had to.
- 1:27:34Speaker 8: Catch myself because I had to be reminded of the
- 1:27:37Speaker 8: Lord's prayer, the line that says, give us this day
- 1:27:40Speaker 8: our daily bread, which God has mentally equipped us to
- 1:27:45Speaker 8: handle today. God didn't set our brain up to handle tomorrow.
- 1:27:50Speaker 8: To worry about it anyway. You can think about it
- 1:27:53Speaker 8: and aspire about it and dream about it, but you're
- 1:27:56Speaker 8: surely not to worry about it because there's nothing you
- 1:27:59Speaker 8: can do about it.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: But I was sitting there.
- 1:28:01Speaker 8: About worrying about today and all I had to do
- 1:28:04Speaker 8: and how I was gonna fit it in today and
- 1:28:05Speaker 8: knowing I couldn't and how I was gonna affect my tomorrow.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: Bad mistake, Steve Harvey and you know better.
- 1:28:12Speaker 8: And so I'm trying to help you all understand that
- 1:28:14Speaker 8: when you get into that funk like that, know better,
- 1:28:17Speaker 8: like I had to know better. God has equipped us
- 1:28:19Speaker 8: to handle today. Give us this day our daily bread.
- 1:28:23Speaker 8: He don't want you tripping on what that already happened
- 1:28:25Speaker 8: in the past. You can't go back, you don't get
- 1:28:28Speaker 8: do overs, and ain't no need to worry about the
- 1:28:30Speaker 8: future because you have no control over it. So I
- 1:28:33Speaker 8: had to get focused and I had to think about Wow,
- 1:28:37Speaker 8: all I need is today. I need enough to make
- 1:28:43Speaker 8: it today. And so as I was sitting there shaving,
- 1:28:47Speaker 8: I was sitting up here thinking, I said, wow, I'm up,
- 1:28:49Speaker 8: I have a measure of help. I'm shaving. I'm actually okay.
- 1:28:54Speaker 8: I'm order some room service. I'm okay. I get to
- 1:28:59Speaker 8: go to work today. That's a blessing. Not I gotta
- 1:29:03Speaker 8: go to work. I get to go to work today,
- 1:29:06Speaker 8: because that's a blessing. It's a blessing to have that opportunity.
- 1:29:10Speaker 8: It's people looking for a job today wishing they would
- 1:29:13Speaker 8: work anywhere, and I just need to get a check
- 1:29:15Speaker 8: coming in here. I actually get to go to work
- 1:29:18Speaker 8: to a job I enjoy. Steve Harvey, are you kidding me?
- 1:29:25Speaker 8: You got the nerve to wake up on the wrong
- 1:29:27Speaker 8: side of the bed because you was worrying about what
- 1:29:30Speaker 8: you might not accomplish. Have you taken a moment, sir,
- 1:29:35Speaker 8: to just realize what you have. That my children are healthy,
- 1:29:41Speaker 8: that they all still with me, that I got loving family.
- 1:29:48Speaker 8: Oh they had a dysfunctional moments. Oh you can believe that,
- 1:29:53Speaker 8: But at the end of the day, I bet they
- 1:29:54Speaker 8: love each other. Hey man, you have options. Hey man,
- 1:30:02Speaker 8: you're able to walk to see, to talk, to think,
- 1:30:06Speaker 8: to rhyme, to reason. It's just so many little things.
- 1:30:10Speaker 8: I'm looking out the window right now, and I'm realizing
- 1:30:15Speaker 8: the sun is up and I'm free while I can
- 1:30:18Speaker 8: go out there and enjoy it.
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: Man, get out of here.
- 1:30:22Speaker 8: You don't have the right, sir, to wake up on
- 1:30:25Speaker 8: the wrong side of the bed when the joy and
- 1:30:29Speaker 8: the gratitude ought to be that you woke up on
- 1:30:32Speaker 8: the bed.
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: How about that? Cause don't you.
- 1:30:34Speaker 8: Remember Steve Harvey when you didn't have no bed partner?
- 1:30:38Speaker 8: Now you're worrying about getting up on the wrong side.
- 1:30:40Speaker 8: How about them three years when you ain't had no bed?
- 1:30:44Speaker 8: What about that? Are you kidding me? Man? So you
- 1:30:48Speaker 8: gonna lay up here stuck on stupid because you're on
- 1:30:50Speaker 8: the wrong side of the bed. You frustrated you ain't
- 1:30:53Speaker 8: got enough time any day. But did you ever really
- 1:30:55Speaker 8: think about why you don't have enough time in the day?
- 1:30:58Speaker 8: Because you got stuff to do? Why you got stuff
- 1:31:00Speaker 8: to do? Because God created you to be busy. You
- 1:31:03Speaker 8: know why He created you to be busy so you
- 1:31:05Speaker 8: can have the life you asked for. You can't complain
- 1:31:08Speaker 8: about what's all on your plate when your whole goal
- 1:31:11Speaker 8: was to eat. Sitting up in here tripping about how
- 1:31:17Speaker 8: much is on my plate when my whole goal was
- 1:31:20Speaker 8: to eat. Now he got plenty on the plate, And
- 1:31:24Speaker 8: you tripping about that? Are you stupid, Steve Harvey? I
- 1:31:28Speaker 8: don't think so. So I pulled my big lip wide
- 1:31:33Speaker 8: nose self together and focused and got grateful and got
- 1:31:38Speaker 8: my day started. And now as I say goodbye to
- 1:31:41Speaker 8: y'all this morning, I get to go to work and
- 1:31:44Speaker 8: do it all over again.
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: Let the sure say, man, Amen, Amen again, ain't man again?
