- 0:38Speaker 1: I don't join join me to be doing me. Honey.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You gotta use turning. You gotta turn to turn them out.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Turn you haven't got to turn them out. Then turn
- 1:46Speaker 1: the water the water. Come come on your back at it. Huh.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I shall will a good morning everybody. You're listening to
- 2:06Speaker 1: the voice, Come on dig me now one it only
- 2:09Speaker 1: Steve Harvey got a radio show Okay, okay, here's one
- 2:17Speaker 1: for you today. This is one that's deep inside of me.
- 2:21Speaker 1: So this one right here, I know this one very
- 2:26Speaker 1: very well. I want to talk to you today about success.
- 2:34Speaker 1: But I want to talk to you about it like
- 2:37Speaker 1: I usually do in terms of a principle of it,
- 2:41Speaker 1: but I want to share something with you about it now.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I was talking to my daughter about it. I've talked
- 2:49Speaker 1: about my son in law about it, talked about it
- 2:51Speaker 1: with all my children, and I'm really starting to express
- 2:54Speaker 1: it to them now because I mean mine range from
- 2:57Speaker 1: age thirty one down to sixteen. So I'm talking to
- 3:01Speaker 1: a wide range of people constantly, but I want to
- 3:04Speaker 1: share something with you, and this is very, very real,
- 3:08Speaker 1: and there is no way around this. If you have
- 3:11Speaker 1: any aspiration of being successful, if you have any inkling
- 3:16Speaker 1: that you want to change for the better and become
- 3:20Speaker 1: successful in that change, I want you to realize, starting
- 3:25Speaker 1: right now, the effort that is going to require. And
- 3:30Speaker 1: that's why I think it stops a lot of people.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I think a lot of people are never told or
- 3:36Speaker 1: don't understand the sheer efforts that it takes to become
- 3:40Speaker 1: successful at anything in any area of your life. You know.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I think people think that if they do their best
- 3:47Speaker 1: they can that that will cut it. Well, that's not enough.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Here is the lightbulb. That's not enough. If you think
- 4:00Speaker 1: that doing your best is enough, that I got news
- 4:04Speaker 1: for you. It's not. Well, Steve, what if you've done
- 4:08Speaker 1: your best, though, and your best ain't good enough? Well,
- 4:13Speaker 1: let me ask you that same question. Hold on. If
- 4:16Speaker 1: you want to be successful and you've done your best
- 4:19Speaker 1: and best isn't good enough? What you through? That's it?
- 4:23Speaker 1: But Stephen, was my best? No, no, no, no, no no,
- 4:26Speaker 1: it was the best you had at that time, in
- 4:29Speaker 1: that particular day, But tomorrow add something to it. You've
- 4:36Speaker 1: never done everything. There is no you can't go no more,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you can't add no more. I've seen marathon runners end
- 4:44Speaker 1: up crawling across the line. I've seen triathlon people man
- 4:48Speaker 1: just staggering in the street and didn't want nobody to
- 4:52Speaker 1: help him because they knew that would disqualify him from
- 4:55Speaker 1: the race. You got more. Have you ever dipped into
- 5:01Speaker 1: your reserve tank? That's what we're talking about now. See,
- 5:05Speaker 1: all of us have a reserve tank, you know. I.
- 5:08Speaker 1: You know, on my ranch, I like to ride four wheelers.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I have all terrain vehicles and all of them have
- 5:14Speaker 1: a gas tank on it and a gas tank and
- 5:18Speaker 1: most of mine let me see all of them. Yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 1: all of them have gas tank needles on them, and
- 5:22Speaker 1: it lets me know. When I get down towards eat
- 5:26Speaker 1: there's a little lane that's read that lets me know. Okay, Steve,
- 5:30Speaker 1: you're in the danger zone. Now you're riding into the
- 5:33Speaker 1: lowest part of your tank. But if I keep riding
- 5:36Speaker 1: and I forget to get some gas in there, guess
- 5:39Speaker 1: what when it runs out of gas. All of my
- 5:42Speaker 1: all terrain vehicles, all of them, Honda, Polaris, all of them.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Those are the makers. There's a button on the gas
- 5:52Speaker 1: tank itself that I can click and it says reserve.
- 5:57Speaker 1: That means they know that for the hardcore riders, they're
- 6:02Speaker 1: gonna ride somewhere and they're gonna get themselves in a
- 6:04Speaker 1: situation and they're gonna run out of everything. They're gonna
- 6:08Speaker 1: run out of road, they're gonna run out of gas.
- 6:11Speaker 1: They've prepared because they know for the hardcore rider, every
- 6:15Speaker 1: hardcore rider needs a reserve tank. And so there's a
- 6:19Speaker 1: button that you can click on the gas tank that
- 6:22Speaker 1: clicks it into a reserve and it'll give you about
- 6:26Speaker 1: fifty miles or twenty miles worth of gas in that Now,
- 6:30Speaker 1: guess what in that reserve That may be all you
- 6:34Speaker 1: need to get you the where you're going, or get
- 6:37Speaker 1: you back to safety so you can refuel. Don't tell
- 6:40Speaker 1: me you've done your best. When your best, don't cut
- 6:43Speaker 1: it what you're gonna do. See, when best is possible,
- 6:51Speaker 1: then good enough ain't enough. See you can flip that
- 6:55Speaker 1: any kind of weight you where you want to. But
- 6:57Speaker 1: if but if the best is possible, then good enough
- 7:01Speaker 1: and it ain't enough. Man, See that's good enough. But
- 7:04Speaker 1: if the best is possible, why would you not shoot
- 7:06Speaker 1: for that? And you are all capable of making it.
- 7:11Speaker 1: You are all capable of being successful if you change
- 7:15Speaker 1: your mind set. But you've got to change your mindset
- 7:19Speaker 1: and realize the effort that has to be put forth
- 7:22Speaker 1: in becoming successful. You've got to do it relentlessly, over
- 7:27Speaker 1: and over and over and over and every day. I
- 7:31Speaker 1: try to do something to progress my life for the better.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I try to do something every day. I wake up
- 7:38Speaker 1: every day with the plan. Some phone calls, some meetings,
- 7:41Speaker 1: some some some interviews. Something. Man, that's going to advance
- 7:46Speaker 1: and move the brand forward. Because here's what's gonna happen.
- 7:49Speaker 1: You are Let's say you reach your goal. Let's say
- 7:52Speaker 1: your goal is to make one hundred thousand dollars. Well,
- 7:57Speaker 1: I got news for you. Listen to this. When you
- 8:00Speaker 1: make the one hundred thousand dollars, you can't go on
- 8:03Speaker 1: noway and go on vacation and put your hand behind
- 8:06Speaker 1: your head and say I made a hundred thousand dollars.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Guess what you got to do. You got to find
- 8:11Speaker 1: a way now to maintain that one hundred thousand to
- 8:14Speaker 1: keep it coming in, so you can't just get there
- 8:18Speaker 1: and stop and rest and whoa. It is harder to
- 8:21Speaker 1: maintain your success than it is to get successful. See
- 8:26Speaker 1: let's say, let me let me show you this. Suppose
- 8:28Speaker 1: it takes you five to eight years to find a
- 8:34Speaker 1: way to make fifty thousand dollars. Let's say it takes
- 8:38Speaker 1: you five to eight years to find a way to
- 8:40Speaker 1: make an extra fifty thousand dollars, and you finally, through
- 8:44Speaker 1: work and effort, you get to the fifty thousand dollars.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Are that's that's it's only just begun now, because guess what,
- 8:53Speaker 1: in order to keep the fifty coming in, you got
- 8:58Speaker 1: to duplicate what you did to get there. And then, oh,
- 9:02Speaker 1: here's what you're going to have the audacity being a
- 9:05Speaker 1: human being. You're gonna want another fifty because you're a
- 9:09Speaker 1: human being, because you gotta have something else to shoot
- 9:13Speaker 1: for now, you're gonna want another fifty. Well, now that
- 9:15Speaker 1: guess what you gotta do. Now, Now you gotta do
- 9:17Speaker 1: what you did before, plus you gotta come up with
- 9:19Speaker 1: something else. Then after that, you're gonna have the audacity
- 9:24Speaker 1: because you're humans, You're gonna want another fifty says how
- 9:29Speaker 1: this works, and see that that's the that's the importance
- 9:34Speaker 1: of your relationship with God, because you're gonna constantly need
- 9:36Speaker 1: it and ain't ever a point where you're gonna be
- 9:39Speaker 1: through needing it. But there ain't gonna become a point
- 9:41Speaker 1: in your life where you're gonna through. Won't through, be through,
- 9:44Speaker 1: won't nothing unless you just gave up. And if you
- 9:46Speaker 1: don't gave up, who wants that? Come on, y'all, this
- 9:50Speaker 1: is going to take quite a bit of effort, and
- 9:54Speaker 1: if you think it will come to you any other way,
- 9:56Speaker 1: you're sadly mistaken. Because of all the sixth sucessful people
- 10:00Speaker 1: I know, I know that the effort they put out
- 10:03Speaker 1: on a daily basis is daunting, and I think that
- 10:05Speaker 1: the average person just doesn't understand the requirement of time
- 10:09Speaker 1: and effort that it takes to get that and willingness
- 10:12Speaker 1: to put it out. You gotta cut a lot of
- 10:15Speaker 1: monkey business out your life, all that hanging out, all
- 10:19Speaker 1: that late and all that club and all that drinking,
- 10:22Speaker 1: all that. You gotta cut a whole lot of monkey
- 10:25Speaker 1: business out to be successful. Man, if you're planning on
- 10:29Speaker 1: being successful, get up early, stay up late, work, try think, meet, greet, smile, attract.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It takes a lot, let's go, but you can do it.
- 10:41Speaker 1: God is pressed to plassing out blessings all day long.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Why are you not in line for yours? I'm telling
- 10:47Speaker 1: you right now, I want everything God got for me,
- 10:50Speaker 1: because what he's shown me so far wool If he
- 10:53Speaker 1: got some mo man on man, how good is God?
- 10:57Speaker 1: Hunt show? Ladies and gentlemen? Here we are? Two thousand
- 11:06Speaker 1: nineteen is upon us? What's happening to everybody? Yeah? Yeah,
- 11:15Speaker 1: how fortunate do you feel to have made it? To
- 11:19Speaker 1: do that? You really looked at that number closely? Yet?
- 11:22Speaker 1: Two thousand nineteen? What do you mean? Yeah? Yeah? You
- 11:27Speaker 1: remember when it was nineteen sixty eight? I was one man.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I was watching mar Luke King's funeral on TV in
- 11:41Speaker 1: Miss Blandon's class. She bought black and white TV and
- 11:44Speaker 1: made us watch it on TV. Wow, man, you weren't here?
- 11:53Speaker 1: What about nineteen seventy? Folder? What happened that? Yet? You here?
- 11:58Speaker 1: To Nah, you weren't here. I wasn't here, said, when
- 12:01Speaker 1: were you born in the nineteen eighty? Pretty close? I
- 12:03Speaker 1: was getting n eight? What was you doing? Sent? What y'all? Eight?
- 12:09Speaker 1: World work trying to figure out what had happened to
- 12:12Speaker 1: my life. A failure just out of college. Shoot, mine
- 12:21Speaker 1: was worse than that. I had a Pinto repossessed and
- 12:25Speaker 1: I had to catch the bus and pass my Pinto
- 12:28Speaker 1: at the loan office. Everything. Still, they don't still make
- 12:35Speaker 1: sense to us that we had one. They don't make them.
- 12:38Speaker 1: They don't make My cousin had orange Ja Jay, you
- 12:41Speaker 1: remember that powder blue my escort, That boy had a
- 12:46Speaker 1: powder blue as not power what I'm talking about. So anyway,
- 13:00Speaker 1: it's two thousand nineteen. Yes, I hope everybody's feeling awful grateful, man.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I know I'm grateful another year, got some good health
- 13:12Speaker 1: to gether deal in the land of living it. That's
- 13:16Speaker 1: a highly favorite yourself. Man, Just feel like, just feel
- 13:20Speaker 1: like just a year right here? It does, doesn't it,
- 13:24Speaker 1: Because I'm gonna tell you something in two thousand and
- 13:25Speaker 1: eighteen was a blur. It went by. It was rough year,
- 13:35Speaker 1: thing was rough for the country. Call Yeah, I'm so
- 13:41Speaker 1: sick of rushing home just to see what he said. Yeah,
- 13:47Speaker 1: you know, over the over the holiday seem I didn't
- 13:49Speaker 1: watch any news. No, I didn't care, didn't I didn't
- 13:52Speaker 1: want to know. I made myself not watching. I didn't
- 13:55Speaker 1: watch that much. Yeah, because I unplug. Yeah I had
- 13:58Speaker 1: to because you watch it so much when we're at work.
- 14:02Speaker 1: So yeah, I just didn't. I made myself watch. Tell
- 14:05Speaker 1: you what I did watch? Damn if we talk about that,
- 14:15Speaker 1: talk about trending, because man, I you didn't know how
- 14:20Speaker 1: to talk about We didn't know from We didn't not, No,
- 14:23Speaker 1: we didn't. I don't spoke to it. Yeah, yeah, we've
- 14:26Speaker 1: been talking to it. Wow, we don't do that now,
- 14:32Speaker 1: all right, listen, coming up at thirty two after the hour,

- 20:33Speaker 1: at the weekend at the tavern. They went to the
- 20:35Speaker 1: tavern and they played ye musicians, they took their instruments
- 20:40Speaker 1: to school. Now that to school? What's the tavern? Tavern?

- 21:11Speaker 1: the last thing we bene watched you talked about earlier,
- 21:13Speaker 1: that was Surviving R. Kelly. That was like the end
- 21:16Speaker 1: of our vacation watching it. I just watched it one time. Yeah, no,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I watched it a lot. But then, yeah, I've been
- 21:23Speaker 1: watched this show, Steve. I don't know if you've If
- 21:25Speaker 1: you've seen it, it's called Bad Blood. It's called Bad
- 21:28Speaker 1: Blood on Netflix. You're like, what, Okay, that's all unique.
- 21:35Speaker 1: All right, listen, we're gonna talk about Surviving R. Kelly. Okay,
- 21:40Speaker 1: everybody's talking about it. We're gonna get to that, of course.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Uh coming up and uh Robin Motown Deacon death Jammer
- 21:46Speaker 1: here too in the New Year with Church Complex. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 1: he's talk Oh yeah, are They're coming up at forty
- 21:58Speaker 1: four after the hour, right, after this you're listening show
- 22:04Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, Guys, miss
- 22:06Speaker 1: Anne will be here. She's gonna have the latest on
- 22:09Speaker 1: the government shut down. Boy, is that ever gonna end? Uh?
- 22:15Speaker 1: And yeah, yeah, it's crazy because you know what, man,
- 22:20Speaker 1: it's like the Republicans act like they're Okay, I got
- 22:22Speaker 1: the campaign promise, but the first campaign promise was We're
- 22:26Speaker 1: gonna build the wall, and who's gonna pay for it?
- 22:30Speaker 1: Kid's gonna pay for Mexico. Mexico, sayn Spanish. And then
- 22:37Speaker 1: he turned around and said, hey, Chuck, I'll take full
- 22:40Speaker 1: responsibility for shutting the government down. I wanted to be
- 22:44Speaker 1: on me. I'm shutting it down, and I gladly shut it.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Put the shut down on me. Now his lion ain't.
- 22:52Speaker 1: And the Republicans act like it's the Democrats fault. When
- 22:55Speaker 1: they put a joint bill together that then it and
- 22:59Speaker 1: the House approved, gave you one point something for some
- 23:02Speaker 1: border security. They said, yeah, he had signed it, took
- 23:05Speaker 1: it to the president. He adn't want that. Now he's
- 23:07Speaker 1: sending that five point six billion or nothing at all.
- 23:10Speaker 1: The sad thing is all these people are not getting paid,
- 23:14Speaker 1: all the government workers, passport I wish this is what
- 23:17Speaker 1: I think they should do. We should put together some
- 23:20Speaker 1: legislation so so the congressman, senators. Congressman and senators should
- 23:29Speaker 1: be considered government employees. So when y'all shut the government yourself,
- 23:34Speaker 1: I like it, then let your money be messed up too.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I bet I better be a whole lot more negotiating
- 23:38Speaker 1: then I like it. Let me tell you effect of
- 23:41Speaker 1: the airport though, because TSA was short of people. Man,
- 23:43Speaker 1: they didn't have all those people in there, so the
- 23:45Speaker 1: holiday it was jammed up, man bad and not getting paid. Yeah, volunteer,
- 23:57Speaker 1: that's what the volunteer working. Yeah, a lot of bags
- 24:03Speaker 1: of I ain't getting me, not at all. All right,
- 24:11Speaker 1: miss Dan'll have the latest on the government shutdown and
- 24:14Speaker 1: an entertainment news we've been talking about it all morning,
- 24:17Speaker 1: Surviving R Kelly the documentary. We'll get into that, and
- 24:22Speaker 1: then later on we'll talk about some of the highlights
- 24:24Speaker 1: from last night's Golden Globe Awards. Right now, Jackson, Mississippi,
- 24:29Speaker 1: and Dayton, Ohio are brand new. Affhili, it's good morning
- 24:32Speaker 1: to you. It is Monday, which means it is time
- 24:35Speaker 1: for Reverend Motown and Deacon Death Jam with church complaints
- 24:45Speaker 1: Gecius most botnical monipolis apu distris what that means? All
- 24:57Speaker 1: of that? All right, we are here in the new
- 25:01Speaker 1: year to deal with the complaints over an ungrateful congregation.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I wouldn't say they're any great, I would, I would.
- 25:12Speaker 1: What else would you compall a church that complaints every Monday? Yeah?
- 25:19Speaker 1: Well that, but you know something has happened over the weekend. Well,
- 25:23Speaker 1: let us begin, deacon, all right, I passed that brother
- 25:28Speaker 1: Reginald Bowsman I, also known as Reggie B. I shouted
- 25:33Speaker 1: at the New Year's Eve church service. Uh, eight dying
- 25:37Speaker 1: bags fell out of his pocket, and he's asking that
- 25:41Speaker 1: whoever found him the police return and he said this
- 25:43Speaker 1: is going to ruin his business and can cut into
- 25:46Speaker 1: his profit once again. He lost dying bags and looking
- 25:49Speaker 1: for somebody to return the past. It confiscated the bag.
- 25:58Speaker 1: We don't have a lost in found hill at our church.
- 26:03Speaker 1: We have a Loss and Gone department. We've already given
- 26:11Speaker 1: those bags to the needy, shall we say? Yeah, and
- 26:18Speaker 1: donated the proceeds to the building full building. What do eat?
- 26:27Speaker 1: Dumb bag? All right, now we gotta do it? Wi will?
- 26:36Speaker 1: I passed up brother Darren Dugas. He's a lawyer, cowboy fan.
- 26:42Speaker 1: He's gone too far. Uh he went on the Facebook
- 26:46Speaker 1: last night. He went on the Facebook and uh he
- 26:51Speaker 1: had a cowboy church rob on and he was singing, blank,
- 26:55Speaker 1: better have my money. I guess he met somebody pastor,
- 26:58Speaker 1: we cannot have anybody red is then our church in
- 27:01Speaker 1: this manner? Not no cowboy friend. Clearly I'm from Cleveland.
- 27:10Speaker 1: And if you don't, we've had done us do the
- 27:13Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield and the success we had this year. For
- 27:18Speaker 1: the first time ever, you will see a gospel choir
- 27:21Speaker 1: in brown in in brown, brown rules, alright, orange collars. Okay,
- 27:29Speaker 1: we didn't know nothing about them. I know that's that's
- 27:32Speaker 1: a new development because I don't have anything to say
- 27:35Speaker 1: about this man with this cowboy rule. All right, Well,
- 27:43Speaker 1: here's something you're gonna have to wait. Count Sister Raydeen Lockheart. Uh,
- 27:48Speaker 1: would you please talk to her and tell her to
- 27:50Speaker 1: stop wearing the blind fold to church? Every since ever
- 27:54Speaker 1: since she watched a beard box, she's been wearing this
- 27:58Speaker 1: blind file. He stayed here all week because she couldn't
- 28:03Speaker 1: find her way home. You don't have to talk to
- 28:06Speaker 1: the fast. She is in the sanctuary every Now that's
- 28:09Speaker 1: obviously quite funny. But I haven't seen bird Box, so
- 28:15Speaker 1: why would I don't watch bird Box? He calls it
- 28:21Speaker 1: right over there next to ill Chopel. Anytime I see
- 28:26Speaker 1: drug Lord, I watches that. Ye Choppels were better than
- 28:32Speaker 1: bird Box. I can't a shoot it. Your Choppel were
- 28:37Speaker 1: running some dope. Now, if he Choppel came to church
- 28:42Speaker 1: with shouting and some kilo fell out of his pocket,
- 28:46Speaker 1: we could build a new church yas weekend. I don't
- 28:50Speaker 1: even call it the Choppel Missionary Baptist Church. All right, now,
- 28:56Speaker 1: look at here past the eye. We are fed out
- 28:59Speaker 1: with these people. Let's everyone needs to hear this. If
- 29:02Speaker 1: if the church has fed any of your children more
- 29:05Speaker 1: than three times, we will be claiming them on our
- 29:08Speaker 1: twenty eighteen. We are we are tired of not being
- 29:13Speaker 1: able to recoup what we put out. Now, Sister Harriet Johnson,
- 29:16Speaker 1: her set of twins, uh is here every day in
- 29:19Speaker 1: the after school program, and she's arguing about us claiming
- 29:23Speaker 1: the twins on our text. That's on you path. Well,
- 29:26Speaker 1: we're claiming the kids, as deacon said, we're claiming the kids,
- 29:32Speaker 1: and we're you know you we claiming sister Harriet. I started,
- 29:40Speaker 1: probably wouldn't have made the tea sister callerwood or immediately
- 29:46Speaker 1: and said just forget go. Then all right, I guess
- 29:49Speaker 1: I want to tell you about R. Kelly and the
- 29:50Speaker 1: youth Choir. Let's do that, lady, Okay, coming up at
- 29:55Speaker 1: the top of the hour. He did not say that.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Entertainment come up. Uh, they're surviving R. Kelly documentary. We'll
- 30:04Speaker 1: get to it right after this. You're listening to Steve
- 30:08Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. All right, everybody, let's welcome our new
- 30:13Speaker 1: affiliates to the Steve Harvey Morning Show family. It's w
- 30:16Speaker 1: k X I f M. That's Kicks one oh seven
- 30:20Speaker 1: point five in Jackson, missus snippy yeah, yeah, yeah, and
- 30:28Speaker 1: w R O you ninety two point one, Dayton's R
- 30:33Speaker 1: and B leader in Dayton. Ohai baby, yeah, welcome, welcome, Welcome.
- 30:40Speaker 1: What took you so long? Yeah? All right, yeah, man.
- 30:46Speaker 1: That that's I've been really trying to get in Jackson, Misson,
- 30:49Speaker 1: just for Monica's sake. So we're being about all the
- 30:52Speaker 1: great stuff in that state that we never get to
- 30:55Speaker 1: see Monica. Everybody tell when she go to the reunions. Now, Dave,
- 31:06Speaker 1: who is all about Monicai girl gonna they're gonna give
- 31:11Speaker 1: a school wow and us name a street after her,
- 31:15Speaker 1: a boulevard. Yeah, alright, key to the city, all right
- 31:21Speaker 1: now in today's entertainment news, guys, Uh, we were all
- 31:26Speaker 1: shocked when we when we watched the Surviving R. Kelly documentary.
- 31:30Speaker 1: It's a three night, six part Lifetime Network docum series.
- 31:34Speaker 1: It told the story of several women who accused R.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Kelly of child underage, mental, physical, and sexual abuse, as
- 31:43Speaker 1: well as interviews with associates, his former staff members, his brothers,
- 31:48Speaker 1: and his ex wife, Andrea Kelly. Andrea Kelly, Uh, she
- 31:52Speaker 1: was also a victim. These women, some of them were underage. Uh.
- 31:58Speaker 1: They lived in our Kelly's howl in the studio for
- 32:01Speaker 1: years and they all talked about being forbidden to talk.
- 32:05Speaker 1: They were denied movement in the house and the horrific mental, physical,
- 32:10Speaker 1: and sexual abuse. I mean, it was amazing what came out. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 32:17Speaker 1: if you had to ask him, uh, you know, to
- 32:20Speaker 1: go to the bathroom, Steve. I watched it and it
- 32:24Speaker 1: was crazy because I watched it with my daughters in
- 32:28Speaker 1: the other room, my wife, some of my wife's friends.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Everybody was sitting around a TV watching and I was
- 32:34Speaker 1: in my office, and I wouldn't just be honest, man,
- 32:38Speaker 1: I just didn't know the magnitude of it. And I
- 32:41Speaker 1: really feel badly. I feel bad because I wish I
- 32:45Speaker 1: had understood the depth of what was going on. Not
- 32:50Speaker 1: that I could have done anything about it, but oh
- 32:55Speaker 1: my reaction to him would have been very, very different.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I just didn't know it to the degreased. You know,
- 33:03Speaker 1: at first, you know, you know, you know, you know,
- 33:05Speaker 1: I gotta guess, you know, you gotta, you know, give
- 33:09Speaker 1: a person dawn trial, you gotta see if it's true.
- 33:11Speaker 1: All this hip right, the benefit of the doubt. Um,
- 33:14Speaker 1: that's how that's how you're supposed to do it. But
- 33:19Speaker 1: but you know, when I saw the tape, yeah, I
- 33:21Speaker 1: went whoa wait, whoa, whoa whoa. But for a long time, dog,
- 33:25Speaker 1: it was a rumor and it was humor for a
- 33:27Speaker 1: long time. It was that. Yeah. Yeah, And I think
- 33:30Speaker 1: everybody was shocked, Steve, not just Shoe. I mean, we
- 33:32Speaker 1: found out things that we had no idea what's going on,
- 33:36Speaker 1: none whatsoever. The depth of it. Man. Yeah, I felt
- 33:41Speaker 1: bad because, yeah, it was shocking because being at the
- 33:47Speaker 1: time or earlier, being from Chicago being an R. Kelly fan.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I mean, we loved his music, you know, and it
- 33:55Speaker 1: was hard to separate. I guess, you know, you gotta.
- 33:58Speaker 1: He's an artist and his art so you know, you
- 34:01Speaker 1: hear these rumors and you're you know, people are like, well,
- 34:03Speaker 1: that's okay. I still like his music. You know, he's
- 34:05Speaker 1: still Doocolate Factory. Yeah, and all of that. But then
- 34:09Speaker 1: to see the surviving R. Kelly doc you serious, is
- 34:13Speaker 1: I'm done? Yeah? I wouldn't win it at all. Oh,
- 34:16Speaker 1: I'm done. It's a whole new level. Yeah. Well, we'll
- 34:18Speaker 1: talk about it some more, but right now, let's get
- 34:20Speaker 1: to headline news, ladies and gentlemen. The one and only
- 34:23Speaker 1: Happy New Year, miss Anne Trip, thank you very much
- 34:27Speaker 1: in Happy New Years to you everybody out there. Good morning.
- 34:30Speaker 1: This is Androputs the news. In Texas, two suspects are
- 34:33Speaker 1: under arrest for the fatal shooting of that child we
- 34:35Speaker 1: were talking about, seven year old little black girl named
- 34:37Speaker 1: Jasmine Barnes. Jasmine was shot while riding in a car
- 34:40Speaker 1: with her mother and her siblings to the store and
- 34:43Speaker 1: would initially seemed like a racist drive by Harris County
- 34:46Speaker 1: Sheriff Ed Gonsalis says the first suspect, twenty year old
- 34:49Speaker 1: Eric Black, faces capital murder charges. Mister Black has acknowledged
- 34:53Speaker 1: his role in Jasmine's murder. We've also received information that
- 34:57Speaker 1: this involves a second individual as well. We are still
- 35:01Speaker 1: trying to verify some information and this investigation is ongoing.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Jeff Gonzalis does say that since both suspects are African American,
- 35:10Speaker 1: that race does not appear to have been the motive,
- 35:12Speaker 1: and that little Jasmine's family were not the intended targets.
- 35:15Speaker 1: A second suspect is also on custody. A search still on,
- 35:19Speaker 1: well not really a search for They're hoping that the
- 35:20Speaker 1: white man who was seen in a red pickup truck
- 35:23Speaker 1: does come forward. They say he was just probably a bystander.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Today's day seventeen of the partial's government shut down. President
- 35:29Speaker 1: Trump says talks will continue this week between Democrats and
- 35:32Speaker 1: the GOP to hopefully craft and agreement to end it.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Right now, talks are at an impass over Trump's insistence
- 35:37Speaker 1: on getting five billion dollars for his border wall, as
- 35:40Speaker 1: the Democrats say they're only willing to green light at
- 35:42Speaker 1: one billion point three for increased border security. They say
- 35:46Speaker 1: people can tunnel under a border wall. Meanwhile, President Trump
- 35:49Speaker 1: insists that people will win him. Many of those people
- 35:52Speaker 1: that won't be receiving a paycheck, many of those people
- 35:56Speaker 1: agree with what I'm doing. Some of the people from
- 36:00Speaker 1: say they don't know who he's talking to. Nevertheless, more
- 36:02Speaker 1: than eight hundred thousand federal employees have either been furloughed
- 36:05Speaker 1: or they're working without pay deferred pay. Basically, Trump says
- 36:08Speaker 1: the shutdown should go, would go on, and can go
- 36:10Speaker 1: on for months. He says, by the way, the partial
- 36:12Speaker 1: government shutdown could soon affect millions of Americans who lie
- 36:15Speaker 1: on food stamps to feed their families. The food stamp
- 36:18Speaker 1: program is run by the Department of Agriculture, and that's
- 36:21Speaker 1: one of the agencies that remains unfunded because of the shutdown. Meanwhile,
- 36:25Speaker 1: the Trump administration's lists of defections continues to grow, this
- 36:29Speaker 1: time as the chief of staff for the Department of
- 36:30Speaker 1: Defense reradmil Kevin Sweeney, he's leaving the trial of those
- 36:34Speaker 1: charged with the brutal murder of Washington Post columnists Halmalkas
- 36:37Speaker 1: Joji has begun. Saudi Arabia's attorney general reportedly seeking the
- 36:41Speaker 1: death penalty for five of the eleven people charging connection
- 36:44Speaker 1: with the crime. High profile trial opened last week in
- 36:47Speaker 1: the Saudi capital of the names of the queues have
- 36:49Speaker 1: not been officially released. Finally, the movie The Green Book
- 36:52Speaker 1: won Best Comedy, Best Supporting Actress Regina King, Best Film,
- 36:56Speaker 1: Bohemian Rhapsody. Not a Star Is Born. Best Actress went
- 36:59Speaker 1: to Glenn Cloe, not Lady Gaga at last night's Golden Globes. Meanwhile,
- 37:03Speaker 1: Aquaman continues to swim above the competition, being another thirty
- 37:07Speaker 1: million dollars over the weekend. Total over the weekend worldwide
- 37:10Speaker 1: for Aquaman nine hundred and forty million dollars. Not my
- 37:14Speaker 1: next paycheck. Now back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 37:17Speaker 1: You're listening to show, Steve, We're still talking about Surviving
- 37:23Speaker 1: R Kelly, the docuse series. Um So, how did R
- 37:26Speaker 1: Kelly manage to escape repercussions for his actions? Um? You know,
- 37:32Speaker 1: clinical psychologists said in the documentary that society's indifferent towards suffering,
- 37:38Speaker 1: towards the suffering of black and brown girls and women.
- 37:41Speaker 1: People don't care about black girls. That that was the
- 37:44Speaker 1: conclusion they had drawn. One thing for show. If R
- 37:47Speaker 1: Kelly had done this to some white girls, yeah, yeah,
- 37:54Speaker 1: don't you know ten years ago? Yeah, bro, ten years ago,
- 38:00Speaker 1: any any inkling of it, which is the part that's
- 38:03Speaker 1: embarrassing to me as a black man, and it ticks
- 38:07Speaker 1: me off because you can't do this to these many people,
- 38:13Speaker 1: the people's lives that this dude has affected negatively. Here's
- 38:20Speaker 1: the therapy parents who haven't seen their daughters in three
- 38:23Speaker 1: years because it is camp he had at this cold house. Yeah,
- 38:27Speaker 1: that right down. That's crazy. It is it is. Yeah,
- 38:31Speaker 1: that's crazy, bro. At least you could do and say, hey, man, y'all,
- 38:36Speaker 1: we have a little thing at the house. Donna see
- 38:38Speaker 1: your mama something you you you ain't even dog, you
- 38:41Speaker 1: ain't even trying to fix that. And you're going with
- 38:44Speaker 1: the consenting adults. Now, dog, you've used Yeah. R Kelly
- 38:51Speaker 1: has taken the pimp mentality and use the exact mindset
- 38:56Speaker 1: that pimps use to prostitute out women. Is help. He
- 39:00Speaker 1: prostituted them out for himself. Yeah, and that's why he
- 39:04Speaker 1: wanted to separate them, Steve from their parents. But that's
- 39:10Speaker 1: why he wanted to do that. These young girls wanted
- 39:13Speaker 1: to be one of They wanted Yeah, they had dreams,
- 39:17Speaker 1: you know, to meet some Yeah, to meet someone an
- 39:19Speaker 1: artist of of of R. Kelly's magnitude for him to
- 39:23Speaker 1: help their career. Oh my god. I think the sickest
- 39:27Speaker 1: part is that while he was making all those good music,
- 39:29Speaker 1: he was doing evil on the end of his life,
- 39:32Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah, And we didn't society,
- 39:37Speaker 1: we didn't know, you know, we knew his music and
- 39:40Speaker 1: and was like, he's a musical genius with these kids, Yeah,
- 39:43Speaker 1: songs that he's putting out. So we just a lot
- 39:48Speaker 1: of people's attitude toward him because it was a positive song.
- 39:53Speaker 1: They were singing in church jay, black churches, white churches,
- 39:57Speaker 1: everybody singing when he did he Saved Me. Yeah. Yeah,
- 40:02Speaker 1: when I first heard it, said, We was on the
- 40:04Speaker 1: radio in LA. When I first heard He's Save Me,
- 40:06Speaker 1: I started curring, Yeah, that song was so good. He
- 40:09Speaker 1: saved me. Hey, the guy is a musical genius, ning
- 40:14Speaker 1: that absolutely, absolutely he has much pervert but evil genius.
- 40:20Speaker 1: He's an evil, evil genius dude. Right here, Yeah, well,
- 40:24Speaker 1: let's go break coming up some mo. What is it
- 40:28Speaker 1: you're listening to? Show? All right? So here we are
- 40:33Speaker 1: still discussing the Surviving R Kelly docu series that was
- 40:36Speaker 1: on Lifetime over three nights, six part series. Uh, yeah,
- 40:43Speaker 1: I missed three months. Yeah it was. It was Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
- 40:48Speaker 1: two parts two parts six episode. Yeah, and it originally aired. Yeah,
- 40:54Speaker 1: it's six. I must ain't seen all six. No, no,
- 40:57Speaker 1: you didn't you maybe yeah, maybe you missed the first. Yeah,
- 41:02Speaker 1: I've been so mad though, man, I can't. Everybody because terrible.
- 41:07Speaker 1: And then he came out with this song. I admitted, yes,
- 41:13Speaker 1: nine minutes and I listened to it because I'm in
- 41:17Speaker 1: it a couple other people and you know, at the time,
- 41:20Speaker 1: you know this wasn't out yet, right, No, so I'm
- 41:23Speaker 1: just seeing this. I admitted song. Then when I heard
- 41:26Speaker 1: his wife talking about it on the thing, you know,
- 41:28Speaker 1: I went back and pulled it up. You know, you
- 41:32Speaker 1: spent nineteen minutes saying I admit it. You didn't admit
- 41:35Speaker 1: to anything. But if you just spent nineteen minutes saying
- 41:38Speaker 1: I'm sorry, it would have went a lot further with me.
- 41:43Speaker 1: But like, right now, man, this guy I was really
- 41:46Speaker 1: John Legend, really man. Oh he was good. He was
- 41:50Speaker 1: he was really really good. He was really good. I
- 41:52Speaker 1: could not have musician. And yeah, I'm glad they didn't.
- 41:58Speaker 1: I'm glad I wasn't an interview because I don't know
- 42:00Speaker 1: how to be that poised about it, because it was
- 42:02Speaker 1: so I was so mad watching the entire thing, because
- 42:08Speaker 1: child after child after child after child, this was happening.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna take I'm sixteen, what that got to do
- 42:16Speaker 1: with it? Yeah, even after he came out of court
- 42:19Speaker 1: stick young young women, he was still looking at young women.
- 42:24Speaker 1: When he came out of court from being on trial
- 42:27Speaker 1: for being with young women, he's still looking at him
- 42:30Speaker 1: when he comes out of courts. He's just there's something
- 42:34Speaker 1: wrong there. Now, you know, let's do this here. Now,
- 42:38Speaker 1: let me just say this now, the part that it
- 42:44Speaker 1: was so misunderstanding from them children, the two thirty year
- 42:49Speaker 1: old women. I learned a lot about abuse and how
- 42:53Speaker 1: it works, the mental abuse, because I know how men
- 42:58Speaker 1: can be sometimes, but I don't know nobody like that.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Oh you mean like r Kelly. Oh no, sir, he's no.
- 43:07Speaker 1: I've never met him before, because it's no way I
- 43:10Speaker 1: could know you and allow you to exist. And I
- 43:14Speaker 1: know it's it's like it's like one time at the
- 43:18Speaker 1: mentoring camp, h this little boy said, hey, mister Harvey,
- 43:22Speaker 1: you know my father. Wait, no, I take care of
- 43:26Speaker 1: I take care of little boys whose father's not in
- 43:29Speaker 1: their life. You and my father friends, Hold up, don't
- 43:34Speaker 1: your father can't be my friend and he doesn't take
- 43:41Speaker 1: care of his kids. I don't. You can't be my
- 43:44Speaker 1: friend because I can't notice that little boy pulled the
- 43:47Speaker 1: pitch out. And I knew his dad. Oh, and was
- 43:51Speaker 1: friends with his daddy, So he was right. The little
- 43:53Speaker 1: bit was right. I got on my phone. I had
- 43:56Speaker 1: a daddy number. Boom had his number in his phone.
- 43:59Speaker 1: I don't call him. I called him, said, yo, man,
- 44:02Speaker 1: what's happening it? Steve, what's happening it? I said, hey man,
- 44:05Speaker 1: where you at right now? I'm down at the shop.
- 44:08Speaker 1: I said cool. I said, I got your son right.
- 44:12Speaker 1: He said, what you mean you got? I said, here
- 44:14Speaker 1: my mentoring camp. Oh that's cool. No, no, no, no,
- 44:21Speaker 1: this ain't cool. Yea, Why I got your son? Why
- 44:25Speaker 1: your son ain't got no relationship with you? Well, you
- 44:28Speaker 1: know as mama tripping hold on party. This is for
- 44:32Speaker 1: boys that's from single parent homes. Ain't got no l
- 44:37Speaker 1: Hey man, you and he lived in Dallas. I had
- 44:41Speaker 1: him come to the camp. That good. Okay, pick your
- 44:46Speaker 1: son up, you're gonna do the camp with your boy.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I'm not gonna taking so I don't know people like that.
- 44:51Speaker 1: So I don't know. No R Kelly and R Kelly
- 44:54Speaker 1: man for this for this like you know, talking about
- 44:58Speaker 1: like in his song, I admitted I don't know why
- 45:00Speaker 1: brothers would try to bring another brother down. No, this
- 45:04Speaker 1: is your sugar, honey ice. Yeah, I don't know. No,
- 45:07Speaker 1: parents ain't winning there and got the keys. I got
- 45:10Speaker 1: wellness check for your egg guys, and we're gonna switch
- 45:15Speaker 1: gears after nobody gonna be well when I get it.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Frank phone call with the nephew coming up. We'll switch
- 45:21Speaker 1: gears right after this you're listening to coming up at
- 45:28Speaker 1: the top of the hour, right about four minutes after.
- 45:31Speaker 1: It's today's Strawberry letter. Here's the subject for today. My
- 45:34Speaker 1: wife is living like she's single, live in my bathline
- 45:44Speaker 1: right now. The nephew is here though. Yeah, with today's
- 45:47Speaker 1: prank phone call. What you got for us now? Brand
- 45:49Speaker 1: spranking new this one. It's called triple cask you for
- 45:52Speaker 1: the nineteen No, you know, if three people passed and
- 45:54Speaker 1: they can you know the family might not have enough
- 45:58Speaker 1: money for all them kids. Just one castle, three people.
- 46:03Speaker 1: One came the concept this can work money listens mortuary man,
- 46:17Speaker 1: help you? Hey, how you doing? How you Calvin? How
- 46:20Speaker 1: you doing? My name is Brandon Man, Brandon Giles. UM,
- 46:25Speaker 1: I'm calling. We've got somebody that has passed actually three
- 46:31Speaker 1: people passed away. I thank you for that, man. It
- 46:36Speaker 1: was kind of expected, so you know, it wasn't something
- 46:40Speaker 1: that caught us off guard. But you know, but all
- 46:43Speaker 1: in all, you know, we're still grieving about losing our
- 46:46Speaker 1: loved ones. But but I wanted to give you all
- 46:48Speaker 1: a call. We're trying to um pick a particular funeral
- 46:52Speaker 1: home on who we want to um take care of. Yes,
- 46:57Speaker 1: yes sir, yes, sir, okay, I can definitely help with that.
- 47:00Speaker 1: And uh, once again, I just want to to you know,
- 47:04Speaker 1: just let you know that we can pretty much do
- 47:07Speaker 1: the whole game that we can make sure that your
- 47:10Speaker 1: need to take them from you know, from from now on,
- 47:14Speaker 1: UM we're here for you showing to get that out.
- 47:17Speaker 1: What is your main need? Uh? You said three people? Sir? Yes, yes, yes,
- 47:24Speaker 1: I wanted to bring attention to you. Do you guys
- 47:27Speaker 1: customize caskets? Yes, we do, goal plating, uh, engraving, We
- 47:34Speaker 1: even have a new thing where we can put the
- 47:36Speaker 1: picture of the person on the outside like a semi
- 47:39Speaker 1: gloss coating. We have a couple of ours. Yeah, I don't.
- 47:43Speaker 1: I don't need that all. No goal or nothing like that. Listen, listen.
- 47:46Speaker 1: What I want to do. Is it any way that
- 47:49Speaker 1: you could maybe uh customize a casket that can accommodate
- 47:54Speaker 1: three people? Um uh? Yes, like we we can. We
- 47:59Speaker 1: can cut demide each individual casket for each individual. No, no, no, no, Calvin,
- 48:06Speaker 1: I adn't want to ask. What I'm saying is if
- 48:08Speaker 1: I want to like like I like I said, deep
- 48:10Speaker 1: my could they was all close? You know, I don't
- 48:13Speaker 1: have a problem with all three of them being in
- 48:16Speaker 1: the same casket. I get you. Um uh you know,
- 48:22Speaker 1: to my knowledge is as far as I've been in
- 48:23Speaker 1: this business, I've never uh I'm not really sure we
- 48:28Speaker 1: can actually do that. I mean, I mean, but what's
- 48:31Speaker 1: the problem if we can get them all in there? Sir?
- 48:35Speaker 1: I mean I think that's a I don't even think
- 48:39Speaker 1: if for one, it's legal in this state or any state,
- 48:42Speaker 1: three people in one casket? Um, and ethics wise, I uh,
- 48:48Speaker 1: that's not really something that How can I say that
- 48:51Speaker 1: we actually, you know, but if you customizing a casket, Calvin,
- 48:56Speaker 1: then you ought to be able to put as many
- 48:58Speaker 1: people in there, if you make it deep enough from
- 49:00Speaker 1: wide enough. I ought to be to get three people
- 49:02Speaker 1: in there. Right. Well, the customization is is the outer
- 49:07Speaker 1: side of the casket. And maybe you know some people
- 49:11Speaker 1: even put TV screens on the inside or some of
- 49:14Speaker 1: their their their loved ones, memorable mementos. We customize it
- 49:20Speaker 1: for that, you know, colorwise. So what about when when
- 49:24Speaker 1: is a person real big h you know, a heaving
- 49:27Speaker 1: said person, you know you gotta have a casket that
- 49:29Speaker 1: can accommodate them, right, yes, But okay, so so you
- 49:33Speaker 1: ought to be able to put you ought to be
- 49:34Speaker 1: able to put three people in one casket if they
- 49:37Speaker 1: can fit. If you put two one way in one
- 49:40Speaker 1: the other other way, then you ought to be to
- 49:43Speaker 1: have all three of them in there at one time. Um,
- 49:46Speaker 1: is there anybody else around you and your family that
- 49:48Speaker 1: can help talk with me about this? I'm talking right now.
- 49:53Speaker 1: I'm trying to get I'm trying to accommodate my cousins
- 49:55Speaker 1: and get them straight, and I'm asking you can we
- 49:58Speaker 1: get them in a casket that one casket that can
- 50:00Speaker 1: accommodate three people. If you put two pillars on money
- 50:03Speaker 1: in one pillars. That's not something we're really just used
- 50:09Speaker 1: to doing, Calvin. But I'm calling you telling you that's
- 50:12Speaker 1: the way I want this customize. Man. All right, brother, look, brother, brother,
- 50:16Speaker 1: just just chill out with customs, all right. So we're
- 50:18Speaker 1: trying to get three people. I have a standard plan.
- 50:23Speaker 1: It'll be a low end standard plan for three individual caskets.
- 50:29Speaker 1: We ain't got we all have enough money for three
- 50:32Speaker 1: individual caskets. I keep telling you that we got room
- 50:36Speaker 1: for one casket. We just need to big enough, man,
- 50:40Speaker 1: so you could get everybody in there. Close the dope.
- 50:42Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not. I don't want to go back
- 50:44Speaker 1: and forth with you, sir. I know this is a time.
- 50:46Speaker 1: Then you ain't gotta go back and forth with me.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Buildings to our knees. I can bear my family. It's
- 50:53Speaker 1: I don't really know what to tell you, sir, But
- 50:55Speaker 1: I'm just really trying to help. I'm trying. Won't you
- 50:57Speaker 1: tell me you're gonna get three people in the casket?
- 50:59Speaker 1: Looking too? We cannot do that. You out on that, man.
- 51:04Speaker 1: I'm the one going through Bereaven I understand that, but
- 51:07Speaker 1: you are you're, you're, you're use the foul language. It's
- 51:11Speaker 1: we can't do it, brother, you hear me not, that's no,
- 51:15Speaker 1: no hold on my cousin. Them said they wanted to you. No, sir,
- 51:20Speaker 1: no we can okay. Look look, may man, y'all gonna
- 51:24Speaker 1: bury these three people and you're gonna put all three
- 51:28Speaker 1: of them in the same damn casking man. Two two
- 51:31Speaker 1: on one, one on one end and one on the other. One. Man, sir,
- 51:35Speaker 1: if you're drinking, just ain't nobody Let me tell you something. Man,
- 51:38Speaker 1: Let me say this to you. Your name Calvin, right, yes,
- 51:42Speaker 1: yes it is okay, so Calvin, Calvin, let me say
- 51:44Speaker 1: this to you. Either y'all gonna bury my cousin is
- 51:48Speaker 1: the way I want it, or Calvin, you're gonna get
- 51:50Speaker 1: your who you're talking to. That's what's going now. Now, no, now,
- 51:55Speaker 1: that's it, right there, sir. I've been trying to be
- 51:57Speaker 1: as professional as I can. This whole conversation as crazy
- 52:01Speaker 1: as it is. But now it ain't nothing crazy about. No,
- 52:03Speaker 1: no, no no, no, no, told you I want you to
- 52:05Speaker 1: bury my cousin. Come on down here, I got some
- 52:07Speaker 1: places to put your body and your cousin's body. How
- 52:09Speaker 1: about that? Huh? Yeah, because you know you don't you
- 52:15Speaker 1: don't sound too damn confident. You don't sound too confident. Calvin.
- 52:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you right now. I'm gonna tell you
- 52:21Speaker 1: right now, this ain't the place and I'm not the one.
- 52:25Speaker 1: You will be in the ground messing with us. Matter fact,
- 52:28Speaker 1: if you come here, I'm you up. How about that? Okay, Calvin? Okay, Calvin,
- 52:34Speaker 1: let me tell you something, Calvin, me and Tommy gonna
- 52:36Speaker 1: be down there to day. Then I'm bringing Tommy with me.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Who it's Tommy? Huh? This is nephew Tommy from the
- 52:43Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Martin Shoe. Baby, you just got prank, Calvin. Yeo,
- 52:50Speaker 1: y'all have me ready to whip everybody. Tell y'all, I

- 55:50Speaker 1: We can't make this up. No, no, no, no, people
- 55:53Speaker 1: think we do, though, because they're so crazy. But no,
- 55:55Speaker 1: here we go subject. My wife is living like she's single.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley. I have been married to my childhood
- 56:02Speaker 1: sweetheart for eight years and we have two wonderful children.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Early on, we had problems in our marriage and we
- 56:09Speaker 1: separated for a short period, but we worked things out
- 56:13Speaker 1: and I thought we were back on track. My wife
- 56:16Speaker 1: admitted that during our separation she had flings with two
- 56:21Speaker 1: other guys. She compared me to the guys she had
- 56:24Speaker 1: the flings with and bragged about the money and the
- 56:27Speaker 1: nice things they had. I am an educated guy and
- 56:31Speaker 1: I have a great full time job and a part
- 56:33Speaker 1: time job for extra money, but it's not enough for
- 56:36Speaker 1: my wife. She told me that I need to be
- 56:39Speaker 1: making six figures to keep her happy. She has a
- 56:43Speaker 1: demanding full time job, so she doesn't do much around
- 56:47Speaker 1: the house. I cook, I clean, I take the kids
- 56:50Speaker 1: too and from school, wash the clothes, help the kids
- 56:53Speaker 1: with homework, and maintain the law. She neglects my sexual
- 56:59Speaker 1: needs too, because she goes out most days after work
- 57:02Speaker 1: to unwind, and when she comes home she says she's exhausted.
- 57:08Speaker 1: A few days after Christmas, she told me that I
- 57:11Speaker 1: need to find a nice woman that will appreciate me
- 57:14Speaker 1: and the little bit I have to offer because she
- 57:17Speaker 1: needs more. She told me that after I've found her
- 57:21Speaker 1: texting one of her old flings, I asked her to
- 57:24Speaker 1: see the text and she showed it to me. The
- 57:28Speaker 1: guy was asking her for sex again, and he said
- 57:31Speaker 1: that their chemistry is unmatched. I am trying to stick
- 57:35Speaker 1: out for my kids, but I cannot be her doormat
- 57:38Speaker 1: in the process. She doesn't respect me as the man
- 57:41Speaker 1: of the house, and I am not sure how we
- 57:43Speaker 1: got to this point, but she is very disrespectful. Do
- 57:47Speaker 1: you think I should try to stay for the sake
- 57:49Speaker 1: of my kids or make her wishes come true and
- 57:53Speaker 1: leave wishness the husband? Husband, It seems like a letter
- 58:01Speaker 1: that a wife would write, but now this time the
- 58:03Speaker 1: husband wrote this one. And you know, doesn't the grass
- 58:07Speaker 1: always look greener on the other side. I mean, she's
- 58:10Speaker 1: you know, thinking that these guys who were taking her
- 58:12Speaker 1: out when she was on a break from you, you know,
- 58:14Speaker 1: spending money in nice things and all that. Yeah, but
- 58:18Speaker 1: she came back home. She's not with him, so the
- 58:21Speaker 1: grass always looks greener on the other side. I have
- 58:24Speaker 1: to ask you though, what do you want to do?
- 58:26Speaker 1: I mean, you're asking us should you stay for the
- 58:28Speaker 1: sake of your kids. I'm sure you don't want to
- 58:30Speaker 1: stay with a wife who continues to disrespect you like
- 58:33Speaker 1: your wife does. I mean, kids are no kids. You
- 58:36Speaker 1: don't have to take this man, You don't have to
- 58:38Speaker 1: take you, do know that, right? I mean, where's your dignity?
- 58:41Speaker 1: Where's your self respect? Getting your kids and leaving her
- 58:45Speaker 1: will probably be the best thing you can do to
- 58:48Speaker 1: save yourself and your two children. Okay, from this mama
- 58:53Speaker 1: right now, she's just out of order. I mean you
- 58:56Speaker 1: says she's disrespectful, she's all of that. You sound like
- 58:59Speaker 1: a good man and a hard working man and all
- 59:02Speaker 1: of that. You know, you're cooking, cleaning and doing all
- 59:04Speaker 1: this stuff and taking the kids to school, working two jobs.
- 59:08Speaker 1: You shouldn't be a dormat for her, So you're right
- 59:10Speaker 1: about that. She definitely is disrespecting you, and I think
- 59:16Speaker 1: you should take her advice. I really do. I think
- 59:19Speaker 1: you there is a nice woman who'll appreciate you. There
- 59:21Speaker 1: are plenty of them, as a matter of fact, who'll
- 59:23Speaker 1: take you and the kids. So um, get on out
- 59:27Speaker 1: of there. Okay, you don't have to take this, Steve, Wow,
- 59:32Speaker 1: this is crazy. Yes, it is my wife living like
- 59:36Speaker 1: she's saying. She is just right there. Who wrote this letter?
- 59:42Speaker 1: He did? My wife admitted doing our separation. She had
- 59:46Speaker 1: a fleeing with two other guys. Just been out there
- 59:50Speaker 1: just not no off fair. She's been doing what low lounge.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: It's out here, just showing her natural two flames. That
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: was enough. She gonna compare the guys that she had
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: the flames with, bragged about the money and the nice
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: things they had. She gonna come back home and tell
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: me about it. Well, you might well stay your ass
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: out that so disciment from me. You ain't fit to brain.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: You have to come back to Steve Harvet tell me
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: this hire who you think I am? But who are
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: you talking to? Then let's go. I am an educated
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: guy and have a full great, full time job and
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: a part time job for extra money, but it's not
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: enough for my wife. Somebody told me something one time.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: I just want to share with you, a very very
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: wealthy person. He said, if you got one job and
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: it ain't cutting it for you, why would you go
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: get another? One of them said, if you got a
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: job that ain't cutting for your next movies. You're gonna
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: have to open some type of little hustle on the
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: side of business. But he said, he's talking. He said,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: don't go get another job. Okay, he said, because you
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: got one job ain't working for me, what why would
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: you get another one of them? Right? So that was
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: a very educational thing. Look, she told me that he
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: needed to be making six figures to keep her happy.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Now you got two jobs that ain't making six figures.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: So you're just working all the day and you still
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: ain't making six figures. But this health for right here,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: and told you that's what you need to do to
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: make her happy. To get on back out there and
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: get the flaming again. See that what you probably need
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: to do. Now. She has a demanding full time job,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: so she don't do much round in the house. Now,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: I want y'all listening to this. Right here, he working
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: two jobs already, Right, she got a demanding full time job.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: But he say, I cooked, clean, take the kids to
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: and from school, washed clothes, help the kids with a homework,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: and maintain the lawn. Already got two jobs. I just
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: told this him. I got a full time job at
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: a part time job. I ain't got time for this hill, right,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Hang one, Hang on, we're gonna have part two of
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: your response coming up at twenty three after the hours
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: subject my wife is living like she's single. We'll be
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: back right after this. You're listening show, all right, Come on, Steve,
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: let's recap today's Strawberry letter, Part two of your response
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: to and that's is this woman don't want this man.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: When they separated, she had a fleeing and now she
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: compared the guys to her. He do everything, he do
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: all the work, and he got two jobs. She neglects
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: my sexual need because she goes out most days after
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: work to unwind, and when she come home, he exhausted. Quick.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: What do you think when she out there on wine
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: after hard day work and when she comes home she's exhausted. Yeah,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: what you think she exhausted from unwirled? Unwinding ain't exhausted.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: It's when you're getting wound up that's exhausted. It's when
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: you get see men, see somebody winding her up real tight,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: and then what sending her asshole that that's what is
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: getting tight. Now she do that three times a night. Boy,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: She coming in this house tide as hell then a
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: few days after Christmas, she told me, I need to
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: find a nice woman that appreciate me and a little
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: bit that I had off. Well, you know, she just
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: told you you need to go find you somebody post
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: and dog gonna you can do that? Man? Yeah, because
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: she needs most she told me. I found I found
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: her texting one of her old friends. I asked her
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: to see the text. She showed it to me. First
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: of all, you're not fitna be that comfortable in my house.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: While I asked you to see the texting him. Yet
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: show it to me. You're gonna have seen me somewhere
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: in my life go off on somebody where you would
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: you would pause and go you know what. Showing him
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: this text right now probably ain't gonna be the best
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: thing because he has an ignorance side to it, and
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: I don't want to see it. But now see, you
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: ain't never demonstrated that. Let me see what you're texted him. Yeah,
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Oh you're comfortable with him. Yeah. The guy was asking
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: her for sex again, and he said that they chemistry
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: is unmatched. I'm trying to stick it out for my kid.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: What did I read? The guy was asking her for
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: sex again and he said that the chemistry is unmatched.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I'm trying to stick it out for my kids. Man's
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: one more time. The guy was asking her for sex again,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: and he said that the chemistry is unmatched. I'm trying
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: to stick it out for my kids. He is missing
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: who asked, but what did you start before? You said,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: I'm trying to stick it out for the kids, But
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: I cannot be her dormat in the process. She don't
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: respect me as the man of the house, the man
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: of the house. Dog, you ain't been the man of
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: the house that yan. Then she when I didn't have
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: them too flee. I'm not sure how we got to
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: this point, as that's why you typed the letter. You're
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: not sure how you got to this point. I'm I'm
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: crystal clear how you got y'all was going wrong in
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: your lives your childhood, sweetheart, y'all got married, hadn't experienced
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: no life. Then y'all had some problems in the relationship.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: She went out there and had a taste of life,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: and the taste she had wasn't the taste you've been
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: given them. See what you had been laying down she
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: thought was cool. Then she ran out there and ran
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: up into rowdy rodding it Piper. She ran up in
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: rowdy Roddy Piper. Then she ran up in the big
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: big dusty rolls. Then she ran up in the or
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: the junk yard Dog. Then she ran up into earny
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Land both both Brazil ran up into the chic and
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: ran up into some people that was tossing up, keeping
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: all up in the air and getting flipped. Andrea Ji
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: r up in that rand Saturday, you got some I
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: got some flat gorgeous Jean ran up there and ran
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: up into some rick flap and got turned the old
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: ut out. Now she come back home and shed here
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: with little tiny team, little little caiming to frown, keeping
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: in there playing sesame street. He didn't been out there
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: in the streets and ran up into the WWL. He
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: hadn't been in bed with the undertake all. I hadn't
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: had a date with triple. It been all over the place,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: getting throwed from coner to corner, tossed into the ropes,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: flying off on the turn buckle. Then all of a sudden,
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: ain't Johnsons hands on soup flavor put her in her
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: head and locking put her in a soup flavor, and
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: all of a sudden overhead fire and is carry over boom.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: She was on the ground. Now she back at the house.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: You ain't picking up going across the rain. Yeah, you
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: ain't jumping off the top rope. Yeah, you ain't used
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: none of the tree. Now she don't want you no more.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: That's how you got to this point. What you need
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: to do is do like she said, find you somebody
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: that appreciate the little bit you've got, that little bit
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: of money you're making, that little bit of love, and
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: you pack that little teaspooner thing. You've been just shelveding
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: around like you like you've been just dropping. You've been
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: dropping bringing hammelework. That ain't hammelework. That's number two leaded
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: pencil work. You ain't been doing what you thought you
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: would do. She went out a random set. That's right, Gene,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: don't come here, come to break the heat. Baby. So
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Bro appreciate you writing your letter. But two thousand nineteen
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: is open. Yeah, yeah, it's over. It's there, Kelly keys
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: they already the keys. No, all right, we gotta get
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: out of here. Guys, email us your Instagram us, your
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: thoughts on today's strawberry letter at Steve Harvey f M.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: And now coming up in about ten minutes, we'll talk
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: more about Surviving R Kelly the documentary right after this.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right, guys, we're still talking about
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: this um Surviving R Kelly video, I mean, the documenteries.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: It was over a three night period last week Thursday,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: Friday and Saturday, two episodes per fix altogether, and it
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: was just unbelievable. Steve. You mentioned earlier that John Legend
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: was there. He was the only male that I really
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: spoke out against our Kelly musician on the documentary. I
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: think a Chance the Rappers said something like he was
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: he regretted having R. Kelly are doing a song with
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: R Kelly. Yeah too, I mean, you know, because and
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: I gave Chance a break on it because no one
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: really knew the magnitude of it. You know, nobody's blaming
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Chance the rappers, no, man, not at all. I mean,
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: but man, I didn't know, man, I mean, it's so crazy, man.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: But my wife would telling me, Steve, what could you
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: have done? I just said, man, I just wish I
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: had known something, because I don't know what I would
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: have done. But I feel badly because you know, we
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: didn't make a biggest think about it. But it's hard
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: to make a big stink if you don't know the
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: extent of it. And like when you don't get cooperation
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: from the parents and the and the victim, which would
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: have sent him to prison in the first case of
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: child pornography because that girl was fourteen, but the parents
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: and the child wouldn't come forth because they were paid. Yeah,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: and they denied that it was the child that their
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: daughter in the video. They were paid and they were
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: payoffs that ripping your daughter out in a certain Basically, absolutely,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: there are some parents in this that I felt were accountable,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: had a share of blame for this, for letting their
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: daughter be in that situation in the first place. You're saying,
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: you've now everybody heard the rumors. Yeah, they were everywhere.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: They were rumors you dropped your baby off. You mean
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: when the tape first came out and all that, Who
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: do who do that? As we later learned, first of all, yeah, okay,
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: like like what you know, Look, I don't know, you know,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: things happen too quickly, But listen to this. You had
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: to concert with your daughter, all Kelly pull up on stage.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Mine ain't going up there get somebody. We ain't at
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: the show. No, it's it's so much man, from from
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: the parental standpoint, But I'm gonna just be honest with
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: your mind. I really felt for the parents who can't
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: get to that, or even their adult children who look, man,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: look were all parents in this world. My youngest is
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: twenty two. Okay, cool, if you don't see your daughter
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: for two to three years, come on, man, don't you're hurting.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: I mean, man, don't you're hurting in the pain. I got,
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: she's an adult. I got it's of consentual age right now.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: But I don't. I can't talk to you. And you know,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: there's a thing that parents say. I just wanted to
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: put my eyes on you. You know, everybody, everyone always
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: their parents say that, you know, and I just want
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: to hear you, just one from my eyes. Yeah, let
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: me look at you. You know, I haven't seen you
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: any parents. I understand the heartache that these parents are
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: going through who can't even reach or be contacting their
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: adult children because of the brainwashing that this dude has
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: put on these because he's used the pimp mentality on
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: these women and these girls controlled, even the thirty year
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: old girls that got involved. Once you go in there
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: thinking one thing, and the brainwashing begins, and that's the abusive.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: He's a predator's expert at shaping. And once you get
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: them to thinking less of themselves and more of you,
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: that's the beginning of the Pima. Yeah, and you're right.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: First they were saying he was so nice to them
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: and everything, and then they had to learn the rules.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Then they had to learn the rules, and the rules
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: were they had to call him daddy, and you had
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: to um ask for permission. If you wanted to go
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: to the bathroom, you had to ask R. Kelly for
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: permission to go to the bathroom. To eat all of that. Now, surely, yes,
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: now that I've said that about the fathers and the parents,
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: I have to say, after watching this thing, I'm I'm
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: that parent that went to the hotel to get his
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: her daughter. Yes, yes, which was like ticking me off.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: Where her uncle, her brother, yea, her granddaddy he got
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: a girlfriend with. But you mean where was the men?
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: Where were the men? And I think that's what I'm
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: hurt about is that we as black men were not
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: more involved in this. Every time I turn around, it
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: was a mother looking for a baby, and then when
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: I see the two fathers, we just want to see
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: we need a wellness check and all this. Okay, bro,
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: I got it, you know, and I got you can't
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: get to them, and I got the consensual and I
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: got they hide. Now I got it. But dog, I
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: just got to tell you man, I ain't in jail.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: But that's why breaking and enter it. Yeah, I'm sitting
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: in there next to Robert Brother with that three XL.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: That's why I'm in there with a two XH alone,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: because that's what I wear. Two it. Yeah, my interview
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: is from the gym in there, Me and me and
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: me and me and all. Kelly Brother just argue, right,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: But it goes back to what we were saying earlier
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: about not caring about black girls and brown girls like women.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: It's just different for us. They just don't care. Society
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: doesn't cares. Like you said now, I probably should say
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: you said it earlier if it were white girls girls. Yeah,
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: he said that. All. Yeah, we'll be all over it now.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: I don't know what's gonna happen to our Kelly. But
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: let me say this, Bill Cosby's in jail, Yes he is.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: I don't know how he can escape this. I know
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: it's and Harvey Weinstein's trial is coming up to this
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: year later this year in March, and you better know
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: something gonna happen to him, because he really did. He
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: opened up the gates man when this dude was doing
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: but he was doing some vile stuff. Man. Yeah, I
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: mean it's all vile. Yeah, it's all vile. Yeah. All right.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: I mean it's exhausting to think about what went on.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: But we'll be back with more of the Steve Harvey
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Morning Show right after this. You're listening, all right, fellas
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: and ladies. Uh, the NFL Division Play Football games are set.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: You guys know this? Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, way to
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: show up, texture yeah, way to show up. Yeah. What
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: did you see the performance? No, I can say that
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: would be a no. I've seen the receipt I got
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: for Folk tickets. I've seen that I got that round
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: round on seven Games'll talk about y'all. Y'all ally had playoffs, hope,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: I had hope you hope you wear a game with
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: two and you did better than just winning a game.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: You won seven games? You have we did TENI fire
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: regular season. I'll tell you what though, Cowboys, they actually
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: waste Man. You gotta respect him though. Jail Dad. Prescott
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: he playing some good ball and Zeke playing some good bay.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: You gotta get some. I like the players on the Cowboys.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: I don't like the team. I never liked that America team.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: I never like. But I've always liked Michael Irving. I've
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: always loved Emmy Smith. I've always been boys with Dion
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: catch Us coming to my comedy club in Dallas. Man,
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: I've always don Cattery Man. They some good dude. I
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: loved them boys man will burn Man. They had some
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: nice catters. I like Zeke Elliott, I like Prescott, I
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: like Mark Cooper. They don't winning guy. I like the
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: defense I like to do. I just don't like the
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: damn team. A lot of people on the team, Yeah,
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: I don't like and I don't like the Sands either.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: It's the fans, that's what they were rubbing in on
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: you part. They will call and you can't find them
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: when they lose. But what about the Eagles. The Eagles, yea,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: that was a tough game. That was a tough game
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: that Philly and Chicago, because you know, I got a
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: little Chocago game. That game hurt that dude, that dude
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: hurt that the Bears no you know, but but he
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: but he had kicked them first when the win, all
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: the time out on him. Man, they put their time out.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Is that pressure? Man's pressure, that's pressure. Forty three yards
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: field goal. You have one job now you is the
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: pressure stress? I know she But at the end of
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: the game though, see it's not that play, it's so
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: many other things that get you to that point. Like
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: if they have scored a touchdown, wouldn't have been no problem.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: If they got a first down, it wouldn't have been
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: no problem. But you over the incompleting players and dropping balls,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: getting tackled. Yeah, so now when you get tackled, you
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: drop a ball and you don't make the first down.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Now you not the Kick't just say dog dud because
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: he missed the one job he got. Well, you ain't
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: doing your job. Your ass didn't go point well made
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: point well man, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, definitely
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: you would save you fument. Don't hold up in the
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: locker room when you just missed that damn field when
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: you missed when you missed that, when you don't even
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: go to locker room, getting your car with your playing.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: You just at gonna feel talking to people. Man, he
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: ain't sweating, surely, he ain't doing nothing to kick. He
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: just went his car driving home. He got his shot
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: pass on with the helmet on, his helmet on. I'm
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: at the light with the helmet, So congratulations to Philly. Yeah,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: man's hard. Really gonna play the Saints on Sunday, stort Man,
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: It's gonna be no, man, it's gonna be a hard
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: game because you know they rested Breeze the last game,
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: so he'll be healthy. But it's something about that Nick
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: folds Man. Man, this dude, they know how to win.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: They just win and and they just started putting it
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: together at the end of season because they didn't look
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: like world champs earlier. Carlin and her husband don't want
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: to hear that. Steve, oh girl, you know Tasha is
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: all about the Saint. Who that nation? Who that drop him?
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: Feels like nah, like I don't care because I like
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: both teams, So Browns ain't any dog. And we finn
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: get another coach excited man, and we got the seventeenth picks.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: We though, I love it, I love like, Hey, can
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: I talk to something other piece of sports? You know,
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: see Lebron James on a TV when he said that
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: he is the greatest player of all time because when
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: he went back to Cleveland and he won that title
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: with Cleveland, he figured after he won that game, that
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: made him the greatest player of all time. I think
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: that's the greatest basketball move in the history of the game.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: To leave a city, go somewhere within two titles, then
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: come back to that city and win a title for
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: that city that ain't won in fifty years. I think
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: that's the most gangster move in basketball work. He did it,
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: he pulled it off. But player, no, sir, thank you.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: And I love Lebron Jay with everything in me. I
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: think he's just now he messed around and do something
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: in LA like that, then you might have to call
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: him that. Oh yeah yeah, yeah yeah. If he could
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: do it in LA. But nobody knew they was losing
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: so ignorant. I'm gonna tell y'all something, and this is
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: this is gonna really throw you. But really, man to me,
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: to me, the greatest basketball player of all times, kareem up, dude,
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: because he revolutionized the game. He was unstoppable. No nobody
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: could do nothing with him. And what made him a
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: great center was when you filed him, he went to
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: the free throw line. He made them free throw date
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: centers used to hit free throws. That's the only reason
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: Shack ain't the greatest center of all time because Shaq
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: couldn't make a free throw. If he could have made
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: free throws, Shaq would have been the greatest, most dominant
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: force ever to play the game. I still gotta put
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Jordan up there with above. I can't. I can't argue
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: magic magic. Hey, when we come back. When we come back, me,

- 1:24:22Speaker 1: very hard all of all time. Man, it's too hard.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: You can't nobody has the top five. That can't be argued.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: No one has the top five or they go yeah, man.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: But because you can always put somebody on your list
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: that ain't on somebody, listen, you can't argue no, yeah,

- 1:24:48Speaker 1: the way. Let's Jay go. He's not even in the
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: sports like that. They don't even know five basketball? Why
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: asking Jay? I know one great one at all time
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: that don't get the respect that he should get that.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: Nobody even gonna mention, who do you want a man?
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Nobody's gonna bring up, all right, a movie, you idiot.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: I shouldn't even I shouldn't ask him that. Let me

- 1:25:39Speaker 1: You can't until you can't. It's just your top five.
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: You can't even list what you got killed, all right?
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: I got an Oscar rob My top five people who
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: changed the game. But he was before you was Evenscar
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: oh Man, if he was in here, would you see him,
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: would you know him? Probably wouldn't. Magic Johnson, definitely, Lebron, James,
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan. All five of them change
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: the game. Kareem Abdullah who changed the game. He was
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: so cold in college they stopped dunking. You look like
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: you're looking for an argument. Yeah, point God ever live magic.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: It wasn't. No, he wasn't. No, it wasn't because he
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: wants to fight great God to ever leave. And basketball

- 1:27:03Speaker 1: player on the planet today, Lebron d what's the last one?
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: Dog and the last one? It's the black move list, Kobe, Lebron,
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: Jordan's Magic and Kareine Okay, because Lord ha mercy, nobody
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: put Doctor Jay on there. Doctor Jay could have easily
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: have been on and I wanted to put shack on
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: him and Oscar Robinson. I wanted him on my list.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: Let me tell you somebody else who can make them list.
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you if I could have anybody's game,
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: if you could have anybody's game in the league right now,
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: who right now, who would you want? I can't hold
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: up yours? Hold up, guys, we gotta we gotta go.

- 1:28:23Speaker 1: I played like that. I want James hard Tomic said
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: James Harden. Jason Who, Yeah, come on, you're swimming it, Sammons, Right, Okay, okay,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: who did you say? I want any prime? Any when
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: he prime? When he wanted the champion? Harden had anybody's
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: game right now? Russell west He's he's a good thing. No,
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: I want Russell's game. He's motor, he's a fast thing,
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: he's older. His drive to play the game. He get
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: more triple doubles than anybody. He's scoring, he rebounded, and
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: he dished. You can't deny these triple doubles. A triple
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: double is hard to get. This dude got party m
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: last year. Man, But the game I would I would
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: want Russell Westbrook's game, right he just so involved. Man,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: his attitude. I just love his game. Man. That's if
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: I could I could play like anybody. That's who I

- 1:29:51Speaker 1: it though, he said the day. Okay, you said today.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: What about back in the day, Back in the day,

- 1:30:09Speaker 1: honest with running Max. That boy, I'm flowing up from Texas.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: Go ahead time. Who would you be the glue? Oh? Really? Okay?
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: I like this game? Come on, crazy, come on? Look
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: at that? Look at that? Look at his acts? Know
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: who I wanted to be? White? Connie Hawkins Who Connie
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: the Flying Franger roll Connie Man. Everything was a finger
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: roll Connie Hawk What team seventy six is Connie Hawkins Man?
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: Nobody said Bill Russell right, this was I wasn't gonna
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: say this time. I wanted. I don't want Jay wants
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: to it's too much. Please let me j come on.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: One of the baddest basketball players ever, Curly from the GLOBEZ.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: The Curly was good, but I had cream, I dude,
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: Youba on my sneak. Yeah, I had my sneakers, man,
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: I had him on my sneakers, and and I wanted
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: to be el Jim bait O Lord on the pearl roll.
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: You know how hard I practiced that move. We gotta
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: come back. I don't know if we're ever now, but
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: we'll be back and closing remarks all of that when
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: we come back at forty nine actually be our right
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: after this. You're listening, all right, Steve. Here we are
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: our last break of the day, but our first closing
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: remark of the year from you. You know, um thinking
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: about it and as always as we set out on
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: these new years, people have the tendency to make resolutions.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: I don't. I don't make resolutions for the new year
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: because as soon as I think of what I want
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: to do to improve myself, I don't wait to start
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: improving at the beginning of the year. I start on
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving. I started August twenty second. It don't
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: matter when the moment I think. So. I used to
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: do resolutions, but I don't do them anymore because life
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: is too short to wait till the start of the
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: year to begin. But how about if we look at
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: it this way, since God has afforded you this incredible
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: opportunity called life, and we are all Him, and even
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: against all the odds, we somehow made it to twenty nineteen.
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: I want to say this to you. You have a
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: say soul in how your year ago. You have a
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: say soul in how your year ago. You do not
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: have to sit here and just play it by ear.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: You have choices, You have decisions. You have the right
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: to view it positively or negatively. You have the right
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: to view your glass as half full or half empty.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: You have the right to accept righteousness or evil. You
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: have the choice. That's the beauty about being a human.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: God when he created us as creatures, as creators. As
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: he created us as creatures, he gave us, as the
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: human creature, the only one that has the power of
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: choice in all areas of life. We can choose when
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: we mate, where we live, how we live, who we
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: mate with, where we stay, what we wear, how we dress,
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: the climate we live in. Look polar Bears have to
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: live in polar regions. Penguins have to live fish have
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: to live in the ocean. It's the way it is.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: Bears got to be in woods, that's how that we
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: can go live on the desert, we can live on
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: the mountaintop. We get choices. Two thousand nineteen is your
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: year to make better choices. If you weren't happy with
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: the way two eighteen went for you, you have a
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: decision to make. You can change your thought process, and
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: by changing your thought process, you can change outcome. Now,
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: listen to this. You can't do it anything about everything
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: that happens to you, as nothing you can do about
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: what's going to happen to you. You can't stop nobody
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: from hurting your feelings. You can't stop your plant from closing,
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: you can't stop them from for closing on a loan.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: You can't stop dalla da da dada. But you can
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: do something about every single thing that happens to you.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: You can have the attitude so when it happens to you,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: it does not destroy you. You've got to stop letting
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: mishaps that come along in your life wipe you out
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: and cause you to paul so long that you no
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: longer in perpetual forward motion and you wind up stuck
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: on stupid. You have a choice to accept everything as
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: a child of God and say, you know what he
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: probably got something better for me. For example, they're gonna
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: close adorn me in two was nineteen. You think I'm
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: tripping about that. They already told me they probably gonna
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: close this door me in two nineteen. All that means
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: for me is God has another door for me to open,
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: for me to walk through. He gonna open another door.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: These people that make these decisions at these networks and stuff,
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: they don't control my life. They control that little piece
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: of section over that. I got the rest of it.
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: I'm God in charging me. So every door that closes
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: for you in two nineteen, if you understand that, that
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: allows for an opportunity for another door to open. Maybe
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: I need some more rest, Maybe I'll be working too all.
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: Maybe this is his way of saying, ain't pardner, you're
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: gonna slow down. I'm gonna help you slow down. I
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: ain't fit the fall, I ain't gonna have to sail nothing,
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: I ain't gonna lose nothing. But I've learned to accept
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: God's will and understand that everything that happens to me
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: happens to me for my good and my betterment, because
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: the God I serve didn't bring me this far to
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: leave me. You tell me. Why would God lift you
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: to the height that he got you too, just to
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: see you fall. That's not the God reserve, that's not God.
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: Don't let nobody deceive you. That ain't God. When something
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: happens in your life, it's an opportunity, man, that's all
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: twenty nineteen is. It's gonna be a series of opportunities.
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: When they tell you no, it's going to create another opportunity.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: If they tell you your counsel, it's going to create
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: another opportunity. If they tell you, well, we don't think so.
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: It's because they don't know. You think I care about
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: somebody telling me how they feel about me or show
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: our God. They think they made me and people didn't
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: make me. Man. That just give me the opportunity to
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: go do something else. They got you too, they got
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: faith full, they got everything. Now I ain't got said
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: round me, wonder trip about what you're gonna do with me.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: I know how to forge and pray and earn and
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: work for other opportunities. This ain't the only country. I'm global.
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: The God I serve is in a nationale. See that's
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: what I know. Don't let two thousand nineteen get by
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: you without understand that you have a say soul and
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: just how it goes. So come on, man, get your
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: attitude right, keep talking to God, pray, ask for guidance
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: and assistance, and see if God don't show you the way.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: That's how you get through two thy nineteen, That's how
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: we got through eighteen. You thought you weren't gonna make it,
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: but here you come on, boy, you better. I got
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: to go. Y'all, have a nice weekend. Steve. Every contests
